hi, everyone!

i thought i'd take a quick second to introduce myself and to also formally open up requests. i'm already working on a few things, but requests really do always help and feel free to submit them at any point--but, we'll get to all of that in a moment!

The siblings’ reunion after the explosion!

Denise and Darcie were terrified that they had lost David for real, especially because they just had a suicide scare..

Upon noticing that their brother was alive and well, they engulfed him into a giant hug! (Admittedly, not so much aware of his injuries and pain, but even David’s far too relieved to care.)

(( Think of the scene in Encanto, with Pepa and Julieta engulfing Bruno in a big hug! That’s how I picture the Jones siblings! (FYI) ))

- Denise’s children / David and Darcie’s niece and nephew / Marilyn and Rueben’s grandchildren.

Proud Uncle!

David was always trusted to watch over the twins whenever any of the other family members were out of the picture.

Back when Toby and Orla were younger, David would even bring them into work sometimes. (Since he had no other choice.) The other GPD members really grew to like the twins, they’d often help David care for them too.

The twins call him “Uncle David!”

They also call their aunt “Auntie Darcie!”

Extra // Background Info

- Denise is an asthmatic. (Just like her daughter)

- Darcie is diabetic, and is also considered a hypochondriac. She has to take medication for her anxieties.

- David was named after his step-grandfather. David Jeremiah Jefferson was the only parental figure Marilyn truly had in her youth. He was very understanding towards Marilyn and always tried to include her. Sadly, he was killed by cops after entering the wrong place at the wrong time, traumatizing Marilyn. Blaming her for their stepfather’s death, Marilyn’s siblings never forgave her for the incident.

- Marilyn Willow Burton was the youngest out of 9 children. She wasn’t planned, quickly becoming known as the “Black sheep” of the family.

- The Jones siblings’ father, Rueben Archibald Jones, came from a small yet well supported family. He grew up in England with his mother, grandmother, and uncle. They ended up moving to Grimsborough, and that’s where Rueben met and fell in love with Marilyn.

- After falling pregnant with Rueben’s child. Marilyn was disgraced and kicked out by her family. Rueben’s family took her in though, and they all decided to move back to England together. Rueben and Marilyn married the same year before eventually having their eldest, Denise Joanne.

- The couple lived in peace for the next two years, eventually having David Jeremiah. However, soon after, Marilyn found herself trapped into her biological family’s clutches again. The Burtons threatened her with taking away her children if she doesn’t take them back, leaving her no choice.

- The couple had no choice, but even then, they still vowed to maintain as positive parental figures for their children the best they could. They were determined to give them the best lives they could.

- After five years, Rueben and Marilyn welcomes Darcie Joy into the world. Eventually, they’d go on to move back to Grimsborough after another few years, attempting to start a new life for the kids. However, even then they couldn’t escape the Burtons..

- Despite the Burtons’ strict rules and beliefs, Marilyn and Rueben weren’t giving up on their three children. Even as the Jones siblings grew older, their parents were positive to keep them happy and safe.

Case 52 | The Conspiracy Spoilers!

- When the rest of the Jones family got word about David’s suicide attempt, they were in shambles. Denise and Darcie sobbed into each other, and Marilyn and Rueben had to be held back by hospital staff. They were threatening the doctors for refusing to let them see their son..

- As the Jones’ suffered, the surviving Burtons just laughed at the news. Blaming David for his mental health, the Burtons went on to claim that he’d be “better off dead for not contributing to the family.”

- That was the last straw for Marilyn. She could handle her bio family throwing those kinds of insults at her. But her only son? Hell no! That’s when Marilyn finally snapped. Confronting the Burtons for the last time, Marilyn finally gained the courage she needed to cut them out of both her and her family’s lives once and for all. No more calls. No more texts. No more favors. Nothing. She was done with them forever. And much to her relief, it worked. The Jones family could finally live in peace now..

it’s been a while since we’ve seen pinnikolai ❛❛ pik ❜❜ in the shadow world. the angel ( seraphim ) resides in the faerie realm and new york and reminds us of woodland-weathered sweaters, pocketfuls of mundane treasures and whispers of encouragement. rumor has it that they might have an affiliation to heaven, but only time will tell where their loyalties really lie. until then, only one thing is certain: the descent into hell will be easy for the anomaly [ ... ]

trigger warnings_ anxiety, death, isolation, manipulation, torture and trauma.

