Bedtime Tales

pairing: Wonka!Willy Wonka x literary nerd!gn!reader warnings/tags: Wonka spoilers!, just a lighthearted story, reader being a huge nerd totally not inspired by myself no... summary: reader finds out that not only has Willy never learned how to read, he was also never read to as a child, so they make a deal a/n: I'm lowkey obsessed with the new Wonka film, I can't even learn for major tests without seeing connections wc: 942

"What do you mean you can't read?" You asked in astonishment as you stare at the chocolatier in front of you.

"I just can't..." Willy said rather matter-of-factly, shrugging his shoulders as he took in the shocked expression on your face. "I never needed to, so I never learned it."

"Would've come in handy at zoo," Noodle muttered under her breath, "We nearly got eaten by a tiger."

"Keyword: nearly," Willy emphasised, "I've nearly been eaten by a lot of things, and they only got as much as a nibble."

"Okay, yeah, that's... that's not really comforting," You replied, shaking your head as if to process the thought, "So, you don't how to read... but at least you've been read to when you were a child, right? Right...?"

But Willy only shook his head, making your eyes widen more. "You've never been... right, okay, uhm... right, yes..." You're stumbling over your words, trying to form a coherent sentence and failing miserably. "Right, well... I'm sorry, but how has someone with so much imagination never been read to? Where do your ideas come from if not from stories?"

"I don't know, they just... form in my mind?" Willy answered, not sure how to respond to your questions. "I think you're making this a bigger deal than it has to be."

"Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. the Chocolatier," You reply sarcastically as you look him dead in the eye, "I didn't realise that you were capable of such great things. Why would you even need to read? You already traveled around the world, so there's no need for you to immerge yourself into another."

"Are you sure she's still talking about my non-ability to read?" Willy asked Noodle, still confused but also slightly intrigued by your apparent affinity for reading.

"Hey, you pissed off the literature nerd, not me," Noodle simply answered before going back to her chores.

"Okay, you're exaggerating, I'm not pissed off," You clarify as you shake your head, "I'm just... baffled by the fact that you've never bothered with anything related to reading."

Truth be told, they could've gone around in circles like that forever if it hadn't been for Mrs. Scrubbit checking everyone's attendance and sending them to their separate rooms.

You leaned against the door and sighed, tired from yet another exhausting day at the bleachers. You sat down on your bed and let your head rest in your hands. Having been at the laundromat and bleachers for a few years now and still having several years ahead of you, you had given up on dwelling over your miserable predicament.

So instead, you got out a book from your suitcase, one of your very few possessions. Seeing as the lightbulb above your head kept on flickering and wouldn't provide much light, you moved over to the window, where the moon casted a dim glow over the pages.

After a while, you heard a soft psst coming from the window of the room across from yours. You looked up, only for your eyes to catch the gaze of the brilliant, illiterate young man.

"So, I had a talk with Noodle, and she offered to learn me how to read," Willy said, "She said it would be necessary if this whole chocolate selling operation works through."

"Well, that's a nice offer," You reply, "And I agree with her. You won't always be able to depend on others to do the reading for you."

"Now that you mention it, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing," He comments, "I mean, you seemed to be a advocate for being read to, right?"

You can't help but lightly chuckle. "There's a massive difference between having someone read for you and someone read to you, Mr. Wonka," You say, "One creates a depency, the other provides an escape."

"Well, if that's the case, let's hope that prisoners aren't being read to," Willy joked, lightly grinning when he saw a faint smile creep up your lips. "See, who needs to read when a clever choice of words can make even the most stubborn of people crack a smile?"

"Who are you calling stubborn, Mr 'My near-death experience doesn't mean I should learn how to read'?" You ask rethorically as you raise and eyebrow at him, "Besides, it's often a clever choice of words that makes reading so worthwhile."

"Well, I suppose you'll have to prove that to me in order for me to believe it," He argued, secretly hoping you'd concede.

"Oh, is that how it has to be?" In your mind, you were somewhat thrilled to indulge and with that, be able to share something you were passionate about. But what's the fun in simply saying okay? "Well, I suppose if you asked kindly enough I would think about it..."

"Alright, alright..." Willy said as he stifled a smirk while rolling his eyes. "Would you, please, read to me so I may realise at last what I've been missing out on?"

"Because you asked so politely and totally weren't forced to do so, I will indulge you, Mr. Wonka," You say, fighting back a smile of your own.

And so, you start to read, occasionally looking up only to find fim listening attentively. Right before the story reaches its climax, you shut the book.

Being surprised by the sudden halt, Willy snaps out of his hazy state of drifting off into the story and looks confused.

"Hey, why did you stop?" He asks in astonishment, "How am I supposed to know how the story ends?"

"I guess we'll find out another time," You say, a slight smirk forming on your lips. "Good night, Willy."

Hi hi! I was wondering if you could write some fluff for Ace with a male reader that is struggling coming off his ADHD meds and sleeping properly. Or something simpler like Ace being with the reader while the reader works on their personal projects and keeping him on task, reader still has ADHD. More details could be that the reader is apart of the Whitebeard crew. I don’t mind what form you write it in, how long you want to write it is up to you. I did not know how to word this correctly and I am extremely sorry if it is completely unclear or entirely wrong requesting format. English might be my first language but that does not mean I can make sense of English's extensive grammar that is utterly flawed and quite irritating.

