Chapter Two: Partners

“ughh…” the morning rays were peeking through your window as you groaned, smacked your alarm off and regretted drinking so much at dinner the night before. you were invited to eat with your new college friends and wanted them to like you. of course, there was another reason to join them, right?

korean barbeque gave them a chance to see how skilled you were at grilling meat and making sure that everyone was filled and satisfied by the end of the night. obviously, it also gave you a chance to slip Toji more meat slices than the others - your genius (?), subtle way of flirting. you blushed at the thought of your actions and covered your face with the blanket. you remember feeling a blend of pride and embarrassment coursing through your veins as you served him - and was he smirking when you did that? you hope that he was just buzzed from the drinks.

you got ready for your morning lecture, mentally resolving to not be late for anymore classes this term. after a quick shower, you threw on the first things you saw in the closet, grabbed your glasses (the salty dinner made you wake up with puffy eyes that were not lens-ready) and sprang out of the room with your backpack. thank god that there wasn’t a line at the coffeeshop. “one iced latte, extra shot, please,” you mumbled. you couldn’t wait for the caffeine to kick in.

yesss, i made it. the classroom was almost empty and you chose a seat at the back. as you took a few more sips of your coffee and started taking out your stationery, the doors opened and more sleepy students shuffled in. a few girls from your class yesterday, a couple of boys who look like they stayed up all night playing video games, and him.

oh… OH. you did a double-take.

Toji scanned the entire room and his eyes met yours. did he see me? maybe if i looked away, he would think it wasn’t me? (so much for genius, subtle flirting the night before.) you slowly directed your eyes back to your bag and started pulling out your laptop; from the corner of your eyes, you saw him bound up the steps, two at a time, till he reached your row. don’t come here. he walked towards you. don’t sit next to me. he pulled out the chair next to you and plopped down.

“morning.”

you turn to look at him, taking in his messy jet black hair and pretty (so pretty) green eyes, and he gave you a gentle smile, the scar on the right side of his mouth moving up.

“oh, hi…” you began, trying your best to commit to the ‘calm’ persona you showed your new friends the day before. “i thought you were a finance major, what are you doing in a psych class?”

“it’s an elective - psych’s interesting,” he replied. there was a slight pause as he peered at your face. “nice glasses by the way, they're cute,” he commented nonchalantly as he turned to his bag to take out his course materials.

you almost choked as his compliment threw you off guard. “th-thanks, i didn’t feel like stabbing my eyes with lenses this morning.” he let out a small laugh. what is happening right now?

the class was in session and you did your best to pay attention. your eyes kept shifting towards whatever he laid out on the table as you tried to find out more about him - his laptop had a black case, notebook was black, pen ink was black… i can’t read him at all. he didn’t write anything throughout class too, but when he started typing notes, you imagined what those thick, veiny arms could do to you…

“last item i wanted to raise: there will be a report due right before finals that requires you to find one other person to work with. i know some of you joined this class with your friends so i’ll give you the freedom to choose your partners but for the love of god, if you fall out after this, don’t come find me,” your professor warned. you and Toji chuckled.

“i guess we’re partners for this then.”

“hmm? what?”

“doesn’t look like you joined this class with anyone, neither did i. let’s be partners.”

you blinked twice, thrice at Toji and managed a small “sure!” before turning back to your lecturer. you don’t remember how she closed the session nor how everyone started packing up and leaving. Toji stayed seated next to you as most of the students filed out and only then did you start shuffling things into your bag, still reeling from what you agreed to five minutes ago.

“what classes do you have after this?”

“oh! uhh… i’m free the rest of the day,” you said cheerfully, forcing your voice to not crack.

“let’s go for lunch,” Toji said while standing up, his right hand ruffling your hair, causing a bolt of electricity to shoot through your body. you were glad that he was walking away so he didn’t see your face burst into flames.

vil is so "no talking stage. mutual obsession and you see god in my eyes or die a painful death." and rook is "all day talking stage about how obsessed i am with my most specialest girlfriend now cheer for her or ill blow this whole building up" and it's like yea man. shit. i see god in vil's eyes too. he haunts me. hate it when gnc men make me homosexual.

This is so accurate actually??? I’m working on smth for Vil rn and I’m trying to find a balance so I can convey that kind of 0 to 100 commitment. I keep going back to that line of his in book 5 about how he has no interest in strong arming people into bowing to him and how he prefers it when people do so on their own accord. Vil wants unwavering loyalty, but he also wants to be treated like a person rather than a two dimensional character. He just wants you to see him as the most perfect person to ever walk the earth- and that’s where seeing god in his eyes comes in. He needs to know he can trust you, not just because you’ve got some flighty crush on him- so does everyone else, get in line- but because you’re enamored with his whole being. This means being honest and upfront with him when he does something you disagree with, as well as refusing to shy away from hard truths he has to hear. He doesn’t want you to kiss his ass- honesty like that is a good measure of loyalty, and a foundation for any sort of relationship when he has millions of people obsessing over him. He needs to know you really mean it. It’s complicated, I guess. To me it seems like Vil would want you to level the playing field and treat him like any other person, but then choose him over everyone else in the world because you find him to be so perfect (all his baggage included). But I feel like the mutual connection and respect would be a start for the inevitable mutual pining. Vil is observant by nature and brutally honest to a point- if you reciprocate that without any sort of prompting, he’s going to take to you once he’s sure you’re not trying to get something out of him (just as he took to Rook). You’ll have to know him well to see that he’s in love with you. His affection comes in ways like hard truths big and small, inviting you to do extraordinarily mundane things with him (working out, a quick brunch, etc.), and cosmetics he’s formulated just for you. It’s exceedingly normal for the longest time- he has to know you won’t get bored of him, that you aren’t just interested in his public persona. If you know him that well and still fall head over heels, if you still find god in his eyes? Then he floors it. Or rather it‘s difficult to floor it when the two of you have already so deeply entangled your day to day lives. When did you two get this close? When did you learn so much about him without him telling you outright and Vice versa? Nonetheless it just escalates from there, because then Vil really wants to pick your brain- that mutual understanding gets far deeper far faster once the safety brake is disengaged.

