re: that *chef kiss* PERFECT Franken-Drummer post and tumblr not being all over The Expanse, I know right?? it’s such an amazing show with so many delightful, complicated characters yet it’s so unfairly slept on! maybe because S1 takes awhile to get going and ppl give up? idk but it makes me sad that I have so few ppl to squeal about Drummer and Amos and Bobbie and Christjen and Ashford and Naomi (ad infinitum) with 😭🚀😭

WHY ARE PEOPLE NOT OBSESSED WITH THE EXPANSE HELLO!?!?! there's literally so much to love about it oh my god. you're right, it DOES take a second to get going but once it does!!!

for those of you who have not read or seen The Expanse series (I myself have yet to read the books), let me tell you why you'll love it:

political space drama with incredibly distinct cultures and phenomenal world building, if you're a details girlie (gn), you're gonna go nuts

the found family vibes!!??! are off!?!? the charts!?!? (minor spoilers for the first few episodes) four people are thrown into a situation in which they accidentally become the most important people/fugitives in the whole galaxy and most of them DO NOT trust each other, what could possible go wrong, and even better, what could possibly go RIGHT

Christjen Avasarala. you are not ready for her. most powerful mover-shaker on earth with the most incredible outfits you've ever seen, refined elegance with the filthiest mouth, plus she's got a classic "whatever those two have going on is so gay it veers into something else entirely" with her younger protective knight lady, Bobbie

Bobbie. the "not to be a lesbian but oh my god" post is made for her. we meet her in the show for the first time when she arm wrestles a robot and WINS. you will be begging for her to step on you with her mech suit

speaking of women I want to step on me Camina Drummer. angry revolutionary pirate queen of my heart. do you miss the unique agony of 2000/10s queerbaiting but want it to be not baiting somehow? this show does that, idk how else to explain it. the most agonizing sapphic pining you've ever seen but it's textual and also not painful because its gay. don't worry, Camina fucks, just not the girl she wants most (also spoilers, but this is not a bury your gays show don't worry)

Hi!! I just finished reading part 6 of your Thorfinn headcanons. I really liked them and I think you nailed his character perfectly.

Is it okay if I request for headcanons on a Yandere s1 Thorfinn (in a romantic way) with a female reader who's the same age as him? Reader can't really fight well and was mainly recruited by Askeladd for other skills (e.g navigation, cooking, speaking multiple languages). Headcanons on how Yandere Thorfinn falls for reader, how he generally acts, and what if reader becomes uncomfortable with Thorfinn's overprotectiveness and tries to leave the crew / ask Askeladd for help?

Yandere!S1!Thorfinn with a Female!Reader who becomes uncomfortable around him

Oh lemme get started with this ohh I am so in the mood for yandere thorfinn

So to fall for someone I think you would need to get close to Thorfinn like in my general Thorfinn headcanons. It's not exactly the closeness but rather the way you enter his life. Taking care of him, doing favors, listening to his story of his father, being this amicable shine of normalcy as he gets more and more comfortable with you and finally realizes you could be a friend. You are a friend.

During that time of bonding he might already develop some feelings for you but they are very, very subtle. Guy barely knows what he is feeling anyway. It might be because of your smile or your care and your kindness, your skills or wits. It could be everything combined.

Well, you are also the only woman he knows and has known the past eleven years...so there are definitely situations where he catches himself feeling flustered.

The real turning point for him to become a Yandere is when Askeladd concludes his 'experiment' and almost killed you (though there is another turning point that happens at the very end of the prologue but we'll go in detail in the upcoming parts ;) ).

He is and definitely will be overprotective of you and your well-being after that like in the general headcanons for sure, but there is a slight disdain and ache growing in his heart at the thought that the murderer of his father almost took you away from Thorfinn as well.

Had he not been there...not been fast enough, not been strong enough - not like he was when he was a six-year-old child - then you would have been gone, too.

Gone. Your body left to rotten in some burning forest where the danish soldiers would stomp on your corpse as if you were nothing.

As if you were a nobody. But you aren't. Oh, if only then knew.

How he generally acts afterwards is quite the shift. Thorfinn is as protective as always but to a point where he grows the most hostile he has ever been with the band.

The men and Askeladd barely can recognize him. Holding your body close to him, you sitting on his lap as he presses you tightly against his chest...one arm to support you while the other is holding his dagger so tightly his knuckles turn white.

He's staring into nothingness with a scowl.

Your wound has long healed but the blonde still cradles you as if the incident just happened. It's gotten a bit ridicilous in the men's eyes.

One of them might say something and will surely be met with Thorfinn's dark glare. If one even took one step closer, blood will be spilled before Askeladd can cease the conflict.

