Okay, so you all know how I get when something gets stuck in my head, but yesterday I saw a post talking about how Katara and Zuko's potential romance messes with their friendship, and I don't understand how, but that's beside the point. This is an anti-Kataang post.
I will once again admit that I don't spend a ton of time in Kataang/anti-Zutara spaces (cause I'm respectful like that), but every so often, I see one of those takes pop up in my safe area (because respect isn't always a two way street, unfortunately). It's interesting to see how many times this take seems to crop up. Katara and Zuko falling in love would ruin their friendship, yet those same people fail to acknowledge that Bryke went ahead and ruined their friendship anyway out of jealousy. These same people also tend to hold Kataang as a prime example of Friends to Lovers, the only problem is, Aang isn't Katara's friend at any point.
Throughout the series, it's made very clear that Aang likes Katara, but for most of the series (until literally the last few seconds, in fact) it's also clear that Katara only sees him as a friend. This should have been an object lesson that sometimes crushes don't work out, but friendship can be stronger than temporarily disappointed feelings. However, that's not what we get. Aang doesn't care about Katara's friendship. He doesn't want Katara in his life unless it's in a romantic capacity. We see it in how he reacts when he feels romantically rejected (lava fissure, EIP). The narrative doesn't give Katara any space to say no to Aang without it permanently damaging their relationship, because they never had the relationship Katara thought they did. Katara thought she was Aang's friend, but for Aang, their 'friendship' was just a precursor to romance. In this, the year 2023, I know we all understand why this is a problem.
Aang can't even conceive of a world where Katara does turn him down. He dreams about her enthusiastic response to his declaration of love; he assumes that since they kissed he kissed her and staked his claim, they should be together, despite there never being any sort of conversation, and the fact that the one time he did try to talk about it, she changed the subject very quickly. Katara's feelings are an afterthought for Aang, which is terrible for any relationship, but particularly in a romantic one. There is never a moment where Aang puts Katara's emotional needs ahead of his own. He never puts a value on her platonic friendship. There's never a moment where he decides that despite his feelings for her, having Katara in his life as a friend is better than not having her at all. That moment should have happened regardless of whether they ended up together or not, because friendship is the most important component of the Friends to Lovers trope.
By comparison, the friendship Katara eventually forms with Zuko is much deeper, and based on a mutual respect, understanding and emotional support for each other. This is a fantastic foundation for a romance, although bafflingly, people who laud Katara and Zuko's deep friendship don't seem to agree. Them potentially falling in love doesn't cheapen their friendship because they actually were friends first. On top of that, their Enemies to Friends journey ending romantically would not only not cheapen their friendship, it would tie into the themes of the show beautifully (the illusion of separation; love being stronger than hate; learning to respect other people's differences etc).
Let's be real, what Kataang actually represents is The Hero Gets the Girl, and I think deep down we all know that, even the ones calling it Friends to Lovers. In the Hero Gets the Girl trope, the Girl in question doesn't really matter. She's less of a romantic partner and more a prize for the Hero saving the day. Her emotional journey to falling for the Hero mostly plays out off screen, even though she may not have even liked the Hero like that initially, and the hero doesn't ever show that he respects her as a person. For the most part it works (arguably) because the Girl isn't a character in her own right, she's just part of the Hero's story. The reason it doesn't work with Kataang is that Katara is a character. She does have her own journey, and as passionate and outspoken as she is in pretty much every other aspect of her life, it doesn't make sense for her journey to falling for Aang takes place largely off screen. Not unless you understand how little Katara's feelings matter to their relationship. Had Katara actually rejected Aang, their friendship would have ended because Aang was never interested in her friendship.
It's interesting to me to see people who claim to value friendship over romance spend more time complaining about a romance that isn't canon over the actual canon ship that really does cheapen the friendship. But then again, I guess that was never the problem in the first place.

Time for my weekly thoughts and man this week is a frustrating one. It was just supposed to be a cute episode w/ a sad little moment between Claude and his dad and a sweet one between Desmond and his sister but I'm so concerned for the reading comprehension of so many people after this one.
First, the one I saw talked about most-
For christ sake, YES, they can technically have kids. But you have seen the result of a human and blank having a kid. Remember Rex living in his basement for 18 years?? Remember the literal PROTESTS about the last half-blank that was born? And how she was going to be sent to a lab?? Yes, they can technically have damn children!! But nobody in their right mind CHOOSES to have a half-blank! That is all Desmond meant. Second, this was originally supposed to be commentary on just...how weird it is he's even thinking about that lol. Like I'm ngl, I always find it really weird how...interested people are in my characters breeding. Any time there's any sign of romance between a male and female character, there's tons of comments on what that would mean for their children when children aren't even a concept in their minds rn. Like why do you care what percent blank Rex and Nia would have? You think Nia's even remotely thinking about that rn? Idk, it's ALWAYS weirded me out when that's the first question people have about a ship, but it's a VERY common question, so I wanted Rosie to call out how weird it is lol. If you're one of those people who asks that tho... Then idk. Sorry. I think that's a little weird of ya!! I get eventually wondering it but why is it like always the first concern?
Second:
Rolling over more so from last week, the amount of people shocked in the recent episodes Claude is a Blank? I already ranted about this a bit in a previous post, but the amount of people acting like this is the first they're hearing of this....seriously makes me question my writing and also sad how little people must be actually reading this. There are so many instances of Claude without his mask, flat out stating he's a blank, seen with blank space, and most blatantly, stealing a drug that is only intended for blanks? And implying he's gonna use it?? Like at this point, you must just be skipping any chapters where Claude is on screen and it makes me feel like I'm wasting my time writing his scenes.
Lastly... And this one has been baffling me since season 2:
WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE THINK JAY IS A GIRL??!!!??!???!
He has AMAB anatomy, he's use he/him pronouns the entire series, and his siblings call him "brother." Is it his hair???? Because even that was inspired by a male character!! (Usopp from One Piece) This one's been a mystery to me since s2 when he was introduced. Is it just people assume a person raising their siblings like a single parent must be a girl?? Or is it less deep than that?
Sorry for such a cranky weekly thoughts but oml I just...couldn't even enjoy the comments about Desmond being a silly protective brother because it's just one of those weeks where I feel like everyone's skipping every episode that isn't entirely focused on Rex.

