Oblivious little you didn’t even feel the extra weight in your jacket, occupied with trying to hide your giggles.

He expresses concern over the ogling boys and so called friends who hadn't shown up to school while throwing away the offending bottle of poison he had dripped into their food, pleasing him with the appeased look on your face and twisting his heart at the same time - how dare your concern be given those odious others? Very well, soon the obstacles will have to obey his orders and leave you if they value their organs!
Lies, cheats, fools...how many of them could possible be at school? Backstabbed by friends who haven't read the rules on how to survive without incurring terrible consequences...well, sinners who stained your name had to repent, and repent they will.
Of course he’s heard those onerous, opprobrious snakes of gossip girls oppugn your very Olympian-god worthy self and ostracized you out of their friend groups, essentially abandoning you, so what sort of knight would he be if he didn’t slay the dragons for his princess? He stalked their social media, then sabotaged every project, homework, relationship, posts, family ties and things they've done in their oppugnant existence that he could lay his hands on. How dare they cause you such ordeals.

oh lils... forgive the delay on this, i wanted to give this the proper attention. i wanted to wrap up all these lovely ideas into one package somehow and i think i got 90% of them!!
Din cursed.
He had taken on a mudhorn, a Krayt dragon, ice spiders, and Imperial remnants. He was a warrior, a Mandalorian, the best bounty hunter in the parsec. He had won the Darksaber itself from Moff Gideon.
And yet, his daughter's kriffing pigtails were getting the best of him.
She sat patiently on his knees, his armour discarded as it so often was these days, as his hands twisted in her delicate hair, and he worried he was hurting her, but she just continued to swing her legs happily in front of her, humming her new favourite tune while she played with the small metallic ball. It was very worn, now, after years of first Grogu and then Brea obsessing over it.
The hair flowed over his fingers, and he attempted to section it off properly, tying it off near her scalp with the twine you'd instructed him to use. He pulled back, examining his work. They were still uneven — Maker, how were they still uneven? — and tufts of hair had still escaped, gathering at the bottom of her hairline. He let out a heavy sigh.
"I'm afraid your buir didn't do a very good job, cyar'ika," he muttered, running his hands down her arms in an affectionate gesture. "We can have Mommy fix them when she's back from town with Grogu."
She hopped off his lap, fearlessly catapulting to the ground below, dashing over to the floor length mirror on her comically short legs. She giggled as twirled, her lopsided mismatched pig tails swinging to and fro.
"No, buir, I love them!" Din felt a warmth settle within his chest at her joy, continuing to watch her flit around the small house with determination. She grabbed a holopad off of her bedside table, chubby fingers holding tight to as she attempted to climb back into Din's lap. He held her under her arms, lifting her the last bit of the way. "Can you read to me?"
"Of course," he said, placing a soft kiss to the crown of her messy hair. Brea settled against him, nestling her small face into the fabric of his shirt, fingers holding in the material as she soothed herself in the warmth of her father.
You looked down at Grogu as you made the closing steps to home. He was asleep against in the baby carrier, small head falling against the swell of your chest, tired out from the stimulation of going into town — and probably the cookies you'd let him have that Din usually objected to. A small trail of blue crumbs still clung to his chin.
Pushing the wooden door open, you were about to call out to him, to let Din know you were home, but what you saw gave you pause.
Din was sat in the rocking chair, head lulled to the side in sleep. His eyes were closed, breathing even; you loved how at peace he always looked while he slept. Your daughter was huddled up to his chest, and he held her there gently with an arm around her back. His opposite hand held a holopad loosely, and you recognized one of Brea's favourite stories on the display as you gingerly stepped closer. You suppressed a laugh as you examined the state of your daughter's hair, no doubt an attempt by Din to style it.
You pressed a gentle kiss onto his forehead. Here, in your home with your sleeping family around you, your heart felt at peace.

