You sigh as you stare blankly to the ceiling in your hospital room. Deciding either to sing another sing off one of your playlist.

You frown at the pain in your head making you feel the bandage around your head, whilst also being annoyed of the EKG machine beeping. It's been nearly a week, since the incident. A week since your ex teammate, ex captain, your friend put you here. The thought of Millie sent mixed emotions in you, Millie always looked out for you and looked after you but that night she nearly killed you, on purpose or not!. You started to tighten the hold on your bed's support bars and breath deeply, every time you thought of Lucy or Millie you would start to shake but more violently when it was Millie. You started to violently shake a bit but managed to recompose yourself

You haven't watched it back, you didn't want to see what happened or the aftermath. All you were told was you were barged into the goal post created a very bad laceration on your head. You were taken to the local hospital while the game continued, the good news Japan won! Bad News you are out for the rest of the cup. You shook the thought as you sighed and grabbed your phone and sat up.

Ever since that night, your phone was crazy. Tweets, tags, mentions, dms, emails from fans, friends, the Barcalona Women and Men.........Keira, Lucy.....Bright. You couldn't open them, you just got so angry, sad, anxious.......hurt that you just wanted to avoid it as it was too much.

You scrolled down and read throught the messages you saw earlier that made you smile.

Yui sending you a video of the team wishing you well before it wad posted on social media.

Fran Kirby sending you clips of her pets and being goofy

Mapi Leon trying her best to find out what hospital you are in

Gundegun sending you messages of encouragement

Sam and Erin also sending you a get well video

Mentions on many of your friends and Fan stories also

One that you made you smile was Mary Earps. She posted a picture of your free kick you scored and simply wrote

"The most challenging opponent I have ever faced, Can't wait to face off again. #TheGoat"

Even though you had faced Mary countless times and never chatted except from handshakes, you both had massive respect for each other.

You then got a new tag from the Barcelona account, you clicked on the notification and waited for it too load as you clicked to video to play the sound also

The first face was Alexia making you smile to see your captain

"Hey little one! Hope you are feeling better! We are missing you, you are a strong human and have always brighten up our days. so hurry and recover so we can make more memories and goals together!"

The next was the Barcelona manager Jonatan Giráldez

"Hey F/N, we are eagerly waiting your return. The ambiance in the team can be seen, the girls and the staff are missing your presence and so am i!. Get better soon so we can have an amazing season"

Next was Mapi

"Hey F/N!!! I'm so happy to hear you are safe and recovering, i know how hard it is being stuck in a bed not being able to do what you love and help the team out. From the first day i met you till now i can say i am so proud of you! so is the team, the Barca fans and your country, Get well soon Little One!"

It would show so many of your friends, from Rolfo to Paredes to Patricia to Raphinha

then it showed the entire Boy and Girl youth teams. You always showed them support and help them when you could.

"GET WELL SOON L/N" They shouted as they cheered and some held little signs in Spanish, understanding some and some not it warmed your heart.

The next person

*EKG beeps slightly quicken

"F/N, I hope you are feeling ok"

You would start to shift a bit with a uneasy feeling in your stomach as you looked at Keira Walsh's face.

"I want to thank you for giving us the tough task of going against you and Japan, you were amazing and you should feel proud. Also i don't think you heard me on the pitch, But i am sorry if i hurt you in that tackle." You would feel the slight pain in your hip as she said it. You weren't mad at her, tackles happen but you just felt hurt on how she acted about it, that's what hurt "This season is going to be a good one and i am determined to break the number of goals and assist between us last year! Proud of you, see you soon!" You somewhat was happy but also sad thinking about her actions on the pitch.

The next person would show up

*EKG beeps quicken

Then you would start to shake and try to take a deep breath

*Beep Beep*

"Hey Little One"

You would start to feel sweat on your brow

*Beep Beep*

"I'm so sorry, i couldnt see you after the match"

Your lip started to quiver and jaw started to shake

*Beep Beep*

"But i want you to know tha-"

you closed the the app and the phone as you would cover your eyes fighting back the tears that were trying you creep out. you placed the other hand on your chest and began to breath slowly and deeply as the sounds of the EKG machine beeps would slow.

You placed your phone back down and looked out to the window to blossom leaves falling and calmed you. You then put on your ear buds and played the song "Beautiful" by Eminem

you would fall into more into your bed as you let Marshals words into your mind, comforting you and making you feel at peace.

Forgetting the face you saw on the the post a few moments ago that sent you into a panic.

Im gay

It has been a week since I kissed a girl for the first time. I couldn't get it out of my head.

I only did it for a dare, if I'm being honest. I have wanted to kiss a girl for a long time now.

I don't get what I'm feeling. I have had multiple boyfriends, but I've never felt in love. They have felt more like friends than a boyfriend, but when it comes to girls, I feel more attracted to them, and it's kind of scary to me because I can't be...

"Y/n!"" I snap out of my daydream and see a few of the team members at the door saying, "Come on, or we are going to be late to training."

I get up and walk out. The few that were waiting at the door run out to the pitch to not get the wrong form. Emma I walk,

I know I probably should run , but my head is so loud and busy trying to figure shit out that I don't give a shit if I get shouted at, "y/n hurry up." I jog to the pitch, where everyone is sent off to do the stuff they have to do.

But Emma asks to speak with me, "Lilly, are you okay? You normally are one of the first to be here, and you have been zoning out a lot." looking down at the ground, then pass Emma. "I'm good, all good, nothing to worry about."

She looks at me a bit worried. "You can tell me anything if you want to; you know where to find me or one of the others." I nod my head and join the rest of the players.

We have been out here for a bit now. We are in 4s and are passing the ball. I'm not really listening to them. I'm thinking about my life. I think no. I know I like women and not men.

But I'm scared to say it out loud. I know I can trust the girls. I mean, I know they won't have anything to say because some of them are in relationships with each other.

I think it's because if I say it out loud, it makes it real. I don't know if I want it to be.

3 days later

We are on the bus to Manchester. We are playing at Old Trafford. I'm sitting in a seat next to Guro Magdalena Pernille, and to my left is Sam. Lauren Millie and Fran

She looks at Pernille and Magda says, "What were you thinking about?" I lean my head back on the chair and look at them .

"Nothing interesting." looking out the window, putting my headphones on, and listen to music .

We get to the place we are staying at. And go to our rooms. We were lucky to get one each.

I decided I'm going to tell somebody. Now I don't know who I am going to tell . I get up and go out of my room. walking to room 125. It was the room Magda and Pernille were staying in. Standing out there for about 5 minutes, then knocking on the door.

I hear moving from inside as the door opens. Magda is standing in front of me. I must have looked sick. "Y/n, are you ok? You look sick." staying quiet for a minute. "Hey, err, can I come inside please? I need to tell you something."

She looks worried and opens the door fully. going in and see Pernille sitting on the bed on her phone. She looks up and sees me. She must have got the feeling that I was here to say something.

Magda sits next to her. I pace back and forth. letting a few tears fall. I hear one of them get up. "Y/n, what's wrong? What do you need to tell us?"

The person who now I know is Magda. Sits me down on the bed. "All of this just because I went to a party.

There was silence for a minute. "What happened because of a party?" looking at them then I lay back on the bed

"I went to a party where we were playing truth or dare, and I picked dare, and I was dared to kiss someone. The person got to pick who I have had boyfriends in the past, and I've not felt anything from them; they felt more like a friend than a person I was meant to love. The person dared me to kiss a girl, so I did, but when I did, it hit me that the reason I didn't feel in love with the boys I dated was because I liked girls, but I don't want to because I will lose my family if I tell them or anyone else."

I was having a full-blown panic attack. I can't believe I had just said that. Omg, I had actually told someone. No, I had told two people. I felt their arms wrap around me I just brack down. I knew my life would never truly be the same now. I know that I will be kicked out of the family. I know that new people were going to look at me differently.

But I know I was definitely going to be happy. For the first time in my life .

In college AU by the time you and Nai meet you both are young (obviously, you’re in college, duh) and you’re both not super experienced in romance so jealousy is like mildly new territory (Nai especially LMAO) so when he feels a pang in his chest when you’re bantering with Wolfwood on a side that’s a bit too friendly for his liking?

Nick’s arm is slung around you as he tries to take a selfie with Meryl’s Polaroid, the girl attempting to jump to reach it as Milly observes. Vash is attempting to calm the situation- ever the peacemaker.

