this is so related but unrelated at the same time but hear me out🙄

this character, in case not familiar, is Eustass Kid🤢 admittedly the worst unlikable ugly scottish one piece character🤮

but this post isn't about him, it's about animal crossing.

bc as my obligatory campsite villager in acnh (Animal Crossing: New Horizons) arrived, the smug villager moving in just so happened to be named Kidd💀

(that is Kidd, staring longingly at a clothing store like a true slur)

Now, obviously it could have been worse, it could have been Kid Cat that moved in, since he's also red. Although kid cat is most likely a jock villager and would have ruined my game experience even sooner.

Prompt 41 with Eyeless Jack

Oh boy oh boy when I made the role swap prompt I didnt think anyone would pick it, but I'm so glad it was chosen!! AND with probably one of my favorite characters + with a character where a role swap would be drastic to their characterization? SIGN ME UP!!!

With Jack no longer being sucked up into the cult that ruined him in the first place hes allowed to continue to live his life in relative peace. Hes allowed to finish his education, hes allowed to get into his dream career field, and hes allowed to interact with other people as normal. Although he doesn't appreciate it as much as his other counterpart would, due to him not having that privilege stripped away from him. Hes not as closed off or gloomy, either. Not to say hes a way of sunshine, because hes not... but hes noticibly in a better place mentally than the main timeline.

You, on the other hand... you're really going through it. It hurts, so much. Mentally and physically, it feels like your body is breaking and contorting constantly and your mind is tearing itself apart as a means to protect itself and as a byproduct of what was done to you. Eventually there will be no "You" to occupy your body.

As nice of a thought it would be that Jack would stay by your side were your roles reversed, it's not likely. Unlike the main timeline, hes not tricked into interacting with this.. sort of thing. Even if he believed monsters and such to exist in this universe, he doesn't actively meddle in those things. He knows how these things end and hes not going to knowingly put himself into a situation.

The only way the two of you interact outside of a single encounter would be if you knew each other before everythj g went to shit. He may not see you for long, but he does seem to at least try to secure a safe place for you to.. exist.. without having to be caught and prodded or even killed. You cant exactly call what you're doing "living", you're constantly fighting with whatever is changing you and trying not to get caught by people going monster hunting.

Jack's visits to you become less and less frequent, and they become shorter. Until eventually he just. Stops coming to you, likely without a word. He doesnt seem like the type to have the nerve to tell you hes leaving town. It's not a happy ending and its harsh given that if your roles were back where they were, you'd still be trying to visit him... but he still pushes you away in the main timeline, so maybe things arent so different after all.

whats ur favorite danger force episode?

Uncle Hambone is on top for me. It's such a confort episode filled with fluff and funny moments. We also see new sides of our characters, like Bose woke up that day and decided to be so sassy to everybody for no reason, and he STILL wasn't able not to fidget or get nervous around mika. In the end, tho, I really like how he mustered up the courage to ask her out on a date (in his own way, but yk💀). And just after that, we learn that Mika doesn't think with her heart or that she is always trying to find the logic behind what somebody said without ACTUALLY listening to what they said, and that her explains the 'what?🤨' reaction.

I don't think I even have to explain chapa's motives and actions during this episode. Her soft side for her sister made such a huge impact on me as an older sister. I couldn't even begin to explain why I think that's so important for her character and how I think that's such a good way to end her season 2 storyline. (Actually, I can, and I did it on my page, you just have to scroll a little bit around to find my chapa analysis).

Well, as for miles, although he didn't leave a big impact on me this episode, I liked how they(the writers) decided to finally not isolate him from the rest of the group, like they were doing for HUGE chunk of season 2💀(bisky billions, Jack the clipper, the girl who cried danger are big examples of that).

We, also, should really talk more about the colors and the color palette during the entirety of this episode because I could talk about it for DAYS. The drastic change between the warm tones at chapas house and the cooler ones at the man's nest, with dark night sky in the background, is *chef's kiss*. I could also talk about how I think it was meant to symbolize bomika's feelings for eachother, how the warm tones were meant to indicate bose and his welcoming and cozy nature, while also indicating that he knows and he is aware of his feelings for mika. And that's what chapa represents (metaphorically), feelings. Chapa needed to come out of her house because she was needed in the man's nest to quite literally shock it back to life, kinda like mika (who is represented by the cooler tones) needs someone needs to shock some sense into her (maybe bose revealing his feelings for her) and get her head out of the dirt.

Chapa's porch would indicate both bose and mika since it's a mix between both warm and cool tones.

While still speaking of color palettes, everyone's outfit was really likable.