BnHA Chapter 301: All My Todorokis
Previously on BnHA: We learned that when a bunch of superpowered villains are suddenly set loose with nobody around to stop them, things get fucked pretty quickly. Old Man Samurai and a bunch of other useless people decided to make “I pretend I do not see it” their new mantra, and resigned. Endeavor had a moment of despair on account of being crushed by the guilt of having ruined the lives of himself, his family, and basically everyone else in the entire world. For various reasons the heretical notion of “person who has done bad things feels sorry for doing them” sent fandom spiraling into a meltdown, so that was fun. The chapter ended with the entire Todoroki clan descending upon Enji’s hospital room to have a dramatic chat about Touya and All That General Fuckery.
Today on BnHA: Horikoshi is all “here’s the story of how Baby Touya slowly went insane trying to win his father’s love.” It’s a tale full of subverted expectations and heartbreaking inevitability, and also like twenty panels of the cutest fucking kids who ever existed on planet earth, who are so fucking cute that I can’t stop thinking about their cuteness even with all of the horrifying family tragedy unfolding around them. It is absolutely ridiculous how cute they are. Touya is out here pushing his tiny body past its limits because he inherited the same obsession as his dad and neither of them can put it aside even though it’s destroying them, and yet all I can think about is Baby Shouto’s (。･o･｡) face. Anyways what a chapter.
so I have to confess that even though I managed to avoid being caught off-guard by the early leaks, the number of people reblogging my Endeavor posts from earlier this week and using the tag “bnha 301” kind of gave me an inkling that this chapter will include more Tododrama lol. that said, I don’t know anything else about it, so we’re still good spoiler-wise

so wait, I know this is not even the slightest bit important, but are they meeting at Enji’s home or Rei’s? because I always figured that Enji was the one with the super-Japanese aesthetic, but maybe that was Rei’s side of the family all along
(ETA: from what I found during my very brief google search, omiai meetings are often held at fancy hotels or restaurants, so maybe that’s what this is.)
there’s such a period drama feel to this setting. like it’s so outrageously formal fff how can anyone stand this kind of atmosphere though seriously

I mean they’re still stiff af but at least they’re not rigidly sitting in seiza and staring at each other unblinkingly anymore lol. Enji’s actually got his hands in his pockets now. why is this somehow almost cute
oh damn it’s the flowers
Rei seems so subdued and it’s so hard to get any idea of what she’s actually thinking. I want to see her side of this dammit
but anyway, so at least from Enji’s perspective it seems like even though the marriage was arranged and he picked her because of her quirk, he still loved his wife and wanted to do right by her. the fact that he was watching her and noticed that she liked the flowers, and remembered that detail for all these years -- there’s a reason why Horikoshi’s showing us this. we know what’s going to happen later on; we know how much fear and violence and breaking of trust is coming up ahead, and while it may seem like this scene is serving to soften Enji’s character further -- which to be fair it is -- it also helps drive home the full impact of his abuse. that it’s so terrible not only because of the trauma of the abuse itself, but also because of the way it retroactively destroys all of the good things as well. this could have potentially been such a sweet scene, but it’s inescapably tainted by the knowledge of what’s to come, at least for me. and that’s just brutal
anyways, shit. is the whole chapter going to be like this?? feel free to toss in something I can actually make a joke about sometime, Horikoshi

I can’t fucking get over the irony that all this time everyone thought Touya had died because Enji pushed him too far in his training, and it turns out that it’s the opposite -- the tragedy ultimately happened because he didn’t want to push him. but I’m jumping ahead of myself though I guess