Renee’s heart isn’t in it. Not at first, anyway.

He knows that by this new tension in the atmosphere, which makes the air almost palpable to breathe in, marring even the glances he exchanges with Davin. He’s pretty sure Conrad can sense it, too, or maybe he’s just scared again, he just keeps his gaze down. The spotlights hammer heat through layers of black clothes, making Renee sweat as he secures Conrad’s handcuffs to the hinge in the massive oak table they’ve moved in front of the camera. It looks like an interrogation in a way, with Conrad seated there, hands locked to the tabletop. Renee is waiting for the line he snorted to kick in, to regain that sense of normalcy, but until that moment comes, all he feels is apathy. Honestly, he’d rather get drunk and play video games right now, rather spend the day wasting time on meaningless bullshit.

But a job is a job.

One-handed, he pulls the balaclava over his head, feeling his cut hair prick against the fabric, and turns on the camera. Automatically, he strides backwards, watching Davin for the small nod to signify they’re live. The chat, which they’ve set up on a tablet facing Renee, is already running. People are excited, they’ve been waiting for a while.

Davin finally nods.

Renee takes a deep breath. Smiles behind the balaclava. “Ladies and gentlemen,” he says with forced ruefulness, “in-betweeners and outsiders – we’re back at last.”

As he strides to the table Conrad is sitting at, he wonders at the ease with which that persona comes back, that role he has to play for the cameras of an enthusiastic torturer, as if the balaclava shrouds him in the veil of his character. It’s as much a performance right now as the beaming smile of a cashier, he thinks, or the professional understanding nod of a nurse long since numbed to tragedy.

He hops up to sit on the edge of the table, facing the camera. Winces briefly at the pain in his arm. “Some shit happened while we were away, most of which I won’t go into for the time being. Safe to say, we’re not gonna be drowning him again. We’re in luck, though. There’s more ways than one to have some fun.” He chuckles.

Eleven thousand to cut off an ear. Sixteen to have at him with a bull whip. Twenty to hamstring him. Some suggest to sodomize him, a line Davin and Renee already agreed not to cross, while other suggestions lack entertainment value altogether.

Renee sniffs as he lets his eyes scroll over the price tags in the chat. “I actually had something in mind,” he mutters. “I’d like a lazy day today, really kick my feet up and let other people do all my work for me. How does that sound?” He taps the table. “What do we want to see him do to himself, hm?”

There’s a small noise from Conrad behind him, almost inaudible.

As Renee reads the suggestions, he feel that old feeling of euphoria finally starting to creep in, like a flower blooming in the back of his mind.

Wyvern: Miserable enough to be a cutter, isn’t he? Make him carve a word of your choosing into his arm, 17k. I’ll make it an even 20k if you can get him to hit beans.

Renee chuckles as he reads the username. “Wyvern, huh? That’s awfully generous of you.” He slides off the table, making his way back to the table of tools, markedly not looking at Conrad until he’s on his way back to him, nonchalantly flicking the straight razor open in his good hand. “What do you say, hm? Sound doable?”

The guy sits very still, staring stiffly at his hands clamped in front of him. The only clue as to his state of mind is his rapid breathing, noise carefully suppressed.

Lightly running the razor around the side of Conrad’s chin, Renee tilts his head to the side to look him in the eye. “I’m talking to you, dipshit.”

Conrad swallows, breathing sharply through his nose. “I won’t,” he says. And then he looks away.

Renee laughs. “That’s cute.” He leans in closer. “If you don’t do it, I’ll break both your hands with the hammer,” he mutters. “How about that?”

Conrad winces, and there’s tears in his eyes now.

“Do you honestly think that’s an idle threat?” Renee chuckles. “Are you that stupid?” And he brings his fist down on the table hard enough to rattle it, just to watch Conrad jump. He lets go of the razor, letting the it tip towards Conrad’s grasp, and gets himself comfortably seated in a chair behind him, kicking his feet up on the table. His elbow aches as he crosses his arms in front of his chest. “Go on,” he tells Conrad. “We don’t have all day.”

Conrad eyes the straight razor in front of him like it’s a puzzle far past his comprehension. He looks back at Renee, swallowing thick. His voice is small. “You can’t expect me to, to…”

“Stop talking and cut yourself, Conrad,” Renee says, and while the amusement isn’t entirely gone from his tone, neither is his irritability. “Let me think of a nice word while you get used to it.”

Carefully, with a grimace of disgust marring his features, Conrad wraps his fingers around the razor’s handle, breathing impossibly shallow. Hands still cuffed to the hinge in the table, he moves the blade down one arm, until the edge barely brushes skin – and then he stops there, hovering. “I can’t do this,” he groans, sniffing. “I can’t do this.”

Renee chuckles. “Exactly how handicapped do you want to be in the near future? That’s the real question here.”

When Conrad turns to look at him, pale and wide-eyed, he cocks his head to the side. It takes the guy a while, but eventually, he takes a deep breath and quickly flicks the razor across his skin.

Renee kicks his feet on the ground, leaning over the table and squinting. From the shallow cut in Conrad’s arm, beads of blood begin to coalesce and run down onto the table. “Nah,” Renee says. “You’re gonna have to do better than that.”

“I can’t,” Conrad hisses.

Renee gets up, walking back to the table of tools to grab the hammer, bringing it back into Conrad’s view. “Drop the razor, then. Hold out your hands.”