Watching episode 2, here’s my thoughts

Stalker Annabeth and the “You drool when you sleep.” My girl!!

“PETER JOHNSON IS HERE!” Lol

“Yeah, Grover, I heard him the first time.” Mr. D is so funny. I feel like he’s severely underrated in book canon

“But did you?” Sassy Percy my beloved

“Excuse me your highness.” Lmao. I love how Mr. D cringed at that

Nooo not Mr. D messing with Percy and making him like that he’s Percy’s father 💀💀 Honestly, that scene is hard to watch. It’s too embarrassing for me lmao

The way that Chiron was just standing in the doorway is funny 🧍‍♂️

“Oh, no, Mr. D is not your father.” “I could be.” “Yes, but are you?” “Why must you ruin everything?” Lol Chiron and Mr. D are an underrated comedic duo

Mr. D telling Grover not to overthink it is cute. Glad to see that Mr. D’s care for the satyrs is present in the show

I like how Annabeth showed Percy around camp in the book. Chiron showing Percy around is fine, but it was better with Annabeth

Camp looks cool. It doesn’t look anything like how I personally imagined it, but I like how they made chb. The cabins look cool. A lot cooler than I ever imagined them lmao

I kind of wish Percy figured out Sally was still alive and wasn’t told. I like how they handled Percy accepting the quest in the book better. It felt more authentic to Percy’s character

Ok, I like this episode a lot better than the first one. They’ve changed some things around that I think they should have kept, but otherwise the show is looking good. There was not enough Annabeth in this episode. I don’t know why they are taking away all her roles and giving them to other characters, and I don’t like it. Give me Percy and Annabeth bonding before the quest or give me death. I still feel like the show is not doing a good job of showing me why I should care about the characters and the plot, but I have hope that that changes

I know that you sent me only this question but I'm going to answer all of them because I really want to about him (forgive me anon 😭🙏)

My first impression

"Goddamn he's hot"

He also really gave me vibes of authority and power. A figure that commands respect wherever he goes. Especially with how he could silence a room with just one word.

My impression now

ONE OF THE BEST FICTIONAL CHARACTERS EVER WRITTEN. Period.

Favorite thing about that character

His determination. The fact that he doesn't give up no matter the obstacles or the years in front of him.

(Also his hair *pats it* and his eyes 😚)

Least favorite thing

I really love him and I don't have many things that annoy me in him. Except maybe his grumpiness. When he constantly did that in RoW it annoyed me at times. I understand why he was like that but still.

Favorite line/scene

“Blue sky. Once more... Speak my name once more.... Don't let me be alone.”

Aka. his last words.

Favorite scene for him as a character has to be the tent scene in S&B. The extent of vulnerability he showed there is immense but most people don't get it because they're influenced by Alina's "Oh it's just an act" viewpoint of him.

Jareth from "The Labyrinth" (but without the make up, that hair and the singing part) although that's kind of a cheat because Aleksander was based on him.

Sebastian Morgenstern from "The Mortal Instruments". There are literally so many similarities.

SPOILERS!!

- They were both raised by an abusive parent.

- They were also both raised in isolation in a way.

- They were both suffering from loneliness and wanted love and company.

- They were both obsessed with a certain girl and wanted to get her.

- They both offered a throne to that girl.

- They both were jealous of the boy their girl was interested in.

- Their girl pretended at some point that they were on their side.

- They were both stabbed in the heart by that girl and killed.

(But for those who don't know make no mistake. Sebastian makes Aleksander seem like an innocent puppy. Since the former was actually obsessed with his sister and even tried to rape her💀)

Rinko, Rinko/Gojo dynamic, Trauma

I think maybe I've mentioned it before, but Rinko has quickly become one of my favorite OCs I've ever written. She's strong, sassy, and so fun to write because of how much I've gotten to develop her character.

Her relationship with Gojo is fun because it's so antagonistic but also based so deeply on trust and mutual respect that their entire friendship and relationship would be impossible without. She knows he doesn't respect people hardly at all, but he's made it very clear, since after their very first fight, that he has respect for her.

They both have so much trauma. And they are both so messy. And it makes them so fun to write because it makes them so human.

Their dynamic is also perfect because of how they are with conflict:

Rinko will avoid conflict. She runs as fast as she can because if she runs before the conflict, she can't be rejected after the conflict. She will stand her ground when she has to (Last Stand, eh?) but she will run when she can. She's lived her entire life being told she was an unwanted mistake, dealing with rejection in so many ways. (But you can't reject her if she's already gone.) Remember in Hollow Echoes? When Gojo was actually trying to get her to talk to him and she was avoiding him? When she tells herself he doesn't want to see or talk to her even though he is insistently texting her? This bitch really trying to be a track star with how much she will run.

