Falling For You - Lockwood x Reader

”Fine. First person to…er, feel something, loses. Deal?”

It wasn’t a question as much as it was a challenge. She hesitated. He took a sip from his mug. She let go of the breath she was holding.

“Deal.”

She and Lucy were in the kitchen, putting the kettle on and waiting for the boys to reach home. The four of them had split up to get some errands done that morning before breakfast - she and Lucy went to collect the payment for a few jobs, while Lockwood and George dropped off some paperwork at DEPRAC headquarters. Lucy put the kettle on while she refilled their teabag jar, and a minute later the boys walked in.

George was telling Lockwood off for something, who wasn't looking too sorry for whatever it was that he had done, though he clearly cared enough to try to suppress his giggles.

"Those forms took me hours, Lockwood. I wasn't about to let you drop them into some slush."

"I keep telling you, I wasn't going to drop them."

"How would you know when you were too busy making an ass of yourself?"

"I haven't seen a good pickup line in a while, George. You found it funny too."

"Yes, and the threat of you chucking our forms was downright hilarious."

She handed out the mugs of tea.

"What pickup line?"

"It was just a DEPRAC ad. Something like 'Are you a wraith? Because you have me love-locked.' Just a reminder of some quick signs of a visitor presence for Valentine's Day."

She meandered over to where Lockwood was standing at the kitchen counter, a little too casual. He immediately snapped up whatever he was scribbling. She looked mildly (read: exaggeratedly) injured, but he just gave her one of his winning smiles. Really, she was well within her rights to be suspicious.

"S'that?"

"A bill."

"What bill?"

"Nothing to worry about."

"I'm not worried."

"Good."

"Show me the bill."

"You're adorable."

It was a poor excuse of an attempt at a distraction, as she immediately started trying to snatch it away. Lockwood just held the folded paper above his head, trying to pry his jacket out of her yanking hands. After a minute or so of vehement struggling, the scuffle ended the way all of their scuffles ended - her playing at sour grapes.

"Oh! Go boil-yer-head. I don't even want to see that bill anyway."

He slotted the letter into an envelope smoothly as George cut in.

"Speaking of bills, hopefully, we'll be able to pay more of them off soon. Couples like to go away for Valentine's, so it's the perfect time to get any lingering visitors taken care of. We should put an ad in the paper, like DEPRAC."

That set Lockwood off again, and George groaned. As he got up to get another biscuit, she conspiratorially turned to Lockwood.

"Y'know, for someone who's so tickled by pickup lines, I bet you'd be terrible at them."

"Not more terrible than you."

"I beg to differ!"

"Wanna bet?"

"Thought you'd never ask."

“First person to laugh loses.”

Their bet had taken a back burner in her mind while she was preparing for their case that night, but she was still immediately suspicious when she walked into the kitchen to see Lockwood innocently snacking on a bowl of raisins.

"What did you do?"

"Nothing."

"What are you going to do?"

"Nothing! Can't a guy eat his raisins?" He silently proferred the bowl to her. She narrowed her eyes.

"No thanks."

"How about a date?"

"When did we get - oh. Ha ha." There was a mischievous crinkle in Lockwood's eye. "Sneaky. I was busy preparing for our case, like a proper agent."

"Hmm, excuses, excuses."

"Fine. If George finds out you haven't read tonight's case file, you're on your own."

"NO no no no please please please -"

She prepped a few pickup lines before they left, just enough to stop Lockwood from becoming completely unbearable.

"Are you a visitor? Because you've been haunting my dreams."

She scrunched up her nose. "Boo. That's terrible."

"You try coming up with a visitor-themed one. They're all so horrible."

She paused for a minute.

"Are you a Lurker? 'Cause you're making my heart race."

"...no one likes a show-off," he grumbled, and she smiled to herself as they continued rooting through boxes, looking for a potential Source.

"Your hand looks heavy. Could I hold it for you?"

"What's it like to be the most gorgeous person in this room?" That one got a good laugh out of him.

"Might be more flattering if my competition wasn't a Raw Bones. You’re pretty and I’m cute. Wanna be pretty cute together?"

"If you and I were socks, we'd make a great pair."

She revelled in the huge smile that lit up his face. She knew he'd get a kick out of that one.

She hadn't expected to have as much fun with their game as she did. They recounted their highlights to Lucy and George on the way home, which made for an entertaining end to the case. As Lucy and George put away their coats, Lockwood lingered behind, looking at her as if there was something he wanted to say, but couldn't quite find the words. She became even more alarmed when he placed a hand on her shoulder, because of how serious he looked.

"Is everything okay?"

He took a shaky breath and tightened his grip on her shoulder ever so slightly.

"If you let me borrow a kiss, I promise I'll give it right back."

The line itself wasn't particularly outrageous, but in the darkness by the door, with their faces in the shadows and him holding her close, she momentarily forgot how to breathe.

"Good one," she whispered.

He gave her a sloping smile and retreated into the kitchen. She stood there for a moment, thinking about the warmth on her shoulder, as if his hand was still there.

"Did it hurt?"

"When I fell from heaven?"

"When you fell down the stairs. Right in front of us. It's been ten minutes and you haven't even gotten up yet."

With a strangled wheeze, he righted himself, looking more than a little stupid with his affronted expression and hair sticking up in all directions. They were on a case, and Lockwood had been a bit too close to the stairs whilst investigating the death glow on the landing. It had been quite a painful-looking rollercoaster of a fall with many bumps as he flailed for the railings, ending with a muffled scream.

"I was checking for broken bones."

"For ten minutes? Do you even have that many bones?"

He had an oily smirk on his face, though it was mostly nullified by his slightly crossed eyes.

"I've got...so many bones, I could give you a...wait. No. Hey lady, do you want a...bone? If you were a bone, you'd be in my...body...my body has all the bones...hang on. Okay, got it. Bones....fuck."

"...concussion?"

"Nuh-uh."

That was the moment his knees chose to buckle under him, and the three of them hurried to hold him upright. Even though he kept insisting he was fine, he was looking far too pale and woozy, so they flagged down a cab and pushed Lockwood into it. After a quick round of rock paper scissors, she joined him in the cab while George and Lucy got to stay to finish the job.

It had been a bit of a challenge to fumble for the key to the front door with the dead weight that was Lockwood compressing her spine, but she somehow managed. She tried her best to keep track of all of his long limbs after he knocked his head on the side of the door frame, groaning again. She dumped him onto their living room sofa, going down with him in the process, and with some difficulty peeled herself out of his grip. The bump had clearly taken quite a bit out of him, for by the time she returned with a blanket, he had completely passed out.

With some difficulty, she wrestled his rapier off of him and draped the blanket over him. She put away her own gear and rapier and curled up with a book on the armchair opposite the sofa. It was odd to see Lockwood sleeping. And even more odd to see him doing it so peacefully, like all thoughts and worries had been knocked clean out of his head. Much like her thoughts, the first time they met.

It hadn’t even been her goddamn fault. She had been lugging around her uncle’s rapiers since hers had been sent for cleaning and it was starting to make her arm ache. She deserved a little lean, no doubt. Only, what she thought was the door frame had been the door itself, so when her then-future employer had opened the door, she stumbled right into his arms.

And then promptly fell out of them when he let her go by surprise. To his credit, he was superfluously apologetic and sympathetic, and kept asking if her head was alright throughout the interview. It was a little annoying, if she were entirely honest, but she was grateful when that sympathy translated into a job, because all coherent thoughts in her head were lying somewhere on their front door runner.

