do u have any game recommendations that have character creation? besides bg3 ofc

gonna be real i wouldnt recommend bg3 for a character creation game because you can only use preset faces ...... bro but if you mean it in an oc way......

i would recommend.............

heavily modded skyrim, if you don't wanna do it yourself use wabbajack, some of the modlists on there are designed for graphics or high end systems and have very pretty characters. there's also ones not like that with rougher characters or more vanilla characters. lots of choice! do not get into the community though, this is a warning

following on from that, any elder scrolls game - morrowind is the best and one of my all time favourite games

you can follow on from that with fallout if you like the setting. i recommend fallout 1 and 2 the most as i'm not the hugest fan of bethesdas fallout but that is not a common opinion that be a hot take

heavily modded final fantasy xiv, you can fully mod on the free trial version as far as i know - be warned this is an extremely slippery slope because it has a modding community to rival skyrim and many customisation mods are paid for however there are ways around that. anyway you can get mods from here, here and here as well as the nexus

elden ring, dark souls 3 - the other dark souls but those character creations look like dogshit ass but still fun to make ocs in imo.. demon souls if you own a ps5....... i do not

pillars of eternity, tyranny, while visually quite limiting the character creators are still very neat from a roleplay pov - tyrannys has a lil "post character creation" game you get to play where you make "post game" choices and i uh, used to play that all the time for fun without intent to keep playing.....

a good follow up to that would be dragon age, all three of them but specially origins, i used to play the origins and not continue the rest of the game for fun! now be warned all of these games suck terrible dick in terms of modding because it's awkward and annoying and easily broken! i recently replayed dao and dai and so much of that time was spent troubleshooting...... joyous

have to kind of mention mass effect after? but ur kind of always making the same character..... ive always struggled with mass effect personally. maybe its the setting?

you can also look at starfield since that's got actually a pretty decent cc but i did find it quite limiting. but i've not really played it for more than an hour cuz bg3 exists so i can't say much

back to crpgs, the two pathfinder games! again limiting on the character side but roleplay side very very strong. i've not played wotr but i have mutuals who act like it is gods gift to gaming and i believe them. i really liked the first!

the outer worlds could be a good choice, i really like that games aesthetic but it's another space game and i think we're seeing a pattern that i'm just not that into those. hm. it was bethesda style gaming in space before starfield exists with the personality of fallout, kind of ?

this ones going far out there but crusader kings iii has an insane character creation and my favourite ruler ever was this old witch woman cannibal who slowly but surely turned her whole corner of the globe into a witch worshipping cannibal cult. i miss her

age of wonders 4 has a really cool cc, you can even make dragons with the dlc like Actual dragons.... i have made so many characters in there and gave them their funny little lores.. age of wonders has real cool lore and it is Completely ignored by tumblr afaik and that sucks

encased is a really cool rpg it's another sci-fi-y one.. it isn't as polished as you might expect cuz it's a very ambitious game but a small indie studio but i would say if you enjoy fallout 1 + 2 you will enjoy encased

dragons dogma! you get to make two people in this just like in bg3! i made a lil girl and her big brother and i was so fucking emotional over them that i was crying constantly even when nothing was going on. i played dragons dogma to fucking death on the ps3 and i think its interesting and rich enough to sink ur teeth into

i have to mention greedfall as the owner of the greedfall url.... greedfall is very interesting as its a double A title akin to a dragon age game.. it might make one feel a tad uncomfortable because it comes across as colonialism the rpg but it does get very interesting and it has neat as hell characters and magic and big monsters who fuck hard

wasteland 3! kinda again has the fallout type of vibe it is violent and full of dark themes and twisted themes but its also extremely comical its true black humour at times and you get to make two characters again and you can even make TWO MORE CHARACTERS so i had a bunch of custom characters.. u can get really wild in the cc as well and builds are SUPER fun....... v good game

spellforce 3!!!!! i love this game, the cc is again like another crpg one but spellforce 3 has very deep lore spanning many games .. its not typical crpg in that its also like a strategy war game too but i think it does the mixture very well and i LOVEEEEEEEE the lore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

uh i forgot to mention divinity original sin 1/2 because .. bg3 should lead you right there but uh. play them both! the first is so good in coop i feel cuz of the natural banter between the protagonists. if you don't have friend the second is very good single player just. be warned i don't think it has good endings but the ride is worth it!! and divinity lore fucks hard. i also recommend divinity dragon commander because its so much fun

can i say stardew valley? mayhaps sun haven too? if ur crazy like me you can turn these into prime oc generators. also mods

oh, monster hunter world and by extension wild hearts. monster hunter world lets you make a cat and while ur character themselves doesn't get to do much story wise i did get very obsessed with my character and wanting them fight cool monsters. wild hearts is similar though your character does feel a bit more special- be warned this game is known for running like ass on most systems, its pretty good for me but be warned all the same

TEEHEES.... KENSHI!!!!!!!!!!!! i was holding back on mentioning kenshi but i can't. you can make a whole fucked up lil squad if u want. u got weird alien races. u got a billion fucking mods. u can have ur buddies limps removed and give them robot ones. u can make an army of weirdos. bro i got so invested in my kenshi squad i was writing FANFIC. i was dreaming of them. i was unable to sleep about them. i miss them so fucking much dude!! kenshi doesnt really have a story beyond what u make it. that shit is a SANDBOX.. and i love it so much. everyone should play kenshi. its kinda like rimworld if u want a comparison. i think its Perfect. the best game to exist ever (lie) its so wonderful....... man........its also broken as shit cuz its the most ambitious game to exist ever and it was made by 1 dude so

oh if u like anime games i have to mention code vein (souls like) and god eater (monster hunter like ?) they have very good ccs and i know people super into the lore and stuff. i only played code vein and i liked it a lot honestly

uhhh i mentioned 1 mmo so i should probably mention guild wars 2, the cc is very good, the whole games end game is about fashion and looking amazing. the lore is also super duper neat! i haven't played it for a long time now but i did play it on launch and i had a blast for a few years

if you like d&d i would recommend solasta! it has a very good cc i think honestly and it feels the most like this is d&d in a video game out of every game i've ever played, and it translates the system very and faithfully (as opposed to say bg3 who changed things for game reasons). solasta is also best with friends because its so in that vibe of this is a silly lil d&d party. its much fun

kotor 1 and 2, it might be hard to get into the lore and characters if you're not into star wars but i found it pretty ok to as not a huge star wars fan. i also think they deserve to be played despite that as well because they are fantastic rpgs and some of the best bioware ever made

vampire the masquerade bloodlines!!! i am not a vampire fan really, a small one, but this game captivated me.... very easy to get into making a character i feel and ur given enough to make characters that align different ways easily. the combat did not age well..... but the story and roleplay absolutely did

ok.. im gonna stop here.. but i will say give games like icewind dale and arcanum a chance.. look at old as hell crpgs and try them. this includes bg1+2 which i still need to play myself but will be soon! they are classics because their stories are fantastic, and shouldn't be missed out on!!!!!

More Ouran redesigns!

Below the cut, listen to me ramble about the art choices I made in the redesigns, please. (Honey, Yasuchika, Kasanoda, Renge)

+A little sketch of Haruhi & Tamaki 😊

I redid Honey's because I was so unhappy with the first version, but I like this one a LOT more. He kinds of looks like an idol, but I'm not mad at it lol

The main thing I don't like about the canon design of Honey is that he looks like a literal child (wow new idea alert) and somehow in my first redesign I didn't get rid of that problem?? And I just didn't like the way that one turned out art-wise.

So! This time, I made his face a lot less round and decided to give him shorter hair in a more natural/ash blonde color. Instead of going full l*lita, I was aiming more for "soft boy" & I spent a good minute just coloring his eyes so they look pretty magical (or a bit creepy, I can't tell lol) but I wanted him to have long pretty lashes. Also, I added a little scar on the bridge of his nose to hint at his hidden violent side

(That shirt is entirely improvised lmao)

Anyway, Yasuchika!

I always felt kind of bad for him (for that one episode that he appeared lol), so I wanted to lean into the fact that he's kinda bitter Honey left the Judo club but still admires him a lot.

I had to remember what he looked like first, but I actually really like his design in the manga so its practically the same lol. The hair is slightly different though. And, it's subtle, but his hair is bleached here as a tiny nod that he wants to be more like his brother, though he didn't go full blonde. And since their hair and eyes are different, I now headcanon that they have different moms, because I can and it tugs at my heartstrings for some reason.

Now, Kasadona's and Renge's were done kind of a while ago, so the art is marginally worse imo, but anyway

Onto Kasanoda!

Another character that I always loved and felt sad about! This time he has two episodes, I think.

Since it's important to his character, I had to keep him looking scary, but that doesn't mean I couldn't make him look sad too! I love aiming for subtle expressions lol, I remember this one was really fun.

I can't tell you why I made his hair wavy/curly, I just wanted that, but those little shaved bits at the corners of his hairline were very intentional; it's meant to kind of mimic devil horns just to solidify that he's seen as kind of evil and whatever. And his eyes! I think that blizzard nickname/reputation (i can't remember) is really unique, so it exaggerates his cold glare.