Gojo, on the other hand, will chase. He doesn't let her hide away. He respects her space when she needs it, just as he asks of her, but when he knows she's just running to run? He is relentless. He is a brute force kind of person. He is all 'pay attention to me because I'm the greatest and strongest and chosen one' and when he knows it's not violating her boundaries, he will push and push until she lets him in. But it's why he's so insistent on understanding where her boundaries are, so that he can tell when he's nearing a line.

As they grow together, she starts to become more comfortable with pushing him when she knows he needs it. She'll stand her ground with him more often and it's going to be beautiful. Because we'll see that he doesn't mind her pushing him when she asks first instead of assuming.

Gojo's character

BRUH 💀 I just really love blue-eyed, overly confident, cocksure fuckers, who are secretly so FUCKING SOFT, I guess. I actually have a different character in an original work of mine, who is similar to Gojo in SO MANY WAYS that it's scary. I think it might be what made me fall in love with Gojo so quickly when I first got into JJK.

But as for Gojo: His character is so multidimensional while seeming so damn shallow at the same time. And that is really fun to write. Because at the end of the day: the asshole is absolutely so fucking shallow and selfish. He cares about Rinko, but their entire dynamic started because he was a cocky shit who hated that someone beat him.

His initial attraction to Rinko started because he wanted to break her and prove he was stronger until he realized that she already knew and just didn't care. She denied him. And she read him like a fucking book by knowing it would drive him crazy. He knew she wanted him too, and it annoyed him that she turned him down just to get under his skin. And it annoyed him even more that it worked.

It blew him away when, even as she was literally in his lap, having just cum on his fingers right after he spanked her and she still looked him in the eye and stated she should have known he wouldn't be able to make her cum. And it drove him fucking crazy because he'd never, ever been pushed in so many ways.

His multidimensional ass is still based off his arrogance in being the strongest, and that makes him so fun.

✨Healthy Communication and Boundaries✨

That's it. That's this section.

JUST KIDDING.

Okay, but it's built and it works because of mutual trust and respect that is the foundation of it all.

It's displayed so perfectly in how well he reads her in the second part of Hollow Echoes:

“If you can’t speak,” he reached up, grasping her hand in his. “Squeeze my hand twice if your color is red.”

He knew she physically could speak, but that she didn't want to. She didn't want to admit allowed that he had her, and he knew that. And he understood that that was actually a boundary she was unintentionally setting, and he understood that forcing her to speak would be pushing her too far. So he gave her a different way to express her consent and then doubled down on ensuring she knew that she could tell him 'no' at any point and that it was okay.

She gripped his hand tightly, feeling her nails digging into his skin. But she didn’t squeeze again, and he looked up now, his eyes searching her face. She knew he could see how her jaw trembled as she refused to meet his eyes, tears still sliding down the sides of her face. “You know,” he said quietly. “At any point your color changes, you tell me?”

Had she squeezed his hand twice, he would have stopped without question and I just AHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Healthy communication is my kink, guys.

Has Shoko ever opened up about Geto and Gojo growing distant?

Yes and no.

Shoko is a pretty private person. And we've already seen that Rinko doesn't like pushing people to open up. She knew that Shoko was relatively close with both of them, and she knows that it really upset her friend when Geto decided to go a different path and Gojo began distancing himself. But, in our world, it wasn't as jarring for her because she had Rinko.

Rinko and Shoko met early during first year. And Rinko's presence in her life meant she ended up spending less of her off time with Gojo and Geto, and more with Rinko. And when Geto left, and Gojo distanced himself, she just spent more time with Rinko instead of with either of them.

Rinko mentions that she and Shoko used to get lunch at least once a month, but saw each other more often after her semi-grade promotion, so essentially, if she wasn't with Gojo or Nanami while she was in Tokyo, she was with Shoko.

As a small spoiler, we will be getting a single chapter from Shoko's perspective in the future 😊 And it'll give a bit of a different perspective and view of Rinko and how well the two know each other.

Lastly for this, we also have to remember that Shoko doesn't really show emotions that often. She's pretty shrewd and straightforward, but we'll get to see her panic a few times because of Rinko over the course of the series.

Character Ages

Ah! I've been planning on posting something about this!! So I'll take this chance and then probably make a larger, separate post about it.

A quick answer: As of Innate Issues - Part 2, Rinko is 26.

Gojo Satoru was born on December 7, 1989.

Kurisaki Rinko was born on October 18, 1989.