As much as she tried not to think about the incident since Lockwood showed no sign of doing so himself, it kept her up at night more than she'd like to admit. But it had also been rather liberating, as there was little else she could do that would be any worse.

As if hearing her thoughts, Lockwood began to stir after an hour or so, opening his eyes blearily. She instinctively put her book down and crouched next to the sofa, where she immediately felt awkward. After a moment's hesitation, she placed her hand on his forehead, and they blinked at each other in confusion.

"How're you feeling?"

"Great." He cleared his throat, which barely helped his hoarse voice. "Chipper."

"Are you sure? Feeling chilly?"

"No, I'm fine. Are you a construction worker?"

"...huh?"

"Because you are building."

"What."

"I win."

He turned to his side and buried his face into his cushion with a satisfied look on his face.

"Oh, Lockwood. I don't think..."

He pulled his head out of the cushion alarmingly fast. That couldn't have been good for his neck. "Ohhh, too good for my pickup lines now, eh?"

"I...what?"

"I get a bump on my head and you don't like my pickup lines no more?"

"Why do you have a Brooklyn accent?"

"You's got a Brooklyn accent."

"Okay, now you're just throwing a tantrum."

He fussed for a few more minutes, muttering out of the corner of his mouth or into the cushion, but eventually calmed down. As his eyes fluttered close, his breathing becoming long and even, she quietly got up to leave.

"Just so you know...I do think you're building."

The Brooklyn accent was gone, and though his low murmur was comfortably familiar, something in it sent a spark running through her brain.

"I think you're building too."

She could have sworn he had a small smile before his mouth relaxed as he drifted off again.

She didn't see much of him after that, given how much rest he needed, and the reprieve from their game was a welcome relief. The pickup lines didn't slide off her tongue as easily when she meant them as much as she did now. Still, she couldn't hide from him forever, and ran into him in the kitchen a few nights later.

"Oh. Hey."

He held up the biscuit tin. "Hello. Catching up on my biscuit rations."

She smiled. "Feeling better?"

"Definitely. A little sick of lying about, but I think I've finally got my head on straight."

He smiled, and the tension between them melted. She smiled back.

"Must have been scary, having your brain go wonky like that."

"It was...wild. I don't even know how I had the presence of mind to put my rapier away."

Her cheeks burned as she pointedly rummaged through their pantry for a snack while Lockwood brewed tea for the both of them. They sat at the kitchen table in silence, slowly sipping their tea as they ignored the elephant in the room. That is, until Lockwood broached the subject.

“Did it hurt?”

She put her mug down. “Lockwood.”

“Did it hurt?” He pressed, firmly.

“I’ve already heard this one.”

“Just - humour me for a minute, won’t you?”

She looked at the little she could see of his face, given how close they were sitting, and gave a small sigh.

“So. Did it hurt?”

“When I fell from heaven?”

“When you fell into my life.”

He lightly squeezed her hand, it was only then that she realised that they were holding hands. She choked on her breath in a mildly undignified manner, but with the proximity and the unexpected answer, she was well and truly taken aback. She waited for the embarrassment to kick in. There were a lot of things to be embarrassed about at that moment - how he could probably see every imperfection on her face, how he could probably tell how nervous she was getting from how clammy her palm must be, and of course that he remembered their dreadfully embarrassing first encounter.

But the shame never came. If anything, she felt oddly…touched. There wasn’t anything embarrassing about the memory anymore. It was…as much as it pained her to admit it…slightly romantic. She looked away from his face, shaking her head slightly, staring at their gripping hands. So easy it was to hold onto each other in the shadows, but terrifying in the daylight. Scratch that, it was terrifying to see herself holding his hand just as tightly as he held hers. Maybe he did compel…something in her.

His hand disappeared into his pocket, and a moment later he was pulling out a familiar, weathered envelope.

"I've never...I've never asked anyone to be my Valentine. Never knew how it worked. Still don't really know how it works. So I tried writing it all down, and..." Lockwood frowned at the loopy yet measured scrawls in front of him. He sighed in defeat, crumpling the letter. "...and I still don't know how it works."

She swallowed through the lump in her throat. "Me neither. But..." she tore her eyes away from the table, looking at his face with his emotions stacked plain as day. "I think we know enough."

She curled her fingers into his. Years ago, she hadn't thought knowing if she was in love would ever be an issue, but for so many years she struggled to find the love they wrote books, songs and poetry about. But sitting here now, in the dim light of the kitchen, with a person whose face she could trace in her sleep, she realised Little Her had had it right all along.

“I always thought you were very nice to me in that interview. A little too nice.”

“You didn’t hear the way you screamed. I thought you were going down with a heart attack.”

S2 episode 22 (By Any Other Name) I changed the opening for this one because I left myself the note of “That wasn’t funny pls change it”

Well that’s what you get now:

- McCoy and Spock are frozen arguing

- “Try to escape or disobey and you will be severely punished.” Welp.. we know what’s gonna happen now, don’t we.

- McCoy and Kirk ready to go out and break stuff and Spock supporting it but also like “You don’t know what the fuck you’re looking for.”

- THEYRE HOLDING SPOCK (McCoy I see that hand around his waist)

- Oh my god they’re gonna kill both of the redshirts in one go

- Kirk chair swivel (I’m so glad his chair can swivel, it’s something Picard misses out on)

- GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM UHURA. NO! They got Uhura and Chekov!

- Kirk is losing all of his friends/found family. This is hell. Who wrote this.

- oh my god, an honest Bones and Kirk fight, this is.. not good

- “Assist me.” “You’re idea doctor, go ahead.” Kirk is still mad and so is Bones but I wouldn’t let him near one of those guys

- “It’s quite good.” “I’m delighted😒” Bones knows how to sass

- “oh, you are trying to seduce me.” Kirk: 😨

- Scotty: Drinking. McCoy: Drugs. Kirk: Sex. Spock: …Chess

- McCoy smiles at one of the Kelvan’s correcting him… it’s like having a bunch of Spock’s on board

- Spock pats McCoy’s shoulder

- Scotty’s mission accomplished unsuccessfully

- Kirk gets THROWN

- Kirk getting caught by Spock and McCoy and then immediately saying, “I’m stimulating him.” Wild

- McCoy and Spock just watching their boyfriend beat up/choke out a guy

- WOW! That worked 😃👍

Our bl boys love the beach or a gay little pool scene, yet sometimes their swim technique… could use a little improvement. As an ex swimmer I can’t help but notice when certain characters aren’t swimming properly so I’ve compiled a short & silly list going from least worst to most worst of imo the worst swimming atrocities in bl

this would probably look a lot better with gifs so you could see them in action but I don’t have the skill

1. Kongpob in sotus ep8 2/4

he drowned for attention :/ like get up lol. Gay people are so dramatic

2. Palm in never let me go ep2 2/4

Now we’re onto actual swimming critique. I’m sorry but what are his feet & legs doing. He’s here to practice swimming but he’s not even kicking above water?? I don’t see a single splash. Why is he turning his whole chest for every stroke. His head is above the water too so we gotta get a lot more horizontal and start looking down. Love u Palm but you gotta work on that. Also very funny that nuengdiao sits and watches him swim... like your gay ass doesn’t care abt needing a “teacher” you’re just here to Gaze Homosexually. I know Pond also worked on swimming for the role so he kinda gets a pass. I appreciate the effort!

