Being a Wheeler and Dating Billy Hargrove
headcanons
Tumblr media
summary: dating billy while being a wheeler kid
pairing: billy hargrove x fem!reader (wheeler!reader)
WARNINGS: swearing, very brief mentions of sex, mentions of abuse
note: i wanted to do one of these for billy because i haven’t written anything for him yet so :)
You met Billy right after he moved to Hawkins. Obviously, he radiated bad vibes at first. He was rude, arrogant, and not someone you had any desire to spend any amount of time with.
Then, the two of you were partnered up for an English project, which meant spending a lot of time with Billy Hargrove.
Initially, you thought it would be up to you to do the entire project. Billy didn’t exactly seem like the kind of person who would contribute to partner work at all.
However, Billy was totally infatuated with you. He thought you were the prettiest girl in Hawkins, so he did what he does best. He tried to flirt with you. Obviously, his reputation preceded him, causing you to vehemently turn him down every time.
The last thing you were gonna do was become one of Billy Hargrove’s groupies. You were not the kind of girl who was just going to fall to his feet and beg him to take you in the backseat of his camaro. This only egged him on.
He loved the fact that you weren’t gonna give into him so easily. If he really wanted you, he had to work for it. You fully expected him to get bored and move onto another girl in a weeks time.
But he didn’t. Instead, he spent most of his free time at your house, working on a stupid poster board over the symbols in Romeo and Juliet, instead of partying or hooking up with other girls.
His behavior seemed to do a complete 180. He was no longer out drinking every night, instead he was doing homework and going to bed at a reasonable hour??
Your parents loved him, especially your mother. She would often come up to your room while the two of you were working, bringing snacks or art supplies for your poster board. Billy would occasionally shoot her a flirty smile or make some kind of weird comment, which earned him a glare and a “Don’t flirt with my mom!”
Over time, you grew pretty fond of Billy. You were even sad that the deadline for your project was coming up so soon. The two of you had finished it a week before, but Billy kept coming over with the excuse of “What if we need to fix something?”
He was weirdly sweet and polite. He made you laugh and teased you over your taste in music.
Billy likes to look through your things. Not in a weird or creepy kind of way, but more in a getting-to-know-you kind of way. He tries to be respectful, avoiding your underwear drawer and anything that could be deemed too personal for his eyes, no matter how badly he wants to take a peek.
Your sister, Nancy, didn’t trust him at all. She knew his typical behavior and immediately decided that his fake niceties were just a sick ploy to get into your pants.
Nancy’s words made you question your semi-friendship with Billy. You couldn’t help but wonder how much of it was true.
Your little brother, Mike, couldn’t stand the thought of you being around Billy. Mike had firsthand accounts of how vile he was, being friends with Billy’s stepsister, Max.
Mike often tried to talk you out of seeing Billy, but to no avail.
When the two of you presented your project, you made an A, which is the best grade Billy had received in a long time. He’s actually genuinely proud and grateful.
You continue inviting him around. He comes to plenty of family dinners, which can sometimes make for an awkward experience given the fact that both your siblings detest him.
He asks you out soon after and you accept, letting Nancy and Mike’s concerns fall to the back of your mind. You had no reason not to trust Billy’s intentions.
He remained super respectful on your first date, taking you to a small diner in town. He has you home by curfew, much to your parents appreciation.
While he still manages to uphold his reputation at school, he doesn’t focus on any other girls. He remains loyal to you, showing you off in the halls as often as he can.
He walks you to and from class, holding your hand and carrying your books for you if you need.
He recognizes that he has a good thing going for him and he refuses to let his assholery ruin it for him.
Your relationship is definitely the talk of the school. Billy Hargrove and Y/N Wheeler? There’s more gossip going around than there was when Steve and Nancy first got together.
He picks you up every morning and takes you home every afternoon. You form a pretty good relationship with Max because of this.
Billy would protect you with his life. If anybody said anything bad about you, they would have to face his wrath. He gets in multiple fights for you.
After a couple months, Billy is forced to come to you after a bad fight with his dad. He pecks on your window, effectively scaring the shit out of you. You gasp when you see the state he’s in, thinking he got into another fight with a boy at school. However, your confusion grows as you notice the tears pooling in his eyes as he climbs through the window and immediately pulls you into him.
He breaks down, telling you everything he’d been holding back for so long. He tells you about his mother, about his dad’s abuse, and everything else. You clean his wounds and hold him in your bed until the sun rises and he’s forced to head back home.
Cleaning his cuts and holding him until sunrise becomes a regular occurrence after this.
After a while, Nancy comes around to the idea of your relationship. She sees how different Billy is around you and she can see how happy you are. All she wants is for you to be happy, so she eventually gives you her approval.
Mike, however, never comes around. He hates Billy and nothing can change that. It doesn’t really bother you, though.
Billy loves seeing you in his clothes, especially his jacket. Sometimes he “accidentally” leaves it in your room just so you’ll wear it the next day.
He likes sitting with you while you read or do homework. He appreciates the fact that the two of you don’t even have to talk to have a good time. He likes just being near you.
He just loves seeing you and spending time with you.

can you do a mike x girl reader where steve is her brother and sees them making out like hopper in season 3
A/N - Absolutely, I’m already giggling about Steve’s reaction. Fresh Sofa is out of stock, we only got Soda.
>Mama Steve had seen you hang out with Mike a lot lately. He assumed it was because you were apart of the party, which was also how he met Nancy.
>So he just thought you guys were planning a campaign for the Party. You both had done this sort of thing before several times.
>So when you told Steve that Mike would be coming over to your house, he shrugged and told you to tidy up your bedroom.
>When Mike came over, you rushed to open the door before Steve could even get of the lounge.
>“Having fun with that campaign, huh?” Steve laughed off, missing the awkward side-eye you gave Mike.
>”Sure.” You grabbed Mike’s hand and dragged him upstairs to where your bedroom was.
>Steve went back to the show that was on tv.
>After like half an hour, Steve decided to bring you a snack. He was sick of seeing you accidentally starving yourself cause you got sidetracked for hours, nearly days at a time.
>He grabbed a bag of chips and two cans of soda for you and Mike, and headed up the stairs.
>He didn’t bother knocking. He didn’t think he needed to. But how he wish he did.
>He saw his ex girlfriends younger brother sticking his tongue down his willing sisters throat.
>”What in the actual fuck are you doing!?”
>You and Mike immediately broke apart and stared at Steve awkwardly.
>”Yes Steve?” You asked, putting on your little sister act to avoid as much trouble as possible.
>”You two were just making out! Why?!”
>Mike looked at him, his faces scrunched from how Steve failed to see the obvious.
>”We’re dating? Can’t you tell?”
>”You told me you were gonna plan a campaign for the Party!”
>”You assumed that, it was easier to let you think we were being innocent teens.” You had chummed in.
>”Sibling meeting! Wheeler, get home!”
>”He’s staying, don’t you wanna tell Mike off? It was his idea. Plus, when you give us the all go to date, you’re gonna need to give the talk.”
>Steve scoffed, thought about it and sighed in absolute defeat.
>Steve agreed, and you all sat on the floor and talked for like 20 minutes.
>It took him 20 minutes to cave and give in to your little pleas.
>And he indeed did have the talk with Mike.
>Also called up Hopper to ask for pointers, he knows Mike and El use to date.
>So now when Mike is over, you’re both downstairs, where he can see you.
>Or if all 3 of you are upstairs, your bedroom is opened 3 inches.
>He barely catches you guys make out. But when he does, he looks disappointed, annoyed and disgusted.
>”Guess we both find the Wheelers attractive, huh Steve?”
>You were Steve’s pest of a sister who he couldn’t say no to, but wishes he could.<3

1972
“Hey!” A six year old girl called, walking into her friend's backyard.
“Y/N/N-bear? What are you doing?” A six year old boy asked, sitting with his feet in the pool.
“Are your parents home?” The girl asked, sitting down next to him.
“No. You wanna hang out?”
“Steve, I gotta tell you something.”
“What is it?” Steve asked.
“I’m moving.”
“What? To where?”
“New York City.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know. My dad says it will be good for us. But he said he would help me write to you.”
“So we can still be best friends?”
“Always.” The girl smiled, splashing him with water.

1978
“It’s troll’s favorite food!” A big man yelled, running after a seven year old girl with two small pigtails, as a lady and the now twelve year old girl. “Princess!”
“No, Daddy!” The girl yelled, laughing. “No, Daddy!”
“Roasted princess,” the man called, as he lifted her up into the air. “With paprika and gravy!”
“No! No, Daddy. No, Daddy.”
The little girl stopped laughing and started breathing heavily. The family crowded around, worried. “Whoa, hey!” The man let out. “Hey. You alright?”
“Mom, what’s going on?” The twelve year old asked, grabbing her mothers hand.
“I don’t know Y/N.”
“Jim, what’s going on?” The lady asked. “What happening? What happened?”
“I don’t know.” The man responded. “I don’t know.” The man put her down as she started looking around. “Hey, you alright? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Relax, relax. Honey, honey. Honey, just breath. Breathe, breathe, breathe. In and out. Slow, slow, slow. In and out with me. In…and out.”
“I asked Mrs. Spencer what made the red and she said she didn’t know.” The man read, reading a book to his family, laying next to his youngest daughter in a hospital bed. “And for pity’s sake not to ask her any more questions. She said I must have asked her a thousand already. I suppose I had, too, but how are you gonna find things out if you don’t ask questions? And what does make roads red? ‘Well, I don’t know,’ said Matthew. It just makes me feel glad to be alive…it’s such an interesting world.”
“No!” A girl cried, grabbing a big man’s hand. “I wanna go with you!”
“Y/N/N, what about your mom?” The man asked, getting on his knees to be eye level with the twelve year old girl. “She can’t lose another kid.”
“No! I wanna go with you! She doesn’t care, she only cares about her new boyfriend that doesn’t remind her of Sara!”
“Hey, don’t say that.” The man said, wiping a tear from the girl's face.
“Daddy please? I wanna go with you! I wanna go back to Hawkins! I wanna see Steve again!”
“I know. I know.”
“Please, don’t make me stay with her! Don’t make me stay with him!”
“I’ll see what I can do.”
_________ST____________
The girl pounded on the door to a house as a twelve year old boy opened the door.
“Steve?” The girl asked, tears in her eyes.
“Y/N/N-bear?”
