The aspec club at my school is 80% trans/nonbinary so I’m curious

I know this sounds weird but I think I’m a non-SAM aroace. Like, the two identities feel like one and the same to me, but I don’t prefer one over the other in order to be seen as either “non-Sam aro” or “non-Sam ace”. It’s just one thing to me and I end up using ace, aro, and aroace in different spaces depending on which is most relevant. But there is no split to me and I only use aroace so others can know that I’m both. But it sounds as weird to me as having to say I’m Bibi if I was bisexual and biromantic...

Do you have to be really into sex to be alloaro? This might seem ignorant, so sorry. I just, I might be alloaro. I am definitely aromantic. Been going by nonSAM aro, but like the sexual attraction is there. I do like sex, just more in theory than practice.

Also what advice do you have for questioning alloaros?

Nope! Your view on sex and the way you experience attraction can be very different. For me personally, I’m not super into sex—a lot of people think I’m asexual, honestly. Even before they realize I’m aro. But I know I’m aroallo because I experience sexual attraction the way other allos do. It’s mostly what you’re attracted to rather than what you like doing, because if you think about it, there are plenty of allosexual people who get nervous about sex or who have a lower sex drive. But again, labels are also bullshit, so define yourself however you want. :)

As for advice, I say don’t let people bring you down or tell you what you are. A lot of aroallo people run into the problem of being seen as predatory because they don’t experience romance the same way other people do (if at all). However, on the other side of the coin, you may find people questioning your aroallo identity because you’re not a very overtly sexual person (like me). Don’t let those people get in your head either. Ground yourself in whatever your identity is and live your truth! It sounds stupid, but it really helps a lot.

2 {Least favourite thing}: N/A but if we had to choose anything it would be the way the humanity ending makes them do a 180 like that, but that goes more into the unpopular opinion thing. They would not get rid of the demons, those are their friends

5 {OTP} : Can we count alterous relationships, I’m counting alterous relationships. We view them as nonSAM aromantic but really enamoured with the idea of romance and feeling that deeply so AoShu is nice for that intensity of connection and understanding whilst knowing it’s not and will never be romantic.

6 {nOTP}: I don’t really know I don’t think much about it

7 {Headcanon}: Under the suit the Nahobino form is a heavily patterned ball jointed doll, with the patterns flowing in an etherial blue glass type way. It makes soft glass clinking noises too but the suit muffles them so they’re only audible when not in it. It looks like a storm is always going on in there but no one can tell if the patterns actually move or not

Outside the Nahobino, the protagonist has two expressions { •_• and :} } because he struggles to get his face to move right, he’s also kind of clumsy for a similar reason but not in the ‘I’m going to fall over’ way in the ‘no one can know I can’t walk right’ way. In the Nahobino he becomes obsessed with being able to move *right* and starts trying to make as many expressions as possible to figure them out

He says it’s an attempt to ‘transfer over the skill’ but because the Nahobino is half robot it really doesn’t work

He also gets intrigued by how much power and emotion he can put into his voice in Nahobino form I don’t think he’s normally able to. It can go too far and has made a few demon negotiations end badly though, but he keeps trying because it’s such a new concept to him

2. Where do you fit in the aro community (ex, alloaro / aroace / nonSAM aro / etc)?

Atm nonSAM aro feels most accurate but I also say anything from Aspec or Queer to AroAce when it comes to people I know offline (cause sometimes explaining things when I'm already exhausted from existing in public is too much or I just don't need them to know anything beyond me not being allocishet.)

6. What is your favourite part about being aromantic?

My favorite part of being aro is the tranquility that I've found in my identity and my existence within it. Since I've accepted my armanticism I've been able to really take a look at my life and make sure I was/am comfortable with it. I'm still working on it, but I feel much more at home in my own skin than before and I have the aro community here to thank for a good part of that.

I'm so so so so tired of the SAM now being the default in the community. I've bottled it up bc it's not the majority opinion and we're all tired of being erased but a post going around rn brought it all back up and I wanted to vent. It's just sum1 expressing frustration that canon ace characters that also lack romantic attraction aren't instead called aroace, which I understand but man. It had almost a thousand notes with every1 agreeing but my only thought was that if I made a nonsam aspect character, would that be considered bad rep to most of the aspec community? If they lacked any attraction but was just aro like me, would I just be hurting my community more? I feel like the way we approach our identities changed after all the exclus shit and now I almost feel I don't belong or. somthing. Sorry if that's guilt trippy, I don't mean it to at all. We're barely acknowledged, so I get it but idk. The most I see nonsams talked abt is when sum1 says not to forget us... but then non of the ways ppl talk reflect it if that makes sense? It's still treated as if u have to be aroallo or alloace or aroace and tagging a post abt sexual attraction as aro or romantic as ace is bad, even if it applies for u. On ADoV ppl posted abt how much it sucks 2 see them tagged as aromantic, even tho for me it was really really nice :( I like celebrating ace days as a nonsam aro, it's not quite MY day but it's close. And on aro days the tag is full of ppl reminding us not to mention or tag asexuality too. I just wish we could go back to the aro and ace having blurry boundaries w/out necessarily being aroace yknow? There's so much focus on separating now that those of us that can't are just left behind. Again. But on the other hand as an aro I know we're all sick of erasure so I get us being more defensive lol.