(Trying to avoid saying 'kind of' so much, jeez)

Last up, Renge!

She also kind of looks like an idol, mostly 'cause of the pose and little sparkle, though. And oddly enough, I really didn't like her when I was originally watching the show (thought she was annoying lol) but I kind of adore her now because..

This girl is a nerd, she's silly, she's a cosplayer, a complete madwoman, and girl boss! (Character-wise, I only really take issue with the 'fuj*shi' 'y*oi stan' part, so that's cut for my version) But I really wanted to show that more fun, adventurous part of her, so she has pink dye on the underside, with her hair pulled into this big red bow.

I don't have many thoughts on her past what I already said, she just deserves to be cute and have fun. But I do think she should be in on the secret that Haruhi's a girl, and they should be good friends, the show is just lacking in girl friendships. (Excluding the Zuka club, they're full on lesbians and the show portrayed them so weirdly imo.)

no cus i totally understand your frustration, ive also quit splatfests for the moment until they get an overhaul

i suggest if you feel close to getting hateful to either shiver or shiver fans then maybe quit for a while for your own sake cus ive felt a lot better after doing so, im still really sensitive to negative comments towards frye or rude ones about shiver winning but taking some time for myself has made me feel infinitely better

ive been close to hating shiver before bc of how cocky and rude them and their fans can be but it doesnt really do anything but sour your enjoyment of the game more, so its really not worth it

i do have to say though, anyone who says "its just a game" reaaally needs to understand the frustration of people OTHER than them, sympathy is something a lot of people forget about when it comes to things that arent real life. just because it doesnt affect you doesnt mean everyone can shut off their attachment to the game or a character like a light switch; a lot of the time you dont know whats going on with them. i myself am really attached to frye cus i am hashtag autism creature and he brings me comfort, so anyone being rude to me about shiver winning really REALLY gets under my skin. its not entirely (if they were serious, if they werent then its not at all) their fault, but nintendo fixing the frustration of splatfests constantly keeling in one direction (which theyre supposed to do anyways but they havent) would definitely fix the issue. we need to find a way to have nintendo fix this, not attack anyone else for what bundle of pixels and text theyre attached to.

not everyone has really thick skin and if we want splatoon 3 to be more hospitable then we should try to cut down on the general splatfest bullassery in public spaces (being overly cocky and rude/blaming others in a way with no basis or truth behind it). its not something everyone can always do since we arent all perfect, but if we make steps in that direction then we could help more people enjoy the splatoon community rather than being eaten up by toxicity and spite

I don't want to quit playing it, I do enjoy splatfests, to a certain extent, i like going with my friends and i made a lot of new friends through it, it's like, the online community that I'm having a problem with

I don't hate shiver, I thought I did but I can't, she is still a comfort character (tho Frye is like, my obsession besides being my comfort character cuz I am also part part the 'tism XD), in a way, I like her dynamic with the group at least, she annoys me, yes, very much so, but I don't hate her

And I don't hate people who like her either

Who I do hate is people being mean about it, I had turned off anon cuz of a stupid person who was going around every frye support account anonymously just saying mean stuff and praising shiver as the best, I just forgot to turn it on, so thanks for reminding me 😅

Saying that "It's just a game" is so annoying to, tell that to the football fans, they go just as crazy if not more so

Splatfests are ment to be fun! You should be able to enjoy the splatfest without having to worry about people fighting

I don't like fighting with people, I hate how angry I become, how mean I can sound sometimes, I usually just vent without interacting

At least she won in Japan, so that is one other win under her belt, I just wish she'd win more in the future 😔

Oh also I almost didn't participate in this splatfest either and I did only because I haven't had time to play and I haven't finished my catalogue yet 😅 I usually use splatfests to up my catalogue quicker lmao

Also, don't worry, I won't tag anything that could get you harassed, if anything does happen, please block for your health, I don't want anything happening to you, you seem very sweet ;w;

Perfect Storm | Chapter One: Rough Beginnings

Content Warnings: the Haitani's plant a wet sloppy one on ur hands, reader is nervous for only a little, brief mentions of drug trading and violence (its Bonten what do you expect), Sanzu insults you a lot </3, he calls you "princess" as an insult cuz hes weird like that

Next- Chapter Two: Klutz

It was that afternoon when it all began.That late rainy afternoon is when your entire life changed. When you got notice that you were going from a prominent, high level Bonten assassin to the top of the ranks in only a few short weeks (props to you going above and beyond on your missions), it came as a surprise to you. Feeling dreadfully anxious, your hands had a slight tremble to them as you gripped the steering wheel driving home to get prepared. To say you were nervous was an understatement.

With anxious excitement running rampant through your veins, you set down your most expensive dress at the time, (which pales compared to the salary you make now, having been a Bonten executive for almost a full year), and hop in the shower as you braced yourself to meet the most powerful and dangerous men in all of Japan.

A meeting had been set up the night you were made aware of your promotion, as you pulled into the Bonten Headquarters parking lot, already seeing a reserved spot with your name on it. Stepping out of the vehicle, pulling down the ends of your tight dress that had ridden up your thigh, you began making the treacherous journey to the elevator. Almost getting lost in the big establishment. Adrenaline coursing through your body, you exit the elevator and begin your walk.

The executives gathered in the meeting room awaiting your arrival when they heard the click-clack of heels on their expensive marble flooring, signaling you were nearby.

“Try not to sleep with her” murmured an annoyed Kokonoi, who was looking over at the infamously seductive Haitani brothers who looked more excited than they should have been for your arrival.

This made Sanzu laugh a little too loud, “Sleep with her? I can't imagine anyone wanting to tap that”. He denied, insulting your character unbeknownst to you.

Confused, his coworkers turned to him with raised eyebrows and questioned him over his behavior. He hadn't even met you, only seeing low quality video footage of you that they all had seen during their background check. Finding out you were in the high ranks of Brahman.

To Sanzu, you being in Brahman during your youth years was enough of a reason for him to despise you without having known you. He hated Brahman and the brief mention of it was enough to set him off- so having you in the room with him was going to drive him insane.

Anything closely associated with Brahman immediately put a bad taste in his mouth. Not wanting to explain this, he had told them to ‘shut up’, displeasure obvious in his voice. They were about to argue back when they heard the clicking of heels louder than before suddenly stop when the big wooden doors were opened to reveal you, the very definition of sex appeal, they thought. Curiosity peaked, they analyzed you.

Stepping into the big room, you saw a big table where they were all seated, sipping their whiskey, gin, or wine, eyeing your every move. You stood still at the entrance of the door, glancing around the room with a cocky smile on your face, confidence radiating off of you. Making eye contact with each of them you continued to walk into the room, scanning it till your eyes met an empty chair.

You had strutted in here with the most confidence to prove you were worthy enough to be in their powerful presence. However, in reality you felt as if you were going to collapse and melt away when all their eyes were on you.

Afterall, you were in a room with the most dangerous men in all of Japan.

Ran was the first to break the tension, standing on his feet taking a few short steps to reach you, due to his height he didn't need to make many. You looked up at him as he bowed his head slightly down for you, bringing your hand to his lips and giving it a kiss.

You quickly thanked him and took a seat at the end of the big wooden table, next to a shirtless man with a scar running down one of his eyes. He glanced at you and sent you a sympathetic smile, knowing you were probably very anxious sitting in a room with deadly men as if he wasn't one of them. You nodded down at him and smiled and turned to Mikey, the well known leader of Bonten who began to speak.

“As you all know, we have had trouble with a gang from the west, constantly attacking our men and stealing our drugs to sell them. Y/n, was sent on a mission to stop the drug shipment, Not only did she stop it, but she subdued them completely by killing their leader”. Mikey paused to breathe while the others turned their focus back to you, putting all their undivided attention on you, making you more nervous. Trying your hardest not to show the tremble of your hands you tucked them under the table, when Mikey began to speak again, they all focused on their leader, making you thankful for him.

All except one pair of eyes. You felt them bore holes into the side of your face. You turned to meet this pair of eyes and you were met with cold blue eyes staring into you. As if the pink headed owner of these eyes was sizing you up. You noted the scowl on the man's face, wondering why he was looking at you with such hatred.

You decided if you wanted to live through this meeting, you needed to prove you were tough, that you were worthy of being a Bonten executive, plus you had thought that you didn't deserve this treatment no matter who he was, so you returned the favor, looking him up and down at him with disgust on your face.

To say Sanzu was appalled at your behavior was an understatement. Never, since the day he became Bontens number two, had anyone ever degraded him with such disrespect. Taking in the shock written all over his features you were satisfied and tore your eyes away from his to put your focus back on Mikey who continued to speak about what you've accomplished.

“From today onwards, Y/n will be the fourth executive.” As soon as Mikey said those words the men shot up from their seats arguing against each other for or against your placement. You heard the purple haired man that had kissed your hand whine childishly about how you were in a higher position than he was. The man next to him, with the longer purple hair and the same infamous Bonten tattoo on his neck, rolled his eyes at the man’s immature antics. The sharp eyed, white haired man with the Bonten logo dyed in the roots of his hair, sat across from them and argued back about how ‘you'd be a good asset to the team’ and how it ‘doesn't matter if she’s in a higher position’.

