Brooke is staring at her statue. It's one of the museum's more busy hours, and sometimes she likes to spend her time where the general public goes, not where Jake goes.

A lot of the time, she spends in the exhibition about her. Maybe it's because she hopes to catch a glimpse of one of their friends.

But she's staring at her statue when she feels something tugging her coat.

Brooke looks down to see a little girl, maybe no older than about five. Brooke smiles.

"That looks like you," the little girl says.

"Yeah? It does, doesn't it?" Brooke responds.

The girl nods. "Is it you?"

"I'll tell you a secret."

Brooke looks around for a moment. No one is paying them much attention. She crouches down, reaches behind the girl's ear and pulls back a flower. "It is me."

Brooke smiles at the tiny gasp and look of wonder on the girl's face as she hands her the flower. She has seen that exact look before. That exact look of sheer wonder. Brooke can barely remember many details, it was so long ago. But she can remember a moment like this.

"Where did it come from?"

Brooke shrugged. "Magic."

The little girl giggled and ran over to her mother. "Mommy! Mommy! That pretty girl gave me a magic flower!"

Brooke smiled and stood again.

I forgot had a mlp deity au I was working on and did some redesigns for that. I lost a lot of my notes on the au I was so upset :'( my motivation to rewrite things took a dive and I lost the will to do the rest of my redesigns. It was slightly inspired by earthsong9405's goddess au and turnipberry influenced the way I draw pegasi/alicorns (they have gorgeous designs go check em out 👀)

Luna and celestia would reincarnate when they get old enough or die and celestia's hair became more sunsety as she aged. Might illustrate the same thing but with luna's getting lighter (new moon to full) if I ever pick up these redesigns again

These are like 3 years old or smth I don't have the original files for some of them so sorry if a few are kinda crunchy. Also didn't save the images of cadance/celestia/luna's wings way back when so those are gone rip

If anyone is interested what their roles were:

Celestia- Major deity. Goddess of the day. Associated with the sun and physical health.

Luna- Major deity. Goddess of the night. Associated with the moon and mental health.

Cadance- Minor deity. Goddess of familial love

Twilight- Major deity. Current goddess of knowledge. Previously a Keeper of knowledge and magic.

Rainbow dash- Minor deity. Goddess of competition. Associated with victory and weather. Previously a demigod and Keeper of war.

Idk if I'll revisit this outside of continuing to use my ocs for the au but I think the designs are kinda neat. Lowkey want to redesign twilight again though lol

Ok. ok ok ok I know youre having fun with Elden ring, and youve probably moved on from the Ley Line Au But Hear me out! Ive been chewing on it for a bit.

So! Three main things that just feel off to me in the au. 1. Giratina is the only primordial god without a magic branch (Which I Know They are anti magic but HEAR ME OUT!) 2. The Twin Dragons are the Light (They just dont feel like Primordial Gods ya'know?) . 3. Giratina still has no motive.

I!!! have connected the dots!!! It always rubbed me a bit when we talked about the dead god and the twin dragons. The Twin dragons are not really death connected. I just realized, we have a perfectly good ghost dragon Right there! Giratina!

So let me set the stage! The Three Primordial Children of the One. At the One's command they became The Fonts of Magic from which the world sprung forth. Then, an unimaginable time later, the Light tore its god to shreads. The God is dead. What is left from the smoldering remains of Light and Magic is a Lack. A Hole from which no light comes and no magic resides. Magic follows waters rules and tries to fill a hole which cannot be filled. In which the Starving, Writhing thing that was Once Light was banished by The One bc It was now a Danger to the world it created. (It is starving Its mind is in disarray WHERE IS ITS LIGHT.) The Magic it brought forth is now destabilized. Which as one of the forces stabilizing space time and the world is a big uh oh. So One Minor Dragon God seized the light as it thrashed and tore the world in a despite bid to keep its people safe. Unlike the Original Light whom was shredded until nothing but a shade remained, the Dragon God was only torn in twane. (Whether its because the light mages (Maybe Celestica? they have light theme right?) stopped in shock or divine retribution has claimed them Idk.)

But the tearing stabilized the light bc It created a dichotomy. Light was no longer JUST light. Its the swing of light to dark. the Truth to the Ideal. The gods original thing merged kinda with the Light. Maybe the Twin gods were gods of Wishes or Maybe Human Perspective idk. But It was important bc Now the Original God of Light is now Darkness. And the Allowance of Darkness in the Light Magic kinda keeps it from folding like a house of cards.