3. PETE IN DARK BLUE KISS EP1 1/4

THIS HAS UPSET ME SINCE I FIRST WATCHED IT YEARS AGO…. WHY DID HE DIVE LIKE THAT. YOUR ARMS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE OVER YOUR HEAD??? what REALLY kills me is the fact that this is supposed to be his super cool introduction scene. You have all this build up and by the end all I can think abt is how he doesn’t know how to dive. Again, love u Pete but wtf was that. I’m aware Tay was worried about looking cool but he pulled that off just fine.. the fact that the diving wasn’t done properly just makes me burst out laughing every time. The angle they chose for the series does a little justice but the bts where we can see it from the side just settles how bad it is. I’m sorry.

In the same bts clip Tay literally says his belly turned red and that is because he did not dive but in fact bellyflopped 👍

+ after he dives he isn’t kicking above water/swimming horizontally either like Palm did. Help

I would like to give a special shoutout to the swimmers in until we meet again though bc they swam wonderfully!!

I’m seeing proper dives! I’m seeing splashes from kicking! I’m even seeing flip turns! Great work all around everyone! Of course, these characters are swimmers so naturally one would expect they should know what they’re doing, but it’s still nice to actually see it in action

Now this little list is just put together from what’s at the top of my head (I’m not watching bls for swimming technique after all) and it’s also not meant to be taken that seriously either lmao. I’ve just always found it unintentionally comedic whenever a supposed swimmer character can’t do something an irl swimmer would deffo have to know. Long live our swimmer bl boys!

Butterfly Reign: You know this one, it's the angst full and oddly yellow one. I always end up finding out it updated a day before it released how does that keep happening?. It's a good read, the characters get deeper the more you read it, and yet even with all their hidden lore and ok ish intentions I still want them to suffer because I'm a spiteful bitch. Unreliable narrator to you I believe him.

In the name of the fucking moon: Its a magical girls AU with the benchers and the family, more on the old school monster of the week type of magical girls but with continuity. If you imagine the scenes in your head while reading please add an 80's anime filter over it. Fun to read 👍 I got halfway through and I'm waiting for it to finish so I can binge it.

Guided evolution: Only read this if you have a lot of free time or the time management skills of a lawyer because this here is 300.000+ words and incredibly good. Every chapter I do nothing but worry for my spider son. Hasn't he been through enough I ask, while seeing I'm on chapter 52 out of 75. I know the answer, and it only serves to hurt me.

How to be the biggest trainer ever: Crimeboys go in a pokemon adventure. A very friendly fun read, like the pokemon anime but with your favourite white boys having fun 👍the world is set on gen 1 I think, so use that soundtrack

The stars and their children: Ive only read till chapter 5 and that's enough to know its good (also the fact that I follow the author here on tumblr so I get spoiled every once in a while hehe) This one is more sandduo focused and it has cool sci fi monarchy and it's also very near to end?? I didn't know that. Guess I'll get up to date then. Star tommy did nothing wrong I haven't seen him do much of anything but if he does in the other 19 chapters be aware he did nothing wrong

By the morrow: this one is weird and interesting in the most enticing way possible. What the fuck is going on. I must know all the reasons behind what is happening here. It can be quite macabre so be aware. I only found this one because the author posted the updates to tumblr. Oh yeah the synopsis, superhero au where the ctommy is a nobody who dies and fucks around the town in his ghost form but shit hits the fan incredibly quickly.

Who the ever loving fuck made me a prince: Its an Isekai yipee, our main boy (el ctommy) reads a book where a kid prince dies. L. Then he wakes up as that same kid!!! Oh no!!! Good news is he's reincarnated right in baby zone so he has plenty of time and skill to make sure won't die 👍, its fun, if you like isekais and don't mind some anime trope baby ism then you will live another day

Proof that life hates tommyinnit personally: This is a mystery!!! Spooky!! With touches of angst, perhaps more than some touches but hey the thrill!! The search!! I enjoy the use of the "it's not paranoia if they're really put to get you" tag. Its one of those fics that if it ever gets dropped I would go to the authors house to ask how was it supposed to end. I need. To know. Oh yeah summary: el ctommy is homeless and has many friends in a local mall who don't know that. This is only one (1) of his problems as he's recently gained a stalker, and everything points to being someone he knows ?? Question mark?? Fun.

TommyInnit's Declassified Vigilante Survival Guide: Ah a good old vigilante fic, just like mama used to make. it checks all the marks: benchtrio living together, villain sbi, when the family is founded, heroes yet bad?? and introducing a cool new power to the boy, what a joy! It is funny and it is cool

Our love it's like a burning sun: you've heard of racconinnit, birdinnit, ratinnit, cat shifter innit, possumi- hm I haven't heard that actually, anyways get ready for Red Panda innit, here's a red panda shifter who runs away from mean kingdom and goes to nice kingdom where he can find some family. And sometimes that's all you need to face the horrors

Thunder on my bones: ANOTHER superhero au listen man this one is good trust me. We have superhero boy being sidekick to mean superhero then gets moved to nice family of superheroes and the family is found :)) but also there's villains that want to fuck him up , uh oh! How will they found the family in this conditions! I also really like the design of the tommy superhero outfit, it has a really nice detail that I love imagining in my head ^^

This request definitely sounds interesting, Aevyn...🤔😃👍While having Shinsou staring in this fanfic and considering that I only have written about Bakugo once, which was a little over 3 years ago, I will definitely see about writing this type of fanfic then😁 While I like both Bakugo and Shinsou in particular, I'm like a particular type of Bakugo fan who finds it hilarious that Bakugo gets angry, for some reason (🤣), so I do find it intriguing to write that type of fanfic down...💡🤔😃👍

🍡☕You Shown Your True Colors Later Than Expected ☕🍡 ((Adult) Hitoshi Shinsou x They/Them Reader)

💥Featuring...(Adult) Bakugo Katsuki💥

Genres: Jealousy, Kissing, Revenge, Angst, and Comfort (Warning⚠️: Middle Finger, Cheating, well-being abuse, Language)

You and Hitoshi Shinsou had a crush on eachother, since UA. You were in Class 1-C with Shinsou, however months after the sports festival, due to your performance, you were moved into the Class 1-A, which Bakugo was in. While you had a crush on Bakugo did have a crush on you too, Shinsou does worry that Bakugo has plans on using you, because of the powers you have. Shinsou actually found it strange that aside from Eijiro Kirishima, he notices that Bakugo like you, however Shinsou also sees that once you were moved from Class 1-C to Class 1-A and after Bakugo has seen why you were moved to Class 1-A, Bakugo somehow ended up liking you.

Unfortunately after you, Shinsou, and Bakugo, graduated from UA, Bakugo asked you out, which you told him yes. Shinsou was crushed when Bakugo asked asked you out right in front of him. Bakugo could sense how crushed Shinsou was, so he decided to kiss you right in front of him, just to make his life worse, as Bakugo covers your ears as he said directly at Shinsou, "Ha! What is it like for you, as someone else kisses your crush, you purple, fur ball, extra!", then proceeds to flip Shinsou off when you weren't looking.

Five years later Bakugo became the number one pro hero, while you were the number two pro hero, then there's Shinsou as the number five pro hero. What you and Shinsou have in common neither you nor Shinsou care about rankings. Bakugo is a different story. He cares strictly about surpassing all the other pro heroes, villains, and UA students who plan to be pro heroes one day, money, fame, and glory.

