something that i’ve really wanted to talk about since i rewatched 6x02 was the scenes between kurt and spencer, and more so, how spencer’s character is written and how it follows a strange and kind of frustrating pattern on this show.
i think the general consensus with spencer is that people aren’t a fan of how he treats kurt. what he says comes across pretty disrespectful, as we’ve watched kurt’s journey for five whole seasons and seen the struggle he’s been through with his sexuality. and kurt’s.... completely right about the fact that spencer owes glee club for making mckinley a more accepting place, but particularly, spencer owes him, and his refusal to back down even when people were treating him so terribly. he forced people to see him, even when they tried so hard to diminish him. that’s important.
spencer’s assertion that things were different when kurt was in high school has always been strange, to me. and one of the things i want to bring up here is that this whole thing feels a little..... hard to believe, based on the timeline? this is happening in fall 2014. kurt graduated in 2012. it’s been just a little over two years, which is, in the grand scheme of things, not a ton of time. like, people kurt went to school with are still at mckinley. one of the reasons i wish s6 was set multiple years in the future, instead of only a few months after the end of s5, is because of this. there are a lot of things that just don’t hit with the emotional weight the writers seemed to intend because the timeline is so condensed.
anyway, i think my big frustration with what spencer says is his claim that being gay is primarily how kurt identified himself, because..... no? that’s how the rest of the school identified him. that’s how the staff identified him (schue writing ‘gay’ in his notes when kurt was auditioning for glee club). kurt didn’t get to come out on his own terms. his sexuality was assumed by his bullies and then used against him before he was ready to tell even his own father. i think, in some ways, the writers were maybe trying to frame spencer as being in the wrong, that it was supposed to come across slightly ignorant? but i think it kind of backfires and ends up falling into an unintentional pattern the writers established of queerness being acceptable if you present it in the “right” way. kurt’s not being targeted for being gay, he’s being targeted for being gay in the wrong way, in how it intersects with his masculinity, interests, and passions.
we see this pretty clearly in sebastian’s character, in the way he’s set up to be a foil for kurt and how his insults are primarily based in effeminophobia. the underlying message is, because sebastian is gay too, the problem isn’t kurt’s sexuality. it’s how he presents it. we also see it in the writing of blaine’s character, tbh. i mentioned this briefly, a while ago, but the immediate framing of blaine as “not a stereotype” in opposition to the other gay character on the show feels.... indicative of something. as the show goes on, the writing seems to push this idea that blaine not being a stereotype, or blaine having more traditionally masculine interests, is what makes things easier for him. (the differences in how hevans vs blam are written, blaine getting tony, being picked by june, etc). yet again, the subconscious idea that it isn’t kurt’s sexuality, it’s how he presents it, is being pushed because he’s being compared to another gay character. (as an aside: there is something to be said about the way blaine was written vs. the way darren portrayed him. different post, but let it be known that i mean zero shade at blaine with this. i’m talking about the writing 100%.)
spencer is a football player, who just happens to be gay. explicit attention is given to the fact that the problem isn’t sexuality, the problem is the way kurt chooses to present that sexuality. the pattern that’s being established, then, is that being gay is acceptable if you’re conforming to a particular standard. if you’re not being “stereotypical”. if it isn’t your identity. if you present your masculinity a certain way. if you have societally acceptable, traditionally masculine interests, if you can fit in and be “one of the guys”. and repeatedly, kurt is insulted throughout all six seasons because he isn’t any of these things, and he refuses to change himself to be.
the other layer to this is that we don’t get to see kurt “win” very often. we don’t get to see him be chosen, be valued, in a way other characters were, in-universe (there is a big difference between discussing the quality of his writing and his storyline in-universe, and i feel like those are often conflated). his success (or lack thereof, for a long time) is tied to peoples’ inability to see him beyond his sexuality. the way he presents it almost feels like a mark against him? i think this is where a lot of kurt fans find their resentment and disdain for the way he was treated. there is a really shitty pattern here of diminishing and mocking kurt that ties to his sexuality because the way he presents it, compared to other gay male characters, is seen as lesser, wrong, etc. and, for a show that constantly purports acceptance no matter who you are, this just feels.....cruel, lol.

most of the kuwei hate in this fandom is absolutely racially motivated and most of it is probably subconscious but i NEED to talk about this.
and not because i think people r thinking "i hate kuwei!! he's asian and i hate asians!!" tbh most anti asian racism on the internet goes way deeper than that.
basically, what i believe to be the most prominent type of racism against asians, especially on the internet, is stereotyping. specifically "uwu-ification." the east asian entertainment industry likes to paint asian people as cute, submissive and sweet because it markets disturbingly well to american audiences, and whether people mean to or not, they internalize it and it affects the way they think of asian people as a whole. This mostly happens to east and southeast asian women, but definitely a lot with men too, especially in more recent years with the whole yaoi culture thing (i fucking hated typing that) becoming more popular. simply put, it's fetishization.
so how does this relate to kuwei? well, when kuwei is introduced to us, and im not gonna dance around it— he is pretty stereotypically asian. he's shy, innocent, small, good at math/science and— you guessed it— no speaka engrish. leigh bardugo lays the perfect trap for fandom white girl weeaboos to gush over this guy. once i came across a modern au where kuwei's whole northern chinese-mongolian ass is a "shy japanese transfer student." i really wish i was making this up.
but then we find out that kuwei is actually a conniving little shit who is really quite terrible at science and spends all day making shitty drawings of his crush instead of doing math or wtv. The turning point where we are told this is the jesper kiss. This is the point where we find out kuwei is not the yaoi uwu baby we thought he was. and how does fuckin 2/3 of the fandom react?? hate. instant hate. If you search "i hate kuwei" on twitter there are tweets both defending and attacking him, but there is significantly more of the latter.
most of them claim to hate him for kissing jesper but like... jesper kissed him. He doesn't say anything because, in his own words, "we're all probably going to die anyway." does no one see how tragic that is?? he let his first (probably) kiss be taken by someone who he knew didn't even like him because he thought it would be the only one he'd ever get.
and yet the only thing people see is that he "got in the way" of wesper and he's evil. throughout the series kuwei is given no agency, and that's the point of his character. everyone on the planet treats him as a weapon or a bargaining chip. he gets tossed around like a rag doll and to white (or otherwise not asian) audiences, that makes him the perfect picture of a little asian cutie i almost vomited typing that holy shit. but the moments where he takes something for himself— insisting on going to ravka, kissing jesper back— that's what makes people hate him. and don't even get me started on the way people project their hatred onto the other crows, especially wylan. yall will act like wylan loathes kuwei with all his being. he doesn't!! wylan is not a hateful person and he always defends kuwei!! but nooo, kuwei sucks and he deserves it for daring to be a person instead of an idea.
and hey?? guess what?? kuwei was NEVER in the way of wesper. there was no love triangle. narratively speaking, there was never any threat that kuwei would end up with jesper instead of wylan. never ever. the kiss was literally only put there to create drama for wylan and jesper. we never even hear how kuwei feels about it. stop using that as an excuse to hate on kuwei when we can all see it's because you're subconsciously mad at an asian person not being nice.
also disliking kuwei does not automatically make you racist, im just saying a lot of hatred towards kuwei is rooted in racism.
tagging my fellow aapi moots (that i know of) because i wanna hear yalls thoughts on this! @hauntedacousticversiontv @dramaqueentruther

saw someone say "dickbabs is bad cuz they're written as a stereotype of smart nerd/dumb jock which is a disservice to their characters" and its so weird cuz i cant think of any comics where they're written that way?? like the best comics of them are the ones where they're working on cases together combining both of their strengths and resources to solve crime and theres plenty of those.
also i've noticed so many dickbabs antis have a problem with barbara's intelligence in general which is odd to me. esp when dick himself is never intimidated nor threatoned by it and its sad. its like ppl claim to like girlboss/malewife couples but then when there's actually a couple that displays that dynamic in a way that matters and isnt just based on appearance or physical traits its too much and they back out!
