So I thought I’d organize my blog before I start posting too much (more than I already am lol) and end up getting lost on my own mess.

Welcome to my blog!

Hello! I'm Sydney, it's a pleasure to meet you :) I started this account mainly to scroll & look around, but it seems to have been passed around school as a "good way to contact me"? Um. With my busy schedule, I don't post as much as I'd like to, but feel free to send a message!

I'm a library assistant & spend most of my time out-of-school either at the temple, or helping my father with his shop. When I'm able to find free time, I like to hear people discuss books and share aesthetic photo posts on here :) It isn't often, but it's a joy nonetheless. You know what they say, "There's no rest for the pious!" ^^

This is a roleplay blog run by @macabrecravings! The character I write for is Sydney the Faithful from Degrees of Lewdity. Please DNI if you are under 18!

Mainly, I run this blog as masc Sydney but absolutely feel free to refer to them as any gender w/ any body parts. Doesn't matter much to me, I'm just here to have a silly time writing for them!

Starting off, I intend to portray faithful Sydney, if y'all end up corrupting them that would be really fun to see :P

You can roleplay in any style! Whether that be plainly asking them questions to answer, sending in full fledged scenarios/traditonal roleplay, etc. I'll gladly take them all and reply as best I can!

I saw your post about the god of arepo arguably not being 'tumblr folklore' and if you were at all interested, I'd love to know more about your thoughts on the subject.

What posts or work would you consider to be "folklore" and what makes it eligible for that title?

(ignore if you're not interested, but im curious....)

ok, so folklore is defined as the oral traditions of a culture - tales, myths, legends, proverbs, poems, and jokes. for our purposes, we'll make the definition of 'oral tradition' wiggly, and say that it is, in this case, conversational tone - posts that reference other posts or some concept, concepts, stories, and memes that, while they might be traceable to a single original post, exist conceptually in posts/'oral tradition' outside of the original.

now, specifically, while folklore is the tales, myths, legends, other stories etc of a culture, it is not the same as, say, a popular novel. because of our wiggly definition of oral tradition, this line is less clear on the internet, but my argument is that:

unlike goncharov, which had an expanded 'canon' with no single original work to point to (aside from the shoes which don't really count?), the god of arepo is reference to a specific short story written by three specific tumblr users (four if you count @writing-prompt-s as a contributor) and adapted into a comic by comic artist @reimenaashelyee. i can list all of the people involved in this chain - @sadoeuphemist is the author who posted the original short story under the prompt, @sameenbyhat (url at the time Ciiriianan) posted the second part, and @stu-pot posted the third part, and by their powers combined, this is the post that is referred to as the full and complete story of the god of arepo.

this is different from, say, humans-as-space-orc stories, which have a number of posts connected by the concept or collaboratively built across multiple posts that are told in a more conversational 'they were like and then this person was all' style - like they're describing an encounter second hand rather than constructing a prose.

my frustration with tumblr's insistence that the god of arepo is folklore is that it misunderstands what folklore actually is in favor of pointing at prose with elements that we recognize from folklore and defining folklore as stories that sound like folk tales, instead of examining where the story came from and how it spread. the god of arepo always refers to the story written by the above users. it refers to that post specifically - unlike things like goncharov or humans-as-space-orcs or hell even things like spiders georg, which are shared and interacted with in a much more direct way that could be interpreted as the difference between oral or conversational communication on this site vs prose.

I mainly post my art here and i have a sideblog too, which is @mcrinmyheart and idk what i post there :D. I’ve been scouting for some new work the last few weeks. And I came across this freelance company, a freelance writer’s group, who I scouted out through LinkedIn. And so I applied for them. And I passed the initial ‘test’ with them on the application. So I thought I was getting somewhere. Approaching a ‘proper job’, as it were.

I looked on their site, and I was supposed to book an Order with them – a writing project of which I could work on. Which would be the next step in the process. And I browsed over them briefly.

The information was a bit convoluted, and seemed to involve writing financial letters, or, subjects related to law or insurance. I wasn’t quite knowledgeable about such things, and so I kept browsing. And I came to this other Order that was in the bracket of fiction. So I clicked on that.

And apparently you had to read a synopsis and then make a novelette out of it. But the description said you had to include various things within the piece, that were mandatory. Hmm. None of the information was especially clear. So I kinda hesitated for a while. I was travelling earlier in the month and so wasn’t at home, and hadn’t logged back into the site to book one of these Orders. I still wasn’t quite sure how this company worked.

