how i got rid of my body acne and achieved the smoothest skin ever and also plan on keeping it hydrated during the colder months 🫧🧼🧴🚿
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i absolutely love and adore the naturium brand it really has transformed my skin and helped it so much ive used each product separately but get the best results using them together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THESE TWO BODY WASHES RIGHT HERE! ive had body acne for as long as i can remember and these two washes have magically made them go away. i notice when i use other body washes my skin tends to revert back into breaking out but these body washes help my skin so much and clear up my skin so well. i still am left with the scarring but they also have a vitamin c body wash for skin brightening that also exfoliates that i want to try out for my scars.
ROUTINE FOR SMOOTH HYDRATED SKIN:
1. the first thing i do is dry brush, you might not be able to tell the difference in the beginning but you will after and especially after consistent use.
2. the next thing i do is shower like normal and use shower tools to really help clean my skin whether it’s an exfoliating glove, wash cloth, loofah, exfoliating wash net, etc…(i recommend an exfoliating glove and wash net for a deeper wash and for extra smooth skin as well you will definitely notice a difference in the texture of your skin after!) i also of course use the two body washes i listed above, the salicylic acid one first then the multi-oil body wash after.
3. the thing that seals the deal…a body oil! yes you are going to use it right after you shower with water still dripping on your skin! (i pat very little water off my body so im not sopping wet reaching over for my body oil) but the water is the key into locking in the moisture when you rub the body oil in the water will be absorbed into your skin and you will not be soaking wet anymore, and the way your skin will feel after? SOOOO SMOOTH!!
after this i like to still layer on my smells through body lotions, body mists and perfumes because these have zero to little fragrance to them
the body oil i use is the palmers coconut body oil which is very affordable going under $10 i believe and this brand has been very good to my skin as well i love their coconut line. and another affordable drug-store body oil is the neutrogena one both unscented and scented i don’t have it personally (which will probably change soon tbh) but ive smelled and felt it in person before and loved it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this routine gets my skin nice and smooth every time im soo obsessed, i hope this helps! ♡

Note
do you have any tips on hormonal pimples? or like teen pimples (idk what they r called) because i have so much of them but none of these toners and serums are helping.
Make sure to wash your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser. Avoid scrubbing your skin too hard, this can make acne worse.
Look for products that are labeled as "non-comedogenic," which means they won't clog your pores. This is especially important for makeup and moisturizers.
Products containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid may be helpful in treating acne. Start with a lower strength and gradually increase if needed.
Prescription strength retinoids can be very effective in treating acne, but they can be irritating to the skin. Talk to your doctor and start with a lower strength and use as directed.
Here are some product recommendations:
Cleansers:
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash
Moisturizers:
Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat Mattifying Moisturizer
Salicylic Acid Products:
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution
Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
Benzoyl Peroxide Products:
Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel
Acne.org 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment
Non-Comedogenic Sunscreen:
Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sunscreen SPF 30
EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46
Spot Treatments:
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment
The food you eat is super important for how your body's hormones work. Hormones are messengers that your body makes to control your growth, metabolism etc. They travel through your blood and tell different parts of your body what to do. Eating a good mix of healthy foods helps keep these hormones in check. Things like protein, good fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals help make and control hormones. For example protein is needed for hormones like insulin and growth hormone, while healthy fats help with hormones like estrogen and testosterone.
Also, when you're stressed a lot, your body makes more of a hormone called cortisol, which can mess up other hormones. Moving your body through exercise can help with hormones by reducing stress and making you feel happy. Also, sleep is really important. Not getting enough sleep can mess up hormones that control hunger and fullness.
So, eating healthy foods, managing stress, staying active, and getting enough sleep are all really important. They help keep your hormones in balance and make sure your body works well.
Most importantly, don't let acne affect your self-esteem. You are beautiful just the way you are! Pimples are very normal and they do not take away from how amazing you are <3

Reveal Your Bollywood Glow: Unveiling Celebrity-Inspired Skincare Secrets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This blog is going to be all about Indian & bollywood inspired products and skincare tips. If you also want a blog separately about Indian natural and authentic skincare or hair care I'll surely make it. 🫶
Know Your Skin Type : Identify your skin type - whether it's oily, dry, combination, or sensitive - to tailor your skincare routine effectively.
