I hate being online rn. Already have trauma associated with this time of year and then I'm in poverty too, so hearing ads screaming at me to buy their makeups or other luxury items and "it's Christmas, treat yourself. Buy for a loved one! Spend your money!" When we're in a fucking food and housing crisis and I'm smack dab in the middle of it.

No matter what their lingering feelings are now.]
30th September, Saturday, 9:27pm
Your front door suddenly opened, making you look up from the movie that was playing on the television in front of you. Seeing that it wasn't some stranger entering your house to cause you alarm, you turned back to the movie, simultaneously eating a spoon of rice.
Also, he had called 30 minutes before to tell you he was stopping by. No questions, just a declaration. So you were expecting him.
"Ughhhhhhh." The visitor groaned, falling onto the empty space of the couch next to you. Rolling your eyes, you ignored him but he continued to annoyingly groan.
"Tch. What do you want?" You clicked your tongue. You paused the movie and turned to him.
"Yah..." You tapped his head with the bottom of your bowl.
"How can you just casually eat when I'm in distress?" He asked. You tilted your head, chewing your food before swallowing. You let out a sigh of defeat, reaching to put the bowl down on the table.
"Come here." You spoke softly. He moved immediately, pushing you to lie down and rest his head against your chest.
"Nothing's working out." He mumbled.
"What's not working out?" You probed further, hand coming up to stroke the back of his head.
"I've been camping at the studio for 2 weeks and have not produced a single beat, much less a track or instrumental. I think I've lost my touch." He said. You sighed, his studio work was always something that stressed him out. It was unhealthy for how much of a workaholic he was.
"If you're gonna come here and start speaking bullcrap, I'm kicking you out." You threatened.
"No..." He shook his head, hands coming to squeeze your waist like a child, as if you were really going to kick him out. You hoped he couldn't hear the way your heart lurched.
"Hey, don't sleep yet. Do you want food?" You asked. When you felt him nod, you got up and went to the kitchen.
"What did you cook?" He came up behind you, wrapping his arms around you.
"Fried rice. I was lazy." You explained. You took the remains and scraped them into a new bowl for him. The leftovers were going to be your lunch tomorrow but it's fine.
"Here." You poured flaked seaweed over before handing him the bowl. He sat at the small dining table in the kitchen, eating and watching you clean up. You did the dishes before wiping down the counter and the stove top.
"Your cooking always reminds me of home." He commented. You froze slightly at his words, chewing on your bottom lip. Luckily you were facing away from him that he couldn't see your reaction.
"Don't eat and talk, you'll choke." You forced a chuckle.
"I'm going to shower, can you do the dishes when you're done?" You asked. He nodded, giving you a thumbs up as he shovelled more food into his mouth.
"Slow down, no one is going to take the food away from you." You patted his back.
"Go shower. I'll shower after." He said betwen chews. You hummed and left him in the kitchen, going to have your shower.
Kim Hongjoong, also known as Producer Hongjoong, Songwriter Hongjoong. But before any of those things, you knew him as student Kim Hongjoong, the boy you met during your first year of college. You clicked instantly and became inseparable. He was also the first boy you truly loved.
After a few years of friendship, you both tried dating. It was some of the best moments of your life. One of your best friends was your lover, you practically spent every waking moment with him.
But ultimately, you grew too comfortable with each other, one thing led to another and in the end, you both that it was best for you to part ways.
You regretted acting on your feelings because the relationship only made your friendship awkward and uncomfortable.
If you knew you would end up losing your best friend, you would have kept your feelings to yourself.
When you broke up, you both promised to remain 'friends'. You promised that in times of need, you were both just a phone call away to give the other person some comforting. Hongjoong would come to you, like he did now, and you would go to him.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
"Aein, where's my towel?" You broke out of your train of thought to see Hongjoong's silhouette through the door. One more thing, Hongjoong never got rid of his nickname for you 'sweetheart'.
"Oh, I moved it to be with your clothes. Bottom left drawer of my dresser." You replied.
"Okay, I'll go find it. Thanks!" He walked away. You let out a long sigh, lifting your head to let the shower rain on you, hoping it'll wash away whatever you were feeling. You lightly slapped your cheeks, you needed to pull yourself together.
"Joong, I'm done." You announced as you stepped out, drying your hair with your smaller towel. Hongjoong stood up from the couch. He smiled when he saw you.
"You always look cute in my old shirts. I've always told you that you pull off any style you wear." He complimented.
"I'm literally in pyjamas... Just go shower. I'm going to sleep." You scoffed.
"No! Wait for me!" He protested, running to the shower. You honestly didn't think about it when you pulled the shirt to wear. Most of your closet was curated by Hongjoong anyway, even before you dated.
After doing your skincare, you sat on the bed and scrolled through your social media.
"Ah! That felt good!" Hongjoong came in, tossing his towel aside and diving straight for the bed.
"Joong, you didn't come your hair after you blow dried it. It's gonna be all messy when you wake up tomorrow." You lectured. Hongjoong never combs his hair, you would comb it for him or nag him to do it. Because his hair would get tangled in the morning. He ignore you and laid his head in your lap.
"It'll be fine." He assured, scrolling on his own phone. Your hands habitually came up to pat his head, your fingers combing through his freshly dried hair.
"By the way, did you change your soap?" He asked, still looking at his screen.
"Mhmm, a friend was using it. Some rose and geranium one, I thought it smelt nice so I asked where he got it." You explained.
"He?" He stopped and put his phone down to gaze up at you. You suddenly felt like you were being interrogated, also looking away from your phone to look down and meet his eyes.
"Yeah... Why?"
"What guy uses rose and geranium soap? And how close were you to him that you could smell him?" He asked with a scoff of disbelief.
"To answer your first question, you do. Because you've just used my soap. And for your second question, he was sitting next to me and I noticed. That's all." You replied.
"Right..." Hongjoong frowned slightly, pursing his lips.
"What's the big deal? It's just soap. You didn't complain when you used it." You raised an eyebrow.
"Nothing." He shook his head and turned back to his phone. You stared at the side of his face for a few seconds before going back to your social media scrolling. But Hongjoong's pointed questions and change in tone bothered you slightly. Was he... jealous?
"Joong, you don't have to stress and bother about the studio stuff, alright? I know you'll make it work out, you always do." You spoke softly, wanting to move on from whatever that was.
"You don't know that... My career... is so fickle..." He said with a sigh, putting his phone down.
"You're right, I don't. But forcing yourself to do something for 2 weeks isn't going to help either." You replied.
"What do you think I should do then?" He turned to lay on his back to look at you again. You did the same, putting your phone on the charging dock on your nightstand.
"Take a break." You smiled softly as you let your fingers continue to run through his hair.
"A break?" He tilted his head.
"Yeah. Who knows, you might get struck with inspiration. Don't think about the deadlines, think about the music and let it speak to you." You told him. Hongjoong stayed silent, he was wrong, you did know. You knew everything about the hardships of producing and songwriting because it was one of the things that broke you two up.
"How do you always know what to say, aein?" He smiled softly.
"You'll get out of this rut, just like you always do. Look at all the hits you've produced, I believe in you and your talent. This is just another hurdle you'll jump over." You giggled.
Hongjoong sat up, making you do the same. He laid down on his side of the bed, patting your pillow. You laughed as you laid down beside him.
"Come here." He whispered. You scooched closer, only for him to wrap an arm around your waist and lay his other under your head.
"There. That's better." He chuckled, now practically holding you to his body. Your chest tightened at this closeness.
"How has work been?" He asked, realising he's only been talking about himself the entire evening. Not once had he asked how have you been, even though he crashed your night at home.
"Busy. My company made me take on a new team and it's been grueling onboarding them." You groaned. Hongjoong chuckled, the hand of the arm around your waist opted to lightly brush the exposed skin of your hip with its thumb.
"But I think it's great your company believes in your ability to take on a new team and manage them, alongside your current team." He complimented.
"Thank you." You said.
"There's nothing to thank me for. You're an amazing leader with great work ethic, I've always told you that." He smiled.
"I thought you were just saying it to hype me up." You rolled your eyes, flicking his chest lightly. Of course you didn't do it hard enough to hurt him.
"You're so cute." He laughed and pulled you in to kiss the top of your head. You were both just silent, you were too lost in your head.
"Hongjoong, I-" You looked up to see his sleeping face. You melted slightly, reaching out to hold his cheek gently. Even in his sleep, he instinctively, leaned into your touch.
It took everything in you to carefully remove yourself from him. You tucked his outstretched arm next to him, pulling the blanket up so that it covered him properly. You stared at his sleeping face for a while, lightly patting his side through the blanket. Hongjoong meant so much to you. But what was he to you?
-
17th October, Tuesday, 4:49pm
It has been about 2 weeks since Hongjoong was at your place. When you woke up the next morning, he was gone. All that was left was a note on the counter in his handwriting.
'Thanks for letting me crash and feeding me so last minute, aein. Have a great day and weekend.
Also, there's iced coffee in the fridge and a bagel sandwich in the paper bag next to the toaster. Heat it up before you eat it!
- Hongjoongie'
Hongjoong was a terrible cook. But he still always tried to make sure you were fed. You were both workaholics so you took it upon yourselves to always remind the other to eat.
According to his one social media post, it seemed like he took your advice, going to the countryside for a few days to get away from the studio. Of course, you knew that he probably still brought equipment there to work but now there was a change in scenary.
"Oh, you're back." Seonghwa walked in after having seen the lights to his best friend's studio on. He had an iced tea on hand, not liking the bitterness of coffee.
"Mhmm." Hongjoong hummed, resting his head on his hand as he looked at the screen before him.
"So..." Seonghwa started.
"What?" Hongjoong stopped, turning to see the taller male who was now seated on the couch. He stood up and went to the mini fridge, grabbing a can of cold coffee to drink.
"What was with the sudden vacation? You don't usually take sch last minute studio leave." Seonghwa asked with suspicion.
"Just needed a breather. Wanted the outdoors. Looking for inspiration." Hongjoong shrugged.
"And did it help?" To which Hongjoong nodded to but then shrugged again, it was iffy. He didn't know for sure if it helped him write new music but it definitely helped him clear his head and forget about the stressors of work for a bit. Just like you said, it helped him focus solely on the music.
"I definitely feel more clarity in my thinking. Overall, it was a good suggestion for me to go." Hongjoong said without thinking. But Seonghwa raised an eyebrow at that.
"Suggestion? Someone suggested for you to go?" He clarified. Hongjoong cleared his throat, not expecting his best friend to pick that up.
"Yeah." He was brief in his answer as he sat back down in his chair and pulled himself back to his desk.
"(y/n) adviced you to go, didn't she?" From the way the shorter male stiffened slightly, Seonghwa knew he hit the nail on the head.
"We're still friends, Hwa. She tried to help me get out of a music rut, that's all." Hongjoong was unnecessarily defensive, especially when Seonghwa hadn't said anything.
"So you went to meet her to seek comfort from her. Just like how she does with you." Seonghwa spoke slowly, hoping Hongjoong would realise how that sounds. But he didn't get what the taller was getting at, nodding in agreement.
"Friends comfort friends." Hongjoong shrugged.
"Right, cause you two are just... normal, everyday friends." Seonghwa scoffed. Hongjoong frowned.
"I need to work. I'll see you at dinner later." He put his headphones on, shutting Seonghwa out. With a sigh, Seonghwa stood up and grabbed his drink before walking out of the studio.
Once the door closed, Hongjoong sighed, plopping his head down onto the desk. He groaned as he sat up, grabbing his phone.
"CHEERS!"
He straightened up when he saw your social media story on his personal, private account. You were out with your friends, Mingi, Wooyoung and San last night. Your posts were a mix of reposts from your friends and your own.
"Wooo!" You had a slightly shaky video with Mingi's arm around your shoulders, holding you to him. He was excitedly jumping up and down, making you jump with him.
"You're making me spill my drink!" You squealed, which only made the mischevious Mingi do it more.
"Ah, you're so cute." Mingi chuckled at your outraged reaction, pressing his forehead against your temple with a smile.
"Hug me!" The next was a video Mingi posted of San, obviously drunk, reaching out for you to hug him. At first, you shook your head, which only made San more whiny.
"Hug me~!" He glued himself to your waist like an attached child to his mother.
"I'd rather let him hug me than a random stranger. Again." You shook your head, taking a sip of your drink as you patted San's back.
"This girl. She always doesn't want to go out with us but when we make her, she has such a good time. Doesn't she?" Wooyoung appeared, giggly and also drunk. He held your chin to make you face him, a teasing smile on his face. You rolled your eyes and slapped his hands away.
"Yah-" Your shouts of protests were cut off as the video cut off and went to the next story. It was a report from a video that Wooyoung had taken in selfie mode.
"She's mine, okay?!" Wooyoung pulled you in, pressing his cheek against yours, squishing your faces together.
"You're mine!" He then proceeded to give you a loud kiss on the cheek.
Hongjoong had to turn his phone off after that. Mingi, Wooyoung and San were your friends a lot longer than he was. But he always felt out of place with them.
Mingi was always flirty with you and Wooyoung was always physically touchy with you. San as well but Wooyoung was more.
Out of respect for your longer friendship, he never mentioned anything to you. He was worried it might upset you or make him seem untrusting and/or insecure. And you never liked clubbing but the trio always convinced you to go with them.
Hongjoong brought it up once, telling you that you shouldn't feel pressured or forced to go. However, you assured him that you didn't feel forced at all and you trusted the 3 to keep you safe.
They weren't bad friends, they made you happy. They were there for you when you and Hongjoong broke up.
They were also the ones, along with Seonghwa, that disapproved of you and Hongjoong's 'arrangement' of continuing to seek comfort from one another.

