Genuine question: Why do you ship Radiobelle? I've seen a lot of people doing it, and I'm curious as to what the appeal is!

The real question is, why do people ship anything? Why do we all see two or sometimes more characters interact with each other and imagine how cool it would be if they both had deep-seated romantic feelings for the other?

Answer: cuz we can!😌

Idk about the rest of you, but I don’t exactly have much control over what I ship and don’t ship😅 I just see the characters together and my brain randomly decides either “yes I want them to make out” or “nooo I don’t really see it”. (I am in no way a pro shipper though cuz no)

But as for Radiobelle specifically, there’s just something about them that my silly fangirl heart can’t resist. While I am fairly new to the HH fandom, I did watch the pilot around the time it came out and a small part of me did ship them back then. But I never really allowed myself to indulge in it and I just wasn’t that into the show anyway so I didn’t bother. Now, after actually watching the episodes and engaging in fandom content, I finally embraced the cringe to the full extent and let myself be consumed by the radio demon and his charming demon belle! :P

Now I’m aware that the majority of people don’t like Radiobelle, or even full-on hate it for multiple reasons. Sure, whatever. You don’t have to like every ship, nor does anyone expect you to! I can understand it’s not for everybody. The main thing that bugs me, though, is when people try to start arguments about why it’ll never be canon and why you shouldn’t ship it. “Charlie is with Vaggie and Alastor is aro/ace!” People ship Alastor with a multitude of other characters and nobody bats an eye,, why is it only when you see him being drawn with Charlie that you lose your shit and get offended about his sexuality being ‘erased’? (That’s a topic for a whole other post tbh). And people can ship Charlie with other people. Hell, they DO! I’ve seen numerous art of her and other characters.

Then there’s also the “Alastor thinks of her as his daughter!” See, I want everybody to actually watch episode 5 again and come back to me on this. No, he fucking does not. The only reason he was saying any of that was to get under Lucifer’s skin. That’s it. That was his whole intention. He doesn’t like Lucifer and wanted to rub it in his face that he has been a lousy father to his daughter, in comparison to all the ways he has helped her, with the hotel and whatever else.

Phew, now that I’ve gotten that out of the way! Onto why Radiobelle has stolen my heart!

I just love their dynamic and it all really started with the pilot. Alastor—this mysterious force of nature who can kill anyone and anything, is capable of unimaginable power and torture—randomly showing up on the doorstep of a hotel to help out. And literally no one else trusts him (reasonably so) but Charlie, the good-hearted soul she is, lets him in. She’s cautious, of course, but she’s giving him the chance to do some good because that’s what her dream is all about!

Now while I do wish they had some more interactions in the actual show, what we have so far is scrumptious✨ Alastor may have been giving an abundance of praise to Charlie to piss off her dad, but I don’t think he was lying. Deep down I’m sure he is enjoying the time they’ve spent together—even if he doesn’t fully realize it. Charlie defends Al’s sadistic behavior to her dad because he was doing it to defend the hotel (and bc he’s a cocky mf lol but it’s endearing to her in a way).

Oh and don’t even get me STARTED on episode 7 bro,, omfg the content!! The way he’s extra touchy with her even after they’ve made their deal. Her being nervous and stressed out but he encourages her anyway and verbally admits that he had faith in her the whole time. Him giving her his microphone—which is likely the main source of his power as shown in episode 8 (where he let her use his mic AGAIN!!!) which just shows how much he actually trusts her,, UGH it’s just 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 give me more!!

Now, do I expect Radiobelle to become canon? No. Would it be fucking awesome if it did? Oh absolutely. But I know it won’t, and I don’t care! I’m having the time of my life shipping these two hell-dwelling idiots and I don’t care what anyone says about it!😋

January's Set of Fan Art/Doodles

OH GOD I ALMOST FORGOT TO POST THIS!! Good thing I just remembered before it was too late. I didn't get to draw and post this the day of but at least I got to post it before January ends.

I also tried to match the art style just like with other characters from other shows and stuff.

The set of Kindergarten fan doodles took forever to finish. It also felt forever getting back into the game. Idk why I put it off for so long I loved the game so much back in 9th grade.

