EVIL DOUBLED (FNAF AU)

This was sorta just for fun while I do school and what not! AU idea where Henry and William are BOTH evil and work together!

This screenshot redraw is what started it all!

Thats William’s remnant in there btw hes sorta michael-mode rn but theyre gonna put it back in him once theyre done posing all cool- He JUST survived being springlocked for the first time

Now lets get into ref sheets! (There will be a page break after and all lore/info about the au will be down there!)

OK SO!!! The au def is similar to canon a lot and so

The MAJOR plot changes would be:

-Will and Henry BOTH get springlocked

•this fucks over Cassidy and CC being in Fredbear already though, so to solve this issue Cassidy, CC, and Charlie, will all share the puppet.

-Henry now occupies Fredbear instead, and so we now get Springtrap and Beartrap.

-William does NOT have time for the wife murder subplot, so Mrs. Afton (Clara) gets to live fully, she replaces Henry now. Diving into the duo’s blueprints and creations so she can one day stop them. She works with Michael.

-Henry’s wife is ALIVE! Her name is Dorothy and she returns to Hurricane after receiving a call from Clara. She also becomes a Henry replacement.

-Because of Clara and Dorothy’s new role, the pizza sim speach is now WAY more female rage style. This is the wrath of scorn mothers. UCN will be 100000x worse.

-Oh and no disks- William tries to push them but Henry 100% shuts them down and thinks theyre dumb.

-So fnaf 4 is JUST cc’s dying nightmare and eventually michael DOES get gas drugged and sees the nightmares but thats NOT fnaf 4 thats just a bad trip!

-Also, with William not being able to run rampant with random robot murder (Henry keeps him in check) we DO see the base finale in pizza sim.

-When we get into help wanted, ar, security breach, and ruin that follows a SECOND plot line fully separate from the first, where we see a surge of copy-cat killers (this is where we get characters like Vanessa and Jeremy, and Gregory will also be a part of this, being the main villain in Ruin now bc the Mimic was never made)

-William and Henry are a good team here, mutual bond and gain.

-William is far more explosive and emotional, his drive coming from CC’s death sorta setting off a domino effect of underlying mental health issues. He just kinda loses it. This team gives him the delusion that he may one day see CC again.

-Henry is in it bc hes a capitalist. And hey, turns out unlike electricity, theres NO remnant bill. So making all his robots run on human souls is cheaper! He doesnt really care much about charlie after like 3 months of her being dead. He knows it was William. He doesn’t care.

GENETICS?!

yeah theres genetics-

not gonna draw out the punnet squares but the colors of the characters ARE genetic traits!

Henry’s grey is a rare recessive trait. So it was EXTREMELY unlikely to pass onto Charlie. Which it didnt.

Dorothy’s green is a common dominant trait, Charlie ended up green like her!

William and Clara are BOTH purples. William is a more blue-purple, Clara is a more red-purple (commonly mistaken for pink!)

Both purples are dominant traits, so it is a 50/50 with their offspring to produce a blue-purple or red-purple.

Michael and Elizabeth both ended up red-purple!

Michael is VERY red-purple, very much almost mistaken for pink like his mom.

Elizabeth is closer to true purple than michael, but still red-purple!

CC is the only afton child to end up blue-purple! If he hadnt died he wouldve ended up being Williams favorite child!

Fun fact, today is my birthday! ^^ Still can’t believe I’m 27. o.o

After finally getting all those ref sheets done, I was in the mood to try out another illustration. With the recent release of Sky, without giving away too much in the way of spoilers, I'll just say that I loved Spireclaw and Fringewhisker's relationship in River and I continued to love it in Sky, so I decided to use this urge to illustrate as a way to give these two some art. So here are our newest forbidden lovebirds, Spireclaw of ShadowClan and Fringewhisker, formerly of SkyClan, now a ShadowClan warrior alongside her mate.

I decided to draw them having a quiet moment to themselves in ShadowClan territory not long after Fringewhisker won her place in the Clan, before Berryheart's rage against the pair really started rearing its head and put the two on their guard. It's a moment of relief and joy, so much dizzying joy, now that they can finally just be together without having to constantly look over their shoulder, always having one ear pricked, always ready to move away from each other at the slightest hint of an approaching patrol. All of that hiding is behind them now. For better or worse, their secret is out in the open, and they can face whatever comes next together.

I had a lot of fun with this one, and I'm actually really proud of the result.  I'm especially proud of Spireclaw, and of the background, which while not perfect, does look better than previous attempts.  I used this image as a reference for the background. I'm super proud of Spireclaw's shading, and especially of how the shading turned out on him. Fringwhisker I'm still a bit unhappy with, something about her face just doesn't look quite right (I was trying to show her looking up at Spireclaw with an adoring smile), but it looked way worse before, and I did a lot of tweaking and playing around with it, and while it's still not quite right, it looks a lot better after all the work I put into trying to fix it. I used this image as a reference for Spire and Fringe.