26th October, Thursday, 8:16pm
"Joong...?"
The moment he heard your saddened voice, he sat up from his bed, pausing his music and putting his laptop aside.
"Yeah, aein? Are you alright?" He asked. It took a while for you to reply, he heard the shaky sigh that escaped you. It was barely audible but he still heard it.
"Ugh... Can I come over?" You seemed hesitant with your question.
"Of course." He replied almost instantly, contrary to your question, without any hesitation. Hongjoong had about 30 minutes to make his place 'presentable' to you. To be honest, he hadn't been home much, always camping at the studio or Seonghwa's place, which was much nearer to the studio.
*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
You still remembered Hongjoong's door passcode. It was his mother's birthday. You trudged in, kicking your shoes to the side as Hongjoong shuffled to you.
"Ugh..." You groaned, leaning against him with your forehead against his chest as he held you up.
"What's wrong, aein? Are you okay? Feeling sick?" Hongjoong asked.
"Work is shit, my parents are shit, life is shit." You complained, like a disgruntled teenager going through puberty. Hongjoong chuckled, guiding you to the couch. He tucked you under his arm.
"Alright, slowly. Tell me what happened?" He coaxed, his other hand coming to stroke your hair.
"Work is always shit, you know that. And my mum keeps trying to set me up on blind dates. The guy tonight was so... he was terrible." You groaned. Hongjoong went quiet. Whether it was on your own accord or not, he had no idea that you were back out in the dating scene.
"What guy ends a date so early? You called me at like 8pm." Hongjoong asked, looking at his watch.
"He didn't end the date. I told him I was leaving and just stood up... walked out of the restaurant..." You mumbled. That made Hongjoong burst out laughing.
"Aein! You walked out on the guy?"
"What? Would you have preferred I stay?" You frowned. Hongjoong stopped laughing at your words.
"Of course not." He hugged you tighter. To cheer you up, Hongjoong ordered you takeout. You weren't going to eat his possibly poisonous cooking. So he ordered rose tteokbokki with cheese.
"Why don't you go shower before the food comes? I've already turned on the heater." Hongjoong suggested. You nodded and pushed yourself to stand up.
"Way to tell me I smell." You scoffed with a playful smile before walking to the bathroom. You already knew your way around his house, just like how he knew his way around yours. But he still followed you, grabbing a clean towel for you while you took one of his hoodies from his closet.
"Thanks, Joong." You kissed his cheek and went into the bathroom. Hongjoong stood there, in the middle of the room, stunned.
"Calm down, Kim Hongjoong." He slapped his cheek before leaving his room. He closed the door behind him to give you some privacy before going back to the living room.
*DING DONG*
"Delivery." There was a muffled voice. Hongjoong went to answer, tipping the delivery guy.
"Thanks." He bowed his head and closed the door. As he got two plates and two sets of cutlery out, he paused for a moment. When was the last time he had someone over? It was probably you.
"Food's here?" Your voice sounded from the room. Hongjoong let out a sound of acknowledgement and you came out.
"Gosh, I'm starving." You said, drying your hair with the towel.
"Did you not eat at all, aein?" Hongjoong chuckled as you slid onto the bar stool, opposite him. You shook your head, accepting the cutlery and plate he handed to you.
"I left after eating two breadsticks, Joong. It was so bad, my parents were already tearing up my phone on the way here so I turned it off." You waved the blank out device, setting it on the table. You and Hongjoong dug into the food.
"You always know what I need, Joong." You giggled, physically melting and letting out sounds of happiness.
"Don't eat so fast, aein. No one is going to take it away for you." He chuckled, reaching out to pat your head with a soft smile on his face. You smiled back.
After eating the food and sharing a can of beer, Hongjoong made you some tea, knowing you always liked to have it after eating things that may cause you to feel bloated in the morning.
"Luckily I still have your full boxes of tea here." He said, handing you the mug.
"Thank you." You received the warm mug and took a sip, you were careful not to spill any on his bed.
"Were you working before I came?" You asked, nodding over to the laptop that had been abandoned at the end of the bed. The screen was still open, showing a chat between him and someone named 'Hyejin'. It was obviously a girl's name, making your stomach sink a little. But you looked away, ignoring it.
"Just some touch up work." He quickly picked it up and closed all the open windows. He tucked the device under his arm, going to charge it at the desk.
"So, who is Hyejin?" You couldn't help but ask in a low voice
"Just a friend I met. Seonghwa introduced us." Hongjoong replied. Internally, he was confused at your change in demeanour.
"Ah, I'm so glad I could take the day off tomorrow." You changed the subject, taking a long sip of tea before putting it on the nightstand beside you. Hongjoong laughed and got under the covers.
"Come." Just like at your house, Hongjoong waved you over. You moved in without hesitation, leaning against his touch. He tucked your head under his chin.
"It'll be okay, hmm? Don't be bothered by work and what your parents do." He rubbed your arm while hugging you.
"Thanks, Joong. I feel like you're the only one that will always believe in me." You closed your eyes.
"You should believe in yourself too, aein." He whispered.
When Hongjoong woke up, he was greeted by your sleeping face. You were calmly and safely tucked against his side, sleeping without a care in the world. Hongjoong smiled softly, stroking your head before getting up to close the curtains properly. You were always annoyed when even a little bit of sunlight came in to wake you.
*RINGGGGGG*
Hongjoong scrambled to get his phone, running out of the room so you wouldn't wake up.
"Hello?" He spoke softly even though he was a good distance away from the bedroom. He was still worried that you may get woken up by the slightest noise.
"Where are you? You're not coming into the studio today?"
"Oh, Hwa. No... I don't think I am." He said, leaning against the wall to look out the window.
"Why? You don't usually forget to cancel studio time unless it's an emergency. Please don't tell me you're going on another spontaneous holiday or something."
"I'm not... I'm just... busy..." Hongjoong scratched his head, not really sure on what to say. Seonghwa was silent on the other side.
"Oh my god. You have someone over, didn't you? Good on you, Hongjoong! Was she good?"
"Please don't speak about her in such a way..." He mumbled, annoyed that you were being mentioned in such a crude way, even if Seonghwa didn't intentionally mean it, not knowing that the person that as over was you.
"The person... It's (y/n)... isn't it...?"
"I-"
"Save it, Hongjoong. You don't have to explain it to me. Please just tell me you didn't do anything stupid that you will both regret."
"No, none of that. She was just having a hard time and I'm returning the favour. I comforted her like how she comforted me when I was struggling. That's all." Hongjoong explained.

6th November, Monday, 10pm
You stood outside of the club. It was closed for a private event but when you showed your card to the bouncer, he opened the velvet rope for you to go in.
"You okay?" A hand came up on your shoulder. You looked over to your plus 1, Jeong Yunho. He offered to come with you so you don't get lost and you didn't want your usual 3 friends to know you're here, they might actually tear the place down. But you were sure Yunho might tell Mingi at some point, they're best friends.
'HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONGJOONG!'
Was displayed everywhere. Yes, this celebration was to ring in Hongjoong's birthday at midnight. Hongjoong had sent you an invite and you asked Yunho to come with you for moral support.
You could have said no but deep down, you knew you couldn't. You didn't want Hongjoong to think there was something wrong.
"Sorry, where are the presents?" You asked someone that was dressed in a server outfit with a nametag.
"Follow me." He waved you over. Yunho walked behind you, guarding you against all the moving bodies. You were sure Seonghwa organised this party for him.
"Wow." Some presents looked huge and some weren't even wrapped, just presented into their luxury label paper bags. Compared to your small present, it seemed like it would get lost somewhere.
"Don't doubt it." Yunho whispered, knowing you. You sighed and placed the paper bag down.
"Shall we get some drinks?" He asked. You knew Yunho would take care of you if you had alcohol. He wasn't drinking, wanting to be sober to take care of you and because he was driving. You went to the bar to order yourself a cocktail.
Meanwhile, you hadn't noticed that Hongjoong was staring at you from the moment you walked in. His eyes narrowed in on Yunho, he wasn't part of your usual trio.
"Hongjoong! Are you enjoying yourself?" Seonghwa came up to him. Hongjoong nodded, making Seonghwa followed his gaze.
"You invited her?!" Seonghwa exclaimed.
"She's still a friend, Hwa." Hongjoong mumbled. Seonghwa face palmed, seeing the male by your side, he knew Hongjoong was going to be preoccupied the whole night.
"Please enjoy your own party." He sighed. Hongjoong took a sip of his drink, turning to his best friend.
"I am enjoying the party, Hwa. Thank you for organising it. I've spent the past two hours greeting people." Hongjoong cringed slightly. He appreciated Seonghwa's efforts but preferred a smaller, quieter, more intimate celebration. When Hongjoong saw you get up and try to head over, he straightened up.
"Go, go." He shooed Seonghwa away as you approached. Seonghwa rolled his eyes and walked away. But he did cross paths with you.
"Hi, Seonghwa." You gave a friendly smile. Seonghwa smiled softly, pulling you in for a hug.
"Hi, (y/n). How have you been?" He asked. Seonghwa didn't hate you or dislike you in anyway, like your own friends, he thought you and Hongjoong continuing as friends like this wasn't healthy.
"I've been good. What about you?" You blinked up at him.
"Great. You know the usual, taking care of Hongjoong." He chuckled. He could feel Hongjoong burning holes into the back of his head.
"I better let you go greet the birthday boy before I'm 6 feet under." Seonghwa patted your head before walking away. You tilted your head in confusion but went to Hongjoong.
"Aein, you made it." Hongjoong smiled softly as you came into view. You were beautiful, as you always were. You were dressed in a black dress with a slit going up the side of your thigh, the bodice hugged your curves nicely.
"Of course. Happy early birthday, Joong." You giggled, wrapping your arms around him. Hongjoong's scent always comforted you.
"Thank you." He closed his eyes, savouring the hug.
"You came with a friend?" Hongjoong asked when you both pulled away. You both wished the hug could last longer but it would just make the whole thing awkward.
"Yeah, just someone to make sure I get home safe in case I go overboard with the drinks." You said shyly, rubbing the back of your neck.
"Aein, I'll always make sure you're safe. You know I won't let you be in any sort of danger." Hongjoong frowned slightly. You didn't need Yunho to take care of you, he could do it, ma
"I know. I... I just want you to enjoy your party, don't worry about me." You said, squeezing his hand with a reassuring smile.
"Hongjoong! Happy soon birthday!" A girl appeared behind you. You blinked in confusion.
"Thanks, Hyejin." He replied. This was Hyejin, the girl that Seonghwa introduced to him. Now you felt out of place, like you were the one that wasn't supposed to be there.
"Enjoy your party." You wished. With another brief hug, you left him, going back to the bar where Yunho was waiting for you. You didn't want to leave his side, Hongjoong didn't want you to go too.
"Whenever you want to leave, just let me know. I'm here only for you." Yunho told you kindly. You nodded with a smile, taking a sip of your drink. Honestly, Yunho also disapproved of you coming but he'd rather come with you than let you come here alone. You insisted you were here to celebrate a friend's birthday, that's all.
"Alright everyone! Let's countdown to the birthday boy's birthday!" Seonghwa said in the mic, standing with everyone on the stage. You saw Hyejin standing beside him with a big smile.
"10... 9... 8... 7..." Everyone counted down with their drinks in hand. Hongjoong looked at you as you counted down with the crowd.
"1! Happy birthday Hongjoong!" Seonghwa yelled into the mic with everyone else raising their glass for the toast.
"Happy birthday Hongjoong!" Hyejin wrapped her arms around Hongjoong, giving him a peck. The crowd cheered at her action while Hongjoong's eyes widened at the action.
"Hyejin..." He was stunned.
His eyes searched for you frantically. You were still there but Hongjoong knew, your genuine smile was gone.
This was your fake, forced smile. Your mask of a smile.
He watched as Yunho leaned in to whisper something to you. You took the last sip of your drink and nodded, placing the empty glass on the counter. Yunho held your hand to help you off the bar stool and led you through the crowd to the exit of the club.
"(y/n)..." Hongjoong whispered.
"Enjoy the rest of the night everyone! Thanks again for coming to celebrate the birthday boy!" Seonghwa said to everyone before getting off the platform.
"Why would you do that?" Hongjoong frowned at Hyejin, who looked stunned at Hongjoong's reaction.
"I... I'm sorry, Hongjoong." She hung her head low.
"We're not dating, Hyejin. We just met! And you just do that in front of all my friends?" Hongjoong hissed. Seonghwa, who watched the exchange, sighed.
Yes, Hyejin shouldn't have done that. But he knew that Hongjoong was more bothered that you saw Hyejin kiss him.

15th December, Friday, 6:02pm
You sighed tiredly, getting up from your desk. There were too many year end wrap ups to do but you wanted to get them done before your Christmas leave started. While Yunho promised he didn't tell the other 3 about what happened at Hongjoong's party, it was suspicious when Wooyoung suddenly suggested a vacation.
It would be good. You wouldn't have to go to your stuffy family Christmas celebration, it was good to get away and you wouldn't be near Hongjoong.
But speaking of, you haven't contacted each other since the night of the party. Maybe it was for the better.
You were not dating, he was only a friend, so you shouldn't feel hurt or bitter. You told yourself that you should be happy for him, you knew he was a good partner, he would make Hyejin happy.
'I'm downstairs. - Yuyu'
'On the way. - (y/n)'
Yunho wanted to take you out to dinner tonight. You were clear in expressing that you were not ready for a relationship, no matter what your feelings were. But he assured you, it was just dinner.
"Yuyu." You called out to him. He straightened from his leaning postured against his car, smiling softly.
"Hi, (y/n). I hope you had a good day at work." He wrapped his arms around you to engulf you in a big bear hug, or what you would call a puppy hug, even rocking you from side to side. You giggled, putting your own arms around him.
"I told you to dress warmer." He tsked, taking the scarf off his neck and wrapping it around you.
"I'm fine." You waved him off. But he shook his head, opening the door to usher you into the warm car. Once you were seated, he closed the door and went to the driver's side.
You didn't notice the car that was parked a little behind Yunho. Hongjoong looked at the exchange between you and Yunho.
"Damn it." He slammed his fist against the steering wheel. He hadn't contacted you, he was scared.
He was scared of what you were going to tell him, he didn't want you to wish him the best. But he couldn't take it anymore so he wanted to speak to you physically.
But after witnessing that, if there was something between you and Yunho, he shouldn't be in the way. He should wish you both the best right?

