New from RECAP Weekly!!! An Exclusive Interview from Hermitopia's Emperor?!?

for the third week of @shepscapades ’s hermitcraft character design event, i offer grian as an empires smp member!

ok so first off, that head. thats just p03 from inscryption. but grian. it fits! but also! go play inscryption go go its on sale Right Now (until june 30) go play it its so good then go watch this video afterwards join my fandom please please please join us

ok back to hermpires! so i originally was gonna take an empire from s2 and just insert grian into it, but while browsing through the esmp s2 wiki i came across/remembered hermitopia and my brain went yep! this one. so i thought a bit about what grian would do if he was an empires smp member and how hermitopia would happen, and i think grian would crash the economy on purpose. i mean it almost already happened when the hermitpires crossover happened so i dont think im too far off. i think grian originally exported something simple, like maybe sugarcanes or mud, something easy to farm yknow, but then i dunno got bored or something so he made a couple more farms. then kept making more farms. then the hermitopia we all know and love happened!

actually maybe hermitopia isnt grians first empire. i think grian has a separate empire but decided to invite his friends to help him make some farms and then it just kept going. then hermitopia happened. i like the collaboration aspect of hermitopia so i think thats how that happens. hermitopia isnt necessarily grian's but its under his command so it gets called his. (isnt there a word for this? was it vassalage? i think its vassalage)

with that in mind i went with a robot-y grian because grumbot and a snazzy cool suit because business man (sidenote im looking over my pre art notes and one of them is just capitalism man and. yeah! not wrong). i gave him more steampunk-y wings than the usual feathery ones cause that fit better. i gave him a crown not really sure why but it fits since without it the design was more Just A Guy but with it he's more Emperor yknow. the buttons have a g on it because he would and an (attempted) gold trim cause that looked nice and fancy. originally he was gonna have four wings cause fun fact four wings is part of my base grian design but four wings kind of crowded the drawing so i didnt include them (sad) and i also didnt include the tail hes supposed to have because i couldnt find a good way to add it in with the pose. but in my heart he has both four wings and a tail

now why magazine style artwork? i 'unno. i thought itd look cool. and it does!! it looks SO cool!!! im so proud of it. recap magazine!! because of course im gonna make a hermitcraft recap reference are you kidding me recap is practically already a magazine reporting what gossip is happening on the hermitcraft server on any given week. its very specifically volume 9 issue 34 because thats when the crossover happened season 9 week 34 babey we love little esoteric details hell yeah!! i looked up how magazine covers work and its supposed to be like, main article big and smaller supporting side articles just kinda floating around so i did that!! and i made them funney references because of course i did! local bard catches scurvy because you cannot convince me that oli orionsound would not catch scurvy he would. does god is gay is a reference to that does bruno mars is gay nonsense article that makes me laugh everytime specifically in reference about mr smallish bean because he. has so many children. and none of them as far as i know from the lady server members theyre all lovechilds from gay lovers its hysterical and hilarious. quit your job join our sun cult is about the dawn empire because thatse the vibe that empire gives me and i think its funny. also!! thats hermitopia!! in the background!! i got the image off of the empires smp wiki and just Biggen'd it and it makes a bomb ass background hell yeah ^-^!!

I am so curious as to what you'd think about Nina and Hoodie as a duo. They've been two of my absolute favorites (even if Brian technically isn't even a creepypasta) since I was younger and I've always loved them as a sort of big brother/little sister pairing. They are so siblings to me I adore them. What are your thoughts on the sillies..

OHHH this is actually super interesting... but also im worried i do not have a lot to say because they won't mesh very well/very much. but i will try. not super realistic headcanons i think but what do i know... <3

brian isnt very present in my story, partially bc ik some mh fans dont like the crossover very much. and by time ninas in the story, i want him+tim to kinda separate from slenderman as toby and kate take over. he's still involved and coming around since he gets horrible slender sickness(but its from the operator) if he's away too long, but he doesn't live near or befriend most of the main cast..

nina is very present in my story because i love her and she is such a good and fun representation of the fandom yk. but brian is much more realistic and late 30s man, while nina is a very cartoonish early 20s girl. theyre on very different fields character and life wise...