“Steve,” the girl let out, hugging him tight. “I missed you so much!”
“Y/N, what are you doing here?” Steve asked, pulling away to see tears in her eyes and on her face.
“Steve, my dad and I moved back. Sara died, and uh… my parents got a divorce. I was able to come back with him. He’s at work now, but I just didn’t want to be alone.”
“Y/N/N, I’m home!” The man in his police chief uniform called walking into his house one night. “Y/N? Y/N, where are you?” He asked, looking around, looking for his daughter.
“And she’s not with you?” The man asked on the phone the next day.
“No. Why would she be with me? Are you sure she didn’t just spend the night at a friends?”
“Yes, I’m sure. I went home last and she wasn’t there. There was no sign of her, no note, no nothing! It’s not like her to just run away like that.”

Big Sister Program // Max Mayfield Headcanon
masterlist | oneshots
Tumblr media
Max has been depressed more and more recently
after all she’s been through in life, she still can’t seem to catch a break from the pain and suffering, not to mention what friends she has left
so when she found out her mom signed her up for a ‘Big Sister Program’, she wasn’t thrilled
you lived in the trailer park across the street from hers, almost next to Eddie’s actually, so being close by for any reason was the best outcome for the both of you
“Hey Max, I’m Y/N” you introduced yourself
you were different. little more outgoing and bubbly, never taking any for granted and always seeing the other side of the storm clouds
“Yeah, I’ve seen you around school” she nodded
you understood that she was forced to do this, but reassured her that it wouldn’t be like a constant babysitter looking out
for a couple weeks after meeting, Max didn’t really say much. she didn’t really want to hang out or talk really
you didn’t mind though, she’d come around on her own terms, which she did
Max came to realize that you were a friend and not a guardian, parent, or counselor to “talk” to
she relied on you more, which to be totally honest, you loved
the relationship that the two of you had built over the past 6 months benefited both of you in more ways than one
“Hey M, a couple friends of mine are going to a concert this weekend and I got you a ticket.” You smiled
“Really? What concert? Who’s playing?” She looked up from her book.
“Kate Bush.” You said calmly.
she literally flipped when you told her and already clearing it with her mom, you two had the best time
it was a time where Max could let loose and breath, she didn’t have to worry or overthink about the troubles in her life
you more you two hung out and spent time together, the more it felt like a good friend and not like a program she was signed up for to make her life less lonely. she’d never admit it to her mom, but this was the best decision anyone’s made for her
“Hey Y/N... I may not say it much, but I really do appreciate you and all you do. You are the big sister and sibling that I always wanted. Thank you.” Max hugged you around your waist.
“I love you, Max. I’d do anything for you. Plus you’re the little sister I always wanted to.” You hugged her close.
WHY CAN’T MAX JUST GET A DAMN BREAK. LIKE SHIT SHE NEEDS A HUG

No Caller ID
Summary: For the first time in months, Steve doesn’t call. This makes Dustin step into brother mode.
masterlist
Tumblr media
Dustin tried not to notice it, but it soon became a common occurrence. Every night at eight the phone would ring for y/n, his sister. At first, he was nosy, as every little brother is, but when he found out who it was, he was angry. His so-called best bro, the guy he looked up to was calling his sister every night. Y/n and Steve began dating soon after. Dustin was upset at first, he had every right to be. But when he saw how happy they were, he couldn’t help but love them together.
Dustin had noticed y/n on edge lightly on the ride home from school. He wanted to ask her what happened but that’s not something they did. Y/n had pushed her food around her plate, not eating any of it. Something had happened at school and Dustin questioned if Steve had anything to do with it. That night Dustin watched his sister sit by the phone. The clock struck eight and the phone didn’t go off.
“Maybe he’s calling.” Dustin heard y/n mumble, but 30 minutes went by and there was no call. Dustin always thought of his sister as a strong person, one who could handle anything. But watching her crumble in defeat and start to cry made him realize she was just like him. His mind started to brainstorm and soon he had radioed the boys and had a plan.
Y/n cried herself to sleep that night. She had a stupid fight with Steve at school, which resulted in him giving Nancy Wheeler a ride home. Y/n and Nancy were friends, and y/n knew how much she liked him. So of course, she wasn’t going to miss this opportunity. It hurt, y/n thought that everything was okay, that they were a perfect happy couple, but it turns out Steve was still a big player, and not what he seemed.
The next morning, Dustin had his plan set in motion. He had woken up early and attempted to make pancakes. Lucas had managed to get by and helped him set up everything. He had made his sister breakfast in bed. Will had brought his video store copy of Star Wars and Mike had brought his Dungeons and Dragons stuff. They opened y/n’s door to see she had just woken up. She smiled at the boys, happy to have a band of little brothers. That’s how the morning went, all five of them crammed into y/n’s queen bed, watching Star Wars and eating pancakes.
The phone had gone off several times, causing y/n to jump and look at the number. It was Steve’s number. On the 4th time he called Lucas grabbed the machine and hit a couple buttons.
“There, I turned on no caller id, now she won’t know it’s him calling.” Lucas told the boys. Sure-enough when the phone rang again, y/n couldn’t see the number and ignored it. At the end of the day the boys got there stuff together and prepared to leave. Mike came up to y/n and pulled her aside.
‘If it makes you feel any better, Steve left my sister in the dust and hasn’t called her since. When Dustin told me, I asked her if she was stupid.” He laughed out, which caused y/n to smile.

requested by: @multifandomwriter56 , I sincerely hope you like this ✨🌻💛
pairing: Steve Harrington x sister!reader
warnings: none
feedbacks are always appreciated!
You and your brother were standing in the living room of the Byers' house, along with the kids that you were tasked to supervise until Joyce, Jonathan and the others were done taking care of what was going on with Will.
You were talking about what you all would have done if the situation were to escalate, and knowing how you'd kept the Demogorgon away the year prior, you gave your own suggestion.
“Guys, I have a solution” you announced, holding your hand up as to draw attention to yourself. Steve sighed in relief, and said “Thank goodness. What is it?”
“It involves fire” you explained “But—it's not as bad as it sounds”.
Your brother stared at you for a few seconds, speechless and astounded by what you'd just said. “Absolutely not!” he finally exclaimed, and you groaned in frustration.
“It would be completely safe, I swear. Like last year!” you insisted, to which the older boy responded “Last year was an exception !”
“But—” “No buts!”

To be young and in love
Summary: After Y/n Henderson finally gets asked out on a date by Eddie Munson, how is her brother going to react to it all?
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Henderson!Reader
Song: Photograph by Cody Fry / When he sees me by Sara Bareilles (cause it fits the first date jitters scene)
Warning: Dustin being annoyingly gross, the stranger things kids cussing a lot as usual
Word count: 2.7k+ words
A/n: Didn't think I was gonna write a pt.2 but I really wanted to write Dustin's reaction cause who doesn't love a protective younger brother<3
Part 1 / Part 2
Like clockwork, Hawkins high ends their day with the ring of the school bell. The school grounds get filled with students rushing their way off of the premises.
During these times, Dustin waits by the parking lot, expecting for his sister to appear to take him home. Only this time, it was only your bike waiting outside for him.
"Where the hell is Y/n?" Dustin muttered as he looked around for a glimpse of you.
"Isn't that her bike, over there?" Lucas pointed out at the lone vehicle sitting idly in its lot.
Dustin nodded as he let out a sigh, "Where would she even go?" He turned to face his friends, arms crossed and confusion laid out on his face.
His question was left unanswered by both his friends who seemed distracted by something behind him.
"What are you guys looking at?" He turned around, and the scene before him seemed to have answered his question.
There you were, striding down the hill with Eddie by your side. You two were too engulfed in your own world to even notice the heavy stares coming from the three boys. Both your hands intertwined as you both made your way to the school.
Mike started to wonder aloud, "Why are they-"
The boy fell silent when he saw Eddie bring your entangled hands to his lips and gave it a kiss. You grinned with an evident blush growing on your cheeks. He unclasped your hands before you both said your goodbyes to one another. You waved Eddie goodbye as he sent a flying kiss towards you. You could only giggle lightly at the flirty exchange as you watched him retreat to his van.
Dustin's mouth was agape and his eyes were practically the size of golfballs. He was trying his best to process the new information. But it was hard for him to wrap his head around it.
Lucas chimed in, "Did Eddie just-"
"Yup." Dustin replied bluntly
Mike added,"And your sister-"
"Uhuh."
Lucas was trying his best to not laugh at Dustin's reaction. Mike was having a similar reaction to Lucas but it was more subtle.
The three watched as you tread your way to your motorbike. You were too lost in your thoughts about Eddie to even notice that the boys saw the whole exchange.
You reached your bike and leaned on the seat with an absent-minded smile. Your eyes locked at the direction Eddie drove off in. The heartful bliss in your chest made you feel like the happiest girl in hawkins. You were finally going on a date with the guy of your dreams.
Unfortunately the bliss was soon replaced with the feeling that you were being watched. You looked away from the road and towards the school. The grin was still rooted on your lips when you spotted your brother and his friends. All three of them staring at you with an odd look.
You started to walk towards them, having no idea that they just saw what happened.
"Hey Dustin, you ready to go?" You asked him cautiously when you noticed he was in a sort of trance-like shock.
When he didn't respond, you turned to look at Lucas. "What's wrong with him?"
Lucas tried to respond but a snorting laugh came from his throat instead.
You were about to ask Mike when you realized asking Lucas was useless when he was too busy laughing to actually talk. But Dustin spoke up before you couldn't even get a word in.
"Are you and Eddie dating now?" He blurted out. His voice was monotone. He didn't exactly know how to feel about it.
"Wait what?" You nervously chuckled at your brother's question. Oh god, don't tell me he saw me and Eddie-
Dustin pointed out. "I saw you and Eddie."
Is he a telepath now?
You scratched the back of your neck, you honestly didn't know what to do in this situation. Were you supposed to console him? Ignore it? Convince him that it's a good thing? You didn't know, it was hard to figure it out when Dustin wasn't exactly showing any sign of emotion.
Even with the large crowd surrounding you guys, you could almost hear him breath. They were slow and shaky breaths, which only concerned you further.
You reached out to him gently, "Dustin, let's just-"
"WHY THE FUCK DID YOU LET EDDIE-"
Your hand immediately flew to his mouth to drown out his yelling. But the majority of that sentence was heard by the crowd and now nearly half of the school's eyes were on you.