Hi! Just found your blog and I'm having a blast reading through your Croc theories and analysis, they're great! I wanted to ask you what you make of Croc's last manga appearance (I think), where Buggy announces he wants to be Pirate King. Just before that Croc mentions they need power and influence to form their utopia. It bugs me. Operation Utopia was your typical bad guy plot, but now he's still going on about that? What's that about? What idea of utopia could Mihawk and Croc possibly share??
I mean the OG Operation Utopia was simply about creating a military nation powerful enough to oppose the World Government, Crocodile explained it during the Alabasta arc explicitly. And the reason he targetted Alabasta specifically was because he believed Pluton would be there which would make his military nation unstopable.
So it's not entirely shocking Crocodile still wants to create that military force, even if he's given up on the Ancient Weapon part.
What bothers me is:
Why did Crocodile wait two whole years until he made his first move at restarting his Utopia Plans?
Why does he want that military force to begin with?
Like the easy answer for 1) would be that Crocodile had to wait for his turn to become plot-relevant again and was simplying enjoying his vacation in the meantime. Like considdering the shit happening during Dressrosa, Whole Cake and Wano, having Crocodile start his BS early would've been a distraction storywise frankly and Oda had enough balls to juggle at once with those sagas.
But also, it is odd Crocodile hasn't done ANYTHING ahead of time to start rebuilding a new military force, like. He had two whole years, what the fuck was he doing then? Why wait that long just to start??
And I can only assume... he was waiting? For something?
Let's think about what has changed in the world of OP between Dressrosa and now, like the big, key events that impact the whole world:
Luffy has not just returned to the pirating scene after two years but has caused a fuck ton of world-shaking chaos in the New World (becoming an Emperor being simply the latest big thing)
Reverie happened
The Revolutionaries attacked Marijoa for the first time
The Shichibukai System was demolished
And there's two things we can kind of take-away from these.
If Crocodad Real, Crocodile watching his son take the spotlight could've inspired the man to move; the WG would want to target his baby boy and thus becoming an intentional distraction could be his goal here.
Alternatively, hearing that his ex Finally Did Something could've made Crocodile be like "fuck I'm not losing to Dragon" and inspired him to actually make a move himself.
OR. Perhaps the end of the Shichibukai System is what got Crocodile to actually make a move? Because there's two things;
One, he was able to make a very powerful ally very fast when Mihawk became a target for the WG. It's possible Crocodile might've been waiting for an opportunity like that, to recruit someone reasonable, reliable and extremely capable to make his own future endevours easier.
Two. Because Crocodile gave all his money to fucking Buggy, it's possible Croc could've been broke these past two years. But knowing Buggy's now lost his Shichibukai Rights, THAT may have been why Crocodile decided to go get his money back when he did. Because if/when Buggy decided to skedaddle and disappear into the wind, there'd be no way for him to get his money back anymore, right.
OR. It could be all of these things together. The planets aligned and Crocodile saw now was the time to make his move. Maybe. IDK.
And then we get to 2, Why Does He Want To Create That Military Nation To Begin With
And I have no idea
I mean there's the whole Romancing SaGa 2 thing, but while that would work as proof of Crocodile's motivations, it doesn't explain particularly why he wants to destroy the WG. Like not that you need a personal motivation considdering what the WG is like, but without the motivation it's hard to tell if it's for World Domination or something else.
Though if Crocodad Real then it'd sound very reasonable if he was very intentionally trying to fuck with the World Government to protect his son by
trying to put a target on his own back and act as a distraction
take down as many Marines as possible to dwindle down the enemy forces (making it harder for the WG to make moves on anyone)
lowkey assisting Dragon if he wanted to mayhaps attack Marijoa again if he's actually up to doing something now
just prepare for a war against the WG
Or any combo of the above.
Like. I dunno man Crocodad really would just explain so much
But it all remains to be seen

OKAYOKAY let's start!
For concept 1
With (Not corrupted!) Beast cookie Reader, I wanted them to be the symbol of selflessness! (Still planning out what ingredient they represent :D)
The reason I chose Selflessness for Y/N in particular is due to how it fits the story! Let's continue
Set from many years ago before the other five corrupted, Y/N is a cookie known for helping others no matter what and travels around More than the others.
(I know it seems like a basic concept but trust!! It fits with the plot since the reason the reader seems more carefree than the other cookies is due to being more isolated from knowing stuff, which is why the witches gave Y/N some tasks the moment they saw some signs of corruption in the others. Now there must be another question, Why only Y/N? In my pov I assumed the beast cookies corrupted at the same time due to each other's influence, and Y/N doing tasks and being the symbol of selflessness makes sense as to why Y/N isn't affected due to not many interactions. You get you get? 😭 Sorry for my bad explanation)
Before the other five got corrupted, Y/N was busy somewhere else, Tending to the witches requests and other cookies from far away.
Which is why in this story Y/N will be unaware of what happened! (Due to the witches fear of Corruption for their last remaining Hero?Beast?Mythical? Cookie, they make sure to not let Y/N know everything about what happened)
After Y/N came back, to be horrified at the sight of destruction everywhere and a mysterious silver tree but before they can ask the surviving cookies about it, the witches came to take Y/N for.. modifications
To prevent corruption in the future they decided to modify Y/N soul jam
Now, What are these modifications?
Here are some examples!!
-Y/N soul jam power relies on the joy/happiness/Gratitude of the cookies they help! (So basically if Y/N does end up being horrible to cookies and hurting them, Y/N powers grow weaker which will be easier for the witches to stop)
-Y/N Soul jam reacts brightly to other soul jams! Which affects the other users Emotions or Temporarily stop the power of their soul jam. (Protocol made by the witches to stun the beast cookies if they escape)
With these modifications to Y/N soul jam and especially telling a different version of the story.
Y/N was back but this time in Earthbread! ( Or basically just not beast yeast 😭) Along with new batches of cookies made by the witches, Y/N continued their duty and travelled everywhere as time progresses with new soul jam holders and more cookies! (Which leads to Y/N being very well known and cookies getting excited whenever Y/N is seen wandering by, looking for cookies who need help)
I have more depth into this but if you wanna ask questions I don't mind! Since I'm not sure if I explained well! But Y/N is the most loyal to the witches especially to a lil young witch! (It was intended to be only five cookies but the witches decided to let the little young witch join in and make her own cookie! This is why Y/N is mostly around the witches and why they werent affected in corruption by the other beast cookies, though.. Y/N does get upset about their friends being gone)
The other version of the story told to Y/N is still in makings! Over all this is a WIP! And I still gotta fix tons of stuff! As this is just a messy summary 😭
I wanted to make a different kind of Beast Reader especially with more depth! Though just remember! This is an idea <3
I actually have another version MWEHEHHEE
This time Y/N is corrupted after some time the other five were sealed, Once Y/N hears the full story from a cookie while others being scared that Y/N will hurt them too, Y/N ran away into hiding and slowly got corrupted overtime blaming themselves for not noticing and more! Which leads to Y/N being corrupted and symbolizing grief.
Entering the area where Y/N ran away, You can sometimes hear the cries echo in the forest/area.
And yeah! That's my ideas so far for beast cookie reader!! In a messy summary 😭