BUUUUUUUUUT they would still meet of course.

she'd be bubbling around the entire cast, meeting people through jeff. people initially think she's in the same vein as jeff, natalie, and toby, with a LONG list of blood on their hands influenced by the operator, so they just don't think much about it. theyre mostly surprised by how cheery she is, but the proxies are the first to find out she's just... obsessed with jeff..... so thats very off putting. brian isn't fond of it.

nina would develop some light slender sickness(again, from the operator) just by being around jeff all the time, but the operator never infected her because he didn't see her as a worthy vessel. so, she would have to come to the proxies about it. if toby isnt in the mood or busy, she'd just have to hope brian/tim are around with some pills that'll soothe the pain

brian is more likely to help. with nina, he'd be quick to take on a more protective role, trying to console her as she cries on the couch holding her head whining about static.

initial convos would go smth along the lines of "do you want some coffee ? or uh kids like hot chocolate huh... maybe tea" "i'm literally in my 20s please tell me toby has weed somewhere" "that does not help with this pain i promise" "how would you know" "haha. water it is."

brian was a major stoner back in his early 20s and nina thinks its fucking hilarious. . . she'll try to get him to smoke with her but he's rlly not interested LOLLLL.... hes like 15 yrs older than her he thinks its weird .

again, he's not around a lot, but she's always happy to bump into him. she'd be squealing n shit 'HIII BRIANNNN how r u :3' and he'd just be like :) hey nina. and then never answer the 'how r u' bc he doesnt actually wanna sit and talk .

its a good change of pace. he's been through hell and back for well over a decade by this point, everyone around him is a sad sack of shit, and he spent a long time just. fighting to be an optimistic, cool guy to hang around . . but .... like.... um..... its hard to be that kind of person after all he's been thru. something about nina just forces that sort of like..... glee out of him . its not a huge difference where he's suddenly bouncing and giggling and whatever, he's still just Some Guy. but he'll be like :) lol .

mayhaps he'd catch her trying on toby's goggles and he'd offer to let her try on his mask. but nina would fake gag and be like 'no i dont want that dirty musty nasty sack on my head' and he'd be like ?????. then he'd say she can wash it and then try it on. which.. as an older sibling.... is the type of shit i'd do just to get my sister to do smth for me that i dont wanna do LMFAOOO. she might fall for it just cuz my dear nina is the ultimate fangirl

i dunno i kinda struggled with this one just cuz in my au, they wouldnt be all that close and the Type of characters they are don't mesh very well, but i am super fond of the concept and would love to try expanding on it more

So im just out scrolling tumblr, right? and I see a funny post

now, I happen to remember that this specific person made a post i liked about a pretty cool deltarune theory, and some art of like an evil Frisk with the lyrics of The Main Character in the background, so i go to their blog to try and find it, and thats when i see:

alright, feelings of dread and sadness setting in, but you know what? im sick of being pushed around like this and literally told to die. so i decide to check the carrd to see why this person i'd, until just that moment, respected, and...

all my sad feelings just gave way to fucking manic laughter like what the fuck is "dni if you're profiction" supposed to mean??!?! are you saying you dont support fiction as like a medium?!? dude you make deltarune theories do you understand that deltarune is fiction?!?!?!?!

like i get the point is just "if you say ships are ok because theyre fictional then dni" but profiction is the most batshit insane way of trying to police this like "hello yes plz do not interact if you like to consume a story"

anyways i guess all this to say your blog is cool, shipping characters is rad, and antis are hilariously off their rockers

so. I'm not sure if this belongs here. but I can't really talk abt it irl without hurting other people's feelings so here we go:

I don't think I feel love. like, at all.

I see little mementos of people I used to be close friends with, and I feel nothing. When people tell me they love me, it sometimes feels good to know that i'm liked, but at the same time i only say it back because it is kind of expected (and i dont want to intentionally hurt their feelings). When I think about the people in my life leaving or dying, i don't feel sad. i don't feel anything.i find it easier to feel compassion for the idea of people than a person i actually know irl. i have problems mantaining long lasting friendships because it takes work and in the end it doesn't make a huge difference to me whether this person specifically is in my life or not.

