#meanwhile anakin is like yeah he made me believe in my

Note
This is one of my favorite snippets from foolproof, I love the h/c and I can so easily picture anakin being frantic for obi-wan to be okay, I would love some commentary if you have any - “Obi-Wan, Obi-Wan,” the man says, and that isn’t right. The man never knew his name. “Obi-Wan, shh, you’re here, I’m here. We’re at the Temple, sweetling. You’re safe. I’m here.” A mechno hand presses Obi-Wan’s head to a firm and sweaty chest, and Obi-Wan is breathing in the scent before he can stop himself.
(from this dvd commentary ask game three months ago im sorry, but basically people sent me passages from my fics for me to give commentary on like what i wanted the passage to do, what the moment means for the fic, what's going on in the characters' heads, why i wrote it, etc etc)
this is from the third chapter of foolproof, foolhardy, "work in a casual touch": what a great choice for a passage because I really love how this chapter ends with obi-wan trying very hard to make anakin see him as a man and not the youngling he once was or just a friend of his padawan’s, only for him to suffer through a pretty serious flashback—it’s something that comes up again and again in this fic, for master Skywalker and padawan Kenobi. They’re very much intertwined through their past and they can’t just ignore it or not address it. It keeps coming back up.
and I think in this case, with this flashback, it’s a trauma that binds them together. Obi-Wan almost died on Zygerria and Anakin saved him - Anakin killed many many people to save him, probably tossed the entire mission plan out the window the second he found out obi-wan was in trouble, has a lot of dark emotions and blood on his hands from this moment in particular….but in the aftermath of it, when they’re flying back to the Temple, obi-wan seeks anakin out for comfort.
obi-wan seeking anakin out and feeling safe around him is such a big thing for anakin, from the time they first met to every time after. Over and over again, obi-wan takes comfort in anakin when anakin assumes he is too dark and too frightening for anyone to find comfort in.
But with Obi-Wan, in this scene specifically, because of all of their thorny past, anakin doesn’t question if he can help a triggered and hurting obi-wan. He just puts him against his chest and tells him he’s here and nothing bad is going to happen to him because Anakin is with him and Anakin would never allow anything bad to happen to obi-wan. He’s saying both “you’re here at the temple so you’re safe” AND “you’re safe because I’m here.”

Tumblr media
hi!! so i got a lot of skywalkers apart au asks last night and rather than obliterate everyones dashes with like 5 posts, just doin it all in one!!!! and i made a banner so this post looks cuter
Tumblr media
YEAH he rlly does!!
its a little awkward when they reunite -- don't get me wrong, SUPER loving and everyone's trying so hard to make it work and like it-- mostly does work? but there's a lot of growing pains lol especially given Luke's only been raised by his very civilised mum, so suddenly having a dad that's 6'2 of bug-eating chaos is a bit of whiplash loll. but they all love each other very much and the twins are old enough to mostly understand their parents' decision
luke's rlly going thru it tho loll he's got that family going on while he's also dealing with going from senator's son to recently-liberated-force-sensitive-rebel-fugitive
Tumblr media
LMAO i mean i assume they don't BLAST (in a lot of cases you don't want to let the enemy know you've got an ace up your sleeve lol) but you can bet there's been a couple times where they've found their least secure comm to say it over lolll. then again if you see a blue lightsaber absolutely whipping everyone's shit on the battlefield you can just guess, who needs an announcement <3
BUT LMAO I LOVE THAT Anakin gets back and Leia's like I CANT BELIEVE THAT ACTUALLY WORKED??? meanwhile Obi Wan and Ahsoka are like ohhh that tactic. classic. and Leia's even more shocked that he's made this work MORE THAN ONCE??
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@mayordomogoliat loll i mean. he was a jedi fugitive!! he can't predict when the empire'll spot him!! sometimes that's during grocery shopping when he's got his baby daughter (who's weirdly gleeful in the fight??) strapped to him!
oooo SICK LINE
LMAOOO YEAH "if i could avoid falling, so could you. do better" hes not angry hes just disappointed
YES ABSOLUTELY i mean obvs i've drawn Kanan fangirling but so many other younger jedi would be so happy to see him omg also COOLEST PERSON TO BE SAVED BY!! tbh anakin not falling definitely leads to more jedi survivors (as in ppl not the game) partly bc palps doesn't have that immediate killing machine
loll anakin's absolutely spending any downtime he doesn't spend with leia working on ships etc. probably gets annoying sometimes bc "Hey mr jedi can u do this mission" "no look i worked out a way to make this ship respond .3 seconds quicker i NEED to finish this first" local jedi forgets he's a useful jedi and thinks he's just a mechanic
Tumblr media
yes absolutely. like canon threepio's absolutely ???? all the time bc nobody tells him what's going on and
Tumblr media
@british-sarcasm YEAH!!!! palps is so pissed off he didn't turn anakin bc that means he's alive and rebelling and MY GOD is he annoying for everyone involved.
and omg YES good for them. if they ever ran into each other/ did a mission together they'd make everyone there regret ever signing up for the empire

Never Forget You [Chapter 4]
A/N: hey y’all. just wanna say sorry for the posting schedule change. life is about to get hella hectic with school and the move sooo yeah. every second Saturday I will be posting! it’ll defiantly give me a chance to write more as well so im not rushing out chapters. anyways ive rambled long enough, enjoy :)
Warnings: angst. theres fluff too but its fluffy angst?? im not sorry hehe. long italic paragraphs = flashbacks.
Tumblr media
From an outside perspective, one would assume the four of them were deep in thought, perhaps even communicating telepathically via the Force. They would only be half correct, as all of the Jedi were indeed thinking, but none of their trains of thought overlapped.
Anakin and Ahoska were in the pilot seats, glancing at each other every other minute or so. They could feel the tension build thicker with every passing planet. The only sound filling the room was the faint running of the engine that kept the ship moving.
You and Obi-Wan sat across from each other, neither one daring to make eye contact. Apparently, he was quite serious about the “not speaking from now on” agreement. It’s for the best, you kept telling yourself. However, the awkward silence that filled the ship made it harder to believe that.
Out of all the things that could happen to you at the moment, this was by far the worst.
On Gyfil, you had grown quite used to the sound of silence. In fact, over time you began to prefer it as opposed to the buzz of the towns. However, this was a different type of silence, one that had you bouncing your knee in anticipation for Anakin to announce you finally landed.
Master Yoda had called you all for a mission briefing. There was a supposed Separatist group meeting on Ostor, given the intel you received from a client on your previous mission. The four of you were sent to listen in on it.
“Young Skywalker and Padawan Tano, back up you will be. Great risks on Ostor, there are. Careful, you must be.” He turned to Obi-Wan and You. “Master Y/l/n, guide them you must do. In charge of the mission, I am putting you.”
A sense of pride filled your body but you quickly humbled yourself. “Thank you Master.”
Master Yoda smiled and turned to Obi-Wan. “Infiltrate the meeting, you and Master Y/l/n will. Stay together, you must.”
Obi-Wan would have laughed at the irony. Mentally he still is. Stay together, you must. After the last conversation between the two of you, he had doubts about how that plan would go. However, for the sake of the mission he was willing to lift the deal made.
You stood quietly, not being able to handle the loud silence any longer. “I’ll be in my quarters until we land,” you announced, making a point not to look at Obi-Wan and keep all attention to Anakin and Ahsoka.
You left without sparing a glance back.
He waited until you were out of view to let out a long sigh, running a hand over his beard and hunching forward.
Anakin was the first to speak. “That was the worst thing I’ve ever had to endure.” His shoulders shook as he made a disgusted sound. “Glad it’s finally over.”
“Just focus on getting us there in one piece, Anakin,” Obi-Wan snapped, immediately followed by, “apologizes, I didn’t mean to sound so...aggressive.”
“So much for being able to hide stress, huh?”
He smiled but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Some things are harder to deal with than others.”
“Is Master Y/l/n ‘some things’?” Ahoska asked innocently.
Obi-Wan pondered for a minute, deciding the best way to answer. “Master Y/l/n is...many things.”
“Like what?”
Gorgeous. Strong. Kind. Perfect in every way. “They are highly skilled, almost as well as I am, if not better. A fine Jedi and a valuable member to the Order.” He stopped there before he’d say something he’d come to regret. Best to keep professional thoughts.
“I still don’t understand why the Council sent them away like that. Surely there were other Jedi that could have completed the mission,” Anakin commented. He knew his former Master wasn’t satisfied with the answer they were all given but would never admit it. He had to push him to find the truth.
“Whatever reasons Master Yoda and Master Windu had for picking Y/n are between them. You must stop questioning the Council’s intentions, Anakin. It will land you in very big trouble one day.” Obi-Wan says as if he hasn’t second guessed the Order as a whole before. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. The less you question things, the easier life is.
“That’s why I keep you around, old man,” Anakin said in a teasing manner. Hearing Obi-Wan let out a light chuckle made him feel a bit better as they settled into silence once more, this time more comfortable and light-hearted.
A bit more time had passed before Ahsoka spoke up. “Why don’t you ask Master Y/l/n what really happened?”
Obi-Wan sighed. He should have known better than to believe she would drop the topic. Like Master, like Padawan. “It’s none of my business. Frankly, it’s none of ours so I suggest we leave the subject alone.”
His answer, apparently, wasn’t good enough. “I’m gonna go ask them.” Ahsoka stands up to leave but is stopped mid-movement by Obi-Wan’s protests.
“No!” He looked at Ahsoka’s slightly stunned face, and chose to ignore Anakin’s smug look. “Fine, I’ll ask them. But only once, and if they don’t want to indulge me then that is the end of it. Do I make myself clear?”
“Crystal.”
Meanwhile, you sat alone on the bed in your chosen quarters. It made you feel relaxed, in a way. Before leaving, you were extremely extraverted, always going out of your way to make acquaintances with everyone around you. The life forces around you at night kept you alive, it gave a sense of warmth and comfort to lull you to slumber. On Gyfil, there was none of that. You had to rely on your own warmth to comfort yourself to sleep. No lush trees or animals to provide even the smallest bit of connection. It was just You and the Force. Sleeping for the first time in the Jedi Temple after returning felt like a sensory overload. Everything was loud, and rough. You could feel it coursing through your veins at the speed of light. No matter what you did, it was too much.
You didn’t sleep the first few days. Eventually you got used to the noise, but not enough to get a decent amount of rest at night. There was one sound that sometimes made it impossible to sleep, one Force signature that kept trying to break through the walls you put up to protect yourself when you’re most vulnerable. What scared you the most was the fact your own signature subconsciously fought back against the walls you put. You refused to acknowledge it, choosing to fall into a deep meditative slumber and stay alert as opposed to any actual sleep. Whoever it was would not get into your head so easily.
Knock knock. Obi-Wan stepped into the room once his presence was made known, gently shutting the door behind him. “Y/n…”
You looked up and squinted at him. “I thought we agreed to not speak?”
“Yes, well, that proves to be a bit tricky now doesn’t it?” He smiled tightly and crossed his arms over his chest.
You huffed out air in a sorry attempt at a sarcastic laugh, shaking your head a little. “What do you want, Obi-Wan?”
It was neither hostile nor endearing. It was simply his first name. To him you sounded tired, and judging by the way you sat on the cot, leaning back against the cold metal wall with your eyes half opened, he presumed his assumption was correct. He spoke gently, “Anakin estimates we should be coming out of hyperspace and landing soon.”
“I figured.” It wasn’t your intention to be stoic but that's how you’ve been training yourself to speak to the man in front of you. The faster the conversation ends, the faster he leaves.
Obi-Wan, however, was not having it. “How are you feeling? I know it hasn’t been that long since you returned from your previous assignment.”
You shrugged, staring up at the ceiling. “I’m fine.”
“No one who says that is ever truly ‘fine’ Y/n/n,” he says, taking a step closer to the bed. “I know you. What’s on your mind, darling?”
You slowly met his gaze, debating whether to open up or keep yourself closed off. On one hand, the idea of exposing your anxieties to someone didn’t feel right to you, letting someone know about your weaknesses and insecurities. However, you knew in order for the mission to succeed you would have to be willing to work with Obi-Wan and to do that a sense of trust had to be built. Rebuilt, technically.
“If you wish not to speak, I understand.” He hesitated turning his back to you, “excuse me.” He was about to make his leave before you interrupted.
“Obi-Wan, wait,” You sighed, shifting so there was room for him to sit on the bed. “Sit.”
He did as he was told, eyeing you carefully. “Honestly, I don’t mean to pry.”
“It’s fine.” You knew his intentions and as pure as they were you cannot bring yourself to tell him the truth. “I admit that I...am slightly concerned about the mission.”
It wasn’t the answer Obi-Wan was hoping for, but he was willing to hear anything he could get out of you. “You have nothing to be worried about Y/n/n. You’re an extremely capable Jedi and I have no doubt in my mind you will lead us through it.”
You smiled, only slightly but a smile nonetheless. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” He smiled back.
Your eyes locked tight with each other, and everything around you became emptiness. A void surrounded you both and the presence of the other was all that could be felt.
“Staring competitions are pointless.” You rolled your eyes, sitting up straight and attempting to return your meditative state.
“No they aren’t!: Obi-Wan argued from his spot across from you.
“All you do is stare at each other until someone blinks. Waste of time.”
“Nuh uh. Master Qui-Gon told me that--” Obi-Wan stood up, “--‘The eyes are a window to the soul’--” you laughed at the bad attempt he made to mimic his Master;s voice, “--therefore staring competitions can be a very good battle tactic.”
“Jedi don’t do battles, remember? We’re peacekeepers.” You looked up at your friend. “Besides, you just want an excuse to get lost in my eyes.”
Obi-Wan grinned. “You know me so well.”
So much has changed about the man in front of you, you could hardly recognize him. You never allowed yourself the pleasure to examine what you missed out on. One moment he was a young man who looked like he could take on the universe, and now all you could see was one tired man doing his best. Oh, how the mighty have fallen, is what the old You would have teased. But post-living-ten-years-by-yourself You was different. In a way, you understood. Although you didn’t fight any life-threatening battles and put yourself in the line of fire every week, you have worked tirelessly towards the same goal.
Peace.
Like this moment.
For once, it was quiet. You felt yourself relax slowly, focusing on the one noise that soothed your anxious mind. It felt warm and...close. Something you haven’t felt in a long, long time.
Obi-Wan leaned closer, his heart reacting faster than his brain. He felt a warmth he had been longing for over a decade. When he reached out, he no longer felt desolate. He wanted to hold on to the feeling and never let go.
But alas in time of war, small moments of peace only last for so long.
“Hey! We’re here.”

Funny facts about Clones
I felt down so I asked my friend to give me a person to write a funny fact about. Here is what I came up with:
Bly: They made some tests on Bly as a fetus. Now his heart is on the wrong side of his body and when he gets shot at - right through where his heart sould be - he just sits down and says: "Can a medic please check on my liver?, I think it broke, or something."
Bonus: meanwhile in the background:
Aayla: fuck, get a medic, get a medic, Bly's going to die!!
random trooper: Don't worry, ma'm, he doesn't drink that much anyway.
Aayla: what?
Fox: does not understand a single word shyriiwook (the language of the Wookies). There is one time an ambassador of the Wookies shows up at the senate and Fox is so utterly terrified by all the.. uh... fur that he just says "Yes, my lord, of course my lord" and "Just as you say, My lord" out of sheer panic.
Jesse: What are you doing there?
Kix: I'm reading?
Jesse: You don't even have a book there
Kix: Who said I'm reading a book? Maybe I'm reading your mind?
Jesse: quietly and politely disappears with a creeped out face so Kix can sleep in peace sitting at his medical office desk
Rex: has cut off the foot loops of all of his blacks because he once had a bug in them and is afraid he will ever have to endure that again
Bonus: he thinks Obi-Wan is a good fighter. And a decent man. Even though Rex thinks Obi-Wan would be a better politician than a general like.... he'd totally be lost without Cody by his side. Cody's the secret General of the 212th, Rex believes in that theory like he believes his own name.
Obi-Wan: is the worst at drawing. Like, he has tried. He really has tried before to draw out a thing or two for Anakin for easier understanding, but that has made the young boy even more confused about wtf is a rishi eel?
Bonus: he will just say that drawing is for droids and I know you understood that reference
Rex: "General Skywalker?"
Anakin: *around cereals* "M-yeah?"
Rex: "Why are you eating your cornflakes with red whine?"
Anakin: "Because I can"
Cody: everytime someone asks him about the origin of his scar he tells a different story, one more terrifying or heroic than the other: "I fought against a Gundark and it nearly took my eye" - "It was a punishment by Lama Su himself for disregarding reg manuals" - "I went pearl diving below Tipoca city and encountered a few horaks (something like sharks)." - "A sith lord slashed their saber through my skull"
But nobody knows the real story.
Jesse: loves soft things. He likes his pillow and butts and Tup’s hair and clones that are not ripped and his mattress and he likes to wrap his blacks into a bundle to hug to his chest when he feels anxious. His friends have mercy most of the time and Tup lets him pet his hair until he feels better.
Wolffe: He's at least as creepy as his reputations tells about him. When he has a headache his voice turns into a deep growl and he glares through squinted eyelids at whatever shiny has been blackmailed by Sinker to make the daily report. Yeah, no, just... avoid him when he has a migraine.
Bonus (Wolffe and his pack): Sometimes, when Wolffe feels particularly soft or desperately needs a break from paperwork he goes to the wolffpack barracks and sits down with them and listens.
Sometimes when he feels the sweet kiss of victory he claps them on the shoulder and praises them and sits down with them and drinks.
Sometimes, when they lose a good man he carves the fallen ones' name into the surface of his working desk.
[In a world where the war ends in favor of the republic this desk becomes a relic for the war, it is one of the introducing exhibits in the Clone Wars museum. On it's surface, where there is no name yet, lays Wolffes helmet and above it is a holo picture of Wolffe and his Wolffpack. Each of them with a military medal on their chests. They stand proudly, helmets tucked to their hips, but their faces are professional and blank.] (See this post for more Museum AU)