25th December, Monday, 2:34pm
The boys decided to rent a cabin in a forest village of Kurokawa in Kumamoto, Japan. It was cold like Korea but the forest scenary was beautiful and there were Christmas lights set up everywhere, which was very pretty at night. You were seated next to the heater on the balcony, admiring the view.
*BEEP BEEP*
'Merry Christmas, aein. - Hongjoong'
You stared at the message for a while, chewing on your bottom lip as you decided if you wanted to reply. You knew if you wanted to let go of Hongjoong, you needed to stop contacting him.
'Merry Christmas, Hongjoong. - (y/n)'
When was the last time you called him 'Hongjoong' and not 'Joong'? Even when you broke up, you called him 'Joong'.
"Hey, beautiful. The boys wanna go snowboarding and-" San suddenly appeared. He seemed to have glanced at your phone because he frowned, taking it from your hands.
"Sannie." You tried to take your phone back.
"Come, Mingi wants to build a snowman with you." He said, tucking his phone into his pocket. You nodded, slipping your hand into his and letting him lead you out. Being with the 4, you knew you had to put Hongjoong at the back of your mind and enjoy yourself.
'How's Japa|'
*delete*
'You decided to travel for Christmas? That's gre|'
*delete*
Hongjoong groaned out, tossing his bed on the side. He really wished he was home where his home studio was and he could work. But he came to visit his parents for Christmas, only bringing his laptop.
"Hongjoong ah. Santa Claus can hear your sighs all the way in the North Pole." Mrs Kim clicked her tongue as she came in.
"Santa Claus isn't real, omma." Hongjoong scoffed, sitting up. Mrs Kim laughed and sat beside Hongjoong.
"Whatever it is you're going through, my dear son, you'll get through it. Sometimes, things just aren't to go our way, no matter how bad we want it to. But that doesn't mean it's the end. There's still so much to look forward to, you never know what life will throw at you." Mrs Kim smiled, rubbing Hongjoong's back.

7th January, Sunday, 10:13am
Hongjoong gulped as he stood before your front door. When you had suddenly texted him to meet, he grew nervous. You always called him and instead of asking to go over, you asked him over to yours.
*DING DONG*
Here goes nothing.
"Coming!" You replied, feeling your heart race as you approached your front door. You felt a lump in your throat, one that was too big to swallow. Seeing Hongjoong when you opened the door just made things worse. This was a bad idea.
"Hey, Hongjoong. Thanks for coming so early." You smiled, stepping aside for him to enter your house. There it was, you dropping the nickname and calling him 'Hongjoong' like an acquaintance.
"Hey. No worries, at all. I hope you had a good holiday." He returned the smile, reaching over to hug you briefly.
"I did. It was a nice getaway. What did you do?" You asked as you closed the door.
"Visited my parents for a bit, celebrated Christmas and New Years with extended family." He shrugged, removing his shoes and sitting on the couch. He was so stiff and awkward.
"Oh. That's nice. How are they?"
"Good." Hongjoong replied. You handed him a glass of iced coffee, holding your own tumbler in your hand before sitting down next to him.
You both felt a little deja vu, it was negative, making your stomachs sink and your hearts race. The last time you 'talked' like this, you were in Hongjoong's apartment, sitting down and ultimately ending the conversation in tears and with a break up. You gulped, trying to find the words.
"It's okay. Breathe." Hongjoong said, leaning forward and placing a comforting hand on your knee. It didn't help, you didn't want him to be nice, it only made things harder.
"I think I know what you want to talk about. That our friends were right, weren't they? We couldn't continue as friends like we thought." He spoke.
"Hongjoong... I..." Your bottom lip quivered.
"It's okay." He rubbed your back.
"I still care about you, Hongjoong. I really do... It's just... It's hard. I feel like my heart gets hopeful that we can go back to being something more but we can't." You looked at him, seeing tears in his eyes.
"At least I know I'm not the only one that feels that way. We tried to make it work but we still couldn't." He said.
"I'm sorry." You cried.
"Aein, don't be sorry. There's no one at fault. Unknowingly we've both been holding each other back that the other can't move on." He pulled you into a hug to soothe you.
"We both liked the comfort too much that it became too comfortable, similar to our relationship. Being just a phone call away from each other hurt more than it helped." You said softly. Hongjoong nodded in agreement, wiping his fallen tears.
"I don't want to lose you, Joong." You shook your head, subconsciously using the nickname. Hongjoong felt the same, he had already lost you as a lover, now he was going to lose you forever.
"I don't want to lose you too, aein."
"I shouldn't have confessed my feelings. If I didn't, we would have still been friends. We wouldn't be here." You said.
"No, please... Please don't say that like you regret it. Our time together was the best time of my life, I don't regret it at all. So please don't." He begged you, choking on a sob.
"And if you didn't confess, I would have. My only regret is not cherishing you more when I had the chance." He forced a small smile.
"It's not solely your fault, a relationship needs effort from both sides." You chuckled. You and Hongjoong just stared at each other, sharing a short moment of silence.
"Before I go, I just want to clarify. There's nothing between me and Hyejin. I didn't lie or hide anything from you." He blurted out.
"You don't have to explain it to me, Joong. It's fine. You're free to move on and love whoever you want. I know the girl you end up with is going to be the luckiest girl in the world." You smiled. Deep down, Hongjoong wished that girl was you. He already knew it was going to be a while until he can actually move on.
"Well, I can say the same for you. I wish you and Yunho the best." He said. You didn't correct him that you and Yunho weren't dating because was there a need to now?
"Thank you for everything, Joong. You gave me some of the best memories I've ever had." You pulled him in for a hug.
"Thank you for loving me, no matter how difficult I am, (y/n)." He cried softly and closed his eyes, squeezing you against him. You shook your head.
"Don't cry." You whispered, cupping his cheeks and wiping his tears with your thumbs. Hongjoong smiled tearfully, holding your hands in his. The both of you chuckled through your cries.
"Take care of yourself, hmm?" He said, rubbing the back of your hands. You nodded obediently.
"You too." You smiled softly.
You wanted to tell him, that if he ever needs you, he can always call you. But you said the same thing to him when you broke up, which led to the current predicament that you're both in so you kept quiet.
With that, Hongjoong reluctantly pulled his hands away from yours, walking down the hall with a hunched posture to hide his cries. Looking down at your hands, they suddenly felt cold as Hongjoong took his warmth away with him, as well as his heart.

Thank you for all of your comments and opinions, I love you all! I've figured out what I'm going to do now, yay! Sorry if I forgot you on the taglist I woke up to a bunch of messages n notifs so I'm not 100% sure if I got them all, I double checked but if I didn't, I apologize. Since the taglist is getting longer than I originally thought it would I have moved it to the bottom.
Tumblr media
The week had gone by slowly due to your extra chores, luckily today was your last day of doing Neteyam's so you'd go back to your normal handful tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, it happened to be the day Aonung's little gang decided to terrorize you.
As you woke up earlier to go and tend to the Ikrans, they had decided to get up early as well. You were extremely exhausted more than usual this morning, so your temper was even worse. The air felt tight, suffocating you, giving you the feeling that today just wasn't going to be your day.
" Oh look, five is up!" One of Aonung's friend's announced to the group, their little nickname for you. You originally thought they were just stupid and actually thought your name was five, but you realized it was most likely because of your fingers.
The waltzed over, one pulling your tail as you bit the inside of your cheeks in frustration." Leave me alone." You grumbled, ears back and tail going crazy in annoyance.
" Aw is someone shy." One laughed at you and tried to grab the basket out of your hands." I'm trying to be nice and hold this for you." He cooed, talking to you like you were an incompetent child.
" Leave me alone!" You snarled, you temper had reached its limit and you smacked him across the face. Everyone in the group was quiet as you glowered at the boy you just slapped.
" You're gonna regret that." He hissed taking the basket from your hands and dumbing it at the edge of the sea. You watched as all the fish you, Lo'ak, and Neteyam worked so hard to get, dissipate immediately.
They laughed at your face, shock and anger on your features." No, you're gonna regret that." You scowled at the boy who just laughed. Until you brought your foot up, kicking him in the chest. The other boys stood for a moment of shock, and one even looked a bit worried. They probably didn't expect you to fight back, but you've never been one to cry over something you could just beat the shit out of instead.
Before anyone could grab you, you lunged at the boy on the ground and punched in several times in the face. One of the boys pulled your tail back and you hissed, kicking at whoever was behind you.
The boy on the ground composed himself and pulled your ear before shoving sand in your face. Sand went into your eyes, and you cursed at the burn.
They began to pull you backwards and the boy in front of you stood up. " You're stupid for attacking friends of the chief's son." They laughed like the whole thing was funny and they pulled you on your knees." Even if they did know we did this, you're the outsider not us."
They laughed and you glared up at the boy. You smirked, if you were gonna get in trouble over just one punch, why not go all out? You grabbed an unsuspected boy who was squatting next to you and pulled his head down, forcing his head down on your knee painfully.
" You're stupid for fighting someone with combat experience." As soon as the hand on your right arm loosened you grabbed the boy hard, forcing him on his knees, grabbing his hair, slamming his head into the ground.
They all lunged to hold on to you, you scooted back and quickly kicked the one holding your tails knee as forcefully as you could. He let go and shouted at the abrupt and painful contact of the heal of your foot and his kneecap.
You got up immediately as the boys stumbled to grab you, but you were too quick for them. The first one to come at you got an uppercut to the stomach, then a second one to his chin.
The other one swung at you, actually managing to catch you off guard and land a punch to your face. As his armed passed your face, you grabbed ahold of his forearm and upper arm, bringing it into brutal contact with your knee.
He screamed and you were positive you at least dislocated his elbow. The one you kicked in the knee put you in a headlock behind you and one of the boys in front of you landed a punch to your stomach.
You elbowed the boy holding you in a chokehold in the ribs and his grip loosened a bit. You bit his arm drawing blood and he immediately let go. The taste of blood filled your mouth, your own or his you couldn't tell.
Another one came at you, and you gave a nice roundhouse kick to his face." Fucking bitch." You wiped your nose that had been bleeding from the punch you got in the face.
" What is going on here!" You all stopped and turned around, Ronal standing there with Tsireya by her side. " She attacked us ma'am." One of them lied through his teeth and you scoffed." Why would I-"
"Enough!" She shouted, grabbing you by the arm and started to drag you towards the clusters of pods and you sent a glare behind you. The boys just smiled and waved as you disappeared from their sight.
" JakeSully." She called out as she reached your Marui and you put your head down in shame." I found your daughter in a psychical altercation with a group of boys." She averred, you looked up and all eyes were on you. Kiri started to get up to come check on you but Neytiri forced her to sit back down.
Your father walked over, furious." Thank you for letting me know, I'll deal with this immediately." He grabbed your arm forcefully pulling you towards him.
" Out!" He demanded and all your siblings immediately left." Jake." Neytiri stood next to him." I was defending myself is that a crime!" You snarled, shaking his grip from you.
" Yes! Here it is because we need to have a good reputation in order to stay here!" He yelled at you and Neytiri grabbed his arm." Ma Jake, it was self-defense." Your mother defended you and Jake sighed rubbing his face.
" Just, apologize." He laid out flatly and your mouth fell open." Me! They hit me first!" He rubbed his palms against his eyelids." Look, I know it's not fair, but if we get kicked out there is no other place we can go to." Jake sighed placing a hand on your shoulder.
" Apologize and move on. Clear?" He raised his eyebrows at you as you glared to the ground." Clear?" He pressed; annoyance written in his tone." Crystal." You spat through your teeth and you shook his hand off of you.
"Ma Jake." Neytiri began to talk to him, most likely lecture him. You didn't listen, you wanted to leave. Why should you apologize.
As you were looking at the ground, a shoulder bumped yours." Out of the way." A gruff voice huffed, and you looked up to see Aonung carrying fish in his hand." Oh." he breathed; he wasn't paying attention either, he thought it was one of your brothers." Here." He handed you a basket of fish.
" To replace the ones my idiot friends lost." He hissed out friends, as if he didn't even consider them to be. You nodded and began to walk away; he grabbed your shoulder." You're bleeding, clean yourself up." It was more of a demand but before you could question on why he even cared he walked away.
You shrugged, perhaps he was just embarrassed of his 'friends'. He still seemed to dislike you, but the tension was less so with you than with your other siblings. Almost like he liked you, just a bit.
You shook those thoughts out of your head, driving yourself to go down the path you were trying to earlier.
Luckily you got to the Ikran safe with no assholes trying to gang up on you, finishing your chores you went to find Aonung. You didn't know if it was his or not, so you just assumed it was. You had wiped off the blood from your face with water and the reflection from the water when you were feeding the Ikran.
You hoped you got it all out, but you weren't one hundred percent. You looked around for Aonung, you didn't spot him, but you could see the tip of his sister's head behind a rock in the water.
You walked over and climbed on top of the rock, peering over it. You saw Tsireya as well as Aonung talking, he was more in the water than her that's why you couldn't see him.
" I came to return your basket, Aonung." You stated, holding it so he could see it." Just leave it there." He mumbled and Tsireya gave you a wave." Good morning, I heard what happened-." She began but you interrupted her.
" It was my fault no biggie." You set the basket down and left, heading towards your families pod to go eat your late breakfast.
" Aonung, you need to talk to those friends of yours." Tsireya lectured him and he rolled his eyes, looking away." They beat up on a girl for no reason!" She raised her voice slightly, giving him a disapproving look.
" If you saw them, she got back at them pretty well." He grumbled, looking towards the area you disappeared." You need to get over whatever petty feelings you and your friends have towards them." Tsireya was upset, very upset that Aonung was brushing off an incident like this so easily.
" They're strangers, we don't know them!" he argued back, he huffed." They could bring their war here, Tsireya." He glared at his sister, and she rolled her eyes." You and mother are both paranoid." She left, getting out the water.
" Unlike you, I'm going to go make our new villagers feel comfortable and safe in my presence." She jabbed at him, and she walked away, she wasn't the type to get upset, so he definitely didn't know what to say.
-
Later that night he couldn't sleep, he genuinely felt bad that his so-called friends attacked you like that. He was also surprised by your ability to hold your ground against at least four boys. Of course, his feelings were not wanted but he couldn't stop himself from being a little guilty.
He stood up, getting out of his hammock quietly and leaving for some fresh air. He walked the beach for a little while, until he saw you sitting on a rock by yourself.
You missed your home; this wasn't your home. During the night, you would sneak out of your bed and sit on a nearby rock that faced the spot where you first arrived. You sighed, rubbing your braids in frustration.
Your mother had just finished doing your hair before bed and rubbing your hands through your clean and neat braids made you feel a little calmer. Then you heard a splash next to you, scaring you and causing you to fall in the water.
You held in a squeak not trying to wake up anyone and get in trouble. When you resurfaced you saw a wet Aonung had taken your spot and smirked down at you." Did I scare you?" He whispered in a mocking tone, and you rolled your eyes getting back on the rock. He noticed tear stains down your face, but he didn't mention them, a bit afraid to make the conversation even more tense.
The rock was small, so you were rather close to Aonung when you climbed back up, legs practically sticking together. You didn't really care to be honest; he was fine when he shut his mouth, which wasn't often if you're honest.
" What do you want?" You broke the silence and he shrugged." Was bored, came to bother you." He said matter of fact, and you rolled your eyes again." Were you watching me or something, creep." You scowled at him, and he scoffed.
" You wish I was that into you." His ears back as he grumbled." Me? The person you called a 'five fingered freak' the first night we met?" You cocked your head." Hmm, yes what is more desirable than that? I just love when you say mean things to me." You grabbed your heart dramatically, placing your head on his shoulder and looking into his eyes.
He scrunched his face in disgust and pushed you. Not hard enough to knock you off the rock but pushing you to sit up off him. A silence fell over the two of you and you stared straight into the darkness of the sky. From the corner of your eyes, you could see him continuously glanced at you.
You huffed in annoyance, your brows furrowing." What? In love with me?" You teased and he scoffed turning his head away, but he didn't get up from his spot." Aww you aree." You continued to tease, and you moved onto your knees poking his cheek.
He hissed at you in annoyance grabbing your wrist and pulling it from his face." If your so annoyed at my teasing, leave." You offered, looking into his eyes." This is my rock; I can be here whenever I want to." His jaw clenched; cheeks tinted with blush from embarrassment.
You laughed at him; he immediately covered your mouth." Sh, you're gonna get us in trouble." He hissed and you finished up giggling before grabbing his fingers and wrist to move his hand from your face. " Why are you out here on your rock?" You asked in a teasing tone, but you were genuinely curious.
He pulled his hand from yours and his ears went back. He tensed up uncomfortably and you stared at him waiting for him to respond." Are you going to continue to stare at me?" He scowled and you nodded." Give me an answer and I'll leave you alone."
He sighed, his shoulders dropping but still tense." I felt bad for the incident this morning." He admitted, much to his annoyance you smirked at him." You felt bad for me??" You placed a hand on your chest, dramatically acting surprised.
You were, you never expected him to apologize for anything. You bumped his shoulder." You suck but I don't blame you." You grinned at his annoyance, and he pulled his hand out of yours.
" 'Kay, now leave me alone." He demanded and you scoffed returning to your original position facing forward. You both stared forward for a while, the air around you becoming peaceful. When he was like this you didn't mind being around him, alone he's fine but his friends make him a demon. He was still annoying of course and was rude, but he was quieter and calm.
He was Tonowari's son, but he took mostly after his mom. Her first impression being rude and aggressive towards your family, just how Aonung has been towards all of you since you got here. Moments like this though, made the qualities he got from his father more noticeable.
You hummed and got up to leave, he eyed you for a moment." Wait." he called out and you turned around, raising a brow." Desperate for more of my attention already?" You giggled but you soon became quiet when you saw how serious his face was.
" I am serious." He grabbed your hand and pulled you down next to him." I really do feel bad for what they did. Ganging up on a girl like that is a shit thing to do."
" Even for you? King of mean." You grabbed a piece of his hair and pulled it; he swatted your hand away." Do you ever take anything seriously!" He raised his voice in aggravation and it was your turn to shush him.
You placed a finger on his mouth as he went to reply with some snarky remark." I do, just not things that have already happened." You bit your lip." You actually didn't do anything wrong this time, but it was nice of you to apologize for something for once."
He bit his tongue to hold back a rude comment he was about to make." You know you're not so bad to look at when your mouth is shut." You confidently stated and he blinked at you. Surprised by your relaxed attitude, he's never seen you so calm before.
he decided at this moment he wanted to know why you were on this rock, his rock according to him. " Why did you come out here?" He asked, he thought he knew the answer that you wanted to get away from all of the drama and tension surrounding you right now.
You sighed, looking back towards the view." I just miss my home." You bent your head down, your hair blocking his view of your face." I hate it here." You admitted in a whisper, if he wasn't holding his breath for your reply, he wouldn't have heard you.
He felt bad now, he never took into consideration that none of you actually wanted to move. You had to, if he was in your position, he definitely wouldn't want his family in the middle of a war. He cautiously placed a hand on you shoulder and you didn't shake it off. You leaned into his touch a bit.
He didn't respond, I mean what could he say to something he knows nothing about. He's never dealt with war or being the main target of their attack. He's never had to move the entirety of his life and never witnessed death as he's positive you have.
" Ya know..." He started and you looked up at him, waiting for him to continue." This rock isn't actually mine." He shrugged, trying to lighten to mood a bit, you chuckled rolling your eyes." Yeah, no shit."
You guys continued to talk for almost the rest of the night, and he actually was starting to like you. Accepting your differences wasn't so hard, especially when it belonged to a beautiful and strong girl such as yourself.