i think the closest thing i feel to love is when i feel the sun tingling in my skin or am cuddling with my dog (who sometimes makes funny noises, its hilarious)

im not sure what the point of this ask is tbh. I always thought that love was a huge part of my life (even if not romantic), but I recently realized that that is not true. or at least, not anymore. it wasn't earth shattering or anything. it felt more like a scientist confirming something they already knew, if it makes sense? a detached sense of "oh yeah, makes sense. moving on"

so yeah. I don't need consoling or reassurance or anything. just cool to be able to tell it to real people (even if anonymously lol)

Dunno. Just remember that lack of love or empathy does not automatically make you subhuman or a bad person :)

What the fuck is an animorphs and why are you going insane about it

OOOHHHKAY. WELL.

animorphs is a childrens sci fi book series most people know best from the fucked up covers that feature children turning into animals. like so:

anyway behind these goofy late 90s-early 2000s covers is a devastating story about the horrors of war and the difficult moral decisions that the characters (who are like 13 at the beginning of the story, mind you) face while trying to save their planet from an invasion of brain-controlling slug aliens. and also goofy as hell things like instant maple oatmeal being a drug, god being an alien gamer, and an alien obsessed with cinnamon buns. there are 52 books in the main series each told from the pov of one of the six animorphs and several side books that provide more lore or supplementary adventures. featuring:

- jake, who is the leader and #1 killjoy ever and i always thought he was boring so i dont remember much about him

- rachel, gymnast shopping queen and ruthless murderer slash battle addict. absolute tragedy of a girl. imagine if sasha waybright was allowed to transform into a bear at will and commit murders on screen. if youre into oversimplification thats pretty close to rachel.

- cassie, animal lover and moral center of the group. people will gush about how animorphs makes you think about difficult moral quandaries and then call cassie annoying like shes not the reason we get that kind of introspection in the first place. girl is Literally always trying to do the right thing and Spoilers: she is right about A Lot. never trust a cassie hater

- marco, the platonic ideal of the sad clown. silly guy, full of jokery and stereotypical middle school boy-ness. also cynical and ruthless to the max and very interested in self preservation. where cassie is the voice of moral reason, marco is the voice of practical reason. his mom is dead so thats fun. hes also bi coded as hell

- tobias, loser bully magnet turned full-time bird boy. the trans animorphs fans have claimed him as our representative due to his perpetual identity struggles. he was my favorite as a kid alongside rachel hmmm i wonder why anyway i cant say much about him thats not spoilers but he's sad and trapped in this by destiny even more than the rest of them and i love him so goddamn much

- ax, blue scorpion tailed centaur stranded on earth who is the equivalent of a stereotypical elf. snobby and elitist bc of his species being composed of assholes but once the teen disillusionment sets in hes a good kid. and bc the andalites dont naturally have mouths, watching him play with word sounds and obsess over food is hilarious and kind of heartwarming in the best cheesy space-alien-meets-human-culture way

anyway the moral is u should read animorphs the pdfs are easy to find online there's a graphic novel series with a few books out now and im pretty sure theres also audiobooks (theres also a 1998 nickelodeon live action tv adaptation. dont watch it its bad and also it got cancelled before the books even finished coming out)

okay more thoughts on pride and prejudice as i begin chapter 39

1 i want to see lady catherine, mrs. bennet, and miss bingley in the same room together on a podcast panel debating things like marriage and childrearing etc but i dont think the world would be able to handle it

2 i’m interpreting mr. darcy as either being neurodivergent (possibly autistic) and/or having severe social anxiety — and this is really informing my entire perspective of his character (as a core theme to his character is being socially understood/misunderstood). however, i know its still very controversial to “diagnose” fictional characters and i don’t want to come off that way — but historical complications aside (the field of psychology didn’t exist back then how it does now) it’s really obvious to see that he’s not neurotypical, although i don’t know if this is an accepted thing in the austen world though!

3 i’m not buying that mr. darcy’s letter was only 2 pages long. 3 pages minimum with tiny handwriting maybe.

4 this entire novel really highlights the importance of social communication more than anything imo

5 mr. collins is fucking hilarious and his interactions with elizabeth are so accurate/relatable of what it’s like to deal with oblivious men as a female, esp. men who dont know how to take a hint — i was actually laughing out loud through his entire proposal sequence, especially at the line where it says elizabeth is trying hard not to laugh too. so familiar.

