Cassandra Goth is our poor, unlucky heroine. She has no idea how or why she's ended up trapped within the halls of Whispering Winds Academy, or why her famously missing mother is acting as headmistress, but she is determined to get out with her sanity intact.

Okay, so I know a solid 40% of the new Fantasy High was about Tracker "There's still deep attraction here" O'Shaughnessy, but HERE ME OUT
Gertie Bladeshield is the perfect woman for Kristen Applebees.
Cause, like, look, there was a lot of talk in episode 11 about impulsivity and chaos as an aspect of Kristen's character, mainly in how it's mirrored in Princess "Kristen if she had money" Naradriel, but it's also been a general focus this season, especially in how she often uses it to guard her emotions. Think back to "That's what you think", an incredible improv moment, but if you look at the big picture, Kristen's estranged parents make an incredibly inflammatory statement about her religion right after actively bullying her little brother, and instead of honoring any of the actual negative emotions she's being filled with in that moment, she pirouettes away. It's brought up in the adventuring party after this exact episode how Kristen is a cleric, a high-wisdom class that is naturally insightful, but uses these silly deflections to hold other people back from being insightful into her (hence Mac & Donna's lifetime insight disadvantage)
This isn't just limited to small moments, too. To take a broader look at the season so far, Kristen's chaotic, shrimp-jumping, wrangler-wearing, salsa-dipping, middle-school-campaigning, steel-workers-union-supporting bid for class president is often shown explicitly as a distraction from her existentially important job as the only cleric of Cassandra. Even when trying to earnestly apologize to Cassandra and prove to them that she's gonna prioritize her over class presidency, the only way she can articulate it is "You're the meat, mama." Her emotions are always guarded by some amount of chaos and impulsivity.
Now, how does that relate to Gertie "I've had a crush on you for a really long time" Bladeshield?
In both of the two scenes we've gotten of The Best D20 NPC (/j (but I do really like her)), Gertie has shown a pretty similar propensity for making bold, chaotic decisions in the heat of the moment. However, in my observation, these decisions do NOT come from a place of emotional suppression. Quite the opposite, actually.
Think back to her Grand Entrance into the narrative. Gertie, being one of the last people awake at Fabian's party, gifts her longtime-crush a jar of honey, something that connects directly to her passion/special-interest of beekeeping, in a homemade container designed as a pun on Kristen's last name. (in hindsight, the crush was very obvious) Then, in the middle of her infodumping to her about honey, Kristen's rich friend makes an incredibly dismissive remark about her good-natured gift. This obviously pisses her off, but unlike Kristen "That's what you think" Applebees, Gertie "I don't give a shit who's kid you are" Bladeshield lets herself feel those emotions very loudly, immediately starts a duel with possibly one of the most accomplished sword-fighters in the history of Aguefort, and declares him a life-long nemesis. She acts very brashly and impulsively, but in a way that doesn't hide her emotions, instead expressing them.
(I know there's a lot of talk about outbursts of anger being tied to Ankarna, but not only does the scene not really seem like foreshadowing to me, it's more interesting to see it through the lens of being Gertie's actual actions)
This trend continues with the 12th most noteworthy thing to have happened in episode 11 (which incredibly high acclaim), where after being explicitly asked to talk about bees by her crush, and being placed inches away from her face, kisses her on the lips. Now, excusing the albeit upsetting lack of consent, it once again shows Gertie acting very impulsively in a way that exposes her feelings to the people she likes. With these two instances of characterization being literally the only two scenes we get with her, it poses her as a very interesting parallel to Kristen, someone who shares in her willingness to make impulsive decisions, but differs wildly from her in the way she uses them to react to strong emotions.
However, does this really make Gertie the Autism to her ADHD?
(idk if Gertie really shows autistic traits, I just wanted to say that) Well, part of what Tracker a good companion for Kristen was that, as a fellow cleric, she naturally had very high wisdom, meaning she had enough insight to look past the layers of shrimp and salsa and engage with her on a deep level. However, clerics aren't the only class that cast spells with wisdom, so do rangers, including swarm-keeper rangers, which is a subclass that both has a good few abilities focused on spell-casting and was confirmed to be Gertie's subclass in an adventuring party. While her highest stat still could be dex (which, come to think of it, is a hilarious contrast to Kristen), there's no doubt that Gertie has a higher chance than most at being able to look past Kristen's barriers and see the complex hive of sweet, buzzing emotions underneath.
Hell, maybe that's where Gertie's crush comes from in the first place. Maybe, seeing this popular, proudly sapphic cleric be incredibly playful and chaotic on school grounds, she not only saw a bit of herself, but a little more. Perhaps, the type of mind that dedicates itself to allowing small, harmless critters to prosper even when no-one cares to join her club, is also the type of mind able to recognize when someone isn't allowing their truest emotions to prosper, making her wonder if they might have something to gain from sharing some of that chaos, using it not to hide, but to be free.
Or maybe it's just cause her last name has "bees" in it, idk.

LETS GO PEOPLE!! LETS GO !! sorry for taking so long to get around to this one !
demeter | 🔒 🍰 🌇
DEETER
ive seen a lot of complaints about demeters design being toned down over the years so i decided to bring some of the bolder design choices back for mine. mullet demeter is REAL now ! honestly i couldve done more w/ their makeup but shhh its ok....
i tried to push the gold in their design by making the eyeshadow really obvious and giving them gold lips. enjoy their lacy dress too... i tried to design something which they could dance comfortably in
demeters newer 3 words (nervous, sensual, secretive) mean everything to me. love them so much. i think theyd be 29 in human years
bombalurina | 🌹 🍓 🛼
so i totally based her hair on that concept art for drag queen bomba. the bob is too cute ! i had a blast doing her design for the most part. i struggled w that makeup and the color of her dress but its ok.
i also tried to give her something she could dance in—just like. imagine the length of the dress a little shorter. im not going back and fixing it
i based her color palette/patterns directly on her concept art because tbh, i dont love blond/ginger bomba ! so black/white/red hair bomba it is
i think she would be 27 in human years
hysperia | 🪴 ⌚ 🍡
this is my version of exotica, renamed hysperia, because i do not love her og name. its not fun. the name hysperia is taken from an ensemble kitten character from the og london production
i also based her design on a multitude of things, asides from her 2 costumes in 98—like some nbq/greycat designs since i feel like that design not becoming a common ensemble character was a waste. A WASTE I TELL YOU! ive also based her fur length on warsaw victoria because oh my godddd that design is so good. peak
her neck bow is a nod to the 2019 movie... the macavity girls w/ those bow collars. they were onto something there
she would have a much more prominent role than the few times she cameo'd in 98, still retaining the elegant/shy personality she shows in the film. shed be 29 in human years
cassandra | 🪐 ♠️ 🥯
i originally made her makeup a lot closer to her replica designs but decided to go for something a little different based on a makeup look i saw on pinterest LOL. so like. enjoy her slight earthy gothic vibes. i also didnt struggled too much on her outfit since i came into this knowing that i wanted her to be wearing something formfitting and bejeweled. a little circus-y too
more people have got to play up her disdainfulness. she'd be 26 in human years
alonzo | 🎹 🍢 🎳
once again, another design pretty similar to his standard replica one. i just tried to make the black patch on his face a little greyer and with some white detailing. because tbh every alonzo with white mascara makes me go crazy its so cute
i also tried to make his head fur/bangs a little distinctive—inspired by a random pic from a production i dont know the name of
enjoy his little cute fit too. pinklonzo. pastelonzo
that one gif of him pantomiming eating a playing card IS canon to me. he'd be 28 in human years
munkustrap | 📼 🥧🎙
verrrry similar to standard replica munks makeup-wise ! however, fur wise.... say hi to mulletstrap. to manestrap. 2 me he is tuggers brother so he gets that. i have no justification for the mullet other than idk, looks good, is funny, and the oslo 1985 production was right to give him one. also he and demeter can match now
i do like when theyre seen as something of a prince... so say hi to the gothenburg and opera populaire-esque epaulettes. theyre cayoot. they also get warsaw munks Big Pant Vibes
give this man a break. hed be 30 in human years
macavity | 🔥 🥂 🎯
he was actually one of the first cats i made design notes for when i started hyperfixating on this musical like.... two months ago. i really tried to mix elements from a bunch of different designs 4 him.... and sorry yall hes a deut brother too. im predictable
the manginess, mane, more ginger-y head fur, tugger-ness and the mouth markings from the 2016 revival... the big big hair, white fur and general makeup from his replica design... and the stylings of il sistina mac with the fitted coat. he also gets unique eyelashes like tugger—this time white instead of gold. he also gets that ominous magic cat eye shading
i think he would act a lot like 2019 mac... suave. but also not as dorky and desperate as he is in that movie LOL. he'd be 33 in human years
ONLY ONE MORE LEFT..... THE OLDIES........ MAYBE... I MIGHT MAKE DESIGNS FOR SOME OF THE SWINGS TOO LOL