Rinko is a little less than two months OLDER than Gojo. So he'll eventually make a joke about liking older women. I don't know when, but he's the kind of little shit that would.

Maki and Mai were born on January 20, 2002.

Megumi was born on December 22, 2002.

Gojo met Megumi not long after killing Toji, and had been visiting him occasionally for a few years when he met Rinko. In the flashback in Strength in Numbers, he had just made the connection between why Toji had ever cared about having Rinko's help, prompting him to bring Megumi up. Early-mid 2012, Megumi was nine and would turn ten that December.

I’ve recently rewatched a movie called The Ritual(2017) based on the book writed by Adam Nevill and I must say that I truly loved this movie!

The acting, the settings, the feeling of being trapped in those woods without having a way out. I really loved all the details and I love how from a movie of 4 guys going on a hiking trip in the mountains after one of their best friends died, went to a true real life nightmare.

I first watched this movie when I was like in 7th grade and I was a scared lil kid back then and when I watched it for the first time I shit myself from how scared I was and I coudn’t watch more of the movie, I’ve watch only like half of it. And than this year I’ve decided to give it a try and man I really fell in love with it. I even rewached it three times already.

I like how there aren’t many jumpscares and just a little bit of gore but I was really interested in the nordic mythology and for me personally this movie is very important.

I really loved the 4 main characters that ones being Luke(the main protagonist), Hutch, Dom and Phil. They are just some good ol’ university friends trying to connect again after so much time by going on a trip in the Sweden mountains to honour their dead friend Rob who was killed in a store by some robers.

Luke as I said is the main protagonist and he is the one who the movie is happening around him. He was the one who was with Rob when he was killed and he didn’t take action to save him or help him and now himself and the rest of the group blames him for what happend to Rob.

Everyone blames him exept for Hutch(the second main character) who is the leader of the group and the most closest to Luke. He is the only one who don’t blames Luke and the only one who still considers Luke his friend.

Dom is like the crybaby drama queen of the group. He is always the one with the big mounth and complains alot. He is like that one annoying friend but you still care about him beacuse you know him how he is. Dom is the one who blames Luke for what happend and that grows the tension between the group.

Phill is the character with the less characterization not having a clear personality and most of the movie being in the background. Not a big fan of this character beacuse of the lack of personality he has and beacuse he had so much potential to have a good role in the group instead of just being there.

I won’t get too much into the details since I want to create separate posts for my review or discussing about this movie since this might be my new hyperfixation for a while 🤷‍♂️

I’ll just talk more about it and maybe starting doing some fanarts of it since I wanted to do that since my first rewatched of it.

I wanna buy the book as well to read it beacuse now I wanna consume as much as I can from this series, movies, books, youtube videos, theories, fanarts, fanfics ANYTHING.

I know not many people are interested in this movie anymore but I’ll still create these posts maybe, maybe someone who still likes this movie in 2023 will discover my blog :,)

Review Blurbs: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

General Thoughts:

-From what I've seen the animation had like "how are the animators not in a psych ward" insane levels of attention to detail so go look into that cause there's always some new amazing tidbit of info circulating about the movie-making process

-Music score was fantastic, it always did well setting the atmosphere of the scenes and bringing you into the moment (my favorite sequences was Gwen's intro and the Mumbattan segments)

-I'm obsessed with how they choreographed the fight styles, especially for Gwen and Pavitr who had very stylized movements (Gwen's is based off ballet and Pavitr fights using Kalaripayattu)

-I liked how Miles' theme song (What's Up Danger) felt a bit more fitting. In ITSV, Miles was very new to everything and questioning if the hero lifestyle was what he wanted. Now, not only was he so committed to doing things his way that he derailed the entire Spider Society with success, but we also meet Earth-42 Miles who is seemingly very fearsome. To the Spider Society, potentially to the entire multiverse even, they face a danger in the form of Miles Morales.

-This movie was Gwen's movie, full stop. Her and Miles shared the spotlight, she wasn't just a side character this time. I haven't seen people talk about this as much and they should cause Gwen's story was so beautifully crafted and that intro/final scene were some of the best parallel sequences I've ever seen in a movie. Her story and even the storytelling in the music and her "starting a band" were so well done, people have been doing analyses on the music change in the intro vs the final scene and how the music correlates to Gwen's personal growth and just ugh. More Gwen appreciation please (this isn't even getting into the trans allegory literally there was so much to her story so pay tf attention please and thank you)

-Adding on, part of the reason I loved the above point was also cause not only is ITSV's main female character given a big spotlight to shine in, but it served an important narrative purpose of giving the movie a hopeful and satisfying ending, because right now Miles' story is in its sort of Rising/Climax stage. The final act of Miles Morales' story has only just begun, and the movie set it up so damn well cause I know me and everyone alive are dying to know what's gonna happen next with him and Earth-42 Miles. Gwen's arc wrapped up and gave us hope as Miles' story was taking a dark turn, and that hope is what's gonna lead us forward until its his turn to shine in the light once again.