Conrad shakes his head, teeth gritted against a sob. His hand clutching the straight razor is shaking. “I c-can’t do it,” he stammers.

Renee hits the table with the hammer hard enough to leave a dent in the wood, teeth bared under his mask. When Conrad flinches, Renee has the impulse to bring the hammer down on the guy’s stupid, curly head, feel that thick skull give way. He’s pretty sure he knows what kind of sound it would make.

Maybe something shows in his eyes, because Conrad winces and turns his attention back to the razor and his arm. Renee watches with spiteful, hungry eyes as the knife digs into flesh again, this time going deeper than before. The knife shakes so badly by the time he’s done with the cut, tiny droplets of blood are flicked from blade to table. Conrad lets out a whine as the pain hits him, rocking somewhat in his seat.

“Another,” Renee says. “This time, make it fucking count.”

A sob racks through Conrad’s frame as he tries to steady himself to cut again. “I hate you,” he hisses under his breath.

Renee just snickers, and waits, absentmindedly twirling the hammer in his hand.

The third time Conrad draws the razor across his forearm, he finally lets the blade bite deep. It’s fascinating to see his expression change from the anticipation of pain to something akin to shock as the wound gapes open under the knife – to actual pain when his nerves finally catch up. He lets out a cry, dropping the razor to the table, clutching his arm tight in his other hand. Blood creeps out between his fingers.

Renee raises a brow. “Not bad,” he says. Lets out a chuckle. “Now do it again.”

Conrad swallows, not looking up at him. “Again…?”

Renee shrugs. “C’mon, someone’s paying good money for this.” He pauses. “How about that, hm? I’ll let you carve out some dollar signs. Man’s gotta know his own worth.” He laughs.

Conrad looks on the verge of throwing up. Hand slick with blood, he warily picks the razor back up, steeling himself for another cut.

By chance, Renee’s eyes drift to the tablet as he waits for Conrad to bring the knife across again. “Oh, hang on,” he says. “There’s drama in chat.”

Amelia1-5: Someone ban cortesal.

Amelia1-5: keeps running his mouth

Renee snickers. “You think we have chat moderation? This isn’t fucking Twitch, Amelia.”

N0cturn4l: We got a preacher in chat ahaha

Ricochet: LMAO @cortesal448 just kill yourself honestly.

“Fuck, no, hang on, let’s see what this bitch has to say,” Renee chuckles, as he walks over to the tablet, scrolling back until he finds the comment from the right username. “The host is a coward through and through,” he reads. “He terrorizes someone he already knows can’t fight back, meanwhile he for sure can’t take what he dishes out… insecurity, bla bla… I wouldn’t be surprised if he… oh.” Renee pauses, squinting at the screen. “Oh that’s not family friendly.”

Laughing, he steps back from the screen, looking at the camera.

“You bring up some interesting points, I’ll admit, but you’re wrong about a few things. First of all,” he says, pulling a knife from his pocket. “I lay some mean pipe.”

He chuckles a little to himself as he flicks the knife open.

“Second of all… Can’t take what I dish out, huh? You think I’m a hypocrite. Really?”

Renee hitches up the sleeve, careful not to disturb his broken arm too visibly, and places the blade against the skin on his forearm. With a forefinger against the blade’s back, he presses the edge downwards and steadily moves it across. Pale skin is split layer by layer, anatomy he recognizes but can’t name. As blood begins to flow, creeping forward from sources not visible by the naked eye, the pain finally comes creeping too, a shrill note that fades in and almost immediately crescendos, deafening out most of everything else. He pays mind to it, acknowledges it, but doesn’t let it take over his body, not yet. Instead he keeps applying pressure until the knife makes it past bubbly deposits of fat to expose stringy bands of darker, more fibrous flesh, and to avoid permanent damage, he stops there, retracts the knife, closes his eyes, and leans his head back. One deep breath at a time, in through the nose, slow and steady, he lets it wash over him, lets it surround him without a fight; a rush is a rush is a rush…

As the immediate pain fades to a duller, more muffled ache, Renee gives a sharp shake of his head, rolls one shoulder. Opens his eyes and meets Conrad’s incredulous expression with amusement playing on his own.

With a sigh, he lightly sticks the tip of the knife into the wound as he holds it up to the camera, pointing to the darkest layer. “That right there is muscle,” he says. “I’ve made Conrad DeWitt scream and beg with less – so yeah, I can take it. I’d go as far as to say I can take it better.”

He dries the knife off in his pants, clicking it closed and sliding it back into his pocket.

Conrad’s just staring at him, open-mouthed.

Renee laughs. “What? Bitch called me a coward.” He shrugs. “Get back to work.”

That finally makes Conrad close his mouth.

Rai help do you know the persona lore can you tell me help

OMG OMG OMG OMG ARE YOU THINKING OF GETTING INTO PERSONA OR DID YOU JUST GET INTO IT???

Either way you have caught me at the right time because my long running Persona hyperfixation is in full swing babyyyyy

The Persona games are pretty disconnected other than a few elements here and there so I can tell you a bit of general persona lore but you’d have to specify a specific game if you wanted more info!!! (That would also be pretty general though to avoid spoilers!)

1. Persona games tend to follow the Fools Journey of the major tarot arcana with the protagonist always being the Fool! This is utilised differently throughout each of the games. One of the main aspects of the Fool is that they have limitless potential, which leads to one of the other main things shared between all persona protags: the Wild Card! The Wild Card leads you to be able to take on multiple different personas when usually a person can only have one. The protagonist grows and changes a lot as a person throughout the story, shown partially through systems like social stats but through other means as well, and both the personas they undertake through regular gameplay and also story related reasons reflect this!