You need to really, really convince him that you are okay. You may not be a fighter, but you are still needed and can't just sit in one spot doing nothing. Thorfinn would need thourough explanations and promises before he lets you go. Only to follow close behind you.

Since you are a woman, he is much more careful and protective. He kinda, unfortunately, sees you as weak and it doesn't help that you aren't a fighter as well so any kind of damage, even a chip of your nail, is immediately met with a flinging dagger at the cause of your injury.

Thorfinn truly changes. He becomes overprotective, paranoid, clingy, longing and quiet after all of this. He is silent as he protects you and will only bark out insults, as well as his true feelings for you, when he is irritated or being mocked. You can imagine that Askeladd out of all people will jab the blonde and since it is, y'know, his father's killer and the one who attempted to murder you too, Thorfinn will not hold back or hesitate to scream his head off to him.

"Don't you dare open your mouth! You bastard tried to take her away from me too!"

'Tried to take her away from me.' - that's something he says a lot, Askeladd noted and so did you. It's startling to see your friend like this.

The paranoia stems from his fear of you being killed while he cannot do anything to protect you. As a child he had to watch his father die and back then he was only a small, defenseless kid. Now, he is a killer but he barely thinks of himself in such a way. In his mind, he is strong and on the way to become a true warrior. He is strong and quiet and skilled and deadly and those are all the things he needs to be to keep you safe.

Therefore, Thorfinn follows you everywhere like a loyal guard dog. To the woods, to the beach, on the road, sitting riiiight next to you on the ship, even following after you when you need to do your business in the bushes.

Sleeping, eating, marching, working, bathing - whatever you do, Thorfinn will be there.

When you tell him that this 'shadowing' makes you uncomfortable and that nothing dangerous is going to happen, Thorfinn will ALWAYS interject. He is doing this to look out for you. You understand when you are camping outside and sleeping or when you are even bathing, but he doesn't need to follow you all the time.

Again, he shakes his head with a scoff. He does need to. He must to, in order to keep you safe.

Besides, it's not like you can fight. You always need someone to protect you in general and that one is always Thorfinn (not like he'll let anyone else be near you) so you cannot really complain. Can you fight off an ambush? Yeah, that's what he thought.

The young man doesn't ruly mean to be harsh, he is just always on edge when you are somewhere out of your literal safe space. He doesn't trust anyone, not even friendly-looking villagers. Young or old, Thorfinn would step in front of you when someone approaches you. He is not the best talker but he will be just to not have this scum or whoever dare to make idle conversation with you. He won't let you answer to any strangers or bandmates, unless necessary.

Yet, as cold and harsh as he is, he is also oddly clingy. It may be the way he always touches you to keep you with him but there forms a weird longing to always be close to you. The hand that clutched your arm now slowly slides down to your hand and his thumb is brushing your skin. When sitting on the ship and he has his arm around you to keep you steady on these wild waves, his head unwittingly leans down to your shoulder, his locks tickling your neck. And when you cuddle to sleep in the winter, he won't let go. He is so still and so quiet, only a few flustered grunts escaping his lips but he does it anyway. He still caresses your hand and he still buries his head in your neck and he still cradles you in his arms. It's strange and out of nowhere.

It is also strange to see him long in such a quiet way. The touches, the worried remarks - they keep on returning again and again, even when they are not asked for. When you ask him to cut your hair, you do not ask him to play with it for what feels like eternity. When you return from a job, you do not ask to be yelled at by Thorfinn on where you were and that you should stay by his side, only to hear a mumbled apology and have him ask you, again and again, if you are fine and in need of anything.

Asking the man who tried to kill you just to see if his little tool would react for help, is a bold move. Crazy and foolish even.

Fine, let's say it's all forgotten and forgiven (no, it's not).

Askeladd is sure to realize the unhealthy behavior of the blonde and unlike the rest of the band, is aware what it means for you and him.

A cruel part of him might keep him that way and see how far he can go again when it comes to his feelings for you.

But...another part of him is understanding. Askeladd is a cunning hypocrite and I believe he has a soft spot for women in general due to his relationship with his mother and how she was treated. He is even softer for you if you remind him of her.

So...both men have a weird relationship so you can bet that he cannot just go and 'have a chat' with Thorfinn. Instead, Askeladd would slowly begin to give orders or put you in places where you and Thorfinn won't interact as much.

(Or he could take this to his advantage and experiment more how much he can actually use Thorfinn as a tool.)

Thorfinn will notice however and demand an explanation on what the hell this is supposed to be. He would never say it but to him it is clear that he and you are to be together. Nothing and nobody can just seperate you two.

Askeladd will let out half-assed excuses but if he feels quite vexed by the lad's constant sour attitude OR if he wants to simply torture you and let out the cat out of the bag, the leader will let Thorfinn know that YOU were the one who asked him to do this.

