Cheetu
No one talks about this stupid annoying speedster.
Cheetu's ability and personality make a really really interesting point about nen types that I haven't seen anyone really bring up.
First, lets establish a few things.
When Gon is training with Bisky, and surpises her with his emission ability, she comments that he must be an enhancer closer to an emitter than transmuter. This indicates that nen type is not a single solid type with no bleed over, and people have different kinds of predisposition even within their own type. I would assume that this also means Gon is better at conjuration than manipulation.
While testing for traps and figuring out the Hei-Ly family, the spiders mention that teleportation is generally an emissive ability.
Hisoka mentions as part of his type guide that emitters tend towards ranged abilities.
Furykov has some guidelines for identifying nen users and their types, and he explains that conjurors tend to leave their dominent hand free because their abilities will use it.
Okay. Establishing out of the way. Lets talk about Cheetu's abilities.
Cheetu's primary ability we're going to call Tag. When he touches a target, they teleport with him to a mini-savannah. Cheetu then explains that the target must touch him before time is up, and start the 8-hour timer. We do not know what happens if they don't catch Cheetu, but we know that if they do, he loses use of the ability.
Cheetu's second ability, we're going to call Emergency Crossbow, is him conjuring a claw+crossbow on his hand.
Okay, established nen stuff and Cheetu's ability. Where the fuck is this going?
My hypothesis is that Cheetu is a mix of a conjuror and an emitter.
Bisky's comment proves that even with a primary type, nen users can be caught between two type: but my theory goes further, that these types do not have to be next to each other (like emission and enhancement are)
Hisoka's personality test says that conjurors tend to plan and emitters tend to be impatient. This is a perfect description of Cheetu. He has a plan- trap you and make you play tag, but its hastily made, he clearly didn't think his own ability through.
Finally, Emergency Crossbow includes key elements from common conujuror and emissive abilities; its a ranged ability [emitter] involving his dominent hand [conjuror]. Additionally, like Tag, this ability is an impatient plan, Morel makes a great point asking why he has an ability that's slower than him, and closing the distance to use its claws also ends up being a mistake.
Now, to earn that spoiler tag.
The value of scientific theories is determined by their predictive power.
So lets run an experiment.
Tumblr media
This is Matvere.
He is one of Morena's "players" and is focused, at present, on killing Hinrigh. He is, like many of Morena's crew, kind of an insane person. He is level 21 with morena's ability and has gained nen.
When two members return from fighting hinrigh and ask for an emitter, he immidiately volunteers even though he is a conjuror. He explains he was hoping to be an emitter.
My hypothesis is thus: Matvere, like cheetu, is a Conjuror/Emitter and his ability will feature several of the follow:
- use of Dominent Hand
- Ranged
- Mostly a conjuror ability with small emitter elements
- Solve the problem directly in front of him
I believe that mixed nen types are a thing evem across the nen chart

⸢I don't know whether you're a suitable guy for this 'three methods' or not, but at the least, I'm sure of this one thing.⸥ The following words were eerily similar to a certain body of text that I was familiar with. ⸢The you reading this story will definitely make it out of here alive.⸥ Han Sooyoung's afterwords came to an end there. For the longest time, I couldn't tear my eyes away from the full-stop at the end of the sentence.
Yeah, okay, at this point I feel like it's almost blatant that Sooyoung is the author of TWSA and the longer I think on things, the more I'm honestly ashamed that I never thought of this theory before now. I guess I was too focused on it being Dokja or Secretive Plotter...who might also be Dokja lmfao...and as a result just kind of ignored the very obvious possibility right in front of me.
Like, I recently started to think that Han Sooyoung is the author mainly because of the fact that we've still got three unknowns left and what looks to be three protagonists of ORV, i.e. Joonghyuk, Dokja, Sooyoung >>> Secretive Plotter, Oldest Dream, The Author. And, thinking on it, a general novel also has three people doesn't it? Writer, Reader, and the Character(s).
And also because Sooyoung's "Predictive Plagarism" is…interesting. She can plot out an entire novel whereas Anna Croft can only use her Future Sight three times a day in very specific ways? Hmmm. Not to mention this power carried her forward all the way to the 1863rd round and the only thing to mess up her plans at the very end was Dokja showing up. Dokja…who can create revisions of TWSA with his actions.
Even Sooyoung herself says that her predictions could be wrong, but even if you take it in the opposite direction and take them to be definite futures, we have this:
Now originally, the [Predictive Plagiarism] was the 1863rd-turn Han Sooyoung's power. The Han Sooyoung of this turn, the one responsible for writing this book, also had acquired that power now. And the result of that was this very book. Here was the brand-new signpost for me to follow, me who had read the 'Ways of Survival'.
I mean, it's possible that she straight up wrote TWSA (and/or the Revisions) with Predictive Plagarism and then forgot. Or that she's so good at predicting what will happen because she's literally the author so of course she knows how her own mind works.
