I have achieved the status of "the friend who bakes"

A gal pal texted to say "hey, we're doing a celebration, can you make the cake?" and offered to pay me back for groceries and all, just.... I needed to bake it

So now it's midnight, but there's a triple layer, double fudge, brownie-cake sitting in my fridge and utterly slathered in heaven level frosting (I know because I licked the spatula when I was done, like you're supposed to) so I have that going for me

I just gotta wake up early to make the ganache before going to work, drive home after to pick up the cake, and then make it to the get together on time :)

As much as I love Tommy calling Buck 'Evan', it also kind of feels like an omen.

(Bear with me a little, the buck/evan distinctions get a bit uhh).

Canon reasoning aside, as symbolism, it's clear-cut. Evan is the man Buck used to be, the kid he used to be, and with this piece of himself finally falling into place, there's some healing to be had for that past version of Buck as well. It's the start of a journey, and Buck can't make it if Evan doesn't as well.

And I've seen Buck referred to as a mask, a protection of Evan, but I think he's the man Evan evolved into. He got the nickname in the fire academy and never looked back, and there's something obvious about the way he stopped being Evan just as he became a firefighter and found his place with the 118. (Buck 1.0 was a mask, at least in part, but that's another story.)

For years, he has been Buck. Maddie is the only one who knew him when he was Evan, and she does call him by his name sometimes. There's also Eddie's infamous listen-to-me-goddamnit line. But that line during the will reveal works because 'Evan' is so jarring, not just to the viewers, but to Buck himself too. Even in s6, Chimney calls him Evan in front of the Buckley parents, and Buck is in the background looking confused as hell. It's not his name anymore, not really.

And I guess what I'm trying to say with all this is that Tommy calling him Evan (while cute) feels like it sets up the relationship to end. Because Evan doesn't really exist anymore; he's a part of Buck, certainly. All of us carry our past selves around, we're never really free of the people we used to be. But Buck grew beyond Evan, he grew up a bit and found his place in the world.

He's back to being Evan now that he's finding his footing with this new facet of himself. But in everything else he's still Buck. And I'm not sure it's insignificant.

Well… I would like to keep my ankles intact

So I start with your standard asymmetrical triangle.

Next, I add a blocky Y and a kinda sideways sharp W on the top, and for the eyes I draw two differently sized circles, the one on the left overlaps the edge of the head and should be bigger than the one on the right.

After the basic shapes I add the pupils and other small details like eyelashes and stripe pattern on the antenna (by the way if your drawing a character looking straight ahead I recommend putting the pupils more on the inside of the eye near where the nose would be so it looks like their focusing on something).

Zooble (from what I’ve seen at least) usually has their upper eyelids lowered, so most expressions from them should include this, and unlike Gangle and Kinger, they have visible eyebrows.

If you want to make the emotion your conveying more intense, making use of wrinkle lines around the eyebrows and eyes can help. Also, making use of things like ears, antennas, tails or other things can help convey emotions more .

As for the body, i usually start with a triangle head with a stick body.

Next, I usually add basic shapes making up the body and limbs. I want to draw attention to the body itself, since it’s a bean I usually just draw two circles on top of each other with a curved side connecting them.

After the basic shapes, I add the details and darken some lines.

And finally, I add the last details, darken the last lines, and erase some things to make it look less messy.

Sorry if this is more info than you wanted, I got a little carried away. Also please take all of this with a grain of salt because I am a mere child and have no idea what I’m talking about.

More so about his... morals? Possible beliefs? I don't know, something like that.

This one is more like a little headcanon of sorts? I don't know how to classify this tbh.

Anyways! We have the album for the movie on spotify, right? And in the spotify version (I never checked the others...) some of them have voice-overs from the film. And of course one of my favorites is Link Up and Silk & Cologne (both have Hobie voice-overs).

And even with the other songs with voice-overs, I can't help but think that it has purpose. Why would they throw a random voice-over of a random character in a song if not for the song to relate to them somehow?

See this one for example:

It has a Miguel voice-over at the end, and somehow I can see it fitting his story. He had nothing and found somewhere where he had everything, but still lost it.

Oh and what about this one?

I don't know about you guys but this music screams desperation. Miles desperation to get to Gwen. And in the end we have Mr. Morales voice-over "Mini man, come on, drop the beat!" and when that happens? After he makes his speech and refers to Miles and he's simply not there.

so a lot of people draw Narinder in something similar to the outfit he was wearing during his final fight and i support that!

Ok so I made a post on my main about things that irk me in certain Ace Attorney fanfics and now I wanna do another but with more of the sexual things in A A fanfics that irk me.

Let me start this by saying I am not putting anyone down for thinking along these lines and I’m also a bisexual genderqueer person, not a gay or bisexual man. But I still wanna talk about how these two are usually portrayed in relationships and how kind of tropey and gross some of them are.

I have a lot of thoughts on this. And it might be disjointed so bear with me.

So, for one thing, Miles is not the designated bottom and Phoenix is not the designated top. People do this because Miles is seen as a twink and pretty boy (and I’ll give you pretty boy, but if anything Miles is a twunk) and Phoenix is seen as more masc and manly (He is also a twunk). And I can give you most of those but that all doesn’t nesscarily mean that Miles is the bottom and Phoenix is the top.

This happens a lot with gay/bisexual male relationships. The bi guy is usually the top and the gay guy is usually the bottom. (Think of Zuko x Sokka from ATLA and Ryan and Chad from High School Musical) (Surprisngly, these two ships are also blue/red) ANYWAY. It just irks me because I don’t think that’s actually good relationship representation for them? And good representation for gay relationships in general.

If anything, they’re switches.

The more fem guy doesn’t always have to be the bottom and the masc guy doesn’t always have to be the top. And the gay guy doesn’t always have to be the bottom and the bi guy doesn’t always have to be the top.

This also is how it usually goes for Kristoph and Phoenix. Phoenix is seen as the top because he’s more manly and a hunk and Kristoph is seen as the bottom because he’s more feminine. But I don’t think that’s the case.

If anything, they’re also switches. (Kristoph likes the control when he tops and Phoenix likes the power he has over Kristoph because of what happened with his badge and it’s a way to gain power back)

I guess this is also my headcannons but it just irks me and I can’t help it and I wanna talk about it.

I might add more but that’s about the gist of what irks me personally. Feel free to comment and add but please do not be mean.

Like. The kid in that scenario could be saying the most entitled nonsense in the world, and if their parents post it online to be publicly shamed, I'd still support the kid 100%.
