coming from an enby whos tme (tho i myself am not transmasc), i feel like a lot of transmasc people are doing this "have their cake and eat it too" thing where they want to be perceived as men or men adjacent, in our society a part of the oppressor class, while also still wanting to benefit from structures meant to protect against said class. specifically ones that have been set up in queer spaces. ive met quite a few trans men who were just as vehemently misogynysitic as your average dude bro. and (this is speculation based on convos ive had with trans men im not in every transmascs head) a lot of transmascs have a lot of internalized misogyny that they project onto trans women. ive had an irl ex friend of mine say something that i think encapsulates this particular issue fairly well. this was like 8 years ago, we were talking about trans rep in media (specifically orange is the new black iirc) so im paraphrasing; 'its messed up that we (afabs in this context) are sidelined for people who used to be men, we cant escape the patriarchy.' that was horribly transmisogynistic, so lets unpack it.

it assumes that trans women are just men

it assumes sex essentialism, that they and i were just women. that we were just poor Females having 'our space' encroached on by mean 'former men.'

im not saying that all transmascs think like this ofc. #notallmen. im saying that some do, and enough transmascs have internalized misogyny and not enough self reflection.

just because you are trans doesnt mean you are immune to bigotry and recouping oppressive structures. none of us are free of Sin™️. you as an individual have to make an effort to reflect on your thoughts and actions and how they might affect yourself and others, so that you are not a willing participant of our communities oppression.

for example, ive talked a lot privately about my journey to being a better person, (and pobodies nerfect, its always a learning process, you always will have things you can improve on. and thats okay, were all just human) i initially hated it/its pronouns. 'it' gave me the ick. i was called 'it' as a kid incessantly to make fun of my gender presentation, i couldnt fathom someone else finding peace and even euphoria in using it/its. i bought into the conservative talking points about neopronouns and it/its being detrimental to the trans community. they were "the bad transes" and me? well i use they/them but shakespeare used the singular they so im fine :), im one of the good ones. then one day, i was listening to some video essay idr what or who, but something they said stuck with me, "if it/its makes me happy, why do you care? how does 'it' hurt you really?" my trauma is not everyones trauma, people will find comfort in things that i wont, and thats okay. 'it' hurt me when i was young, by cruel kids and uncaring adults. why am i hurting my community, my fellow transes, by continuing to deny them their autonomy to identify how they like? so i got over 'it.' i saw the real harm was the fucking wedge being driven between us by conservative grifters trying to pick off the weakest in the herd before they go in for the rest of us.

visibility isnt necessarily a good thing for marginalized people. transfemmes are the biggest target of hate in our community atm. they unfortunately serve as the canary. global fascism is on the rise and to be frank, a targeted hate campaign against a trans woman is asking for her to be killed. outed, paraded as a freak, doxxed, swatted, killed. protect trans women, fascism doesnt stop with one group nor will you be saved by being "one of the good ones." trans solidarity, even the people you dont like, even if you think theyre icky or gross or whatever the fuck else you do Not give up trans solidarity. you dont make callout posts, you dont send death threats, you dont send hate mail, if you dont like someone Block Them and move on.

we stand together or we will be eradicated.

i (a goldblood, masking my quirk so the haters/p dont find me, otherwise goldblood is all you need to know) often participate in strife duels when im not busy being the best fucking engineer this shithole has to offer to our great empire

and lately ive been getting flack for culling these bitches like the unworthy they are, people complaining about "fairness" and "i started it" or whatever

let me give you a little story here to clear things up

so im walking right, just chilling up in the highblood part of my big city because there are NO laws that say i cannot legally just fucking stroll wherever the fuck i want as long its not trespassing, cause maybe i dont wanna flex my psionics by just flying everywhere and i have places to be

and this stupid ass indigo, pulls up, walking by me, just a couple inches taller than me (im 6'4 btw so this chick was pretty big) fucking shoulder checks me, deadass just bumps into me and doesnt say anything so im like

"dude, are you good? the fucks your problem?"

