zhongli, who is known for being a member of liyue’s most powerful noble family, is the leader among your knights and the one who everyone outside the palace knew as your personal knight. not only does he have grace and politeness, but also has the experience of many wars, capable of protecting you from even a mighty dragon.

he’s the same knight who makes you tea that helps you sleep every night, telling you stories that seems too real to be fictional as you drink. sometimes, you couldn’t help but notice a sense of nostalgia from him whenever he tells you said stories.

you didn’t want to admit it, but he looks familiar as well, as if you’ve met him before despite the fact that you never once saw him whenever his family comes to your palace.

beidou, who is known for being the strongest pirate in the seven seas and is retired, is the knight who’s always by your side for when you travel around the seas. not only does she have a strong liver for being able to drink so many alcohol, but also has the experience of a pirate who had slaughtered the most feared sea monster, capable of protecting you from those who dare to try and infiltrate your ship.

she’s the same knight who takes you out from your palace and explore around town to help you feel relax from your duties as a ruler, letting you try out street foods and even made you try fishing for the first time by the docks. she sometimes tells you of what it was like back when she had her crew, her eyes full of longing.

you wondered what happened that led her to retire and have her crew split up.

alhaitham, who is known for being the most skilled and intelligent scholar in the infamous land of sumeru, is the brains of your group. not only does he have the intelligence of the grand sage of sumeru, but also has the experience of fighting off many fighters in a swordsman competition and won from it, capable of protecting you from those who dare to point their swords towards you.

he’s the same knight whose as sarcastic as he can be but helps you with your paperwork if you need extra help and is quite an amazing tactician as well whenever you need it. you didn’t mind his attitude and rationality, not when you sometimes find yourself waking up with a blanket on top of you every time you accidentally fall asleep from dealing with documents as alhaitham reads a book on one of the seats of your office.

you wondered how your royal advisor managed to persuade someone like him to be your knight.

kaeya, who is known for being the brother of the current grand duke of mondstadt, is the stealthiest of the group. not only does he have the best connections to get information about nobles who plot to kill you, but also has the access to come to every events you’re invited in as a member of the ragnvindr family and not as your knight, capable of protecting you from assassins and nobles alike in royal balls and events.

he’s the same knight who’s your drinking buddy besides beidou, listening to your rants and woes if you drank more than you can handle. he never tells you what you said to him, only commenting that “you’re one heavy sack of potato to carry whenever it’s time for you to head back to bed”. honestly, you’re kinda glad he never tells you about your drunk shenanigans.

though, sometimes you notice a flash of regret and sadness in his eyes whenever his brother is mentioned around him, staying more silent than usual.

itto, who is known for being…. itto, is the tank of the group. not only does he have the most intimidating image with marks all over his body and with the horns on his head, but also has super strength that could carry many heavy things such as a carriage, capable of carrying you and running away from the scene of a fight while protecting you.

he’s the same knight who gives you jokes and cheers you up whenever you feel drained and sad. he’s honestly quite funny and endearing, even more so when you play card games with him when you feel bored. you could never forget the time when he rapped for you as a birthday present, not minding how all the other knights look as if they’re dying inside at the sight.

you just wish that everyone sees him the same way you do and not see him as the scariest oni in the land who is rumored to have committed many unforgivable acts despite the fact that it is already proven that he didn’t do such things.

dainsleif, who is known for being the descendant of the most powerful captain of the knights back when your ancestors ruled over the land, is a mysterious one. not only does he have the training to be just as strong as his ancestor, but also has the experience of a traveler who has come far and wide around the world, capable of protecting you from those who came to kill you should you travel around other lands to meet up with other rulers.

he’s the same knight who tells you his travels and what it was like to be in such places whenever you ask him to, mentioning people he’d met and places that he could never forget. he’s quite hard to read, you’ll admit.

it’s safe to say you’re curious about this particular blonde traveler he mentioned sometimes, especially when he completely stops explaining for a moment.

kazuha, who is known for being the last living member of his family who died, is different from everyone among the group for his heightened senses. not only does he have the most ancient and powerful sword crafted by his family years ago, but also has the experience of standing against a ruler who uses magic with just his sword, capable of protecting you from those who try to hurt you with magic.

with his senses, he tells you if it’s going to rain today, if the food has poison in it, if a person is dangerous or not, and so on and so forth. however, due to his senses, he prefers to not stay in one place, leading you to make him explore around the palace everyday if he wishes to and see if he finds anything dangerous around your home.

he’s the same knight who escorts you whenever you take a stroll around the palace grounds, being as gentle and kind as he can be as he listens to you intently. sometimes he’d recite haikus he made just for you as you feel at peace with what you have with your knight.

seeing how he looks peaceful and contented with himself, you never questioned him about why he decided to become a wanderer after everything he went through.

overall, you’ve come to know your knights and grew close, finally trusting them as much as you trust your butler and royal advisor after seeing how dedicated and loyal they are to you.

you even find yourself catching feelings with one of them, but who?

bonus

kamisato ayato is one of the three rulers of inazuma, who was supposed to be your husband from an arranged marriage that your families agreed on. however, after your parents’ death as well as his, the both of you mutually agreed to not get married for the sake of prioritizing your people first (and also because marriage is not something you’re interested in).

ningguang is one of the nobles who you trust most and the one you talk to often in events. she’s quite intelligent and is never afraid to tell her opinions. she hides half of her face with her fan whenever you say something flattering about her success as she praises you for your hardwork in return, something that happens once in a lifetime for most people. you admit that she’s also one amazing dancer as well after dancing with her whenever you have the chance to (though, you feel a bit flustered from the fact that you almost step on her shoes sometimes).

diluc ragnvindr is also considered as one of the nobles who you trust most. when your parents died, he was the one who reached out to you first and helped you with your troubles before your early coronation. not only is he your penpal, but also the person who can understand your pain since he too lost his father and was forced to take the title of the grand duke too early. (he’s also the one who defended you when nobles gathered around to discuss about the future of the land after your parents’ death, angry that those pesky nobles have the audacity to say you’re not worthy to rule)

capitano is the current captain of the knights who was by your side when you were super cautious and scared of your surroundings after your coronation. he comforted you and reassured you that no matter what, you’re very well protected with him and with all of the knights of the palace. despite his cold demeanor, you have always appreciated his efforts in protecting you and easing your worries, never hesitating to thank him for what he has done. (you didn’t know the disappointment he felt underneath his mask when he knew he no longer has to be by your side anymore, but he was happy that you now feel even more safe with the new knights).