Then yesterday I got an email from them – an automated one – asking why I hadn’t booked on Order. I was out all day yesterday so I didn’t have time to reply to the email. And, just tonight, in the last hour, I got another email from them, telling me they had temporarily deactivated my account.

I tried to log back in but wasn’t able to. And I thought about emailing them, to tell them that I’d been busy, but I was still intrigued. But, before I did that, I thought I would look the company up online, to see what I was dealing with here. Which is what I should have done from the get go. So I typed into Google something like ‘Is this company reliable for freelance writers?’

And, instantly, there was an entire spate of pages across the first search, relating to this company. Each one I clicked on, there were accounts from freelancers who had worked with this company, and were warning other writers NOT to work with them. There were stories of writers working on entire books and being paid less than minimum wage for it. Stories of deals being severed after the hirer pulled out, leaving the freelancer hanging. And so on, so forth. The main consensus from this group was that it was a dodgy, shoddy company, who weren’t there to help writers, and who were only using them; and they made their money from the other clients who needed somebody to write stuff for them.

I was a bit disappointed. And felt silly that I had been naïve, in thinking that they were legit. I’ve had similar experiences in the ‘writing world’, where groups have expressed false interest, in order to make money from themselves. But, luckily, I’ve realised they were all falsetto. I was glad that I went to Denmark, instead of pursing a career with this phony company.

And, just to say, that’s why I like Tumblr. Because, as writers, we can just post for free. And share our stories and poems. We only post out of a love for literature, and there is no hustle or agenda behind our posts. And so, the Hell with that ^ company. And I’ll just keep posting on here. Wish all you fellow writers well.

Hello everyone,

I am Deadwhisper and I was supposed to be an occasional writer. I started this Tumblr account because I thought I'd write something or the other or at least a poem once a month or something.

I did not. I did not live up to my own comittments ( I have now realised that I never do).

I am a silly, stupid girl who does take things for granted, complains about life and (barely) studies. And I am so sad of my behaviour. It's funny that again after a long time instead of being angry towards my behaviour I'm just sad.

Is this where I will end up? Alone in a room watching YouTube like a dumb kid? I don't know. I don't want that to happen though. The future me that I dreamt of wasn't like this, oof! The future me was smart and witty and quick on her feet. She was at the top of her class and the kindest in her group. She wrote poems and short stories too. She was outgoing and fun to be with.

I am none of these, in fact I'm just the opposite. What an ironic turn of events isn't it. I dream but do not work on what I truly want.

I....

I have been binging alot of dsmp content and amongst them all Technoblade is my favourite. He was amazing and so cool! And always caring about people around him but also just so damn amazing!!! I am so sad that I got to know him after his passing.

But what I really want to say is that he did what he wanted till his last days literally and left a legacy behind. And I want that too....I don't want to die with regrets so stupid. Regrets I could have easily worked on and around. I want to be like Techno too!! Passionate in whatever I do, believing in and working hard towards my dreams.

So I will work upon myself

I will definitely do so

I will write a lil something every now and then and post it. I will play chess, at least a game everyday because I want to learn it. I will study at least 10 hours a day because that is minimised of what I should.

I get 24 hours a day and I am going to make every new set of 24 hours that I receive everyday, matter.

I can do this all. I believe in myself and I also believe in you. If you also are stuck in a rut and if you read this then let us promise each other that we will do one thing better per day. Everyday will we do something better than what we did yesterday and one day, I'm sure of it, we will be amazing!!!

Your words carry something of a murky springscape. Ripening fog, coating lichens and berries with your taste— wise and kindred to me. If I am the leaf, you are the evening dew, satiating me. If you are the birdwatcher, then my skin is a plume bearing bloom, I am the magpie prancing gale. Where you murmur silkenly, I am a doe drinking every lace of hush. Oh, and I do so cherish every vowel spilt in me. Ere, the chamber held in my skull would be devoid of an ode such as this one be it somebody else— but it is you. You inspire visions, inspire desires, giving me a want of you deeper than words hit. Minds being minds, I envision, I craft an illusion on how you may appear, to satiate the blank terrain inside with your dew–dropping paint. A fucking moisture pearl you are— dripping upon me, the pond, and letting ripples wave verses with your drop–dead ravishing poems onto me, the remembrance never flees me. Can't fucking forget, won't fucking consign to oblivion, I will consume and safekeep instead, interlace with my intestines unto my death. This springscape is phantasmagoric, but baby, you are nothing of a blur in it. Let it be not a dream, lay with me in spring, lie in me with murk, awaken in me something unlearnt— love.