-Loved the new characters, I enjoyed Miguel having layers to his methodology and morals (some people pointed out possible reasons for him acting as aggressive as he did and it makes a lot of sense, but at the time it was just like "why tf is Miguel slamming Miles into a train and screaming at him for not wanting his dad to die papi chill💀")

-Jessica is underrated and I love how they did her character. She's very responsible and definitely has a tough love approach, but she's very human. I laughed out loud when she said she wasn't bothered by being pregnant in this line of work cause the guy she screwed was hot like she is so fucking real omg. Jessica also had a similar attitude to Miguel, but she has a personal connection with Gwen that I think grounds her more. I wish we had more of her mentorship towards Gwen and I hope to see it in the next movie (maybe even a baby reveal👀)

-I don't think anyone mentioned it but Spider-Byte always looked a bit different/off in all her frames and I'm like 99% sure that's cause they used a different animation style to give her that glitched/cyber punk effect which is just so damn cool

-Honestly all the female characters deserve more recognition, fandom still has a huge male bias and it shows cause Gwen, Jessica, Spider-Byte and Lila deserve way more love

-Hobie was without a doubt my favorite character this movie. He's a real punk and I cannot be grateful enough cause I am fucking done with people who ain't actually punk using it as an aesthetic, he's here to show how its done (others have made plenty of observations on him so go check those out cause they're very good)

-Not much to say about Pavitr personally but I adore his character design, definitely my favorite next to Gwen's (he also taught me that chai tea does not exist and is in fact just "tea tea" I'M SORRY I DIDN'T KNOW I'M SOUTH AMERICAN NOT SOUTH ASIAN😭)

-I'm surprised by how engaging Spider-Verse continues to make their villains. Doc Ock was fantastic, and this time around The Spot was a great subversion of expectations. He's silly and from the trailer release to the beginning of the movie, you think he's a joke character to set the mood. Then he starts to become actually sinister and you're sitting there thinking "the movie literally called me out for this and I still managed to fall into expectations". Very good job making a villain character not only feel like a threat, but by doing so in an unexpected way that really rips the rug out from under you. I want to study the story writers' minds like I'm being tested on it

-The return of the OGs was so nice, I wasn't as invested in Into the Spider-Verse admittedly but I felt it when Peni made a reappearance to tell Miles his dad had to die. Shit hit me in the soul (I'm also obsessed with Noir so very happy to see them both back)

-I saw people saying that Spider-Verse was copaganda and I'd like to withhold any definitive stances until Beyond comes out, but it definitely felt like they were holding back when it came to criticisms of Gwen's dad. Remember, it could very well be that the writer's behind Hobie "hate the AM and PM"/wears blue fucking laces Brown were told by higher-ups to cool it or the movie wouldn't get released so don't immediately go after them, learn from the writer's strike to use critical thinking and wait for more info. Hopefully they can address that more after audience reviews come in so we'll see.

-All the scenes where Miles would almost reveal he's Spider-Man to his parents/did reveal it had me stressed lmao, they did a great job making the audience feel the weight and tension of the moment

-The ending was the hypest shit like it was so good I couldn't even be mad about the cliffhanger I was just in awe

-I actually thought towards the end that they might do a two-parter but then I was like "nahhhhh they wouldn't" and then they did that. We very much entered a "final stage" towards the end so I'm wondering how the creators will space it out and what they'll do for the next movie. Either way I am "beyond" hyped

Criticisms:

I only have like two criticisms cause this movie was pretty fucking good, but its never bad to look at what even a masterpiece like Spider-Verse could do better so future projects can take note. Having said that:

-I understand it was for authenticity's sake, but the live-action segments were a bit jarring after being in animation for so long. I would've animated those segments as well or done some form of 3D so it blended in. Every other character was animated so it felt weird when suddenly Andrew Garfield and Donald Glover were on screen (even Tom Holland's spidey was animated). A minor nitpick, but I can respect the boldness in really committing to the meta-mindfuckery of the multiverse

-Gwiles as a ship was never really my thing, so you can understand my surprise when I felt like they actually kinda improved on it since the first movie ("boy has crush on girl because she's pretty and a girl and we're supposed to root for it" is my least favorite trope [*cough cough* cause its what straight dudes like *cough cough*] so its no surprise when Gwiles in ITSV did absolutely nothing for me). Having said that, the movie pushed a tad too hard for it imo. Pavitr was the classic "shipper" character made to push the ship forward and make it super obvious to the audience that its what the movie wants you to root for, and I and many people are not about that. If you need to tell your audience to support a romance then you're not doing it right.