and shes like "whats YOUR problem, you should mind your space, blah blah blah blah highblood jargin im not assed to type, its disrespectful" and then her fucking moirail or whatever some olive just taps her shoulder and tries to get her on her merry way but whatever i dont give a fuck

and im like "dude you should mind YOUR space pay attention" and she gets all mad like damn bro whats your problem im fr just going on a stroll so im like "you wanna go dude we can strife right here if you wanna stay mad" and even though her moirail is protesting shes like "ok fine this wont be too long" (cocky ass bitch) and they look sad that their moirail is gonna cull some moody lowblood scum like me or however those two viewed me

so im like shit, okay, bet, you wanna play, ill play?

indigo pulls out her dinky fucking mace or whatever, sounds to me like a strife duel just began, so you know what i do?

i fire up the goddamn engine (my psionics) and PUNCH her ass, right across the jaw faster than she can say "mustard", bet she didnt expect to get fucking punched with psionics, it's a free ass way to give someone nerve damage so she kinda locks up all surprised (probably the energy i sent across his nervous system too) and next thing you know i got this bulgehead on the ground and im slamming her stupid skull into the sidewalk until its been painted filthy ass indigo (tell you what no one is immune to severe nervous system damage)

his moirails like yelling and shit and calls me a piece of shit or whatever and fine, okay, i feel kinda bad for culling someones moirail but thats just alternia man, strife rules dont care how much your moirail means to you, if i had a moirail im sure he would be sad if i got culled in a strife duel

and i knew this olive was gonna try and avenge their partner so i just sorta flew off before i had to cull someone else in a duel that was probably in an abusive relationship anyway thats always how it is with lowbloods and highbloods mixing

so am i the asshole? i didnt do anything illegal, i asked if she wanted to strife, she said yes, so i won the fucking strife duel i dont know why i feel this way, she fucking started it i dont start shit man

Saints Row reboot thoughts!

To me personally, they showed so little of the actual gameplay so i dont feel like i can really form an opinion on the whole game, so here you have just my unasorted thoughts:

- absolutley in love with the new setting. I really like western stuff, so this texsas/arizona/nevada inspired city seems really fun. It's also really unique, i can't think of other open world game with a place like that

- New cast! I dunno why ppl suspected the og saints to come back... like, the whole world got blown up. Ofc the reboot gonna have new characters and new lore. The new gang seems okay, i guess? I dont really like their designs - they feel really generic, beside the catboy guy. A girl in a tshirt, a dude with glasses. They dont have any outfits that chatch the eye, they are not really meorable. But hey, we'll see in the game i guess.

- New gangs sound great. I love the mix of serious/wacky, nice stuff. I hope we get some cool bossfights again like in 2 instead of dumb qts like 3 did.

- Lack of purple is making me :(

- Gameplay footage was too little to really see, but it seems like the shooting is still arcade-y, which is great. I was worried they would go with gta route and turn it into cover shooter bullshit.

- Devs talked about you "building your empire" and getting to actually see and participate in growing the saints. That sounds super cool, i always wanted a crime game that had that aspect. And it's perfect for the saints, seeing as it's a game about taking over. Cool.

- They said that they want to focus on the "criminallity aspect" of the games, which is... i dunno. What does that even mean? If this mean more serious and grounded storylines like 2, count me in. The shoji funeral scene still haunts me bro.

I still feel that there was too little shown for me to really get invested, but i will definitly keep an eye out for updates.

My biggest hope is that they are not joking about returning to their roots. The best saints row stuff is when they balance on the wacky and serious, like 2. It had fun weapons, character banter, humor. But it also had such powerful moments like Aisha's death. Don't get me wrong, i love 4 with all it's jokes and sillines! I just want those games to make me feel something for the characters. I can't get invested when they are just exadurated cartoons, they don't feel... real, you understand? I hope this make sense.

My second biggest hope is that you can make your character fat.