Cleanse Like a Star : Use a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil or Neutrogena to remove dirt and makeup and a oil cleaner is a must if you wear makeup daily. Opt for micellar water for a quick and effective cleanse on busy days. (But I don't really recommend it).
Exfoliate for Radiance : Incorporate a mild exfoliator like St. Ives Apricot Scrub or The Body Shop's Vitamin C Glow-Revealing Liquid Peel to slough off dead skin cells and reveal glowing skin. And my personal favorite coffee scrub from The Bombay shaving company. Don't exfoliate more than twice a week.
Hydration Is Key : Use a hydrating toner such as Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray for an instant boost of hydration or toner + mist from pilgrim works like magic (my fav 😭).
Targeted Treatments : Include a serum with ingredients like hyaluronic acid (for hydration) or vitamin C (for hyperpigmentation) if you are under 17 or 18 like me don't use vitamin c or if you want to use in very less %, I use 2% kojic acid for my uneven skin tone from pilgrim, it's very begniner friendly. (Always consult a dermatologist for your skincare don't go around seeing videos on insta and YouTube believing them). I recommend Minimalist if you want chemical bases serums.
If you are above 23 or 25 Incorporate a retinol-based cream like RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream for anti-aging benefits. (Got this tip from mumma for y'all 😭✨️)
Sun Protection Essentials : Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, such as La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Fluid, to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. More affordable and effective sunscreens from brands — dot and key, aqualogica, Dr. Seth and wish care.
Overnight Nourishment: Use a hydrating overnight mask like Laneige Water Sleeping Mask to replenish moisture while you sleep. Incorporate a facial oil like The Ordinary's Rose Hip Seed Oil for added nourishment and radiance.
DIY Treatments Inspired by Bollywood:
- Try a turmeric, gram flour and yogurt face mask inspired by Priyanka Chopra for glowing skin.
- Use aloe vera gel like Deepika Padukone for its soothing and hydrating properties. (MY fav bolly actress btw 😭❤️)
Lifestyle Tips for Healthy Skin : Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day people are not stupid that they are going around telling you to drink water, IT'S A MUST!. Incorporate antioxidant-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, and green tea into your diet for overall skin health.
Some of my fav brands (mostly available in india) : dot and key, Foxtale, pilgrim, minimalist, st. Botanica, organic harvest and aqualogica!
Fav brand released by a bollywood actress: Hyphen by Kriti Sanon, their lip balm can even beat Rhode's lip balm istg- and their sunscreen 🔛🔝.
Channel your inner Bollywood diva and achieve a radiant, flawless skin with these skincare tips and product recommendations. Let your skin glow like a star!

So with the mind-boggling hilarity of people feeling the need to defend taking care of their skin, I wanted to do an update of my original skincare post. That I of course can't find, presently, as the search function on this site is still useless!
First of all, come to terms with the fact that you are walking around with a giant organ on the outside of your body (ahurhurhur).
Yes, preventing skin cancer is priority one when it comes to your dermis. Sunscreen isn't the only defense, having skin with a healthy moisture barrier is part of that prevention as well. ALSO, one thing a lot of those posts desperately yelping "It'S nOt BeAuTy StAnDaRdS!" leave out is, uh, the scary shit that can happen to your skin when you're elderly. Your skin WILL get thinner, that's just aging. Taking care of it now (keeping it stretchy and moisturized) gives it a better chance of not being paper-thin, to the point that the person taking care of you has to be mindful not to freaking tear it off of you just helping you get dressed.
If you have a strong stomach, go ahead and read some stories from hospice and other types of elder care workers. There's a whole contraption for lowering people down slowly if they're about to fall, all to prevent skin splitting or sloughing off.
Age spots are beautiful. Care-worn wrinkles and laugh lines are beautiful. Your arm skin sloughing off like a glove is not.
Fucking moisturize.
Is a side effect of that care often fewer of those lines? Sure, MAYBE, sometimes. It also doesn't at ALL require 18 expensive steps. Even before I left my job I was mainly using the best I could find for the least amount of money. Almost everything listed I've been using for over a year at least! Aldi-brand skincare is amazingly quality, as you'll see.
Washing:
Lacura Foaming Gel Cleanser: Super gentle and nice for a daily face wash. When I want to use it as a makeup-remover, I'll pump it into a super-soft sea sponge so I can scrub a bit more, albeit gently.
I don't get big breakouts much at this point (regular cleansing and moisturizing will usually chill your skin out eventually re: feeling the need to over-produce oil). But I do keep some Neutrogena Face Wash around for when I get breakouts anywhere, maybe a handful of times a month.