Shit I failed to change the Hexley twin's sleeves back to long hhh

Characters from my January interests (besides Willow I just wanted to draw him). 4 characters I drew because of reactions, 3 because I got into them myself, and Alastor for both and because I'm also watching Hazbin Hotel with my parents and sister. Also I miss Geologist Randy, ngl. 🥲 And I didn't even watch 101DS yet I'm watching the 90s show first and there's like 65 episodes 💀 AND THE SECOND MOVIE AFTER 😭 idek if they matter for 101DS

I just felt like drawing them. Probably my two most favorite villains of WC. They were also the two most heart broken. Huh.

Just a quick draw of Hollyleaf (or Hollypaw cause of no scars). Nothing much to say on it I just drew her, just because.

There was gonna be another page of fan doodles but my tablet died and I don't think I'll have enough time to finish it when it's charged before midnight (my fault for putting it off tbh). It's ultimately a small thing, and I consider it more of a pet peeve than anything actually based in criticism, but one of my favorite things to see is seeing how others interpret the deadly seven sins. ever since that dante's inferno game released like a decade or so ago, seeing people's designs of what the concepts would represent in a physical form is so fucking awesome to me and gives me so much inspiration.

the problem comes when i actually go and try to SEARCH for designs of them. idk about on other sites, but here on tumblr, the tag is just FILLED with hazbin hotel/helluva boss stuff. i know i could blacklist the words, but the thing is, i do want to see people's content and takes on the aforementioned series! but only when i want to; not when i'm looking for something else! if i blacklist the words too though, i wouldn't be able to see hh/hb stuff (and quite frankly, i don't want to constantly go into my settings just to add and delete blocked tags for a search i wanna do)

basically what i'm trying to say is that i wish viv gave a more original name to her designs of the seven deadly sins. maybe something like "the septet of hell" or something. idk tbh, i just wanted to be whiny and vent out my small annoyances with vivienne's series.

also, call me a weirdo but i'll always prefer the gluttony boss (cerberus) from the mentioned dante's inferno game compared to kesha bee. i like fucked-up gross things! what can i say?!

It's a valid complaint! If you were into demonology before Vivzie came on the scene or god forbid you want to work on your own thing involving demons, good luck getting any search results other than HH/HB. Andrealphus is a painful one just because the designs people used to make for him were so incredibly cool, and now they're all buried under incest Elsa peacock.

Horrible fucky Cerberus that looks like three andouillettes with mouths definitely beats sparkledog Kesha bee any day.

As a HH/HB fan, I have a confession about Stolitz: I fell out of the ship. I like some of the fanart, but at the same time...it irks me a bit? Idek. I just don't like it anymore. And the EPISODES. Oh God lemme just—

Seeing Stars was cute...but Helluva Boss ain't supposed to be cute: don't get me wrong, loved the Loona and Octavia interaction, but the whole episode lacked...something. (also I'm going to bring up the fact the the Harvest Moon Festival is actually bad, like fr...) tbh, I wanted to see more potential out of the latest episode than what we received. Like... not all HB fans want a Stolitz plot/drama/overturn for a majority of the series.

I, for one, don't want the Stolitz content yet. Well-written relationships/character growth is more important than forcing a toxic relationship upon us. Plus, it [Stolitz] doesn't have to be sexual!! It can work up to a better thing, or hell, I wouldn't oppose to them ending up as just friends, in the end! A bit of pining, but friends nonetheless. (watch the Stolitz stans come after me LMAO)

Plus: the childhood lovers thing in The Circus. It was...kinda weird? I watched it with my family, and they thought it was, like Seeing Stars, cute...but it just didn't fit. My dad said that it got a little weird after a few more minutes of the childhood flashback; which I understand completely! It made me feel weird too.

Overall...yeah I'm not enjoying this as much as I should LMAO

TL;DR: criticism against Stolitz, the episodes, etc., etc..

Hope this is okay (: love your critiques on HH and HB!! It's refreshing to see content addressing the flaws, problems, and more. (And I apologize on behalf of some of the fans that don't take criticism!)