After Bakugo became the number one pro hero, he basically has been letting his explosion, his riches, his title as the number one hero, his fame, and his glory, get in his head, so much where he has been ignoring you and pushing you away. He basically made you last for everything. He even puts his new pro hero friends first before you, even if your own life was to depend on it. Eijiro Kirishima, Denki Kaminari, Hanta Sero, and Mina Ashido, unfortunately saw what Bakugo was doing and they're pretty much disappointed in Bakugo and told you that as much as they were friends with Bakugo, they pretty said you deserved better.

The funny thing is even tough Bakugo puts you last, he always expected you to put him first, because if he's not number one, he always guilt trips you. He also tells you you can't have friends nor be friends with anyone who has ever been his friend, including Kirishima and that he also doesn't want you near Shinsou. Yes, he manipulates you in order to convince you to have no form of contact with Shinsou. Not even to look at him by accident. This is how terrible your relationship with Bakugo was, by the way.

One day, while you were out in public with Bakugo, you saw this Japanese cafe you wanted to check out, as you mentioned, "Hey Bakugo... May I go this Japanese cafe? I really would like to check it out. Please?". Bakugo lightly smiled at you and was going to let you go there, then when he looked up at the cafe he saw, non other, than Shinsou, here at that very same Japanese cafe. He then looked at you as he said, "Sorry... Not today... Maybe some other time!". You then replied, "But Bakugo! Why not today? Why some other time? This is the first time I got to go anywheres, at all! I don't know when the next time I will be able to go anywheres! You haven't been letting me do anything, since you became the number one pro hero! I need to do atleast something I want to treat myself! I don't know when will the next time I will be able to go anywheres! I'm heading over to try over to that Japanese cafe to try out right now!". As you started to walk over the cafe, Bakugo grabbed your left arm, as he yelled, "I said no, (They/Them Reader Name)! Don't act like a spoiled, high and mighty, princess, just because your my significant other!". As the the argument went on, Shinsou noticed what was going on between you and Bakugo, as he then started to walk over to both you and Bakugo.

As Bakugo was too busy arguing with you, to even know about Shinsou walking over to you and Bakugo, as Shinsou then asked, "What's all the commotion?", as he's curious to know what your argument with Bakugo is all about. "Shut up! Mind your own business, extra! Go somewheres el...", before looking over to realize it was Shinsou who asked. He then continued, "What do you want from me?! If you want to know, (They/Them Reader Name) was only acting like a spoiled brat, just because I told them no!", as he exaggerated. You looked at Bakugo with tears in your eyes, then you turned to look at Shinsou, as you worry that he will believe Bakugo's exaggeration. Shinsou however knew he was exaggerating about why you reacted the way you did to Bakugo, as he asked, "Is this true, (They/Them Reader Name)?", because of the fact he wanted to hear your side of the argument.

You were shocked that Shinsou asked you for your side of the story. You then answered truthfully, "Well, part of it... Bakugo exaggerated about why I reacted to him the way I did. The only time I got to go anywheres was when Bakugo letted me go in public with him or to go on my pro hero missions... Especially since he became the number one pro hero. I wasn't allowed to have friends... I wasn't allowed to be friends with any of his friends from UA nor his new friends... He expected me to cater to him every time he wants me to... He always put me last, then he gets mad if I don't make him my priority... He told me never to make any contact with you, not even if I was to accidentally notice you... Then when I asked him to take me to this Japanese cafe I wanted to try out, he looked like he was going to say yes, then he out of the blue told me sorry not today, then said maybe some other time... I didn't know why and I was confused and told him my frustrations about it, then told him I'm going there, then he grabbed me, which was why the argument started. I'm sorry, that I caused all the commotion. If I would have kept quiet or even stayed home, I wouldn't have been a burden on anyone...", you then looked down on the floor, as you began to sob. Shinsou felt bad, so bad for you, to the point where he knew it's time to get revenge on Bakugo, for what he did with you five years ago (Bakugo did it on purpose and you didn't do anything on purpose) after you, Shinsou, and Bakugo graduated from UA.

Shinsou then decided to walk closer to you, as he began to hug and pet you. Bakugo then got really angry, as he said, "Get away from my significant other, you prick! Who do you fucken think you are, stealing my prize away from me! They're mine, not yours!". Shinsou then replied, "Your prize?! Your significant other?! Yours, not mine?! I knew you would treat (They/Them Reader Name) unfairly, however I didn't think you would wait long than you did to show your true colors and you turned out even worser than I thought. I really was wondering when you would treat them like shit, honestly... So, time for payback you narcissistic jerk!".

The next thing Shinsou did was kiss you right in front on Bakugo, as the start of your revenge (which made Bakugo more angry), then Shinsou used his brainwashing on you as he then said, "(They/Them Reader Name)... Tell Bakugo how you truly feel and be honest with yourself... Do you want to stay in the relationship with Bakugo or did you have enough of this hell of that relationship? Do you want to start a new relationship with me?". Bakugo then screamed, "Are you trying to manipulate, (They/Them Reader Name) to do your bidding?! How dare you, you damn, womanizer?!", as he got more and more angry. Shinsou then replied again, "Actually all I did was use my brainwashing to help them be more honest with themself and the both of us!".

You then came clean about how you felt about your relationship with Bakugo and how you felt about Shinsou. You basically told Bakugo about the fact he treated you very unfairly and that you should have dated Shinsou instead and everything else about how you have been feeling. Bakugo has been in, so much disbelief about everything you said, which the more you said how you felt, the angrier he got.

As you and Shinsou walked to that Japanese cafe Bakugo refused to let you go to, Bakugo then yelled on top of his lungs loudest, as he could, as he screamed, "How dare you leave me?! You dare leave me for that fucken, purple, fur ball, extra! You're also nothing without me!". Both you and Shinsou ignored everything that Bakugo said, as the you and Shinsou are finally at that Japanese cafe, you also got to finally try out.

After the incident, Bakugo definitely lost the number one pro hero title, due to his outbursts, while you became the number one pro hero and Shinsou became the number three pro hero. You became, so much happier being with Shinsou, than you ever did when you were with Bakugo. Both you and Shinsou, also have been together, eversince then.

so the easiest one to start with is tom. he's being silly, he's a silly guy- hey guys dare me to fall down backwards, haha! and even if they tell him not to, and that it's a dumb idea, tom's gonna do it anyways. not just because he thinks it's funny, although that's definitely a factor, but because he's terrified. tom is scared out of his mind, right now. he's full of powers he didn't expect, dealing with the fact his god is dead, and is being told that they have to jump in the void- something which, up until now, has been deadly and unexplored, untouchable, and avoided at all costs. so of course he's gonna turn around and look Up, behind them, in order to avoid whatever endlessness is down there. whatever it is he can't see. and he'll probably close his eyes on the way down, to not see how far away they're getting.

tucker next! out of all four of them, he's doing kind of just a normal fall- front facing trust fall, really. he's accepted this, and whatever comes with it. he's putting all his faith- and he's got a good amount of that- into mianite and ianite that they will get home safe, or into the gods they whatever waits them will catch them. tucker has little qualms about this, which is so off center from how he usually is. tucker is full of argument and doubt and frustration in so much of the series. he accepts this, though. maybe he needs rest. maybe he thinks this is finally going to be it. i don't blame him for falling forward into it, then. there's hope in that.

sonja and jordan, notably, both jump into it, literally leaping instead of falling. it's another point of separation between them, and tom and tucker, which is a different topic of discussion entirely. they're even mirroring each other in the way they stand before the jump. when it comes to faith (which is relevant, it's a leap of faith) they're on opposite sides of the same line of thinking, in a way.