also are they just home alone lol or what. “hey Touya, you’re what, like six now?? do us a favor and look after your baby sister for a couple hours for us would you? make sure not to set yourself on fire or anything.” WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG!!
now it’s nighttime and Enji and Rei are arguing, presumably about his decision not to train Touya anymore
whew. okay. so, a couple of things here
1. first of all I think this conclusively shows that Enji really was trying to do the best he could for Touya. he stopped training him as soon as he realized it was hurting him, but Touya was still determined so he tried to make it work anyway, and even visited doctors to try and figure out if there was anything they could do. then, once they were absolutely sure that it wasn’t going to work, he tried multiple times to explain to Touya why they had to stop. he didn’t just abandon him out of the blue, which is really important to note. “no matter how much I tried telling him...”
so yeah, that debunks another common fandom accusation. so by the time he finally makes this decision, which we all know is going to turn out horribly, it’s basically because he’s already tried everything else he could think of. which, by the way, still doesn’t mean he handled this right. but at the very least he was taking Touya’s feelings into account and he was trying, and he didn’t just abruptly toss his son aside (at least not yet)
2. buuuut, then there’s this panel right below all that
which is the other side of it. if he’d just quit like the doctor person advised him to, that would have been the end of it. Touya would still have been upset, but he would have eventually gotten over it and the family would have moved on and possibly even been happy. but what happens next happens because Enji can’t let go. he still has this maddening urge to surpass All Might, and so he and Rei keep having more children, and then Shouto is born, and Enji finally has a kid he can start projecting all of his hysterical ambitions onto once again, and everything starts spiraling out of control soon after
though p.s. none of that is Shouto’s fault though!! he’s one of the few good things to come out of this whole mess and I’m very happy that he exists. the tragedy is that his dad fucking lost his mind over his quirk and fucked everything up. but that’s on him, not Touya or Shouto

My favorite child. The son of a doting japanese woman and a koi Ningyo, Yuki's taken to visiting the world until he's called back to Japan to look after.. his little sister???
Inspiration/ why/ how: mainly influenced by My own taste in characters. Yuki is just the pinnacle of my preferences in characters. Black hair,blue eyes kuuderes- brotherly and responsible. Artsy- not necessarily overly feminine but Yuki isn't necessarily ashamed to do feminine things or wear feminine clothes? Obviously he's my favorite, he's my ideal! Though, he's also a bit more than that. I love japanese culture and it's always a blast to write about him because of his modern japan setting. But he's also a world wanderer so he knows about other cultures too! His whole ocena theme is also something i'm obsessed with- the ocean terrifies me, i have a huge phobia of the abyss, of large bodies of water, of the void and large creatures. But it's also fascinating to me. Yuki's a complex and humane character that i love writing and drawing for.

A friend of mine chooses to call him "funky lil space man". Born on Mars, Rei was found to possess an unusual ability- the ability to dream. A feature thought to be lost to evolution, Rei is taken in under the Dreamer project. Except his dreams aren't anything he's seen before- he dreams of earth..
Sci-fi settings are interesting. I love the play on gravity and i thought of only one way gravity shifting could really apply. Of it was used somewhere that would well, require such a thing to begin with. I also didn't wanna go too crazy w the sci-fi, so i went with mars colonization, which isn't too unrealistic i don't think. I love androgynous designs and Rêve is just like that. I wanted to make a relaxed character who just doesn't really worry about the bigger stuff.

The infamous adrenaline junkie that roams Shibuya. At such a young age, he's already taken to forming a group naming itself 'Yobanashi', in between posting vlogs, they also take out shady yakuza that stain the streets of their precious hometowns
I wanted a cheery oc since i usually only make sad kuuderes. In the end he turned out dark anyway though. Oops. Again, me nerding out about Japan- specifically Japanese fashion and how variated it can be. Yuki's more of a dive into more of the traditional side of japan, whereas Mane is a deep dive into the more wild otherworldly side.