an angel far too curious for their own good brought into being by the sheer will of god, predating the creation of earth and the human race.

enamored at first glance with earth and its inhabitants ( and everything created by their father ), yet forbidden to see it firsthand for centuries.

when permitted, it was en masse, each with a task that not only willed they see mortals but slaughter them as demanded demonstrations of loyalty fatedly failed to meet their father’s skyscraping standards. regardless of any reservations they may or may not have had, in the lord’s name, pik embarked on this mission ( as they would many missions ) with unwavering loyalty.

however, as their awareness broadened and alliances expanded, convictions irrefutably wavered, with seeded doubts taking root upon witnessing their celestial kin cosimo’s defiance post-their fallen sister camilla’s descent.

an order demanded of cosimo and themself, who neither had the heart to carry out, was blatantly disobeyed by both, saving an innocent nephilim child from a cruel fate. this action wasn’t without consequences, however, as though they’d managed to evade pursuing angels for some time after, pinnikolai was eventually captured and detained in heaven for their insubordination.

their mind was ‘ clear again ’ [ ... ] until the cries of a soul in agony caught their frequency and they regained coherency. one escape attempt later landed them on earth–jefferson city, missouri–where they were surprised to find that the voice that’d managed to reach them was attached to their true vessel, arty, and he was attached to a wall. they freed him, healed him, and asked one thing of him: his permission, to which he replied with an affectionate, ❛❛ fine. ❜❜

their fusion with arty ushered in a surge of power, but the longer they spent away from heaven, the weaker their tether. with what strength they had, pik used it to hide from their father and reunite with their brother and sister in italy, where they were overjoyed to discover the existence of their brother’s daughter aurora and the formation of a new family.

for a fleeting period, they found solace here, until god intervened: as cosimo departed to heal teresa of an inflicted illness, angels were sent to seize that new family, and in a bid to protect, pik was forcibly extracted from arty.

in heaven’s grasp again, they languished, anxious for their brother and his family, yet unable to do anything. their celestial kin, acting as both surgeon and sentinel, stood watch while they beseeched them as in times past. however, this time, their gaze met theirs. a stroke of fortune, albeit insignificant, for instead of another memory modification, they were escorted into a different chamber.

a doomed situation orchestrated on earth leads arty to sacrifice himself for another, and his soul is ever-so conveniently bypassed by the elders and used as an ultimatum. an enraged pinnikolai made to choose between remaining in heaven forever, never to see earth or their new family again, or hand-delivering arty’s soul to hell ( in a last ditch effort ) grabbed his soul and jumped, landing on earth a whitelighter anew, completely devoid of memory, yet on a mission: lead the witch, darcy, down the right path.

except [ ... ] she didn’t want to be led, and pinnikolai was ill-equipped to lead, having no memories to draw upon. still, they devoted themself to trying and dismantling the invisible barrier she’d raised between them. but just as they thought they felt a fissure forming, a mystical force spirited her away.

in their quest for her, amidst the chaos as demonic attacks swept through certain realms, they chanced upon a band of defenders, vigilantes shielding innocents from the violent tide, and forged deep bonds with them. the group was a motley mix, from merfolk to werewolves to shadowhunters, and they fought alongside them until circumstances forced them apart.

those circumstances being the very same spell that whisked their charge away, whisking them off and landing them in the heart of the faerie realm’s wander woods. their ignorance quickly led them astray, but their resolve spurred them onward—until they sensed darcy’s presence ( and, unknowingly, cosimo’s ) in the realm and followed it like a beacon, arriving at her front doorstep a few beats later.

reunions continued while exploring the realm as cosimo’s proximity reignited cascades of memories, evoking an emotional embrace with their brother. the revelation of their angelic essence turned whitelighter left them in awe. despite uncertainties, pik embraced their newfound identity, committed to guiding darcy along the path of righteousness while navigating the faerie realm.

in the tumult of faerie’s assault, as realms merged and spells dissolved, they were cosmically catapulted from the realm into new york wherein they landed in its streets a seraphim anew. lost in this novel reality, they found sanctuary when a chance encounter with a mundane going by ms. plantar led them to her apartment, offering solace amidst the confusion.

tricked, trapped and tortured by a cultlike ex-angel garrison that’d been drawn to new york by faerie, initially seeking elusive answers but claiming to ultimately be driven by vengeance against cosimo and themself, while they only perceived a group of lost siblings due to their father’s negligence. striving to save them, rather, they were instead saved by another’s grace, triggering retaliation by banishing their savior and annihilating the rest.