I don't know how much benefit I REALLY see from toner, as far as my pores. They seem fine! Mostly I just loooove the feeling of swiping it on fresh from the fridge, and the coolness does calm down the skin and sooth any puffiness. I still make my own Rosewater Toner with wilting discount grocery store roses and a few drops of lavender oil.
Goops:
Lacura Day And/Or Night Creams: These are SO AFFORDABLE (I'm using Amazon links for ease of reference, they are WAY cheaper directly from Aldi) and make your skin feel like butter. After washing and toning one or the other is what I glop on next, and a little goes a long way. Night cream is important because the skin under your eyes especially is so super thin, it needs that protection as we get older. But eye creams tend to be STUPID EXPENSIVE. Lacura is around $4 at Aldi and I legit see very little difference between it and the unsustainably expensive ones I've tried in the past.
Ponds Dry Skin Cream: The old reliable. I have used it since I was 19 and Oprah said it was good, lol. If you use nothing else on your face, use this (but also sunscreeen, dear gods). After Day or Night cream, this comes next.
A good rule of thumb for all moisturizers is that you don't want it to disappear into your skin immediately OR stay too greasy. As I've gotten older, this one sits on my skin longer, so I tend to only use it at night in the summer. Once it gets cold and dry out, though, morning and night baby.
Vaseline Cocoa Radiant: For the all-over-rest-of-me, you really can't beat it. After every shower or bath, all over everything, damnit. LUBE YOUR DERM.
Oil:
Olive Oil Squalane: My last step of the night is topping my face with a good Squalane before bed. My old job discontinued the one I swear by, pictured above, which, I have no idea why? It feels soooo nice and I saw such good results in the winter especially. I bought up a bunch of bottles from work before it disappeared, haha but there are soooo many options out there for a lot of different prices. Basically you want the main ingredients to be Olive Oil & Herbs, usually Rosemary.
Treat Yourself Tier:
Innersense Harmonic Treatment Oil: I was given a gift card to them for my birthday last year, and yeah they're reeeeeally wom-wom and a little insufferable in their marketing, and they're expensive. HOWEVER, this stuff is infuriatingly great? Nothing was helping my dry scalp until this. I use it instead of the Squalane maybe once a week on my face as well, and it definitely clears up any redness or irritation right away. How dare it be good and also $25 an ounce. But if you can treat yourself, why not!
Dead Sea Mud Masks: Masks are FUN, damnit. If you can ignore all the annoying "detoxing" claims and blah blah, it is a fact that mud masks can really flush out those pores. And they feel nice!
General Habits:
Wash Your Pillowcases: They're full of your face goo, skin cells, and slobber. Not only good for your skin, but just nice. Wash your sheets/bedding more regularly in general, if you're like me then I know you're not doing it enough. Make the change to fragrance-free detergent now if you haven't already, that shit could start bothering your skin at ANY time. My mother never had a problem with good ol' Tide, until she turned 60 and suddenly ANY fragranced soaps made her skin explode.
Wash Your Makeup Tools: Same as above, I regularly gross myself out watching all the GUNK that's stored in the pretty pink makeup brushes.
Wash Hats, Headbands, Etc: Hopefully the pattern is sinking in. If it touches your skin regularly? It should be washed regularly. It's easy to remember that your clothes do, of course, but there's so many other things as well that are fulla your skin cells, various products, pollution, and sebum. Scientists could probably clone you with access to the inner band of your favorite hat alone.
SUN SCREEN: EVERY TIME YOU GO OUT IN VIEW OF THE FIRE ORB. Sensitive face/skin? Baby sunscreen. I know texture is a big thing for people, but there are lots of different brands out there that have lots of different textures, ingredients, scents, etc. Don't give up on it just because Coppertone makes you break out, you owe it to yourself to find the thing that works for you. Skin cancer is a bitch that spares no one, not even Hugh Nicest Man Ever Jackman.
Drink Water: You know it, I know it, same as above, find the way to get regular hydration in that works for you. I personally like making my own fruity flavored syrups to dash in things. Hydrated skin begins from within, blah blah blah.
Vitamins: Take a multi-vitamin, get your vitamin D. The sun is not BEAMING VITAMINS INTO YOUR PORES, it synthesis it. A quick google will tell you that 8-10 minutes in the sun A DAY is all you need. So don't let anyone tell you BUT YOUR VITAMIN D!!!!!!! when you're layering on your sun screen. Take your vitamins, get a teaspoon of sun regularly, and then GOOP UP.