All I can say is:

1. Your Dad has a good conscience.

The episode literally had Blitz taken from his home, being told to rob the royal family, and trying to use this to show them as “great childhood freind’s” to try to guilt trip you into. being ok with the show making “love” merch of said relationship current time showing the complete opposite of what the show is trying to say. Not questioning Stolas’s classism in the slightest and trying to show them as “end game” on top of it. Ew… :(

2. Falling out is completely understandable.

Ive seen people who like the fanon version, but then get turned off by the toxic fandom.

So understandable.

3. The problem isn’t really it being “cute”, but throwing itself off from the main story so much, and in such a out of touch way too.

(Just realized that the term “tone deaf” gives ableist vibes, so i’ll try not to use that from now on.)

4. Despite what the fandom says, it’s ok if you don’t enjoy it as much, its ok to not 100% like something that you enjoy.

5. They could have easily had them grow naturally. Instead, they used that one scene in “The Circus” as a substitute for chemistry in their relationship. They didn’t put the effort into actual chemistry, and barely, if not almost never hold said toxic relationship accountable or actually encourage change. It felt so forced, still does, especially for Seeing Stars.

So overall- completely understandable as to why you feel this way. Hope that you and your family had fun watching the show! 😄

I haven't properly posted anything on this website for a while now, but I decided to come back. because tumblr right now is the most peaceful website out there. I remember a few years ago when tumblr was constantly shit on because of it's users and if you used tumblr in any way you would get so much shit for it. I used to be one of those who hated tumblr back in the day. but now, since tumblr banned pornographic content back in 2018, every annoying person who used this website moved to twitter. now twitter is the internet's punching bag, and I couldn't be more glad.

I just love how calm it is here now.

AHHH I’M REALLY SAD ABOUT S2 ENDING TOO BUT NO DO NOT WORRY there are still 2 major arcs and 1 lighthearted arc left in the manga!! The weird broccoli is something that needs to be explored and yes we still have to know what’s up with ???%!! Though at Bone’s pace, these might not be enough episodes for a season 3, maybe they could add some fillers or adapt the extra comics from the manga – or make a movie out of it?? ALSO a new OVA was just announced with direction by the author and it looks like a hot spring episode so I’m really excited!!!

y/n and Changbin meet on the coldest day of winter, it’s literally freezing and the entire city is basically iced over.

y/n is the new producer at JYP and it just so happens that Changbin is asked to work with y/n on a project.

At first Changbin is really skeptical, y/n is this quiet, kind of scary looking person and he communicates through glaring and frowning instead of words.

Then Changbin starts to slowly get to know him and things change, he finds out that y/n isn’t rude or scary and they get pretty close throughout the time they are working on the project.

When they are no longer work colleagues and the project is complete, Changbin works up the courage to ask y/n out on a date.

They don’t officially date or anything for a while, they go out together on a couple dates and hang out, they spend lots of time together and it is very obvious they are both basically in love with each other.

y/n doesn’t try to hide his tattoos or anything, Changbin’s seen a few of them, the one on the side of his neck and the ones on his wrists and knuckles but he’s never seen the whole thing.

Then one day they’re sitting in Changbin’s studio and somehow y/n spills an entire thing of iced coffee on himself and he’s only wearing a long sleeved shirt.

Changbin has a spare shirt from dance practice so he goes to grab it and in the meantime y/n pulls his dirty shirt off.

Changbin finds the shirt in a drawer and turns around to give it to y/n and he just freezes.

y/n doesn’t even notice him staring, he takes the shirt offered to him and slips it on going back to whatever he was doing before while poor Changbin stares on in shocked silence. “Why are you staring at me like that?”

“You have so many tattoos.” Changbin mutters quietly.

y/n smiles slightly, “You don’t like them?”Changbin shakes his head quickly, he loves them, if he had wanted to kiss y/n before now he wants to jump the other man’s bones, he thinks they are hot and such a turn on.

y/n seems to understand as much and he goes out of his way after that to put them on display even though it’s still freezing outside.

Changbin isn’t complaining (at first), after a while he just finds himself staring at y/n’s tattoos, they aren’t even officially dating so he can’t just grab y/n’s arms and trace over the tattoos or ask the older to do anything to him.The whole thing leads to a lot of frustration on Changbin’s end and a lot of amusement on y/n’s.