the trauma of consuming another’s grace led pik to self-imposed isolation and inner turmoil. though unshackled once more, they shackled themself. their love for their celestial family a double-edged sword as their understanding for their father wore even thinner. however, these memories were fated to vanish when amid an unavoidable gathering, a mundane anxiety attack triggered a spontaneous transfer of them to astra, offering relief but leaving her with a weight they could no longer bear.

confused by what they felt and how it led to a transference, they attempted to reclaim the memories from astra some time after, only to find that they’d been stolen from her. despite the added chaos of hell rising, pinnikolai remains watchful ( albeit characteristically curious ) as the increase of demonic power seeps into other realms.

See, I would make Jefferson Colonel Andrews. If I can make Jeff ambiguously gay, I’m gonna do it. As for Elizabeth Charming, I’m thinking my love Cruella de Vil. I just love her in fics and my desire to pair Jefferson and Cruella in something is overwhelming. Regina could make a decent Amelia Heartwright. Especially since she has an old husband. Oooh and then I could make it hooked Queen!

Now, obviously you could also just take the general premise and run with it. Instead of Austenland it’s Fairy Tale Land or something. Belle attends on the cheap package and thinks she’s not paired with anyone so spends all her time with the court jester or something. Then you have the premium package girls like Mary Margaret who is paired up with Prince Charming, Regina who is supposed to be wooed by the king but finds herself falling for the stable boy instead and Emma who is torn between the dashing pirate and the humble spinner’s son. Then you have the evil wizard Rumplestiltskin who is supposed to play the villain, but Gold finds himself falling for new arrival Belle. I’m just spitballing. Also, I swear someone talked about doing this at some point!

Jade grew up in Aurora Bay with a completely normal life, nothing about how Jade was raised would ever raise suspicion on her turning out the way she has. She began life in an ordinary way, with an ordinary family, two sisters, a brother, and adoring parents. For the first ten years of her life things were normal, she went to school, did her homework, and overall found herself enjoying herself.

Then her father started drinking, he wasn’t a nice person when he drank. Jade found herself more often than not hiding from her father. Finally, her mother grew the courage to leave him and they found themselves at a women's shelter a few towns away, it wasn’t long after that they learned her father was driving drunk one night and crashed into a building in town, he had passed away almost immediately.

They moved back to town after his funeral, but Jade became a little more angry, her father deserved a far more painful and traumatic death than he had received. Her mother became a shell of her former self and Jade at twelve grew up so fast with having to look after her siblings and take care of them. Jade worked her way back up in school but still struggled to keep on top of things.

By the time she went to high school, her mother had finally returned to some of her former self and Jade had more freedom to do as she pleased. Her mother didn’t care what she and her siblings did and it led to Jade hanging out with the wrong people, but they were the people who she would fully understand and come to find her feet with.

Out of the group, Jade fell in love with Darcy quicker than she’d ever admit to out loud, but while she is an impulsive person there just was never the right time to tell her exactly how she felt. Jade slept around a little more than she wanted to, and she quickly fell into the drinking habit at sixteen. Knox was her first time, and while she wasn’t in love with him like Darcy, she found herself holding a special spot for Knox.

When the night of the fire came she was having such a good time, she wasn’t prepared for Knox and Darcy to fight. She tried her best to try and save them but in the end, it was everyone for themselves when the fire started. Jade moved relatively quickly but her ankle was caught, it took her far longer to free it than it should have and by the time she got out she had no idea where anyone was. She kept screaming for Darcy but she had no idea if she was too late.

She stared at the burning building until paramedics arrived and she was taken to the hospital. Her family were given a great debt for her and for a long time, Jade dreamed that she was the one who took Knox’s place. She hated knowing one of their friends was gone, but when she tried to go and talk to everyone people had disappeared, her once best friends had run away and didn’t want to know her.

She found the note Darcy had left for her a few weeks after the fire. The whole time she didn’t have a way to say the same to her, Jade decided it was time for her to leave and find her own feet. She dug her toes into the world of music, finding it a great place to release emotions that she couldn’t put into words.

Now she’s been back in Aurora for a month, and she’s trying to repair some things with her life but she’s struggling with PTSD and trying to find her footing, however, her journey brought her some inner peace and the anger she once radiated has been turned outward and she tries to show kindness and softness first.