I need people to understand the actual concept of "pit madness" because so many people write Jason having side-effects years later, and just...that's not how that works.
So-called pit madness does happen, but it can describe either the short-lived insanity and strength that comes immediately after a dip in the Pit, or the mental side-effects of repeated prolonged use.
The initial aggression and insanity does not last long, and doesn't have noticeable side-effects down the line.
Proof of this is others that have used the Pit.
Joker used the Lazarus Pit. Instead of temporary insanity, he was temporarily sane. This was a whole story. That clearly hasn't remained, and his seeming inability to be killed is likely unrelated.
Cassandra Cain has been in a Lazarus Pit. She is still strictly opposed to killing and has never been particularly wrathful.
Dinah Lance has been in a Lazarus Pit. I haven't seen anything about Black Canary being stronger or more violent.
Talia even tested Jason over this; she was worried that the Pit or the sort of comatose state he was in previously damaged him and made him an indiscriminate killer when he began killing his teachers. But each one of them he had reasons for. Pedophile, terrorist, human traffickers, people who were irredeemable and also trying to commit crimes with Jason basically right there. Jason explained this to her, and Talia was proud of him.
As for the side-effects, it's pretty obvious when you look at Ra's and sometimes Talia's behavior. They seemingly can flip on a dime. They aren't wholly unreasonable, but it seems like one day they're pure evil and the next they're...not quite anti-heroes, but not outright supervillains. Ra's and Talia have used the Pits repeatedly to restore themselves over centuries, which while repairing the body, seems to deteriorate the mind.
Remember Jason went in the Pit once. He's not going to have those weird outbursts that Ra's does.
His eyes don't glow green, he doesn't go berserker and lose time and find himself covered in blood, nothing. Fanon has made this for Jason, which is weird when they don't do the same for literally anyone else.
So honestly I'd prefer if fanon ditched this whole concept, or shared it with other characters like Cass. Cass and Jason could have an interesting dynamic over it.
But yeah the "Pit madness" you see in fanfic is bullshit.
Oh, and Jason wouldn't have a Y incision from his autopsy. He wouldn't need an autopsy for one, but also the Pit would have healed all scars on his body before he was in there, including that one. So sorry, if Jason did have that scarring at any point, it's long gone, and Red Hood never had it.

Birds of Prey might feature Katherine Karlo in the near future
So for those of you not in the know, the new (gorgeously drawn) Birds of Prey is following Black Canary saving her sister from a doomsday scenario, and featuring a breakout role for Maps Mizoguchi, a character who was prominent in Gotham Academy
But, from careful observation (straw grabbing and bias), there might be another from Gotham Academy making an appearance, Katherine
Katherine Karlo is one of Maps' closest friends and her main roommate for the run of Gotham Academy (pretty sure). While not altogether that important in the run, she made a notably important role with Maps in the mainline Batman comics.
Tumblr media
Now Maps getting a leading role, even if for one story, in a main Batman comic probably helped keep her on people's minds before her debut as superhero from the future, Meridian.
BUT Katherine being included could be indicative of the same treatment, even if a lesser role!
Furthermore, we'd like to point out one of the characters being included in the new BOP run is Cassandra Cain, who some readers may remember as being one of the very few genuine friends made of Katherine's dad Basil Karlo, AKA Clayface
Tumblr media
Intentionally or not, we now have two characters on the team who have had very close ties to a shapeshifting clay Karlo. Bordering on "one of very few friends" territory, too.
(Unsure if Harley should be counted with her show heavily featuring Clayface, but just mentioning that. Clayface is sort of making a surge in relevance lately with The Batman II slated to feature him)
We're getting into stretching territory, but there's a few more things we want to mention that... *could* be something, but might not.
First, this mission involves going to Themyscira, or the islands of the Amazons that Wonder Woman originates from. Who... is made of clay
Tumblr media
It's unknown if Wonder Woman will appear, but they do actively talk about her in the second chapter, which may be foreshadowing. But she is a canon clay woman! (We also heard Nubia may be too?)
A lot of clay character hovering around the skirts of this story...
Second is... this specific wording from Big Barda when Maps goes back to the future(?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The one from the future was made of dirt?" ...Dirt? Why dirt? She looks more like snow, or potentially electricity or static. And Big Barda is smart, she's royal and uses boom tubes to travel great distances across space. Dirt's, well, brown, Barda knows that.
"Made of dirt" is a small line but it doesn't really make sense to us based both on the visual AND the character's knowledge. Unless it's supposed to mean "We need to allude to clay/mud but can't SAY say clay or mud because that's too obvious." Made of dirt too, there's just a lot to possibly unpack there.
But the weird thing is the only thing we can really pull from that is... could Katherine is pretending to be Maps *right now*?
Unlikely, but it might explain why peppy, hyperexcitable Maps's adult self was... oddly quiet after introducing herself. Not to mention she'd leave right before the part of the mission that involves swimming...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She at least seems to be working with someone, judging by the way her little device goes off (or hit her time travel time limit, idk...!)
(Also we're a bit curious why her superhero name is Meridian specifically. It's a geographical map term to describe lines going upwards from the north to south pole, and there's a prime Meridian, which is cute for Maps' dnd obsession but is there something more?)
We understand if Katherine doesn't make an appearance, but we hope we maybe convinced you how there could be a chance for the character to appear sometime in the story!!
Thank you for reading through this and listening to our rambles about a fellow clay girl...! (-Annie🤎)