“You know you can look at my tattoos if you want, you don’t need to look away every time I look in your general direction.”Changbin’s cheeks flare read but he hesitantly moves to sit closer to y/n and runs the tips of his fingers across one of the many tattoos.

“They’re so hot.” Changbin slaps a hand over his mouth as soon as the words leave it, y/n on the other hand finds this hilarious.

“Are they?” He is so close to Changbins face and his arm has moved to wrap around Changbin’s waist.Changbin remembers every thought he’s ever had about y/n’s hands and the tattoos and what he wants the older to do to him and he can see all the tattoos so close that it makes everything so much worse.

y/n’s smirk is enough to convince him to move towards the older and pull the other’s arm around his waist, he has no idea where the confidence comes from but at this point he has nothing to lose and he’s been fantasizing for way too long anyways.

Things end up so much better than he had every dreamed of and he has to concede that tattoos are the hottest thing ever, especially when they’re y/n’s and they stand out on white knuckles that hold Changbin’s hips down.

Hwang Hyunjin

Hyunjin loves tattoos, he thinks they're cool and the moment JYP lets him get a tattoo (I am not sure if he already has a tattoo tbh) he is getting a tattoo because tattoos are just so cool.

So why doesn't Hyunjin know that his boyfriend (of like 4 months) has enough tattoos to cover 90% of the skin on his right arm? Simple, answer.

y/n is an idol, he isn't aloud to show his tattoos on national television, and since a lot of his initial interactions with

Hyunjin had been backstage at music shows...

music shows = no tattoos being shown.

So let's go back to the beginning to get a clear picture

Hyunjin and y/n first meet at a music show backstage, Hyunjin has heard of y/n but he hasn't really seen pictures of the other that often and now he is face to face with probably the most attractive person he has met in a long time.

y/n is leaning against a wall in the hallway outside the bathroom in a beautifully tailored suit and Hyunjin, who is walking out of the bathroom, is completely enamored by this man that he might know the name of but can't be sure.

person walks past Hyunjin and y/n shoves his phone into his pocket talking happily to said person before they disappear down the hallway.

Detective Hyunjin mode = activated.

His detective work involves a quick google search to identify what group y/n is in and confirm his name, turns out he was right about the name and so he spends the next 2 hours of waiting before he has to preform just scrolling through pictures and tweets about y/n.

He resolves that day that he needs to talk to the other no matter what it takes, he just needs y/n's number.

His first plan is to recruit Jisung and Jeongin's help because they tend to find talking to new people easier and maybe he won't be as awkward if he talks to y/n with other people present.

This plan falls through very quickly because instead of helping all Jeongin and Jisung do is laugh at him.

He turns to his second (and last) plan.

Lee Minho is 2 months older than y/n, so maybe by some stroke of luck Minho knows y/n, or someone in his group, and Hyunjin can maybe convince Minho to help him start a conversation with the other.

Hyunjin is in luck, not only is Minho more empathetic about his hardships than Jisung and Jeongin but he just so happens to know y/n well enough to be able to walk up to him and strike up conversation.

Hyunjin follows Minho with gradually decreasing confidence. Sure he is going to get the chance to talk to y/n, which is what he wanted, but what the hell is he going to say?

Should he just ask for the others number?

Just introduce himself and maybe y/n will ask for his number? Maybe he can just turn around now and run away before this gets particularly embarrassing for him?

Maybe the floor underneath him will open up and swallow him whole because good lord y/n just smiled in his general direction and why are there so many people in this area at this specific time?

Turns out y/n wasn't smiling specifically at him, he was smiling more at Minho.

"This is Hyunjin, he wanted to tag along."

"Hey, I'm y/n, it's nice to meet you." Maybe his smile will kill Hyunjin before he remembers how to talk.

"uhh-hh, yes I know, I- uh, Hyunjin." God why was that so awkward someone save him, where did Minho walk off to? who is that? why did he take Minho away from him?

"Are you okay?"

"yeah, yeah, I am good." god he needed salvation right now.Basically, Hyunjin is awkward and nervous and he feels like the first meeting is a complete disaster and y/n will never talk to him again.