Overall, while Fringe's face is still bugging me a little, I'm still really happy with how this whole thing turned out.  The title for the piece is a reference to a line from Dark River, where Heatherpaw said that there would be no borders between her and Lionpaw in StarClan. Things obviously didn't work out between those two in the end, but I feel a lot better for Spire and Fringe's chances... I hope, anyway.

now that i'm mentally working towards making a new ren ref sheet, i'm finding i'm. SO torn. because yeah, ref sheets can be redone if things change, w/e... but it also feels like with each one i'm "locking in" more features? and he's gone through so many changes in such a short amount of time that it's hard to decide on certain things!! like!!

baby boy. baby. squeezable. squeaky toy noises. super cute and primed for Corruption... and his hair is very easy to draw LMAO...

but he also just kinda looks like a silly, tired 20-something year old??? like a guy who's still catching up on sleep after many college all-nighters, but otherwise doing well?? and he looks a little more... well-kempt than he initially did. not exactly your standard anime guy but much closer to that kind of design.

meanwhile...

very first sketch, from the morning after my dream. very pretty but also A Bit Of A Mess. also very clearly 30-something years old. and i REALLY love how his messy ass hair looks.... it's just... such a pain to draw consistently KJNKSJFN...

and while it makes sense for him to look more put-together, with the way his character and story have evolved... man... messy ren is so pretty, wtf. and his hair looks so grabbable who said that.

idk i'm rambling, i'm just frustrated bc he changes a little each time i draw him so there are a bunch of different possible design choices to pick from and i like ALL OF THEM. AUGH.

(i'm also frustrated in parallel bc he was initially a scorched-earth, pure villain post-Fuckening, which was fun AND hot AND took from a lot of past dream-ocs i never did anything with... but story-wise it makes soooooo much more sense for him to directly target specific people and then fuck up Massively and have to deal with the aftermath. like i'm debating making ANOTHER ren offshoot where he really is a pure villain JUST so i can draw him being evil and fucked up and hot about it 🥴 idk, a lot of frustration from a lot of different angles!)

I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED EPINK'S REF SHEET!! NOW I CAN TALK A LITTLE MORE ABOUT HIM!!!

and I think the best way to start is telling about his backstory...

Ink left a bucket of purple paint in the place where he "lives", but when he went to see a business in some other AU, Fresh and Epic arrived there to make fun of them and put slime activator in the bucket with paint, but they didn't expect it that the activator WOULD CREATE LIFE FOR THE FUCKING INK. That is, when Ink returned, he found Fresh and Epic in disbelief, staring at the paint bucket with a slime figure, with a light purple skin color but with darker parts, staring back at them… And that's how he was created!

Some extra stuff about him:

He's not a fanchild, or a fusion of Epic and Ink together! He's a totally different thing, just a creation that got they're personalities and apparence because he thought it looked "cool".;

Epink is not a skeleton! As I said before, he's a slime shapeshifter monster, so he can be more other things, such as humans, animals, and other monsters!;

Sometimes he forgets about stuff, getting on his own mind in the middle of conversations, and gets distracted very easily...;

His best friend is Epic, who is like a "father that he never had", and Error X! (by @kona-tsuuu), he feels like X and him have some... "Connection", and that he needs to stay with him no matter what;

Ink is a big inspiration for him! Even if he feels weird around him, he appreciates him very much;

He doesn't have a soul, well, at least not a normal one... Yall could say that his body is his soul lol.

Frick I’m so bad at recognizing and remembering faces and appearances and I’m trying to put together who is who in your drawings and it’s painful for me. It’s not your art that’s making me confused, it’s my own brain :( Sometimes I have to wait to hear my brother’s voice to know who he is. Sometimes I have to see how my brother’s girlfriend acts when she puts on makeup to know if I recognize her. I kinda have to rely on same hair styles or accessories like jewelry in order to recognize things/people sometimes.

It’s also okay if this is too much to ask, but could the black sheep maybe have accessories that could help keep track of who is who? Maybe the accessories could be the only thing of color besides the text? Ex. Lil lion having a hair band or hair clip that is dark yellow. Lil Al Asim having some kind of body tattoo/ink that’s dark red around their neck area. Things that’ll fit into their character but also the colors being that of their brothers’ dorms? Again, it’s totally okay if this is too much! It’s just hard for me to keep track of things >.<

so i already had markings on their face since their first appearance in the comic just bc i liked the look of it? but i did add the marks closer to their nose in this new design.

thinking about adding a lil feather behind their ear/in their hair. mainly them post mwezi miji because i can see nuru giving them one of his feathers :)

also i made their hair short! i liked the idea of how leona and (probably) falena have longer hair that (name) cuts it after running away.

ashengrotto (lil octo):

so obv they have the same lil beauty mark as azul <33 i also wanna make it clear that they don't all have the same body shape? just used a pose that i use to get a full look at a character's design. so, yes yes, lil octo is on the heavier side.

also their accessory is the shell from the movie! got inspired by the anon that talked about it keeping their human form :)

asim (lil scarab):