-As sort of an add-on to the above, I think Hobie and Gwen were hinted as having dated during Gwen's time working under Miguel? Which like... why? Literally why. It made no sense and did nothing for the characters or their relationship, they could easily just be friends and nothing would change. This plot point was also never mentioned again after its initial reveal (from Pavitr to cause "drama" for Miles I think) and quite literally nothing came of it. No drama (thank fuck cause that was not what I or anyone went to this movie for), no development, nothing. It was just thrown in and never used. So uh... yeah, don't do that. Thanks.

Final Thoughts:

Across the Spider-Verse was definitely a step-up from the first movie, I was far more engaged and I found very little to criticize from it. Animation, music score, characters, all 10/10, and above all, its action sequences kicked ass and restored the good name of the superhero genre. Watch this movie, and I highly recommend doing so in theaters because it is a perfect example of how movies are not just entertainment, but an experience to remember.

♧ wants his partner to call him pretty. wants them to stroke his face, and trace his cheekbone with their thumb while they're at it. he completely melts onto the palm of their hand and become a pile of goo.

♧ likes recommending different media to his partner like mangas, series, movies, and animes and everything but was lowkey starting to rethink it when they developed crushes on the characters. it is kinda his form of acts of service when it comes to his love language though.

♧ has a corkboard filled with loads of pictures and memos in his room. the things tacked on to it varied from ideas for desserts he got at three in the morning, photos from his high school days, and photos of him and his partner. the latter took up most of the space as he had a picture for most of their dates in the past.

♧ lots and lots of movie dates! sometimes him and his partner will even watch movies they don't know the plot of. they'll just be strolling around town, come across the movie theater, see a really interesting looking poster and impulsively buy tickets. sometimes they end up regretting it, but other times they end up discovering a movie they treasure forever.

♧ loooves going into photobooths. would probably drag his partner into one if they come across some. he adds so much heart and animal stickers to the photo as well!

♧ farmer's market dates as well! he originally dragged his partner out of bed and into town because he was looking for some fresh fruits and high quality cacao, but after setting his eyes on them wearing such a pretty outfit and seeing how supportive they are of his dreams - they never gave him a lackluster answer whenever he asked for their opinion even though he woke them up two hours than what they preferred - he couldn't help but sit them down on one of the cozy chairs and buy them both a bowl of their favorite fruit.

♧ will drag his partner to do couples tiktok dances with him. they do not have a choice in that. however, what they do have a choice in is whether it is to be posted or not.

♧ maybe it's not very obvious, but he's so lovesick. he's in love with the idea of love, yet he does not let this characteristic of his lead him astray. he still has his standards, of course -- remains to know his worth. he'll be so happy when he finds someone who he thinks he's compatible with though, and he's even happier when they think he's compatible with them too.

♧ he doesn't like to make the first move because of his fear of rejection. getting bullied a lot and growing up mostly without friends does something to you.

♧ connected to the last headcannon, because of that, he needs lots and lots of kinds words and love. it may not look it from all the teasing he does, but he does get bad days too, and in tendo's case, when it's bad, it's real bad.

♧ tells his partner things like "aww you sure you wanna be stuck with me forever?" but it's just his unique way of asking for reassurance that they love him and wanna be with him.

♧ someone will never know what it feels like to be unloved if they're with tendo. well, unless he falls out of love with them, that is. but it's pretty unlikely to happen. whenever tendo falls hard enough he gets into a relationship with someone, he falls and he can't enough of them no matter how much time they spend together.

♧ if his partner boops his nose, he will bite their finger and not let go until they beg. he takes biting is my love language literally.

♧ very aggressive and exaggerated arm swinging when him and his partner are walking around outside. it's cute and makes him all giggly, until they hit someone 💀💀 and if that someone is behind them and is rude, he'd tell them off, saying something about how they should have seen the both of them, how they swung their arms, and how it's not really their fault. but if they aren't rude, he's the first to apologize.