Here’s part 2! This one gets pretty angsty. Warning: Mentions of demons/demon activity, Death, Also gets suggestive. PART 1 HERE
An Ungodly Dream
Even if you had 1,000 chances to guess how you’d be spending a Thursday night you never would’ve guessed sitting in your living room talking to a demon but here you are. “Soooo Yoongi, were you born a demon or how did this happen?”, you asked unsure if that was even okay to ask but you weren’t sure about boundaries when it came to demons. He chuckled, “It’s kind of a long story but no I wasn’t born a demon. I actually signed a contract with this guy and in exchange for him doing something for me I agreed to become one his servants.” You nodded unsure of what your next question should be.
Yoongi could tell that you had a lot more on your mind. He began, “Look Y/N there’s a lot about this you’ll never understand but I’ll try to make it as simple as I can. About six years ago I was really in love with this girl. She was my everything. One day she passed out at home and after they ran some tests in the emergency room they told us she had incurable brain cancer and was given three months to live. I was devastated and I knew I’d do anything to not loose her.” He ran his hands over his face and sighed. This story was clearly hard for him to tell but he continued anyways, “One night shortly after that, I went to a bar to try and drink away the pain. While there I met a man who told me his name was Jin. He said he could take away any pain in the world in exchange for something small. He had my attention so I followed him to a back room. He pulled out a piece of paper that I didn’t really understand but at the time I didn’t really care. He basically said he would heal my girlfriend so that she’d be cancer free and all I had to do was agree to work for him. In my drunken grieving state I didn’t even ask any questions, not even how he knew about the cancer when I never even told him that. I signed the paper and before I could say anything else he was gone. Well a week goes by and I assume it must’ve just been a drunken dream because nothing has happened. Then we go to my girlfriends appointment and there are like nine doctors from all over the world. One of them pulls up her brain scan from the day before and tells us how the cancer is completely gone. They’ve never seen anything like it before and it’s a medical miracle that she was cancer free. I was ecstatic. The love of my life was healed and no longer weeks from death. I didn’t even think about the contract that I signed. So a couple weeks go by and I come home from work and hear a strange sound coming from the bedroom. I gently pushed opened the door and saw my girlfriend in bed with another guy. When I confronted them she told me that she had a new lease on life or some bullshit like that and didn’t want to be tied down to one person any more. So I packed a bag and went back to the bar to drink away the heartbreak. That’s when I felt a tap on my shoulder and saw Jin standing there. He told me how he had held up his end of the contract and now it was my turn. So I’ve spent the last six years doing his bidding all for a girl who in the end didn’t even love me and I have no way out of it.”
You were speechless. Yoongi’s eyes didn’t move from the the coffee cup on the table in front of him. After some time you reached out and grabbed his hand, “I’m really sorry that happened to you Yoongi. I really am.” He gave you a small smile. “Any other questions?”, he asked trying to change the subject. “Um yeah a ton but I don’t even really know where to begin. What kind of things do you normally do for this Jin guy? Is there anyway for you to break the contract? Maybe a lawyer or something?” Yoongi chuckled at that, “Do you really think there are lawyers that specialize in demon contracts? No there’s no way out. Either fulfill the contract or cease to exist basically. As far as what I do. I do a little bit of everything. I’m a master of all trades.” There was that cockiness again that you hated but also kind of found attractive. He continued, “It depends on why I was summoned or what Jin had planned for me. Sometimes I’ll make deals with people and have them sign contracts to lure them in. Sometimes I’ll be an incubus if that’s what is requested of me.” You cleared your throat unsure if you want to ask your next question or if you’re just scared of the answer. You forgot that he can read minds but he answers before you can even ask. “I only physically hurt people if I’m commanded to by Jin. He’s like my boss. It’s rare for that to happen though. He mostly only cares about getting people to sign away their lives. The more contracts he has the more powerful he is.”
You nodded in acceptance of his answer feeling a little better. You had so many more questions but decided that it was late and he had opened up enough for the night. “So do you sleep or how does this work?”, you asked unsure of yourself. Yoongi smiled, “I can sleep. I don’t have to but sometimes it’s nice to just relax and pretend to be fully human again.” You awkwardly chuckled being reminded that this beautiful man in front of you was not actually human any more. “Go to sleep Y/N. I’ll be alright out here. We still have a lot to discuss tomorrow.”, he smiled over at you. You nodded and began walking back to your bedroom before turning around, “Goodnight Yoongi.” He smiled back at you, “Goodnight Y/N.”
Somehow you managed to fall asleep for a few hours before your alarm went off signaling you it was time to get ready for work. You quickly showered and changed eager to find out what your new demon roommate was up to. You weren’t expecting to walk into the kitchen and find a large breakfast prepared for you including pancakes, blueberry muffins, an omelette, and fresh squeezed orange juice and hot coffee. “Morning sleepyhead”, Yoongi smiled before handing you a mug. “I didn’t know you could cook.”, you said happily taking some coffee. “I used to be human or did you forget already.”, he laughed. You rolled your eyes, “No I didn’t forget. I just didn’t ever expect demons to be this nice. You know, usually they’re more demon-ish.” Yoongi smirked as he sat down next to you taking a bite of a muffin. “Not all demons are like that. Of course there are ‘bad’ demons but a lot of them are like me. We’re just trying to survive after making the choices that we did.”, he said taking a sip of juice. You nodded and silently ate your breakfast.
Yoongi told you to leave the dishes as he’d do them later since he had nothing else to do. You reluctantly agreed before grabbing your purse. “When I get back from work we can talk some more.”, you told him. He nodded before walking you to the door. “Oh and there might be some chicken in the fridge. You know in case you wanted to whip up something for dinner later.”, you said and he chuckled taking your hint. “Yes Dear. Anything else?”, he asked. You shook your head before saying a quick goodbye and closing the door behind you.
The day went by surprisingly quick. It probably had to do with the fact that you couldn’t wait to get home to see Yoongi. Somehow you found yourself actually kind of missing him. So once 5:00pm hit you found yourself rushing home quickly kicking off your shoes by the door and walking into the kitchen greeting Yoongi who was hard at work putting the finishing touches on dinner. “I hope you like it. It’s been a while since I cooked like this.”, he said shyly. “It looks amazing plus anything is better than what I would’ve been able to make.”, you chuckled. Taking a bite of the food you smiled. “It’s so good Yoongi. You’d really make a good husband one day.”, you said not noticing his shoulders drop at the compliment. The two of you ate in silence and then you washed the dishes with Yoongi’s help because he insisted. After you changed into some comfy clothes you met Yoongi who was already sitting on the couch mindlessly watching something on the tv. When he saw you walk in he shut it off, “I’m guessing you want to talk about some things.”
You nodded, “Yeah we probably should.” There was a long silence until you spoke, “How do I release you back since I summoned you on accident?” He bit his lip, “Well there are three ways to do that. The first being that I complete a task for you, it would be the reason you summoned me to begin with. The second is to have you sign a contract and you basically become one of us. The third is we have to wait for the next full moon and on that day we would follow the guidelines in that book you were reading. Looking at our options we’ll probably have to go with the third one.” You fidgeted with the hem of your shirt, “I mean we could look at the other options. I know I didn’t intend to summon you but my boss has been a real jerk lately so maybe I can have you go mess with him a little. You know slam some doors. Open all of his kitchen cabinets in the middle of the night.” He laughed, “Y/N I’m a demon. Not a poltergeist. You’ve said it yourself that you didn’t mean to summon me. And there’s no way I’m letting you sign any contract so our only option is number three.”
Nodding in agreement you got up and retrieved the book from your room turning to the chapter on demons. Yoongi helped you flip through the pages before finding what he was looking for, “There that’s it.” You began reading through the pages wanting to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all but at this point nothing shocks you anymore. You checked your phone, “Okay the next full moon is in three weeks.”, you said. “Okay then I guess we’re gonna get to know each other.”, Yoongi smiled. You wanted to say something sarcastic but deep down you felt your heart flutter at the thought.
The two of you spent the following week acting like an old married couple. You’d bicker about minor things only to return back to normal shortly after. He cooked you breakfast and dinner every day and even packed your lunch a couple days. The two of you ended up cuddling on the couch one night after falling asleep leading to you both waking up feeling awkward and confused.
Thankfully it was the weekend so you were able to get to spend more time with each other. It was Saturday evening and the two of you had decided to go out to dinner. Admittedly you maybe put a little more effort into your outfit than you needed to but it was worth it when you walked out and saw Yoongi checking you out. “You look very nice this evening.”, he said offering you his arm to hold onto. “Thank you. You clean up nice yourself.”, you responded. Since the weather was so nice and the restaurant wasn’t too far the two of you decided to walk. As you passed a group of guys standing against a wall Yoongi protectively put himself between you and the men while keeping his arm left arm around your waist. Just as you walked by them Yoongi suddenly stopped and whipped his head around to glare at one of the men wearing a blue baseball cap. “Weren’t you ever taught to respect women asshole? She’s not a toy for you to use as you please.”, he spat. Yoongi grabbed your hand and quickly pulled you away from the men before you could even question him but you assumed the guy had thought something provocatively about you and Yoongi heard his thoughts. You felt a smile creep up at the thought that he felt the need to defend you like that.
Dinner was one of the best nights you’d ever had. Yoongi had lots of stories about things he had done and seen. You listened very closely taking it all in. After dinner the two of you made your way back to your apartment and once inside you let your feelings overtake your brain. The alcohol from dinner probably didn’t help but you instinctively wrapped your hands around Yoongi’s neck pulling him closer to you and placing a kiss on his lips. You waited to see if he’d push you away. When he didn’t you pulled him in again and deepened the kiss. Then you moved to his dress shirt and you started unbuttoning it one by one as Yoongi removed the sweater you were wearing over your strapless dress.
The two of you made your way to your bedroom where Yoongi pushed you down onto your bed before going in for another kiss. The kisses went back and forth moving from your lips to various parts of your body. What you didn’t expect was for him to jump back like something had just bit him. “Yoongi what’s wrong? Did I hurt you?”, you asked concerned. “We can’t do this Y/N. There can’t be anything between us. We’re not the same and I’m not going to risk you being dragged down with me.”, he said quickly buttoning back up his shirt. “Yoongi I don’t understand. Everything has been so good between us. We can figure something out.”, you said reaching for him. He shook his head taking a step back from you, “No Y/N. It’s not like a long distance relationship or something. This is serious. There are things you just don’t understand. I ruined my life and I have to pay that price. I won’t let that also hurt you.” “Yoongi please. Help me understand. I’ll do what it takes to be with you.”, you cried. You watched at Yoongi opened your bedroom door. He turned around to look at you, “No Y/N. I won’t let you do that. I’m gonna stay in the spare room until the full moon is here and we can follow the protocol to release me. Just stay away from me until then. It’s for your own good.”
With that he walked out and shut the door behind him. You heard the faint click of the door to the spare room shut next to you. Sitting on the bed you began to sob into your pillow. You knew he was right. He was a demon after all and you seemed to forget that little detail. But even after you reminded yourself of that you still couldn’t help but feel your heart breaking at the fact that the man you loved was in the room next to yours but you were never going to be able to have him. Unless maybe you signed a contract of your own…