SO i just finished wonder egg priority and i think that with confidence i can say it has been one of my favorite animes like... ever ?? and not even from hyperfixation or obsession over it just... its so fucking real yet so simple in a way that i havent rlly seen shown in any other shows you feel ??
but first i wanna talk about how sexy the art and animation is real quick... HOMIE ITS SO GOOD LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT JUST... serotonin... the characters are all so unique and iconic and fun but not over the top in their designs yknow ??? they seem like regular every day girls but they stand out and theyre all sO CUTE !!!! also i love how the style is like this soft bubbly slice of life lookin stuff with bright happy colors and the most beautiful scenes you could find but they also have the SICKEST fight scenes complete with whimsical animal helpers and terrifying villains and crazy weapons unique to each character. and the animation. god DAMN shawty i am obsessed with everything in this show. i might make a post solely about the art later lol bc i wanna get into the other stuff.
so the themes in the show right ?? it starts just as this cute lil magical girl kinda deal but within the first episode we see that like.. oh damn... thats kinda heavy... tbh i was a little shocked and thought about stopping bc yknow bad mental health BUT i was so intrigued that i had to keep going and i am SO GLAD that i did. because this show just so beautifully discusses all these heavy topics in such an eloquent and artistically expressive way. and also like, , the juxtaposition of the charming childlike vibe with bright colors and 14 yr old girl protagonists against the dark themes of suicide and so much else,, i think is just perfect. bc a lot of heavy animes are more of the seinen genre and have some middle aged dude as a protag or make the entire color palette dim or offer little relief to the pain of these heavy themes right ?? but NO not wonder egg bitches B) because these problems arent just things that ppl face later in life or just problems that need to be talked about among adults or the edgy seinen watching squad,, these are REAL problems that face people of every age, gender etc and i think its awesome that wonder egg addresses that. some may cringe at the thought of their high schooler watching animes that discuss sexual harassment, suicide, abuse, self harm, eating disorders etc,, but in reality it is the most comforting thing i have ever come across and is basically jsut free anime therapy. because not only does wonder egg present these themes to the viewers as something real that happens to all kinds of people (making said people feel heard in a way that maybe they hadnt before), but it also makes sure to vanquish all of these forms of trauma. and the way the trauma is vanquished isnt always beautiful and it isnt always just magically gone with a poof. the struggles of overcoming or living with that sort of thing are shown in such a real and relatable way that addresses every hardship trauma survivors have to go through. and i just. god i cry bro.
oh m y GOD and the lgbtq+ rep in this show ?? like shawty... as soon as i saw episode one i was picking up on some gay/lesbian themes but then again im sapphic and project that a lot so i tend to see that sort of stuff like... everywhere... but NE WAYS... episode ten made me FUKCING CRY BRO LIke i cant believe there was a whole trans character with a whole trans pride hoodie like LKGHKDGH my heart is just so.. so fucking full thinking about him. bc like yeah i know there are trans characters in anime but i feel like theyre always very ambiguous about actually being trans or not or erased or portrayed as a harmful stereotype or theyre constantly misgendered and still refered to as their assigned gender at birth and i hate it. HOWEVEr... Kaoru.. *chefs kiss* it was so amazing to see a character straight up say “yeah im trans” in such a casual yet powerful way bc i personally have never seen that before. and i love love loved how he went into his backstory and talked to momoe about gender bc i think thats what she rlly needed and that it helped her find herself and it makes me so happy oh my god,, and the way they talked about it never seemed forced or like it was the focal point of his existence yknow ?? like yeah he existed to help momoe overcome some of her trauma but he also just existed to be HIM yknow ?? also... personally, i headcanon momoe as a trans girl even though i dont remember it being explicitly stated plus the school scenes of her and stuff would seem like they suggest otherwise ??but,,, SHAWTY THE AMOUNT OF SUBTEXT and her complicated relationship w gender is... something i feel like a cis girl would not go through so harshly yknow ?? with all of the questioning and feeling detached from femininity or feeling like ppl dont see her as an actual girl and only like her as a guy or for her masculine traits,,, but dont take my word on this bc i myself am a cis girl but that was just my take on it as someone in the lgbtq+ community trying to educate myself on the transgender community :) either way,, wonder eggs portrayal of momoe and kaoru and the way that momoe becomes so passionate about expressing herself the way she wants to as a girl is just... good lord im gonna cry its so perfect,,,.so ... i just love this show way too much. i also am honestly super lost about the relationship btwn acca and ura-acca ?? bc i was gonna mention ura-acca as a canonically gay guy bc when i was watching i interpreted ep 11 as him being in love with acca and being jealous of Azusa (bc i mean,, they lived together (i swear to god there was only one bed in that apartment) and had a daughter together and def loved each other and also when Frill said they were husbands and then when ura-acca said he wasnt attracted to azusa but he was def jealous of their relationship ??) but then i saw somewhere that theyre brothers ?? which would make sense ig since they look kinda similar and accas daughter called ura-acca “uncle”.. but at the same time its ANIME SO THEY ALL LOOK SIMILAR and referring to gay couples as siblings is an EXTREMELY common euphemism soooo... IM JUST LOST HERE... but yeah i tried doing research and found different things so i cant say anything for sure >:( however,,, if they are canonically a lil fruity for each other... when frill refered to acca as ura-accas husband i imploded dude you never hear that sort of wording in anime.. but if theyre related i am so sorry.
