ib @chris-continues modern/college wolfwood post. i told you I would draw him. it just took me a while because I'm working 40 hours a week on graveyard shift :)

anyways. hes so slay. gave him just a tinge of adam sandler, as god intended. no transmasc can escape adam sandler. as an adam, I can confirm.

i gave him mini crust pants. i think its a work in progress and he looks forward to ruining the shit out of them in the future. i am forcibly giving wolfwood more of my traits with each day that passes. no one can stop me.

In college AU by the time you and Nai meet you both are young (obviously, you’re in college, duh) and you’re both not super experienced in romance so jealousy is like mildly new territory (Nai especially LMAO) so when he feels a pang in his chest when you’re bantering with Wolfwood on a side that’s a bit too friendly for his liking?

Nick’s arm is slung around you as he tries to take a selfie with Meryl’s Polaroid, the girl attempting to jump to reach it as Milly observes. Vash is attempting to calm the situation- ever the peacemaker.

You’re laughing and amused all the while, smile painting your lips as you pose for a photo. You’re so happy with them it’s almost aggravating, ugh. Can you all just take it outside of the apartment? Nai has to hide away in his room, Snuggie wrapped around him in his little grove when you’re all here. A scowl is apparent as he scoffs, moving to his room with a few snide remarks muttered under his breath. He won’t ruin his brother’s fun though, he’s had trouble making friends in the past. So not to say he loathes you all, rather… you’re not preferable choice in company.

That’s what helps him sleep at night (when he does choose to sleep, at least).

In reality: does Wolfwood have a crush on you? No. You guys are just friends that mess around and chill out. But why should Nai care? You’re just another one of Vash’s friends who he happens to study with on occasion. That is all. All it will ever be.

He attempts to hide his glare as he stands and walks towards his room.

NOW JEALOUS READER?? Oo ok so so

Nai is a tennis champion, both him and Vash are practically campus celebrities. Both handsome, single, athletic, smart- Vash is well known and liked by everyone.

Nai though? HAH. Haha you’re funny. He’s well known. Respected enough. But he’s made it plenty clear kegstands and partying into the ungodly hours of night on a fucking Tuesday isn’t really his cup of tea. In fact it’s not even a cup at his table. (In this hypothetical cup scenario).

People oftentimes throw themselves at him, flocking to the handsome guy who’s far too beautiful to be human, tone and leaned muscle with a sharp jaw and cunning remarks. This girl was no different.

You knew of her, she was far more bold than you and was a relatively good student. Seemed nice enough.

You couldn’t hold it against her to take a liking to Knives as her hips swayed, eyes bright and flickering up to his. Normally, Nai wouldn’t go to the cafeteria, however Vash had wanted to grab a snack from a friend who worked here (they had donuts today) (curse him and his sweet tooth, ugh)

You sat with some other friends of yours, checking your phone for any notifications before turning to see her chatting with him. With his face away from you, you couldn’t see his obvious disinterest, although he was presumably like that with everyone, right? You have no idea why you’re watching so intently for someone who you can hardly call an acquaintance- he’s just a guy you sometimes exchange notes with.

Something unpleasant settles in your chest as your eyebrows furrow, looking down to your phone once more to forcefully distract yourself. It’s weird to stare like that, ahem.

And maybe you feel a tinge of guilt as he brushes past her to Vash, who’s 3 doughnuts richer now that his friend gave him “the goods”, a bead of something swelling in your chest.

Vash is perceptive as always.

He says nothing though, following Nai who takes brisk strides once more out of the noisy cafeteria, head almost buzzing from how overwhelming the noise can get for both of them.

College (uni??) AU catering to my own interests as it should always be hehe :)

#projecting my major on Vash because them mfs who have changed from the med field majors to that one have some tragic things to tell #and also because I think that Vash would be such a wonderful designer I don’t know why it’s a gut feeling #Nai the law major because of course he would have you seen the guy #he would be a personal injury lawyer because lore #fun fact Nai rested for a semester after the incident with Vash while Vash took two.He never told Nai he would be changing majors #so it was a big big shock for him. they fought again but yk I’ll explain more on that if anyone is interested #as to Kni and WW I thought it’d be funny if they shared a common subject that required a lot of team assignments #and they can NEVER work out together. being an absolute nightmare to the rest of their group #separately they are great to work with. even if Kni can come off as too bossy sometimes he is actually a great leader #and WW would always deliver things on time exactly as it was asked from him #but Kni and WW just never really matched. Kni was too rude at times when WW made a mistake and WW would always clock him if he passed a line #like insulting his reasons for wanting to study security #one day Kni tells him at the beginning of a new semester where they both have unfortunately landed on a shared subject again #“you are not suited for that sort of job Wolfwood. you should simply give up and why don’t you go play role model to your little kids’’#then WW beats him again and then is like hey yk what you’re kinda right. and changed majors and he feels so much more at home studying #education/teaching than security. he fucking hates some things but the end goal makes it worthy #Trigun Uni! Aw, thank you! Vash is in med school now, so he definitely got through undergrad alright, even if he did get caught in the crossfire sometimes (as a biomedical engineering/pre-med student, but also because of academia as a whole).

I hope the rest of your time treats you well.

Nai and Vash majored in the same discipline, if not for the fact that they are Rem Saverem’s children. Professor Saverem would take her boys to the front row of her lectures at the end of the week, her younger one coloring on the back of her handouts while his brother would mouth after the foreign, clinical terms on her slides. At dinner, she’d ask, What did you learn today? and Vash would speak first. Though it would often end like this: twin boys with twin questions.

Professor Saverem, a pioneer in regenerative medicine, inspired her boys to want the same. Nai takes the tech route, getting a joint masters in stem cell research and business administration, and is now bootstrapping his first real project. The kind that makes him fear failure and reject the very idea of it. The kind that asks him to bury his mother all over again.