You chuckled a nervous laugh as you faced the crowd, "Don't listen to my brother, he's just a bit tired out from school, that's all." You grinned anxiously as you started to drag Dustin to your bike with your hand still clasped over his mouth.
You looked to Mike and Lucas and sent them an apologetic grin, "Make sure you boys get home safe, alright?"
The two nodded with an impish grin as they waved you goodbye. They watched as Dustin struggled to get your strong grip off his mouth.
Just as you were about to reach the bike, you felt a sudden wet feeling in your hand and immediately screeched when you realized what it was.
"Dustin! What the fuck?!" You cringed as you started to wipe off the saliva from your hand onto Dustin's shirt.
"Gross! Don't wipe it on me!" Dustin protested as he started to push your hand away.
"It's your saliva! Not mine!" You argued as you got the rest of it off your hand.
You huffed a sigh as you sat on your bike, placing on your helmet and waiting for Dustin to do the same.
"Well you didn't mind it when Eddie kissed your hand!" Dustin voiced as he followed your actions. Taking the seat behind you and rooting his hands on your shoulders to keep himself from falling off.
"He kissed it, you licked it. Two VERY different things, Dipshit." You elaborated as you started the bike and began to drive off.
"Whatever, he still did it." Dustin added with a frown.
You hesitated in chosing your words, worried that if you said the wrong ones, Dustin would go berserk and you would crash. "Well you might have to get used to it."
His grip on your shoulders tightened, "What do you mean by that?"
"I'm just saying that there's a possibility you might be seeing more of Eddie than you usually do." You hinted as you drove by the thick woods.
"Wait...so you're telling me you're dating him now?!" Dustin questioned, peaking his head over your shoulder to get a view of your face.
"Well, we're technically going on our first date tonight-"
"You've never told me you even liked Eddie, let alone wanted to date him." Dustin muttered, he was mostly lost in thought. Maybe he missed a few details during his elementary years when you were still in highschool with Eddie.
You mentioned Eddie a few times during those years but he thought nothing of it. Whenever Eddie would ask about you, he thought it was because he was just curious if you remembered him or anything.
"You never asked. And besides, did you tell me when you first decided to start dating Suzie?" You inquired, hoping to make him see your side of the story a little better.
"No, I didn't, but this is different. I'm friends with Eddie and-"
"You don't want neither of us to get hurt and ruin things at home and at hellfire club. Is that it?" You pointed out without even hesitating.
You've thought about the whole dynamic a few times, maybe even more than a few times, and you knew the risks but the end made it all worth it.
Even though you couldn't see him, you knew Dustin agreed with your statement completely.
"I know that Eddie plays an important role in your life right now. From the way you talk about him, I know how much you value his friendship. But I promise you, that nothing is going to ruin that if he and I date. Maybe it'll get even better, who knows? You're just going to have to trust me, Dusty." You assured him the best you could.
There was this pause of silence. It felt deafening. If only you could read minds, telepathy would be a pretty great power to have. And that's coming from a person who saw it happen first-hand.
You were worried that Dustin wouldn't approve. Even though his reply wouldn't affect your plans for the night, having Dustin's approval would be better.
You were closing in on your street and you were worried that once you got home, Dustin would lock you out of his room and ignore you for the rest of the week. You didn't want your little brother resenting you in any way. It would break your heart.
Dustin reluctantly sighed, "Fine, I trust you. As long as you're happy then I'm fine with that. But if Eddie does anything to hurt you, say the word and he's Demogorgon food."
You bursted out laughing with relief, "Don't worry, Dusty. I'll make sure to keep that in mind."
~~~~~
It was nearing 7 pm and you were looking in the mirror, trying to see if there was anything out of place. After trying to fix that one stray hair for the fifth time tonight you let out a groan of frustration. Your anxiety was eating you up.
What if he doesn't like what I'm wearing?
What if he changed his mind and stands me up?
What if he realizes I'm just a mess and runs the other way?
You didn't realize it, but you were pacing around your room back and forth like a nervous wreck. Fortunately your mind strayed from those thoughts when you heard a knock on your door.
You opened the door to reveal your younger brother. He had this thing lipped smile, as if it was an awkward moment for him.
"So uh, I think Eddie just pulled up, thought you should know." He muttered before heading to the living room.
You let out a sigh in attempt to get all of the nervousness out of you. "You're fine, it'll go great and you'll have nothing to worry about" You whispered to yourself before following Dustin into the living room.
Your mom who was watching TV in the living room looked up at the two of you with curiosity, "Oh! Y/n/n, you look so beautiful, sweetheart. That Munson boy will be so lucky. Have fun on your date."
You grinned at your mom with a grateful smile, "Thanks mom, I will."
Just as you were about to walk away, you could faintly hear her whisper to herself, "Oh to be young and in love again."
And on cue, the door bell rang. You and Dustin shared a look you before you both raced to the door. Unfortunately Dustin was a few steps ahead of you so he beat you to it.
He pulled the door open to reveal Eddie standing at their doorstep. He was holding a bouquet of flowers and it seems that he lost the battle vest and stuck with his leather jacket. You even noticed that he styled his hair a bit, making his curls more visible.
All your insecurities washed away when you saw the way his eyes lit up at the sight of you.
"Y/n." He breathed out. He looked almost speechless. His heavy gaze left you a blushing mess. You felt like you were going to melt on the spot.
"Eddie." You too were speechless, you still couldn't believe that you were going on a date with Eddie. Freaking. Munson.
Dustin rolled his eyes feeling like he didn't have to see this interaction, "And Dustin? Now that we're all acquainted, let's get this over with."
His words broke the little trance both you and Eddie were in. You nearly forgot that Dustin was even there.
Eddie shook his head with a laugh as he looked at Dustin, "How's it going, Henderson?"
"Good, as long as you get her back home by 10 pm." Dustin voiced out with a serious tone.
You laughed at Dustin's words while Eddie chuckled a nervous laughter. Not knowing whether he was being serious or not.
Eddie went on to face you and grinned a blissful smile. He glanced over to Dustin before leaning in towards you to whisper something, "You look absolutely gorgeous by the way. And someone as gorgeous as you deserves flowers, even if they could never compare to how you look tonight." He smirked as he handed you the bouquet.
You could feel your face turn red and you honestly didn't mind because you were too flustered to even care, "Didn't realize you were such a poet, Munson." You giggled lightly as you took in the scent of the flowers.
You let out a small gasp of disbelief when you realized that they were same flowers you mentioned liking around 4 years ago. You grinned at the sentiment, "You remembered."
Eddie grinned, how could he forget? He knew how much you liked those flowers because he knew they reminded you of your favourite place in all of Hawkins. There's this place deep inside the forest that's just flooded with flowers, not a lot of people know about it. The scent brought lots of memories to you.
"I'm gonna put them in some water, just wait here." You grinned as you left the two boys to their own devices. Not knowing that Eddie was going to get the lecture of his life.
Now that you were gone, Dustin took the opportunity to give Eddie a piece of his mind.
"Listen Eddie, you may be older and much stronger than me. But if you hurt Y/n in any way, insult her or make her feel like shit. I will bring the wrath of 6 teenagers with me, one of them is someone you really don't want to mess with. That one being me. So you better treat her like she's the greatest person in the world because she is to me."
Eddie knew you meant a lot to Dustin. He knew he looked up to you and cared a lot about you. But he never knew just how much. He understood what he was doing and promised himself to not mess up. If he did, he'd never forgive himself.
"Don't worry, Henderson. I promise I won't ever hurt her. If I did, you have my full permission to beat the sense into me. I'll do everything in my power to make sure she's happy, I promise." Eddie spoke in complete honesty. He'd do anything for you. If he could, he'd probably block out the sun if it was too harsh on you.
Dustin knew Eddie wasn't the type to play with anyone's feelings so he knew he was telling the truth. But even with that, he knew he wasn't lying because he saw the way he looked at you, full of awe and admiration. As uncomfortable as it was to admit, Eddie Munson liked his sister and his sister liked him.
He gave Eddie a nod of approval, silently saying that he trusted him enough to go on a date with his sister. Before Dustin could say anything else, he was interrupted by your arrival.
"Okay, I'm ready, let's go shall we?" You beamed at Eddie. Your previous nervousness was replaced with a sparking excitement.
Eddie smiled an adorable grin your way as he held out a hand to you. "Yes, we shall, M'lady."
You stepped out of the house and as you walked down the lawn, you turned to Dustin who was watching you two strolled away. "We promise to be back by 10!"
Dustin chuckled as he nodded, "You better!"
Y/N's POV:
Me and my sister are currently in Mike's basement with our friends - Nancy, Robin, Dustin, Max, Erica, Will, Lucas, Argyle, Steve and Mike, El's boyfriend. It isn't so bad here, it's actually quite nice. It's my first time here, I was staying with Joyce Byers before me and my sister were on a run since papa showed up. And finally, we're together again. Joyce adopted me and Eleven a week after Eleven and I met again.
She's number 11 and I'm number ten. We recently found out about our mother a week ago, before everything went downhill. First, we found out that a gate to the Upside down was opened. Last but not the least, papa showed up which is a bad sign. Turns out my name is actually Y/N and Eleven is Jane.
"You could've died in there! You could've been taken by that thing!" Steve argued back to me. I don't know why he didn't want me to go.
"Well, I didn't, Steve. Why didn't you want me to go? Did you want my sister to do it alone?! Did you want her to die?!" I raised my voice angrily. If he wants my sister to die, I'll die with her - or he could die first before my sister.
"No! I don't! I don't want you to go because I love you and I can't lose you!"
Everyone gasped at Steve's response. Oh. my. God. He likes me!? Steve 'the hair' Harrington likes me?! The playboy, Heartthrob Steve likes me?! That's why?! Even I was taken back at his sudden confession. He froze at his spot when he realized what he had just said.
"Holy Shit. You like y/n! I knew it!" Lucas broke the silence between all of us, he began chanting, "Steve likes y/n" with Dustin, Max and El.
He groans out of embarrassment "It's not like that, okay?"
"El and I win Dustin" Max said to the kid while doing the 'give me' hand gesture. Did they just do bet on us? Dustin groaned loudly and gave Max and El their prize.
"You did a betted on us?" I asked, I received a nod from the four kids "Oh my God. Why?"
