Some updated headcanons since even looking at what I wrote years ago fills me with dread!😃

You're never going to wonder where you two stand in a relationship

Firstly because I feel like, to an extent, he likes labels (come on, we’ve all seen that black Friday bit at this point)

Also he’s just… not very smooth

So even if you suck at taking hints, I promise he’s going to make it easy for you with the obvious ways in which he’ll try to look cool in front of you

As this actual flirting, I feel like it would be a bit different with a guy?

Only because I assume he’s less experienced when it comes to dating men. I mean, he likes to blend in and in his younger years he might have not been too open about his sexuality due to concern as to how others might react. Especially in a town like Hatchetfield, like, I think Starkid made it pretty clear they have a bullying problem

Either way he will be pretty stressed about what exactly he should do to subtly (we all know he’s far from subtle, but he does not) suggest that he’s interested in you

I feel like the first dead giveaway is that he’s very helpful all of a sudden. But just toward you

Also, he’s being constantly teased by Ted and hyped up by Bill and if Paul doesn't make you realize his obvious feelings, those two will blow his cover

But either way, at least you’ll know

₊˚ʚ note | this is my first mcyt imagine on tumblr, so please be tender with me lol. the musical they go and watch is called black friday, and it's connected to tgwdlm (the musical that ranboo and tubbo watched on stream a while ago). you don't need to have seen black friday OR the musical VOD to understand it though, don't worry. also the timeline is wrong, since ranboo and toby didn't even know each other when black friday came out but shhh

wilbur pretends to be too cool for the rest of them, literally vibrating from excitement. they're all jumping on the spot slightly, waiting for the doors to open. he acts like tubbo and ranboo dragged him along, but he probably would have gone anyway. just to see you.

when ranboo and tubbo watched your last musical on stream, he'd tuned in. of course he did, he tried to watch as many of his friend's streams as possible, even just as background noise. background noise turned into making the window full screen, turned into watching all your other stuff, turned into subscribing to your twitch.

the doors open and they start ushering people inside letting them take their seats. tommys tugging on his sleeve, dragging him to the front row where their tickets say, sitting right in the aisle seat.

as the musical starts, you and a few of your costars make your say down through the audience to make your entrance and right before you step up onstage, your fingers brush his shoulder. you don't pause your singing though, to give him an in-character wink. tommy jabs him in the wrist as you continue to sing, glancing over your shoulder as you exit discreetly, ready to make your first quick change. some of the cast stays on, singing vibrantly about.... something fucking creepy. he wasn't paying attention, if he was honest. but not for lack of trying, he swears!

the next characters are two he recognises from the last musical, and he cheers along with the audience, not even knowing the two were connected. he's eventually swept up in the show.

he bops his head to the songs - they're catchy as fuck - and when tommy laughs uncomfortably loud at a dick joke, he's not even looking to see if it made you break character. you change the dialogue once, and it's so subtle - such a small change - that no one notices. no one would have if they hadn't seen the show before.

you're supposed to make a fortnite joke, but you know your directors won't care if you change just the one word.

"they're all into minecraft, dude!" you say, eyes flicking ever so slightly to his little group. the crowd laughs, the joke still lands, and tommy lets out an inappropriately loud cheer. wilbur tells him to shut up, but he does so with a smile on his face.

the last song of the show gives him chills, and they're not the only ones who stand up to give their applause. tubbo and ranboo are chattering excitedly ("no, i swear it was her! she had the same jumper and everything!"), while tommy raves about the main character, also coincidentally named tom.

wilbur just nods as they stand out in the foyer of the theatre, waiting for the cast to make their appearances. the other three go up to everyone they can, tommy making an absolute idiot of himself in front of tom's actor, who is 100% into it. he lays back, waiting. you're the last one out, and he practically attacks you. you beam at him.

"wilby!" no one around you hears, and you launch yourself into his arms. he chuckles, eyeing his friends. they haven't noticed. "did you enjoy the show?"

"i did, love," he said earnestly. "you were incredible. except for that bit where you had to kiss that guy. twice. it's like they don't know you have a boyfriend," he teased you, bumping you with his elbow.