I found this image from the Facebook page, "Pride and Prejudice Memes." I really enjoy the concept of putting each character into a yearbook and giving them these quotes that are tailored to each of their characters. To begin, Caroline Bingley's quote fits her quite nicely, as she does in fact have a lot of money, but it is ironic because it is her family's, and the material aspect is all she seems to be stressing about for the majority of the novel. However, this quote comes from Gwyneth Paltrow, a well-known and highly-esteemed actress, who also owns a lot of money. This suggests that Caroline is like her in the fact that she is unafraid to flaunt her wealth, regardless of where it comes from. Next, comes to most sensible (I love this word now) character of the story, Miss Jane Bennet. Once again, the parallel between Jane and Cinderella is evident, as both are characters who are kind and gentle to others, usually making decisions that will make others happy. It is interesting to consider how in so many different stories, there are always similar versions of the same characters, and this yearbook collage makes that abundantly clear with all of the alike comparisons. Wickham's quote is particularly funny because, in my opinion, he is one of the least likable people in the entire novel. This quote only emphasizes his unawareness of people's feelings towards him and centers on his selfish and demeaning persona. Charles Bingley is honestly quite an airhead, so his quote also makes a lot of sense, especially paired with the picture chosen. He looks very aloof, and that is definitely portrayed through his character's actions as well. He is generally just a happy man, with a lot of energy and excitement. Next, I thought it was clever how Elizabeth Bennet was compared to Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson, one of the founders of our country, was deemed to be wise and independent, just as Elizabeth is in this story. She does not let others tell her what to do and stands her ground, which is very impressive in the society at the time where most things are dictated and controlled by men. She had many a "hater," as the quote explicates, but she never let them alter her course of actions. While this clearly is not a quote from Thomas Jefferson, it still regains the essence of his influence and therefore transfers to Elizabeth. Lastly, Mr. Darcy's quote is the only one that differs from the rest. To start, his background is black, not white, probably symbolizing his independence and the ambiguity of his character. Next, his quote is only from himself, in contrast to the others which are all from somebody else. His quote fits his character very well as he is a man who does not like to express himself and is really quite reserved. The reader never knows what is coming next in regards to Mr. Darcy, and when unexpected actions do take place, they usually come as a great surprise to not only the reader but to the characters involved as well. His picture looks quite sheepish and uninterested as well, which gives the impression that if this were a real yearbook, Mr. Darcy would rather be anywhere but there.

Again, this post came from a Facebook page titled "Pride and Prejudice Memes," which I think just goes to show how well-loved this Jane Austen novel is. For the other novels we have read from her, it took a lot more poking around in places to find ones specific to the story. In regards to Pride and Prejudice, however, it seems that there is something to be found on every social media platform. I honestly love how a book written in the 19th century still carries so much influence to this day and really reiterates the idea that literature is timeless. It is for that reason that I love English and literature so much, and finding this post was something very pleasurable to do.

This Day in X-Project - February 20

PHASE 2

2015: Adrienne comes across Jean in the rec room prompting Adrienne to have a breakdown as she tries to deal with the new version of her friend. Later Jean texts Adrienne asking if she’d like to go for the promised cupcake. The two go to a bakery for cupcakes after Jean’s fellowship interview. Megan asks Topaz if she’s like to go out for coffee this weekend to catch up. Topaz then texts Amanda telling her that there is a Megan Gwynn in this universe. Wanda wanders down to the medLab to see about a regular check up from Cecilia and the talk turns towards the state of the world and themselves Into The Fog: Jennie remembers Hammersmith and Fulham as they were in the past and provides Marie-Ange, Doug and Amanda with everything she knows about Mother and her Disciples. Clint drives Matt to the mansion and they meet Cecilia. Wade and Adrienne decide to buy out the cupcake ATM as a kind of therapy.

2016: After sparring, North and Wade set up shop to leave some surprises for the thieves in their lives. Tandy invites the mansion's residents to her Leap Day birthday party. Natasha texts Clint about a bunch of things.

