the art im making is for if mdzs was an ace attorney game, playing from WWX's POV to solve various mysteries/cases over the course of the plot. so this scene would be from turnabout goddess, which would loosely cover the dafan mountain mystery.

the problem with splitting novel!mdzs into turnabouts is that flashbacks are a huge chunk of the book but they don't have mysteries/ cases to solve so they've gotta be lumped together with present day stuff. imo? many of the flashbacks would likely have to be abridged so they could be retold ala DL-6, SL-9, or the fourth grade incident, where characters talk about it over some pieces of art. this is really difficult when theres a metric ton of unspoken, complex, and signifcant history between every character lmao

there's not as much of a problem with the cql timeline but i have not finished it. so.

the opening cutscenes in ace attorney always show the murder and/or the murderer plotting. the first cutscene of the game would be MXY summoning WWX, muttering about getting revenge on his family (it would also be good for him to mention the yllz being dead because that's how the novel starts.) cut to WWX's POV as he wakes up covered in blood and the investigation segment begins.

for investigations of monsters (goddess, saber, etc) the cutscene would be a scene of some poor throwaway cultivator getting their shit wrecked.

it would be cool to make a breakdown for JGY but again I need to review that scene cause I don't know who I'd base him on. maybe Vasquez or Dahlia.

since some ppl did say yes, buckle up for a VERY long analysis because this song and "want" + a few others are some of my ultimate hannibal songs.

Hannibal song of the day: song no.1

a bit about the song:

"Missing Piece" (released in 1997) is a song by Recoil, a music project by Alan Wilder (former member of Depeche Mode, a group which I absolutely love and have a lot of their songs in my playlist). The song was written and sang as a duo by Alan Wilder and Siobhan Lynch. It's a moody and dark electronica song with jazzy elements and even a violin solo In short, the song is about self discovery and enlightement that a relationship has brought to the narrator, who has felt alone and misunderstood their whole life until they met the person who was their "missing piece". It explores the complex emotions and realisations that arose from the relationship(whether the relationship ended or not isn't really implied, at least in my eyes, although for my view on the song when it comes to hannibal, i think it might have).

now, i think from that it's already clear enough that I'm thinking about hannigram for this. I mean c'mon, a narrator that felt misunderstood and has been afraid to fully opening up to anybody, because of it's risks, even though they have so much love to give. That's literally Hannibal.

Although I feel like the narrator can also be Will but with how open and desparate the narrator seems, I keep thinking of Hannibal.

Hannibal loves to impact people (literally manipulates them), even though it doesn't last (usually).

Through the show, we can see just how many people he actually changed, changing their mindsets, convincing them to murder etc. that's more leaving an impact on their brain, but with Will, he's different. He indeed does change his mindset but he also really tries to get a place in Will's heart and get his attention because, as he confessed to Bedelia, Will intrigues him. I think the lyrics of the narrator wanting to write themselves on the walls of somebody's heart and leave an impact on them is just so incredibly hannibal.

But again, those people don't last usually, they usually end up dead, be it as Hannibal's dinner or something else. He knows this danger, and he knows this complicated knot of manipulation and lies he tied himself and Will with will most likely break off at some point, which he slowly comes to realise he doesn't want it to happen. (and then fucking mizumono happens)

In the song, the narrator hides the truth, most likely because of the fear of rejection, fearing the person doesn't feel the same, or because of the fear of losing the person. In season 2, his decision was to continue lying, not confessing the truth of his plan to Will, in my eyes to try and secure him in his hold, get his trust and love, see if Will would truly understand him and accept him for who he is - so, he stops himself from telling Will the truth, pretending his plan, his answers have nothing to do with his love for Will, but instead pretend that his plan is to destroy Will's life, leaving out the part where he's hoping Will would want to try and rebuild his life with Hannibal.

Chorus

self explanatory. There's so little to say, because the lyrics describe it so well, yet at the same time there's SO much to say.

The chorus is sung as a duo, both the narrator and the narrator's person. They both feel like they're the same and are each other's missing pieces, harmonising together.

I truly thing the best way to describe hannigram's relationship is by saying that they're each other's missing pieces. Hannibal seems to be a well-organized set of his pieces that make up him as well as a set of other people that he manipulated kind of as a list (maybe some as trophies). He's so composed, he's sure of his values and knows who he is, he's fully in control yet still felt incomplete, so he has spent his whole life finding that last missing piece (perhaps another meaning for missing, maybe he already had one and lost it, the missing piece being his sister........ ouch, although can't give much thought to this cuz haven't seen season 3 yet), a person who will be just like him and will complete him, not judge him, see him, accept him and be with him. That piece is Will.

He holds him up to the light, analyses him, studies him, gets to know him to determine if he is indeed the missing piece (in the show, he does his usual tactic of manipulating with the intention of making him his dinner but the more he got to know him, the more intrigued he got and saw a possibility of Will understanding him), and he indeed is his missing piece.