Thorfinn does not believe him and will not for weeks. A snake like himself cannot be trusted and Thorfinn holds you to such a high regard that he'd never dream of you 'betraying' him.

'Betrayal'. That's what he sees it as so once he starts to realize that his words were the truth, Thorfinn will feel immensily hurt by you. Can't you see that he only wants to keep you safe, that he IS keeping you safe? You mean more than any of these despicable bastards could, more than some crown prince of Denmark could. He isn't stupid, he isn't crazy, he's doing it all for you! So why are you fighting back when he is your protector?!

And you've went behind his back to his father's murderer! How could you?!

You try to explain that he knows no boundaries to the point where he endangers everyone but you - even himself!

But no, Thorfinn doesn't listen. In his mind, he is the right one or rather his actions are correct. All that he has done so far has kept you alive so it cannot be wrong.

And if you try to leave the band? Forget telling Askeladd. The man is selfish enough to keep your around despite your feelings since you are still useful to him.

So there you are, leaving in the dead of the night. The attempt is short-lived for Thorfinn notices quite quickly that you aren't sleeping by his side anymore and will find you just as fast.

He stands there with wide eyes and daggers in hand. What are you doing? Where are you going?

You try to explain as much as you want but it kind of doesn't enter his head. Thorfinn is more shocked at the fact that you are leaving and instead seems to stand idly and menacingly.

He hears your words...and it would be selfish to not let you leave. There's a small ringing in the back of his mind that tells him the truth - that it is selfish to not let you go.

This life is not a safe one. Amongst abhorrent vikigns who kill and raid. And now you were dragged into his life where he keeps on risking it for something as petty as revenge.

It would be selfish. Selfish...

"No..." is all he managed to let out before he pounces on you and holds you so tight on his arms you fear your bones will shatter.

He would never hurt you. But he will never let you go.

For in this messed up life of his full of blood and death, you are the only normalcy that he has.

Besides the vengeance, he has nothing in his life but you.

The blonde tries to justify it that he can keep you safe the most. There is no one else out there who would protect a woman like you like he does. There is no one out there...that loves you like he does.

He tries to justify it while you struggle under him. He tries to not think of any 'selfishness' as he holds you close and never lets you go.

Other things about being female with a Yandere! Thorfinn where I didn't know where to put them in:

I really hate to say it but you being a woman, Thorfinn would see you as weak.

It's less about 'weakness' and more about his belief that nobody is as 'strong' as him. Having survived and killed for so long he is quite confident in his skills and therefore believes himself to be a bit special...or, if anything, closer to a 'true warrior' than anyone else in the band.

So his overprotectivess is off the charts. He won't ever tell you you're weak but might yell it out when you irritate him too much. You aren't as strong as him, not as strong as you think you are! Let him handle this.

The overprotectiveness also stems from his distrust and disgust around the other men when it comes to you. A woman like you isn't seen as a person in the eyes of vikings - of these bastards - so he keeps you close only to him (just the way he likes it).

Well, and if you have more feminine features he, well, will notice them. Of course, he will notice them when he has been surrounded by nothing but men and their features. So yours are different and new...and nice.

But not only that...he notices how different you are. When feeling anything positive, the band smirks and leers...but you smile and grin so naturally, so softly. When they laugh, they guffaw at the suffering over others and you chortle and giggle at a stupid joke. It's different and so much more amicable. You're strange and normal.

However, Thorfinn scoffs and looks away when he catches himself staring at you since he feels he is not being better than any of the other mates. He can't just...stare at your hair and your eyes and your form...he would feel like them even if he silently admits to himself that he likes looking at you.

JEALOUSY JEALOUSY JEALOUSY but only to people he doesn't think are scum :D i.e. people like Canute (anyone but Askeladd). Thorfinn isn't insecure in the slightest - he just doesn't like the fact that someone is looking at you the way he is looking at you. The same softness, the same weakness.

the thing w the first two is that it is VERY hard to get them to like u, however i think w some (A LOT OF) persistence u could maybe get them to begrudgingly admit u may be friends

the main conflict w those two however would b their morality and it clashing w ur characters...

i hateee putting characters on 'good guy' and 'bad guy' boxes but these two would definitely be badddd...