You’re laughing and amused all the while, smile painting your lips as you pose for a photo. You’re so happy with them it’s almost aggravating, ugh. Can you all just take it outside of the apartment? Nai has to hide away in his room, Snuggie wrapped around him in his little grove when you’re all here. A scowl is apparent as he scoffs, moving to his room with a few snide remarks muttered under his breath. He won’t ruin his brother’s fun though, he’s had trouble making friends in the past. So not to say he loathes you all, rather… you’re not preferable choice in company.

That’s what helps him sleep at night (when he does choose to sleep, at least).

In reality: does Wolfwood have a crush on you? No. You guys are just friends that mess around and chill out. But why should Nai care? You’re just another one of Vash’s friends who he happens to study with on occasion. That is all. All it will ever be.

He attempts to hide his glare as he stands and walks towards his room.

NOW JEALOUS READER?? Oo ok so so

Nai is a tennis champion, both him and Vash are practically campus celebrities. Both handsome, single, athletic, smart- Vash is well known and liked by everyone.

Nai though? HAH. Haha you’re funny. He’s well known. Respected enough. But he’s made it plenty clear kegstands and partying into the ungodly hours of night on a fucking Tuesday isn’t really his cup of tea. In fact it’s not even a cup at his table. (In this hypothetical cup scenario).

People oftentimes throw themselves at him, flocking to the handsome guy who’s far too beautiful to be human, tone and leaned muscle with a sharp jaw and cunning remarks. This girl was no different.

You knew of her, she was far more bold than you and was a relatively good student. Seemed nice enough.

You couldn’t hold it against her to take a liking to Knives as her hips swayed, eyes bright and flickering up to his. Normally, Nai wouldn’t go to the cafeteria, however Vash had wanted to grab a snack from a friend who worked here (they had donuts today) (curse him and his sweet tooth, ugh)

You sat with some other friends of yours, checking your phone for any notifications before turning to see her chatting with him. With his face away from you, you couldn’t see his obvious disinterest, although he was presumably like that with everyone, right? You have no idea why you’re watching so intently for someone who you can hardly call an acquaintance- he’s just a guy you sometimes exchange notes with.

Something unpleasant settles in your chest as your eyebrows furrow, looking down to your phone once more to forcefully distract yourself. It’s weird to stare like that, ahem.

And maybe you feel a tinge of guilt as he brushes past her to Vash, who’s 3 doughnuts richer now that his friend gave him “the goods”, a bead of something swelling in your chest.

Vash is perceptive as always.

He says nothing though, following Nai who takes brisk strides once more out of the noisy cafeteria, head almost buzzing from how overwhelming the noise can get for both of them.

Ok so a bit into my brain for the doctor who au:

Obviously all the different iterations of vash we have seen so far are his different regenerations, 98 is one of the youngest regens and therefore seems way goofier. I think the different stages of max can be different regens, like the spilt black and blonde to all black hair are 2 different regens. And stamp is the most recent and he’s depressed. And he’s The Stampede, vash has a gallifreyan name built into his name so like pop off.

Wolfwood I want to be the Jack character, having known and traveled with vash, getting killed, being brought back and then getting stuck like that. I like the idea of him being from the future and being a time agent too since jacks backstory does involve having a brother so I think he slots into that role p nicely.

So Meryl I had a very fun idea for, stamp Meryl is vashs newest companion and he thinks she looks familiar but doesn’t look that much into it because he’s hurting rn and just wants to not be alone. Meryl grew up on stories from her grandmother of space fairing adventures fighting aliens and saving people, her grandmother who was an insurance agent later became a journalist and inspired her to do so. Yeah her grandma is 98/ max Meryl, but I’m gonna change her name to Myrtle for the sake of not having 2 Meryl’s but Meryl is like the spitting image of her grandma as that happens sometimes, but she is shorter and styles herself differently. She’s in college to be a journalist before getting swept up in the stampede.

So 98/ max Meryl aka Myrtle did the whole bad wolf thing and is the reason woowoo is now immortal, it was an oopsie ok. But Myrtle, woowoo, and Vash were just besties, no romantic feelings here (because I want the stamp trio to be the ones for that and imagine dating a guy your grandma also dated that’s fucking awkward) ((plus I read 98/max more platonic between vash and Meryl vs. stampede where they feel more romantically inclined))

Nai I was going back and forth on keeping him as The Master or making him The Lord since he’s constantly referred to as lord knives and shit. But yeah he’s taking the place of the master here WITH NO SUBTEXT WE ARE NOT DOING INCEST HERE. They simply both looked into the time vortex and got fucked up in different ways with vash running and never stopping and nai going off the deep end, though now the ending of the time war is going to be a little different.

Rem is here but she is taking form as the tardis, I love the episode where the doctor gets to meet the tardis, OBVIOUSLY NOTHING HERE IS ROMANTIC EITHER THE TARDIS IS MOM-ING HIM HERE, it’s so bitter sweet and makes me sob. That means he’s not going to call her sexy I hope we are all ok with that shdhdbfjdbdhbr.

Roberto is gonna be a companion and also happens to be Milly’s uncle and the journalist Meryl is shadowing. He gets tied up into all of this when meryl comes back from an adventure and accidentally brings some of it with her to him and he’s kind forced to come along. Will he die? Good question.

Milly is Meryl’s college roommate and I’ll have her join the crew later on, kind of like in stampede how we haven’t seen her yet but she’ll be on the tardis you better believe it.

Brad and luida are older companions that are now apart of unit and help vash when he needs it, think like Martha and Mickey types but again more parental toward the doctor, left on their own and still help when they can.

Let’s talk about the fucky stuff I wanna do with timelord twins:

Vash and Nai are special since they are twins, they are constant reflections of each other and always regenerate together, as if there were some cosmic force making sure they were never out of sync, they’re always fatally wounded at the same time. They can also feel one another, like a tether that constantly connects them, they don’t just automatically know where the other is but they can always feel the other’s presence as if they were standing side by side at all times.

Now the time war:

In my mind Vash would be fully black hair trimax for this regen (outfit would be different but I would need a post to go over all the fits) and Nai would be almost fully black hair but with that little tuft of blonde. Nai convinces Vash that he just wants the war to end, that he didn’t want to be a soldier fighting in this endless war, and he needs vash to tell his where the vault is and help him get in there because there is something in there that can save them all, Vash at his wits end believes Nai and gets him in and they take the moment, Nai convinces Vash to wait in his tardis for him but the conscious of the machine appears to Vash and not Nai in an attempt to stop Nai, Vash and Nai fight, Nai cuts off his arm and gets to the machine before Vash and the moment is used, Vash (who’s punishment if he uses the machine is to live) ends up in the tardis on the verge of regeneration watching as both Gallifrey and Skaro are destroyed. And as he begins to regenerate he can’t feel Nai anymore. He regens into stamp Vash, though his arm is still missing, like a reminder, every scar he earned in the war as well still marking his body and for the first time in his life he is truly alone. And when he looks in the mirror he sees that his eye color is now that of his brothers, gone is his typical seafoam green, now they are frighteningly blue.

Anyway I will be writing a fic sooooooooooo if y’all wanna know more like outfits and timeline stuff I’d be down to share.

I would love to say that it took me this long to get to the final three chapters because I was afraid of what would come, but the truth is I was just very very tired.

Stream-of-consciousness thoughts for TriMax Vol. 12, Chapters 7-9 below.

Chapter 7: Run, Livio, Run

Uh, oh. I'm looking forward to seeing Livio again, but I don't want him to be in any real danger. I know he doesn't mind, but that's actually part of the problem right now.

It's a good thing Milly and Meryl remain miraculously unaffected by this smoke somehow, even though it's messing with the soldiers so much.

Oh, no! Thomas down! Milly down!

Quick shout-out to the Thomas's spiky dinosaur tail.

OMG they make yipping noises. I had no idea.

Ugh, this could be bad. Meryl is too small to carry Milly away from the scene on her own, and it looks like Milly hit her head pretty good.

Meanwhile, Vash has his hands busy with his dumbass brother.

Ugh, his hair is sooooo dark now....

Knives, buddy, have you seen yourself in a mirror yet? You're more amorphous blob than singular being at this point. You should get that checked out. By a professional. Maybe Conra--oh, wait.

Dude, that's not the face you make when you realize the brother you love so much is basically about to die. It is, however, the face you make when you're about to score a resounding victory over your sibling.