6 i wish we could see more of charles i actually like him — i also like colonel fitzwilliam and kind of wanted him to marry elizabeth - its kind of hilarious how casual the topic of marriage is with people you’ve just met & i really want to read more about regency history on marriage specifically now to figure out how much is embellished for satire purposes & how much is true to life

7 i have many thoughts on wickham but thats for a separate post

8 from what little i’ve read about p&p analysis/consensus so far, it seems mrs bennet and some other characters have already been torn to shreds over lit history to the point that its become more common to defend them & mrs bennet in particular, which i understand bc she’s supposed to be a satire on women of the time period but of course her concerns are valid and there are real economic reasons for her actions and societal norms that pertain to them. i’ve also read that it’s common for people to prefer mr bennet over his wife and to pit them against each other which can lead into misogyny & i can see this. however (im sure the bennet family ends up happy at the end, but at this point in the story) i think there are valid reasons for these interpretations which lead people to like mr bennet more than mrs bennet. after the ordeal with collins i really lost respect for mrs bennet for threatening to disown eliza & treating her so harshly, and i gained respect for mr bennet for sticking by eliza. i continuously defended mrs bennet and her behavior up until the collins proposal. i understand she’s desperate for eliza to marry so that she doesn’t become destitute etc. but mr collins simply isnt an ideal husband

9 eliza’s feelings on her friend marrying collins are so sad and relatable of how all of us feel when we watch a friend or loved one enter a shitty relationship and/or betray themselves or lose a part of their personality + the idea of having to mourn your friend especially upon growing up etc. but particularly as it relates to the lonely woman’s experience of finding one’s friends starting to center males & prioritize romance over friendship the older you get.

hope some of this is semi-intelligible - i save the grammar for my real essays - but felt like rambling

i read in the flesh, so you dont have to

its no secret that in the flesh is one of the only things fnaf fans know about fazbear frights and its imfamous for its story (which i dont blame people to be disgusted about)

but have you ever wondered what it was plot-wise but you couldnt have been bothered to read the summary on the wiki, couldnt find the book on your own to read or you just didnt want read the main reason people hate it? no? well too bad

as your local faz fright fan i decided to reread it and make a (incoherent) post made in 4 hours talking about it just because, small screenshots included (trying to not focus enterly on that)

(DONT MAKE "hahaha springtrap matpat mpreg" JOKES ON THIS POST I WILL KILL YOU)

(cw for pregnancy mention and matt being an ass to women in general)

everything under cut

now the story just starts out with matt, our protag, telling us all about how hard game making is for a page or two, theres nothing interesting of note moving on

now right after this hes playing his game, springtraps revenge, a VR game which is just a maze with puzzles where you have to escape springtrap, and 1. i got jumpscared by him describing springtrap as hannabel lecter and 2. the fact that springtrap is described as 'a child of his rage' which i just find hilarious in a ironic way

now in the game hes in a maze and he has to escape using 4 doors, and because its randomized he doesnt know which door would have the 1-in-4 chance of killing him, and long story short he looses! twice

he gets angry enough so that he throws his vr headset after the fact and when his coworker named jamie wanted to walk in to tell him hi he snaps at her

and immediatly after this we get afew paragrapths talking about matt and his previous wife, hannah

it starts off as cute, them both meeting in chemistry class in highschool, matt then started to have gotten bored of being married as it seemed to be the same thing every day, hannah having wanted kids and matt not wanting to

now he has the audacity to say that her being pregnant that she would loose her petite figure and that she had called him shallow and threw a glass of water on his face (HONESTLY very deserved)

and he had met some woman named brianna as a friend which had led to them divorcing after their annervary because of hannah seeing brianna in a bikini on his computer (hi matt, i dont believe you about you and brianna just being friends. at all. btw.)