Thank so much for taking time out of your life to take people’s requests and write them instead of just ignoring us. ☆Ace helping his s/o struggling with ADHD

CW : m!reader, reader has ADHD, fluff, using of DF in some fluff way

WC : around 700

Ace definitely knows how to take care of others. He is both a commandant and a big brother, and he takes his position very seriously. He used to keep an eye on Luffy during his childhood. So he’s always watching for you, even from afar, to make sure you're alright. Ace has no problem with your ADHD since he has to deal with Luffy anyway. Even if his brother doesn't have ADHD, some things you may do may sound familiar to him.

He would be unsure at first. He doesn't know a lot about ADHD and is stressed about bothering you with possibly uncomfortable questions. Ace is likely overthinking and afraid of being annoying, because he always thinks he's not worthy of being loved. He would seek Marco's aid in learning the fundamentals by reading books on the subject. He wants to do his best.

He will ask you for the specifics. With a flushed and embarrassed expression. Let him know if it's alright and if he's not bothering you.

Reminding you to take your medication would quickly become a part of his own routine. And, even if he's not around, he would make sure to leave a cute note with some random drawing, like a Stickman and some… hearts, but it doesn't look like hearts. Although he doesn't know how to draw, it's nonetheless cute.

If you struggle to go to bed early because of hyperfocus and overthinking, he would just say something like "I'm going to bed. You come with me?" He doesn't want to constantly remind you about your ADHD because you're more than that. So he wouldn't bring the subject up all the time.

You're treating him like a normal guy and not like "the son of someone" so he would do the same to you.

Depending on whether you struggle with physical touch or not, he would or just lay close to you, trying to soothe your potential overthinking with random jokes and sweet nothings. Or just using his DF to make you count the fire sheep. What a cutie. And if you don't struggle with physical touch, then prepare yourself for a lot of cuddles. He would use his DF to gently run his hot palms over your skin, making sure you're comfortable again.

And if you really struggle to sleep, then he doesn't mind chatting and learning more about your hyper fixations. Ace likes that kind of stuff, and honestly, he's just so happy that you're actually just… talking to him.

Imagine his cute laughter every time you say something funny.

He might fall asleep randomly while you're talking due to his narcoleptic tendencies. But overall, he likes long-night conversations because, as you know, often the night conversations are the most intimate, the ones where two people bond closely.

When you need to focus on your work, again it depends. If you're in a hyperfixation mood, honestly, he would just look at you and randomly smile because he thinks you're adorable when you're that serious. He won't bother you since you're in your own world. But if you're hyper-focused for hours, then he would come from time to time to remind you to stay hydrated or to eat something.

"Y/N, look, I've made some grilled fish" while placing the plate in front of you.

During your night work, Ace would leave a small candle on your desk that he would light himself as a small reminder of him. He's always with you this way. "I want a goodnight kiss" with a cute pout before leaving you alone.

If you're having trouble with your tasks, he'll remind you not to procrastinate too much. Because he knows that it would just stress you more and more as the deadline approaches.

He would help you take some breaks from time to time. "Okay y/n, that's enough work, let's visit this island together"

Once you come back to work, he doesn't interfere much. Just helps you here and there as best as he can. He doesn't want to distract you. "Get outta there, you goddamn pineapple, he's working" when Marco randomly comes to talk to Ace.

And, once you are finally done with all your duties, he would proudly lend you his hat with the warmest smile ever. "I knew you could do it. That's my sweet boy, always so brave."

Ace is so wholesome, help.

Yep yep. I'm always down for asks. But because I reblog a lot of them sometimes back to back, I just want you to include the question next time so I'm getting the right one. But I'm going to assume you mean the most recent ask game.

So,

9. The most difficult thing they've been through together:

Probably the first year they were living together when Carter took them in. Carter never planned on marrying or having kids, so his home would've been a total bachelor pad. Carter would've been (and still is) very used to doing things his way and not having to account for anyone else. Once he agreed to take MC in, he'd be very aware he'd have to change and commit 100% to that, but it'd still be an adjustment. (All I can imagine is Carter reading like 100 parenting books and throwing most of them in the garbage lol)

10. How do they make up after a fight?

Would probably depend on the fight and who was right/wrong. I don't actually see them arguing a lot (maybe once MC got more into the obnoxious teen years) because Carter's general approach to "parenting" would be to sit and TRY to talk it out (I mean, he was a government agent, he probably has training in negotiations/conflict resolution, which just brought to mind a hilarious mental image). Now, if it was a situation where Carter was outright WRONG, that'd be different. He'd be good at talking things through, not so great at apologies. He'd still DO it, but he wouldn't be good at it. I imagine buying dessert would become a shorthand for "I know I was wrong and I'm sorry".

50. Is there anything that scares them about their friendship/relationship?

Carter had a really shitty childhood and a father that was absent from day one unless he wanted something. What would scare Carter the most is becoming THAT guy who makes a commitment to a kid and then doesn't follow through. Probably at least half of the reason why Carter would never want MC to call them dad or anything like it.