Is there a way to try to recover from the complete and constant fatigue from how hard life just keeps constantly coming down? Things have been so bad and I am so tired and I feel like I am forcing a sack of potatoes to function
Full disclosure, I'm still recovering from fatigue, abuse, and years of stress induced sleep issues while also feeling the pressures of being jobless for the last 12 months.
So for me the key to this was finding out what the cause of those issues were, who or what specifically was making me so fatigued/stressed/etc.
Part of that was finding people who legitimately cared about me as a person and not just as a "content creator/known person." Which was... hard, arguably the hardest thing I've ever done. There have been a ton of people who "cared" about me, but only because they assumed my "known" status would benefit them. So actually finding people who saw me as an actual human person with feelings was key.
Second was the thing I advocate most for... therapy. Finding a therapist that could help me work through these issues and more to find some semblance of peace. I, unfortunately, had to part ways with mine for the time being because I just don't have money to pay for it anymore. But my therapist continues to reach out and chat, as a person, because she knows my financial situation is tense and that I fully intend to go back to her once that situation is fixed.
The last part of it is... rest. Actual rest. And learning how to do that. Which is something I'm still kind of learning about how to do properly. For the last 8 years I've been constantly covering up the bags under my eyes with makeup and only recently stopped doing so in 2023. But it was so bad that without makeup I looked like I was a husk of a person, very mummy-esque sunken in eyes. Admitting to people, who cared, that I was struggling to bad with everything and all the things I was dealing with was a much needed step in finding a way to rest. Because they'd hold me accountable for always dismissing my health issues.
At the end of it all, you need to find out what you need. You deserve to care for yourself and have others care for you as well.
If you're burnt out, admitting it first and finding ways to get into a self-care grove is so beyond important because... after a while that burnout will become the new constant and recovering from that is... harder.
Take it from me, don't let yourself get too far burnt out. It's years upon years of recovery that you'll need if you let it, and people who encourage that burnout, take over your life.

I do love horror, romantic gothic poetry (Think Poe and the like), analog horror(DOAI, Mandela Catalogue), Dr. Who, bad b movies (think Redletter media level bad), animation in general, HB HH, stuff like that, I read everything and anything so long as the narrative is interesting or the subject is a hyperfixation of mine, such as Religions, Mythology, History relating to late Medieval to Elizabethan, textiles, fantasy, or speculative biology (like thought potato on youtube). I also do dress in character for the Renaissance Festival, people assume I work there as I have season passes for the last 5 years and attend all weekends from open to close.
I tend to be a sweet tooth, love any chocolate, baked goods with richness or chocolate flavors, drink lots of coffee, tea, sweet red wines, mead, rum based cocktails or dark malty beers if we're going alcohol, though I tend to be the driver if I'm going to party somewhere. My giving love language is touch and words, along with acts of service. My receiving love language is words, touch, and gift giving. I love to cook or make gifts for others, usually don't expect it in turn.
I'm loud, maternal, weirdly dark yet wholesome, and able to lift a toilet with my bare hands up two flights of stairs. I tend to talk either like a southern grandma or terminally online weirdo with random swears. When friends have a bad breakup I'm like do you want a hug or does someone have to die?
In relationships I can be very talkative, but also in a sense the less dominant partner. Like, I handle the day to day, but not great at organizing the dates, the stuff like that's more romantic. I'd hope my partner could handle that part. I'm also romantically easily flustered. Like squeaking and burning red in the face from genuine good flirting.

It is WILD to me that one household was straight up throwing out that many toys. That was like an entire childhoods worth to me as a poor kid 🥲 I was also SO attached to my toys that if I saw my parents throw them out I would probably cry because they're my dear friend 🥺 I really hope the kid/s knew about it
Thankfully the kids did know about it and I assume were okay with it! ❤️Their mother told me the kids they had to "make room for new toys from Santa" and that's what the kids either chose themselves or confirmed they'd be okay with getting rid of, by the sound of it. I just can't wrap my head around why they'd throw it all away instead of donating it. Monday morning when I was headed to work they had just as many toys out a second time but I didn't have time to stop and get them.
My mom made me get rid of a ton of toys when I was a kid when I wasn't ready to, and I literally still think about those toys to this day. That's how I lost many of my favorite toys (my Furbies, MousePad, Leap Frog, SO many stuffed animals) and kind of just kept things family members had gotten me that she liked or that were hand-me-downs from my siblings that my mom had gotten attached to. You can see where this blog started psychologically. 😀
The stuff people throw out, especially in nice neighborhoods, is absolutely wild. My sister and I basically have a competition out of seeing how much we can "rescue." We pick up anything and everything that is salvageable, clean it up, and donate it. ❤️I'd also be lying if I said much of my own house isn't curb finds, and twice now I've helped families furnish entire apartments using things I was able to find thrown away.

