It is more of a talk-heavy prompt than a plot one - a setup for 'Hunter adores Luz' can be canon during-timeskip Amity starting a conversation with him with the hope of understanding why Luz (again) hid stuff from her (I like this setup because Hunter can also start praising Amity if she then starts sharing some self-deprecating thoughts about herself as a girlfriend)

big fan of lilith feeling vaguely uncomfortable and anxious and maybe just the tiniest bit resentful about hunter and luz, without being able to quantify to herself Why. she definitely has a similar resentment toward hunter as her canon self & i can ABSOLUTELY see that being rooted in "oh, so you're the perfect sibling, you do everything right, the princess just LOOOOVES you, as if it's soooo fucking difficult to entertain a CHILD, you've done SOOOO much for the castle" while, like. having absolutely no idea how to entertain children herself & being the kind of person who'd throw hands if asked to babysit.

i've only consumed five volumes of dunmeshi right now so my opinion may evolve but currently my read on laios sexuality-wise is that he's unbelievably horny but Exclusively in problematic ways. i know based on dashboard osmosis that there's a popular read of him as ace but very into non-sexual kink, which i find delightful even if i don't share it, and i also know that the Funniest interpretation of him is, like.

"actually, none of this is a kink thing. this guy has never thought about sex in his life. what he has going on is so much freakier and more difficult to quantify. what is his deal"

......but truly.... in my heart of hearts.... i believe that in a modern all-human AU, laios would be a switch who hangs out in queer kink clubs and is an extremely sought-after dom because of how down he is to do Anything, and how he seemingly has Zero limits, and how attentive and enthusiastic he is during any given scene, and how endlessly creative he is.

but then he ends up feeling lonely despite the popularity because when he wants to sub, it's very very very difficult to find anyone who is willing to take the risks that laios wants to take, unless they get to know him better first, or there are legal waivers involved, which is difficult because laios has zero social skills nor any ability to control his infodumping. you know that post about subs screaming "PUT MY ASS IN THE CHILI" that's laios except about like. ANY scene that could cause grievous injury if there's even the slightest accident but "i think it would feel really nice :) i don't mind if i break my neck :)"

he's incredibly earnest and has to learn through trial and error which fantasies are mainstream enough to bring up to basically any random club-goer, versus which fantasies he should pretend to be.... just a Little mortified by. as, like, part of the social contract.

anyway. i'm pretty sure too much plot and drama and murder-horror is gonna get in the way for this to happen, but there's a canon divergence in my head where falin and laois get into a huge shouting match not long after this high-stakes harpy fight because laois is like "if you hadn't saved me then I'D be the one with the sickass harpy form, i can't believe you let yourself get eaten and you DON'T EVEN HAVE A VORE KINK" and falin is like "......YOU ARE AN INSANE PERSON??? I'D TELL YOU TO GO TO HELL IF YOU WOULDN'T THINK IT'S HEAVEN.....??"

(also it being a slog is not a reflection of the quality. i love so much how much thought and engineering is put into the worldbuilding, i love stories that are built around an author asking questions and coming up with wild answers. it was just Outside My Wheelhouse. u know.)

okay so i have ended up reading dungeon meshi. the first bit was sort of a slog despite being technically superb bc of how i have no particular interest in manga or dungeon video games or cooking. however i'm partway thru vol 5 now and just needed to pop in here to say that -- probably to no one's surprise -- chilchuck is My Guy.
