happy birthday!!! :D I absolutely love your work, and have been trying to get better at thanking those who make the content I enjoy this year, so heres an attempt at that that! :]

I discovered the bright sessions last year, listened through it in way too short of a time, and have been listening to everything I can find with your name on it since (I've been using it as a sort of "seal of approval" and its led me to nothing but amazing stories). Seeing someone who's been in the industry for so long and who's so passionate about it is very inspiring, so thank you so much for doing what you do and bringing these stories into the world! :D

#HE IS THE DUMBEST MAN I ALIVE AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH #911 #911 spoilers #the ally to 'i'm bi' pipeline is soooooo real #the way I had an absolutely visceral reaction to this entire scene #not because of the 'pretending to just be hanging out bc your friend stumbles upon you' thing #but just because - like - the experience of being on your first bi date #the thing of tommy being like 'everyone thinks we're just two guys hanging out'#i remember my first date with a girl sO vividly #and when I went up to the bar to order our drinks I definitely was looking around being like 'does everyone know we're on a date'#'not just hanging out'#in a nervous AND excited way!#she was an accountant at disney lol #and I went to a hozier concert afterwards #(I'm one of those people who always planned something after first date drinks bc Anxiety)#so it was a very LA date lol #and the whole night it was like #!!!!!! I found a ref I really liked and thought that I had to depict them both like that 🥹 (I decided to only keep Vivia as a ship name because I remember it best and otherwise it was too long and on a very arbitrary measure I decided that their hearts for their ship would be ❤️💜 because in my hc Vipin mostly wears his red hoodie and Olivia has a purple strand of hair and enjoys the colour)

June 4th, 1920

My dear Mr. Chambers,

Apologies first and foremost, or taking such a godawful-ly long time to return to return your letter of the fourteenth of April. Once again, you prove yourself to be an endlessly thoughtful and fastidious person. I feel in utter shambles next to you so often. But with a bright new shining decade at our disposal, I’m determined to be more organized.

An auspicious start, isn’t it? Diving fully into the new decade halfway through its first year. But I’m only just back from my post-war jaunt around the globe—a trip well-earned, I’d say—and I’ve purchased an absolutely absurd estate on Long Island. More rooms and more land than I know what to do with, but I’m sure I’ll find ways of filling it all. After so many years being a respectable, responsible middle aged man, I think I’m due for some foolishness.

To kick it all off—my triumphant return home, the sparkling nineteen-twenties, my extravagant purchase—I’ve decided to throw the party of this, and any, season. On June 21st, I’ll be hosting an enormous fête for the summer solstice, an occasion I’ve never given much thought to, but which is celebrated all around the world with great aplomb. There will be dancing and eating and libations, both legal and otherwise, and I do think it will be a rollicking good time.

I would like to have you there. In truth, I’m not certain who will be on the guest list. It’s tricky, isn’t it? Just as you predicted, making and maintaining connection over the decades when we appear the way we do is quite difficult. And with the war and being away for so long after, my social circles have dwindled severely. I’m thinking of inviting my brothers and sister for God’s sake, so please come save my poor dulled soul.

I know we haven’t seen each other in some time, but there would be something poetic, I think, in meeting again at the halfway point of the year. I had toyed with the idea of hosting a New Year’s Eve party instead, but the holiday is now so wrapped up in time spent—

Bridgewater characters: rainbow pencil portrait series 🌈🫶

All of the portraits follow my headcanons, Olivia has more piercings than before as I’m following the hc of the wonderful @stillwinchester 🫶

I have discovered a new drawing method I’m particularly loving: the rainbow coloured pencil! And it has been so so so much fun trying it out I’m absolutely loving it!!

I just wanted to add that for the Legend Tripper’s crown, I got inspired by what I learnt in my translation class at uni: women in the 19th century used wear that kind of things called a “bridal crown” which were made out of orange tree flowers and buds, which was very typical to get married and I felt like it gave her a mesmerising aspect which was very much welcomed and to give her an out of time side which truly fits with her character too!

Hi @thelaurenshippen and @thebrightsessions !!

I first started listening to "The Bright Sessions" in 2020. During lockdown I got really into audio dramas and after it's been sitting on my list for some time I decided to finally start it. And I haven't stopped listening to it since. "The Bright Sessions" became my favorite podcast ever and I couldn't even tell how many times I listened to it all. It got a special part in my heart.