Does the x-office hate beast?
Cynically: yes.
Less cynically: it's complicated?
Like, here's the thing, right - Beast fans are . . . kinda rare. Sure, there's tons of people who saw the 90s cartoon and really liked him, there are tons of people who saw X-Men 3 and liked him there, there's a whole (almost separate) community of people who are still writing X-Men: First Class fanfic about that version of Hank.
But I'm talking about, will go out and write fanfiction about the character; will draw fanart of him; will actively go out of their way to talk about him on social media. I feel like that's been on the decline for the last . . . fuck, 30 years, probably? Ever since he went from this
to this.
Like, the difference is jarring and immediate, right?
And that lack of a dedicated fanbase made him an easy character to contort to fit stories that certain writers wanted to tell. The X-office doesn't have a ton of people gagging to write Beast, he doesn't headline his own series, he doesn't have a rabid Twitter populace who will fight and scream and shout like Emma Frost or Cyclops.
What do most people think when they see Beast? Like, normal people who don't read comics, who just consume maybe a Marvel movie twice a year, or saw a cartoon when they were a kid.
"Oh, he's cool. SO ANYWAY, MORE OF THAT WOLVERINE."
Beast is not a character with a strong base.
So he's just.
Disposable.
Who cares, throw Beast to Bendis or Ben Percy, I don't care, is what it feels like.
As for WHY he doesn't have that dedicated fanbase, well, I have theories.
A lot of Hank stories are just, sad. They're just so fucking sad and tragic and dark and about finding light where you can.
I often find them very cathartic, like, Hank leads such a troubled and harsh life, and he savours the pleasures where he can get them, and I really love that aspect of his character, that unyielding spirit, but that does not make for a popular character.
His feline era, from 2000 to 2012, is honestly my favourite for him because he is so nuanced and his themes of learning to love your body and control yourself, and his thoughtful, measured, deeply moralistic stories resonate with me and provide me with comfort, the idea that people can be tempted to do bad in the service of good but turn away is beautiful to me.
But that's not really an easily sell? People don't usually want to be sad when they read comic books. They want to be thrilled or horrified or made to laugh. Sad is . . . harder to sell.
Honestly, I also think there's a degree of assuming that he's a snobby asshole because he talks fancy. Like, I legit think that plays into it, and you sometimes see writers fall for the same preconception, they assume that Hank is a snob, and he really isn't, he's a lower-middle class kid from Illinois who grew up on a farm and whose dad was involved in a horrific radiation accident because of poor safety conditions, this is not a person who would be snobby.
It's so funny to me because the guy is from a fictional place in Illinois? It's never specified, which means, if anything, he probably sounds like he's from Chicago! Now, there's probably a degree to which he does speak more formally and has changed his voice, because Hank is extremely protective and conscious of the image he projects, always has been, but snobby? Pfft, nooooo. So yeah, absolutely, you see people assuming that he's a snob because he's smart. Snobby only plays well if you're Emma Frost.
I also have to say, I think there's a degree to which there's an anti-intellectual bias going on. If you look at pretty much all of the major genius characters, they are pretty much ALL unpopular because they are nerds and they are not usually portrayed as being great fighters or tacticians, which is an easy way for a character to become popular - that's why Cyclops is so popular, because he's right all the time and he's a badass, and that's an easy pop. Science solutions are inherently less visceral, harder to write and thus rarer, and do not stick in people's minds.
Moreover, what do you think of when you think of genius superhero? The reputation is of privilege and the image is of boring white guys, they assume it's just - boring. It's only interesting if it's cloaked in sarcastic wit, like House or Sherlock (during The Dark Times), or used in a martial sense, which is why Black Panther is the exception to the 'all the nerds are boring.' Bruce Banner also escapes this trap because he's had his own solo comics for 60 years and he's had a million people write absolutely amazing stories for him.
I also think that his almost complete absence from the Claremont era stories hurts his fandom reputation, because if you're an X-Men fan, you read Claremont, and Hank is not in those stories almost at all. He pops up during the Mesmero arc, during Dark Phoenix, here and there, but he spends 1974 to 1991 in the Avengers, the Defenders, X-Factor, he is so very rarely being written by who most people would consider the definitive X-Men scribe. There's also an element of the stupid X-Men vs. Avengers tribalism working against him thanks to that.
I think Claremont writes a pretty decent Hank when he does turn up, but there's a reason he picked Jean and Scott, and it's interesting that he chose to feature Hank more often than Warren and Bobby, and even then, Warren more than Bobby. I don't know if Hank was really heavily in demand so he just couldn't get him, or if he didn't know what stories to tell with him, but I actually kinda think it was the former, just because Hank always makes an appearance in his post-'91 work, especially his alternate timelines, and he was clearly interested in writing for him in X-Treme X-Men given he set up the Betsy romantic angle early, but then Morrison snatched him up.
Hank also got pushed into the role of the naysayer during the Fraction and Bendis era, which is an instant rock around the neck for your popularity. A lot of the arguments that Hank makes about why he doesn't like what Scott does and how he runs the X-Men and Utopia are not necessarily wrong?
Like, X-Force is just plain morally bad. It is.
You can make the argument that it's necessary, but these two things can exist at the exact same time, which appears to be a concept that people do not grasp! And especially, like . . . the X-Men are not an army. They are a voluntary paramilitary group that is, ostensibly, dedicated to mutant rescue, outreach, and general superheroics.
You are not obliged to stay.
Hank was suffering from legitimate PTSD flashbacks, he was wracked with guilt over the Skrull bioweapon (which, notably, sticks to Hank but does NOT stick to Scott), he was very obviously depressed, recovering from torture - and when he reached out to Bobby to try and explain how he was feeling, draw some comfort, Bobby basically just told him to deal with it!
But this made him SO FUCKING UNPOPULAR. You can go to comics sites that have comments under this issue, under the issue where Hank is having PTSD flashbacks, and they'll be like, THIS IS WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, and I'm like???????? The fuck are you saying to me?????? WHY ARE YOU BOOING HIM HE'S RIGHT.
There's also a degree to which I think that, whether the writers have realised it or not, they do not usually put in the work to establish that the X-Men are doing their due diligence to make sure that Hank is okay. They rely a LOT on off-screen things happening to fill in the blanks. A short list of things that we have never seen!
The reaction from the O5 when Hank first turned furry.
The reaction from the Mansion X-Men when Hank turned into a cat.
Anyone going to visit Hank in the infirmary when he was recovering from his fur and claws falling out due to torture.
Anyone expressing concern over the fact that during the whole time travel debacle, Hank was dying and did not tell anyone.
You don't see these moments, and these are fucking important! These make you sympathetic to the character! These are the moments where people look at Beast in pain, suffering because of what's happened to him, going through his emotional arcs, showing strength as he perseveres, THAT is what builds a fanbase and keeps a fanbase engaged with a character - but they just stop happening for Hank. You don't see them. He loses his characterisation moments, they just happen off-panel.
But what do you see? You see a lot of people walk into Hank's lab, they receive words of wisdom and comfort, or a scientific solution for their problems, and then they walk out.
Like, Hank from Avengers vs. X-Men onwards reads as just - psychologically unstable. He does things on impulse, he reacts without talking to people, he does not have strong relationships with anyone, he appears to have broken up with his long time girlfriend (for no specified reason, we still don't know why 9 YEARS LATER), he often appears adrift and lost and unhappy.
And we are TOLD during his intervention that people have talked to him about what's going on, and they were ignored, but, like, I'm sorry, FUCK OFF, SHOW YOUR GODDAMN WORK.
If you want your emotional moments to have any bite, then you need to ESTABLISH things!!! When Ororo says, oh, you're just ignoring everyone, I'm like, FUCKIN' SHOW ME WHEN YOU TALKED TO HIM. Because do you know what I DID see?
I saw Hank being the most comforting and lovely and soft individual in Storm's solo series, being there for her after Logan's death, BASICALLY BECOMING HER SECRETARY BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO FUCK OFF AND BE A THIEF, and then BOOM, suddenly, she's like, you're a fucking loose cannon.
This was, like, a few months apart. Editors? Hello? Does Ororo fucking hate Hank or not? Because Bendis seems to be of the opinion that she does, but Greg Pak does not appear to have gotten the memo! HELLO? EDITORS? There's a big fucking GAP here where a story arc is meant to go???
There's so much of Hank's 2012-onward story that we just AREN'T shown. Like, he and Scott just - patch up their differences over the revolutionary thing OFF-PANEL during Hickman's Avengers. You don't even see the conversation. He agrees to try and work on the M-Pox cure, MOVES TO ATTILAN TO HELP THEM, all because Storm (WHOM, LAST WE SAW, WAS THREATENING TO PUT HIM IN PRISON FOR CRIMES AGAINST NATURE) convinced him to . . . and WE DO NOT SEE THIS CONVERSATION.
Every time someone pulls out the 'oh, this has been an expertly played baton pass of writers depicting Hank's moral downfall,' I just want to fucking pick up shit and fling it in their face, because they could not be more wrong.
Do you know who's read more Beast comics than these fuckers?
Me. It's me.
Believe me, if there was an actual DEPICTION of ANY of these MASSIVE emotional moments in Hank's life, I would LOVE to talk about them and agree. But they do not exist. It's a character being used as a narrative prop to justify writing decisions that otherwise wouldn't make sense (Inhumans vs. X-Men, All-New X-Men), and no-one cares because he was never that popular to begin with.
And it just - frustrates me, because, like, did you know that Hank formed a political advocacy group for mutant rights?
Did you know he was present during sessions of Congress, giving his support to pro-mutant legislation and becoming long time friends with multiple politicians?
But because it's in New Defenders, because it's in Secret Avengers, and no-one READ those issues, they don't care! It doesn't matter to them! Hank has, by and large, within the narrative, done SO MUCH for mutant rights, he has ACTIVELY worked for them within the system SO HARD, but because it isn't done with an optic blast or a big punchy fist in an X-Men book, it doesn't count.
And like, I just . . . the last few appearances before he starts being focused on in X-Force, before the heel turn, he is NOT acting like an asshole!
Laura literally calls him the nerd she can trust and he takes pictures of her and Gabby being cute during a party!
He's helping Banshee recover from his Apocalypse corruption and teaching at Harvard, trying to actively retire from superhero work because he's exhausted!
He's telling Captain Marvel, hey, you're wrong about your precognition bullshit in Civil War II, and he's helping Spider-Man with science problems, and he SAVES THE INHUMAN CIVILISATION SINGLEHANDEDLY!
So many writers are trying to steer him back onto course. Not just Avengers books, either, X-Men books! There's, like, TWO, THREE writers who want to push evil, asshole Beast, and everyone else is just like, uhhh, nooo? But because the X-office do not care, they keep getting their chance. They don't care about protecting Beast's reputation, or his stories, or his legacy. He's just a character to be thrown wherever he'll fit.
So you get the narrative that he was always evil. He was decaying all along.
No, it's bullshit. It's literally the Scarlet Witch story again, where it just HAPPENS in fits and starts to kick off events and stories, regardless of whether or not it makes sense for past characterisation or continuity.
So, yeah. It's a combination of the X-office not really caring about protecting the image of the character, and certain writers just doing shoddy, shitty jobs of writing emotional checks that their asses weren't willing to cash.