i thought this up in like 2 hours minimum without proofreading I even wrote this up in docs, rawdogged it, so i hope it makes enough sense ♡ also my first love poem ever, so, yippee??!! ilysm. me 2 u tbh:

aestra oh my god… seeing this in my inbox has me speechless. the way you form your words and speak them to me is like no other… i can’t grasp the fact that sometimes you’re real… i had never received something this throughout in my inbox before… reading the works you put out and the kindness you exude even during the times where im overwhelmed and no where to be seen, you still end up telling me the warmest things that end up feeling like a hug.

going through a time im going through right now… where i feel confused and unsure, having something like this i can read again and again, calms me. taking the step to make this blog… meeting so many different people with you being one of them, i feel so fucking grateful. i never would have thought that id be able to befriend and have so much support as i do now. it can get overwhelming at times but overall… it’s something id never take back.

im actually speechless and i reread this six times as im writing this not thinking that id ever receive something like this since it’s not often that i do… i don’t think a ‘thank you’ can be sufficient enough… there has to be more i can give to show you my appreciation for this poem alone as well as how gentle you had been throughout the time we were strangers up until now.

thank you for messaging me first… thank you for helping me through my hardships and telling me things i needed to hear instead of my own pessimistic views on things. i can’t think of much to say… but just know that im happy and this made me completely overjoyed.

When the World Stopped Turning

I was one year old on September 11, 2001. I don't remember anything.

I think I was nine when my dance teacher wore an old sweatshirt with the New York City skyline on it. She pointed out the twin towers and said that's how you know it was from before 9/11. After dance class, following my mom to the front door of our house, I asked what 9/11 means. She stopped dead in her tracks. Looking back that always seemed overdramatic. No one stops dead in their tracks in real life, that only happens on TV.

I was 13 when my brother wrote on Facebook "What's the difference between a cow and 9/11? a cow isn't milked for 12 years" My mom was horrified. But my brother is funny, so I thought it must have been a funny thing to say.

I didn't understand why my mom never let my brother play Weird Al's Christmas at Ground Zero in the car. Instead, she played Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning) by Alan Jackson. It's impossible not to feel something when you hear that song, but it didn't feel real. I couldn't remember a time when the world stopped turning.

As I got older, I learned the details. I learned that there were 4 hijacked planes. Two planes hit the two World Trade Center towers. One plane hit the Pentagon. The other was probably aiming for the Capitol but it went down near Pittsburgh. I knew there were heroes, but I didn't know their stories. I knew there were casualties but I didn't know their names. I learned just enough facts to laugh at the unfortunate asbestos ad that makes the rounds every year.

When I was 16, I went to visit my dad in New Jersey and he took me to the 9/11 Memorial. It was the first time any of it felt real. I stood there and saw where the twin towers used to be, imagined how tall they must have been. I saw the white roses left by some of the names. I went home and wrote a poem about it for my creative writing class. My teacher said it was beautiful.

The next week was AP exams. The world did not stop turning.

I was 17 on February 14, 2018, when Nikolas Cruz opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. I sat in my own high school, on the other side of the country, and scrolled through the tag on tumblr. I watched a video posted by a student from inside the school. I heard the gunshots and the whimpering tears and the pure terror. I felt the world stop.

I was almost 20 when I met a boy named Patrick. He was a year younger than me. He had been a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. His sister died that day. That was real.

For years I've been surrounded with 9/11 jokes and discussions about islamophobia, and that's not a bad thing. But today, for the first time, I found the Something Awful Forums 9/11 thread, documenting people's reactions in real time as the events unfolded. They watched thousands of people die on live television. Friends and family. I saw the explosions and the confusion and the pure terror. It was real. And 22 years later, I felt the world stop turning.

Neither Corvo nor the Outsider can cook. I think I briefly mentioned it in my fic but it's so important to me that they both suck in the kitchen. Corvo grew up with his mom's cooking and then immediately moved to a palace, and the Outsider is four thousand years out of practice and also always tummy hurty. This becomes kind of an issue once they have their happily ever after in Karnaca (oh look another headcanon), cause they have to figure out how to feed themselves...