tartaglia is one of the princes from snezhnaya and is never afraid to tell you his undying love for you with every chance he gets ever since you won from your duel with him. you truly admire his unwavering determination for your hand in marriage, and you honestly didn’t have the heart to harshly tell him to stop. instead, you simply just say no whenever he asks you to marry him. besides, he knows his boundaries unlike some of your suitors and even killed one of the strongest beasts of snezhnaya on his own for your birthday gift: a long fur-coat that matches you very well. (if only you knew how he keeps asking your fellow knights to spar with him after finding out that you caught feelings for one of them, wanting to know just how strong the person who won your heart is).

scaramouche was once a person you’ve known since childhood. he was your dear companion who’s by your side until the announcement of your engagement with kamisato ayato. when you came to visit him after the announcement, it was as if he disappeared without a trace. you didn’t know what you did wrong, did you say something that made him run away? it was something you couldn’t find an answer to, and you silently gave him a farewell before going back to your palace defeatedly. it was only a few months after having your new knights when you suddenly have a visitor by your window, he looks far different than the scaramouche you knew back then. he looks more… evil and—

Good Boy/Girl [Pt 2]

Okay another post about like Good Boy/Girl because like. Some characters I just simp for. Last one was I want to make you extremely happy so I'll say it because I love you this one is when that one character that really flusters you says it.

Characters: Ningguang (Genshin Impact), Sunday (Honkai Star Rail)

Ningguang

Ningguang is always so busy, tirelessly working away, sometimes you have to remind her to take a break. When walking alongside her in the city of Liyue it's no surprise heads are turned and staring right at you.

More accurately, they're staring at her. If not for her fame as the Tianquan, then her beauty, the way her eyes pierce through every object and price she sees while shopping, calculating but not cold. The clothes she wears cling to her figure perfectly, they make her stick out but aren't gaudy. She is a God among mortals. You can't help but feel self conscious around her.

Your shoulders shift inward, and your back naturally slouches, hoping to appear as small as possible next to this colossal. You'd voice your worries to her before--

"What if people think I'm unfit for you? You can do better," Your voice lacked any confidence it normally had when you'd first met the Tianquan and flirted shamelessly with her, expecting to never be given a second glance.

"Does it matter? It is my decision if you stand by my side, and yours too," She replied confidently but her eyes gazed down at you full of warmth, a hand reaching out to your shoulder to hold it. An anchor, whenever your thoughts spiraled too deep that hand would be there.

You looked back at her, still worried, but moved your hand up to rest on top of hers. It was rather uncomfortable for you, and at the slightest change of your expression she moved her hand down to your heart. Your hand followed hers. A conversation with no words.

She smiled down at you, "Good Y/N."

You relaxed at the term of endearment, feeling your hand rest against hers which lay motionless on your chest. You looked up into her eyes, but you couldn't see any of Ningguang the Tianquan, you simply saw Ningguang, your lover.

-- "Y/N, what do you think of this necklace?" She suddenly asked you, pointing out one with a large gem in the middle. It was alright. You reached your hand out to hers.

"It's nice," You admitted, feeling your fingers interlace even through the gloves you could still feel the warmth, "It's not as beautiful as you though."

She let out a charming laugh, "Good Y/N."

Sunday (I love this man I can't wait until he comes out. Personality is going mainly based off of leaks.)

Sunday was lovely, everything you could want from an ideal partner. He was kind, caring, the epitome of perfection. Except he wasn't. You were one of the people that knew him best. Beneath everything he showed the public was a selfish creature.

"Y/N?" His voice was sweet, like an angels and you could trick yourself into thinking he was one if you tried hard enough.

You looked over at him wings fluttering from behind his head, normally calm and collected eyes holding a sense of anxiety. It was a stark difference from the Sunday you first met. Just that look of weakness on him made you want to forgive him.

You took your time with a pause, "What is it?"

You could see him struggling to form the words, shifting around uncomfortably. It wasn't often he had to speak like this to others, normally he would be the mediator, the diplomat, the leader-- not the problem.

"I'm sorry." It was only two words that were needed to soften your heart. You let out a long sigh, telling yourself to not let him off the hook just yet.

"For what?"

"It's just, there was an emergency meeting all of The Family was needed--"

Of course, that was his first reaction, Sunday was much to use to manipulating others. So, even when it no longer gave him pleasure or happiness, he'd default to it in a panic, "Save your excuses for later, tell me what you did first," You said sternly, "You told me to hold you accountable for the next time this happened."

He looked away from you for a moment, "I... I did tell you that, yes." His hands fiddled in his lap and you wished to take those gloves off and lay kisses on every knuckle. "I'm sorry for..." He closed his eyes tightly, as if he didn't want to see what would happen next.

Sunday took a deep inhale and then almost yelled out, "I'm sorry for shoving you off the bed in the middle of the night! I didn't mean to."

You let out a small laugh and walked over, sitting down next to him, "I know. I don't know why you even made me do this," You said sheepishly, looking down at his knees, "It's impossible to not forgive you when you make that face."

"This one?" He asked, and as your eyes moved up you were met with puppy eyes. In order to escape them you practically dove into his arms, holding onto him tightly, and burying your face into his chest.

"I hate that you're able to do that on command," You grumbled, it made you feel weak.

You could hear the smile in his voice, "Thank you, for holding me accountable though."

"It's dumb."

"Interrupting my darling's sleep is anything but dumb!" He quickly interjected, "I deserve to--"

You leaned up and silenced your mouth was his, moving fast enough to cut him off but moving away quickly, not wanting anything to escalate. The warmth of his lips followed you and you could still see them after he was silenced.

"You deserve love." You rested your head on his shoulder looking out the window at all of the city below you. One of his wings poked your cheek and you leaned into the plumage.

"I don't deserve you." His words were quiet but mattered nonetheless.

You turned to face him, and found his face turned to face yours putting the two of you nose to nose, breaths intermingled. "You deserve the world," You replied.

He flushed under your words, and you got the satisfaction of seeing his skin blossom with color. "You're so good to me... Good Y/N." He rested his face in your neck. You thought it would've been uncomfortable for him since your chin still rested on his shoulder but he didn't show any sign of discomfort.