I think it'd be funny if we made Kakashi even younger.
Can you imagine Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura finding out that Kakashi is only a handful of years older than them?!
I mean, with how little we see of his face it's extremely difficult to tell how old he is...
It was one thing when he was prepubescent and short with an unbroken voice, but once his voice dropped and he reached an average adult height... How would anyone be able to tell?
He's strong, highly ranked, mature for his age, and the proper height for an adult with an adult voice. Anyone who didn't already know his age would be liable to mistakenly assume he's older than he actually is, especially with the grey hair.
And it's not like it's out of the realm of possibility for a teenager to be a jounin sensei—take Minato, for example. He was, what, seventeen? And as talented as Minato was, he's nothing compared to Kakashi when it comes to rising through the ranks at a young age.
I'm pretty sure Kakashi broke literally every record there was when it came to "youngest ever [blank]". Academy student, genin, chūnin, jōnin, ANBU, ANBU Captain... Sure, Itachi eventually beat him in one or two of those, but at the time Kakashi was the sole record-holder; There'd never been anyone like him before.
If we just modify Kakashi's already contradictory timeline... Unimportant info below about the details for just how this could potentially work in canon!!
—WAIT. FORGET ALL THAT.
If you want to read my calculations as to how this could canonically work you may direct your attention below, however I have just come up with a far better and far simpler and also quite possibly both funnier and sadder idea:
Time-travel, but not in any way you're thinking...
Most people assume the reason why they didn't hear much of Kakashi's exploits over the years is because he was in ANBU and so everything was Top Secret and extremely covert...
But what if the real reason was because Kakashi had somehow been sent about a decade into the future? Hence explaining how he could be a teenager still when he was once the Yondaime's student.
Also possible: Kakashi was somehow held in stasis for the past decade—sealed, perhaps? Trapped? Or maybe the work of a foreign shinobi's jutsu (kekkei genkai?) that took about a decade or so to break/deactivate...
Or, my personal favorite:
He was investigating the Uzushiogakure ruins and got caught in one of their defensive seals — one that would seal him for a maximum of ten years, with the intention of giving Uzushio shinobi as much time as possible to deal with whatever intruder(s) got caught in the trap.
Without Kushina or Minato or any other Uzumaki seal experts however, deactivating the seal would be basically impossible — luckily, the seal was set up so that once time ran out Kakashi would be automatically released.
And he was! Ten years later, with little baby Naruto all grown up and almost ready to be placed on a genin team — his genin team.
AFFOREMENTIONED DUMB CALCULATIONS FOR HOW THIS COULD POTENTIALLY FIT INTO THE CANONICAL TIMELINE BELOW 👇
It's probably boring!! You don't have to read it!!
⚠️ You have been warned!! ⚠️
(It's mostly just me brainstorming, honestly...)
Genin at five, chūnin at six... Then he stalls at chūnin for a while before eventually advancing to jōnin at twelve (wherein Obito "dies").
He's approximately thirteen when Rin is killed leading to him joining ANBU, and then fourteen when Naruto is born and the Kyūbi is unleashed on the village, causing Minato and Kushina to sacrifice themselves.
In canon, he is then twenty-six years old when he becomes Team 7's jōnin sensei...
For starters, I vote we cut those six years of chūnin limbo before Kakashi becomes jōnin, dropping him to about twenty-or-so.
Then again, this is fanfic—who cares about canon timelines?
If we put him on the hyper-speed fast-track...
4: Academy student
5: Genin
6: Chūnin
7. Jōnin (Obito dies)
8. ANBU (Rin dies)
9. Naruto's birth (Minato & Kushina die)
Is this ridiculous? Yes! But who cares?
9+12=21
Hm... That's not right.
Alright, this is getting a bit annoyingly complicated.
Even if I downgrade Naruto to eleven (because for a long time I was convinced for some reason that Naruto was eleven while the rest of his peers were twelve, and I still have absolutely no clue where I got that idea from) that would still make Kakashi about twenty. Hm...
Ugh, I'll figure this out later. Can't we just hand-wave it?
—No wait, I have an idea:
While modifying his canon timeline to make him younger is a hassle and a half, the fact remains that until we saw Kakashi Gaiden we didn't actually have any details on his backstory...
In other words? The beginning of the series managed just fine without it, so why don't we just throw it out entirely?
Afterall, this fic is about jōnin-sensei Kakashi—the details of his traumatic childhood are irrelevant, and it's not like early fans had that information to work with anyway.
Naruto is canonically younger than Sasuke (who was a baby during the Kyūbi attack) so we shall put him at eleven to give us some leeway.
Now let's say we wanted to make Kakashi somewhere around sixteen to eighteen during canon—that would require him to be five to seven years old when Minato dies.
Now let's compress his timeline some more:
Considering the Konoha 9 all attended the very first chūnin exams after they graduated, I don't see any reason why Kakashi couldn't do the same—and unlike them he's a prodigy so it's basically guaranteed that he'd pass. (And that's assuming he didn't get a field promotion...)
Give him up to a year to become jōnin, and then have him join ANBU almost immediately after.
Some months later, Naruto is born and the Yondaime dies.
To compress it further, I am making his graduation even more ridiculous:
Academy student at three, genin and then chūnin at four, jōnin and ANBU at five. God, can you imagine a five-year-old ANBU? That'd be terrifying. Naruto is born around the time he turns six, and eleven years later Kakashi passes a genin team for the first time and is made a jōnin-sensei at seventeen, just like Minato-sensei was.
It'll take Team 7 a while to realize that, however.
...WAIT A MINUTE.***
Why am I even bothering to promote him prior to Minato's death? Am I, perhaps, an idiot?
Minato becomes his sensei as soon as he graduates to genin at five years old, but before that Kakashi spent a lot of time as his apprentice and they bonded. Shortly after Team 7 is formed the Kyūbi attack happens and Minato dies — the how doesn't matter, so don't worry about it.
The war is over so instead of Kannabi Bridge they go on some other dangerous mission with the same results, except this time the reason Minato isn't there is because he's dead.
They send some other inadequate chūnin or jōnin in his place, but they promptly get killed early on in the mission, perhaps at the same time that Rin gets kidnapped.
Kakashi is chūnin at this point so he naturally takes charge, despite being a five or six year old and Obito being — I don't know, twelve? Significantly older.
Obito dies, then Rin, and this time it's the stupid Sandaime that sticks Kakashi in ANBU like he's an annoying unwanted child that he wants to keep out of sight and thoroughly occupied — at least, until he needs a jōnin sensei for the Kyūbi's Jinchūriki and the Last Uchiha...
So, final version:
Five years old when Minato dies and Naruto is born, and about five or six years old when Obito and Rin die and Kakashi gets stuck in ANBU, followed by eleven years of Naruto growing up while Kakashi's in ANBU makes him... About sixteen to seventeen years old when Kakashi becomes Team 7's jōnin sensei.
To Kakashi, this feels almost poetic. (Same age as Minato-sensei was...)