they go killing ppl and it isnt a 'noble' reasoning like killing horrible ppl they just get whoever they can kill without getting caught..if a kid wanders a lil too far....well 🤷

ur not gonna catch em crying either, neither feels bad ab it. elias is v goal oriented and justifies himself w that and rogdona.....well hes himself thats like a hobby to him 😵‍💫

elias is also veryyyy mistrustful so if ur character disagrees a lot w him hell be suspicious, and if they always agree w him hell also be suspicious AND if they also kill ppl hes not gonna trust em at all, ullula forbid they turn on him🙃🙃 despite all their time together he still doesnt truly trust rogdona

u see, shes meant to be humanitys guide and protector, so if ur character is a force of pure good or evil she may not like them very much at first but she recognizes that conflict is necessary for guidance and protection to be needed, and peace is necessary for there to be a conclusion

ullula is also v skittish and tends to disappear at any sign of trouble thats out of her hands, but if they can deal with that im sure shell appreciate it and be a good friend

yk the first couple of episode drops were a bit ehh to me but like.. these two just hit Right. maybe bc i knew what to expect pacing/story wise now? either way, they're def my faves so far, especially ep 5. that's my Favorite favorite :]

spoilers for both eps under the cut, mostly just me blabberin abt what i liked (warning: its alotta alastor)

for ep 5, at first i thought charlastors/radiobelles were winning (and while i don't ship it myself, i was happy for em) but then the realization of 'wait wait wait this isn't romo at all, alastors tryna be a FATHER FIGURE?!' hit instead and i went WILD bc thats 1000% my preferred dynamic for charlie and al. so uh.. yippee dadlastors, sorry charlastors..? gsjahafdaj

also the "Ha! Fuck you." im normal im normal im NORMAL im SOOOO FUCKIN NORMAL (IM CRAZY IM VRAZY I CRAZY IM CRASTY IM FUCKI)

mimzy!! (mimzie??) her intro was abrupt, but she seems like a doll, and her hug with al was real cute. tho i do think she needed that metaphorical kick in the ass abt al's thoughts when it comes to her leeching off his strength for protection. about that..

ALASTOR ACTUALLY CARES. HE CARES. (seemingly, at least). LIKE, HE ACTUALLY LEGITIMATELY, NON-FANONILY, GIVES A DAMN ABT THE HOTEL. HE WENT OUT OF THE WAY TO PROTECT THE PLACE AND TOLD MIMZY TO LEAVE IF SHE DIDN'T COME FOR REDEMPTION. MAYBE ITS IN HIS OWN WEIRD-GUARDED-PETTY WAY BUT FUCK FUCK HOOOLLLYY FUCK ALASTOR CARES

and one more thing b4 i move onto ep 6, i've already seen some ppl comparing what al did to husk in the hall to angel and val's dynamic, and while i do agree the two are both trapped in unsavory deals (loser, baby literally confirms this) i don't think al's ANYWHERE near as bad as val. was what he did fucked up? oh, yes, definitely. but it really?? shouldn't be surprising??? al's in hell ‘n has all this status for a reason, so i was really just waitin for a moment like that to happen. however, it didn't do any lasting damage. at least i really wouldn't say so. most it did was scare the shit out of husk for a minute, nowhere close to what val does to angel on the daily (see: episode 6). tho im willing to admit i might be lookin thru rose colored glasses bc i love al as a character. my opinion might change when/if the actual conditions of al and husks deal are revealed, but as of rn, i think al acted as he did there bc husk attacked a reeeally sensitive subject. he would've just been the petty bitch he always is if husk said like.. anythin else. oh and uhh yeah im abt 85% sure he and lilith have SOMETHING goin on. idk who the hell else would be powerful enough to have alastor on a leash

..oh yeah, lastly, lucifer was cool :] silly silly guy (with lotsa trauma) that hit me right in the daddy issues. funny tho, i rlly dont have much to say abt the guy despite the ep literally being focused on him. his song with charile was spectacular though, i need to listen to it on its own immediately

first off. vaggie = fallen angel theorists, i would like to bow down and apologize for ever doubting you. i was one of the skeptics, i really was, but the show did it in a way that (albeit rushed, but what hasn't been so far?, thaaanks, 8-episode limit..) made it seem believable, with assdam calling her out for it..

but putting adam aside, uh, lute?? maam?? holy fuck, step on me??? please???? i mean uh. sick character design yk ahah ^^

whats her name.. emily? the younger seraphim girl, i liked her, she was a cutie. she really did just seem like heavens version of charlie. and the older seraphim woman i (expectedly) have mixed feelings abt. i feel like all would've be great it adam got outta her damn ear cause she might've actually be down to try the hotel with em gone.. angel was doing so well

speaking of angel, ANGEL!! oh lookit that character development, charlie's gonna be so fuckn proud!!! also, CHERRI!!!! saw someone else say cherris the devil on angels shoulder while husks the (heh) angel, and i have to say i agree. they both want the best for him, they just have different ways of goin about it.

unsurprisingly, fuck Valentino. although i did notice he was wearing a dress today, so. (through gritted teeth) slay.