"My Good Y/N," He said voice soft as his wings, and closed his eyes.

I just want someone to love who will love me, is that too much to ask?

Also question, for nonbinary folks and other people that like going by they/them what do you think is a good gender neutral term for good girl/boy? I went with good (name), here since I feel like that's chill but if you can think of anything else I'd be happy to hear it! :)

Your First Date-Genshin pt 2

Characters: Tighnari, Heizou, Wanderer, Kazuha x gn reader (separate)

Warnings: fluff and headcanons, so none ig

Note: this was really fun to write, and get away from school stress for a bit, i looooove you all

Tighnari

it would out in the forest(he made sure there was no fungi or anything to disturb u)

he would show you some really pretty flowers or mushrooms if you wanted(tho he wont make it similar to a lecture, only a little)

he maybe spaced out while looking at you, not his fault your so pretty, but gave a(n) (almost) shy apology after.

definitely picked flowers with you so you could have a fresh bouquet with the prettiest flowers you could find(he made sure none of them were deadly, or bad for you to be around)

you were given permission to pet his ears for a little after he caugt you looking at them for a little too long

^^he also let you cuddle his tail if you were cold(but he wont look at you since he doesn't want you to see how red he is)

overall a pretty good first date, if he could say so himself

Heizou

would talk non-stop about some cases he recently solved, wanting to impress you, even though you already are

took you to some fried food stalls around Inazuma city, ritou if you can handle the walk(ik i can´t)

he wanted to take you to do some puzzles with him, but figured he should make it more classic or romantic for your first date

^^maybe next time he´ll take you out to try and solve those puzzles

he got you your favorite flowers(if you like flowers) or a pot he tried to make for you, with the help of his family (which is very happy he wanted to make something, but didn't know he only put effort in bc it was for you)

kano, his cousin, and kujou sara also helped him actually ask you out, because at that point it was getting painful to watch him swoon over you every day

Wanderer

he didn´t even really agree with where he took you, Nahida just told him where to take you after she found out he (finally) asked you out

so he ended up taking you out somewhere in Sumeru city

(but maybe he also ended up leading you out of the city when people were got a little too loud and irritating for his liking)

didnt get you anything, as he didnt think he needed to, but the fact that his attitude was almost not there (when talking to you) was maybe a gift in itself

Nahida was so excited for your date, she may have borrowed someone's body for a while (at least 5-8 hours) and watched you

wanderer definitely noticed her presence, and tried getting away from her to get some complete alone time with you

^^when he finally succeeded you ended up falling on him, so he awkwardly let you sleep on his lap/shoulder while stroking your hair and getting lost in your beauty

Kazuha

your first date was probably on the crux, or wandering around in some nation (either his homeland or yours if you wanted, but that could always be another time)

the activities he had in mind would be fishing, making food together(or baking), sharing his haikus and poems (and helping you make some if you wanted)

^^i had too many ideas to put in here, sorry

but he would stroke your hair as you lay beside him and mutter his recent love poems, just for you

for the food you made, it would be something like fried/baked fish, hashbrowns... anything you knew how to make(basically), and sweets like dango or cake from your homeland

beidou and the crux may or may not have been following you, just for a little

^^she needed something to tell ningguang, as she was also invested in your relationship, and silently cheered on

after the fall of his homeland, khaenri'ah, he found refige in the ragnvindr household. but outside of that he had nothing else left. until you found him.

him and diluc were out with crepus doing whatever, he wasn't paying attention, and he spotted a small child seemingly getting told off by an adult. now kaeya, not knowing what minding his own business was, slipped away and got closer trying to hear what was being said. 'you know you cant be out if your condition!' 'i know but why cant i go out and have fun once in a while, it gets to boring being couped up at home' he watched as the child stuck out their toungue at the adult before they seemed to make a run for it while the adult was in shock and yet again he followed. now he was more invested in helping the child get away.

you took refuge in an alleyway not too far away, you could only run so far before getting into a coughing fit. putting a hand on your chest and sliding down the wall to hide behind a trash can, you noticed a shadow heading your way. but it seemed to be too small to be your caretaker so you ignored it. until a mop of blue hair stuck his head round the trash can you were sat behind. 'and who are you?' you stated slowly trying to stand up again. 'well who are you?' 'i asked first so you tell me who you are i tell you who i am' .... 'fine im kaeya' kaeya? you've never heard that name before 'and you are? cmon you said you'd tell!' 'hmph im [ ]'. kaeya then proceeded to ask what happened back there, feeling hesitant to answer and say the truth you simply explained how your stupid annoying caretaker/s wouldn't let you do anything. kaeya would've asked why but the shout of his name from crepus dragged his head up, looking like a deer in headlights, to face a angry but relieved crepus. and that's the day that gave him another thing to refuge in. you.

you two got on like a house on fire much to many people's dismay. eventually when the two of you got closer you told kaeya about your 'illness', of course it wasn't the whole truth just what you're caretaker/s told you(you were children afterall), and that made kaeya even more determined to help you escape from them. which often lead to kaeya helping you escape from bedrest just to end up with your caretaker/s dropping him off back at dawn winery and you back home. eventually kaeya started feeling a weird fluttering sensation in his stomach but he didn't understand what it meant so he jist ignored it. now he wishes he didn't.

as the two of you got older he started noticing your decline in health but every time he asked you, you just brushed it off and said you're fine. you both knew better. but getting older meant getting wiser. and unfortunately kaeya knew that one day something would happen to you. he still didn't understand what he felt when he was with you but he wanted you to atleast stay until he figured it out. but it seemed the archons and celestia themselves wanted to be nothing but cruel.

a festival was coming up soon and you both were feeling really excited about going. and this time he felt like instead of sneaking you out he would ask your caretaker/s directly. he knew they trusted him to look after you and bring you back safely. so he knocked on the door and was met with a caretaker whos seemed surprised at him standing on the doorstep. he aksed if he could go see you. 'im sorry dear but they passed just last night'. an icy cold reality smashed him in the face. he knew you wouldn't stay long. he knew about it all. but it still didnt dampen the sting. he left shortly after. he wasn't ready to grow up knowing you wouldn't be there one day. but it had happened and his fears only got worse.