"to be fair, i didn't have a boyfriend when they cast me," you pointed out. he smiled at you and leant down to press a kiss to your temple. "can i meet your friends now?" he nods down at you, and you race off, stealing their attention from your costar.

you introduce yourself, and they follow, if not somewhat confused. their faces all brighten simultaneously when you tack on "wil's girlfriend."

tommy fake gags, and he knows what his little brother is thinking, exactly what tommy's thinking. "she's not out of my league, tom," he says.

tommy looks scandalised. "yes she is,"

he looks over at you talking animatedly with tubbo and ranboo. "yes she is," he agrees.

me and @local-soda-can are gonna start outlining Nerdy Prudes Must Die Kai soon and here are a few ideas I had for that

can you guys tell i love inserting Kai’s name into the titles???

Kai comes in before/after/during literal monster holding a map of the school (the police or something forcibly enrolled her and now she has to go to school) and she’s just completely confused and lost

Max does the whole “this is my hallway!!” thing and Kai’s like “fun fact I literally do not care” and he pisses her off so much she kicks him in the balls- she meets the rest of the prudes while on the run from various teachers who’re trying to expel her or something

Kai was in the Waylon Place night of the prank to try and relax and get away from the chaos of Hatchetfield. There isn’t a sign of anyone breaking in bc Kai knows how to pick locks. Kai hangs out there a lot.

She walks in on them looking at Max’s (almost) dead body and is like “woah you guys killed that guy!!! ö haha I’m gonna go call the cops on yall I’m OUT!!!”

…Grace then blackmails her into helping bury/hide the body because she threatens to pin everything on Kai (bc Kai breaks in and shit)

Theres this scene with max and kai im making into a comic that has something to do with snickers and it needs to be real because it’s silly and also it makes way for this idea:

Kai hangs out with Max’s ghost a lot and she vents to him about how much she hates the prudes, how she wants to get back to Unington, and other shit

They like sending videos to the prudes group chat (that Kai was forcibly added into) that make it seem like Max is about to kill Kai and she always texts the dumbest shit after like “phew!!! made it out okay!!! gee, let’s hope that doesn’t happen again!”

They laugh their asses off about it

Kai has no friends during the run of NPMD

she hates the prudes for getting her involved in a manslaughter/murder,

she has no clue if max is her friend or if he’s only keeping her around for the snickers bars,

And everyone else is too in love with afraid of her to even get near her

It kinda hurts but she’s learning to deal with it

She’s been bunking with Paul

They met on the street and they talked for a bit and Kai was like “yeah my hotels about to kick me out lol” and he was like “oh you can stay with me”

He doesn’t know why he said that, maybe it was just meant to be.

Anyways Kai agreed and Paul is the biggest dad ever

He asks her how school was and he cooks dinner for them and they snuggle on the couch and have movie nights

They have to share a bedroom but he got her dividers and turned the bottom of the closet into a hangout nook for Kai so it’s like she has her own little room

everyone keeps dragging Kai everywhere by the wrist- she does NOT wanna be there-

Kai keeps talking to the audience in front of everyone and she interacts with the audience a lot

For example, she crumples up and tosses her map to someone in the audience and finger guns and winks at them afterwards

She gets like a gazillion love notes a day-

she gets so angry she just eats them-

nobody knows why and they’re just like:

“I LITERALLY HATE ALL OF YOU”

All of Kai’s classes have at least one prude in them

Kai kinda wishes she had friends and tries to talk to people, but she’s so autistic, socially awkward, and anxious she either ends up shutting down, staying quiet, or insulting them

Kai goes to the sports games purely for the food and hides in the bathroom the entire time (the crowds and lights overstimulate her)

Kai hangs out at beanie’s a lot

She’s still Emma’s favorite customer.

She accidentally calls her Mom a lot.

Emma loves it every time.

It often goes uncorrected.