The scar-eyed man seated next to you sighed and pinched the sides of his forehead in irritation “If you actually submitted all your paperwork on time and did your job right, maybe you’d be in a higher position” sighed the man. The short purple haired man gasped and put a hand to his chest very dramatically. The sight of this made you laugh which made an already resentful Sanzu more galled.

“The fuck are you laughing at?” Sanzu’s rudely asked question made the room fall silent as the men analyzed you, awaiting your reaction.

You turned your eyes to the man again and scoffed at his remark, “Who the fuck do you think youre talking to?” you spat back. Nervousness slowly being replaced with irritation, you talked once again, “You’ve had a stick up your ass since I came in the room.” you paused, leaning into the table, propping one of your arms on it, angry eyes fixated on him.

Laughs, whistles, ‘oooh feisty’ and ‘i like her’ were heard around the room as you held tensioned eye contact with the ill mannered man. “You're in a room filled with a bunch of criminals, sweetheart, you sure youre not just one of our whor-” Just as he was about to continue, Mikey leered his eyes to his second in command.

“Sanzu, stop”. Like an owner telling their trained dog to stop barking, the man whose name you now know is Sanzu, stopped talking to you. Luckily for him, if he finished that sentence, you would've been up in an instant, striking to kill. Mikey was the only one that had noticed one of your hands creeping to your purse which he assumed was to grab a weapon and so he quickly shut his man up before he made an enemy out of you.

The room fell silent once again.

“This decision is final, Y/n will be our fourth executive, those who disagree, speak now.” You looked around the room, noticing none of them would dare argue against their leader.

Mikey continued, “Y/n, this is Sanzu, my right hand man” Sanzu, did not return your eye contact this time. “Next to you is Kakucho, the third executive. '' The man next to you smiled again and waved, you reciprocated this, deciding to shake his big hand firmly. “Across from you are the Haitani brothers, Ran and Rindou.” The brothers stood from their seats to reach across the table.

Ran, the man that had so charmingly kissed your hand when you entered, kissed it again while Rindou grabbed your other hand to kiss that one. As they pulled their lips away from your hands you laughed at their attempt to woo you.

Mikey began again, “That's Kokonoi, he’s the main money maker for us” you turned yourself to face Kokonoi, taking his hand into yours and shaking it, thanking him for his earlier statement he made about you. He pulled his hand away, liking the feeling of your smaller hand in his. “Back there is Takeomi and Mochi.” Mikey finished introducing everyone to you as you looked into the back of the room to see two older, more mature looking men, smoking and waving to you.

“Sanzu, Show Y/n to her office.” Mikey demanded, attempting to get you both to get along.

Sanzu looked over to you with an artificial smile on his face, “Lets go, Y/n”.

Unsure why he was treating you with disrespect, you forced a venomous smile on your face as well, “Sure, Sanzu”. You both walked out, refusing to look at one another while he escorted you to your new office.

Which was right across from his.

You lay in your bed, sleepiness slowly creeping up on you while thinking back on this memory. You laughed, remembering how nervous you were to meet them, knowing now that they're all a bunch of dorks who are loyal to one another and would do anything to protect each other's backs, even if they weren't willing to admit it.

All except one, one who has been hellbent on making you miserable as you returned the favor. One, who's been working hard on trying to get you to quit, or go as far as try endlessly to get you fired. One who’s been openly insulting you to your face since your first day- Sanzu Haruchiyo.

You groaned in frustration just at the thought of the man. Youve been an executive for almost a year and he's still dead set on pushing you out. Why he hated you will continue to be a mystery, choosing not to ask him yourself, not wanting it to seem as if he got to you. Rindou had told you he and the others didn't know themselves, so you couldn't even ask one of them. You were sure one of these days you were going to murder him, tired of the mistreatment he gave you.

However you were used to returning the same disrespect he had given. You had titled him “your worst enemy”, making an uncaring-of-your-rant Kokonoi tell you how petty that was.

Of course, you and Sanzu have grown accustomed to throwing insults at one another, day and night, never actually referring to each other by your names but rather only endless spews of ‘bitch, ugly, stupid’ coming from you and ‘annoying, useless’- and the one that made you the most outraged; ‘princess’.

And of course, Sanzu caught on quickly at how much you despised this nickname, and to your dismay this label stuck. He had first used the nickname when he overheard you just a few days ago sitting on the kitchen counter, talking to Kakucho who was making his coffee in the shared kitchen between the Bonten Executives.

He listened to you speak about how ‘you wanted to go clothes shopping because it's been a while since you had gone’ and how ‘all your other clothes are blood stained’. To which he let out a loud and obnoxious laugh catching both your and Kakuchos attention. Kakucho, knowing an argument was going to break out between the both of you, sighed and quickly escaped the scene, abandoning his unfinished coffee.

“What's so funny?” You questioned him with venom in your tone.

He spun around to face you, swirling the teaspoon in his mug, grinning at you. “Oh, nothing” he sighed out contently, “s’ just that princess here is so pure”, he paused, putting emphasis on the word pure before continuing, “so pampered”, he paused again. “That she's scared of having a little blood on her clothes.” he mockingly pouted, nodding his head and scrunching his eyebrows, giving you an annoyingly sarcastic face.

Sanzu has always insulted you, and you always insulted him. But he’s never called you outright weak or even implied it up until this point. And you were infuriated. He looked at you once again smiling so cocky, realizing how much of a blow this gave to your ego. He enjoyed riling you up, seeing you so mad, knowing the only thought left in your head was ‘How dare he?!’

You hopped off the counter walking towards him with your fists clenched and stood right at his feet looking up at his irritating smile, Oh how badly you wanted to wipe that smirk off his face and you would've, if it weren't for Bonten rules against in-fighting, but the things you would do to him if it didnt risk your rank as a Bonten Executive. “Watch your mouth.” you threatened staring up at him only a few inches away from his face. He looked down at you not saying anything, but enjoying watching you get so riled up.

He bent down closer to your face and you could feel his breath on your cheek when he leans in closer right up to your ear and lets out an airy and short “hah”, that makes your skin tickle under him, a chill runs down your spine as you shiver, hoping he didn't notice and take it as a sign of weakness.

Unfortunately for you, he did notice.

“What's wrong?”- he whispers right at your ear, you swear you can hear the smirk on his face with the way he speaks, “princess”.

You both jump out of the position you're in when you hear a fake awkward cough coming from the other side of the room. “The meeting started five minutes ago.” sighed out an annoyed Ran, startling the both of you.

You turn to Sanzu who's on his way out and curse at him under your breath, grabbing your full mug, pushing past him quickly and making your way to the meeting room, promising yourself you'd get your revenge on him sometime.

He hadn't stopped calling you ‘princess’ since the nickname stuck only a few days ago. You groaned, laying in your bed unable to sleep.

‘Unlucky me’ you thought, annoyed at the fact that it was that nickname that stuck. You preferred him to call you stupid or anything else but princess. You hated the implication of it.

You also hated the fact that, Sanzu of all people, was the last thought on your mind before you crashed for the night.

yknow, a lot of people say that they wish SJM had just invented a new character to be Rhys' love interest for the Acotar sequel or paired him off with Nesta or something, but I actually think she shouldve gone further and just made Feyre get with a different high lord every book. Just imagine:

ACOTAR 1: Feyre/Tamlin, Feyre recovers from her childhood trauma but then oopsie, UTM happens and now shes got a bunch of new trauma oh noooooo

ACOTAR 2: Feyre/Rhysand, Feyre recovers from her UTM and also learns about feminism and how to fight good, I would prefer if instead of ignoring the part Rhysand played in her trauma like in canon, they actually leaned into it and made it so that Feyre reconciling with Rhysand and even falling for him was somehow symbolic for her reconciling with her UTM trauma

ACOTAR 3: Feyre/Tarquin, Feyre learns how to politics and maybe she learns about the injustices that the common faeries have to deal with as well, maybe there couldve been some seeds planted for this in ACOTAR 2 with the illyrians but she was too busy wth her trauma to deal with it at that point, but now shes ready

ACOTAR 4: Feyre/Eris, Feyre helps Eris with his political machinations culminating with her helping him kill his dad and become high lord, and its kind of a foil to the previous book where Feyre was doing like normal politics with a good guy but now shes doing fucked up and evil politics with a morally gray guy. Also, i havent met Eris yet but I do know that hes racist in canon so maybe we could have a subplot where Feyre helps him with that idk. helps him get over his racism i mean, not helps him to be more racist

I dont know enough about the other guys yet to come up with potential plots for their books, but in my perfect world they would all definitely get one