Ugh, babygirl. You're a mess, babygirl. Why....

Hahahahaha, Livio's so awkward. How long has it been since he's had a "normal" interaction with someone else? For that matter, this isn't exactly normal. He's probably overthinking the social aspect and might need to spare more brain power to the escaping aspect.

Livio's like, "Here. Have a military-grade bomb door. I'll just set this up for you right here... and I'm off! See ya in a bit!"

There we go. He's switching over into combat mode, not gonna worry about the social aspect. That's for someone else.

The heck?! He just went straight over the top of the door!

Smart. He didn't actually need any of them to say anything. He just needed a few people to look in the right direction.

Ugh, Vash. I wish I could tell you there is another way, but if there is, I can't see it. It requires Knives doing things Knives isn't prone to doing, so things are looking very, very grim. Maybe Chronica and her buddies can somehow offer some aid... if they can just figure out what's going on.

Chapter 8: Lights

Ooh, Chronica's peeking into Domina. Plants are weird, yo.

It looks a bit messy in there, even by Plant standards.

Vash's mini-gates are scaring the hell out of the Earth fleet. I don't think Knives realizes just how dangerous they are... or how crazy Vash's precision has been in using them.

Oh, seems he has some idea.

Noooo! Vash!

I don't think "disappointed" is a strong enough word for whatever Vash might feel losing to Knives here. You know... assuming he has enough of anything left in himself to feel.

Oh, Knives is implying Vash is just unconscious. That's... good. I think.

Huh, I need to save this shot of Livio for a project I want to work on. I honestly didn't think I'd find a manga panel of him in this kind of pose. It'll be a perfect reference.

I mean, he already commandeered another military-grade metal door for his own purposes, so I don't think this one stands much of a chance. Especially if the primary barring mechanism is on the OUTSIDE.

Shout-out to his EoM-themed twin gun holsters. Not sure how he hides those monster fangs in there, but whatever. They look cool.

Vash looks none too happy. Which makes sense considering the last time he faced off with Legato. Knives, on the other hand, looks like he genuinely doesn't know what to make of all this.

Chapter 9: Two People Against The World

Yusssss, Legato backstory! I've been waiting for this traumafest!

Note: While having a traumafest backstory might help explain one's monstrous actions, it does not, in fact, excuse them, especially as one matures into adulthood and (theoretically) gains a better understanding of action and consequence. The world is so much bigger than our trauma. Now back to your regularly scheduled reaction post.

Ah, I guess Legato and Vash did have ample time to get to know each other over those seven months.

The funny thing about this title is, assuming it refers to Legato and Knives, it's definitely Legato's perspective. I've seen people spell out some pretty decent evidence that Knives cares for Legato more than he admits, but the fact of the matter is Knives doesn't admit it. Knives repeatedly treats their relationship with a level of disregard that suggests no matter how much he values Legato, he's nowhere near admitting it enough to himself to allow room for thinking something like it's the two of them against the world. Gods, I could write essays on the dynamic between two. I adore how much there is to analyze with Legato and Knives. I love how it's Wolfwood and Vash taken to quite possibly the worst extreme.

Heh. Vash looks... almost relieved. And Legato looks almost peaceful here. I wonder if perhaps they reached some sort of understanding, as unlikely as that seems.

Oh, I thought Chronica was still in space. Looks like she's making this personal.

Ah, Legato.... This isn't even him seeking revenge. This is him seeking justice. He doesn't want them to pay. He wants them to experience what he himself experienced at their hands so they know. Gonna be honest, I can't fault him for this, even knowing that there were probably plenty among those who "stood by and did nothing" who lacked the power to do anything even if they were even aware of the problem.

Ugh, gut wounds hurt so bad, too....

Ok, so this guy's a monster, but for as unrealistic as it is, I love that you can tell so much about him simply by his character design. First, he's someone in power. Money... authority... probably both. He stands on a rich carpet in a fine suit with (what I can only assume is) a trendy hat while Legato is spread out naked, vulnerable, humiliated. Second, for all his power, he's a small man. It's a bit of... height-ism, I guess? Nightow is using it to show that regardless of what else this man has, he's not actually someone who's worth looking up to. And third, he's just... kinda gross. His proportions are distorted and weird with demon eyes and sex doll mouth and he just gives me creep vibes just looking at him.

Ugh, this is a common thing with abusers, though. They can get caught up in this sort of self-delusion that whatever they're doing is right and good, that their victims benefit from it or like it or even love it despite ALL signs to the contrary. And having ANY clear sign that, no, their action was NOT acceptable, any action from their victim that even has the possibility of allowing the victim to go free, to leave the abuser's "kindness," is seen as complete and utter betrayal. And then, after suitable punishment has been meted out, they may "forgive" the victim by allowing them to fall back into the abuse cycle... often while occasionally bringing up the failed escape attempt to excuse more extreme behavior toward the victim or to demoralize their victim and keep them in place.

Of course this guy would be turned on by the possibility of getting to punish Legato.

Legato's such a little guy here, too...

Yeah, there's no way something like that happening at such a moment wouldn't seem like an act of god to him. Nevermind that it was probably pure chance and the horrible, unnatural pose he was forced into that saved him.

Yeah, I don't blame him for this, either.

Ah, Knives really didn't intend this.

Legato really piqued Knives' curiosity here, first by surviving, second by daring to approach him, and third by not showing the least bit of concern that Knives might lob his head off in an instant, and instead asking to serve him.

I really can't get over how small he is here. Even if he was the type to take a bit to fill out, he doesn't look older than 15 here... and that's being generous.

Honestly, living one's whole life (or the vast majority of it) the way Legato did would leave little space for hopes and dreams to grow. It's hard to have even the smallest ambitions when all you've ever known is what it is to be an object used by others.

Heh, he finally smiles, and it's at the thought that it's all going to end.

I wonder what about this made Knives stay his hand. It's not simple respect for Legato's power. Perhaps he sees some measure of himself (or even Vash) in Legato here, in that time after they found Tesla and everything seemed meaningless and they just wanted it all to end.

Man, they didn't even see fit to give him a name. He was just a toy to them. Makes me sick.

In retrospect, implying I was looking forward to this chapter seems like a bit of a disservice to it. I had enough spoilers to know how dark it would get, but it's different reading it. I... still don't think it excuses a lot of what he does. But it does make me wish all the more that he'd had opportunities to know good people. If it had been Vash who had saved him instead of Knives... or even Wolfwood or the Eye of Michael... his life would be so very different, and probably for the better. He deserves better than he's ever got. He's endured enough.

vash 2 me would love wearing makeup and dresses occasionally. but usually like. like he loves doing makeovers with friends as a girls night kinda thang. he loves letting a group of children attempt to braid his hair and paint his nails. its like a social thing for him. he would love doing drag performances. but i dont think he would really care for it just like, for himself. like i cant really see him putting on makeup by himself in the morning. like i said its more of a social thing, he uses it to bond with others, ie makeovers and such. he only learns how to do decent makeup so he can participate in these social events. grah imagining younger vash seeing a group of young women talking about makeup together and he very shyly asks if they could maybe help him learn? and they all get SO excited, invite him to one of their houses and they all sit in a circle showing him the basics and giving him advice and letting him practice on them for the night. and hes SO happy, cause not only did he get to befriend these nice strangers, but also now he has this knowledge that he can use in the future to befriend MORE people. grahh i just think about vash being invited to girls nights so so much he's an honorary girl. esp for meryl and milly. m&m and vash having a girls night one day, hanging out in m&m's hotel room with face masks and snacks and painting eachother's nails. wolfwood knocking on the door looking for vash and seeing them all like this. he makes fun of them a little but u can tell his heart isnt in it and hes actually a little hurt that he didnt get invited. milly excitedly asks mr priest, would you like to join us? youre always welcome to! and he thinks he should decline and go find something else to do for the night but all three of them are looking at him hopefully with their big puppy eyes so he sighs and goes alright alright. lemme in here. meryl paints his nails black with little fancy white crosses on his middle fingers and he ends up liking it so much he keeps borrowing her black nail polish all the time, until one day she gives him a brand new bottle and tells him to keep it, for whenever theyre not traveling together. vash and milly do his makeup and at first he's kinda huffy and tells them not to make him look like a clown, expecting them to go nuts with it. but then when theyre done he sees himself in the mirror with just some lip gloss, mascara and eyeliner and hes like wait a minute. this is actually pretty good... basically m&m plus vash introducing ww to the wonderful world of being low-effort gnc and changing his life. although i do think when he was a kiddo he totally let the girls at hopeland give him makeovers, but he acted all huffy about it cause he thought he was supposed to. but really he just loved how happy it made them so he never put up TOO much of a fight when they would ask. n when m&m plus vash invite him into their girls night it reminds him so much of his sisters at hopeland doing the same to him and it makes him kinda nostalgic and fond. and hes happy that even though he cant see his old family and he misses them like crazy, hes thankful that hes got a new little family with him right here. ok this got away from me big time but its okay you all already know im insane and love to ramble. okay

Summary: Reader, their boyfriend Eddie Munson and two best friends Steve and Robin play Never have I ever with a twist and secrets get spilled.