I GAVE THEM HENNA-LIKE MARKINGS LIKE ASIM AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME >:))

so they have very intricate design on their neck/collarbone area but bc it wouldn't be visible a lot, i gave them lil dots under their eyes :) i did steal lil bits of kalim's design because i thought it would be fitting :D

schoenheit (lil gala/galaling):

so they have the unqiue eye shape where i gave them lashes :) ofc because they would have 11/10 lashes like vil :D ++ eye shadow but that's only in colored drawings.

i gave them the hair clip with a lil mirror design to hold back their bangs :DD and a ring because i like to think they would wanna wear lil rings :)

shroud (lil flame):

so gonna address their skin color first. i made their skin a bit more gray to mimic how the overblot characters look? i mean, they live on the same floor as the overblot monsters so i feel like it makes sense for their appearance to also be affected by them?

also!! their flame hair is dimmer than idia and ortho's! i thought it'd make sense for it to be like that to mimic a sort of dimmer light? like how they're slowly deteriorating or smth. ++they have an ahoge that i wanna draw in diff poses depending on their emotions >:)

gave them a mask that kinda mimic ink/blot? wanna stick with that motif for them :)

draconia (lil dragon):

so i wanted to keep a close resemblance to malleus? bc i feel like the idea a lot of people have come with where lil draconia doesn't entirely understand that their related despite their very obvious similar appearances.

the main factor i wanted to tell them apart from the others was lil scale like things on their face? idk i just liked the idea while browsing for refs. it was that or!! more branch-like horns?? idk we'll see :)

Up next for ref sheets, one of the Discord servers I'm in was discussing Finleap and his design, and it really put me in the mood to draw him, and I've been wanting to redo his design for a while now, so I decided to take this opportunity to do it. :D So here he is! He was a right little bastard in The Raging Storm, but credit where credit's due, it's been two and a half arcs since then and he hasn't acted up once and has only been shown as loving Twig and choosing to leave TC with her when the impostor exiled her, so I'm cautiously optimistic about him not being a bastard anymore.

For his physical description, Finleap is described as a small, sleek, thick-furred, broad-shouldered tom with a wide forehead and part of his tail missing. I made him stouter than I did last time, but still short, and with a nice long, thick pelt. For his pattern, Finleap is described as a light brown tom with ginger legs and ears and yellow eyes. I changed up his design completely, I haven't been happy with the torbie design I had before for a while, and I've been wanting to try out a colorpoint design for him. I had a lot of fun playing around with the fine line between finding shades of light brown and ginger (a dark reddish ginger) that looked good together and didn't contrast too much, while still making them distinctively light brown and ginger without just looking like two different shades of light brown or of ginger, if that makes sense.

Overall, I'm really happy with how he turned out. :D

January: Ok, so, turns out I didn't draw shit in January except a fun little doodle of Goldic (the character) fighting one of my friend's ocs. Not gonna throw it down here because it was for a friend. (I also never finished that one thing I was eluding to in the last progression post, big sadge; it would've been so funny if I finished that, or at least enough of it so I could put the other half at the start of this one)

February: Ah yes, playing Uno with Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman. The best way to spend Valentine's Day, tbh. Oh yeah, the GoldicSoulless emote also came into existence.

March: Oops, didn't draw anything. And if I did, I doubt any of it was Tumblr-worthy.

April: Oops, I did it again. I just didn't feel like drawing around that time. It was a nice art break, I guess.

November: I also didn't draw shit in November, but when I did, I made two whole characters: a catboy (Kitari) and a duelist, yu-gi-oh style, that I didn't share yet (Yune). Fun Fact: Yune is the first Yu-Gi-Oh oc I've ever made, despite loving the series for years, and all I have to show him off is a colored headshot and some messy sketches:

Outfit design isn't final yet, but hey. He exists. Yes, the scarf (and hair) will stay.

December: S Q U A R E - The Puyo Puyo Brainrot returned and so did me drawing Squares. I also drew a bunch of emotes for Kitari (of which only half are done) and another little something that I'll share later~

Overall: - Very productive year in terms of art improvement (mainly anatomy and color choice; character design quality has also improved a lot) - More brainrot fanart than in previous years - Less art overall, but more got shown off - 10/10 quality (compared to older art), hell yeah

Hiya ! Thank you so much for your ask ! ❤️

This is more of a fact when I originally created Matvey but he was created with the original modern warfare series in mind that slowly melded into the (modern) modern warfare version. Which slowly evolved to me melding the original versions and modern versions together. So technically living in the new (modern) modern warfare series but taking after the versions of Makarov and Yuri from the originals. More info under the cut !