there's sonja, who has lost faith, maybe never even really had it, and turned to another source. there was no faith at all between her and mianite- she did not trust him, and notably, he had nothing to do with her. there was nothing lost in her secretly betraying him because there was never anything there to begin with. but then she hits a rough spot with the shadows too- they end up having nothing to do with her either. both her and jordan step back before they jump, reeling up, getting more distance- her step back is shorter, less hesitant. when she jumps, she's looking forward to this as a sort of reset. her arms are outreached, stretching forward, she's hopeful, waiting. she'll land back at home and she'll have a clean slate, and she can gain faith that way, then. maybe not in the gods, but more in herself.

when jordan steps back, to make this leap, it's wider, further, guarded, hesitant. jordan, unlike sonja, has faith. he has so much faith he almost doesn't know what to do with it, and right he, he probably genuinely doesn't. he's saved his goddess, the one that almost everyone had for so long denied him. he's been brought to this temple that he didn't even know was something that could have been found. jordan runs on faith, and had nothing but faith this whole time, and now his mission is done. and now the one he has put all his faith in is telling him to leave, to go home, and not to worry. and now, he doubts. because is faith enough to keep her strong, shouldn't he stay here, isn't there more to do? and is there maybe something she's not telling them, because he glances over the edge into that void over and over again, and he cannot see how it leads home. so he's scared, too. but he wants to trust ianite in this. he has faith. and maybe, he thinks, this leap will strength it. when he jumps, he's almost flailing, like he's still unsure, like he's thinking maybe this was a bad idea. but it's all for faith, to strength faith. so it'll work out. it has to.

- you managed to call Law since he usually saved your ass when stuff like this happened

- you were practically sounding like you were going to cry over the phone

- So Law immediately ran towards your home, banging down the door and running up the stairs as fast as he could

- He was having a mini heart attack- what if something was really wrong?!

- when he found you, he had the most dead-pan “you’re a dumbass” expression on his face

- mf just started to walk away at that point he’s done- 💀

- “WAIT LAW- PLEASE THIS REALLY HURTS-!”

- he struggled to pull you out since you were literally wedged in the crevice 🗿

- He had to lean all the way back, using his body weight before you finally slipped out

- You managed to fall straight on top of him, and law tried to hide his blushing cheeks 😭

- You always had some kind of new scrape or bruise from being clumsy, so Law tried to fix every single thing on you

- he also lectures you 24/7 while knowing you don’t listen to shit he says 💀

- Man wants you to be safe, and worries about you a lot lmao

- also this is just a really dumb moment you had with your bestie Luffy

- you both decided it’d be so fun to try and swim in the ocean during the weekend

- (you both have devil fruit abilities)

- yeah. Guess how that went?

- Mhm. You drowned.

- FORTUNATELY- everyone else decided to tag along, and Law almost immediately saw you both drowning

- emo man can’t swim 🗿 so what’s he gonna do

- yea. PANIC (and shove people in to save you)

- Bitch literally shoved Zoro into the water to save you

- He also shoved in the simp love cook

- When Sanji came back with you in his arms, Law immediately performed a checkup on you, making sure you were breathing and everything

- (Zoro just stepped on Luffy, pushing the water out of his balloon stomach 💀)

Scenario - “You’re going to be the death of me….” 💀

(This is a modern scenario :)

Law was silently reading a book, laying on the couch, happily enjoying the peace and quiet in his room. The book was interesting to him, it was one of his favorite comic books after all. Everything was great, it was peaceful, calm, and quiet. Until he heard tires screech outside. He almost threw his book in the air from being spooked like that. He opened the blinds of his room, and he saw you standing outside and waving your arms at his window. You were standing next to a quite- beat up car.. He sighed heavily, looks like his quiet moment was over before it even began.. He reluctantly opened the door, walking outside to meet your smiling face. “Y/n-ya, what are you doing with a car..?” He asked with a tired and confused expression. “I thought we could take it for a drive! Luffy said I’m a good driver.” You said pridefully, smiling up at him brightly. He knew he’d regret his decision.. But how could he say know to that sunshine of a smile you had? “Fine.” He replied quietly, getting into the passenger seat. You looked so happy and excited to show Law your “decent” driving skills.

Hopping into the drivers seat, you made Law had his seatbelt on first! That’s the first thing you learned- “safety first” right? Law sighed, buckling your seatbelt for you, “You have to put on a seatbelt..” He grumbled with an irritated tone. “Whoops.” You replied with a giggle, getting your hands on the wheel with determination and excitement in your eyes. It was almost as if you were sparkling with anticipation. Law found it cute, seeing how excited and determined you were to show him your driving skills.. But he was also holding onto his seatbelt for his life, making sure he wouldn’t fall out of the seat if anything were to happen. “Ok! Ready…? Set. GO!” You said, pressing on the gas pedal with most of your weight. The car wouldn’t move, and you looked so disappointed. Law almost started laughing, “Why won’t it go?!” You shouted, looking around, and tapping different buttons on the car. Law saw your keys sitting on the dashboard, and he sighed with a laugh at how panicked you looked. He grabbed them and started the car engine with the keys, “OHHHHHHH-!” You said with amazed eyes. “Thanks Law!” You shouted happily, now pushing your weight on the gas pedal.

But wait… Why was everything outside of the car moving in front of you? Wait a damn minute. “Y/N-YA YOU’RE ON REVERSE-!” Law yelled, looking behind at the nearing wall that you were about to crash into. “WHAT?!” You screamed, immediately shifting the car out of reverse. You slammed your foot on the brakes, and Law’s head whipped forward with the sudden movement. It made him dizzy, and he almost saw his life flash before his eyes. “Ok… Phew that was kind close haha!” You laughed, wiping the sweat off your forehead with relief. “Y/n. We could’ve fucking died.” He said, grabbing you by your shoulders with wide eyes. “Sorry-!” You replied, stepping on the gas pedal, making Law fly back into his seat. Law’s eyes were wide with worry and anxiety, his body was shaking with stress. “WHOOO HOOOOO!” You screamed excitedly, taking your hands off the wheel and waving them in the air. “HANDS ON THE WHEEL-!” He yelled, slamming your hands back on the steering wheel. You swerved around approaching cars, almost barely escaping a car crash everytime you passed someone. Law reached up, trying to find the hand rest on the side of the door. But it wasn’t there, he fumbled around, trying to frantically grab onto something. “Y/n-ya where’s the hand rest?!” He shouted, clearly panicking. “It broke off last time I crashed!” You replied rather light heartedly. “Last time you wh-?!” He started to shout before you sharply turned to the right, making Law fly around in his seat. The seatbelt almost did nothing for him- but at least there was something keeping him alive. You laughed happily, continuing to speed rather quickly down the roads. “Law isn’t this fun?!” You shouted, looking towards him. Law looked absolutely petrified, he looked like a cat who was desperately clinging onto the door handle for his life.

When he looked forward again, he saw the familiar faces of his friends. Luffy and Zoro were walking across the street, talking and obviously not paying attention. “Y/N STOP STOP STOP-!” He yelled, grabbing your arm tightly. You looked forward and screamed, slamming your hand on the horn. Zoro yelped, looking at the approaching car as he jumped out of the way as fast as he could. Luffy was confused, “Huh?? What are you doing Zoro?!” Luffy shouted, staring at him with a dazed expression. “LUFFY MOVE YOUR ASS!” He yelled, running towards him to try and move him out of the way. You instantly slammed your foot on the brakes, the car skidding as it slowed down. You were going so fast that it was hard for the tires to grab the ground. Law closed his eyes, it was embarrassing how petrified he looked. You cling onto him, wrapping your arms around him tightly while screaming and trying to shove more weight onto the brake pedal. You both closed your eyes, hugging each other and just praying that Luffy would either move, or the car would stop in time. Once you both felt the car stop, you slowly opened your eyes, and to your surprise, Luffy was still standing there. “Huh? OH Y/N HI!” He shouted, jumping up and down while waving his arms excitedly. Law was shaking, his fists clenched so tightly his fingers were turning purple. “You… Are going to be the death of me, y/n.” He said slowly, looking at you with a tired and petrified expression. “Hehe- don’t worry! I won’t let you die!” You replied with a smile. “I MEAN YOU’RE THE ONE WHO’S GOING TO KILL ME IDIOT!”