now sitting at your polished grave he stared up at the sky 'i never understood my feelings then but i do now.. now its too late'.

she didn't exactly have an easy childhood. growing up in rags and barely scraping by. but she did have one thing, one thing that she cherised deeply. you two had met by pure chance. she had set up a small stall type business to sell trinkets and items she had made by hand and fatefully you were out on one of your few walks with your caretaker when you spotted the stall and the slightly cute stall manager. you begged to go over there and you had also begged to purchase a few of the items she had on sale as you found them absolutely adorable. ningguang thought not much of it aprat from knowing that you had probably given her quite a bit of mora to get by for probably a week if she rationed it more.

however not too long after that encounter. ningguang saw your face again headding towards her stall but this time no caretaker in sight. you introduced yourself and she simply asked if what you were doing when you gave her a small smile and went 'you looked lonely, i thought you could use some company'. she was confused, mainly, because why would she need company? she was perfectly fine on her own. but you simply insisted and with soem hesitance she let you stay but not before telling you if you impacted her sales you would have to go.

eventually you had became a normality in her life as ahe started actually making her way up in terms of mora, slowly but surely. and eventually you two were close enough to open up to her about your illness. this made her feel slightly bad about the way she treated you earlier on when you weren't her 'friend'(you insisted you were). but now she felt a motivation to not only improve her life, but yours aswell. she understood more that what you told her and she knew you probably wouldn't have that long and for some reason thinking like that made her feel uneasy about getting older.

getting older meant that at some point in her life you would not be here. she knew how she felt about you but she didn't think it was the time or place to bring something like that up. it was a losing battle. but time doesn't wait for anyone. now you were getting older and one day completely out of the blue you stopped visiting her. and she was no fool she knew what it meant. so she took some mora, she didn't care that she needed to save it for you she would spend as much as she felt she should (even if she didnt have that much), and left for your residence. she left her heartfelt regards and some flowers for your caretaker/s and left. ingnoring the pain that struck through her heart.

now she was probably the richhest person in tevyat. she had made her way up in the world. but there wasn't a single day that went pass that she didn't think if you and how she failed to make your life comfortable.

much of baizhu's childhood was spent buried in books and medical scripts. he had a lot to figure out. how to end the contract with changsheng, and many other ways to advice in the medical field. his master often just let him be afterall. he had already suffered the loss of his hometown, and his parents and his master was more than happy he chose to help advance in the physicians field. but one day he met a child that peaked his interest.

he had seen you in passing glances after visiting his master always accompanied by a caretaker and you always seem weak and fatigued. for some reason it reminded him of himself as for his interanl organs were diseased, leaving him with the rare and seemingly incurable disease. so he brought upon himslef to introduce himself to your caretaker/s, perhaps because you two shared a similarity, albeit morbid, but perphaps you would like to seek comfort in someone who understood what you were going through. although it seemed your condition was much worse than he expected.

compared to his condition, yours was worse but it seemed like you had appreciated the company upon your bedrest periods as well as the fact that your caretaker/s let you go out more often if baizhu accompanied you! and not just visits to his master, it was quite a change in pace and you couldn't thank him enough. and eventually seing baizhu became a routine. and baizhu actually found himself genuinely enjoying spending time with you.

but at the end of every day he was painfully reminded that you were probably not going to grow up with him like he ever so secretly wanted. changsheng seemed to want to remind him, quite often, that you would not last as long as him as changsheng seemed to understand his emotions more than him.

but the dreaded day came sooner than he thought. not long after his master had passed it had seemed you weren't too long after. now he had to grow older without you. and he knew that what he could do to keep your memory alive is swear to help evey patient he can. but he still wishes you could've grown up with him and maybe he could've built up the courage to confess.

he did not have much aspiration for what he wanted to do later in life when he was young. and that was okay not many people do. but he normally spent his mornings atleast strolling through the streets if mondstadt doing whatever he fancied, which normally wasn't much. but one day you had spiced up his life.

you had ran into thoma when you were trying to hide from your caretaker and you asked him to hide you no questions asked. thoma feeling confused simply offered to help you hide. he looked at the direction you came from seeing an adult looking for you, looking quite concerned he may add. but when the adult disappeared you said a quick thank you before running off into the crowd.

you later ran into the same child in a similar situation. but this time to you it seemed like fate, he helped you hide yet again and you decided maybe just maybe you could befriend him and it would be so much easier to go out. so you offered and thoma felt compelled to become your friend aswell and that started what thoma wished was a lifelong friendship.

later on in your spurred friendship, when he was showing you around his favourite places of mondstadt, he had to ask why you weren't allowed out. and you simply stated about your illness and thoma couldn't help but feel bad about bringing you out now. surely to feel better you should stay inside? but you assured him yiu were fine and that was that.

later on, he introduced himself to your caretaker/s and felt compelled to help you and look after you the way a friend would. maybe eventually more than a friend. but over the years your condition worsend and eventually it gave him the realisation that you would die before you two could grow up fully together. and he didn't want that but he couldn't help that. so maybe he could help you live what little time you had to the fullest.

but eventually time would claim your life before thoma was ready to lose you. but it happened and it hurt more than he thought it would.

but now years later, working as a housekeeper. he still remembers you. and he vows to help the kamisato clan in the ways he couldn't help you.

being 'self-taught' meant he spent his childhood mainly learning from home however his grandmother inisted that he still spent sometime outside, the fresh air would do some good. however he saw no such need but it was know that having fresh air did good for ones health so he didn't complain, that much. however one think he could of never expected was to find a child, seemingly someone close to his age, hiding just behind his grandmother's house.

he had a half a mind to go up to you and tell you to go, but as he approached you noticed him a bit quicker than he could speak to you and you grabbed him to pull him down next to you and slammed a hand over his mouth telling his to shush. he was shocked to say the least. but felt compelled to not say anything yet as he saw an adult walk past to the side of where the two of you were. but he did yank your hand of his mouth.

when you were sure your caretaker was gone you stood up and started going the opposite direction before the child you had told to shush grabbed your wrist 'aren't you going to apologize' you look at him simply stated sorry and proceeded to walk off. alhaitham was left confused and slightly annoyed but brushed it off with little concern. he was never going to see you again so why bother with something that small. well he was wrong.

you had decided during your next escape that the small alley behind that child's house was a good place to hide until the coast was clear. but this time alhaitham had spotted you again but for some reason that escaped him he felt like just letting you be, but when you looked at him when you noticed your caretaker actually going down the alley and hoped he would let ysou inside. and to his surprise he did.

and thats how the young scholar found himself finding an unlikely friendship with you. he was curious about your frequent escapes but you told him about the illness. in all the books he had read he had never heard of it. but eventually you two stopped meeting outside of you running away and formally introduced himself to your caretaker/s as he found it too informal just meeting on your escape attempts.

eventually you found a way into the young scholars heart. even though he tried not to let it happen as deep down he knew you wouldn't last, he knew one day the excitement you brought his life would fade and you wouldn't grow up with him. and sooner than he wanted you had passed. and for the first time he didn't want to grow up. he wished he had longer with you.