To Love is the Greatest Gift
1. The Return
Tumblr media
pairing: obi wan kenobi x f!reader (past!din djarn x f!reader) characters: f!reader, anakin amidala-skywalker, padmé amidala-skywalker, mentiones of din djarin, obi wan kenobi, others word count: 2.6k+ warnings: angst, fluff, mentions of rent: the musical (death, second chances) uh... I think that’s it? summary: au!it’s never been the right timing for you and obi wan kenobi; maybe this time will be different. a/n: i started working on this story so long ago it’s ridiculous, but I suddenly had a surge of motivation to continue this story after some tragic family news. this was also very much inspired by @martlands and their amazing obi wan stories, made me want to write my own and here it is
all || next
Tumblr media
“You broke up?”
One would think that the immediate reaction to someone asking if you broke up with your significant other would be to cry or begin to ask them what could have possibly gone wrong. But that’s not the reaction you give.
The reaction you give is just a shrug and a strong pop, as you spoon more gelato onto the little spoon his twins love collecting. “Yep.”
“After only three weeks of dating?” Anakin doesn’t know why he’s surprised, but he is. This is probably the shortest living relationship you’ve ever had. “Why?”
“Why not?” you answer easily, nonchalantly and you know it frustrates him. “It wasn’t working out, so we decided to call it quits.”
Not even a month ago, you had been genuinely excited about finally getting out there and meeting someone new, and even more excited when you were telling him all about this person you met while out with some old friends. You had said, word for word, “he might be the perfect contender!”
Where did all that excitement go?
You sigh, finally looking up at him and away from your white chocolate gelato that's just to die for. “Ani, it’s fine. It just didn’t work out. It happens.”
He grimaces. “What happened between you and Din—“
You bristle at the mention of your ex, narrowing your eyes and his widen in defense. You know what Anakin and Padmé think of him and it’s not entirely pleasant (particularly from Anakin’s part). It’s completely unfair. Din is lovely, sure a little socially awkward, but lovely nonetheless. “Has nothing to do with why Gar and I ended things.”
“But—“
“Nothing,” you reiterate with a bit more force and he sighs, lifting his hands in defeat while holding his own cup of gelato.
“Okay. Okay, I’m sorry.” And then, like a light switching, he turns playful. “Was it his name that turned you off—Gar?”
You resist the urge to groan and roll your eyes. “Oh maker, you are annoying!”
You huff as you make the trek back to the trolley that’ll take you both up to the observatory. The rest of your conversation is forgotten as he navigates it towards continuing to tease you and the latest exhibit you had helped set up.
The Coruscant Observatory is one of the most popular attractions in the city aside from the Exotic Animal Sanctuary (where most zoologist work to help rehabilitate wild animals before reintroducing them back into the wild, only housing the ones that have been assessed to not be able to function in the wild on their own—which are unfortunately many).
Your place of work is known for its large, ground telescope; its monthly constellation exhibits; the multiple planetarium theater rooms that house lectures, activities, star projections, etc.; and its Astronomer Q&A program where visitors can ask astronomers questions and even get a tour of the space station.
However, most of your days are spent in your office, planning for the next exhibit or actually executing them with your team; meanwhile, Anakin spends them in tech, sometimes maintaining the telescope, other times helping with IT issues, but mostly making sure the theater rooms worked perfectly for their 4D immersion.
(You like to joke that out of the two of you, he has it easiest; sometimes he’ll run by your office to get to another part of the building while you’re doing something and you’ll yell out, “slacker” and he’ll respond with, “you just work too much”.)
“Are Padmé and the twins stopping by today?”
“Not today, maybe tomorrow,” he says as you both step out of the trolley along with a few tourists. “I think today they decided to stay for some school thing.”
“Shouldn’t you know what that school thing is?” you chide him out of jest.
He scowls, there’s hardly any heat in it and it makes you grin. “It’s a music performance that the CN Theater is putting on.”
“Ah, and we all know how much musicals bores you.”
“I just don’t understand them,” he murmurs defensively as you climb the few steps leading to the entrance. The two of you smiling and greeting Rex at his security post and bypassing the ticket gate with your IDs.
“You mean you don’t have any taste,” you tease.
“It’s weird! I mean, most of them are all about tragedies and betrayals. What happened to the good ol’ romance and happy endings?”
“Not all of them are tragedies, Casanova.”
The main rotunda lobby is full of people milling about, looking at maps or the foucault pendulum in the middle of the room. Low chatter fills the room, shoes clicking and clacking against the marble flooring.
“Name one.”
Spotting the trash can and recycle bin, Anakin holds his hand out for your disposable cup and spoon and throws them away in their proper bin.
“Rent.” There are probably better examples, but you had been listening to the original cast album the night before and have all the songs still stuck in your head.
“Don’t two characters die?”
“Angel and Mimi.” You nod. “But Mimi is brought back to life by Angel, and is given a second chance at life.”
“She may have been brought back to life, but that doesn’t take away from the fact she died.”
“I’m not arguing with you on that, I’m just saying the ending was hopeful—not necessarily a happy ending, but it left you thinking—maybe things can get better.”
“And that’s not what I’m looking for. I’m looking for—“
“What you and Padmé have?” you ask him as you both reach the door of your office.
He pauses, mouth opening and closing before finally rubbing the back of his head sheepishly and saying, “Yeah.”
You smile, genuine and happy for your childhood friend. Who would’ve thought that years ago when you introduced them, they’d be here years later—married and with twins. You and Anakin sure as hell didn’t. For most of your childhood, you both believed you’d live out your life on Tatooine, hang with the same friends you’ve known since your pre-kinder days and eventually get married to each other—much to the dismay of your parents—because of benefits or whatever, until your parents decided they wanted to send you off to a private school in one of the major cities, derailing your and Anakin’s plan (for the better, if you’re being honest).
“You’re still coming over for dinner, right?”
“Yeah,” you answer, unlocking your office door with your key. “I have a meeting that might go over the expected time, but I should be able to make it on time.”
“Just let us know,” he says, rapping his knuckles against the door frame. “But you better be there! We have some planning to do!”
You roll your eyes and wave him away, promising he and his family will definitely see you at five. With a hearty chuckle he salutes you and leaves the door slightly ajar, just like you usually do. It’s your “you can come in to ask me questions, but knock first, please” visual telling.
With a soft exhale, you drop yourself into your creaking office chair, eyes landing on the first picture on your right—a younger you, only 18, fresh out of your uniform smiling wildly with a large bouquet of flowers that you can still distinctly remember the smell of.
“I am in love!” Padmé exclaimed, squealing in absolute delight at the flowers put in your hand.
Blue eyes crinkled with amusement, staring down at you. “Are you?” His voice was low, teasing and almost smug. He had obviously heard the gasp that escaped your lips when he presented you the colorful bouquet created with your favorite flowers that his father grew in their little garden.
“Irrevocably,” you answered, not able to hide your smile as you gently held it against your chest and smiled up at him. “They’re beautiful, Obi. Thank you.”
Obi Wan’s arm is wrapped around your shoulder, caught in the action of a booming laughter. He was always laughing in pictures. There isn’t a single picture you have of him that he isn't smiling.
Your finger gently trails over his smiling face. Maker, you miss him.
Is he still traveling? Or has he finally settled down again? Will he show up and spring some unexpected news on you again? Stars, you hope not. Shit didn’t go as planned last time and it probably wouldn’t again.
Your hand falls limply and you swivel in your seat, looking out the large glass window overlooking the majority of the city and sigh softly—an exhale of wary hope and sadness.
A bird soars by your window, it’s wings flapping effortlessly, diving before flying higher and away.
He’s not coming back. You know this. Coruscant just isn’t the same anymore. Not when he feels this city has taken everything from him.
One more year visiting Gui Gon without him.
Tumblr media
The meeting runs longer than it usually would, just like you had expected. Checking the time, you let out a curse and quickly throw your belongings into your car.
Without wasting time, as soon as you switch on your engine, you place your phone on the dock and say, “Hey C-3PO, call Padmé.”
“Calling Padmé,” your phone’s AI answers through the speakers of your car.
“Are you outside?” Is how she greets you. There are loud noises in the background, children squabbling about something or another, and Anakin’s weary voice trying to rally them.
You snort, pulling out of the undergroundparking lot. “Not yet, barely got out of my meeting and am on my way.”
“Please hurry, the twins really want to see you and are dying from hunger,” she says, amusement in her voice and not at all trying to hurry you. “They might start eating Anakin soon.”
“Hey, don’t bite that!” He yells from a distance.
“Hurry, please!” you hear over the phone—Luke. “I miss you,” he says, closer now. Which you immediately reply saying you miss him too, almost cutting off the next voice.
“And I’m hungry!” Leia’s voice follows his, practically yelling into the phone.
You laugh fondly, just imagining the childish glee on their faces at your scandalized gasps and your exaggerated “me too” answers.
“Leia, no yelling,” Padmé scolds her, gentle and kind. “Softer, please.”
“Sorry,” she says. “I’m hungry,” she repeats, softer, almost a whisper.
“Give me twenty minutes and I’ll be there,” you promise. “If not, you have my permission to start eating your dad.”
Leia and Luke break into a fit of laughter, yelling something away from the phone to Anakin, who once again lets out a loud, “Hey!”
Padmé chuckles, moving away from the voices of the children tackling their father and their play fighting. “Take your time, we’re not in any hurry to start eating. The kids had a hearty lunch and a snack after school.”
“What about you and Anakin?”
“We’re fine, don’t worry. Just get here safely and we’ll see you soon.”
You end the call with one last reassurance from her and let out a loud sigh when your car comes to a stop behind a long line of glaring red lights—traffic. You hate traffic.
You might be surrounded by blinding lights and different models of vehicles, but it leaves you alone with your thoughts, the low hum of your engine and music from your stereo drowned out by the chattering in your head.
It’s never just one thing that you think about. It can go from one thing to another, to all of them trying to climb over eachother and be the most present: your friends; your family; the dog next door; Din and Baby; cinnamon apple cookies; the beach house in Naboo; sneaking out of the prep dormitories at 2am with Padmé keeping an eye out and Obi Wan holding his arms out for you; rose gardens and peach tea; freckles on blushing skin; drunken singing in a small living room; 21st birthdays crying in a bathroom stall; that stupid movie quote about choosing life; death; but sometimes (most occurring) it’s Obi Wan that weaves into every thought.
He’s a constant plague in your mind, has been since the first time he left Coruscant in search of himself.
Sometimes they’re pleasant thoughts, memories kept in a nostalgic trunk that you occasionally like to sift through. Other times, they’re not so pleasant; those are the ones you constantly struggle with, try to push into the recesses of your mind and keep them under lock and key. But for some stupid, strange reason, your mind only ever remembers the bad, even when there are better things to dwell on.
“I just—I just don’t understand why you have to leave—Obi. Obi!” you practically yelled, watching him move around his room, grabbing and throwing things he pulled out into his duffel bag. “Listen to me!”
He didn’t stop, not until you reached for his duffel bag and plucked it out from his hands. He stared at you, his duffel bag carelessly thrown to the floor with his clothes spilling out.
Your breathing was labored, a sick feeling swimming in your stomach, words stuck in your throat now that he wasn’t hiding his beautiful blue eyes from you—his devastatingly heartbroken eyes. “I have to,” he finally said, breaking the silence. “I need to leave. This house—this city, it's suffocating me. I can’t—I can’t stay here anymore.”
“Obi… Obi, please.” You can’t leave me. You can’t! Please! Please, Obi.
“I need to do this for me, darling. I’m sorry.”
You should’ve fought harder that night, should’ve convinced him to stay, but instead you helped him pack again with tears obstructing your view and sobs escaping your lips. Maybe if you had, you wouldn’t have lost him.
No, your breath stutters as you lean back into your car seat, there was nothing you could’ve done. Either times. He had made up his mind long before that night.
A car honks their horn to your left and you jump, eyes focusing once more on the red lights of the car in front of you. You wipe at your face harshly and straighten your spine.
That was years ago, little one. Shake it off.
Sighing softly, you look up at the street name and make a turn onto the Skywalker residence street, your shoulders relaxing when their two story home comes into view.
Shake it off.
Parking isn't easy to find in their neighborhood, not when it’s so close to the observatory and some of the most visited parks in the area, but you manage to find one just two cars away from their house.
Gathering your things, you lock the door behind you and quickly make your way down the sidewalk, phone in your hand and typing out a message that you’re here.
It’s while you’re hitting send that you don’t notice the body in front of you, staring up at the house with an almost wary expression on his face, or how his eyes widen when they see you. It’s not until you collide into his body, soft with a fleece cardigan, that you notice him. Embarrassment begins to boil in your blood as you quickly apologize to him, berating yourself for not being more aware of your surroundings.
“Kriff, I’m so sorry—“ you start, but the apology catches in your throat when you look up.
“Hello, there.” Blue eyes, so soft and kind, like the ones you once used to dream of stare back at you—so unlike the pair of eyes you saw years ago. “It’s been a long time, darling.”
You can’t shake him off.

hello! i am back <3 today's ramble: thrawn: alliances, the second book in the thrawn trilogy. haven't read ascendancy yet btw. also i'm so so sorry this is so much longer
THE NAVIGATORS. thrawn told vader about the force-sensitive navigators oh stars that's a terrible idea. yeah he was pretty much forced to but stars i can't imagine the ascendancy will be pleased with him giving away one of their most closely guarded secrets to a sith lord
speaking of the navigators. AR'ALANI CAME TO GET THE CHILDREN DOES THAT MEAN ELI WAS WITH HER
was thrawn a navigator? because ... when he was telling vader about them, his body language seems to imply that either he knew someone who was a navigator or was one himself. may be way off here but-
"'As to their gender—' [Thrawn] hunched his shoulders slightly. 'Those with the gift are nearly always female.'"
"'But all with the ability must make [the sacrifice].' For a moment [Thrawn's] eyes seemed to unfocus, as if facing unpleasant thoughts and memories. Then his mind came back."
the thrawn/vader dynamic is AMAZING like vader is always 0.003 seconds away from taking his lightsaber & making thrawn strips meanwhile thrawn keeps asking vader for his trust it's so funny. the anakin/thrawn dynamic too it's just anakin going "who the hell is this person" and following thrawn anyways. the ending where thrawn & vader come to an understanding... and vader agrees to push the defender project ... the melding of the anakin/thrawn & the vader/thrawn dynamic ... TOP TIER i love it
the ozyly-esehembo. in basic: sky-walkers. darth vader, formerly anakin skywalker, navigating the chimaera to the grysk base. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE TIMOTHY ZAHN. also thrawn's reaction when he first heard anakin's name ... it's amazing when you look back at it
CORTOSIS. it's from vision of the future i love seeing nods to legends. also there are subtle call backs to thrawn — the exploding blaster he gave Eli, like the exploding mugs in that cantina on batuu ...
the epilogue where padme is wondering about collateral damage and the impact she & anakin had on the people of mokivj's lives really hits and i like how the impact of the war can be felt, even all the way out there
anyways i'm sorry it's so much longer but i LOVED this book so much it's amazing. timothy zahn always writes good sw books and i'm so glad he was brought in to recanonize thrawn
hello!!! ahhh you finished it already!
i knowww, i can’t believe he told vader about the sky-walkers tbh? 👀
(((maybe eli was with ar’alani on that ship but he most probably didn’t meet with thrawn or he wouldn’t have had such a, uh, strong reaction to him in treason sjgdjshd)))
when if you read the ascendancy books, there’s a bit about why thrawn acted that way talking about the navigators, AND there’s a bit of his point of view of alliances and anakin and it’s really, really entertaining.
LOL i had my own cortosis moment but like. the other way around? because i read the legends novels after the canon novels. 🤭
god i was really devastated about the ending because anakin was so determined that what he was doing was right and neither padme nor thrawn could talk him out of it and UGH i love this idiot boy :(
ahhhh ngl i’m excited to see what you have to say about treason! it made me feel all kinds of pain but i absolutely adore it.