god this is so much longer than i planned it to be oops but i also love the theme about like.. relying on friends to help carry your weight but at the same time not becoming completely dependent on those friends and using their support to learn how to love yourself and rely on yourself yknow ?? bc that is exactly what healthy friendships look like. bc i think ai sort of had a codependency thing goin on with koito maybe ?? but now she has a whole squad of funky friends that are so so different but all struggle with different kinds of trauma and although they fight over it, they always get through it with each other together. and they push each other no matter what to be the best versions of themselves and they teach other that getting hurt is okay because theyre always gonna be there to pick up the pieces no matter what happens. they can give each other space when they need and adapt to meet each others needs but theyre always able to balance it out with their own needs and thats such a beautiful thing in friendships especially at their age like damn i wish i had that maturity when i was 14 but no all i had was depression. another thing is that through these friendships you get to see all the different sides of each girl; you get to see them being strong or a shining light to their friends when theyre hurting but you also get to see them being hurt and weak and allowing themselves to be on the receiving end of the comfort. their friendships allows them to have weaknesses but it also allows them to highlight their strengths and thrive off of each others. I LOVE FRIENDSHIP DUDE
next i wanna briefly mention some of the themes connected to suicide that ive noticed. a big one is the survivors guilt that ai feels once koito is dead. several times she screams that she wishes she couldve gone with koito and she dreams of a “perfect world” where they committed a double suicide. one of the main reasons for her troubles is that she blames herself for koitos death and feels like it should be her thats dead... but at the same time she feels like too much of a coward to do anything now that koito is gone. she just has all these complex and contradicting feelings that wear away at her in ways that ppl that havent gone through the suicide of a loved one could never imagine. a lot of the times when things like this are portrayed in media i feel like its more in a way thats meant to guilt trip those that have taken their own lives and paint suicide as this selfish sin thats unforgivable but... not only does wonder egg reject that idea and instead portray it as a heartbreaking tragedy with,,, so so many terrible reasons, but it focuses on the feelings of ai separate from koito without blaming her in any way. not once did i feel like the show antagonized koito or that ai blamed koito for doing any of this, but they simply mourned her loss and touched on ais reaction towards the event but separate from koito herself if that makes sense. and i think that discussing survivors guilt without painting koito as the bad guy is something so beautifully done in wonder egg that can really resonate with those that have lost a loved one to suicide and have struggled with these same things.
okay i think this is the last thing ill mention,,, but HOMIE THE PARALLEL UNIVERSE BIT AT THE END. I AM. OBSESSED. i am such a whore for anything about the multiverse okay n e ways...,, not only did this make a super epic trippy ending of season one and add a little bit more magical girl whimsy to the show,, but it had such a powerful message. from the perspective of og ai,, finding out that you killed yourself in another world is... i mean its definitely not a surprise but at the same time it rlly makes you think how close og ai herself couldve been to that point and what decisions led her out of that dark place in her life. if i were in her shoes i would be terrified and id cry bc the thought of going back to such a dark place and actually going through with something like that is my worst fear and probably something that ai fears too. but at the same time,,, think from the perspective of ai two !!! like yeah its true that theres this awful terrible version of ai that dies but theres also a whole version of ai that is a superhero magical girl fighting off monsters to save countless ppls lives !! and she has a badass lizard and a gang of awesome friends !!! at first i was worried that ai two would be jealous of og ai and compare herself to her and feel inferior but like.. THEYRE LITERALLY THE SAME PERSON AND CAPABLE OF THE SAME THINGS !!! and ai two realized that !! just within the span of one episode, she went from the version of ai who took her life,, to the version of ai jumping in front of a friend to take a bullet for them and save their life. and that just inspired THE SHIT OUT OF ME. i think that ai was sent another version of herself to sort of beat her own worst enemy yknow ?? those doubts and fears that shes no good or that shes that same bystander from episode one and that she hasnt changed at all. but getting to interact with her parallel self and see her grow was just what she needed to realize that while yeah sometimes the worst thing can happen and things can be terrible but on the other hand sometimes the most wonderful thing imaginable can happen because she has the power to do either.
so im gonna go ahead and stop rambling bc i got all my thoughts out that i wanted to for this post :D but yeah lol i might make another if i feel like it sometime. long story short: this show is perfect and it is going on my favorite of all times.