Somehow though y/n decided he isn't pitiful enough to ignore and walk away from, it takes a bit of prodding and joking on y/n's part for Hyunjin to relax a little and they hold a decent conversation. When Minho informs Hyunjin they have to head back y/n is typing his number into Hyunjin's phone and urging him to send a text whenever.

y/n and Hyunjin talk often after that, they meet again just a little over a week later backstage at a music show again and decided that they should take the risk and start dating.

They're moving a little quickly true, but, they can learn more about each other as time goes on.

Neither one of them is necessarily free at any one point in time, they see each other at a few events but their dating is limited to talking over the phone and basically texting all the time.

And then the day comes.

Hyunjin has the day off and y/n has wrapped up a photo shoot, the timing is perfect, the managers are okay with it and Hyunjin is buzzing with excitement because it's been almost 4 months and he is going to go to his boyfriend now.

They decide to meet at y/n's empty dorm just to be in each others presence.

So Hyunjin is standing outside the dorm door waiting for y/n to let him in and he is just shaking with happiness.

So when y/n opens the door with his hair a little messy and no make up on, Hyunjin's first instinct is to launch himself at the other and hug him as tightly as he can.

They might not have been able to see each other these last four months but that doesn't mean Hyunjin hasn't learned enough about the other to love him.

y/n only laughs and pulls him into the dorm hugging back with a soft smile on his face.

Hyunjin is so busy hugging y/n that he doesn't see the tattoos covering y/n's right arm.

He doesn't see them in fact until after he's been ushered into y/n's room and is about to head towards the cat laying under the window.

He turns around to ask y/n about the cat's name and then freezes because holy mother of all beings is that a tattoo sleeve?

"Yeah, is it a problem?"

"A problem? god no!" Hyunjin moves closer to war his fingers around y/n's arm and raise it so he can inspect the intricate designs.

"They look so cool, this just makes me want a tattoo even more." y/n laughs, "I can take you to get one." Hyunjin looks up with starry eyes.

"Management would kill, but I don't really care anymore."

"Maybe you should get it okayed before you do anything?"

"If they try to kill me you'll come riding in on a motorbike and wearing a leather jacket and save me." Hyunjin replies with a serious face.

y/n laughs, "That is just a stereotype, my mom would kill me if I got on a motorbike."So what did Hyunjin learn today?

He definitely wants a tattoo and wouldn't mind getting yelled at by management for getting one behind their back. He wants y/n to go with him because this man is an expert and if anyone (y/n included) disagrees then Hyunjin will be inclined to fight them.

y/n is 100% a mama's boy and Hyunjin is living for it (Another one of his life sources at this point in time is y/n's tattooed arm wrapped around his waist but he doesn't want to discuss those emotions just yet).

Yang Jeongin (I.N)

So y/n’s a barista at a cafe and that is how Jeongin meets him first, it is late summer, the uniform for the cafe workers is a button down white shirt so even though it is 35 degrees (Celsius) out Jeongin never sees y/n in anything but his work uniform which is a long sleeve button down white shirt.

After 2 months of (not really) subtle crushing Jeongin asks y/n for his phone number, they chat for a few days and then go on their first date in early October.

The date is a sweet, cliche outing, Jeongin is a blushing mess 90% of the time and y/n treats him with so much care. Dates aren’t that frequent after the first one but just before winter Jeongin and y/n make it official.

At this point it is so cold that there is never a moment for Jeongin to see y/n without a coat, hoodie or long sleeved shirt, so he lives a life of blissful ignorance for almost a month.

And then one day he is sitting at the counter in the cafe, y/n is just finishing his shift and Jeongin is waiting for him.

The manager walks by and tells y/n to clean up before he hands over to the next person and so y/n moves to the sink and rolls up his sleeves.

Jeongin isn’t really paying attention, he’s a little focused on his phone, but then he looks up.

😯 = Yang Jeongin when he saw y/n’s tattoos.

“Your face literally just derailed.”

“I didn’t know you had tattoos.”

“Well you didn’t really ever get a chance to see them.” Silence.

“I am sorry I probably should have told you before this.”Jeongin doesn’t respond to that, he doesn’t know how to, so he sits in silence contemplating the situation, while y/n finishes up. When they walk out of the cafe it is in strained silence, Jeongin doesn’t like it at all.