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seconds felt like hours, minutes felt like days, and hours felt like weeks.
You sat in front of your laptop with so much anxiety and uncertainty. It had probably been only a couple hours but it fely like forever and it didn't felt good at all. It didn't help that you couldn't sleep much the other day not just because of the damn email looming in your mind but also because of your stupid ankle that decided it wanted to have a big fucking rave with all the pulsing and the heat that caused the area to twitch. So you were anxiety riddled and in pain and to be quite honest, a lot pissed that neither San nor your work friends were answering your text. You wanted to ask about what happened the other day and also if any one of them knew what the email was about but of course you didn't get any answer. It was like being kept in the dark about something major that was affecting everything and everyone.
The email was so sudden and you were worried if it had anything to do with what was happening at High Breed. Who would've guessed that the day you took a day off from dealing with your ankle, some major shit happened to the office and then you suddenly got a hearing from HR. All you could do at that moment was simply to convince yourself that you would be okay and that it was just protocol. Nothing big, nothing to worry about.
As soon as the clock chimed 9, you saw that the Head of HR and the General Manager got into the meeting room with their camera on and San in attendance with his camera off. Your heart beats harshly against your chest in worry, noticing how the meeting was attended by high ranking staffs so there was a chance that the issue at hand that somehow involved you was an absolute big one. But despite your gut screaming that something was wrong, you sucked the anxiety in and just think positive thoughts. Maybe they wanted to tell you that you passed your probation early and the reason it involved high ranking officials are because you worked directly with the CEO's son so they took things seriously.
Here's to wishful thinking.
"Good morning, everybody," you greeted, smiling brightly to mask the nerves bubbling in the pit of your stomach. Unfortunately your greeting was met with silence, not even a single sound of acknowledgement. Chills ran down your spine from dread and embarrassment, the situation just became much much worse just from that exchange and your confidence almost slipped completely away. Luckily, the Head of HR spoke up but in a very uninterested tone, "Good morning ladies and gentlemen, we will begin our disciplinary hearing momentarily," the words she said made your eyebrows furrow in utter confusion, "Excuse me, disciplinary hearing for what exactly?" You cut her off which was completely ignored as she kept rambling on about who was present in the meeting. Next to speak was the General Manager who cleared his throat and tipped his glasses down slightly, "If you had been more patient, miss, we would've explained that we conducted this meeting to inform you that as of today, you are put on a temporary unpaid administrative leave until the issue you have caused be resolved."
If your eyebrows were furrowed before, now they're knitted so tight a sweater had formed. "Whoah, I don't understand, what issue did I cause??" You asked, obviously not knowing what they were talking about. "Okay, we'll bite," the General Manager said which you took notice of and didn't feel great about because the mannerism indicated that they didn't believe you about something. "It has come to our attention that you have been sharing personal information about Mr. Choi San to the media which is a complete breach of your contract as Mr. Choi San's personal assistant," he said. You waved your hands in front of the camera to stop the guy from talking more because the confusion wasn't resolved, it doubled. "Okay, I really don't know what you're talking about because I've never talked to the media before, I never shared my boss's personal information, not even with my friends," after the words left your mouth, you realized how flimsy of an excuse that was and those people could've easily misunderstood you as making up excuses or just simply disregard you. Then again, they could take your explanation masked as a flimsy excuse as suspicious behaviour despite you only telling the truth.
"As crude as it sounds, we do not care about what you talk about with your friends outside the office but this particular action has affected the company negatively especially since it affected Mr. Choi San," then the Head of HR clicked on something from her screen and presented some pictures, "Now, miss, do you recognize these?" Your eyes barely scanned through the file but you immediately took notice of it. "It's my company database account," you answered, still not understanding what their point was. "What about this?" She then showed the next picture and you saw your account information at the top and a bunch of numbers and letters listed under it and next to them are other numbers that look like specific dates. "My account and random numbers? I'm not sure," by now you have a bit of an attitude and it's mostly because of the fact that you had just been accused of something and you didn't appreciate it.
With a raise of his eyebrows, the General Manager leaned forward in his seat and sighed, "This, Miss (y/l/n), is proof that your account has been accessing important data and files from the company database that detailed Mr. Choi's private information including his medical report which if it turns out to be true, is a direct violation of the privacy law and you can be penalized," he stated firmly. "Wait," you tried to interject, wanting a moment to take the revelation in and made sense of the situation. Unfortunately, the General Manager kept going on about what you supposedly did and which files you accessed. Words thrown at you floated in your brain and none of them stuck, you couldn't process the explanation as your brain was trying to remember when and why you opened those files. Sure, some of the files that were on the list you actually accessed yourself but you remembered that it was under the direction of other superior officers. Files like San's most recent medical record that San himself requested to be sent to his family physician, or files like the company's pharmaceutical records that include sales, testing, production dates and locations, issue report, etc. that was sent to you by the lab supervisor for you to compile so San won't have a hard time looking them over. But other things like employee attendance, employee login timestamps and information, company finance report, patents, MFDS clearance, legal reports, and much more files that were under the record list, you couldn't remember ever accessing nor do you even know how and where to access them. Despite the defence bubbling in your head, your were frozen, you couldn't say the words you wanted to say because at that moment, you were being bombarded by two people while San was watching.
Why wasn't he saying anything?
"...That being said and with the evidence stacked against you, the company has decided, as we said earlier, to put you in unpaid administrative leave until the issue is resolved," the Head of HR said. As it seemed like they were about to conclude the meeting, your body reacted as quickly as it could and you called out to them. "Hey, wait!" thankfully, it seemed like it managed to catch their attention momentarily, "Don't I get to defend myself first? This is a lot to take in and you can't just make a decision for yourselves," it was hard for you to keep your voice stable because all you want to do was scream at them for accusing you of doing something so ridiculous but you knew full well that if you let your emotions get the best of you, they wouldn't take you seriously. The General Manager sighed before answering you, "Yes, in a less dire situation, we would've let you defend yourself, but as this issue has become public and seemingly uncontrollable, we have to take immediate action to prevent further issues from arising." To make matters worse, the Head of HR just HAD to comment in her faux low voice that you were pretty sure she wanted you to hear. "You should have thought of that before doing something so reckless," and before you could've said something, she called out to San, "Is there anything you wish to add, Mr. Choi?"
Almost embarrassingly quickly, your eyes flit to San's account and you saw him opening his mic. Seconds pass awfully slow as you waited, hoping for him to defend you, telling both people who seemingly had it against you that the company shouldn't be rash, that they should take a moment to assess the situation better before putting you on leave and treating you like a criminal. You believed that he would come to your aid because he knew you wouldn't have done that to him. After all, you have been covering for his ass and you have done nothing but a good job in the office as his assistant. Not to mention the fact that you let him fuck you whenever he wants which shouldn't be the main reason but it kinda felt like it should. So why would he assume that you even wanted to hurt him?
But all hopes you had were lost when your screen suddenly returned to your browser, showing that the meeting has ended without any more addition. Without San saying anything to defend you.
"He... Ended the meeting..." you muttered to yourself in disbelief. He didn't even say anything, he didn't even have the decency to say something to you, something comforting or just something that acknowledge the fact that you were in that situation and it was such a shit situation. He just dismissed you like that.
Your chest tightened and your hands shook. Emotions mix together, emotions you can't even discern, and emotions you've never felt before.
Standing up from your desk, the first thing you thought of was to get a glass of water to calm yourself down. Your injured ankle forced you to limp to the kitchen and you suddenly chuckle to yourself, thinking about how ridiculous your luck was for giving you an injury and putting you in such a difficult and absurd situation. You try to make sense of things but at the same time you didn't want to think about it just yet, you didn't want to have to deal with the issue as quickly but how could you not when it affects you greatly? Does this mean you can't go to work for the foreseeable future? Does this mean you're replaced? You accepted the job in the first place because you wanted something to do and now you were being denied of your own decision. With this happening, do you want to stay? Can you stay? You're willing to be everyone else knows about this issue so it's safe to assume that even if you did come back to work, say you were proven not guilty which was the truth in the first place, you will be a pariah. Those who knew about the details and believed that you were the kind of human being who would do such a thing would not treat you nicely. And apparently, one of those people is the boss who you've been fucking. Working for him would be different after this issue no matter the truth. It was too much for you to handle alone and you didn't want to have to handle it alone. But what could you have done? Contact your friends just because you're in a shit position? Is that how you want to treat your friends?
The water you poured for yourself felt heavy like lead down your throat and your body couldn't help but want to expel it. You coughed and coughed the liquid out and while doing so, you accidentally knocked your glass over and it shattered. In between fits of coughs and blurry vision, you saw the mess you just made and suddenly the pain in your chest doubled.
What are you going to do now?

Obrumbratio Scintillae
Chapter 1:
Nico hated his life. He wished he was never born. He didn't know where he was going but he didn't care. Everyone he loved was gone. Why even be born if everything is going to be taken away from you? If you have no one? It happened days ago and it was Christmas now. He watched people come and go with bags of decorations and treats and cards and gifts. It made him tear up thinking about celebrating with his mom and sister. But he held himself back and continued walking. His legs were tired after who knows how long and he sat behind a dumpster in an alleyway where there weren't as many people.
Where he could properly cry without anyone hearing. He needed his family. He got mad at one point and kicked the dumpster. And froze when he heard a "hey".
Then the top opened, and he got scared, pulling out his sword. Some other kid came out from inside, curly hair that was poorly cut, pointy ears like an elf, dark brown eyes that looked like they could start a fire, and skinny and smelly. He looked almost 9. Nico remembered the sword and put it away as quickly as he could.
"Are you a hallucination too?" The boy asked, and Nico raised a brow in confusion.
"What?"
"The sword. Disppearing out of nowhere. I was just seeing that wasn't I?" Nico silently cursed but thought about his question.
"Um... No. It was real." Nico said, and the kid hopped out of the trashcan and started walking to him. Nico backed away.
"What are you doing?" He asked, backing into the wall, and he placed a hand on his before retreating it back in shock.
"Jesus fuck you're freezing!" He yelled and Nico noticed how he was fine. He wore no actual jacket, just a hoodie and some jean shorts.
"Says you." He said and the kid looked down then shrugged.
"Touchè."
"Whatever. I don't have time for this." Nico said and started to walk away. The other looked hurt.
"Wait!" He yelled, following him. "You sure you don't want to stay with me? We don't know each other, but you're a runaway, right? Like me? We can get to know each other. If you're okay with it." Nico wasn't sure. He seemed like a nice enough kid. Sure, he's always tapping or playing with his hair as if he had a constant need to move, and he smelled like garbage, but Nico has smelled worse. Besides, he wasn't any different with the moving part. Not always for him but a lot. Besides, the kid was small. An easy target. Nico couldn't just leave him alone. He sighed.
"Alright. What's your name?" He asked and he smiled wide, reaching out a hand, obviously holding in his excitement.
"Leo! Leo Valdez." He said and Nico took his hand.
"Nico Di Angelo. Nice to meet you." Leo squealed and hopped on the balls of his feet before hugging him. Nico rolled his eyes but hugged back, both of them hiding tears.
They spent the rest of the day with Leo giving Nico some tips about the streets. About finding street money to save up, how to trick people, how to just go along with gangs by being the jester until there's a chance to escape to avoid being beat to a pulp by them.
They stole from stores during the day, running like mad men if they got caught even though it wasn't much. Except that one time when Nico filled his jacket pockets. That was a good day. They spent nights holding each other for warmth as they told things about themselves before falling asleep.
But they got colder every day. Leo noticed Nico holding back shivering sometimes. Nico shared his jacket sometimes, but Leo hated it because he knew Nico needed it a hell of a lot more. Today was so bad they had to look for shelter but couldn't find anywhere they weren't kicked out of. It was getting worse. Nico shook so bad his breathing was shortened, and he could barely walk.
Leo was scared shitless. He was cold but this was just three weeks later. Leo was desperate. He found enough sticks and started a fire. Luckily, Nico was completely out of it, so he didn't notice at all. But the fire didn't last long because of how small the sticks were. Leo pulled him into his lap for warmth as he shook, not knowing what else to do.
Fuck it. He thought and felt the tingling in his hand. He needed to save his best friend. He needed Nico. The fire prickled his fingers and he felt tears in his eyes as the memories flooded. Then he looked at Nico.
The only exception. He thought and lit it completely. Nico nuzzled his head in his shoulder. There was no telling how scared Leo was. What if it wasn't enough? What if it was and Nico leaves him behind? It started to be the first one. Leo felt tears in his eyes lighting his other hand on fire. Nico shivered and struggled to breathe, and Leo sobbed.
"Don't leave. Don't leave me, please don't leave." He begged quietly. "*Por favor, no te vayas, te necesito. No puedo hacer esto sin ti, por favor. (*Please don't leave, I need you. I can't do this without you, please.)" He cried. He didn't notice the man approaching.
Not until he touched his shoulder. Leo flinched and put the fire out in a panic before he realized and started it again, making the man flinch back. He wanted to say something to him but his mind was racing so much, he just cried harder in fear. Nico was dying, he was cold and hungry, and someone came and saw it. They saw him. What if they attacked him? Took Nico from him?
"Hey hey hey it's okay. It's okay. I don't want to hurt you. I just want to help you and your friend." He said, crouching to his level. Leo shook his head. Too much was happening. He wanted to trust him, but he knew nothing about this guy. He learned not to trust strangers two years ago, at 9.
"You're hysterical right now. I get it. Your friend is hurt and I'm a stranger."
"H-how will I know... you won't... call the..."
"I've been missing for a while. Look it up. Luke Castellan." Leo calmed himself down and looked at Nico. He didn't know what else to do. Nico was dying and someone was offering help. He reluctantly agreed, and Luke smiled. He pulled out a yellow square and gave it to him.
"It's called ambrosia. It'll help keep him alive until we get there." Luke said, and Leo made Nico eat it. When he swallowed, his breathing slowed down a bit, and he opened his eyes a little. Leo laughed in relief and hugged him before letting Luke take Nico in his arms. He tried standing, but his legs were weak. Luke held out an arm, and Leo rolled his eyes but let him carry him anyway, across from the shivering boy. Leo grabbed his hand to comfort both of them.
"It's okay. He'll help us." He reassured when Nico looked at him, hoping he was right. He didn't pay attention to where they were going, just made sure to keep Nico alive. And he was getting tired. He tried forcing himself to stay awake, but he was so tired. So... tired.

Tucker enters an inventing competition with his newly finished Ghost Suppressor. Unfortunately, the non-Amity Park judges don't recognize its value until they see first hand just how helpful it is.
---
Ectoberhaunt day 9: robot
"A three out of ten?" Tucker said in shock, looking down at the paper the judge had handed to him. "Why is it a three out of ten?" Tucker looked up at the judge, whose face was stone cold. "You all said it yourself, it's the best feat of underage engineering this contest had ever seen!"
"While it may look technically impressive," the judge snuffed. "...it is completely impossible to verify your claims. Furthermore, it does not fill the brief."
"It totally fills the brief!" Tucker protested. "I use this thing, like, every day back home!"
"I'm sorry, but I fail to see how you could possibly use a 'ghost suppressor' every day," the judge replied. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have other entries to score. Ones that actually meet the qualifications."
Tucker gripped the paper with his score on it almost hard enough to tear it. "Dumb non-Amity Parkers. Don't understand just how useful this thing is." He turned back around to the "Ghost Suppressor" he'd entered into the contest. Tucker had first built it from one of the Fenton's Specter Deflector's; it was a useful device, but its electric shocks and limited range made it much less user friendly. Especially when that user happened to be a physically inactive best friend of a half ghost. His new and improved Ghost Suppressor was able to detect ghosts in a radius, and dissuade ghosts from using their abilities through a much more humane means: obnoxious, remixed, Box Ghost declarations of fear. (It did not work against the Box Ghost himself, but that was ok. No one needed help dealing with good ol' Boxy.)
He'd brought the Ghost Suppressor (her name was Rebecca) with him to school to show off to Danny and Sam, but Tucker's long term friendship with Danny had infected him with the terrible Fenton luck. Skulker had decided that that was a wonderful time to bust through the wall during lunch, activating the Ghost Suppressor in front of the entire student body. And the lunch lady. And half of the teachers.
Luckily, it had been highly effective! (Danny transforming to lead Skulker away may have been an additional deterrent, but there were definitely a number of statements about that "infernal cardboard cretin sticking his nose where it didn't belong" so Tucker counted it as a win.) His invention had been effective enough, in fact, that Mr. Falluca had immediately started bombarding him with questions, the main one being "Would you be interested in joining a highly competitive statewide robotics competition?"
Tucker's answer had originally been a resounding "No." After he heard that there was one hundred dollars of prize money on the line, along with an all expense paid vacation during the school week? Tucker simply had his priorities in check.
Which led him here, to the Illinois's capital, Springfield, at the Junior Inventors Competition, getting his incredibly helpful invention absolutely ribbed on by uneducated judges who didn't have to deal with ghost attacks at least twice a day. Tucker picked up the Ghost Suppressor, which looked a little bit like a radio, and turned it around in his hands. "I'm sorry that they don't see your talent, Rebecca. You deserved more than this." He sniffed and wiped away a tear. "We both did."
Rebecca flickered to life, and the beginning beats of Tucker's own remixed track "Fear Me!" started to play. Tucker looked down at it in shock for a moment, before looking around the large building frantically. Rebecca wouldn't act up on him for no reason. Somewhere, there was a ghost.
The wall only a few feet away from Tucker's booth was blown away in a shower of splinters and debris. Luckily for him, it wasn't one of the more subtle ghosts. That would've been a pain to deal with.
"Behold! The master of all things wired, Technus, is here!" In fact, it was one of the least subtle ghosts Tucker had ever had the misfortune of meeting. Most of the crowd began  to panic, running wildly towards exits and under tables. It had been a long time since Tucker had seen such a complete failure of ghost attack evacuation techniques. Most people in Amity Park had it down to a science, when they evacuated at all. It wasn't uncommon for the more common, less harmful ghosts to be dealt with by anyone. (Boxy, for example.)
Over the sound of the panicking crowds, Technus continued his monologue in normal Technus fashion. "The Great Technus heard through his extensive network that there was to be a gathering of all of the greatest technology created by the youngest geniuses of your time! When I heard that such a technological treasure trove was gathered here, I knew what I had to do! I, Technus, must become master of it all and integrate it into my already expansive collection! Now, cower before the might of-"
Technus's already loud and obnoxious voice was drowned out by the familiar sound of an even louder, more obnoxious voice, this time with some mediocre dubstep behind it. Rebecca had finally made it to the beat drop of "Fear Me."
Technus turned from his place in the air to meet Tucker's eyes. Tucker waved. Technus sighed. "I see that I was not the only technology wizard who heard of this place. And I see you brought that... thing with you."
Tucker didn't bother trying to yell over the sound of Rebecca. Technus might have the special ghost gene of "yell really loud" that they all seemed to have, but Tucker didn't. Instead he just nodded.
"I fail to see why you would want to bring a reminder of that crazy cardboard caretaker with you everywhere, but I get enough of him in the Zone. I'm certain that there will be another chance for I, Technus, to amass this technology when I am not haunted at every step by that ." Technus shuddered, then turned invisible, presumably flying out of the hole in the wall he had made and back to Amity Park.
The remaining panicked people began to calm down, with many of them turning to stare at Tucker in various states of awe, confusion, and fear. One of these individuals was the judge, who had taken refuge from the attack (Tucker was hesitant to call it that, honestly) underneath the neighboring booth.
"So, now that you've had a live demonstration, would you care to reevaluate my point total?" Tucker asked, holding Rebecca out in front of him with a smile. He couldn't wait to show his parents the first place ribbon he was about to win.