hello everyone !! i go by lovey and this is my mess of a bisexual leo, junseo. he’s cool as a cucumber on the outside but on the inside he is a sour pickle lmfao ( at least pickles are tasty imo ). online he’s known as a boy with a high follower count who is seen on the arm of a different pretty person every other weekend because he is b e a u t i f u l ( and maybe seems like a bit of a sl*t ? ). really though they are paying him to be arm candy while they go to fancy dinners and events, oof. if you’d like to find out more about him please read below !! i also have some really lazy plots on my page here.
lim junseo is an only child raised by parents who struggled a lot, but wanted the best for him. they sacrificed their time and wellbeing to work two jobs so he could go to a good school. the goal was for him to get amazing grades so he could further his education, however he absolutely did not do that .... oop. his mission at school was to fit in, and be popular and liked. No One would know about his real home life if he could help it. however, this kind of turned into an obsession with him being the centre of attention and ( seemingly ) rich and popular. he cant be poor if he fits in with the rich kids, right ?
maybe there was a period of his life where he would steal nice clothes so his friends could see him with nice things. but you can’t prove it.
now that he’s an adult he’s somewhat of a social media influencer using the coat tails he’s ridden for pictures for his instagram. there’s definitely an image he’s worked really hard to create for himself, one where he seems wealthy with a lavish lifestyle. it’s kiiiiind of true but also kind of not. he has money but only because he relies on those he escorts to pay for things for him, rather than spending what he earns. his parents think he's studying ... ha
he’s a lil obnoxious and a lil self absorbed but he means well. he kind of inserts himself into places he’s not needed because whether he’s needed or not is irrelevant, because he assumes he’s always wanted. not to mention he cannot stand people ignoring him. ( if he pisses you off ,,,, there’s some fuel for u lmfao ). big head, big heart, means something but says something else because his mouth moves quicker than his brain. just leo things really xoxo.

