Somewhere In The Multiverse (W.M)
Scarlet Witch x Fem!MultiverseVariantReader! (Avengers AU)
Tumblr media
Summary: After Westfield, as The Scarlet Witch, Wanda is in her endless journey to find her boys through the multiverse until one particular universe caught her attention.
Warning: None, I guess this is just something domestic with a sprinkle of angst. Let me know if I miss anything.
A/n: Hello! I'm back! I finally got this fic done after a while. I wrote the parts towards the ending when I'm down, so I couldn't really focus. Please bear with me if some part a little wonky or doesn't make sense. lol. Anyway, happy reading!
Main Masterlist
Five long dreadful years after Vision died and a guilt filled year after everything that happened in Westview, Wanda still desperately searches for her happiness. The longing for the happy life with Vision and her twin sons drew her to the Darkhold.
To Wanda, it’s the only way for her to get them back. Being the fast learner and powerful witch she is, she easily figured out ways to look around in different universes.
Universe after universe, Wanda sees different kinds of happy life her variants have with them. She can hear her son’s laughter. Different scenarios of life she dreamt about exist in another universe until there’s one that intrigues her.
In this one universe, no matter how many times she sees through it, Wanda only sees Billy and Tommy. They live happily just like in the others but she never sees herself nor Vision in it. The more she observes it the more she is drawn to it. Questions popped up in her mind. Do Vision and her exist in that particular universe? With whom do Tommy and Billy live? Who is the person behind their laughter and smile?
Wanda spends more time focusing on it and clues start to show up. She starts to see another figure with her twin sons, you.
Wanda never gets the chance to see your face. Every single time she tries to find out, she can only see the back of you. She doesn’t recognize you, your voice nor from your appearance. All of these surely drags her curiosity up to the surface of her mind.
With all the spells and ritual she learnt from The Darkhold, she decided to pay this universe a visit.
With an ease, Wanda gets into this different life in a different world yet seems to be familiar. She looks around and she figures that she is in the house where her sons live. Wanda instantly feels peaceful. At first it felt weird for her about how much she feels like she is home.
It's really calm and quiet. The house feels warm and cozy in her heart. Just like how she always dreams about even though part of her is wondering where the twins are. All the colors, furniture and decoration around seems like welcoming her home.
Wanda continues wandering around, her sights jumping from one spot to another. She even feels that she is attached to this universe, something that she never feels when she watches the others. Her hands start to touch around the couch, the coffee table and she lands her interest on one black shelf near the televisions. She found some books, a few of them are the ones that she read before. Her fingers keep slowly sliding around the lines of books on the shelves.
Another shelf on the other side really caught her attention. A mix of rows of movies and records on it. Wanda tilts her head curiously as soon as she sees a series of old sitcoms. Including her favorite ones that she used to watch with her parents. The urge she has inside her to pull the movies out and play it but she manages to control it and just looks at them with her glossy green eyes.
Wanda proceeded to look around more. She sees pictures on the walls, other tables and more shelves. A shaky soft gasp escaped her lips. She takes a closer look at the hung frames with mixed pictures of Tommy and Billy.
Wanda sees pictures of Tommy with his baseball team and a picture of him holding a big fish that he caught when he went fishing with you. She continues looking at the next pictures. She sees a picture of Billy winning his archery competition and all other random silly pictures of both of them.
Tears started to slowly fill her eyes. She can feel her hands getting a little shakier. Without hesitation, Wanda gently touches the face of the twins in the picture lovingly. Her lips quivered, a huge wave of emotions suddenly crashed onto her.
All mixed up feelings fill her heart, even Wanda herself doesn’t even know if it was happy tears or sad ones.
She wipes her tears right after she finds a few more pictures. Pictures that have herself from this universe in it with brown hair all smiling together with you in it. She sees you kiss her cheeks in one picture and she hugs you so close in the other. Some pictures have the four of you in it, as a happy family. Slowly bits and pieces of Wanda’s own conclusion start to gather around her mind. A little stack of mail on a table caught her attention.
“Y/n Y/L/N” Wanda mumbles under her breath reading the name on the envelopes. Wanda figures that it’s your name.
All of a sudden, Wanda hears something and it breaks her focus on the pictures. She is aware that someone is coming.
She hears familiar voices and suddenly she hears Billy scream for help. “Tommy, help me!”
“My boys.” she says under her breath at the same time with red wisps showing up wrapping around her hands. Wanda was ready to fight whoever dared to hurt them.
“No. This is why I suggested you pick a violin for the music class, not the Cello. Now, you can barely bring your other school stuff because it’s bigger than you.” Tommy replies with his straight to the point thoughts.
Wanda’s red wisps quickly disappeared and she let out a relieved sigh. A smile curves on her face hearing the conversation but right away turns to a confused frown after she hears your voice.
“Tommy, be nice to your brother and help him please. My hands are full with the groceries.” Wanda notices how gentle you talk to the boys and it draws her smile back. “Okay, okay. I’ll help you.” Tommy agrees in defeat.
Few seconds later, Wanda manages to manipulate the surroundings as soon as you and the twins walk into the house. Neither you or the boys see her there. Wanda hears Tommy’s complaining question. “Who likes to listen to Cello anyways?” The boys take off their shoes in random spots while you walk to the kitchen.
“Mommy does. So do I. You boys have to be supportive of each other, okay.” You answered as you put all the groceries on the kitchen counter. “Okay, Mama.” The twins’ voices overlap each other.
Wanda was surprised when they called you Mama. Are they your kids too? What about Vision? What happened to him? With all those confused and intrigued thoughts she follows them to their room, watching them put all their school stuff back to their shared bedroom but right after that they run back to the kitchen to help you.
It was very difficult for Wanda to hold herself back to not appear in front of the three of you and hug the twins but she didn’t want to scare everybody. She continues watching in silence every move you make.
“Mama, are you going to make chicken paprikash on Mommy’s birthday?” Tommy asks with a cute tone.
“Yes, I will, sweetheart.. We will celebrate it together with her favorite food.” you answer with a soft smile. Wanda has been too busy with the Darkhold and the multiverse and hearing that reminds her that it’s almost her birthday too. Since Pietro died, Wanda never celebrated her birthday anymore, she could care less about it. Surprisingly, what she is seeing from you and the boys drags her curiosity about this whole birthday thing in the next week.
Wanda spends the rest of the day watching you and the boys, thinking that the variant of herself in this universe will come. Wanda is really curious to see her but at the end of the night she starts to wonder why the variant isn’t home yet.
Seeing you put the boys to bed and you get ready to bed after as if you have been doing it by yourself for quiet sometimes makes her think of a temporary conclusion that your Wanda probably is on a mission.
Wanda keeps going back to your universe in the last few days, watching how your days and life go with the twins. The longer Wanda is around you and watches everything, the more she sees that you are very great with the twins. You take very good care of them and it’s undeniable that they love you so much. The boys are very close with you. They make you laugh as much as you make them. It warms Wanda’s heart seeing everything. Sometimes she doesn’t even realize that a smile always curls up on her face whenever she sees you smile and laugh. Wanda’s adoration towards you slowly built up in the last few days.
Sometimes you can feel someone’s watching or even feel like a familiar figure is in the room with the three of you. There are these unexplainable feelings you feel in you. You feel like you are complete again whenever you feel that presence around after all these years. You feel.. less lonely but you shrug the feelings off, thinking it was just probably because you miss your Wanda so much.
Days have passed and today is Wanda’s birthday. Deep down she is excited to see what will you and the boys do today even though part of her knows that it’s all for her variant, not her.
Wanda sees you wake up but she can’t figure out if you look happy or sad. It’s your Wanda’s birthday, why wouldn’t you look happy? Her thought starts to wonder. You sit up but your head hangs low as your hands cover your face for a few seconds as you take a deep breath. “Happy birthday Wanda.” you mumble under your breath. Confused, Wanda’s head tilted a little.
Your hands rub your face and you try to make a smile as soon as you hear running steps coming to your room and Wanda notices everything.
The crease on her forehead fades right away and a smile comes up right after she sees Billy and Tommy come into the room and get on the bed to hug you.
“Ma! Oh great, you are awake!” Tommy exclaimed.
“Oh good morning to both of you, my little monkeys! Of course I’m awake.” You tease them as you hug them back.
“Yeah Tommy. Mama wouldn’t forget Mommy’s birthday today. She already got everything planned, right Mama?” Billy asks.
“Of course! We gonna cook mommy’s favorite dish—”
“Paprikash! It’s our favorite too!” The boys’ voices overlap competing to finish your words. You laugh. “Yes, yes. Paprikash, it’s our favorite.” Wanda accidentally chuckles watching all the sweet conversation that is happening. You quickly look back to where you thought you hear the little chuckles. You could’ve sworn you hear a familiar sound behind you and again, you feel the warm presence. Wanda takes notice of what is going on.
“Oh and the cake! Will you let us help make the cake too?” Tommy questions you and brings your focus back on them.
“Of course buddy. I always let you and your brother make Mommy’s cake. She always likes the cake you two make.” you playfully play with their hair.
“Yes!” Billy and Tommy exclaimed excitedly at the same time and did high fives with each other. “Okay okay, now go take a shower and get ready for the day. I will make breakfast for you. After breakfast, I want you to do your homeworks first before you two go playing. I will let you boys know when it’s time to cook and bake for Mommy’s birthday okay?” You gently tell them and they nod before they both run out of your room.
Meanwhile you, you walk towards where you felt the warm presence earlier. Wanda nervously takes a step back when you get closer. Her brain was sure and remembered what she learnt from the dark hold that you shouldn’t be able to see her or know that she was there after she casted this particular spell. Wanda can’t lie to herself that she feels this little spark and maybe a connection with you. Her heart skips a beat when you stand right in front of her.
“Wands, are you here? I miss you so much.” you whisper softly with a very sad desperate tone. Hearing your sad voice got her thinking that something isn’t right. It led her to pay more attention to little details that she might have missed.
Series of activities you and the boys have been doing and how much fun the three of you have  draws Wanda’s urge to show herself to you but she knows it’s not the time just yet. At least not until she sees her variant.
The paprikash and the cake are finally ready and it’s still only the three of you. Wanda is perplexed even more when you and the boys do not even bother to wait and have the dinner together then proceed to the cake.
Her own curiosity is killing her when Billy, Tommy and you sing happy birthday without the variant is even there. You blow the candles together right after.
No video call or call? What’s going on? Perhaps she is on a secret mission that doesn't even allow a simple birthday call?
At the end of the night, you put the boys to bed. Wanda follows you walk to the kitchen to do the dishes.
You look calm at first, doing your chores. The house sounds a lot more quiet when the boys are asleep, soft low volume from the TV makes its way to be heard every now and then. Wanda notices little changes on your facial expressions gradually. She thinks that you look exhausted but as Wanda is turning around to go to check on the boys she hears you start to cry.
She finds you bawling in such sadness. Wanda starts to think that you look broken-hearted. Between sniffling and crying, you mumble but clear enough for her to hear. “I miss you so much, Wanda. I really wish you were here. I wish you never did what you did. Please come back.”
Seeing how hurt you are and how you mumbled in anguish makes Wanda’s heart ache and curious at the same time. What happened? Does it mean her variant isn’t on a mission as Wanda thought she was?
You start to sob as quietly as you can. Standing behind you, she feels the urge to calm you down even though she doesn’t really know you. Her eyes slowly turn glossy. Wanda can’t help it. Unbeknownst to you, she casted a spell and made herself slowly visible.
“Y/n, I–i’m so sorry for whatever happened to your..uh partner.” She said hesitantly yet full of concern for you as she gently touched your shoulder.
Wanda didn’t think it through. What she just did startled you. You gasp loudly and turn around in a split second very very shocked. Your face instantly loses its color as if you just saw a ghost, the ghost of the love of your life.
“Wa–Wanda? Is..Is..Is that you? No. No. That can’t be you. Who are you?!” You rapidly walk back to whichever direction you can just to get away from Wanda. You start to grab whatever you can reach and throw it at her. The twins’ plastic cup, forks, spatula, coffee mug, even a roll or paper towel. Her magic dodges everything right on time before it hits her. Panic and terrified, your instinct leads your hurried steps to your set of knives. You grab them one by one, and throw it at her with the thought of fighting for your life so you can go save the boys.
Once again, the red wisps do its work. It stops each knife at ease and keeps them frozen still mid air. One of the knives was stopped an inch right before her forehead. You see that she doesn’t even flinch. Wanda grabs it and puts it on the kitchen counter gently and then looks at you.
“Who the fuck are you? You are not Wanda.” you demand answers.
“I am Wanda Maximoff. Who–” Wanda answers but you didn’t let her finish.
“No! You are not Wanda! It’s impossible! My wife died five years ago.” you denied her and your voice starts to break. A little gasp breaks through Wanda’s lips after hearing what you just said but confusion takes over the surprised feelings in her.
The little silence of shocks puzzled you and got you thinking about what she wanted. Your instinct reminds you of your sons right away. “The boys.” You mumble and you quickly run. Unfortunately Wanda’s magic freezes you on the spot and you are floating mid air.
“Let me go! What do you want?!” you confronted her.
‘Tommy and Billy are in their room.” Wanda responds calmly. “What did you do to them?! Please don’t hurt them.” you said while you try to escape yourself from the red magic that limits your movements but it was all in vain.
“They are safe and sound asleep. I’m not a monster. I’m not going to hurt you or them. I will put you down and I just need you to tell me who you are and your life here.” Wanda offers you a one way deal.
Deep down you refuse to agree but it’s for the safety of your sons, you know better not to fight her or anything. You agreed in defeat.
Wanda gently lands you on the floor as she floats smoothly closer to you.
“Now tell me about your life here. No trick and no lies please.” she requested in a very soft voice.
You swallow down your fear hardly before you start telling her your life story. “You look like my wife, Wanda. She’s– she is the most amazing woman I have ever met. I was one of the scientists for S.H.I.E.L.D but then they transferred me to work with Tony and Bruce at the Avengers compound. That was where Wanda and I met.” Your eyes get glossy. Wanda notices your sad expression as she pays attention to everything you say but then you chuckle and smile a little talking more about your beloved deceased wife.
“She was a very shy person but once she got comfortable, she would turn into a very funny, caring and talkative person which made me fall for her. She is a great mother to our boys.” you continue as your hand starts to wipe the tears that slowly overfill your eyes.
“What happened to Vision? Where is he now?” Wanda’s forehead puckered as she asked another question.
You turn your head to her and answer the question with another question. “Who is Vision? I don’t know who you are talking about.”
“Vision, he–he was Jarvis and was created during Ultron’s attack on earth 616. Us, Avengers fought him and saved the world back then. Vision became one of us and that’s when Wanda– I–I meant that was when Vision and I got closer but Thanos killed him and uh– we have the boys, Tommy and Billy years after. It’s—It’s—It’s another thing that happened.” Her lips quiver shortly before she exhales a shaky breath while holding her tears back.
What Wanda just said really caught your attention that you shift yourself to face her. “Wait, what? Ultron’s attack? Earth 616? Did you say Jarvis was born? THE Jarvis, as in Tony’s AI? Thanos? Does this mean you are from another universe and the multiverse actually exists?” you start to ramble instant lines of questions.
“Yeah, Ultron. Ultron didn’t invade this universe? What about Thanos? What happened to me–I meant to your wife, Wanda?” Wanda took her turns asking your even more questions.
“Ultron happened here but everything worked out and there was no fight between The Avengers and Ultron in this universe. Jarvis is still Tony’s AI until now.” you explained.
“Tony’s alive? Jarvis still exists here? That’s why I didn’t see Vision here.” Wanda rambles out her thoughts to herself under her breath, connecting the dots.
“No Vision was created and yes, Tony’s still alive. Everybody is still alive, except.. Wanda.” you swallow hard when the memory hits you again, so hard that your heart aches. Sadness shows up in your face again. You feel Wanda’s hand holding you and it’s insanely bizarre that you feel the same comfort that you used to get when your Wanda did it.
“What happened?” Wanda hesitantly asks you with her soft voice.
“Thanos and his army came to attack. The Avengers were at war and fought them. I had a feeling that day, when I saw Wanda fly out of the compound with everybody else that I would never see her again even though she told me that she would come back for me and the boys.” tears start to fill your eyes to the brim slowly.
Wanda doesn’t know what to say when her mind comes up with a conclusion of what happened to your wife but she knows how you feel, she senses a great loss from you. Her heart feels yours aching. Her thumb rubbing the back of your hands and you continue your words.
“I was waiting and waiting and waiting for everybody to come back, for Wanda to come back. The second I saw Natasha and Clint at the door, I knew that—” you pause and swallow the lump in the back of your throat.
“I knew that I had lost her. Natasha told me that Wanda sacrificed herself to defeat Thanos and his army.” with that, you can’t hold your tears back anymore. You break in tears, sobbing your grief out.
Wanda quickly pulls you into her embrace. “Oh, detka. I know how you feel. Grief, loss and death are so hard to accept. Trust me, I know.” you cry even more once you hear Wanda’s voice calling you with the same exact pet names your wife always calls you with.
You asked Wanda more about what happened in her universe and her life. Wanda tells you everything from her childhood, Vision and including what happened at Westview. You both end up talking about everything all night.
Listening to everything that Wanda tells you while seeing her emotions through her eyes touches your heart. Knowing that Wanda lost her parents and twin brother just like your Wanda did brings out all the sympathy you have. It convinces you that this Wanda right in front of you is not a villain. You know your wife would do the same thing that happened in Westview if it happens to her.
“So, you were saying that the Darkhold and Multiverse exist? And you are The Scarlet Witch? There is only one Scarlet Witch in the multiverse and it’s you? This is crazy. I always have a theory that the Multiverse exists. I have been doing research and trying to find it so I can find—”
“Your wife?” Wanda finishes your sentence as if she has the same thoughts as you.
“Yes.” you admit.
“That’s what I was doing. I was so lost and alone. I just want my boys back and live a happy life with them. Then I saw this universe, the boys and you. I–I wanted to see why this universe looked different, no Vision and I didn’t see me either. I meant no harm to you or the boys.” Wanda’s eyes get teary. This time you pull her to a hug to comfort her.
“I understand, Wanda.”
After all the talk at night, the connection between you feels stronger. You agreed to let Wanda come visit to see the boys and you. Wanda humbly accepts even though you requested her not to show up to the boys just yet until you are sure and feel safe around her. All Wanda can do right now is to understand your request and it’s her way to thank you for your thoughtful decision.
Day by day and weeks by weeks, the more you and Wanda spend time together, the stronger the connections between you two. Wanda starts to smile again, so do you.
The hearts know what they want, slowly you and wanda start to fall for each other. You are slowly convinced that it’s time to let Wanda and the boys meet. It melts your heart to see Wanda’s smile when you tell her your decision.
_____
Billy and Tommy sit together waiting for you after you tell them that you need to talk with them. They smile at you right after they see you walk into the living room.
“Mama, we are not in trouble, aren’t we?” Tommy asks anxiously. “No, no you are not, silly. I just have something to tell both of you.” Tommy smiles again in relief after hearing your answer.
“What is it, Ma? Are you okay?” Billy lets out her question with furrowed eyebrows.
“Oh, sweetheart, yes, I’m okay.” you answered in awe while Wanda watched everything discreetly under the invisible spell. Her heart races with excitement and nervous feelings at the same time.
“Well, Tommy, Billy, do you remember the theory that I always talk with you two about the Multiverse?” This time, it’s your turn pitching a question to them. You clear your throat as if it works to shrug off the nervous feelings you are having right now.
“Yeah, the one that you said you are trying to find?” Billy asks.
“Yes, darling. So, well, guess what? Multiverse exists!” You exclaimed excitedly.
“Really?? Wow! That was awesome!” The boys respond with such a thrill. The twins are always interested in what you are working on and sciences. Sometimes you bond with them in the lab and the three of you always have a good time together.
“Wait, so it means there are other variants of me, Tommy and you in the multiverse?” Billy curiously asks you.
You can’t hold back your happy chuckles. “Yes, there are variants of us and also Mommy.”
They both gasp at the same time. “Mommy? Did you see her in the other universe?” Tommy gets closer to you as he asks you.
“Yes, yes I did.” you answered with a smile. Bubbles of joy burst in Wanda’s heart. Warmth spreads in her seeing their positive response.
“Does she look like our mommy, mama? Does–” Billy couldn’t wait her turn to ask you.
“Do you think she knows us, Mama?” Tommy interrupts her twin brother.
“Does she love as much as our Mommy does? Can we see her?” Billy chimed in with more questions. The boys’ voices overlap each other.
“Boys, boys. Okay, okay. Calm down. Wow, you two are very curious, aren’t you?” you giggle. The Maximoff brothers nod their heads rapidly followed by more smiles.
“How about you ask her yourself?” You suggest the idea as you tap their nose gently. Wanda takes it as her cue to show up. Their mouths slightly opened in amazement as soon as they saw Wanda.
“Hello, Billy, Hello Tommy.” Wanda greets them in a shaky voice, as she tries to keep herself together, holding her tears and smiling at the same time. Wanda walks closer to them slowly, trying not to scare them away.
The boys get off the couch and walk quickly to Wanda.
“Whoa, you look like Mommy.” Tommy comments. “I am your mommy, from another universe.” her tears roll down and Wanda quickly wipes it right before she crouches down to their eye level. As hard as you are trying not to cry but this view of Wanda and the boys really gets you. Tears escape the brim of your eyes.
“Can–can we hug you?” Billy shyly asks.
“Of course! Come here.” Wanda cries in happiness and extends her arms welcoming them in her hug. Tommy and Billy hug her hesitant at first but melt into the embrace a few seconds later. Wanda pulled them closer, cherishing every second of it with every piece of her. Tears escaped her eyes as she cried in happiness quietly. She never thought she would ever feel happiness again. Never in her mind since Westfield that she would be able to hug the twins ever again.
Wanda mouthed a thank you to you and seeing how happy, grateful she is, really touches your soul. You could really see the difference compared to how she was the first time you saw her that night. Right now, you could see how she really is, a devoted mom and a gentle loving woman.
The boys pull themselves back a little from the back. “Wow, you look exactly like her.” Billy comments in amazement as his eyes examine Wanda’s resemblance.
“I love both of you as much as your mommy does.” Wanda explains as she wipes her cheeks, a little smile shows up under the wet trails of her tears.
“So, you have your own Tommy and me? Where are they?” Billy asks curiously. You know it’s a hard question for her to answer so you try to stop it by changing the topic. “Billy, Tommy, why don’t you both show mommy–uh I meant uh Wanda the new set of legos you are building. I’m sure she would love to spend time with you two while I’m making dinner for all of us.”
The four of you spend the rest of the evening together. Wanda even helps you to put them to bed. Everything went well. The boys and you bond with her so easily as if there has always been natural connections between all of you, as if she is your wife and the mother of your sons from this universe.
_____
Almost a year after, Wanda still keeps coming back and forth from 616 universe to yours or sometimes she stays some nights there. You and Wanda have been dating for a few months. Everything has been great, the boys and you are getting a lot more comfortable having Wanda around.
Just like Wanda always envisioned before, the three of them often bake together. She gets more involved with the household and all the activities that four of you can do. Showing her around and how everything out there in your universe. There are some adjustments that she has to do but she doesn’t mind it at all.
Sometimes Wanda even goes with you to pick the boys up from school or comes to their theater school play. You and Wanda love each other. It feels like you have known her forever and Wanda finally feels like she’s home, with you and the boys.
Today is your and the boys’ first Christmas morning together with Wanda and it is a big day. You, Billy and Tommy have something planned. A surprise for Wanda.
The four of you are sitting near the fireplace with matching pajamas. You and Wanda smile while watching the boys open their presents. Laughter and joy fill your house.
“Boys, are you ready?” you gave them the cue. They quickly nod and grab a bigger square shape wrapped gift.
“It’s for you, Wanda.” you smile and tell her. Wanda’s cheeks blush and she smiles right away, followed by a little excited chuckles. “Aw, you guys. You don’t have to get me a gift.” she responds.
Wanda opens her gift and smiles. “Aw, did you boys draw this? It’s both of you, mama and…your mommy? Oh all four of you are in front of the fireplace and Christmas tree. This is really cute!” She asks while she looks excited yet confused.
“Yeah, they drew it and I reprint and enlarged it.” you explain while gently rubbing her back. The boys interrupt her thoughts while she is admiring the drawing.
“It’s us with Mama and you.” Tommy and Billy race each other to tell you about the drawing.
Wanda quickly raises her head and looks at the three of you, one by one slowly. “What?” she asks softly, trying to make sure if she heard it right.
“Yeah, it’s four of us just like how we are now.” Tommy added.
“Can we call you Mommy?” Wanda gasps gently as soon as she hears Billy’s question. She is lost at words. Her lips are slightly open, happy tears start to fill up to the brim of her eyes. Before she can even answer, Tommy says another thing.
“Yeah, our Mommy.”
With that the happy tears flow freely. “Yes, I’m always your mommy. You are my boys. Of course you can call me mommy.” Wanda pulls both of them in a tight hug. She closes her eyes, thinking that this is the happiest moment in her life after years of sadness and loneliness.
Little does she know, another surprise is coming. Tommy and Billy slowly get themselves out of Wanda’s warm loving hug and stand up straight, clearing their thoughts as if they are getting ready to do something.
To her surprise, the twins start to sing a song they made specially for her. She is astonished as soon as she hears the words they sing, asking her to move and live with them and with you. The way they call her their mommy in a serenade makes her heart leap. Happiness fills her like sunshine. Wanda can’t stop smiling ear to ear.
As soon as they are done singing, you ask her.
“Wanda, we love you. Will you move here and have a beautiful life with us as one family?” you ask as you look into her eyes and hold both of her hands.
“Yes, mommy! Please! Please! Come live with us and Mama.” Tommy’s and Billy’s thrilled voices overlapped each other as they jumped around in exhilaration.
“That has been my dream since I met all of you here. Yes, of course!” Wanda extends her arms, inviting the three of you into a group hug as a one happy family.