(also i need to say this right now before anyone kills me: matt is written to be an asshole on purpose, i know that very well and it shows up how he treats people, i know its also in his perspective which is why everyone is described as it is, i know other protags have been assholes one way or another as most of my faves have been, i just dont like matt myself but if ur like one of the 3 matt fans ur cool with me and im not saying you cant like him just saying this so people dont tell me how dumb i am)

"Women were crazy, Matt had decided. And not worth the effort." GOOD RIDDANCE YOU ARE BITCHLESS

and now because of how lonely and frustrated he feels he uses his VR game as a way to deal with it, but with an actual quote "It was the cruelest of ironies that the game—much like his relationships —seemed to have turned against him."

ok but these quotes sound kinda metal. moving on

having been mad that springtrap killed him for the 3rd time this book he decides to change up the coding, so that springtrap can just, walk around forever in the maze and spedup the gameframe by 1000 so is like extra sad i guess, matt talks about himself like a god controlling a rabbit which i found kinda funny, (the voice of woody) YOU! ARE! SOME! GUY!

now here we meet the next important side-character called jason, hes matts roommate he seems friendly and they seem to be on good terms so far

he and jason watch TV and he thinks about how it was like in collage, "no complicated female emotions" having takeouts and TV and video games all day, however as time went by those feelings of being carefree are wearing off,

but thats unrelated as theyre watching the TV show he thinks about how violent it is and fantisizing how he wants to kill springtrap, which is hilarious to me.. “i saw him kill me in the vr game!!!” girl… what were YOU doing progamming him 👀 /ref

now a tiny timeskip, matt is back at his job and he is testing the VR game again, he is excited to see springtrap run around in circles like a lost child or whatever and gets a surprise

gonna be honest i think thats kinda metal how it sounds (if we ignore how the story is gonna continue for a moment) why is this the 3rd time i see disembowlment in a series i like.... 3rd penny.... werid it happened thrice

tldr springtrap has been making a clone of himself very so often and killing himself which is funny out of context because all it has as a game mechanic is to chase you and kill you, and the rabbit is now gone and apparently not in the code and considering matt has a deadline he is screwed and he goes in the vr game and just finds him . disembowled and gets an electrical shock

ANYWAYS. NOT IMPORTANT ITS TIME TO INVOLVE MORE WOMEN

jason has been setting up matt for a double date with two girls: eve and meghan, and matt is not happy that eve is his date (which im gonna assume its a blind date? not specified)

and the first thing he does is look at this girl, go "wow she fucking sucks" and starts thinking about the woman on his roommates date

"matt couldnt figure out why she didnt sound ehtusiastic" i am going to killl you........ and then kill you again

anyways they both take their own cars to the resturant, eve and matt just have a talk thats like "you work on fnaf? my brother loves fnaf" "what do you do" "IT, jason thought itd be nice of us to know" "tech is the last thing i want to think about when im home" "me too"

this made me giggle. moving on

matt and meghan get the same food while jason and eve get spaghetti and matt is just like "yknow what, maybe i should have gotten the hotter one"

so matt is like "cant have a goodtime without money" and eve is like "thats not true :>" and matt in his mind is like "what the hell, how could she do this to me"

now for the rest of the date matt just goes on and only talks about himself, eve and jason both go to the bathroom and this is where he starts to try to impress meghan

matt is that "you not rockin with me ?! im gonna kill myself" image personified

and now this is where the pregnancy symptons come in, feeling quesy, he drinks coffee and has toast and is sick, deciding to go to work untill lunchtime and nothing had worked at this point at all, nothing too interesting to point out here

obvously now matt is irritated again, given how he cannot fix the damn thing, gary, a unimportant guy you wont see him again after this, comes up to him and asks "heyyy watcha doing!!!!!!" meanwhile matt is trying not to throw up

(oh and also gary is described as having ken-doll like hair which is hilarious to me, love it when they give the most random descriptions to characters who will never appear again)

while hes waiting for gus to make his food he looks over at a totally-not-pacmac refrence from a arcade machine nearby and is like "oh i could have reprogrammed springtrap in, how couldnt have i thought of that" and how this time he 'wont antagonise the rabbit' which i find funny cuz in the game he IS the antag but i cant be bad

WE INTERUPPT YOUR BROADCAST OF MISOGENYSTIC GUY GETTING HIS WORK FUCKED OVER TO BRING YOU: GENE!!!!!!!!!