By the time we go back out to join everyone, we find Robin and Steve sipping nearly empty beers on the couch. Dumb and dumber nowhere to be seen. Turns out Beth got embarrassed so they dipped.

Without turning around to face me, I hear Steve say “You two are officially the worst wing women in history”

“Hey, I didn’t do anything!” Robin snapped back.

“Exactly! That’s the problem. You two are better when you put your heads together. You should have been helping her!”

Eddie walked over to the kitchen to grab some beers from the fridge. I started to quietly work my way over to the other couch.

Then Steve turns toward the kitchen and points a finger “And you, Munson!”

He freezes, juggling 4 beers in his hands. “What did I do, man?”

“Nothing! That’s the issue! I’m convinced you all want me to die alone.”

Eddie walks over to Steve, managing to move all the bottles into the crook of an elbow so he can put a hand on Steve’s shoulder.

“I’m sorry it didn’t work out with Mary, dude. Cold one to drown your sorrows?”

Steve nods and grabs one.

Robin snorts, “Her name was Milly!”

I could tell right away Robin was drunk. She always had this child-like giggle and shit eating grin after a few too many. I loved drunk Robin though.( A little too much, clearly.)

“No, It was...” he pauses a moment then laughs. “Shit, I don’t even remember anymore,” then takes a long swig of his drink.

Eddie laughs and starts walking over to me, tossing a drink to Robin on the way, then to me before sitting on the couch next to me and putting his arm around my shoulder. I took a long sip and leaned into his touch.

“You know what will make this night all better? Never have I ever!” Robin announced with a grin.

“Ok, now I know you’ve had too much if you’re suggesting a drinking game,” Steve says while reaching over to take her beer away from her but her reflexes were too quick.

“I’m not drunk. I may be a little bit tipsy but that’s it. You owe me some fun after this shit-show, Steve”

“I concur, “ I chime in, reaching over to clink my drink with Robin’s.

“Fine. Fuck it,” Steve says taking another swig.

I look over at Eddie and he just shrugs. “I don’t care what we do as long as I get to drink but...” he trails off, making his way off the couch,” we’re doing it the right way.”

He points both his fingers in the air theatrically and skips back into the kitchen like a hobbit getting his second breakfast. Gods, this man was such an adorable little dork. I can’t believe he’s mine.

He goes to the kitchen again and comes back with 4 shot glasses and a bottle of whiskey.

“Dude, my dad will kill me!” Steve exclaims.

“Just fill it with a little bit of water. He won't even notice. This isn’t even the top shelf kind. We’re good.”

Eddie starts to fill the shot glasses. “Ok, for every finger you put down, you have to take a sip of your beer. If you run out of a whole hand, you take a shot. Once all the shots are done, the game is over and we’ll all be pleasantly toasted.” He explains with a bow and a shit-eating grin. His dungeon master ways clearly didn’t just stay within the confines of the Hellfire Club.

“Oh, I’m so in!” Robin says leaning forward, eyes wide with excitement, “mostly because I know you guys will be drinking those shots and not me.”

“Oh, yeah little miss innocent over here” Steve Mocks, pointing his thumb at her.

Eddie returns to the couch. “Ok, princess, you go first.”

“Shit, ok. Umm never have I ever failed 12th grade twice” I said trying to stifle my laugh.

“That’s a low fucking blow, man” Eddie says before taking a sip with one hand and slipping the other one under my ass to pinch it.

“Ouch!” I yelped.

“Ok, my turn.” Robin chimes in. “Never have I ever kissed Eddie.”

I go to drink my drink when Eddie interjects. “That’s not exactly true, Robin"

Steve and I snap our heads to look at Robin. I can feel my blood boiling.

Robin looks shocked and confused. “What are you talking about?”

I look over at Eddie and I swear smoke must be coming out of my ears. “Someone better start explaining real fucking quick.”

Robin starts to stutter and she looks genuinely upset, “I honestly have no idea what he’s talking about.”

“God, why does no one ever fucking remember me?” Eddie exclaims, dramatically dragging his fingers over his face and into his hair. “It was during band camp in middle school. 7 minutes in heaven?” He looks at her with raised eyebrows, impatiently waiting to see if it starts to ring a bell.

“That was you!?” Robin exclaims with complete shock, her hand smacking over her mouth. “I tried to block out that memory. That whole night was so humiliating and very affirming that I was into girls...” She trails off then realizes she inadvertently knocked Eddie. “No offense!”

“None taken, sweetheart” he shrugs and lets out a half-hearted laugh.

I was able to relax my shoulders and unclench my fists after hearing the story. Friends hooking up with my boyfriend was a sore spot for me. When I left my old school before Hawkins, my best friend and boyfriend ended up in a relationship together almost immediately. Eddie was a saint for dealing with my trust issues from that. That combined with his baggage, it was no wonder we were like two bulls in a china shop whenever we were together. Who would have thought that the man that used to be able to fill me with homicidal rage with one look, was now one of the only people in the world to love me the way I never thought existed( or thought I deserved.)

He looked over, noticing that I calmed down and started to rub my back. He whispered in my ear “you can stand down now, tiger. It was barely even a peck and we were so young. I honestly forgot too until now”

“I was so close to decking you in the face” I said.

“I know. I could tell by that scary look in your eye.”

Robin and I both took a drink.

“Looks like you played yourself there, Robin,” Steve quipped before rubbing his chin trying to think of what to say.

“Hmmm..never have I” then he looked over at Eddie and he got a mischievous smile on his face, “never have I ever had sex while role playing as Lord of the Rings characters.”

Eddie got up immediately and ran to the other side of the room, dodging any chance for me to hit him on the arm again. It must have a bruise by now.

“Edward Franklin Munson, I’m going to kill you!,” I said, flicking a beer cap at his face but he moved his head out of its path.

He had that sly smile on his face that pissed me off and melted my heart simultaneously. Seeing my death stare, he put his hands up defensively. “I realize now it was an invasion of privacy, ok? But you should think of it as flattery! I was excited about it and wanted to share the tale with a trusted buddy, ok?”

Steve leaned over toward Robin “ they wore costumes and everything.”

Robin whipped her head toward me , grinning “I didn’t know you guys were such freaky little nerds!”

I covered my face with a couch pillow to cover my most-likely beet red cheeks. I don’t know why I was so embarrassed. I trusted Robin and Steve more than anyone and I know they don’t judge me. I’m just not used to sharing my sex life in such detail. At least Steve chose the more mild of stories to expose me because that’s not even close to the kinkiest things that beautiful man and I have done. Gods, I wonder what else Eddie has told him.

I suddenly feel a thump on the couch before I feel my favorite pair of hands wrap around my waist. Then my favorite deep voice like honey and venom in my ear “I’m sorry, baby. Punish me for it later?”

I lowered the pillow and turned my face to catch his lips in a kiss. Then I whispered into his ear “Oh, I will definitely enjoy punishing you later”

He backed away winking and replied “Not as much as I’ll enjoy being punished.”

“Alright, let’s continue the game, lovebirds. Your turn, Eddie”

Eddie stays close to my side but faces the group and claps his ringed hands together. “Right! Hmmm, ok. What haven’t I done? What haven’t I done?” He looks up at the ceiling with his tongue sticking out, feigning being deep in thought.

I go to punch him again but he catches my fist and pushes it down to wrap both his arms around me.