♧ acts like he doesn't get jealous easily, but he does. it bothers him a lot and a lot of self-doubt comes into his head as intrusive thoughts. needs lots and lots of reassurance.

the calm of being able to exist in silence w/someone else. discovering a way to speak a language without words. finding a reprieve from the constant chaos in quiet moments where u can just.....BE. w/no pretense. sharing late night meals in the kitchen. taking naps in his subterranean lair while he sculpts for hours.

he gives me BIG body worship vibes. he's an artist and he's definitely thinking massive big brain thoughts about the curve of ur boob and comparing it to a hieronymus bosch painting. where tf did that connection come from?? well, come on the twenty-year odyssey voyage of his thought process and maybe u will figure out!! probably not, tho!! he's just a ponderous ass mfer. curious about every inch of u. v slow and methodical. all about taking his time and learning what makes u tick. this is for art!!!!

if artistic devotion and tributes get u goin, he's v much the Guy. get ready 2 be incorporated in all his pieces. u start finding lovingly detailed charcoal sketches of u on ur nightstand. he shows u a new oil painting and there are ur eyes, starin back @ u. meticulously crafted miniatures of u on the kitchen windowsill. granted, ur usually merged with a spider. or a serpent of some kind. and it's honestly pretty creepy. but the detail is really somethin.

SUPER weird codependent relationship. just like bo, I feel like he's absolutely searching for mama. perhaps even more so? bc I just feel that it's likely that he was sequestered inside for most of his youth. I can't see trudy enrolling him in school/letting him interact with a lot of people. he was her favorite of the twins and I'm sure she wanted to cultivate a relationship where he was entirely dependent on her. it would serve double purposes for her: being needed and adored unequivocally.......while also driving a wedge between the twins themselves. that one line in the og script where carly tells bo that he's talentless (LMAO) and that his mother hated him bc he stole her favorite's face. yep. YEAH.

a partner is more of a muse/concept than a person. v much a mirror of bo's weirdness, but in a less obvious way. due to what's bound to be TONS of one-sided communication, he's definitely prone to build up an idea of what kind of person u are. rather than really understanding u. the technicalities of who u are don't really matter bc he views u through a lens of a source of inspiration, something to be molded into his art, something ABSTRACT.

he's unpredictable. his violence is a LOT more unknowable......and significantly more difficult to comprehend than bo's violence. IMO! all of his kills are brutal and almost clinical. he grew up surrounded by medical textbooks and his childhood paintings are surreal and contort the human form into weird shapes. I v much feel like the anatomy of a body and how it is pieced together/could be taken apart is more important to him than.........idk........the fact that that body is inhabited by somebody. yikes!!! I think you'd v much be walkin on eggshells w/him. bc how do u know when the inspiration might run dry. and ur function will have to change. YIKES.

Ahsoka Show Episode 1 - Spoilers/Thoughts

I have several important thoughts that I will be giving their own posts, but below is a rundown of my thoughts watching the first episode of Ahsoka last night.

As a background for my thoughts on the show going forward: Ahsoka is one of my favorite characters (aside from the Bad Batch). Her and Obi-Wan, equal and forever embedded in my heart. Her journey as Anakin's padawan, the lessons she learns throughout the Clone Wars, her strength in choosing her own path and figuring out who she wanted to be and what she stood for, her consistent pursuit of the light and truth and justice, but from a caring, empathetic, and compassionate heart, are traits that I always look to as inspiration. (My tagline Daughter of Light comes from a pin design of Ahsoka and Morai that the incredible Pinbutlersco created). I have enjoyed Rosario's portrayal of her in live action so far, and have been both eagerly hoping for and also extremely nervous about this show. I don't think there's anything that could ruin her character, but it is nerve-wracking to have a beloved fan favorite in live action when she has never been showcased there in the extent of what she is normally capable of in animation. Plus, the live action shows have been hit or miss lately except for Andor, and my hopes have been lower since Mando season 3 came out. I think I've accepted at this point that animation has a stronger pull on me than live action does at the moment, so that of course will inform some of my reactions.

As for the Rebels characters, I love them a lot. I just rewatched some of the essential episodes and was crying in almost every single one. They just tug on your heartstrings as a little found family almost immediately, along with how essential they are to the rebellion and the ways that the show explores the Force, familial and emotional bonds, and inner struggles. That said, Rebels is not my favorite Star Wars show, and therefore my understanding of Hera, Sabine, Ezra, and even Thrawn, is not as in depth or as emotionally entangled as Ahsoka or other characters. Therefore, if you want to take my opinions on them with a grain of salt, please do so ;).

And of course all of this is simply my personal opinion and reaction to watching the show as it comes out! I don't know yet if I'll end up doing any heavy analyses like I do for TBB but we shall see :)

Alright, all of that out of the way...let's see how the first episode turned out! (Episode 2 will be a separate post bc this is hella long already and you are a gem if you've read this far! <3)

SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT! DO NOT SCROLL IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE EPISODE YET! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

That opening crawl is super cool, and it's not a Star Wars opening without a good pan over an amazing ship out in space.