Killing Family Members. idk soemthing in the way that in the original timeline, their common ideals of protecting each other were twisted to the point where yuzuha kills taiju to protect hakkai and hakkai takes the blame to protect yuzuha, thus ending up leading Black Dragons like his big brother... its about the inescapable cycle of violence and corruption... so yea! i like the shiba siblings they're up there, especially yuzuha i could talk about yuzuha and the 'desire to protect -> motivation to kill' for a long time but thats a tale for another day

i'm not gonna lie i didn't bother watching mid 90s until my brother made me coz i thought it was gonna be some plotless indie movie abt nothing but erm. okay. that was incredibly heartbreaking. i am so sad for that child. first of all, look how fucking small he is 😭😭😭

this shot made me so sick to my stomach solely bcoz of the size comparison. THATS A BABYYYYYY 😭😭😭 and the ending?? i literally thought it was just beginning to wrap up and then the credits roll. i said "that's it?!" idk i did not feel more 'at peace' or w/e abt the trauma stevie experienced . dont get me wrong it's not a bad movie like the soundtrack was banger after banger i'm just ...ALSO did fuckshit not get arrested??? he was driving while severely intoxicated and crashed w multiple ppl involved including a very young minor child. why is he not in jail??? if i was stevie's mama he'd be hanged drawn and quartered in the town square ☝️😭 expeditiously i say. how DARE yall put my child in that situation. ANY of those situations!!! but stevie's mama didn't seem very engaged w her children's lives in the first place ... couldn't have been me tho. but yeah as for the ending in general i thought it was gonna have a stronger conclusion as to like... how easily children get taken advantage of and led down dangerous/difficult paths especially if they have a poor home life/support system, and maybe how just one kind, attentive person (i.e ray) can save a life in ways that doesnt necessarily require any superhero acts. the scene of stevie and ray in the shop while ray is setting up his new skateboard ? oh my god. so endearing. so comforting. i wanted more scenes like that but instead at the end im left wondering?? is stevie ever gonna learn to cope with intense emotions in ways that dont evoke self harm? was he truly inspired by rays ambition and drive and decided to follow in his steps rather than fuckshit for whom it is astoundingly unclear if he was punished literally or narratively and learned from his mistakes? not to mention the statutory rape that occured at the party was never actually condemned iirc aside from the fleeting 3 seconds of outrage from the mother but i get it cld be somewhat of a testament to how poorly understood male sexual abuse/assault is and was at the time. but fuckshit and his drunk driving that almost killed stevie? i dont get that. why was there no outrage or condemnation coz upon seeing fuckshit and the others in the hospital waiting room the mother seems to forgive them instantly. huh?! that easily?! and the orange juice from the brother? im sawry but go fuck urself.. that is not redemption enough for me to be like "oh yay you'll definitely stop abusing him now" coz in my experience with abuse, the anger and hostility eventually rears its ugly head back around even if they're genuinely remorseful bc the root of the issue has not been addressed. and maybe the ending was trying to say smth abt stevie falling in love with idealization and the sense of camaraderie he found with these other skaters despite the slippery slope that is gaining validation/acceptance at any and all costs. but that commentary seemed to vanish in the hospital coz what i kinda got was "yeah but this shit is still dope asf" ?? like sure but i dont think we were arguing that. skateboarding could be and is a really great outlet for stevie but i just dont feel that satisfied w the ending. is his mother gonna be more engaged in his life? is that jackass brother actually gonna change his ways so he can start protecting and nurturing stevie like he should rather than bullying and assaulting him? even so, why must it take a near death experience when all stevie has done is crave his love? ugh. just breaks my heart. and did fuckshit even have a wakeup call? does stevie fully understand that violence is not inherent to him? idk. i think it really needed another 15 minutes but, hey, LA in a pretty filter. whats not to love

Another day another post including c!Wilbur in big bad manipulators list with c!Dream and c!Quackity and i go "huh, is he tho?"

Like genuienly i would want to know, bc to me at least all like c!Wilburs "attempts at manipulation" were like.. blandly obvious and not that well executed?

Not enough to secure him the position of a Big Bad Manipulator Who had an Overarching Big Plan Before This Specific Interaction and Knows What He's Doing.

Bc most ppl who call Wilbur a manipulator point to this quote here

“Tommy, literally have you not noticed? Everyone who’s claiming to be on our side, they’re lying to us! Tubbo?! He’s lying to you man! He would drop us at the second he realises we’re not in the lead anymore!”

But like... this is like clearly c!Wilbur having a paranoid breakdown and unloading all the stress fear and worries that got progressively worse during pogtopia to c!Tommy. c!Tommy def didn't have tools to handle that and like shoudnt be expexted to but its not manipulative?? Of c!Wilbur?? At all??

Like the only two instances that i remember that like can be called manipulative is maybe this??