Can I see your oshi no kono but happier au?
!!!! HELLO I ONLY JUST SAW THIS ASK, YES OF COURSE YOU CAN SEE IT :DDDD It's still in WIP jail for now, but I can give you a basic rundown! I'll put it under a cut:
So, Tommy is the main character because I'm an unapologetic Inniter, lol. He is both Aqua and Ruby, and maybe Ai too a little bit!
Originally, he was Tommy Innis, a sick orphan who'd spent nearly his whole life in hospital under the care of Doctors Sam and Ponk(they both have the role of Goro, though not Aqua).
He dies right before his 16th birthday, and on the same day is reborn as Tommy Craft, the son of superstar actress Kristin Trix and famous artist/sculptor Philza Craft. Tommy's a huge fan of both, but he didn't know they were married bc it was kept under wraps. He's really happy he gets a second chance at life though! He wanted to be an actor/singer/whatever-involves-artistic-talent, but he was too sick to do any of it properly- except maybe writing.
Also, Technoblade Craft is his teenage(?) uncle who's already making a name for himself in writing & various sports. Tommy is a fan of him too. Hehe👍
So anyway, Innis!Tommy used to be online friends with this one guy, idk which guy it's gonna be yet. Let's call him Guy for now.
Guy was an aspiring movie director, he* and Tommy often talked about how Tommy would appear in Guy's movie, and they'd both be super successful, and stuff like that- but Tommy died before any of it could happen...
(*: I'm assuming he's gonna end up being a he? Niki, Hannah and Tina all have roles already, and I'm pretty sure Puffy's gonna be Foolish's mom or something, so yeah.)
But!!! He follows Kristin to one of her movie sets, and lo and behold, the director's his old online best friend!
Guy, being 21(?) now, is rising fast in the movie industry. He has Purpled on set as a child actor, but he makes a spur-of-the-moment decision to have Tommy appear with him. Purpled, who's been acting for a while now, understandably isn't too happy at having to act with a complete newbie.
But turns out, Tommy's a natural! Purpled is kinda jealous, though he's also impressed. (You can probably tell by now, but Purpled is Kana. Kekw) Then Tommy teaches Purpled a bunch of new swear words, much to Kristin's amusement and Guy's exasperation. They become friends-for-the-day after that👍
Uuuuhhhh not entirely sure how things are gonna go from here, but something about Techno nearly getting stabbed? He's fine though DW, it's called Oshi No Ko But Happier AU for a reason! :D

BUT that will come later, for now Tommy's gained quite a reputation as a child actor with tons of potential! Under a pseudonym of course, bc he can't really announce himself as the son of two of the most influential artists of the century, not to mention the nephew of one. He gets to learn how to play a bunch of instruments too! (Innis!Tommy, being a sick orphan, had only gotten to learn a few that were easy/cheap to learn, and could fit in a hospital room.) Techno nearly getting killed puts the family on edge though, so they all agree to keep the acting jobs to a minimum until Tommy's older.
Fast forward to 13 years old, Tommy's just started to attend a super-prestigious school specializing in the arts. Turns out Purpled is here too! But Purpled's changed a lot during the time they didn't see each other. He's a lot less expressive- it reminds Tommy that all of Purpled's roles, during the last few years, have been apathetic acts. Tommy's a bit concerned, but Purpled is in the year above his so Tommy can't really catch him in school.
He makes a friend in writing class though! Their name is Ranboo, he's pretty cool! Ranboo introduces him to Tubbo, who's attending a technology-centered school.
Turns out, Ranboo's older sister, Niki, is friends with Techno. She & her queerplatonic partner, Jack Manifold, are co-leaders of the dance team 'Rocket'. Tommy's been calling them Team Rocket as a joke.
Shenanigans happen! Oh and Tommy's family is still searching for the person that ordered a hit on Techno, because what the f*ck.
Around this time Tommy's accidentally gotten super SUPER famous, and he starts to see that a lot of murders have been happening in the entertainment industry for years. The family lawyers & the authorities hadn't made the connection bc of different methods/seemingly different motives/different culprits, some of whom have been caught- but Tommy thinks there might be a connection. It's kinda irrational, he has no evidence, but murders/murder attempts HAVE been happening more often in the last decade or so than before.
Oh yeah!! I haven't drawn any concept art yet, but I have a list of "star pupils". (no pun intended, I genuinely did not expect that to sound like a pun, what the heck.😅)
If I do get around to drawing some characters for Oshi No Ko But Happier AU, I'll be changing the Star Pupil rules from the original manga/anime.
I'm thinking talent in creation- drawing, painting, writing, etc. - would be four points, shaped like a + sign, while performance- acting, singing, playing instruments, etc. - would be four points, but shaped like an x. Talent in only one aspect of each category- ex. Good at writing but bad at drawing, Good at dancing but average at singing- would be a single line or thin shape.
Additionally, the center of the star would get bigger according to your confidence!
So, Phil and Kristin have four-point stars, with Phil's being a + shape and Kristin's being an x shape. Purpled also has an x-shaped four-point star, but his stars have a big center in childhood and grow small in teenage years- and then grow big again, bc as I keep saying, it's Oshi No Ko But Happier AU. Ranboo has a cat's eye pupil-shaped pupil, while Niki and Jack both have lightning bolt-shaped pupils.
Techno has six-point stars, and Tommy has eight-point stars :) Hopefully I can avoid making them too OP by nerfing them in other aspects lol.

Sun king theory: Are the people from the old world not humans? Is this the basis for the fall of Sarcean? Let me explain. The old world is old enough that plate tectonic changes so that land that used to be land is now ocean and etc evidence visander not being able to read the maps and also the gate opening underwater. The last time plate tectonics were significantly different enough that maps were significantly unreadable on earth was the Cretaceous period or at least 50-65 million years ago. I can accept fantasy magic etc and assume that magic artifacts are magically preserved but the sun palace is literally buried under a mountain. Additionally, visander in the new world isn't automatically celebrating that the "darkness and evil is defeated" which you would assume is true considering there is like sunlight and humans everywhere or whatever but is immediately angry that the world is covered in humans. He is also mad that he is a human. Visander and Devon are both mad that humans killed everyone and took over, visander is immediately mad that Devon and elizabeth doesn't have their original form and instead looks like a shitty human. Now here comes my theory, the old world is literally so old that the old beings are literally a different species (maybe elves, maybe fae) who can wield magic and humans were a minority pest animals similar to perhaps monkeys. Visander and Devon are the only confirmed light side reborn old ones does not see a world full of humans as a good thing, therefore this means that the side of the 'light' is not specifically pro-human interests and pro making a world that humans want to live in. I do believe that visander believes himself to be on the 'good side and a good person' which would mean he is on the side which results in the best interest of old beings in general. On the other hand, Sarcean has decided to create all reborns into humans, seems fine being a human himself, makes friends and generally likes other human people. Now, if I had the power to die and be reborn to restart my dark empire, why would I not choose my own species? Why did Sarceans reborn empire not just reborn into the next generation of old beings? And here is where I feel the core of the conflict between the sun king and the dark king lies. The old beings were likely a dying race, insulated, long lives, small gene pools, rampant homosexuality ( I kid I kid) like elephants or endangered tigers. The sun king and the ruling elite were likely preserving this status quo, because reasons and maybe it preserves their magic? Sarcean, on the other hand, probably saw the writing on the wall, and first tried to seize power through creating descendents (AKA making the sex with random humans LOL), getting the Lady to also have babies with random humans and starts making human armies through mind control and etc and becoming way too powerful. Sun king is like no way, they fight, there's tons of old beings casualties in the civil war etc. etc. At some point, Sarcean is like I'm over it, you all light side idiots are going to die off anyway so I'm just going to kill myself and my army and restart my best life 50 million years later in some human bodies. Think about it, how is it that the dark king has been actively dormant for at least 50 million years but the light side has still not 'won'? Because they are all gone! Also I'm not a Sarcean did nothing wrong, actually a good guy simp, I actually think Sarcean is just more down to utilize/enslave humans for baby making and army raising and the sun king is pro uh human genocide and old beings domination.