"We always sense some sexual tension when you two lock eyes every time. It's like you are talking with each other with your minds. So we thought that you two like each other, so, we made a bet. El and Max went for you two having a crush on each other and and I went for you two only having either one of you likes the other" Dustin explained to us
"Telepathy" El added
"For how much?" Steve asked
"A hundred bucks" Max blurted out
"A hundred bucks?!" Steve and I exclaimed in synch, we share a surprised look before looking back at the four kids.
"Yeah, two teams. Each person on that team gets 50 bucks" Dustin explained to us
"Wait! Are we just going to ignore the fact that y/n didn't say anything after Steve's confession?" Mike interrupted us. Right. I didn't.
"Do you like Steve back?" Nancy asked me straight away
I turn to Steve "Can I talk to you, " I glance at the kids then looked back at him "Alone?"
"Y.. yeah, s... sure" He stuttered with scratching the back of his neck, the two of us went out of the house to talk alone. Without any kids. But I'm pretty sure that at least one of them followed us out, those snoops . "What did you, uh, want to talk about?"
"About what you said. Is it true? Because I don't want to be the only one who believes that it's not true" I answered
No one's POV:
Whilst y/n and Steve are talking outside, the kids in the basement were betting once again.
"I'll go with y/n doesn't feel the same way" Lucas betted first
"Same" Max, El, Nancy, Dustin and Robin all teamed with Lucas.
"I'll go with y/n feeling the same way" Mike declared, confident with his answer
"I'm with Mike" Will, Jonathan, Eddie and Argyle teamed with Mike
"Wait, you're all seriously betting over y/n/n and Steve?" Erica interrupted the betting
"As you heard, yes we are. Whose team are you on?" Nancy asked the kid
"I'll choose but it depends on how much the winner wins" Erica sassed
Honestly, Robin was hurt when she found out that Steve likes y/n because she has taken a liking to the y/h/c woman ever since they met. No one actually knows who y/n really likes, that's why they betted in the first place. Robin and y/n are very close friends, both women work together at Scoops Ahoy with Steve. The mall has been in Hawkins for a year now, and ever since it was built, many stores in the downtown have lost its customers, including the local video rental store.
Where you and Robin first met, you were looking for a job there and you saw that the local video rental store, known now as Family Video, was hiring so you applied, there you met Robin and the rest in history.
"20 bucks," Lucas answered "Each person on the winner team gets 20 bucks"
"25" Erica opposed the deal
"20" Lucas argued
"25 or I'm not picking"
"Fine. 25 bucks for each person on the winner team" Lucas gave up
"Then I'll go with y/n feels the same way" Erica chose a team.
At that exact moment, when the other team was about to argue Steve and y/n came walking down the stairs. As y/n steps on the floor, she took Robin's hand and dragged the woman beside her. Steve had a miserable expression on his face.
"Steve. Robin. Would you two like to share what you two are feeling about me so I could decide, please?" Y/N requested. Only Nancy knows about Robin's feelings for y/n, and only Jonathan knows about Steve's feelings for y/n which is now revealed to the kids.
Everyone looked quizzically at y/n, confused about what she's talking about.
"Then I'm not picking" she sighed, walking limply to the couch and plopped on it while everyone still had their eyes on her. "What? You're wondering why I know, am I right?"
Robin and Steve nodded, as well as the others. That made y/n sigh again and stood up, with her hands holding each other behind her as she walks towards the people she says, "Well, Robin, itall started when.."
What happend, this is in y/n's POV:
After I had studied with Billy in the back of Scoops Ahoy, I overheard Robin and Nancy talking, little did they know that I heard them
"I can't tell her yet, it's hard, Nance" Robin groaned
"You have to, or else one day you'll wake up and see that she's walking down the aisle, getting married to the love of her life whilst you stand there, completely regretting that you didn't tell her sooner" Nancy told her best friend
"But what if she doesn't like me back?"
"At least you told her before it's too late"
End of story, No one's POV:
"Oh" Robin whispered, embarrassed that y/n, her crush, had to find out like that.
"And as for Steve," you sighed "you all know how I found out" you sat back down on the couch
"So who's your pick? I can treat you better" Steve stated
Robin frowned and said, "I know I can treat you better that he can"
"any girl like you deserves a gentleman" Steve fought
"Tell me why are we wasting time on all your wasted crying hen you should be with me instead? I know I can treat you better better than he can" Robin argued
"I'll stop time for you. The second you say you'd like me too" Steve argued back
Everyone was amused by this little show, probably the highlight of the sleepover.
"This is a sleepover, not some open forum" Dustin whispered to Max
"Let them fight for y/n. It's amusing" Max whispered to Dustin. Robin started walking towards you, gripping onto your arms gently as she looks into your eyes.
"I just wanna give you the loving that you're missing. Baby, just to wake up with you. Would be everything I need, and this could be so different. Tell me what you want to do" Robin finished softly, y/n searched for any lies through Robin's eyes but she found nothing but love, desperation and... lust? "Who's your pick?"
"I choose..."
Dating Steve Harrington and Being A Wheeler Sibling
Tumblr media
summary: what it’s like to date steve harrington while being the oldest wheeler sibling
pairing: steve harrington x reader (wheeler!reader)
warnings: swearing, a bit of awkwardness, mentions of canon typical violence
note: this ask is literally ancient i’m so sorry this took forever !! i hope you like it !! <3
Dating your little sister’s ex-boyfriend is a very hard concept to explain to your family.
Obviously, you met Steve when Nancy started bringing him home. You always thought he was cute, admiring his chocolate brown eyes, his luscious brown hair, and the way his jeans fit just right.
You and Nancy had even talked about him, way back when Nancy’s relationship with Steve was nothing more than a harmless crush. The two of you spent a lot of nights together, giggling about Steve “The Hair” Harrington.
When Nancy and Steve broke up, it was a pretty big shock to your whole family. None of you really expected their relationship to end.
Everyone got used to not having Steve around. The only time you saw him was when he would occasionally drop Mike or Dustin off at your house, hurriedly kicking them out of the car and spending off before anyone could see him.
However, between getting a summer job at Scoops Ahoy, fighting off evil Russians, and saving Hawkins together, you and Steve became pretty close.
Of course, by this point, Nancy had moved on, seeking comfort from Jonathan Byers after the events of Starcourt while you secretly sought comfort in her ex.
The two of you date secretly for months, both of you offering up lame excuses to those around you just so you could meet up somewhere.
Then, the day came where you finally couldn’t keep the secret up anymore. Mike had seen Steve climbing through your window, similarly to how he’d caught Steve sneaking out of Nancy’s window a few years prior.
This situation is definitely awkward to everyone involved.
Your mother, who opened the door, ushering Steve in out of the wet, cold rain, rambling on about how she “didn’t know Nancy and Jonathan had broken up, but Nancy doesn’t really talk to her about those kinds of things and oh, it’s so nice to see you again, Steve, she’s so glad you and Nancy could work things out!”
Steve, apologetically and awkwardly, has to explain that “No, Mrs. Wheeler, he’s not here to see Nance, he’s here to see Y/N.”
Mike and Holly, who just got used to having Steve around so much when he was with Nancy, then they broke up and they got used to not having Steve around, but now Steve is around again? It’s really confusing and Mike is decidedly choosing to stay out of his siblings’ love lives, especially when they involve Steve Harrington.
And Nancy, who did love Steve at one point but couldn’t deal with the guilt and shame of losing Barb. Now, she’s with Jonathan and she loves him so much so it shouldn’t matter who Steve is dating, but she can’t get over that small pang of betrayal when you introduce Steve as your “boyfriend.”
It takes a long time (and multiple late night talks) but Nancy eventually comes around to the idea of you and Steve. Her deciding factor was seeing the look on Steve’s face when you walked into the room. His eyes lit up and you would’ve thought there was nobody else in the world besides Y/N Wheeler. Nancy questions whether Steve ever really looked at her that way.
Nancy and Steve are still a little awkward and the tension between them is definitely noticeable, but they both try really hard to be friends. Eventually, they become pretty good friends. Both of them agree that their relationship is so much better when it’s purely platonic.
Steve tries really hard to become close with your siblings. He knows Mike and they’ve hung out before, but he’s never really gotten close to Mike. He makes a real effort to do so, offering up girl advice, free rides, and even learning about DnD so they have something to talk about.
It starts a little awkward and it takes a while for them to really get comfortable with each other, but Mike really likes Steve and he’s glad that he’s around more.
Steve also really wants to bond with Holly !! He thinks that she’s adorable and offers to babysit frequently. When Steve is in public, he can often be seen with Holly in one arm while arguing with Dustin
(Steve even considers getting a car seat permanently installed in his car but after a lot of convincing from Dustin, he decides not to)
Steve isn’t a huge fan of your dad, but he loves your mom !! He’s so polite and loves bringing her flowers.
He’s always invited to family dinners/holidays !! Christmas is always fun with your family because there’s so many of you. Steve prefers it to Christmas at his house, which often just consists of him eating cookies and opening gifts in an empty house.
You love to tease Steve about his reputation within your family (only after he and Nancy are more comfortable, obviously).
Overall, Steve loves you and your family. He’s very glad to have been accepted into home for the second time around.
In a small rural town in Hawkins, Indiana, is where this strange adventure begins. Born 18 years ago is our main protagonist of the story, Y/N Wheeler. Y/N grew up with a loving family that owns a farm, consisting of her twin sister, Nancy, her younger brother, Mike, and baby sister, Holly; and of course her parents.
When she wasn’t helping out on her parents’ farm, Y/N was the typical “all american” girl. She dawns lovely clothes, is mindful and full of manners, a cheer captain and top of her classes throughout the school years and earned many straight A’s that steered her in the right direction for a bright future and career. Which leads to her very big day…
.
.
.
Now here you are, dressed in hunter green silk and caps, the seniors waited around on the bleachers of the basketball court, diplomas in hand as they listened to their principal speak from his heart, telling them that he was very proud that you made it this far. When he finishes everyone claps and soon the spotlight falls upon you as the class valedictorian.
You stood up as your name was called, hearing everyone applaud and your family cheer from you in the stands; You even heard your boyfriend, Jason, shouting your name. You step up to the podium with a smile, proceeding to recite the speech that you’ve replayed thousands of times.
“Today, I would like to talk about change. It’s all around us.” You feel your family’s eyes on you as you begin. “Change. It happens whether we want it or not. Change. Are we ready for it? I think so. We are poised and prepared for the future, ready to embrace new people, places and ideas. In short, we are ready for the challenge of life. Lady and Gentleman, take a good look at us. We are the future. We are the Hawkins Tigers. Here us roar! We did it!”