What would the LIs wedding would mc look like?

This question is a little bit tough, since it depends on the MC! So we'll just share what the LI's ideal wedding would look like.

Lincoln:

He'd want something super small. More than like twenty people and he'd start feeling overwhelmed. He'd only want his closest friends and family members there (and by family not his dad, but like cousins or grandparents on his mother's side. yeah i don't think matty is invited srry). honestly he probably wouldn't mind just getting married at city hall with only you and like, three other people, but if you don't do that he'd probably just want to rent an air bnb with a beautiful yard and have a small reception outside followed by a catered dinner with his favorite foods. He'd definitely wear a barong and incorporate some other filipino marriage traditions into his wedding, such as lighting the unity candle and eating rice cakes. After dinner, you'd spend the night dancing with your few guests until the two of you leave for your night alone ;) That being said, this is Lincoln's ideal wedding. If you wanted something different, he'd be willing to follow your lead and go along with what you want for the wedding, as long as it's not too big or crazy.

Amalia

She would want something formal, nice, organized, and beautiful. She would be happy to take total control of planning. There's really no need for a wedding coordinator if Amalia's the one you're marrying. She'd want a lot of people to be there -- her family and friends and professors and teachers in her life who mean a lot to her. She'd find the perfect, most beautiful venue and spend hours there, figuring out where everything would go and how it would all fit together. She'd love to have an outdoor wedding with beautiful gardens and fountains. Her vows would be incredibly romantic, heartfelt, and eloquent, and everyone would start crying. After you get married, you'd sit down to eat at fancy lovely tables with place settings. You'd have all types of fancy rices and freshly made juice and lasagnas and chicken and beef and salad, basically all you can eat. The different bridal parties would perform fun, sexy dances for each other and after that, the party would quickly turn up in excitement. At the end, you'd get driven off in your car together and head off to your honeymoon ;)

Abel

Above everything else, Abel wants his wedding to be fun. It probably wouldn’t be anything particularly fancy, but he would want a nice heartfelt ceremony. Something small if only because neither Abel nor MC have very many family or friends. Still, they’d invite everyone, and Abel would definitely shed a tear during the ceremony. Afterwards he’d have an after party that goes down as one for the record books. A band, mariachis, endless dancing, piles of food, nonstop alcohol, a massive cake big enough for everyone, and another just in case. He would spend most of the night with MC, twirling you around the dance floor. He’d dance with each of his siblings and then all of them together. He’d also drag all of his closest friends onto the dance floor, and yes this means the ILW crew. He’d probably get pretty tipsy, and be the happiest drunk on earth, gushing to everyone about how awesome his spouse is. Everyone has fun at Abel’s wedding, otherwise he doesn’t consider it a success.

Jocelyn

Jocelyn wouldn’t have many preferences when it comes to a wedding between herself and MC. She already knows that she wants to spend the rest of her life with MC, so this is just a formality so that the rest of the world knows it too. But if she had to choose a few things, she’d want the wedding to be somewhere meaningful in hers and MC’s relationship. Her friends (which really just consists of the ILW crew) and her family would be invited, so it would likely be pretty small. She’d get food catered from her favorite restaurant, and would have a live band for music at the reception. She’d dance for hours upon hours with her new spouse, and when people start to head out she’d sneak away with you for some alone time >:) As for her culture, there's a tradition in Chinese weddings where the bride's new shoes can't touch the ground until she gets to their new home, so the groom has to carry her from her old home into their wedding home. Jocelyn might not care for tradition but she will carry her spouse alllll the way home (picture her carrying MC up 17 flights of stairs to their apartment). But in all honestly, she’d be perfectly happy with whatever MC wants to do because all she cares about is being MC’s for the rest of their lives.

I mean... I'd personally love it *g*

I am not sure how literal the show will translate the relationships especially for Armand and Marius in relation to the others though.

One of the craziest things about it all is that Armand wanted Lestat (badly) and LESTAT took one good look at him and noped out. (Lestat. Like, you cannot make that up^^). That said, I have theorized before that they could also take the route of crash-and-burn for Lesmand, which would still work I think. These vampires have sex... and they share blood. And the latter definitely happens in the books between them (voluntary and involuntary(!)), so the show might make the assault Armand makes onto Lestat more... "rapey" (for the lack of a better word) than it already is in the books.

And Marius also lets Lestat drink from him... it might include shared beds, who knows (I wouldn't mind *innocent whistling*). It's definitely not out of scope.

So, as with a lot of other things, it depends on where we are in Dubai, and what Armand's relationship to Louis is.

Like, if he is actually keeping Louis prisoner there (as I have seen theorized) there is no way Lestat will take lightly to this (which would negate any threesome between them I think). However, I don't truly see that. I think Louis has holed himself up there, and Armand is trying to help (in his own way). So when Lestat finally shows up in Dubai (in whatever cataclysmic event that is needed for that shift) then all bets are off I think :)

I know people focused a lot on the "infidelity" of season 1 (and, as said, I don't think the directed focus was coincidental), but these relationships... are ever shifting, and not that hung up on "our" morals anymore. Sex is likely a comfort, something nice, while the blood is probably still the most intimate form of sharing.