2017: Nica shares an Epic Rap Battle between Frederick Douglass and Thomas Jefferson. Warren thanks Darcy for his birthday cookies and suggests a movie night with Jubilee. Warren announces on the journals that he forgot his birthday and declares it his Birthday Week instead. Hope A. asks Sue and Doug for help on a research project for X-Factor. Honey, I Shrunk the Magic Class: When Billy pops into Amanda’s shrinking objects class, spells go haywire and the six magic users find themselves shrunk down to the size of bugs and battling Topaz’s animated Army men; sucked up into the vacuum cleaner, the group escapes the trash can and heads for the kitchen; Rogue wonders where Amanda has gotten to, having made plans to meet; in the kitchen, Megan tries to get Namor’s attention and is nearly squashed for her trouble, and the group realises they have to solve their own problems; Fourteen wonders at a sudden burst of “oh crap” thoughts and asks for aspirin; Billy and Stephen risk life and limb crossing the halls during dinner rush; Tabitha is Done with animated objects when she encounters Topaz’s Army figures; Tandy also has noticed the missing magic class and the animated Army men; Topaz and Clea find themselves fleeing from Rooney the Cat; Marie-Ange alerts X-Force and the X-Men to Amanda’s absence and asks for a security sweep of the mansion.

2018:

2019: Isle of Glass: Felicia lets the various teams know that a series of possibly magical items have been going missing through Europe.

2020: Maya posts her thoughts about possible future careers.

2021:

2022: Matt posts a cartoon about bats using sound to find their food. Sarah and Matt make plans to hit each other.

2023: Operation: Bat Country: Gabe passes Felicia a note begging not to make him sit next to Jubilee for the remainder of the trip; Quentin texts Gabe to ask what’s up with the postcard; Darcy and Kevin re-enact one of the classic road trip movies; on the last leg, Darcy gets whimsical about the RV’s CB call sign, Doug explains the joke about Thor’s hammer, and they discover a new way to eat Girl Scout cookies; it’s dawn when they reach their destination - the mutant brothel known as the X-Ranch; Stacy X follows up with Gabriel after his abrupt departure from the group welcome; Amanda goes out for a smoke break and finds Stacy out on the deck, where they chat about what else - Kevin; The Vegas crew (minus Gabriel, plus Marie-Ange) meet up with Stacy for intel and make a plan almost immediately after arriving at the X-Ranch; X-Force arrives at Burning Man and set up camp. Chicago is Burning: Quentin texts Alex, Sooraya, and Angelo about a new mutant manifestation in Chicago.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE! The big news around here this past week was again weather-related. On Thursday we had some crazy thunderstorms but south of us, there was a “Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS)” tornado warning that was issued for the tornado that touched down near Evansville Wisconsin. That tornado tracked across Rock, Dane, and Jefferson Counties for 24.53 miles and packed wind speeds of 135 MPH, just 1 MPH shy of an EF3. The other tornado near Albany Wisconsin in Green County received a rating of a high-end EF1. This tornado was on the ground for 8.35 miles and had wind speeds of 110 MPH. These tornadoes are the first February tornadoes on record in Wisconsin’s state history. Daughter #2 lives down in that area but while they had warnings they just had high winds and thunderstorms. Grandson Thomas was hurt while playing at school back in December. Following directions from the doctors for the past weeks he was still favoring that leg. Thankfully his mother was vigilant knowing there was something still wrong even though Thomas didn't let it slow him down. Following an MRI earlier in the week we learned on Thursday he has multiple stress fractures in his foot and ankle and free fluid. He is now in a cast for 4 - 6 weeks. He is an active little boy so the next few weeks are going to be tough and he is upset he probably going to miss playing baseball this year. I am just glad that this was finally caught and that while it sucks to be in a cast now, I would hate to see what would have happened if had gone undiagnosed. A mother knows when there is something wrong with their child. On Friday I had an appointment with my primary doctor for a yearly Medicare Wellness Check. I am doing well but my blood sugar was a little high so we are adjusting my medication. I always joke that when I go see this guy he always tries to find something wrong. This time it was a nice visit talking about tests I could have in the future and that the past year I have felt better than I had in a while. Saturday we had a nice surprise. Daughter #1 came to visit so her dad could do her taxes and she brought Kaden and Remi along. The boys helped move some things around for us and Remi took down the polar bear inflatable outside. They did things in minutes that would have taken us all day. We are blessed that they don't live too far away for these quick visits. I just wish these boys wouldn't grow so fast. Every time I see them they seem to have grown several inches. The best thing was the great hugs they give that will keep me going until their next visit. This Nana loves those hugs!!