TFP Bumblebee x Cybertronian!Reader
Tumblr media
The Groundbridge swirled with a green color as it opened in a deserted area. The bot's surroundings were covered by trees and Earth's greenery, despite being beautiful it was not the type of terrain that was easy to travel in. Ratchet had caught a new energon signal on their scanner, it was no deception signal or raw energon, but it was rather a sign of another cybertronian.
It was a mystery as to why they landed now if most of them had landed years ago, but the entire team went to investigate the mystery pod nonetheless.
There buried in the ground, was the escape pod. Optimus Prime was in front as the team had his back, all held their blasters and aimed it at the pod in case danger was near. As they neared, they could almost let out a sigh of relief to see that it wasn't a deception pod, but they still didn't know who exactly was inside. The team slowly dropped their blasters as they neared the pod.
"Who could it be?" Arcee crossed her arms as she tried peering inside the fogged-up glass. Optimus still held his blaster as Bulkhead neared the pod, using his strength to open the latch.
"I am not sure yet, Arcee. But everyone, stay alert." He took a step closer to the pod, and everyone cautiously followed suit. The latch was lifted off it's hinges to reveal a [color] bot, a couple scratches, and dents littered their frame as they lay unconscious. While the rest of the team wasn't phased, Bumblebee nearly malfunctioned right on the spot. It couldn't be...could it? He thought it was impossible, that he would never see you again. The last time he saw you, your hideout on Cybertron was raided by Decepticons and you had stayed behind. The amount of guilt that troubled him even on Earth was unbearable, he thought you had offlined. He thought he had lost you.
"Bumblebee?"
Optimus' voice snapped him out of his thoughts, he didn't realize he was still staring at you as his servos slightly shook. Optimus looked at him expectedly with a concerned look across his faceplates. He faced the Autobot leader and responded with a series of beeps.
"I know them! They're Y/N, m-my partner. I thought they were dead, I thought I got them killed, I thought-" Bleeps and beeps came out jumbled and were barely discernible by even those who understood him. His servos gestures all around before he looked at you again. He tried to reach for your body before Optimus placed a firm servo on his shoulder.
"We should get them to base first, Bumblebee. It is not safe out here for them, the two of you will have your chance to talk once Ratchet tends to them." He sent him a hint of a sympathetic look, he knew how much Bee wanted to hold you and speak to you again right now, but Decepticons could be near. In the end, Bumblebee nodded and carefully took your body from the pod, carrying you all the way back.
Bumblebee fussed about you all while Ratchet took care of your minor injuries and as you were waking up. In a room full of bots you didn't recognize, a bright yellow mech caught your optics as soon as you onlined. Even you couldn't believe it, your optics locked and you swore you felt so young again, if only just for a split second. Suddenly you were staring at the same Bumblebee you thought you lost, the one who you thought you would never see again. Also the same bot who you had fallen in love with when everything was okay on Cybertron. You were both different now, having plenty of experience in a war that was ongoing and uncompromising. That seemed to not matter as you both embraced each other, your grip tight as you wrapped your arms around him. You expected to hear his voice greeting you, but instead, bleeps and fragments of cybertronian came out of his vocalizer.
"Oh, Bee..what happened?" You gently asked as you still held onto him, it still felt impossible for you to be reunited with him again, and yet he felt the same way. He shook his helm and held your servos in his.
"You have no idea how much I've missed you, Y/N." The beeps whined as he gazed at you with his bright blue optics. Despite all the years he'd gone without you, you were the only bot that he held dear to his spark. It would be a tough adjustment, getting used to Earth and having to know about the still ongoing war; but being with Bee would make it better. A lot better.