Of course, with the actual setting of Dubai it also depends on what Armand's and Lestat's actual relationship is. If they are in the Prince Lestat era then there will be some very interesting words that could be spoken. Especially if we get to Blood Communion....

But in that era a threesome is a possibility I think - at the show's version of "the chateau" or "Night Island" (depending).

And Marius would be there then as well.

I could see a threesome between him, Daniel and Armand to be honest. There is some very interesting friction there for those three in the later books as well, and I BET they picked that up for the show.

I don't really see Louis (and so by extension Lestat) entering a threesome with him though. Other than fascination there is never that much interaction between them in the books, and I bet Marius wasn't too happy when Lestat made Louis and Gabrielle those he goes to for council (instead of him).

((There is this interesting passage in PLatRoA, where Lestat muses somewhat testily why Marius puts up with him at all, since he regained so much vitality creating the rulings and constitution, etc. And proposes rulings to Lestat which Lestat then refuses to follow.))

So if we are somewhere in PLatRoA... I don't think Lestat and Louis will enter a threesome with Marius. There is... a rift there, a rift mentioned by Lestat and others, namely that he did not enter to be the pupil to Marius as Marius wanted him to.

This refusal to be what Marius wanted him to be shapes their relationship, as much as Marius' refusal to rescue Armand over the centuries (totally apart from their shared history) shapes theirs. Though the latter relationship definitely found a turning point through Benji and Sybille, eventually. (I'm not a 100% sure we will see them on the show, BUT ... like, Benji = Benjamin = the baby???!!, so one never knows^^).

Soooooo tl:dr; Maybe :)))

It's certainly possible.

Going by GRRM's logic if princesses can't marry someone lowborn bc it's unrealistic, as he was consulted on this likely new Kit's project, wouldn't it be contradictory if Jon (as he's not a bastard) ends up with a random or Val as many have been speculating?

Well, I think we’re gonna have to keep in mind that this sequel is taking place in the Game of Thrones cinematic universe, not ASOIAF which makes it pretty hard to say what can/can’t happen.

And this show isn’t merely in GoT-verse, it’s a direct follow-up and the problem there is that what s7-8 didn't make nonsensical, they left unclear. In s7 I thought it would have made more sense for Jon to have suggested a marriage alliance with Dany (or Tyrion or Davos, our darling matchmakers), but instead D&D had him bend the knee and then had the advisors talk about marriage in s8 when it was totally pointless? Like, Dany had the North, she could use marriage to peacefully bring another region into the fold. So, at that point the logic wasn’t really present and if Kit was influenced by that, where the relationships are distinct from the political situation, I’m not sure that Martin would be able to course correct this until it makes sense with his opinion.

And, more to the point of your question, the confusion in which D&D left everyone means we don’t even know if Jon is still known as Ned’s bastard or if the news of his parentage got out? Varys found out about Jon and attempted to send that information elsewhere, but I don't know that he succeeded? It may only be the Starks, Tyrion, and Sam who know about it, and since D&D didn't include Robb's will, Jon isn't a legitimized Stark either. Of course, D&D did have him riding around on a dragon, so the Northerners might put two-and-two together in the sequel, it all depends on which story Kit wants to tell. The show could open with his parentage being common knowledge, or the show could take place entirely removed from the Northern Lords and be about Jon and the FF where Jon’s parents don’t matter / the political stuff isn’t a consideration.

Now, even if his parentage isn’t known, as a former king, if we’re thinking about the politics, Jon 100% cannot have kids or it would be a threat to Sansa’s reign. Does Kit think that? Idk! And, even if it isn’t common knowledge, since he knows he was the heir to the Iron Throne, you’d think that would make him hesitate as well or his kids/grandkids might be used against the realm. Does Kit think that? Idk! I also don’t know how much Martin will push to make any of this reasonable. I believe he gives notes on scripts, I don’t know that he gets to give an emphatic no to any developments? And even if they all wanted to bring it closer to ASOIAF because of those developments in GoT, they may be screwed.

As in, in the books it’s possible Jon refuses to be legitimized a Stark or crowned king which means he would have the freedom to marry/have kids without it being a threat to Sansa/her kids after the dust settles. If that’s Martin’s endgame, he might allow it even though in GoT, not only is Jon a legitimate Targ, he was also KitN. So yeah, I would agree with you that marrying a rando doesn’t quite work in that world, but then again, Jon has no political position, so maybe they’ll decide it doesn’t matter? Martin can’t walk back what D&D did, and maybe he’ll be happy with something let’s a little less offensive than s7-8. And they are really leaning into Jon being a Snow for the show (title, Kit made some comments...), so it’s hard to say.

Going back to the confusion in s8 tho, not only do we not know who knows what about Jon’s ancestry, we ended the show not even knowing if Jon was in the Watch/leading it, or if Bran was telling him he was free to go live with the FF which is, to some, what the closing shot indicated. I had one impression, the next day when I got online I saw fans and critics alike all coming to different conclusions, in the months that followed Kit said Jon was with the FF, one of the D’s said he was still in the Watch. I believe different things posted by HBO gave different impressions...It was a mess.

