Today’s gratitude includes being grateful for my brother and our relationship. We get along so well and always have each other’s back and I know we are lucky. Other miscellaneous gratitude includes a protein powder that actually mixes well with coffee and a beautiful day for dog walkin’.

Practicing gratitude is powerful, but I don’t think deliberately striving to find things to be grateful for is the best way to do it. At least it hasn’t been for me. What has been helpful is any time a thought crosses my mind naturally that I’m grateful for something, no matter how fleeting of a thought it would otherwise be, I try to make sure to write it down, and expand on it. The latter might not be necessary for all, it’s probably more the act of just getting your thought officially out there that gives it a lot more gravity. You could speak it as well, if that is your preference. Just don’t let the thought leave without intentionally raising its value by writing or speaking it into being. And the more you do this, the more opportunities (grateful thoughts) you might receive to keep doing it.

23-296 Appreciate #2
Today’s Mandala Message: Maintain a State of Appreciation This week I’m working through Principle #53 “Practice Uncommon Appreciation”. I set my intention today to ponder aspiring to a state of appreciation. Canfield states: “When you are in a state of appreciations and gratitude, you are in a state of abundance. You are appreciating what you do have instead of focusing on and complaining about…

10 Tips On How To Unwind After A Long Demanding Day
The best way to relax is to just sit on my couch without having to think about anything else, either I watch a series that I've already started and try to finish, or sometimes I like to read and watch the news, sometimes I take the time to call my friends
Daily writing promptHow do you unwind after a demanding day?View all responses For me the best way to relax after a long tiring day and especially after putting my children to bed. 23-299 Appreciate #5
Today’s Mandala Message: Appreciate Yourself This week I’m working through Principle #53 “Practice Uncommon Appreciation”. I set my intention today to ponder appreciating myself. Canfield states: “I want you … for the rest of your life … own the magnificent being you are, the positive qualities you have, and the wonderful accomplishments you have achieved.” This one is a challenge for me. I grew…

Healing
Prompt 1: What do you wish you could remember on your bad days?
On my bad days I wish I could remember that they are just that, bad days. Not a bad life, just bad days, bad moments. Those feelings, those situations aren’t forever, they’re not permeant. I wish I could remember that ultimately, I am in control. I can control my reactions, my emotions and my feelings. If it’s something that I cannot control, then it’s something that I need to let go. You are strong. You are resilient. You are intelligent. My self-worth does not come from others. It doesn’t come with how much stuff you get done in a day or don’t get done at all. No one is obligated to make you happy, that’s your job. You can sit around and cry about it, but you must get up and dust yourself off no matter how difficult that might be. If you strive every day to be a better person than you were the day before, that is enough. Be kinder, gentler to yourself, you deserve self-love. It’s not about fighting to survive anymore; it’s about living your life. Make it better than you could have ever imagined. Embrace the journey, you don’t know how long you be on it.

it's the little things
since recognizing I'm in a bit of a rut rn I'm turning to romanticizing the little things in my life. here are just a couple things:
-officially enrolled in the fall semester
I'm taking two courses towards completing my gen ed [one conveniently is related to my major] and the other two are towards my major (which I've claimed as Journalism!)
-my residency got approved!
I'm sad to say my Alaska plates are finally going away but for good reason, my tuition looked soooo much better after the discount was applied!
-my SAP appeal got approved
I wanted to fucking cry when I found out. with a little persistence + hard work, most things work out! oh I am so excited!
-played the piano for the first time in a long time
I didn't realize the lobby still had a piano until I spotted it while heading up to the financial aid office. touching the keys again was incredible. I don't remember all of the songs I used to know but it was still great to dabble with the keys again <3
-helped a lady find her class while at school
big ups to myself and others who choose to pursue or complete school later in life. as I was working on some assignments, a lady approached me asking me if I could help her find her class. I gladly assisted and felt good when we were able to find it together. that made me happy :)
-hiked donut falls alone
granted I took hella breaks + was the sweatiest one through + through but the important part was I made it lmao
-threw some random shit together for dinner + it DELIVERED
I feel like adulting consists of that, sometimes you just fucking wing it + roll with the punches
-thankful for remote work
I've been at my company for 2 going on 3 years now + I am amazed at the inner growth I've felt since starting. granted there have been so many changes, especially as of late which tends to be a lot more frustrating than not but I digress - I'm grateful for the flexibility this role allows and the friends I've made while there. this has been the best job to date in terms of pay, work + home life balance, insurance, etc. lately I've been super grumpy about the changes but all in all, I really am grateful for my job despite the difficult days that seem redundant.