The fact that the narrator's person only sings during the chorus makes me think of how Hannibal made Will realise that he is Hannibal's missing piece and that although Will didn't really want it to be true, Hannibal helped him realise that Hannibal is Will's missing piece too - That's why I see the narrator as Hannibal and narrator's person as Will. He seems to be the second to realise this and accept this.

"Sometimes is a lonely place" is straightforward, I think. The two literally admit and show that they feel alone without each other, they have never felt so true to themselves as they feel when they're together, a room or a moment in life without one another is empty, a period without each other is a period they feel the most lonely.

Verse 2

"So tow me over to the light

The sound, the sound it is in sight

Found my heart was contained within a cell

Found my heart in this tuck-a-way-me world"

ngl, verse 2 and chorus are quite similar in meaning to me. Maybe it's more so Hannibal letting Will study him as well and get to know him, letting Will tow him over to the light (let Will inside his mind). I feel like the lyrics about the narrator's heart being contained in a cell is maybe Hannibal becoming more and more aware of how restrictive he was with his emotions, how his human suit made him lock away his real heart and after many tries of trying to find the right key, Will finally found it and unlocked Hannibal's true self to the world. Overall, I feel like Hannibal feels the world is very restrictive for his type of people but he has found a way to live with it and accept it, although the desire to find a person like him never disappeared

Coda

the end seems very lamentful to me. Sorry but it reminds me of mizumono

the end is overall so beautiful, I love how dark, slow yet jazzy and classy the song sounds, the coda just sounds like absolute heaven to me and its instrumental reminds me of the show overall so so much

but anyhow, the lyrics getting repeated, the moody, whiny tone the narrator sings it in combined with the reverb and minor key just immediately makes me think that the narrator lost their missing piece, reminiscing the times they had with them. Because of that, I immediately think of Mizumono and how distraught Hannibal was when he realised that Will betrayed him, letting Will see him just for Will to try and get him killed, even though he had a plan of giving back Will everything that he lost and everything that was precious to him. The whole song sounding quite blurry makes me think of how much emptiness Hannibal probably felt after the events in mizumono, how much of a blur everything was to him.

in conclusion, the song is literally so hannibal lecter coded to me

while looking up one of the titles from the TFTP books, the search was kind enough to autocomplete with "B-7 transphobic" and i absolutely had to look it up because i had a growing suspicion of what people would be on about.

i came across a whole reddit thread in which the writer had to clarify that the story was meant to be more along the lines of a reverse-Pinocchio scenario, and not at all an allegory for transness. i wholly agree because oftentimes queer readings are present regardless of lack of intention on the author's behalf, but there's something here about a cis woman inadvertently writing a novella about dysphoria. like, for clarification, cis people absolutely experience gender dysphoria, but the term "dysphoria" doesn't just apply to gender.

i could argue that B-7 could very well be an allegory for autism, too. he will only eat certain foods, wear certain colors, sleep in certain conditions, etc.

but if we're sticking solely to the trans allegory for dysphoria... the horror, to me, as a trans person, isn't about regretting undergoing medical transition or even "waking up at one point and realizing you were wrong about who you thought you were".

to me the horror lies in parents' love being conditional. in his father walking out because he could "no longer deal with him", in his mother committing suicide the moment he turned 21 because she could no longer deal caring for her son. to me the horror was the utter lack of autonomy, of reaching out for affirming care and being told "you're fucking insane, we're not gonna modify your body" to the point where he had no choice but to seek out the services of underground, unlicensed surgeons that butchered him. the fact that he killed himself when the very last person he cared for/allegedly cared for him walked out on him because he "went too far"? that's not transphobia, that's a very real conclusion to a lot of people's stories.

what are your muse’s morals / ethics ? do they follow their moral code strictly ?

i would definitely place tsuki in very neutral territory. they're not bad, and they don't have malicious intent or desires. but they wont go out of their way to do good either. they've heard a lot of fairy tales, and history involving heroics. but the belief that they must go out of their way to do good-- to be good? it's kind of ridiculous to them. if it's convenient, or they happen to be in the right place at the right time- they are likely to help if asked. but tsuki wont go out of their way to help people. and yes i do think they follow this quite strictly-- as much as one can a general mindset. all tsuki wishes to do is live their own life. to experience living outside of the moon sea, and their mother's shadow. what happens to other people is not really a major concern for them.

what event drastically changed your muse’s life ? do they resent that event or are they glad of it ?

i'd say...the moment they became self aware. if that makes sense. when they had the clarity to acknowledge they were an individual. pretty much every starborn is...fanatical in their love for their mother. and once upon a time, tsuki was just like their siblings. but something clicked out of place one day, and they knew they wanted to be separate from them. they wanted to be a person. that was pretty massive for them honestly. and a huge, impactful change for their character. it was the first time they ever felt real joy, for them-- not for their mother.