I pretty much explained why here
But to some it up basically, I was just sick of the harassment & constant hateful responses my friends & I Myself would receive almost daily because of the most simple opinions.
Hell I actually remember this one time I was making a rant about 2012 Stockman's character mishandling & I brought up the Rise turtles for 2 seconds & even made a stupid joke about how I'm surprised no one accused the 2012 ones of racial profiling & this one user took it so seriously they harassed me & my followers the rest of the day
I also can't help but find this bit from them ironic considering they could have did the exact same thing with my post & followers.
This isn't even a one time thing too. As I just said. The fandom would just take EVERYTHING too seriously & attack anybody that disagreed with them in any shape or form & a lot of my best friends at the time were victims of cyberbullying because of them including me. Yes I could have ignored them, & most days I did tbh, but every once in a while there was always that one miserable person that just wanted to PERSONALIZE their attacks to me just because I said I didn't like Apriltello or something & they made their insults PERSONAL, to the point where I couldn't help but NOT ignore it. I already suffer from Anxiety and Depression & EXTREMELY low self esteem to the point where I second guess my talents. From my art to my appearance to even questioning why I still exist. If I should even STILL exist.. At that point in 2021 when I deactivated Baxterstockmanismyson I had already been going through enough stressful situations in my life, worrying about a ton of real life personal stresses in my life. And the unnecessary bullying from the fandom consisting of grown ass adults mind you was the last thing I needed. I had actually received yet another hateful message in my askbox because of one of my hot takes the day before I deactivated & it honestly fucked me up majorly so it was the last straw. I deactivated & I overall QUIT & Left the fandom entirely ever since, I just didn't see the point in staying anymore when there's little to zero good memories in it.
I would be lying if I didn't say I did miss some aspects. The one thing I missed the most being Baxter himself. Any version of him. Especially considering he's actually the entire reason I even got into TMNT in the first place (but a story for another time). He's beyond my favorite character, he's my comfort one, my boy ever since I was 12. Then Mutant Mayhem was announced along with the fact that Baxter was in it (& played by FUCKING Giancarlo Esposito) my interest was peaked to say the least. Especially after I found out he looked like this
I'd even say it was honestly the only reason why I saw the movie (even if he was only in it for 4 minutes) which I admit even outside of Baxter, I did end up enjoying it. It was also nice to talk about tmnt again to my Girlfriend & a once mutual friend at the time. Just making it our own personal bubble having zero contact with the fans, especially as I saw literally NOTHING changed just by people's reactions to Mutant Mayhem April smfh. So I assumed it was the right choice.
Another year went by. Things are different once again, that mutual friend I mentioned earlier is...no longer our friend.. and it was back to radio silence in terms of anything turtle related. I had started collecting figures at this point in time & with the release of Human 1987 Baxter & Mirage on the way, I figured it wouldn't hurt to FINALLY add Baxter to my shelf like I always wanted to years ago. Even finally start making custom figures for him that don't exist & it was a fun, exhausting but also therapeutic experience in a way. Especially getting the chance to finally look back at the mad scientist all the way from day one. From schulpting, to talking about him & even looking up other perspectives on him. Even if it was mostly misconceptions like always when it comes to him. And it got to the point where I wanted to let out an outlet to just really let out Stockman talk & facts about the guy that no one knew or already did but with a story behind it. Even taking inspiration from AskSpideypool's @ sciderman & their blog being the most dedicated blog to really get & understand Wade Wilson & Peter Parker with pages worth of history to back up the knowledge. It's honestly how I feel with Baxter Stockman if I'm being legit with you. So about maybe 3 months later or so, I decided to create this new blog, a new start. A blog to just really share & show all I know about Baxter & even find other people that feel the same way. Just a little Baxter bubble that I can have & feel safe in. It's also why you noticed I haven't shared NON Baxter stuff on here yet. To put it short. I'm not really back in the TMNT fandom. Sure I'll post about Baxter Stockman. But that's the ONLY thing I'll go as far as posting. I wasn't too far off when I said I only watched MM for Stockman & the fact that the fandom hasn't changed their ways based on MM April's reception.
I want absolutely nothing to do with the fandom's drama or possible drama the second I step into current TMNT events & I share my thoughts on them even if I had thoughts anyway, I honestly don't really care anymore aside from Baxter.
To sum it up: Unless it involves Baxter, I genuinely don't give a shit. So a heads up if I'm ever asked about something non Stock related like my thoughts on this video game or this ship ect I'm gonna ignore it. I just don't have the mental strength for the drama anymore. And it's not like the fandom itself even cares about Baxter let alone care enough to get mad over a hot take about him which I've yet to see (aside from some 30/40 something year old idiots on Instagram & Twitter that genuinely believed he was always a white guy & him being black is new) so I feel safe in my Stockbubble.
Anyway, hope that clears things up. Both why I left & how this new blog works.

you roll your eyes with a smirk. “another one, jim? tell me, has any of them promised you some pussy yet tonight?”
“oi, fuck off,” the man in front of you huffs. “it’s called being a gentleman.”
you scoff, shaking your head, but continue to pour five tequila shots anyway. jim, your thirty-five year old regular, was always unlucky when it came to finding dates, often keeping company with whatever gaggle of sorority girls caught his eye or happened to catch on that he was easily manipulated. you watched every friday night for 1) your own amusement, 2) being nice to jim granted great tips even though you had to deny his many advances, and 3) you needed to make sure the bastard wasn’t actually a creep to any of these young girls.
“whatever you say, james.”
you turn to update his tab when a familiar voice pipes up behind you.
“what kind of mezcal do you have?”
your head whips to the source of the voice. you lock eyes with a pair of familiar brown ones, though you aren’t sure where his face is from. a step closer and the boyishness in his face shows much clearer under the lamplight.
“peter? peter parker?”
“hey,” he chuckles.
“thought you were at MIT or whatever.”
“you know it’s the summer time, right?” he raises a brow. something about his appearance is more refined, hardened compared to the last time you saw him. when you had last seen peter parker, you were both in graduation gowns and you’d watched him walk the stage to take his diploma. he had been holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand, cheek to cheek with michelle jones while his aunt may had an arm around his neck. you didn’t have the courage to congratulate him, let alone tell him about your two-year crush, and then he’d vanished before your eyes. seeing him now was like being inside a dream.
“right,” you blink at him, clearing your throat to make an attempt back at professionalism. “oh! uh, we’ve got peloton de la muerte, don amado…”
“i’ll just get a mezcal mule with whatever you prefer,” he interrupts. you nod with a sheepish smile.
you can feel his eyes scanning your body as you make his drink, which has your back straightening like a tree.
“on the house,” you murmur as you set the glass in front of him.
“what? really?”
“it’s not every day you get a midtown alum at your bar,” you shrug, leaning your elbow on the counter. you hope he doesn’t see right through you.
“surprising. i thought you’d see tons considering how many of them stay in manhattan,” peter shrugs.
he’d made you nervous before, back in high school, mostly because he was so unprecedented and you were so timid and stuck in the shadows. meanwhile, peter exuded pure sunlight with his bashfulness, his kindness. it didn’t particularly set in the person in front of you, though. maybe it had been two or three years since graduation, but at the moment, it feels like you’re talking to a new version of the boy you once spent countless decathlon practices with.
“it’s good money, the bartending?” he quips with curiosity as he sips his drink.
“it’s enough for the summer. lots of lonely men need a couple drinks and some female company.”
“better than trying to save the world.”
“what do you mean?”
peter doesn’t answer. he merely flashes you a smile that definitely hides something underneath, but you don’t know him enough to pry. to be fair, you hardly know him at all. you only have the idea of him that you’d made up during your high school years, and even now, you assume that you’ll probably go home and dream of made-up versions of him. his presence is like a test to your psyche at the moment. nothing significant — nothing worth giving your time to ever stayed. you didn’t expect peter to, either.
that is, until he orders more drinks. a mezcal mule, a white wine, a ginger ale mixed with whatever your finger lands on when you close your eyes. it’s a weekday night, so most of your usual patrons have fucked off for the night, leaving you to wipe down the counters and sweep before the clock even hits one.
“gotta kick you out, parker.”
“who, me? where am i supposed to go now?” his voice has a begging tone to it that makes you want to sink into quicksand. or maybe you’re drunk, because the shots he was ordering were for you. he’d slip them towards you, insisting that you needed to loosen up on this tuesday night, and you could never say no to free alcohol. he’d given you a fat tip after all.
“i live a few blocks from here. come with. you can wait there when you figure out a way home,” you giggle, pulling on your corduroy button down over your crop top as you head out the door. as you lock up the bar, peter watcheS you with acute attention — he notices the way your eyes are half-lidded after a few shots, the casual slump of your shoulders, the pixie-like cadence of your voice when you talk about something you’re excited about. he thinks you’re adorable.