The final book would be Feyre getting together with one of the super powerful non-court fae like one of those freaks who lives in the middle like the weaver or something, except it has to be one of the male freaks because its a SJM book and we cant have a queer MC. So I guess that limits our selection to Koschei maybe? I actually dont know anything about that guy other than he exists, is he hot? cuz if hes not hot then we can strike him out imo. Then theres that demon-god that sent Nesta a horny vision in ACOSF I think his name was Lanthys, and I know for a fact that hes conventionally attractive so thats our first candidate. I actually quite like the idea of Feyre getting with Suriel and the way that would work is that it would be this reoccurring character that appears atleast once in each book when Feyre needs some information and she goes to catch it, and at the start of this last book shes just broken up with her latest high lord and shes like "that suriel has helped me so many times, I should do something kind for it" so she does that and theres this very fairytale-esque moment where it turns out this is the first time someone showed it a genuine act of selfless kindness to the suriel, and that causes it to transform into a really hot guy. And then Feyre and the Suriel start their grand romance

Also, I just realized if we wanted to keep with the theme of Feyre falling in love with a powerful fae* from a specific court, the capital p Prison island is described as almost being like its own court, so maybe Feyre could get with the Bone Carver which would be great because he can transform into like, the hottest of hot guys if he wanted to

So yeah, thats my pitch for an alternate ACOTAR Series. Would it be good? No. Would it be fun? Yeah, I think so. Certainly more fun than the series we currently have where we mostly just hang out in the same boring city with the same annoying guys

A/n: Ahh Thank you <3 I hope you didn’t wait too long for this. It’s been a while since I’ve written for Sara but I’ve been craving it for a while now

• For Yae Miko, she assumed your stoic attitude was due to your shyness. You always stood stiff as a rock around her, even after her relentless teasing. For her it was like a game, oh whatever can she do to make you break.

• It took a lot to drive Miko crazy, what tore her to pieces was how you didn’t act the same when you two were alone. Almost like you switched personalities, the way you clung to her and almost offered your entire existence to her.

• She’ll try her best to bring that side of you out the public, she almost saw the side of you in private as the “true” version of you. She honestly liked it better and she wanted to show the world just how much you loved the Fox lady, even if it wasn’t very professional of her.

Miko felt like ripping her fur out. Out of every one of her “victims”, she’s never felt this sort of resistance. She managed to shed the thick coat of the doggy general Gorou, strip the hotpot terrorizer Thoma, and even go head to head with that Kamisato rascal. Not even the Raiden Shogun could hide from her in her little isolation game. So why did you drive her crazy?

You stood beside her almost completely nonverbal, your entire demeanor so intimidating almost minutes ago. Only for her to shut the doors and here you stood before her with your arms wrapped around her waist, your eyes filled with affection and love, your lips moist from your saliva. “What’s the matter Miko?” You murmured to her.

“You’ve got some nerve little mouse,” she looked at you clean in the eyes, a vein popping from her forehead, her nails growing as if she were reverting into her Fox-like form. “You’re so shrewd. Why keep this side of you so hidden from the public? If you acted more confidently such as this, you might be more resourceful than you present.” You knew her little tricks, she’s said every line to get you out of your comfort zone.

“Why show the world this side of me when you can have it all to yourself. Does that not satisfy you enough Miko?” You challenge. You had a smug look on your face, she returned yours with a smile so wide her eyes closed from her cheeks.

“Don’t play dumb with me,” she hissed. “You know exactly what I’m talking about. You’ve become much more efficient since I’ve met you, one thing you certainly didn’t pick up from me was your cleverness.” Miko was always a step ahead of everyone, so finding someone willing to talk back to her was rare. A type of rarity she didn’t appreciate much.

• Ei is somewhat calm and reserved as you are, she doesn’t really react unless she has to, especially in public. As the Shogun stated, “There are only two kinds of things- those that must be done and those that must not” the same logic applied to her stiffness.

• However what did surprise her excellency was how noisy and touchy you can be in private. She’ll be the first to admit how annoying your shift can be. She probably preferred when you were quieter, it mirrored her perfectly, just sitting in comfortable silence.

• She won’t lash out or reject you in private, no matter how obnoxious you might come off as. She’ll just keep you at arms reach, like a babysitter who was socially awkward with children. Keeping everything of potential harm away.

Ei sat and drank her tea in silence after the Tenryou Commission Committee left the Tenshukaku. Once the doors had closed she braced herself, preparing for your inevitable personality switch. Hoping that you might be worn out for once from the meeting. You sat in utter silence, not voicing your opinion even when given the floor. Your arms crossed as you sat with an RBF, not inviting anyone into your inner circle. A symbol of strength that anyone of the Tenryou Commission could respect.

That was until you were certain the room you occupied was only shared between you and your lover. You couldn’t contain your excitement, jumping up from your cushion as you slammed your hands against the table. “Ei!” You howled, rushing to bear hug her. “You were so cool! You sure showed those grumpy old men. I spit at their very character.” You rambled, making enough conversation for the both of you.

Once you got into hugging distance, you opened your arms nice and wide, but almost immediately you were stopped in your tracks. Ei’s arm reached out to stop your momentum, gripping your shoulder as you melted by just a mere touch. “Sit, partake in some tea with me,” she invited you. “It’s green tea, brewed by the Tenshukaku’s servants.”

You sat like a dog beside her, trying to carefully grab the hot cup. You couldn’t help but shake at how cool you thought your girlfriend was, the archon or eternity, how undeniably cool. If only you could match her energy. “This tea is certainly delicious, but I think we should do something grander than just sit and drink tea. Don’t you agree?” You tried to budge her

“I disagree,” she said without a second thought. “I want to spend quality time with you. No words of affirmation, no need for gifts, services, or physical contact. Just sit and enjoy this moment of silence with me.” You tried your best to follow her commands, almost like a dog being told to stay with a treat resting on its muzzle. The temptations to tell her how much you appreciated her on the tip of your tongue.

• When in public, Sara was grateful for how reserved you were. It didn’t need much of an explanation that the general of the Tenryou military must be calm and organized. If you were anything else she would be afraid to take you out in public without jeopardizing her position.

• In private, your affection nevertheless surprised her. As a little tengu, Sara was neglected, even after she was adopted. As she grew older, she had formed no real connections, no friends, no family. So when you turned out to be so touchy and affectionate it took her a while to adapt.

• She would never admit it, but you were on the low what Sara needed the most. She tried to deny it even pushing you away verbally but never physically. In the end, she’d embrace you for who you were even if she was a bit shy and not very receptive.

You stood quietly behind General Kujou, her arms folded and her head held high. You mirrored her strong stance perfectly, the Shogunate Samurai admiring how much you and Sara complimented each other. Even without equivalent power, your presence only reinforced Sara’s intimidating reputation. She was just as untouchable as ever. She looked behind at you with a side-eye, giving you a silent signal with a head nudge to follow her into her tent.

As you trailed behind her you felt your excitement levels rising. Even though the intentions were to strategize and nothing but work, you would always get sidetracked by her sheer beauty. She opened the drapes of the entrance, allowing you two to funnel into the small tent. Preparing herself over the small table with a map of Narukami Island, at any moment you could decide to play your silly games with her.

With a long sigh and closed eyes, she tensed her stomach as you reached to grip her muscular belly with your arm. Your lips brushed against her neck as you sniffed the deep spruce smell from her shampoo. Her head rotates to allow you more access to her neck. “C-cease whatever this is at once,” her voice strained harshly as if she were lecturing one of her underlings.

It was always like this, a game between two lovers. Her body agreed with your every movement, while her words denied her actions. Your fingers brush through her roughly cut bob. The strength in her arms, the stiffness in her back, it all reminded you too much of how strong the woman you held was. Just your embrace was enough to make her all flustered. “Sara, sometimes you really need to calm down once in a while you know,” you teased.

“Shut your mouth,” she spat at you. “I don’t want to hear criticism from a maniac like you.” Normally such insults would hurt like knives, but you knew she didn’t know how to reply to you kindly without hurting her own pride. It wasn’t long till Sara regained a piece of her mind and peeled your hands from her waist. A harsh blush on her face as she avoided eye contact with you for the next hour out of spite.

Such a coincidence because I was going to send an ask about the play right before you made that post.

Even if it is not a production mistake... what makes people think that the writers won't change stuff for convenience? They already changed some things on the show small or whatever, Joyce and Bob weren't supposed to be close in the highschool, but now it seems like they will spend a large chunk of their screentime together looking at those 'trio' photos of Joyce, Hopper, and Bob shot together. Patty is a new character inserted into the story to give Henry a love interest (and apparently Bob mentions about his sister being alive in S2, so it is more of a 'error' to make her die in this play which seems very likely to happen). Hendersons were not Hawkins residents, now they are, apparently. Actually there's just some fuckery with the characters ages overall anyways. These are the things that come to my mind rn, there's just more stuff that can be found. Ppl acting like ST is some Bible-ridden filled with master details and shit have lost the plot. This is not some ASoIaF storyline written by GRRM or LOTR by Tolkien.

Production mistakes have happened and will happen, just like changing stuff for convenience. Building up whole contrived scenarios to say that everything has ''a meaning on the show'' and all those inconsistencies or changes exist due to some (insert timetravel/fuckery and variant contrived theories) is reaching way too hard. Why accepting the reality is so hard for some ppl in this fandom.