Entanglement Chapter Twenty-Four
**Y/n's POV
The cries on the battlefield felt like they could be heard for miles. The blood-curdling screams of the soldiers sounded never-ending. As Calyx and I moved through the air clearing some of the smoke we went to make our final strike on our remaining enemies. Looping around the field we had a clear line of sight towards our targets. When we got closer to them I could see the horror on their faces as they heard Calyx let out a roar. Being a few feet away from them I could see them running in the opposite direction trying to flee. If only they surrendered this could have gone a different way.
Tumblr media
"Volaris", I yelled, and those screams came to a halt as the flames consumed the remaining soldiers in my line of vision.
The wind started to pick up dissipating the smoke around us yet I was still finding it hard to see like at the beginning of the battle. As I peeked through my eyelids I could make out what was blowing in the wind. It wasn't just smoke in the air but it was the ashes of fallen soldiers destroyed by the blistering heat of the fire. Part of me didn't know how to feel about this entire situation. I could now see what the books meant about all of the chaos and destruction that can be caused when dragons are used in war. Dragons may be able to win wars but the question is at what price and how far one is willing to take it.
While contemplating today's events I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of a horn blowing. The sound could only mean one of two things. One, that the battle between Tir Asleen and King Larkison was over, or two, that one of these armies had surrendered. I know that can't be the case since pretty much of Larkison's army was obliterated a minute ago.
To figure out the outcome of the ending battle I looked over my shoulder to see Ser Easton waving me down to where he was. Alongside him, I could spot Boorman, Amara, and Kit. Around them, all were Tir Asleen soldiers looking up in my direction as Calyx soared through the sky looking for a place to land nearby. I couldn't see any of the opposing sides' soldiers which either meant they were all dead or that some had escaped during battle. I was really hoping that they were all dead, I know that sounds terrible to wish that but if the King were to find out about what had happened today. How Tir Asleen won the battle against him I don't want to think how much trouble it could bring upon both kingdoms.
When Calyx started to make his descent towards land I caught a glimpse of Kit and I could see what I could only describe as relief on her face. Part of me questioned if it was due to Tir Asleen winning and her kingdom along with the people were safe or that I was. Perhaps it was both but I am sure it was mainly our victory that had her so calm in that moment.
As I continued to look at Kit something obstructed my view and as I got a clearer look it was Amara who had stood in front of her. From behind her, I could see the once relieved expression Kit just had on her face change to an annoyed one as she bore her eyes into the back of Amara's head. I kind of thought it was funny I even let out a chuckle with a head shake. I didn't think it was possible but Kit Tanthalos, Princess Kit Tanthalos of Tir Asleen was jealous. As a matter of fact, she was jealous that Amara had gotten in her way. At that precise moment, it looked like that vein in Kit's forehead was about to pop she was so angry. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who noticed a pissed-off Kit I could see Boorman slowly backing away from the fuming girl as though she was about to commit murder.
Tumblr media
**Kit's POV
When Calyx and her landed it felt like the ground beneath us had shaken. As he let out a roar it was what seemed to be a warning to those around him. The soldiers ran out of the way to avoid the possible wrath that was to come from him. It seems Y/n was right, dragons do not particularly like humans except her. It is as though he calmed down when she ran her hand across his back. Once she had done so he leaned his body down more the grown and she climbed down from his back. Calyx looked at her the entire time almost as if he was making she wouldn't fall. It's safe to say that he would never let anything happen to her which left me relieved and grateful for that notion.
Once she was on the ground I started to make my way over to her when in the corner of my eye I saw someone with a crossbow aimed in her direction. I screamed her name to get her attention but I was too far away for her to hear. I could see that she was checking on Calyx looking over his body to see if he had any wounds. I looked back at the soldier and took my bow from around my back with a single arrow. I called her name again as I ran over to her and it seems this time it got her attention. She looked at me with a confusing expression and could see where my eyes diverted to. As she looked over in that direction her eyes widened as she focused on the crossbow fifteen feet away from her. It seems that Calyx had noticed as well and was getting prepared to fire. I ran faster to her but I couldn't get there in time as the man was about to shoot I quickly aimed my arrow towards him and let go. The arrow glided through the air going in the side of the soldier's throat. He dropped the crossbow and fell to his knees holding the wound that was spewing blood. As he fell on the ground it looked right at me and the last sound that he made was that of him coughing up blood.
All around me it fell completely silent and all eyes were on me. I turned around and could see Y/n looking straight at me almost astonished at what I just did. I hope she didn't think that I wouldn't just let her die. Could she really think that low of me, but who could blame her right? It still hurt though I do care about her and would never want anything terrible to happen to her.
As we held eye contact for what seemed like hours but was only a few minutes she started to run towards me. At that moment I didn't know what she was going to do. If she was going to yell at me saying that she didn't need me to save her or that she could have handled it herself. I was waiting for the backlash of my actions with my eyes squeezed shut when all of a sudden I felt a pair of arms around me. I slowly opened my eyes and it was her, Y/n was hugging me of her own free will. I didn't know what to do at that moment whether it be to return the hug or just wait for her to let go.
"Thank you", she said with sincerity as a small smile came across her face.
"Anytime", I told her hoping she knew that I meant it. Before I could say anything else to her Ser Easton came dashing over to the pair of us.
"Are you ok, Princess", he said while checking over her to see if she was hurt in any way.
"No, I'm fine thank you", she said and looked over to me.
"If it wasn't for Kit I would most likely be dead right now."
Ser Easton then turned towards me and gave me a small nod to acknowledge my actions. He then turned back to Y/n asking her questions.
"Why did you come? You said that you would not use a dragon as a weapon?"
"A few days before the battle I couldn't stop that nagging feeling in my stomach telling me I needed to do something but I couldn't. I didn't want to use Calyx or any of the others to cause mass destruction or use them to do my bidding like those have done before me. That day my emotions got the better of me and I started to think of all the terrible things that could happen to everyone if Larkison won. It was then Calyx must have felt what I was feeling inside and allowed me to use his help when it came to Tir Asleen's safety", she said and looked over to Calyx who now seemed to be resting.
"Thank you", I told her and she looked in my direction.
"If it wasn't for you Tir Asleen would be in shambles right now", I said and everyone around me whispered agreeing with what I said.
"Your welcome."
At that moment Amara ran straight to Y/n almost tackling her to the ground with the hug she was giving her. Y/n looked like she got the wind knocked out of her when they collided.
"I'm so glad you are in one piece", Amara said with a bright smile.
"Yeah", Y/n said while her eyes skated toward me. It seemed Amara noticed and she blocked her line of sight. With that my heart started to sink even though Y/n was grateful for what I did I still couldn't help it that Amara was the one she truly cared about.
With the two being in deep conversation and Ser Easton talking with our soldiers my mind started to wander. I went back in time to when I first met her and everything that happened ever since. With my thoughts starting to take over the feeling of a hand on my shoulder snapped me out of going deep into a rabbit hole.
"You ok kid", I hear Boorman say as he looks me in the eye clearly worried about me in this situation.
Tumblr media
"Yeah, I'll be fine", I stated turning to look back at Y/n and Amara who were laughing.
"You know Amara may be her best friend but you are the one she is married to", he whispered.
"I don't think that makes a difference. After all, we were both forced into this and I didn't make it easy for her. I don't think I can make her happy clearly not like Amara can", I said pointing to them.
"Don't give up not yet. Not until you think that there is no going back and there is no way you can fix what happened between you two."
"I don't Boorm-"
"Promise me, Kit", he said with a stern voice.
"I promise."
When our talk ended Ser Easton had come our way along with the Y/n and Amara. I couldn't stop staring at her not knowing what her next move would be or what she would say whether it be to me or someone else even though I was hoping it was me.
"I talked to the rest of the soldiers they have found no remaining enemies", Ser Easton stated.
"That's great", Y/n said.
"I also talked to them about what happened here today and told them if they knew what was good for them they won't utter a word to anyone about this."
"Wait a minute, you expect us not to tell anyone about what happened today. Larkison's army way obliterated when people start to question how exactly are we going to tell them", Boorman said looking at Ser Easton questioningly.
"We aren't going to tell them anything. We are going to just have to come up with a cover story and make sure the soldiers stick to it", Amara said.
"Now how do you propose we do that?"
"I don't know but we will think of something. We obviously can't tell people that dragons exist and they just burned the opposing army to the ground. Think of the mass hysteria that would arise", I say.
"Something seems so wrong abou-"
"Please Boorman no one else can know about what happened on this battlefield today. Think of what they would do to them if this were to get out", Y/n said pleading with Boorman. He looked deep into her eyes and could see the worry that she feeling and knew what he had to do.
"Ok, I understand."
"Thank you", she said giving him a quick hug before returning to Calyx who had woken up from her prescence.
"Where are you going", I asked her following her.
"I am going back to Dristarya", she said climbing onto Calyx's back.
"Wait, what? You can't go back."
"I have to that's his home. It is the other dragons' home I can't just leave them."
"Please don't leave", I said and she gave me a sorryful look.
"I'm sorry I can't", she said with sadness and turned to Ser Easton.
"Will you be staying here for the time being", she asked him.
"I will. Only to settle what has happened here then I will inform your parents that I will continue my search for you", he said and she gave him a slight nod before looking back to me. We held eye contact for a couple of seconds before she and Calyx took off back to Dristarya. As I saw her getting farther and farther out of my sight that sinking feeling I had earlier returned where my heart ached in her absence.

At death's door
Summary: Based on the OG MW2 mission at the end when you go after Shepherd. I saw a video with a mod where Ghost save your butt and I had to do something about it lol
Warning: Violence, description of injuries/pain
Words: 1.6k // Masterlist
A/N: Hey haven't posted in a while. Kind of hit a weird no inspiration bottom, I struggle to write anything and then went on vacation for few weeks. Anyway this one is an old one I wrote. Is it cheesy? Yes. Do I care? No. Do I like writting cheesy fic based on things? Yes!
Tumblr media
After the violent heli crash, she considered herself lucky to have come out in one piece. She was still disoriented, head spinning, ears ringing but she couldn’t stop now. Not till she was sure the threat had been eliminated. Her radio was cracking in her ear, not chatter only broken noise. The smell of fuel and burn was choking her as it mixed with the dust and wind. Scotty pushed herself up, she must keep going. He couldn't escape them, not again! Not after all he had done! Every part of her body screamed in pain as she made one step after the other. She dismissed all of that. Her hand looked for her gun, gone. Instinctively she looked for her knife and found it still strapped to her vest. Despite the low visibility, the sergeant spotted the man escaping, with also some difficulty. With a groan, she pushed herself after him, following him till he had to rest against an abandoned car. Maybe he had not seen her, maybe he had, it didn't matter. She kept approaching him. She had to finish the job! Painfully, Scotty raised her armed hand to plunge her knife in his shoulder, but he was quicker. She had underestimated the state he was in. He grabbed her arm, stopping the knife from stabbing him, his hand wrapped around her wrist and the other pressed on the back of her head. It all happened so fast, she had no time to react. Her head hit the top of the car hard. Pain jolted everywhere in her face, she tasted blood in her mouth, breathing through her nose was near impossible. She fell backward on the ground, knowing that he had broken her nose. But this would be the least of her worry as he took hold of her knife. A groan escaped her mouth to protest, but as her mind tried to recover from the previous hit, she was powerless to stop him from stabbing her in the chest. The pain was quick and was the last straw her mind could endure at the moment. Her vision blurred for a moment. The man stood at the top of her, reloading his gun. She saw his lips move but the words were lost in her dizziness. The gun pointed at her, Scotty had no strength to fight back. The shot fired, just as she saw Ghost tackling the enemy with such brute force, he might have bruises. Between a moment of consciousness, Scotty watched him wrestling with the man. The gun went flying far from them and took her chance. It was difficult, but she crawled to it as the two men landed punches on one another. Her hand was only a few inches away from the weapon.
Ghost was overpowered and thrown on the ground, he let out a groan as his back hit the rocky soil. Her fingers brushed the gun, she could make it! Till a huge boot landed on her wrist. Her eyes lifted to see the enemy above her and then another painful impact to the face. All went dark.
Ghost was already seeing red, but him kicking Scotty in the face like this sent him to the edge. He had no control over his emotions anymore. Not since he saw in the distance when he stabbed her. If only he had been a few seconds faster! He could have prevented that, at least he stopped the gunshot. He pushed himself back on his feet, ready to wrestle the man again. As much as a part of him wanted to tend to Scotty to make sure she was still alive, he knew he couldn't till the threat was neutralized. He jumped back into action, punching and kicking the man, trying to gain the upper hand. He let out all the rage he was feeling, which drained his energy faster than he thought. If at some point he got the man on his knees, Ghost found himself back on the ground quickly. He stood back to return to the favor. But eventually found himself knocked down by a punch to the jaw. The lieutenant had no time to catch his breath or stand back, the man took advantage of his position, sat on Ghost's chest and let a rain of punches on his face.
Meanwhile, Scotty was floating between in and out of consciousness. Only when she saw Ghost being hit repeatedly to the face did she force her mind to stay awake. She needed to act fast. The knife still in her chest, she thought using it against the man, but that would compromise her situation. It was a high risk move. However she had no other option, this was the only weapon in her reach. If she didn't do anything, they were both gonna die. It was a fifty-fifty situation. With a shaky hand, she grabbed the knife's handle. Teeth gritted, she pulled on it. The pain was atrocious yet she pushed through. A silent cry escaped her mouth as the blade came out. She skillfully flipped the knife and aimed it at the man. What would usually be an effortless throw turned into a monumental one. Her mind was on the verge of blacking out again. Thankfully the knife landed directly in the man's eyes, as he was taken by surprise. He fell back down, lifeless. Scotty lifted her head to look at the lieutenant he wasn't moving. "Ghost…" She weakly called out. "Ghost…fuck… Simon!" Her breath was hard and uneasy. Her vision began to blur again.
Ghost finally recovered his senses, when he heard her call his name. He coughed some dust, flipped on his stomach and pushed himself up. He stumbled his way to her. She was still conscious but for how long? The wound was bleeding. Badly. "Fuck fuck, Scotty! Hey! Hey! Stay with me!" He grabbed some cloth pieces he had and applied applied pressure on it. Her eyes had difficulty staying open. "No, you stay awake. Eyes on me sergeant!" He ordered her. Scotty tried to do it, her head heavily turned to him. In the distance they heard a heli landing. Ghost's head lifted up to see who it was.
"Price! We need medical evac now!" Ghost shouted. It was maybe the first time the captain heard worryness in his tone. Without a second thought, he helped Ghost lift her up and took her to the heli where Soap and Gaz were still in. Nikolai pulled the stick and the engines roared to lift the vehicle. Scotty tried to keep her eyes open but they felt heavier and heavier. Ghost squeezed her hand. "Camille, stay with me. You are not allowed to die, understand?"
A faint smile grew on her lips before her eyes closed. Ghost grabbed her shoulder and instinctively started to shake her. She didn't move. "Camille? Camille fuck wake up! Camille please!" Price had to be the one to tell him not to do that and checked her pulse. It was weak but still there. Soap had to pull Ghost away. He could see how tense he was.
"She will make it Ghost." He tried to reassure him. "She is a tough one."
They landed at the base, Scotty was declared in a critical state. Ghost followed as much as he could, till he was blocked at the operation unit. The 141 waited hours. Gaz and Price alternated in pacing back and forth. Soap remained seated but his leg kept bouncing. Meanwhile Ghost remained the most silent of all. Whenever they tried to speak to him he didn't say a word. Even if he would try to deny it, they all saw the tears who would roll down the corner once in a while. He lost so much in his life, but he didn't know if he could handle losing her. The doctor eventually came out of the unit with a face that was impossible to read.
When she reopened her eyes, the room was clear of all the dust she remembered. It was calm, beside a soft beeping noise in the background. Her eyes looked from left to right. The headache was gone, her nose felt better she could breathe with it again, the pain in chest had died down. Her mouth was dry, her eyes looked everywhere for a source of water. Her mind was always clouded, her surroundings not entirely clear to her. She felt something on her hand. It was heavy and warm. She squeezed it and heard a shifting noise. Her head slowly turned in the direction of the noise and saw him. Ghost was there, waking up from his slumber. "Hey." She said with a hoarse voice. "How long have I been out?"
"Four days." He replied so softly she almost didn't hear him. His hand squeezed her fingers harder. "How are you feeling?"
"Like shit. And hungry." He scoffed at her answer. He stood up from his seat, took off his mask and pressed a kiss on her forehead.
"I thought I lost you." His voice was breaking. "You know how dangerous it is to remove a knife from a stab wound. What if it had…"
"It hasn't. Ghost, I know it was a risk, but so was doing nothing and letting that bastard beat you to death. I'm lucky he didn't stab anywhere fatal."
"Never do that again. Going alone after someone… never." His hand cupped her face, holding her close to him. His forehead against hers.
"We both know I will." She laughed. She winced when a small spark of pain jolted in her chest. "I love you, Simon."
"I love you too, Camille."