If Kai is alive for homecoming, she’s going there WAY overdressed-

she’s been homeschooled the majority of her life and has never been to a school dance-

she’s only been to like high class galas/parties so she thinks it’s like that

spoiler alert it is NOT

Kai is aware she’s in a musical

she really doesn’t wanna be in one but she knows

sometimes you can see her groovin uncomfortably to the music in the background

That’s all! Idk if I’m gonna script this one out as, like I’ve said before: TKWDLM has a special place in my heart and I’m not ready to move on

Oh, my. Anon, I love your mind. This is such a silly idea to write with this character. Because, like, he would definitely just be helplessly strung along when helping Bill (he did not want to, mind you, he just hadn't managed to find his way out of this one). And then. He sees the most handsome guy at the counter. All his annoyance goes out of the window IN SECONDS. His brain cells follow soon after. So he’s just left there, standing and fumbling, trying to look like a normal human person. But also cool. Like a cool normal guy. The first interaction leaves you utterly confused. What is wrong with this guy??? But you don't think of it too much, I mean, you’ve got your own store - you’ve seen all sorts of people come in. This is Hatchetfield after all. So you move on and even kind of forget the guy (even though he was attractive in his own, awkward way) until he comes back. And again. And again. And he just??? Starts showing up??? All the time???? On like, the fourth try he makes an introduction. Sort of. He tells you his name and then rambles on about his office job and how he likes coming here because it’s the only good store to aid his hobbies. He just sort of trails off there. After he becomes a regular, you notice that there is no pattern to what he buys. No discernible hobby which would explain the random things he buys. But despite seeming so awfully average with every sentence that he’s saying, he does pique your interest. Before you know, it’s been half a year and you kind of look forward to his visits and stiff chats. When he comes in next time, you notice that he seems… different. Like he’s trying to gather the courage for something. He approaches you with an empty box where ink bottles once were. He asks you if there will be a restock. Truthfully, you say that you aren’t sure when that’s going to happen. You can actually see a bit of relief on his face before he goes back to trying to act nonchalantly. He says that he needs to know the exact time because he needs the product quite urgently. Before you can answer, he proposes to give you his number so you can let him know what you get more of it. Quickly, he writes down his number for you and leaves. Something tells you, he’ll be back soon anyways, even if you don’t get the ink

John’s Sniggle

Pairing: John MacNamara x Sniggle!Reader

Fandoms: StarKid, Hatchetfield stories

Summary: John meets someone while in the Black and White that tries to help him get out.

Warnings: None that I can think of

Author’s Note: This takes place in a timeline where everything turns out fine in Hatchetfield. Reader uses they/them pronouns.

In the end, General John MacNamara didn’t mind that he sacrificed himself for the President of the United States. President Howard Goodman wasn’t the sharpest star on the flag, but he and John were able to figure out the entity known as Wiggly’s plan to start World War III. President Goodman would head back to reality and work with PEIP to get the world back to something resembling peace.

MacNamara had also, during his limited time in the Black and White, gotten in contact with a young woman named Lex. Lex was then on the way to wake up the sleeping warrior and destroy Wiggly’s birth canal.

Everything would be alright. The world would be protected. John made peace with his death as he began to fully dematerialize.

“Not so fast,” a voice quietly cried.

John also wasn’t expecting a hand to grab hold of his. His eyes sprung open to see one of Wiggly’s servants, a Sniggle, holding his hand. He immediately pulled back, but the Sniggle’s grip was too tight. “Unhand me, you--”

The Sniggle brought a finger up to their lips. “Shh! Not so loud. I’m trying to help you.”

John sized up his possible accomplice. “...Impossible.”

“It is happening, though,” the Sniggle reasoned. “Wiggly’s evil. All my siblings are evil. I don’t want to be evil. Come on, will you trust me long enough for me to get you out of here?”

MacNamara thought about it for only a moment. “Well, seeing as you are offering me my only hope of survival at this juncture, I believe I have no choice but to trust you.”

The Sniggle shrugged, “That works for me. Now, we have to get past my siblings and Wiggly in order for you to get back through the portal. Your only rules are to do what I say, and not let go of my hand. If you let go of me, you will continue to quickly dematerialize. Understood?”

“Mx. Sniggle, you will find that I follow orders very well.” MacNamara saluted with his free hand, which also luckily happened to be his right.

The Sniggle and John took a walk through Drowsytown, until the Sniggle pulled John behind one of the clouds that was strewn all around the Black and White.

“There are some of my siblings,” explained the Sniggle, “We have to wait to keep moving until they fall asleep.”

John cocked an eyebrow. “So, we just sit here?”

The Sniggle scoffed. “Yeah. What did you think this was going to be? Running and explosions?”

“That’s what I was raised to think life was going to be like, yes,” noted John.

The Sniggle gave him a weird look. “Good to know I’m not the only one here with a traumatic childhood.”