I called it production error cuz it happened in the same season where CLEARLY Alice is younger than Henry. Like there's just no two ways about it. The paper had to have messed it up. And the simplest explanation is production error. In terms of changing plot/characters for convenience and retconning shit? Ya I agree. It's hardly something that'd be unique to ST if it happens. It wouldn't even be unique to ST5. Regards Hendersons I think it can be justified that Claudia came back with Dustin? N was prolly never married? Idk. Least implausible of the confusing things tbvh. Cuz they hardly focus on her in the 4 seasons so that can be taken care of. I love how there were so many black people in Hawkins though. Truly drives home the fact that this show is fictional. The writers have changed UD mechanism and have gone with the flow with El's powers and abilities throughout the show, so like there's no real integrity to any ST Bible. Please. This is not that show. It's a superhero show. It's gonna do whatever needs to be done for the superhero shit.

The thing is I'm not opposed to ST being a great show, it just isn't. And much like with myself I'm okay with its average to subpar-ness. It just annoys me when personal opinions are foisted upon others with no tact or elegance to top it off. I feel like I'm honour bound to peel this veneer of excellence and MAYBE ruin the fun for everyone (as a result but not as a motive).

To make theories or guesses is not wrong or stupid and is actually fun if done by fun people. But also if we're presenting it as evidence and for serious contention then I am not in error to expect the person making those contentions to first get the vibe of the show right. Vibe in terms of how complex it has been so far, how meticulous in its facts and world building, how thorough in its characterisation and lore and how innovative in its execution. THEORETICALLY you can have A show that scores 10/10 on all those metrics and then you wouldn't be remiss in expecting a similar performance in a future instalment of that show. But when the prior seasons are averaging at average and the prediction is going 11/10 you gotta chill with the attitude cuz you're foundationally WRONG. Not probably but definitely. So everything you posit could be but not would be. There has been a lot in the way of mistaking the nature of this beast itself. So it follows that the rest of it would also be in all likelihood a mistake.

Now back to why people can't accept the reality of this fiction? Idk. Idc. I have my theories tho. 😛

i know ive said it before a few months ago but even though i dont go there i feel like people are pretty meanspirited towards genshin fans. obviously one of the biggest games around is gonna attract people who are new to geek ish shit like video games and anime. which means its likely their opinions are likely to be unseasoned. i think theres an entire world that exists for teenagers and normies with smartphones that we arent seeing, maybe its a generational gap idk

like the people who are super into webtoons and genshin and god knows what else, younger people and normies, lack the etiquette that was basically beaten into our brains through years of frequenting forums and microblogging social sites (livejournal, tumblr) (this is a lie because most people lack etiquette to begin with) so they act unbecoming, get into fights, make claims about skinny twinks being daddy or whatever. mostly cuz they know nothing else. is it annoying? yeah, but it feels meanspirited to write all of them off, and all of genshin off. i dont play it, i tried it close to launch and found myself completely disinterested so after not even completing the tutorial i ended up dropping it, but i have a lot of friends who are normal and find themselves enjoying it unironically and theyre surprised that they do due to the overly exaggerated reputation it has. im just speaking in general, of course they have the same issues a lot of people have with genshin, in fact i think most people who Actually Play Games would...

in general i dont get the catastrophization of genshin. i feel like so many people attribute things to it that dont make sense, like how suddenly all anime character design, especially fantasy, has gotten worse. my own feelings on the designs is pretty neutral. but at the same time its like, a fucking anime game, idk, i dont have feelings on it to begin with because it just looks like most other anime games but hoyoverse flare is hoyoverse flare.

to begin with i don't think hoyoverse is to blame for fantasy designs sucking. i think that is completely dishonest to suggest. as a fantasy fan, i think that its an issue of decay and lack of interest in the genre. i wrote about my feelings in isekai before (hint: mostly positive) but its a fact that most people have no interest in fantasy anymore. its seeing a slight genuine revival recently, but i feel like most of people's exposure is from isekai that take a very minimalist and "modern" sensibility to the designs so as not to be cringe and over the top. here is a google search i did in november 2022 with the search term "anime elf"

i mostly use this cap to show that 1) this is an issue ive been concerned about consistently and 2) if you search "anime" anything these days you get a lot of ai art and that is just noise to me in this context. by the way, in nov 2022 if you searched "90s anime elf", the results are entirely deedlit lol. she's very pretty, and every anime aesthetic page on social media is eager to reshare her and erroneously go "80s anime is the best 😍😍😍" you know, the ova series and tv anime that came out in 1990 and 1998 respectively. its just a complete and utter lack of disinterest in the fantasy genre all around that leads to fantasy anime being swallowed up into nothingness and not being present in any zeitgeist. even tales of, a series that seemed inseperable from the conventions of the genre, has forsaken it. the super tropey anime fantasy jrpg doesn't exist anymore. even fire emblem keeps hiring artists that have no business designing characters in a medieval setting (kozaki, kurahana, pikazo). granblue FANTASY has entirely shed its final fantasy tactics inspo aesthetic and is increasingly releasing more characters distant from those sensibilities.

anyway, my point is that for over a decade now fantasy as us nerdy 20 somethings grew up with has been considered owakon and blasé. nu anime fantasy is either informed by wanting to smooth out the fantasy element as much as possible (see: rezero's character design sense. i have no comment on the story itself) or inspiration from anime MMOs that usually had more simple armor and clothing designs for most players who didn't pay up. its a whole issue from top to bottom, and frankly genshin has nothing to do with it. there are modern series clearly made by people who love the fantasy we grew up with. even those that have a different world view, like tensura, lampshades the protagonist's view of fantasy to the world he actually ended up in.

if anything genshin at least feels like its calling to SOMETHING. im not sure what, to be honest i dont really get the design thoroughline of it, and a lot of the designs are overdesigned, but i think some designs do feel reminiscent of a more familiar fantasy aesthetic (venti comes to mind).

of course its true that a lot of young artists take inspiration from genshin, you know, its one of the most popular games in the world, its like mind boggling hearing how big its install base is, but also i keep hearing that it had some kind of ripple effect on all character design in every game and anime ever. can anyone actually show me like even 3 examples of this? like, be honest with me. is that not peak catastrophizing? game has barely been out for 3 years, its not really enough for its ripple effect to suddenly change the world.

what you are complaining about is an issue that has been an issue since the 2010s. maybe you are only noticing it now that you have a new mediore hatesink to invest in. anyway yes this mediocre and halfhearted defense of genshin's fans was an excuse for me to rant about fantasy as a genre being on its death throes and how people are misattributing the tragedy to rant about some mediocre anime gacha game. i hope the recent popularity of series like dungeon meshi and frieren (i mention them bc theyre currently airing right now) makes people remember that fantasy can be good and pure soul. i hope we get a real tales of game soon also.

i also think that it would be realy cool to expolore how, maybe, a relationship between bucky and sparks would function (i mean this fully platonicaly for both of them), cuz both are kinda fucked, and somewhat in a similar boat (with the whole...activation thing) the uncertainty if the people in your life can ever see you beyond the things you've been put through and all of that, y'know,

(but also it's your story, and it's realy fucking cool as is)

I tried to give both Steve and Reader traits that could either clash or bring the other balance, and also not make one All Good and the other All Bad. I love enemies to lovers but it can be really hard to find harmony between that hate and affection, and make the progression feel natural - that's what I've been trying to do and it's sooo good to hear that it's been working!

I love that you think that! My favorite Steve is CATWS Steve. He feels real but also holds all the traits we love about him. What's happening in this movie is also happening here: our man is under a lot of pressure from multiple sides (including Sparky's) and it's hard to let his true personality shine when he has so much on his shoulders. But with time we'll get some more of his softness, it's there

I added some of this glimpses already, but I hope to touch more on the post Civil War Accords soon, and show that he had to compromise a lot to get his team back to the comfort and resources of the Compound.

Their distrust of one another definitely made things more difficult than they could be. She doesn't see it as him trying to help and Steve doesn't understand - at first - how warped her world views have been at this point (and he is indeed lecturey). I'm so glad you touched this subject because it's for sure going to happen! I've started to set that up on part 5 and I want to get something going on part 6. Reader and Bucky have had very similar experiences, and that's the reason they've kept their distance so far - it's too close to home. If I may give an itty bitty spoiler, someone is gonna spill the beans about the record player, lol Also! Bucky has been Steve's wingman since the 1940s 👀

i hope they get to fuck nasty in the next one (i need her to bite him)

This is a very silly ask (and feel free to ignore it completely), but do you think any of your OCs would be friends with characters from other franchises? (Fun fact, this was inspired by a piece of fanart that made me believe that Thancred and Leon Kennedy of Resident Evil fame would absolutely be friends. Or at least drinking buddies.)

Hrm, I don't often think in terms of crossovers and mashups anymore--which is funny, as one of my earliest online RP experiences was a multiverse setting where OCs from any and all settings--franchise, gaming, original, etc--could co-exist. Normal mortals teaming up with demigods from novel series and mega-damage users from RIFTS and an array of fantasy and sci-fi and horror characters in between.