I just wish certain Dickbabs antis would stop putting their "why this other pairing is so much better than DickBabs" stuff in the #dickbabs tag, like you are not helping me think better of your competing ship with that kind of behavior, it just comes off as so desperate to be mad that other people like something you wish they wouldn't like. Otherwise, I don't really wander into spaces that aren't into the things I'm into, because I'd much rather spend my time yelling about why I DO love the thing I love, so in that vein, LET ME TELL YOU WHY I LOVE DICKBABS SO MUCH. (To be clear, it's perfectly fine not to like the ship or like it in a different way, we'll still get along fine! It's not the sum total of EITHER character's role in the comics, there's plenty to talk about them without getting into this relationship! I'm just not here for those who need to go out of their way to shove it in my face that they don't like the ship, but disliking it and staying in your lane--as many, many lovely people do! the majority I would even say!--is of course fine.) (To further clarify, I don't know the context of the original post mentioned here, it's not part of anything I'm speaking of, this is purely about trying to shove it in others' faces, not about how other people interpret ships differently from me while staying in their own lanes. So I'm probably not speaking about the original post whatsoever here!) For me, I think the heart of their bigger relationship is built on their mutual support for each other, that they each have established themselves individually and have their own books and their own time in the spotlight, but they keep gravitating towards each other because they're better and stronger and more fun together. That each of them gladly takes their turn being the support for the other, because that's what relationships do! And they do it with such love, like-- I love them because they've known each other so long that they really get each other, they get that the other isn't perfect, and they've made the choice to be with that person even when their issues have thorns. Like, I loved everything about their conversation in Nightwing #96:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That is exactly what he needed to hear--she wasn't being cruel or dismissive of his issues, she wasn't even really being mean about the issues he picked up from Bruce, because she's right, Bruce does have some really shit traits that he passed on to his eldest. She's not saying that either he or Bruce are bad for it, she's just accepting that it's part of the man she loves and she'll cut through it with him because he's worth any effort it would take to be with him. I love that she laughs right in his face about breaking up, because that's not cruel or dismissive either, it's just Dick being ridiculous and sometimes it's part of his charm and they've always teased each other--the thing is, it's also always followed up with warmth and care, she asks him point blank, are you happy with me? Because you are allowed to be happy. I'm allowed to be happy and I'm happy with you, you're worth dying for, let's do this together. Or I love their earlier dynamic in the Batgirl comic as well, just after Bruce and Selina's failed marriage (this is before they got back together, like in the above):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love SO MUCH that Babs isn't sure that she necessarily wants a marriage any time soon, she doesn't trust yet that it could last, but what she does want is someone who would be there if she needed them, that at this point in time she feels like moments are all any of them are allowed to have, so what she wants is someone who will always answer when she calls. At this point, she's afraid to commit because she doesn't feel like they get that kind of thing, she's afraid of her own feelings, that really gets hammered in during the Death Knight storyline where they're fighting against the end of the world, the collapsing of the multiverse, and Bruce is tired of their bickering, so he tells them to just "skip to the end", which is basically, Dick wants to symbolically marry her, but she's afraid because she doesn't want her feelings for him to get in her way, she's terrified of losing him again:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But he's there for her, he says that it's just for tonight, he can put it aside when they need to, and later he'll win her back. This is who Dick and Babs are to me--they dance around each other because their feelings are so intense and sometimes it feels like they're on different pages (Dick's a romantic who wants to get married someday and knows it, she isn't sure she wants marriage but something less defined), but then you dig into it a bit and realize they are on the same page, it's just that their costumed lives, the traumas they've both lived through, make them scared of that level of intensity. And that's why Babs being the one to say, once they're together, no, we're happy together, we're allowed to be happy together, is so important. It's why she refuses to not come along with when Dick is going to the founding of the Alfred Pennyworth Foundation and doesn't take his shit about trying to keep her safe in Nightwing #88.
Tumblr media
Because they take turns supporting each other, they take turns being the one to say I love you so much that I would fight the world for you, that they make each other stronger and shore each other up. Even before they got back together, they supported each other and were always there to listen, to joke around to lighten the mood, to just be a friendly ear without expectations of anything else:
Tumblr media
Plus, they are adorable when they're flirting:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DICK'S IDEA OF A HOT DATE IS A NIGHT ON THE SOFA IN SWEATPANTS, EATING POPCORN, AND WATCHING THEIR FAVORITE SHOW. HE UNDERSTANDS HER, OKAY.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, I love them because sometimes she goes to him. Sometimes he goes to her. Sometimes she cuts through his bullshit with love. Sometimes he cuts through her bullshit with love. They're always there for each other, even when they're not together. They have a blast flirting with each other. They're both aware of the other being a hot mess sometimes, but they know that's part of the person they love and deal with it. They're partners.

it's been an age since i've been into naruto, and now that i have plans on making my own version on how naruto shippuden ended, i was wondering, how do you think naruto shippuden should've ended? like are you pro or anti naruhina? pro or anti sasusaku? whats your opinions on how the fourth war was played out? if you already spoke about this i'm sorry lol but im just wondering.
OMG HIIIIIIII @ofrolysdogs you're one of my OGs! How have you been????? Please please tag me or let me know once you create your rework. that sounds so intriguing!
This post is gonna be controversial, beauties.
How do you think Naruto Shippuden should've ended?
Ideally, with Naruto realizing that he doesn't need to become hokage to get the attention and validation from the people he loves and cares about. Or at the very least, with Naruto becoming hokage but abolishing the shinobi system. Maybe even make Danzo hokage along the way, just when Tsunade falls into her coma, and slowly make Naruto question the system more and more. Also, Sasuke's whole "redemption" arc should have been handled differently. First and foremost, he was a victim. He did a few things that were wrong, and I agree that there need to be consequences, but for this redemption arc I'd rather have him travel around and teach people around the world about the customs and culture of the Uchiha.
Are you pro or anti naruhina? pro or anti sasusaku?
I am both Anti NaruHina and Anti SasuSaku, but for two different reasons. I used to be a hardcore SNS shipper, but not so much nowadays. NaruHina had so much potential, they could have explored their class and privilege differences together, learning from each other and stuff. But Neji dying for their ship to sail? That was a hate crime. The reason I'm Anti SasuSaku is because I simply don't really like the thought of shipping Sasuke with anyone. He has enough to go through and putting him in a romantic relationship is not something that would make it more interesting or add stakes to it, although I wouldn't mind seeing him adopt a kid or two, given how family oriented Sasuke is.
Whats your opinions on how the fourth war was played out? I found the use of Edo tensei very interesting, albeit a little cheapened here and there. The Itachi and Sasuke vs Kabuto fight was a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing he two of them fight together side by side, and Itachi's final parting was very touching - but them fighting Kabuto of all people? Maybe if Kishi fleshed out Kabuto's story a little more, he clearly had no idea what to do with him. Poor bastard.
Madara just 'knowing' the hand signs of edo tensei is actually not so unlikely, but it still irks me how he was able to just "come back" when Edo Tensei was released.
And let's not talk about the power scaling, which went completely through the roof in the end. Oof. Kaguya, as is, ruined the storyline completely. It could have worked, but not in the way it was executed in shippuden.
But alas, I suppose there is only so much Kishi can do within the confines of a genre.

say, don't go
ship: stiles/derek prompt: memories characters: lydia, jackson, scott, isaac, boyd, erica, allison, kira, malia, danny cw: n/a tags: light angst, fluff, stiles leaves the pack, christmas word count: 2.5k ao3 ♞♚♞♚
Stiles stares out the window of the train. He fidgets with the receipt for his ticket in his hands. Crumpling, uncrumpling, ripping tiny pieces, and eventually, shoving it into his backpack's side pocket. He swallows, but there's a lump in his throat, and he doesn't know if he can breathe anymore.
He stands up under the guise of stretching his legs, and then sits down again. Squirms. He should've taken his ADHD and anti-anxiety meds, but he was so nervous about today that it slipped his mind completely.
"Excuse me," a voice comes from beside him. Stiles looks at the young girl in the seat next to him. She eyes his bouncing knee. "Do you mind not doing that? You're making me nervous."
"Sorry," he mumbles. He tries his best to stop, but it starts up again. He gives her an apologetic look and then looks back out the window.
It's mostly trees, and he wishes that it was more distracting.
They slow down to the next stop, and the girl beside him takes someone else's seat.
Stiles inhales sharply. Just outside his window, a perfect Christmas tree. He can't help himself. He's transported back, back to before he left Beacon Hills.
♞♚♞♚
"What do you think you're doing?" Lydia asks, laughing. She wraps her fingers around his wrist and tries to pull him in another direction. "C'mon, I have a gut-feeling the perfect Christmas tree is this way."
"No," Stiles says, shaking his head. He comes to a stop. "It's right there. Look at it. It's perfect."
"Perfect?" Lydia echoes. She stares at the tree before Stiles. "Actually... it just might be. Okay, I'll tell Jackson we want this one."
"Okay." Stiles lets her go and circles the tree to ensure that it really is perfect. He beams when Lydia shows up with Jackson. "This is the one."
Jackson inspects it before nodding. "Yep. It is. Stiles, bring the car around front?"
"Sure."
He makes his way through the tree farm and jingles Jackson's keys in his hand. It's going to be brilliant. Derek will never see it coming.
About a half hour later, they arrive at the Hale House. It's a little cold, a little empty. But it's big, beautiful, and ready to be loved again.
"Alright, I'll ask Scott to help me with the tree," Jackson says, giving Stiles a clap on the shoulder. "You go make sure everything else is in place."
"Bless," Stiles mutters as he jogs into the house. He's instantly hit with the aromas of food. Really, really good food. "God, it smells good."
"Doesn't it?" Scott asks, appearing in the living room archway. "Does Jackson need help with the tree?"
"Yeah."
"On it." Scott pauses before slipping out the front door. "This is really something that you're doing for him."