of course. as plotting happens, and interactions increase, more could be added here. varying from person to person. they're very new to the world at large. there is a lot they haven't experienced.

what does your muse take inner comfort in knowing ? what guides your muse ?

they take a lot of comfort in knowing they'll never be what they were again. that even if they were never able to leave the moon sea, they would always be who and what they chose to be. fate can only decide so much for someone.

as for guidance...im not sure actually. they're kind of their own guide, they don't look to any one thing, they follow their whims and inspiration as it comes. it's kind of a big part of their character. they don't let other things dictate how they act. they pull away from fate, their own especially.

i guess if i had to choose, i'd say the sea. i know i joke about tsuki being in love with the sea-- but it's not entirely a joke. they do love it. they love the sound, the smell, the visuals. they love the unerring chaos of it, the hidden depths. it can be the most beautiful thing-- but there is a frightening quality to it. the unknown. the sea is not controlled or dictated by anything. and that is why tsuki loves it so much. not just the visuals and the aesthetic. but the metaphorical freedom it has. they're drawn to it, they want to be just like it.

I recently came across an anti ao3 blog and the pinned post was an essay about how being exposed to sexual content as a teenager gave them ptsd and an older user “groomed” them. And like the screenshots they showed were maybe a little inappropriate but not anything near grooming.

They also claimed they were traumatized by a thorki fic that they claimed had a graphic rape scene so of course I looked it up and it was like mildly kinky with the characters giving full consent. The fic was tagged with the ship and rated E.

Like, it’s not possible to be traumatized by a fic. I’ve read books and seen movies I thought were disturbing or emotionally difficult that lingered in my mind. I’ve read books that gave me nightmares (my meds make me more susceptible to vivid dreams). None of that is trauma. When I was 14 I came across the story Guts by chuck palahnuik bc someone in the redwall forum I was on posted it and this was before tws or cws were prevalent. And guess what I lived lmao

Genuinely if you can’t handle your emotions about fic you either shouldn’t read it or get mommy or daddy to preview it for you

TBH, I have no idea what all can cause lingering trauma. Brains are weird.

But I too have seen such blogs including probably that exact one, and it's tragic how much they don't get what actually happened to them. Typically (and definitely for that one if I'm thinking of the same one), they were a dumb 14-year-old who wanted attention, and they kept doing more and more things that made them uncomfortable, like writing more sexual fic than they wanted to or staying in conversations about dark or sexual topics or consuming some media because someone dared them to.

If they'd had a decent adult around to talk to, maybe they'd have learned the ability to say "no" or maybe they wouldn't have been so desperate for attention and validation from randos or maybe they could at least have processed the experience in a useful way. But they didn't.

You were nervous-fingers typing away on an essay that you honestly had no clue on how to write. Yet here you were-winging it- teeth slightly grinding and you swear you were sweating. Yoongi was typing away his eyes casting to the paper files then back to his desk top- after he had asked you out on a date you had instantly fallen into a slightly awkward yet comfortable silence. You had finished what little work Jin had given you- having argued that you could handle more yet the older Alpha shook his head and huffed that you had a paper to write. An economics paper- the dreaded paper one that you only had a title page for and nothing else. The five page paper that was due by the end of the night. You were at this point just bullshitting half of the stuff you were writing and you couldn’t help the anxious laughter as you suddenly dropped your head down into your arms. Groaning.

“Pup?” Yoongi mumbles, making you shake your head as your laughter slightly grows as you move to sit back up as you look at him- his head slightly tilting as his slick back hair slightly moves as he sits back away from his computer. His eyes were moving from you to your computer screen and his smile grew as he watched you pout. “What is it?”

“I hate Economics-and yeah I get it it is very important for this career but still- it feels pointless.” You ramble as he chuckles “And this paper-this paper is literally gonna drive me to jump out your window- I don't understand the topic I was given let alone whatever-that mess I’ve written.” You finished with a huff, eyes closing arms crossing over your chest as you hear him inhale- the sound of his chair rolling right next to yours, his body heat radiating off of him onto you as his arms slid across the back of your chair, the other gripping your laptop and scrolling up.

“Let me see if I can help.” He mumbled making your nod as you unconsciously leaned your head against his shoulder making him tense up slightly-which in turn made you inhale and lift your head. Though his hand lands on your shoulder and slides up your neck making you look over as he smiles at you.

“Sorry I just wasn't ready for that, come back here." he whispered, making you smile as you moved to rest your head back on his shoulder. His hand is still pressing against your neck- his thumb running against your scent gland as he reads through your works-half chuckling at certain parts and then he stops and removes his hand from your neck, sliding it under you and reaching around to the keyboard to delete and retype a sentence. “That was worded horrible-how are you a senior in college.”

“I'm second in my class.”

“If they saw the sentences that would change everything.” He mumbles a teasing tone as you smack his leg making him chuckle as you feel lips press to the top crown of your head. “Also if this is you bullshiting I really want to read a paper of yours actually trying. I can see why you’re top of your class.”