2. The Velvet Room is a place between time and space ran by a man called Igor and usually at least one Velvet assistant (Persona 5 has two whilst the Q spin-off games have all the Velvet assistants from 3 and 4 or 3-5 depending on if you’re playing Q or Q2). It’s a place only accessible to those who hold the Wild Card within them and its form changes to reflect their heart and the challenges they’re facing. Persona 3’s is an elevator, Persona 4’s is a limo, and Persona 5’s is a prison! (I’m unsure what Persona 1 and 2’s look like as I haven’t played those two yet, apologies!). It doesn’t really have much lore beyond that as far as I know? But it is one of the only things shared across all the games.

3. The central themes of each game tend to be about accepting yourself and growing as a person (aka strengthening your heart, therefore strengthening your persona). I haven’t completed Persona 3 yet so I can’t exactly say how that’s utilised in that game just yet but in Persona 4 and 5 accepting the bad parts of yourself and going against others in order to follow your heart are one of the main parts and themes of the game.

4. Persona lore follows the Jungian psychology and takes it incredibly literally. Jungian psychology describes a persona as: “a kind of mask, designed on the one hand to make a definite impression upon others, and on the other to conceal the true nature of the individual." This is taken most literally in Persona 5 as they have to rip off the mask imposed upon them by society in order to access their true nature, aka their Persona, but it’s also somewhat similar in the previous two mainline games as well.

There’s certainly more to it than that but that’s what I can think of off the top of my head!!! If you wanna know more about the lore of a specific Persona Game just ask! Although I don’t know much about 3 at the moment as I’m only halfway through July in Reload- if you ever wanna talk about Persona just ask hehe I’d love to talk about it!!! Especially Persona 5, if you haven’t played the series yet and you’re trying to decide which one to start with is definetly recommend 5, specifically Royal but the original version is good too, Royal just has way more content and is better overall HDKSVXKSHXJ- it’s the one I started off with personally and I think it’s definitely the best intro to the series if you’re attempting to get into it. With the release of Reload, P3 is also a good way to get into the series and if you want a darker story that’s definitely the way to go but both are amazing options! Persona 5’s story is by no means worse than Persona 3’s though, I absolutely adore that game’s story and themes (there’s a reason I’ve played it 6 times HCKSGDKWBCKH-). If you want I can tell you more about both! The only game I wouldn’t recommend starting with is Persona 4, it’s not bad by any means but honestly if I wasn’t already hooked on Persona by the time I played it I probably would’ve dropped it, the dungeon crawling and battle systems of the older versions of 3 and both versions of 4 have uh… a few issues bcksgcksbckhs

So hi! I really love character creation, it's one of my favorite things to do :')

i'm wondering if there's anything in particular that inspires you

Music like the Beatles, ELO, Queen, Will Wood, indie, punk rock, and really whatever I get when I hit an interesting recommendation (I'm eclectic)

Video games: Persona series, Fallout, Hypnospace Outlaw, Undertale, Sally Face, umm also indie horror games are generally where it's at for me

Jojo's bizarre adventure, one punch man, neon genesis

I was a theater kid at some point and am inspired by Chicago, Cabaret, Cats, Rock of Ages, and Rocky Horror for their wackiness/vibes

Webtoons/comics: Paperteeth!, After Dark, I'm the Grim Reaper, Lovebot, Space Boy, Solid State, The Prince of Southland, Yuna and Kawachan, Electric Bones...

Besides media, I am inspired by people I interact with (which can help me build character relationships) and qualities I pull from the inside. Also, I have had a strong interest in psychology for a long time, so my stories are very character-centered. I also like throwing in a funny edge to most things I create because I don't like being serious 100% of the time. I like to experiment with irony a lot, as you do.

I'm inspired by ideas I wish people talked more about, what'd I liked to have seen as a child, untraditionally beautiful characters, wacky characters, and characters flaunting who they are because they're proud to be themselves. I love unfixable characters who learn to find worth, characters who are overly complex, characters who fall from grace, blah blah blah. Or sometimes I just write characters for fun and with no real motive, who gain a purpose later on by chance. But not all stories need lessons or purposes or morals or whatever. Some things are more fun when they're just existing because they can. I feel like my wip Crater City is like somewhere in between having a purpose and having none at all.

Other things that help inspire oc: drawing them with random art generators, scrapbooking their very own page, filling out oc interviews, participating in writeblr events/games, spending a whole day listening to their playlist, forcing myself to write one scene with them in it, pinterest-ing, creating a blog/journal/site about them, etc.

who/what jumpstarted you into creating your own characters and stories

I started writing as a small child and would create illustrated "stories" based on real events that happened in my life but lowkey exaggerate them because I was like 6, hehe. Or play with barbies or legos or whatever and that's its own thing right there. Then I moved on to big boy things like writing in notebooks about girls with horribly made up names that mysteriously resembled Disney princesses' names because I'm bad at naming things (see: my webkinz pet named "the blue whale").

I'm not sure what jumpstarted character creation for me, I guess it was always this ✨️💕thing inside me all along 💕✨️. I think it was because I was a quiet child and kept to myself, which meant a few friends and a lot of introspection at a young age. But I was/am inspired by things all around me. Things that make me feel nostalgic, bittersweet, or whatever other emotion that's hard for me to explain because emotions are weird for me.

As a child, I created ocs based on who I wanted to be more like. Ex: an outgoing hero with bold hair, a strong anti-hero with a bit of edge, an adventurous hero who easily befriends others, etc, etc.

As a teen, I created ocs fueled by spite ("I can make better ocs than half of you seasoned authors even if I'm just a kid") and also my knowledge of the dsm-5. I think I was inspired most by my trauma, so yeah, that'll do it to you. I still dig deep down for some inspo from my Deep Dark Past™, which has helped me understand myself and ocs better, who would have guessed? But this doesn't exempt me from research.