SUMMARY: The woman you oh-so-loved turned out to be using you as her former lover’s replacement, but does she realize her feelings for you when you two part ways?

“This would be all for the day, Assistant Y/n,” Zhongli flashed you a smile as he tidied the pile of documents and removed his glasses. He watched as you hurriedly fixed your desk as if you were in a hurry, but he paid no mind as he knew how eager you were to get some rest after a long day of work. “Thank you for your cooperation. Please get some rest.”

“Hehe~ No worries, Mr. Zhongli!” you grinned and pointed your thumb at yourself. “I’m happy to be of help! Don’t take it too hard on yourself, boss. We also have time to finish these documents Lady Hu Tao handed us. Hence, we don’t have to rush!”

Your energy was similar to Hu Tao’s—all bubbly like a ball of sunshine—and Zhongli gave you a close-eyed smile at your liveliness.

A certain someone reminds them of a captain’s boastful energy.

“I suppose you’re right.” Zhongli chuckled as he rose from the seat and opened the office door for you. You quickly fixed your bag as you didn’t want him to wait long. “May I ask why you’re more delighted today?” he asked, purely out of curiosity.

If you hadn’t known better, you would’ve blurted out that you were excited to see your lover—the Tianquan of Liyue: Lady Ningguang—after promising you that she wanted to spend time with you. However, she sternly told you not to disclose a single soul about your relationship because of safety reasons, but she never told you why.

Announcing your relationship will make things complicated for her to keep seeing a certain someone.

“O-Oh… I—” you stumbled, making Zhongli raise a brow and try to apologize for asking a sensitive question, but you replied first, causing him to abandon his apology. “I just really wanted to get home and rest!”

Zhongli knew that wasn’t the real reason, but he didn’t want to push buttons and make you uncomfortable. There were things he didn’t understand about mortals but spending time with you and Hu Tao—the people he cherishes in his life as a regular human being, not the God of Contracts—made him realize that humans are frail and emotional. Hence, he let your white lie pass.

“I see. Rest is key, after all,” Zhongli hummed as you two exited the funeral parlor. “Please rest well, Assistant Y/n. Have a nice evening.”

"You too, Mr. Zhongli. Goodnight!" you returned the gesture with a grin—your smile as precious as the finest jewel—before jogging to you and your lover’s shared home.

Though, you seemed to have never noticed how little time she stays in your house as she’s always in the Jade Chamber coped up with work. She mostly spends her time resting there instead of coming home to you. But it’s alright since she’s a busy woman. Barely spending time with your lover is normal, especially with a busy woman like her, right?

You skipped along as you thought about the time she finally promised you a date night. However, when you arrived, you found a letter on the floor in front of the door. It was for you. You picked it up and opened it, but you didn't have to read the whole thing as you recognized the handwriting. It was Ningguang’s. She would send you letters when she does overtime, apologizing for not being able to be there with you.

Your bright expression faltered into a sad and disappointed one, but you brushed the feeling aside as you understood why. Ningguang is the Tianquan of Liyue, so her work was more important than you. She represents the embodiment of Liyue, after all.

You knew the challenges of this secret relationship, but it started to hurt. But you can’t be selfish and have Ningguang all to yourself because she also had her needs to take care of. You’re grateful that she gives you freedom, but you never notice how she gives you too much of it as if she doesn’t care about what you do.

There’s no reason for her to keep you to herself when someone else is there for her.

You never noticed any negativity she does to you. You’re so drunk on your love for her that you don’t notice them. Even if you knew, you would trick your brain into thinking it was normal because she held a high position.

You gave everything to Ningguang: your love, body, time, and effort. But was there a time she gave all of herself to you? Maybe, but it didn’t matter as long as she wanted you by her side. You’re already content with having her as your lover even if you ached for more affection from her.

Instead of waiting for her to come home, you decided to visit her. Waiting for her would end up in you falling asleep and not seeing her for the past who knows how many days. You bought the most beautiful Glaze lilies on the way there—no matter how much they cost you.

The flowers reminded you of Ningguang: elegant and beautiful. You smiled at the thought of how she would react when you gave them to her. It didn’t matter if she simply took them out of your hands like always. The only thing you cared about was that she took them from you as it silently showed you that she liked them.

Oh, how you were wrong about that. You wouldn’t see the bouquets piled in the trash under the desk after you leave the floating palace. Ningguang only kept a dried Glaze lily you didn’t give her, but from a captain, you barely know.

The dried flower held more importance to her than the flowers you bought.

Upon your arrival in the Jade chamber—happily holding the bouquet in your hands—the staff outside the palace stiffened. Their eyes widened as if they'd seen a ghost. You looked back at them confused but made your way inside, ignoring their gazes, as you thought it was a natural response for an uninvited guest to be here.

But you didn’t need permission since you’re the Tianquan’s lover, right? You don’t know if Ningguang’s staff knew about your relationship. Did she even tell them so that you could freely roam around her domain? She should’ve because the grandpa wouldn’t let you up to the Jade Chamber in the first place if he didn’t know about your relationship. But before you could approach Ningguang's office, Baishi—one of Ningguang’s three secretaries—stopped you.

"M-Ms. Y/n. I apologize, but you mustn't enter," Baishi explained as she saw you walk on the pavement of the floating palace. Her voice was shaky—her hands fidgeting—clearly surprised to see you here. “Lady Ningguang forbids anyone to visit her at this time.”