“Never have I ever slept with Steve,” he says wiggling his eyebrows at me, tongue slightly sticking out again. That tongue would have been really distracting to me, thinking of all the amazing things it does if I wasn’t incredibly irritated with what he just said. I was kind of relieved though that he seemed to mention it like it was just a funny thing of the past because he definitely didn’t treat it like that when he first found out. I thought he was going to smash Steve’s face in when he found out. He almost did but luckily I was able to calm him down. They got over all that eventually and are able to have a real friendship despite how unlikely a duo they are. It’s honestly so fucking cute, I can barely handle it. Seeing my two favorite men together, getting along? It just warms my heart. I took a drink and noticed Steve was looking down at his feet nervously.

“Umm..” Robin starts shakily, “I guess this is as good a time as any to admit that I, too ,slept with Steve.” Eddie and I stared at her, jaws on the floor. “Just one time!” she explained, “ After the first time Vickie and I broke up and after ingesting A LOT of vodka.”

“I’m sorry, what!?” I gasped.

“I’m confused. I thought you were a lesbian.” Eddie blurted.

I punched him on the arm again, right on the growing bruise.

“Stop hitting me!” he yelled, holding his arm.

“Stop saying dumb shit!”

“Yeah, I thought so too,” Robin started, “But...he’s very pretty,” she said, stifling a giggle.

Steve shook his head but he smiled and blushed a little.

“Yeah, so as it turns out I can only have romantic connections with women,” she says glancing briefly over at me then snapping back and looking down awkwardly with a laugh,” but sex with men isn’t terrible “

“Wow, thanks Robin” Steve deadpanned.

“I used to be scared of penises but it turns out they’re just like dildos but like warmer and squishier and better!” she laughs, her face turning bright red.

“Ok, I am livid you guys didn’t tell me thisbefore but that can be saved for another time.” I said before continuing the game.“Ok never have I ever...”

“Kissed Robin? Oh wait, sorry, that’s not true anymore” Eddie blurted.

I whipped my head at him, giving him the most deadly death stare.

He immediately realized his drunken slip up.

“Wait, you didn’t tell him? You’re a total hypocrite, babe!”

“What the hell is going on right now?” I heard Steve say, his eyes wild with disbelief.

I looked at Robin and she looked embarrassed, averting her eyes.

I let out a sigh. “Yeah Robin and I kissed last Friday. Ironically, vodka was also involved.”

“Not nearly as much as the night with Steve though. Like seriously, I...”

“Robin, please!” Steve yelled in a high pitched tone, cutting her off.

“Jesus H Christ. I thought you guys were the three musketeers but you are seriously dysfunctional” Eddie remarked before leaning over and downing one of the shots. “I needed that just to deal with this fucking soap opera.”

“You know what I just realized?” Robin asked with an amused look on her face.

“What?” we all asked in unison.

“All of us in this room have hooked up in some way or fashion except for you two,” she said, wiggling her fingers at Eddie and Steve.

“That’s right! “ Both the guys avert their eyes while Robin and I look at each other and both get the same idea telepathically.

I poke Eddie in the ribs. “Babe, you guys have to kiss. It’s like a prophecy. It’s written in the stars”

He looked me up and down intensely with one eyebrow arched. His lip was snarled. I laughed at seeing how uncomfortable he was.

“Come on, Steve. Just a little peck on the lips. Come on.” Robin egged him on.

Steve looks up with this look in his eye like he has an idea. “Ok, we’ll do it.”

Eddie jumps up out of his seat, “You’re not fucking touching me, Harrington!”

I jump up to put my hands on his chest soothingly.

“Baby, we’re just joking. We’ll stop. I’m sorry.”

“Yeah, slow down there, big boy. We can make this work to our advantage.”

Eddie slowly sat back down eyeing Steve suspiciously. He sat down in silence for a few seconds. “I’m listening” he says,” bringing his beer to his lips, taking the last sip.

“If Eddie and I kiss. Just a quick peck, ok? You ladies, have to drink all the remaining shots AND I wanna see you guys make out in person”

“Ok, now we’re talkin’. I knew I liked you, Harrington.”

“Ew, no, this isn’t happening,” Robin says. “What is it with guys and their fascination with girls kissing? Like seriously does having a penis make you brain deficient? My sexuality doesn’t get to be some spectacle for you guys.”

“You two were just wanting us to kiss. How is this not the same thing?!” Eddie asked.

“I was just playing around! I’m not going to get some sort of sick pleasure from it.” Robin replied.

“I might” It escaped my mouth without my permission. Damn this liquor.

All of them looked at me. Robin looks shocked and betrayed a little. Eddie looks intrigued and Steve just looks dumb-founded.

“I...it does sound kind of hot to me. But if Robin isn’t comfortable with it then let’s just drop the whole thing and turn on a movie or something.”

“Wait, you’re down to do it?” Robin asks incredulously.

“Umm..yeah kind of.”

Robin studied me and there was a look in her eye I couldn’t place.“Ok. Deal.”

Eddie sputtered, “What?”

“You heard me, Munson. Pucker up if you want your prize.”

Trigun Bookclub: Trigun Vol.1-2, Chapter #10

I’m doing a deep-read of the Japanese original print (reread) and Overhaul 1.0 (first read) side-by-side, and writing down everything I notice from small details, version differences, translation differences, etc.

The volume numbers will be mismatched for most of the remainder of Trigun, since the Japanese first edition is 3 volumes while all later versions are 2 volumes.

I was waiting for Vash's antennae to go back up, but it looks like 2 of them are permanently bent now. I think it's stayed half-bent since his first encounter with Kaito in the last arc. Haven't double checked to make sure though.

Milly my beloved..... (I keep spelling it Millie every time. help) In the Japanese version, the speech bubble is "good morning," but in a barely comprehensible yawn. The yawning onomatopoea is written in small text.

Various translation corrections -

「先輩は書いても絵ハガキ程度ですよねー」 "Ma'am, you only send postcards at most, right?"

「ソレが普通ですわよ　それにもともと家訓からして「自立せよ」ですからね」 "And that's the normal amount. Besides, our family motto was 'be independent!'"

「ドライといえばドライなのかも…」 "Maybe it could be a bit unemotional/pragmatic [now that you mention it], but..."

Badwick's first appearance. Just looked ahead to check his name... I forgot how stupid it is... Badwick...... The first time we see one of my favorite art style aspects, single forms!! Love seeing black blocks and non-distinguishable limbs!! This is used a lot with Wolfwood's suit and I love it so much...

I would say Vash's line here is more like "I get it now."

Images I can hear!! I loved this scene in '98... 聞いておるのかご老体！！ By the way, Vash uses polite speech here, but in a (half-)sarcastic way. (If that makes sense...)

Badwick's「笑うね！！」line here is more like "You make me laugh!!" or "Ha ha, very funny!!" I know Vash jumping in front of the old couple is probably intended to just be an instinctive act of protection, but thinking about my analysis in the previous arc (#08 I think?), I can't help but think about his self-sacrificial tendencies...

On a lighter note, Meryl ends her rant with マヂ(ジ)で！！ which is kind of like... "FR!!" lol Also Vash is literally dead. Honestly he might've been better off taking the bullet than getting bonked.

Classic MillyMeryl manzai routine (not a single braincell between them). Featuring a pissed Vash.

Milly's joke is a bit hard to translate.... She's actually saying an idiom wrong. The correct phrase (what she says in Overhaul) is ��事の前の小事, which literally means "a small event before/in front of the big event." (this idiom is also an contranym but I won't get into that lol) However, the kanji she uses for 小事(shōji, small event) is switched for 障子(shōji, wood-and-paper sliding door). They look the same in romaji, but they have different tones.

Meryl's response uses English loanwords/Japanglish that's all slightly incorrect for the situation.

So, the Gramps's comments are about the fact that they're using the words wrong. Apparently Granny didn't notice!? lol

Another silly Milly... Gramps's line is a sort of double-meaning, since ボケる(bokeru) means both to be silly (as in the funny man role in manzai)(which Milly has been doing throughout) and to go senile. I love how Vash is 100% tired of this shit and just stares at us.

Japanese-only thing, but I love how he says「わーかってますって　超OKっスよ」. silly goober....

「ジオ・プラント――　肥沃化プラントの影響を受けて植物が育つ事ができる土地の総称である」 "Geoplant— The general term for land that is capable of growing flora due to the effect of a fertilizing Plant."

The term "geoplant" is actually for the affected land, not the Plant itself. Which is... confusing to be honest....

The Plants mentioned here are the capital P generator Plants, not lowercase p flora plants. This line means that among the Plants on the ships, some of them were also of the fertilization variety necessary for geoplant land. "Naturally" is continued into Gramps's line, so it should end with an ellipsis.