“I give you the class of 20XX!” Your principal sent just as everyone sent their caps into the air while jumping with joy.
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
“We fucking did.” Your twin, Nancy, said once everyone was settled down into their friend’s house for the party. She passes you a drink and gives you a wink to silently tell you this was a… special fruit punch.
You laugh quietly. “Thank you Mr. Hopper.” You smile and take a sip before sighing with relief. “Four long years and it’s finally over.”
Nancy hums. “And you’re the one who’s jumping right back into it.”
You quirk your eyebrow up. “Hey, pot-kettle? You’re going to college, too.”
“Not willing…” She sighs. “I wish I could have gone to the same school as you.”
“I know.” You frown a little. It was always hard to not stay attached to your twin, especially when you’ve done pretty much everything together. However, you try to keep both your hopes up by saying, “But, hey… you can’t pass up a scholarship. Indiana’s instate school is still just as great as California’s. Not to mention, Indiana U has the best journalism courses, this is your dream! Your calling! You’ll be great.”
You see your sister smile, happy with the outcome just as someone came up and slung their arms around both your shoulders.
“How are my favorite girls doing?” Jonathan, who was your childhood/best friend, asked, with the biggest grin on his face. Whether that was from drinking or feeling the high of not being in highschool, you were unsure of but glad to see he was enjoying himself.
“Pretty amazing, actually.” Nancy replies to her boyfriend (Yeah, her boyfriend. Whom she should thank you for that). “You?”
He lets out a blissful sigh. “Fantastic! The nightmare is finally over.”
You snorted and teased, “You really didn’t like it?”
“Hell, no. You think there’s room for a nerd like me? I never fit in.”
“Awe.” Nancy said, squeezing his cheek. “You’ll always be our nerd.”
“Thanks.”
“Hey, hey! Y/N! Jonathan!” You both turned around to spot one of your brothers’ friends, Dustin. He smiles with his goofy toothless grin, making you heart melt (He was always your favorite one. Don’t tell, Mike). “Hey, if you find a cute girl around my age in Cali, send her my way.”
“Dusty!” His mother said, catching his conversation when she walked by.
“What?”
Jonathan laughs. “We’ll try. I promise.” He said, ruffling the kid’s springy hair.
He holds his hand to his chest, all moved. “What about you Nancy? Any cute girls in Bloomington?”
“I will definitely try, Dustin.” She promises as well, crossing her heart. It must have been enough for the boy before he ran off with some friends to the backyard.
“What do you think Cali’s like?” Jonathan asked, genuinely curious.
“Hmm, don’t know.” Nancy said, knowing just watching shows from there and reading up about it wasn’t enough information.
“I mean, sun, sand, ocean, uh–”
“Baywatch, The Hollywood sign, uh, Nickelodeon, um–” You started naming off things and couldn’t hide the fact that you were about to laugh at your own antics. Both your sister and friend were on the verge of doing the same.
“Nickelodeon?” Jonathan muttered, surprised.
“Y-Yeah, uh, Regular Show, San Andreas fault, Chris Pine, Comic Con, Pet Rocks–”
“Pet Rocks?” Nancy asked, confused.
“Hey, they were invented in the state, look it up. Uh, Universal Studios, Barbie, The San Diego Zoo, Alcatraz–”
She chuckles. “Y/N, Stop.”
“Never.”
“Oh, kids!” Jonathan’s mother, Joyce, called out, getting their attention.
Well, I guess that’s your guys’ cue to take some photos.
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
You were all packed and ready to go for the next day. Since Nancy didn’t start school till next week, your family decided it would be nice for all of you to pack in the old van and drive to your new school. Your Dad says it was for… safety, but you knew better; They were all going to desperately miss you. Which leads to this conversation that’s been going back and forth for a few moments now.
“-California is a long way off just to go to school. Are you sure you don’t want to reconsider going in state?” Your father, Ted, asked, and just when you were about to ‘go to bed’.
You laugh lightly, trying to calm his nerves. “You know I want to do this. Besides, I won’t be alone. Jonathan will be there with me.”
“Well– that’s true. But uh, Y/N, I’m not sure if I’ve really prepared you for what you’re gonna run into out there. Uh–” He clears his throat as you raise an eyebrow. “What I mean is… the boys are different from what they are here. They’re uh–”
“Dad?”
“Hmm?”
You smile. “I’ll be fine. You know me.”
He nods. “Yeah, I guess you’re right.” He knows you well enough that you won’t do anything too crazy. “Now let’s try to get some shut eye.”
“Okay.”
“Goodnight.”
“‘Night.”
And when the door shut, your closet automatically flew wide open (and you pray that it didn’t make too much noise).
“He’s officially calling it a night?” Nancy asked, dressed in street clothes which you were also wearing under your robe. She was skeptical as she stared at the door wondering if he’ll just waltz back in here without warning.
“Yep.” You reply, shedding your coverage and standing tall.
“Oh, finally! He gave the same talk, and I don’t leave for another week!” She smiles. “Thanks for letting me sneak out.”
“Hey, we both got to see our boyfriends before we leave, right?”
“Just–” She grabs you by your hands. “Be careful, alright?”
“Right back at you, Nance.”
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
You found yourself in the barn that was far away from your house. Laying on the hay bales, you were kissing Jason passionately, your hands in his hair and slowly moaning his name as he slowly undoes each button on your blouse. But your worriedness got the best of you, making you squirm a bit from his touch.
“Jason.” You whisper, feeling his fingers skim across your bra straps.
“What?” He said back, ghosting your ripe lips.
“Slow down.”
“Why?”
“‘Cause I-I want it to be right.” You reply, a twinge of guilt courses through you as he stops his actions, looking you dead in the eyes with concern and softness.
“Well, when is it going to be right?” He asked, sounding like a lost puppy. “You’re leaving tomorrow.”
You almost laugh at the face he was making. “You act like it’s forever.”
“Well I’m not going to see you for three months. What if everything changes?”
“Nothing is going to change.” You shake your head, cupping his face and stroking his cheeks with your thumb. “I’ll go to school, you’ll work at the co-op, and we’ll see each other every single vacation. And when I’m done–” You smile. “We’ll be together.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
“Okay.” He whispers, fully under your spell. “I guess I can wait.”
You hum in delight. “Now…” You pull him closer again. “Where were we?”
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
“Dad’s going to blow a fuse if we don’t leave soon!” Nancy says, barging into the bathroom where you were finishing up doing your hair.
“I know, I know. I’m finishing up.” You said, sparing your twin a glance. You can see her button her collared shirt all the way up, making you grin like the cheshire cat. “Oooh… I didn’t know Byers was a biter.”
She blushed and lightly smacked you in the arm. “Do not tease me. I mean he always is.”
Your eyebrows shot up. “Always?”
“Yeah.” She locks eyes with you, face still red before realizing. “Wait… You and Jason still haven’t done it?”
Now it was your turn to blush. “W-Well–”
“I thought you surely were going to do it last night?”
“I-I don’t know, I got weird.” You shrug, breaking eye contact. “I told him we should wait, you know, when the time’s right.”
“So you’re going to be like a 40 year old virgin?” Nancy teased, copying your grin from earlier.
“Hey.” You said, smacking her this time.
“Joking, I think it’s sweet. Y/N Wheeler, the purest of all Wheelers.”
“You know they think you’re pure too.” You said as you followed her out and down the stairs.
“Ha, ha.”
“I’m serious, Nance!” You reply, feeling around your pockets as you do so. “Oh, crap. I forgot my phone.”
“Well hurry up! Dad’s a ticking time bomb.” She yelled back and hustled out of the house. The conversation she foretold was being presented in front of her.
“I don’t get why we’re driving. Flying would be much easier.” Mike complained as he loaded his backpack into the car with a sour expression.
“We’re just trying to spend some quality time with your sister, Okay?” Their mother, Karen said, giving him a look to tell him to stop.
“Oh, good, Holly’s here.” Ted said, as he spotted the four year old climbing into the van. “Mike, where’s your sisters?”
“I’m here!” Nancy said, while fixing her hair to cover her neck.
“Okay, where’s Y/N then?”
“Maybe she’s still in the barn with–” Mike snickers, before getting whacked in the back of his head by Nancy. “Ow! Mom!”
“Kids, stop fighting!” Karen shouted back.
“Y/N!” Ted called out, upon seeing his daughter still up in her room through her window.
“Coming!” You called back, double checking you have everything before you go (I mean I guess your family could mail anything you need to you but that’ll be a hassle for them; And maybe kind of a dick to do that to them?).
“Well hurry up! Time is of the essence.” He sighs. “I swear, the Byers are going to beat us there.
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
And sure enough…
They did.
Parking pretty much right next to each other, you stood their basking in front of the school along with Jonathan and his sister. The younger girl was looking at it like she’s never seen such a big building before.
“Bitchin’.” She says, and both you and Jonathan hold back a laugh.
“Language, young lady.” Jim, or who you like to call, Hopper said to his daughter who gave him a strange look.
“You say it all the time.”
“Think she’s caught you there.” Jonathan said, throwing salt into the wound.
“You’re not helping your sister here.” He points to the car. “Now I’m going to make my kids grab your own bags.”
“What?!” They said, which resulted in some light bickering, which was kind of happening with the other family beside them.
“Y/N! Get your head out of the clouds, and let’s find your dorm.” Ted said, and you hurry over.
The families grabbed the belongings and headed straight first into the hectic crowd. This was definitely a culture shock for them, especially for the Wheelers. The hallway was crowded with rowdy young adults, cracking jokes, makeout sessions, and even the occasionally streaker. You locked eyes with your sister when it happened, who was trying to hold back a smirk as your eyes just stayed wide. Your dad ushered you to keep moving until you found your dorm, overhearing a conversation while you passed.
“Uh, this was the– uh, opportunity that you wanted for your daughter?” Ted said, as Karen tried to hold back her feelings on her face (Which was hard at this point).
When you finally got to the room at the end of the hall, room 408, you noticed the left side of the room was empty, free for you to use. The other side was already occupied, filled with a few movie posters and cheer pendants. You smiled and wondered what your roommate would be like (and was excited that she likes cheerleading like you. At least you have a good conversation started).