And now she's literally directly mirroring TWSA and calling Dokja her sole reader despite literally immediately before that talking about both Dokja and Joonghyuk. So why is Dokja her sole reader? Why wouldn't she assume Joonghyuk might read it? Might also read it with Dokja? Not to mention Dokja just immediately devours it with a passion that he's only ever shown TWSA.
Also, I kind of glossed over it in one of my tags on a previous post, but Dokja got the Final Version immediately after wanting to ask Sooyoung if he's done a good job and if everything will turn out okay. Wanted to ask her as an author. And that's not the first time.
He's asked her before about TWSA, specifically why she would have written it if she wrote it. At the time, the way she responded to Dokja made me think he was the author but now, after seeing that Dokja can affect the course of the story both inside (revisions) and outside of it (comments to the author) plus everything shifting towards the idea of "the characters are going to make their own story" makes me think that was foreshadowing of an entirely different kind. And let's not even get started on this quote we just got:
The author of this scenario was Han Sooyoung. Regrettably, there was no guarantee of the work ending up as a success even if the author did an excellent job. – Time to start our attack, Yoo Joonghyuk. Because the ones to complete the story were the 'Characters', not the author, that's why.
Kind of sounds like the entire theme that we've been working towards for the whole plot, doesn't it?
And there's other clues, looking back.
Sooyoung always insisting she didn't plagiarize TWSA and Dokja even confirming that with Lie Detection. Sooyoung claiming that everything kind of pulls from each other & there's lots of common themes...and then we see that TWSA is full of other genres and very obviously referenced common tropes like isekai, reincarnation, mecha, battle tournaments, etc.
And then we have Asuka Ren writing Peace Land and then forgetting it and thinking it was something she read, which I have always thought was foreshadowing, though at the time I attributed that foreshadowing to Dokja. But more importantly, Asuka Ren getting discouraged because Peace Land wasn't doing well and breaking down and writing something else (Kyrgios) that was a bit more pandering to the general public. Almost makes you wonder if TWSA wasn't doing well and Sooyoung decided to write something else that took off...
And oh my goodness, I just went back to find the post to reference for the above and LOOK AT THIS WEBCOMIC PANEL! LOOK AT WHO'S LITERALLY IN FRAME WHEN ASUKA REN IS TALKING ABOUT "WRITER WHOSE WORK IS BEING READ BY A READER LIKE YOU." AHHHHHH.
That's actually so blatant I'm straight up ashamed of myself, especially when Dokja outright says he isn't the author, he's the reader. I actually remember thinking it was interesting that Sooyoung was there but figured "oh she's an author too." 🤦‍♂️
And there's other things too, some of which are admittedly more of a stretch than others.
Her attributes - not just the author attribute but also avatar. She can make and control multiple people. Kind of like an author writing a book, huh? Except then she's lost control of one of them because she put too much of herself in it (or vice versa). And now we have the novel where the characters are telling the story...
The huge emphasis on how gorgeous Joonghyuk is, not to mention various other characters' looks, which are compared to Joonghyuk's. Meanwhile, back in Peace Land again we have:
In the midst of running, Asuka Ren often looked back at the rocky area. Han Sooyoung glanced at Ren and asked, "Are you sorry?" "Huh? No." "Don't you feel that it is weird? It is probably the first time you saw a character that you made." "…Yes." "Furthermore, he is handsome."
Sooyoung not only focusing on how handsome Kyrgios is but tying that together with her statement about meeting a character who you created. Seems like that could potentially mirror someone else and their creation, hmm?
Also, on the topic of looks, I recently thought that maybe Dokja isn't from this dimension and that's why he looks blurred (because the Sooyoung of the other universe looked blurred too when speaking to "our" Sooyoung). But now I realize...there's no evidence at all that Sooyoung 1863rd doesn't also look blurred to the people of her world. And if we maybe consider that she's the original Sooyoung... What if both Dokja and Sooyoung are blurred to everyone but each other because they're both outside of this world as reader and author and the characters can't ever fully know what either looks like from inside the story?
Or, heck, I'm not certain we actually have proof that our Sooyoung isn't also blurred or that she sees Dokja as blurred? Like, sure, she calls him ugly but it's Sooyoung, plus that wasn't unprompted, Dokja was specifically asking about his looks and she kinda mocked/teased him. And there's even a scene in the Webtoon when he's dying of poison (the Nirvana arc) where she's like "he actually looks a little handsome" or something along those lines. Which I figured was worth mentioning because I remember thinking it was weird at the time but won't necessarily consider canon since it's the Webtoon and the novel is way more vague:
Like her, he was an ordinary person before the world was destroyed. Such a person had jumped onto a stage to decide the world's fate and was moving the main characters. Han Sooyoung had forgotten for a moment that Kim Dokja was also a normal human. She stretched out a finger and touched Kim Dokja's mouth. Then her face became a strange mixture of a smile and a frown. Han Sooyoung giggled. "…It is really strange."