Uhm...
Hi everyone?
Back from my little break I guess.
1 year is quite little
yea sure April 18 ,2023( the last time I posted) was a long time ago but,
"It's April 21st!! Of 2024!!"
oh wait I'm talking to myself again..
----------------------------------------------
Guess whose back, Back again, Shady's back..tell a friend.
yea
I have an excuse! I was going to take a break in observance of my little sister turning 10 (she's 11 she's growing up way too fast), boom one year later.
Genuinely forgot why I left Tumblr, for that matter social media after that..blame it on mental health and stress.
People should know that stuff happens in a year, things change. So guess what, this blog is changing..whoopi. Excluding my pfp I love it so much for absolutely no reason
-----------------------------------------------
Blog things.
When I created this blog, I was in my "Jeantonio era", Jeantonio hyperfixation, if you were a CS fan in late 2022 most likely I was in your screen yapping about them and what not. Literally that was all my blog was good for, for that reason alone.
Yea, no more of that. I'm guessing the light switch turned off. I don't know what happened genuinely speaking they just aren't like..you can say I've gotten mature, when I look back at my posts I want to cry, bawl and curl up into a ball fetus position by the pure cringe of it. I don't know.
Not all only Jeantonio, it's just CS in general, sure I'm in a discord server (hi @tiredguyswag) about La Femme Rouge but I really just don't feel the same way about the show I used to. Blame it on personal life I guess.
now that I say that all I say on discord is how I stopped having a Jeantonio hyperfixation 🙃
Anyways,
Don't get me wrong I still love the,but I'll barely post about them. Yea, mind blower.
Next segment
--------------------------------------------------
Bio thing
It's funny how I haven't made this before but that's that I guess,
- I go by Cassandra,
(@r41nb0wzzz DO NOT CALL ME OUT, I KNOW WHAT MY NAME IS.)
-Minor (don't hit on me 😒)
-She/Her
Hobbies: Drawing, Animations, Running,..does talking count?
.. I'll just skip to the fandoms part.
- Avatar:The Last Airbender
- Carmen SanDiego (kinda obvious)
- Any kind of children's show
-Mandela Catalogue
- MLP
- Undertale, but just barely
- Steven Universe
- Genshin Impact
-Spiderverse
I've forgotten now
Now, this shall come as a Total shocker for you guys but,
- Total Drama Island
see what I did there
next segment
-------------------------------------------------
Everyone knows what a hyperfixation is,
A character(s) or show, or something you like so much you traumatize them or you draw them in class so much you have 3 full pages of that one character.
(Okay, funny thing is I've never drawn El Topo and Le Chèvre like, never in my life until like, January this year during Carmen week, crazy.)
Anyways, I'm pretty sure I was never one of those users that had a new hyperfixation like, by the day, "Jeantonio 4 life man"
Which is funny,
Okay I'll get on with it Rajbow (Raj and Bowie) is cool guys.
I love Rajbow so much man..
It's like ... it's like Terry McGurin watched Carmen SanDiego and then implemented Jeantonio onto Total Drama Island.
I will go on and on about them like..
Like look at them!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look.
Goofy Goobers times 2x man..
I didn't even mention Wayne man..Wayne!!!
I will put each of them in my pocket..each!
It's a brainrot.. man..
Will I be making remarks about my hating Bowie? No!
Le Chèvre got them because I hated him but now I don't because I forgot my reason,
or I just made him too fem queen in my head..
I love Bowie man..
And Raj..
And Wayne..
Platonic Raynebow 4 life man..
--------------------------------------------------
I forgot the majority of the stuff I came here to say, so I'll just say what I remember, and leave you guys to forget this,
-I'm going to delete a lot of my old posts most likely this weekend, they were very cringe man, understand where I'm coming from...
-Thetalkwithaveaclock isn't coming back, it's getting killed off. But then again nobody cared or knew what it was,
- Posting won't be something you'll be getting in every 56 seconds, it's more like every 56 days or something..I either just don't want to come back to Tumblr or its school man..
-----------------------------------------------
Yeah, that's pretty much it..I forgot a lot of what I was going to say to you guys, okay..uh..
Anyways,
Bye Bye..CS nation?.. I'm guessing the majority of this will be read by CS nation..

Glass Onion is a fun movie. It promises a fun, colorful, campy homage/parody of the murder mystery genre, and it delivers exactly that. Clearing that bar (delivering what is promised) is both a bare minimum and something that projects on the areas of my interest have failed to clear for the past few years.
So, yeah, I watched Glass Onion and I enjoyed it very much. After about a day of letting the experience sink in, I think I can understand both the passionate praise and the passionate loathing. For the most part.
Glass Onion is a sequel to Knives Out, and as first sequels go, it's pretty good. It's not the exact same story of the last one, but with different characters, even if there are similarities (i.e. the working class main heroine), and just that makes it better than at least half of every sequel I have ever watched. But it's also not as good as Knives Out. It's definitely NOT better. It's not terrible, it's not a huge drop in quality, but it isn't as good.
While Knives Out has a good pacing, where the rhythm of the story starts slow and mounts higher and higher towards the ending, Glass Onion has a very slow beginning, only really starting to pick up about the 45 minute mark (in a movie that is 2 hours and 20 minutes long, I really think they could have shaved 20 minutes off the beginning of the film and it would have made for a tighter experience). We get a few minutes of big tension and then it slows down again to fill us in on the backstory (here I feel Rian Johnson's infatuation with plot twists is a drawback; considering the twin sister plot is very cliched -which is fine in a story that hinges around the most obvious explanations being right- I feel the story would have benefited from the audience knowing from the get go that Helen was posing as Cassandra. It would have been more traditional, but it would have added much to the initial tension, proverbial bomb under the table and all). The climax and ending of the movie IS long, but I think that is fine because it is focusing on the catharsis we are experiencing vicariously through Helen (this is one of the reasons why I will forever defend Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds. Sometimes a movie can be just about catharsis, and if it delivers that, then it hasn't failed. I digress).
Characters. While both the characters of Knives Out and Glass Onion are rich entitled assholes, there's a variety and richness to the ones in the former that is absent in the latter. Harlan's family in KO shares their heavy dependence on his money, but in different ways. Harlan's daughter possesses more depth of feeling and strength of character than his son. The son is resentful because he's a little man. The daughter in law and the son in law are both leeches, but their ways of facing life and their relationship to the family are very different. The Gen Z grandchildren are radically opposite in their political views, but both engage in completely performative forms of activism. Ransom's attitude serves a completely different form of dishonesty and laziness than the rest.
In Glass Onion... the assholes are just stock characters. Very much like the game Clue that the movie pokes fun at, they are the scientist, the senator, the passé diva, the overworked secretary, the trashy entrepeneur and his trophy wife. They are all opportunistic, worthless assholes, but there's little to differentiate them and justify their inclusion other than filling the screen and adding star power. What does make the difference, character wise, between Peg and Whiskey? What does Lionel really want out of the money and power he seeks? What has Claire of distinctive other than wearing beige?
Speaking of which, costumes. They are fun, eye catching and suited to the characters... for the most part. We get that Claire is beige, we don't need to have her LITERALLY wear only beige all the time. You can throw some white and navy blue or black in the mix and you'll still get the message across without making it cartoonish. Benoit Blanc! Look, his costumes are a lot of fun, but I have a hard time believing the man who dressed in the most plain and boring colors possible in Knives Out just dresses like that in summer. I'm certainly not demanding he wears only neutrals, but Glass Onion!Blanc gives the vibes of someone that would dress in winter as the male version of Linda.
Glass Onion is not a perfect movie. But it remembers that light is an essential part of film (the sequence under the lighthouse lighting is beautiful) and in that way it looks classy. It remembers that plot holes and inconsistencies need to be papered over instead of highlighted: the plot of the movie hinges on Cassandra being both a good reader of human nature (knowing which people will connect well with other people) and a terrible reader of human nature (the email is one of the most stupid moves conceivable), a clever, foreseeing entrepreneur (she was the one to have the brilliant concept of Alpha that made Bron a billionaire) and a person who cannot look ahead to the future (she doesn't ensure she has a paper trail that supports her intellectual property in the company, even living in a post social-network world). The movie is aware of this, so it heavily moves the focus onto Helen and her revenge quest. It remembers that audiences would rather be pandered to than abused and belittled (YMMV as to how much the "burn the rich" message can ring as genuine in a 40 million dollar movie or as just panem et circenses). It remembers that satire needs to make the caricature of the satirized recognizable and realistic enough, and that a movie in a genre is indebted to the genre and cannot act like it has invented it (I'm staring at you, Don't Worry Darling, on both accounts). It understands that attention to detail can elevate mediocre material and that people do notice, even if they cannot articulate it (this goes from the infamous Starbucks coffee cup on the set of GoT to the absurd carelessness and sameness of late MCU productions).
And that is, sadly, nowadays, a somewhat tall order to fulfill. So I understand why people are going crazy over this movie. I also understand why that irritates the hell out of others.
In the end, Glass Onion is a fun movie. And that was enough for me.