“Can I see them?”

“Sure, let’s go sit somewhere.”They end up on a park bench, y/n with his sleeves rolled up and Jeongin carefully tracing the ink covering y/n’s arm his eyes widened in awe.

“What’s the meaning behind thisone?”

“Nothing really, I got it because I thought it looked nice.”Jeongin laughs lightly and goes back to studying the tattoos on y/n’s arm, now that he is over the initial shock of discovering the tattoos he is enraptured by them.

He’ll probably stare at them whenever y/n wears something short sleeved, or rolls up his sleeves.

He genuinely thinks they are really cool and thinks his boyfriend is like a million times cooler with them.

Actually on AO3 or just in general? The angstiest one in general is still living in my email account and is probably never going to see the light of day

On AO3? I really don’t think I have any angsty ending ones? ACIH is probably the closest one. I tend to like angsty beginnings and middles more than endings 😅

Do you write crossovers? If so, what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I guess On-Air maybe technically counts as a crossover since it’s got characters from HH and HB, and thematic elements from The Matrix? I have an unfinished Lupin III story knocking around that I started just for fun that was eventually meant to turn into a crossover, but the first half has been languishing for a while

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Not really? Annoyance, maybe. Like “why would you do this?” 😅

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Nah. Smut honestly doesn’t inspire much of anything in me. I mean good for the folks who do it/enjoy it or whatever, but it’s nothing that I feel anything for

I can and will do pages of teasing/flirting/etc, but being suggestive is as far as I am personally interested in going with what I write

Currently? RadioHusk. It’s definitely the thing I have produced the most content for of all time (most of which is still unposted)

Whats a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

The vast majority of the stuff I do is just to amuse myself, and well.. that means there’s a lot of abandoned wip stuff knocking around. I pick fandoms back up sometimes though, so who knows? I may eventually finish most of them.

For RH though, the first little amuse-myself story I did will probably never be finished just because it’s been so long and I have gone in a totally different direction with the characters since then. Alastor was sleezier, Husk was angrier, and the hotel was the latest set for the ongoing big mind game between them

A few concepts from it have surfaced in the things that have followed, though

What are your writing strengths?

Uh.

Well, I like scenery and mood, and I try to give some sense of them so that anyone reading can maybe picture what I’m trying to describe. Feelings are really important to me too, and I hope that emotion comes through properly

What are your writing weaknesses?

I get bogged down in minutiae very easily, and have a hard time knowing when to edit stuff down to keep it moving well. The perspective I write in sometimes sounds “flat”, but also I tend to write scenarios that are 1000% more dramatic than they need be. I mean there’s more than that but those are the main ones that come immediately to mind

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

When I use other languages, it’s more “punctuation” than dialogue. A word, two or three tops, because I feel like it’s inevitable that it sounds like Google translate if I use more. I usually avoid presenting a conversation in another language, but that’s just me

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Ever, with written words instead of making up a story in my head? Maaaaybe Hey Arnold? (It might have been Angry Beavers?)

What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

That’s.. hard to answer. Favorite has a lot a qualifiers tbh. Maybe Mis-Match-Made, just because it’s been so many things and the ever-changing au nature of it means it’s touched on a lot of things that I don’t think I’d get an occasion to visit otherwise without a dedicated story made JUST for getting into those concepts.

Interestingly, I think people who enjoyed The Leftovers will enjoy The Empire of Preys way, wayy more than they will enjoy Halfway Home, which is about salarian culture only in negative spaces and focus way more on cultural alienation than exploring Deep Salarian Lore (while The Empire of Preys is nothing but headcanon salarian lore cranked up to eleven).

In general, I expect The Empire of Preys to be a “bigger hit”: there will be nowhere near the amount of awful traumatizing shit that happens in Halfway Home, and I assume the warning tags alone will drive a lot of people away from the fic (which, I very, very much get it). But The Empire of Preys will also work as a standalone, like you won’t need to read Halfway Home to be able to sink into it, and I also think you'll be able to read both in the order you want somehow?