Has a childhood stuffed animal (probably a teddy bear) that he still has out of nostalgia and that he's too connected to it to let go of it

Had a pet fish when he was younger. when it died he cried and buried it in the backyard. You can still kinda see the watered down cardboard headstone behind the trailer

This man is gay and realized that probably around middle school

Literally cried when he found out bc he knew what would happen if anyone (especially his dad) found out

Uncle Wayne's the only one in Eddies family that's supportive

I personally hc that's why Eddie lives with Wayne bc his parents found out and kicked him out :(

When he's not playing dnd or hanging out with the rest of the group he kinda just tends to stay in his room and practice guitar. That or goes into the woods

Basically took the kid under his wing like he did with Lucas, Dustin, & mike (A/n: side note people need to bring up more about Lucas when talking about Eddie being mentor for Dustin & Mike cus he's also a part of hellfire club so goddamn I'm doing it)

He also encouraged will to wear his "will the wise" costume to at least one of the campaigns

Speaking of hellfire club-

There's this hc I saw on TikTok that I absolutely love that Eddie lost a bet to Lucas and had to wear a princess costume to a campaign

Makes me laugh every time I think about it

I just imagine Eddie with a deadpanned face as the rest of hellfire tried not to laugh Thier asses off

Also Erica decided that she actually liked going to the hellfire campaign and decided to go more often

Tho she won't officially call herself a member cus "hellfire clubs for a bunch of losers" lol

(this for the Eddie lives!au where Eddie just goes with Dustin instead of going and trying to fight the bats off. I'm still mad about that 😒) How Eddie met will was after the "earthquake" when the rest of the group are at Wheelers house and the California crusaders (argyles group lol) are back in Hawkins and there all hugging each other and just happy everyone's okay 👍

Oh no...I've been thinking up bonding situations/ activities Gai and Kakashi did leading up to the Madara incident.

At the start of day one, Kakashi injures Gai a lot(gotta train him like the world's at stake because...it is. Don'tworry the healing amulet will take care of it) and Gai at some point SLIGHTLY damages Kakashi and is like "want me to kiss it better?" He gets a loooong stare in response and is like "ah no worries than. You probably couldn't afford it. 😁👍"

Kakashi knows its going to be a loooong week. And doubles the training.

It takes three days of non-stop fighting/training and badgering from Kakashi before Gai's composure finally breaks and let Kakashi see his vulnerability, as well as his resolve. Then passes out. Kakashi finally realizes he is dealing with the actual Gai his old bff, and resolves to treat him that way.

Day 4, lot's more training but they also now know Gai's limits even with the amulet and extra god items help. Kakashi is doing a better job explaining how lightning works and how to wield it as a weapon and in the tri-staff form. Gai let's Kakashi know that his storms were an inspiration to him. They get a little closer as they kick each other's ass.

Day 5.) They take a break to cook something. Obito drops by. Bit of a downer but he learns about those two being brothers! So cool~ talks about his own family for a bit. Its....probably not that great. Especially in comparison to his last lifetime. He gets to see Obito put the stars up and sees Kakashi messing with it.... asks if Kakashi can draw something funny up there for him. ("Put a penis up there~" (Obito is not pleased.))

Day 6.) Day of resting. They trained all they could and any more would probably just tire Gai out for the battle tomorrow. Gai gets to cut his hair and shave how he likes, take a bath, talk to Kakashi, do some light flirting mostly for fun... and also reveals one of the ways he fought is based off a dance he himself made. Ends up showing Kakashi and gives him a bit of a show (clothes stay on!) and Kakashi is struck because.... the steps of that dance are the same ones Gai use to dance for him in the past life. Just a bit more sensual.

Day seven. Time to fight a god... asks Kakashi for a good luck kiss maybe and points at his cheek. To which Kakashi responds "you couldn't afford it, honey."

It makes Gai laugh and smile before his major confrontation. And its time to go. And Kakashi... wants to believe in him to now. No matter how things turn out, he will stay by his side and cheer him on.

He doesn't want to see his friend die again.

I really love the idea of them bonding over training, and the little joke about a kiss costing too much 😭😭😭

Kakashi should have taken the kiss. It was litterally his only chance before disaster struck. On the plus side though, they’ll have a lot of time to get to know each other better after.

Also Kakashi hates that he has to be so hard on Gai in training, but it’s a lot to learn. Dude almost took off to another village with the winged shoes Naruto gave him, which could have ended so badly if Kakashi hadn’t caught up to him and pulled him back before he came into contact with any of the villagers.

I love the idea of Gai’s village being sort of mythical. After all those who visit it don’t survive, so how do people know it’s real when they have only met a select few people who claim to have come from there?

All these other villages hear of a great fight between a mortal and a god and just shake their head. They don’t belive there’s a mortal out there stupid enough to fight a god, abd if there is they certainly didn’t win.

It’s bot until generations later when a cure is found and people can begin venturing outside of the village that their stories spread and their history is properly shared, and so many other villages finally learn about the great Mortal Gai who fought a god of creation just to protect his village

*claps* Just finished the newest HB dropped today, lets talk about it! :>

TL;DR version: Found it a... "decent" ride overall (prob among the "better" eps of the S2 lineup so far), though nothing really to write home about compared to other fave eps-

Longer Version: *warning ahead for spoilers*

So, positives out of the way first!

-Striker's back again... and YAY, didn't end up dying after all 🙏😭Was kinda scared with him going against Stolas they were gonna start watering him down to a "mwaha I'm macho~" cliche, but imo he remained pretty competent from start to finish (and even still carried that whole "f*ck the monarchy" attitude towards Goetias while interacting with Stolas (whilst simultaneously working under Stella)... which I really hope the show builds on more for any future appearances down the line)

-M&M themselves got to lead the show in chasing Striker/fighting him (no Blitz or Loona intervention whatsoever), which was also pretty refreshing! 👍 I enjoyed their antics in the Wrath ring and the eventual fight scene itself proved a fairly entertaining one too (*that music change midway though lol*)

-Ngl, I was kinda worried that with Stolas' "damsel" bit it was gonna get old quick... but I'm pleasantly surprised to see the guy actually bite back fairly strong in his own way (both with words and a bit with physical strength too like the stone-stare attempt). And with the inclusion of that "heavenly" rope voiding his powers, it helped offset him feeling too "woobified" compared to past eps .3.

-Blitz and Loona stuck together throughout their visit to the hospital, which proved sweet & funny to watch too ^^. Always nice to see some vulnerable sides in this girl aside from just being moody all the time imo.

-We finally get Andrealphus' canon debut, and he proved to be a fairly decent villain himself too. Being smart enough to recognize the risk in killing off Stolas too quickly (esp. while Via's still his only other heir), and seems to be generally manipulative in steering his sister in the "right" direction (while talking down to her at the same time like a ditzy child), which I'm curious to see played out as well as the season progresses further.