I didn't like Oliver at first. Didn't pay much attention to him in "The Am Archives" and honestly I was kinda annoyed when he showed up in "The College Tapes". That was until episode 714. When I heard him say "Can you stay?" I couldn't stop thinking about it for the whole next day. In the following week I had this episode on loop. Right now, I can basically quote it all the way through. These three words completely changed my view on Oliver and from that point on he became one of my favorite characters ever, in all kinds of media. Him and Mark got me back into reading, as well, as writing fanfiction which I am so utterly grateful because since lockdown I struggled a lot with reading and writing. I've got absolutely obsessed with Mark and Oliver to the point everyone around me knows who they are. It's been years since I got so attached to a character or a ship and I'm so happy it happened to be them.

It's my birthday this week. Last year I decided that I'm going to get my next tattoo as a gift to myself and when I was talking with my sister about my future tattoo plans I said I really want to get something related to TBS but I don't really have any idea. So when she suggested a quote I knew exactly what I'm gonna get. So I did. I got three words that had such a impact on my life even though they aren't something you'd expect to do so. This quote means so much to me and I'm so incredibly happy and proud of this tattoo. This podcast means so much to me and I'll forever be grateful that it exists. So thank you Lauren and thank you to the whole cast and crew for creating something so incredible 💜

hey!!! for the first hundred or so episodes, I did try to make sure that someone dropping in during a random episode wouldn't be too lost. but now that we're staring down our 200th episode, this has become more difficult!

it is a serialized story, so starting from the first episode is the way the story is meant to be consumed!! a lot of the episodes function just fine as standalone missives from the road, but you're not going to get the full story starting anywhere. hope that's helpful!

okay, look, sometimes I forget that when I do things on tumblr people can actually see it and I truly didn't think that people would notice this account posting! I'm so sorry for making it seem like maybe there was news coming! there is no news!

for those of you that don't know, I offer a bunch of free resources about how to make audio drama (this relates, I promise) and after a conversation in the WGA Audio Alliance discord (which you should join if you're at all interested in making your own stuff!), I decided to make a quick little tumblr starter guide and in doing so, I was looking through all the various tumblrs I run and updating them and I realized that @bridgewaterpodcast didn't have a pinned post that made all the information easily accessible and well. here we are. this post happening now is a result of me truly slacking on maintenance on that blog. but thank you all so much for your enthusiasm! I love you bridgies!

What if he’d killed me?

I mean it, Harry. What if I hadn’t been fast enough, or what if he’d been able to truly catch me by surprise. What if he’d gotten the upper hand and he’d killed me?

It isn’t…it isn’t hard. Or— well, it isn’t easy. But the gap between keeping the upper hand in a fight and the other person getting it is razor thin. The tables can turn in a millisecond. All it takes is one mistake, or moving the tiniest bit too slow, or slackening your grip by an inch. I know this. You know this. You watched it happen.

I hadn’t even planned on—I didn’t have a grand escape plan. And I know you didn’t, you were so infuriatingly calm when they loaded us into that van and told us we were being transferred to god knows where. And of course now I know why you were calm, but at the time, I thought you were just trying to imagine you were somewhere else. But I wasn’t, I was stuck in the present, terrified of where we were headed, scared of how dark the world was around me, the further we got from civilization. I half thought we were being taken to the woods to be shot.

But I still didn’t have a plan. It was just…when we got that flat tire and he had to open the back to get the spare, I saw a window and—

Part of me thought it would be good just to run. Leave you behind and run into the pitch black forest. But I couldn’t— I couldn’t do that, especially not when you were shouting at me to stop, but I thought you were shouting at him, because he’d gotten his arm around my neck and I didn’t think that dragging him to the ground like that would’ve—I didn’t realize how close we were to the bumper, how little it takes to crack someone’s neck at just the wrong angle.

It wasn’t lucky. That’s not—it was terrible. But then it was done, just like that, and it could’ve happened just as quick with Junior at the house.

Would you mourn me? We’re not in the same place anymore, no longer each other’s sole conversational companion, so would me being dead and gone make a difference to you? Would you think about all the things you never said, never did, and have regrets? Or would you be relieved that you didn’t have to think about any of it anymore. That you would never have to make the choice of how to behave toward me, ever again.

I can’t think about the other side of this conversation. I find myself furious at imagining what your reaction would be to my death—to coming home and finding my body in the front hall—because I can’t bear to turn that question on myself.

Junior…Billings, I don’t know what you would want me to call you. But, if you’re listening, I know what I want to ask. Not that you—you don’t owe me shit, obviously. I don’t know how long you’ve been listening to me, what you know about me, but I can’t imagine much—if any of it—has made you more sympathetic to me.

But if I could ask for one thing, it would be to leave Harry out of this. If we meet again…I won’t hold it against you if you still want to kill me and succeed this time.