I answered this one already, but let me also add that for a lot of what I write I have some kinda playlist or a song or two that vibrate on the same frequency as what I'm trying to write. This one's kinda embarrassing, but my old tumblr wasn't a fandom one, I just posted my original writing and poems and reblogged art I liked, and I used to date this dude who was also a writer so I showed it to him cause he said he wanted to read my writing too. Well, he never looked at it while we were dating, but like a year after we broke up he messaged me on there (why??? did he delete my phone number or something?? mortifying...) saying something like, "Your sadness is so beautiful, let's be friends!" At around the same time I was also talking to some tumblr guy who just stopped messaging me one day, which hurt my feelings, so I was like hell nah, I'm out. I deleted that tumblr and made this new one and I made the username a kind of.... Protective curse? To ward off people, cause I was all hiss boo people suck. 'ill met' instead of 'well met' and 'kismet' cause it rhymed and sounded vaguely curse-like lol.... Hilariously, I ended up actually participating in fandom with this username and making lots of cool friends so I'm a shitty witch I guess.

hi @sunlit-sonata ! You asked me a question and I somehow deleted your ask instead of replying. Which pretty much answers the second half of your question about how organized I am about themes and postings😂😂😂

(in fact, there are three things that I do very, very well 1) be hopelessly disorganized 2) utterly fail at anything requiring math and 3) have no concept of what “left’ and ‘right’ actually mean. My poor partner does NOT get paid enough, just saying!)

as to the first part of your question, I started doing the themes because I thought it would be cool to take a couple of poems recently written by TWC poets, and then add some similar poems that either didnt get enough love or fell into the tumblr wayback machine.

But then I started thinking more and more about how certain websites are really pushing to make art and literature inaccessible—and I’m not just talking about paywalls. Writing and poetry and music and art and all the other creative stuff we do as humans should be messy and fun and a little wonky.

Poems about tigers and having bad days and aimlessly cloud watching may not meet the Very Serious Criteria of certain websites and journals, but those kind of poems are also the bestest kind of homemade cookies. And there is never, ever, ever enough homemade cookies.

Especially the extra crunchy one from the far corner of the pan😋

So. Lots of pain meds at the moment, so this is a little bit nonsensical, but, I have been playing the newly released video game I was a teenage exocolonist (available on steam, not linked because tag visibility) while I am laid up in bed.

Lots of opinions, basically all positive. There’s a specific thing I want to talk about in more detail, but this post got too long so I will just link a future post on the gender politics of nature, nurture, and future as presented by the twins Dys and Tang.

So instead here’s my Most Recommendable Qualities (mostly free of spoilers):

Native linux compatibility:

you know how I am about that. I cannot believe I’ve become the very linux guy I so hated when I was working retail…

Upsettingly beautiful art

2D gaming is my first love but man the medium has come a long way since needing a flashlight to play pokemon. Sometimes I forget how far, and then games like this pop up with the gorgeous art and expressive characters, and I inevitably find myself wondering why the “”“"mainstream”“”“ video game market (in as much as such exists these days) focused so obsessively on photo realistic 3D when inevitably a well directed art style is what matters most.

The backgrounds and environments in the game are all extremely lush, with a gorgeous, colorful style that if I had become an art critic instead of a writing critic I would probably have better terminology to describe. Like, uh. Water colors or some shit. Stained glass. It’s all very luminous fuck dude I don’t know, the closest I’m going to get here is to write a poem and I’m not going to write a poem where the fuckign developers might see it. I need to be sober for that.

Characters:

I’m a character driven asshole, we all know this. It’s why I read so much fanfiction and play so much melodramatic fantasy and spend several hours of my life openly sobbing about a single fucking issue of Sandman. So, you’ll understand when I say, "people keep recommending me dating sims and I keep bouncing off of them because the characters never Do A Thing,” what my major criticism of a lot of Large Cast Of Dateable Character games is.

None of those issues arise here. I’ve played a few runs now, making a conscious decision on each to focus on a specific character. One. SIngular. Except, the thing is, you can’t do that. Not in the sense that the game won’t “let” you. You could certainly just dump all of your time into skills and one character. And the timeline of the game would change to reflect your isolationism.

Characters you don’t interact with during runs have their own “autonomous” storylines written, and each divergence your player character makes has its impacts meticulous tracked to create different character experiences every time, even as each character holds very tight to a narrow set of repeating traits. This only further emphasizes the fundamental strangeness of the player character, as the only one capable of being fundamentally different across timelines.