“Hey, why don’t you see where Jonathan’s at?” You tell Nancy who complied and dove back into the crowd.
“Well this is very cozy, sweetie.” Karen said, trying to stay positive.
“It’s a shithole.” Mike replies, plopping on your bed.
“Mike!”
“What?”
“It’s… not bad. I’ll do.” You said, also trying to keep your head up high. But your brother tries to say something else and you were fortunately saved by a cute ginger girl entering the room.
“Hello, there. I’m Chrissy, your roomie.” She said, slightly shy as she gave the family a wave.
“Hi.” You said, waving too. “I’m Y/N.”
“Sorry to bother you, Chrissy, but it seems we forgot the key to her trunk.” Ted said, gesturing to where most of your belongings were. “Do you have any idea where I can get some tools?”
“Oh, yes. Uh, our resident advisor should have something.” She points across the hall. “He’s right across from here.”
“Oh, perfect. Thank you.” He was secretly happy that his precious daughter would be across from the advisor. He pushes himself past some people, knuckles brushing against the door. He knocked a few times afterwards when he didn’t get a response, wondering if maybe it was too loud to even hear it or he’s not in. So, treading carefully, he opens the door to peek inside.
This was not at all what he was expecting.
He was blasted in the face with ‘Iron Maiden’, and a room that screamed heavy metal. Stickers and posters laid across the wall, all consisting of either some kind of band or horror film; A record player-CD combo on the shelf, instruments of every kind, sheet music on the floor, leather jackets and boots hanging off from the windows and ceiling. This was not…
Resident advisor material.
Did he walk into the wrong place or–
“Hello!!” A voice shouts before he dangled upside down in front of the older man. Ted nearly has a heart attack as he startles and falls back against the door. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you, I’m just trying to get the creative juices flowing. You know?”
“Uh– s-sure.” Ted said, still trying to process this. He keeps his eyes on him and not the fact that this boy was hanging from a pipe. “Um, I need to borrow a screwdriver.”
The boy, who’s hair was long and curly and orbs of cinnamon, raised an eyebrow. “Sorry, I’m all out of vodka.”
“N-No, I need an actually screwdriver. My daughter’s trunk is–”
“Oh, you have a daughter! Is she cute?”
“What–”
“I’m just kidding.” He smiles and holds his hand out. “Name’s Eddie. I’m the resident advisor.”
Make that a second heart attack for Mr. Wheeler, who’s face paled as he tried reaching for the doorknob behind him. “Oh, shit. Oh, shit.”
“What? Where are you going?” He asked, with a snort. “Don’t leave me hanging.”
But Ted was already hustling back over to the room where they were still talking to Chrissy, who was getting them up to speed on how this place ran. He comes over to his wife, pulling her aside and discussing what he just witnessed and how he’s not liking this. Meanwhile, Nancy had just returned while stringing along her boyfriend.
“Oh, Chrissy, this is my twin Nancy and my friend Jonathan.” You said, as she waves to them.
“Hi. You guys coming to school too?” Chrissy asked, your sister shaking her head.
“I am.” Jonathan said, before looking at you. “Y/N/N, this is awesome.”
You tilt your head. “Really? I still think this is a bit overwhelming.”
“I admit, it is, but my roommate, Argyle, is a trip.” He smiles. “I’m so going to love this place.”
“See, honey–” Karen said, loudly. “Jonathan’s staying.” She holds her hand up to stop her husband from talking. “And yes, I’m sure Joyce has some words about this place too, but the kids can’t pass this up. They got on a scholarship here.”
“But Karen–” He tries to protest.
“They. Have. A. Scholarship. They’re staying.” Her eyes trailed over to yours. “Right?”
You flash your dad a smile. “Don’t worry, Dad. It’ll be fine. And you know I can always come home.”
“See, Ted?” Your mother points out, finally defeating him. He mumbles an ‘okay’, satisfying her.
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
“Mom, you’re suffocating me.” Jonathan said, after yet another hug and kiss from his mother. She was holding back some tears at the thought of leaving her oldest child behind in another state.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I’m really happy for you, I promise.”
“I know, Mom, I know.” He takes her hands in his. “I promise I’ll be okay.” She opens her mouth to speak. “And I promise I’ll call every once and a while.”
Joyce smiles at the answer. “You’re going to do great.”
The family of five shared a hug afterwards, wishing him the best of luck. Meanwhile, the Wheelers were doing the same, squeezing the life of You and nagging you to make you call, or at least text them here and there. You of course promised them too, which was a good enough answer.
The last person to hug you was your sister, giving you a small squeeze of reassurance, knowing you like the back of her hand.
“I know you’re nervous about fitting it, but don’t sweat it.” She says, pulling away. “You’re going to do fine. If not, you can always go home, or…” She smirks. “You can nag Jonathan.”
You chuckle. “Of course I can nag him. It’s not like I’ll be alone.”
You have Jonathan, and you even have your chill roommate, Chrissy. You shouldn’t get too lonely.
Hi! Can I please request a Nancy Wheeler and Robin Buckley x reader platonic fic where Nancy and Robin both kind of see reader as like a younger sister figure and maybe they’re all in the upside down together / at Starcourt or something and reader gets hurt (despite Nancy already being overprotective) and it’s just angst but gentle. I’m sorry if that makes no sense I just love your works and I’m dying for you to write something Nancy / Robin based :) <3
A Perfect Plan
"I can be the one to distract it while El goes-"
"No." Robin cuts in.
"You could get hurt, Y/n." Nancy adds taking a step forward, filled with worries.
"She could switch with, um, Lucas. Anyone can throw a rock at a big ass monster." Robin suggests.
"No, she can't. Lucas is the only one experienced enough. It has to be him." Mike argues, aggressively turning his head towards the older girls.
"It's not a rock, me and Will found fireworks instead." Lucas corrects.
"So what if Y/n gets hurt, what if Lucas gets hurt. We all might die, so getting hurt a little bit doesn't sound so bad when compared to death." Jonathan throws out there.
Nancy and Robin both seemed apprehensive about you going into trouble, but they all were so there wasn't much they could do.
"Fine, Y/n can be the distraction."
"Yeah, thanks for your blessing." Mike said, somewhat under his breath, getting to his feet.
"Well everyone knows the plan. Lets get out there..." Steve told the group.
---
"I am ready, gonna run like the speeding gazelle that I totally am..." You whispered to yourself.
Everyone was stationed in there hiding spots, and after almost an hour, there was a distant rumble and you walkied up to Dustin and Lucas.
"You guys heard that? Over."
"Copy, we did hear it. Stay sharp. Over."
"Copy that, Dust. Over." You shut off the walkie and looked out at the light up mall, that was completely empty. No shoppers shopping, only light up shops with no cashiers to check you out at a slow day at the mall, but it was close to midnight and the dead silence was making you feel sick. The eerie air finally settling, just as your sense were over loaded with noise. It was your queue. You had to run. You had to run right now. Waving and shaking yourself around you ran out and was immediately stunned at the size of the iky creature that had all its focus on you. A scream from the other end of the mall square got not only the Monster's but your attention as well. Panic washing over you, you screamed back and continued until the monsters full attention was on you again.
"KILL ME MIND FLAYER!!!" Nancy heard your scream with tears in her eyes as she ran to her next position, going to meet Steve.
You were running around as the rest of the group got into there final positions. Legs aching, you ran on, pushing yourself, waiting for the signal. It was life or death and with the will to live on, your legs never stopped.
An Explosion from the other side of the mall rang in your ears, Lucas's voice as follows, "Eat this, you ugly piece of shit!" another round of fireworks went off.
You jogged off to the side, leaning against a wall, catching your breath and saw your friends take on the monster themselves. Steve and Nancy's trap had seemed to be going on just fine, not that the monster was having any of it, but it was working to an extent.
El was up and after a final deep breath to get it all back you looked around for her. Billy was even standing in the darkness. Almost running out, wanting to do something to help but came up empty handed. You had nothing to help with. Your eyes scanned the place around you, a water fountain, closed store front, and a janitors closet. Nothing useful to help with the fight. A scream came from your left, out from across the mall, El and Billy were in the misted of fighting. Eleven's nose bleeding, and a sweaty Billy they fought through it.
You on the other hand, had an instinct to get something from that closet. A broom, a pole, a bat, a stick, maybe even a high powered lawnmower and just shred the creature to death. All that you could get your hands on was a mop. You held it tight in your sweaty palms, deciding if this was really what you were about to do. As another scream clouded your head, so did your judgement as you went flailing over the mall. Leaping atop a bench and wacky its sliminess your very ineffective mop. The only thing that you were met with was a hard slap to the face that sent you flying right off the bench...
Some time later...
A far away voice, a bright light and a headache was all you were met with.
"Y/n!" It called again, it was like a dream. You weren't fully sure of anything. But well you fully focused on the voice, it pulled you back with such an urgency to it that your only reaction was an overwhelmed scream.
"Y/n...?" They asked from your right.
"Steve, go get her, she's awake!!" Will's familiar voice stuck out from the rest, as he pushed passed the crowd that stood around your Hospital bed.
"What happened, Y/n?" Mike asked, Dustin being the one to stop him from asking anything more.
"Shut up, Mike."
"Wha-"
"Y/n, how do you feel?" The same familiar voice flooded your vision coming from your right again. Finally looking in that direction you saw her, Nancy.
"Did we kick ass?" Nancy smirked, and the whole group started to smile a bit.
"Yeah," She smiled, "we did kick ass."
"Good. How am I?" Her smile faded slightly, as growing footsteps turned into Robin pushing Mike and Lucas beside to get to you.
"What the hell were you thinking?" She whispered and gave me a big hug, letting a breath go.
"I remember, I wasn't. Thinking, I mean." My own smile shows through as she pulls away.
"You better start thinking next time, Y/n." Nancy examined the bruises on your neck and face.
"I'm alive aren't I, Nance?"
"Barely."
"I can breath just fine."
"Yeah, after Steve did CPR-" She bit her lip, "Twice."
You thought it for a moment, you weren't breathing. You. Weren't. Breathing.
"But you'll be out of here in no time." Robin pulled you out of your horrid thoughts and into the positive side.
Giving a smile and a nod, "Yeah," your quiet response made everyone kinda sad. But Max and Eleven were sitting outside, both under this bit weight on their shoulders after that fight. They didn't want to see you till you were better. The same thought came to you, you would see them in time. Right now was just not the time. Thankfully you had your two big sisters to watch out for you, until your parents came to your rescue.