Matvey is 19 during the events of MW3, and comes with a lot of baggage. I would describe him as "if a civilian was put into the role of something not meant for them." Though that also isn't true either. After his mentors advised his father that he would never become what he envisioned him to be (ie. a good soldier and son for the cause) he instead was focused in escape tactics, acrobatics, and anything to do with blades, staying silent and unseen. Realistically in a hand to hand combat situation he would always be overpowered(he weighs like a sack if potatoes, anyone on the team and any seasoned soldier could throw him over their arm if they tried.) So he relies on trump cards, explosives, chemical weapons(bomb making he learned while visiting with his fathers to warehouses where they were being made.) and a weapon personally commissioned by his father Makarov(though I'm keeping that a secret till I drop his new ref sheet.) And of course, his ever faithful Caucasian Shepherd "Lobo." He's known for his adaptability and agility. And due to his other factor of being a contortionist(how else could he fit into tiny vents and cramped places no man should go?) he will gain a good advantage to beat bad odds, expecially if his enemy underestimates him and categorises him as weak due to his muscle and stature.

And his contortionist abilities lead his teammates to find him napping and sleeping in the oddest of places and poses.

He fills a support role for the 141 after being found, working and given a false new identity to keep any hired mercs looking for money to take longer in finding him or use him in means of extortion and to hide his existence from any foreign country that may use him for political fodder. To himself, mercs looking to use him to get money, and those trusted to know who he is he is Matvey, to the rest of the world and the outer working of the 141 base he's a "Matthew Clarke, a 23 year old Specialist, British, transferred from another base." Boringly normal, easy to blend in with the rest. His existence as a whole is only known by the inner group of the 141 and the hired mercs sent after him to bring him back to his homeland. His freedom in the balance so to speak, since any country would likely use him for negotiations. So it's in his best interest to stay close even if he thinks anyone being protective of him or "babying" him/making him stay behind in his own words is not needed.

He ran away from home after many events occurred(timeline of MW) and stayed missing for 2 years before one year joining up with a freedom group, where he got all his recon experience from and handiness since no one else would be giving him a shoulder to lean on. He will watch your back, just as you do with his. That doesn't mean you'll earn his trust easily. Since he's been naturally wary and distrustful for years now.

If he does get to know and trust someone he likes to self-sabotage sometimes to make them push away from him so he won't have to care for someone else since everyone he's cared for has died and disappeared. He will get attached, always had the tendency to, half looking for approval but also to just feel happy even if his mind tries not to let him. He never really processed social cues that well and gives hugs at the most random of times despite his "rough" exterior. He hugs like an actual bear and will crush your damn ribs if you let him. Scars and masks don't really scare him. He himself likes to hide behind his scarves, too.

All his scars were gained from one similar event that I'll likely draw. Though there is one on his stomach where he was gutted and likely would've died if the 141 had not found him, and with the help of Lobo dragging him by his scarf.

If he were to be an animal I had thought it would have been a spider monkey, athletic, climbs easily, reckless and rebellious behaviour, stubborn but really he's just a lamb that was dealt a hand of cards he's being forced to play, yet can't seem to feel like he owes the world to end his father's plans. A self-sacrificial lamb, so to speak.

His favourite food is Pirozhiki, which reminds him of better times with his family, but he does have a little bit of a sweet tooth...

Future Plans! (March Update)