I sometimes think about how my OCs in various settings would interact together; how my WoW OCs would get along, or not, with the FF14 crew, or the FF14 OCs with my D&D characters. I tend to lean into certain archetypes (bards and paladins/clerics/priests are favorites), so there'd be some overlap and things in common, and also some frustrations at similarities that grate and clash.

So I don't think too much about how they'd interact with canon figures from other settings, but any OCs I'd have in that realm instead.

Well, the adventuring parties of Actual Play shows like Critical Role (and its animated series spinoffs) is pretty easy; Vox Machina, the Mighty Nein, and Bells Hells are all as chaotic and as helpful as adventurers tend to be, for good or bad. So there'd be eye rolling and irritation, but also understanding and diving in alongside, forming friendships with the weirdos cuz well, adventurers are Like That. They're RP characters too though so might be cheating, or at least easier to figure out for me.

Vax has that sort of noble rogue energy that'd make Aeryn fond of him, while Vex would initially drive her up a wall until they reached an understanding. Scanlan's annoy the heck out of her until they got to sit down and talk for real and she saw under the vulgar exterior. Percy'd be tolerated as Insufferable Noble Trying Too Hard. She'd be patient with Grog and enjoy his overlarge childish glee at everything. And who doesn't love Pike? Literal angel with a chaotic bent herself, she adds a bit of calm when not engaging in sibling shenanigans with Grog. I think Aeryn'd relate most to Keyleth, funnily, and they'd get along decently. Tary, too, would get a lot of sympathy concerning expectations, and also nerding around with his crafts, and may make dealing with Percy a tad easier.

Of the Nein, Caduceus is a spot of calm, aroace energy. Not as right as he thinks he is about many things, but he means well and tries, and that counts for a lot. Aeryn'd have tea with him any day. She'd also be drawn to Beau's bravado and brashness and they'd get into trouble together. Same with Fjord and Caleb, really; there's a level of familiarity in how they approach things with 'let's poke it and see what happens' but also the care they have for others in general. Same with Yasha. Jester's a bright light ball of energy and oh gods her and C'oretta in the same space would be exhausting. Nott/Veth is a bit more complicated; probably depends on when in the campaign, is it before or after Veth's reunited with her family, as she undergoes a shift emotionally once she has her original self back as well as her husband and son. Molly would aggravate and charm Aeryn by turns; Kingsley she'd be sympathetic to and understand too well that living in another's shadow aspect. Essek is fine; he's a wizard to talk shop with, learn from, mess around with spellwork. Luc is a brat also in the shadow of his accomplished mom and adventuring family, and needs mentoring and guidance and a lot of patience oh gosh.

A lot of the Hells would honestly be irritating, especially Imogen's propensity to just use telepathy intrusively; girl needs a lesson in why you don't want to poke around uninvited or casually to get your answers, and a WoL's head is wilder than most. FCG needs mentoring and guidance like whoa. Fearne's also an agent of energetic chaos; fun in doses. Laudna's not so scary, very sweet and fun and sad and likely needs help she doesn't know how to ask for. Ashton's grating in his arrogance and rebelliousness for rebellion's sake (though that may shift given recent things...). Chetney's surface attitude would be annoying, but soon enough he'd be a safe and calming point, given his perceptions. Orym's also just calming and reasonable; maybe a little too much sometimes, and needs to be reminded to cut loose now and then, it's good for you (and your friends).

Dark rolls with it all; she's very easy to get along with. Iyna wouldn't be able to stand most of them. C'oretta would get along well with most everyone but lord her and Jester and/or Fearne in the same place...Terrifying!

That's one off the top of my head, after a long holiday weekend thinking about it off and on, anyway!

in my sick twisted mind it is all stitched together with the mess of shinaya too. I WANNA WRITE A FIC SO BAD *banging table* i have this very specific relationship hell for shintaro thought out. *scratches head*

i talk a little bit abt it here and i think in other places but heh. honestly when i link to other posts its not rly like begging u to read them its more like a disclaimer that i might repeat myself which honestly i dont mind doing bc im crazy and im gonna talk abt the same things 1 billion times GLADLY. SO... >:3!!!! ITS MY TIME. have fun:

basically. so the usual right, takane feels like if she isnt watching shintaro all the time he could suddenly revert back to being a shut in and shintaro is comfortable having takane because she's familiar and the single constant in this life and all other lives in all other timelines. ene has always been there. takane = ene while a shock, to shintaro he can barely make a big deal out of it after retaining is activated bc he's seen it a million times. of course takane is ene. if anything the one needing closure over this reveal is takane.

i think post str shintaro is incredibly kind to her about it though. i think he feels immensely guilty for route xxx and is able to be openly thankful and they have a tender moment together. i think this single heart to heart changes everything for them. shintaro acts annoyed over takane's clinginess post str but becomes terrified when she's away, and sort of desperately looks for her the same way she does for him essentially reciprocating the sick need of each other, the difference is that he tries acting all cool abt it and making excuses while takane is sort of more direct abt like. HEY ARE U ALIVE??? JUST CHECKING IN LOLLL OK TALK TO U LATER ASSHOLE LOVE UUU!!! while shintaro's like ermmm...i was calling u cuz my comp is acting weird?? idk i tried some stuff but id rather u look at it to make sure. and takanes like LOL

like takane is totally delighted. shintaro isn't resenting her, he's gladly accepting her into his life and treating her like a friend and she KNOWS him so she knows that even if he says he wants her away the way he acts says otherwise. like she can read him like a book there is nothing he can hide from her, takane is able to see everything going on thru his mind. no one but her is more mindful abt everything that retaining eyes implies. maybe ayano, but we know which one shintaro is more comfortable about HEH. the fact takane is so direct about knowing about it and how hard it must be is also immensely comforting to shintaro (AGAIN ayano also does this but ayano is scary to shintaro) shintaro reciprocates takane's need for him again bc she is familiar and a comfortable constant but also because she is taking care of feeling all the heavy things for him. shintaro is desperate to stop feeling and takane is desperate to ignore her own feelings. but it doesn't REALLY work. shintaro still feels sad and broken and terrified. and takane still feels overwhelmed and in disbelief and unsure about everything. does this make sense.

takane's thing is like... okay erm. let's put takane under the microscope for a single moment. I'll try not to go TOO crazy.

ok. disclaimer. i could get very fun and nitty gritty abt the misogyny in takane's writing, how all her povs revolve solely around haruka & shintaro and essentially ends up being a female character who revolves everything around 2 guys, if not one the other and etc. but. i will not do that. i will just mention it there in passing and do what u do with it lol. that aside, basically takane is the kind of person who desperately focuses on worrying about someone else so she doesn't have to think of herself and her own problems.

takane is dealing with... a lot. because she had given up on life. well life gave up on her rather. she was dead you know. she decides to dedicate herself to shintaro and shintaro alone. her purpose was being company for him and keep him moving. and all of a sudden she finds herself alive and having to face the life she unwillingly left behind, and everything that comes with that like. having a body, being honest with haruka, accepting her illness is a part of her, etc. i think takane deals with a lot of existential crisis LMAOO like she CANNOT BELIEVE she is real. she has 1 line saying she felt like the whole time she was ene felt like a dream and it felt like a relief to hear shintaro talk to her as takane because it made her see it really happened. and i took this line and RAN WITH IT‼️‼️‼️

shintaro needs to be needed by takane and takane needs to be needed by shintaro. lol. they got 30 mental illnesses💗 but the thing is. one has retaining and the other doesn't 💥

their relationships to haruka & ayano are important in this and play a huge part in it too not only because its REALLY REALLY REALLY funny for takane to ditch haruka all the time to go find shintaro's wallet or something and for shintaro to tell ayano ok u can sleep over tonight i practiced cuddling with takane so im all good to go like that wont make ayano scream in her pillow for the next day. like theyre so sick in the head. but anyways ITS SO mixed in with shinaya's sick as hell relationship that i already wrote like 80 posts about and im not repeating myself im just gonna assume u know what i mean LIKE THIS IS WHY I NEED TO WRITE A FANFIC whatever.

as that happens with shinaya (like actual dumpster fire sirens going off glass breaking trashcan falling over etc) takane has haruka. haruka has his own set of problems feeling not good enough for her + survival guilt (for konoha) + terrified of being alone again. but takane's aware of the codependent issue basically bc haruka keeps telling her even if not as firmly and she would need so it takes longer than ideal. it's like present in her mind that it's a totally fucked up way too feel. also haruka & takane are totally in the same page abt holy shit we're ALIVE?? AND WE HAVE OUR BODIES??? WE HAVE TO FACE OUR LIVES AND MOVE FORWARD?? WE'RE IN OUR TWENTIES??? AUGGHHHH lol they go thru it together MAN I LOVE HARUTAKA sorry im normal. i know jin is allergic to giving takane a problem that isnt related to a guy but to me she also goes thru the same omg im in my twenties thing as haruka. bc like. yeah hiyori and ayano were stuck in the daze too but haruka was also watching everything outside. like takane he was a painful bystander. even if takane's spirit wasnt in the daze she was still playing a sorta similar role outside. like u can watch but u can barely do anything!! because youre DEAD!! haruka&takane understand each other's struggles more than anyone else, and suddenly they're alive and also the oldest in the group and they're like. ok lol. let's fucking go i guess. haruka and takane existentialism crisis crying for 3 hours then having to pull themselves together bc they have to do groceries. the horrors are indescribable but we have to pay rent. i love harutaka *shaking*

and haruka is super comprehensive about takane's thing with shintaro even if it's mixed in with all his feelings of omg takane prefers him omg takane is super best friends with the dan who all probably resent me for replacing konoha omg im gonna be alone augghhh like lol he's GOING THRU IT TOO but!!! takane also helps him!!!!!! theyre there for each other!!! they dont weaponize these things against each other, in fact it brings them closer. total opposite to shintaro and ayano. so takane's getting out of this mindset before shintaro does and she is really self aware and slowly making progress and ermmm becoming a little pissed off abt how he takes her for granted. bc he does.