"Thanks, guys, for saving my life and all." All giving different nods and 'Of course's' ending off with a 'Your welcome' from Steve.
Can't fight this feeling IV
Jim Hopper x Wheeler!reader
Synopsis: A reader insert where the reader is Mike’s oldest sister, who has already graduated and works at the police station. She has always been infatuated with Hopper, and he seems to be quite taken with her as well. This part takes place in season 1 episode 5
Word count: 4.2k+
Warnings: swearing probably. Talk of funerals and dead bodies. A character learns how to shoot a gun, in probably too much depth. My bad writing/different writing styles from different times I added to the chapter. Age gap relationship. And eventual Stranger Things canon gore.
A/n: It has been a very long two years since my last update. I was honestly so uninspired because the show wasn't on and I wasn't getting any new content. Besides that, I was busy with school and life, as well as not knowing how to end this chapter. But here it is. Let me know if you no longer want to be tagged in this, or if you're new and want to be added to the taglist. I'm already a few paragraphs into part 5.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Tumblr media
After a restless night, I barely slept a wink because I was too busy thinking about the Byers’ and Hop, my alarm goes off informing me that it’s time to get ready for the funeral. Will’s funeral. A part of me keeps thinking that he’s not actually dead, especially since Mike seems more anxious than upset as he fidgets at the breakfast table.
I put on my black dress and heels in a blur, not even registering that I’m going through the motions until I’m standing fully dressed in front of my mirror. Mike comes in a few minutes later and asks me for help with his tie; dad was choking him and he says it still doesn’t look right. Very few words are exchanged throughout the family this morning, everyone is just going through the motions.
The funeral is a bit better, I have to help Jonathan with his tie too. I stand behind his seat, hand resting on his shoulder as the Priest speaks, and I glare at Lonnie as he tries to act sad that Will is ‘dead.’ Mike, Dustin, and Lucas are whispering amongst themselves, further fueling my theory that they know something about Will that they aren’t telling me.
As the service continues I start to glance around the crowd in hopes to find Hop, we didn’t part on good terms last night but he said he’d be here. As much as I hate to admit it, especially if all of this is fake and Will is still alive somewhere, I need Hop. I need him by my side, intertwined pinkies, or wrapped up in his side as he speaks soothing words, even if he doesn’t believe what he's saying and just reiterating the fake reassurances that my mom has told me a thousand times already.
He’s still not here by the end of the service, making me extremely anxious that something did in fact go wrong last night. The nerves in the pit of my stomach are wound so tight that I feel like I’m going to vomit. After the line of people telling the Byers’ the cookie cutter ‘I’m sorry’s,’ and the ‘if there’s anything I can do’s,’ I walk over to Joyce and Jonathan to see if they’ve talked to Hop at all.
“Have you guys seen Hop?” I ask Jonathan and Joyce quietly, trying my hardest to ignore Lonnie.
“Hopper is a no good drunk, you’d do better without him in this town,” the man I was attempting to avoid rolls his eyes at me.
“Oh fuck off Lonnie!” everyone still at the gravesite turns to look at me with shocked expressions, except Jonathan who’s trying not to laugh. “Go back to your cheap whore.”
“(Y/N) (Y/M/N) Wheeler!” mom says sharply from behind me, Mike is audibly laughing.
“We were all thinking it!” I defend, crossing my arms over my chest.
“Someones got a crush on Jim, huh?” he gives me a sickening, sleazy, smile that I just want to slap right off his face. “I thought my son would have found some courage and asked you out by now, no other reason to keep you around.”
“Hopper is my boss, I work with him at the station,” I’m seething. Who does this man think he is talking to me like that? “Jim Hopper is a surprisingly thoughtful boss who is good at his job, and someone I respect very much. And, for your information, Jonathan and I are best friends. Neither of us has ever felt anything more for the other. And Lonnie, we both know that whenever you get whatever it is that you want, you’ll be tearing out of Hawkins with no regard for Joyce or Jonathan, so quit acting holier than thou and just leave.”
I swiftly turn on my heel and head to the car, thankful that I drove seperate from my parents this morning; I took my mother’s car and the other five took my father’s. My heart is pounding, I can hear the blood pulsating in my ears as I start to drive away from Lonnie, from a possibly fake body, and away from Jonathan without properly talking to him. I can always go see the latter later tonight and talk with him then. I’m racing down the streets of Hawkins like a bat out of Hell, finally coming to the edge of town where Hop’s trailer is located.
Pulling up to his trailer I’m shocked to see him outside looking around in circles, the barrel of his gun pointed towards the sky. He looks like hell; messed up hair like he just rolled out of bed, his cream colored henley has sweat stains around the collar, in his armpits, and down the back. He has a crazed look in his eyes, he looks traumatized.
I jump out of the car with no regard for my well-being, he isn’t right in the head at the moment and he could very well shoot me thinking I’m the bad guy. Lonnie’s words are still fresh in my mind; maybe Hopper went to bed drunk and high on too many of his pills. No! Snap out of it, he’s not like that. He hears my footfalls crunching on the gravel; he whips around pointing his gun at me.
My hands immediately go up in the air in surrender, I need to be careful about my next actions. My eyes widen as he keeps the gun up longer than I thought he would. All of a sudden he seems to snap out of it realizing it’s me and not some threat. He looks at me guilty as he lowers the weapon.
“(Y/N)?” he asks, his eyes and voice telling me that he’s unsure that I’m actually real.
“Yeah, it’s me,” I try to soothe him like I would a wild animal. My voice is soft and I slowly step closer to him, hands outstretched and palms facing towards him so he knows I won’t attack. “You weren’t at the funeral, I came to make sure you were okay.”
“I missed the funeral?” he asks, still confused and disoriented. I slowly, gently, reach forward and take the gun from his hand. He doesn’t protest, pushing the weapon into my palm once he realizes what I’m doing.
“Yeah you did,” I take a careful step back, heels sinking into the dirt under my feet. “I was worried because of where you went after you dropped me off last night. I was scared you were hurt, or worse…” I trail off at the end, not wanting to admit out loud that deep down I was worried that Hop got killed last night.
My words seem to remind him of why he was outside with a gun in the first place, he takes off running back inside without a word. I follow him in confusion, he’s tearing apart the living room as I walk through the door.
“Hopper, what are you doing?” I ask in horror, Lonnie's words run through my head yet again. Is it possible that Hop was on a bender before he went to sleep and he was still drunk when he woke up?
Instead of responding verbally, Hop takes two long strides across the entire living room area to get to me, putting his hand over my mouth so I can’t talk again. He puts the index finger from his free hand to his lips as a sign for me to stay quiet, before pointing around the room. I frown as he leaves his hand on my face for a few seconds too long.
I watch as he finally pulls back, observing him tearing apart the cushions for his couch and pulling his phone apart piece by piece. I glance around the room, noticing the spilled pills on his coffee table. Frowning, I set Hop’s gun on the table and put his pills back in the bottle as well as tidy up the empty beer cans strewn on it.
Hop rushes to the bathroom as I start to tidy up the mess he created in the living room. I can hear him taking apart the light fixtures in there and my worry for his sanity starts to grow. I sigh and sink down onto the ground, the living room is a mess and I don’t have the heart nor the energy to continue cleaning. First we bury Will, or whatever that was, and now Hop’s losing it, how can this day get any worse? I bury my head in my hands as I hear him rush from room to room, tearing them all apart.
Hop comes back into the living room like a hurricane, tearing apart anything he missed the first time around. I let out a squeak as he throws a light bulb to the ground, it smashes into a million pieces less than a foot away from me. I don’t want to make it worse and get in the way; but I also don’t want him to hurt himself as he destroys his home.
The last thing untouched in his entire house is the ceiling light in his living room. His shoulders are tense as he unscrews the bolt to take off the glass covering the bulbs. My eyes widen in shock as he pulls down a listening device, or more commonly known as a bug. What the hell did Hop get himself into last night? Hop grits his teeth in an angry sneer before grabbing a book he threw from his room, and smashing the bug repeatedly until there was no way it was still functional.
“Hop?” I finally dare to ask, raising from the floor carefully avoiding the broken lightbulb. “What happened last night?”
“I went back to the morgue,” Hop runs his fingers through his hair, pulling briefly on the ends. “I-I cut into the body, and it wasn’t real. It was stuffed just like a teddy bear, or some shit.”
“Oh my god,” I murmur under my breath, not expecting to get a response from the man in front of me.
“So then I snuck into Hawkins lab, got pretty far too,” he continues with his story like I didn’t interrupt. His eyes keep darting around the room like he’s expecting something to hop out at him. “I found a room with a stuffed animal and a kid’s drawing on the wall. The basement- the basement had weird white things floating in the air, there were vines growing out of a glowing hole in the wall. I was surrounded by men in white hazmat suits, next thing I know I’m waking up on the couch; my pills are spilled on the table with lots of empty beer cans that I didn’t drink.”
“Will’s still out there, probably in that glowy viney thing,” I cover my mouth, suppressing a sob. I’m not sure what’s worse; Will being dead, or him still being out there and being held somewhere in Hawkins lab. “We’ve gotta save him Hop, and I’m not letting you do anything by yourself again. I’m not having you die on my watch, not when I can be there to help you.”
Hop is opening his mouth to protest you helping him, you can tell by the scrunch of his face he’s not thrilled with your idea, but tires on the dirt path outside stop him. He yanks me away from the window, grabbing his gun off the coffee table, he pushes me behind him and away from danger. Two pairs of footsteps clomp down on the stairs leading to the front door, and Hop rips the door open before the people can knock.
“Hello? Whoa! - Hey!” Callahan exclaims when Hop steps out of his trailer, gun in hand.
“Jesus, Chief,” Powell looks at Hopper warily. “You all right?”
“What are you doing here?” Hop’s body is positioned just so that someone would have to be looking intently into the trailer to notice me behind his back.
“We tried calling but,” Powell’s voice trails off at the end.
“Yeah, phones dead,” Hops voice is gruff and his answer clipped. I can tell he wants the two idiots on his front porch to leave, so he can continue to talk to me about what happened and where to go from here.
“Whoa, (Y/N), what are you doing here?” a shiver crawls up my spine as Callahan gives me a once over. Hop subconsciously- or consciously, I’m not quite sure which- moves in front of me completely to block Callahan’s pervy gaze.