Okay so I may have another perspective than most on the "Then let's be the bad guys" scene because, as I've said before, I have paranoid thoughts, so, for me, it's much much easier to put myself in Wilbur's shoes in that moment.

So, as far as I remember in Pogtopia, I would coin Wilbur's behaviour as persuasive. He was trying to persuade Tommy to his side, something that Tommy was free to ignore and not accept. Manipulation and persuasion are very tricky to tell apart, because it's two things that are very similar, and you can't tell them apart that easily. You know how all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares? Same thing here. All manipulation is persuasive, but not all persuasion is manipulative. There is a fine line between the two.

I googled it before I wanted to respond to this ask, but from what I gathered, you can tell persuasion from manipulation by these factors: coercion, withholding of truth and intention.

I want to compare Wilbur's case with our most blatant example of manipulation, Dream. Especially since it's centered on the same character, Tommy:

Coercion. The Dictionary defines the term "coercion" as "the use of force to persuade someone to do something that they are unwilling to do". I do not remember any moment in Pogtopia where Tommy was forced to act against what he wanted to do. The way he spoke to Tommy was always open to Tommy rejecting his ideas, which happened quite a lot. It's another thing if later, Tommy, of his own volition, agreed to what Wilbur wanted, like blowing up Manberg at the Festival.

Dream, on the other hand, we see it a lot in Exile. The threats to Tommy's life. The hitting. He was forcing Tommy to stay in Logsted and give up his gear. That's one box ticked for Dream, zero for Wilbur so far.

Withholding of truth. Here I am as stumped as you are. I want someone, who thinks that the "Then let's be the bad guys" scene is manipulative, to tell me where Wilbur is withholding the truth. The President line? this one? [“Tommyinnit, you’re scared that people are gonna think differently of you. Tommy, when I said you’re never gonna be president, you gotta understand, that wasn’t a challenge, that’s true. You’re never gonna be president, Tommy. And I can hear it in your voice, you’re trying sound like you know what you’re doing, so that you can prove me wrong. Tommy, none of us know what we’re doing. We’re fucked, we were fucked the minute we were thrown out.” - (Wilbur’s video Am I the Villain?: 19:39)] or these? [“That guy Tubbo? You know? We love Tubbo… but he’s not on our side, is he? Let’s be honest. We act like he is, like, everyone’s always how like, oh it’s crazy how everyone’s against Schlatt.” - (Wilbur’s who are you go away: 1:12:57, 8th Oct)], [“Everyone’s always saying how like, oh it’s crazy how everyone’s against Schlatt. No one’s against Schlatt. Everyone’s pulling the biggest ruse on us. Literally, they’ve got us all by the fucking scruff of our necks.” - (Wilbur’s video Am I the Villain?: 17:59)], [“Tubbo’s like, ‘I’ll be your spy!’. And then we’ve got like Fundy who’s like saying to everyone’s twitch chats that he’s gonna revolt against us. And you’ve got Eret giving us fucking potatoes, that say fucking ‘I’m gonna be friends with you’. It’s bullshit! It’s all bullshit!” - (Wilbur’s video Am I the Villain?: 18:09)] Honestly someone tell me where Wilbur is withholding the truth here. I do not see it. He's just stating his opinion. I am someone who was around in Season 1, I watched Wilbur's POV only and I swear I thought too that Tubbo was a double agent for Manberg. I was sure of it. This is just Wilbur laying out his reasons to be paranoid and things he considers as true and his own opinions on matters. Opinions are not lies or truths. Telling Tommy that he will never be President, in his opinion, isn't a lie or the truth. It's just an opinion.

Meanwhile over in Dream's camp... Dream did withhold the truth. He lied about Tubbo's Compass, he lied about the Invitations, all of this he did to get Tommy to his lowest, to make him think that he is his only friend. This is the second box ticked for Dream, still none for Wilbur.

Intention. Here I need to talk about what paranoia is. Paranoia, to me, is a way of thinking fueled by fear. Wilbur's paranoia started because of the Final Control Room. Eret's betrayal deeply affected him, we can see it in quotes like this: [“Anyone caught in the crossfire is caught in the crossfire. That’s how it goes, you know? Eret especially, he is the most clear, the most clear cut traitor of them all. He was a traitor from the very get go. I have no, I have no remorse offing Eret.” - (Wilbur’s who are you go away: 1:41:22, 8th Oct)] Wilbur's paranoia started from a betrayal, therefore, Wilbur's paranoia is centered on people backstabbing him. Of course he would start spiraling into a rant about how everyone is out to get him. Especially after believing his own son betrayed him. So, why tell that to Tommy? Simple, really. I personally do it, too: he was reaching out for support. When I have doubt about my train of thought, I go to someone I trust, and they help me by walking me through it, to figure out if my thinking was rational or if it was paranoia. I think this is what he was trying to do with Tommy, because he trusted Tommy, but also it was an attempt of keeping him safe. I have talked before in my Eight analysis that Wilbur is a naturally protective person. I think Wilbur was attempting in part to shield Tommy from another shock from betrayal, attempt which didn't get across to Tommy. Tommy was and is a teenager and even back then he had his own worries. He just didn't have the resources to help Wilbur, or even understand what he was going through, and he can't be blamed, and while the scene may have been scary for him, I do not think Wilbur had malicious intent with it.