As an adult I am motivated to write because of the impending doom that we all die some day so I better wrap it up before something happens to me and I lose my ability to write by some chance I'm out of college and I have my whole life ahead of me and have no more boring essays tying me down :'DD

so technically (aside from catboy ot3) all ships are rotating in my brain at all times, and it kind of depends on what thing i've become re-obsessed with at any given moment. i am on a duo of fire emblem and ace attorney eras all over again, so chrobin (both robins), ike/soren and klapollo are all on the brain. also ryukita for persona 5 since we started replaying that one recently. also flynn/yuri from tales of vesperia bc they're a very fun dynamic i like chewing on. rowan/graha/estinien just. lurks at the back of my mind at all times klhgkjh

first ship ever: percy/annabeth from the pjo books, i think? thats the oldest i can remember, bc i got into the series in middle school. for other not-first ships, i think roughly around then i was also just dabbling in ds games of all kinds. i definitely read the pokemon special/pokemon adventures manga and shipped red/yellow, and then protag/keith in the second pokemon ranger game. i wrote....so much fanfiction back then...

last song: if we're being technical it's a lofi mix i have on for work (link to my work playlist here if you want it) but otherwise, it's been XIV/genshin/star rail OSTs and a mix of ok goodnight/casey lee williams the edge and fall out boy's so much for stardust album, though really it's the first two songs

last movie: UHHHHH i think the most recent indiana jones movie? my dad took me for my birthday last month, hehe. NO WAIT IT WAS BARBIE the barbie movie was good

currently reading: unfortunately i dont read books all that much any more, and mostly the same for fics. i guess this is the time to give me book recs?

currently watching: well, nothing really TV show wise, though i was hoping to maybe start a rewatch of the first few arcs of fairy tail. we'll see. i mostly watch youtube nowadays, and usually it's a combination of channels. playframe happens to be my favorite (nice and varied playthrough content, but also just a really nice husband/wife duo that plays things together and with their friends). i also enjoy studson studio since i want to do more diorama building and he's the one that got me interested in it :)

currently consuming: ough sweet tarts and a ginger ale technically speaking, im like a zombie at work today and hoping the sour and bubbly will keep me awake @_@ but i did have a nice yoghurt and croissant for breakfast (i promise i eat normal meals and i just happen to be snacking rn fldkjgh)

Jumin - mostly it is stress !! He is always a Little bit stressed he is very busy all the time !! But when things get to him on a Personal level [like if Elizabeth III is in danger or the RFA or when he has to interact with his dad’s new girlfriends… I think there is one more thing the game said bothered him Especially but I can’t remember what it is !! Oops !!!] ALSO if he is overstimulated he regresses too !! when he is more comfy regressing he has positive triggers too like being called certain nicknames or certain cat characters he might see OR actually this one is not really positive but Also it is not negative but he thinks it is. Very Inconvenient !! But wearing a mask starts to be something that makes him feel little just because it is something he does most often when he Is little and similarly !! Sometimes putting a diaper on for bed makes him feel small !!

Yoosung - if ANYONE babies him he WILL be a baby in response 🤍 including praising him and calling him cute OR teasing or worrying for him which !! Happens often hehe… SO much makes him regress like. Thinking too hard about regressing triggers it !! Talking about Rika makes him regressed and upset though :(

Seven - he doesn’t regress too often especially when he is Big Brother In Charge but. EXTREMELY easy way to make him regress is. Vanderwood getting frustrated with him jsjsjsj Vanderwood isn’t Exactly his caregiver but he definitely has a. Naggy mom role tehe

Saeran - for positive triggers… ice cream! It reminds him of the good parts of his childhood… but unfortunately that is kind f… the only good happy one 🥺 most f th time he regresses for a specific reason it is becaus of nightmares :(

Ray - he has a lot of similar negative triggers as Saeran but more positive ones !! He regresses when people are affectionate toward him 🤍

Persona 5

Akira - soso many once again… affection… praise… AND also when he feels like he did something wrong :( he ALSO regresses if he does stuff he does when he is little !! Like consuming kiddy media or colouring or playing games or I don’t know !! Wah !! Oh accidents too !! They make him feel Very little

Futaba - she regresses when she is scared or overwhelmed :( but more POSITIVELY she mostly regresses when Kira is already regressed !! She loooves being his cool big sister 🤍

Akechi - regresses when he is overwhelmed and when he is frustrated he throws BIG tantrums

Mishima - he !! regresses when he feels safe I think ๑❛ᴗ❛๑ like hm. After something scary when things are okay again !! he is. Forever Relieved he doesn’t regress IMMEDIATELY when things are scary he doesn’t like to think about what would have happened if he regressed in front of Kamoshida :( and being praised of course. Yuu - weh… difficult I was just about to say But perhaps not. As much as I first thought he regresses when other people baby him and this is Vague it. Includes even when Yosuke buys food for him and stuff like that !! Also specifically !!! Bunny apples because Ayane and he eat them when they regress together 🤍

Yosuke - often he regresses when he is anxious !! mostly in a jealous way like if he feels left out he is like 🥺🥺🥺 but Also when either Chie or Yuu are regressed he almost ALWAYS does he is their big brother !!

