A/N: Too many things to say, I'll make it fast. First things first, hi, I'm happy to be writing again and even happier to see your support after all that inactive time!! Second, this fic's inspired by a chapter of Claudia Gray's "Lost Stars" so if you see resemblance that's why. Third, I know we still don't know much about Reva's past but this is a fic sir, let me have this. When I saw Reva I just knew i had to write this. Hopefully I'll write more of her soon. Finally, I'm a bit rusty. Please allow some mistakes and weirdness. Thank you for reading!!!!
"I thought I made myself clear when I told you to leave this planet." You heard a familiar voice behind you.
Felt the commanding presence behind you and her caped figure standing on the doorway of your rather tiny hut, covering the last rays of daylight.
“It’s nice to see you too, Reva.” you told her after taking a sip of the drink in front of you.
"I gave you a warning.” Reva growled, her tone a bit louder and angrier. “You should have listened to it."
“I know.” you murmured, finally turning around to face her. The Third Sister was standing a few feet away from you. Her strong presence and the double lightsaber on her hand would intimidate anyone but not you. Or at least not as much. "I thought you understood that I can't leave them, Reva."
Reva and you were close back at the Jedi Temple, when the Republic was still a thing. After Order 66 you ran away together and as you grew older, you two became so much more closer. But decided it was safer to be separated, so you parted ways.
Years later, Reva became an avid Inquisitor and her endless search for Master Kenobi led her to find you hiding in a small village of Dantooine. But when the moment came she couldn't do it. She couldn't kill you.
"There's been dozens of reports about a force user in this village. You know I have to report you, Y/N” The Inquisitor walked closer to you, examining every detail of your face, now mere inches away from hers. “No, I have to take you back with me.” she corrected herself. “And even if I don't, one of them will.”
Was that anger or concern in her voice? You couldn’t tell, but there was definitely conflict on her face.
“You have to leave, Y/N.” She commanded.
“I can’t.” You told her as confidently as you could. “These people need my help.”
“No. They don’t!” she cut you off. “They were perfectly fine without you and they will be fine when you’re gone.”
Dantooine, as most of the planets in the Outer Rim, was not a big point of interest for the Empire, but it was for pirates and mercenaries looking for easy credits and targeted small villages like the one you lived in. You had helped its inhabitants by protecting them against pirates but you were sure if you left they’d come back.
“If I go, these people have no chance against pirates.” you told Reva. “I don’t think you understand how much they need someone who can protect them.”
“It doesn’t have to be you, Y/N!” Reva was angry again. She slammed her hand on the small table behind you, making you flinch.
The Third Sister left your side and started walking around your hut. There was not much to see, the small hut was only decorated with a bed, a small table and a couple storage crates but you knew she was only doing it to avoid your gaze.
You decided to break the silence between the two of you.
“You could stay here, Reva.” you murmured.
You had this argument a long time ago, both of you knew neither would win this fight.
“Or maybe you could listen to me for once and get the hell out of this planet.” She answered with a cold tone, still not looking at you. “Otherwise, I’ll have to kill you. I will kill you, Y/N.” She said. She was right. Reva had to kill you or it’d be worse for her. The Grand Inquisitor was not a forgiving man and only the Force knew what would happen to Reva if she came back empty handed.
The room fell silent again.
Carefully, you walked up to her side.
"You look tired." You muttered, your hand carefully reaching to brush the side of her face. Even after these years it was still shocking to see how much she had changed. “What are they doing to you?"
Reva flinched a bit, unused to this simple gesture, yet, she relaxed a bit just because it was you and she knew you wouldn’t hurt her.
"This is serious, Y/N" she said, the tone of her voice less commanding and tense but rather soft and worried. "I don't want them to hurt you. I don't want to hurt you."
"What do you want, then?" you questioned.
Reva’s eyes finally caught yours and in them you saw the pain she had been through all those years you were apart. But also all the longing she had accumulated since the last time you saw each other.