GENDER REVEAL + BIRTH STORY
Yes, I said GENDER REVEAL! Hayden and I were blessed with a honeymoon baby! We waited until the last few weeks of the pregnancy to find out the gender... we probably won't be waiting that long again if we do another. We got so many gifts from everyone that we will only end up needing to buy boy clothes later on!
Tumblr media
As you can see, Hayden and I were both wrong. I did wear some pink so maybe I could get away with being right somewhat lol. Are you eagled-eyed? Hayden couldn't find any blue so he wore his suit from our wedding. I couldn't help but start crying. At that moment, all I could think was seeing her and holding her in my arms. Truly all I can do is praise the Lord for this blessing he has given us so quickly.
Tumblr media
Shoutout to my wonderful sister Lilah for the photos and also for planning this reveal for us. She used the upstairs of her bakery for the sets and redid the downstairs to fit us all. She wore pink so maybe I should have guessed pink. She's never been wrong even while growing up. Her fiancé wore blue so we couldn't tell who was right.
Tumblr media
This room used to be the old storage room for the bakery but they've since moved it into a bigger room. The walls were already pink leaving it a great room for a baby girl reveal!
Tumblr media
Look at this wonderful set she put together! Not to forget the cake they both made for us! Look at my handsome husband, Jesus really blessed me with exactly what I prayed for all those years. Spoiler alert he is an incredible dad. He keeps her busy when he gets home from work letting me make dinner and relax. We worked out a great schedule where I make dinner and eat and then I can feed our baby girl.
Tumblr media
I guess I should stop beating around the bush and finally get to the birth story! To start, there are no pictures to go along with this part. Afterwards, looking at the pictures though they are amazing I do not feel comfortable sharing that much of my body online {aka your creator didn't feel like taking them}. I started having pretty intense and close-together contractions around 4:30 a.m. Luckily, my midwife lives only less than a 3-minute drive away. By the time she checked, I was already 4 centimeters dilated. I felt most comfortable using a yoga ball when I was not I was laid out on our bed (with plastic laid out to help minimize the amount of laundry). At that moment it felt like days but at 9:26 a.m. Amethyst Faith Snark was born. Praise the Lord for the birth going as smoothly as it did. I couldn't have done it without Hayden by my side. He kept just asking me if I needed anything and would immediately let me squeeze his hand during contractions. During really bad contractions he would pray for me right then. (Also another big thanks to my wonderful sister for helping around the house for a bit even while she plans her wedding!)

20 Questions For Writers
I was tagged by the lovely @takadasaiko!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I just finished posting my 238th fic! It's one of my few longer ones, so I've been putting the chapters up one at a time.
Cupcakes and Kisses, a Bucky/Darcy bakery AU, and behold, a moodboard!
Tumblr media
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
830,043
3. What fandoms do you write for?
MCU almost exclusively, though I did post one Harry Potter fic awhile back, and I've got a couple WIPs for other fandoms that may never get posted.
Tumblr media
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, and I love doing so! The reader feedback is one of my very favorite parts of fandom, because they get to tell me what they liked, and I get to be super happy about that. Often times a reader will notice something I didn't even put together in my own writing, or they will love a line that I personally thought was amazing, and nothing beats that! It's just a circle of love, and I live for it.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
This one is definitely the saddest, because there is no After.
The Price We Paid, in which Tony activates a Coffin Protocol in the suit, which is exactly what you think, featuring MCD.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I mostly write fluff and shenanigans, so really, you could pick at random and it would probably be a super happy ending.
Though I think I could recommend several from my Iron Family series, since most of those are fix-its.
Tumblr media
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
I have once or twice, but that is something I do not tolerate anywhere in my fandom life. I have anon disabled, and I moderate comments, because this is a fun space for me. Fandom is where I go to be excited about these adorable little blorbos with my fandom friends, and hate has no place there. Neither does condescension or meanness, so I have absolutely no problem with deleteing that from my life.
9. Do you write smut?
Wouldn't you like to know.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I don't think I ever have, but I have definitely read it and enjoyed it!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, actually, @newnewyorker93 and I had a collab fic stolen. Luckily one of our readers spotted it and it was taken down.
I Went to the County Fair and All I Got Was This Alpaca is the fic in question, and it has alpaca-snuggling, so I highly recommend.
Tumblr media
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I know I've given permission at least once, but I admit I don't recall if it did get translated or not.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Many times, and I love it! Writing is so much easier with a writing buddy! I'm always open to a good collab.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Pepperony. I just... I just love them. I love a lot of ships from a lot of fandoms, but Pepperony is the one that I've been with the most. The most fanfic, the most interaction with other fans, the most feels.
Tumblr media
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Well, I never say never with this kind of thing, really. It often takes me years to finish something, but I have finished a good number of things that did in fact take me years to get from idea to fully formed and written fic.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Definitely dialogue and one-shots. I cannot plot for the life of me, so I largely stick to what I'm good at, and I'm happy there. (This is where co-writing is amazing, because other people can plot when I can't!)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've done so several times, but it's usually single words or phrases that I've trusted Google Translate for. Which I know can be sketchy, so I try to limit that.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The one I'm still writing for, the MCU!
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Definitely can't pick a favorite kid, but I think I do have one that I've reread the most.
Save Another Life (It Will Be Worth It) is a Bruce-flavored remix of How To Save A Life (It Just Might Be Yours), in which the Winter Soldier finishes a mission with baby Tony Stark in tow, and then raises the baby as his own while his conditioning falls apart.
In that fic, there were several cameo appearances by other Avengers as kids, and Bruce was the saddest one. When a couple readers had questions and comments about it, it sparked the remix in which Bruce gets saved too. Made a moodboard for it too!

Whumpril Day 9: Held Down/Bruises/"Who Did This To You?"
Fandom: Star Wars The Bad Batch
Warning: Violence
Summary: A story of how the regs treated Tech when they were younger.
Tech stared at the reg that held him to the floor. The floor was cold and hard and the reg was harsh and judgmental. The fight that had broken out wasn't long but wasn't short. Tech's googles laid broken on the ground. Blood spilled from his split lip and nose. The regs hands were bloody from the landing blows he had given the other.
Grabbing Tech's head, he shoved it into the ground. Tech struggled to get out from underneath the clone. His body was in so much pain. Friends of the reg watched and laughed. The struggle continued as the clone beat his 'brother'.
Thinking of what to do next Tech moved to the side slightly which surprised his attacker. Despite his condition, Tech moved out from underneath the clone and stood. One of the other boys grabbed him and had him pinned to the wall almost immediately after he stood.
Tech breathed heavily and waited to figure out his next move. The regs were stronger than him. They would have to leave him alone eventually so for now he gave up and let them tear him apart. Fighting felt useless. He would just have to deal with the injuries given to him.
Once the regs had had their fun they let him go. Tech slid down the wall they never let him leave and stayed there until he felt safe to get up. He stood and grabbed his googles. Looking down at them there was a small crack in the glass. He sighed and started to walk back to his barracks.
Back in the barracks, Tech started to take care of his injuries. He stood up and walked over to the table that some bandages rested on. Then Crosshair walked in. "Tech?" He walked over to his brother. Going to grab a bandaid he brushed his brother's arm. Tech flinched and moved back slightly.
Crosshair stopped and took a look at the other. "Who did this to you?" he sneered.
"Some regs."
"Well no shit. Do you know which ones?"
"I do."
"Well then who did this to you?" Crosshair started to raise his voice.
"No. You will fight them."
"Tech, tell me who did this to you?"
"No, you will fight them. I do not want you to fight them."
"Fine, I won't fight them. Now who the fuck did this to you?" The frustration took control of his vocal cords and the boy yelled at Tech.
Tech flinched at the noise. He pulled his arms slightly upwards, "I'm sorry!" He yelped, panicked.
"Fuck" Crosshair whispered. He hadn't meant to scare him. "Fine. Don't tell me."
Tech relaxed and looked at his brother, "I'm sorry. I know you won't hurt me. That was a response to the attack from earlier."
"It's fine."
Later the two would meet with their other two batch mates for training. When asked what happened Tech simply explained that some of the other cadets had beaten him up. He said that he didn't want to talk about it and luckily neither Wrecker nor Hunter pressed.
The tight blacks and armor rubbed against his skin, hitting every bruise. It hurt to move, it hurt to breathe; but Tech had to ignore the pain for the sake of training in the same way he would ignore it for the sake of a mission. The bruises stung as reminders that he wasn't strong enough. How could he be a soldier if his supposed comrades hated him? And for what; because he was different?
The batch never failed a training exercise and this one would be no expectation. The pain from moving around so much caused Tech to almost collapse at the door on the way out. Wrecker tried to help him up but the pressure on the bruises hurt more than standing.
Back in the barracks, Tech laid down on his bunk and tried to get some rest. Laying on his back startled the boy so he laid on his side. He would heal but for now the fear of the regs was to stay. The batch watched him closer; not that he'd ever know. Tech was an easy target, he wasn't the strongest and he didn't always understand what was going on until too late. They loved their brother dearly and hated to see people using his differences to pick at him.