“Second.” You grumbled making him huff as he stopped scrolling and moved his hand to your thigh.

“I know the only reason why you’re second and not first is because you’re an omega-so you to me are top of the class.” His words had your face heating up- your mind going hazy as you let out a soft purr like sound making him chuckle as you pull away and clear your throat, though he doesn't let you get far. “Hey-hey look at me-well hello there baby.” he muttered when seeing how dilated your eyes were-it had you closing your eyes, hands reaching to cover your face but his hands caught your wrist. “Oh no don't hide.” He chuckled his minty breath fanning your face as you felt the tip of his nose against yours as his lips gently brush against yours. “You’re fucking adorable.” he mumbled arms wrapping around you after he had turned your chair towards him. His nose brushed into your hair as you awkwardly bent forward.

“Small.” you whispered, making him chuckle again as he pulls back hand moving to your neck, thumb at the base of your chin as his pointer fingers brushes against your ear. It had you whining as he smiled at you. “Stopppp.” You whine making his laughter grow even more.

“Comeback-then we’ll work on this paper together okay? I’ll be your wall to bounce ideas off of.” nodding you let yourself breath-closing your eyes as you tried to focus on you. The way your clothes move against your skin, your hair was being slightly tugged at by the hair tie-the way his skin burned yours. It had you opening your eyes and blinking rapidly as you huff at the Alpha in front of you-his half gummy smile as his brown eyes stared into you. The feeling of his hand back at the base of your neck-brushing agasing against your scent gland really wasn't helping you ground yourself.

“Stop.” You grumbled, arms moving to push his hand away as he bites a laugh- his head shaking as he dropped his hand from your neck-though the moment his body heat wasn't against yours you felt this overwhelming feeling of sadness-of fear. His eyes widened as your sweet cookie scent started to burn as he quickly moved back in front of you-hand placing itself right back at the base of your neck, thumb moving across your skin as he pressed his forehead against yours. It had your scent changing- sweetening back up as he chuckles at you.

“Though you knew how to control your drops without an Alpha." His teasing words came after a couple of minutes of the two of you justin sitting there-it had you huffing eyes opening-mind clear as you pushed his hand off of your neck as you stuck your tongue out at him.

“Don’t make me rethink going on that date.”

“Oh no whatever shall I do-” he mumbles sarcastically, making you swat at his arm as he let out a soft chuckle as he grabbed the bottom of your chair moving his legs apart so he could roll you and your chair between them. Squishing your knees in the process. “My little Alpha heart can’t take the thought.” He pauses, eyes locked with yours as his hands resting on your thigh as you let out a shaky breath-his hand sliding up your thigh the feeling of his warm calloused hand against your skin had you shivering. Your inner omega rolling on her back- submitting- yet you fell frozen. “Of you not with me tonight.” He mumbled his fingers drawing shapes as he kept his eyes locked on yours. “Just pains me to my core.” His lips suddenly touch yours, his hand squeezing as you let out the most drawn out whine you’ve ever heard. It had him chuckling as he pulled away.

“Why’d you stop?”

“So you’d want more.” He shrugged, making you huff as he pushed you back to your original spot. Rolling next to you as he smiled at you. “Now let's get this paper finished.”

On the topic of How Do You Handle XYZ Comment, I've always wondered how you handle terrible responses on your toh takes. Like I know the toh fandom doesn't lack piss on the poor reading comprehension and they also really enjoy wildly out of touch takes, but I've never seen any comments on your princess luz stuff of that nature. I'm sure they must be there but maybe I'm too early? But anyway, how do you tend to deal with the "acktually shipping luz and Hunter is incest" and the "ur not a real lesbian because putting amity in a poly ship is lesbian erasure" and the "as a white person kinda sus you make the poc woman an empress" kind of responses? Ones that are technically not hate and maybe if you squint could be from people who aren't inherently trying to do bad but just lack the maturity needed to engage with the internet at large?

this ask made me giggle. honestly, i haven't received as much pushback as you might expect! way less pushback than i expected. in the princess AU, i've gotten a LOT more "this is actually too grotesque for me to stomach" comments than "this is problematic" comments, which is fine. horror-thriller isn't for everyone, those comments do not upset me.

i have had a Few run-ins with bad faith people, whom i mostly block. there's one prolific commenter in toh tumblr fandom who would repeatedly write angry essays on my humor meta posts -- essays that were all about how belos is too evil to be sympathetic and/or about how hunter is a soft gentle boy who shouldn't be jokingly referred to as evil. then they'd go "i can't help my active and conscious decision to type a bunch of rude fucking words and then my active and conscious decision to send those rude fucking words because i'm autistic :(((" around the fourth or fifth time this happened, i was fucking done with that nonsense and finally blocked them. shoulda done it after the first comment tbh!! no more autism exceptions.

as for the rest of it, my main management strategy is to simply.... preempt the bad faith comments?