once you’re able to sit down on the couch in your apartment, peter plops down next to you sloppily. you end up intertwining legs in the most casual way. you don’t even notice, really.
“you’re different than what you used to be, peter parker.”
“how so?” he chuckles.
“scary,” you mumble.
“huh? sorry, i couldn’t hear you,” peter murmurs, grabbing your head from your neck closer to him. you hitch your breath, which lodges itself in his throat when you feel his calloused fingertips. the feeling excites you, has all your neurons firing in your body.
“you’re less nerdy now.”
“i’ve been through a lot,” he purrs into your ear, and no, it’s not like the nerdy peter you once knew at all. it’s the husky voice of someone who knows what he’s doing, someone who’s willing to take what he wants. you hope he does. you hope it’s you.
you take in a breath, looking at the wall in front of you instead of him in an attempt to calm your nerves, but he doesn’t let you. he merely turns your head to plant a kiss on your mouth gently, so delicately as if he’s trying to touch the fluff of a dandelion without all of it floating away. he grins into the kiss when you reciprocate with passion, tongue exploring the inside of his mouth and feeling the taste of mezcal, of lime, of ginger.
when he emerges, his brown eyes are hooded with desire.
“this okay?”
you nod. “you can do whatever you want to me,” you say breathlessly. his cocky smile shows that he’s willing to test that theory.

OTGW collection update :)
Through a series of just wild luck, I ended up getting my hands on Tome of the Unknown and volumes 1-4 of the trade paperback versions of the ongoing comics all in a few weeks. I'm only missing volume 5 now, which I saw in a store a few months ago when i was on a road trip. I didn't buy it at the time because I assumed I'd never get the rest and volume 5 is by far the worst. We might end up going back that way, so I can pray it's still there...
Volumes 1-3 I got from someone's personal collection, so they're all high quality and well taken care of. One thing I didn't know is that the trade paperbacks collate the stories together. In the comics, you would get a Greg/Wirt story followed by a Anna or a school story, but in the paperbacks, all the Greg/Wirt ones are put together and then the other ones are. (great! I never need to read about that stupid elephant again -- I mean--)
Volume 4 is a former library copy, and it definitely shows. You can see the spine is bent in the side picture, but it also naturally opens to a random page in the middle. There were a ton of stickers on it which were a huge pain to get off, but I managed without damaging it. Also UGHH why is the spine different than the others in the series?! I can see in pictures online that Volume 5 is the same as Volumes 1-3!! WHY!!!
Okay, so! Tome. Most expensive and hardest to find one -- I nabbed it for about $30 from a completely random ebay listing that was super undetailed and called it "volume 1," which was weird. I knew that Tome didn't actually have a name on the cover and that was just what it was sold as online, but "volume 1" was bizarre.
But it came in and there is a big one on the spine, and also a tiny Wirt face, and also no Kaboom logo. I can confirm from another ebay listing that those are usually there:

The book itself also smells terrible, which is, you know, exactly what you want in a book. Yay. But yeah, the answer to the mystery of why it's weird is pretty clear when you look at the back -- this is the British copy.
Confirmed from the inside, where there's a library stamp (that the seller DIDN'T MENTION mumble grumble) that identifies it as a former library book of Herfordshire, the publishing info says it's from Titan Comics and lists a London address, and the Cartoon Network ad at the back tells you to go to cartoonnetwork.co.uk.
So, that's neat! There doesn't seem to be a discernible difference to the content in the book, but I haven't read it all the way through.
That just leaves volume 5, then I'll have all the published books. That plus the Beatrice Titan figure are my last major goals for the collection, with getting more comic printings as a sort of perpetual stretch goal.
Oh, also, in sleuthing a bit online for more information, I can tragically report they're still making Sherlock manga in the year 2023. I learned this information against my will and now you have to know too.

Hey there! I hope you’re having a great start to your weekend! Wanted to get your thoughts on why you think JK has gone completely radio silent ? My personal thoughts are that he is just done right now with the level of toxicity out there over every little move he makes. I feel like he’s in protective of mode of himself, Jimin, and the other members. I can’t even imagine being under that big of a microscope with so many just waiting to pounce the moment he says/does/posts something. He’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. It’s got to be crushing not to be able to show his support for the members, especially Jimin, publicly. It makes me so sad. He’s always been so vocal with his actions about his feelings for him 💜💜He’s such a good guy, a kind and caring soul. I know sometimes he appears aloof and spaced out but I don’t think this is one of those times. If he felt he could post without causing distress (because of haters) to Jimin I think he would do it in a heartbeat 💜
Hi! I know you are new. So I'm not going to get into a ton of everything your said. You weren't here, so you won't recongize the pattern. But both JK and Jimin have been the least active members on social media since 2019. When they first started their official Instagrams, JK had a lot of fun playing with the new app, especially using it to connect with ARMYs and keep entertained during all of their times being quarantined. But otherwise he hasn't ever been super active. Jimin was pretty active pre 2019, but since then, has slowed down a lot. You could come up with a million theories as to why, including just, he has gotten older and it's not a priority at this point. JK was super active towards the end of 2022, as he was promoting his different activities and was garnering attention for it (different Collabs, Dreamers, etc). Jimin is now super active as he has been promoting his own stuff and making sure he keeps his name out there as his projects drop. Dior, W Korea, Vibe Collab and his new album coming soon. When it's JKs turn for album promotion, you'll start seeing him pop back up all over SM too. And when Jimins promotions are over, his presence on SM will slow back down too I'd bet. JK even said the last time we saw him on a live stream, that after he finishes up with Dreamers, he doesn't have much of a schedule or projects to focus on. So social media promotions aren't something he is going to worry about. And not being on social media is not the same thing as not showing your best friends support for what they are doing. I'm positive all the members have wished Jimin and Jhope well on their Paris trip and were super excited for them. No matter if a post was posted or not.
In 2017, Yoongi (who has taken to Instagram and loving it lately) was so avoidant of social media and their Twitter account that Jimin once even posted a photo of him saying "he's alive" since ARMY hadn't seen him in so long and Jimin saw lmfao
Basically, being absent from SM is not abnormal. And while we might miss them, it's not something worth theorizing over. It's normal, especially for JK, it's fine. It's something newer fans might not always remember as they showed up during a time where JK was making ARMYs question their sanity over how active he was being. Lol man basically barely posted at all in 2020. There are tweets from 2019 about how much ARMY misses JK but they understand his perceived "break from SM" that they assumed was a break since the man barely posted. Lol he posted a jikook selca once, a gym photo once, in 2021 he posted a monthly Selca and everyone was celebrating getting to see JK more than ever 😂
Basically I don't think he is worried about it either way, and therefore neither am I. I do miss him though! Just like I missed Jimin so much last year too! BTS solo careers and their presence online during them will be a new thing we have to get accustomed to I guess lol