Tumblr media
I'm no expert, just someone with a mother & grandmother who greatly regret/regretted their lack of skin care as younger women. My mom is 75 and she has lines and spots, and she's beautiful! But her skin can tear after a clumsy trip into a door frame. She's listening to her dermatologist now to the letter, and I too would like to avoid that as much as possible! We all deserve to like how our spongy flesh prisons feel.

"why is having a skin care routine so... tedious?"
✨ @dvarapala be luxurious with him for like a day.
Tumblr media
Virote was unloading unopened boxes of products on to the sleek, rosy marble surface of his bathroom, everything meant for Udyati. A stack of sheet masks, lots of eye creams, emulsions, lip masks, body oils. Whatever else he had that he hadn't even thought about opening ( a lot of it was just free swag from his father's associates that got handed off on him. ) ❝Marketing and FOMO. Trust me, it doesn't even have to be complicated. A lot of people have these long ass routines for the ritual of it—like me, for example. Like, I just loooove rubbing stuff on my face! Really, the only routine you need is cleansing, essence, serum, then sunscreen. Exfoliate, like, twice a week. Don't even bother with sleeping masks and night creams and toners. An essence will do just fine instead of a toner, they're lower in acidity anyway.❞
He popped open an unlabeled, white box and found a white label perfume. Probably some free sample he had forgotten about. Giving it a spritz on his wrist, he mostly smelled vanilla and lavender. That went into Udyati's assortment of goodies, too. At some point, she'd be walking away with more perfume than anything else. Not like that's a bad thing, right?
❝These celebrities and influencers will shill Neutrogena in front of the cameras, then leave out the fact they're, like, getting microdermabrasion, lymphatic drainage, ultrasonic, micro current, LED light therapy, negative-ion oxygen therapy. I mean, I get these treatments too so I have a right to judge. Anyway, you wanna come with me on my next spa visit? You'd love getting a water peel! It's really cool, I promise.❞

9?
9. do you have a skincare routine (and how many steps is it)?
yes! but I keep it relatively simply because the more I do to my skin the less happy it is
morning: wash my face in the shower with la rosche posay hydrating gentle cleanser. moisturize with la rosche posay double repair face moisturizer mixed with cerave daily moisturizing lotion. if I put on sunscreen I use the supergoop unseen sunscreen
night: remove makeup with neutrogena oil free makeup remover, wash my face with water, put on a layer of tretinoin (retinoid prescribed by my derm), moisturize with the same two moisturizers. if I have a pimple I’ll use panoxyl pm overnight hydrocolloid spot patches but I don’t use them too often
I also put the plain aveeno lotion all over my body after every shower because my skin gets dry af

Busting Common Skincare Myths: What Truly Works and What Doesn't
In the pursuit of radiant and flawless skin, it's easy to get lost in a maze of skincare myths and misconceptions. From homemade remedies to supposed miracle products, the beauty industry can sometimes leave us bewildered. Let's dive into some prevalent skincare myths, setting the record straight on what's effective and what's not.
Myth: The More, the Merrier
Reality: Layering multiple products may seem enticing, but quality trumps quantity. Overloading your skin can lead to irritation and clogged pores. A personalized routine catering to your skin type - including a cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and targeted treatment if necessary - is the way to go.
Myth: Natural Means Safe
Reality: Just because something is labeled "natural" doesn't guarantee it's safe for all skin types. Allergies and reactions can still occur. It's crucial to read labels, patch-test, and consult a dermatologist before incorporating new products.
Myth: Pores Open and Close
Reality: You might have heard that steam opens pores while cold water closes them. In truth, pores lack muscles, so they can't change shape. Steam can temporarily soften debris, but a solid cleansing routine and exfoliation work better for maintaining clear pores.
Myth: Oily Skin Rejects Moisturizers
Reality: Hydration benefits all skin types, including oily ones. Skipping moisturizer can lead to increased oil production. Opt for a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to maintain balance without causing breakouts.
Myth: Sunscreen Is for Sunny Days Only
Reality: Sunscreen is a must, no matter the weather. Harmful UV rays are present even on cloudy days and can penetrate windows. Consistent broad-spectrum sunscreen application safeguards your skin from premature aging and damage.