i had a LOT more unpleasant and conflict-filled fandom experiences when i was in the raven cycle fandom. that was my first exposure to "you can't ship multi-gender polycules if anyone involved is gay" and "queerplatonic het relationships are just heteronormativity shipping that you're trying to get away with." having dealt with those takes before, i've found a few different ways to disarm bad faith readers before they get started.

first is to be super open and honest about my interests. i talk about what i find compelling in different relationships All The Damn Time. it's really hard for anyone to accuse me of only wanting hunter to fuck amity if they've seen, like.... anything i've said about hunter and amity.

same with hunter and luz. the only negative reactions i've really gotten to how they're written in the princess AU is like.... two people being squicked by camila thinking they're romantically involved. i REALLY expected more pushback on the touchyfeely bed sharing stuff, but from what i remember, there's never been Any....? not even from people who consider them siblings.

i expected a lot of pushback on how mean hunter and amity are to each other, since it's taken So much farther than the canon. but it turns out that there's a very large overlap between people who like dark horror AUs and people who like hunter and amity murdering each other. (in a fluffy fic i don't think this characterization would fly Nearly as easily.)

i find that being funny really disarms people, too. when you look at any of my toh meta posts that could be controversial, they're basically all funny. people are a lot more willing to listen to what you have to say if you make them laugh, and it's harder for them to get angry at you.

and then the last thing is that i think i'm in sort of a privileged position in toh fandom. i've written a lot of controversial subjects and relationships and characterizations.... but i've also written some WILDLY popular mainstream fic. and people who like the mainstream fic don't really want to beef with me about differing niche opinions, bc there's a level of respect there. which they might not have for a writer they don't like.

but anyway. when things Do happen, i almost always just block and move on. there are so many people here who get what i'm talking about that there's no need for me to try to convert people who don't, you know??

#also the 'making a character of color an empress is problematic' thing made me laugh aloud #as for THAT... i don't think i've ever been accused of racism in how i write luz (or camila or raine or darius or hennessy for that matter)#i'm obviously imperfect and have blind spots as a white writer. but i also like to think i do my due diligence #at the Very Least i have Black and latine friends willing to sensitivity read for me & i've gone to native spanish speakers for camila's #dialogue. etc. if anyone has a take that's THAT bad faith about how i write women of color i'm just gonna uh.....#assume that what they really mean is that they want me to write white boys exclusively.#and well. i will not be doing that!#replies #toh #princess luz au #long post #if there are typos in this i apologize. i was out again all day and i am Le Tired

So, I love hearing about why favorites are favorites! Why are Wind and Time your die-for favs?

THANK you for the ask <3

For Wind, I think I first played Wind Waker exactly when I joined the LU fandom properly, and oh my god, I LOVE Wind Waker. It genuinely had such a big impact on me on the first playthrough (and does to this day), and I was still going through all the emotions when I was reading LU and starting to engage with the fandom.

Wind has such a good story in Wind Waker, and I could write an essay about it tbh but I'll save it for another time. I also absolutely adore how he is written in the comic; I think it's perfect. He has the immaturity you'd expect from a 13 year old boy, such as not always being the most tactful, jumping straight into situations without Fully considering them, and having some quite strong almost black-and-white opinions on complicated topics (see the Kings of Hyrule comic). But you can also leverage all of those criticisms at the other boys who are supposedly older and wiser than Wind LOL. What makes him great is how his younger age and strong personality also give him a completely different point of view. Despite having gone through a certain amount of shit on his journeys, he's still optimistic and hopeful for the future and he's fiercely passionate in protecting those he loves... What can I say. He's just a good lad. I honesty feel this messy collection of words doesn't even do him justice.

As for Time, it's sort of opposite reasons? The story of his games and his outlook on life is a bit darker than Wind's. Time has been through so much, and was a broken man for a while... and yet he is the one who has the happily married, domestic life a lot of the boys deep down want. He made it! And it's just so wonderful to see a character like that, one hardened by his experiences but still able to get a happy ending.

And yet. The potential to angst him is still tremendous. We have the Hero's Shade, which many speculate could mean he dies when the kid(s) he has with Malon are still very young. There's the Fierce Deity Mask. The Ocarina of Time. His negative opinions about the Master Sword and the bitterness he's still holding onto. Not to mention all the stuff he went through in the past and has recovered from but you could still explore... Even though Time has this happy life now, he's still such a great complex character to break into. God writing this just reminded me of the massive Time Analysis Glau (Glaucus_Atlanticus) wrote. I don't know where to find it anymore though :(

One last thing as well is that Time and Wind's interactions are also great. I think Time sees a lot of himself in Wind; Wind was forced to defeat Ganondorf young, just like him. But UNLIKE him, Wind hasn't lost everything. He didn't lose his childhood, he has a family, he doesn't have to say goodbye to his home forever. And Wind is obviously doing a lot better in many ways than Time probably was aged 12/13, which is pretty self-explanatory as to why (TERMINA). And seeing that makes Time very happy, it's clear from the way Time interacts with Wind in the comic. But there is still angst potential with Time being the hero who 'abandoned' Wind's world... it's good shit!