"I want you." she barely whispered before capturing your lips in a gentle kiss, too gentle coming from the fierce Inquisitor.
But soon it became deeper, demanding.
You hadn’t realized how much you’ve missed Reva’s touch until she had you hypnotized with her kisses, pulling your body closer to her. Your hands traveled over her armor-covered body, already wanting to set her free of the Inquisitor uniform just like you had done once, a few years before.
For the rest of the night you forgot about the existence of everything outside the four walls of the tiny hut. There was no Jedi or Empire, you weren't a runaway jedi and an Inquisitor, it was just Reva and you, loving one another.
Later that night you found yourself admiring Reva’s features, softened by the moonlight that slipped through the window.
"There's no way I can persuade you to stay, is there?" You asked, breaking the comfortable silence.
Reva’s eyes saddened at your question. “I’m afraid no.” she whispered.
You knew it wasn’t because she didn’t want to, but rather because she couldn’t. They would come after her.
"Are you going to turn me in?" you continued.
"No."
"But you're going to report me." you said. You got confirmation when she avoided your eyes and then turned her whole body away from you, she seated at the end of the bed.
"I have to.” Reva muttered.
"I understand"
You did. You couldn't imagine what terrible things would happen to her if she didn't at least report you. Hell, she had put herself at risk already by letting you go the first time and this second time around.
"Reva,” gently you called her name as you carefully approached her, wrapping your arms around her naked back. “Forget about it for now, just… be here with me tonight.” you let a single soft kiss on her shoulder.
She thought about it for a moment. She had to go back to the Fortress, go back to being the Third Sister… but she didn’t want to leave you. Again.
But she just had to. Her life and yours depended on that. But… it could wait until the next morning.
“That I can do.” she gave you a genuine smile before turning to face you and stealing a new kiss. And then another. And then you were making love once again.
The night with Reva was one of the sweetest in your life. Just being able to have her by your side made you find the peace you couldn’t find, no matter how hard you tried to find it.
The next morning, however, wasn’t as pleasant and happy.
As the sun rose over Dantooine and its light started to slip through the only window of the hut, you woke up to an empty cold bed.
Was Reva really gone? Could she be so cold to just disappear before you woke up?
But just as you were about to get off the bed, you heard her voice.
“Morning, Y/N”. She said. You followed the sound of her voice and found her sitting in the only chair of the room, she had just finished with the last piece of black armor, hair perfectly fixed in elaborated braids and the particular lightsaber laying on the table.
“You’re leaving.” You said. You knew this was gonna happen, still, it hurt to see.
Reva limited herself to slowly nod.
"Y/N…” she said your name, with such tenderness, with so much love… yet, she doubted. “You have a week to leave this planet. Won't say it again" she said, the cold commanding tone back on her voice. "After that time, I'm telling the rest of the inquisitors where to find you, so you better be far away when they arrive."
"Reva…" you murmured but you were interrupted by Reva.
“Promise me.” she implored, “You have to promise me you will leave Dantooine before the end of the week.”
A lump formed in your throat and tears threatened to fall off the corner of your eyes. Reva said many times how the Jedi were cowards and how pathetic it was that they would risk their lifes just to save someone else. But that was exactly what she was doing and you were sure she didn’t even notice it.
You could only keep your promise to honor her sacrifice.
“I will. I promise.” you told her.
The Third Sister nodded once again before turning to the exit of the room.
“Wait!” you shouted, already rushing to her side, half wrapped in a blanket. Carefully, you pulled her and made her look at you "Will I see you again?"
You both knew the answer to that question.
"For your own good, better not" she said, half angry, half sad. Then her features softened. "Stay safe, Y/N." Reva mumbled caressing the side of your face with her gloved hand.
You pulled her in for a new (and maybe last) kiss, soft and gentle. A farewell. A promise.
"You too, my dearest Reva."
Then she disappeared through the door, like a shadow that vanishes with the arrival of the sun.