Let’s talk about Creusa!
Hooray @aeneiddaily has finally reached my favouritest blorbo of the Aeneid, Aeneas’ wife Creusa. I just finished my bachelor’s thesis about her (specifically what Maurus Servius Honoratus says about her character, also comparing to R. G. Austin’s commentary) and she’s been a special little brainrot of mine for the last couple years even before last schoolyear’s deeper dive into madness.
For now I want to just talk about some basics when it comes to Creusa, and then some more text based analysis later (probably tomorrow and the day after, I suppose?). Please note that my information on the topic is still limited - I only got as far as a BA thesis can go (around 33 pages overall), and I mostly used articles written in English and whatever was accessible through my university’s library.
Let’s start with a little introduction, and once Aeneid Daily gets to the Juicy Bits (aka lines 2.768–795) I’ll get to some deeper discussions of her character and what commentators, both modern and ancient, have said about her.
(And, uh… spoilers for the ending of Book 2? If that is a concern?)
SO, Creusa! Who is Creusa? Well, she is Aeneas’ wife and the mother of their son Ascanius, and she dies at the end of the Book 2, these are the basic facts. But are they? There’s actually some interesting stuff relating to her tradition.
Aeneas’ wife appears in earlier tradition, in both art and literature. In the famous depiction of Aeneas carrying his father and the penates out of Troy, he’s occasionally accompanied by a woman (or sometimes two) depicted with him, assumedly his wife. Sometimes she tags along with Aeneas to Italy, and in some traditions, she is saved and swept away by Venus or Cybele. To my knowledge she is never captured by the Greeks (like poor Andromache and Cassandra). For some reason Vergil decided to create a version where she dies (and I will get to the possible motives of this in another post), and that became the popular tradition after Aeneid was published.
One fascinating thing about Creusa (that drives me ABSOLUTELY INSANE) is actually her name – and specifically that it might not be her name at all.
She has been called Εὐρυδίκη (Latin spelling often Eurydica), and the name later changes to Κρέουσα (lat. Creusa). It is not certain when or why this change happens exactly. Pausanias talks about this in Hellados periegesis and explain that Creusa (Κρέουσα) is “naturally Aeneas’ wife” (εἶναι γὰρ δὴ καὶ Αἰνείου τὴν Κρέουσαν γυναῖκα) but that i.e., the author Leskheos has also used the name Εὐρυδίκη (Paus. 10. 26.1-2). But suddenly in the 1st century BC, Livy, Vergil and Dionysius of Halicarnassus start using the name Creusa – I have not been able to find an explanation as to why this happened. Austin speculates that it might have been some new finding of the antiquarians of the time, or perhaps one of the authors came up with the name first and it caught on (Pausanias certainly sheds no more light on this).
But hey why is the name important at all? Well, you might have picked up on the familiar name Eurydica there and maybe even made the connection to Vergil’s Georgics – and you would be absolutely correct to do so! While Vergil is partially creating his own tradition with Creusa, he references his own passage on Orpheus and Eurydice in the 4th book of the Georgics (4.453-527), down to direct quotes pulled from this previous work. There are some pretty obvious similarities between Aeneas and Creusa and Orpheus and Eurydice, which I found to be an interesting add-on to the character of Creusa (I’ll also come back to this later – let’s talk about PARALLELS BABY). In a way Vergil’s Creusa carries with her the earlier tradition of Aeneas’ wife, and Vergil is able to connect all these versions of her into one while also reinventing her for the purposes of the epic. (I am very normal about this) (trust me)
Her being Ascanius’ mother is actually something that has been contended as well. Servius mentions that it has been called into question – there are some who think Ascanius is Lavinia’s son (he mentions Livy as one; see Serv. Aen. 1.7) rather than Creusa’s. In Vergil’s version Creusa is very explicitly Ascanius’ mother, and this actually has a deeper reasoning than just a matter of taste. I probably don’t have to explain to anyone the importance of connecting Aeneas and through him Iulus to emperor Augustus, but it is indeed connected to that. Not only is Iulus of divine origin (being the grandson of Venus) but he is also descendent from the royal family  of Troy – Creusa is Priam’s daughter, Hector’s sister, and Vergil brings this up a lot (as does Servius, he’s really into proving the point). The Trojan royal family line brings even more legitimacy to gens Julia‘s right to power. Here Vergil creates a political myth (like Tarrant (1997) puts it) to emphasize Augustus' legitimacy and Creusa being Ascanius’ mother is an integral part of that.
But hey so, Creusa’s death, what’s up with that?
Once we get to her disappearance, I’ll talk about this a bit more because there is actually a lot of interesting discourse there, both in modern research as well as Servius’ commentary (Commentarius in Vergilii Opera, from c. 4th and 5th century (I include both Servius and Servius Auctus and use them interchangeably)). It all starts from today’s entry, lines 2.675-678, but I’ll talk about it more once we have full context.
So here’s my little introduction to Creusa, I have a lot more to say (I had 33 pages to say, actually, and would’ve had more if I didn’t have to narrow my research topic down, boo).
Oh Creusa, Creusa, you mysterious creature, most loyal of wives and yet another tragic female character who must die for Aeneas’ fate to be fulfilled. She’s a wife, she’s a mother, she’s chosen by gods and even… immortal? More to come tomorrow!
(Edit: the rest of my posts on her can be found in my creusa-tag)