Also all the dateables are just, oh god, SO cute. And, by the time they are capable of fucking, very fuckable. Extremely attractive designs. Honestly everyone is super cute. The whole cast is magnificently designed. And that includes…

Monsters & World Building:

First of all, let’s get the important personal opinions out of the way. I think I would fuck the antagonist….uh….commander, whatever his title is. He looks like a fucked up centaur and I’m into that. There are also Adequate Amounts Of Tentacles. If you’ve known me long, you know that is a high bar, but the game clears it admirably and with diversity!

The alien fauna are all very FUCKING COOL. There’s a bit of throwaway dialogue from An Adult (your dad?) that talks about expecting the planet’s ecosystem to be ‘more alien’ than it is, and I respect the space program’s attempt a tpreparedness but for me, the whole uhhhhhh. Situation. With regards to the alien animals is PLENTY alien, and SO satisfying.

If you’ve ever been like, “god, I wish someone who wasn’t orson scott card would do all the cool shit they did in fucking speaker for the dead” then by GOD is this the game for you.

Accessibility:

The content warnings are extremely detailed. I reviewed them all, and having seen several of the ones I was most worried about, I feel they accurately described the situations without spoiling them. I did end up upsetting myself rather badly with one thing which happened, but it is hardly the developer’s fault that I misunderstood the context in which the “teenage pregnancy” CW would apply. I personally want to specify that (IN THE ROUTES I HAVE SO FAR PLAYED) the pregnancy is a very wanted, safe, and cherished.

The game players very well on controller, which is a must for me. There are a handful of UI elements that I have not yet been able to access by controller, but I think this is more a factor of my being bad at remembering buttons than the game’s design. If you have a mouse, that will solve the issue entirely. My GF speaks highly of the keyboard and mouse gameplay.

Turning off screen distortions and weather effects generally made the game very visually understandable for me, with large, clear iconography. If you have significant visual impairments, I don’t know if this is a good game to play. Picking up items on the ground can be tricky in some cases and there’s nothing for eg a high contrast or greyscale mode if you need that kind of thing.

Stability.

It’s easy to forget that near-launch properties are supposed to be complete games that function well. This game is very complete (VERY, INTRICATELY, COMPLETE) and very stable. With as complicated as the sets of cause-effect-timelines are, I expected it to be much easier to create minor paradoxes in dialogue.

So far, the only time events have seemed to happen slightly out of sequence due to relationship progression or what ever else, was when I made a conscious effort to be as obnoxious as possible at one point just to see if I could make it misbehave.

I haven’t been able to make it crash from within the game so far. I’m hardly a Q.A. tester anymore, but I do tend to be pretty aggressive to my games, so I feel confident in saying it’ll run steady for you if you get it.

Politics etc:

The queerness is all very excellent, super queer in very believable ways, especially given the cultural aspects of the worldbuilding. Characters behave queerly outside of just all being bi-for-the-player. The trans characters were all extremely appealing to me with strong characterization that included but did not obsess over their genders. There are at least 2 trans teens in the player character’s peer group and 2 trans adults of very different ages and character types, and there’s even a cute little intergenerational trans solidarity bit you can get sometimes. In addition, of course, to the ridiculously complete gender personalization.

You would not believe how many games forget that “bro” and “cowgirl” are gendered terms, but this one remembers.

The racial politics are, from my perspective, adequate to not interfere with my gameplay experience. The human characters do consistently refer to the environment and native animals in very colonialist terms but they’re literally colonizing the planet so…. The point is, there is not a native people being eradicated, though there are… territory wars(? I guess.) with both wild animals and antagonist peoples.

If you’re particularly sensitive to colonial narratives, handle with care, but I felt the writing in the routes I’ve seen so far handled most of the issues well. Plus I mean. THe title. Is “teenage exocolonist” like. I think the whole “colonialism is a major narrative theme” ituation should be made clear by that.

In terms of the human diversity it’s pleasingly broad. There are characters of all ages, builds, complexions, races, personality types. There’s a massive range of disabilities both physical and mental, as well as plenty of fun sci fi accomodations.

I mean just among the dateables I can remember top of the head, theres:

ambiguously asian twins who really said Autism Has Two Genders,

ambiguously brown fat girl with developmental disability,

ambiguously brown Gym Bro (derogatory) who is, and this is true, literally named 'ambiguously brown

ambiguously white farmboy who has clearly been eating his space wheaties and also helps invent space cannabis with your dad

unambiguously black girl who looks the autism twins dead in the eye and said 'no autism has one gender and is me’

unambiguously white tomboy who goes full samus

A dog (human)

Hatsune Miku (gender neutral)

Venom (twink)

There’s something here for everyone, all of these characters are super fascinating concepts honestly. I know I keep harping on that but it’s true so there.