tldr this gene guy is a hacker and gets a copy of springtraps revenge before the release date and just finds a dead disembowled springtrap which i can only imagine as this fucking screenshot and its sending me

anyway he opens the files and just finds one named "its_a_boy.exe"

did you like gene? you did? too bad, were never gonna see this guy again, say bye to gene junior

back to your usual broadcasting of misogynistic guy getting fucked over at his job

now matt is on his 2nd date with a girl called madison, matt being so hungry, orders some real cooked steak and madison is like i just want a salad please ^_^ and matt asks about what madison eats and is shocked that she spilts a burger when with friends (cuz hes so hungry at this point)

these sentences amused me, moving on

also in this i realised whoever made that one post saying "i need these books to stop using the world belly" was right. who says "Well, you won’t hear it long because it’s going to be in my belly" on a date

belly counter: 1 (for good mesure)

he just, eats the steak for a good few paragrapths, lies about being anemic, madison leaves cuz her cat is sick, hes still so hungry, theres nothing else to note of here, moving on

he wakes up, notices that he has gained afew pounds and goes to throw up

jamie meets matt and matt is like "listen im nausiated alot and starving and gaining more weight do you know any virus like this" and jamie is like "idk but you look yellowish you might have jaundice dude"

and a meeting has started, gary (hi gary again i lied he comes back a 2nd time) is like "so the game is doing well, springtraps programming people have said isnt that well, thats what beta testers said idk" and matt is like "what the hell shut the fuck up ur making it up" "how about you not talk to ur supervisor like that" and he just zooms out of there idk

he goes home to eat, again, he is no longer hungry and: ladies and gentlemen welcome jason again!

GET HIS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!! DESERVED

right after this based jason moment matt gets a headache, not before getting a beer oh my god i cant believe i forgot about the belly counter

belly counter: 3

anyways next mini arc, matt at this point cant put on most pants, but manages to find some for his next date, with a girl named emma

so he and emma are at a bar, matt noticing immediatly that she is ""chunky"" , leading to this convo

and nvm i cant post anymore images sorry guys ill have to put them in another reblog its so over link to that will be here if you wanna look at them

(1) emma sees him and is rightfully concerne about him leaving this early and matt goes. "you should have posted a image on a dating site not 25 pounds ago" OK. WHAT

and emma just goes . "you know you are a hypocrite right" meanwhile he is like "im leaving goodbye" and has a scene the equivalent of ripping ur pants out in public

(2) lol even

matt goes home, gets changed and tries to take medicine for pain relieve and instead gets more pain, leading to the infamous scene

but wait before that i almost forgot:

the infamous scene isnt that, bad? ive seen people act like if its some unspeakable horror

matt goes into the kitchen, grabs a knife, goes on his back and disembowls himself / gives himself a C-section or whatever, almost the same, and fleshtrap is born, or something

(3) i would have expected it to be afew more paragraths if this was the case w how people describe it, its like people going "look guys this CANT be a kids book it has PEOPLE DYING" and its just like this,

(not saying you cant be grossed out im talking about the guys on freddit making the most batshit theories talking about it like its some unspoken thing, thats what i mean)

it was ok, no strong opinions on this honestly, had some banger lines,

and my hot take but the pregnancy thing isnt really a pregnancy? i dont know how to describe it, but it was more like, a whole entity growinh up the whole body and not like, just from the abdomen which would have been described differently, to me atleast thats how i saw it idk i might be wrong

considering it seemed to have been fully grown enough to be able to move on its own and speak, and the fact that it was described as something INSIDE him (5) so idk, idk

and it wasnt even that horrible, they dont mention it often and it isnt that in detail if you ask me, everyone is just like "OHHH THE HORROR YOU GET TO SEE SPRINGTRAP BIRTH" but again if you still cant handle it i cant blame you you do whats best for ur health

honestly i know it does describe fleshtrap as a newborn infant and the whole its_a_boy.exe thing it makes it confusing to me, the best i can describe it in my opinion is like those horror alien movies where a guy gets infected with a parasite and another alien comes out of his ass or something, yknow

in the flesh was a story about a guy who had all his relationships tumble down not only by his frustration with them, but his frustration with the way he programmed his game, leading him to be isolated and depressed after everyone had left him on his own

that description of britt is so... accurate. like nail on the head 100% truth, words taken straight from my mouth, etc. he can genuinely be so beautiful – it's actually stunning. sometimes he can look like an evil goblin lol. it's astounding. seeing it irl is kind of blinding, hypnotic in a way? he moves so fluidly and perfectly. like 100% control and command of the space he's in – he knows what he's doing. like he could just be like any other performer and just stay stood in one place barely moving – let alone interacting with any other members, which is very lovely to witness – all interaction between them is so heartwarming, like you just know they all actually love doing what they're doing and enjoy performing. they goof off sometimes, don't give a fuck when they do. it's just lovely.