AAAA OMG okay!! thank u for sending this!! im so excited i love talking about neurodiv stuff with you

so i think the very first thing that made me think eva had adhd was her impulsivity. i don’t think she really fully considers the consequences of a single thing she does on the entire show. she gets these insane ideas and then she just immediately does them right away, regardless of whether or not the people around her think it’s a good idea. i know you havent seen the show so i won’t use specific examples but just trust me, it happens like. once an episode.

the other thing thats like, sort of related to that, is that i feel like she often says things without thinking. (which is separate from doing things without thinking but don’t ask why lol. it just is). she’s the type of person to bluntly ask a murder suspect if they are the one who killed someone. the type of person to accuse her sister’s fiancé to his face of having a gambling problem. like, she just... says whatever. and sometimes it gets her into trouble but often times people are so shocked by the questions they’ll just talk to her about it.

in canon, he’s also impatient, gets bored easily, hates being bored, has trouble sleeping, sits on chairs weird, and in general seems kinda. wired. you know, all the things we look for when we’re like. ah, yes. One Of Us.

one thing you obviously don’t see a lot of on the show is stimming, but i know in my heart that if it was a more socially acceptable thing to be in tv scripts, that eva would be wiggling all the time. like, maybe not hand flapping so much as toe tapping, leg bouncing, pen clicking, finger tapping, all that sort of Genre of stims. the gotta go fast anxiety type stims.

i think she did well in school but only by the virtue of getting good grades on everything. his sort of... participation? grade? idk if they even had that in spain when he was growing up but if they did... woof. eva would not be considered a “pleasure to have in class” eva would be like... the kid that always wants to sharpen her pencil or ask weird questions or get up and walk around for no reason. very much on the hyperactive side of adhd. also you kNOW that kid was a hard core procrastinator.

#had a phone call w one of my internship supervisors today #she said something about me last week which i didnt really like. something a long the lines of that she doesnt see me trying? so at first i #was gonna let it go but then a few days back i spoke to my coworker about it and she said i should ask my supervisor to explain what she #meant. cuz then it will a. show that in interested in receiving feedback and im willing to ask for it. b. i can defend myself when my #supervisor gives examples. i can tell her my perspective and c. i wont have to keep thinking about what she said and trying to imagine what #she could have meant with that remark #so i called her today and bro it was sooo nerve wracking #ive noticed i do this thing where i start shaking? when im really nervous? luckily it was over the phone so that helped #she explained what she meant and like my coworker said i was able to know why she said what she said and i was also able to explain some #things and how i saw them #we cleared things up between us i feel like #so im really happy i did it!#and i also just now emailed my teacher asking if i could send in my essay which is for her class on friday bc im struggling with time and #everything i need to finish before friday #worst case: she says no. which i would understand #better case: shes okay with it and i have 1 less thing to worry about until friday 3pm #best case: she says i dont have to make and send it at all cuz i participated enough in class #but thats unlikely #and uhhh yeah #cant wait for sunday cuz ill have a whole day off. a whole day of NOTHING on my mind. oh my god

EVERYONE is supposed to support LGBTQ+ rights and the moment they don't (not even saying anything against it, simply not having it in their literature/characters/etc) everyones gonna hate at them? Bro how do you expect people to respect things if the respect isn't mutual? let people do what they want.

they don't say anything against it, simply doesn't participate. leave people alone for doing what they want. there's nothing wrong with choosing not to participate in it, at least she isn't being rude about it.

not everyone agrees with lgbtq+, and thats OKAY. as long as there's kindness and people aren't being rude about it, whats the problem? how are people who don't agree supposed to accept people who do if they dont accept the people who don't?

But here’s the fucking problem. Saying you don’t agree with something people can’t control? That’s a fucking big problem bucko. Listen. Saying “Well I don’t support gay people but since I’m not rude about it it’s okay I’m unproblematic.” is homophobic. I’ll put it into something heavier that you can’t control as an example. Saying “Well I don’t support poc but since I’m not rude about it it’s okay I’m unproblematic.” is blatantly racist. No one can control their race. And like that, no one can control their oreintation, gender, sex, whatever you wanna call it. Saying the shit you did isn’t OKAY. It’s homophobic.

No one is obligated to accept people who don’t like them. Why would you do that? Especially in this situation, cis people are literally the oppressors and have been for years on years. We are not the ones who have to accept them first. Why should we?? Because they beat and killed us?? huh????

Lastly, it’s SUPER fucking shady if you sell a character then make an almost copy redesign later. Not wanting the og and then making a new one just seems weird. It’s less stressful to just change the design instead of just selling it and then making a new one.

The squad analyzes the statistics of all Noise outbreaks over the last month to see if there’s a pattern somewhere. Somehow, Hibiki is regarded as an authority on this, despite being just a normal girl.