He says that the property became worth about the same as the area of a 300-yard radius around a ship (which I would imagine is INSANELY valuable), whether they wanted the price to rise or not.

These two lines are actually by Vash.

「おそらく地脈を伝って影響が『飛び地』したんだろうな」 "Perhaps the effects of a Plant spread along a mineral vein and ended up forming an 'enclave' here."

「でもここまでになるにはただそれだけじゃ駄目だ」 "But just that's not enough for it to get to this scale."

I love how quickly he could tell this is a geoplant and recognize how much work and love the couple has put into it.

「それにどれだけ我々が支えられてきたか言葉にならんよ」 "I can't even begin to describe how much hope it has given us."

The word he uses is actually "support," but I couldn't think of a way to make it sound decent other than the next closest word, "give hope."

Not really a translation fix - in Japanese, he says something more like "This is where our lives and hopes are."

I missed it during the annotation (will mark it later), but I think the article for "tycoon" should be "the" or "a," since Morgan hasn't appeared yet. Gramps mentions that the incident from earlier that day was also one of Morgan's threats. (The annotation should be "like what happened this morning/noon." Will also fix that later.)

I feel like this line by Gramps comes across as a bit too harshly apologetic in English compared to the original? I'm not sure how to convey it accurately though... it's more of a Japanese cultural thing.

The first speech bubble is probably by one of the elderly couple, most likely Gramps, since it says "Vash-kun". Milly calls him "Vash-san."

Also about the "lover's quarrel" tease and Meryl's response:

A common tease for male+female character pairs (and real life...), but the nice thing about this is that there's no hinting of hidden romantic feelings whatsoever (stammering, blushing, etc.). Even through a Vash/Meryl truthing lens, I think at this point there truly is nothing (realized) there yet. There's no forced hetero-amatonormative romance!! (my pet peeve in manga)

These lines are actually an exchange between Badwick and Marilyn.

「うわーーっ　いくらすっと思ってるんだその門柱！！」 "Aaahh!! [Watch what you're doing!] Just how much do you think that pillar's worth!?"

「ケチくせー事いいっこなし！！どうせアコギなマネして建てたんでしょ」 "Oh, don't be so stingy!! I bet you guilt it with shady money(/through shady means) anyways."

Ok it’s been about 2 weeks since the new cast names have gotten revealed and like 3 since we’ve first seen them, I’ve had time to fully process the new designs I think I can give in depth thoughts now.

First these guys!

Priya - um I don’t have much to say about her, she gives off super preppy but very nice, giving Courtney I think. I like her she seems nice

Millie - Yeah she’s just giving nice and polite and mom friend, but she’s absolutely one of my favorites I think idk she’s just nice.

Ripper - Okay he had to grow on me a lot but I love him now! I think the Nowen headcanons/art converted me on him and I don’t even ship lmao. But yeah he’s a bitch I’m calling it now. Maybe not main antagonist worthy but like he’s evil. But also lovely and a joy to have around. Also he’d probably be a challenge beast I think. Idk he’s just vibes I guess.

Damien - Honestly if anyone’s trans it’s him. Definitely. He just exudes transmasc. This entire row is very gender but like out of this whole cast it’s probably him. Also, he’s SO COOL I am in love with his design he also just exudes good vibes I love him. I think he should win I want him to win or at least make top 3.

Axel - YES. She is going to be a favorite I hope another one of the coolest people here. Love characters who could beat my ass. Personality wise I’m think she’s like Brick Courtney and Eva with slight Jo and Duncan idk she just gives all of them. She will slay I can sense it.

Chase - Normal (derogatory) idk he’s just there. But he seems nice ig.

Zee - they’re so non-binary. Anyways they’re very funky and sweet and so shapes and they give major sweetheart goofball I love them. they just enjoy.

Scary Girl - I don’t know why she doesn’t have an actual name especially when all the fan names are so amazing, I personally prefer Charley or Hayley (I don’t remember who came up with those but you’re the best). Um design wise she’s kind of the actual best I think like it’s just so vibes. Personality wise I literally don’t know actually and I think I like that. That just means she could be anything I love a good wildcard. Yeah she’s another fave.

Caleb - He’s giving Ryan I think but like take out everything that made me like him. I don’t know he’s just so.. boring. I think I’d boot him first he’s just frustrating and I don’t trust him at all.

Nichelle - Ok I’m gonna be honest when the names got revealed I did not care for her AT ALL I thought she was just so basic. But like I’m here now hi sorry I’m late. She’s so girl, girla, girlie, girlie pop, bestie. Her designs also grown on me as well, i love the beads and the yoga pants. She just seems so chill and normal (affectionate). But ALSO I’m kinda getting scared she might be first boot here’s why. Ok so we all know she and Caleb weren’t in that like team huddle thing but like. Has anyone else noticed she hasn’t been in any of the promo screenshots in the flyer. That’s so weird to me. I hope I’m going insane especially since she’s the only one facing right (although that could be another clue). But um anyways yeah she’s great. She’s just so slay. I love her.

Julia - This girl is gay. Anyways she also had to grow on me cuz she was so basic but like I’m also here for her now. You are all right she’s absolutely a stoner. Also like I kinda get an athlete vibe from her? Like she’s a twig but like if it got revealed she does or did track or something I wouldn’t be surprised. She’s great I think.

Bowie - I’m sorry I love a good twink. Idk what’s going on with the color scheme/design but like it’s very funky it suits him. The necklace and bracelets are cool, he’s cool, I like him a lot hoping he goes far.

Wayne - I’m not gonna lie, I think he’s one of my favorites now. Another case where the art converted me but like he’s just adorable. But also idk if this is my mha obsessed brain talking but YALL. HES LITERALLY OJIRO, HEAR ME OUT HERE They are both: Blonde, both do sports, probably both polite himbos, he gives off nervous vibes just like Ojiro, both (somewhat) big guys, AND THEY HAVE VERY SIMILAR, IF NOT THE SAME FUCKING COLOR SCHEME. I CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE SEEING THIS. AM I DELUSIONAL PROBABLY BUT I DO NOT THINK SO. I get he’s probably supposed to be a Wayne Gretzky parody but like come on. I see the vision. Anyways tangent over I love him he just seems so sweet. Also he’s so gay you guys. He’s great. I love him.

Raj - um I don’t have much to say but he also seems very sweet and adorable. I also think out of him and Wayne he’d be the more chill and reasonable one. I’m rooting for him.

Emma - ok she used to be my first boot but I don’t hate her anymore. Wow holy shit y’all’s art converted me on 5 people props to the total drama fandom y’all did great. Um I don’t really know what to say about her but like I hope everyone who’s predicting she’s a sweetie pie is right. Um well see about her I’m interested now.

MK - ICON! I love them so much and I also think they are enby. They are also a super sweet silly goofball I think. Literally I want them to win so bad they are my absolute favorite. But seriously why are they yellow. If they’re supposed to be Asian then surely Fresh should know it’s a problem. Especially considering they didn’t do it with Heather when TDI first came out. So bad. But anyways yes they are amazing literally my favorite they need to win.

so uh yeah. I definitely like them all a lot more than I did when the designs first got revealed. I think my absolute favorites are MK, Damien, Axel, Wayne, Nichelle, Julia, Ripper, Zee, Wayne, and Millie. Although I don’t get why these were their names when I’ve seen so many better ones (I’ve seen Tristan and Hayden for Ripper and Wayne respectively and like yeah I like those a hell of a lot better.) But um yeah I’m excited for the season I don’t think it’ll be a dumpster fire, especially considering Ridonculous was good. I’m excited.

Screw it, just like Hazbin, I’m going to review Hellava boss.

Pilot

Ok, so the pilot was made in 2019???? Wow…Starting off strong, the first thing is a cartoonish drawn “content warning” that the show has swears. Honestly I feel like if they wanted the content warning to be taken seriously, while also having it be based off a drawing, it could have been really cool? Like with some cartoon tiles, shows have the titles change fonts or add special effect. If they just made the warning more in depth, it would be fine. But since they didn’t, it feels a bit mocking?

Richard Horvitz???? The VA for Invader Zim??? WHAT ARE YOU DOUNG HERE??? :0

You can really hear the difference btween professional VA vs new ones. Richard tone sounds more deeper then the others, and his words made more pronounced. While Millie’s and Blitzo’s VA are more softer and quiet.