I figure it’s about time for another general update! HEALTH: I’ve been suffering from pretty bad insomnia the past month or two. Sleeping pills and melatonin weren’t helping. But, after starting up exercising again since falling off of it since 2019 and taking melatonin it’s helped me fall asleep much, much easier! However, I think I picked up a bug (not COVID) at the gym, and I have his bad persistent cough! So I haven’t been going to the gym and I just haven’t had my art mojo lately, so that throws in some delays. No worries, I’m seeking care for it! COMMISSIONS (UPDATE) I presently have no idea when I’ll open for commissions at this point! I really want to tackle personal projects first. UPLOADING GIFT ART, ART TRADES, & COMMISSIONED ART!! I still want to upload gift art, trades, and art I’ve commissioned! I’m planning on doing that no later than the end of March! REFERENCE SHEETS Regarding reference sheets, I have 1 more female character I want to do reference sheets for (Graphene Doodles, my Rule 63 gender-swapped version of my unicorn Graphite Doodles), as well as 7 male characters (Graphite Doodles my unicorn, Chris the mouse, Evan the rabbit, Kyle my red fox, Gabriel the squirrel, Trevor Dawson my wolf, and Bud Blaze, my MLP earth pony)! This means I have a total of 8 more reference sheets I want to do (for now).  For my reference sheets I’d start with a base. I’m thinking when I do the male characters, I’ll put together some things that I’ve learned to make the reference sheets for the guys go much faster! With my insomnia and sickness issues, I’m thinking I’ll get the reference sheets wrapped up around June~July. If things work out well I might be able to hit May, but we’ll see! I’m setting a pace that feels comfortable for me! TRADES & GIFT ART After my current round of reference sheets, I was thinking about opening for gift art and trades. But, I’m honestly itching to work on other personal projects! These are personal projects I’ve been thinking about for decades! I still want to do trades and gifts at some point! My gut feeling is that I really really want to get personal projects done! Or at least started! EXPRESSION PROJECT Something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time is a better version of the 25 Expression Challenge. I’ve done a few challenges a long time ago, and I know I’ve done one recently-ish with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. BUT! I haven’t done one when I’ve had this much self-esteem, self-compassion, and self-efficacy! Like, I feel like I could push myself well beyond what I’ve done before! I’m making a 100 Expression Challenge! You all are in for a treat! TREMMIE & EVAN SERIES After (or maybe before) the 100 Expression Challenge, I want to dive into a passion project I’ve been wanting to start for 15 YEARS. I’m going to have a Tremmie and Evan sex romp series/comic! It’s going to be everything from sweet, silly, to hot and heavy and gooey! I want to give myself a fun challenge, and I think y’all would love it as much as I do! SOFT SHADING I’m also planning on dinking around with soft shading in 2023! I think I could make my art really pop with some quality shading and lighting! POSSIBLY SELLING SOME OLD CHARACTERS AS ADOPTABLES I am thinking of selling some characters as adoptables! There are 12 characters of mine that I'm never going to draw again, and I’m not going to combine them. I was thinking of making a ref sheet for each and selling the character that way! PONIES I still love My Little Pony a whole danged lot! I’m absolutely expecting to draw more ponies from here until the end of time, honestly! I’ve been into ponies (1984) way longer than furry fandom (1996); I still love both fandoms a whole lot! I want to do art ranging from general audiences to smutty!  HUMANS Re-uploading my old art on my Tremaine account back in 2018 made me realize how much I missed drawing humans! There are a bunch of artists whose humans really inspire me, and I absolutely want to practice drawing them! Once I feel I’ve got some decent progress made I’ll share some art! LEARNING NEW STUFF And, of course, I’m hoping to keep learning new things all the time! Goodness knows I’ve already learned so much since I started back on this path in May! Self-esteem, self-compassion, and self-efficacy have helped me a great deal in learning to take constructive criticism better, as well as learning to self-criticize with the aim of improving my art! I feel like as long as I make “having fun” a priority, everything else is so much easier! DISCORD SERVER (MAYBE, EVENTUALLY, BUT NOT RIGHT NOW) Definitely not at this time, but it’s something I’ll consider for the future! I’d like to be more active art-wise and grow my community a bit before I go that route! STREAMING! I am also planning on streaming eventually. My real concern is being able to split my attention between drawing and a chat! I think I’ll start after I’m done with my initial round of character reference sheets! Mike, the oc in the ref is one of my oldest ocs and I first made him in 2015 and now I finally redesign him for the 3rd time, and can I just say I'm in love with him ( I mean design and how ...he looks? he's cool 👀 )

Tho going back to him and see how much i've grown together with him and memories from the past...idk it has something special about him that I can't put into words but knowing now that he is part of the GT story and I and the Lord are going in a new adventure with him once again. Is really something special to me and meaningful one way or another because of my childhood too and how God will use him in so many powerful ways in the story! 🌸🔥🌸

I'm just so happy that I listened to God and actually corrected the ref sheets because I can just thank God for all his goodness and How amazing He is because he cares even about the little things that we do! Running An Art Shop With Minimal Crying 101

Hey y’all, not sure what compelled me to write this Now but I wanted to put together a list of helpful ‘good business practice’ tips for artists who want to start selling commissions on FR and want to build up a good reputation and make bank. I’m not sure if I’d feel comfortable throwing this on the forums personally so here you go, y’all have to look at my stupidly long possibly helpful brutally honest post cuz I don’t know where else to put this.

I’ve been doing art on FR since I was a young teenager in 2015 and through that time I’ve definitely learned some lessons the hard way. I’ve taken on more than I could handle, I’ve let commissions rot for months because I got overwhelmed… you know what I mean. Here’s some of what I’ve learned over the years that’s helped me run a consistently successful art shop for well over a year now.

I don’t have a tumblr and I don’t know how to add a ‘read more’ to a submission, so happy scrolling <3 I apologize for causing some people a very minor inconvenience

-Do not take prepayment for either more than three commissions at a time, or more than the number of commissions you think you can finish within a month or two, whichever is smaller. This is especially true if you’re like me and you have ADHD. Trust me, the more commissions people have already paid for you have piled up in your to-do list, even if they’d only take you 20 minutes each, you will get more overwhelmed and discouraged and people will wonder why it’s taking you so long. Even if you aren’t getting concerned PMs, a lot of people are just too anxious or polite to ask for updates. (On the flipside, if you commissioned someone and haven’t gotten any word/updates in a while, you’re not in the wrong to ask how things are going and when you can expect an update.)

-Full payment upfront is something I definitely recommend for smaller pieces (headshots, sketches, etc) you can finish in one sitting. However- if you’re doing a ref sheet, a rendered fullbody, etc, and you’ll be spending multiple sessions on the piece and getting feedback for it multiple times- split it up, take half upfront and half either after the sketch is approved, or before you send them the final unwatermarked version. I’ve done dozens of commissions like this and never had a problem, personally. There’s a low chance of a customer backing out on you if you’ve already started and sent WIPs because, y’know, sunk cost, and on the other hand it is reassuring to customers (especially if your shop is new) that if you drop off the map, they paid $20 upfront and got at least a sketch, instead of paying $40 upfront for an unfinished piece.