However, Kit’s recent comments made it sound like Jon is at the Wall, and if he’s in the Watch, the question of marriage would be off the table. He could still have an affair, even a kid (insert my previously stated objections), but unless Sansa or Bran (we don’t even know how the North being free impacts things with the Watch) pardons him, he’s not going to be marrying officially even if we do ignore the concerns about him being a former king. I mean, I say that, but I suppose now that the Others are defeated maybe the rules will change/the Watch will evolve? Idk!

Ignoring all the political stuff, Kit’s recent comments in which he made a connection between Cat and his romantic partners in a very negative way made me think he wouldn’t want Jon with a similar woman in his sequel, as the goal seems to be getting Jon healed and happy. That surprised me, and it did make me wonder where Jon’s next love interest would be coming from and doubt that it would be Val when it seemed likely before. While Val isn’t a fighter the same way Ygritte was, she still holds the traditional FF beliefs, she’s already talked about killing a kid and threatened to geld men, she even delivered the “You know nothing, Jon Snow” line once which Kit hates. Obviously they could rewrite her personality, but based on what Kit was saying...I’m not sure that Kit would read her scenes and choose her as the love interest.

All of that being said, in the books Stannis intends to legitimize Jon and marry him to Val,because he perceived Val as a princess, making her a viable prospect. Jon attempts to explain that Stannis is misunderstanding the FF by calling her such, and we know that he’s right so this really isn’t a great plan. But, Martin did include a character planning to marry Jon and Val for certain political ends which I believe was the point of the quote about the princess not being able to marry a stable boy. Highborn people marry other highborns because it’s about benefiting the family/doing something for a specific advantage/accumulating wealth or power or solidifying peace etc, so depending on which scenario they start with, I suppose Kit & Co. could try to run with that? As in, they could take the idea of Jon and a woman of the FF marrying to try to help the two cultures coexist? At the behest of Bran and Sansa who first pardon Jon an then offer him his own lands? A lot of us thought the idea of the FF going back beyond the Wall was odd, so maybe they’re thinking about going with a settling the Gift idea and this could be included with that.

I suppose I just don’t know what the limits are for the writers and none of the cast or Martin himself have criticized s7-8, so it’s really hard to know what to think!

Im sorry your theory about Rakepick having a child didn’t turn out to be canon. I mean ngl I’m kinda relieved because I wouldn’t wish anyone to have someone like Rakepick as a mother seeing how she’s shown she’s not afraid to traumatise, hurt and even kill children. But at the same time it could’ve been interesting and given her a more human side. It had the potential to at least. And anyway just because Rakepick’s bad doesn’t mean her child has to be the same way, I am kinda curious to know what a child who has a parent by the likes of her would be like. Like yeah they could just follow in her footsteps or they could turn out to be better than her.

At this point, I don't even necessarily think Rakepick being a double agent would be what's best for the story or anything, and the emotional desire for that twist has long since worn off...but it still would have made more sense and explained a lot. As in, stuff that's being revealed even now.

The vials. Rakepick kept Olivia's memories in her own office. She hid them there. Supposedly so she could have some kind of leverage on R, but if that's true, why didn't she pack them before she took the gang into the Portrait Vault? It seems that she knew she wouldn't be coming back, so what happened there? Her wiping Olivia's memories could have just as easily been about protecting her as it could have been taking her out of the equation. With everything we know about Rakepick, why wouldn't she just kill Olivia, in that situation? What if she always planned to restore Olivia's memories and/or left them for Olivia/Jacob/Dumbledore to find. For crying out loud, they're even labeled. See, Rakepick doesn't have to be secretly good or anything, but sometimes her decisions just don't make a lot of sense if she isn't actually a spy.

Another example - the Two Way Mirror. One can assume she was just talking to Verucca or Peregrine in that scene, but if that's the case, why not show us? Peregrine openly admits to being in on this plan the moment we confront him, so why keep the identity of the other half of this conversation as a mystery? I know R is a mysterious organization and all but they're also not exactly a secret anymore, and with Peregrine now being unmasked, aren't we a bit beyond that stage?

It's alright if the Mother! Rakepick Theory didn't wind up being true. Honestly, it was always a longshot, and was just as much wishful thinking on my part as it was a concept that could actually happen. It could also depend on whether or not Fiore was actually alive. If this was a mother desperately obeying the people who have her child...or a mother playing the long game to burn down the group that killed her daughter. Though that might have made her a little too much like Snape if the latter case were true. Which is a nice segue into a thought bubble I had a little while ago - I hadn't given much thought as to the identity of Fiore's father. But the very first time I actually considered it, the answer immediately fell into place. I said to myself, "Oh, it's Snape. Duh." And then my mind was blown.

I know, I know, age gaps and timelines and whatever, but keep in mind that Fiore is younger than Jacob's Sibling. I sure as hell don't see her being born while Lily is still alive. As to how Snape x Rakepick (Snakepick?) would actually happen, I'd need to figure that out, as well as how Snape feels about her - assuming he even knows that Fiore is his. He might not. As for her actual age, I'm thinking she's somewhere between Bea's year and Harry's year. She could be an OC for the original books, who knows. I mean Year 8 is totally gonna be a thing right?