Tbh, regarding Halfway Home, I’m still struggling as to *how* to tag this story when the time comes, because even though I adore Ao3 and I think their tagging system is dope, I’m really scared I’ll... gather a very wrong audience for HH if I use them how most fics use them. There is a huge amount of sexual content in HH, none of it erotic, almost all of it uncomfortable in some way --also with an extremely asexual lens, which doesn’t help. That’s a tough concept to get across with tags.

The tagging experience when doing anything OC-centric, gen fic that sort of goes outside the “classic” fanfic formula is always a little bit of a hurdle, in my experience. Halfway Home will really be a challenge in that regard, and I’m not looking forward to it.

and it’s nice that arthur isn’t the most stupid one here, too, i really love how finnemore balances arthur being daft - like maybe i just think about it too much, but arthur really has more nuance than just being the daft one, and i think it’s such a disservice to him to write him off as one-dimensionally dumb

and here’s how douglas did it, that evil genius - and they’re all right back where they started, just as laws of sitcom dictate - i really adore john finnemore <3

So I beat Fallout: New Vegas and all the DLC’s

The last time I played FONV was probably almost 10 years ago so a lot of it felt pretty new to me. But I got to say, this game has not aged well. Its buggy and I’m lucky if I can play for 45mins without it crashing.

The one flaw that really stood out to me the most was how many areas were bare of content yet you could tell the game designers had a plan for there. But thats to be expected for a game that was rushed out in under 12 months. Its just a shame it never got the deeply needed remastered edition that everyone wants. But beyond all that Its still a great game with great writing and good characters. I had fun and im sad its over.

Which leaves us with the DLC. TBH the only one I would give an A+ to was Dead Money. The setting was good, the writing was good, the atmosphere was good, the characters were good. Just A+ all around.

Sadly tho the other 3 never really made it close. Honest Hearts should have been much bigger with more content. Frankly you could even convince me that it should have been expanded to make its own game, a sequel to FONV, where we see more of post-apocalyptic Utah that had gone more savage compared to New Vegas. The best thing about HH was reading about Randall Clark.

Next on the list is Old World Blues..... Ppl seem to like this one a lot. I feel quite the opposite about it tho. Like I can understand what game makers were trying to do. Kooky 50s style mad scientists from old black&white films. But It just feels out of place compared to how the rest of the game takes itself seriously. Also you read terminals or get to locations like the little yangtze camp (which imo should have played a much bigger role) and realize how dark it is, but then are immediately taken out of it by the ridiculous brain robot doctors making a dumb announcement over the facility loudspeaker. Frankly the game consists almost entirely of a bunch of fetch quests (often repeat fetch quests), uninteresting dialog and missed opportunities. That last one especially kept reminding me FO4. On the side note I did think Muggy was a cool idea.

And last is Lonesome Road.

Nonsensical is the word I would use to describe it. Just being weirdly dragged along by the weird crazy mutterings of this guy named Ulysses into this unstable environment. Nothing in particular stood out to me or was rememberable. The fact that the player is constantly told they can turn around and go back sounded less like a challenge and more like a good idea.

And that was my take of FO:NV. While a game that shows its age and still chocked full of bugs its still a great time. It captures a lot of essences all at once (cowboy western, post-apocalyptic, 50s nostalgia, late stage capitalism, Gambling, frontier life style and so much more.) all of which is, for the most part, well juggled. Im glad I played it again and while I would recommend this game there would always be a “But” where I mention all its problems.

im a Writer(TM) but even when i was still active in writing hcs n such it took me much longer if that makes you feel any better LOL but honestly even apart from the general "dont compare yourself to others" (which i personally also fail at miserably..) you really need to keep in mind that everyone has super different styles! without judging, it makes a huge difference if someone writes 10 sentences or several paragraphs per post, if they proofread, etc etc so please dont feel bad at all!!