again. takane is a constant. that means she is always here. in shintaro and takane's relationships it doesnt go both ways how they help each other. they dont help each other, takane helps shintaro and thats it. ene's always been secretive and ene is always been ene and now ene is always been takane and while shintaro knows this he's also never... had takane as takane before? so even if she's familiar and accepting her helicoptering over him, he's also totally preoccupied with all his other issues to even think about takane's side of things. shintaro despite his babygirl tendencies is at the end of the day a very self centered person, its hard for him. i dont mean it to say he sucks or anything. i think its genuinely rly hard for him!! he's going through a lot!! and he's bad with people and words and emotions!! he doesnt... stop being self centered though. not for now at least. and takane isnt exactly begging him to help her or anything because HARUKA is helping her with her issues. while shintaro is trusting everything on takane, and ayano is begging him to open up to her, takane is trusting haruka and continuously lets him help her and also helps him with his stuff. like shinaya and harutaka are dealing with similar situations in TOTALLY different ways

so for shintaro to find out/realise takane is also hurting he's like oh my god im such an ASS because OF COURSE SHE IS!!! but he's like i thought letting her be insane abt me was enough help??? bc AGAIN he hasn't really recognized that it actually goes both ways and he needs her as much as she needs him. it only becomes apparent when takane is needing him less and less bc she's been healing outside of their fucked up dynamic and he's like wait a damn moment???!!!!! so he's like TAKANE why didn't u say anything!!! and takane's like erm idk. it just kinda played out like that it's fine haruka is there for me im working on it and stuff and shintaro is SOOO insane abt it because realising takane's been relying on someone else takes him out of this familiarity and he's like oh my god TAKANE IS ALIVE HARUKA IS ALIVE AYANO IS ALIVE OH MY GOD THEYRE ALL MOVING ON WITHOUT ME OH MY GOD and its so uncomfortable for him. its so uncomfortable to see takane with haruka the same way it makes him uncomfortable to be with ayano because it makes him so painfully aware of like. THIS IS THE GOOD ENDING. yknow.

anyways... shinaya breakup happens lol!!! takane is again here to pick up the pieces. and shintaro is SO broken over this that takane soooorta reverts back bc YIKES HES NOT DOING GOOD. shintaro is clinging on her so bad it makes him look stupid. like i said in the insane shinaya reply. being back to being despaired over ayano and crying on takane is familiar! self sabotage at its finest, its pain that he knows. new things he hasnt seen are terrifying!!! and this way.... takane is away from haruka, rather paying attention to him instead and he is dragging her down with him!!! its awful but its comforting to think for him like YES!!! TAKANE IS ALSO BAD!!! TAKANE IS ALSO STUCK WITH ME!!!! BTW THIS IS ALL ON AN UNCONSCIOUS LEVEL FOR SHINTARO LMAO.

SO............. umm. ur question. yes they do sort it out. shintaro has to grow a lot though. i think its his fallout with takane that is his last straw and he sort of realises he has got to make a change and accept this reality as terrifying as it is. its definitely a quartet fallout too. ofc they makeup!! ofc shintaro apologizes, of course they start talking again (i don't think they'd go long without talking btw i think takane's just like we. need time apart) and ofc they get to a point where the quartet is all together again even if shintaro and ayano are broken up, they get to be on friendly terms after enough time apart, and shintaro and takane can also be normal friends. they are still bestest friends but definitely more proper and shintaro now acts like a person to takane instead of taking her for granted and is there for her like a proper friend would be and etc. ofc it gets to that!!! but lol. isnt it so fun to have a circus first :3

Ya I get what you mean about Business or Pleasure. I mean it's probably not that good and doesn't mean anything to me or anything. Plus I don't love reading sex scenes lol but the plot is like kinda a fantasy for me..like having an actor fall for you haha and I loved Teen Wolf when it was on. I'm gonna finish it by this week and I can let you know what I think.

Anyway ya I told myself I would read the Night Circus for spooky month even if I'm not sure if it is and it's been on my shelf for a long time so I will start it soon. I found your blog from Cosette and we are planning to read it together if I can keep up and she calls me pink heart anon but you can also call me book anon.

Thanks for letting me know your ranking of her books. I do plan to read them all eventually. Haha well I actually read If He Had Been With Me back in 2019 and just read it based on the title..I had no idea it was a popular book or anything..but I guess it kinda makes sense to be a Tiktok book. The writing can be cringy. But for me..it just matched what I was going thru at the time so it's very personal to me and could be I just read it at the right time in my life. Plus there is sort of a twin relationship in there too which meant a lot to me. But I still have issues with it too and totally get why someone wouldn't like it. There isn't really a plot..it's like everyday life and reading someone's memories basically as it goes thru their life and choices they made. It's kinda like Normal People in that way or maybe cuz I read them around the same time maybe mixed with Summer I turned Pretty, from what I know about it.. cuz they grew up together. That can be boring to people so you either like those stories or you don't. I had issues with the ending but there will be a sequel..even if I think it doesn't really need one but I'm curious to see how it will be.

For the Stepping Off Place, this one has more of a plot, and I related so much to every character. It's normal teen high school stuff so it made me nostalgic and kinda reminds me of Looking For Alaska I guess? I also can totally see it as a movie and have things that I added in the book and characters that only make sense to me, kinda like fan fiction I guess, which could be another reason I love it so much..but the book is probably just okay. For example, a prom scene is mentioned in the book technically taking place before the book starts, and I had fun imagining the scene in a movie. They deal with similar themes and I don't always know if people like to read stuff about mental health so it's up to you. But I would also say If He Had Been With Me felt more old fashioned to me when I read it and Stepping Off Place is more modern but maybe that's just me. I think Stepping Off Place is the better book and has more to it, compared to just the relationship between two characters in If He Had Been With Me..but this might influence which one you would like more. Also apparently the Stepping Off Place is supposed to have a sequel too..so that's another reason they're similar. Sorry if this is confusing or long! Haha I'm nervous for recommending these cuz they are so personal to me but hope you like it if you do check them out! Don't feel bad if you don't though..cuz like I said, I could relate to the situation and that's probably why it means so much to me and no pressure if it's not your kind of thing you like to read either.

Fuck you. It's more complicated than that and war is terrible,brings out terrible things in people. And that was the point. To show divide and conquer. Which is what happened and unfortunately is very very very prominent in feudal Japan's culture. If you bother to listen or read to historians.

But the game itself while based around historical events. Is a work of fiction. It isn't accurate. But it is fun and it tells a good story. Sure it has flaws,but its replayability and amount of things to do. Is incredible.

But back to y'all slandering shimura. First of all,he lost just as much as jin. (Y'all tend to grossly baby jin and taka and it makes me disgusted)

There are personal things I'd change but that's just cuz im sick of seeing certain tropes in games n media. But my own personal thoughts aside. Looking at it as a whole i have very very little problems with the game.

Cept the fans as per usual.

Also game devs should've just kept the dlc as that. Instead of reworking it into the story and changing a lot of the feelings with it. Just for their side story/prequel(?)to work

Yuna. No offense,has issues but nobody calls her out for it. Not in game. Nor fans. I love her character but she never really gets repercussions. Sure you could argue she lost her bro. But taka wasn't even really developed much before he well....💀.

Like I'm just sayin y'all. There are characters that tend to get plot armor. Jin i could let slide since he's the main character and player character. But even then.....its annoying.

But overall. If i had to rate it.

I give it 8 out 10. Not quite 9 because of its flaws and the fact nothing really is being done with it,the online multiplayer killed it,and the characters never got development past a certain point.

If they got actually developed,didn't rely on dlc sidestory that honestly i didn't really care for outside of more stuff to get. Thats all its really good for. The story of iki island really adds nothing that couldn't have been told already. It didn't need that. It was unnecessary. What it needed was actual character development and a sequel.

But yeah thats my lil ted talk.

Overall its a good game.