warnings : angst (really depends how you perceive this piece)
[1:26am] Five missed calls. That's how many times he called her since the news broke. Media outlets released the story around midnight. Despite all the fight they put in to stop this exact situation from happening, nothing worked. Several media outlets reported her and Changkyun to be dating for nearly two years, and in a matter of seconds her phones started pinging nonstop. Ranging from nice messages to a world of hate and death threats and many other vile things she wouldn't wish on anyone. Her phone pinged again and she glanced at it where it sat on the closet floor.
Changkyun : Answer your phone.
He called again. She didn't answer. She was too overwhelmed. She didn't even remember how she ended up sitting on the closet floor sitting in the dark. She couldn't move. Not when she felt her whole world has stopped. That's the thing about their relationship. It wasn't a secret because of what the world would think. It was a secret because it protected her and her privacy, and now.... Now... that privacy is being threatened.
After a few minutes of her sitting in the dark, that's when she heard him. The sound of him slamming the front door pulling her out of her thoughts.
'Babe!' he yelled, as he made his way up the steps. She didn't respond. How could she? She didn't know what this all meant for them. She was scared to say the least.
After a few minutes he called out again, 'Babe! Where are you?'
She heard him enter the closet before she saw him. He was breathing heavily as if he ran a marathon. The exact moment he spotted her his breathing relaxed. He went to turn on the light in the closet but she shook her head. The light from the bedroom creating enough of a glow to see in the darkened room. He left the door cracked and made his way over to where she was seated on the floor.
'Baby, are you okay?' he asked, kneeling in front of her. His hands lightly touching her cheeks finding wet tears silently flowing down her face. She let out a soft sob, not being able to answer him.
'Shhh. It's okay, I'm right here' Changkyun spoke softly, pulling her head into his chest. She silently cried in his chest. His arms wrapped tightly around her.
'Im so sorry...' she said into his chest. A chocked sob escaping her.
'No. You have nothing to be sorry for and I'm not going to apologize for loving you either.' he said, kissing her head softly. She felt a tear fall down his cheeks onto her hand and looked up at him. To her surprises, he was crying too.
'Are you okay?' she asks him, shifting so she is sitting in his lap, facing him. Her small hands wiped his tears off his cheeks as she pressed soft kisses onto his reddened face, where his tears were falling. He rested his head against hers.
'You always do that" Changkyun says softly. Taking a deep breath. His eyes closed and he controlled his breathing.
'Do what?' she asked, her hands comfortably playing with the small strands of hair on the nap of his neck.
'Calm me down when I should be calming you down. I'm sorry' he finally says after a long pause.
'Thats not how it works babe. We're in this together. I never want you to hide your feelings for the sake of mine. I want to be there for you in the same way you are to me' she speaks softly, he kisses her softly. His hand landing on the back of her neck, pulling her closer.
'I love you' she says says against his lips.
'I love you too' he says. Her chest pulling tight for what all this may mean for their future,. 'I need you to know th-' he says but she cuts him off.
'Dont. Not now. Not ever' she said, pulling a way slightly to look him in the eyes. This is the first time tonight she fully looked at him. His eyes were bloodshot but he still put up a strong front. But she knew. She knew him better then anyone. There was a war going on inside of him, both in his head and heart. He shook his head at her.
'Please.." his voice cracked as he spoke, 'I have to say this.' Changkyun looked at her with pleading eyes. So she nodded. Fresh tears threatening to spill from her eyes. He took another deep breath.
'I want you to know that if it gets to much you can walk away. I will still love you as I do today tomorrow and every day after. But if you can't do this. I understand.' Changkyun spoke, his voice cracking with each word, as tears fell from his face. She reached to wipe more of his tears.
'Is that what you want?' she asked, biting her lip trying to keep a sob from escaping.
'No. Not in a million years. But I don't want to be the cause of your pain.' he spoke, looking at her as if this might be the last time he ever sees her. Her heart was breaking with each word. He's got is all wrong. She leaned her head back against his.
'You're wrong. In all two years of our relationship, you haven't brought me an ounce of pain. You brought me a world of happiness and I wouldn't give that up for any other person or for anyt reason. I'm going to fight for you. For your love. Whether you think I deserve this or not, doesn't matter to me. Because I want this. You want this. And we deserve this. So you're going to have to try harder to get rid of me' she said the words in a rush, trying to get her point across because she couldn't bear to see the man she loved breaking right in front of her eyes.
He let out a chocked laugh and kissed her roughly. His tongue teasing her bottom lip, begging for permission. She opened her mouth. Their kiss wasnt like any they've ever shared before. This one spoke without the words. Solidified that they will fight for their love because they deserve it. He pulled away, biting her lip as he pulled away.
'We'll survive this, you and I. We will,' he spoke against her lips. His arms tightened around her wasits. She nodded.
'Never let me go.' she said, burying her head into his chest and Changkyun hugged her tightly.

And suddenly, the world was silent.
"Vyn falls into his knees as he burries his face into the polished floors of his castle, now emptier than ever as muffled pained sobs escape his lips as you slowly fly away from his grasp, leaving his once bright world now left with despair and darkness."

Genre: Angst
Warning/s: Nothing really?? Uhh the people of Svart and vyns stepmom just being shitty
A/N: this was made at 11pm nobidy talk abt the horrible writinf mkay
Not proofread so I apologize for any misspelling
Tumblr media
The cursed customs of the royal family was one of the many things he hated whenever he entered the borders of his homeland, Svart once more. The disappointment and dissatisfied looks of those of equal footing of him piercing through his dear lovers heart as they walked around the streets. The way that everyone whispered amongst themselves whenever you walked past them, talking about how "You're wasting his time" with your presence with him alone. What he hated more was the fact that despite already being the duke of his land, he couldn't do anything about it. The prying and judgemental eyes of the public remained fixated on you as you struggled to keep up with your duties as officially a part of the royal family. He hated how every time he looked at your direction, he could spot the ever so subtle hints of insecurity with your own skills as the lone person to stay by his side brings a bittersweet ache to his heart.
—————————————————————
"You really think that you're deserving to stand by Vilheilm's side?" The mocking tone of Vyn's stepmothers' voice sends shivers down your spine as she looks down on you as if you're nothing but a piece of dirt. "Now, don't get me wrong, I couldn't have cared less for that—ungrateful idiot but, marrying a commoner? He must've lost his mind!" Vyn tries to stop her stupid advances towards you but the pure rage of the woman and all the judging eyes looking at you fills you with a sense of gloom and self-loathing. Vyn's futile attempts in reassuring you falls into deaf ears as you get up and excuse yourself. Once again, Vyn is reminded of all the old fears of ever coming back to this cruel, hatred-filled land.
One of Vyns' biggest fears were that one day, you'll grow tired of the treatment that the people of Svart is giving you and that you'll eventually leave him by himself once more how it was before you, the light of his life came. He knew that no matter which path you took, fate and destiny will always bring you apart just like how it was for his parents. So, the moment that he wakes up and feels an unusual chill as he sat up to see you no where to be seen, his stomach caves in on itself as his heart sinks. He runs around the enormous castle built just for the bith of you omly to find nothing else but a note.
"I know we promised eternity, but if the eternity that I'll spend with you is filled with pain and suffering, what kind of comfort will that give me? It's as clear as day that your people don't want a commoner for a queen so I'll take action. I wish for your safety and happiness which is why I'm doing this. I want to apologize but I know that no amount of apologizing will ever be enough for this. I wish you well."
He was unaware of the past few minutes that passed as he read the letter sealed with a wax of his family crest but somehow, within that time frame, pools of sadness formed from his eyes as it all went down, leaving a trail down his face. He holds the paper to his chest as he curses at himself for failing his duty as your lover.
"Just as how you say that no amount of apologizing will make me forgive you, I feel mutually the same. I was wrong to never have did something to protect you and our love and now I know that you deserve someone else willing to destroy the whole worls for you if it ever comes to that."

Vibe
It was late at night and I just couldn't sleep. I had gone to London for a meeting and now I was awake. You know that feeling. The spot just between being frustrated at not being able to sleep as it transitions to just accepting being awake. So I did what any sane person would do.
I went for a walk.
OK, sanity is relative, but the air was... meh. Nothing really helped. I starting feeling dumb from going out. Then I heard the beat. It was like some electronica. Someone was having a rave. Except... was that a saxophone? It pulled on my curiosity like a cat trying to unravel the crocheting.
I found a church, but what was going on inside would pull bobbies from miles around to break it up. I approached the door and she smiled. I asked if there was admission and she said yes there was if I entered.
It was one of those. Where everyone was being weird by being themself. The kind that you murmur to yourself when you're out of earshot and wonder what kind of movie you'd get if you took Escape From New York and cast it with theme park mascots then act dismayed when it doesn't win an Oscar for Best Use Of A Trout In A Romantic Scene.
The good kind of weird.
People there were just talking and being real. I walked around. Talked to them. Sipped from giant plastic cups that tasted like sweetened, watered-down margarita mix, except it was good. Nobody cared I was there but they were glad I came. The music was just all over the place where you felt like you could just dance the world away but you'll sit this one out, maybe the next song.
And all over, I saw her. Making sure people were taken care of. Explaining how Vibe operates (apparently that's the name of the place). They've been operating out of London for years. Always after midnight. Just look for some stuffy old church where this sort of thing would be frowned upon. It was a specific phase of the moon. Hope you're having fun.
Not once did she check on me. I wondered about that. Maybe she knew I wouldn't be back. I had fun and that's all that mattered to me. I tossed out my cup and headed for the door. Sun was coming up and I knew at sunrise, the doors would close.
She met me at the doors. "Don't go yet. I need to tell you how to get back." She grabbed my hand and started pulling me along, describing things I couldn't quite grasp even now. There was one point where she was showing me photos of a funeral for a couple insects.
I commented, "It's like trying to remember a dream."
She smiled, "I think you got it. Come back any time you dream."
I laughed, sadly. "Thank you, but I can't control my dreams anymore."
"Everybody says they... wait, what do you mean you can't control them anymore?"
"When I was younger, I learned how to dreamwalk. I saw the most vivid things. Beautiful lands. Horrific nightmares. Things that you;'d think the mind could never conceive. I played with them all. But I gave it up. So I could actually dream again."
She was sad. Give a puppy to a kid, watch them in delight, and then take the puppy away. That's how she looked. She was on the verge of tears. "It's not fair."
"It never is."
=============
I woke up at 0548. I swear I could still taste that fake lime flavor just under my tongue. My wife was still sound asleep, but I couldn't lay there. I had to get this down. I woke up sad that it was over but glad I had been there. Some might call it bittersweet but it was more soursweet to me.
Just like the drinks.
So if you find yourself wondering around London late at night during a specific phase of the moon, try checking out some of the churches. You might just find an electronic beat. Where the drinks are taste cheap and taste so good. With music you can dance to but don't want to right now. And people you enjoy and will never meet again.
Vibe.

Blood as Red as My Gi (3)
Cole was roaming through the alleyway, calling out to his two teammates, "Zane! Kai! Is anyone here?" It was so dark and dead silent, the only thing breaking the silence were the cry of the cicadas that ring loudly in his ears, the noise echoing through the streets like an unworldly warning to his fate. Cole nervously chuckled out and took it as some prank, "It's not funny, guys! We got someone to find ourselves!" Cole stood in silence for a couple of minutes and started getting scared when he still heard nothing from them two. He took another stab at talking to them through their headsets, "Guys? Can you hear me? Do you copy?" Silence and then, footsteps. Cole armed himself with his hammer, backing away slowly from wherever those steps were coming from. The echoes of it were deafening and bouncing, as if it came from every angle. His heavy breaths bece deafening as he kept backing away. He didn't want to engage just yet, out of fear of whatever is hunting him. Cole was almost cornered when he tripped backwards on something. He landed hard on his back and rubbed the aching spot until he looked at what he tripped over. "Zane!" He couldn't bear to look at his damaged body. Though it was all inorganic material, the way he was destroyed was ruthless and gorey: the black oil almost representing dried blood. He called out for the others over his headset, "Nya, Lloyd, Pixal! I found Zane. He's been destroyed badly. Pick him up at my fixed loca--" Cole was cut off by a hard knock on the back of his head. He fell forwards, face first as his vision started to fade. He could feel his nose bleed from the impact as the perpetrator picked him up by his hair. Struggling to stay conscious, he called out, "Who are you? What are you--" "Quite!" That voice... "Kai!? What's going on!? What happened to--" he was dropped down and pinned down by his leg. Cole looked up at his eyes, that wasn't Kai, "I don't need to answer you. For all these years, I was tossed aside. Neglected. Forgotten. Now, I have a chance of becoming great again but that comes with a price," he pulled out his katana and pointed it at his neck, "You! All of you! I have to get rid of all that was getting in my way!" Cole grabbed at his arm to try and stop whatever he was going to do, but he only went closer. Kai smiled and started to speak in a calm and hushed voice, "But, Cole... You don't have to be one of them," he pointed at Zane, "Join me and we can be stronger together. It'd be a shame if I disposed of you, too! I'd want to keep you around for our... Little secrets," he winked at him. Cole started to blush but he shrugged it off. This was no time to start flirting.
"Kai! I wouldn't want to hurt you," the red ninja hummed in reply, "Neither do I, Brookstone," the sword was basically on his neck, one more push and it would be digging into his flesh, "What do you say, Cole? Want to do this for old time's sake?" There was nothing coming out of Cole's mouth. He wasn't sure on what to do. If he agreed, he would be the bad guy but he didn't, he'd die. Kai and Cole stared at each other before Kai laughed maniacally and grabbed at his neck, "I guess I'll have to decide for you!" He started to squeeze his throat, blocking his airway and slowly choking him. Cole was struggling to breathe, none of his efforts to escape are of any help. Kai was stronger, way stronger than what he usually was. Cole was trying to call out for help with his strained voice, "What's the matter, Cole? I thought you liked it when I do this." This couldn't be because of that staff, right? In his last waking moments, Cole saw his eyes and heard his voice. His eyes glowed red with anger and jealousy and his voice deep and distorted. Like that one time at Chen's island where he held the staff and that time in the Never Realm. There was something ugly inside him. Not evil, but angry. Vile and out for blood. Cole started to lose consciousness, his eyes faded out to black and he couldn't feel anything or see.
Cole laid limp on the floor, his heart slowed down and his breathing became relaxed. He wasn't dead, but knocked out. Kai caressed his face and smiled, "I'll be keeping you around. Would be a shame if got rid of you before we get to have fun..." Kai chuckled as he stared at their two bodies side by side. He dragged Cole and walked into the shadows, carrying him on his back. Kai kept walking with a bit of trouble, Cole got so much beefier last time he had to carry him somewhere that it's a wonder if he actually went off cake. Carrying Cole wasn't the best way to travel but atleast it could get him somewhere before the Bounty arrives. Hiding out here would be, oddly, his safest bet since, this part of the city was already infamous for crimes. All he had to do was get rid of this Gi and dress up as something new. Kai still liked the look of the Gi so he had a brilliant idea to steal a couple of Zane's, since he wouldn't be needing them any time soon, and wear those to confuse passers-by.
Kai finally reached the place. This was an abandoned warehouse from where Chen used to keep his noodles. The building was worn down and had been heavily vandalized after being out of commission for a while and the inside looked just as bad, or even worse. This used to be where Kai would go to unleash all his anger after anything bad happens to avoid destroying public or private property. Destroying old machines and boxes of equipment were much less destructive than fighting people as the Red Shogun. He dropped Cole on the ground as he sighed out and wiped away sweat from his forehead, "No offense, Cole but, I would never want to carry you ever again." So with having Cole tied up to a chair, he set to work. He boarded up all the windows and doors leaving only an air vent up high for a quick escape. The space was small enough so Cole wouldn't catch up to him and it was high enough for anyone to notice. Plus, it's a much needed ventilation in such a dusty and old warehouse. The red ninja looked around the dark and musky place he'll call his 'lair' and thought about how much of this would change when gets even more powerful. He could have his own army of mindless citizens under his manipulative control or some sort of ancient warriors that were sealed away from being too powerful or he could-- Wait... What was he doing? What was he thinking!? This can't be happening. Kai ran up to a dusty and cracked mirror and looked at himself and without a second thought, he exclaimed, "I am so powerful! The people will scream in terror when they see me, bowing down to me like a king," "No..." "They'll treat me with food and I will be their ruler," "No, this isn't me..." "I can't wait to destroy that little foolish child Lloyd and become the green ninja," "Who am I? You aren't me! I would never do this!" "I might just let Nya go, what would she be? Just a Samurai-X? She won't stand a chance!" Kai's head was spinning. It was hurting so bad like it was being split in two, like he was being seperated. Is he even the Kai everyone knew anymore? What he did to Jay, to Zane and Cole... The reflection became distorted and warped as he got hypnotized by his own eyes. Kai could hear something... In his head. Many voices. They started to get louder and louder. Screaming at him to do... Something about it. Get rid of them. Get rid of them all.

➳ Kazuha x gn!reader
➳ Oneshot ; 1.7k
➳ Fluff, comfort ; Discomfort in crowds + reader experiencing anxiety
Kazuha notices your discomfort when you are surrounded by a large number of people on a party that was supposed to be fun, and decides to take you to a quiet spot far away from the crowd. [31.O7.2O21]
Zep's Note ; Inspired by a dream I had about Kazuha a few days ago where basically the same thing happened and he was so sweet I just had to write about it.