"Why…? Is she alright??" you questioned, concern starting to envelop you. Ningguang is a healthy woman. For her to catch a cold out of nowhere was out of the question. Whatever it was, you were worried. 'Is Ning perhaps unwell? She can’t be,' you thought. “I just wanted to visit her then go back…”

"N-No…” Baishi trailed off. She seemed to become more nervous each second you stayed in the Jade Chamber. “I-It's just—She didn’t want anyone to interfere while she does overtime. Ms. Y/n, I need you to leave—"

You didn't even let her finish as you rushed toward Ningguang’s office. The secretary ran after you, telling you to stop, but you didn't listen. You were too worried to process what was happening that your body reacted by itself. You needed to know about your lover’s condition.

However, the adrenaline rush didn’t prepare your heart for what was behind the office doors, which was a big mistake. Because as soon as you gently opened the door—to not bother her with the sudden noise—your eyes widened as you saw Ningguang—your lover, your world—making out with the captain of the Crux. You left the door ajar and stumbled a few steps in shock.

The Captain had propped Ningguang onto her desk and wedged herself between Ningguang’s legs as they languidly kissed each other—Beidou’s arms caged Ningguang’s figure. Beidou’s hands roamed the woman only you had the authority to touch. But was that really the case? Not when it seemed like Beidou knew how to touch Ningguang like the back of her hand.

Your heart dropped even more as you saw Ningguang’s body language toward the Captain because she never showed you this side of hers. She was aroused and attracted—every emotion that she never showed you. You almost didn’t recognize her with how improper and disheveled her hair and attire were. You never noticed how she kept things professional between you two, even if you two had sex.

There was no need for Ningguang to show that side to you because it only belonged to the Captain.

Your body felt numb—so numb that you didn’t notice how your hands were shaking, making you drop the bouquet on the floor—and frozen in place. You wanted to shout at Ningguang for doing this to you, but you couldn’t because you were at fault too. You were too blinded with love to realize you weren’t enough for her and that someone like the Captain was more capable of providing her needs, not you.

You felt so lost. Overthinking clouded your thoughts, making you fall into the spiral abyss. You felt demons hold your limbs, trying to drag you into the darkness. You heard them mocking you for your naivety, but they were right. You got caught up in this mess because you were naive, thinking Ningguang genuinely loved you even if you had nothing to offer her.

Ningguang didn’t care if you had nothing as long as you kept reminding her of the Captain.

Lips smacking against each other, ragged breaths, and moans invaded your mind—not until Baishi’s voice snapped you out of this painful trance.

“P-Please take her away!” Baishi yelled as she instructed the guards following her.

Two Millelith hesitantly approached you and gently asked you to leave before they had to escort you out of the Jade Chamber using force, but guilty expressions painted their faces as they saw you silently crying.

The commotion outside the office made Beidou and Ningguang pause their affair as it interfered with the mood. Ningguang tidied herself—a ticked expression painted her face from being interrupted—and walked towards the door while Beidou stayed and sat on your lover’s office chair. She became slightly confused when she noticed the door ajar. Nevertheless, she fully opened it and saw two guards towering over someone.

She never allowed you to sit on her office chair, only the Captain.

“I did tell all of you to not disturb me, did I not?” Ningguang husked, making the guards flinch and turn to her with guilty faces. Both parted—like the sea parting in half—and scurried away from the scene as she walked towards them.

Ningguang’s heart dropped, and her face paled as she saw your figure with your head hung low—tears plopping on the floor.

“Y-Y/n…Why are you crying, dear?” She wanted to slap herself for the stupid question. She knew you must’ve seen everything based on the ajar door, yet she acted as if nothing happened.

Her trembling hand hesitantly approached your cheek even though she expected you to avoid her touch. To her surprise, you let her, but she shivered when your skin felt cold against her gloved hand. It seemed like she was touching a corpse—a human void of life.

You were always warm to the touch, just like the Captain.

“Y/n…Talk to me…” Ningguang mumbled—her lips quivering as she spoke—as her other hand held your other cheek and gently held your face so that your eyes could meet hers. She shuddered when lifeless eyes met hers.

Your eyes showed a glint of regret, hurt, and betrayal. Ningguang was so used to seeing a joyful shine in your eyes that it sometimes aggravated her with how lively you were. It felt like she drained all of your life source from the pain she gave you.

“Y/n…Please talk…”

Ningguang never said your name this many times whenever you met her. You would’ve been happy if it were another circumstance, but it only wounds your heart now. Why was she only saying it that affectionately when she made a mistake? Was she trying to make you forgive her? Maybe.

Something in her made her want to make you stay so that she has company when Beidou leaves for another adventure.

“Don’t say my name with so much affection. I know you don’t mean it,” you finally spoke, sniffles intervening with each word. “I-Is this what you do whenever you send me a letter when you work overtime…?”

You never realized how she only sent those letters whenever the Captain’s ship was decked in the Harbor.

“Y-Y/n—”

“Answer me. Please,” you bitterly cut Ningguang off as you looked away—not able to bear the pain of looking at her any longer. She never looked at you with so much affection until now, or maybe it was only guilt?

Ningguang’s jaw clenched as her features expressed guilt. You never used this solemn and cold tone to her, and it felt like something was gnawing at her heart with each word you said.

“...Y-Yes.”

“D-Did you ever think about me before you went further…?”

Ningguang looked away and slowly released your face from her hold. Tears were building up in her eyes, and her hands balled into fists. Her lips were pursed, refusing to answer you because she knew it would only hurt you.

She never thought about you, even if she was with or without Beidou.

You didn’t need an answer because you already confirmed it from seeing them together. You didn’t know why you asked. Maybe your hormones are out of control from crying so much that you started blurting out nonsense. Maybe something in your heart hoped you held a place in Ningguang’s heart despite her adultery.

“Why did you give me false hope, Ningguang…?” you cried. The way her name bitterly rolled out of your mouth caused her tears to roll down her cheeks. You used to call her with so much love, but she messed up, and now the affection she took advantage of is gone. “Why did you make me think I was enough for you—enough to stand by your side??”

Those were tears of guilt, nothing more.

“Y-You’re more than enough, Y/n…I-I don’t know why I kept coming back to her—” she approached you to engulf you in an embrace, but you kept moving backward “—We…we aren’t together anymore, so I—”

Excuses.

“Did you ever love me for who I was?” you cut her off again. Tears flowed down your face as you came to a realization. “...Or did you keep me by your side because you reminded me of her? …Was I just Beidou’s replacement?”

