Fics will update as listed, and I may post new ones, but I'm gonna take some time off, since I've got some travel coming up and a lot going on around it. See you guys again in a week or so!
Do you ever send asks to other people? I only ever see you answering your own…
I do actually, I just usually send it through anon, because I prefer it that way! There's a certain fun in not being perceived by other people while also giving them a lil love :)
when I get like that, I usually try and set it aside for a second.
Having a set schedule you abide by for updates can also help. it can be as frequent or infrequent as you wish, but you are establishing what should be expected of you and, in my experience, ppl generally respect that and rather than groaning that you take forever, they get hyped when the time you've set rolls around!
remember though, fic is a hobby, not a job, do with it what you want, how you want WHEN you want, it's always still there,a nd so are we, so don't be scared to leave it behind long enough to breath/sleep/eat/rest <3
Does anyone else start thinking about the fanfics they’re writing and gets really anxious about it? Especially if it’s multiple chapters? Like ‘oh god im taking too long people are going to be upset at me’ kinda anxiety?
As promised! This one is the chapter that actually takes place on Mother's Day, and I hope it's a bit lighter, sweeter, and can act as a good ending note as many of us prepare to go to bed tonight. Posting it is a good ending note for me!
drawing Sky is difficult, because he is that soft big brother who is always there and present and warm, but he's the god-killer and the one who holds the boys back when they're mad and the one who gets things under control when they're panicking, he's that strong anchor but he's also the teddy-bear, he's soft but there's steel beneath all the feathers and fluff
and putting that in his face when he's smiling, teasing, playing around with his little brother-
Hylia help me I love him but OY VEY! A face shouldn't take an hour to craft!
Took me a year, but to make up for it, I'll be posting two chapters on this thing today, and the last one will (tenetively) be up later this week. I have another update to do as well, so who knows, but I swear we're not leaving this unfinished!
Maybe for the phone conversation thing write it how the person interacts with objects while on the phone. Say two people where on a phone call in an argument and they are both preparing lunch or something.
You could write something like:
"well you should have attended, now mother is disappointed in you" Sara chimed with self righteous as she delicately sliced her passion fruit.
Clair's prepared lunch was more so cleaved in half mirroring what she wanted to do to Sara.
phone conversations have got to be one of the worst things to write because I can't include the physical ticks and cues a character uses in conversation, I can, at best, write what the other person THINKS they're doing
it works great for people who know each other well, but when they don't know each other....oof
You know what I think is one of the nicest things people can say when you post art or writing? “Thanks for sharing.” Cuz ya know, you didn’t have to share it. You could have kept it to yourself. Maybe it’s because you fear what others might think or you don’t feel it’s good enough to share with the world. But then you go ahead and do it anyways! People are happy when you choose to put your creative works out there and it’s nice just reading those three words :)