*sigh* I really don't want to be negative right off the bat, but these New Republic uniforms 💀 come on guys. It's one thing to try and show that the NR doesn't have a lot of resources/is brand new, but you could at least make them look lived in for the universe. It seems like this is the main spot where the length of the budget for costumes was apparently the opposite of a CVS receipt. Idk. Not a great look. And the ranking buttons 😭

Baylon and Shin showing up to free Morgan was obvious but still very cool to see them get the best of everyone on the ship. Baylon already has his hallway moment and we barely know them. Also RIP to Captain Hayle, he had the right idea to not trust them, maybe just not the right idea to go out and meet them.

Interesting that Hayle calls them Imperial "trash". We saw this in Mando season 3 with Dr. Pershing too...how the reintegration of imperial-aligned people back into society certainly wasn't helped by the prejudices of those on the "right" side. No matter how right or righteous you or your cause is, treating others with the same evil you claimed to be fighting against is never okay.

Also also, I still love those ridiculous elongated egg helmets of the Rebellion and the New Republic.

There's a lot of nice little touches, like the burn mark on a guy's thigh from a lightsaber wound or the lock to Morgan's cell spinning as Baylon uses the force to open it.

I immediately thought of the Mortis gods when Ahsoka steps into the temple and begins to unlock the pillars, with the figures and the map etched on the wall. I also appreciate that Dave let this scene take time to play out. Yes also Indiana Jones yes also Kurosawa yes also Treasure Planet.

Capes on assassin droids. Spooky. And did they sound slightly like Kylo Ren's modulated voice? Lol. And Ahsoka's "ahh shit" face when she realizes they're about to set off an explosion is pretty great.

HUYANG! HUYANG! HUYANG!!!! He's BEAUTIFULLLLL. I seriously can't believe how good he looks! It's also not a Star Wars show without a snarky droid keeping everyone in line, (or attempting to) and surprisingly it's not just Chopper. New fave for sure. David Tennant the man you are.

"Let's just say I didn't follow standard Jedi protocol"

I have to admit that I was hesitant about MEW for Hera but I'm liking her so far (costuming, not as much. The contacts and makeup and length of her lekku are throwing me a bit). I was surprised that she assumed Thrawn died in the battle of Lothal.

Ryder Azadi!!! and Jai Kell! So cool to see them. "Get out there and say something." "What?!"

Love the badass entrance for Sabine. The sass in this show is top notch. Also the blend of sound effects and soundtrack is really good, especially in these scenes.

NEED. LOTHCAT. NOW *grabby hands*

Unfortunately the recording of Ezra didn't do much for me. He looked pretty awkward and I would like to see how Eman portrays him in a live scene. I think again the costuming felt off rather than lived in/formed to the person wearing it.

OKAY WHOA HOLD UP NOW. Morgan is a nightsister??? A survivor? That's a rare rare thing. It will be interesting to see where Dave is going with this.

All of Ezra's helmet acquisitions strewn around the tower.

I'll be saying it more times than this, but Natasha is impeccable as Sabine. Both this current iteration of Sabine, where she is mourning and isolating herself, as well as channeling all the badass, artistic, creative, loyal, caring, snarky, cut to the chase versions of her from Rebels.

Natasha and Rosario convey SO MUCH in their silent glances to each other before getting down to business.

I kind of love the domestic intimacy of Ahsoka throwing her cloak over her bunk and grabbing a mug of tea before they sit down. Like they've done this a million times before.

I will comment on the "Master" "I should have made a good Jedi" "force sensitive Sabine?" track in episode 2.

I knew that map was doomed the second Sabine absconded with it lol.

The little "purrup" from the lothcat as it jumps off the table 😻

LOL Ahsoka being so annoyed at being in the Master position instead of being the difficult apprentice herself. Also the obvious guilt she still carries :/ "Sometimes the right reasons still have the wrong consequences." Oooof.

Again, Sabine is badass and incredible. Her athleticism and Mandalorian training is showing through. But girl maybe put on some armor??

Okay, don't take my tone the wrong way here (there will be a separate post about this): I HATEDDDDDDD the lightsaber stab. Hate hate hate. I swear they have got to STOP having people survive lightsaber stabs to the gut area. Just no. Pick any other body part to wound/end a fight with. Qui-Gon and Satine are rolling over in their graves 💀

Finally, I want to LIVE inside those credits ❤️ ❤️ The typography and design and colors are beautifulllll. And the score is of course stunning.

Overall, really great intro, it's amazing to see these characters in live action. A few qualms but I'm looking forward to where this is going.