Obi Wan/female reader one shot : Waiting part 1/2
When the reader is sixteen, she starts working as a waitress at Dex’s Diner. On her first day, she meets the love of her life. There’s just one problem. He’s a Jedi...
It had been a hectic first day. But you wouldn’t complain. Dex liked that about you. You just did what you were told. Buckled down, smiled at customers and only messed up one order so far. You just prayed to the Force that your natural clumsiness wouldn’t flare up.
The Force had a sense of humor.
One minute Dex had left the kitchens to chat with an old friend. Ordering a round of milkshakes. After setting the third milkshake on the tray, you carefully brought it out of the kitchen. But no sooner had you stepped out into the main dining room, the door of the kitchen swung forward knocking into your feet.
Your feet tripped over themselves and as your body twisted you gasped, seeing the tray flying, the milkshakes up in the air. But as you braced yourself for impact, you felt a pair of strong arms catch you.
You peeked open one eye. Then both eyes opened as you took in the sparkling blue eyes looking down at you in concern. It was a boy about your age. And he was gorgeous. Chiseled jaw just losing its baby fat. A perfect nose. You noticed two moles. One on his cheek and one on his forehead. Your heart hammered in your chest.
“Are you alright?” He gently asked, his voice a smooth, refined accent of the upper levels of Coruscant.
“Never better...” you gasped catching your breath. But then you noticed his haircut. Auburn hair buzzcut short, except for one single small braid hanging over his shoulder. Brow furrowed, you realized you hadn’t heard the milkshakes crash to the floor. You glanced around to confirm your suspicions. The milkshakes and tray were floating in midair.
And despite the romance the imagery of being dipped over his knee conjured, reality finally crashed in to ruin the moment. Your savior was a Jedi padawan.
“Hey hey! Looks like your Padawan has good reflexes Qui Gon!” Chuckled Dex from the booth.
Across from him, a tall Jedi with long graying brown hair nodded in amusement,
“One should hope so. Alright Obi Wan I think the poor girl can stand on her own feet again.”
The padawan Obi Wan blushed and righted you on your feet,
“Yes Master.”
“And you can stop showing off. It’s an inappropriate use of the Force.” Qui Gon added, a small wink towards Dex who chuckled, his four arms crossed over his shaking belly.
“Sorry Master.” Obi Wan flushed again, waving his hand. The milkshakes righted themselves and floated over to the table. Obi Wan plucked the tray from midair and handed it to you.
“Thank you.” You said, voice shy and small, eyes cast to your feet.
“You’re welcome.” Obi Wan nodded before sliding into the booth next to his Master. You nodded, returning to your other customers. But not without one last glance over your shoulder at the handsome padawan. It just wasn’t fair.
You tried to forget about the Jedi. But blue eyes haunted your dreams at night. Your mind reasonsed with yourself that the Jedi had a code that forbid attachments. But that didn’t stop your foolish heart from pounding in your chest every time Qui Gon and Obi Wan stopped by the diner for lunch.
It was no use. Having a stupid crush on a Jedi was just part of your reality now. Dex noticed of course. He thought it was hilarious. He made you wait on them every time. You were beginning to suspect he made your schedule out to guarantee you would be working when they came in. You didn’t know how. Especially when they started to go away on more missions and wouldn’t be back for weeks at a time. Once for a whole year. Not that you were counting the days or worrying or anything...
The only way you could cope with the crush was self deprecation. Telling yourself that even if he wasn’t a Jedi, Obi Wan wouldn’t give you a second glance. Oh he was polite and asked how you were, making conversation. But everyone else pretty much ignored you. You even had a customer point out one day that you just had one of those faces that just blended in.
You didn’t think you were ugly. But being a little short and your figure being a bit on the plump side you also weren’t kidding yourself. You guessed that was why you longed for Obi Wan like you did. You couldn’t have him anyway, so you might as well dream of the impossible.
But you also wished someone would want you like you wanted Obi Wan.
In a blink of an eye three years had past. And one day Obi Wan came in by himself. That was new.
“Hey! Obi Wan! Where’s Qui Gon?” Dex wiped his hands on his apron. Your heart twisted at the pained look on his face. Noting how red his eyes were.
“Obi Wan?” Dex pressed, suspicion growing with dread.
“He...fell in battle.” Obi Wan swallowed.
Dex shut his yellow eyes.
“Close the door Kid. We’re closing early today.” The grayish tan alien told you, pain evident.
“Sure Dex.” You nodded crossing over to flip the sign. You were the only waitress working today. Even your droid waitress FLO was out for maintenance. You hadn’t even had a customer all day until Obi Wan came in. The sky rumbled with thunder, the rain matching the mood.
“I’ll take my leave then.” Obi Wan nodded.
“No you sit. We’re going to honor my friend.” Dex let out a shuddering breath, entering the kitchen.
“Will he be alright?” Obi Wan asked you. You jumped hearing a roar of rage and pots crash to the floor.
“He will be. Just give him a minute.” You told him.
Obi Wan nodded then took a seat in his usual booth. Keeping to the edge as if Qui Gon was still beside him.
“Are you alright?” You asked, sliding into the booth across from him.
Obi Wan gave a stiff nod,
“Of course. A Jedi must accept death as a part of life. Less he fall to the Dark side.”
You lifted your brows. That sounded rehearsed. As if he were clinging to that mantra like a life preserver.
“Doesn’t mean it doesn’t still hurt.” You pointed out.
“No it doesn’t.” He conceded. You then noticed his padawan braid was gone.
“Were you knighted?” You asked.
He scoffed,
“Yeah. The council felt that anybody that can kill a Sith Lord after a thousand years needs to be a Knight.”
“A Sith Lord?” You asked. Obi Wan began to tell you the story. Of the Trade Federation setting up a blockade on Naboo and how they had tried to kill Qui Gon and Obi Wan when they came to negotiate for the Republic. Saving the Naboo Queen and the detour to Tatooine. The discovery of a boy named Anakin with a high M count, strong in the Force. Wicked political plots and the wicked Sith Darth Maul dueling both Qui Gon and Obi Wan. Qui Gon’s death and Obi Wan killing the Sith. Of Qui Gon making Obi Wan promise to train Anakin.
“So I was knighted and now Anakin is my padawan. I don’t know if I’m ready.” He confesses to you.
“Qui Gon believed you were.” You point out.
“Qui Gon also believed Anakin is the Chosen One.” Obi Wan sighed.
“Chosen One?”
“The one meant to bring balance to the Force. Don’t get me wrong. Qui Gon was an excellent teacher. I’m confident that he’s taught me well. But how can the kid that was once destined for the Argricore teach the Chosen One?” He asked.
Your heart swelled. So your Jedi Knight doubted himself too. Why was that so endearing? Maybe because it made your stubborn heart believed you were connected.
But Obi Wan needed a friend. So a friend you would be. You squeezed his hand on the table.
“With patience. Kindness. Devotion. All the qualities that Qui Gon saw in you.” You said.
He gave a small smile, eyes still sad,
“Thank you.”
Dex interrupted you, already swaying on his feet from the Spotcha he had stored in his office. The Besalisk poured a round of shots and you all toasted to Qui Gon. That night Obi Wan helped you get Dex home, who was in no condition to drive. Then he walked you home after the rain let up.
The next ten years you’d think of that night whenever you had a bad date or another Life Day went by alone. Oh you tried to date. But no one made you feel the way Obi Wan did.
You had one steady boyfriend once. A good man. A mechanic. But then you had blown it when he tried to kiss you. You had sighed Obi Wan’s name. He was kind enough to forgive you. Until he surprised you at the diner one day. He had been patiently waiting for your shift to end. When Obi Wan and Anakin walked in.
“There she is Obi Wan!” The thirteen year old pointed you out. Obi Wan gave a friendly smile. You had waved, biting your lips as you saw how the beard Obi Wan was growing out suited him.
But then you had caught your boyfriend’s eye. He gave you a sad smile. He knew. And the pity in his eyes told you he understood your dilemma. You were in love with a man forbidden to love. And while he had been free to love you, he just couldn’t compete. He had left and you never saw him again. You had heard he married a few years later, and you were glad. Meanwhile you would stop trying to date after that.
Funny enough that same day, after your boyfriend had left, you had approached Obi Wan and Anakin to take their order.
“Was that your boyfriend?” Anakin had asked.
“Anakin...”
“Yes he was.” You nodded, setting out their utensils, not adding that you were no longer an item as of five minutes ago.
“Does he think you’re pretty like Obi Wan does?” Anakin had asked.
You looked at the boy stunned as his Master admonished,
“Anakin!”
You glanced at Obi Wan out of the corner of your eye. He was shielding his eyes with his hand, neck and face flushed red. You couldn’t help but be amused. Anakin was more like a annoying kid brother to Obi Wan than student and teacher. You liked the kid enough, but sometimes his confidence struck you as arrogance. He was improving that attitude under Obi Wan though.
“I suppose he did.” You answered, giving them menus.
“Did?” Anakin caught.
“That’s none of our business Padawan.” Obi Wan softly scolded.
“I’ll give you a minute to decide.” You told them.
But you heard over your shoulder,
“Don’t you think she’s pretty Master?”
“Shut up Anakin...”
That stupid flare of hope ignited in you once again.
As years past and Anakin grew, the conflict between the Republic and the Trade Federation Separtists grew into a full blown war. Anakin was soon knighted and given his own padawan along with a command over a clone trooper squad. Obi wan was made a general with his own squadron. The Jedi visits to the diner were rare.
The war and Obi Wan wasn’t the only thing you had to worry about. You had to take several moonlighting jobs during the war. Once you were hired as a server at a fancy gala for Republic senators.
You rarely visited the Upper levels outside Coco Town. The opulence of the ballroom had left you speechless. Still you did your job. When you heard a familiar voice call your name.
You were sure you were gawking as Obi Wan approached you. He looked so dashing in his armor.
“Obi Wan!”
It wasn’t you that called his name. A tall, beautiful woman with blonde hair and rich robes caught his attention.
“Duchess.” He said. You heard the warmth in his tone. The one that matched his eyes. You turned and disappeared into the background, not seeing Obi Wan try to introduce you only to find you gone.
You didn’t really have time to process how Obi Wan had looked at the Duchess over the next few months. You had to earn a living. You started taking waitressing jobs in Coruscant nightclubs. Which required a lot of skimpy short dresses. No one noticed you anyway. So they never bothered you too much.
Until a familiar voice said over the chatter of crowds and booming music,
“No one told me the view here was so lovely.”
With a blush you turned to see Obi Wan once again in his armor approach you.
“Hello Obi Wan.” You nodded.
“What are you doing here?” He asked.
“Well between the taxes the Chancellor imposed on businesses considered non essential to the war, and the taxes that made my rent go up, a girl has to eat. Even Dex has a second job now.” You shrugged.
“Which explains why I saw you at the gala. I’m sorry I didn’t know you were working. I thought you might have been there as someone’s date.” He said.
You scoffed,
“Yeah right. Who would take a girl from Coco town to one of those Upper level parties?”
“I would be proud to have you on my arm.” He said. You looked up at him at that.
“That’s sweet. But I don’t have time for parties these days.” You told him, trying to excuse yourself.
“Maybe...when the war is over?”
You stopped and looked at him in shock. Did he just? No he thought of you as a friend.
“Well you’ll have to win the war first.” You recovered.
“All the more reason to do so then My Dear. And quickly.” He said, lips tugged up. Ugh. When did he get so charming?
“Obi Wan!” Ashoka waved him over next to Anakin, Senator Amidala and a few troopers.
“I should get back to work.” You said.
“If you get off soon or have a break you’re free to join us.” He said kindly.
“Thanks. But as soon as I get off I have to head home to get a few hours sleep. I have to open Dex’s in the morning.” You told him.
“Then I’ll walk you home.” He nodded.
“You don’t have to.” You shook your head.
“I insist. And don’t you dare try to sneak out on me this time.” He told you.
You gave him a mock salute,
“Yes Sir.”
He chuckled and returned to his friends, as you took a steadying breath. But you couldn’t help but hear the Senator ask,
“Will your friend join us Obi Wan?”
“You mean his girlfriend?” Ahsoka teased.
“Snips!”
Obi Wan sighed,
“Anakin do control your padawan.”
It turned out that it wasn’t just Obi Wan to walk you home. You were also escorted by a few of his men. Men that had chuckled when Obi Wan had kissed your cheek goodnight. Until a bark from their general made them snap to attention.
You watched him leave that night, savoring the kiss lingering on your cheek. A memory you would cling to when a month later you got the awful news. Obi Wan had been murdered.
You had wanted to curl up and cry for days after receiving the news from Ahsoka. Anakin was understandably too upset to even speak since it happened. But Dex had gotten himself kriffing drunk when he heard. Someone had to keep the diner going.
The diner was closed the day of the funeral. You had to go solo. Dex couldn’t bring himself to go to it. You had never been to the Jedi temple before. It was massive and almost otherworldly. You were escorted to a lift. Where the Duchess from the ball joined you. She too had tears in her eyes.
You were left alone in the lift together. When she asked,
“How did you know Obi Wan?”
“I work at the diner he liked to go for lunch. He’s been coming ever since he was a padawan. The owner Dex is...was...a good friend. He couldn’t come today.” You explained.
“Sounds like Obi Wan.” She nodded fondly. “He protected me during the Mandalore Civil War. Him and Qui Gon. Then just Obi Wan for nearly a year. We grew so close...”
She sniffed delicately into a hanky, not noticing how you turned green. Of course a beautiful Duchess would turn his head. You were just a plain waitress from the lower levels. A friend. Every moment you thought had been proof of hidden affection for you was just a product of your imagination. You had tried to push away a good friend because of some stupid crush. A stupid crush that he wouldn’t return because of the woman next to you and the Jedi code. And now he was gone.
The lift opened and you exited into a large open air chamber. Your breath catching seeing the body lying in state under a sheet. You only noticed Anakin seething in rage in front of the body. The look on his face gave you chills. The rest of the service you kept your gaze on Obi Wan’s body until the last moment he was lowered into his tomb that slid closed. The emblem of the Jedi craved into his marker.
Unlike other funerals you had attended, once the service was over the Jedi left. Regular mourners like you, the Duchess and Senator Amidala lingered to give final respects. When it was your turn, you whispered,
“I’ll never stop loving you Obi Wan Kenobi. Even if you never loved me.”
You returned home and back to life. A few days later, it was almost closing when a man entered. He was bald headed, and rough looking. A scar and tattoo on his face. Bounty hunter written all over him.
“Hi. Welcome to Dex’s. The kitchen just closed but if you want caff or pie we have plenty.” You greeted with a courteous smile.
He stood there staring at you. He made you nervous. But not afraid. Odd.
“Sir?”
He shook himself,
“Just caff.”
“Coming up.” You nodded turning to grab the pot. You startled when you found him sitting in Obi Wan’s booth. Sure others had sat there, but the way he sat now, it was just too similar. Too eerie.
Something wrong?” He asked, voice gruff but gentle. There was something familiar about it.
“Nothing. It’s just...have we met?” You asked.
“No. I’d remember a pretty girl like you.” He said hiding his smile behind his cup. He wasn’t that attractive, but you blushed nevertheless.
“Not many people would call me pretty.” You said.
“They’re idiots.”
“Well thanks.” You laughed, ready to leave him alone.
“Why are you sad?” He stopped you.
“Excuse me?”
“Did you lose someone?” He pressed.
You gave a short laugh,
“That obvious huh?”
“Who did you lose?” He asked.
“A friend.”
“Just a friend?”
You furrowed your brow,
“Not that it’s any of your business, but yes. He was just my friend.”
“I meant no offense.” He said as if remembering himself.
“Right...” you nodded wanting to excuse yourself.
“It’s just...I can’t believe a man would just be content to be your friend. I’d imagine...he’d wish things were different. More than once.” He said.
“Maybe. But not with me.” You said.
“Why not?”
“Well at first I thought he was devoted to his calling. A calling I was told didn’t allow for attachments. So I didn’t want to take that away from him. Only later I discovered he had feelings for someone else.” You confessed. Why you were sharing this with a stranger you didn’t know. But it felt good to confess it.
“Maybe he was confused himself. Torn between his calling and his feelings for two different women.” He offered.
“You haven’t seen the other woman.” You scoffed putting down the pot and leaning against the booth.
“Let me guess? Tall? Blonde? Regal?” He prompted.
“Uncanny. You sure we haven’t met?” You asked.
“I’d never forget meeting you.” He said.
It was the twinkle in his eye that had you shaking your head.
“Well. If you had seen them together, there would be no doubt on who he would choose if he wanted to give up his calling. They looked made for each other.” You told him.
“Maybe. But I can see why he’d be drawn to you.”
At your skeptical brow raise he continued, “Your kindness. Your selflessness. Your work ethic.”
“This sounds like a job interview.” You quipped.
“Your eyes. How they light up when you look at him. Your smile would haunt his dreams. Your laugh ringing in his ears. How you treat him like a normal man. Put his happiness ahead of your own. The other woman may have a strength, intelligence and beauty that’s draws him as well, and he does care for her. Deeply. But he can’t imagine a normal life with her. He can with you. It’s tempted him far more than she ever did. All he needed was a word from you.” The stranger went on.
“Who are you?” You asked. He suddenly stood, looking out the window. He exited the booth looking down at you.
“A coward. For not doing this sooner.” He replied. Then he kissed you. Your eyes widened in surprise. Then you melted in his embrace.
Before losing yourself completely, he suddenly bolted into the kitchen. Confused beyond belief, you tried to figure out what just happened. When Anakin stormed in, lightsaber ignited.
“Where is he?” He barked.
“Who?” You asked.
“Rako Hardeen!” He hissed.
“Who?!”
He growled stomping into the kitchen. Ahsoka burst in, out of breath, troopers on her heel.
“What’s going on? Who was that man?” You demanded.
“That’s the man that killed Obi Wan!” She huffed. You collapsed into the booth, feeling sick.
Hours past and you were kept there for questioning. Master Windu had come to question you. If you knew anything about Hardeen. What you talked about. You got the impression that he was trying to see if you were an accomplice. That angered you. It was Master Yoda that stopped him. The wise green Jedi master sensed the truth in you he had said.
“Forgive Master Windu and Young Skywalker you must. Seeking justice they are.” He told you as the Jedi left, a few Clones assigned to take you home.
“It’s not like I asked for a murderer to seek me out. Master Yoda? Why would he kiss me?” You asked, embarrassed. But you had to know.
“Hmm. To get in heads of targets, snipers learn everything about them they do. Saw your friendship with Obi Wan he did. Snipers known to fall for those their target cared about. Happens more than you think.” Yoda assured you.
It made sense. Especially given your odd conversation. Obviously just the man’s misconceptions.
“Hmm. Curious though. Why call himself a coward he did?” He asked. A secret dancing on his little smile as he left you.
To top off the strange day, after the troopers had cleared your apartment, posting a guard outside just in case, you dreamed of the kiss. Only when Hardeen broke the kiss, he had turned into Obi Wan.
You tried to get on with life. Work at the diner during the days, the clubs at night and on your days off. Hardeen was caught and sent to prison. You still dreamed of that kiss.
Months went by. Anakin started to come for lunch. His way of remembering Obi Wan you supposed. Only he only brought Ahsoka half the time. Senator Amidala was often his company. Padme as she insisted you call her. And judging by the looks they gave each other, they weren’t just friends. Which didn’t surprise you. Anakin had always been more willing to break the rules than Obi Wan had.
As much as you enjoyed getting to know them better, you still felt like a third wheel. When Ahsoka and the Clones joined him, you were more inclined to hang out. But seeing them flirting when they thought no one was looking you had to roll your eyes. Did they know how obvious they were?
But one day, you woke up with the realization that you hadn’t dreamt of the kiss. Maybe you were finally moving on. You fixed yourself a full breakfast. Then walked to Dex’s for the afternoon shift. Settling into the routine of taking and filling orders. You were mixing a milkshake when a voice you never thought you’d hear again spoke up.
“Hello there.”
You gasped, dropping the glass. Only it didn’t shatter. You looked and saw it was floating in midair.
“We really must stop meeting like this.” That voice said. You turned. Praying this wasn’t a cruel dream. For there was Obi Wan. His hair was buzzcut short again, his shaven beard growing back in. Smiling gently at you.
“That’s an inappropriate use of the Force.” You reminded him.
“Just say the word and I’ll give it up.” He said.
You blanched,
“What?”
He was interrupted by Dex running from the kitchen,
“Obi Wan! Knew you weren’t dead!”
“Hello Dex.” Obi Wab greeted before being pulled into a tight four armed hug.
The greeting soon turned into a celebration when Anakin, Ahsoka, Padme and the Clones showed up. You were soon given an explanation. Obi Wan had faked his death to go undercover to save the Chancellor from an assassination plot. Taking the identity of Rako Hardeen and even changing his face. Doing the timeline in your head, you realized something.
“That was you that night wasn’t it?” You asked him quietly.
“I’m sorry for deceiving you.” He apologized.
“But why?” You asked.
“I needed to make sure my voice modulator was working correctly. That if a friend who knew me for years couldn’t tell, then I could fool everyone else.” He replied.
Friend. Of course.
“And the kiss? All the things you said?” You asked.
“Well I like to be though.” He quipped, taking a bite of cake.
“I see.”
“You’re angry with me.” He stated.
“Maybe I am. After all Master Kenobi you did manipulate my feelings just to test your dumb disguise.” You clarified.
“Manipulate? I didn’t mean...”
“Next time try Satine. I’m sure she won’t be so easily fooled.” You told him yanking off your apron and stomping out, ignoring Obi Wan calling after you.
It would be almost a year before you saw him again. Anakin said he was focused on ending the war. Not that you asked about him. More than...six times. This time you suspected Dex had changed your schedule so you could avoid the Jedi. Until one night when you showed up for the late shift. Dex was sick again. So you would have to close up. Luckily you didn’t have to work the clubs tonight.
Only when you got there, you saw Obi Wan in his usual booth.
“He’s been sitting there all day. Won’t let me or FLO get him anything.” the other waitress Hermoine told you. You sighed tying on your apron. You still had a job to do.
“What can I get you General?” You had asked.
“That depends.” He replied.
“On?”
“If you’re still mad at me?” He asked.
You laughed softly, folding your arms,
“Believe it or not Obi Wan, regular people don’t hold on to past grievances. We’ve got lives to live.”
“I know. It’s one of the things I admire about you.” He said.
“I’m sorry about Satine.” You offered. You had heard it from the news. The Duchess assassinated. Mandalore under the control of a mysterious crime boss. The fate of the war up in the air.
“Thank you.” He said softly. Eyes sad.
“You were there weren’t you?” You guessed taking a seat.
“I tried to rescue her. I can’t say much, but the man who killed her is an old enemy of mine. He wanted me to suffer. I barely escaped.” Obi Wan told you.
“I’m sure she knew you did your best.” You assured him.
“She told me she loved me. That she always would.” He confessed.
Your heart skipped a beat,
“And what did you tell her?”
“That had she said the word, I’d have left the order.” He said.
“You did love her.” You said. But not me, you thought.
“Remember that year Qui Gon and I went to help during the Mandalore Civil War?” He asked.
“Yes. Satine told me. At your funeral. You spent a year together.” You recalled.
“We did grow close. And if she had asked I would have left the order. If I hadn’t mucked up our one and only kiss.” He explained.
“Mucked up how?”
“I called her by your name.” He confessed.
“What?” You blinked.
“She was furious. I tried to explain but I didn’t know how. I still don’t to be honest.” He said.
Your brain stopped working. You tried to process his words.
“I devoted myself to the Order because it was easier to ignore the fact that I cared for not just one woman but two. So I wouldn’t have to choose. That cost one of you your life. And it’s not fair. To either of you.
I only thank the Maker that no one knows about you. None of my enemies anyway. To be on the safe side a trooper will be working undercover here to protect you. You might have to pretend to be dating him.”
Obi Wan had grumbled this last part.
“Jealous?” You teased him.
“Very. But I promise you once this blasted war is over, I’m not going to keep you waiting anymore. I’ll leave the Order and we’ll figure out what we have. Together.” He stated.
“Are you just saying this because I’m your only choice now?” You asked.
He looked confused,
“What? No...I...”
You stopped him by taking his hand,
“Obi Wan. The Force chose you to have these marvelous gifts. To be used for good. Even before I knew about Satine I never wanted you to give that side of yourself up for me. I love you for who you are. As you are. I’ve dreamed of you wanting me as I’ve wanted you. But because you can’t live without me. Not because you’re scared to lose me. Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s the path to the Dark Side right?”
“Right as always my Darling.” He conceded.