John observed, “So, you did have a childhood. Fascinating. And you keep referring to the other Sniggles as your siblings. Does that mean Wiggly is--?”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” the Sniggle finalized.

John shut up.

About half a minute went by before the Sniggle filled the silence. “When I said I didn’t want to talk about my family...I didn’t mean I didn’t want to talk about anything...”

“What would you like to talk about?” John inquired.

The Sniggle gulped, “What’s...the Blue like?”

John answered as if it were any other question. “Well, it’s certainly brighter. There are people where the Sniggle are here, and my world is run by love. Or, at least, that’s how I see it.”

“Explain,” the Sniggle urged.

John had no problem doing so. “A boy falls and scrapes his knee; his parent is there to pick him up, dust him off, and make it all better. A girl calls her best friend in the middle of the night about a suitor who has broken her heart; that best friend is knocking on her door within the hour with snacks and tissues in hand. A person finds themself in a precarious situation; a complete and total stranger puts their own needs aside just to help...Thank you, by the way.”

The Sniggle was flustered. They clearly weren’t expecting to receive thanks for their actions. “I had no idea there were so many different kinds of love. All I really know is the primal kind humans use to procreate.”

John was quick to correct, “But love isn’t necessarily involved in that. What you’re talking about is, say, two people seeing each other across the room, and rest of the world disappears. It’s each of those two people doing anything to make sure the other is safe and happy--Hmm.” He stopped suddenly. “Perhaps there is a chance at something more here--”

But the Sniggle wasn’t looking at John. Instead, their gaze was focused on the field of their sleeping brethren. “They’re asleep! Come on, We need to be very careful.”

Slowly, both of them made their way through the slew of sleeping Sniggles. At one point, John’s Sniggle made a false step and tripped. It looked as if they were going to fall on one of the slumbering Sniggles, but John caught them in a dip just in time.

The two stared at each other, shocked for a moment, before John set them back on their feet and did the gentlemanly thing and stepped away--right onto a sleeping Sniggle.

“Wha...? Wha-He-Hey! Get back here!” The Sniggle’s exclamations started waking up other Sniggles as well.

John’s Sniggle had already started pulling him along with their connected hands as the Sniggle urged, “Run!”

The two weaved their way through danger, then halted before their final enemy. The other Sniggles stopped as well out of respect and fear for their overlord.

“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” Wiggly began menacingly. One of my Sniggles, trying to run away with one of my prisoners. Now doesn’t that sound crazy-wazy?”

“The portal’s closing!” John warned his Sniggle.

They replied, “We’re going to go straight through his legs. At the last second, you’re going to jump through the portal and go home.”

“And leave you here? I can’t--” he tried.

His Sniggle snapped, “I thought you were good at following orders?!”

“Is there something you two would like to share with the class?” Wiggly teased. “Or do you want help?!” Wiggly’s voice turned low-pitched and devilish on the last word, and suddenly all the other Sniggles were rushing John and his Sniggle.

John’s Sniggle ordered, “Go now!” and the two charged through Wiggly’s legs.

Your surroundings came to you in a haze. You looked around, and everything seemed different. There were metal chairs and tables and black walls and floors...

John was still there. He was putting a blanket on your naked body... Wait, that body was different. If you reached up...your antennae were gone too.

Realization washed over you. “Am I...human?” you asked in disbelief.

John, who was sitting next to you, answered with a nod.

“But...how? Sniggles can’t pass through the portal.”

“You were connected to me,” John explained. “It seems you became human when you crossed over to our side...Fascinating.”

One of the many other people in the room spoke up, addressing MacNamara, “Sir, the tests came back. You can let go. Nothing will happen to them.”

John finally unlaced your fingers, but his hand ghosted up your arm until he cupped your cheek. John kissed you.

“Why didn’t you let me go?” Once you parted from him, you asked about John’s jump through the portal.

He answered, “You never told me to.” John smiled, “It appears I follow ‘Simon Says’ rules when it comes to orders. If you want me to do something like that again, you’re going to have to be more specific.”

You laughed, but your mind couldn’t stop racing with the possibilities of your new life. “I don’t even have a name.”

After thinking for a moment, John admitted, “I’ve always liked the name Y/n.”

“Y/n. Y/n,” you tested the name on your tongue. “I like it, too. Yeah, I think Y/n will be my name.”