I am obsessed with both Reiji and Laito, they're my absolute favorites and the ask about them being opposites made me wonder if you had more thoughts on that. Specifically how Laito's facade plays into that notion if it does at all
Oooh shit, I actually don’t know much about Reiji considering he is uh,,,, m’least favorite––I just don’t vibe with his character, but that’s just me personally, don’t take offense to it :’’’) I can see the appeal! But he can be absolutely hilarious at times, especially in tokutens. That man can creatively insult anyone like a motherfucker, and it’s incredibly entertaining. However, I’m not that motivated to learn more about him aside from how he’s presented in other routes I’ve played. Trust me, I am playing his route in HDB because I am a completionist when it comes to games I like, but it’s quite arduous and I haven’t continued it in a while, oops :’)
But, as for my thoughts on the matter, I’ve analyzed them a little bit in an older analysis of mine, which you can find here! Despite me not liking Reiji, I do love his dynamic with Laito a lot (probably my second favorite after Laito’s and Ayato’s dynamic and tied with Subaru and Laito’s dynamic) and Reiji genuinely kinda like... cares about Laito? Like I think Reiji is the closest to a parental figure that Laito (or anyone else in that family) really has, and it’s quite sad when you think about it. Despite Reiji chastising Laito a lot, it’s shown that he does care about him through some indirect actions, even if it may seem cold on the outside. However, I think that’s just Reiji he’s built different. I also love how they troll each other, even if it’s Laito doing most of the trolling.
In that sense, Laito’s facade does play into it a bit, considering most of his wacky sexual antics are due to how his facade “thinks”, and Reiji’s like “tAkE yOur HeiNoUs crimes AcTiViTieS tO yOur RoOm” (I really wanna hear Reiji say “heinous” now omg). However, like Shuu, I do believe Reiji might know something about how Laito just... isn’t himself. If Shuu could read Laito, my bet is that Reiji definitely could too, he's just more of the silent type, and I think that’s good for Laito; in a way. It makes Laito “trust” Reiji more in a sense, and thinks he has him fooled. There’s not much proof of this, so I guess it’s a headcanon, but also just reading in between the lines. Reiji kind of silently watches over his brothers it seems. I’ve heard someone say that Reiji does care for his brothers in one of his VS drama cds, which is really touching. Not surprising, since it is obvious that he does in his own strict way.
When Reiji gave Yui the poison or potion that would kill her in Laito’s MB route, I believe Reiji knew exactly what he was doing. Sure he seemed cold when he was like “yeah Laito, those are tears” and Laito was having a breakdown (since who knows when) when Yui attempted suicide (which I mean, makes sense). I think Reiji got the memo that Laito cares about Yui in his own Laito-esque way and was like “oh dip, this might get Laito out of his shell.” Except Reiji would never say “oh dip” and I might just be beyond reading in between the liens and making headcanons at this point, not sure if that’s exactly “on brand” for Reiji though. So please correct me if I’m wrong, I really don’t know much about him except indirectly.
Sure they’re opposites, but as they say, “opposites attract” (although this isn’t romantic LSD:KFj). I also think that they are pretty similar too; although Reiji is more direct about it, they can both be pretty cunning and manipulative from what I’ve seen. Sure Reiji is more an order giving person––and so is Laito––but Laito’s approach is more snake-like like with blackmail and getting inside Yui’s head etc (again, from what I’ve seen, idk if Reiji has this approach). So that’s why I think their dynamic works so well. They’re opposites, but they have a lot in common. They are both reserved, but Laito is more like “reserved.” He doesn’t come across as such, but he most definitely keeps a ton to himself. Vague lil ass.
Hope that’s what you asked for! I think I went a little bit off the rails so I apologize; if you wanted something different (or if I definitely did not get Reiji’s character right) lmk! This was a fun ask to do, thank you! :)