“Old Friends Not Forgotten” Review and Analysis
Spoilers for Star Wars: The Clone Wars S07E09
If you are interested in my reactions while watching the episode click here
If you want to read my rant about the thing that made my cry the most in this episode click here (disclaimer: I was still crying while writing this and that may have clouded my opinion about the scene. In this review I will go into more detail about that)
So then let’s get started! I have calmed down and feel now emotionally ready to actually interpret and analyse the scenes and not just bring across my emotions. But this still is only my personal opinion! So if you disagree that is fine, just please don’t be mean about it.
So the first scene we get is a parallel to the movie (aka the first arc of TCW) which I think is a pretty amazing idea. It shows how Anakin and Obi-Wans relationship has changed and how it has stayed the same. Anakin is as cocky and arrogant as ever. But this time he is not Obi-Wans student anymore. He leads his own men with his own plan and is just coming from his own solo-mission. Yes he wasn’t Obi-Wans Padawan in the movie and Rex was under his command back the too but their dynamic was still different. He still sees Obi-Wan as his former Teacher and as a Jedi Master and part of the counsel he is technically still above Anakin, but they act more on an eye-to-eye dynamic. More like brothers than father and son.
Anakin uses a smiliar trick as Obi-Wan did back in the movie. (I don’t know how the Republic and the Separatists handle that but it is considered a war crime in our world... Since Obi-Wan did it and never got called out for it I guess it is okay in their world...) But of course Anakin puts his own spin on it. That is I think a pretty good way to show how Anakin learned from his master. He did watch and listen but he is not like Obi-Wan. He likes to do things his way. And as long as it works he won’t stop.
Their friendly banter in this scene is also really in tune with the way they act with each other in the beginning of ROTS (especially in the deleted scenes). So it is not hard to believe that this takes place only days before.
Tumblr media
Before Anakin does his own thing Obi-Wan says: “I know better than to try and stop you.” I really liked this line. Not only because it was funny but also because for me it had a bit of an bitter aftertaste. He does not approve of Anakin’s actions (or methods to be exact) but he doesn’t do anything about them. Anakin is an adult and Obi-Wan is done with his education but his former padawan is far away from being a Jedi Master.
Then we have the first moment with Rex. Again a beautiful example of their dynamic. The other clones do what Anakin say (they have to) but they also are a bit annoyed by their general and his plan. Rex on the other had has Anakin’s back, as usual. And he motivates his men to follow Anakin. The trust these two have in each other is just beautiful! Rex trust that Anakin knows what he is doing and Anakin trust that Rex is taking care that everything works. I am pretty sure Rex wasn’t given more than a few instructions haha
Tumblr media
Anakins plan works and he learns nothing except that he was right. Again. I am not gonna go into to much detail about Obi-Wan and Cody but I will say this. As usual they care about and trust each other. Cody is like a friend and not just some clone to Obi-Wan and knowing that makes Cody picking up Obi-Wans lightsaber in a few weeks so logical. Also it makes Order 66 as usual even sadder.
Tumblr media
I can’t help but feel that is episode feels like part of a movie. The opening battle. Very Star Wars. That would also explain the new intro and outro. A very nice ending to the show. Staring with a bad movie, finishing with good one. All in all this episode really played on nostalgia about the TCW Movie and I love it!
Okay back to the episode.
Ahsoka used the name Fulcrum for her transmission. It is a nice callback to Rebels and to the Ahsoka Novel. But with the republic (for example Yularen who becomes a impirial officer) knowing that she uses that name it feels like a bit risky to me to use it in the rebelion as a code name... Maybe I am thinking to much about that but yeah I had to write that thought down. Also Anakin first thinks it is Saw Gerrera, so that means he came up with that name? This just confused me...
Tumblr media
So now I going to try to fangirl not to much about Anakins reaction to Ahsoka, which is hard. But I am going to talk about it because it is very important for his character. I personally don’t remember the last time I saw Anakin this happy. Ahsoka coming back into his life is for him obviously a thing he had wanted and hoped for for a long time. But at the same time he is so surprised that it happened.
The next feeling he goes through is concern. He is just immediately concerned about her and the reason she is contacting him. Perfect Anakin moment. He loves his adoptive daughter and of course he is scared about her wellbeing. He is Anakin! He always scared about the women in his life. So having this poking out under his happiness was a good call.
Obi-Wan on the other hand is just surprised. And Ahsoka herself is very distant. (gonna go into detail about that in a second)
The talk Obi-Wan and Anakin have while walking to Ahsoka’s ship is also very interesting. You can see Anakin trying to find a reason for her leaving. Like it is the will of the force. Meanwhile Obi-Wan has a mixture of quilt and anger. He was partly responsible for Ahsoka being kicked out of the order and therefor also for her not returning. But it also feels like he is mad at her for not retuning. Maybe (that thought had just crossed my mind) he is angry at her for breaking Anakin’s heart. After all Obi-Wan had to piece him together again. (There is an unfinished scene form the original 7th season were they talk about Ahsoka.) And now he feels like she should not be let off the hook just like that.
Or he really just angry that she left the order that he believes in.
Tumblr media
Again we have a nice callback to the movie. I really love those. They feel fitting.
R2D2 is just amazing as usual and greets his masters daughter like a good boy.
Ahsokas face goes through so much in a matter of seconds. She looks at R2: happy. She looks up at her former masters: scared and unsure. She takes a step: confident. That is genius! I especially love that little moment of fear in her eyes. It makes so much sense when you look at her in the rest of the episode! And I personally think that it is Obi-Wan that she is cold towards. I think she has not forgiven him at all for his part in her trial. And she is not at all ready to face him. But she puts on a brave face because she has a mission bigger than her.
Tumblr media
At first when she stopped Anakin I was a bit upset but i get it now. She does not want to have this in front of Obi-Wan and Bo-Katan. Anakin staying behind for a second and putting himself together again is also really fitting I think. He was so excited to see her and she is cold towards him. He either does not see that it is not about him or he feels the tension between her and Obi-Wan.
Tumblr media
Anakin again becomes worried dad when she mentions Oba Diah. And it feels like she would want to tell Anakin but she has Bo-Katan next to her and Obi-Wan in front of her so she doesn’t. She also seems surprised that he still cares so much about her. I think she expected him to be a upset with her and not as open and happy as he is. (Maybe that was why she looked scared in the scene before...)
Tumblr media
“What is one more?” This sentence is big. I mean yes Bo-Katan is not a friend of the Jedi and not a friend of Obi-Wan. But it also kinda shows the overall frustration with the Republic and the Jedi in the galaxy.
Anakin lighting the mood with a joke...that is just pre-Vader Ani at his finest!
Bo-Katan is not wrong in this scene but after everything she had done to sabotage Satine she should really get down form her high horse here!
You can just feel the tension leaving the room when Anakin and Ahsoka are alone. They start to banter and she immediately smiles. These two have still so much love for each other and truly enjoy each others company. But after that there is this small moment of silence. Again perfect moment. It just shows that regardless of that there is baggage here.
Tumblr media
While walking down that corridor Anakin acts like a worried dad again. “It doesn’t matter to them. It is a sign of respect. They know what you went trough for them day after day. Battle after battle.” I choose to believe that he is also talking about him self when saying that. It is his way of telling her that he is proud of her. I don’t think she picks it up but the way he talks about it...that is his opinion of her for sure!
The Helmets...I just love them. I am not going to talk about them much. Their meaning is obvious and this is getting really long. I will also skip Rex for now (don’t worry he will get his paragraphs) same with the lightsabers.
Ahsokas face...she just feels proven right about the Jedi...
Tumblr media
So I am not sure if Anakin’s worry is about Padme or the Chancelor. I mean they talk about the chancelor and he is close to him. But he looks really worried so maybe Padme?
Tumblr media
Ahsokas and Obi-Wan argument. The scene is amazing! I have to say that. It showed their morals pretty perfectly and both are kinda right. Again the tension between them makes sense. It still hurts to watch it.
But also Anakin standing between them awkwardly is kinda fitting with his arc. He is so happy this whole episode that it is hard to see ROTS Ani but I think it still ads up. He knows they are both right. The war has to be won but also Mandalore needs help.
Tumblr media
“Unfortunately Ahsoka is no longer a part of the grand army of the republic.” That one sentence made so mad at Obi-Wan. Yeah, he is technically just saying a fact but his attitude. He is partly responsible for that he takes no blame! Even Ahsokas reaction is just like: Are you kidding me right now? She just looks at him for a second and she looks so disappointed and hurt.
Tumblr media
And Obi-Wan, he continues to look at her after she looked away and I don’t know but I see a bit of regret in eyes.
So apparently Anakin can promote Rex just like that. Don’t know why he never did it before. I mean we all know Rex would deserve it. But better later than never, right?
Interestingly enough the tension between Ahsoka and Obi-Wan is gone so quickly. It is fare away from their friendship in previous seasons but still. There is respect there again.
Tumblr media
Of course Obi-Wan has to make a Kenobi joke before leaving. That really made me forgive him, at least a bit.
“Thanks for the support, as always.” I have not nothing to add to this sentence. Ahsoka’s words nailed the point I want to make about Anakin in this scene.
Okay now on to the lightsabers. Two things. First, he must have had them with him on the whole siege! So that means that Anakin Skywalker kept her lightsabers with him at all time to either remind him of her or just in case she came back to him! Yeah, attachment is problem with this boy...
Tumblr media
Secondly...they are blue. All of Ahsokas lightsabers are green up to this point. So he either got her knew crystals or he played with them so much that the took on his lightsaber color. I don’t know what to say about that.
Ahsoka rolling her eyes at his braging is just wholesome. Nothing more to add there.
Tumblr media
I really love their dynamic when they are alone. It is so pure and happy and loving...
“Good thing I taught you otherwise.” So again a sentence with so much meaning. Filoni just loves throwing these in there, right? Let’s analyse it (bc that is the purpose of the post after all). With this sentence he basically tells her that it is okay to disagree with Obi-Wan and that he is not holding it against her in any way. He himself does it. Especially with the scene from before in mind that is so powerful.
We have heard a multiple of Jedis saying that luck doesn’t exist so Anakin saying that shows he does not care about what the order thinks is right. He has his own right and wrong. For now that is not problematic but we all know who that ends...
And that means he tells her he raised a good person and not necessarily a good Jedi in her. (it is really late, my english is no longer working properly) Hopefully I got my point across.
The way Ahsokas stands in this shot... She is not a little girl anymore. She is a fighter. A warrior.
Tumblr media
“Anakin! Good luck.”
Tumblr media
I really have to take all my strength to stay calm while writing this. I don’t want this to be too emotional.
So. Okay. *takes a deep breath* Ahsokas last words she ever says to Anakin Skywalker. The next time she talks to him he is Vader. Good words. Less than I personally wanted but good words.
After what he told her before it is just so poetic. She wants the best for him. She wants him to be lucky. To succeed. But after what he said it is more. So much more. It is a rejection of the Jedi and an embrace of the light force. And... Damn with everything that is going to happen in ROTS having Ahsoka telling him words that the Jedi reject is just...
Moving on before I lose my mind. We still have Rex to cover.
Anakin and Ahsoka think they will see each other again. They think that they will win and be together again and then they can figure out what to do about everything. About them. About the Jedi. About Obi-Wan.They have no idea what the future has in store for them. And it is perfect. I aligns perfectly with other star wars media. ROTS, Rebels, Ahsoka Novel. They don’t hug. They don’t say goodbye. I hate it but it is perfect.
I love that Rex got promoted but he is gonna be Captain Rex for me forever. Captain or Sir. But he really does deserve his promotion!
Because this is really long already I will not talk about Bo-Katan and the Mandalorians but focus on Ahsoka and the Clones.
We get an amazing banter between Rex and Ahsoka were Ahsoka proves that she is Anakins Padawan after all and that she has Skywalker energy. It is really amazing to see her in her element again. She can use the force whenever she wants and kicks ass! This really was her childhood.
Tumblr media
And then she saves a Clones because that is what Ahsoka Tano does. She knows casualties are a part of war but she saves who she can.
Tumblr media
Rex is so happy to have her back! He smiles and smiles just like Anakin. And just like with Anakin Ahsoka is so relaxed with Rex. They are her home!
I just love the cinematography of her fighting. It really is just watching a Star Wars movie. I can’t wait to watch the whole arc in one go!
Tumblr media
“Beat you.” “Some things never change.” Wholesome. This is just wholesome.
Tumblr media
Okay so that is it for me. I know there is still Maul and Bo-Katan to cover but I will talk about them after next episode!
But I will say this in conclusion: This is episode was stunning! Like everything was beautiful and meaningfull and thought out and detailed! I truly love this episode! I already watched it three times today. And I am so amazed by the animations! The characters facial expressions were on point! I had so much fun analysing them!
I hope that was interesting to read and honestly I am surprised if anyone got this far. Anyway I really loved watching the episode again frame by frame and note my thoughts (this took me 6h btw)