Chie - sometimes when she is watching kung fu movies and practicing her moves she is having so much fun and she regresses !! And also when Yosuke is regressed she is almost ALWAYS his little sister + when Yuu is regressed she likes to be his big sister but she doesn’t always regress to do that

Kanji - cute things 🤍 especially more “girlish” cute things because he is more comfortable presenting in a more traditionally “feminine” way when he’s little !! He loves soft things especially like stuffed animals and blankets AND he also loves cute little animal crackers 🤍 all of these things help him regress !!!!! AND also when his friends are gentle with him 🤍

Naoto - he regresses either when he is overwhelmed OR when he is having fun !!! Especially if he is solving puzzles !!!! He loves those 🤍

Teddie - it is kind of hard to tell when he is regressed or not because VERY little changes but he does it when he is having fun OR when he and Yosuke fight that is an INSTANT little brother trigger

Ayane - I think she is. Like me !!!! She is almost always kind of little she is just also almost always able to pretend she’s not around people she doesn’t trust [everyone but Yuu] the only triggers she has to make her feel so little she can’t as easily hide it are when she has to settle for things she doesn’t like for the sake of others’ happiness and also !!!! Bunny apples ๑❛ᴗ❛๑

Lookism (no one cares but me 🤍)

Jay - getting attention especially from Daniel !!! He is kind of easy to trigger most of the time it is not specific but when Daniel talks to him it certainly makes him regress

Vasco - ouuuu being taken care of and fussed over 🤍 like after he gets in a fight when Jace cleans him up Easy start to baby time !!! Especially if he gets a cool bandaid !!!!!!!

hi!!!! i come bearing gifts! heeeere is physicist. i changed some aspects about them like turning the overalls from olive to black because i really enjoy the black/red/white palettes. i also gave them those gloves (for their science experiments where they mix chemicals up so their hands dont explode? i truly know nothing about physics). im definitely gonna overhaul their design at some point because i think they need more flair so they fit in with the rest of the dr cast yk. im still working on a full portrait of them atm (color shading etc etc) which i sincerely hope u will enjoy

also! i wanted to throw in here: PLEASE listen to me and michael + when you die (both my mgmt) if you haven’t already bc those 2 songs have kokichi/physicist written all over them.

the front pocket was not originally part of the overalls btw! they wanted a larger place to store more of their things so they clumsily tried to sew a pocket into an item of clothing without knowing much about sewing or anything. they were really bummed when it turned out looking weird but eventually came to enjoy the personality it added to their fit.

the kokichi doodle at the bottom is him playing with their glasses! they are basically just the talks a lot + listens dynamic,, also i feel VERY weird about kokichi’s hair i swear i messed up somehow while drawing it but i can’t figure out what exactly it was. the little stick figures of physicist and oma were me on my last brain cell but i think that’s them for the entire fic in a nutshell. oma likes to go on villain monologues and physicist is done with his bullshit!

the big physicist on the left is them posing for a picture! they look awkward because i imagine them being kinda camera shy. i also imagine whoever took the picture just kinda snuck up on them and snapped.

ah yes yes and the fan game! i’m partway through the prologue and if you want i can send you a short demo of the draft i have so far? so far it’s taken a turn from the traditional dr games since i got rid of the movement mechanic,, so now it’s more of like a VN than anything! i don’t know HOW i’m going to draw all the CGs and sprite customization options (thank you to @/goldentime for the idea by the way i really appreciate it :D) and write all the code as well as do the ost and decal and all that other stuff but i will find a way! somehow. it’s been really fun though and i’m actually very proud of what i have so far!!

anyways. ty for writing sleep awake! it’s crazy to me that such a long and gorgeously written fic is up on the internet for FREE. it’s definitely better than most original fiction is, and dare i say, much much better than the actual v3. i love what you did with chapter 3, the trial felt soo natural i forgot several times that it wasn’t what was in the actual game! it’s obvious how much time and effort you put into research, planning, and writing, and it really shows! so thank you <333

the gloves r such a neat addition!!! the block colouring n black and red kind of reminds me of the persona 5 artstyle which is a huge compliment!!! i lov their hair... their lil glasses... the freckles.... so so cute. will be turning this version of mc over in my head Forever !

hehe the little kokichi interactions give me so much life. the one of him fiddling with their glasses is so immaculate and u have their vibe absolutely down pat, 'talks a lot' and 'listens' is simply just THEM!!! oh but it sometimes goes the other way around when mc starts rambling abt physics n ouma is jus. jus sitting there. absorbing it all. mc's little blush is adorable and i totally think kokichi would just fiddle with their glasses or clothes while talking. is he doing it on purpose?? who knows???

I HAVE LISTENED TO WHEN U DIE BEFORE (it was actually my first mgmt song!!!) and holy shit ur so right. my third eye has been so closed,, and urs has been so open. definitely feels like kokichi talking to the mc like, putting on this evil mean facade, wanting them to hate him so he can keep up with his mastermind shtick and keep them at arms length but sigh, they know him too well and the act isn't holding up. i listened to me and michael because i hadn't heard it before and yes yes YES i see the vision. the closeness of two people being affected by red flags or toxicity or just other people or outside factors.... god. thinking so so hard abt this now and they're both going on the sleep awake playlist!!!

I WOULD LOVE FOR U TO SEND ME WHAT U HAVE ALREADY FOR THE GAME WHAT!!! WHAT!!! holy shit. it turning out like a visual novel is probably ideal, right?? i dont know anything abt game development AT ALL so forgive me if i say something dumb but most fan games dont include all the complex mechanisms from actual danganronpa games and most tend to just either be youtube vids or click and point thingies or just. yeah. visual novels!! which is so good.

as for the cg's and stuff, i dont rly know :( i would offer to draw them myself if i was any good at art, basically all im good at is sprite edits but im trash at anatomy and stuff so i rly dont think i would be any help. i would suggest commissioning but thats probably way too expensive, and again, like. i would commission stuff myself but im so broke at the moment. i COULD always commission some stuff when my student finance comes in, because i'll have a bit extra this year as my accommodation is way less expensive. but we can cross that bridge when we come to it i think!!! whatever ends up happening will be more than fine by me!!! im literally so excited

Doing this cause I got nothing left to do let's go

I'm doing physically well, if you can call "staying on a seat for the entire day well" with just my bines cracking.

