my version of "that girl" 💁🏻‍♀️

sometimes i feel tempted to use the tag "becoming that girl" bc "becoming the best version of myself" is too long and uncatchy (and apparently not a tag??), but then i don't like the things i've come to associate with the stereotypical "that girl" and i don't want to force myself to fit into everything that goes with that kind of culture/aesthetic anyway, so i guess this post is just me reclaiming the term for myself and focusing on the aspects revelant to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

that girl holds herself to high standards but is not a perfectionist. she accepts that she is NOT a perfect, always (or even mostly)-put-together human being. there is no such thing.

that girl eats food that's both healthy and feeds her soul without guilt (also she isn't a big fan of "green smoothies") and she doesn't care if she's not skinny or doesn't have a certain body shape.

that girl doesn't care much to fit in with all the trendy clean aesthetics

in the same vein, she rejects toxic productivity, she doesn't follow wellness trends/tips that don't serve her, and she spends her money wisely

that said, that girl is good at minimizing procrastination

that girl takes time to appreciate the cozy and warm 🧸

that girl consistently wakes up as early as she needs to and would like to (not necessarily 5 AM)

that girl may not always feel like exercising but she does it anyway (as long as she isn't injured or sick) because it is good for her health, not because she wants to be perceived a certain way. (she also doesn't care if she looks like a mess while doing it 🚴🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️)

that girl understands that she isn't the main character

that girl doesn't care to wear makeup (it irritates her skin, and even if it didn't, she would just rather not) and has a minimalist skincare routine (literally just moisturizer, sunscreen, and soap for her sensitive skin)

that girl doesn't aspire to be enviable or care to be popular. there is no one-size-fits-all for being your best you.