——————————————————————————————
Summary:  When Tup murdered General Tiplar during a battle, Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex dispatched Ahsoka, Fives, and Yara to solve the mystery that was plaguing the Clone Army. Meanwhile, Senator Padme Amidala contacted Commander Fox, Commander Tori, Riyo Chuchi, and Dipper to help her continue investigating the death of Palpatine, suspecting that Dooku was behind the evil plot. But when Dooku send an ISB agent to stop them, the team had to race against time to search for the truth, which could alter the course of the galaxy.
————————————————————————————
Glancing at the fireside, Erina held her roasted grasshopper closer to the flames, hoping it would be fully cooked. With the cold air in her surroundings, she wrapped herself with her own hands, keeping herself warm.
“Are you alright, General Almarez-Guttierez?” Obi-Wan asked, noticing her staring at her food for a while. “You don’t seem to have an appetite.”
“I’m alright, General Kenobi,” she smiled at him. “It’s been a long day and I’m just exhausted, that’s all.”
“If you don’t mind me, I suggest you should get some rest. You’ll feel better the next day.”
“I appreciate your advice, but I think I’ll hit the sack a bit later. Besides, it’s no good sleeping with an empty stomach, anyway. Otherwise, I would end up craving a midnight snack.”
Raul tittered as he indulged in his small meal, before he spilled Erina’s habits. “My partner is rather rigid in her schedule. She must eat something before heading to bed,” he told him. “The last time she did that in college, she ended up eating a bowl of cereal.”
“You know how mama and abuela are,” Erina put her hands on his shoulder. “When it comes to mealtime, I either eat on time or starve to death.”
“Well, that seems harsh, but at least you’re consistent with your meals,” Obi-Wan chuckled as he slurped on his canteen. “For me, I have to convince my Padawan to have dinner every time, and he is quite a challenge to deal with.”
Raul raised his eyebrows. “Wait, General Skywalker was difficult for you to manage? Tell me about it.”
Obi-Wan smiled as he leaned against a tree bark, glancing at the stars in the wine-coloured sky. “It was difficult to train Anakin. He is impatient, brash, hot-headed, and occasionally stubborn. Teaching him something is just, well, to put it nicely, it gives me a headache most of the time.”
“Well, raising a child is never easy,” Erina shook her head. “They can make you stressed most of the time.”
“But it’s not all bad, though. Anakin was also a talented pilot, and he is quite tech-savvy with machines and gadgets, so it’s all good. Besides, I lost count on how many times he had to assist me in new tech and I’m forever grateful for his help.”
“General Skywalker is amazing,” Raul praised him. “I’ve seen him fly in his starships more than once, and it was breathtaking. Personally, flying is extremely difficult for me, but he made it look so easy. It’s like he’s done that for like, a millionth time, you know.”
“Anakin was a champion in the Mos Eisley Podracing when he was 10, and that race alone had won his freedom from slavery. Unfortunately, his mother had to stay behind and he missed her a lot.”
“That’s so sad,” Erina dropped her eyebrows. “I can’t imagine being separated from my familia that young. It must be painful for him to bear.”
“He also blamed himself for his mother’s death later in life,” Obi-Wan spoke with a heavy heart. “Anakin always wanted to see his mother again, but he never thought he would find her dead on Tatooine instead. Even now, he wished he could see her again for one last time.”
Raul wiped the tears from his eyes with his gloved hand, thinking about his family back home. “I miss my mother, too. She raised me all by herself after my father died in an accident. It’s been a while since I’ve visited her, and I can’t imagine the pain she had to go through for not being able to see her son again. I’m sorry, mama.”
“I miss my familia too,” cried Erina. “When I was fighting a war, I always thought I could visit them when it ended. But now, I don’t think I can see them again. I can’t believe I took everything for granted. If I’d known that was the last time I would see them, I would have spent every single minute with them.”
Obi-Wan may not know the feeling of being separated from family, but he understands the pain it brings them. “What do you both miss about your family?”
“I missed mama’s and abuela’s cooking. I also missed my papa making jokes with me, I missed my abuelo’s wonderful story, and I missed teasing all of my sisters. We were quite close, and we always helped each other out, no matter how dire the situation was.”
“I missed mama’s cooking too,” Raul spilled. “Mama and I weren’t really close to our extended family, so Erina’s family would always invite us for family events instead. They invited us for Eid-ul Fitr celebrations, while we invited them for Life Day. We may not be blood-related, but we were always there for each other, good and bad times.”
“Family doesn’t always have to be about blood,” the Jedi Master said, finishing his drink. “Sometimes, a family can comprise a middle-age man, a young adult man, a teenage girl, and two little girls. A family can also comprise a clone commander and a street child. They may not have the same lineage, but the bond between them is unbreakable.”
Erina curled her lips upwards as she gobbled up the whole grasshopper, before leaning her head on Raul’s shoulders. “So the first family you described, was it you and General Skywalker?”
“Yes, it was me, Anakin, Ahsoka, Lira, and Eva,” he gleamed, thinking about the twins. “Anakin was my first apprentice, while Eva was my second and last. She wasn’t as brash as Anakin, but she’s also quite stubborn. She likes to draw, play with her dolls, and read books too. Even though she became a Jedi Knight earlier, we were quite close as well. Anakin would complain about how I pamper Eva too much, but there’s nothing wrong with treating her once in a while.”
“What about Lira? What is she like?” Raul wondered, wrapping his arms around Erina.
“Lira was quite hyper and talkative,” he laughed. “She’s always asking so many questions to her master, but Vanya is always patiently answering every single one she knows. Even if she doesn’t know, she always tries her best to search for the answers with Lira, even if they take days. I don’t train her, but I always make sure she feels included as well.”
“This Vanya, is she your friend?”
“Yeah, we were close,” Obi-Wan nodded, holding back her tears. “We have been best friends since we were kids. She was quiet, but she’s also smart and perceptive. Vanya loved making things out of scraps too, just like Lira.”
“You know, I remember when she made a dollhouse out of a milk carton. There was a living room, a kitchen, a garden, and two bedrooms. I asked Vanya, what was the extra bedroom for? And guess what she told me?”
“What is it?” Erina asked.
“She told me that the extra bedroom was for me,” Obi-Wan sobbed, covering his face with immense guilt. “I wish I could see her again. She was my best friend, and I missed her so much. I can’t believe she’s gone.”
“I’m sorry that your friend is no longer with you,” Raul sympathised with the Jedi Master. “I know it’s heartbreaking losing your best friend, and I’m sad that you had to go through that.”
Obi-Wan could only smile as he looked up at the glowing moon, prompting him to get up. “We should rest now. It’s a long way to Mendes.”
“Goodnight, General Kenobi,” Raul wished him, as he and Erina headed inside their tent and laid closer with each other, sharing the warmth.

Are you an angel? (Padme Amidala x Skywalker!Reader)
Request: Padme x reader where reader is Anakin's sister and is competing with him over her by @boomboomjedi
Words: 2,764
A/N: Reader's older than Anakin, she's the same age as Padme so they kinda get a long slightly better. I hope you like this little thing, was fun to write! Thanks for requesting!
Flashbacks are in italics
Tumblr media
When Obi-wan contacted you you were happy to hear a familiar voice after many years of barely know about him and your brother, you were sure Obi-wan was taking good care of Anakin. You were excited to meet them and catch up with your little brother.
Your orders were to wait in the hangars of Coruscant for your brother and the person you would be transporting but the Jedi Master never told you who was that special person you would be escorting and you wished he at least had warned you it was her.
“Y/N?” Padme said surprised to see you waiting outside the big starship. “Is it truly you, Y/N?” she asked with a big smile.
She looked radiant as ever, hadn’t change much since the last time you saw her a few years ago except for the fact that time had only made her even more beautiful. Her soft smile and tender yet penetrating gaze reminded you of the first time you met in a planet with twin suns.
“Boy, get in here! Now!” Watto yelled and a little Anakin ran in from the junkyard. "What took you so long?" He asked in the language of the Hutt.
"I was cleaning the bin" the young boy said in the same language.
"Never mind! Watch the store. I've got some selling to do here" the blue alien commanded. "And where the hell is your sister? Call her" He said and turned to meet his client, a man who needed some parts for his ship.
With a last warning to the gungan the man followed Watto outside the store to the junkyard, leaving the young woman and the gungan with Anakin who sat on the counter, pretending to clean a part but his gaze was glued to the young woman standing a big uncomfortable in the middle of the room.
"Y/N!" Anakin looked behind the counter.
"Give me a moment!" You yelled from the room in the back of the shop where you were fixing some small motors and parts Watto was unable to, he knew you were good with mechanics. You stood up and took a piece of cloth to clean your oil covered hands as you walked towards the front of the shop.
Meanwhile the young Anakin couldn't stop glancing at the girl and then he finally got the courage to speak to her.
“Are you an angel?” your brother asked surprising the lady.
“What?” she said with a bit of surprise.
You were entering to the room but stopped for a moment to hear your little brother speaking.
“An angel.” he continued “I’ve heard the deep space pilots talk about them. They live on the moons of iego, I think.” Anakin explained “They are the most beautiful creatures in the universe. They are good and kind, and so pretty they make even the most hardened spice pirate cry.”
You chuckled taking the last steps to the counter and you stayed behind it next to your brother to finally look at the young woman he was referring as an angel who was a bit silent, certainly not really knowing what to answer to a child like Ani admiring her beauty.
“Anakin!” you interrupted seeing the lady slightly blushed. Your gaze met hers then, she scanned your face, curious to know who you were. You saw kindness on her eyes and when smiled, Maker, you felt like you were melting. If Anakin wasn’t right about calling her an angel, she was the most beautiful creature you had ever seen. You almost freeze for a moment, stunned by her.
“I’ve never heard of angels” she said smiling at you before she returned her eyes back to Ani.
“You must be one.” Ani said “Maybe you just don’t know it.” he added.
“You’re a funny little boy” the girl chuckled.
“You must forgive my little brother” you told her with a gentle smile “He can be a bit mouthy sometimes” Anakin stared at you furious.
“I see that” she said with a bigger smile.
“He’s not really used to see pretty girls such as yourself” you told her and you saw her slightly chuckling, if your brother could make a move over this girl you were going to show him the proper way to flirt.
Padme blushed for a moment before she shook her head and gave you an intense, daring glance. “Now, who’s being mouthy?”
You went silent for a moment, not only was she beautiful but she had such a brave personality.
You hoped she would have stayed around a bit longer, but a man followed by a droid rushed into the store from the junkyard.
“We’re leaving” the man said and the gungar that was playing around with some small droid followed him. Padme doubted for a moment to follow the man.
“I’m glad I met you…” she said looking kindly at you.
“Y/N” you told her.
“Y/N. I’m Padme” she said with a smile and then she turned to your brother “I’m glad to met you too, little boy”
“My name's Anakin” your brother protested only to making Padme chuckle before she turned to leave the shop. “I’m glad I met you too”
You both watched silently how she left.
“I think she likes me”Anakin said breaking the silence and you couldn’t contain yourself from laughing a little too hard.
“And what you know about girls, Ani?” you mocked “You’re nine”
“Shut up! I know she likes me!” he told you. You laughed messing his hair a little, an action you knew he hated.
“Yeah, whatever. Now go finish your work so we can go home” you told him and he immediately jumped off the counter. Once he was gone you kept staring at the door hoping Padme would come back someday.
“I can't believe it’s actually you, Y/N” Padme said as she greeted you with a warm hug, you smelled her rich perfume and enjoyed her closeness.
“It’s so good to see you, Padme” you told her still keeping her close to you. Then you finally let go of her.
“For all the stars! Look at you, Y/N” she said smiling as her eyes traveled up and down your body. “You certainly inherited your mother’s beauty. I’ve really missed you, Y/N” She looked you in the eyes for a moment, you had forgot how much power this woman had over you, with only one gaze she could make the whole world around you disappear.
Anakin cleared his throat audibly, he wanted to remind you his presence there, just like when he was a little child.
“We better get going now” He said “For Padme’s safety” You finally took a look at your little brother, well he was absolutely not little anymore, he looked rather like a man, tall, strong but he still had the same mischief smirk.
“Good to see you too, Ani” you chuckled and he rolled his eyes.
“Where’s the pilot?” he asked.
“I am the pilot, Anakin” you told him “In fact, I own this ship” there was a bit of surprise on his eyes, admiration too but he decided not to show it too much
“Can that thing even fly?” he said looking with an arched brow at your starship.
"You can bet" you told him and turned to Padme gently offering a hand "Welcome aboard the Medusa, m’lady. Please let me show you around" you told her and she giggled as she took your hand it the same polite and classy way she would have done years before when she was monarch. You leaded her inside the ship leaving Anakin with the luggage and R2 beeping by his side.
*******
“You look more like mom every day” Anakin murmured leaning in the doorway of the cockpit, you watched him for a moment over your shoulder. “Have you seen her?”
“Not in a long time” you told him. “You?” he shook his head.
Pulling some levers the ship went into lightspeed, the you let the control panel to look at your brother. Time had really change him, he looked so professional on his Jedi robes. He analyzed the cockpit for a moment.
“So this is yours?” He said smiling “It’s nice”
“Thanks, I worked a lot to buy it” you told him as you got up pushing some buttons around the place. You stood in front of him before you smiled.
"What you're thinking about?" You asked, his gaze was focused on the distance but met yours to answer.
"Her" he murmured "I just can't stop thinking about her and she didn't even recognize me when she saw me"
"Well, you have changed quite a bit, little brother" you chuckled.
"But she remembered you immediately when she saw you" he said "and it's not fair. I have spent all this years thinking on her, dreaming about her… "
"Longing to see her again, to meet her intense stare and soft smile. To hear her firm voice when she speaks serious matters but warm when she's talking about her people" you murmured unconsciously, it was your heart speaking. "Time had only seem to make her more gorgeous" you said and only then you noticed that your brother was suddenly silent and when you turned to face him he had that mischievous grin.
"So you do like her, Y/N" he grinned. “I thought that for a time but I never thought it was truth”
"No!" You rushed to said feeling your face blushing. "We're just good friends" you lied.
"Good" he smiled "Then I guess it won’t bother you if I make a move" he teased.
"You're becoming a Jedi, Anakin. Love is forbidden isn't it?" He was going to answer you but you cut him off "Good thing I'm not a Jedi." You mocked "Now if you excuse me” you told him already walking out the cockpit “The Senator may be feeling lonely, I’m going to make her some company"
“No, I am going to keep her company” Anakin said “It’s my mission to protect her.”
“It’s my mission to escort her and also this is my ship” you told him. “And again, I’m a good friend of hers, we’re close, Ani” you said with a smirk.
"How close?"
"Close" you told him looking over your shoulder satisfied with the effect of your words on him, he seemed absolutely not happy with you. He followed in silence down the hall to the main room of the ship, he was plotting something you could tell, you knew your brother just too well so you were not surprised when he playfully pushed you, just like the old times in Tatooine when you two used to race.
“It’s that how it’s going to be, huh?” you chuckled and pushed back, rushing down the hall laughing. Anakin hurried to pass you, moving you out off his way when he reached you sending you to the closest wall “Seriously?” you said recovering fast from the small hit.
“Somethings never change, I’m still faster than you” he said slowing down for a moment.
“You’re still a cheater, that’s what you are, Anakin” you told him and rushed again but this time down a different hall, you knew the faster way to the main room, it was your ship after all. “I won!” you yelled just when he was arriving.
“No you didn’t!” he chuckled “I let you win, Y/N”
“No, I won”
“No, you didn’t”
“Yes, I did”
“What are you two doing?” a melodious voice asked surprising you, as a reflex both turned your head to find Padme standing in the other side of the room. She had changed clothes and was now in a delightful new dress.
“Nothing” Anakin and you said at unison making a sweet laugh fell from Padme’s lips.
“You’re such children” she told you.
“I can assure you, I’ve grown up” Anakin declared “I’m a gentleman now, Padme”
“A gentleman who slammed his sister to the wall to win a race” Padme said in serious like she used to do in the Senate “Yes, a gentleman indeed, Ani”
You smiled at Padme and she winked at you while Anakin seemed to be rather embarrassed.
“Captain Y/N, can I talk to you a for a moment” she said still in the serious tone and yet smiling playfully at you.
“I’m at your service, Senator” you gave her the same professional tone and a small bow with the head before you followed her leaving Anakin alone and pissed once again.
Padme was the one to start talking once she was sure your brother wasn’t following you.
“I’m really glad to see you, Y/N” she told you kindly “It’s been a long time since the last time I saw you, how many years had passed?” she told you with a smile as you walked through the ship and stopped in front of a big window.
“Eight years” you murmured.
“It’s a lot to catch up then” she chuckled.
“It certainly is” you chuckled too “After Naboo, life was an odyssey. It’s a bit strange to think we will be there in a few hours, had it changed? I mean, Naboo.”
You caught a nostalgic smile curving her lips.
“Not much, not since you left” she told you. “You could have stayed, you know?”
After the battle in Naboo you hoped to get training like your brother, unfortunately the Jedi council stated you were far too old to join them. You seemed lost for a moment not exactly knowing where to go or what to do now but Padme was kind enough to accept you in her court making you a lady in waiting. You learned manners and formalities at the same time Captain Panaka taught you more about piloting and fighting. It was a good life, calm but monotone, the only thing that was keeping you there was Padme. You got the chance to see her every day, to make her laugh while walking through the palace you would have stayed forever just for her but you left.
“I know, I thought about it but… I belong in the stars, you know me Padme” you told her giving her a wink.
“Always glancing at the stars” she gave you a warm smile “I have to confess” Padme said with a bit of sadness on her tone “I was heartbroken when you left, Y/N” she told you sincerely. She thought for a moment before finally speaking again. “Tell me something, please be honest”
“Anything” you told her.
“Would you have stayed if I had asked you?”
You took her hand and sftly guided it to your lips pressing a soft kiss on her knuckles, a simple way to show her your affection you used to do back when you were her lady in waiting.
“Of course” you murmured “You mean the galaxy to me, Padme. I should have told you a long time ago.” you confessed making a soft pink painted her cheeks as the most marvelous smile lighted her face.
Doubting she leaned close to you, her hazel eyes focused on your lips. Taking all the courage in you you closed the distance pressing a short but pleasant kiss on her delicate lips. She smiled briefly before pulling you into a new kiss forgetting for an instant about the world around you, it was a voice what made you two get back to reality.
"Y/N, where are you?" Anakin's voice rumbled through the ship. "You have to land this thing"
Breaking away Padme and you shared an annoyed glance.
"I'm going to kill him" you joked.
"Same boy from the desert" Padme murmured with a small laugh.
You gave her a loving stare as you keep holding her hand. You felt home again having her on your life after all this time.
"I'm going to land if you don't come here, Y/N" your brother yelled.
"Don't touch my ship, Anakin!" You yelled back making Padme laugh.
"And same lovely girl from the desert too" she told you caressing your cheekbone for a moment. "You should go, he's not my favorite pilot" she said.
"He's going to crash my ship" you agreed.
Reluctantly you left Padme's side to go to the cockpit. Looking over your shoulder you gave her a last smile and a complicit look. Once Anakin said that Padme was an angel, as a pilot you had seen those angels, he was wrong, there was no beauty in the galaxy to compare with hers.