His other half, Vash, fell in love with medicine in high school. He and Nai’s stint in foster care was short, gaining independence at eighteen only a year after. Yet it was still a year of separation from his twin. The Conrads decided to choose only one boy. Nai was the brighter one, the stronger one, the head of the household said.

Their mother never liked him. (They never liked him.)

It was a year of hospital stays, before and after the odd jobs Vash would take, as a volunteer in the ICU and recreation room for the pediatric patients. Vash would build bridges with popsicle sticks, inundate homemade slime with too much glitter, and host karaoke afternoons—though sometimes it would just be this: coloring on the back of the handouts with the kids. He put his heart into it, even if, in some ways, it was to forget about the bruises and scarring that littered his skin.

The first time Nai saw what his foster family did to Vash, he tasted blood in his mouth. A feral sound escaped him, anguish so deep and foul that he felt a part of his soul break. I want to—he had begun, but Vash only shook his head, the look in his eyes unbearably soft.

I was protecting the young ones, he said. Let’s come back for them one day was the unspoken ask.

Nai knew from the first chord of his stubborn, beating heart that Vash was always the strong one—the bright north star.

This isn’t in school or anything but I figured because it’s modern au and they’re college student age and probably going to college it fit lol

-Vash loves funnel cakes. Probably prefers the OG plain powdered sugar

-Wolfwood likes chocolate syrup and powdered sugar

-Milly swears by the overly sugary strawberry jam and whipped cream

-in a rare moment of agreement, Meryl and Knives agree that they are way too sugary but Vash will insist they have a bite (they cave) (it’s still too sugary)

-Vash will do ridiculous poses on the merry go round/carousel and would love it if anyone posed with him. What do you mean there’s only one person per horse? :( it makes for a bunch of cute photos tho!!

-Vash gets a large frozen iced lemonade and Wolfwood and Nai separately warn him to not chug it all just because it’s hot out because he will get a brain freeze (guess who got a brain freeze) (him.)

-Nai kinda lags behind everyone else. He was dragged along by Vash in hopes for him to have fun, but this truly isn’t his scene.

-For the carnival games, Vash is good at the shooting but with his luck he ends up with a faulty gun. Nai bargains with the vendor to give Vash his prize

-Wolfwood and Vash have a bit of a friendly competition on who can win the most

-Milly gets lost and they find her in the livestock barns somehow inside the goat pens because she made a new friend

-Meryl berated her immediately- she was so worried! Ugh! >:( (she’s worried for her girlfriend- I mean roommate)

-Knives is the only one who can tear them away from the animal barns and it takes so so long

-Meryl has a messenger bag and she’s kinda sorta prepared? To be fair, nobody got much beforehand notice before they were just on the road and at the carnival itself lol. She has sunscreen that has to be repeatedly borrowed

-Oo also firm believer that whenever someone wants to break a 20 or smth she’s the person they go to

-you know that one carnival ride? Where you’re locked in a cage whatever and get tossed around for a good minute? Yeah Wolfwood and Vash in one of those. It’s the funniest shit ever

-Vash gets super dizzy LMAO

-he almost vomits up all the sugary shit he’s eaten 😭

-pat his back and ask him if he’s ok pls

-he’ll look up at you with weary eyes and give a thumbs up, “yeah! Fine..” (and then proceed to almost bump into Wolfwood while walking LMAO)

-Milly insists on trying a bunch of carnival food, some of her taste is really questionable (who wants deep fried lard??) but she’s just curious and if you indulge her in trying some of the greasiest oiliest food you’ve ever seen she’ll be very happy

-Nah but fr if Milly ran a food acc/food vlog she’d get so much hype bro <33

-Imagine going on the carousel with Vash OMG

-mutual pining goes crazy here like you’re laughing and taking photos (like earlier)

-Milly, Meryl and Wolfwood went to go try more food and Knives excused himself for some fresh air away from the noise and lights (it was getting overwhelming for him)

-he helps you onto the pony, hand brushing yours as you both grab onto the pole and chuckle. The music starts to play, harmonious and oddly nostalgic, lights beautiful amidst the darkening sky

-you peek at him, his orange lenses oddly fitting into the bright lights around you both. He’s got this small smile that blooms into a gushy, dorky grin that makes you almost freeze- his sandy blonde hair sways with the movement of the pony as he chuckles, almost falling off as he’s caught staring at you too

-but of course the ride ends, and your good friend Vash + yourself make it back to the rest of the gang and eventually go home

-You both think about that moment more than you’d like to admit.

Getting stuck with Wolfwood as your partner in one of your college courses, and he makes it his mission to get to know you as best as he can in these few short weeks you have together.

In the beginning you could’ve sworn you were going to have to shoulder all the work yourself. Seeing him constantly coming in late while the professor had already begun lecturing. He seemed like the type to not really care for his grades, only showing up to get that minimum of a C (Cs get degrees) but that couldn’t have been more far from the truth. He ends up becoming one of the best partners you’ve had in your experience of group projects.

He’s attentive, always on time, brings you snacks when he has the chance ( which he steals from the bakery that his best friend Vash happens to work at), cares about the project just as much as you do and most importantly he’s always asking you questions trying to get to know you.

Usually in conversations with others it seems like you’re the one leading. Asking the other person about themselves but never getting the questions referred back to you.

With Wolfwood it’s the exact opposite, he’s asking all sorts of things. Like where you grew up, what you like to do for fun, what's your favorite lunch spot. It doesn't help that talking with him is so easy. You don't even realize the time ticking by and hardly any work has been done.

If only you knew that within all these questions he was harboring the largest crush and trying to get the courage to ask you out on a proper date.