-Bit more of a "minor" point, admittedly... but yay! A Via mention~ 🥺Looks like she'll eventually be more involved in Andre & Stella's plot in the far future, so that'll be interesting to see~ :o

Now... for the negatives? ...Weeeell-

-Stella... just, *sighs*. What more can I say about her that others haven't done so before? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️While I never really minded her being a bitchy villain tbh, I was expecting at least a little competency written in to her role trying to tear Stolas (+Blitz) apart... but, now? She's... literally just so one-tracked & immature onto wanting Stolas dead (not even reacting to Andre mentioning her daughter during their "plan"), that even her own brother is calling her out of how stupid she's being...? 😐Just... yikes, man...

And like, even all this I wouldn't so much mind if HB was a strictly comedic cartoon/Stella herself was just a one-off threat (like Martha & those old guys from the "Cherub" ep)... but with Stella clearly being framed as the new "big bad" of the series after first calling that hit on Stolas back in "Harvest Moon" (framed all dramatic-like both there and later on in "The Circus")... its otherwise embarrassing that Stella's about as complex as a slice of white bread... 😒😒

(*Heck, if you think about it I don't get why we couldn't have Andrealphus be Stolas' evil ex since he's clearly gonna be given more substance than his sister by the looks of it (esp if those potentially dangerous ice powers of his are any indicator)... but, idk I'm just rambling at this point lol >>*)

-I feel like some of the emotional beats didn't... quite hit as they should've, at points? Like, that last shot of Stolas browsing through his phone messages w/ Blitz seemed like it was trying to address what happened in "Ozzie's" (with Stolas even seeming to respect Blitz' boundaries better while their "deal" is still ongoing)... but then with the sad music playing and Stolas just turning away all sadly at the end, I wasn't sure whether to take that as hopeful or... just angsty, I guess? .-.

-In terms of the humor this time, while def a step-up from the last couple eps... I feel like some of the jokes didn't land as strongly compared to others? Like, for every decent bits like Striker (then later Millie lol) telling off the annoying music band, others like the... erm, "endowed" Striker statue & the karen fight Blitz had at the hospital just felt a bit too... "on-the-nose", I guess? 🤷‍♀️

-While I don't really mind this being a shorter episode, pacing-wise I feel like got a bit rushed at certain points (Like, I'm surprised Andre just kinda randomly showed up right at the first few seconds with how "hyped up" his initial concept was lol). Which could easily be fixed by just tweaking down some of the unnecessary filler bits imo.

i wish it appeared more often bc its a cute shoutout to ene later on and also WOOO THIS BITCH HAS SENSORY ISSUES!!! i made a comic abt it once but haruka designing actor with the bigass sleeves because he observed that takane pulls down her sleeves. *bite bite bite bite bite* also this panel has always been a fave of mine bc of autism creature takane and also bc the desk is like. at haruka's chest and he looks like he's sitting on the ground

i also think its very funny to imagine takane kicking ass in games while holding the controller with her sleeves over it and everyone's like ?????girl what. ofc she probably has specific textures she hates and all that, takane doesnt feel weird about touching as a whole.

in several instances of yuukei yesterday haruka and takane casually touch each other and while thats obviously cuz they're close friends, a lot of close friends dont act that way or arent comfortable with touch yknow!! in fact takanes the one to start most physical interactions with him. i could be crazy enough to go and check but im gonna trust my memory. and bc i love art where ene is jumping on shintaro and stuff i like to think takane is Actually touchy with ppl she trusts. also she doesnt register personal space sometimes, and ends up standing too close without noticing until someone points it out. i guess this is a bit contrary to a typical takane interpretation (UR STANDING TOO CLOSE DUMBASS🙄🙄🙄🙄 tsundere moment) but i think it's a fun spin to it. i think kenjirou is the one to most point it out like Girl step BACK ur all in my zone and she's like UGH WHATEVER and haruka also notices but never rly says anything. he probably loves it lol haruka's so overdue physical connection he loves that takane doesn't mind touching him or being close to him. also since they have a big height difference its not like she's all up on his face. i think takane starts letting go more once her ene secret's out and stops caring so much but it sorta comes back when ayano and shintaro join the group. i think shintaro especially would point out UGH WHY ARE YOU STANDING SO CLOSE TO ME or even question why she's so close to haruka or ayano. haruka and ayano are all like NOOO DONT WORRY I DONT MIND but takanes already mortified and is more self aware

another one. takane with her big old headphones. yeah yeah uses them disconnected to get haruka's attention Whatever she also uses them bc she prefers hearing stuff muffled instead of hearing it directly 👍 when she gets overwhelmed she puts those things on with the music to the max and just logs out for a min

OH also this is a canon one😼😼😼 her leg bouncy thing. shintaro points it out in the seventh novel that takane is bouncing her leg and says it's a nervous habit he never noticed on her but TO ME. SHE DOES THAT❤️ takane has huge leg bouncer energy i bet she makes the whole table shake and everyone asks her to quit it and she says Damn ok sorry and stops it for a total of 50 seconds before starting again

anyways in summary hs takane is like. tends not to notice personal space, hates touching stuff with her hands, likes having control over what or how she hears, and has a tough time staying still. POST STR... its all to the max. takane is overly aware of everything. all 5 senses are as much of a nightmare as they are a relief and it's all mixed together!!!!

ok her sensory needs that she already had pre ene are still there but completely amped up, except the personal space one. now everyone is always too close and literally just opening her eyes (HEH!! OPENING EYES!!!!) is super overwhelming bc WHOA EVERYTHING IS SO CLOSE AND HUGE AND HD. i could imagine comparing it to like, wearing contacts for the first time for any fellow glasses wearing people. like u know this, youve seen all this. but suddenly youre watching it differently without a frame around ur eyes and it just feels weird. for takane the frame was a screen instead of the glasses yknow. and to her its A LOT

i think post str takane keeps using her powers and having meltdowns because on top of all the existentialism she has to deal with being alive and everything, suddenly She Cannot Control Anything And It Is A Nightmare. she can't handle the lack of control she has over her needs and body temperature. just feeling hungry or sweating after walking for a little in summer makes her upset. bc she gets her body back during summer so GOOD LUCK WITH THAT GIRL. the clothes she wears feel all insane and irritated and nauseous!!! awful!!! even showers feel strange bc AUGGHHH so much is touching her at once!!! she also hates eating soooo yeah also a thing. i think she's always been a picky eater but post str its like she will only eat like 2 things or something

ON THE OTHER HAND.... it suddenly goes on the opposite end. like for a few days she's nightmare overstim city and then she's SUPER understim and COMPLETELYYYYY over eager about having a body and horribly indulges in like. overeating and running around <- overeating (especially when u usually avoid eating), awful for ur tummy. running a lot when u have chronic pains, also awful for ur pains later. sooo nothing she wont pay the price for later. it needs to get pointed out to her she needs to find a balance and cant have all or nothing (by haruka probably)

the personal space thing comes back here like she gets So touchy and needs hug or death. i think she can be all happy hugging haruka and all of a sudden pushes him away and is like WHOA I NEED TO GET OUT OF MY BODY RIGHT NOW MAYBE RIP MY SKIN OFF TOO MAYBE so it's rly like a light switch all of a sudden she can get overwhelmed with it and revert. like jumping back and forth between seeking and avoiding sensation.

anyways ermmm takane's biggest challenge is Stop resorting to opening eyes whenever it gets too bad. like i also got sensory issues and assuming whoever is reading also does imagine having the option to just Jump out of ur body when its feeling Awful. ofc ur gonna take it when ur feeling like that. but it doesn't help takane to do it. while it helps her to calm down, it's not good in the long run. she actively wants a PHYSICAL life and work on all this. takane never wanted to die and is super motivated to get better but it's not quick or easy!!! eventually she finds a good balance i think. she's still a rly touchy person who hates grabbing her phone directly without the sleeves in the middle and will only eat like 3 things❤️ but also a hug lover❤️

The both of you (mostly him actually) would look out for each other when you're on missions and protect/help each other out when the other is in trouble

You & him would occasionally hang out at a café you always would go to and hang out while talking each other about things you have interest in, things you like, and other stuff when you guys don't have any work to do!