I'm completely fascinated by Cassandra's character. But I noticed that here on Tumblr some people romanticize her relationship with Agamemnon and I was very surprised, as I always thought it was obvious that it was a toxic relationship. You seem to understand more about this subject than I do, but did Cassandra have any affection for Agamemnon? Or even Agamemnon for her?
Hi anon! And thank you for the question, I had a lot of fun writing this.
That's a very complicated question, but I'll be my best (disclaimer that I'm not an expert, but I do read a lot).
We do have to take the relationship in its cultural context a little bit. A lot of people do seem to make Agamemnon a lot worse than he is in the texts. The fact that he took a concubine after a war would have been completely acceptable behaviour (Achilles does it, and we mostly forgive him), and doesn't really prove that he must have been violent to her or anything like that. I'm not saying that these attitudes are, or were ever, okay, but the fact that he is coming from a society in which slavery was fine means we can't just assume he is a monster on the basis of him having a slave. But I think that considering this context can also only take us so far. I find it difficult to believe that victims were less troubled by these occurrences, just because they were an accepted part of their society.
In terms of how Agamemnon views Cassandra, I do think there is something resembling affection. In Aeschylus's Agamemnon, he asks Clytemnestra to be kind to her, and in Euripides's Hecabe, Hecabe appeals to Agamemnon almost as her son-in-law, asking for his help, considering the "warm embraces" he enjoys with Cassandra. In Euripides's Trojan Women, Agamemnon takes her as his "bride", and Talthybius remarks that "Love for the god-inspired girl pierced Agamemnon's heart" (James Morwood translation), again suggesting affection, not just lust for her. But, then again, as he cannot possibly have known Cassandra for long enough to base this love on anything except her looks, can we really say it's any different (there is also the view that Apollo orchestrated the pairing, more on that later)? Ultimately, he still feels entitled to marry (have sex with) this pretty girl, by virtue of him being the general of the army that destroyed her home (cultural context is important, but its still hard to see past some things). Still, I do think that this shows that the popular interpretation of Agamemnon as a cruel old man is inaccurate. He definitely cares about Cassandra, and really only feels entitled to her in a completely socially acceptable way.
How Cassandra views Agamemnon is a bit trickier I think. In Euripides’s Trojan Women, I struggle to read anything other than her hating him. She admittedly does express a desire to marry him, but this is because she views it as a way to ensure his death (even if it comes alongside hers). So, she is motivated entirely by a desire for revenge, firmly believing that the match was orchestrated by Apollo, meaning that any acceptance she shows isn’t really any sign of love, just submitting to her fate with the knowledge that she is sealing his. In Aeschylus’s Agamemnon, I think there is a bit more apparent affection. She obviously hates Clytemnestra, and speaks badly of her murder of Agamemnon, which she callas an “accused deed” (Henry Howard translation), so this dislike doesn’t just seem to be of the woman who will kill her, but mourning for Agamemnon as well.
I think it’s worth noting as well that these characters are really more archetypes that can fulfil a different role in whatever story they are involved in, than any concrete characters with distinct personalities. So even amongst ancient sources, opinions vary depending on what the writer intended to use them to show. For example, Aeschylus's Agamemnon is a pretty standard tragic hero plot. Here it makes sense to portray the relationship positively, to highlight Agamemnon as a hero and Clytemnestra as a villain (in very simple terms, since I’d need a whole essay to get into it fully). On the other hand, In the Trojan Women, Euripides was trying to commentate on the horror and futility of war, particularly for the women of the losing side, so it makes much more sense for Cassandra to hate her new master and be vengeful towards him. I would say that even the modern retellings can be valid as well, they are just taking these archetypes, and applying them to their own narrative (it’s just that the extent from which they have derived from the myth varies considerably).
Basically, how I view them depends almost entirely on what version I am reading. When I make my own interpretation, I would say that I don't romanticise them, and that I generally view Agamemnon as somewhat loving Cassandra, but Cassandra despising him, although he treats he fairly well. At the end of the day, he is the general behind the army that ruined her life. I do also sometimes like portrayals where they have a better relationship, but this is more because I love Cassandra and want to see her be happy than anything else.
So overall, it's not very clear cut, and a lot of Agamemnon hate is a bit unjustified (he acts like a petulant child sometimes, but honestly every hero does). While I don't think it is possible to ignore the fact that Cassandra has no agency in the relationship, it may be worthy of note that even in modern law, she could still be capable of consenting (evidential presumptions would fall onto the defence to prove the presence of consent under s75 of the Sexual offences act 2003, so consent would actually still be hypothetically possible, just harder to prove in current English law, obviously not super relevant here, but I do think it is interesting that this isn't automatically legally rape- I am stretching the statute a bit here to say that Cassandra's slavery is akin to unlawful detention, which isn't strictly true, but since slavery is illegal in any case it's the closest comparison I could think of).
Their relationship is inherently unequal, and impossible to form a conclusive judgement on, but I don't think either extreme view is particularly helpful for analysis (although completely fine for making your own interpretations).

I can not stand how the Inquisitor can genuinely follow a different religion from the Chant of Light, but is not allowed in the narrative to speculate that perhaps they do have a holy calling.... it was just bestowed upon them from a different force than Andraste.
Im going to focus mostly on the Dalish playthrough since that's the one Im most familiar with. You are able to establish if your Inquisitor is religious, and if they follow the Elvhen pantheon or not. Given that is a fact, the narrative should further reflect such a character would be living their life with a different worldview than an Andrastian. Not just an "oh yeah, im an elf btw gang" comment here and there. They are percieving this world through a religious and political lens that is vastly different than Andrastians.
:readmore:
Why wouldn't a practitioner of the Elvhen gods not have hidden doubts about the mark being a gift from one of them? Or a holy calling to rally their people? Or simply a sign that yes. Your prayers were heard, despite all odds, the gods of your people never stopped listening. Or perhaps a punishment? For forgetting part of the old ways and insulting them somehow?
Consider the struggle of them trying to parce out which god it is from? The obvious hope that it is their "patron" god. Which Dalish wouldn't dream of the one who's vallaslin they bear choosing them as their champion? If not their patron, perhaps June? Blessing them with the ability to craft the heavens as he once blessed their people with the ability to craft weapons? The secret fear that no matter how much they hope that is true, the most logical choice is Fen'harel as he is the only one still believed to walk the land.
The thought they'd never voice that creeps in during the dark of night, that perhaps it is a gift from the Dreadwolf. But if it means he has decided to turn his gaze on the human world for a change and give their people a slight reprieve, they are willing to be a pawn.
Now this is all well and good for a characters internal battles over beliefs. But the opportunity for narrative conflict feels like a gaping hole in a wall. Imagine if the Inquisitor had the ability to outright contest Leliana and Cassandra's belief it's a gift from Andraste. Not in a "I dont think it's holy" way, but looks them dead in the eye and claims it's from an Elvhen god.
Could Cassandra deal with that level of heresy? Later in Inquisition, after befriending the Inquisitor, possibly. But I doubt she would have been able to at the start of the game.
Many of the companions would be pretty horrified or upset at the suggestion. Solas would most likely be extremely frustrated and get close to blowing his cover at such an outright display of Dalish religious beliefs. And he's known for being so sweet and charming when someone ticks him off about Dalish things.
Ultimately, this could allow for a much more interesting political narrative. The Inquisition is Andrastian. It is founded in the Divine's honor by her left and right Hands. That can not be denied. And if the advisors and the companions have to found the Inquisition with a "Herald of Andraste" whom has explicitly stated they think the Mark is holy in an altogether heretical way, the political maneuvering is suddenly much more evident. There is no ambiguous "who is to say" while they build the organization. They are having to build their holy order with one hand behind their back clutching to a secret that could unravel all they are working for.
I know that they toyed with the idea that Inquisition never outright stated the Inquisitor is holy. But I think raising the stakes in such a way would have made for even more interesting party dynamics, better roleplay-ability, and more outright politics. Which the latter two are things I think the game desperately needed to improve on. Yes, it's full of politics. But in a gawdy completely in your face manner that loses much of what makes politics interesting. Not to mention it ultimately did not seem to have large narrative influence.
Anyways, I am sure these are opinions that have been tossed on the internet quite a lot already, but I wanted to get my thoughts on the matter out there cause it's been rattling in my head for a few days.