Best sunscreens EVER:
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-in Milk Body & Face Sunscreen
LIVE TINTED Hueguard Invisible Sunscreen Stick SPF 50
Neutrogena Invisible Daily Defense Face Sunscreen + Hydrating Serum with Broad Spectrum SPF 60+
Myth: Exfoliating Daily for Perfection
Reality: Exfoliation aids in cell turnover, but excess can cause irritation. 2-3 times a week with a gentle exfoliant is sufficient for a smoother complexion without harming your skin's barrier.
Amazing Facial Exfoliants:
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant - Exfoliator Facial Scrub Powder
TULA Skin Care So Poreless Exfoliating Blackhead Scrub
M-61 PowerGlow® Peel- 30 Treatments
Myth: Moisturizers and Oils Aggravate Acne
Reality: Acne-prone skin thrives with hydration. Seek non-comedogenic, oil-free options. Some oils, like jojoba or rosehip, can even regulate sebum and enhance skin appearance.
Moisturizers I personally love:
Paula’s Choice C5 Super Boost Moisturizer with 5% Vitamin C
e.l.f. SKIN Holy Hydration!
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream | Body and Face
TATCHA The Dewy Skin Cream
In conclusion, navigating through the world of skincare requires discerning fact from fiction. An informed approach, coupled with a streamlined routine, is the key to glowing skin. When in doubt, a dermatologist's guidance can be invaluable on your skincare journey. Remember, debunking skincare myths is an essential stride towards achieving your skin's best version.

i’ve had a few inquiries recently as to my skin care routine, and to be completely honest i can’t really have one. my skin is far too sensitive for all the bells and whistles most people apply daily lol ~
i will say this, i use Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Oil Free facial moisturizer, once at night after my nightly shower before bed (i always shower before bed) and i can only use Suave Almond and Shae Butter shampoo to wash my hair and my body, it’s the only soap my skin doesn’t react to badly. i can’t wash my face more than once a day or apply the moisturizer more than once a day or my skin reacts, and it’s the only one that says oil free and i truly feel like it is.
growing up and finding what i could use and what worked for my skin was such a struggle, and i didn’t fully find everything until about a year ago. living with sensitive skin isn’t an easy thing, and i am so grateful for the advancements in skin care for people like me ~

Guide for Glowing Skin
Having glowing, healthy skin is a goal for many people, and there are several steps you can take to help achieve it. Here are some tips for achieving glowing skin:
Use a gentle face wash: It's important to use a face wash that is gentle and won't strip your skin of its natural oils. If you have oily skin, look for a face wash that is oil-free and designed for oily skin. If you have dry skin, look for a face wash that is hydrating and designed for dry skin. Some options for a face wash for oily skin include Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash and Bioderma Sebium Gel Moussant. Try Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser for dry skin.
Exfoliate regularly: Exfoliating your skin helps to remove dead skin cells, which can make your skin look dull and lifeless. Look for a gentle exfoliator that is appropriate for your skin type. You can exfoliate once or twice a week, depending on your skin's needs.
Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water is essential for healthy, glowing skin. Water helps to flush toxins out of your body and keep your skin hydrated and plump. Aim for at least eight glasses of water a day.
Protect your skin from the sun: The sun's UV rays can damage your skin, leading to premature aging and skin cancer. Wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 days, even on cloudy days. You can also wear protective clothing, such as a hat and sunglasses, to help shield your skin from the sun's harmful rays.
Eat a healthy diet: A healthy diet is important for overall health, including the health of your skin. Aim to eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Avoid processed foods, sugary drinks, and excess alcohol, which can contribute to dull, unhealthy skin.
Get enough sleep: Getting enough sleep is essential for healthy, glowing skin; when you sleep, your body repairs and regenerates cells, including skin cells. Aim for at least seven to nine hours of sleep per night.
Use a moisturizer: Moisturizing your skin helps to keep it hydrated and plump. Look for a moisturizer that is appropriate for your skin type. If you have oily skin, look for a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer. For dry skin, look for a thicker, more hydrating moisturizer.
Use a face mask: Face masks can help to cleanse and nourish the skin deeply. Look for a face mask that is appropriate for your skin type. For example, if you have oily skin, try a clay mask to help absorb excess oil. If you have dry skin, try a hydrating sheet mask.
By following these tips and using the right skincare products for your skin type, you can help to achieve glowing, healthy skin.