and yes alex is literally the babiest girl to have ever existed imo. only one other man is that good to me but i'm not mentioning (not shameful, just don't think anybody cares. it's sebastian vettel.) that aside he is also so... bizarre? which is something even i overlooked for an extremely long time until i was like Okay what is up w this guy what is his lore. he has a deeply attention deficit riddled childlike quirkiness that i have to resonate with. his tweets on the spoon twt are really unhinged. even his personal tweets are unhinged. he says some of the most random shit sometimes in interviews. he somehow manages to look so fucking beautiful when he's bored as fuck in interviews. i made a heap of gifs from one bts video from their twms era acl performance (need to track down the full thing and make more) and he's so fucking drunk it's endearing – he's just vibing the fuck out in his own little world the entire time. in the post-show interview he's looks utterly hammered sipping from a bottomless solo cup, not saying anything.

it is impossible to hate him. he's genuinely hilarious and all second hand descriptions of him being an instigator and a wild man are extremely accurate. and he's also obviously extremely talented. it's so jhghd to see how -.- he kind of gets whenever britt complements him on that. i'd have to dig around but there was a lots era pod they did and britt complemented him on his ability to play guitar which is a more recent-ish thing for him and said he's better than he is and alex was like Ummm okay? that's not true -__- and it's like ohgh man.... like the first (noisy) solo on satellite is alex btw and it's good?? he even bashes himself for not being able to sing too which is such a lie he sounds like an angel whenever he does live backup... but alas. he is so loved. we love him. everyone loves him. we all know britt loves him. he is the entire universe.

also yes i will forever be posting my garbicth music need not worry... nothing will ever stop me from posting spotify links here or anywhere else. i have a massive general diary playlist of everything i listen to on a near daily basis and it's updated constantly. it's just one huge log of everything i've enjoyed since i was 16 lol. only becomes truly curated after mid 2017, though. also i apologize for the vast amount of greyed out local file tracks in that playlist but i swear a lot of them are worth tracking down if you're really interested.

I find it hilarious and honestly sad how a lot of people claim marvel is trying to give woman representation in superhero movies while they mishandle their main female characters so much. They constructed such amazing wanda motivations in wandavision with a whole backstory just to ignore and take the most surface level thing from the description and make it her entire character in multiverse of madness( and im ok with villain and mad with power wanda it makes sense but not in the way it was presented like when you know the people didnt watch wandavision everything makes sense). Loki season 2 has two other examples unfortunally: Sylvie and Ravonna. Sylvie was such an important and well contructed character in season 1 she challenged Loki and others to change the status quo. In this season she saw the consequences and yet my girl was not proposing a alternative she was basically set in the same plan that was not working. She had 1 choice right that was not kill Victor Timely because she feel he could change and not become he who remains why isnt she fighting for the change she wants when she was warned again and again that without anything no tva or alternative everyone dies. Girl if you wanna die that is your issue dont drag the rest of the multiverse with you and speak for zillion of people i though not letting people die was the whole motive for this. She was NOT the voice of reason in season 2 like she was in season 1. Like you can not put me on her side this time with what she is saying and honestly i dont think you should be trying to do that at all. She shouldnt be. Maybe it was better if she wasnt in most of season 2 and have the life she always wanted to have i think she could do way better than spend most of her time on mcdonalds now she could actually form relantionships without worrying she was being hunted and just come back in the last episodes and then we end uo with the "should i kill you?". Also the fact she move on could help make the case of loki dont want to move on and dont want his friends to like they were trying to push with one of their last conversations when clearly he was trying to save the multiverse. Honestly by the amount of time they gave her and the way she was thinking since the beginning you would guess she would arrive in the conclusion Loki had and be the one to sacrifice herself( the scenes of her working at mcdonalds her car and being atormented at the music store dont make a case that you are too happy to give your life for the better quite the opposite) but since it was about Loki and he couldnt be free to mess up with the mcu( the irony) she couldnt arrive at this conclusion first so they just stopped her at we cant do this so lets just die until Loki already sacrificed himself.