Maybe it was a stupid decision to ignore the fact that you couldn't stand crowds, but you weren't going to miss the party of the year among the crewmembers of the Crux Fleet.
It was the day of the annual reunion, where the entire crew would return to the mainland of Liyue to see their friends and family again after what could be months without any way of contacting them. The reunion party, as Beidou liked to refer to it, was a widely anticipated event that brought a festive atmosphere to the entire harbor city. It used to be only friends and family that awaited the appearance of various mighty ships on the horizon, but over time it had grown into a festivity that attracted people from all over Liyue, who all gathered in the city to witness the event and join the festival that followed.
You had always kept a safe distance from the chaos, but it was your first year as an official member of the Crux Fleet's crew so not only did you feel obliged to be part of the massive celebration, you also wanted to be a part of it.
A decision you absolutely regretted now.
As a former traveler who wandered around the vast world of Teyvat, it wasn't as if you had anyone waiting for you here, since the flagship of the fleet had been the first place you called home in quite some time. What was the point of you being here?
You felt really out of place and wanted nothing but to get away, but there were people as far as the eye could see and you had the smothering sensation of being trapped. How were you even supposed to escape? This crowd seemed to have no end, which meant that no matter which direction you went, the mass of people would swallow you regardless.
There was music, laughter, shouting of some merchants who tried to use this event to their advantage. Too many voices, too many people and too little space. Sensory overload hit you hard.
The initial discomfort that had settled in the pit of your stomach a while ago converted into panic that gripped at your throat, and it felt as if it was getting harder for you to breathe every time another stranger bumped into you. A cacophony of voices was around you, cheers and laughs ringing in your ears.
A party to one was a nightmare to others.
Everyone's mood was elated. The festivities were in full swing, people seemed to be enjoying each other's company, the whole atmosphere was cheerful. It only set you off more; you wanted to be like that too, but you couldn't.
You wished you could just crawl into the hold of the familiar ship that you called home, to hide from the chaos, but your body appeared to be frozen in place and refused to follow your mind's commands. Gritting your teeth, you forced yourself to take a step, only to get rewarded by a shoulder in your back that pushed you away and almost made you lose your balance. A strangled yelp escaped your throat and you glanced around agitatedly. Was this what coming home felt like? If so, you would rather stay seaborne forever and forget about the mainland at all.
But now you were drowning in a sea of faces and you were running out of air. Anxiety was surging through your veins, a fleeting touch of cold sending goosebumps over your skin despite it being a pleasant midsummer day.
Someone greeted you, distant friends of old days. Hands landed on your shoulders. They laughed, and you felt light-headed. This was too much.
You pushed through the crowd in a rush of panic that nearly left you blinded. Collisions with many strangers were inevitable now, yet made your breath stagger every time. However, you had your mind set on getting out of this mass, your concerns regarding your own state long-gone at this point.
You needed to breathe.
Everything went by in a blur, and you were unable to decipher your surroundings at this point. It was a mad dash, but it ended in a burst of red scarfs fluttering in the wind.
Two arms caught you, and even the warm embrace felt unfamiliar to you that moment. A small sob escaped your throat upon the sudden contact, and you trashed around to free yourself until a soft voice reached your ears. Recognition flooded your system and calmed your senses, and you let out a shaky breath.
"Help," was all you managed to utter out, closing your eyes as you tried to block out all your surroundings aside from the wandering samurai who caught you.
"Focus on me, alright?" Kazuha urged, soothingly rubbing your arm while holding you close. "You will still have to conquer the crowd again in order to leave this place but I will be with you the entire time. It's all okay, Y/N, you're okay."
Your gazes finally met, and his ruby eyes regarded you reassuringly. Kazuha was right; you were okay, or you could at least start to be okay again, now that he was here.
Together, you simply waited. No one paid you any mind, simply seeing you as another couple who got reunited during the festival. They blamed your visible distress on another reason, and the same went for the tears that left trails on your cheeks and the way your lover was holding you closely. Like that, you waited, for as long as it was necessary until your breathing and heartbeat regulated and you were ready to face the crowd for a final time. You had no idea how the ronin did it, but he somehow managed to calm you down amidst the crowd that had initally triggered the panic. That was Kaedehara Kazuha for you, skilled in so much more than just the art of combat.
"Ready?" he asked.
You nodded, and even then he still looked at you closely for a fragment of a second, to make sure you were fully okay with the confrontation that was about to happen. Truth is, you weren't, but you were motivated enough to get out of there and having Kazuha next to you gave you plenty of reassurance to believe that you would get through it.
"I'm right beside you," he reminded you with a smile. He pulled back from the embrace, and took your hand instead.
The crowd closed in on you once more, and the feeling of being smothered gripped at your throat almost instantly. Even with the ronin next to you, you felt exactly the same as when you were caught up in the rough thunderstorms at sea. Your blurry surroundings left you in a disoriented haze, and waves of nausea washed over you. Blood pounded in your ears, and together with the loud voices everywhere around you, you were adrift in a perpetual static noise. It was madness.
"Hang in a little longer, love," Kazuha whispered, giving your hand a gentle squeeze and pressing a soft kiss on your temple.
Again, you simply nodded, not trusting your voice at that moment. You decided to solely focus on the male next to you, who seemed to be walking into a specific direction. He surely knew the way out, right?
He did.
The static that had obscured your senses slowly dimmed when you left the last people far behind you as you walked away from the city, and you sucked in a sharp breath to feel the air flowing to your lungs freely again for what felt like the first time in ages. Your erratic heartbeat calmed down, and your footsteps turned sluggish as relief and exhaustion fell upon you.
You relished in the breeze that swept over the grassy field illuminated by the moonlight, and you truly felt as if the dirt and grime brought over you in your sheer anxiety were finally blown away. It was so freeing, the symphony of nature helping you to relax. In your moment of bliss, your legs turned to jelly and just when your knees gave in and buckled, Kazuha caught you in his arms once more.
"It's over, Y/N. The chaos that disturbed you is far behind us and we will not go back until the city goes to sleep," he told you, and the way his breath tickled your skin made you giggle in his embrace.
Kaedehara Kazuha truly made you feel safe.
Carefully, he went to sit down in the soft and dewy grass, gently bringing you down along with him. You settled between his legs as he hugged your back against his chest snuggly, and you melted under his loving touch. This is what you had been craving for when you were caught in the madness in Liyue Harbor, but you weren't exactly expecting to find it that night. Yet, here you were, safe and sound in the arms of your beloved samurai.
"How did you know?" you asked after a short silence, in which you both watched the leaves that fluttered high up in the surrounding trees.
"The wind knows everything," Kazuha simply replied, resting his chin atop your shoulder with a satisfied hum. "I'm just glad I found you, love. I had a feeling something was off."
You remained silent, because no arrangement of words had the ability to express how grateful you were for having him in your life. He knew you so well, understood you like no one else, stilled your discomfort in a way you had never deemed possible, and loved you endlessly. Kazuha was a blessing. Your blessing.
Everything that had tried to drag you down earlier fell off your shoulders rapidly, and soon it was but a bad memory in your mind – one that soon would be overridden by the memory of your ronin holding you close, making sure you were safe and sound. Why did you even think you needed a reunion party when you were never separated from your loved one in the first place?
He kept his word, gazing at the stars in the sapphire sky with you in his arms, until long after the sands of slumber dawned upon the harbor city. Even then he did not part from your side, bringing you to a place to spend the night and staying with you until you, too, started dozing off.
"I love you," you mumbled tiredly, nuzzling closer into his embrace.
With a smile most lovingly, he told you the same.

Don’t Say Goodbye. || One-Shots ||
I am just in a mood to create broken hearts right now it would appear, this is just a few one-shots on a couple of the boys and my take on how they would act with there s/o dying in their arms due to various reasons based on the character i am writing for. - Mod Diluc
Diluc
The sound of yells grew distant as the vision began to blur from your eyes. The only sensation you could still feel was the tight grasp of your hand in the larger one wrapped round it squeezing it. Diluc was holding you as you laid there on the muddy dirt, resting your bloody and broken body on his legs. Cradling you like a new born while shaking back and forth, trembling in traumatic disbelief over what was taking place before him.
His eyes were swelling with tears threatening to break out and spill down his cheeks, he kept kissing your weak hand gently, each kiss being dragged out longer than the one before, shaky shushes passing his lips in a frail attempt to soothe your weakening body. You'd been adventuring alone again for several weeks away from Mondstat and The Dawn Winery.
You didn't think much of it as you often left for long adventuring trips, bringing back goofy and silly souvenirs for your beloved Diluc, you just didn't realise this time around you'd be ambushed by the Fatui on your long trek back to his winery. Having been unbeknownst to you fatally wounded, you managed to break free and escape, bleeding heavily from your right side, shakily sprinting to the only place you knew could be a safe haven, Dilucs winery.
You'd fallen to the ground in a crumpled heap not barely a few seconds after Diluc spotting you running down the dusty and dirty road. He sprinted to you eyes wide yelling as loud as his vocal chords would physically let him. "Y/N! No!" He skidded and slumped down into the dirt himself, tugging you carefully but quickly into his lap muttering 'No' over and over in rapid breaths. And now you were where you were at, the life slowly but surely leaving you while all you could feel was Dilucs gentle kissing lips and warming embrace.
Does he know how much you love him? Did ever know how much he meant to you? Oh no... the souvenir you'd found for him... you dropped it back when you was ambushed... he would've loved it so much... however likewise with him to you, did you know how much you meant to him? How truly happy he was that he'd finally found someone he could trust and give his life to. Had he ever even said he loves you back? All these questions that were going to be left unanswered to the both of you.
Still trembling he watched as your light dimmed in your eyes, leaning his head down he softly placed a kiss against your unresponsive lips, parting ever so slightly to rest his forehead against yours and whimpering in a broken tone. "I love you, Y/N" When he lifted his head back up he felt the air being squeezed out of his lungs to see your eyes were now closed and there was no longer movement in your body.
He looked up at the night sky, the stars twinkling so beautifully over such a devastating and tragic moment. Closing his eyes he silently prayed the gods take good care of you up there till he can finally be there with you. Lifting up slowly with your now lifeless body bridal style in his arms he began to walk back to his winery, his expression stern and showing no pain. But it was all a facade for inside he was crying and screaming to the heavens and hell for having let this happen to you.
"They will pay Y/N, I promise you. I'll see you again soon; someday."
Tumblr media
Childe
The rain was pouring heavily, hitting angrily against the cold hard concrete, the drops splashing up and back down as they landed with such impact. You were wet and cold, but your body had been going numb for minutes now as the blood was leaving your body so quickly. You shakily looked round to see the last attacker being cut down to the floor by your one and only love, Ajax.
The unknown man's body hadn't even hit the floor by the time Ajax had thrown his weapons down and rushed to your side. "Oi oi, come on now, look alive. More will be coming soon." He let out a nervous laugh not wanting to believe what he was seeing in front of him right now. You'd only gone out for a little drink and joke about in the beautiful rainy day, you both enjoyed running around in the rain so much after all. He tapped your cheek gently trying to keep you conscious as he could see your focus leaving you as fast as your blood was.
He pressed his hand against the open wound in your chest; a pitiful attempt to try slow the bleeding. You cursed yourself for not being more alert of your surroundings when that man crept up behind you and ambushed you by surprise. He shook his head vigorously side to side. His mask hiding most of the unbearable pain behind it. He should've known better than to think it was safe to come back to Liyue so soon after having caused such chaos.
Why the fuck did they have to go for you both though, you were innocent from all this it was him they wanted so why, why?! Why you?! He made a soft 'Tsk' sound from his mouth as he choked back the tears while looking at you. You had little vision left, little time too, but with what little strength you had remaining you lifted your hand up gently and pulled his mask off. Wanting to see his face one last time before you're gone from this world.
Exposing his damp cheeks and red eyes to you, you were able to form the smallest smile at him. "Don't... d-don't leave me Y/N, please..." his voice was barely a whisper now as he remained stiff by your side. "I won't..." You coughed back gently, you didn't even try to sound believable with that; you both knew it was a lie and you were on your way out with only seconds to spare.
You were his everything, he knew you was too good for him from the very beginning, yet you was determined to always be by his side. He knew he was a bad guy, a villain, but with you by his side he was able to feel like someone's hero. You meant fucking everything to him so why did someone so pure have to be taken so soon. You coughed gently once more before choosing your last words carefully, knowing they were to be your last.
"Childe- Ajax, you're not a bad guy. I have and will always love you..." Your voice faded into a whisper and then... nothing. Your eyes closed and your hand that had been against his cheek was now limp, the only reason it was still in its prior place was because Childe himself had been applying slight pressure to keep it there. You were gone now, at rest and probably somewhere much better and further away from this hell.
He looked at your resting face just wishing you'd open your eyes again and say it was all just a big terrible joke. But that wasn't the case, however his broken and torn expression immediately dissolved when he heard the rapid steps growing louder. "There he is! Apprehend him now!" One of the guards shouted to the several others. He quietly apologised to your resting form, letting your hand leave his face and finally rest with the rest of your body, he was also sorry as he wasn't gonna be able to give you the burial you deserved, he wasn't gonna be able to use that ring he'd bought you to propose with, and unknowing to him, you wasn't gonna be able to tell him the good news that he would've been a dad.
He lifted up slowly, hair now soaked and water droplets falling from all over his body. The blood leaving your body had began to swirl and dance with the water pooling against the concrete as the heavy rain showed no signs of slowing down. His mask back in his hand before it found its way back on his face, turning and stepping over to his slung down blades and kicking them up into the air grabbing them. Parting his knees swiftly and getting into his battle ready stance. The mask made him look like the bad guy every one claimed him to be, but underneath was the most broken and tormented boy that they'll never know.
"I'll always love you too Y/N, I am sorry but you're wrong, I've always been a bad guy, I just... I tried to be a better one for you."
Tumblr media
Xiao
The sky was ablaze, organe and yellow flickering all over, ember floating up and down softly. It was so hot; unbearably so as you were laying on the wooden floor of the top balcony at the Wangshu Inn, blood spilling out of you and soaking the wood all around you. The fire was growing dangerously closer, but did it matter now? You would be dead in a couple more minutes away.
Had everyone escaped the Inn at least? Was everyone safe? You hoped they were. But it was then you felt an instant gust of cold wind wail past you like a roaring monster and die down the flames that had been encircling you and drawing ever so closer. Your vision was nearly gone and it was hard to make out anything except the smoke and fire, but those blue oni mask eyes were unmistakable, Xiao was above you right now.
His hand was hovering over your cheek, still scared that even now he may cause you more pain than comfort in your fleeting moments. "Y/N wake up. Don't be defeated so easily, this is truly pathetic, even for your standards." Harsh words as always, you knew he was sad and just lashing out, his words were cracking and his voice was wavering in its tone. Was that a sniffle? It was hard to make out among the crackling fire destroying the walls and wood around you and his mask muttering and muffling his already quiet words.
Why did they go for you? They wanted him to become nothing anymore, to just slip away and leave the entire history of Liyue to them. Leave the nation built under Rex Lapis to the incapable feeble hands of mortals. He couldn't ever allow that, he refused to back down so easily. But this? Surprise attacking the Inn and burning it down while taking the only mortal who held something to him away? How sick and lowly of them.
You went to speak but all you could muster was a cough as blood spat out your mouth across your bottom lip, your time was fading fast. He swallowed down and removed his mask, a shake in his hand as he did so, resting his proper gaze on your form one last time, allowing you to see him in his first ever vulnerable state, tears slowly falling from his face, letting his hand slide across your cheek gently, swiping the blood off your soft delicate lip. Why did it hurt him so bad? Why was this reaching so deep within him?
All those times he'd sighed and disappeared to get away from you, all those eye-rolls to your silly jokes and huffs to your tedious and pointless tasks. Why did he feel an ache in his throat when he thought about how he won't ever get to experience those annoying moments again? What was this? It couldn't be. Had he truly fallen in love with a mortal? Impossible, but what else could explain this gut wrenching feeling he had swirling inside him.
Everything was crumbling apart around him but his focus remained on you as you looked at him with those eyes, those same eyes that often stared at him with hope and admiration, now they stared with soft kindness and fleeting wishes. If this was love then he wasn't ready to have it taken from him so soon, but what could he do except watch as you left this world. He gritted his teeth together and his hand clenched tightly round his blood stained spear. This was truly unforgivable. If only he had killed those monsters sooner, got to you quicker... maybe then he could've saved you.
"I..." he began to stutter gentle words out while stroking his thumb delicately across your cheek, why hadn't he just swallowed his pride and touched you sooner? Why hadn't he just admitted this to himself quicker and embraced you. You had always been there for him despite his many harsh rejections, you were nothing but kind and truthful, loyal and honest to him and now? He resented himself for not having taken the chance to love that he had had in his grip for so long. Your vision was gone now and your ears were following quickly behind. "I... Y/N..."
Just spit it out already, before the time runs out for you- "Y/N I love you..." he looked at your face searching for a response but you were gone now. The gods had given you all the time they could spare and unfortunately it wasn't long enough to Xiao. It wasn't fair. He couldn't even let you know how he truly felt before you were ripped from him. Tears rolled down his face faster now, but the sorrow and pain he felt quickly welded into anger and inner rage boiling at the highest temperature.
He frowned deeply, lifting up from your body, hiding his broken expression behind his oni mask once again, shakily breathing in with a deep sigh, the shake in his hands slowly dissolving as his mind set itself onto a new mission, he turned and walked to the banister of the balcony and swiftly lifted up onto the top, looking over the landscape around him as the only place he'd truly ever known as home was burning to ash around him. He turned round taking one last longing look at your lifeless form and then leapt high into the air soaring through the skies, straight for Liyue.
You never wanted this, he knew that, you'd never want him to cause a war over your death, but you wasn't here to talk reason into him anymore. He was never gonna see your annoyingly beautiful face again, and this was all Liyues fault. They had to pay, and if that meant causing a war between humans and Adepti... then so be it.
"Forgive me Y/N, but without you here now, I see no reason to keep caring for these monsters. I'll hope you'll understand when I see you again one day."