The fact act that even after death Clytemnestra worked against her son, summoning the Furies (which means that Orestes Will be punished in life but also after dearh, eternally) summarizes well her character, she is a "with me or against me" type of person, as a mother too, and it seems she only cares for her dead girl while the remaining 3 children are neglected, mistreated and threatened. Like, yes, she's interesting, but she's not without fault as these "feminist writers" want us to think.
I LOVE YOU ANON!!!!! And this brings to mind, this paragraph from an amazing essay called “I, WHOM SHE DETESTED SO BITTERLY” Slavery and the violent division of women in Aeschylus’ Oresteia" by Denise Eileen McCoskey:
Finally, I wish to use the murder of Cassandra to comment more broadly on feminist theory—and the flawed perspective of any feminism that leaves Cassandra invisible. I apply this warning specifically to feminist appropriations of Clytemnestra. Sally MacEwen, for example, in the introduction to her volume Views of Clytemnestra, Ancient and Modern writes generally, “Our sympathies, in the end, usually end up with Clytemnestra” (1990, 14). Later, in her essay within the volume, MacEwen examines whether Clytemnestra is the “victim” or the “villain” more fully, but does not bring the murder of Cassandra into the equation (31).25 As feminists, however, I believe that we should be wary of any uncritical valorization of Clytemnestra’s transgressions and power, since she becomes in many ways a prototypical “Superwoman,” who attempts not to tear down the system of patriarchy, but to become its sole exception. As Audre Lorde so poignantly asserted, “(t)he master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house. They may allow us temporarily to beat him at his own game, but they will never enable us to bring genuine change” (1984, 112).
I mean, for me, the thing is that in Aeschylus' play, Clytemnestra uses her daughter's death as an excuse for her own power lust. That's pretty obvious in verse 1551 where once Agamemnon is dead, she jokes and makes fun saying Agamemnon's ghost will be welcomed by Iphigenia's ghost in Hades, who will kiss him and hug him as a loving daughter.
Whether this is sarcasm or not, it shows pretty well what is Iphigenia's death to Clytemnestra: a tool.
The average "Clytemnestra's stans" always erase Cassandra's murder and Electra's mistreatment (and death threats), and also, conveniently forget how Iphigenia's death is erased as soon as Agamemnon dies. Was it really about justice? A justice that includes using a daughter's death as a joke to rejoice over the husband's death? It's despicable.
So, Clytemnestra IS NOT A FEMINIST ICON. She doesn't care about any other woman, but herself alone. Not even her daughters (NONE of them).
And also, there are other essays and analyses, and how Clytemnestra especially abuses and mistreats Cassandra, humiliating her for her foreign and slave status. And she objectifies her and insults her by calling her a whore. So, is this feminism? Wasn't feminism supposed to be intersectional? Because in this play, Cassandra belongs to a minority group (foreign, slave), and guess who is the one who looks after her and asks for her to be treated kindly because slavery is something terrible to bear???? Yeah, Agamemnon, who is, a man. So, fun fun. But no, every single modern "feminist author" and all the "Clytemnestra stans" conveniently forget this part and make Agamemnon the villain and Clytemnestra the badass understood woman boss uwu! What it's interesting about Clytemnestra is that she is smart, she is is skilled and she uses technology and plans like a strategist, but that doesn't make her "a feminist icon".

Hey, hope you're doing good! For the writer ask game:
🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate
☁️ ⇢ what made you choose your username?
🪲 ⇢ add 50 words to your current wip and share the paragraph here (no pressure if you don't want to do this one though)
🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
Long, in depth ones? This feels like kind of a cop-out because to me it feels obvious, but the best comments to me are ones which point out things the reader liked, which have cogent questions to ask about what was written, comments which recognise things I put in on purpose and which point out things I didn't think of in those terms but which make sense! It's very rewarding to just know that your work and effort is appreciated and being engaged with, and that people are meeting that effort with effort of their own.
🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate
So I don't really hate many characters? I hate characters I feel are useless or which undermine the plot by their existence, but I think a lot of characters I dislike serve some kind of purpose and can even do it well - I don't like Scanlan, but he is a well-crafted character.
Consequently the easy pick for me to answer about would probably be MCU Tony Stark but uh, fuck no, because the things his existence serves are all kind of fascistic underpinnings of the superhero genre and I don't wanna do that, thank you.
So instead I'm gonna go with Scanlan because while I don't hate him I can at least say there's things that are good about him:
Namely, his avoidance of consequences and blame for his own part in his friends not knowing something was wrong is pretty accurate to how people do that when they don't want to negatively impact their own self-image. I viscerally hate how he blames them all for not reading his mind when he purposefully deceived them, but it is an accurate depiction of those kinds of people and that kind of behaviour, so I can respect Sam Riegel's skill there.
He can actually be kind of funny sometimes.
The number of times one of Scanlan's random spell choices saved the entire group is stupidly high. Riegel doesn't have the same knowledge of character skills or strategy as, say, Travis does, but his ability to just wing it and make Scanlan's random selection of items and spells work is genuinely impressive.
☁️ ⇢ what made you choose your username?
A blog is a place for one's thoughts, I am prone to getting wordy and writing things damn near essays, ergo Essay Of Thoughts.
🪲 ⇢ add 50 words to your current wip and share the paragraph here
See. Now I have to pick one of my WIPs to write something for and I don't want to spoil what I intend to work on next. Hmmm.
“We spoke to Scanlan,” Vex says quietly. In the soft light from the candle she’s gilded at the edges, the play of light and shadow striking enough to make Percy want to capture it in pencil. Then her words hit him and he stiffens. The wry twist of her mouth says plenty. “Are you both all right?” “Fine,” he says which is… not untrue, physically there’s nothing wrong with him and Cassandra is no different from usual. It’s just not the whole truth. If anyone should understand his particular defensiveness, he thinks it’d be Vex with all her careful tact.
Technically that's 100 words, but oh well.