"It's nothing," Stiles says, unsure how to handle the sweet moment.
"It's something," Scott reassures him before leaving.
Stiles makes his way down the hallway to the kitchen. He grins. Erica and Boyd are blaring Christmas songs and laughing with each other.
Boyd catches sight of Stiles and nods silently, and Erica spins around. She's beaming. "Stilinski, reporting for duty."
He laughs. "How's it going, Reyes?"
"Great. The turkey is in the oven. The mashed potatoes are mashed. The beans are dressed. The--"
Boyd puts his arms around Erica's waist and she stops short to kiss his cheek.
"Everything is going to plan," Boyd says, grinning. "Kira and Allison will take over with the cookies soon."
Stiles grins back. "Speaking of... where are they?"
"Family room," Erica and Boyd answer in unison.
"Perfect." Stiles blows them kisses and they go back to work. He swings around into the family room where Danny is bent before the new electric fireplace. "Danny, my boy, how's it going?"
"Great," Danny answers, flicking a button. The electric fireplace roars to life.
"Amazing." He glances around. Kira, Allison, and Malia are giggling in the corner. "What's going on?"
Kira spins around first, her face red. "Nothing. Nothing. We were just..."
"We can't find this ugly doll's clothes," Malia answers, showing him a hideous doll.
"Uh..."
"It was Cora's," Allison explains. "She left explicit instructions that it was to make an appearance at the party."
"But it's naked," Kira adds, before she starts laughing nervously.
"Cora would hide all the clothes," Stiles says, shaking his head. "Maybe check with Laura where she might have put them before she left for New York?"
"On it!" Malia says, setting the doll back down.
"The decorations look amazing," Stiles murmurs, as he really allows himself to take in the room.
"Honestly, Derek had a lot of really great stuff in the shed," Allison tells him. "And anything we didn't find, Scott went out and bought."
"Nice." Stiles swings his thumb over his shoulder. "I think Erica and Boyd are cleaning up the kitchen for the cookies."
"Ooh, yay!" Kira says, grabbing Allison's hand. They rush past him.
Malia says, "Laura has an idea. Apparently, Cora has a secret back to her closet. I'll go check."
Stiles nods.
"Where do you want the tree?" Jackson's deep voice comes suddenly.
"And please answer fast, it's heavy!" Scott chimes in.
Stiles laughs. "That corner, please."
"I'll go get the decorations," Danny calls out.
Stiles helps Jackson and Scott set up the tree. Jackson and Scott chat about nothing of importance, so Stiles zones out and makes sure that every branch is placed perfectly.
Danny and Scott decorate the tree, and Stiles would be worried, but they know how important this is. They hang everything with extra care, and ask Stiles for direction multiple times.
♞♚♞♚
An hour later, everything is in place.
"Where's Isaac and Derek?" Stiles mutters, looking at the time on his phone.
"Coming up the drive right now," Jackson announces from the window.
"Places, people!" Lydia calls out. She turns to Stiles and says, "You ready for your big surprise?"
"Not in the slightest," Stiles mutters.
He moves towards the front door, and takes a deep breath. He had given the pack strict instructions to leave the front foyer the same. It's all part of the surprise.
It feels like forever until the front door swings open. Derek steps in, Isaac following close behind. Derek frowns.
"Stilinski, what are you up to?"
Stiles laughs. "Nothing. We just borrowed your kitchen to make cookies. That's all."
"Oh." Derek shrugs off his jacket and hangs it up. "Fine, but can you ask permission next time? You forget how potent the cookie scent is when Allison and Kira bake. They use so much sugar. It's sickenly sweet."
That's what I'm counting on, Stiles thinks. He grins. "Sure. Want to join us for a game in the family room?"
Derek glances at Isaac, who shrugs innocently. "...sure."
Stiles can't wait.
It's his best present ever.
He trails behind Derek and Isaac and despite expecting it, startles when everyone shouts "Surprise!"
"What--" Derek stammers. "What is this?"
"Merry Christmas," Stiles whispers beside him.
Everyone comes out from their hiding spots, settling into various places in the family room, and Derek turns to Stiles. "You did this?"
"Yeah. Couldn't have you celebrating Christmas all by yourself, now, could we?" Stiles asks, grinning.
"Oh my god," Derek mutters, looking over Stiles' shoulder. "Did Cora tell you about that doll?"
"Huh?" Stiles glances back and then says, "Yeah. Why?"
"It used to give me nightmares," Derek mutters. Stiles laughs, surprising himself. Derek takes a deep breath and says, "You know Cora and Laura are just in New York. It's not like they're... gone."
"I know." Stiles leans into Derek as Danny passes him. "We just wanted to do something for you. Make sure you knew that we'll always be a pack."
"I don't know what to say, Stiles. The place looks great." Derek glances around. "Thank you."
"Any time, bud."
Derek's face falls, and Stiles isn't sure what he did wrong. He takes a breath before adding, "Erica and Boyd made dinner."
"Amazing," Derek says, but it sounds different. Like he's not excited at all.
"Stiles, come settle an argument!" Jackson calls out.
"What makes you think I'm siding with you?" Stiles calls back. He pauses and says, "I'll be back."
"Sure," Derek says, as Kira comes bouncing up and wraps her arms around him.
Stiles walks over to settle an argument, and can't help but feel that saying goodbye to Derek is going to be harder than he expected.
♞♚♞♚
Now, it's a year later, and Stiles is on the train back to Beacon Hills. The train starts moving, snapping him out of the memory. He swallows. Telling Derek that night that he had been given a job offer in Vancouver had been hard.
Derek hadn't yelled. Hadn't even blamed him for leaving. He'd simply said, "That's why you did this. It's a goodbye party."
Stiles squirms, just thinking of it now.
And three hours later, he's getting off the train. He'd texted the almost defunct pack chat that he'd be getting home now. Scott assured him someone would be here to pick him up.
He just didn't expect it to be Derek.
"What--" Stiles starts and falters. He almost trips. "Derek?"
"Hey, Stilinski." It's said so flatly.
"Hi. I wasn't..."
"Expecting me?" Derek finishes for him when he trails off. "Yeah, well. Everyone else just conveniently happen to be busy."
"Can..."
"Let's go," Derek interrupts. He turns around and stalks off towards the parking lot. Stiles scrambles to follow him.
It's not until they're in the safety of Derek's Corvette that he manages to catch his breath. Seeing Derek after all this time... it's so hard.
He keeps getting flashes of memories. Of how he'd been so excited for the job opportunity. How everyone encouraged him to go, follow his dreams, and that Derek would be fine. If Derek had only said, "Don't go." Stiles would've happily stayed in Beacon Hills.
But Derek hadn't said anything. In fact, Derek had ignored every text, every midnight call, every olive branch.
"Can we talk?" Stiles asks, as they pull out of the parking lot.
"How are you?"
"No. Like... talk. Talk about how you haven't said a damn word to me since last year and--"
"And how you said we'd always be a pack and then ran away?" Derek interrupts. "Sure, we can talk about that."
"Derek, please." Stiles hates pleading, but he misses his best friend. He's about to tell him as much when Derek snorts. Anger flares up in Stiles. "Why are you acting like me leaving was the end of the pack?"
"Because it was." Derek glances at Stiles and hesitates before pulling his gaze back to the road. "Did you not get the memo?"
"Clearly not! What are you talking about!" Stiles shouts, hating that he's raising his voice to Derek.
Derek sighs and then explains. "After you left, the pack sort of disbanded. Everyone just got busy with their own thing. Lydia and Jackson travelled. Danny sort of faded out completely. Erica and Boyd do their own thing. Scott and Allison are focused on their vet clinic. Kira and Malia moved out of town. Isaac... who the fuck knows where he is or what he's doing these days. Last I heard he got a job at an autobody shop."
Stiles blinks. "What... what are you talking about?"
"You were the glue," Derek mutters. "And when you left, it all fell apart. Didn't you notice that the pack group chat hasn't been used in over six months before you decided to waltz back in?"
"I--" Stiles starts, but Derek's on a roll.
"Didn't you think about us?" he asks. Then quieter, "Didn't you think about me?"
"Of course, I did!" Stiles argues. "That's why I threw that huge Christmas party at your place! So, you'd know you'd never be alone."
Derek snorts. "Look at how well that turned out."
"Derek, I'm sorry, but..." Stiles frowns and rubs his face. "I didn't know. I had no idea. If I could go back in time, I would! I wouldn't go to Vancouver. I would stay right here."
"Would you?"
He's had a lot of time to think about this and nods. "Yeah. Yeah. I would. And you wanna know why?"
"Why?" Derek snaps.
"I miss you."
Derek's eyes are glued to the road, and Stiles wonders what he's thinking. There used to be a time when he'd just know. When they were in sync.
But the truth is out there now, so he might as well keep talking. "I miss you, you idiot. I miss how you'd show up at my bedroom window at the strangest hours, and sometimes, you had updates on situations, and sometimes... you just wanted some company. I miss how you always, always control the music in the car even though that is totally a passenger's responsibility."