Ningguang’s eyes widened, making her freeze in her spot. It felt like her heart had been pierced by every sharp object that existed. Everything about you and what you did reminded her of the Captain, but something held her back from loving you as you were. Something was different between you and Beidou despite having similar traits. It didn’t feel the same.

Was she really using her as Beidou’s replacement? Yes, she did. You were someone who could fill the space in her heart, but you weren’t the person she loved. But something in her made her keep you by her side, even if it made you look like a disposable toy.

The only reason you became her lover was to be Beidou’s replacement.

“If you wanted to use me, you could’ve said so. I would’ve agreed if our relationship was merely contractual,” you bitterly smiled at Ningguang. “But you didn't have to get my hopes up thinking I could stand beside you…I devoted myself to you like I’m worshiping my god because you were my everything, Ningguang!”

Ningguang guiltily watched you vent your heart out. She saw how you clutched your chest in pain and how your eyes were swollen from crying too much. The state you’re in wasn’t the sunshine she knew, but she couldn’t complain because it was her fault for making you this way—for hurting you. After all, you loved her with all your heart while she indecently used you as Beidou’s replacement.

She didn’t have the right to talk because there was nothing to explain. Trying to reason with you for her actions was merely coming up with excuses.

“You don’t know how much I sacrificed to make you happy with what I have because I'm nothing compared to you! I was glad you chose me to be your lover, but it hurt to love you. I understood how busy you were and that you rarely spent time with me. I understood how your work was more important than me. After all, you're the Tianquan of Liyue! But you didn’t—YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO USE ME WHILE I THOUGHT I WAS CAPABLE ENOUGH TO BE BY YOUR SIDE!”

It was your last straw before you fell on your knees and cried—your hands grasping your face, trying to mask yourself from her. You felt pathetic for not handling this more professionally, but you couldn’t. All this pent-up pain wanted to be known—it wanted Ningguang to know how much she abused your love.

Ningguang shakily kneeled in front of you and engulfed you in a tight hug—with her shaking hands—as she cried with you. She knows she messed up and that she took advantage of your love. She can’t bear imagining how much pain you put aside to shower her with all you had while she saw her old lover in you. She felt so despicable.

“I’m sorry, Y/n. I’m so sorry,” Ningguang cried as she held the back of your head. Why was she so affected by you seeing her cheat? There wouldn’t be any reason for feeling remorse if she didn’t feel anything for you. But was it love? “Please don’t forgive me. Please. I don’t deserve your forgiveness.”

“I hate you,” you mumbled between sobs as you hit her shoulder. Ningguang hissed at the pain and your statement but held you tighter in her arms. Her pain is nothing to what you’ve experienced. “I hate that I still love you.”

“Don’t say that. I don’t deserve you. I deserve your hate for taking advantage of you,” Ningguang clenched her jaw as she buried her head in your shoulder, tightly closing her eyes to refrain from crying. “I’m a despicable woman. I don’t deserve your love, Y/n.”

She never realized how much comfort your body heat gave her until now. It was a different comfort from what Beidou gave her, but she liked it. However, it’s too late for her. You’ve already slipped away from her arms even if she tried to hold you from escaping.

It’s been a year since you parted ways, and Ningguang is conflicted. She doesn’t know if her love for Beidou made her keep you by her side or if your affection made her love Beidou more because of your similarities. But she knows one thing: that she hurt you so much.

Her heart clenched with pain when you ascended to the Jade Chamber for the last time to pick up your stuff and return hers from your home a week after you two broke up. She also ended things with Beidou, and Beidou visited you at your house to apologize. You forgave her because she didn’t know about your relationship with Ningguang.

Ningguang saw the usual bouquet of Glaze lilies you dropped on the floor that day. But instead of throwing it like used to, she threw the dried flower Beidou gave her and preserved the bouquet you gave her despite being disheveled from being dropped on the floor.

She spends most of her days longingly looking at it and remembering the times you happily gave her the bouquets she had thrown away—sometimes crying as she clutched the bouquet against her chest. Her secretaries would even find their lady talking to the drying Glaze lilies with so much affection.

Everything reminded her of you as if you were still physically with her. It’s driving her insane, but this might be the gods’ punishment for how she treated you. She wishes she could treat you better in another life and would even go on her knees to beg you for a second chance. But she’s scared. She doesn’t want to hurt you again.

She tells herself that you ought to have someone who would treat you equally as you do because she may never have a second chance. She aches to hold you again in her arms and treat you tenfold for the affection you gave her.

But one question keeps bothering her. Was she feeling love toward you after realizing how much you loved her and wished to treat you better? Or did she simply want to repay you for your affection to rid her guilt?

Maybe there will be a fated day that gives her an answer when she sees you again.

K. AYATO

— now if you thought he was clingy and overbearing before, be prepared for that to TRIPLE once you start living together

— you tell him constantly to ‘not go overboard’, but this is the head of the yashiro commission we’re talking about so of course he won’t listen

— he S P O I L S YOU , you simply gazed at some pretty jewellery on your walk today ? it’ll be sitting on your vanity desk the next morning, said you were craving some food ? he’s having it prepared right away

— now this man is a classic and dare i say traditional romantic, so you will get the sappy ‘breakfast in bed with a kiss on the forehead’ treatment every morning before he heads off to his duties

— every single day no matter how busy he is, he will give you a bouquet of flowers accompanied with some kisses, because hey who doesn’t enjoy some flowers (me, i have hayfever)

— before you he just let thoma clean up around the place, but now with you it feels rather intimate to him to complete some chores together , it just makes him happy

— overall 20/10 , wife husband material !!!