This is not the face of someone who has a degree in Noisology, let alone even listened to a Noisia album.

“looking photogenic while this girl describes how these horrible, lovecraftian entities butcher entire populations will look great on my acting resume”

Strained sounds of holding back laughter at this absolute clownery.

*coughs quietly*

Exposition goes on about the UN acknowledging the existence of Noise, but them existing for far longer, existing in myths as demons and monsters of long ago. This makes little sense, but fuck it, just roll with it. They also say the Noise is rare, but this being Symphogear, the Noise will be here forever, until the end of time.

“its like the noise are a metaphor........................”

Hibiki, looking dead inside as the average overnight studying student would, muses whether someone is behind the noise. She also asks if you can hear the sound of one hand clapping.

Tsubasa makes a very relevant observation that the school is smack dab at the center of all these outbreaks. In retrospect, you probably should have asked her first. She points out it may be because someone wants their get their hands on the almost complete relic hidden away in the 2nd Division: Durandal. Why anyone wants an old ass french sword is beyond me.

“yeah i can do exposition too, fuck you”

Finished relics are extremely rare and as a result extremely powerful. Incomplete ones are pretty powerful, but need to be rebuilt a bit.

“i discovered all this, conveniently, as the only person left to do so! totally not suspicious at all.”

“anime plot hurting brain. bullshit levels make think no good.”

“wish i got hired for a macross anime instead, they get to go to space”

The exposition goes on to note that America wants the relic. This is one of the few shows that depicts America in a very serious and antagonistic light. America never cooperates in any useful way except once.

Tsubasa and Ogawa quietly plan idol ruminations. This animation used to be far, far worse.

This is the moment where Tsubasa becomes sword-kin. From here on out, she will always refer to herself as a sword. This is law. Literally every single season has this same deal. She believes she is a sword. I know it’s not literal, but I like pretending it is.

Succ Intensifies

Hibiki muses on the nature of war.

Ryoko then says some very not nice things that we’re just going to walk right around because Ryoko is a little bit of a weirdo and should probably keep her flirting to the short haired lady working on the bridge.

“i will call the cops, lady”

Hibiki starts her next day at school as she spots Tsubasa during her choir class.

“forget my nintendo switch with the latest smash bros game in the classroom goddamnit”

“hibiki please tone down the gay for five seconds while we try to get through this dumb singing class in one piece”

“i smell a homewrecker”

“THE GAY CAN NEVER BE TONED DOWN, IT CAN ONLY BE TONED”

Hibiki is then fed by multiple classmates for this statement.

The Anime Janai crew is fond of Hibiki, much like a group of Lords being fond of the royal court jester. Hibiki clowns it up by working on a report she procrastinated until the very last minute. “Your life sure is an anime!”, one of them says. Hibiki then says, “I wish!”. They smile in unison at the irony.

Look at how they mock the threads of reality. Absolute monsters.

Hibiki nails the report at the skin of her teeth, Miku’s gonna get ready for the meteor shower, everyone’s real fucking happy, the evening looks peaceful, all is well.

“i cant wait to do all these fun things we promised several times over!”

Unfortunately, the worst case scenario happens.

Her tiddies start ringing.

“no.... fuck.... my tiddies... they’re ringing...”

She knows now she cannot go.

Miku tries to keep it together. Neither of them are happy about this state of affairs, and rightfully so, because it’s fucking stupid. Hell, it would have made more sense of Miku knew but still got jealous anyway, because she feels her job is establishing too much distance! And they talk those problems out instead of issues that only arise if everyone’s a goddamn moron about communication!

Hibiki, understandably, is pretty fucking pissed.

Hibiki fights the Noise. She’s gotten slightly better at fighting, but for now she’s still sorta trash at it. A grape themed Noise throws bombs and crushed her under rocks from a ceiling.

You’re a student. You’re the lone survivor of a concert that you got flak about for years. You go to an institution for singing with your best friend and basically get shoved into a life of crime fighting unwittingly. Your only teammate hates you and tried to kill you. You don’t get to hang out with your best friend anymore. Your teachers hate you. And you’re losing against the abominations that may have potentially warped your life negatively, forever.

This is probably the pivotal moment where Hibiki fucking snaps and decides she ain’t taking shit anymore. She’s not at her strongest yet, but mentally? She has decided to tell the world to go fuck itself.