-In the same vein: if you’re doing a large piece like a rendered fullbody, ref sheet, etc, more communication is always better than less! I always stay on the safe side here. Some people will tell you they just want you to go apeshit and do whatever you think will look cool, other people might have much more specific ideas of what they want and how closely your artwork needs to match the image of their character in their head. Send them the sketch and ask them if they want any changes. Send them the lineart and ask if it looks good. If you’re working on a time-consuming painting that will take you weeks to finish, please please please, communicate! Send updates! Your customers will feel a lot less anxious about how long you’re taking if you keep them posted (plus this is just a personal thing but I love seeing peoples’ artistic process, it sparks joy!!)

-If, once again, you’re like me and stuff like painted fullbodies take you so much longer than other commission types- the worst thing you can do is underprice. Let’s say a detailed, shaded dragon fullbody takes you, for instance, 8 hours, maybe longer because you get burned out and can’t finish it in just one sitting, but you don’t think people will buy an $80/8kg fullbody. Do not lower the price you think your art is worth. If fullbodies take you really long compared to other art, or you get unmotivated, just… don’t offer painted fullbodies, or scenes with multiple characters, or whatever. If there’s a form of art you’re capable of creating but it’s faster, more fun, and gets you more money to do smaller things, just do more smaller commissions instead of taking the big ones. This one was a lifesaver for me.

-Once again in the same vein: It is okay to say no. Just because you are physically/artistically capable of drawing a detailed scene of multiple dragons with complex apparel, doesn’t mean you won’t get burnt out or bored. For me, larger pieces take exponentially longer because I just get bored and don’t want to work on them anymore. If someone asks if you can draw something that will require so much of your personal time and effort to go into a single piece, just say no. Sometimes I’ll say yes to some big commissions because I think the character is cool and inspiring and I want to draw them; otherwise, I will admit, I’ve said no to big commissions because I personally found the character boring as hell (though I wouldn’t phrase it that way). And that’s ok! 

-If you are going to be really busy in the near future, stop taking commissions. You have finals? Don’t say “sorry if things take forever, I have finals”… just don’t take the commissions while you’re busy. If you have too much on your plate, commissions will just stress you out more, and nobody likes to draw motivated by stress. There’s nothing wrong with temporarily pausing your art shop. Put your mental health first. And if you aren’t able to get commissions done on a regular basis because of mental health, or because you don’t give enough of a shit about other peoples’ characters: don’t do commissions. I don’t mean this in a bad way; I’ve been in that spot before and it’ll just cause more stress and guilt than it’s worth. 

-NO PARAGRAPHS. That sounds hypocritical of me writing this lol but do not put long paragraphs in your art shop, ever. I promise nobody will read it. Put your rules, and any other information, in bullet points that are one or two lines. Keep your rules clear, simple, unambiguous and short, or everyone will ignore it and I won’t blame them. Put titles and subtitles wherever you can. If you have a block of text longer than probably five lines, it will be ignored by most people. I have decided not to buy art from people because I didn’t want to have to dig through blocks of text for information.

THE ERRANTEL

Due to popular demand, I finally made a ref sheet for the species my Swap Benrey’s belongs to- the Errantel. 

Their name, originally, had no human translation, since they are not from Earth. Benrey himself describes it as loosely translating to “Unkillable hobo”, though Tommy thought it was too long, and seemed... rude, almost. So, with the help of his friend Forzen, they came up with the term Errantel; a combination of the words for “immortal wanderer” in french. 

Biologically, Errentel are very interesting species, as they’ve earned their reputation for being “unkillable”. They’re essentially the equivalent of giant, interdimensional tardigrades. They can withstand nearly all conditions- the vacuum of space, temperatures hot enough to usually make things combust, and temperatures nearing true zero. This grants them safety when they manage to worm their way through dimensions and travel to different planets that might be otherwise inhabitable. 

Not only that, but they are also proficient at rudimentary “shapeshifting”- they can compress and expand the mass of their form, ranging from very very small to extremely large; rivaling skyscrapers. Their average size is normally a healthy in between- the size of a two-story house (the size that Benrey took during the final battle). 

They can also shift the amount of limbs, mouths, eyes, and other features they possess, with some restrictions mentioned above. This allows Benrey to take an arguably very humanlike form to better fit in with his coworkers.  Their diet is extremely varied. Their near unkillable state and rapid healing is because of their physiology. In short- their body is made of completely different things than ours, so they need a wide range of nutrients and minerals to stay healthy and unkillable. This is what causes the most competition amongst them- sometimes even eating other Errantels for the specific nutrients in their bodies. 

Socially, they’re sapient; generally human-level intelligence, sometimes slightly above (mostly due to their outstanding lifespans). How they are seen, however, varies wildly between dimensions, planets, species and societies. In some places, they’re considered normal people. They could, arguably, wander into a space McDonald’s and get a job, and be treated as a normal person. In other places, they’re considered wild beasts, to be avoided or even hunted for sport. 