The animation is fine, a bit fluid in some place, a bit stiff in others. I do like the color palette, compared to Hazbin, the colors aren’t an eye-straining red.

The Imps are a group of hired assassins! That’s a really cool concept!

The humans in this world are a bit jarring when they’re next to the Imps. The humans doctor has a thicker lineart then the Imps, so he stick out more awkwardly

I don’t like Loona’s design. Every time she looks forward, her muzzle is short and squish and her head shape is off.

Blitzo slept with Stolus (is that his name?) to get the book to take them to the human world. Interesting thing, but man that bird guy is a bit of a creep.

The pacing of this show is a bit off, it starts when the Imps talking, then it shows the musical ad, then it cuts to them hitting a child and taking said child to the hospital. Then it goes back to them talking, then it’s a montage about Loona, then that cuts to Blitzo getting the book and that bird guy, now it’s back to the Imps talking.

I like Moxxie. He a a very snarky dude. He also sets boundaries and telling Blitzo that stalking him and Millie is not appropriate. Though him calling Luna a meth addiction homeless women is….bad.

The child that they took to the hospital is ok. But then the kid calls them out and…eugh left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt like the kid was rude to be shock value? That with the onscreen death and disembodied of said kid?

One thing I didn’t like besides the ending was that amount of cursing. It’s much tone down from Hazbin, (I think? I can’t remember).

Scale of 1-5, I give this a 4. It’s pretty good!

Episode 1

The first episode was released in 2020, that pretty impressive. I don’t know a lot about indie animation, so I don’t know if having a show be picked up a a year after the pilot is a good thing or not.

Oh wow…..OH wow. Ok so this teacher, she was at work, a one of her students reminded her that today is her husband’s birthday. So she had the children…call him on the computer? Skype?? I’m guessing this was in a time period that didn’t have phones.. But the teacher saw her husband having an affair. She left, after throwing a child out the schools roof, and murder the women. She saw the computer was still on, then I think killed herself??? Anyway the children will definitely be traumatized after that.

Oh the women survive the shooting. But she was claimed as a hero and got a lot of money out of it???

Moxxie is hesitating about killing an entire family. While Millie seems fine with it. I just since she’s a demon, she doesn’t care that much for human? It interesting that they made Moxxie like this? In the pilot he was just a snarky jerk..

THERE FIREFIGHTERS IN HELL???? man they must be paid a lot of money, since hell has a lot of fires. Or are they worked too much?? I’m curious about how the hell works in this show..

Oh, the family are cannibals. Also I’m getting MAJOR Residents Evil Biohazard vibes..

The color palette for when Blitzo was running in the forest is very pretty. Nice purples mixes with red. And Stolas’s bathroom is very pretty too. Thought I don’t like his new voice, it’s to high pitched for me.

“Stolas is a Great Prince of Hell, commands twenty-six legions of demons. He teaches astronomy and is knowledgeable about herbs, plants, and precious stones. He is often depicted as a raven or a crowned owl with long legs” that what’s Wiki says. So Stolas is like, an adviser? What is his job?? One a month on the full moon, Stolas wants the book back and to have him and Blitzo…have sex? Company? Then Blitzo can have the book for the rest of the time….I don’t know how that deal is efficient..

Fire can’t hurt demons, but they can get hurt when shot at…interesting.

Moxxie lets the family life and just called the police to have them deal with it. That’s sweet. I always think shows that have supernatural or villains characters having a heart of gold or a soft spot is a cool tropes.

Yeah, this is a dark comedy.

Scale out of 5, I give this a 3. It was fine, the art was pretty and I love the teacher.

episode 2

Stolas has a baby! Octavia, she cute. Him singing her a lullaby is sweet. And the scenery is very beautiful, I love the colors. Stolas’s VA has a beautiful singing voice..It’s funny when a character has a different voice when they’re singing vs when they’re speaking…

Oh, so it seems like the family isn’t good. Stolas is having an affair, and the mother is very angry about it. Stolas decided to take his daughter out to a theme park, but he wants Blitzo to come?? Also Blitzo wants to have a three way with Millie and Moxxie….hmmm.

Lucifer has a theme park?? Since this world takes place in Hazbin Hotel…when did Lucifer do that?? Also, is hell just full of imps and some higher princes/demons? Humans that died? Did Moxxie, Millie, and Blitzo die? ALOS WHY ARE THERE DEMON CHILDREN??? Are they human kids who died or are they like, born into hell??

I don’t know why but I need to keep talking about the colors in this show. THIS SHOW ISN’T EYE HURTING RED!! THERE GREEN AND BLIES AND IT LIKE AN ACTUAL THEME PARK I LOVE IT.

Octavia ran away and Stolas finds her and there talking. “Are you gonna run off with him and leave me behind? Go away where I can’t find you?”

OW. Poor Octavia I know what that kind of feels like. (Divorce parents, but thankfully no affairs.) it’s scary when your a kid and you think that one of you’re parents is going to abandon you. In Octavia case, her dad is flirting with Blitzo even when she’s in the room, so the doubt in her mind must be very hard to handle. Especially since Stolas can turn people into stone, so he really doesn’t need Blitzo to be there. He just wants the picture perfect family he created in his mind.

Scale of 5, I give this a 3.

hi i'm a year late but i saw your spec on noah and finn's sexuality and then you turned out to be right about noah! not that its about being right but i think harmless spec is ok and natural actually... like a reflection of your empathy and sensitivity, youre good at reading people i guess!

so anyway my point is have you got any examples of why you think finn might not be straight? cos you mentioned some specific moments where noah seemed gay but you think finn is gay or bi or something else?

Hey there, thanks for the ask. I've heard that some people in this fandom don't like when we "speculate" about people's sexuality and gender identity, like it's something very offensive. But I don't find anything offensive about saying that someone might be queer as there’s nothing wrong about being queer and if the person isn’t, they’re just not. So I'm glad I'm not alone here!

Regarding Finn, I personally think that he's pan and non-binary. I actually don't see Finn caring about gender as a concept at all. It shows in the way he dresses, the obvious fact that he's played queer roles and how he moves his body. His body language is very non-cis coded, it's actually super interesting to analyze.

For example, when he sits, he crosses his legs in a way that no heterosexual or cis man would. A bit like Millie or Sadie. Also the way he puts his hands on his legs and how he moves his fingers… No cis man would do that. It’s all very subtle. You have to pay close attention but it’s there. There really is a female elegance about him that you don’t see in the other guys. Noah, for example, is 500% visually gay. It’s even in his voice. But it’s all masculine. Totally different from Finn.

Then, there’s Finn’s clothes. The blue pullovers… The tweed suit… The heels and the way he dresses for photoshoots. And his facial expressions. His smiles. There’s a cuteness about him that is very feminine.

And there are moments where he can be masculine too but always with a hint of femininity that Joe or Gaten or even Caleb do not have at all. For example in his movie with Juliane Moore. He’s a perfect mix of both, all the time, at the same time. It’s amazing. And he can be a little goofy and clumsy looking too which adds to the queer reading. I’ve said it before, but I know many lesbians are “confused” by him and it’s not by chance at all. No one in the cast has this non-binary poise and energy. Not even Jamie who is more like a rockstar dandy. Finn… is different.

Again, I may be completely wrong, I don’t know. It’s just how I feel when I look at him or listen to his interviews.

(The other day, we were watching a very old YouTube video of a French gamer streamer. And as he talked and played the game, I told my husband “that’s funny, he has a woman energy”. I didn’t even know that guy at all. My husband laughed and told me that this Youtuber came out as a transgender woman a few years after the video we were watching was published and she’s now living as a woman gamer (DamDam if I need to name her). It actually made me laugh too but I wasn’t surprised. It’s all about energy.)

Trigun Book Club! Trigun Book Club! (@trigunbookclub)

Way back in the mid-2000's, a young Pancake Ray was working their first job out of college at a local Giant Chain Bookstore and discovered that no one else working the store cared if they spent their breaks sitting on the floor in front of our rather impressive two and a half bays of manga we had and just... read them right there. Much manga was read, and among the titles read were both Trigun and what was available at that time of Trigun Maximum.

I remember very little from that initial read aside from 1) confusing fight scenes, and 2) enough deviation from the anime (which I had recently watched) that I didn't really have a place for at that time. The anime had wormed itself into a very special place in my heart, so between the differences and just not being in a good place spiritually to handle some of its more religious themes, I wasn't really sure what to do with it. It probably didn't help that, back then, the manga was nowhere near finished.