“MY WIFE THINKS IM CHEAAAAAATING, MY TEAMMATE THINKS I SUUUUUUUUUCK, AND I’M SICK AND TIRED OF IT”

My, Hibiki, what big fangs you have. All the more to grit your teeth and beat the shit out of things with, I assure you.

Needless to say, even without having the skill, she’s starting to understand and get more comfortable with the full extent of the power her suit provides her.

She’s gotten so mad that even the illustrators are afraid of her.

To note: this isn’t just anime drama silhouette stylization. She is actually physically turning into a red eyed shadow. You’ll know why later down the road.

“YOU WANNA FUCKIN FIGHT ME NOW TSUBASA? HUH? HUH? YOU WANNA FUCKIN’ FIGHT ME?!”

Needless to say, her rampage goes on for a while.

She manages to dispatch all the Noise except for the Grape themed one. Up in the hole it made, she sees the meteor fall from the sky...

Hibiki randomly yells out she wants to protect things too, for absolutely no real reason. Who would even break the ice with that. Hibiki, please.

They sorta stare each other down in a field awkwardly, like a bad high school reunion. But, a mysterious voice breaks out of literally fucking nowhere.

“didnt know they legalized gay marriage in japan already, otherwise id be showing up to this joke of a marriage sooner, you absolute buffoons”

hm well skam nl is my favorite and their social media game is trash LMAOOO so generally No but i do feel like remakes who DO have such a good presence kind of elevate the show and i think it’s pretty heartwarmin to see some remakes go sm farther than skam with social media and puttin out educational and IN CHARA resources like skames does this so well and i feel like in that way, the team is really really spreadin skam’s spirit via these resources (like joana’s billion bpd awareness ig accounts and lucas rubio’s yt channel)

2. Least favourite clip of the show? Why?

tbh there are definitely some duds but probably one of the clips with sana gettin herself into a hole in s4 just bc some were hard to watch cus cringey or yikes .... idk i cant think of others LMAO

3. Which character did you feel the most connected to and why?

ijeoiqjiwoij even tho even is my all time fave skam chara, i have to say isak for all of these reasons

4. Your least favourite part of every season?

season 1 - tbh even though i really enjoyed this season, it does take a while for it to build up like i rmr at first not being that interested until ep6 maybe ?? which is hard when you’re trying to get your friends to watch but they have to wait until ep6 before shit starts RLLY buildin up and gettin wild

season 2 - hm ig noora chasin after william ??

season 3 - bro NOTHINGGG call me a purist but its such a refined masterpiece like the pacing is good the characterization is so good ugh i deadass cant think of anythin

season 4 - i always felt a little ??? w noora being sana’s bff ig bc from s1-s3 it didn’t Feel like they were that close like even in noora’s pov, sana wasn’t really a part of it that much ?? like eva was more of noora’s bff ?? so i feel like it would have made more sense if maybe sana spoke more with chris or vilde bc sana and vilde eventually seemed to get closer esp with kosegruppa and chris has always been by sana’s side ?? idk that always confused me

5. What is your opinion on the cast’s participation on social media? Do you prefer it when the cast aren’t that involved like the Skam cast, or do you like a lot of content like the Fr cast do?

tbh i don’t care much abt the casts LMAOOO if anythin it kind of brings more harm as seen with the harassment axel and maxence get and also can bring more controversy like with irene (which honestly is p sad considerin how much i love skames bc now i feel super :/ watchin it like she shouldve just had private accts at this point)

6. Favourite song you found from Skam or the remakes?

OMFGGG love this question .... def doorman by slowthai and mura masa bc its one of my fave songs now and i got it from skam nl <3 ugh taste

7. If you could decide which characters from Skam got a season, who would you choose?

OOOHHH ugh torn bc i like isak’s pov but also i want even’s so might have to forfeit isak season for even season ....... hm so probs vilde, sana, even, noora (maybe not w william tho) and honestly maybe jonas too ??