Amongst their own species, they’re pretty extreme. Honestly, because of their extreme lifespans and nearly unkillable status, the only thing keeping their population in check is... well, their own species, and the fact that they’re so widespread. 

When an Errantel meets another (or honestly, any species they see as ‘equals’), they see them as competition. Rivals, in a sense. One of the few things that can truly threaten them. And so, their main goal is to remove that competition by any means necessary. This can go one of three ways:

Put enough distance between them that they don’t have to compete. This is pretty easily done, considering they can worm through dimensions and travel through the void of space to reach entirely new planets.

Kill each other. Errantels are, unfortunately, highly cannibalistic. The can and will eat other Errantels if they see them as threats, or even as weaker. Some of them will even eat their eggs and young in times of duress or if they simply don’t want to have any at the moment. 

Become partners. And I don’t put that lightly- Errantel ‘partnerships’ are almost complete codependency; putting their full trust, safety, heart and soul into each other. They’ll trust each other with their lives, share their food, young- and even other partners. It’s not unusual to have a group of 2-5 Errantels all in a polyamorous partnership. This eliminates the competition and threat of death through a much more friendly way.

So, a meeting between two Errantels usually starts as a long winded display at a distance, dancing around each other and judging whether or not they’re going to partner up, fight, or flee. There are no half-measures among them- you will almost never see two Errantel hanging out together for fun. Though, of course, in a social situation, most of them can behave long enough to share a space in a formal environment (think about having to go to a meeting with your ex. Sure, you don’t like it and there’s tension, but you put up with it for formalities). 

When communicating, Errantels use a communication system composed of a high-dense light, sound, and color they can expel from their mouth, which can help communicate emotions both visually and sensually (”Sweet voice”). My guide for Sweet Voice is the same one I use for the Errantels.  They’re very intelligent, however, and commonly learn other languages as well. 

When it comes to reproducing, Errantel can go two ways. They can reproduce both sexually and asexually! All Errantels have both bits, so any Errantell can reproduce with another. When done sexually, it’s pretty much only ever with those they’ve partnered with- there’s very little ‘infidelity’ amongst partnerships, or even one night stands for single Errantels. The children produced are just like humans in where they can have features of both parents, though other mutations are pretty common. 

When done asexually, it is something they can choose to do if they want a child but either don’t have any partners, or their partner can’t reproduce for some reason. Young produced this way are usually very similar to the parent- if not identical- but not always! Due to variations in DNA and self-alteration of sexual cells, as well as mutations, asexually produced young are usually slightly-off versions of the parent. Joshua, for example, was created this way- he’s almost identical to Benrey in every way except for a slightly different skin tone, and different colored eyes. 

Also, because they don’t differ at all between what’s in their pants and travel so many dimensions, Errantel have little care for gender or how they’re perceived. Most will go by whatever neutral pronouns a language has, or will simply use any pronoun- though of course, some do enjoy being gendered and are free to do so. 

Errantels also lay eggs. They’re usually in batches of 1-3; any larger and you risk the parents eating the extras to save resources. They’re usually the size of chicken eggs, and Errantel will often shift down smaller during this to hide away and go unnoticed. 

A freshly hatched Errantel simply looks like a very small adult- except for the fact that their ‘fur’ is white instead of black, and they’re usually much more covered in it. As they become juveniles, their white fur quickly starts molting away into the signature black color. 

Once their fur is molted into being fully black, they’re technically able to survive on their own. However, good parents often keep them around much longer than this, until they’ve reached full and true maturity. Once they’re old enough, they usually voluntarily leave to go find their own territories and partnerships!

 Errantels can continue to breed throughout their whole lifetimes, and so their territory will often be surrounded by the territories of their children- and so each child reared often has farther and farther to travel to reach an uninhabited space. This can be quite dangerous, but most make it. And thus,  the whole cycle starts again!

So this is what your Benrey is? Sort of. Mainly just my Swap AU Benrey and Joshua- my other Benreys are all completely different, really.

What the fuck is your Swap AU? It’s my Roleswap AU for HLVRAI. Benrey is the scientist and Gordon is the guard, etc etc. You can find out more about it here, and this is the tag I have for it on my tumblr!

Can I make an OC of this species? Fuck yeah! Go nuts, dude! The only thing I ask of you is that 1) You give credit if anyone asks what they are, and 2) send them to me! I’d love to see them! 

If I do make an OC/Use this species, does it have to be HLVRAI? Nope. Because they travel dimensions, they can arguably appear in any media- if you want you can use them for anything. Original universes, other fandoms, other AUs of any sort, etc etc! Same rules apply as above- credit, and I’d like to see them!

Can they be albino/melanistic/piebald? I’m gonna say yes because it’s cool as hell. Love that shit.

Apple Juice Royalty au!