I still read every volume we had, because gods, I read anything that looked even remotely interesting on the manga shelves at that time.

Now, an older and (debatably) wiser Ray is going to be reading these along with the rest of the Trigun Book Club Denizens. But first, I want to start of with a quote from the notes in The New Oxford Annotated Bible (3rd Ed.) in their prelude to I Kings, which is what I'm currently studying:

It just seemed like something to keep in mind when thinking about the character of Vash... but YMMV.

Trigun Volume 1 Covers

Ok, first off... I love the alternate covers Nightow did. The stark contrast between the serious cleanliness of the covers and the crazy tongue-in-cheek alternate version really sets the tone.

LOL, "Deep Space Planet Future Gun Action!!" Yep, that's it. That's all it is.

How have I never seen Meryl as Luke Skywalker before??

Chapter 1: The $$60,000,000,000 Man

This poster says "Appearance: Unclear," but it also has a picture of him. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Vash's face is so goofy. It's like if his world isn't ACTIVELY ON FIRE, he doesn't know how to be serious. I do like the belts. When watching S1 of Stampede, I missed the belts. I hope S2 has more belts. Something something fetish gear.

I love that there's actually a tally of all this on a wall somewhere. SEVENTY FREAKING TWO MURDER CASES.

Kid: "Mom, I want a gun." Mom: "You already have a gun at home." The Gun At Home: *only shoots toy darts when you, a child no older than 8, are living in the Space Wild Wild West and think you need real bullets*

I love how quickly Vash goes from "OMG FOOD" face to SERIOUS EATING FACE.

And it's immediately followed by this CLOSE-UP ASS SHOT. WHYYYYYY???

I don't know who this cloaked guy who's cocking his shotgun by shaking it vertically is, but I love his stupid hair.

Yeah, you don't get to kill the protagonist THAT fast....

WW isn't even here yet and Nightow's already filling panels with man-tiddies...

LOL, he counted ALL the bullets in that page that was... just... it was just bullet fire. Somehow he counted them all. For every gun. And now everyone else has to leave stripped down to their boxers.

I love that someone, somewhere decided they needed to have a pinball machine all the way out here in nowheresville.

Ah there are the girls. Milly looks so worried about the catcalls, but Meryl? Meryl looks bored.

Chapter 2: Looney Tunes

Ok, first off, this chapter title just makes me think of ep 12 of Stampede when So-and-So starfishes his way out a window before floundering in the air for a second of hangtime and then falling.

Exposition! Huzzah!

Population decline slowing = humans adapting to the new environment. Resilient little buggers.... I know someone who probably HATES that statistic.

So, basically... before July, Vash was small beans. Or going by another name.

Aaaand straight into his goofy poses. This man is made of rubber, I swear.

LOL, why is he talking in French?! I guess a guy's gotta have his hobbies....

But Meryl... I'm with Milly here. Is it really that dangerous??

Ah, yes. The ol' "they'll understand me better if I just speak louder" trick. A favorite of Americans traveling in non-English-speaking countries when said American hasn't bothered to learn even the tiniest bit of the local language.

Current favorite Vash Chaos Pose:

LOL, "MY DEEPEST APOLOGIES FOR INTERRUPTING THIS CONFUSION." This feels like such a Japanese thing to say. It's like, "I know you're all engaged in frantic chaos right now, and because you're engaged in it, it must be very important to you, so I, the intruder, must offer my sincere regret for interrupting it."

I wonder how this version of Milly will merge with a Milly who was crazy enough to volunteer for the position of Meryl's partner in Stampede.

This Vash is definitely not so keen on being caught, even in the face of suffering women and children.

But here he is, protecting the very people who had guns in his face a second ago.

Chapter 3: Hard Puncher

Man, poor Gosef. But Vash standing over his prone form looks badass.

LOL, the Insurance Girls finally have everyone's attention, and.. they look like they don't want it anymore.

Hahahahaha, there goes the bounty. Can't put a bounty on a natural disaster. The federal government has officially labeled him "not human." *pats Vash*

Actually, he looks kinda happy about this. I guess not having a bounty on your head anymore might do that.

He can still have the head-pats.

The difference in his expression when greeting Meryl versus greeting Milly....

For as terrible as Mr. Nebraska himself is, I always appreciated how much he seems to genuinely care about his son in his own weird way.

Gods, I'm glad every other version got rid of his gun legs, though. That's... a Thing, and I don't like this Thing.

And just like that, Vash goes from "concerned about these girls constantly being around him" to "mildly intimidated by them." Beautiful.

Jaune:*spit takes orange juice * how the FUCK did you learn that name?!

Yang:woah vb chill it was just a question. Now I’m curious tho.

Weiss: is she a dog you had or something?

Before anyone could blink Jaune pulled a black and silver rilfe from seemingly out of nowhere and placed the barrel under weiss’s chin.

Jaune?:you call my wife a dog again and I’ll kick your juvenile ass!

Ruby:woah stop! First she didn’t know! Second nice gun. Third wife?! and fourth that is a really nice gun where did you get it?

Sighing Jaune? Place the gun on the table apologizing to Weiss at the same time.

Jaune?: well I guess I should come clean.

Ren:come clean? About having a wife?

Jaune?: well that and well I’m actually a demon that’s been reborn because a mistake the dark prince Stolas made while he was fucking my boss.

Rwbynpr:wa?

Jaune?: so while I am human now I was once a imp demon named moxie. I killed people for a living.

Nora:woah really!

Jaune (moxie): yeah but the targets were killers, cheaters,clowns, and back wood Jeffrey Dahmer.

Blake: this is a lot to process. What was Millie?

Jaune (moxie): she was the love of my afterlife and one badass killer! She was best with melee weapons like knives, axes, and one time she used a baguette to kill three ninjas!

Ruby:sounds interesting but she won’t hurt us right?

Jaune (moxie):oh no as I said we only killed targets and in self defense. Though I miss my beautiful assassin. We only just had one year long anniversary.

Pyrrha:.. I’m sorry to hear that. I wish we could have meet.(thinking:I wish he talked about me with eyes like that.)

Suddenly a portal opened in the dorms rec room and out popped two imps and a dog.

???:shit looks like we went to the wrong realm o don’t see the retard here.

???:what do we do with them?(pointing at the teams)

???:leave them no one will believe them that demons popped up here.

Jaune (moxie):MILLIE, BLITZ, LOONA!

The demons were shocked that a mere mortal knew their names!

LOONA: how the fuck do you know us?

Jaune (moxie):ITS ME MOXIE I WAS REBORN AS A HUMAN! THESE ARE MY FRIENDS AND TEAMMATES!(introduces the teams who were still in shock) THEY ARE TRAINING TO BE HUNTERS AND HUNTRESSES!

Millie: MY MOX IS ALIVE?! I so happy I’ve found you and woah. Your caked up!

Jaune (moxie): That not the only thing that’s been “beefed up” .

Ruby:TMI!

Pyrrha:are are you going to leave us?

Jaune (moxie): what no. I still want to be a huntsman I just have a lot more back and forth to do from now on.

Blitz: what are you taking about just get you ass back in the office and it’s Business as usual.

Jaune (moxie): I can’t if I go without permission I would instantly die. Plus I have a big family to take care of.

Loona:how big?

Jaune (moxie):seven sisters and my parents.

Blitz: and I thought stolas had a lot of siblings.

Millie: what about us?

Jaune (moxie): your still my beautiful assassin wife I wouldn’t trade you for anything.

Millie:aww baby!*starts to make out with him*

Pyrrha can only look away in hurt and pain only to catch the attention of Millie.

Millie: so who is she to you?

Jaune (moxie): my teacher, partner and best friend who I love.

Millie: Hey red!*pyrrha looks* how about I let you in on this.

Jaune (moxie): sweetie?!

Pyrrha:YES!

Millie: good answer! Now let’s go a “ cement“ this new deal.

Jaune (moxie):the room is across the hall.

Millie:perfect! I will see you back at the office blitz! Come along Pyrrha I got to show you some tricks!

Pyrrha:oh ok!

yang: huh Jaune’s going to fuck a demon and the “goddess of victory” that one way to start the weekend.

Blitz:tell me about it. Hey do you know where I can blow some creatures up and not get bitched at?

Loona: mind if I relax here? I don’t feel like going?