8. Are there any moments that you liked in the show that everyone else seems to hate?

IJXDWQOIJJ yes .... remakes-wise, people hate skam nl s2’s last half but i enjoyed it for the most part ... i think the pacing was off for the last ep but personally, clip 50 made up for it and is p god tier imo ..... and also don’t think the first half of ep10 is enough to discredit the entire season bc i rlly loved seeing liv’s pov and have sm fave moments from the season

but skam wise, omg might get a lil controversial w this one IM SORRY !!! im bein honest and its Just my opinion ok

personally s2 got me more invested than s1 and i don’t think its a super bad season like i didnt really say many problems wrong with it until i got on tumblr wiejioqjoiqjq i was sort of interested in the questions that the noora/william dynamic brought up which is, as expressed in william’s war speech to noora, that nothing is ever black/white which i feel was a huge message and feeds into the ‘you never know what ppl are going through’ theme of the season ... like i like the idea of someone like noora, who can have a black/white mentality (as seen in the first clip of s2 when she tells vilde that they can’t have the tannin company as their sponsor bc they objectify women or smth but misses the context and what it could mean for the bus monetarily bc shes caught up in bein ‘woke’) having to break out of that and see more than one side ... and i think remakes like skam austin expanded on this idea well like when zoya was like ‘must be so nice being right all the time’ which i Do feel like is an important for youth to know today .... bc i think its so easy to get caught up in the idea of being so objectively right and morally superior that people lose sight of the more nuanced characteristics to life ... (omg long ramble BUT)

also LMAOOOOO this one might be more controversial as it pertains to bench scene s4 ok oops again doNT GOTTA AGREE !! ........ but i feel like the scene had a lot of good intentions ... i was def kind of cringing a bit tho bc i understand the subject’s sensitivity and how these topics are hard to talk about but i genuinely feel like they both made Some points and should listen to each other .... like as Hard and as maybe ‘unwoke’ it is to admit, unfortunately you sort of do have to answer the tough questions bc that way we learn from each other .... and i perfectly understand why some ppl wouldn’t want to do this and i certainly am tired abt havin to answer shit abt my sexuality or stupid male questions abt women but if u dont answer them, people do go lookin for answers still and the internet is such a shitty place that its pretty easy (esp with youtube’s algorithm) to lead you to ignorant ppl and perhaps radicalization .... questions help us to better understand our community and sometimes they can have good intentions too but we have to ask and answer them or else people will make up answers (which ive literally seen and its honestly worse to see fake as shit and UNINFORMED answers bc ppl did not want to ask you or ppl of ur identity, esp when they’re already startin from a place of hate .... but i rather have ppl ask me patronizing questions than have them spread false info bc that can do much more harm in the long run) however i DO think that isak should also consider sana’s side and i sort of wish we saw him conceding more bc they both have smth to learn from one another, like sana shouldn’t just be learnin from isak, isak needs to learn from sana too

9. What did you learn from the show?

omg honestly too much to write here tbh ..... but if it says anythin im (very slowly) in the works of a three part skam essay about basically how skam teaches us to be better humans and how to better treat the people we care about diowjqioj essentially the three biggest themes of the show: you never know what someone is going through so always be kind, always communicate with your friends, and no person is ever alone and i feel like these are definitely rlly good messages to live by (also livet er nå BITCH !!!)

10. What is your favourite headcanon about your favourite characters?

omg tbh i could not tell u at all how the skam charas are doing except i hope even is okay thats all im thinkin of ok .... OIWXIOJX omg remakes wise tho ..... honestly im so bad at this girl IDK !!!!! LMAO i have to really think i have a bit of vdh and dutch even but thats bc we know like Zero abt them so its easier oijwiojqio idk liv and noah bein cute as shit ..... OH WAIT personally i feel like janna got a bunch of pansexual energy so my BIGGG hc is that she’s pan also bc she’s one of my all time fave charas and my fkn url so itd be dope if she was pan ok boom

tbh i don’t read skam fanfiction but i don’t mind reading some from the remakes (tho still its rare) ... eiojeioqw i just don’t trust anyone but julie to write skam charas bc i think that’s how precious the show is to me LMAO like idk everything ive seen of skam fanfiction and ficlets and one shots, i could never get into bc the tone is just so out of character or there will be lines that just take me out of the fic bc im like this !!!! is not !!! how the chara acts !!!! so yeah idk not rlly a fan bc of my purist ass but i dont mind others reading it