Meanwhile, Dream had malicious intent. He did what he did in an attempt to isolate Tommy, to make him feel alone, so he could swoop in and mold him into thinking he was his friend. This ticks off the last box, Dream was manipulating Tommy, while Wilbur was trying to be persuasive.

While I agree that Wilbur is dipping into manipulative territory with the stone bit, I would say that doesn't make him stand in the line-up of manipulators alongside Dream or Quackity. I do agree however that he is a big persuader and his power lies in how he uses words to convince others to agree with him and join him on a cause (as discussed above, this is not necessarily manipulation). danny phantom episode 4-7 Thoughts: (under a readmore because, these got kinda long!)

-the outfit danny had to buy for dash's party. CLASSIC 2000S i cannot stop laughing. And also showing up to the party and everyone is dressed like the trio is hilarious. and further proof that everyone looks good dressed goth.

-dash has a closet full of cute lil bear plushies?? LOVE that. adorable. also his response to danny trashing his room fighting a ghost was SO valid if somone BROKE MY BED IN HALF ID BE PISSED TOO.

-technus being like 'oh smart, u should be a tutor!' then later being like 'forget tutor, be a teacher!' :) supportive king <3 I also really like his upgraded suit/design. AND SPOCK CAMEO??? HELLO??

-the music in this show is super. its so funky. I looked it up and the guy who does it, guy moon (awesome name) also did music for other cartoons like fairly odd parents, barnyard, chalkzone, billy & mandy, AND some actual movies like FIGHT CLUB??? the whiplash I got from reading that)

-sam being rich explains a lot about her, actually.

-I know the moral of the episode was supposed to be 'dont ditch your friends for popular people/spend a lot of money on clothes that arent You to Fit In'. but tbh. it wouldve been easy for danny to have been like 'well, okay, ill come but only if my friends can!' but I get. that hes 14. so. not a lot to say there.

-BOX GHOST IS BACK!!!!! also, danny sitting up and wearing the dress/wig/makeup. umm thats how I dress everyday LMFAO. unironically me. (hate the jokes that boil down to 'haha funney man in dress' tho. but this is a look)

-jazz being protective of her brother once again being like NOOO YOU GUYS BETTER NOT STAKE OUT HIS (actually haunted) LOCKER!! shes aware of how people perceive him and she wants to help :( which is also probably why she told dash to invite him to that party even tho she had no interest in going!! she wants to help him out :(

-gotta say im with tucker on the whole 'should danny use his powers to get back at bullies' debate. 100% yes. let him teach kids to fight back. making dash throw his food at paulina out of the blue? no. but when hes actually about to pick on someone? yeah! for self defense? YEAH! if dash and his friends just threw food at him, I think rather than. idk doing sneaky shit with frogs he couldve just threw it back and not pulled punches if they tried to fight. I kNOOWWW its a kids show so they are like 'if u fight back ur just as bad!! violence bad!!' but. theyre HIS POWERS. WHO CARES.

-like my only gripe is that dash really isnt LEARNING ANYTHING WHEN DANNY GETS BACK AT HIM IN THE MOST PETTY INDIRECT WAYS. whatever they had to add a bully psa episode I guess. I hate it and I hate the way cartoons usually handle it because these methods simply Do Not Work. 'aND YouRE USinG YOur poWErs FOR EVill???!' this is Not Evil. even when poindexter takes dannys body, theyre only being 'nice' bc hes stealing soda for them!! bitches deserve what they get (nothing too brutal bc theyre high schoolers but damn, if they pick on danny he doesnt need to be the 'bigger person' he needs to start biting people)

-SAM TRYING TO SMUGGLE FROGS OUT OF THE BIO LAB?? girl in middle school when we had to dissect frogs we could opt out, also, they came to us already dead and preserved...

-sidney's lingo and the fact hes in black and white is sending me. also, danny is a ghost celebrity apparently for being a halfa?? ok. thats interesting to know

-the DENTIST BEING EXCITED ABOUT THE COTTON CANDY FLOOD IS THE FUNNIEST THING SO FAR.