Im still trying to understand what Ravonna plan was Miss minutes is crazy and i dont care about that but Ravonna is a character that had such potential and she end up not doing anything at all just killing some TVA agents for no gain at all. When i finished season 2 i was sure she was gonna be one of the persons He who remains was talking about his variant. What she expected to do with a He who remains variant without the tva tech why not help Mobius and Loki seriously at the point they were with no more He who remains team up with tva was the best for her she could try twist things later from the inside. Also she was rejected and she got super mad like? People talk a lot about strong woman get crazy but as a trope it makes sense with characters like wanda and Jean Grey because their characters are superpowerful and power demands a price such a ultrapowerful character need a character weakness that is almost as strong as its power. Ravonna payed the price with her humanity like she said so she could control everything with order but then she barks in mad when that should be the moment we saw her control her coldness Loki Sylvie and honestly everyone at the Tva are now emocional shaken with reason of course but she claims its not her way. She was suppose to be the one claiming she does the tough choices like He who remains her invading the TVA was basically because she doesn't like loki and friends so she wanted to antagonize them completely emotional. Just as Sylvie she didnt have a solution she was just a obstacle without much to add. Such a waste. Maybe is because she is so dependent on Miss minutes and the TVA tech to do anything maybe she could had awaken some power she had before not like loki/He who remains but similar something that at the time helped He who remains at the war or something that made her more powerful so at least she would be a bigger difficult when they met.

Tom hiddleston his Loki and Ke Huy Quan delivering so much and B15(Wunmi Mosaku) finally having her sweet moments unfortunally couldnt shake the bittersweet sensation of more than 2 episodes with Sylvie and Ravenna being so pointless and underwhelming and honestly kinda stupid.( i didnt even need to mention a lack of inteligence in the end of the fightbetween these 2 they could had made it make sense somehow)

As epic as the hockey was last night - and it WAS lol especially the last period, jeff and i were on the edge of our seats. The best part though was a realization i had about this world im trying to break into.

See, my friend "paul" told me something before he left the city (and then got a new job in Japan a month later and im so jealous, he left me here all alone and sad and now he's off having even cooler adventures) - he said that the only way he got his promotion at his old company was by befriending his boss and going out for drinks after work. Which floored me.

And then thinking about the sculptor at l*ght box who blatantly and without shame announced in his presentation that every job he got, he got through friends that he would go out with to build relationships.

And then listening to the Legend talk about back in the day how the more experienced animators used to take him out to lunch when he was still 18, 19 and get him drunk as kind of a hazing ritual. And while the Legend's stories about being so tipsy he had to crawl back to his desk and then try to sit up and draw were absolutely hilarious, the stories made me despair because in an environment like that im not going to cut it.

My closest friends dont care that i dont drink - they've seen me dance, they know that i can act plenty dumb without a drop of alcohol. But people who don't know me well tend to project their own insecurities about alcohol onto me - if they feel guilt over maybe drinking too much they are going to hate me for my seeming judgement of them. (meanwhile im like man, i had to learn to deal with my drunken mother at the age of 14 who honestly was better when she was drunk because it was when she was sober that she was mean. Dealing with drunken friends who giggle a lot, throw up a little, come find me for help because theyre so high theyve lost their shoes and walked two blocks barefoot, and friends who sometimes need to be coaxed into a shopping cart to wheel them back to the car is easy by comparison, i am having fun, this is endlessly entertaining, im saving up fun story fodder for decades to come, no judgement, trust me)

Anyway, i have spent the past two months utterly despairing over the fact that i will never be the type of person who can 'network' properly, and i will never be able to form those 'genuine' bonds that make people want to find you a job.

BUT but. As i was sitting there during intermissions chatting with jeff (who is essentially my boss if it wasnt a 'volunteer' gig lol) and finding out about when he used to coach college soccer and even won a national title, and chatting about the museum and the next couple of months agenda, and chatting about upcoming events we've both been invited to. And i was like holy shit. This is it. Im networking properly \o/ and not a drop of alcohol required, AND its genuinely just two friends hanging out.

anyway, tldr, people who have already found success are gonna try to tell you that there's only one way to do things, and that if you aren't doing it right you need to change what you are doing and maybe your entire personality and do it correctly. Listen to them with a smile, agree with them, and then go do it your own way anyway. Even if its a little slower and less glamerous