Batgirls #13 Review
Tumblr media
Batgirls #13 closes out the quick two-issue parental arc as we also pass the one-year anniversary of the comic. Did it continue the highs of the prior arc or did we have another clunker two-parter? Well, here are my thoughts on the issue and arc as a whole.
I'll start with the negative. Because I know many are probably waiting for me to tear into the parts that I didn't enjoy and yeah... there's a big one in this issue.
Lady Shiva in this issue barely felt like Lady Shiva. She felt way too aggressive toward Stephanie and I get that the issue "has to have" a big fight. But..
Tumblr media
.. I think it would've been nice subversion if that didn't even occur this issue between Shiva and Steph. Once the cat was out of the bag. It just felt so... off seeing Shiva defend Cass this much.
I mean it's better than being evil and careless but... to this extreme?! I would've enjoyed it more just to see Stephanie just laid it all out when Shiva figured it out.
But... Shiva in all of this and the history with Cass-- just felt wrong. Shiva has never tried to mold Cass into being something she wasn't.
Tumblr media
She didn't have anything to "mold" at all. It feels really odd in a way because it feels like negating this bastard, David Cain, the one who truly was trying to "mold" Cass into being a killer.
Tumblr media
I think that's always lost in the Pre-Flashpoint origins of Shiva where she was just about manipulated and used by David Cain, the true monster of this whole origin.
This bit always seems lost in how truly a monster David Cain was in this all. How the unexpected side-effect is that he actually did care for Cassandra in the end and didn't treat her as coldly as he did Shiva.
Tumblr media
Which is why that bit of dialogue felt so off-putting. The thing Cass is so standoffish about Shiva is (prior to the revelation of being her mom) is Cass sees Shiva as a path she could've gone on if she stayed on the path of being a murderer.
That brings me to the OTHER problem I had with the Shiva/Cass stuff in this issue. The entire crux feels so much a retread of stuff we just had TWO YEARS AGO in Batman & the Outsiders.
Tumblr media
And here we are this issue with a completely opposite variant:
Tumblr media
That's the WHOLE thing we're waiting for. The next PROGRESSIVE STEP.  More an understanding a common ground the two can have between one another but mutually respect the other's lives.
Heck, we're not a year from Shiva trying out actively having a team and doing hero stuff (even if the story was pretty EEEEEH). That should be the new ground for Shiva. This life outside the League of Assassins. But still being Shiva. The line blurred between good/evil.
Tumblr media
I get that Shiva is a hard character to write, but when the stories of prior writers literally have set that up. All it takes for the next is to carry that on (or at worst spectacularly ruin it).
Thankfully, writers, Michael Conrad and Becky Cloonan didn't ruin it and we don't have an Emi/Shado situation on our hands. BUT...
This wasn't the dialogue to have between Steph/Shiva this issue. There could've been more. MUCH more to crack into the depths of the relationship between these two and how both struggle but TRY to be there for one another now.
It just comes off as 😬toward the end issue's end Shiva pulling a Darth Vader (but if we're to believe what Steph says) she doesn't really want to rule the League with Cass by her side.
Tumblr media
That's why I'm BEGGING both the editor and writers to do a better job with these two next time around. There are better stakes and areas to dig with the two. It just feels like a big retread (when you could've brought up B&O and that BoP run).
Because it's obvious we're getting more of this subplot again once the Hatter and Cluemaster stuff runs it's course. I pray! We don't get a Emi/Shado situation (or worse a Cheshire) because it's soooo cliché at this point with the murder moms and their daughters.
I'm BEGGING for a subversion of this trope so bad. Cass/Shiva could very well BE that subversion. It just takes the right writers to do this on the right path.
My please for the love of GAWD no more of this. It's lazy and by even saying these words makes long-time Cass fans scream internally.
Tumblr media
Because I was doing exactly that when reading that bit of narration.
Tumblr media
Because my mind flashes instantly back to this:
Tumblr media
I HATE that the Shiva/Cass/Steph stuff brought this issue down for me because there was A LOT of good too with this issue resulting in a "mid" then a dumpster fire like say #7-8.
Because the story AROUND the Shiva stuff is GOOD. The Cluemaster stuff is unnerving and creepy as heck. I'm really curious to see where the writers take Arthur here and how it relates to Steph.
Then there's the Babs' stuff in the issue. I think this two-parter was the best-written and best-used bit of Babs in the entire series. Cass/Steph in trouble leading to Babs being Batgirl makes the stuff have higher stakes.
I've been harping how Babs showing up as Batgirl in the series so far has been-- meh. This issue was the first time it felt her being Batgirl here was worth it. Now, let's see this same be used for her as Oracle to boot.
Likewise, the twists and turns Babs/Bruce have with surprise special guest star, Zatanna in unraveling the mystery of how Cass/Steph got body switched.
Tumblr media
Again, the reasons as to WHY Cass/Steph got body switched were fascinating. Really the only downside to all of this is how quickly it all ended.
I feel we didn't get a FULL day of Cass/Steph living out the other's life in the other's body. Exploring the differences and similarities. Seeing Steph maybe see the world thru Cass's eyes. Likewise, Cass seeing the world in Steph's.
There could've been one more issue here to have some of that fun. It's truly a pity we had to skip right to Shiva/Cluemaster stuff.
Likewise, I did enjoy the narration boxes in this issue. Barring that one box-- HICCUP.
Tumblr media
The boxes did their thing, but also told the reader to, "HEY READ THIS TOO!" Which it did in spades by giving us shoutouts to Birds of Prey and Batgirl Vol. 1. Now give Steph some of that love with nods to her in Robin and Batgirl Vol. 3, please.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If this book does want to claim new readers, it might as well leave these nuggets for them to go dig to find these issues. It also makes jobs easier for me, because I don't have to say, "READ _____ for this!"
But the true highlight this issue? The best thing I utterly adore and am HYPE for #14? Is the art by Jonathan Case. I mean... Jorge Corona and Neil Googe were good and 10s but Case?
Tumblr media
There's a Bill Sienkiewicz style here that I adore (maybe @empatheticcain was on that the stuff with style was more a nod to Seinkeiwicz's Batgirl First issue) because Cass throughout this looked so gothic by Case in costume and colors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can I also just say how astonishing Case did ALL the colors, pencils, and letters this issue? Like dear GAWD this makes the next issue. The story will basically him using Conrad and Cloonan's script (which I'll give it to them this was a finely tuned issue).
Like please put Case with more of Conrad and Cloonan please. Two issues is just too little. This art is exquisite and gives some of the critics by making Cass/Steph more their age than say much younger.
Baring the Shiva/Cass stuff this issue could've been amazing. It just needed a better look into the past and dig better angle than what we got here. Thankfully everything else was top-notch.
Again I'm begging the writers to do a better job with the history of the character. Please give us subversion in this case and do this mother/daughter relationship between then be consumed by the predictable tropes. There's something really good to mine here.
What can be mined can be truly something UNIQUE. As it stands I am hyped for the next issue because Case's art was a revelation. So to those who've been off the book. Buy Batgirls #14 the art alone by Jonathan Case will be worth it as it will be a silent issue.
Tumblr media
No narration boxes.
No weird dialogue.
Just Case using his style to showcase the story and I think we might have something truly special coming January 17th.

Happy 1 year anniversary to the Rise Movie! I can’t believe it’s only been one…
Tumblr media
But in honor of this historic day, I present… Things I would love to see in Rise season 3+:
Part 1 | Part 2
Some of these are kinda the obvious stuff but most are new ideas I really want to see
Neon Leon being leader obviously. What I really want to see is everyone's adjustment to that tho. The movie still gives me whiplash skipping over that since the series finale ends with his being named leader and then Leo still not even technically being the leader in the movie. (I know it was supposed to go down differently without that last line even happening and the whole co-leaders stuff but my brain still doesn’t adjust every time I watch the movie)
The second episode of that dentist guy who wanted Raph's snaggletooth. Apparently there was gonna be a Raph-Leo episode about it? It seems strange it wasn't going to be an episode with all of them trying to help, but honestly it would've been pretty cute to see Leo trying to protect and take care of Raph instead of Raph usually doing that for them. Maybe even some more of Leo doing more of the planning or them collaborating
Dr. Rude and whatever other personalities he Mikey came up with for himself. watch the video and tell me Dr Rude didn't derive from Dr. Delicate Touch 😂
Shelldon 3.0. give Donnie his baby boy back and make him officially part of the family
Piel and Hueso together again, we got two whole episodes but since they only made up at the end of the last one it'd be cool to see a third adventure of them doing something heroic as bros who get along again. And honestly after Leo helped get Hueso’s name cleared and helped him restore his relationship with his brother I want to see how their relationship would progress
Cassandra (& now Casey ofc) being part of the Hamato clan. But seriously all the post-movie fics got me thinking about how we were also robbed of her entire reformation arc and having her on their side would've been so kickass. Especially since she and Draxum kind of bonded and were a good team together. And the relationship she formed with Splinter is so wholesome
Draxum possibly eventually moving in (and making up for dropping Leo off a roof.) He would have such a different relationship with each of the boys I just want to see how he would go about trying to gradually earn their favor once he completely committed to being part of the whole family unit. Only to come to Leo last and have the most difficult time trying to figure out how to make him trust him after the Roof Incident
Big Mama’s ending. Considering we now have two former villains turned good, I'm wondering if they were still going that same route with Big Mama. It very much seemed that way but atp doing it for a third character seems so redundant, not to mention there's still not much reason to trust her by the end of the show since she double crossed them again. I'm still surprised by the fact that splinter is so hung up on her after all the trauma fr. At this point what might be more interesting, realistic and believable would be splinter's journey in trying to trust her again but eventually coming to realize she'll never change, because not everyone does
I did get a response on the Twitter Q&A about it which was really exciting, so seeing this scenario below play out and then leaving it up in the air for whether she eventually chooses good or evil would be awesome to watch
Tumblr media
Finding out the real prophecy of the destruction of yokai kind. Draxum said it must've actually been shredder but Shredder wasn't after the yokai so I wonder if it was something else. That could definitely be an opportunity for bishop if they take the 2003 route with him
Them using each other's weapons/powers. We got a very brief glimpse of this in 2012 but otherwise it’s not something you see in Ninja Turtles. With Rise tho it would be even more so exciting to see them handle weapons other than their own. Donnie being a pyromaniac with Mikey’s kusari fundos (RIP bc I don’t think his nun chuks have that ability anymore?), Mikey being all stick happy with Donnie’s staff and just smacking villains left and right, Raph figuring out how to make portals and how to utilize them physics of them in battle, Leo making a huge projection of himself or a dozen clones with raph’s sais. That would a party of chaos
Also Raph dabbing just on principle he is literally the only turtle who hasn't done it, even Splinter got one in, let the man succumb to the cringe
I’m sure we might've seen a lot of this eventually since it was apparently supposed to have 7 seasons, so here’s hoping it’s a possibility somewhere in the future 🤞🏽