To cut a long story shit they're both great and I need to write more fics of them both.

Lucifer

Tbh not really a teacher vibe more like a principal or vice principal vibe

He's pretty strict what can I say?

Or maybe that substitute teacher that was way to harsh on everyone

But if he HAD to be a teacher I feel like maybe a math teacher or history teacher

I actually feel like he could teach multiple subjects but math and history stick out to me the most

I think he could be that type of teacher that actually engages with his students and gets them into doing their work

Or rather scares them into doing their work-

He's definitely strict though no matter what position he takes

Mammon

I feel like this man would be an economics teacher

He could be good at subjects if he wanted to

And he's definitely versatile in them too

So I think he would be a fun economics teacher

He would likely keep his kids engaged by telling them a story that relates to what they're doing or learning in class at that moment

But sometimes he would tell stories so he doesn’t seem like a bore or look old

He'll also probably give them tips that he learned by himself or his brothers (if they felt like sharing)

He'd be a good teacher because when it comes down to money suddenly he's a genius and an expert

Would want him as my economics teacher

Leviathan

Is this even necessary??

We all know this guy knows his way through technology

He coups himself in his room to sit at his computer to play games or watch anime

I feel like he would fit into computer science or digital art

Would be the type of teacher to make his kids to work his way

Likely a little uptight but it's okay since he'll make it up by having easy extra credit

The extra credit being a short essay on one of his favorite animes or why Henry is the best character to exist

Something along the lines of that-

Satan

English teacher is obvious but I feel like history would suit him too

Maybe even science?

As an English teacher he would make his kids write essays on a topic of a book he assigned purely because he loved it so much that he felt the need to make others read it

His students probably would learn to love some books since he reads everything he can get his hands on and shows it to them

If he gets a rowdy student in his class or a trouble maker don't worry because they'll be obedient after Satan takes them aside

If Satan gets the role as a history teacher be prepared because he'll just go on and on rather than shortening it

Would definitely drag things out because he would be so engrossed in them

Asmodeus

This is kinda hard-

I guess health ? maybe psychology?

I feel like he enjoys teaching others about their body and their mind

And what's healthy for them

(Asmo baby I'm sorry but this is difficult)

He would definitely give them tips on how to be aware of others around them and how to read a room

Would teach students how to be respectful and responsible in different ways so their lives wouldn't be as difficult when the times comes

Beelzebub

His is pretty straightforward

He's a P.E teacher

Would try and get his students to be more active and will try to get them to take care of themselves

Would also give them tips when or if they finally decide to try his exercises

You know? Like the basic, "Try to do it this way because it'll hurt if you do it that way."

I feel like his students would feel more comfortable around him so they can joke with him

Even if he's a little quiet and can seem intimidating we all know he's a sweetheart

Beel would be that one really cool teacher we all had at some point

Belphegor

I think he would be a type of elective teacher

Or maybe an assistant teacher?

Maybe to Simeon and Barbatos, we all know he loves Beel the most but I'm not gonna make him suffer through physical exercise

I feel like he would be the teacher to put rowdy brats down cause I think some students would take advantage of Simeon's kindness and Barbatos' patience and large class size

But I also but him as assistant teacher because I can't find something that'll suit him well

As much as he loves slacking off he will help students who need it and can't get the other teacher to help them at the moment

These keep getting shorter oh no

Would be annoyed at first by the kids but since they kept pestering him he caved in and started to enjoy their presence after a bit

Type of person who hates babies and toddlers but likes older kids because they can take care of themselves better and don't make as much noise

Diavolo

Wouldn't be a teacher but the principal, but not a scary one but a cool one that other's are attracted to

As scary as he looks, he loves kids and enjoys taking care of them

If one of the teachers couldn't find a substitute teacher he would immediately offer to take care of their class

People, not just students, love him

He's social, responsible, dependable, and charming

Like what else do you want?

Though when someone does need to be punished and they have to deal with Diavolo

They're never gonna talk about what happened to them with him

When he's not having to punish kids for being brats he's gonna be the coolest person

Barbatos

I'm gonna say culinary class/home economics

He would teach the biggest class because its helpful and fun

So he would have 2 teacher assistants

Luke and (sometimes) Belphie

Would teach everyone in his class how to sew and cook

He would teach kids how to cook balanced and healthy food

And he would let Luke teach them how to bake sweets and basic deserts

This duo would be so powerful in the kitchen

He would also make Belphie help those who are having trouble with minor things

Barbatos as a teacher would be so patient

I feel like he could also be a vice principal to Diavolo

Solomon

A science teacher of some sort

He would probably scare the kids at first with his crazy ideas and experiments

Like terrify and scar them

“Yea my science teacher started multiple fires and taught us how to make explosives”