Scenario writing:

It’s a bit difficult to separate the player character writing from the scenario writing for reasons that rapidly become clear in the game. Both are very good, though, so that’s fine. The writing is just really very good.

The variations on the timeline that you are able to uncover through repeated play are fascinatingly diverse even as certain events remain immutable, and the whole thing really plays with the concept of time travel and the other-self so beautifully. Really one of my very favourite explorations of the topic already, and I’ve only seen… IDK 4 endings along 2 routes? And there’s 29 endings???

It’s very good. The point is that it’s very good you should go play it.

It’s on steam. It’s app 1148760 on steam and it’s very good, it’s definitely worth more than what they’re charging. I mean have you seen what a $60 console game looks like these days, and then this is like. $25 and SO very much.

I just had dinner with my family. My twin has to write a poem for her english class. Our dad suggests that I could help, because I'm "good at english." My twin says that my poems would all be about marvel. Our younger sister tells us she knows what I would write and gives us an earthshattering one-line masterpiece: "Iron Man is hot."

I was telling my younger sister that I have a friend who would call her poem a masterpiece and completely drop me in order to be friends with my sister instead, and my twin mentioned that I'd probably make a tumblr post about this. And here we are. What was I supposed to do, not tell my friends in my puter about this?

Week 4 Tumblr Case Study

Blogging My Feelings Away

It’s the year 2014. Every teenager is blasting Halsey’s ‘Badlands’ album while scrolling through Tumblr. The aesthetic pictures, the dark yet pretty poems that expressed how a heartbroken teenager felt, everyone loved to blog their feelings away during that era.

"But wait, what is blogging?"

A blog is like a digital diary, instead of writing it on paper, we would write it on blogging platforms such as Tumblr. Besides yourself, anyone can participate in making entries in your blog or even just read them, so I guess you can say that it is not really a diary (because most of the time, diaries are a secret you know). Now back to teens on Tumblr, technically they know more about Tumblr so naturally, it makes them good at digital strategy. For example, user Pizza hit 100, 000 followers on Tumblr after more than 2 years on the blogging platform. From posting party outfits pictures to funny one-liners, she had a whopping 90,000 followers, earning her fame in her circle. That all happened at the end of 2012, the same year she turned 15 years old.

Speaking of Tumblr, it was officially launched in February 2007 and gained over 75 000 users in 2 weeks. After 2 months after Tumblr launched its first major brand advertising campaign with Adidas, which launched an official soccer Tumblr blog and bought placements on the user dashboard, Tumblr announced that it would be moving towards paid advertising on its site.

Phew, that was a lot of history, now moving on to what you can do on this platform (think of this post as an intro to Tumblr). Of course, we can blog anonymously, that is. Unlike Facebook or Instagram, we don’t have to put our real names, therefore creating a safe space for many marginalised groups. (You can talk about how much you like Levi Ackerman and not get judged because no one knows who you really are, people only know you as that one Levi Tumblr account).

Tumblr is a relatively public place to blog your feelings away as users do not need to follow each other to see their contents and users cannot tell when someone is online as the date and time stamps are not prioritised. Lastly, did you know that Tumblr was one of the first social media sites to use hashtags as a community building tool? (I didn’t either until I read the module).

Speaking of building a community, there are 5 stages of building a community on a blog. The first stage is simply you. The way you write your blogs and express yourself in a way that is relatable and can make you gain readers. This leads to stage 2 which is readers engaging with you. This is when your readers share their feedback, by leaving comments and you as the blogger, need to take the initiative to respond to them hence engaging with your readers. Not only do your readers engage with you but they can also engage with one another, which brings us to stage 3. At this stage, this means that you have a much deeper level of community engagement than you did when you were the central point of contact for everyone. Moving on to stage 4, when you see your readers engaging with one another, they like the things that you wrote and decided to tell other people about it. The more followers you have, the bigger your blog will become and soon your loyal followers will become moderators for the discussion forums in your blog. Lastly, stage 5, is engagement. This is when you as the blogger are still there, but interactions and relationships go on.

In conclusion, Tumblr is a place where people blog their feelings away.