“Hop wasn’t at Will’s funeral, so I came by to check on him,” I push Hop out of the way and step beside him on the small porch, shutting the front door behind me. It would look a lot worse, and far more suggestive, if Hop was hiding me from view. This way it looks like we aren’t hiding anything- hiding me being there- well, except hiding the torn apart living room from the two doofuses.
Both Callahan and Powell give me disbelieving looks, Powell more so because he saw the way I was with the librarian who slept with Hop the other day, but neither of them voice their opinions on the matter. Instead Callahan starts telling Hop why they showed up in the first place, two more people in town are missing. The naive men in front of us think that everyone’s on edge because of Will’s death, but Hop and I are both thinking that it has to do with whatever is happening at the lab.
“You go back to the station,” Hop tells the men to go back to the station once he finds out that the men went hunting near Mirkwood. My heart stuttered a bit hearing Hop himself call it that, it makes me wonder if I’m rubbing off on him, or just the boys and this case. “(Y/N) and I will look into this.”
“Are you sure?” Callahan looks awkwardly between Hop and me. I assume he’s unsure if he wants to leave me alone with Hop, especially with how wild and out of it the Chief looks to an outsider.
“Yeah, leave it,” Hop insists, pushing me slightly as a way of telling me to open the door.
“Oh, hey. Uh, they found Barbara’s car,” Callahan continues before I can open the door.
“What?” Hop and I ask at the same time, blood draining from my face.
“Barbara Holland’s car, seems she ran away after all,” Powell adds, finishing the revelation for his partner. “Staties found it late last night at a bus station.”
“Funny, right?” Callahan adds, almost seeming to catch on that something is majorly off. “They keep doing our job for us.”
“Funny, right,” Hop and I say at the same time, this time he’s more forceful with shoving me towards the door. I quickly open it and he guides me inside, slamming the door shut behind him, putting distance between us and the prying eyes of our dense coworkers.
Once the door shuts I start to clean up the living room again, sighing at the knife made rips in the apoulster of his couch, too long for me to even consider sewing back up for him. I know he was freaking out, but there’s literally a zipper right there in the back, he could have used that instead of stabbing them. While I sweep up the broken light bulbs and try to salvage anything he threw across the room earlier, Hop focuses on fixing his phone, even going as far as to duct tape the mouthpiece back together.
Once the living room is clean, or as clean as I can get it at this particular moment, I head to the bathroom to clean that up too. I avoid his bedroom though, I know how private and personal someone’s bedroom is, that’s why I threaten Nancy and Mike anytime they go snooping through mine. By the time I’m finished in the bathroom Hop has the phone fixed and is using it to call someone. Normally I wouldn’t snoop, he deserves his privacy, but my feet feel frozen in place when I hear a woman’s voice coming from the other side of the line.
“I know, I know, I know I shouldn’t be calling you,” Hopper sighs into the phone, playing with the bracelet he made from Sara’s hair ties. “I just wanted to...I just wanted to say that, um...even after everything that happened, I don’t...I don’t regret any of it. And those seven years, they were...everything to me.”
My heart breaks at his words, and it continues to break for him when his ex wife asks if he’s been drinking again. I didn’t know my heart could ache for him anymore than it already did, not until I see Hop’s body tense when he hears a baby start crying from the other end. She’s moved on and he hasn’t. She gets a second chance at that happily ever after bullshit, and Hopper is the Chief of Police in a small town that seems to be overtaken by some crazy powerful and dangerous outside enemy that isn’t afraid to kill anyone in it’s way.
“You know what, actually, I have been drinking, I’m sorry,” I frown as he starts to shut her out, it’s like I can see the walls he’s built over the years start to be reinforced. “Just take care of yourself, okay? Say hi to Bill for me.” Hop slams the receiver down, hanging up on his ex wife before she can respond, setting the phone on the coffee table in front of him.
“Hop,” I sigh, holding my dress in place as I slide down the dividing wall between his kitchen and living room next to him.
 As soon as my butt touches the ground his phone starts to ring, I glance between him and the aforementioned phone wondering if he’ll pick it up. He doesn’t, he makes no move to answer it, just letting it ring. He does, however, slide his left hand across the floor and close to my right one. Hops left pinky lifts off the ground, hooks around my right one, our hands resting on the floor with our pinky’s tightly entwined. We sit like that for what feels like a long while, at least twenty or thirty minutes. I start to wonder how many times Hop’s ex wife would have called had he not ripped the phone from the wall after the second unanswered one.
“How ‘bout I teach you to shoot,” Hop turns to me, I can’t quite read the emotion in his blue eyes, but it’s almost like they're pleading with me to say yes. I nod back and he stands, pulling me from my seated position.
“Should I take my heels off?” I glance down at by black pumps while Hop digs the empty beer cans, the ones the people from Hawkins lab left strewn about his coffee table, out of the trash.
“Yeah, you’ll need good balance,” Hop heads for the door, beer cans cradled in his left arm, grabbing his firearm off the coffee table with his right hand as he passes it.
I take off my heels as I start to head towards the door, tossing them carelessly behind me in the general direction of the ruined couch. Rushing in front of Hopper, now barefoot, I open the door for him so he doesn’t have to worry about shifting the beer cans around and possibly dropping any. I follow him out the door, towards the back of his trailer and the pond behind it. Hop drops the beer cans on the grass, grabbing one and setting it on a stump of wood, the gashes on the top of the wood lead me to believe that he uses this stump to chop wood.
Hop hands me his police issued handgun, stepping behind me once I take it. Instinctually I wrap both of my hands around the handle, my dominant hand resting slightly higher, trigger finger on the side of the barrel. I have this much knowledge of holding a gun from observing Hop, for far too long, any time he has his weapon drawn. Hop gently kicks my right foot out so my feet are shoulder width apart, I move my dominant foot forward a tad, raising my arms in front of me.
“‘Kay, now use the little bump out on the top as a guide,” his hands rest on my shoulders, before sliding down slightly to help me aim. “Line it up with the beer can and pull the trigger.”
I take a deep breath, anchoring myself to the ground for the blowback, pointer finger moving to the trigger and pulling it. I didn’t anchor myself well enough, falling back into Hop’s chest slightly. I’m too embarrassed from this new position to hear the sound of metal ripping through tin.
“You did great kid,” Hop whispers into my ear, sending an involuntary shiver up my spine, a shiver I can’t hide from him since we’re still pressed together. Hop slides his hands from my upper arms to my forearms, pushing slightly to lower the gun towards the ground.
“Oh my god! I did it!” I screech louder than intended when I look up to the empty stump. The can is behind the wood, a bullet embedded in the center of the logo, I hit the target on my first try!
I set the gun on the ground, turning, and jumping into Hop’s arms. My arms are tightly wrap around his neck, and his easily slide around my waist. He holds me close for longer than necessary, but not nearly long enough for my liking: every touch from Hopper is like an itch that can’t be scratched, every time I think I’ll be satisfied but it always leaves me wanting more.
Once Hop unwraps himself from my hold, he moves to put another beer can on the stump. This time he stays off to the side, I’m left wondering if the hug is the cause of the new position or if Hop just wants me to try alone. We go through ten more empty beer cans, I hit every single one on the first try. Hop also teaches me how to load the clip and the gun, as well as unclip it and put the safety on.
After Hop finishes teaching me how to protect myself, he grabs my heels when he goes inside to grab one of his coats and hat, and I grab his police department jacket from my car to wear. After grabbing the aforementioned things we get into his truck to warn Joyce that her house may be bugged too, and to let her n\know that Will is probably alive somewhere lost and confused.. Hop keeps glancing my way the entire car ride, and I just nervously play with the hem of my dress. I really don’t want to see Lonnie again, and I especially don’t want him to see Hop. If Lonnie says one bad thing to Hopper in front of me, I may just deck him.
Once we pull up to Joyce’s house, Hop finds an old takeout menu in his car and grabs the pen sticking out of my jacket pocket to write a note telling Joyce to be quiet. Hop finally opens his door and I practically sprint out of my side of the car, having forgone putting on my shoes, and up to the Byers front porch. I’m pounding on the door before Hop has closed his own car door.
“Go away Lonnie!” I hear Joyce yell from inside the house. I wonder if Joyce has kicked Lonnie to the curb again, finally, as I continue to aggressively pound on the door. Hop joins me on the front porch just as Joyce rips the front door open. “Seriously? I am going to murder-”
Hop and I hold our fingers to our lips to shush an ax wielding Joyce, in Hop’s other hand he’s holding up the old take out menu with the message written on it. Joyce looks confused and a little scared at our random appearance on her doorstep, but she doesn’t fight us when Hop pushes his way into the house.
“Oh Jesus,” Hop grumbles while I let out a quiet ‘shit’ at all of the Christmas lights hanging in the Byers’ house.
Hop and I get to quickly unscrew every christmas light, thank God he’s being a lot more calm about it here than at his own place. After what feels like hours Hop unscrews the last light bulb only to find that there were no bugs planted in the Byers’ house. The two of us let out a large sigh as we plop down right next to each other on Joyce’s couch. Hop’s knee rubbing up against mine is all I can think about as he explains what happened to him the night before. I do start to tune back into the conversation when Hop tells Joyce that she was right all along.
I don’t think I have ever seen Joyce more happy than she is at this moment, at least two people believe her and now there’s undeniable proof, at least to the three of us, that Will is still alive. Joyce pulls me up from the couch and into a bone crushing hug, the hope and joy she's radiating is infectious.
Picture Perfect (Prompt)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or whatever title you choose. It's a fanfiction writing prompt.
18+ Minors DNI
Y/N Hopper convinces Eddie to let you put his hair into a bun and put eyeliner on him, hanging out in your apartment in Hawkins. You befriended the other young adult after the Upside Down closed for good, Vecna dead, and Eddie came back after being possessed by a 500 year old vampire. You were blown away by how hot he looked though and you both end up throwing caution to the wind. Once you got him naked in your bed you just had to take a picture. . . which he let you do. His hair surrounded him like a halo, his leg crossing over his other leg, and he looked off to the distance. He even let you take a picture of his scars. You two decided to keep your sexual relationship secret until you figured out what you meant to each other. Eddie wanted the photos developed for you though and unfortunately that meant asking a favor from your brother Jonathan on getting them developed. You lock them away until your nosy sister and her nosy boyfriend finds them. In your anger, your feelings are revealed.