you know who i’m hoping is a central character in ultrakill act 3?
cassandra!
you know, the prophetess nobody listened to from greek mythology! one of my favorite things about the game so far has been its structure— its been pretty solid so far, three pieces and a v2 fight, then another three pieces, then a crescendo and a climax. v1 is for sure going to bulldoze its way through all of hell, we know that much! but at the same time, damn, have some of those story elements been unexpected!
who would have guessed the righteous hand of god wouldve killed the entire council after falling out of their favor? who the hell are we going to fight now that v2′s dead? and where in the world has god gone?
reading up on the lore, things seem to have been pretty absolute all around until v1 threw a wrench in the works. but in hindsight, it seems so obvious— of course an entire dimension ruled on repression and blind faith could be so easily toppled! of course mankind managed to create a being so simply motivated it would stop at nothing to continue living! so why wouldn’t there be someone to predict all of this before hand? maybe there was, and she was destroyed for it be heaven?
simply i think it would be very dope. we’re coming up on envy and pride next so there could be some very potent themes about how heaven’s pride was its downfall, you know. plus if she was the sixth part penultimate boss like sisyphus or minos, we would probably get a lot of lore about her predictions for things which have already happened, and maybe even some hints about the game’s finale! and, you know, even if she were just a mini boss like the ferryman, i would think that a cool choice.
anyway! more likely the next boss will be another greek king, which i’ve no problem with of course! i haven’t seriously read up on greek mythology in a while and i’m certain whatever hakita picks will be a fantastic addition to the game’s themes, but this is just my personal hope for the final act!

⇦ PREVIOUS PART ∫ NEXT PART ⇨
Backstory: you are related to Hal Jordan, and after he becomes a Green Lantern, you show obvious interest. He sets you up with a ring, providing basic training with John Stewart and occasionally Guy Gardner. Your skills improve greatly, its clear you are responsible and talented enough to wield the ring on your own terms.
As for the other members of the team, they quite enjoy your company and find your powers and skills extremely valuable
Rocket and you might banter a bit more than usual, but you’ve got each others backs and she likes that you have similar powers, although this could lead to her feeling jealous or useless ://
Blue beetle, or Jaime, is pretty busy with his different endeavors that he most likely finds it hard to bond with anyone he hasn’t already, but know that your company is enjoyed by him
After the mantle of ‘Robin’ was passed down to Tim Drake, he grew to relish in your company. He will frequently listen to you ramble and he appreciates when that is reciprocated. He adores you /p
Beast boy has dealt with… a lot 😃 but if you’re willing to act as an older sibling to him, he would benefit from your wisdom and protection. If you aren’t close to him, he may reject any efforts to become closer during his depressive episode, but just have patience and he will appreciate that
Wonder girl is definitely something else, and since she is the younger version of a Justice League member like you, she quite enjoys having someone who knows what it’s like to be in someone’s shadow. Likely she will buddy up to you regardless if you like her or not
I don’t honestly have much to say about Lagoon boy. He’s also very caught up in other things when we see him as a teen, so you might only be able to bond with him once he’s mellowed out
Bumblebee and you may not be the closest, but she trusts you- that’s just the vibe she gets from you, very trusting and considerate
Batgirl would be drug along by Wonder girl to become your friend, so when she eventually evolves into Oracle, you and her have a great friendship and when handing out missions or leads, you’re one of her first people to call
Ah yes, Impulse. I feel as though he would be similar to Wally, being skeptical of your powers and their origins, but at this point he’s seen a LOT so after a bit he just accepts it. Of course, if you choose to befriend Bart, Jaime and Traci will be next on your list so be prepared
(In my notes, all I have is “Guardian” and ik who that is but I don’t know which one I was talking about so I’m gonna go with Malcolm 👍)
Malcolm and you are, let’s face it, probably not close at all, but if Bumblebee trusts you, then so does he
I can see Arsenal and you getting along actually quite well, if you put in the effort. He’s a tough one to get to know, but he’s a valuable friend and he could learn a lot from you
Thirteen, better know as Traci, may not try to get to know you more then the surface level, but she would be curious about your powers so maybe tell her about them sometime
Arrowette is a strong and morally guided individual, so definitely expect some sort of the same treatment that Artemis would give you
Spoiler, or Stephanie Brown, is not as bright or cheery as some other characters. She’s also hard to get to know, but she is so intelligent and powerful, so consider befriending her anyways
If you’re willing to learn to understand her, Cassandra Cain, or Orphan, will be one of your closest friends and she would do anything for the ones closest to her. Please be ready for the trauma that unfortunately follows her around
As for the Outsiders, they may have a lot on their hands but you are always on their mind when it comes to assistance or just someone to talk to
You probably didn’t have much time to get to know Geo-force, but occasionally he will think about you and the team because you all impacted him greatly
Halo admires how quickly you were able to control your powers, so she definitely relies on you as an older sibling
Terra also needs a strong adult figure in her life, and she may have some, but if you’re willing, she would love to be able to talk to you freely
You and Static probably aren’t close either, but when he asked about your powers and learned how impossibly strong you are, he definitely will fall back on you for some of the bigger things
El Dorado would definitely recruit you to help troubled youths, he thinks you are a perfect example of embracing your powers and using them to the fullest
Awww Forager would love you, he loves everyone and you are no different!!!
Stargirl finds your presence calming but she probably wouldn’t make any effort to get to know you, like I said the Outsiders have a LOT on their plate
Windfall would probably seek out your help if you’re willing to help her control her powers. You and El Dorado are almost like idols to her
Livewire is another one that would be reluctant to tell you how much you mean to her, but with time and patience she would be an amazing friend
Looker might not seek out a friendship, but like almost everyone else, would definitely relish in your company if you did want to be friends