I'm ambivert,I'm very laid back and prefer to go with the flow of life but sometimes come off as ego-centric and domineering. I have to admit I’m a lazy person who prefers having a leisure more than anything else. But once i find my motivation I'm actually pretty hardworking, I won't stop or take breaks until i completely finish what I started. I mostly spends my time as a stoic and a calm person and i might even come off as apathetic towards the world around me [even tho I’m not]. I’m usually perceived as being insensitive because i generally prefer to deal with emotions in my own head rather than openly [and somehow I'm still well liked?!] tbh I often think I’m above others, yet I am always willing to acknowledge that I’m a total piece of shit [very rarely tho] Sometimes i have fantasies and ideals that I want to start creating or becoming but i give myself a reality check and let the dream fade away. I’m very innovative but still choose the practical route a lot. It’s easy for me to create goals and envision the end results but it’s ridiculously hard for me to remain committed to the process. I have a very big ego but one word alone is enough to destroy it. i Will never admit my wrong, unless internally. I'm playful around people i like [friends, family, classmates] and if I believe I'm right I'll passive agressivly fight you to prove my point [even if I'm wrong]. Like i said i have hard time committing to something i loose interest, motivation and get bored rather easily. If I'm stressed about something i bottle everything up and worry about it alone. Not because I don't want to burden other or anything simply because my pride and ego is getting in my way. I'm not really a jealous person and even if i get jealous i keep it to myself and try my best to hide it. I tend to get bored of things easily or i get insecure that I won't be able to complete it and overthinking things and give up on it so i try not to plan ahead. I notice negative traits in people [myself included] before good traits. I always try to be realistic but my overthinking turns me into negative person. I'm very future orientated person so i pick things depending on how useful it'll be for me in the future. Getting angry, yelling, insulting and being agressive in general is my defense mechanism when I'm sad or in an argument. I'm very prideful and stubborn person I actually like socializing but usually i can't find the topic to talk about with people. I LOVE talking about myself but I'd rather die than share my struggles, feelings and personal things similar to this. I'm taking them to grave. I'm pretty biased person. I hate when people insult me even when they don't mean it and they're jocking not even i insult myself. I'm better at socializing older people than people my age. I like to think that I'm a great listener but I'm insecure about my reactions to their stories. Even if i find it funny i find it hard to express it on my face. I like horror genre [movies, books, analogue horror and etc], watching movies, listening to true. I love music especially indie and rock music. i like Researching and learning more about myself. I love reading greek mythology and Japanese urban legends. I'm interested in psychology and philosophy. I also find researching about demonology and ancient religions interesting. I love Victorian/romantic/vampire gothic aesthetic I'm also very in love with gothic novels. I wouldn't really consider this as a hobby cause i do it once or twice a year but i also play volleyball and piano. I also really love spicy food. Red is my favourite colour and cats and snakes are my favourite animals.

As for my idea type I value honesty and loyalty, I'm more attracted [romantically or platonically] to people who are confident in themselves and their abilities. I also value partner/friend that isn't overprotective and allows me my independence and let's me do things my way. Nanami = a stoic person who is not always as calm as you might think. He doesn't show much emotions and deals mainly with his feelings in his head.

Whenever he is right, he will try to prevent anyone from saying that he is wrong. Let them fight him, but if he knows that he is absolutely right, he will fight for it so that someone else will finally understand it.

He will do everything himself. Unless he has someone next to him who blows everything on him. Then he will give half of the work to that person anyway. After all, he will never take over the responsibilities of someone else. And he will say firmly no.

He will not burden his relatives and people whom he knows that they need rest. He will take care of everything that will make people close to him have better life. He takes responsibility for it.

Besides, everyone who gets to know him better notices that if he likes someone, he will be very polite.

He tries to be nice to people around him, even if they irritate him. This is his good manners and gentleman behavior.

He often looks at the negative qualities in people, but he also knows the good ones, so it all levels out. It is important that someone will not run away from him immediately when he realizes that something is irritating for him.

Also a realist who has goals in life and dreams, but focuses on thinking about what he is going through right now.

• Talk to him about yourself. If you like it, he accepts it. Especially when you want to talk to him. Conversation is much better when getting to know each other, and that is a really important point in his life. If you couldn't get along, it would probably be worse between the two of you. It is definitely better to talk than to sit together in silence. After all, that's not what the nice atmosphere is about.

He will be eager to listen to you when you tell about what you like, some stories from your life or when you say your opinion. He will listen to you, and if you wish, he can add something about himself if necessary.

• Honestly, he never insulted you on purpose in his life. And he will never want to do that. For him, offending people close to him is the worst that can happen. It can hurt you. What he never really wanted.

He wants to take care of you and your well-being. Physical and emotional.

• But he is older than his age (newspapers, books, quiet mornings and evenings) so you get along very well. (Even if he's not that old)

Ciao anon!,

Do I think Jonsa is canon or are they just something I ship?

Joking aside, I think it would depend on what you consider canon. Is it canon them feeling and the books affording us the gift of introspection and inner dialogue to see that feeling evolve even if it is never actually told externally or acted upon but proven into actions considered canon? I believe Jon and Sansa might be canon though that is not the reason why I ship them.