But he would then make his kids ease themselves into the same exact stuff

So now not only is Solomon a danger hazard

So are like 30 other kids

His classroom would constantly smell of something

Not even he knows what it is

Also his classroom has had the most fires in it than any other class

Or school

Has many stories of himself and students getting hurt in ridiculous ways

Scares the faculty and children because he and his kids are menaces

Simeon

Simeon gives me music or art teacher vibes

He would love people's creativity being manifested in peaceful ways

A bob ross type of teacher

If he decides to teach art then he would be patient with his kids and push deadlines back for them

I feel like he would have a ton of people wanting his class but he takes the best and up and coming artists

A few of his students have probably because famous or had a hit song or artpiece

The faculty can't tell of they love or hate him

He's too positive and bright sometimes but they also adore him because of it

The only people that hate or dislike him either haven't met him or envy him

He also probably has a fanclub or some type of organization rooting for him

Luke

Likely a type of assistant teacher or an older student

Either way he would get the best grades ever so teachers don't mind if he's out and about

He would assist Barbatos or Simeon with their classes

And he would teach and learn a few things from both teacher's and their classes

(He is kinda hard to write for me)

Teachers probably love him because he's a model student and actually enjoys teaching others

Students love him sm, but there’s definitly people who don’t but won’t say a word

Because if they did, they would go missing for a few days.

one of the series i've recommended recently to the 12yo i babysit was the 5th wave by rick yancey. and she loved it so much that she chose to write her longass literary essay for school on the last book. unfortunately she was having a bit of a hard time figuring out a main topic, something to tie all these phenomenal quotes about humanity together. so the other day she handed me my own copy of this book with all her little tabs sticking out the side and asked me to help her find connections. we spent the rest of the evening just getting so excited about symbolism and message and what defines humanity and how the main character's ending tied it all together, and my 12yo actually ended up crying at her desk because of how beautiful it all was.

anyway, today she showed me the outline she made in class for this essay and how she's going to use the nine quotes she chose and how she's threading it all together. she kept saying she couldn't have done it without me. and she said that she's changed her mind from two days ago (when admittedly she was also in a depressive mood) when she said she despised literary essays, and she might actually love them now!

and ... i don't know i just. i love literature. i love the way it ties us together across generations and i love the conversations that can come from it. i love that, even if i'm not in school right now, even if my english major wasn't even about literature, i still get to do this shit every day. like we may not be writing proper literary essays, but my 12yo doing this assignment on a ya book i loved so much in high school, focusing on the themes and the intricacies, pulling quotes and being gutted by them, the way it all felt so natural.. made me realize just how cool it is that we still get to do that in fandom. we're still writing analyses about books we loved when we were twelve. we just do it for ourselves now. and for our friends. and i think that's what made the difference for my kiddo tbh, what made her realize how fun writing a literary essay like this could be. it's not about the teacher at all. it's about you and the book and humanity.

7. What inspired the idea for the plot?

Honestly? I have a soft spot for "person arrives in a small town and has their life turned upside down (for the better) by a stranger" romance stories. That and a random morning when I started posting off the cuff ideas on this blog about a metalhead Shadowheart AU over coffee. But those romance stories always have really funny, contrived concepts tied to them. Usually they're holiday-oriented. I don't like those holidays, so I thought... what could I do? What if I just combined my goofy post with my love of that type of story? What if I could write a bunch of metal references instead of holiday references? Plus, personifying Shar makes what she does to Shadowheart even more awful and sadly realistic. Not that you particularly need to be realistic in fiction - after all, there's elements of magical realism in that fic - but it definitely helped to focus on the themes.

15. Was there anything you had to research for this fic? Do you usually do a lot of research?

I don't care about cars at all, so writing anything about Ash's mechanic gig is where most of my research goes tbh. I've got tons of personal experience playing in shitty bands, so I can just draw endlessly on that for those parts lol. Thankfully, I've been able to skim past the mechanic specifics and just kinda let things work themselves out. I did a bit of research on terminology and parts, and I've got a doc full of jargon that I can use just in case. Typically, I do a fair bit of research for my writing. But it depends on the topic. A lot of folks limit their 'research' to checking Wikipedia, but to me it means that I went and bought a specialized book/got a book from a library, listened to any freely available lectures on the topic, and went down a weeklong rabbit hole of specialist forums, etc. I do that for things like religion, women in the Middle Ages, and pre-modern technology though lol. Why else would I have a book of essays on Italian Renaissance interior design?