Some of you might have seen my posts about it but basically i have created an au in which Epel is a prince and Deuce is a knight. I will talk more about them with their chatacter sheets ♡♡

First up our new prince Epel! If you cant read my handwriting I'll type it all out here

Epel is new prince adopted by the king. Under what circumstances, I'm not sure. Its possible his parents died and he was left all alone before Vil scooped him up. Despite what hes been given he's really miserable having to stay in the castle and learn a totally new dialect and manners and study all the time. He hates it. He wants to leave, and so he does. Epel escapes his home often. Also he's basically a disney princess at this point lol

About the outfit: Its based off of epel's dorm uniform and i also used some references from pinterest and Halloween costumes lol

Next is King Vil!

Vil became king, most likely when his father died. He decided to adopt an heir early on to save himself the trouble, but it really caused more trouble than it prevented. Epel's a handful and also really angsty. Dealing with him is bothersome, especially when he somehow keeps escaping even when Vil posts more and more guards around the castle, he always gets out somehow. It used to make him angry but he decided it wasn't worth the stress after a little while. Now he just sends people to go look for him whenever he escapes.

About the outfit: I used the same combination of references as I did for Epel, but i was also able to take influence from the evil queen.

Knight Deuce Spade!

Deuce is a new knight trying to do everything right and make his mother proud. His backstory is the same as it is in canon. Wanting to do right by everyone ends up with him taking his job a little too seriously but he's also terrible at the job he tries so hard at. He's not a good fighter and also dumb. But lucky for him, nothing truly dangerous ever happens in their country.

His conflict is wanting to do his job right and also being head over heels for epel and wanting to see him happy.

About the outfit: I didnt design it, i stole it from some kid. But it fits him doesnt it? source

Chief Riddle Rosehearts!!

Riddle is another who takes his job very seriously. And he has to. He's the Chief knight and is thus the leader. Everyone has to follow his lead, no ifs ands or buts about it. If you argue, he'll yell at you and thats never fun.

Riddle is the guy Vil calls on whenever Epel escapes. At this point whenever Riddle is called in, this is what he expects the reason is. Riddle puts his all into finding Epel everytime and honestly cares more about it than everyone else does.

About the outfit: I couldn't find many refs of the kind of armor i was going for but it was fine. I took a lot of inspiration from his overblot form. Ignore the fact that he's on a tilt.

A lil plot i guess

Epel started sneaking out not too long after he became a prince. As soon as he had settled in he got tired of it. So he'd just leave. These early escapades happened at night whenever Epel was feeling especially emo. He'd normally go to the horse stables and take a ride to clear his mind, or climb a tree and stargaze, something like that. Stuff princes shouldn't do. He'd never leave the castle grounds, though. His secret was only exposed when Deuce found him. He should have reported Epel but that weakness for pretty boys and the empathy he's known for prevented him. It was basically love at first sight when Deuce saw Epel up close for the first time, not that Epel could tell.

After that, Deuce and the other knights (besides riddle) who gradually found out began helping Epel truly escape, like out into the real world. With their help, He could be out for a few days, or weeks even. And as Epel and Deuce start spending more time together, they get closer and closer 👀

My other ships might be here too but I don't really want to design an outfit for Rook lol so mostly just TreyRid on the sidelines maybe.

I do want to make a comic but uhhghnbchg i always quit those lmao I get so unmotivated.

Anyway thank you 4 reading! If you have any suggestions for this au, lmk. If you're wondering, I probably won't add any more characters to this au, since i see no reason to. this is it 4 now

I HAD AN IDEA SO I RAN WITH IT AND I LOVE IT

this lovely Hawkfrost clone is named Winterdusk! He was once a PineClan healer, formerly born a loner who was brought to the Clan along side his sister Summerpelt. Summerpelt fell in love with this one cat named Flamestripe, whom Winterdusk did not like at ALL, and when he received an omen of sparks burning holes in a snowdrift he took it to mean Flamestripe was planning to harm the leader Snowstar. Flamestripe was banished, and Summerpelt never forgave Winterdusk. He found out five moons later what the omen ACTUALLY meant when he left the territory to search for a specific herb one day and was promptly murdered by Flamestripe.

Realizing he let personal qualms get in the way of his duty to his Clan filled him with guilt, and Winterdusk decided to stay in the Inbetween as recompense.

His story is inspired by the song Peace by Shayfer James!

wanted to draw how cats who sacrifice their memories to stay out of the Dark Forest look in StarClan, so here’s Cindershock after he died! Little Cinder is taken care of by his father Blackreed, and likes to chase butterflies and play with the other StarClan kits. He remembers his life as though it happened to someone else, and only returns to how he was before he died if he leaves StarClan’s borders. He has only done this three times: once to see Tangleflower in the Inbetween after she died, once to help Strikenose and Fleetfox escape the Dark Forest, and once to see Strikenose the night she became a warrior.

this started as a warmup but I ended up REALLY liking the design, like a lot, so this is Nightberry! She was a PineClan healer, who was apprenticed under Winterdusk, and then finished her training under Ryebreeze of RiftClan when Winterdusk was killed. She was quiet and thoughtful. She took a mate and eventually had kits once her apprentice Ravenspeckle was old enough to take care of things himself, and is a great-great-grandparent of Rosestar and Ryeberry (probably, I'm still thinking on this bit). Her healer herb was mulberry, representing faith.