some Thoughts on Echo’s motivations for joining the Bad Batch
the key idea here is that echo’s situation must have allowed him to make certain Reflections on his status quo prior to his capture by the separatis
the techno union is are hellscape capitalists who treated him like property. could that have reminded him of anything (ahem the kaminoans perhaps?)
back in season one, wat tambor was taken into republic custody for participating in a separatist invasion of the planet ryloth. for tambor to hold both his freedom and corporate neutrality (as recognized by the republic) by season seven, then the republic must have released him. despite everything tambor has done, they freed him, possibly in exchange for money or arms
seeing how echo can access their database, he most likely knows with whom the techno union is doing business. which, like i said, may very well include the republic
and palpatine himself is doing business with the techno union (if i remember correctly, they did the early death star plans). does he do this under a pseudonym? can echo see this apparent third party player, lurking in the shadows?
echo must have been spectator to so many assaults against his brothers during his use by the separatists as a strategic battle algorithm. was he able to reflect, with what little sentience he was able to keep for himself, over the use of the clones by their superiors?
"yeah, just like old times” echo utters, obviously feeling so much at once. a lot has been said about how cannot go back to those days, not with the trauma he’s endured, not with fives gone. but he might not want to go back
echo might have realized how messed up his (and the clones’) situation was as a servant to the republic
and echo must have learned, if he didn’t suspect it already, that the jedi council did not authorize his rescue
and he must know that it was obi wan who, back at the citadel, gave the order to leave him behind. who left him for dead, who made his brothers leave him for dead. does obi wan cary even half of the guilt this singular decision must have generated in fives or rex or cody? did obi wan apologize to echo for this?
(echo barely looks at obi wan when he presents his plan to the jedi)
can echo really go back to serving under the people who elected to leave him for dead a second time?
as the opening narration states, echo’s future is uncertain. he’s in bad shape, he has major injuries, and he’s a clone. where will he fit now? will the republic think he’s worth the expense keeping around?
in a way, echo’s plan for republic victory at anaxes is as much about getting back at his enemies as it is proving his worth to his superiors
meanwhile, the bad batch logo on echo’s new (temporary) armour suggests they provided him funds or resources. and that despite hunter and tech clearly expressing doubts over echo’s loyalty. as if echo did not need to prove his worth to the bad batch for them to believe him deserving of their help
as for the medal ceremony, it’s so obvious that echo wasn’t feeling it and was about to go out of obligation. something about it feels so out of place. so patronizing. being commended for a service they never had a choice in taking. and the fact that the bad batch outright reject that? that they do things on their own terms? that hunter asked him if it was really his thing, either? that’s when they got him. the bad batch gave him a clear invitation into the group, affirmation that he could join, but its that moment right before, i think, that made him want to
among the bad batch, echo is just another clone who does not fit the mould
the bad batch themselves exist at the borders of the system. in a blind spot. they get so much freedom and autonomy. they get a physical place (their ship, the havoc marauder) to call home. they likely get extended periods just among each other (just among clones)
they do get called in for high risk missions all the time, but they get the luxury of doing things their way. with seamless teamwork. and you can bet the bad batch will make time to learn how to work with echo and for him to regain his strength
like.... echo will be able to heal and grow in such an environment
i try to imagine him in the 501st and i can’t see him anything other than miserable. that’s not a home anymore, not without fives. and rex himself has too much baggage himself to be echo’s sole source of emotional support. he looks at the past through rose tinted glasses, as a better and simpler time. but he’s lying to himself, his situation had never been good, it just hadn’t broken him yet. echo can’t do like rex, telling himself lies to fit a situation he’s outgrown (because he knows those are lies). he can’t bring back the good old days, he can’t bring back fives, and he can’t be rex’s anchor (and i don’t think rex wants to put him in that situation either)
it’s not that rex and echo can’t heal together, but that rex is keeping himself (or rather, being kept in) a situation that prevents him from healing
but like... i think just knowing that echo is alive and well and that he’s in good hands, that’s definitely going to make rex happy (happier than he’s been in a long time)
and you cant convince me that rex and echo wouldn’t write to each other all the time! you can’t!
(rex, knocking on anakin’s door: “obi wan says its my turn on space skype”)

ONE LAST TIME
Tumblr media
(not my gif!)
summary — in which the resistance’s best fights try and recruit one of the galaxy’s deadliest creature resulting in an unwanted reunion.
word count — 2k words
paring(s) — vampire hunter!poe dameron x fem!vampire!reader
warning(s) — blood, violence, and angst
notes — this vampire au is heavily based on the vampire diaries so this is gonna follow a lot of the supernatural lore of the show. and my first fic on this app, be gentle
Being a vampire wasn’t exactly your cup of tea when it first happened. But the longer you were a vampire, the more you got used to it and the more you embraced it. You were turned by Emperor Palptine himself, the first vampire.
You were the granddaughter of a Sith Lord and it was why Palpatine turned you in the first place. You were a member of the Original Bloodline, the first line of vampires.
The Sith vampires became power hungry and started a war that lasted one thousand years, and is still being fought till now. It began with the Empire, led by your grandmother and Anakin Skywalker.
But then, Luke Skywalker destroyed the Empire’s weapon, seemingly ending the war. Until the First Order rose under you and Kylo Ren.
The First Order had allies among the vampire species. They made sure to make allies with the most deadly creatures in the galaxy. Although, the Resistance had an alliance with the werewolves. Meanwhile, the witches were neutral. The playing field was even since a werewolf bite was toxin and dangerous to vampires.
You had left the First Order a while ago. You finally saw the evils the First Order was doing and left. You snuck away in the middle of the night. You were an ally the Resistance wanted.
General Leia Organa sent her best vampire hunter, Poe Dameron, and his two closest friends, Finn and Rey, to find a new ally for the Resistance. They ended up on a planet named Vela, in hopes of finding this new ally.
"Where did Leia say to search?" Rey asked as the trio walked down the street that was suspiciously empty.
"Here," Poe said, leading them to a bar. Poe, Finn, and Rey entered the bar and were met with a bloody dead body. "Gross," Finn said softly.
They turned into the main room of the bar and saw the horror that waited for them. Blood splattered on the walls and floor, bodies were scattered along the bar and there were some dismembered limbs as well.
Poe looked over at the broomstick resting against the wall. Poe snapped a piece of the broomstick off to make a stake. He only knew about one creature that could create this kind of mess.
Rey swallowed down the distaste in her mouth and felt sick to her stomach. "Holy shit," Rey whispered.
There, in the center of it all, was you, feeding on a dead body with her back facing the trio. You released the man's neck with a snarl and the man's head fell onto the ground with a disgusting thud. You turned around with blood-red eyes and grey veins trickling down from your eyes.
Your mouth and chin were covered in blood. "You've got to be kidding me," Poe commented.
Your eyes turned back to normal and she sighed. "You've got to be kidding me." You said. "Haven't seen you around here in a long time," You added.
"Been busy," Poe answered.
"You know her?" Finn asked.
"I dated her." Finn and Rey turned their heads to look at him, "You what?" Rey asked.
"It's a long story," Poe replied. "It was your typical forbidden romance," You interjected, "Vampire," You pointed to yourself, "Vampire hunter." You pointed to Poe.
"And don't forget the fact you're a manipulative bitch," Poe added.
"Ouch," You put her hand over her heart, "Did my betrayal hurt you that much?"
You met Poe when you were still with the First Order. You found out he was a vampire hunter not long after you met and you came clean about being a vampire to him.
You both tried to make it work. You really did. But you came from opposite sides of the war. Kylo found out about your relationship with him and gave you a choice.
You chose the First Order, which broke your heart but you wanted to stay on the First Order’s good side.
"Okay, who is she?" Rey asked softly.
You introduced yourself to them, "And I come from the Original bloodline. And I'm a Ripper." You explained, "You know what that means?"
When you were met with silence, you answered your own question. "It means I literally can't stop feeding until I tear your head off," You explained, your eyes slowly shifting back to red.
Rey and Finn slowly moved behind Poe since he was the only one relaxed in this situation. "I need to talk to her alone," Poe whispered back to his two friends.
"What?" Finn asked, "Did you not hear what she just said? She will kill you."
"She can't kill me even if she wanted to," Poe replied. He looked at you with a small smirk, "Not unless she wants to deal with me for the rest of her life."
"Don't remind me," You rolled her eyes.
"Let's just say I have supernatural immunity. Go wait outside. This won't take long." Poe said. Rey and Finn hesitantly nodded and left the bar. They were glad to get out of the bar though, it smelt ridiculously bad.
"And what exactly are you planning on doing with that?" You asked, looking down at the stake in his hand, "You think you can kill me? I'm two hundred years older than you."
"I can take you."
You laughed softly, shaking her head slightly. "When did you turn it off? Your humanity?" Poe asked. He knew you wouldn't do it unless you didn't care, if you didn't feel.
"Two years ago." You answered, "I just need to get on human blood. Get off of that rabbit diet my uncle put me on and get back to my roots." Poe glanced down at the floor for a quick moment. Two years ago? You broke up two years ago. Poe looked back up at you.
"General Leia thinks you'll make a good ally to the Resistance. I don't know why since you're the same selfish vampire I've always known." There was a time when Poe really believed you could do good. That you weren’t the same as your family that was currently trying to take over the galaxy.
Just like there was a time where you believed you could change. You wanted to change. For him.
Your face fell for a moment. Just a quick moment as you processed his words. Then, your face hardened again and you replied, "Fucking hell, I lie to you once and you won't let me live it down."
"You could've killed me," Poe argued.
"Yeah, well, I didn't. You know that stupid curse got in the way. Believe me, if the curse didn't exist, I would've torn you apart... And you know it." The Hunter's curse was the only thing stopping vampires such as you from killing hunters like Poe.
If a vampire killed a hunter, the spirit of the hunter would torment the vampire relentlessly for the end of time. Or if the vampire drove a stake through their own heart.
You wiped her chin with the back of your hand and sighed softly. "So, why are you here?" You asked, "You miss me?" You smirked.
"No, I don't," Poe replied, "The Resistance needs your help. We're just asking for some assistance. Then, once the war is over, you can go back to murdering people aimlessly."
"I'm not gonna help you. I like my little neutral alliance. It's... strangely peaceful. I get to kill whoever I want without caring if they're on your side of the First Order's side. And it's not like anyone could come after me. I'm a Sith vampire. I have as much supernatural immunity as you." You rambled.
You took a couple of steps closer to Poe and looked down at his neck, hearing his heartbeat.
You looked up into his eyes and licked your lips.
"Yeah... Thing is... I'm not necessarily asking." Poe said softly. Before you could process what he said, Poe grabbed your throat and slammed your back on a tabletop, holding you down by your neck. He brought up his other hand and stabbed the stake in your chest, causing you to yell in pain.
"Two more inches and I pierce your heart," Poe said, twisting the stake slightly in his hand. You groaned in pain. "So what's it gonna be?" Poe asked.
"God, you're hot..." You whispered softly. You put your hand on his wrist causing his hand to tighten ever so slightly around your throat. "When did you get so hot...?" Poe slowly drove the stake further in her chest, you winced in pain.
"Don't flirt with me."
Your eyes flicked down to the stake and back up at Poe. "You wouldn't..." You argued, "If you did, my entire bloodline would come after you."
"Not like they could kill me," Poe retorted.
"You think the curse is gonna stop them?" You asked, wincing in pain again, "You fuck with one of the Originals and the others will kill you. Curse or not. Besides... You care about me too much to kill me."
Poe leaned down and whispered in your ear, "I couldn't care less about you. Gotta be honest, I might even hate you. So, it looks like our little love story ends here."
You tightened your grip on his wrist and twisted it, pulling his hand off of your neck and a loud snap echoed through the bar. Poe shouted in pain, which alerted Rey and Finn outside, and you kicked him off of her. You pulled the stake out of your heart and got off of the table, the wound already healing.
You grabbed his throat, like what he did to you, and stabbed the stake in his gut, expertly missing everything important. "You hate me?" You asked as Poe groaned from the pain, "That sounds like the beginning of a love story, Poe. Not the end of one." You heard the bar doors open and the footsteps of Rey and Finn coming.
You let go of Poe and used her vampire speed to leave the room before Rey and Finn came into the bar. "Poe!" Finn shouted as he and Rey rushed to Poe's side.
"She doesn't want to help," Poe winced.
"We noticed." Rey retorted.
Poe was fine after a long period of rest. You disappeared again, flying under the First Order's and the Resistance's radar. But Poe's seen the messes she left behind, the amount of people you killed made Poe second guess his belief that you could be good.
The war ended after many more months of fighting. The Resistance didn't need your help to win, but you still would've been a powerful enemy against the First Order. A lot of the vampires went into hiding and the galaxy finally felt peace.
Currently, Poe was back on Yavin IV, his home planet, tending to his x-wing with BB-8 beside him. BB-8 let out an alarmed beep, making Poe turn around. Lingering in the shadows was a figure Poe knew all too well.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He asked. You stepped out from the overhead shadow and into the light, "I heard the war's over." Poe looked at BB-8, not saying anything. BB-8 turned and rolled away from you two.
"What do you want?" Poe asked.
"I wanted to see you," You replied. "I've been thinking about—"
"—Save it. I don't want to play your games." Poe interrupted.
"Us," You finished her sentence anyways, "I've been thinking about us."
"There is no more 'us'. Not after everything." Poe pointed at you and took one large stride closer to you, "You did this to us."
"And you're right. I know what I did..." You trailed off. Poe could hear the softness in your voice, something was different from the last time they spoke in that bar. "I just... I'm sorry." You spoke softly.
"You turned your humanity back on, didn't you?" Poe asked.
"And I'm off human blood," You continued, "I stopped killing." Poe knew that statement was true, the killings dropped immensely toward the end of the war. You did stop killing.
"Just... Give me another chance. Don't give up on me... please." You pleaded.
"Tell me you didn't come here with the expectation that I would take you back just because you can feel emotions again." You frowned and glanced down.
"I just wanted to see you," You replied, "One last time..." You whispered.
"What does that mean?" Poe questioned.
"I'm..." You trailed off, stumbling slightly because your knees gave out from under you. Poe quickly threw out his arms and caught you before you could hit the ground.
"What’s going on?" Poe asked.
"Some werewolves jumped me a couple days ago..." You explained softly. You grabbed your jacket sleeve and slowly rolled it up your forearm, exposing the infected bite. Poe stared down at the bite mark, shocked.
"Heh... I'm dying..." You chuckled lightly, smiling weakly. Poe reached down and picked up your legs, carrying you bridal style.
"What're you—"
"—Shh."
Poe carried you back to his house and laid you down on his couch in the living room. Poe crouched down beside you and you shifted, getting comfortable.
"Poe..." You muttered.
"Just relax," Poe replied. Poe gently reached up and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear.
"I know... You hate me," You began softly, "And that's fine. But I..." You gently put your hand on his cheek, "I love you, Poe. I always have."
He mumbled your name, then used his hand to lower yours.
"What I felt was real... And I hope what you felt was real too... I just want to ask you one thing." You continued.
"What is it?" Poe asked softly.
"You know no vampire has survived a werewolf bite. And you know how painful a bite is in its final stages... I just want you to..." You stopped, taking deep breaths.
"You're asking me to kill you?" Poe asked.
"You didn't seem to have a problem with it at the bar..." You replied, "Please... I wouldn't have it any other way." Poe looked down in deep thought.
"There's no way around this. I'm not gonna live..." You laughed slightly, trying to lighten the mood, "This... This is where our love story ends." Despite the weak smile on your face, tears escaped your eyes.
Poe felt tears prick his eyes, "What about your family?"
"I don't even know where they are..." You answered. "Just do this one thing for me..."
Poe remained silent and stood up. "I'll be right back. Try and rest," He said softly. Poe walked away from you, thinking about his options.
He didn't have many. Let you suffer from the werewolf bite or... just put you out of her misery now. There was no cure for a werewolf bite. You were going to die.
Poe entered his room, feeling a heavy weight on his heart. He didn't want to admit it out loud but he did care about her. Deep down. He did.
Poe pulled out a duffle bag from underneath his bed and unzipped it. He reached inside and pulled out a stake. Poe exited his room and headed back toward you.
Poe gently lifted up your upper body and slipped on the couch under you, resting you back on his chest, putting the stake on the coffee table in front of the couch.
"Hey," Poe said softly, "I'm here. Just breathe."
You slowly looked up at him, "I can't believe I'm about to die with the entire galaxy thinking I'm a monster... Including you," You said.
"You're not a monster. I spent a long time blaming you for what happened between us. I'm sorry. You deserve peace." Poe said, his voice shaking slightly. Your gaze fell and she saw the stake sitting on the table
"Look at me," Poe mumbled, grabbing your chin and turning your head back up to him.
"Careful. I might think you actually care about me." You joked, your breaths getting shallower and shallower.
"Maybe I do." Poe replied, keeping his voice quiet and soft. Poe moved his hand to grab the stake from the table. Your eyes followed his movements.
"Hey, look at me," Poe said, seeing you look away. You gazed back up at him, "Just keep your eyes on me, yeah? Just look at me. Nothing else." You nodded again.
Poe brought the tip of the stake to your chest with shaky hands and then felt your hand on his, telling him that it's okay. "Don't forget me, okay?" You asked softly.
"I won't..." Poe answered, "I'll never forget you." Poe said softly, tears building in his eyes.
You nodded, tears falling down your face. You could feel him moving his hand back. "Wait," You whispered, using your hand to stop his hand, "Tell me you love me... Even if it's a lie. Please..."
"I love you." Poe replied with a shaky tone. Those words brought you a strange sense of peace. You finally felt peace. You leaned your head against his chest and closed your eyes. Poe pulled his hand back slightly and then stabbed your heart.
You gasped and Poe finally let the tears fall. Poe rested his chin on top of your head. Poe looked down and watched your body turn a dark grey color. You were desiccating. You were dead.
Poe sighed defeatedly and planted a kiss on top of your head. "I love you." Poe repeated quietly.

A Strange Jedi | [Fem!Reader]
3rd part woohoooo!