The first part of my exams are in a week and I'm pretty sure I'm going to die. Today I just had the motivation to work on subject on 7. Great.

I started and finished Moonknight in 24 hours and I had a blast ! The co-op between Marc and Steven was epic and I had my "what is reality" moment that I had reading the comic. I also restarted Kimetsu No Yaiba because of one youtube video. That's it.

On another note, I realized I didn't touch my tablet since January and ... I feel a bit guilty about it, I don't know if it's my laziness speaking but I want to draw something but I don't know WHAT to draw so I'm kinda stuck ?

I try to take every bit of hapiness in life, but waking up at 10 am is not a way to study, I have to correct this.

Went into the BNHA fandom. I have finished reading everything interesting and looking at my screen thinking : "What now ?"

So thank to AO3, I am back once again into Persona.

This would be great if I could play them, but like 75% of Persona fans, I don't posses the right console. So I'm stuck between watching let's plays and reading fics (Some of you are into some weird shit and I am not sorry for kinkshaming you). I'm thinking that I really want to write a fic but I know that I don't have the willpower to regularly post (hehe look at Alcandra 2,5 years and still in hiatus). I just hope I will finally be able to write something other than schoolwork because it fucking sucks.

November, December & Half Of January Review

Yup. I do love lying. "I'm gonna try to do this every month". Hah. my *ss.

So, what happened to me during these month ?

For November, nothing. I just thought abiut "how about I make NNN again for the second consecutive year ?" and I finished it. +1 on satisfaction and that led me to my mental state of today. I know that some of my friends from schools are watching my blog (and I see you) and they tried but lost at the 25th. I judge you people. I then proceeded to uninstall reddit from my phone to get that sweet Go. No regrets, this app sucks more online data that youtube. Speaking of this bitch, it is way less entertaining than before. I don't know if it's me or what I'm watching, but I'm starting to get into my *winter mood* (aka I become apathetic toward pretty much everything). It's sucks. I feel like I don't deserve what I have and I hate this. Trying to make less depreciative "jokes" is helping but I just want to let it past me. But I lost myself in time.

December was more eventful. First, my Birthday. For being one year closer to adulthood, I'm scared. Like the world is waiting to devour me whole. But I got Metroid Dread ! Go play this game, I was able to escape the spoilers like Pm:TOK and these hours were 100% worth it. I also got a Gamecube controller and finnaly, I can play with my friend without the joycons. School is ... school is shit. I say it, and I'll say it again and again : school is fucked up. Some classes are just plain boring. Like, why the fuck is philosophical classes mandatory ? WHY ? 5 months, and it will end. I hope. The holydays I got for Christmas and New Year were the hardest. For 3 whole weeks, we didn't have a kitchen. I when you have to feed 7 people, It's Hell. For Christmas, I got myself amiibos.

Please, whoever is listening to us, be the devil or god, make Covid stop. I'm tired, you're tired, and if you're not, then you're dead. I'm happy that my family was not hit by this, but I don't want more suffering.

There things I still have to do. My homework, and study how to drive.

After a quick in and out of the Danganronpa fandom (thanks for the flluff btw) I came back into the Persona fandom (and I never left the Fire Emblem and TLOZ fandoms). I now realize that my entier schedule is based around my time on A03. I have to stop, or lessen my need. Hopefully, i did read what I wanted.

Time to prepare myself, for the future, I guess. Shame. Would have loved to stay a child forever, but sometimes, you have to give up on privileges to gain more.

That should be a wrap of what I wanted to say. I will my another post describing the moveis I saw during this time. ~toodles~

November 2023 Goals Update

Extra long this month, very busy month and it's not even over but I thought I'd get this together early!

2023 Goals

Recurring:

Pilates/workout(use the mats and equipment you own!!!) - No

Grow out my hair!! No dying, cutting or heat tools.- ❌

Get outside to stargaze once a week.- Yes!! Getting colder now though so it'll be the end of this! Just getting out for the big lunar events for the rest of the year!

Tasks:

Read 9 books- 4/9 complete!! I have not much inspiration on my bookshelf right now. I might just go ahead and re-read my fav!

Get my G2!- ❌ I cancelled it, I'm just not in a good place to do it. Hoping to get it done by the end of next year though! I got time hehe, this was added as a maybe for this year!

Play Persona 5 Tactica- Working on it, it's good but I'm feeling so underwhelmed with it tbh.

Play Star Ocean 2 Remake- ✅ DONE!! We got the platinum trophy too 😎

Complete:

Finish bathroom walls- ✅

Organise the craft room closet- ✅

Get the mending pile in order!! ✅

Complete one model kit- ✅

Get two more houseplants- ✅ 7- String of Hearts variegated and normal, String of Turtles, String of Pearls, Pearls and Jade pothos, mini Rubber plant, neon pothos

Sew two staple garments-✅

Organisational systems for each room (making fabric bins and other things!)- ✅

Play Dead Space Remake- ✅

Highlights:

Turned 24!! I'm so ready to keep ageing and moving forward. I feel the happiest and most secure in myself than I have felt in years. This year has been really embracing the multiple facets that make me “me”. I'm so excited for this decade, there's many big life events to come and I'm just so happy for all of the progress I've made and how I can be the best version of myself now and for my future.

Painted the bathroom door beige! Next year I’d love to touch up the pink paint in the bathroom and work on the kitschy forest mural pieces! I wanna add more purple/red/browns in there!!

I started a new creative project with a local friend! So excited to see what we make together.