hello!! i currently have a fic in the works which is a "figure skating au" where 2 male characters become a pair to try and make it to the olympics. although i think it is a beautiful sport and i know a lil of the lingo, i'm a little lost as to the general culture of the sport. (although i know male-male pairs are illegal oop). a general rundown of "need to knows" for a realistic depiction of the skating world would help me greatly, if you're willing and able to provide it! thank you!!!

Small preface here: pairs is the area of skating that I know *the least* about. I’ve also never competed on a professional level. So my knowledge will be limited.
Having said that, I did take skating lessons for 10-ish years, and I’ve been glued to the television for every skating competition I could get my hands on since I was probably about 7 years old. So I’m happy to lend as much knowledge as I possibly can!
It depends what you’re looking for when you say “general culture of the sport” (for example: how are skaters selected/decide to attend what competitions? how prevalently do mental health problems develop in skaters, i.e. eating disorders and anxiety due to high stress, strict diet, and extreme physical exertion? how do skaters get financial endorsements?)
So I’m gonna info dump in a general range of what I think you might need for your fic?? If I totally miss the mark, please feel free to ask more questions! (Even if you just want someone to bounce ideas off of for your fic, my inbox is always open!)
Figure skating is heavily purist.
For a long time, music wasn’t allowed to have lyrics. It could ONLY be instrumental which led to A LOT of classical/ballet type programs (Swan Lake and Romeo & Juliet were - and still are - highly popular). It’s only within the past few years that lyrics were allowed. Many skaters ran with that and they’re pushing the boundaries, forcing figure skating into a new era of creativity and expression through hip hop, rap, country, etc. but judges will, of course, prefer more “traditional” content.
Judges have been known to dock points and/or disqualify you if they believe your costume is too revealing (Adam Rippon talked about this in his book “Beautiful on the Outside”. He was warned, minutes before his performance at a competition, that a judge didn’t like the fact that his shirt had a sheer back and he would be penalized for it if he didn’t fix it).
Your reputation makes a difference
If a skater has a reputation for under-rotating their jumps (where they “finish” the jump by a 1/4 turn on the ice instead of fully rotating in the air), the judges are more likely to review that skater with more scrutiny AND dock more points for under-rotating, whether it’s there or not. And it’s incredibly difficult to shake that reputation.
Skating with injuries is fairly common
Depending on the severity of the injury, some skaters continue to skate instead of taking time off to heal, especially in the middle of a competitive season.
In 2014, Yuzuru Hanyu suffered a concussion after a severe collision during warm-up for the Cup of China. He still skated and won silver.
At the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, Madison Chock (of Chock & Bates) skated with a foot injury.
Body image is an obsession
Eating disorders are rampant in figure skating, across all disciplines. Pairs skater Shen (Shen & Zhao) was required to weigh-in by her coach before skating. Gaining even one pound could cause a weight shift in lifts. The current trend in Russian ladies’ skating requires maintaining strict, low weight in order to be good “flyers” for jumping.
Skaters that have openly discussed their struggles with eating disorders include: Adam Rippon, Yulia Lipnitskaya, and Gabrielle Daleman, to name a very spare few.
Other random tidbits of information:
Sometimes skaters change countries they represent, especially in pairs and ice dance. This usually happens when a country has better opportunities for training/support/financial opportunities.
Skaters don’t always get to choose their partner. Sometimes, coaches delegate partners based on availability, skating style, and a variety of other factors.
Some skaters have sponsors who assist with the financial side of skating. But that mostly happens with the top-tier elite skaters only, not everyone.
Coaches often have a myriad of skaters that they train.
Coaches can double as choreographers, but not always.
To attend the Olympics, skaters are selected based off of their performance during the current season, though other stipulations still play a part. This link has more details.

- and overall you two are lowkey thriving in that department because you end up finishing your work for the week in like two or three days and have the rest of the time to just VIBE
- a/n y'all i seriously recommend actually doing that like i get a SUPER big workload at the beginning of the week and as soon as i can i just ZOOOOOM and try to get it all knocked out and it's honestly really helpful
- obviously this can be really difficult for people who aren't self motivated and maybe depressed but i would just try!! if you can!! okay note over BACK TO THE SHITS N GIGGLES

- i don't really have anything else to say but
- overall being quarantined with peter and the team is really nice and the vibes are THERE