"I'm sorry I didn't realize it."
Y/N got flustered, and Adam Driver didn't reply. She silently cursed her cybertech and the translator device. She automatically assumed that Driver was meant as the profession. The names people have here...
"It's alright."
Her shoulders relaxed slightly as soon as the dark-haired man replied. She noticed another human male behind him that held some kind of device. Was that a weapon?
"You said the Sith are gone..."
Y/N's eyes stayed focused on the person behind him when she asked Adam.
"But that isn't true. We're in conflict with them on Mandalore."
The actor - she only vaguely knew what that was - just stared at her for a few seconds. He seemed confused at first, then his expression changed. She watched him with caution, and her hand was close to her hip and her lightsaber, just in case.
"Well, you seem to be a passionate fan. What's your name?"
There it was again. That strange word. Fan. The meaning was still unknown to her. Y/N contemplated if she should tell him a fake name, but then she decided that being honest was probably the best for now. Her hand went back to her side, and she straightened her posture.
"I'm Y/N L/N, a Jedi padawan."
Adam's brows slightly knitted together, and she could feel the confusion radiating from him.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N," he said anyway, and she noticed that he must have good manners.
And then they kind of just stood there, being awkward and everything.
The padawan had many questions, but they were out in the open, and Adam didn't really seem keen on answering either. The fact that he towered over her gave him an intimidating aura even when he said that he wasn't a Sith. Though she didn't quite believe him. Her years with her master showed her enough proof that the Dark Side of the Force could influence people who weren't Sith.
But he seemed like he would stay peaceful for the moment, so she didn't want to pry. It also stopped her from hitting him with questions and inquiries about the Jedi and probably saved her from embarrassing herself.
"Adam, maybe we should continue the route?"
Somebody finally said something to interrupt the weird silence, and Y/N was relieved. Then she remembered that she forgot about R7.
Oh no!
As if he was summoned, an angry droid rolled up to them, he was whistling and beeping, and she just knew that he was fuming.
"Uhhh, sorry, buddy," she apologized while he angrily slapped her thigh with his gripper arm.
The question that was asked seemed forgotten because Adam didn't answer and only stared at the droid next to Y/N.
"This is R7-S9, my droid."
Bee-Woo Beep!
She just rolled her eyes. Your Jedi, yeah, whatever. She patted his metal head and then turned to the other men again. They stared at her, stunned, and she furrowed her brows. R7 rolled forward and made a loop around the actor, who watched the droid with eagle eyes. Y/N observed his reaction with a frown.
"Have you never seen an astromech droid? Do the inhabitants of this planet not use droids for work?"
Adam squinted his eyes, and she knew that he was trying to figure something out. Then he opened his mouth and slowly spoke:
"I'm sorry, padawan, but we have some business we must attend."
Was that sarcasm? His tone was distant, and Y/N tried to figure out if he wanted to get rid of her. The men behind him seemed to sigh in relief, and they already turned around to leave when she stopped them.
"Wait! Are there..." she bit her lips. Would they respond like the man with the kid? "Are there any Jedi here? Is there a Republican outpost where I can contact Coruscant?"
Adam, who had also begun to step away, stiffened.
"Aren't you the Jedi?"
This time his answer was definitely mocking. She could hear the irony in his voice.
"I am! But I need to contact my Master! Please help me, I-"
The desperation in her tone spoke against the code, but she ignored her flaring emotions and tried to reach out for the dark-haired man. He seemed to know something, he was the only lead she had. She couldn't let him go.
One of the men wearing the strange white armor stepped before Adam and held an arm out as if to protect him.
"Miss, that is enough."
She looked up to the guy. The laughing faces she had seen before were gone, and grim expressions remained. They really were guards...
"No, please. I really need to- Adam!"
Her voice grew louder when the actor behind the man walked away.
R7 beeped in confusion, and she nervously thought about knocking the man, who held her back, out, when her droid whistled to get her attention.
Y/N turned her head, and he waved his gripper arm as if to say let Adam go.
She sighed but relaxed slightly and bowed to apologize to the man.
"I'm sorry."
The other watched her with furrowed brows and then turned when he made sure that she wouldn't follow them.
The padawan crouched in front of R7, and the astromech droid beeped excitedly. Her dark expression that had spread when her only lead walked away cleared instantly.
"What? How did you do that?"
Bee-weep be-whoop boop!
"Phone? What is a phone? GPS?"
Y/N only watched while her friend wildly explained to her that he found a way to follow the man. He waved his gripper arm, and he looked slightly crazy while doing it. But she didn't care because the genius bucket seemed to have saved the day!
"So, all we need to do is follow the signal?"
If the droid could nod, he would've definitely done it. Instead, his buttons blinked wildly. The padawan patted his head, and he beeped happily.
"Buddy, you're amazing!"
Apparently, almost every human on this planet used something called a cellphone, which sends a signal. To locate Adam Driver, they would use the personal signal of his phone.
She wanted to continue talking about the plan with her droid, but the people around them seemed to turn their attention to them, and Y/N decided that they must leave the area first.
"Let's go somewhere else, R7", she whispered, and he agreed with a whistle.
She imitated the strolling all the other humans appeared to use and then walked down the path that she believed would lead them to a quiet place in the park.
Her droid followed her, and although people turned their heads to look at them, they soon found a resting area behind some bushes where only a group of 4 people stayed.
Y/N crouched down after making sure that the others weren’t watching her, and R7-S9 wheeled over to her and began to beep to explain his plan further.
-
Two hours passed, and the padawan was sitting on a bench and ate some of her last rations she took with her from the Icarus, while she was waiting for her astromech droid.
R7-S9 had whistled about gaining access to something called the internet and suddenly drove away. Now she was waiting for him to return.
She didn't want to admit it, but without him, she would be totally lost. Of course, she could have followed the man with her abilities, but her concentration wasn't the greatest at the moment. Hiding with the force would be difficult in that state.
Y/N landed on a planet where apparently no Jedi resided, and not only was her ship broken, but the Republic didn't seem to have an outpost here either. How would she leave? Was there even a possibility to return? Did she want to return?
The war between the Republic and the Separatists was destroying lives, and the Jedi tried their best to help. They became commanders, generals, soldiers—something she never expected to become when she started her training. Even less when her master took her in.
Her thoughts got interrupted when her astromech droid returned. R7 was beeping loudly and waving his gripper arm triumphantly.
"Whatcha got there?" she asked and pointed to the thin silver box he was holding.
Bee Whoo-Beep Beep Whoop!
"That's a cellphone? From where did you get...?"
He turned his head and acted innocently. She sighed but didn't scold him; this was for their survival after all. The droid beeped and then jammed his scomp link into the phone, which seemed rather dumb because the port of the phone was way too small for him.
"Don't break it, R7!" she rushed to take the device away from him, but the black screen suddenly flared, and a small white logo appeared. Wow, it actually worked!
"Is that a droid?"
Both she and the astromech droid watched the little green figure on the screen until it disappeared, and some menu showed up.
"What... Enter pin code...?"
R7-S9 whistled and turned his head slightly. 4 dots appeared, and the menu faded away.
Y/N only watched in awe while her genius friend hacked the cellphone in a matter of seconds. The screen lit up, and three faces appeared. 3 girls, all smiling, stared back at them from the small device. The padawan squinted her eyes, but it wasn't any kind of holoprojection. The droid beeped, and she tilted her head.
"A photo? Similar to a hologram but only two dimensional... Hmmm."
While she pondered over the technology of the humans here, R7-S9 hacked an application, and it took only a few minutes until he chirped happily.
The padawan looked up again, and he showed her the screen, a blue dot moved slowly across the phone, and the astromech droid whistled.
The thing they were looking at was a map, and the dot was the actor, Adam Driver.
"And where are we?" she asked R7 and read the names of the places marked on the screen. He whirred, and the map changed, zooming out to reveal another dot. They were quite far apart. Y/N bit her lip. How would they overcome that distance?
Beep Boo-Wheep!
She stood up slowly and turned around to look over the resting area. The other people had already left. Her eyes traveled to the wall behind the bushes. It was as big as the one she jumped over when she entered Disneyland.
"Are your rocket boosters still working?"
R7-S9 beeped, and her face lit up.
"Okay! We got no time to lose!"
She swung her backpack over her shoulder and then faced her astromech droid.
"Ready?"
He whistled excitedly.
-
While the young padawan and her loyal friend tried to find a way to follow Adam Driver, there was an uproar at the other end of the galaxy.
On Coruscant in the heart of the Jedi temple was a meeting being held. The Jedi council discussed the next step for a mission on Mandalore when the automatic door of the room was forced open with a bang.
All council members turned their heads to see a brown-haired woman whose dark amber eyes flashed in anger. She strutted inside the council room and interrupted Mace Windu, who wanted to know why she was coming in during an important meeting.
"I've had enough. Let me go and search for her!"
Although her eyes were clearly full of emotion, her voice was surprisingly monotone, and only her slightly trembling hands showed her agitation.
"Master Ath'nuel, we already discussed this. We cannot afford to give up on you and your abilities during this critical time."
Master Windu's voice was stern, and some of the other council members nodded. The expression on the woman's face changed slightly.
"There are other capable Jedi out there, as a Jedi Shadow I won't ever be on the frontlines so why-"
"We wanted to discuss this with you actually," said Shaak Ti, whose holoprojection slightly flared.
Master Yoda nodded and spoke up:
"You to lead a clone squad and go to Kamino, we want."
Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was one of the members who was physically attending the meeting, observed the Jedi Shadow's reaction closely.
He understood her but also knew that the council was right. The Republic needed a capable Jedi like her in this crucial time.
The fact that he agreed with the High Council didn't mean that he wanted her to give up on the search for her padawan, though. He was an acquaintance of both her and Y/N L/N, and he worried about her too.
After the fiasco on Mandalore, her disappearance wasn't well-received by the councils, the council of First Knowledge voiced their disappointment in the form of sending Master Ath'nuel to meditate for a long time. They wanted her to reflect on her choices as L/N's Master, while the High Council prohibited her from searching for her padawan.
"No."
The eyes of the council members widened. Master Windu furrowed his brows and pointed at her.
"What is your objection?"
Shaak Ti showed a worried expression for her friend. Obi-Wan also felt concerned, and he bit his lip.
"About attachment, we talked, Master Ath'nuel. Our teachings, you must remember."
Yoda sighed, and the woman stiffened. The wheels in her head seemed to turn, and she gritted her teeth.
"I am indeed worried about my padawan, but it's because of her apprenticeship. Together we have found many Sith artifacts, we cleansed places soiled by the Dark Side and got rid of dangerous individuals."
The mention of her duties as a Jedi Shadow caused a shiver to run down Obi-Wan's spine. He knew enough about the Sith and the Dark Side to feel sympathy for her. The Jedi could imagine better ways to spend time. The other council members listened attentively. Kit Fisto smiled slightly when he heard about Ath'nuel's and L/N's feats.
"Before the war started, we have created a map with the help of the Council of First Knowledge. The locations of different artifacts and supporters of the lost Sith Empire are marked in it. Both I and Y/N had to engrave the map into our memory. If that knowledge gets into the wrong hands... I do not dare to imagine the consequences."
The expression of the Council members changed.
"This is indeed a reason to find her padawan," said Ki-Adi-Mundi and faced the other members. Shaak Ti and Plo Koon nodded in agreement, their expression grim.
"Are you suggesting that we send a troop to restrict her?"
The Jedi Shadow furrowed her brows. Her hands went behind her back. Obi-Wan felt the force shift in the room, and he breathed in slowly. Don't get agitated, Sara.
"There is no reason to. Let me lead a troop to find Y/N and bring her back."
Windu crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Am I wrong when I say that Y/N fled from a fight on Mandalore? Shouldn't we think about the possibility of her falling to the dar-"
"She would never!" hissed Master Ath'nuel, and suddenly her emotionless mask fully cracked, and she looked exhausted. Her shoulders slumped, and she brushed through her hair with shaky hands.
Yoda's face softened, and he gave Obi-Wan a look. The man nodded slightly and then turned to the Jedi Shadow.
"Let the council discuss this matter. Could you wait outside?"
When her amber eyes met his blue ones, he smiled slightly, and she returned it weakly.
"Okay."
She turned and walked out of the meeting room.
.
While the High Council discussed their decision, Sara Ath'nuel stood anxiously waiting outside. She paced back and forth deep in her thoughts.
She remembered Windu's words. It was true that Y/N had fled from a battle, but she could guess why. She knew her padawan best, after all. I hope she's alright. Thankfully R7-S9 seemed to be at her side. The astromech droid would watch over her wild padawan.
A hand suddenly weighed on her shoulder, and the Jedi Shadow turned. In a flash, her lightsaber was activated and pointed at the person standing behind her.
"Woah, Sara, calm down. It's me!"
She lowered her dual lightsaber immediately, deactivated it and bowed apologetically.
"I'm sorry, Anakin."
He only smiled. The Jedi was accompanied by his padawan, Ahsoka Tano, who was staring at her curiously.
"What got you so nervous?" he asked, his expression showed concern.
"The council is discussing if I'm allowed to go search for Y/N."
Both of them looked at her, surprised.
"She still hasn't returned?", asked Ahsoka and her worry was clearly audible in her voice. She and Y/N were good friends, although they rarely met because of the different missions of their Masters.
"No. No trace of Y/N or the Icarus. R7-S9 is also missing."
She wrung with her hands, and Anakin observed her carefully. The fact that the usually stoic Jedi Master showed her emotions so obviously was an indicator that she was deeply concerned.
"Did you storm in?" he asked, remembering that Obi-Wan had spoken about a meeting for Mandalore.
Both Anakin and his padawan only watched while she sighed and nodded defeated.
"I lost control for a second."
Her confession struck them, but Ahsoka was truly surprised. She only knew Y/N's Master as a controlled and stoic person.
Anakin patted her shoulder to comfort the Jedi Shadow, and her not avoiding it was definite proof that she was having a hard time at the moment. He wanted to speak up to show his emotional support when the door opened, and Obi-Wan appeared.
"We have come to a decision," he said, and his eyes watched her warmly.
Master Ath'nuel nodded and walked into the meeting room. Obi-Wan noticed his former padawan and Ahsoka.
"Are you here to report?"
Anakin nodded.
"Come in."
They both followed him in but remained in the background while Y/N's Master stood in the middle of the room. Master Yoda folded his hands in his lap and then announced:
"A search group, we will send. Out on Kamino, help you will. And your padawan, we will promise to find."
The Jedi, who knew Sara Ath'nuel well enough, watched her in anticipation, but the Jedi Shadow thankfully controlled her emotions and nodded. Only Anakin and Ahsoka noticed her clenched fists behind her back.
"Yes, Master Yoda. Thank you."
She bowed slightly. Master Windu wanted to dismiss her when she looked up again and requested:
"If I may ask how many people are you going to send?"
The Council members shared a look, and Ki-Adi-Mundi took the initiative:
"We will discuss this later. Master Ti will send you your instructions for Kamino."
The Togruta Jedi Master gave her a slight smile that she returned with a nod.
"Okay, thank you. Then I will excuse myself."
Master Yoda opened his mouth to say something else, but she had already turned, and briskly walked out of the room.
Anakin and Obi-Wan exchanged a glance, and they seemed to communicate silently. Both knew that the Jedi Shadow would never let go of this matter so easily. Not if it concerned her padawan. Obi-Wan's expression seemed to say Let's go look for her later.
-
While her Master walked back to her room and readied a backpack full of necessary supplies, Y/N was about to get killed by R7-S9's reckless driving.
"I told you to slow down, R7!"
Her screeching was ignored by the astromech droid, and he chirped excitedly - or maliciously - while driving the car down the highway.
Before all this madness, they had jumped over the wall that confided them inside of Disneyland and walked towards the parking lot.
R7 said that the best way of transport was going by car but for that they, well, needed to get one first. Few minutes and a jammed keyhole later, the astromech droid had hitched them a ride.
He gave Y/N the phone, and she took it, although not without voicing a complaint about stealing again. If the law on this planet was as strict as on Coruscant...
She ignored her worries and wanted to jump into the seat that seemed to steer the car, but the astromech droid didn't let her.
He beeped in protest and waved his gripper arm.
"What? No. This is not a starfighter, R7. Let me handle this."
She wanted to climb into the car, but he wheeled in front of her and whistled furiously.
"Sssssh! Okay, okay, I get it, but don't be so loud!"
The padawan turned to the other cars, but she could see no other person.
Bee-Whoo-Beep Wii-Boop-Beep!
Y/N nodded, sighing, and he let her pass to move the car seat back so that the droid had enough space to get in.
"Are you sure you don't need those pedals?"
R7 chirped, she nodded and then he used his rocket boosters to get into the gigantic car. According to the astromech droid, it was a Van. When her metal friend finally got in, she closed the door, and he watched her through the window. He blinked his buttons, and she only rolled her eyes.
Y/N moved to the other side and also climbed in. She remembered the seat belt thing inside Jenna's car, and she looked around and found one inside the Van too.
"Okay, let's think this through. We have to be careful and make sure not to draw any attention towa-"
The Van jerked back, and her head bopped.
"R7!" she hissed, and the droid beeped innocently.
The padawan was about to reprimand him when the car moved again in a jerky fashion. The droid maneuvered the Van out of the parking spot and crashed into the cars in the row behind them.
"What did I just say?!"
R7-S9 chirped and turned his scomp link. The car moved forwards and almost hit the neighbor of their parking spot.
"Hey! Hey, you asshole!"
A voice suddenly screamed, and Y/N looked into the mirror hanging from the car's roof. A man came running at them, his face was red, and he was swinging his fists in a fury.
The Jedi padawan held onto her seatbelt and dear life when she shouted:
"Drive, R7! DRIVE!!”