Hh yeah about the writing style but I don’t rlly see much different in notes tbh whether it’s paragraphs of per sentence 🤔 I just do whichever one Im more comfortable with though! I rlly admire writers who can do headcanons + scenarios in one post I would flip 🤡🤡🤣 dhhdhdjhh I just feel... very uneffective hhh I want to dish out content at a maximum phase 😞 thank you for the kind words anon!! I’m going to continue working hard ❤️

I see you're a huge fan of new hh I honestly don't really see the appeal there, I much prefer the original cast and none of the songs seem as good (if you have any songs from the new seasons you think can rival 1-5 songs, please send them my way) but I'm just wanting to say that I'm sorry for all the people being horrible on your posts about it. Even if I think the songs are rip offs of better, earlier songs (Warlords from Hell seems to just be Roman Emperors: We're Bad) I respect you. :D

hi! thanks first of all for the message, im definitely getting a bit tired of people reblogging stuff from me/replying directly just to tell me my horrible histories posts make them throw up in their mouth etc etc. anything else is refreshing. slightly longish reply ahead!

tbh the biggest reason i like the new stuff so much is that it’s still horrible histories? it does the same stuff, its purpose is the same, all of that. its still a fun sketch show that, as a history student, i get a lot of enjoyment out of even if it’s obviously meant for children. horrible histories is so incredibly nostalgic for so many people (the cast especially) which is why i totally get why people are reluctant to watch the new stuff, and are even hostile to it. but i believe writing off all of the new stuff immediately without giving it a proper go is unfair and does a disservice to the new cast and the writers who are like, still winning awards lmao. another reason why im such a proponent of the new seasons is that i think someone should be, that someone should gif the funny parts of it, that the cast should still be supported and encouraged and celebrated. im sure you can see i dont have a lot of ‘allies’ in this regard but a fair few of my gifsets/photosets purely of the newer seasons have done pretty well, which encourages me that the content is still funny once you remove yourself from the assumption that it’s going to be absolutely terrible by virtue of the fact it doesnt have the six idiots in it

and on that note, i didnt like it at first either! i was a fan of seasons 1-5 first, watched every episode and owned all the dvds, even had the brief obligatory crush on mat baynton lol. im still a fan of it now... believe it or not you can like both iterations at the same time. i persisted with the new seasons despite some initial reluctance because i love the concept of the show so much, and im rly attached to the new cast now as well (although the cast has rotated since series 6 - the main consistent cast members are jessica ransom, tom stourton, and jalaal hartley)

i agree with you that the songs arent as good, a lot of the time. i put it down to less involvement from the cast (particularly larry, who wrote a ton of sketches and seemed to have a lot of general creative involvement), and the fact that we live in a different time now and the songs are engineered to appeal to a different generation of kids. it’s not as palatable, and they often do unfortunately miss the mark, but they’ve been steadily finding their feet. there’s a wonderful site that someone’s set up with playlists containing all the songs from series 1-8 (including the 2016 specials, which i consider to be highlights). im wary of including links here just in case the post doesn’t show up, but google ‘horrible histories tv wixsite’ and it should be a couple of results down!

since you asked, here are some of my favourite songs, not just from the new seasons but overall (and therefore are songs i believe can rival the originals):

season 6: magna carta, alfred the great (’i’m out of town’), a little more reformation, mary queen of scots song, napoleon bonaparte, antony and cleopatra (’i can’t go on’)

season 6 specials: literally ALL of them. the shakespeare song is a huge favourite and i also adore the great fire one (’starting over again’)

season 7: casanova, downtown threat, good vaccinations, all about this base, qin leader, heroes, iron curtain falls

season 8: bronte sisterhood, romantic poets, flying to the moon, for the common people, moving picture show (and there’s more still to come, including a song about ira aldridge that im really excited for)

if you can’t find the site/playlists i’m talking about just send me another message and i’ll sort you out!! im not sure where youre from but if you have access or a vpn, abc iview (australia) and bbc iplayer both have episodes from series 6-8 so you can check those out if you want!

last thing i’ll say is that i get where you’re coming from with warlords from hell; theyve reused the boyband idea a lot of times too, but theyre hardly carbon copies of the old songs, and i think the new cast and crew deserve credit for how far theyve gone in making the show their own. i mean, they overhauled the format entirely, focusing on people and concepts as opposed to randomised time periods, and it’s worked really well for them. tbh i think that the show is more historically focused now than it used to be - they’re able to go into different topics and historical figures with a lot more depth since they’re not constantly jumping between time periods ten times an episode.