Light Magic tends to the rule of two. Or Give and Take. Depends on the user and the intent. Which makes it Very Dangerous. The Twin Gods try their best but the Light Magic is scarred and volatile. Light users tend to play by the rule of two bc Its generally the more safe of the rules to play by. Two Mages or One who Gives so they can Take. (the appearance of a LONE ridiculously powerful Light Mage Could be very alarming, what could they give to take that much magic. (where is the other one) and Irida has to safe.)

Which Gives Giratina a motive! or maybe a motive for Arceus to stop them. I imagine being killed is very disorenting and not very conductive to being rational non rampaging gods who have yet to realize what it has become. Maybe at the events of the plot it has chilled enough to be reasoned with to Not Eat all the Light Magic and kill everyone (Kinda. it IS a primordial god. ) Tho with Volo maybe trying to control it or maybe enabling it and giving it awful ideas we might need to deal with him first. (If we go with the Idea that Celestica killed Giratina and thats why they're dead, then Volo trying to control the god that their ancestors failed to would be a better motivation than just bc yeah?)

oh anon i have never moved on from a thing in my life and i am SO INTO THIS.

the one thing i take issue with tho is the sidelining of the twin dragons to being minor deities, bc having a minor deity jump on the ruins of a primal force feels kind of left-field, and to me the concept of there being gods who entirely, by definition, rule the domain of human thought and desire—and pokemon gods, animal gods that can be leashed and controlled—is a concept that fucks so hard and i can't see it as being anything other than deeply fundamental to the universe itself. so can i play with your premise a lil bit

bc i think—and idr how much of this ive talked abt before—BUT i think in pokemon CANON, giratina is also kind of a god's corpse moreso than it is a god in itself. by which i mean to say, giratina was the original holder of spirit, not the lake trio—but having the whole force of spirit contained in one mind was too much for it, and arceus had to take it away and reform it into three separate beings, leaving giratina a banished and abandoned shell. which actually dovetails so neatly into this, just instead of being doomed by its creation, giratina was killed by its mages instead.

so like. light to dark to antimagic to spirit. this feels like such a closed loop. like, it's always kind of fascinated me how the lake and tao legends feel so conceptually linked—truth and ideals vs. willpower emotion and knowledge, like you can see how they're distinct concepts if you squint but intuitively it feels like there should be a lot of overlap. SO. do you see where i'm going with this. i've already said that light is like, the fundamental force that is the contract law of the universe—which fits so neatly with the lake trio's red chain of spirit and the way it can control even palkia and dialga and repair the very fabric of reality. cogita even suggests that it "lets one see reality as it truly is."

i also take umbrage with the idea that resh/zek don't have a death link bc to me they are the products of a death. the original dragon died, and they're the leftovers of its power, with kyurem being the body. ...but kyurem also hasn't played much of a role at all in this so far. has it.

so maybe reshiram and zekrom weren't a separate god that stepped in to fill the void. light has always been the same thing as spirit, two words for the same fundamental domain—fitting so neatly with the concept of facets and angles we've had going so far—and resh and zek are the shards of giratina's corpse. fundamentally disunified and out of balance, two opposing pieces of a god trying to fill the role of a single one. meanwhile giratina persists, but now having been completely gutted, the fundamental piece of its heart where its magic should live permanently gutted and bleeding darkness.

is this tracking?? idc i'm rolling with this now anyway. it fucks to me. anyway i'm also so into the idea that it was celestic who originally killed giratina, bc those mages have been kind of faceless until now but i think it also gives ingo such a fascinating personal stake in this whole quest in a way even irida and adaman don't have. like, he inherited their bloodied hands. he knows more intimately than anyone what the force of light is like now, lacking a true deity. that is fascinating to me.

also wouldn't that legally make volo another light mage?? but like, an Old Light Mage. one of the few who still adhere to the way it used to function, before the killing. bc like, i don't think this has made it into a post yet but i do think those are very different things. light magic is a completely different ballgame nowadays. goddammit yet again volo and emmet have taken up narratively opposed and symmetric positions. why do they do this EVERY time.

Alma is seen as the one who raised the mountains around the Encanto, and the rich soil is seen as a blessing from her. While being seen as an equivalent of “Mother Earth” in the Encanto, Alma isn’t widely worshiped for providing the valley’s resources as much as she is for other, abstract things. Her symbol of mountains/earth is mostly used in artwork and gifts, not being something that she’s worshiped for specifically.

Alma’s mountains mirror Pedro’s river, the two symbols often portrayed in artwork side by side. It also adds another layer of symbolism to some of the encantan residents of Alma and Pedro being separated to protect the valley.