Let me digress a bit on this point.

I think Jon and Sansa as a couple might be canon, and while I am totally down for Martin to give us the courteous love they wish for and deserve to read and gush about, I fear that, that is not the road Martin might be taking with this at all.

I believe that Martin will give us an open ending (much like the show did) meaning that AsoIaF might recount just a part of the story (the story of how they got where they are and what they will remembered as — as suggested by the crypt teaser of s8) leaving the dream of spring (the rest of their lives a mystery for us), and I believe that Martin will re-create the perfect courteous love of the knight and his lady love.

It wouldn't surprise me if Jon and Sansa never actually acknowledge openly the romantic hue of their relationship, save for some very ambiguous phrasing (maybe them using ‘my lord’ and ‘my lady’ in a similar way as to what Ned and Cat did; or acts of service and words of support similar to ‘do you have any faith in me at all?’ and ‘you know I do’), I believe Martin will leave most of it subtle and entrusted to the inner dialogue most of the time.

We will most probably get the intention of defending each other specifically from anyone, the feeling of strong belonging they will have to each other which will be different than with their other siblings (albeit not less strong), we'll probably see how they are each-other support system and dream come-alive and maybe we'll even get the very clear admittance, albeit innerly, that they are ready to do whatever it takes to defend the other (Jon killing Dany when Tyrion brings up Arya and especially put emphasis on Sansa; Sansa organising a whole army after a terrible war — pardon three terrible wars — to defend her brother), we'll see how they develop romantic-like feelings and mayhap even jealousy (as the show teased), but just as with the trope of the courteous knight and his lady love it's possible such a dream and love will never be acted upon.

Though in asoiaf also enters in play Jon's parentage which could change the cards on the table between them, and not because of what he represents, but simply because politically it could make sense and thus add to the trope of the knight and his lady love the trope of the hidden prince and the princess he didn't dare to think he could ever have.

So I hold onto hope we'll get this latter development, even if I am completely prepared to get only the inner- acknowledged version Martin will probably feed us. Both possibilities are very plausible and have a chance of being canon.

So yes, on these premises I wholly believe they are canon.

Point is, do I ship 'em because I think they are canon, and so, would I change my mind if they weren't canon? No.

While I could accept both the possibility of Sansa with someone else and Jon with someone else as a possible canon (I don't know, Sansa with Willas for example, and Jon with Val) it would be because I like the very idea of seeing both Jon and Sansa with someone who can fulfil the fantasy and wish for love they hold dear to their heart and which is such an important part of their identities.

I have analysed more than once that both Jon and Sansa are highly romantic — courteous romance style — and on how they seek refuge from trauma into romance, and how their so called romantic interests until now (Ygritte and the Hound/LF) are just foil of each other in the other's arc. But proved that Sansa might be happy and find the love she wished for with whatever possible suitor Martin decides to give her and the same for Jon I would be down with it, though I would keep shipping Jonsa as well.

Why?, because I ship Jonsa besides believing them canon. Because Sansa is the answer to Jon's all dreams and prayers, the same way as Jon is the answer to all Sansa's dreams and songs and prayers. As I will analyse in another ask I am working on (and that I will link it here once I have finished it) Jon's romantic ways are made fun of, the same way as Sansa's are being tramped on by others around her, yet they fulfil the role each see for their potential partner and it works nicely with the tropes they are inserted in: knight and his lady love, hidden prince and princess he didn't dare think he could have, having had everything you dreamed of near you all your life but realising it only after you've undertaken a voyage away from it, thus fighting to return to it.

I ship them because they are the kind of love story that would be plausible in that kind of environment and time in real life, because I am a sucker for courteous love and because the foreshadowing about them (some of which I have analysed myself and you can find here) is poetry and so, no, I would not change my mind if they are not canon. I will accept canon whatever is its end, I will even be down with it if they both get what they want, but a small (big) part of me will always ship them because I truly feel they belong together!

Before the first date he went out to lunch with Melody Maker's Colin Irwin, who a few days later had a feature length article published under the title “Time is on the Artist's Side”. It would once again give Al's sense of fun a free rein in a national magazine.

“I identify completely with The Dong With The Luminous Nose,” Al told a clearly amused Irwin.

"I understand him. I understand how he was feeling. I understand the total waste of his life, the sense of loss, the sense of waste. It's fantastic. When people write ‘Oh baby I love you, if you left me I'd be blue...' The Dong With The Luminous Nose is light years beyond that, though it was written a century ago.

“I do like the idea of fantasy and surrealism. Lewis Carroll ... Mervyn Peake ... Edward Lear. Carroll and Lear used to do exceptionally well creating fantasy characters which had some of the attributes of the human being. I think this could be done with music. It could take five years to get together but it could be enormously evocative.

“Yes ... I wouldn't mind being the Edward Lear of Rock.”

The fact that Al still felt able to identify with the work of Lear may kept him sane over the previous 18 months. In having such a perfect foil for all the and tribulations of moving to Arista, he had been able to easily absent himself from much of the nitty gritty that imbued the lawsuits.

Irwin asked Al if he ever worried about appearing pretentious?