Always Black Cats And Bitter Coffee:
Chapter 2 [part 1] : night of writing
[Next -> CHAPTER 2: part 2]
Tumblr media
Warnings: mentions of vomiting and nightmares (very vaugly at the end), secret keeping, nothing else, I think
Word count: 2k (2473)
Tumblr media
The bell of the Café door chimed, causing Blue to drift his eyes to the door, not wanting to stand up until the last possible moment because of the cat currently resting in his lap. Luckily for him it hadn't been a customer, not that he really expected there to be - it was 9 am on a monday and as much as students on this campus never slept and had an unhealthy coffee addiction - very few would be here this late on a monday night, especially so close to midterms.
Blue was sitting by the table in the furthest corner from the entrance, in the back right next to the counter in case an actual customer had come in. He loved his boss, he really did, but he still doesn’t understand her need to keep the Café open until 1 am. As he looked at the figure approaching him, his eyes crinkled a little - black mask that adorned his face shifting at the movement of his cheeks. He gave a welcoming smile to his friend -Chris.
Well Blue supposes most people call him Chan, but he likes Chris more. In his words it just sounded better to his ears. Chan put the laptop in his hand on top of the table, across from the books spread out in front of Blue, slipping his backpack on the back of his chair before sitting down, accepting the coffee Blue had shoved his way.
“Laptop” Blue spoke, holding his hand out expectantly. “Hello Chris. How was your day Chris? Oh it was fine and yours? That's how you start a conversation.” Chan spoke before carefully giving his laptop to Blue- moving the chair he was sitting on next to the male with a cat on his lap.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I’m just kinda excited to write.” Blue let out a soft chuckle, opening the laptop, the bright screen illuminating his covered face. “ Nah, it's fine, '' Chan replied, fishing out the paper that explained the task he was supposed to complete by the end of the week. “ You do know you don’t have to help me with this, right?” Chan spoke before placing the assignment paper into Blue’s hands.
“ I know, I just need an outlet and the topic seems interesting. You know I can never give up the opportunity to write about the night. Plus it's not like I’m writing your whole essay.” Blue replied, shrugging his shoulders and taking the paper from Chan as his eyes quickly scanned over the explanation of what the essay should contain.
“Blue, we both know what happens when you help with my essays. You write way too much for the word limit, I have to edit most things out and get a perfect grade. I barely do the work so don’t discredit yourself like that.” Chan gave a knowing look to his friend as he finally sat down, moving away some of Blue’s notebooks to make room for his own. “I’m not discrediting myself, you are editing my work so technically you're still involved in the process. Plus how else are you going to stay a teacher's pet If I don’t do this.” Blue took a sip from his coffee, black coffee filled with so much sugar Chan gets cavities just looking at it, before his fingers started rapidly tapping on the keyboard. Leaving Chan all alone with his other homework before Blue told him to play some music.
Chan obliged, connecting his phone to the cafe speakers and lowering the volume so that the music would softly surround them. It was cold outside, but warm in the cafe. It was always warm in the cafe, whether that be because of the cats, the steam of the hot drinks served or just the amount of people that always ruffle in and out, Chan honestly didn't know which one.
The two seniors stayed in this silence, Chan working on other assignments or songs while Blue sat typing at the keys on his laptop. Only sign that he was aware of his surroundings and not completely consumed into his writing was the way his leg would bounce along with whatever beat was playing ( the cat, Sock’s if Chan remembered correctly, had left Blue’s lap a long time ago.)
Their routine only being interrupted when a customer would enter, looking like the walking dead and eyes lighting up when seeing Blue. Chan would always laugh at that. The students in this place seemed to think Blue was their savior, it had been understandable really. Blue was their closest and cheapest source of good coffee when it came to late night and they needed the caffeine to stay awake and finish whatever project they forgot about.
Chan had finished all his work a while ago, now going through Blue’s laptop while the other male was still busy on his. He had been going through the tracks Blue had composed for his class. The Blue haired male asked for his help to edit some parts and choose which song to give to their teacher for the monthly review.
The food Chris brough had been long gone, and it had been 1 am when Blue finally took their attention away from the screen. Eyes hurting from staring at it for hours. “Done?” Chan asked softly, looking at the way Blue was rubbing his eyes. “Hm, for now. I wrote enough but I haven't edited it or read it over yet.” Blue replied standing up and stretching before walking to the cafe doors, turning the ‘open’ sign around so that it would say closed. “ That's fine, I can do that, I need to at least do some things for my own essay.” Chan says with a laugh.
“True, could you just clean up the table please? I need to go check that the cats are asleep and they have enough water and things, then go check on some things for tomorrow before closing up the back.” Blue asked Chan while walking behind the counter, waiting for Chan’s “yeah sure” before disappearing into the rooms where the cats were kept at night. There were 5 cats in total, not including Blue’s own cat that would be going home with them.
Blue’s cat, called Bluestar after some character in a book series Blue read when he was young. The cat would always come with Blue to the cafe and then go home with him. About 20 minutes later both men had finished their tasks, Blue walking out of the back with his cat in his cage. Chan stood by the door waiting for Blue so that they could walk back to their dorms. “ Food and walk or home?” Chan asked. Blue’s eyes absolutely light up at the mention of food and a nighttime stroll, Chan swears sometimes that the male was more dog than cat.
“Food and walk” Blue said, both males walked out of the cafe after Blue made his final run down that everything was closed. He took his backpack from Chan and started walking, cat cage still in hand. “Although could we drop Bluestar off first? I don’t wanna walk around with him, he’s gonna get fussy because of the cold.” Blue asked Chan. “Sure”, the shorter male responded before continuing to walk to Blue’s dorm.
After a few moments of silence Chan decided to speak up, asking the question that's been bugging him since this morning “Are you okay? With the whole thing on friday? If you aren't comfortable with it we could figure something else out.”
“Chris, I would've said something if I wasn't okay with it. Plus it's like 70% of our grade. If I wasn't okay I would just suck it up” Blue replied.
“Blue that's not what I’m talking about and you know it.”
“Chris, it's been two years, please don’t bring this up.” Blue sounded tired saying it, as if he had to repeat the same thing over and over. Despite the dread in his stomach. Chan understood, he guessed it should've become tiring having to reassure people about the same thing over and over again.
“Blue listen I get you don’t want to talk about it, trust me I do. But it’s different now, the charges were dropped on lack of evidence. She’s free. You can’t blame me for worrying. Especially since you haven't even told any of the others. I just want to make sure you understand the dangerousness of this situation.” Chan’s voice sounded almost like he was pleading.
“Chris, I wouldn't have told anyone about her release, the only reason you and the babies know is because you were there when I got the call. I don’t blame you for worrying, I appreciate it, I really do. But it's not necessary, okay? I understand better than anyone how dangerous it can be. But I’m not going to let that stop me from living my life. Plus me telling the boys would only make this bigger than it is.”
Chan wanted to scream at Blue that, it was a big situation, it was a huge and dangerous situation. But he stayed silent the rest of the walk. He wouldn't disrespect Blue’s wishes of not telling their other friends at KQ, he knew the babies wouldn't either. He just hopes nothing bad happens. He knows it's fruitless, something bad is definitely going to happen, but Chan would like to live in denial a little longer.
They had walked slower than they realized because once they reached the Dorms it was 02:30 am. Meaning the store they would have gone to get snacks and walk to would be closed.
“Raincheck?” Blue asked while they were walking to his dorm, Chan’s dorm was only a few rows down so he would have walked past Blue’s anyway. Perfect excuse to walk them home and make sure that no sneaky pink haired girl would jump his friend. Definitely.
When Blue opened his dorm door and bid Chan goodbye, he didn't know what to expect, but seeing his two underclassmen cuddle up on the couch that they had positioned to look at the door was definitely not it. He put Bluestar down, letting the cat out of its cage as it immediately started walking towards Blue’s room.
Blue got an extra blanket and threw it over his two friends before silently shuffling off to his room. Taking off his mask and completing his nighttime routine before walking out to the kitchen located in their dorm. He would've just made something for himself, but knowing Seungmins nose when it came to food, he got out enough ramen for the three of them. Now you can’t judge Blue for this, it was the only thing he knew how to make, and he made it damn well if you would have asked him.
When the food was finished and he set it on the table, he heard a crash from where his friends were located on the couch. He looked at them, tangled in the blankets desperately trying to get away from one another while muttering curses. Seungmin was up first, after regaining his composure his face immediately went to the food on the table. “Well good morning to you,” Blue said laughing as I.N stood behind Seungmin, face confused and hair sticking every witch way.
“Why exactly were you two cuddled up on a moved couch in front of the door?” Blue asked, going to sit down while the two younger ones followed in suit. “We were waiting for you” I.N said as if it was the most obvious thing ever. Then Seungmin slapped him upside the head for exposing his cover. “I told you guys not to do that, I don't have early classes tomorrow, you do. You needed to sleep” Blue told the two.
“We know it's just….” Seungmin's voice died down as he shoved ramen in his mouth, an excuse to not talk. “You two are worried about Sani too? I just had this conversation with Chris. Everything is fine guys.” Blue said exasperated. He hated being worried over like a toddler.
“Everything will be fine once you tell Mingi-Huyng. Until then I am camping in front of that door when you work night shifts.” Seungmin said. I.N gave a small “Me too” while his mouth was still full of noodles. Usually Blue would fight on this, but honestly he didn't have the power for that right now. He also knew he would lose. He knew how serious this actually was but living in denial was better than actually having to face the truth of her possibly coming back.
Who was Blue kidding, she was back. His priv doesn't follow her for nothing. It's honestly only a race against time on who finds who first. Her finding him, or his friends at KQ finding her. He honestly didn't know which option was better. Finishing in silence and then going to his room, his underclassmen going into theirs, he couldn't stop the anxiety building in his stomach.
Why did it have to be now, and why did it have to be brought up in every conversation. He just hoped that this showcase thing would keep all his friends busy. He could find a way to deal with Sani on his own. Maybe. Possibly. Hopefully.
With a stomach full of food and anxiety, Blue went to bed, preparing himself for the nightmares and puking that would follow. They had started up again last week, when he got the call.
—---------------------------------------------------------
Minho woke up exactly 10 minutes before his alarm, bolting to the bathroom and releasing his dinner from the previous night. He hated this. They had gotten better, he knew they had. So why did it start again? Why did he wake up in a cold sweat, scared out of his mind sometimes even nauseous too.
He wanted to scream at whoever invented soulmates, really. What was the point in him having a constant link with his soulmates emotions, even being able to feel them if he was in a deep enough sleep, if he wasn't able to do anything.
They were getting better goddamnit. He knew they were, he had seen a few times when the color of the heart would change to yellow. He knew they were getting better, he had been ecstatic about it, because it broke him when they were down and he couldn't do anything. So why. Why did the nightmares have to come back, why did he have to wake up to a heart as white as the face of a ghost.
Why did his soulmate have to go through all this? Why couldn't he just find them? Why couldn't he just protect them from whatever caused this reaction? Why did fate have to be so cruel?

Consider me (Bakugo x Fem! reader)
Here's another long ass story from me. Bakugo x Fem!reader. You were the new girl in UA and you've instantly caught the eye of the "Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight". Even he was surprised too. This is just a fluff story of how I think you're love story with Bakugo will blossom. I hope you'll enjoy it.
Part 1-The Invitation
Tumblr media
The tiny clock on your desk read 08:30 PM. Homework has kept you from mingling with your classmates in the common room since 7:30 PM.
'Wow!'
You thought, not expecting that it's already been an hour since you started on your school work but still haven't finished.
Although it was a Friday night, your teachers didn't hold back in giving you things to do before the weekend. Luckily for you, you were the type of person who likes to spend her weekend however she pleases, so you made it your goal to finish everything tonight.
You were a 2nd year student at UA who just transferred recently from Shiketsu High School, which is located in the western side of Japan, due to your parents relocating because of work. The news of the move was heartbreaking for you because that would mean you'd have to leave your friends.
Starting anew was always daunting, but you had to face it, since your dad's current company have closed due to some issues and his new job required that he be situated near his work place.
You did thought to keep on studying in Shiketsu High School, but the commute would be very tiring it was one the opposite east side of Japan, opposite your new home, Musutafu in Shizuoka Prefecture. Which means to you had to transfer to UA.
The first day of class as a new girl was always nerve racking, but you were welcomed with open arms by your new classmates and that made it easy for you to adapt to your new environment. Of course, you still kept in touch with your friends in Shiketsu but your new friends were very nice to you and they made you feel that you belong.
You were now getting started on your Modern Hero Art History when you heard a knock on your door.
'Who could that be?'
You thought as you stood up to answer the door and to your surprise it was Bakugou Katsuki.
What was he doing here?
With eyes growing wide, you gasped at his surprise visit.
Who wouldn't be surprised? The person that you've been crushing on since day one just suddenly showed up on your door step. Anyone would be caught off guard!
Yet here he was, standing in front of you, all 172.2 cm of his gloriousness.
'It's him! IT'S HIM!! Why is he here?!'
'OMG! OMG! OMG!'
A sudden 'ahem' from Bakugo brought you back down to earth from cloud 9.
Bakugo:
"Um ... "
Obviously nervous for having to do what he needs to do right now and just the sight of you makes his knees wobble, he attempted to speak in a shaky voice, hoping that you wouldn't hear how loud his heart was beating.
He drew a deep breathe and exhaled to calm himself down before trying again.
Bakugo:
"Hi, L/N-san. Um ... I know you're wondering why I'm here. There is something that I wanted to tell you ... and that's ... Will you go out with me?"
Finally! He finally did it! He said it! He was glad to have taken another deep breathe before asking as it gave him an ounce of courage to speak up.
And now for your reply.
Y/N:
"Hmmm?"
That was all you could manage because truthfully, you saw his mouth moving that told you that he was definitely saying something but none of it reached your ears due to the deafening sound your heartbeat.
Bakugo:
"Will you go out on a date with me?"
Tumblr media
After repeating his invitation, his heart beat somehow changed it's rhythm. He was a nervous wreck before coming to talk to you but now even more so.
Fear was familiar to him, it fueled him to be more brave, and he had no problems overcoming it. But this fear he feels now is different. It's as if, for the first, he was genuinely scared. Scared because of you, of how you would respond. Scared of being rejected, he wouldn't know how to get over it if you did.
Anticipation emanated on his face.
At last, you got out of your daze and finally heard what he was saying.
Y/N:
"Out?"
Well, most of it.
Bakugou:
"Yes. Will you go out with me, L/N-san?"
If you haven't noticed anticipation painting his face, you certainly heard it.
And then it struck you.
Y/N:
"What?"
Are you hearing this correctly? The Bakugo Katsuki asked you  out! You wanted to scream.
Were you dreaming? Is this a prank?
Y/N:
"Why?"
You blinked in confusion because this was so unreal. Why would he want to ask you out?
He was certainly taken aback by your question. Was his question really that difficult?
Bakugo:
"'Why'? Because ... Well ..."
Tumblr media
(A/N: please don't mind the background in the image. I'm using his expression. thanks.)
He was lost for words.
'Why? What do you mean Why?'
To simply say that he likes you would be an understatement. He doesn't know what it's called exactly. All he knows is that he feels it for you and he couldn't help it.
Bakugo:
"Look! I don't know 'why', okay? Will you go out with me or not?"
If he sounded impatient, he didn't mean it. He was just getting anxious now that you might say 'no'.
You lowered your gaze showing to think whether to accept his invitation or not.
Y/N:
"Um ... I don't know."
There it was. You don't know.
Of course! What was he expecting?
Why in the world would you give him a chance?
To him you're a goddess. Out of all the girls he has met, you were incomparable to them.
You didn't even need to try. Just the sight of you was breathtaking. Not to mention your smile. And when you look his way, he swears, he wanted to be in that moment forever.
And him?
He was just a loudmouthed gremlin who couldn't care less about what people say or think about him and that would be enough to turn you off. So why would you even consider liking him?
Although he was one of the top student in your class, he wasn't conceited about it and according to his mom he was handsome. Sure, he has a scar on his face, but he wears it proudly. Who wouldn't be proud of it? He fought OFA and won!
Tears slowly start to form behind his eyes because realizing that you might not feel the sameway is painful but he held it back as best as he can.
Y/N:
"I mean ... Well ... It's not that I 'don't' want to go out with you. It's just ..."
Was he hearing it correctly? You're hesitating?
'What does she mean? Do I have a chance?'
Hope began to spring inside his chest and he was quick to blink away the urge to cry.
Bakugo:
"What do you mean?"
It was no joke. He started to feel warm inside.
Y/N:
"I mean ... I'm not saying that you're a terrible person. No. No! In fact, I think you're wonderful! I mean, you're one of the best in our class and I believe that you'll become a great hero. Our classmates are witness of that. And not to mention that your getting higher grades than me and you're not conceited is definitely something I admire about you."
It was his turn to be speechless.
He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Did you just compliment him? And somehow you seemed to not realize that you did.
Bakugo guessed that that's one of the things he likes about you, your honesty. You were not afraid to say what you think or feel. According to him, you were brave that way.
Realizing what you just said and the fact that you can't take it back now, you just decided to ask him again.
Y/N:
"It's just that ... are you sure? About me?"
The hesitancy in your voice was clear. Why would you ask him that?
Besides pursuing his dream of becoming the number 1 hero, he was sure about this, about you. Then why would you ask him that?
Why would he even bother allowing sleepless nights with the thoughts of you and pluck up the courage to ask you so that Kaminari, Sero, Kirishima, and Ashido would stop nagging him about it if he wasn't sure?
Bakugo:
"I'm not sure I follow you. What do you mean am I sure about you? Why would you ask me that?"
He was honestly confused because to him you were perfect. It was him who feels unworthy of even talking to you.
Y/N:
"Um ... I just ... Your this and ... I'm ...  This."
As best as you could, you explained whilst gesturing to him and then to you as if that got your point across.
But it didn't. It was clear on the bewildered look that he was giving you.
What you wanted to say was why would he want to go out with you?
You never really did get high marks but you never got any failing grades in any of your subjects. Although, you believed that your not strong enough yet to become the hero that you always wanted to be and that made you insecure. Of course, you give it your best when doing hero training but you pale in comparison to Bakugo's strength.
Your inferiority makes you want to compare yourself to your other classmates it scares you to think that that might push Bakugo away and make him realize that you're not the type of person that he thought you were.
What's more difficult is that you don't know how to explain it to him.
You could only sigh in exasperation because your insecurities are making it hard for you elaborate what you wanted to say.
Y/N:
"Do you have your phone with you?"
Instead, you asked him as if out of nowhere with your palms open. Luckily enough he brought his phone with him and placed it in your hand without questioning you as to why.
The confused look on his face didn't not disappear, in fact it only deepened due to your action. So, you gave him an explanation all the while putting in your phone number.
Y/N:
"I'm sorry I couldn't give you an answer right now, Bakugo. I really don't like making rash decision and then wasting both our times. Is it okay if I think about your invitation some more before giving you an answer? I just ... hate being unsure of things and end up regretting in the end."
Your words stung him a little but he understood what you meant as he too did not like making decisions rashly.
In dejection, he nodded his head slowly as an answer to your question without even meeting your eyes.
Bakugo:
"Yeah. Okay. Good night."
Keeping his head down, he trudged toward the elevator.
It's as if his heart was smashed into a million pieces and the pieces gathered in his feet and that made them feel heavy.
'Oh no!'
You were worried that you might have hurt his feelings. Did he misunderstood what you just said?
Y/N:
"Bakugo!"
Calling out to his crestfallen-retreating-form, which pained you to watch, but you were glad that he still turned his to look at you.
Were you going to say that you changed your mind and that you have made a decision?
'Please, let that be it!'
Was he begging now? He hated begging! But if that's what it takes for you to say yes, he will be willing to get on his knees. That's how bad he has it for you.
Tumblr media
Y/N:
"Please text me your number and I promise, I'll let you know. I just don't want you to regret asking me out."
Those were your last words before closing your door.
Again. What did you mean by that?
He didn't know that asking a girl out could be this tiring.
Apparently, he just has to be patient with you and wait for your response. Hopefully you'd accept.
With his heavy heart, he turned to the elevator once more while searching for the number you saved on his phone. When he found your number, he was shocked by the contact name that you saved.
If he was confused a few seconds ago he was baffled now. But then again, he took it as a good omen and continued to tap on the call icon to let your phone ring on your side but quickly ended it.
Now you have his number, he thought.
'I hope you will really think it through and consider me.'
The elevator doors opened and Bakugo hopped in pressing "go up" button to return to his dorm floor.