K. AYAKA

-- another one that completely spoils you rotten, but in a much more subtle way (at least she hopes because if she comes off as clingy she’ll probably hide herself from you until the next century)

— one thing she will absolutely never get tired of is hand holding , to the majority something like handholding is just a normal custom to any sort of relationship

— BUT !! to ayaka , it’s something that she finds to be a form of comfort, it makes her feel so much more comfortable and safe knowing that you won’t be leaving her any time soon

— what she loves even more than that is kisses, the passionate and chaste ones are always lovely and welcome however the ones she really prefers are the ones where you’re both laughing over something stupid - it makes everything seem so much more real to her

— she literally loves the random moments where you just twirl her around, it could be simply to give her a greeting or even a hug , but for some reason it makes her heart flutter

— your anniversaries would be so nicely organised and beautifully done , she’d probably plan months in advance because she just wants you to know that she loves you much more than she can show

— ayaka is very prone to loneliness, and having someone with her who she’s able to cherish and be so close with makes every hardship she faces worth it, every day when she’s done with her duties or even while she’s still performing them, she’s dreaming of being there with you

ZHONGLI

— this old ass man istg (affectionate)

— he will pester you SO much about your physical and mental well-being , always telling you, “ai ren, you’ll strain your eyes if you keep looking at those papers in the dark, come to bed,” OR ,”darling, i’m not sure venting your frustrations on some hilichurls will solve your problems, but im always free to listen.”

— now that he’s trying to live out his ‘mortal life’, he’ll definitely start appreciating and noticing minor details about you; whether that be your mannerisms, your tonal shifts, to your laugh or even your posture

— since he’s still technically an archon he just sorta ditched his job because he couldn’t be asked, he doesn’t necessarily need sleep BUT he absolutely adores the nightly routine you two have (once he finally coaxes you into going to bed that is)

— cooking is most certainly one of his favourite activities to do with you, not only is it enjoyable he gets to see you dance around the kitchen trying to find utensils and ingredients - honestly just looking at you doing anything makes him have the most love stricken expression on his face.

NINGGUANG

— now if you thought the kamisato siblings spoiled you, the tianqian takes that to the extreme

— if your gaze even lingers on an object for a second ningguang will have it in your possession in the next minute or so , ‘anything my dearest wants they’ll get’ that’s basically her motto

— she literally creates a room just for you in the jade chamber that she allowed you to decorate however you wished (most of the jade chamber has your touches added to it anyway)

— early mornings with ningguang don’t last long but they’ll always leave an impact on you both for the rest of the day , you’ll wake up with limbs tangled together and with your bodies pressed closed together, ningguang will give you special morning kisses to help boost your energy for the day but it honestly makes you just yearn for her more and distracts you

— she’s a rich and powerful chinese auntie ok, and she absolutely adores little kids she wants nothing more but for them to be happy and healthy - so when she sees you with kids her heart just simply explodes (crystallises? lol)

— “how can just a singular person be so precious and adorable … rex lapis thank you.”

— will ask about your thoughts on starting and raising a family, nothing too major of course maybe just one or two kids. anything you’re up for, she’s more than willing !

XIAO

— he’s been through way too much (especially after that new quest..) and being able to come to you and safely say “i’m home” genuinely makes him feel so loved and happy for once

— one thing he really enjoys while staying at home with you, is being cared for. you always reassure him that it’s just what he deserves, and your not doing any of this out of pity but out of love, and he absolutely knows that and cherishes that fact.

— wether it be back massages to relieve stress, cute little at home dates, intriguing conversations at three am as neither of you can fall asleep - xiao holds it all dear in his heart

— xiao doesn’t really have much of a morning ? i mean he doesn’t sleep and if you try to coerce him you’ll get turned down with the “i’m not mortal, i’ll be fine.” - but as soon as he says that line you respond back with the “but i’ll be so lonely without you” and he is dragging you to bed with you

— when you finally wake up together it’s the prettiest sight anyone could bear the witness of seeing, both of your bodies entangled together with xiao’s arms strongly hugging your waist in attempt to close the non existent gap between you

— he insists that this is all “useless” and that he’s waiting precious hours of the day, but with the loving way his eyes gaze at you ever morning and the way he tucks locks of your hair away from your face to look at you - it’s impossible to believe him

— your nighttimes are usually just spent with you coddling him and perhaps singing or humming a sweet melody to him

— kids are out of the question with him btw , buuutttt maybe if you begged enough times-

genshin impact edition pt. 2

a/n: i wasn't gonna make one of these again but i thought it would make for nice writing practice. I'll be including the Liyue ladies :D inbox is still open as usual! I'll be doing request slowly but if you just wanna share ideas, your own headcanons, ask questions, or promote yourself then pls send them in :D also i most definitely forgot ppl, it's really late and i have to wake for school in like 6 hours 😭 there is mistakes so pls ignore them

Ningguang: 7/10, only because if she didn't have to keep up appearances she could totally catch you

given that you both are somewhere decently public, you are falling to the ground

Of course she'd crouch down to check on you to see if your alright

but she'll lean down closer to you, covering her mouth and say

"that was a very dumb thing of you to do. Don't you feel even the slightest bit of shame my love?"

in private she might entertain you with catching you

if it's in her bedroom, then she'd catch you then teasingly toss you on to her bed

Beidou: 10/10, best one honestly and the muscle😩

Captain Beidou is definitely catching you and not putting you down

If she's docked and out walking in the Liyue Harbor, she excepts you to run at her and jump into her arms

it's a tradition at this point

it's also a way for her to show off how strong she is

probably doesn't put you down

god i love Beidou so much

Ganyu: 2/10, she's getting this rating because she's pretty

Ganyu absolutely could it's just she was probably half asleep or thinking about something else

You both fall to the ground and she just stays still for a moment before asking if you're okay

she's very giggly about it

Yunjin was very sure she could've stayed standing but it appears that she should've braced herself a bit more

gives you small pecks while laughing

asks to try that again as she wants to be able to catch you and twirl you around

tries to find a better and more stable area for you to try again

"Do you mind if we try that again? I was quite excited to twirl you around in my arms, so if you do mind let's try again."

Shenhe: ?/10, she catches you but like she drops you?

honestly, i think you'd be more shocked that she caught you

It would take her a few moments before she starts get a bit red and then she drops you

like gently drops you

coughing she turns away from you and tells you not to do it again

and then leaves

leaving you confused

Yelan: 9/10??? i honestly have no clue lol

She'd catch but in a like teasing way

makes comments about how desperate for her attention you must be and how lucky you are that she caught

squeezes you against her and gives you a closed eyed smile

"Oh how interesting, I must've rolled something good to get you to fall into my arms. If you wanted to get close to me all you had to do was ask."

Now Yelan doesn't put you down, instead she carries you someplace and sits down with you in her lap

You're not leaving her lap

Better yet she has plans to go play poker later and she needs a lucky charm

it just so happens that she's decided that you look quite lucky and you'd look nice on her lap :>