Derek's lips twitch. Slightly. But it's enough for him to keep going.
"I miss the way you kept me on my toes. I never knew if you'd finally admit how you felt about me, or if I was making all the signs up in my head. I miss the way I would silently beg you to kiss me, and you'd be too busy laughing to notice. I miss the way you hug and smell and I miss the way you loved me."
Stiles lets out a deep breath.
Derek doesn't look at him, but simply pulls up in front of Stiles' dad's house.
"I never meant to hurt you, Derek." He swallows hard. "I just... I was going mad with confusion. I took the job because I thought maybe I'd take some space and sort out my thoughts. But I'm not over it. I don't think I'm ever going to be over you."
"Would you shut up?" Derek asks, but his voice is soft and there's no anger in it. "I'm processing."
Stiles nods, because he knows Derek needs time to sort out his thoughts. After all, it's a lot of information to receive at once.
But he starts to fidget. And his knee starts bouncing. And he can't contain himself much longer.
"I... I didn't know that you felt the same way," Derek finally says.
Stiles' lips part but he closes them. It's Derek's turn now.
"I'm an idiot. I'm sorry."
"You know, if you had told me to stay, I would've." Stiles rubs his hands together. "I loved you."
"Loved?"
"Love," Stiles corrects. "I loved you then, and I love you now."
"And tomorrow?" Derek asks, softly.
"And tomorrow, I'll love you."
Derek's lips twitch into a smile and that's all Stiles ever needed to see. He doesn't hesitate this time. Doesn't worry that he's making a huge mistake. Because he knows. Deep down, he knows that it was always meant to be him and Derek.
They're kissing and it's glorious and beautiful and hot and sexy and all the treasures at once.
"I love you too," Derek murmurs. "Quit your job. Move back. Come home."
"Boy, do I have good news for you," Stiles whispers, laughing. Derek tilts his head. "I quit my job two weeks ago."
Derek grins.
It's not everything they have to work through, Stiles knows, but for now, it's enough.
"We have a pack to get back together!" Stiles announces.
"Tomorrow," Derek says, before pulling him into another kiss.

A new hate blog is on the scene: Meet @no-context-endogenics
Tumblr media
The DNI is rich when your whole blog is dedicated to witch-hunting and calling out endogenic systems by name. But let's see if this blog is even living up to its own name.
Here's the first post on their blog:
Tumblr media
First... literally have no idea what's wrong with this. But second... Let's take a quick look at the pinned of this system they targeted.
Tumblr media
Literally a traumagenic system.
IN THE FIRST POST OF THIS BLOG!
To be fair, they did post to the endogenic tags, but a lot of pro-endo traumagenic systems do when users like this make them feel unsafe in traumagenic spaces.
Tumblr media
Right... which is why you posted the previous traumagenic system on your no-context-endogenics blog that claims to be about posting endos! 🙄
Also, I can't tell... are you lumping in mixed origin systems with "endos" here? It seems like you are, because the blog has a tendency of posting mixed origin systems too when it claims to be posting endos, as well as ones that just don't state their origins. Because many mixed origin systems do, in fact, have a disorder and are very public about it.
For example...
Tumblr media
Mixed origin, polyfragmented DID system.
(Also, runs some of the coolest and most important plural blogs on Tumblr.)
Another post on this blog, which I'm not including here, was from a 14-year-old polyfragmented c-DID system. That system didn't say if they were endogenic or traumagenic, but I think it's safe to assume that they were most likely at least partially traumagenic.
And no, I think systems that harm the community definitely deserve hate. People who are out there calling out systems, fakeclaiming them, implicitly fakeclaiming trauma, bullying, etc.
But systems who are just existing as endogenic... sorry... we aren't your scapegoat.
Tumblr media
I generally try to be nice with these. At least relatively.
But I'm going to fail this time.
You. Are. Pathetic.
All of you.
Endogenic systems have NOTHING to do with why systems are fakeclaimed. Do you want to know why systems are fakeclaimed? It's because systems... are weird. We are. We're a step too far from the norm and the average neurotypical singlet can't comprehend multiple existing in the same body together.
That makes us easy targets. And we should be standing together. We should be supporting each other.
But people like you are only interested in tearing us down because you're too cowardly to put the blame for your fakeclaiming on the actual fakeclaimers.
You want to talk about ruining the community, but you fakeclaim other systems. You hurt other systems. Including traumagenic DID systems. Because you're miserable and you have to inflict your misery on others to make yourselves feel better.
Have you ever been to Fakedisordercringe?
Because let me tell you, the people who get fakeclaimed there aren't usually fakeclaimed for being endogenic. Yes, of course they're anti-endo. But many who are targeted are traumagenic DID systems and it has nothing to do with endogenics at all.
Although... I guess that also applies to the @no-context-endogenics too, doesn't it? I mean, out of every post there, I think this might be the only one that's actually purely endogenic. (Not mixed origins, unknown or explicitly traumagenic.) Most of the blog is just Fakedisordercringe-style posts targeted at trauamagenic DID systems.
Tumblr media
Minor bodied? Minor bodied with over 200 headmates? Using the word "headmates?" OSDD-1b? Fictive heavy? Undertale fictives?
The cringe subreddits would gobble you all up in a heartbeat.
And you know what the most incredible part of this is???
You're supporting them!
You give them the moral justification they need. You support this ridiculous narrative that there are these groups who are causing DID to not be taken seriously by... existing... often, in the case of most endogenic systems, not even claiming to have a disorder in the first place. Just... being plural.
And you give the okay for these singlets to feel morally justified in attacking and fakeclaiming systems just like your own.
You are EVERYTHING wrong with the system community.
You're the reason systems fear expressing themselves online or in public. The reason fakeclaiming is so rampant. You contribute to this toxic environment of fear and paranoia in system spaces.
You're not defending the system community.
YOU ARE THE ONES RUINING THIS COMMUNITY!
You're just a bunch of cyberbullies.
And the same goes for anybody supporting you too.
(And before anybody takes issue with me posting this when two of the bullies acting as admins for the blog are minor-bodied, I'm just going to remind you again that another one of their posts which I didn't share here targeted a 14-year-old polyfragmented DID system, so I really don't care about the ages of the bullies in the slightest.)

I don't like making posts like this, I don't like opening my blog up for people to come and harrass me but oh my god, why does the fandom allow posts like this to get away unscathed?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You don’t have to like Marina. I'll never claim that. You can like or dislike whoever you want.
But I do wonder, if Marina was played by a white woman would we get nearly as many posts like this? Would everyone be as okay with it? Would we have been so quiet about the fact that Ruby Barker was harrassed for this role? Or would there be way more people defending her? Would she suddenly be sympathetic when now shes not?
Why are we all so okay with taking this character with a nuanced story, put in a horrible situation with almost no options and turning her into a villian?
Like did we watch the same show? Did you miss the bit where she doesn't want to find a husband at all and only starts when she thinks shes been abandoned, which she only believes because she gets a forged letter saying she was? Did you not see Portia slap her? Did you not also watch a man old enough to be her grandfather being forced on her?
Lying to Colin wasn't okay, I'm not defending that, but literally tell me what her options were?
The man she loves is dead, but she doesn't even know that she thinks he abandoned her, so she can't reasonably assume Phillip will take responsibility when his brother won't. The only people Portias interested in introducing to her are those she wouldn't introduce to her own daughters. She can't reasonably think Colin will be open to her as a wife since shes pregnant becausethats not the norm. But Colin is, he says he would have married her even knowing. And Colin also doesn't view Marina as a villian, in season two hes sad yeah, but he’s also guilty because he doesn't think she deserved what happened.
This is a nuanced messy situation but no one wants to look at that.
Like you all make it very clear you view her as a whore, because she did a very normal thing and had sex. You all view her as a manipulative snake of a person, when if she was even the Whistledown article wouldn't have been a stop for her because she would have tried to get out of it. You conveniently forget that she almost killed herself in an attempt to abort her children because of her mistreatment post Whistledown article because that takes away from the idea you've concocted that shes some villainous bitch.
But then you turn around and want Penelope to have sexual knowledge that she realistically wouldn't and canonically doesn’t. You praise her for her Whistledown work even though it keeps hurting people she loves and shes lying about doing it.
This is weird, posting about how you can't wait for a character to die, and how you hope the death is - lets be honest here- humiliating, is a bizarre thing to do.
Its even more bizarre to do that, tag the character, and then also tag two ships that really the post really isn't about.
Like why is Polin tagged? Because they're both mentioned? This isn't a polin moment. You don’t talk about them at all in the meat of the post. Why is Philoise tagged? Because she's an 'obstacle' for them? They haven't even met, they aren't mentioned at all, they have nothing to do with this.
And on top of tagging these things you say "don't try and defend her to me" which why would we you clearly wouldn't listen. You follow that with saying "If you like her you probably suck" and claim to have tagged this as anti marina when you didn't. You put this in her main tag and then added "death to marina".