Alma’s altar is of her standing tall, a shield gently held in her hands. The face of the shield is painted to depict the Encanto, the artwork being repainted every time it fades. I like to think that the paint used is water based, for further symbolism, but it’s not a concrete rule that is set for the townspeople to follow.

Alma is mostly worshiped by the older residents in the valley, and she is prayed to whenever someone is seeking protection in a task or wants to do a good job in a position of leadership. Positions of leadership can go from leading a group project to parenting.

Offerings to Alma are usually anything taken from the earth, though crops are usually offered to Isabela. Stone sculptures, pottery, and some of the metals and jewels found in the mountains are common to see at her altar.

Alma goes into town almost every day, and helps with some tasks around the valley. She is usually seen in town in the mornings, as she spends the afternoons in Casita doing chores or spending time with her family.

Alma has a very relaxed schedule, and she’s much less strict than in canon. Since she was declared a goddess when the Encanto was created, she wasn’t asked to do much as the townspeople thought (and still think) that asking a goddess to do busywork would be very rude.

Alma is a calming authority figure to her grandchildren, not the strict monarch that she was in canon, so the dynamic changes a bit. Alma still believes that their gifts (or blessings, in this AU), should be used to help the community, but she doesn’t pressure them to work all day.

in case anyone is wondering why pmd au has anne not receive the gems:

the Deity literally just forgot/didn’t think about it in this universe.

#more or less I feel like. while the deity does technically care about morally and stuff due to it specifically trying to find a morally good #successor who would use it’s powers for good. i feel it also very much does not consider things like emotions/effects/etc on a mortal level #that much. like the whole gem thing in general is just… morally iffy. giving mortals the powers of gods out of pure curiousity to see what #they’d do? when it’s most likely to just be used to commit atrocities? plus in the noncanon ending which I know doesn’t fully matter when it #comes to talking about canonical perspectives but still interesting to think about… when Anne doesn’t ascend to godhood after she dies of #old age the deity literally decides to just try again and send MORE GEMS to the mortals. despite fully knowing what happened last time.#also I think the deity giving small gem fragments is also another example of it’s lack of care to the mortals issues… but that is it’s own #discussion.#oh also not to mention the whole thing with like. telling anne when she’s gonna die djdvsjvd #basically this is just an explanation of why exactly they didn’t get sent back in this au cause like. idk if it will really be explained on #blog? but yeah it literally is just…#anne: hey why didn’t you do anything to help us get back to earth #deity: i forgor 💀#frog talk

I'll be honest... I've never considered smell?? I mean I've considered taste (thanks, Gelum), like for example Izulda would taste tangy... maybe she would smell like lemon lime? Seph would be hot cocoa and freezerburn. Ten and Lara would definitely smell like wet ink and old books due to being inky beings. Glacia probably smells like black ice and Flarah smells like campfires. Gelum like the salty ocean. Tempys like the air after a summer storm. Solanum like rot and Nerine like poison ivy and berries. Now that I think about it, my deities would have quite distinct smells.....

Okay now that I type this out maybe I can imagine what they smell like lmaoo

How about an angsty "Deity AU" for the Bros?

PREMISE

Mario and Luigi are gods who watch over and protect the universe. But after a run in with another dark and evil god (Bowser) one of the Bros goes missing or is killed.

(for the sake of good ol' angst let's say it's Luigi)

Mario flies into an anguished rage, and proceeds to unleash wrath upon everything, because he refuses to continue to protect the universe that took his brother from him.

He has also fallen in love with the mortal princess, Peach, and wishes to spare her from his wrath. But Peach choses to stay with her people, as she recognises that Mario is too far gone into his grief to ever make amends.

I'll add stuff in time if I think of anything, but everyone else is welcome to add and suggest anything else ^^

SOME EXTRA BITS

This AU is slightly on the mature side (as with almost every other myth and legend involving gods) but definitely not leaning into anything immoral that a lot of them tend to contain!

- Deity Mario has power over fire. He can create warm weather when happy and becomes as hot as lava when angry.

- Deity Luigi has power over lightning. He can create rain to provide for the people, and creates thunderstorms when angry.

- Mario and Peach strike up a relationship after Mario visits the mortal world in human form. After subsequent visits, Peach begins to grow suspicious and Mario reveals his immortal status. Peach is very much in love with him and is totally ok with this, and the two have a passionate night together ❤💗

- Likewise, Luigi falls for Daisy, a beautiful nymph who he spots wandering in a forest. When he goes to visit her she is naturally terrified of him, but soon starts to see he really is just a gentle soul, and the two get into a serious relationship 💚💛