EOTWP dynamics are admittedly................... tense. in a way that's funny to us, but devastating in actual rp. fella who plays tellius, the guy with the horns, made a joke about this audio being the dynamic between yves, my character who is very adamant about tellius being a spoiled, annoying brat with nothing more but a taste for vengeance - and also just. really fucking obsessed with heroism in a career line that edges into what is essentially mercenary work, and tellius himself, who thinks yves is just. cruel and awful for no good, real reason. which yeah completely fair. i can't sit here and explain everything because it would be novel-long explanation but tldr, this particular dynamic between the two compels me. tellius has an intense survivor's instinct that dictates he keep everyone around him safe, no matter what. and yves has a severe martyrdom complex that tells him he has to die for a cause. what cause? doesn't matter. and it's a complex that nearly got him killed, and the same thing that made him realize these desires weren't his own, but something he was taught to do. and realizing this caused him to break temporarily. it was preetty bad. but yea telly saved him from death after yves's mech got blown up and he was forced to crawl at the bottom of the ocean with the weight of gravity pushing down on him and the existential threat of nanites eating him to the bone!!!!!! crazy shit. telly and yves do not get along and yet. telly saved him anyway. even after all of this, the second the team gets to land, while the team is debriefing with the baron about the unfortunate truth about the planet's doom's day, yves. WHO is like 4'11 might i add, tackles a 6'foot something tellius and beats the shit out of him for taking away his call to martyrdom. so that's. that's yves and telly for you. yves also has evil eyes for skink and jeurgen, but it's not as much as he hates telly. skink just pisses him off cuz shes RUTHLESS about her insults. so is yves though, so he just heckles her for being a clone and's been making fun of her for it, and jeurgen? complicated. jeurgen used to be very kind to him, and even with jeurgen's personality change, there is something akin to kindness. but. it's all in vain since as it's been right now? yves doesn't care about any of them, so the party dynamic is very tense whenever yves is there. put jeurgen, skink, and telly in the same room and they're LITRALLY just roommates hanging out... they're so chill... and then there's kuru who i dont know if he ever lived in the mech hangar, he just spawns into existence sometimes and its kind of scary. i dont know where he's from. now elias, his relationship to the group is quite separate, if not strictly professional. he's only really interacted with tellius and there IS a mutual respect there as far as i understand, but nothing much else. he keeps his distance from the team since he's doing his own thing, and only really knows yves personally. well. as emotionally personal as you can get with yves, which isn't much. THIS is a lot i rambled but... animatic is a little funny version of telly and yves's relationship

ok so im gonna stick to the bird kids cuz theyre a lot easier to explain GSJFD (maybe someday ill give my other ocs refs and backstory stuff....)

all four of em are very much based off how i play the game as each character, so i pretty much just grab my in-game behaviour and give it to em as a personality.

so, lorikeet! splat3 is still very new but i think ive somehow already solidified their personality lmao. theyre super reckless, pretty much always falling off stages and getting themself splatted by doing stupid things like running headfirst to a tacticooler or trying to challenge the eliter that wont leave them alone (i think mahi-mahi is the absolute worst for this). they like to go a little bit cazy and get as many kills as possible, which is silly when the only mode u play is turf war... (on that, there is not a single splatoon game that has gotten me to like ranked/league. i played it a few times and then swore off it, so now all four of the kids hate ranked lol)

lori fucking ADORES deep cut so theyve got the three earrings in their right ear bc they wanna be like shiver and frye. on deep cut, they love splatfests and all the music n fun stuff that comes with it. theyre weirdly not too competitive when it comes to defending their team, BUT they will go extra feral during splatfest turf wars and go complete beast mode. they still dont have a main weapon? favours brushes but thats pippins thing so they should probably pick something else GDKGS

oh they have the worst adhd brain. if they see something cool happening in the bg of a stage they will just straight up stop in their tracks and watch for a while, completely oblivious to whatever is happening in the match. and of course the moment they hear the tacticooler they will run for it even if theyre literally in the opposite end of the stage.... stupid. favourite stage is yet to be decided, gotta let the game marinate for a while longer

as the new agent 3 lori is pretty good at following orders, they just kinda... die in the dumbest possible ways. trying to jump through walls, walking straight off ledges, accidentally attracting attention to themself by throwing lil buddy right next to them. but theyre pretty good at fighting! also they like annoying the captain, because of course (this doesnt bode well for kiwi)

id like to build more on their character eventually but that requires me playing more splat3 and ive been rly unmotivated to do so >:/ ive barely played any salmon run and still havent touched table turf. augh. lori u will grow as a person i promise

now PIPPIN! (she/they) theyre my kid from octo expansion! shes very silly but surprisingly strong and skilled. never asked for help from OTH and went through every single test multiple times to get every weapon ticked (hell). also enjoys fighting inner agent 3 because ??? clearly a lot more competent than theyre letting on.

so once pip came to the surface they were very much like "id rather NOT do the whole fighting thing again" and jumped into turf wars with the intention of just having fun and messing with people. her gear set is 100% QSJ cuz she likes annoying the enemy team and then jumping away like a coward when theyre cornered (it jumpscares people bc they dont expect an octo to jump THAT fast).

she uses brush so that they can draw love hearts in enemy base :] they think its very cute and gets sad when ppl ink over it. also if an enemy tries to initiate a party they will always join bc make love not war etc. always goes for the highest inkage (highest score excluding win points was over 2000) favourite stage is inkblot art academy!

zero sense of fashion btw they either wear the QSJ gear or whatever they think will make her look hot (big fan of the octoling armour and marinas crop top). sometimes changes gender to Boy bc why the hell not, gender is arbitrary.

when grouped up with the others, they like teaming up with pigeon to cause chaos and havoc. shes very excited to see lori joining the team cuz theyre equally as insane as the other two! kiwi is the only one carrying a braincell here rip

PIGEON time!! (also she/they) technically my first oc because splatoon 2 was my first game! so she definitely has the most going for them. foil flingza main (my beloved), absolutely a frontliner and goes for the kill as much as possible. very good at sneak attacks! main gear is almost entirely special charge up (sorry. im the og missile spammer) except for ninja squid which they use to scare the shit outta ppl.

pigeon adores the birds u see hanging out on various stages, especially the pigeons (naturally). favourite stage is moray towers! i never said we had good taste. moray is excellent for roller users and allows for fast clean base inking >:]

like the others they love a good squid party but isnt always in the mood, HOWEVER she will never splat an innocent partier bc thats a dick move. if theyre not a threat, theres no need to splat.

outside of turf, pigeon is actually not a very violent person. very sweet to their friends and oh so very lesbian. she sees a pretty girl in the square and goes 😳 (btw this DOES work in battle, be a cute girl and they will be distracted). fucking absolutely obsessed with squid beatz like you have no idea, aims to get gold on every hard mode song. favourite songs to play are frantic aspic, shark bytes, and entropical. she and pippin love playing games like this together, i bet theyd be great dance duo.

in hero mode, pigeon is naturally a completionist and obtained every weapon. fucking loves harassing marie and annoying her as much as possible. adores callie so much <3 their best speedrun time is 40 sec on octo samurai (sadly cant reach the world record of 39)

unlike pippin they actually have a pretty good fashion sense, always coordinating their outfits and ink colour to match. a very stylish squid!

now kiwi is an interesting one. i first played splatoon 1 in beginning of 2018, so sadly i missed out on the splatfests. still got plenty of turf in and played hero mode repeatedly bc i have brainrot!

so kiwi (again. she/they) is really into amiibo challenges, especially the kraken challenge. being a kraken for that long makes em feel powerful, and its lotsa fun. they actually spend far more time on hero missions than anything else, they enjoy turf on the occasion but find it weirdly intimidating (favourite stage is flounder heights!). she feels most at home in the valley, with craig and the squid sisters. theyre far too sympathetic toward octolings (unlike pigeon who just goes fucking ham) and tries her best to just avoid fighting them entirely. because of this, shes pretty good at stealth missions, especially since she rarely makes much noise anyway. theyre definitely the most low-key out of the four agents.

SO!! why do i name them all after birds? because.... i like birds :D yes im a wannabe ornithologist and birds are my main special interest. i also mainly name them after aus/nz birds cuz im just Like That. we have cool birds in australia, and lorikeet was just far too fitting to pass up. (btw pippin is short for peregrine falcon)

despite being so skilled in hero mode missions they do actually get hurt a lot and almost always has some kind of bandaid or gauze on her body from various injuries. is it a lack of skill, or just recklessness? hmmm (its definitely just because she doesnt take enough care of their body lol).

if kiwi were to be captain in splatoon 3, theyd definitely be just constantly scruffing new 3 by the collar to stop them from doing something stupid. is very afraid of a new idiot joining the gang, as if pip n pidge werent bad enough. all 4 as a splatfest team would definitely be the most chaotic thing possible.

also theyre this way because when i draw squirds (tagged on my blog as "wings au") i think its fun to see how different they all look! kiwi would certainly be more fitting as a bird of prey but i think they look so silly with the stubby wings so im not changing my mind. this does mean shes real fast at running! pip and lori are the fastest flyers, pigeon is just kinda in between rip

final note, theyre all at LEAST 18 just so that its not weird. they all use she/they except lori, whos exclusively they/them. they all fucking hate ranked but love hero missions. also all of them have 1 braincell bouncing between them (mainly held by kiwi)