Theres no respect to your peers in the fandom, and clear disrespect to people who do like this character and are actually willing to engage with the character beyond fanon portrayal. Because thats what this is its not even taking her at face value anymore.
You wonder why people dislike this fandom, specifically the polin side of it, and do things like this. We as a community need to improve because stuff like this isn't uncommon, this is just one of the most blatant I've seen.
I'm going to be entirely honest if you follow quotegirl19, or don't see the issues with Marinas portrayal and treatment by the fandom this is not the blog for you.

"You are Arya of Winterfell, daughter of the North. You told me you could be strong. You have the wolf blood in you." (Arya X ASOS)
The old gods legitimately spoke to Arya using Ned's voice in order to give her strength to leave Harrenhal. So the gods of the North is using the former Lord of Winterfell's voice while calling Arya a "daughter of the North" apparently means nothing ? Seriously though, if Sansa had a similar scene Stansas would never shut up about it and claim it's proof for Sansa ruling the North, but apparently when it's Arya it means nothing ? Typical. Just how Arya naming her direwolf after a queen and said direwolf is leading a huge pack of wolves also means nothing even though we know the direwolves names are foreshadowing for their owners, means nothing as well. And this isn't even accounting the fact that Arya fits Varys' ideal ruler speech, and all of the other rulership/queen foreshadowing Arya has which is way more than what Sansa has. Arya has also expressed wanting to build castles, is the current Lady of Winterfell by proxy, has enacted Northern Justice, has offered protection and food to a man of the Night's Watch, and has major themes of mercy, justice, and service/humility, which are all essential to being a good ruler. Stansas could only dream that Sansa had all of this, but she doesn't, and I think GRRM has put so much in Sansa's way of ever ruling the North that it has to mean something. So unless Sansa jumps through twenty complicated hoops and changes who she is fundamentally than it's highly unlikely she'll ever rule the North.
(about this ask)
"I think GRRM has put so much in Sansa's way of ever ruling the North...."
Let's sit and think about this for a moment. LF, the evil mastermind, is currently scheming how to retake Winterfell with Sansa, is working to get her the great fighting force of the KotV, and you're telling me that Martin is placing obstacles in Sansa's path re: getting North/ruling it? We have a character who has successfully schemed his way from nothing to positions of great power working to install Sansa as leader of the North and you want me to believe there's nothing to indicate she's gonna be in a position of power? We have a prophecy about Sansa slapping LF's head on Winterfell's Wall, so we know the girl goes North, we know she out-maneuvers that bastard, and you're telling me that's Martin's way of indicating it’s impossible for her to end up ruling the North?
Tumblr media
I deliberately didn't use general tags on my other posts because I know y'all screenshot anything in the anti tags to harass us, and I don't like arguing anymore because it's such a waste of time. I politely disagreed with you, I told you your effort is wasted on me, I don't know why you're persisting. In my last message, I tried to explain that all of our beloved POVs are used to discuss certain themes. I stipulated that a large chunk of Arya's story involves justice/mercy, but explained that since so many characters examine the same idea, we can't say "hey, hey! Justice=leadership=endgame queen!" I mean, Dany and Cersei are the women with experience ruling and both of them are gonna end the series dead (regardless of how you interpret Dany, tragic hero/fall arc etc, everyone knows it ends badly for her). 🤷🏻‍♀️
"Stansas could only dream...."
I don't need to dream. Sansa watched Ned handle things at court while hand, she's learning how to work people from LF, she is running a household, she's taking care of a kid, she's now being forced to charm a loser....honestly, this is stuff that is just as important for a woman to know if she is to be LoW or a queen, and let's not even get into how, while a prisoner herself she intervenes to save a life, how, although she is powerless, Martin writes her to inspire people to be more, to be better, to loyalty and protection. Don't try to pretend that Sansa doesn't have gobs of stuff that are just as easily used to defend spec she ends up in a leadership role in the North. In addition to LF’s plans we even have the other smartpants Tyrion thinking about what a great queen she would be. We’re meant to draw some conclusions from that. 😅 And, considering Martin's anti war/anti violence stance, her compassion for her enemies and her mercy are why thematically she would be part of a better future for the North.
But, we have the revelation that King Bran is Martin's endgame to factor in. I thought Sansa was destined to be a queen, King Bran has made me question it (why would Westerosi Lords select a Stark to lead them if the North goes free/has it's own queen?). So, I now look at what we might otherwise call foreshadowing with a little more skepticism. Jon literally has a raven screeching, "King" in his ear and we have arguments about a) his legitimacy and b) whether or not he will be a ruler of any kind pretty routinely, so I'm not targeting Arya when I say, nah, that's not foreshadowing. My favs are Jon and Sansa, and I now rethink what certain passages indicate for them.
Maybe it would help if you think of it this way. This isn't some sort of competition in which whoever has the more popular theory will magically manifest it or if you harass people into silence their theory will be wrong. Martin has known his ending for decades, I don't think I will ever get a chance to read it, so the only "winning" there is for us is to enjoy the fandom experience. It is a waste of your time (and mine!) to harass strangers on the internet when none of us will ever be right or proven wrong. Make your peace with us all disagreeing, forever being dissatisfied, and go have fun! The only ending I will ever get is not one that made me happy, but you don't see me making that other people's problem.

https://www.tumblr.com/leaves-in-autumn/721300657973362688/thinking-about-how-the-one-time-dick-has-a-say-in
Your tags here are pure YESSSS FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT!!!! It's Dick's role how could he not have a say in it. additionally so often the whole Tim-should-have-Robin stance seems to have undertones of racism to it? Like idk how to explain it but I get intense vibes of "Tim deserves it 🥺 not that Other Kid 😒", or vibes of "Tim is the best Robin 😤 Damin should just go back to his mom he's too violent". Y'know? And in fics it's always Dick who needs to apologize and say he was wrong, not the actual adult who attacked a child because they were given a much needed wake up call and told to grow up. At this rate Damian will be Batman and there will still be fans saying Tim should be Robin
(Gonna go on an incoherent tangent here, sorry in advance. Also if I get any of my facts wrong, feel free to let me know lmao)
I'm going to give Tim some credit and say that, despite me dunking on him in the anti tag every five days, I don't actually mind him being Robin.
He's great as the character, has some good comics, and his interactions with the Titans are actually really fun to read and write about! You know, if you ignore the blatant sexism toward Stephanie and the "most obedient" Robin agenda.
On a more serious note, it's also hard to criticize how he got the Robin role too harshly, because from a meta stance there was no way to give the Robin mantle to a whole new kid after the previous one literally exploded on Batman's watch without it feeling really iffy.
But then they decided to bring Robin back, so really there's no easy way to write "oh yeah, Bruce decides to put another kid in danger like the last one" without making it feel super out of character for Bruce (which is something that most Batman comics suffer from anyway atm) and really annoying for some Robin fans (me).
To conclude this thought: I don't mind Tim as Robin. But I would like to talk about the fact that he feels like the anti-thesis of Robin.
Let me explain. From a meta standpoint, Robin exists so that younger comic book readers can project onto a character their own age. So within canon, comic book writers have to find a way to include a superhero kid without it feeling like the adults are being negligent. In DC comics this ranges from "this is fine" to "what the fuck." I would put Dick and Damian in the "this is fine" category, while the other kids get firmly shoved into the "what the fuck" box.
To reiterate, from a meta, outside the comics, standpoint: Robin exists for kids to project onto. But inside the comics, Robin exists for one of two reasons (depending on the run). Either being Batman's sidekick, or being an outlet for Batman to help process Robin's trauma.
Dick starts fighting crime to avenge his parents and it's implied that Batman makes him Robin because he knows that he can't stop him. The same is similar for Jason (also depending on the run), where Bruce mentors him in an attempt to keep him safe and encourage him toward a better path.
The Stephanie Robin comics are really short, and the writing for her was historically. Bad in that era. But I would headcanon that Batman's reasoning for allowing her to be Robin are similar.
Going against the wider consensus on this one by saying that Robin exists because Robin needs Batman. Not the other way around (no matter how many times modern Batman writers try to push that narrative).
Tim is the anomaly (lol spiderverse moment). And I don't mind that!! Tim views Robin primary as Batman's sidekick. He's there to support Batman. Batman needs him, he doesn't need Batman.
What I would really, really love for DC to do with Tim is bring that idea full circle and create a vigilante identity for him that he needs the same way that Dick needs Nightwing, Jason needs Red Hood, and Stephanie needs Spoiler. It would actually make me crazy like Tim.
Keeping Tim as Robin, bringing him back as Robin when Damian is still the canonical Robin, is tired. Which leads me to my next point.
Damian is a great Robin. I cannot express how much I absolutely adore this angry child as Robin. Moving on from the sassy, cheerful child in pixie boots to scowling sword child is actually the funniest move DC could have possibly made.
And he's deserving of the Robin role the most out of any character after Dick for two reasons: he embodies why Robin needs to exist and Dick literally gave it to him.