Sonic x Rouge Cover Story (Part 2)
Translator note: Thank you for checking out Part 2 of Rouge’s cover story. I have no idea why it was separated like this, but it’s fine in the end. I am not fluent in Japanese and I am still learning how to be a better translator. Please note that there will likely be mistakes in my work here, but I hope you enjoy the story. Also, I am busy with work and didn’t have the luxury of working on my laptop for this one. While riding a Shinkansen, I typed this out on my phone. If there are any mistakes, please forgive me.
Within the center of Eggman Land, there is a deep vertical hole deep in the ground that goes over 100 meters down.
This was the site of the “Gaia Temple.”
The temple, which once stood for the "healing" of this planet, was tucked into the underground of Eggman Land, but emerged during a big battle and is now sleeping deep in the depths of the planet.
At the bottom of this hole was a figure that landed silently. After looking around carefully, this person said in an overly satisfied tone:
"Huh. It seems that all those robots that gathered together to get Sonic. All for little ol’ me! ♪"
This person was Rouge the Bat. When she looked at the radar she was carrying she could see Sonic was a ways off; just as planned.
"Everybody should get a friendly little hedgehog friend!~"
It seemed certain that she pushed the enemy towards Sonic and to drive them as far away as possible. Then, on the contrary, Sonic was heading for this very spot.
Soon after reaching the deepest part of the tall rock spires of the temple, Rouge found a stone that was dimly shining through the darkness, picked it up, and gracefully pressed it against her cheek.
“I finally found you! And you’re just such a cutie!”
"... Who are you talking to and what are you saying?"
When asked from behind, Rouge looked blankly forward with the stone still on her cheek.
"Oh ...? Did you abandon your work? That’s pretty naughty, Sonic."
Rouge's expression, as she slowly looked back and asked, returned to her usual graceful smile.
“Well, I know you’re the worst kind of lady and I couldn't help it," Sonic answered with an obnoxious grin.
Knowing the location of the Chaos Emerald with the energy detector, Sonic noticed Rouge's plan to use him to allow her a chance to take the gem and so… he quickly showed up here.
The communicator that was informing her of his position would still be spinning on rotation.
"So, what are ya going to do with that Chaos Emerald?"
Rouge smiled and returned without any fear.
"Well, I was thinking that I’d bring it home … What do you say to that?"
Rouge continued, shifting her gaze from the ring on Sonic’s left hand to the Chaos Emerald.
“You’ll soon realize the value of a better gem when one comes around.”
With that said, she slammed a smoke bomb, that she took out from in-between her breasts, on the ground.
<< BANG! >> >>
The area was covered with white smoke.
"Hey! What about our deal earlier!?"
When Sonic shook off the smoke, Rouge had already grabbed on to a large escape balloon and was rising into the sky.
"... Well that takes care of that! My investigation has already ended ♪ You were very useful for the time being, so I will share my intel as promised. Eggman Land’s power restarted because of that seven-colored shooting star ... and the Chaos Emerald accidentally fell here. "
The setup was a little crazy, but Rouge got the Chaos Emerald anyway. She began talking to earn time to escape.
“Well look at that, the Gaia Temple that was previously here was also a power spot for the Chaos Emeralds, right? Perhaps because of that, it seems the underground temple responded to all that Chaos Energy and began to spread energy around the area.”
Sonic didn’t seem to move at all.
"Well, I gave it some thought... If I were to come down here then I might happen upon a Chaos Emerald myself.”
So that was it. Sonic began to speak back.
"OK, but the Chaos Emeralds don’t really belong to anyone. They’ve just been used by some of us when the world was really in a pinch.”
It didn’t matter to Rouge as she let out a soft, “But…"
"But what?"
“But… isn’t it just great to be able to dig in and steal it?”
The next moment Sonic grinned as he dashed towards Rouge.
"!?"
Sonic used the slopes of the rock pillars to spin dash into the sky. As he crossed by Rouge, he grabbed the Chaos Emerald right from her hand.”
"Oh! You thief!"
With a wink, Sonic fell to the bottom of the vertical hole with a huge smile across his face. Rouge was at a loss for words and swooped down to catch up to him!
<< RUMBLE ...! >> >>
Suddenly, all the lights in Eggman Land shut off and the planet shook violently.
A plethora of dazzling streaks of light rose from the very bottom of the vertical hole. The lights shot out in countless directions, and the entire place was engulfed with light once Sonic landed.
The five Chaos Emeralds that Sonic had in his possession started to shine brightly as if they were responding to the lights below.
"What is this......!?"
A glow returned to the darkened and drained Chaos Emeralds.
Maybe it's because five Chaos Emeralds were gathered in the same place where the Gaia Temple used to be. Perhaps it was because Sonic has a deep connection with the temple. Either way, some slumbering power had “found” the Chaos Emerald.
Rouge, who was watching this from the sky, was completely awestruck at such a beautiful scene.
Moreover, the darkness that has spread across the entire temple was washed out as huge particles of light seemed to cut out through the engravings along the side of the large hole. They became even more gorgeous as they shined in seven bright colors.
It looked like a fancy jewel placed on top of high quality black velvet fabric.
"...!"
Rouge glanced at its beauty with longing eyes as she let out a sigh.
For the realist that Rouge was: gems that are unobtainable are truly worthless. However, the hint of "better jewels" still being out there made Rouge happy.
... She could hear Sonic calling from far below her feet.
"Hey! Are you going to come back for it?”
Sonic was shouting with the Chaos Emerald in his hand. It was if he wasn’t going to put up a fight at all.
Of course, she wasn’t going to give up on this real jewel. Right now, no matter what went down in Eggman Land, people’s hearts don’t change. Rouge squinted her eyes and made a confident smile. She pretended to give up and assessed her chances for a surprise attack.
“Well… I lost. I don’t need a sneaky hedgehog’s emerald anyway! Besides—”
<< Crack ...! >> >>
As Rouge flew, the circumference of the hole began cracking apart as the planet shook again.
<< RUMBLE ...! >> >>
"What!? What’s happening this time!?”
A vertical hole that was originally struck in an unnatural shape ... I couldn't stand the torrent of light. The vertical hole couldn’t withstand the barrage of light. The buildings and attractions of Eggman Land fell as if they were caught in an avalanche. The whole thin collapsed.
...... Now’s the time to strike!
If Rouge could get off a surprise move now, she could possibly get all five of Sonic’s emeralds! However, Sonic was able to avoid a giant Eggman statue that had collapsed and fallen in. Sonic slipped back and fell into the smoke.
Sonic would be fine in a situation like this. Rouge, however, concentrated all of her cunning towards an overhead surprise attack once the smoke settled.
But then ...
"I'm sorry to have kept a lady waiting, but I can’t give much more of an apology, right? By the way, what were you trying to tell me earlier?"
Rouge was hearing Sonic's cocky voice from the communicator.
Rouge dropped her head in sadness. Sonic had already escaped. Also, his communicator must was very far away from where he was ... Rouge realized that it was impossible to catch up with him.
Really, this guy does every single thing he wants to, doesn’t he?
"It's so annoying. I now have nothing!"
Saying that, Rouge got rid of her communicator and let her escape balloon go too. She then angrily flew into the sky.
Sonic, on the other hand, almost instantly returned to his usual demeanor with a cheeky expression. Before running off, he left a last message on his communicator despite the fact that nobody would hear it.
"Well, Rouge. Did you enjoy yourself today?"
The night was soon erased by a wave of light. Morning had come to Eggman Land, the place for hopes and desire.
The amusement park, which welcomed two guests during its bustling night of resurrection had collapsed and fallen completely silent. Now, it seemed nothing more than a set of ruins. Casting a dark shadow onto the new morning.
With that in mind, Rouge, who ended up going home empty-handed, was flying in the sky with horrid thoughts in her mind. However, she suddenly went silent when she thought about the jewel of light she saw.
Even so, it was overwhelming. That unrealistic beauty it had... What if Rouge could just know how valuable it was?
"... Well, you’ll just have to find it for yourself then!"
"Motivation" is the "ideal jewel". Maybe there was some value in this, depending on how you think about it.
Let's leave things as they are. Rouge was in a good mood as these thoughts raced through her mind. She then flew off into the sunrise.
“I'll definitely get all the jewels I want anyway! All jewels in the world are my mine to keep! ♪”

Part 5
The following day Steven promised he would spend the full day with you. After eating breakfast the two of you visited the local village. It was something Steven did when his busy schedule permitted him to, but it was something he always did when you were visiting. You had fallen in love with the villagers after your very first visit to the kingdom. They were all so pleasant and cherished their King. Another thing that reminded you of your home.
After spending a few hours visiting the market where you had lunch as well as buying one or two things, you went back to the castle so Steven could work on a couple of things in his study where you read one of his many books before the two of you had dinner together.
The following day you weren't able to spend that much time with Steven due to him needing to be present in meetings, again. You were left in the company of Sir Clint Barton who was an expert archer and your teacher for just that. The two of you spent hours practising before Steven managed to escape the dreaded meeting he was in and joined you for a little while before the two of you had some lunch. He reluctantly returned to his 'Kingly duties' as he put it with an eye-roll making you laugh. That night you ate with your ladies-in-waiting in your chambers, a little disappointed not to be seeing the King again that night.
"Tell me, Bucky, you spent some time in Wakanda with King T'Challa, didn't you?" You looked back to the man behind you.
King Steven had decided the two of you, along with Bucky and Sam were going to spend the day riding and doing a little hunting. You had a feeling Steven wanted to get out of the castle and away from his council.
"I did, Your Highness," Bucky answered.
"Would you say he's a kind man?" You asked curiously. "I've only met him once but I felt perhaps he was."
Bucky nodded, "He is one of the kindest souls I have had the pleasure of knowing, Your Highness."
"What about King Thor, Steven, is he kind?"
Steven nodded with an almost silent grunt, "He is... Although, you may find conversation with him a little slow, Princess." Steven grinned cheekily at you.
You giggled nodding, "Yes, I have had the pleasure of meeting him once or twice, Your Majesty."
As kind and as brave as King Thor was, his lack of knowledge on matters other than battle and maidens he's bedded, made conversation a little unbearable if you weren't someone with a cock between their legs.
"Are you not going to ask about Prince Loki, Your Highness?" Steven asked in a playful tone.
You scowled playfully at him. "Oh, I am glad you find amusement in my turmoil, King Steven." Steven chuckled making you scoff but smile none the less at him. You did enjoy the teasing between the two of you.
"I think we'll stop here," Steven spoke after a few minutes further riding into the woods. He was quick to dismount and offer his hand to you. He smiled tenderly at you as he held you steadily by the waist. "Okay?"
You gulped, nodding your head, "Yes... thank you,"
Tumblr media
You smoothed your dress out stepped around his bulking frame, suddenly feeling shy under King Steven's gaze.
Slowly the four of you began to walk through the trees. Steven and Sam held a crossbow each with Steven on your left as you walked alongside Bucky.
"Rabbit, in front," Sam called out quietly before Steven aimed and fired at the rabbit a hundred or so feet in front of you.
"Good shot, Your Majesty." Bucky praised Steven as he moved forwards and collected the rabbit. His eyes seemed to wonder over your shoulder for a brief moment as he moved back to where he was stood before.
The four of you continued to walk on, conversing softly as you kept an eye out for rabbits. Each aim of the King's crossbow was on target, and soon the rabbits were mounting up.
"Would you like to have a go, Y/N?" Steven asked as he began to reload his crossbow.
Your eyes widened a little in surprise, "Oh, I'm not sure I'd be able to. It's a lot different to a bow and arrow."
Steve shook his head with a reassuring smile. "I'll teach you," He held his arm out towards you and waved you over to him.
You drew in a shaky breath as you slowly walked over to him, taking his hand he offered to you and allowed him to pull you in front of him. You gasped as Steve held the crossbow in front of you with both hands, caging you in. Shivers ran down your spine as his breath tickled the back of your neck.
"Take this hand," He reached down with his left and held yours, "Place it here," He put your hand into position. "Then put your other hand here," He did the same with the other hand. "Relax your fingers, Y/N, that's it... Then you just pull back, until it's in position... like that," He whispered as he moved your hand once more, showing you how to aim, "And then, you press here, and-" The arrow shot from the crossbow with a whistle through the air and landed in the bark of a tree with a crunch. "Perfect!" He praised you.
You grinned from ear to ear, "I hardly did anything, Steven," You turned to look at him over your shoulder.
"Everyone has to start somewhere, Princess," Steven smiled down at you. You were still stood in front of him with his chest pressed to your back. "Let's see if we can find you a rabbit, shall we?" Steve took your hand in his and began to lead you through the trees.
It took some time and a lot of help from Steven but you eventually managed to catch your own rabbit using the crossbow. You were so excited when you were successful, you jumped up with a cheer and wrapped your arms around Steven's neck.
"Sam," Bucky called out as he picked up the last rabbit they had just shot. "Let's start binding these things together, shall we."
"I hope you don't mind me saying, Steven, but you don't quite seem yourself." You whispered as the two of you stood together leaving the two knights to tend to your catches.
Steven let out a heavy sigh, "I do apologise, Princess. There is no need to worry, I assure you." He gave you a smile to reassure you.
You frowned at him. You reached up and placed your hand on his arm, trying not to think about how his muscular bicep felt under your hand. "Steven, I'm no fool. I know there is something you're worried about." You gave him a gentle smile.
Steven let out a breathy chuckle, "How is it you know me so well, Princess?" He smiled down at you. He reached up and brushed a strand of your hair back from your face. "These damn meetings I've been having." He sighed, "The council seem to think, without a queen by my side, I am in no position to be leading the kingdom to victory." He frowned.
Your eyes narrowed in confusion. "Wait... They are forcing you to marry?" You gulped, feeling something foreign inside your gut as you thought about Steven marrying someone once again.
Steven nodded but before he could open his mouth an arrow was shot through the air from somewhere deep in the woods and landed in the tree between you and Steven, splintering the wood with a loud crack. Steven was quick to pull you into his arms and to draw his sword at the same time as Sam and Bucky.
"Did you see who it was?" Sam asked as he moved to stand before you and Steven to shield you as Bucky stood behind you, blocking the two of you from any more arrows.
Steven shook his head, "Bucky, who had you seen before?" He asked over his shoulder.
"Not sure, Your Majesty, it was just a glimpse of someone. I fear there may be more than one." Bucky answered, "Perhaps we should start making our way back to the castle, Your Majesty?"
"Agreed," Steven tightened his hold on you and slowly the four of you began to make your way back towards where your horses waited.
However, before you could get too far from your spot, another arrow was shot, this time it hit Sam's shoulder. He cried out in pain almost dropping his sword.
"Run, Y/N, you must go!" Steven ordered, pushing you forwards, leaving no room to argue. He knew your horse would keep you safe.
Your breathing was heavy and panicked as you ran as fast as you could. The sounds of swords clashing together and echoing off the trees around you, terrified you. You were desperate to know what was going on but you knew you had to run.
"Your Majesty!" Bucky cried out.
Your feet almost stopped moving and tears began to fall as the trees started to rustle from the winds. You strained your hearing, desperate to hear any sign of Steven. He couldn't be dead, he couldn't. You were so close to Storm, you could almost feel his warmth under your fingertips, you had to push yourself.
You screamed out in terror as an arm wrapped around your waist before a hand covered your mouth, muffling your screams. You clawed at the filthy hand that covered your mouth and kicked out your legs in front of you.
"Be quiet!" A deep voice ordered behind you whilst you were dragged backwards away from your horse.
You pulled the hand from your mouth the best you could and sank your teeth into it, ignoring the foul taste that hit your tastebuds. The man cried out in pain and let go of you. "STEVEN!" You screamed out, trying to move closer to the horses. The four of them stomping their hooves, bucking and whinnying, trying to break loose.
"Be quiet you little bitch!" A hooded man hissed as he hit the back of his hand across your cheek. The force of it knocking you off your feet. "Get up," He ordered as you laid on the floor. "I said, GET UP!" He bent over you as you kicked and screamed at him. You slapped your hand across his face, scratching your nails across his cheek and drawing blood, causing him to take a step back. He glared down at you as he drew a small blade from his boot. "You little-"
The man let out blood-curdling scream as Steven's sword was plunged into his side before he was kicked away from you.
"Sam, if he's not dead, fucking kill him," Steven ordered as he sheathed his sword and moved to where you were laid on the ground crying.
You stared up at him, fear in your eyes. He was covered head to toe in dirt and blood, some most likely his from the one or two gashes that you could see through his tunic. He looked every bit of the feared warrior you had heard stories about.
Tumblr media
"Princess?" Steven whispered and bent down beside you as he held his hand out towards you, expecting you to take it.
"Oh, Steven!" You cried out, launching yourself towards him. You wrapped your arms around his neck, your tears rolling down your face and soaking his tunic. "I thought I was never going to see you again."
"Shh, it's okay," Steven soothed, his large hands cradling the back of your head as you sobbed. "I've got you," He pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head. "You're safe."