IM SAYING LIKE they served so much cunt with the 2021 halloween fits and we went mostly downhill from there, could we perhaps get your thoughts on the rest of the set too, maybe which were your fav and least fav ones? 🥺👉👈 i could write a whole essay on them tbh i swear im normal about them

the halloween fits truly were everything. with the bunny fits one of the only events where looking at the bottom parts only made me break out in sweats half the time.

i'm not necessarily gonna rate them, but i'll give my thoughts.

so let's start

lucifer

solid outfit. the hat i'm okay with since it doesn't look like it's got a life of its own (hat that shall not be named). the zipper shoes however need to go, the white is not giving and certainly a choice for an almost all black outfit. even in white they'd look way better as dress boots with laces.

also love how they somehow managed to give lucifer even more pieces of clothing than usual, unquestionably a skill.

anyway i can't really complain about the outfit bc the card was drawn by the dilf hair lucifer artist. i forgive all mistakes for that.

mammon

it's giving shady vendor it's giving Dr.Facilier with the colour scheme. maybe a bit questionable that he isn't wearing any socks but. it's the horror outfit so maybe that checks out. i personally would've replaced the tie with a bunch of necklaces and have given the man some damn socks. i'd always give mammon at least 60% more jewelry in general that man should be dripping in it.

for me this one is the least exciting one out of the bunch, but i still like it.

leviathan

the jason mask??? the boots?? hands down this is one of the only times i am in love with obey me brand shoes bc these look GOOD (maybe it's just the obey me church stompers trauma talking). love love love the coat and i am also weirdly okay with the brown pants since they match the dried blood on the coat. the gloves are a bit unnecessary though.

satan

i both love and have my beef with this outfit. when i saw the dress i almost flipped my phone because finally!! the devs let a charcter aside from asmo be a bit more feminine looking! then i saw the bottom and went. hmmmm. i think i just don't like that he's wearing both a dress and dress pants (that have buttons on the side. ew) combined? i genuinely think the outfit would've been more cohesive if they either leaned more into the feminine side (dress closed a bit further down, tights, boots with a higher heel) or the more androgynous side (corset with lacing in the center, dress as more of a blouse, high waisted pants, bottom of the dress if kept more like an overskirt?)

asmo

he's perfect, he's beautiful, he looks like linda evangelista, he's a model

no questions asked. perfection. the spider theme/black widow theme is so fucking perfect for him. also the placement of the blood on his hands and sleeves? casually going insane over him they did him so well. definitely my favourite out of them all.

belphie

i would've loved the outfit even more if they'd given him a skirt instead of his little short shorts. maybe not a visually appealing one but definitely an amusing one.? like yeah it's ugly but yeah i also like it because it's silly.

for a beel outfit? god tier. man always has to suffer from boring outfit syndrome, but this one is good as long as you keep your eyes trained on the upper part. the devs shortly released him from the yas girl give us nothing basement. we do not talk about the ginormous clown stompers on his feet though. it looks less camp than belphie's nurse outfit and i'm here for it.

Studyblr re-intro!

Hiya! I'm Mai (she/her) - I created my studyblr years ago to hold myself accountable for being productive and not slacking off with my studying. But I've not touched this account in years now so that's about how well that's gone.

I'm twenty one years old from the UK, and I'm in my second year of an English Literature degree. I can't lie, part of the reason I evaporated off your dashboard is because uni's been really hard. There are more tears, procrastination, breakdowns over the uncertainty of the future, hours scrolled through tiktok, stress meals eaten, and feelings of complete and utter displacement than I think people on studyblr let on. Going forward, I think I'm going to try to be more authentic (cringe sorry) and maybe that'll make me want to post more and in turn (we can only hope) be more productive.

I've also been trying to learn French since Lockdown, but am very much still a beginner (can just about order a meal), so if any langblr people wanna be friends I'm down to follow each other on Duolingo :) I say this but I've not been on Duolingo since the summer.

You all are the ones always saying you're such big critical thinkers, yet someone comes and spells it out real slow for you over and over and you still miss the point. This is why nobody is afraid of you or even takes you seriously, you're so fucking constantly stupid.

If you had to write whump you hate but you could after a certain word count twist it to something you like, do you think it would prove difficult?

i mean, likely yeah. but the best thing abt having my little blog where i do whatever i want is that i never have to do that :) i can just write what i like forever :D because yeah writing smth im not 100% enjoying is hard and honestly pointless. it wont be as good as when im enjoying it, and this is not fucken university for me to write essays on topics i dont care abt😭 this is my fun happy place

tbh the more i write the more i refuse to write anything im not passionate abt. as soon as i realise the writing is going slow i just switch gears and either restart the scene somewhere else, or change it entirely. i never try to push thru any hurdles bc im like...why should i. im sure thats different for book writers but i just do little drabbles so theres no issue of having to connect stuff either

speaking of school tho, i got a lot of creative writing assignments where i was like. ugh. boring! but i didnt wait until any word count. i just immediately switched over to smth vaguely related but more enjoyable.

once we got "how would you survive on a deserted island" and everyone went on long rambles abt crafting axes and shit. my essay was literally "i wouldnt and heres why" then proceeded to write at length abt how i'd get torn apart by wild beasts if i didnt die of dehydration first