When Damian becomes Robin, it's Dick (as Batman) giving Damian a role where he can do good and see how the good he does affects other people. At this point in the canon, there's no need for Tim as Robin, because Bruce is dead. Dick doesn't need a Robin, but Damian needs stability.
Damian being Robin makes sense.
Where I really start hating Tim is when we hit this point in the comics. I hate how Tim treats Damian when he shows up (not surprised tho, bc Tim is the least empathetic Robin) and I double triple hate that Tim goes by Red Robin. It's so cringey and ASLDKFJ like sir please just move on?? Like the other Robins did?
I die inside whenever I hear the argument about how Damian "stole" Robin and tried to kill him. If we're calling what Damian did stealing, then that means technically Tim stole Robin, considering the mantle wasn't even given to him the same way Jason, Stephanie, and Damian received it.
On the "he tried to kill Tim" note, I would ask readers to examine their biases because I don't see Cass getting shit for being raised as a human weapon, but Damian gets blasted to high heaven. People really like to forget that Damian was coming straight off Ra's al Ghul's brainwashing. Dick seems to be the only person to actually understand that, and he also gets blasted for taking the mantle away from Tim.
I'm not sure if the comics are explicitly racist about the Tim vs. Damian debacle (bc it's been a minute since I read that run), but it sure feels fucking racist the way fans put the only brown Robin on blast while praising their white fave.
Sorry, this was a really long ramble just to say that: I don't mind Tim as Robin, but Damian is the best one. Change my mind. (You can't.) And also please for the love of GOD stop writing fics where Batfam members "apologize" to Tim.

In my instagram stories (and reposted onto my twitter) I put up a piece about Henry Cavill's pregnancy announcement.
Don't get me wrong, I'm exicted to hear that his going to be a dad, as well as happy for him. Like, any fan just wants a celeb they like to be happy..right??
But the past 48hours-ish have proven a few things..
a few days ago, when I went to tag HC in a post. Noticed he had blocked people from tagging him. So, that looked like he (or someone in team) had planned to stop being tagged in unnecessary hate before the pregnancy announcement. Unfortunately Natalie is now bombarded with posts about HC instead.
Announcing the pregnancy via a pap walk is very weird. It doesn't feel like him. I know that realistically celebrities have NO RIGHT to show us their personal lives but when does HC ever announce anything with paparazzi around? He normally chucks news up on instagram. So, why wasn't a quick pic posted with "FYI life's changing"..kinda post? Also don't know about you BUT having Natalie be unprotected for a quick second while he gets in car while security helps her is just a odd move publicly. No,i'm not anti-Natalie. I just think something about a pap walk and not staying with her until she gets into the car is just an odd thing for him.
i pray for the sake of Natalie and Henry that they don't publicly post any details about the pregnancy/ or birth EVER. Like for their sake and mental state, they don't need fans twisting unnecessary hate.
Speaking on NO social media. I pray to god that baby never gets any public social media, let alone is thrusted into the public eye. In the past few days all i've seen is negativity and my god, that baby did nothing to any of you. Hell it's still in the womb. Why are you mad at a baby? Why are you wishing something bad happens?
HC has had a huge spike in his career since Witcher and has pretty much been saturated in the public eye since than. Having a baby is no easy task. Sure, he has money to afford nannies etc.. but like man, it's his first baby. I'd hate to hear that due to work he was away from the pregnancy and not being able to process the scans, gender reveal etc.. I'd hate to hear that due to work that he missed the birth. I get a pregnancy birth isn't ever a man's favourite thing to see BUT like..you still hold her hand, right? I'd hate to hear that due to work that he missed the baby's first while it grew up. Anyone whose got kids know how fast life can get with them. One minute their in the womb, next their 12 than 18 and all of a sudden 21. Where'd the time go? Anyway.. Like I said, I'm happy for them both and wish Henry and Natalie a huge congrats.

Just read a fic praised by the MHA fandom as being 'anti Bakugou' and 'anti Endeavor' it is don't get me wrong but there is a part where the messaging becomes awful and the story goes downhill hard.
Aizawa confronts Shoto and Izu on some concerning behaviour they have shown because of their trauma. Then Izu tells him essentially 'Our situations are shit. You can't change mine or risk Bakugou becoming a villain. You can't change Todoroki's unless you want the HPSC after you for ruining Endeavor and having the public question heroes.'
In this fic, Aizawa hears this. Then literally just nods, agrees and decides to do nothing...
Like ignore the fact that the messaging to the reader is pure ass for a moment, what the fuck kind of teacher would react like that?!
Bakugou becoming a villain due to facing consequences of being an abusive shit? Let him. Being a villain would be HIS choice and for him to face the consequences of down the line. Besides he's not an AFO level threat, most heroes could K.O this fucker (especially Izuku which would be cathartic to read) if Hori weren't playing favorites.
The HPSC going after Aizawa for exposing Endeavor as a child abusing shit and the public questioning all heroes because of it? Well, if the HPSC are going to react like that instead of rightfully condemning Endeavor then they SHOULD be questioned. All heroes should be scrutinised because how many other heroes would have similarly got away with being child abusing shits with that logic? How is that a bad thing? In fact, if they did this it would take the wind out of Dabi because he wouldn't have SO MUCH of a valid point about Endeav not facing consequences for being a abuser.
God, the way Izuku and Todoroki in this are content sacrificing their childhoods on a pyre in this to protect these two abusive shits is so, SO sad. It's even sadder that the writer paints this as a noble choice instead of recognising it being a flawed one made by two traumatised children.
Then there is the fact that Aizawa LETS them instead of telling them, 'no you both deserve a happy childhood too' or 'no I will fight for you.' This paints him as an lazy and AWFUL teacher but also a AWFUL person point blank. The fic I don't believe did this intentionally because it isn't tagged Aizawa bashing which makes it worse...
Todoroki and Izuku's other friends and the other adults in their life also all try their best to cheer them up and fail because they don't have a clue what is going on. They also become noticeably sadder as a result which is just depressing.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just so depressed and angry now having read that and needed to vent somewhere.
I'm not the type to be a hater on someones work and I wanted to know your thoughts.
I... don't think I ever read this fic.
But from what you explained... yikes.
Why do these writers want to portray Bakugou becoming a villain as the worst possible outcome? Like I get and I'm all about giving people a chance to change for the better, but you also have take into context what that person has done and if they're WILLING to take that chance and actually WANT to change!
But from what we've seen of him, he never shows any signs of wanting to change for the better and just started holding back his brash behavior. In fact I'm even more convinced that once he's an adult, he'll just start putting a front for the public to make himself look good while concealing his true personality behind closed doors.
I think the only way to make Izuku saying this phrase work is if the story acknowledges what he's saying is wrong, have some of the characters point that out to him, and have one of the adults say something like this to him.
"If he ends up becoming a villain after this, then that's his decision. We'll be there to apprehend him and keep him from hurting anymore people."
Or you can make it into more like it's been ingrained in Izuku's mind that Bakugou is a strong fighter and that if he becomes a villain, than it's all over and no one can stop him. Only to be proven wrong when the news cover Bakugou's capture and how easy it was to take him down.
And as for the second part with Endeavor, god that logic is so fucking flawed...
Did the writer of that story NOT read through that or thought twice how that probably wouldn't make sense if the reader put two seconds into thinking about it? It wasn't like the HPSC was helping him conceal his abuse or anything, that was ENTIRELY on him!
And if he does end up being exposed? So what? They got plenty of heroes to spare and I'm sure they would want to save face to keep people from bashing on them for allowing such a person to be in a position of power.
Both Izuku and Shoto shouldn't have to sacrifice their childhoods to prop up and protect these horrible people in their lives, they both need to learn that people like that needs to be cut out from their lives. And even if they're changing, they aren't obligated to forgive them and keep them close... it won't make you a horrible person for choosing not to.
That's one of the problems I keep finding in this fandom, they have a black and white view on things that they think forgive and forget is the only best option and that choosing not to will make them into a horrible person for holding grudges.

to sum up the last post for anyone who doesn't feel like reading an essay tonight
Tumblr media
ok this is the pettiest i will be about this because obv if i didn't care i'd just move the fuck on, and i SHOULDN'T care, so let this be my last little 'hoorah' on this with a little added note that i think all of y'all should consider (whether you enjoy my content or not)
rachel has all the freedom to make this comic and make more off it than i'd ever dream of making off my own work (which is like, damn, you go girl, get that coin), that's her choice to do so and none of us can take that way from her nor should we feel like trying lol literally, she's not obligated to care about what I or anyone else thinks because a lot of us are people who just spend way too much of our free time talking about this comic.
but it's our time to spend. we don't tell the fans of this comic how to spend their time discussing it and gushing over it, we can't take that away from you either, more power to you if you can love this work unconditionally.
so that said, i also have the freedom and power to do what i want with my time. even if that means sharing opinions you might think are a "stupid use of my time" or a "waste of my life" or whatever have you. maybe it is stupid but it's my time and i'll use it however i like 🤷‍♀️ especially when it's in my own space on my own blog, it's not like I'm DM'ing or tagging Rachel with my opinions, she doesn't need to see them and I wouldn't consider it in good taste to do that because it would be genuinely awful of me to think I'm entitled to forcing my opinions down RS' throat. I'm just a chronically online weirdo on Tumblr making shitposts and expressing myself in my own way. It's not that complicated.