I know this story is long. I just couldn't help.
Anyway, thank you for giving this a read and I hope you liked it!
Stay safe.

The contractions were coming in shorter and shorter intervals and you were already completely exhausted. It hadn't caught you off guard but it was a few days early, luckily the guys and Tech had returned from their last mission just in time.
"Don't forget to breathe, Cyare, just like we practiced".
You sigh and push a sweaty strand of hair out of your forehead.
"Easier said than done, Tech"
"I know, I know" he said understandingly and dabbed your forehead with a cloth "You'll be fine"
Another contraction rolled over you and you clung to Tech's arm.
"You need to start pushing" said AZI who was keeping an eye on the situation and acting as an obstetrician.
It was extremely painful and it took what felt like an eternity but after many hours you finally heard the first cries of your little daughter. You felt joy and a small surge of energy in your battered body, but you were also dizzy and in pain where you would rather have none.
AZI called Omega into the room and handed the child to her with quick and concise instructions.
"My baby... I want to see my baby," you can barely get the words past your lips, your strength fading very quickly.
You don't understand what's going on. You just see Omega leaving the room with your Baby and a worried look on her face.
"Why is there so much blood?" you hear Tech ask with concern.
"I'll take care of it, you take care of your wife".
Tech holds your hand and talks reassuringly to you while AZI gives you an IV and takes care of the follow-up and treatment.
"Everything will be fine" AZI says reassuringly after a little while "You just need to rest a little before you get to hold your child". Omega and Tech will take care of the baby for the time being. You lost a lot of blood and need to recover first"
You didn't like that at all, but you were so damn tired you guessed it was the right thing to do.
"Take care of our girl" you said powerlessly to Tech while AZI cleaned you and the bed and helped you lie down properly.
"Get some sleep now, when you wake up we'll bring you your baby," AZI said cheerfully.
"Thank you AZI, for everything," you said just before your eyes fell shut.
Tumblr media
When you woke up, Tech and Omega were already at your bedside, Omega holding the baby and Tech keeping an eye on her. Basically he knew she could take care of a baby very well, she had taken care of him and his brothers back on Kamino when they were babies, but this was his own child, of course he was keeping an eye on it.
"Hey Cyare," Tech says softly when he sees you are awake "Look who came to visit you."
Omega steps closer to you, the girl has a bright smile on her pretty face and places a wriggling bundle in your arms. Your heart beats faster as you look into your daughter's tiny face, eyes only half open, little hands fidgeting back and forth. She looks at you, almost questioningly, very quietly, and blinks.
"Hello Amelia, little Amy."
Tech smirked, "So you decided on the name I suggested after all".
You nodded.
"It's nice, I think it suits her" you said smiling.
"Hunter, Wrecker and Echo are out right now, but Crosshair stayed behind, he's waiting outside. He didn't say it but he's been loitering outside the door for a while now, I suspect he'd like to see you and the kid," Omega said amused at her brother.
Tech helped you sit up and you finally called Crosshair to come in.
The Sniper approached you tentatively and finally said, "Man you look like shit."
You frowned but had to laugh while Tech as well as Omega poked him admonishingly from both sides.
"It's okay it's okay, she knows I'm just kidding," he said rolling his eyes.
Crosshair leaned forward to see the child.
"Amy, meet your uncle Crosshair."
Amy made a bubbling sound and Crosshair said with a smile, "I see she's impressed."
You chuckled.
"How are you feeling, Cyare?" asked Tech.
"Tired, still, a little groggy, but actually okay".
Tech nodded and said "AZI says you should stay in bed for a few more days before you're allowed to get up".
You sighed but nodded, you were so knackered you didn't really mind.
Omega beamed at you "I'll help you with Amy".
"That's so sweet of you, sweetie," you said, gently squeezing her hand that was lying next to you on the bed.
"I'll go make you a snack," Crosshair said.
Omega rolled her eyes and said, "I'd better go with him, just to make sure he doesn't set the kitchen on fire."
"Don't be cheeky or I'll put you in the oven," Crosshair said more or less jokingly as the two left the room.
Tech looked at you, a soft loving smile on his lips, you had never seen his features so soft before.
"You had me worried for a moment, yesterday," he said gently, sitting down on the edge of the bed, leaning over you and kissing your forehead.
You nodded slowly as he sat back up and looked at you.
"I know, I was a little worried myself".
"But you did it, you gave birth to our daughter" he said, smiling a little wider "I really hope she looks more like you"
You laughed softly.
"Oh Tech, she will be perfect, a part of both of us".

Expecting Sabo in the room, Luffy yelled out; "Boo!!"

"Huh..? No ones here?.."
'This is odd, Sabo isn't here?'
'Why'd he leave his room open?'

Use a numbers to letters converter and set the code type to 'ASCII' for the numbers, and a Ceaser Cipher for the garbled letters, your end result should be:
"you're here with us? that's great!!! we can't reach out to others… but you can! right? if you can, go help him! he's actively searching…"
"I gave you that tool... But you gotta find a tool to help you with this one, sorry"

Leading the way, Ace was walking ahead, "If memory serves me correct, this is the area the beetles should be in-" He said before getting interrupted by Sabo.
"Hey I think I got it working!" The second brother said as he raised his camera.
Panel 13 ALT Text:
"Smile for the camera Lu!!" Sabo exclaimed happily as he pointed it to Luffy, expecting a smile from him.
"Oi 'Bo, save some of that camcorder's memory for when we find the beetles." The older brother reminded him. He wanted to have Sabo record the beetle catching.
Panel 14 ALT Text:
When Sabo had pointed, he noticed something.
"Hey Luffy, I just noticed, you barely talked on our way here? Is there anything wrong...? He frowned.
Ace perked up, "Oh yeah.. I just noticed that too. Is anything bothering you lately? I'll beat them up if it's someone messing with you." He was a bit concerned for Luffy. That time he came home later than usual after kiting with his friends, he'd become odd.
Panel 15 ALT Text:
Gaining his attention, the younger boy spoke up, "Well.. It's nothing much really. I'm just thinking about some crazy stuff."
He stammered a little as he lied.. or well, told a truth that hid his real problem. He looked over at Ace and Sabo, trying to solidify his words.
Panel 16 ALT Text:
"Crazy stuff..? Like what? Is it the recent missing people lately? i can see why you'd think about some crazy stuff.." Sabo asked, but luckily for Luffy it wasn't what he was worried about.
As his brothers started to talk, he felt their voices become distant as he noticed it. He's there. It's there. What is it doing there!?

Blacklisted at the First Unitarian Church 10/28/23
When Blacklisted announced that they would be doing two reunion shows in Philly I was taken back by the news. Eventually all these bands get back together but I can think back fondly to a time when I would see Blacklisted with friends at the time who are now strangers. Is it bad that is my memory of Blacklisted? I would say that and just remembering how violent some of those mid 2000s shows were at the Church and Philafunk. Anyways, here's me with my family at age 19 with my Blacklisted The Beat Goes On shirt. I wish I still had it but its well gone.
Tumblr media
I am super grateful to have a few people in my life still who I call friends and one of them is my friend Matt who secured me a ticket to day 2 as these shows sold out in a blink of an eye so I do want to say that.
It can be weird walking down those steps into that venue to see a bunch of people that you know from over the years. I know I can only speak for myself but I always try to be personable and friendly. 9/10 times I will come up to you and say hello and ask how you're doing. That has always been me! Sadly, if I'm not engaging you in conversation in person no one will reciprocate and come up to say hello to me. That's just the way its always been and that's OK. It's like I tell my students I work with, you can only control YOUR actions.
When I was younger and into hardcore these things would often make me feel lonely. There's so much preaching about community in this genre but most of my time in there I walked alone or had temporary people in my life. Sometimes it was a worse fate, like spending time talking to "friends" on the internet for years who didn't care about me they only wanted someone to pay attention to them. That's why I am very anti you can't have real friends on the internet if you're not living SHARED experiences together.
Happiness only real when shared
I digress but Blacklisted is sad music however it made for quite the live show tonight. Would I have like to hear more than one song off The Beat Goes On? Absolutely. Was I disappointed not to hear Eye For An Eye. Yes. Luckily, I was around when they played songs off the album so to see them a decade plus later I was willing to hear anything. I enjoyed my time with my friend Matt relieving a legendary Philadelphia hardcore band. At this point in my life, I'll take it!!

End of year meme: 1, 16, 19, 42
Hey!!
1) "First things first, did you have a good year?" - Goodness me it's been a really really intense year but definitely one of my best. I've been doing work that is everything I am passionate about and I've been able to make real contributions. I've spoken with workers living in shanty towns working miles and miles of strawberry farms for supermarkets. I've been hosted by the Honduran government and met peasants being evicted from their land. It is one thing reading about these things and another seeing it for yourself and meeting people who are at the sharpest end of the system. It makes you see through a lot of bullshit. I've finally gotten on HRT and it's been everything I've hoped it would be and more. I've finally begun feeling like myself and it's wonderful! It's had it's lows too (there was a horrible time in August where I was very sick with covid, it was 40 degrees, my friend was waiting 9 hours for an ambulance for his sick uncle, and the Tory leadership contest was debating what defines a woman. Just felt like the absolute end of the world yknow), and it's been hard work. I've been doing lots of very difficult things (managing a huge project all by myself, trying to win strikes in other parts of the world, and all doing it with the endocrine system of a 14 year old girl) but I've never been so confident in who I am, what I stand for, and what I can do. It is brilliant feeling.
16) "What food did you try for the first time?" - I broke my vegetarianism for the first time in a decade while I was in Honduras. I wanted to be able to accept people's hospitality and I've had a potential celiac diagnosis hanging over me so I've been wavering. Some of it was nice, a nice locally caught fish and some really nice chorizo barbecued by the Vice Minister of Agrarian Reform (I live a crazy life). But I know I'm not missing anything, it's something I can totally live without, and it made me very ill lol. My vegetarianism has been reaffirmed!
19) "What was one nice thing you did for yourself?" - Honestly like, it has been very intense this year, I haven't had much time to sit still and look after myself. But I got lots of cute, nice clothes, and I made sure to rest when I could. And also like, taking these opportunities that were offered to me. I so nearly didn't go to Honduras because I was deep in covid when I was asked to go and felt like I needed to focus on my other work. Luckily I was offered a second chance to go when someone else dropped out! A wonderful opportunity.
42) "What are you most proud of accomplishing?" - It was like right at the beginning but the Azura strike is my biggest achievement. I wrote quite a lot about it on tumblr at the time I collected loads of photos and statements from the struggle which you can find here.
But basically there was a really serious case of union busting at a tomato farm owned by a huge Moroccan agribusiness called Azura. Azura was openly flaunting the law by docking union members pay for attending union meetings, ignoring the Labour inspectorates demand to negotiate with the union, and beat up and then sacked the union delegate leading the branch. The workers went on strike from the beginning of December until the middle of January. On 2nd January, Azura's actions led to the death of a worker called Sabah Dinar in a car accident on the picket line. They then sent G4S thugs to beat up the rest of the workers. They used a hosepipe on their tents at 3am.
A statement from La Via Campesina was drawn up demanding intervention from supermarkets for circulation. I sent it to every supermarket press officer, CSR team and regulator - I found their personal company addresses using rocketreach so it didn’t just get lost in the ether. I found document from Azura for international customers claiming that they respected union rights and paid well. At the same time, workers from other farms joined the picket line for a big demonstration against Azura. My emailing resulted in 3 British supermarkets intervening and demanding Azura negotiated with the union. This won them everything the workers were asking for - the sacked union members got a lot of compensation and Sabah’s young children are now getting their education paid for by the company. Azura’s human resources team both at the farm and national level were sacked for their role in this. And now Azura is negotiating with FNSA on a whole range of issues. It was an extremely well coordinated effort between the FNSA and LVC unions in Europe organised in a very small amount of time and my actions were key in resolving the situation positively.