-I LOOOVE the trope of 'wishes gone wrong'. not crazy about the stereotypical genie, or the use of the dreamcatcher looking design. (also, I KNOW theyre scientists but the way theyre handling a cold...are the fentons ANTIVAX)

-the genie. she. whitewished paulina. JKASDFHKJ. (the ghost literally just being hello kitty???? im dying) 'why do i feel that im special and wonderful? because I AM! <3' paulina ilu self worth queen. felt bad for her also getting possessed by (2) boys later who were arguing INSIDE HER. WTF.

-imagine being the guy trapped in his now flying car. he thought danny and tucker were HALUCINATIONS. imagine being trapped in a flying car with two, what you think are imaginary arguing 14 year olds convinced ur gonna die. i WOULD say this dude is gonna need so much therapy, but he seemed totally fine and excited when they landed (I would be happy too if a chicken was on my head. chickens rule) stoner rights

-sam's bat slippers??? iconic. SO cute.

-I think desiree's backstory is so :( do all ghosts have messed up sad backstories?? poindexter's was sad too...cannot imagine box ghost has any kind of fucked up backstory. but what if. his mom got pushed off cliffs by boxes...........a la cruella... anyway her 'no man may lay a hand on me' iconic. ilu

-I know danny has no concept of how much bras cost but my god dont attack tucker with some girls bra. those are so expensive.

-its really. well its not a GOOD THING he went into the portal and got fucked up, but its good danny was the one to do it rather than sam or tucker. because even tho he was being influenced by desiree and kept getting more malicious and it prob wasnt 100% him...he sucked as a ghost like most the people he 'pranked' were innocent ppl just Chillin and he didnt want to help anyone at all. I think danny is the most responsible out of them but also, hes 14 and shouldnt HAVE to feel obligated to fight every ghost. hes a good kid and wants to, but I also feel like he feels like...responsible for the portal turning on?? because his parents did give it up,, but it was an accident and not his fault (if anything, why was the on switch on the inside. why was it that easy. why was there no safety measures. that seems like smth OSHA needs to hear about). like thats my son. hes a good boy. and hes never done anything wrong in his life, ever. if anyone hurts him im killing everyone in this room and then myself. etc.

-danny's curfew is 10PM????? DUDE. when I was 14...shit I couldn't be out that late, I had to be back at like, 8 at the latest, and my parents had to know exactly where and who I was going with, AND i had to call/text them regularly...is this a case of my parents being overbearing, or the fentons sucking??? the only time i could EVER be out that late was if I was at an overnight sleepover or smth...

-the vultures have lil fezes. why do they have fezes...theyre so fuckin funny 'ask him for directions' 'I KNOW WHERE IM GOING' these ghost vultures are my new grandpas. pick them up, put them in the adopt box.

-'I wonder why those guys were trying to waste dad!' THEYRE GHOSTS. YOUR DAD HUNTS GHOSTS. why is that not a conclusion you'd immediately jump to??

-I thought vlad's 'little badger' nickname for danny came from the football mascot of the packers, but google says they have NO MASCOT?? so now I'm like?? is it because his hair is sometimes black and sometimes white?? I hate to give him props but thats a PERFECT NICKNAME. theyre also tiny and vicious!

-why did I get so excited that Skulker is back!! its been like. 2-3 eps LMAO. AND THE DAIRY KING. ICONIC I LOVE HIM. hes the nicest guy ever :) more nice ghosts please. danny cannot be fighting alone everytime with no ghost buds like every ghost being hostile sucks :(

-mr. fenton knew vlad was controlling him, but a few episodes ago he had no clue danny was doing the same thing...is it something about how malicious the ghost is?? he just seemed to think his memory had gaps the first time, this time he was INSTANTLY LIKE 'GHOST'. then again in this ep when danny did it again he was just slightly confused but not immediately freaking out like he did with vlad possessing him!!

-'my parents will accept ME NO MATTER WHAT' so. so why haven't you come out to them yet, danny?? if you really think that?? if theres no harm, and you're sure??? if vlad is a real problem, wouldnt that make dealing with him easier, to expose him???? SO WHY HAVENT YOU COME OUT YET?? COULD IT BE,, MAYBE YOU HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT WHETHER YOUR PARENTS ACTUALLY WILL ACCEPT YOU??? 🤔 ... 🏳‍🌈 I get why people say He Is Trans. I totally totally get u danny.

-sorta unrelated, but it just occurred to me in one of these eps they go to casper HIGH not casper middle school??? theyre 14?? dont highschools usually do ages 15-18? (I didnt go to hs so I might be wrong, if I am ignore this...) freshmen are usually 14-15, could just be a case of them not turning 15 yet but they will sometime in the school year (I say they because tucker said he was 14 too)? I know the show has 3 seasons, so by the end of it will they be older? thatd be neat but usually cartoon characters stay the same age...I love shows where you can see the characters age and grow up, though...three seasons seems like a long time to spend on like, 1 year...
