The Weekend Pt. 3......
(Previous)
It’s been nearly two months since things went down between me, my sister and Sean. Dana forgave him for messing with Julia and despite my best efforts, he went back home. While they moved on and continued planning their wedding, I distanced myself again. Opening up those old wounds made me bitter, angry and hell bent on making sure I got my "lick back". I didn’t care what it cost, Sean had to pay for breaking my heart. I wanted to confess everything to Dana sooner but I realized doing it during that time wasn't the way to go. Humph, with how I was feeling, something misdirected and reckless surely would have come out my mouth. Now that I’ve calmed down, I’m ready to tell her all of it. Even though Sean is the catalyst for this, Dana has a right to know. It’s going to hurt without my sister in my life, but I put myself in this position. Damn...We really do reap what we sow.
The Following Week.....
"Shit! Girl, you scared me." I said, trying to catch my breath.
"My bad...Just making sure you're good. I mean, the way you ran out the kitchen..."
"I know, I know...I'm fine though. Thanks for lookin out."
"Of course...But umm, are you sure you're good? You've thrown up almost every day for a week now."
"Yeah, but you know how sensitive my stomach is. I've been eating too much dairy. Plus the smell of eggs always makes me nauseous, it just got to me today."
"I understand that but..."
"But what? What are you trying to say?"
"It might be morning sickness."
"Look, I appreciate your concern but it's not possible."
"Nothing is one hundred percent, Dee. Your sugar daddy may be older but I'm sure he still has swimmers."
"Okay eww, he ain't that old. He's fifty but the odds of that happening are less than one percent." I said, doing a cutting motion.
"Well still, if you wanna check I have some tests upstairs. Don't ask." *both snickering* "You gone find out either way so..."
"Fine ho, I'll do it." I laughed, rolling my eyes.
"I don't know why I'm so nervous...Did it come up yet?"
"........."
"Mimi??"
"Ummm, Yeah...It's positive."
"Positive??? Nah, that can't be right." I said, grabbing the test in complete disbelief. "Fuck!...Maybe it's a false result."
"A false positive?? You're my bestie but..."
"I know. This is fuckin crazy though. I swear he definitely had a vasectomy. I was even nursing him back to health. "
"Seems like you were doing more than that." *smirking*
"This is not the time, Mimi." I said, smiling although fearful and in shock.
Trying to make sense of this, I started to put together a timetable in my head. I thought about how long I've missed my period, how long I've been feeling sick and who I've had sex with. As my stomach sank, Mimi asked question, reminding me of the shit storm that is to come.
"Are you still having your sister over later or is that off the table?

Kon was visiting small town and trying to take a little bit of a breather.
Sometimes things got to be a little too much. For instance, he recently found out that due to some weird niche law, he wasn't a person. He was property.
So even if he ever got tired of essentially being owned by CADMUS, it was them or some government branch called the GIW.
And no one knew anything about the GIW.
So even if he wasn't really with CADMUS anymore, he would never be free of them. Which was. Not great.
So he was just. Taking a small breather.
Sitting on a curb, eating some burgers, and just vibing.
Then someone grabbed both of his shoulders in a death grip.
"Dude, what-?"
"-I'm sorry, but I need you to stay still or I'm gonna get got." A panicked teen voice hissed.
Kon turned his head; there was a scrawny teen with unnaturally clear blue eyes, black hair, and a white knuckled grip on Kon's shoulders as he desperately tried to...keep his feet on the ground?
Then a van came tearing around the corner, with the letters GIW stamped across it. The men that left it were wearing white suits, and were clearly keeping an eye on the terrified kid trying to pretend like he wasn't about to float out of some sort of fear response.
Oh.
Oh, this was another clone. One without the protection of CADMUS or Kal.
Yeah, no.
He's got the kid in his arms and was flying over the mid-sized city in an instant, right before pivoting and retreating to Metropolis.
He needed Kal for this. The man was over his thing about clones, and Kon couldn't face the American Government alone.

I Was a Teenage Exocolonist flew under my radar until a friend recommended it to me, and now I am fully obsessed so here's me passing the recommendation on!
Do you like visual novels? Skill management? Timeloops? Deckbuilding? Gorgeous art? A whole bunch of fantastic queer characters? Staggering numbers of events and endings that respond to a staggering number of choices you make?
Then you should play this game and come scream in my ask box about it! I have said both "uh-oh" and "yesssss" out loud multiple times while watching the consequences of my actions play out. Absolutely delightful. Enjoy a little bit of screenshot propaganda:
Living my best/worst life
Exploring in the pink

Also, you can have up to four different pets following you around and one of them is THIS cutie

― Elena Ferrante, The Story of a New Name
[text ID: I am what I am and I have to accept myself; I was born like this, in this city, with this dialect, without money; I will give what I can give, I will take what I can take, I will endure what has to be endured.]

I like Strange New Worlds but boy is their Spock behavior strange.
"taking out" the Vulcan in Spock should make his body feel off but ffs he's still Spock. I don't think they intended it this way but the way they wrote this whole scenario is like having an AfroLatina character "lose" their Latina side and suddenly not be able to make a tortilla or speak their native spanish. I mean. What?
Their whole narrative on him being human and Vulcan and showing "human" as like the fun/passionate side he's denying himself is starting to feel very anti-Vulcan, which in its own way feels super white centrist. We can go all in on the bacon scene but I'm not Jewish so more knowledgable Jewish people about the cultural *disaster* that choice was can cover the mess that is but... Yikes.
They've even done mixed race struggles better with other characters. B'Elanna in Voyager has a great arc reconciling her Klingon and human sides throughout multiple episodes and none of them imply weird shit like this. They all encourage her to accept herself where's she's at, no matter how much Klingon or human "percentage" that means. It just means both.
And in all fairness, B'Elanna's portrayal is in no way perfect but its better than *this*.
Someone on Twitter said this would've been a much more impactful episode if Spock spent all of it fearing he'd lose all connection to his Vulcan side, only to realize that (like his human adopted sister!!) He is still a child of Vulcan regardless of his geneology/biological makeup. But nah. This. *Bacon*.
After such a strong story about hope, augments, refugees, and prejudice a few episodes ago we get this? Shenanigans.