"Of course, of course ...” Al laughed. “I'm the easiest target in the world for that. Calling me pretentious is rather like saying Black Sabbath are too loud. But pretentiousness is when you say or do things just for effect, but I'm actually excited by all of this. I don't talk about things that I don't personally find exciting, relevant and important. I'll continue to do these things and if they appear pretentious, they appear pretentious. Why do I want to infect people with Jean-Paul Sartre and Thomas More and Lord Fisher and Edward Lear and Lord Grenville, why am I doing this, for Christ's sake, if these things aren't relevant to me?”

The article not only succeeded in pinpointing many of Al's more eccentric traits. In so far as Al ever actually having had an agenda it was almost laid bare on a number of occasions that day. As was so often to be the case in interviews conducted around 1978 he comes across as being almost mortally vulnerable.

Al also explained to Irwin his jurnalistic approach to issue-raising: “I have a distrust of artists who make strong personal commentaries. Especially political statements. I'm not convinced I've met anyone who knew enough to make a strong comment. I think it necessary that artists should be slightly naïve, that's where the creation comes from. Very often you write things because you don't understand or know. The excitement is in exploring. Therefore any statement of what you believe is difficult. If you ever came to believe in anything totally you're no longer an artist, you're a bigot.

The piece may have caught Al at his most whimsical but it also showed how passionately he still cared about many of the books that he had read when he was a child. It was as if, for Al, he could inhabit those worlds whenever the mood took him and that it was his own means of escape to lose himself in them at will. He appeared to use them as a shield.

Honestly, I don't think any of us cares about the number of chapters HC might have. But it totally depends on what's more comfortable for you. If you think a sequel will be better than continuing it in the same book, then we wouldn't mind a sequel haha. 💜

hi hello I hope you’re doing well!! so. uh. im currently figuring out which colleges I want to apply to and a few of my top picks are in chicago!! unfortunately I’ve never lived there and don’t know a ton of people who do — would you mind making a quick list of pros and cons that you personally think about the area ? only if it’s not too much trouble, ofc, and thank you regardless :D

omg hi!!!! I would absolutely love this and it's so exciting that you're looking at schools!! If you're okay with it, what schools/areas are you looking at? (If you'd prefer I totally wouldn't mind direct messaging/chatting about this as well!) :D

Personally, I loved living in the Chicago city (now I'm in the "Chicagoland area" suburbs) but I lived in the loop for a while for a job and it was terrific. Expensive! But amazing. It's so walkable, which is great. The public transport is so, so convenient as a student (depending on your location of course) and I would completely recommend getting a ventra pass for 30-day if you can do it. My daily commute was the train then 2 buses every morning and afternoon and it was so nice not having to worry about the costs piling up. Plus, that means you can visit wherever on the weekends! Which I have so many recommendations! There's always something going on! Also, definitely get a library card if you can (which sounds like an odd priority but a. FREE BOOKS b. you can usually use it as a proof of address to get free/discount admissions to a lot of museums in the area if you don't immediately update your driver's license/ID with your new address, like I failed to do lol)

Cons, it's definitely not the cheapest city. I would have to get on the train to get to the nearest Aldi's and even there the prices were higher than what I would pay out of the city. And like every big city, you have to be careful about where you're going/what times--I wouldn't recommend getting on certain trains after 1am/2am for example (the red line mostly) just from bad experiences from traveling as a single woman.

I see your reaction, Lestat. If they won't use this as foreshadowing, it's going to be a waste.

The idea of Claudia meeting a vampire of her own, out there, is nice, that I can adnit. Completely out of canon, but there's something to it. Still, I think I prefer the motivation of the book: Claudia is so tired of the abuse, of not knowing what's out there, of wanting Louis with her. "He's more like a dad"? Well, it ain't like that in the book. I like her being in love with him. I like them traveling together. I like her being eager for knowledge. This part of the story in the show? Totally not my thing. I still have some scenes in my imagination, the two riding a carriage, killing those brainless things/vampires, only meeting real ones in Paris. Claudia holding Louis' hand, trying to kiss him. Those two loving each other. Yeah, that would be a real jam.

Also, the fact that Bruce attacks her and tries to assault her. I keep thinking about what Armand said in the book, how he wouldn't turn that boy/slave of his even if he was in danger. Cause he's too young, wouldn't be able to protect himself. His body not fully grown. How he talked about "this child with you", and Claudia being stuck in a body of a freaking FIVE. YEAR. OLD.

I really like the idea of Claudia traveling with Louis better. But I'm afraid I have a very different picture in my mind than the show gives me. Something closer to the first movie. That'd be some picture. Need to rewatch the movie, definitely.

Genuinely not sure what's Armand's purpose, but I'm glad he intervened. That was a very shitty thing to do of Louis. That slap to Louis from Daniel was very well deserved. Also, I'd watch Daniel and Armand being lovers. It's an intriguing idea.

Louis is obsessed with Claudia while Lestat is tired of his whining & would like to do something fun. Very much yeah.

Was about to crop to the hand, but the entire picture is a masterpiece.

Ah yes, Louis' sister arranging a gravestone for him, knowing he's supernatural. You don't care about canon, do you?