Some people have actually mistaken you two as a couple one or a few times, and it still flusters Atsushi whenever this happens while you were used to it/unfazed-

It's so funny to see Atsushi so flustered like that- lmao-

If you're the teasing type (like Dazai-), then you might've teased him about this just to see his cheeks grow red as a cherry-

Of course, the both of don't have any romantic feelings for each other, you view each other as siblings/family!

If you're taller than him, you probably have carried him a few times before, either on purpose or smth along the lines of that (like you have to carry him cause' he was injured on a mission, the way you carry him is your choice)

You'd pat his head and he might do the same to you

He treasures anything you give him, even if it's a singular plucked flower that's slowly wilting away 'til death, a shiny rock you found, or a keychain that resembles him in some way (example: a tiger keychain, a moon keychain), he'll cherish it forever no matter what it is <3

Atsushi would try to help you in situations if you're seeming to be looking uncomfortable when that person starts hitting on/flirting with you, and he would either try to take care of the situation (by confronting that person and tell them to stop making you uncomfortable) or escort you outta the area/place you're at and if any of the other members of the agency are there, he'll let them know about it and take care of the job

You would help him out by using your ability when going on missions that involve a little violence here and there, protecting him from any harm that's coming your way

You find his tiger form, named Byakko, adorable. You probably give him headpats when you can :]]

He thinks you're kinda intimidating at times, specially during when going against the enemies, since you would have this such sweet and kind expression on your face but the words you were saying to the enemies don't even match the smile you have on-

Since he's such a worry wart most of the time whenever someone gets injured, especially if that person is you, you would try to reassure him everything's going to be fine even if it may not look like it

That one friend who probably makes terrible jokes and being awkward about it and there's always someone who would always laugh at their jokes

Random scent hc : Atsushi smells like vanilla and probably also cinnamon & strawberries joined into the mix

I have no idea why, but he seems like he'll smell like that-

Prone to having nightmares at times, so when he comes to you, may be having tears prickling his eyes, please do comfort him <3

If you were to shower him with platonic affection and compliments, he would get so embarrassed & flustered and start stammering nonsense that you don't even understand the hell's he's saying but you vibe with it- 🤷

Since you spend most of your time spending with him, you might as well spend time with Kyōka too since she hangs out with him mostly

Let's you drag him anywhere you want unless you need to keep track on the mission you're on/get lost along the way

If you're really close with him, he might tell you about his past, like the orphanage he resided in for a while before being kicked out onto the streets with nowhere to go for example and you would comfort him

But all and all, he's a very good & sweet boy to have as a friend though he's a worry wart at times but he means well. 9/10 :]

Ranpo Edogawa.

Kinda chaotic ngl-

This guy likes to be praised alot and it makes you think he probably has a praise kink-

(But of course, we won't get any deeper into that since we're keeping this all sfw and I don't do nsfw at all-)

Back to the main topic; please praise him-

If you do, his ego will go going through the roof-

Besides the president's praises, he mostly craves these compliments from you the most. You always complimented and praised him on his intelligence, skills, his looks, and pretty much everything that he does/have (as it pretty much should be-)

But he really appreciates how you aren't doing it in a way to suck it up to him. You just genuinely mean everything you say positively about him

It's not a secret that he doesn't have an ability like his colleagues but he didn't want any pity from anyone. He doesn't need it, he's one of the most essential members of the armed detective agency. He doesn't doubt himself in the slightest, but though it does something to him knowing that someone has their whole entire faith in him so easily

Even if he doesn't have a flashy, cool, and striking ability like the others, you still encouraged him every time at anywhere you are at

Besides Dazai (and I think also Fukuzawa), you're the very few people who he'll pay attention to for more than five seconds

He's surprisingly soft towards you

If you were to make homemade sweets of any kind (cakes, cupcakes, brownies, lolipops, gummy bears, chocolates, etc.) and give them to him as a gift, he might lose himself-

You're like a parent friend to him cause' you would lightly scold and force him to eat regular, healthy food because eating just sweets and cake is bad for the health of one and a regular human must eat healthy food instead of just eating sweets

Because eating just sWEETS IS NOT HEALTHY FOR YOU AT ALL-

This guy definitely smells entirely like sweets, like,, a strong aroma of sweetness emitts from him which can tell you that it's Ranpo even without looking at him or hearing him at all-

He probably shares some sweets with you, and only you if you're that really close with him

Steals whatever sweets you have but you mostly offer some to him or just give the whole thing (unless if it's a lolipop-)

Has asked you to carry him on your back once cause' his feet were hurting from walking

Even if you may be a very sweet and caring person (beside Atsushi), you tend to call him a 'childish idiot' sometimes and he's pretty dramatic about it

He gets lost so damn easily, and you would become his guide 'dog' whenever you find him and guide him wherever he needs to go, please do not look away from him for one second cause' if you do, the greatest detective might as well just disappear from existence and never be found again by mankind 🤷

Not really though-

He may be childish and annoying at times but you love him /p

He manages to convince (force) you to slack off from work and hang out with him where his desk is, you two talk and talk about whatever (mostly him bragging about the cases he's done before-) and maybe eat some snacks while you're at it

When Fukuzawa walked in on one occasion, he did not even bat an eyes or even talk to you about how you were skipping on doing work in front of his damn eyes-

He only smiled, said a greeting to you both, and went back into his office

"Hey Edogawa-san?"

"Just call me Ranpo."

"Ah, Right. Ranpo, why didn't the president reprimand me for not doing work instead just slacking off?"

"Well, I exempted you from work today by doing all of your work because I was bored."

"Ah, I see. okay- pardon?"

Sometimes, you have to deal with him and his love for candy- meaning that you have to try and prevent him from getting distracted and not going on the mission which you were supposed to do

"Ranpo, please-"

"But [name]!! That shop has that new candy I wanna try!! I've been wanting to try it ever since!"

"oh my gosh- RANPO WE NEED TO COMPLETE THIS FUCKING MISSION FIRST, I PROMISE THAT I'LL BUY YOU THAT CANDY YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY LATER AFTER WE FINISH THIS PLEASE-"

He likes to go to the movies with you, specially murder mysteries type of movies, and then figures out the killer within the first 8 minutes of the movie-

Probably tells you spoilers of some movies you wanted to watch and you would stuff his mouth with a cupcake (or just a sweet of any kind) or just simply slap your hand over his mouth before he could get the words out

Sometimes shares some of his snacks from his sacred snack pile. Everybody in the office was stunned to witness this cause' Ranpo has and will never share his snacks with anyone ever

You might know who Edgar Allan Poe is cause' Ranpo might've mentioned to you about him a few times but you've never met the disastrous ball of anxiety in all your life- (yet-)

He's a great friend but pretty much childish as a first grader. An 8.5/10