The Rise of Skywalker
Okay so TROS is out in France and I’ve just seen it. And I need to get all those feelings out of my chest.
SO SPOILERS !
Bottom line for those who don’t want to read the whole summary about Kylo/Ben :
- Rey is a Palpatine
- Rey force healing Ben by giving him her life energy
- Leia dies and it makes Ben gives up the dark side.
- Rey VS Palpatine
- Ben Solo comes to help.
- Rey defeats Palpatine but dies.
- Ben Solo gives her his life energy to bring her back to life. That’s the romantic grand gesture they were talking about.
- THEY KISS and immediately after HE DIES and his body DISAPPEARS
- Nothing more is shown and said about Ben, him turning good again or his sacrifice. It’s like only Rey know that and no one will ever learn the truth. Not even Chewie.
Now, onwards for the very long talk :
I hadn’t read the leaks, only the posts on tumblr following them : Rey blowing up the transport ship in which Chewie was in, Kylo Ren / Ben Solo dying and not being talk about again, it’s all true ! Expect that Chewie wasn’t really in the transport ship. He is fine.
More on the rest later but first Ben Solo’s redemption and death + Reylo.
So first off all, Rey goes on the wreck of the Death Star to find an item - a sith wayfinder, only two exist and Kylo has one - that could direct her to Palpatine’s lair, cause yeah, Palpatine is alive and he just lend the First Order a HUGE fleet of Star Destroyers, each equip with a Star Killer canon.
Palpatine is not doing well btw : he is vertically plugged to a machine, his eyes are white, their is missing flesh on his fingers... He hids on a sort of closed temple and has hundreds of Sith cultists (non-fighters) with him.
Kylo finds him and Plapatine tells him he made Snoke and the truth about Rey’s identity (which we don’t hear). He wants Kylo to find Rey and kill her and he will give him the Empire in exchange.
Instead Kylo warns Rey that Palpatine wants her dead and says he doesn’t care about Palpatine’s plans, he just want her to join him on the darkside. He tells her who she is : Palpatine’s grand-daughter. Palpatine had a son who ran away and hid in Jakku with Rey’s mom but the Emperor wanted to get his hand on Rey, presumably to kill her, so they sold Rey and lied about her not being on Jakku anymore before getting killed.
So anyway Rey isn’t taking all that information so well, even less since she had a vision (that we saddly don’t see) of her sitting beside Kylo on the throne of the Siths.
On the deathstar she has a vision of Darth Rey after touching the wayfinder, quite like Luke had of himself on Dagobah. She fights with herself and drops the wayfinder. Kylo picks it up and tells her the only way she will find Palpatine is if she comes with it and he crushed the wayfinder. Rey is seething with anger and fights Kylo very agressively, most of what he does is retreating. They end up outside, on the wreck, above a very agitated sea.
Rey is really close to giving in to her anger and go dark and Kylo finally starts to get the upper hand. And then Leia happens.
Leia who felt their battle, used the last of her strength to connect with his son. She says his name and Kylo feels she is dying. He spaces out and drops his saber. Rey stabs him in the stomach the same moment Leia dies. They both feels it. Rey shuts down her saber, Ben slides down on the floor. Rey cries and looks at Ben, he is staring blankly into space, looking like a lost boy. She kneels beside him and heals him, transferring life energy into him. She tells him he was right, she did wanted to take his hand, Ben’s hand. And she leaves in his ship.
Later we find Ben still on the wreck, standing and looking at the horizon. A voice says “Hey kid” and for a sec I thought it was Ghost Luke. But no ! Ben turns around and it’s Han !
Ben says he is just a memory, “your memory” answers Han. Ben says Ben Solo is dead and Han says that it’s Kylo Ren who is dead, and asks him to come home. And Ben says it’s too late, “she’s dead”. Earlier on we had a hint that Ben wanted to go back to her but he believed he had went to far on the wrong track to be able and allowed to go back. Now Han tells him that what Leia believed in and fought for is still alive. The following scene mirror the one on the Starkiller bridge in SW7, when he killed Han, an act that still haunts him in this movie. Ben says the same lines “I know what I have to do but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it.”. Han’s touches his face and tells him he does. Ben calls him “dad” in a heartwrecking tone and turn around to throw his lightsaber into the sea. When he turns back Han isn’t there anymore.
The next time we see him it’s on Palpatine’s lair. Rey got there and confronted Palpatine who told her he didn’t want her dead, he wanted her to kill him so his spirit would be transferred in her body. Of course she doesn’t want to do so and doesn’t plan on hating him either. But he opens up the roof of the temple and she can see the Resistance’s ships getting their asses kick by his fleet. He tells her that if she completes the rituel she will have control over his fleet and she could then save her new family (the Resistance).
And then she feels Ben. He is here in the temple, with only a loose shirt, pants and a blaster, reminding me of young Luke or young Han, he is fighting his way toward her but the knights of Ren have him cornered and he is now unarmed. Rey and him look into each other eyes using their force bound (that is now strong enough for them to transfer objects between them) and they nods in agreement. Rey pretends she will strike Palpatine down, just like Ben pretented he was going to kill Rey before Snoke. She rises her saber while Palpatine narrates, puts it behind her back and... it’s in Ben’s hands. He was a very endearing gesture there, like he is saying “now we’re talking” and he fights the knights of Ren, one against six, with a blue light saber. Meanwhile Rey has another lightsaber : Leia’s, that force ghost Luke gave her and she fights Palpatine’s guards.
Ben reaches her and they stand togeteher, in sync, before Palpatine. “you stand together. you die together” says Palapatine and he attacks them. But when he does the flesh on his finger is restored. He realized Rey and Ben have something very rare in the force, a bound, a dyad. And he absorbs their power to rejuvenate/heal himself. Rey and Ben fall unconscious on the ground. Palpatine now with his full power, unleashed massive a electric beam toward the ships and starts frying the Resistance (who in the meanwhile got backup from the whole galaxy).
Ben is the first to wake up but Palpatine throws him down a pit kinda like he was thrown in one by Vader. Then Rey wakes up, lies on her back and see the fleet, but beyond them she sees the stars and says “be with me”. Many jedi voices (Luke, Yoda, Qui-Gon, Anakin, Ashoka etc) answer tell her to get back up, that they are with her.
She takes her saber and rise on her feet. Palpatine directs his electicity toward her and she blocks it with her saber. He tells her it’s useless, she can’t defeat him as he is all of the Siths, she cannot win. But she grabs the second light saber and push back, says she is all the jedis, and Palpatine is vaporized by his own force lightining.
The victory is here. However Rey drops the saber and fall on the floor, unmoving, eyes open. Finn (who is force sensitive) fells that she is dead. But from the pit arise Ben. He is injured, limping, he falls several times in his way to reach her but when he finally falls near her, he grabs her and cradles her, looking desperate. Her body is limp, her eyes still open and unmoving. So he lies her down in his laps, closes his eyes and gives her his life energy. Of course it works ! And, knowing about the leaks I think “oh no. oh no. maybe they were wrong about this part at least” and “you mom and uncle would be so pround of you right now”. Rey wakes up, sits up, looks at him, puts his hand on his face. He is so relieved, she smiles and calls his name, “Ben”. And they KISS. BOUM CANON REYLO. And when they break the kiss he gives her a smile so relieved, happy and innocent, it breaks my harts. It breaks my heart because they hug (I think) and then he falls backward. Eyes closed, unmoving and his body disappears and as it does so does Leia’s ! No more Ben. All there is left are his clothes on the ground. And that’s it.
Rey says nothing, the scene just cut to the fleet coming home and celebrating. We see her rejogning the fleet in Luke’s X-Wing, then on their base where she happily reunites with BB-8, Poe and Finn. Then she goes on Tatooine, finds the Skywalker farm, buries Leai and Luke’s lightsaber together. She has made her own lightsaber. It’s yellow.
An old lady passes by and asks her who she is. She says “Rey” and looks on her right. There are Luke and Leia’s force ghosts standing side by side and I’m already dead inside. On Leia’s left there is a blank space. I expected Ben’s ghost to materialize there, like Anakin’s did beside Yoda and Obi-wan in SW4, to shows us Ben is still with her in some way and that he was at least reunited with his mother, thzt he is at peace with Luke and himself. But no, nothing. She says “Rey Skywalker”, watched Tatooine’s suns set and that’s it. Nothing more about Ben turning back good, nothing showing some people -at least Poe, Finn AND FUCKING CHEWIE - YOU KNOW, HIS KINDA-UNCLE CHEWIE, CHEWIE, BEN’S FATHER’S BEST-FRIEND, CHEWIE WHO LET OUT AND HEARTBREAKING CRY AND FELT ON HIS KNEES WHEN HE LEARNT LEIA) DIED, CHEWIE WHOSE THREE BEST FRIENDS (HAN, LUKE, LEIA]) DIED TRYIND TO REACH OUT TO BEN - learned that Ben saved Rey’s life, helped defeat Palpatine and in the end did the right thing. For all we know the galaxy still believes he is evil and died evil.
And really, if Rey went through all the trouble of separating from her friend and go on the Skywalker homeland - like she intended to live there- , couldn’t she just build up a life there with Ben. I can’t see how people would accept Ben and his redemption after he killed so many, including Han, and as he was such an important and feared figure of the First Order. But they could have lay low and live happily together on Tatooine and build a home and a family together there. A Palpatine and a Skywalker, united in peace and love. Two lost children, orphan now, creating their own home. A new start, a new life. But no. We don’t get that. Ben was too young to die in a Star Wars movie. This is not Rogue One wtf.
_____________
So yeah no, I’m not quite okay. The end was too quick. The movie was nice, it didin’t felt slow or dragging, there wasn’t any horses race scene. But the conclusion was too short, to abrupt imo. You needs to spend a little more time on it after three movies ! Or you know, since it’s the end of the Skywalker saga FUCKING NINE MOVIES. Gimme a 30 minutes long ending like in Return of the King. I’m okay with this ! I do want to know what became of the Resistance, of Finn, Poe, Chewie. I do want to see force ghost Ben (since you weren’t kind and hopeful enough to keep him alive).
Btw : R2D2 is barely in this movie and does almost nothing. It’s R2D2. Sure BB8 is cute but R2 as been around since Padmé ! He knows stuffs !! He is good at his job, let him save lives !
No canon Stormpilot. The queer character is has expect of an american Blockbuster own by Disney, a minor character (the lady who said in SW8 that Admiral Ackbar is dead and Leia in a coma) and she just kisses another lady for like 0.02 sec in a crowded scene.
No Rose x Finn either for that matter, not a word about the kiss, or their relation. Two new girls who have a romantic vibe with Poe or Finn, but it doesn’t lead anywhere fortunately.
Force ghost-Luke ! Memory-Han ! Leia (RIP) ! Lando (a bit) ! Chewie (still alive)! C3PO and R2 still alive ! Fucking PALPATINE wtf why were you not hinted at earlier ! CGI young-Luke and young-Leia traning in a forest ! Luke X-wing taking flight again ! The Millenium Falcon still up and running ! So many people from the old movies.
Also Qui-Gon Jinn’s voice. Strangely it conforted me to hear his voice but dammit gimme force ghost-Ben !
What else? Oh yeah Hux betrayed the First Order to get in Kylo’s way and got unmasked and killed. No one ever talked about him again.
Also BEN SOLO IS FREAKING DEAD ! So Ben, you were a betrayed and manipulated kid ? Manipulated by freaking Palpatine and betrayed by your uncle Luke ? You want to do the right now ? Well you will have to die for it!
No ! Keep him alive, have him earn is redemption by doing more for the good guys, to compensate the harm he has done. Or at least leave him in peace with his lover.
I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY KILLED OFF -ALL- THE SKYWALKERS ! We like them ! Keep the young and last one alive at least !
Also the whole Palpatine business is so abrupt. That’s a thing for three movies, or two at last, not just the last one.
But I enjoyed it anyway. But my heart is quite broken. And it’s the end of the trilogy and Skywalker bloodline and story and i don’t know what to do with this.
I wished they hadn’t reused the “reformed bad-guy saves someone he loves from the Emperor but dies by doing so” plot point from the Return of the Jedi. We had seen this already, you could have done something knew and less heartbreaking. Vader at done a lot more evil, willingly, not because he was confused and manipulated, he was old, barely living. But Ben ? Ben was ready to start anew on the right path, he was young and seemed hopeful after Rey came back to life. His parents and his uncle tried to save him from the dark side. But when he finally got away from it he dies ? Just dies like that ? I thought I was okay with the idea that his redemption meant his death, but it turns out I’m not, it doesn’t feels right.
Ben was a main charcater, one in whose redemption I was too much emotionnaly invested about to be okay with him dying like that, Vader style.

just watched TROS and i have NO WORDS... (except i also have many). what was that
at about half of the movie one guy stood up, put on his jacket and left...I don’t think he was wrong
spoilers below (the bad and the good - however little that might be). please come to talk if you’ve seen the movie
first of all...WHAT THE FUCK. what the fuck...i sat through the movie and i had to laugh at times because whatever was happening was so absurd shit i couldn’t even imagine. at other times i just sat with my mouth open and could not believe they really went there...it was that bad. how in the world is this the end of star wars
the way the movie started... in the title sequence...”THE DEAD SPEAK” lol. palpantine’s return or whatever shit announced immediatly (which i didn’t expect would happen); then the first scene of kylo ren in slo-mo killing some random people (literally who was that) in some woods and then finding palpantine’s cave or something where palps told him “hurr hurr i created snoke...i was every voice in your head...kill the girl” - sir how are you even alive. i literally don’t remember if this was explained in the movie and i don’t think so
rey - jesus christ. girl. i don’t know what they did to her character. but anyway. in the beginning of the movie leia did some jedi training with rey and i loved that...especially when rey adressed leia with “master”! but in the start of that scene rey was flying in the air while doing some meditation and that was absurd imo / i laughed lol. then kylo ren showed up because of that force bond shit and rey messed up her training which sucked
nice scene: finn and poe returning from some mission and meeting/reuniting with rey on the rebellion’s home base - rey and poe bickered a bit, rey and finn hugged...i liked that
rey finn and poe and chewie went to a desert planet where some party was going on. nice scene: rey talked to an alien being there and it was a cute, nice interaction that would have been heartwarming
lando shows up, points them to some cave, where a big snake or something was which had an injury lol...rey gave it some life power through the force  and healed it. LOL: foreshadowing...
kylo ren and the knights of ren (lol who are they even) show up on that planet. while the others try to make a ship ready to leave, rey (why...) goes and stands in the middle of the desert waiting for kyle ron to show up or whatever. he does of course and races at her with his ship, she does that jump from the trailer and cuts his ship in half. it crashes and explodes. no, kylo somehow doesn’t die from that. meanwhile poe and finn told chewie to get rey bc they have to leave (knights of ren approaching), but while rey is busy doing whatever the fuck that was, chewie gets captured by some stormtroopers and is led on their transport ship. it takes off. finn screams to rey “they have chewie” and rey uses the force to try and drag that ship back to the ground...kylo emerges and also uses the force on that ship, and they have a force battle until rey does palpantine style force lightning on that ship. it completely explodes. everyone thinks chewie is dead. i was really horrified, not gonna lie, like rey...
but lol. SOMEHOW chewie was on another transport ship (lol???? where was that) and is alive after all. they go to rescue him. while they fly to the stardestroyer where chewie is being kept prisoner, rey says that “yada yada people say they know me but nobody does” to finn and it is awful... arrived on the star destroyer, finn and poe want to free chewie, while rey fucks off to do her own thing and go to kylo’s quarters. force bond kylo appears, they fight blabla, he tells her...
“oh you wanted to take my hand, i kNoW YoU you’re a palpatine, he was your grandfather” ................................................ i read the spoilers so i knew this was gonna come, but seriously???? what a crack fucking theory. REY PALPANTINE!  I QUIT!!!
flashback to rey’s parents who look like nice people who tried to protect her by leaving her on jakku. palps killed them after they didn’t tell him where rey was
meanwhile finn poe and chewie are captured, stormtrooppers are going to execute them. then hux steps in hilariously, kills the stormtroopers, and is like “i’m the spy for the rebellion.” i laughed
who is zorii...or whatever her name was.
the trio gang goes to that planet where the remains of the death star are...they meet a group of horse riders, one of them jannah. i loved her! i really did. she was one of the bright spots for me in that shitshow. her and finn talk, she also used to be a stormtrooper and has the same story as finn
also Finn was shown very clearly to be force sensitive! loved that
rey does another solo trip and goes to the remains of the death star...where she meets dark!rey which was hilarious and absurd. they fight and at one point dark!rey hissed and bared her teeth at rey - i actually scream laughed
well then kylo ron came to that planet, the water fight scene happened, and actually rey fucking killed him!!! he died! cut to leia. she says “ben” and then somehow just actually dies too. seriously. just like that. FROM WHAT???
anyway rey feels that leia has died and lol idk she’s like oh know and resurrects kylo with the force. yeah. lol. she’s then like “yeah i did want to take your hand...ben’s hand” and cries and leaves
really...who is ben. why do you care. what
on the rebellion base people are gathered around leia’s dead body and i don’t remember her name, but lupita nyongos character say “farewell, dear princess” and that almost made me cry
back to kylo. he’s looking at the ocean in contemplation. suddenly a voice behind him says “hey, kid”. he turns around and it’s han fucking solo. LOL
they basically play out the same scene as in tfa just before kylo killed han except this time he doesn’t. han says kylo ron died and kylo yeets his lightsaber into the water.
ok, another hilarious absurd scene: rey goes to luke’s exile planet and sets kylo’s ship (which she took to fly there) on fire. she’s throwing the lightsaber in the flames but oh! a hand yeets out of the flames! it’s force ghost luke who caught the saber and is like oh you should be more careful with a jedi’s weapon.
luke then shows her LEIA’S LIGHTSABER and there’s a flashback scene of LEIA AND LUKE DOING JEDI TRAINING !!!! a good part of the movie
rey takes both lightsabers and flies to palpantine’s planet. she meets him in his cave. palps does he’s usual unimaginable power shit...”i want you to kill me...then my soul will go over to you and all the siths that have ever been will live in you”. whatever
“ben” also shows up of course, he kills the kights of ren with the lightsaber that was magically teleported to him by rey i guess
rey and “ben” face palps together. he is like oh your bond is so strong, let me take all your energy...very reminiscent of dementor’s in harry potter movies sucking out their souls lol. they drop to the ground, unconscious. palps lifts “ben” up and yeets him into a big abyss.
there was a nice scene in between of poe grieving for leia and saying he doesn’t know what to do/how they can make it, but then lando shows up and they talk about how lando and the old trio back in the day didn’t know how to make it either, but they still tried etc. and made it
ok another nice scene: while palps is doing super force lightning to destroy the rebel fleet or whatever, rey is on the ground gatherig strength and she hears the voices of old jedi masters...obi wan! anakin i’m pretty sure also!
then there’s a nice shot of her standing up and facing the emperor with lightsaber in hand.
she kills him, but dies doing it.
but wait lol...”ben” somehow crawls back out of that abyss to cry over her dead body. he also revives her with force power. they look at each other sappily and kiss.......no words. they fucking really went there
actually when that happened the people in the cinema made a lot of sounds, some said ew lmao others just laughed
then “ben” dies for good lol. people scream laughed
in the end there was a nice rebellion victory celebration scene, i always like scenes like that
rey goes to tattoine and buries the lightsabers of luke and leia who show up via force ghost. somehow rey then has a yellow lightsaber in her hand. some old woman comes along and asks who are you? rey says...i’m rey.....skywalker and then watches the sunset. the end.
in spoilers i read it was said that rey says she feels incomplete without kylo and goes to live on tattoine alone for the rest of her life. maybe i blacked out and didn’t get that, but i did not see it. it did not happen, right?
when the movie ended some people in the cinema actually started clapping.
lol. i don’t know what that was...yeah it had some good moments, but it really was the worts star wars movie of all times for me. it was wild and absurd and stupid as fuck and i am so, so disappointed. TFA i loved, there was so much potential there...but then tlj happened and somehow tros eneded up even worse than that. i don’t know what the worst part for me was, rey palpantine, leia’s death in that manner, reylo... it was a mess. it actually makes me really sad. bye felicia

this post has been made like hundred of times probably but u cant compare THE anakin skywalker to kyle ron, like u just cant. they are different on so many levels i even doubt if there’s anything they share besides not being jedis and participating on an evil empire. one was born a slave, had to leave his mother behind to go with the jedis, who treated him badly and like he wasnt good enough. anakin watched his mother die bc the jedi council refused to let him go save her, then had visions of his wife dying while giving birth to his kids and when he tried to save her, he turned to the dark side and it eventually all came true. THEN he fought with his mentor and had all his limps cut by him and let to burn. meanwhile kylo was born to leia and han, who i assume were good parents, with luke as his jedi trainer. there’s nothing to disprove the fact that he had a good childhood and it wasnt until snoke/palpatine began “preying” on him that he had so much darkness in him that LUKE, out of all ppl, saw that he wasnt redeemable. finally, he burning lukes school/academy and killing all the ppl in it and then he joined the FO.
make no mistakes tho, im not justifying anakin nor do i think he was right but i do think his background and environment were a big part of the reason that he turned to the dark side. meanwhile, with the evidence provided by the movies, theres no reason to believe kylo has ever had any lack of support or trust from his environment/family. even in his last moments han trusted him and encouraged him to come to the light side, hell LEIA sacrificed herself for him. i just think that meanwhile yeah in the end both of them did unspeakable and despicable things, imo one did it bc of fear and a lack of idk, support? comprehensive emotional outlet? and the other just bc teehee my mom and dad love me and im emo.
idk but dont compare them one is sexy as hell and the other is a rat