Til death do us part | Helmut Zemo
Tumblr media
Bodyguard AU! 🕶
Gender neutral reader
Collage by @realremyd
I'll be waiting for your responses eagerly. Come at me!
Warnings: Blood. Stabbing.
[Previous chapter] - [Next chapter]
Part 13
The night of the party. Helmut had organised an outfit to be delivered to you before hand, so right now you have been in your room awaiting it.
You had been waiting in worry. Every possible outcome of how tonight could go had run through your head. You were certain Walker would make an appearance tonight and you had to be on high alert to protect Zemo.
A knock sounds at your door. You get up and answer it. One of the maids stands there with a box in her arms. She holds it to you. You take it, thanking her. The maid leaves. You close the door and walk over to your bed, where you then place the box. You open it.
You can't help the chuckle that escapes you.
You take out the expensive looking clothes. You already knew he had fine taste, but to think he would extend that to you, it was almost overwhelming. You don't think you've ever worn something that looked like it's price tag may have more zeroes than you're comfortable with.
Regardless, you put it on.
Just as you're about done getting ready, there is another knock at your door. This time you look at yourself in the mirror as your heart skips a beat. You don't look like you. At least, not a you that you've ever known. It felt strange not to be putting on your usual suit to do a job.
You looked amazing. There was no better way to put it.
Another knock.
"Come in."
Helmut opens the door and slips into the room. You watch him in the reflection of the mirror. You smile, unable to contain it. After his confession, you feel all the more giddy when you see him.
It comes as no surprise he is also dressed to the nines. The man has immaculate taste in everything.
He's smiling at you.
Helmut comes to stand behind you, but by the time he gets there, you're standing up and facing him. The way he looks at you makes you forget how to breathe for a moment and you have to try and gather yourself without looking like a fool.
He chuckles softly.
"Absolutely breathtaking," he whispers.
"Yes, you are," you say, not really meaning to say that out loud, but it's too late to take it back. You know he heard you because of his smile.
He reaches out. You do nothing as he pulls you a little closer and looks at you.
"Shall we?" He asks, voice soft and low.
You nod.
Helmut offers you his arm. You take it. You walk together upstairs to the main hall of the estate. When you get there you are greeted with a crowd of people. So many people. The whole estate had people walking around, laughing, chatting, and dancing.
"You went all out."
Helmut smiles smugly.
"I told you, my house, I'll do what I like. I wanted a party, so a party we shall have."
He guides you further into the room. He smiles at people as you both pass through the crowds.
You had to admit, it was a thrilling experience. You had never been to a party like this, well, as a guest anyway. Normally you were on the sidelines observing and looking for any trouble.
Speaking of, you briefly catch your friends on duty. They are scattered about the room, all in great spots should things happen, but you also wondered if it was enough.
If John Walker was serious about killing Zemo, then he would use this party to his advantage, and would be smart about it too. Zemo was practically inviting him into his own, daring him to come and try.
That's what worried you the most.
"May I have this dance?" The Baron asks, smiling at you in the centre of the room.
You chuckle softly.
"I suppose."
He rolls his eyes with a grin and pulls you in close. You hope he cannot hear your heart racing rapidly in your chest. This man was making you feel things you never thought you would ever experience. How could he get you to swoon with so few actions and words?
The smile he gives you is devastatingly handsome. You're resisting the urge to melt in his arms as his eyes sparkle with a mischievous glint.
You're pulling against his chest, his face right close to your ear. You don't have to look to know he's smiling.
"See? Nothing to worry about. Just the two of us dancing in a crowded room."
"You realise that's what worries me? The room is packed with people. He could be here."
Helmut moves his head so he can look at you. His expression has fallen into something more serious.
"I won't let him hurt you."
"Stop it. That's my job. My life before yours," you tell him.
He shakes his head slowly.
"You don't understand, darling. I'm not here tonight as the Baron. I'm here as Colonel Zemo. I don't care of you're my bodyguard. Walker is a dead man if I see him, and then I'm going to take you in a proper date. I'm serious about you."
You stare at him, looking for a hint that he was messing with you, but you found nothing.
"Colonel Zemo?" You whisper.
Oh. Hearing you say that made his spine tingle. His eyes drop to your lips. You notice that. His eyes return to yours. He doesn't hesitate to kiss you.
You melt against him at last.
You give yourself to him fully. It's safe to say, you have made Helmut Zemo the proudest and happiest man in the world.
His lips were soft and warm. Your fingers, which were threading through his hair, felt how soft and fluffy his hair was. These aren't things you had thought about before, but now you write sure you wouldn't be forgetting this moment.
You wanted to stay like that forever.
Screaming.
You hear screaming.
Both of you part ways and turn your head sharply in the direction it was coming from. Helmut wraps his arms around you and holds you close to him. His gaze is hard and cold as he tries to find out what's going on.
Though you're still flustered from the kiss, you are quick to get your head back into the game.
You realise what he's doing and switch it up, pulling him behind you roughly. He is less than impressed of your move.
More screaming. People begin to scatter.
"Let me protect you," he hisses in your ear.
You turn to face him and shake your head.
"Y/N."
A gunshot rings out. You give Helmut a hard shove. He scatters backwards, unable to grab onto anything to stay upright. You look up and nod.
Natasha had her eyes in you. She nods back and does not hesitate to hop over the railing of the balcony above. She lands with a hard thud and hurried over to where the Colonel was now sitting up.
You're gone. He can't see you. In that second you had pushed him, you had rushed off and now he couldn't see you.
"Y/N!"
Natasha grabs him by the arms and pulls him up. He doesn't even look at her. He tries to push her away to go look for you, but she's tougher than she looks. Natasha holds him back.
"We have to go."
"No. If this is Walker, Y/N is not safe," he growls.
"Look, I know you're in love with them, we love them too, but Steve made a promise with them and I'm not about to break it."
Helmut turns to look at her sharply.
"What did they promise?"
"That we would carry on with our duty no matter what happened."
He glares harshly. He is not here to play nice. Helmut had only just won you over, he was not about to lose you now.
"Let go of me."
She does not.
"That's an order."
She releases him. He adjusts his jacket and storms off through the crowds, who were making their way out. This was not the party they had come for.
Natasha sighs.
"Forgive me, Y/N." She storms off after Zemo, not willing to let him go alone.
When you pushed Zemo down, your eyes caught sight of the man you hated more than anyone. He was smirking at you. He bolted the moment you saw him. You gave chase. You chased him up the long staircase, away from the party.
The crowds were thinning, he would have no one to hide behind. That also left you open too.
You saw him dart into one of the guest bedrooms. You rushed over to the door and opened it rapidly, coming to a step inside.
You didn't see Walker.
However, the room wasn't empty. Hoskins, Walker's right hand man, was standing opposite you. He had a gun in his hand, aimed right at you.
"Where is he?" You ask.
"Not here."
"This is a trap isn't it?"
He smiles, but it's not a happy smile.
"You've left the Baron's side. He's exposed."
"I can assure you, he is well guarded."
"Is he? Do you even know who you are up against?"
"I know the type of person I'm up against," you say, heart beating faster than you would like.
You're scared. You are genuinely scared.
Hoskins can see your fear.
"You're afraid. Walker already has an advantage over you."
You shake your head.
"This is a trap."
"You're smart. He likes that. Heike was smart too. It's something he loved about her."
You shake your head and turn around quickly. However, your exit is blocked. Walker stands menacingly in the doorway. He stares down at you with a sinister grin upon his face.
In his hand is a knife, glistening in the light.
Your fear grows. You didn't want to be here. You didn't want to be alone.
"Helmut..." you whisper.
Walker steps closer.
"It's a shame he had to fall in love with you. If he hadn't, your life wouldn't matter so much to me. Now, I need to use you to break down his walls."
"He will kill you," you stay, trying to keep your voice level.
"No. He will bend to me. He will kneel down and do whatever I want him to. He will bend to me."
It happens so quickly.
The knife is plunged into your abdomen. You can only stare wide eyed at Walker as your hand grab at his wrist. Even in your panicked state, where you stand with a knife in you, you know you need that knife to stay there.
Walker knows you need that knife to stay there.
That's why he takes it out.
You fall to your knees as your hands try cover the wound. He drops the knife near you and gives you a push a with his boot clad foot. You topple over and gasp loudly. Tears fall, gasps escape your lips rapidly.
Your blood was warm in your hands.
Walker and Hoskins step over you and leave. You lie there, hands at your stomach, eyes trained on the door.
You were supposed to protect him.
Helmut...
As if he had heard your thoughts, the man himself enters the room. It was the only room on this floor with door left wide open.
Walker and Hoskins were long gone.
All thoughts leave him as he kneels down beside you. He cradles you, trying to be mindful of your wounds, but he is so overcome with worry, he isn't careful enough.
"No. No!"
You look up at him. You're bleeding all over him now.
"Helmut..."
He hushes you, look down at you as he place one hand on your cheek. He needs you to look at him.
"Why did you have to run off like that?"
You go to answer but he stops you.
Natasha enters in a rush. She can't believe what she's seeing. This is far worse than last time. There was so much red.
"GET HELP!" Helmut yells, looking up at her.
Natasha scurried away.
You cry softly.
Helmut leans down and presses soft, though slightly sloppy, kisses to your forehead. He cradles you to him, using one hand to press over yours where the wound bled profusely.
"You'll be OK. You're going to be fine."
You can only cry softly as you try to cling to his warmth.
You can hear his soft cries. You can feel his heart hammering away inside his chest.
"Helmut..."
"Don't talk," he says, closing his eyes as he holds you. You were going to be alright. He would make sure of it. He will look after you.
"I love you."
He looks down at you quickly, lips parted as he tries to work put if he actually heard that.
"I love you," you said again.
"You do?" He asks, softly.
You manage a smile.
"I do."
It's then your eyes flutter closed. Panic sets in and he gives you a shake.
"Stay awake."
You keep your eyes closed.
"Y/N, stay awake!"
Nothing.
Steve and Bucky reach the end of the corridor. Natasha had called for help, passing them along the way. As quickly as she could, she told them what happened.
As they reached the hall, they come to a stop.
A sound so broken comes from up ahead.
A cry so sad, so broken, so devastated, halts them in their tracks.
And they know it belongs to the Baron.
Both of them take off.
They reach the doorway and both want to take back everything they thought they were seeing.
They wanted to believe they weren't looking at Baron Helmut Zemo cradling your body.