Switched up the living room curtains to the white and lavender floral ones and it's so bright and welcoming there! I can't wait to have guests over to show them hehehehe

I stocked up on a bit of makeup, clothing, and, Lush hair bar products again, love them!!

I had Cristal for the first time!! We had a bottle gifted to us and ugh I've been spoiled, it's so good!

Christian got me a copy of the sewing book that taught me much of what I know today! So happy to look at my bookshelf and have small chunks of the books that I read over and over again.

Hubby also got me a brass mouse and a brass unicorn picture frame that were also my childhood decor pieces! I feel like my twenties so far have been collecting much of my favourite childhood decor pieces that I've lost over the years so my kids can have them! I can't wait until my future little ones can be able to grow up in a home with things I grew up with.

My in-laws got me a lava lamp(neon green wax and driftwood pattern base) and a pair of these really cute white knit embroidered half gloves for my birthday!

Sewing area was redone and cute as heck! I'm using my 1960s sewing table now and I loooove it.

I've been bonding with Coach Beard so much this month, I love my little Bearded Dragon friend so much hehehehe

I re-organized our china cabinet and it looks so nice! I'm so happy to have a row of books on top of the cabinet itself too!!

We had our car break down for the first time. We got a maintenance appointment to check things out! Not too worried, just gotta wait to find out more!

I've been working on my 2024 goal list! I've been working at separating my goals into different categories. I love having them listed by hobby and specific projects. I’m also adding some personal goals I'll have in my private journal! I've also been able to pull things specifically from my 5 year goals which feels great! I've been able to check off goals from the long term goal list over the past few years and I'm so excited to build onto it and recognize the progress I've made these past few years. Who would have thought the thing that has been suggested to me in therapy on and off for the past ten years would help me if I was consistent, LOL. These yearly goals have helped me find my footing and feel confident in my decisions and myself. I'm struggling with the decision to keep them on my blog next year though, but I still have time to decide! Only just over a month left of 2023 😁

HEY HEY HEY ROSS!! :D Been a while hehe. How have you been?? Are you getting enough rest? Eating well? Drinking plenty of water? How's your summer been?? :D

My summer's been uh something but!! I'm done with finals and all and!! Today was my first day as a med student and it went much better than I thought! I also got lost in the city because I'm a countryside gremlin and have no sense of orientation but i found my way to the right bus on time after much trial and error,, all in all things are going pretty well for me rn and i hope it's the same for you!!

Anything interesting happen?? Have you started any new game, are you having fun?? :D

i’ve been...bored. my dad left for work two weeks ago or so and it’s been real quiet ever since. but he’s coming back today!!

my sleep has been all over the place lately- and i would call exactly none of it good. sometimes it’s 5 hours, sometimes it’s 14 hours, sometimes i go to sleep when the sun rises... i’m struggling :):)

my appetite has been better lately. i’m eating a little more than usual, and by that i mean i’m eating 3 meals instead of 2 a day. made me realize how hungry i am when i wake up. and yes! i drink water whenever i’m thirsty!

my summer barely felt like summer lol- it just felt like many regular Tuesdays back to back? occasional Friday popped in there? maybe i have a short memory but i don’t remember anything. i’m just glad it’s getting a little chilly here because it means winter is coming, which means the Persona games coming to the Switch are coming!!

i started Pokémon Legends Arceus some time ago! caught all 240 pokemon in that game twice on different Switch profiles, right now i’m trying to get the shiny charm on my main file. i’ve also been getting into Persona 4 Golden, but i don’t have anything to play it on. i don’t have money for steam, let alone an entire other console. i’ll just be waiting for the switch release, i guess

» it’s safe to say he probably didn’t get much growing up when it came to the love department, so your nature to show love though hugs and whatnot was strange to him at first but became something he yearned for from you

» i can totally see him not knowing what to do the first time you hugged him, he was probably so stiff bear with my guy

walking into yusuke’s dorm room after akira had told you he wasn’t at leblanc, you took off to the next area you thought you’d find your boyfriend in and low and behold, there he was. sleeves rolled back with soft classical music playing, you weren’t sure if he had heard you enter. his mind was focused on the painting in front of him, which explains why he wasn’t answering the phone.

“yusuke? hey, are you in there or did you succumb to your ‘tunnel vision, must focus on painting’ mode already?” you laughed, stepping forward. you placed the little gift bag you hand in your hands on top of the table before walking towards your boyfriend.

you heard him mumble something, along the lines of ‘that’s a stupid way to put it, did futaba come up with that?”

wrapping your arms around his neck, you rest your head on his shoulder all the while feeling his body tense, the hand that was carefully stroking color on the canvas freezing in place. “it looks lovely so far, ‘suke.” as you start to get up, you feel his hand that was previously holding the paintbrush latch onto one of your arms, his way of telling you to stay.

you smile and lean closer into him, watching the way he adds strokes of colors onto the canvas to create beautiful works.

“i apologize for not returning your messages,” he says, “i was ever so focused on this, making sure it turned out perfect.”

“it’s alright, i mean it will always turn out amazing, it is you after all.”

“well this one in particular needs to be perfect, it’s for you and i refuse to hand you a poorly done work.”

“what? man, you beat me to it,” you whined as he chuckled, “i brought you this mini sculpture i made with the clay you gave me, but there’s no way it can amount to this beauty of a painting.”

“nonsense, whatever you make and gift me is to be treasured more than anything in this world, i can’t wait to see it.”

you softly hummed to the music playing in the background, watching your lover do what he loves the most in his environment—besides you of course. your arms never leaving his body, only momentarily to pull up a chair so you could continue watching him. these were moments neither of you would ever give up.

» in conclusion he would definitely adore the ways you show him that you love him, he may not have been used to it at first but now it’s a staple in your relationship:)