What's ironic (and kinda shitty ngl) is that we know people have a tendency to send Rachel or her mods "proof" of the criticism from the anti/ULO communities as a way to "do good by her" and notify her of it happening. and all I can say to that is like... really? you know RS is sensitive to criticism so instead of just leaving well enough alone, you send it at her or post it in her own areas where you know she can see? what's the point of that exactly? you want to protect her from harsh criticism or shitposts, that's all well and good, but y'all are doing the complete opposite of that by taking opinions on the internet not meant for her eyes and... putting them directly in front of her eyes. as much disrespect as i may sling at rachel on a daily basis here, she doesn't deserve that - leave her alone, leave me alone, yeah? Ride The Cyclone Open Roleplay
Doing a Ride The Cyclone roleplay.
Jane Doe: Taken by me
Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg: Taken by @democracyrockzz
Noel Gruber: Taken
Constance Blackwood: @savannahwiththegreeneteyes @thenicestgirlintown
Mischa Bachinski: Taken by @max--jagerman
Ricky Potts: Taken by @krowsselfindulgy (@spacingbachelorette)
This will be the main trigger warning for the beginning of every scene:
Tw: death, unreality, body horror, implied gore, yelling, trauma, loss of identity, horny teens being horny teens
This will also be in the tags.
Any other trigger warnings should be added to reblogs as well as tags.
The concept is basically if Karnak died before ressurecting anyone. So it's just them doing silly shenanigans as ghosts, singing songs we think they would sing, and probably a bit of angst. It will mainly act as a follow up to the 2016 bootleg version, with yannick's edits of course. (If you headcanon a different performance of your song for your character that's fine.)
We will also create character sheets consisting of name, gender, pronouns, age, sexuality, sign, birthday, favorite ride, appearance, personality, backstory, and "the most _ in town." (Mine is the only one without a sign, birthday, and favorite ride. If you forget, don't worry, I can edit it in.)
It's how you imagine the characters, with a mix of headcanons and canon.
The uniforms are the same as the 2016 ones but without the plaid.
How they wear their uniform and how they accessorize is up to you.
You can interpret the characters however you'd like, but make sure to stay faithful to their base character traits. (Things like Noel being gay and Misha being Ukrainian. Also Ricky using MOBILITY AIDS THANK YOU.)
Be as descriptive as possible. (See mine and my friends character sheets for examples!)
Also me and friends are high school students, so please only other high school students!
No NSFW roleplay. Talking about sex is fine, but no actual sex scenes! I'd prefer SFW blogs too.
Characters having crushes on other characters is allowed, but it might not be reciprocated. (Me and @democracyrockzz are pretty much planning to do perfectdolls.)
Every thread will be a scene. When you want to start a new scene, make a new thread. Give a synopsis of what the scene will be about, as well as the location in the fair.
Example:
New Scene
Synopsis: The choir plays a board game.
@democracyrockz reblogged
Ocean: Guys look what I found!
(Ocean emerges with a board game)
Noel's roleplayer reblogged
Noel: Oh god, no.
It will be a public thread so people who aren't in the roleplay can still enjoy it.
No racist, sexist, ableist, saneist, colorist, binarist, pigmentist, homophobic, transphobic, biphobic, panphobic, acephobic, enbyphobic, queerphobic, xenophobic, islamophobic, fatphobic, misogynistic, transmisogynistic, body shaming, "pro-life", transid, "MAPS", pro contact para, TERF, anti semitic, anti neopronouns, anti xenogenders, anti mspec, anti BLM, anti feminist, or incel blogs.
Toxic behavior will not be tolerated. Hate comments will be deleted.
To claim your character, simply comment who you want to play or DM me.
Afterwords, write your character sheet. Take your time, the person playing Noel won't be ready for a little while so don't be rushed. (I'm getting ahead of time.) Make sure to tag me too.
Also let me know what to add to the main tw. If you plan on having your character bring a sensitive topic up, I need to add it.
I will then put your character sheet in the pinned post of my side blog @mystery-contestant. Make sure to follow it!
If you want to make changes to your already posted character sheet, edit the original post and send me a message letting me know!
You will know the roleplay has started as I will announce it on my side blog. I will be starting off the first "scene."
Also if there's something you think should be a main tw let me know!
We will be starting this summer!
Jane's character sheet!
Ocean's Character sheet!
Ricky's Character sheet!
Constance's Character sheet!
Breakdown of edits!

It would be real nice if Billy Anti's practice what they preached.
Stay out of the Billy tag all together if it's that triggering for you. Why are you in there? Why do you want to make yourself upset? If you think we are such bad people who are so racist and so abusive and 'probably hurt our own siblings' then why do you stick around?
I don't go sitting in the TERF tag because I feel the need to make myself upset. I don't want to be upset, I want to be happy and live my life the way I want too and the last thing I would want to do is put something I know is going to get seen by the people I don't like in a place where they WILL see it.
It just doesn't make sense. Do you guys know how to have fun? I know shits hard right now in life, I really do, I've not had anything going for my life since I was about 16 and I realized I had ADHD and my life wasn't just hard because I was stupid & a Millennial who was somehow ruining everything for Boomers.
The world is dying, the corporate greed is off the charts and the white Fascist Nazis are taking more and more important rolls in our life every day all over the world.
So please tell me, why do you guys want to spend what little time we have to enjoy ourselves and have fun, wanting to hurt yourselves?
Stop triggering yourself if that's really the issue, and if all you want to do is be mean to people because you feel out of control in your life and you feel like there's something you should be doing to 'make things better' then take a step back and look at yourself.
You're not making anything better by bullying and harassing people online. That will change absolutely nothing for anyone.
No ones going to get better at being anti-racist because you decided to bully someone online for liking something you don't.
No one's going to be better humans and stop killing queer and black people because you doxxed some random artist in another fascist country for drawing fictional people.
No one's going to stop the pay gaps from continuing to rise because you decided to joke around with a corporate social media and told people to kill themselves for buying something they have to use in their every day life.
No one's going to start housing homeless people and stop murdering Trans people on the street because you decided to call out someone for being racist or homophobic on a blog post and subsequently got them booted offline because all their accounts are now locked.
It doesn't do anything.
It just hurts more people and creates more hurt people who hurt people. It does nothing. You aren't being activists at all and nine out of ten times you are hurting someone who is trying to do better and trying, just like you, to just survive.
If you want to make a difference in the world, take care of yourself. Do better FOR YOU and people around you will want to do better too.
You can't force people to do better. You can't force people to want to be better. People have to want to allow themselves to start getting better and it can be hard for people to let their old pain go and start to change because change is fucking hard.
You don't get change with being a dick online. You get change by helping people want to be better, teaching people better ways of existing, SHOWING them how just being a nicer human can make your life so much easier.
Stress is a killer man, I've been having panic attacks since I was a teenager and let me tell you, it doesn't get any easier. You want to make yourself a happier place to surround yourself with because no one is going to do it for you.
If you want to see a difference in the world, then do something that can make a difference. Volunteer in your community, raise a drive for people in need, find a study that you are interested in that can be expanded upon for the benefit of the world, teach yourself a new skill that can save you money on plastics and gas, read a book by an author who has nothing in common with you, talk to people.
We aren't all singular units out here guys, we are a community and we are a people who go through bad shit all the time and we should be trying to help each other get to a better place in our lives, no matter what.

Entitled AO3 Commenters
Fam, we really need to talk about the toxic behaviour that's going on in AO3 comments these days. I know there's a lot going around about how people just want to consume, consume, consume, and move onto the next thing, and most don't even bother to kudo or comment, which is pretty heartbreaking as it is.
But sometimes, I think the folks that *do* comment, but do so in a shitty, entitle way, are even worse. Because it's like wow, you put in the time and effort to make a comment, but you were an absolute douche about it. Now, in some of these cases, I wonder if it's just young people who are new to the world of ao3 and just don't know better. Maybe they honestly don't realise what's wrong with the things they've written. So let's look at a few examples of shitty comments, and talk about why they're shitty, and what could be done to make them more acceptable.
I'm giving people the benefit of the doubt here, even when it's difficult to do so. I'd like to believe that it's just a difference in age and how we've learned to communicate with strangers online. So please, if you're guilty of these things, instead of getting angry or hurt seeing this, just think about how to do better?