Let the Stars Witness
Tumblr media
Okay okay holy— omg I did it! My first request and from an admired writer of mine no less!
From @kim-monsterlings : Hi and welcome!! Really looking forward to seeing your work! ~ If you would, could I request some form of friends to lovers with an orc? (Prompts maybe like, "you deserve better.") Thank you! <3
Since it wasn't specified on what their genders are, I hope your okay with what I went with! And I kinda trailed off from the prompt (or rather it's different but similar)
Anyways you'll know when you read!
Pairing: Male Orc (Duruk) x Human Fem!Reader
Word count: 2.2k
Warnings: None.
Tumblr media
"You know, I never thought I would be friends with anyone here, especially with someone other than my, well, species," you tell your companion, your eyes not leaving the cloudless night sky as you lied on your back on the roof of his house. The stars were out tonight.
If you told your younger self that you'd be having great escapades (if running away and getting into a series of trouble fall under that) with an orc, you would most definitely cry your eyes out because you thought were being teased, taking it as a hurtful comment. You were sensitive like that. Part of the reason why no one would even go near you, afraid they might hurt you with a pat on the shoulder or with one word alone. You became the prime target of bullies, finding twisted amusement at your pathetic reactions. A crybaby, they called you. But it wasn't your fault you didn't have much control over your emotions. You were weird, asocial, timid, maybe even depressed. Having a neglectful family didn't help either, it just worsened.
The morning you met Duruk was after the orientation. And it was not so good for a first impression.
Long story short, you cried.
But since you're perhaps curious as to what happened exactly, let's elaborate.
You had your headphones on, the melodic sound of gentle rain played in a 3-hour loop and blocked out other noises, your eyes glued to the path you were on. You took long and hurried steps, wishing you could teleport to your classroom and hide in the back, disappear or become invisible.
You were distracted, or should we say, focused on the ground and expecting everyone to step aside and let you through.
Well, except for the one who had his back on you.
You crashed—not an exaggeration— into something- someone massive. You stumbled back and landed on your bum, wincing from the impact. Luckily, your headphones were safe (ah yes, priorities), detaching from your ears and landing on your shoulders. When you looked up to see who it was, you thought your eyes were gonna fall off, grow little legs, and scamper away.
Before you stood an orc, halfway turned to glance at whoever it was that tried to push him, his sharp tusks jutting out from his maw. His brows were furrowed as he looked down on you. Sure, he wasn't as tall as the orcs you've seen around the city and campus but still was over 6 feet, with muscles thicker than your thighs, easily hulking you.
You tried to get out an apology and run as far as you could go, but you just sat there, frozen as you strained your neck to meet his gaze, you couldn't look away. Your heart was trying to claw its way out into the surface.
Then you felt the tears swell up.
They cascaded down your face before you even could stop them.
The orc's eyes widened at your reaction and crouched down to your level in an instant that he almost fell over. His hands hovered, not sure what to do.
"Hey, hey, please don't cry. Please don't—"
"I-I-I'm re..really s-sorry p-please don't hurt m-me..." You managed to choke out pathetically, hiccuping in every word.
"Shhh now hey, it's okay. It was an accident— what? No! Why would I do that?" he replied. The orc peeked over his shoulder and to the sides. "Let's get you to somewhere, uh, less crowded," he added. You turned your head and saw that you had an audience, whispers went around as they sent pitiful and disgusted glances in your direction, only making you cry even more.
He proceeded to unceremoniously lift you into his arms, bridal style, and dashed away. You gripped the front of his shirt and shut your eyes. You were trembling now, scared of what he might do to you. How could you even fight back with your small stature?
It wasn't long until you felt him slow down and placed you carefully on a bench. The orc knelt in front of you, brows scrunched up as he studied your face.
"You okay? I didn't hurt you, did I?"
You didn't reply, only staring at him through your glassy eyes as you heaved.
You flinched when his hand started rubbing your back, his other hand placed on the side of the bench to balance himself.
He continued to caress your back and murmured soothing words in hopes of calming you down.
Your tears didn't stop falling until moments later when you came down from your initial fear, the warmth of his palm leaving your back once you did. All the while the orc remained where he was, at a loss of what to do next.
You rubbed your sticky face with the collar of your pale and blotchy crimson sweater, sniffing and taking slow, deep breaths before you spoke.
"I... I'm sorry for causing you trouble. E-Even going as far as to take me somewhere quiet. I...appreciate that." You thought you'd pass out with the way people gathered around you, it was suffocating. "Thank you..."
"I panicked," he started, "Sorry—I mean, it's okay, you didn't do anything wrong. I get that a lot of people run away from the sight of me, but you didn't, and just froze there on the ground so..." he shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck.
You shook your head. He was such an imposing figure to many, their first thought was most likely to get away or scream at him.
"You looked angry... When I bumped into you." You slammed into him actually, but he didn't budge an inch. Guess it was one-sided.
"Oh, that? Well, my brother scolds me a lot for having such a grumpy face, scaring humans away. Like he was the one to talk when he's taller and bigger than me! People would faint on the spot when they see him, I bet!"
The image your mind conjured up tore a laugh out of your body, two orcs arguing about how not to terrify people at sight was damn hilarious. When was the last time someone made you laugh like this?
The orc grinned, your reaction a contrast to that of earlier.
You opened your mouth to say something but the ringing of the great bell resounded, cutting you off. The two of you stood up as you realized you were late for your first class of the school year.
"So, uh, what now?" you asked.
"How about we go to our class, then maybe meet up later? Oh, fu— my mother will gut me— I haven't introduced myself!" He blurted out, his voice making you yelp with the sudden outburst.
Clearing his throat, he reached out, "I'm Duruk."
In turn, you gave him your name, taking his hand and smiled. "Hello, Duruk."
True to his word, you met again later when lunch came. The cafeteria was packed so you settled on getting the convenience food they offered and eat somewhere quiet.
Your conversation that day spiraled when you found out the two of you had a lot in common. From your favorite rock band to your favorite flavor of ice cream.
You both strongly agreed that vanilla ice cream was superior.
You agreed to meet up during breaks, always having something to chat about.
Eventually, you became inseparable.
He even changed and transferred to your class just so the two of you could be together at the start of the day rather than walk half of the campus to see each other every time.
You became best friends, sharing each moment in school, may it be helping the other stay awake in a boring class, or copying homework when one of you forgot to do it. Soon enough, Duruk started inviting you to his house to hang out. He did mention he had four other siblings, but he lived alone. You came by almost every night and on whole weekends to escape from home, only a few miles in between. No one would notice you gone anyways, but you returned around midnight, not wanting to impose on Duruk no matter what he says, so he walks you back instead.
You basked in each other's company. The odd and scrutinizing glares didn't go unnoticed when you two were together, but you shrugged them all off.
It didn't take long before you started having feelings for the orc, a little wishful thinking that you could be more than friends. You noted lately that his touches would linger seconds longer than usual, hugs and even a hand on your shoulder and back seem to be warmer and —you dare say— affectionate. It weighed heavily on your heart, your simple crush turned into something else, and it only grew with each passing day, and every laugh you shared.
But of course, you swatted those away, buried them deep inside every damn time they climb back up. Who could even love you? Yes, you have Duruk, he likes you, you think. But that's the end of it. Just close buddies. You can't take the risk of ruining your friendship with him and make things awkward with the only one you had! What if he stops talking to you, weirded out by your confession? You don't want to go back to being alone again, your heart can't take the rejection that came with it.
So you endured.
A little over five months ever since the embarrassing accident, here you are now, stargazing with your best friend.
"Well, good thing you didn't watch where you were going that time then," he says, chuckling beside you. His hands cushioned his head against the hard surface. "I wouldn't have..." he trails off.
"Hm, what?" you ask. Duruk went silent and didn't answer you for a time. You were about to let it slide but then he breathes in audibly.
"I wouldn't have met an angel if you did. Should've caught you in my arms, but sadly I didn't move fast enough." He replies, his voice deep and mellow.
You straighten up and turn to face him, your brows shot up, incredulous to what he just implied.
"W-Wait. What?" you squeak, your heart thumping hard in your chest, your skin warming up even in the chilled night air.
Is he—
"You're so cute, y'know that? Fuck it, it's all or nothing," he whispers under his breath as he sits up to face you. His expression was unreadable, but you see in his mahogany eyes a familiar glint of determination. "I'm not good with long-ass speeches so I'll make this short," he breathes in before he continues, "I feel something for you, for a while now, more than a best friend does, like...in a romantic sense. I want to cherish you and hold you in my arms every time I see you, I- ah fuck- damn it I just—" he growls, "I love you, so much and if you don't love me back then please re—"
You shut him off with your lips against his, Duruk's tusks pressing against your cheeks as you held his face in your hands. He was stunned for two solid seconds before returning the kiss, his arms snaking around your waist and pulling you close and into his lap.
You feel something wet roll down your hand and you immediately jerked back to see his face. The orc was crying.
Did you do it wrong? Were you so terrible at it—
"I don't deserve you... A monster like me doesn't deserve an angel like you."
Where was this coming from??
"Say that again, I dare you."
"I don't de—"
This idiot!
You pecked his lips to cut him off.
"You big dummy," you begin, "I love you too, idiot. You may be a monster but not what everyone else defines you as. I love you as you are. You're my best friend, and dare I say my l-lover now. Is that right...?"
Duruk gives you a small, gentle smile, "If you'll have me, then yes, for as long as you want me to be." He says, sniffling a sob as a couple more tears tumbled down his rugged face.
You never thought you'd see him like this. He was the one who kept making you laugh with his stories and terrible jokes. Before you, in your hands was someone vulnerable, his eyes soft and fond as he gazed into yours.
It made your heart pound and it hurt.
You leaned in and he met you halfway, kissing once again, deeper and more intimate this time. Real. You brought your arms around his neck, your tears spilling out and he tightened his grip around you. It felt like a dream, too good to be true, but the way he hugged you like you were the only thing that anchored him in this world made you believe it wasn't. All of this was real and you couldn't be anymore happier.
From above, the glittering stars, the light gentle as they shone, bear witness to two freed hearts, bottled up feelings gushing out like a broken dam as you embraced one another and lost yourselves in the moment of bliss, cheeks stained and clothes lightly damp from the tiny rivulets of liquid that dropped down.
It's a lovely night, isn't it?

Fangpaw watched as the number of Windclan cats' dwindled as they escaped the wrath from Shadowclan, leaving them the victorious clan over the moorlands.
(rest under cut)
"And don't think about coming back!" He puffed out his chest with pride as his clanmates, declared this territory theirs with yowls. One yowl broke through, causes the cheering to come to an abrupt stop. Looking up, he saw Brokenstar had climbed on top of a tall boulder, Fangpaw assumed was where Windclan leaders would call clan meetings from. "They aren't going to be able to do that anymore." He thought with a smirk.
"We have successfully claimed the moorlands as ours! But enough cheering on our victory, let us head back to camp and rest. You all deserve it after tonight!" Brokenstar jumped down after he had wrapped up, walking in the direction to stand at the head of the group.
Fangpaw held his head high as he joined his clan mates, some cats were busy checking the dens for any lingering Windclan cats so the gathered cats had time to wait. As he waited, he felt a small tug of guilt at his heart, that told him something was missing. But that couldn't be true, he doesn't care about any cat in Windclan; and more land for Shadowclan meant more prey! What does it matter how they get it?
"No one's there. What should we do with the fallen?" Fangpaw overheard Blackfoot ask Brokenstar.
"Toss them into the gorge. We don't need to waste time digging graves for such weak cats." The leader then waved with his tail for his clan mates to follow him back to camp.
As he walked, Fangpaw wondered if Brokenstar saw how he fought against the Windclan cats, he hoped the leader had, he wanted to make him proud of how far he's come.
**
Fangpaw laid in his nest when a loud yowl rung through the clearing. He wasn't able to register what words they spoke having just woken up.
"Clan meeting." Dawnpaw whispered to him as she left the den.
Finally! A clan meeting! Fangpaw shot to his paws and darted out of the den. Today's the day, it has to be. Brokenstar will announce the news that Windclan is gone and he'll make me a warrior! He could hardly contain his excitment but did his best to seem calm, after all if he was going to be a warrior, he should start acting like one.
Sitting down, Fangpaw saw Wetpaw, Brownpaw and Littlepaw huddled together. Wetpaw had a gnarly gash on the back of his shoulder, he must have gotten it from the battle. It would be nice to become warriors with them too. Though, maybe not Littlepaw. He's a bit on the skittish side.
"Cats of Shadowclan!" Brokenstar's voice boomed through the clearing, starting the meeting. "To those who weren't able to make it to last night battle, Windclan has given us the moorlands entirely! It's ours to hunt freely on."
Fangpaw felt his later excitement stirring up again, he was proud that he helped Shadowclan accomplish but couldn't deny how impatient he was for Brokenstar to start the warrior ceremony. His ceremony.
But to his dismay the Shadowclan leader's next words were to dismiss the clan. As cats went left the clearing to start their days, Fangpaw sat in the same spot. Disappointment welling in his belly. I did what I was supposed to. Why didn't Brokenstar make him a warrior? Didn't he think he was ready? Fangpaw was confident that was he ready, he could feel it. So why didn't Brokenstar think the same? Didn't he see him driving off those Windclan cats?
Maybe he planned to do it later today. The new idea brought back his motivation. It was still early morning, the sun hasn't reach it's half point yet. That had to be it. That must be the reason why Brokenstar hadn't started the ceremony.
Duh
He felt silly for not thinking about that earlier. He shook his head to get rid of the lingering disappointment he felt and headed off to find his mentor. Which didn't take long as he saw the battle-scarred brown tom talking to the clan deputy.
Blackfoot!
The apprentice thought Blackfoot was one of the coolest cats ever, right up there with his mentor and Brokenstar. Any cat covered in as many scars as they are were admiredable; it was a sign of strength! Also they just looked pretty awesome with them if Fangpaw had any say in it. One day he was going to be covered in scars from the countless fights he's won.
Focus Fangpaw! Sanpping himself away from this thoughts he continued on. As he reached them he noticed Dawnpaw was with the toms and wondered if the two would be training together today.
That's it! Brokenstar may be too busy so he sent Blackfoot to see how my training is going! Once training is over and Blackfoot reports to Brokenstar how good of a job I did, there's no doubt I'll be a warrior by tonight!
His eagerness grew more at the thought as he started thinking of all the possible suffixes he could be given.
"Thought your paws grew roots." Clawface grumbled, flicking his tail he and Blackfoot started walking off, leading the apprentices to where they were going to train today. Dawnpaw walked alongside Fangpaw.
"We'll be going to the moors. You'll have to get used to hunting on them since they're ours now." Blackfoot informed the apprentice, he assumed Dawnpaw already heard this. "Hunting on the moorland will be different from the marshes. And though rabbits sometime come to our territory before, they'll be much harder to catch out in the open."
"Won't there be a bunch of rabbit burrows though?" Fangpaw asked, feeling a need to be as helpful as possible. Coming up with good ideas quickly was one of the best traits a warrior could have and he was determined to prove to them he could do that.
"Your point?" Clawface responded crossly.
"Well, can't we go in them? One cat can chase them out and the rest can catch them as they run!" "...Isn't that a good idea?" Fangpaw added after a few moments passed without anyone saying anything.
"Why don't we focus on getting used to the new terrain first, before trying any new wild ideas." Blackfoot responded.
"Oh, right. Sorry." Fangpaw mumbled, feeling his self-confidence come crashing down, being replaced with disappointment and a bit of embarrassment, he kept his gaze fixed on the ground.
"Fangpaw would you even be able to run? We'll be pushing ourselves more than usual and that wound you have on your leg may slow you down."
Wound? He was wounded? He felt wounded, but not in his leg. Looking at it, he saw a scratch going across one of his fore legs but that was really all it was, a simple scratch; why was Dawnpaw making it was such a big deal? And if he couldn't train today that means he won't become a warrior tonight! She couldn't ruin this for him.
Clawface stopped for a moment to turn around. "Did you see Yellowfang?"
"No. I-"
"Then it's fine.
She pressed on, "It might not be bad now but if you're not careful-"
"It's fine! Mind your business!" Fangpaw snapped defensively.
He was relieved that Dawnpaw dropped her concern after that. Good. He couldn't have her making him seem weak when he could be getting assessed today!
Finally the four cats crossed onto the moors, the wind here was definitely stronger, something he hadn't noticed in the heat of battle last night, and suddenly he was very aware how vulnerable it felt with nothing but tall grass around.
"Lets get started." Blackfoot's voice snapped Fangpaw back to focus. He was back to being determined about impressing the two senior cats, his expectations were even higher now that Dawnpaw pointed out his minor injury. He was going to show to Clawface and Blackfoot that he was ready.
**
Today was an utter failure! Fangpaw sat near the edge of the camp, digging his claws into the ground beneath him, looking at the mouse that only had two bites taken from it because his mind was too busy playing the horrible day over and over. Nor he or Dawnpaw caught anything! Well, I guess it's not that bad that Dawnpaw didn't catch anything. If I was the only one who failed to hunt, I'd feel even worse! Another thing he couldn't shake from his mind was the conversation between him and Clawface on their way back.
"Why'd you seem a lot more...energetic today?" Clawface had asked him. Blackfoot and Dawnpaw had gone their separate ways so the mentor and apprentice were walking back to camp alone. "Did you-"
"I wanted to prove to both you and Blackfoot that I was ready to become a warrior!" Fangpaw confessed, accidentally interrupting his mentor.
"Why all of the sudden? You still have plenty more training to do."
"...I though I'd become a warrior tonight and wanted Brokenstar to know he made the right choice."
Clawface laughed, which Fangpaw thought was unnecessary since he didn't say anything funny. "And why would you think he'd make you a warrior tonight?"
"Well...I did a good job fighting Windclan, didn't I?"
"I didn't know it was a one cat against a whole clan." Clawface meowed sarcastically.
"N-no, that's not what I meant-"
"You did your part. That's it. You did what you were supposed to do, why would you be rewarded for doing what's asked?"
Fangpaw didn't respond. He felt too disheartened to.
"Brokenstar may make cats apprentices early, but he only wants to best ones made warriors." "Don't tell him I said that." Clawface added.
That conversation didn't do anything but make him feel worse, but only did he fail to provide for this clan today but he was never going to become a warrior...unless.
Yes that's it! If Brokenstar didn't think Fangpaw was ready yet, he'll just convince him. He was about to dart off when Littlepaw waddled up to him. Even though he was about the same age as the other apprentice, he couldn't help but see him as younger because Littlepaw was much shorter than Fangpaw was. "Are you going to finish that?" Littlepaw asked, pointing at the barely eaten mouse with his nose.
"No, go ahead." Fangpaw knew his answer was rushed but that's because he had to go do what he needed to do. Littlepaw quickly grabbed it saying something about how he needed to get bigger or something Fangpaw didn't bother listening to him.
Scanning the clearing, he searched for the leader hoping he was still in camp. There! He was sitting with Blackfoot and Fangpaw set off. After a few steps, he stopped. He's probably being told how bad of a job he did during training. He stood in place, running things over in his mind, different things that he could do instead. Aha! An idea hit him like a warm ray of sun during a cold leafbare. All he needed to do was make up for today's failure and the best way Fangpaw could think of was to go catch a rabbit by himself! He remembers Dawnpaw pointing out the reason rabbits were harder to catch on the moors was due to the lack of trees or bushes they had to dodge; on the moors, they just ran and boy did they run.
Turning his head, he saw that Littlepaw had already finished the mouse and regret flared in his mind, he didn't know what else he was going to eat or when. Nevermind that. He decided he'd just catch something on the way and headed out of camp, running towards the moors.
He wanted to show to Brokenstar that he was ready, he needed Brokenstar to be proud of him.