So a lot has been said about the "when are you going to update again/I'm desperate for an update/" or even the *shudder* "since you haven't updated in x, I'm going to put this through an AI engine to finish the fic!" comments:
Tumblr media
Setting aside the fact that this fic is 44 chapters and over 180k words in length, and this person never left a single comment on it or any of my other fics to tell me they enjoy my work, and how shitty it feels to know your work was apparently loved and appreciated, but not enough to actually *say* that except to demand more of it, sooner... AND the fact that I have long notes on the fic and the series about why the parts are being written and posted in the order they are...
Let's talk about why these comments aren't helpful, and in fact can often have the opposite effect of what you're hoping. Authors are already likely feeling crummy about their writer's block or real life circumstances getting in the way of working on that WIP, and these comments compound the guilt we feel, which makes it even more difficult to work on. It can make us want to avoid even looking at/thinking about that WIP, no matter how well-meaning the comment.
Fic writers are real people with real lives. I only have a couple hours free time to myself everyday, and a lot of times I'm so tired I just want to do something that's mindless fun. Most nights, however, I forgo a movie or video game (IDEK the last time I played a game! and I love gaming!) or reading to work on my WIPs. Even so, these comments are a reminder that to the people reading, that's not enough. They will consume my story, not bother to thank me for it, then demand more.
Often times, you can leave the same comment going on about how much you love it, just delete the parts asking about updates and/or assuming the fic is abandoned, okay?
Next we have the 'did not bother to read the tags and/or author's note' commenters:
Tumblr media
The problem with this comment is that this fic is tagged as "no archive warnings apply" which means there is no underage content. Furthermore, while his age isn't explicitly stated in the fic, I have made it clear he is an adult, in college within the text of the story. I have the following in my author's notes at the beginning of the fic: "Tom Holland is my Spider-Man, but I have aged him up here, as he's in college, so. Feel free to imagine whichever spidey floats your boat"
If I'm going to give this commenter the benefit of the doubt (something that is increasingly difficult to do with anti culture), then at best, they do not read tags, summaries, or notes, and expect to be able to ask an author prior to reading their works to answer a comment that is already addressed multiple times.
If you're honestly worried about being triggered, or reading content you don't want to read, then I suggest just straight up avoiding fics that aren't clear enough to you from the tags/summary/notes. If you've read all those and it seems ambiguous, just skip it. Or if the story still sounds good, then maybe just skim the beginning of the story, even. Context clues are your friends, my dudes. If the character is a college student, chances are good they're adults.
The 'lacks reading comprehension' commenters:
Tumblr media
Is it wrong to ask questions of an author when you don't understand something? I actually think it's a great way of interacting with authors and can lead to better understanding and appreciation of the work. However, there are a few problems with *how* you ask a question.
First of all, the problem commenters have not previously left a comment of any kind, and don't bother to include any sort of positive feedback along with their question. They just rock up to your inbox demanding an answer to a question they have, that makes you realise they weren't even really paying attention to your work (or the source material for that matter.)
In this case, smartphones don't exist in the canon work, and only exist in my fic because the characters have suddenly been thrust into a different universe. Klaus doesn't understand smartphones because he grew up with them. He is able to quickly adapt to the new technology of the world, while others, like Viktor, are confused by it. This is all explained quite thoroughly in the text.
The 'doesn't know how to google' commenters, who might also be the 'disingenuous question' commenters:
Tumblr media
Again, going to give this commenter the benefit of the doubt that they aren't just an asshole anti. So you don't know what Thorki is, but you're on AO3, home of All The Relationship Tags. Even if you didn't think to search it there, google exists, and is your friend. Type Thorki in there, and it's not even like you've got to narrow your search or add 'ship' or anything. The top result is the Thorki page of shipping wiki, and the next several links are photos of Thor/Loki. There is literally no other result given on the first page of google.
But LBR, this is likely an anti trying to subtly shame me for shipping Thorki. In which case, I'd invite you to look at my author page and see the types of fics I write regularly, and maybe just take your nonsense elsewhere.
The 'why are you here?' commenters:
Tumblr media
Again, it's not like there's anything wrong with this kind of question! I too have seen PFPs of people on AO3 and been curious myself. The problem is, once again, coming onto one of my works and, without acknowledging the work that I've put so much time and effort into the thing they're commenting on, they just demand an answer.
What's particularly bewildering about this is that it isn't even in the 4 most recent works I've posted. So instead of just seeing my PFP and clicking on the first thing they see and asking there (still a little rude, but maybe more understandable??) it seems they were here to look at my work, and in doing so saw my PFP, and decided to ask.
Look, there's a way to ask these kinds of questions, young folks, and so I present to you
The proper way to ask a question commenter <3 :
Tumblr media
Look at that! The commenter was able to get their question answered, and I was delighted to respond to them, because they took a few lines to tell me that they'd appreciated the work it pertains to. Honestly, I don't even need that much, although it's sincerely appreciated and makes my day. But even a simple "Loved the story, it was a lot of fun. BTW--that house..." would be cool.
We've all had those times when we get a burning question reading the fic--
"Is it possible they were referencing those lyrics??? I mean, it's not a very popular song, but it seems so obvious!!!" (probably, and the author is likely gonna be super excited you know that song, too)
"Did that line mean to insinuate what it did? Is that foreshadowing? Are those characters secretly screwing?" (the author may play coy, or they might be super excited you picked up on the thing they were hinting, or maybe they'll be annoyed you ruined the surprise?? but that's on them being brought up in the Marvel era of no spoilers)
Or indeed the questions about PFP or what house/city/clothing you used as reference.
But unless you're a regular commenter, popping up with just that question is abrupt at best, and shows a lack of common courtesy. Like, okay. Imagine running up to your favourite actor/singer/author in public and instead of saying "I'm a huge fan/I loved X/you're an amazing author/lyricist/actor/etc", you just immediately start bombarding them with questions "When are you going to write a new song/What did you mean on page 126 when you said/why did you decide to write these two characters together/etc etc."
Just imagine that you are addressing a living person with real human feelings, and ask yourself, if I were talking to them face to face, would this be an acceptable way to address/open a conversation with a stranger.

Hey I fundamentally disagree with you about the ethicality of ai art. But like whatever I’m not changing your mind and you’re not changing mine
Tumblr media
I do think, however, that the phrase “you're never too old to make homestuck fanart” is INCREDIBLY misleading. Someone who is anti ai art but isn’t the best at deciphering what is and isn’t ai would 100% believe that this is human made based on that line and I don’t think that is fair. I don’t think you should be captioning ai art with something that sounds like you made the art by hand without also saying it’s ai in the body of the post (not just the tags). I don’t know. It bothered me to see that caption please just be more mindful about people who do not want to interact with ai art at all like myself
a bit of my addendum to my previous ask: I’m sure this is not your intention based on the rest of the blog but that phrase REALLY comes off like you’re trying to pass off ai art as traditional art which is not fair to traditional artists. There is a difference there and you know it. I am an artist and I do not appreciate that difference being minimized in a deceptive way. I honestly believe you have good intentions but this was not it.
respectfully: no.
a: that post is over a year old at this point, i tagged it as ai art, my blog mentions ai art in the bio, when you link the post (or my blog) from elsewhere it says that this is an ai art account. if you are getting "fooled" at this point you really only have yourself to blame.
b: i don't see what medium has to do with making homestuck fanart. would you get this pissy if i made a collage instead.
c: nothing in the post implies that i made it by hand. even if we're getting really pedantic almost none of the art on tumblr is "handmade", it's digital, but also assuming that me saying "you're never too old to make homsetuck fanart" implies that i handmade said fan art is kind of insane.
d: you said yourself that the art was tagged ai art. why haven't you blacklisted or blocked it yet. this is a solvable problem, and instead of solving it you're going out of your way to ask me to put a big fat "THIS IS BADWRONG AI ART, DON'T LET YOURSELF GET TRICKED BY THE AESTHETIC APPEAL OF IT" disclaimer on all my posts. do you not understand not only how juvenile but also how insulting this is to me?
e: moving onto your second ask, i need to point out here that you're literally inventing a problem and then getting mad at it. nowhere in my entire blog have i EVER, EVER passed off ai art as traditional art. any "deception" is, i am so sorry because i'm about to sound gaslighty here, something you are making up in your head. i have been straightforward from the absolute beginning, DAY ONE of this blog about what i do and how i do it. i have claimed many times that I am an artist, which is true, but i have never claimed a single time that i am an illustrator, photographer, painter, or traditional artist. nothing in what i said implied this equivalency that you are, and i repeat, inventing in your head. of course there's a difference between traditional art and ai art, dude! i'm literally dating a traditional artist.
this whole two-ask combo is honestly one of the most ridiculous things i've ever read. certainly not as offensive as that one dude from the other day who told me to kill myself but it's definitely up there in sheer absurdity. this is definitionally "making up a guy to get mad at in your head". all of the problems you are DEMANDING i fix are either problems with existing solutions that you have refused to implement or non-issues that you invented out of whole cloth by inserting nonexistent read-between-the-lines implications into my otherwise straightforward and blunt statements.
you are an unserious person. please do not return to my inbox.
cheers, -reach