...Actually that sounds vaguely foreshadow-y even without trying to decide if she can see his face or not.
And too we recently had the whole "which story will you vote for" thing going on where the dokkaebis are talking to each other. Now that we have at least two separate "versions" of TWSA going on I wonder if it's more along the lines of the author's version vs the reader's version?
idk I'll probably think of even more things if I continue reflecting on the novel, but this is long enough.
At this point idek what I'll do if Sooyoung isn't the author because it fits way better than my previous Dokja/Secretive Plotter theories and I was pretty certain at the time that it was definitely Dokja. 😂

I don’t know if you have already talked about this before but since you are the CHET theorist I wanted to ask because I have been thinking about it for a while: it’s the fact that we haven’t seen the cub react to Rayla? When she first gets it she literally holds it with her hands but it doesn’t glow, or when Stella has it in S4 (leading to the goofy theories of fake Rayla) it doesn’t glow either even tho it’s super close to her. Maybe my memory is falling but the only time we see it reacting to her is when Callum is playing with it. Why is the cub only reacting to her in that scene? A scene when HE specifically is holding it and she says “this doesn’t end well for you” like oh my god? The cub is not closer than her or Stealla holding it. Some people have pointed these as a animation mistakes but I doubt it, like it’s too on the nose. Maybe I'm overthinking but I needed to get it off of my chest.
Thank you in advance and have a nice week!
So when and why the cube glows is very inconsistent (after all, does the rune have to face what's making it glow, but then there are scenes where it's leagues away from pointing towards anything - 2x09's rune foreshadowing glow for Callum's sky arcanum) so I think that's mostly something operating on a "it works however we need it to work for said scene" on that level.
We don't see Rayla pick it up in 1x04 but when she holds and tosses it over to him in 1x04, it doesn't glow for her at all - so it doesn't glow at anything until Callum has touched and dropped it (which could be relevant, but we also see it glow for the Orphan Queen in 4x04's flashbacks, so it doesn't seem exclusive to him and can't be connected to blood line, at least, on that level either).
However I do actually have two analyses that may be interesting to you
1) The first is on Rayla's weird 'relationship' with the Key of Aaravos (being the character to find it, carry the game motif with it primarily in s1-s2 more than anyone else, the particularly ominous accompanying foreshadowing, and being the only character Callum discusses the cube with - other than Bait when Rayla isn't there - rather than his brother, even though Ezran is the Orphan Queen's direct descendant). It was written pre-S4 so it doesn't include arguably the most Important scene we have thus far with this connection (Rayla showing up with the cube on her shoulder) but I've waxed enough speculative poetics about that scene elsewhere that you can probably get the complete picture.
2) A decidedly more unhinged meta analyzing the rune placement in scenes with the cube (all current scenes since it was S1-S4) that also leaned into the prediction of Aaravos being freed (ergo his prison being found) / Callum doing dark magic in S5 precisely because of rune placement so like, there may be something to it?
Other meta that is less specific to Rayla's weirdness with the cube but still talks about foreshadowing / analysis regarding the Key (all of which were published before S5 so there might be some things that aren't talked about accordingly)
My Key of Aaravos tag in general
Why the Key Might Hold a Quasar Diamond: Egyptian Mythology Edition
The Technical Followup: Why the Key Might Hold Aaravos' Chest Piece
Aaravos' View of Children and What It Might Mean for the Key
2x08 or What the Fuck is Up with the Key's Opposing Symbolism (aka the weirdness of Harrow encouraging Callum to refuse a gift Harrow gave him like, 1.5 episodes prior)
Possibilities on the use/ownership of the Key being joined between Ezran and Callum for the Karim-Janai-Kim'Dael's debt freedom parallels

Thoughts on the Latest Archon Quest...
Aka why Neuvillette is the best boy, a stan's Essay...
Tumblr media
⚠️MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ARCHON QUESTS AND STORY QUESTS⚠️
>>>TDLR at the end
Tags: Rambling, long post, not really an essay, but just want to say a few things, idk will this make sense, I can't write essays this just a word vomit.
Please note that this is just MY opinion. I am not here to slander, theory craft, or be in an argument. I just want to give my two cents and thoughts about this game and the story.
══════════════════
I have recently got back to Genshin mainly due to Furina. I actually like everything about her, from her colours to her characterisation. The lastest Archon Quest solidifies her as one of my favourite Genshin characters.
Firstly, I want to talk about Fontaine's plotline as a whole, how everything ties up together on the end. Then, why I find Neuvillette such an endearing character through out the arc.
Previously, after going through Sumeru's Archon Quest, which; I find it more enjoyable and better written than Inazuma's arc, I had expressed my concerns regarding the AQ's plotlines in the Hoyo survey.
This concern feels a bit silly to type it out now after the fact, but during that time, at least to me, it felt like a main concern.
The main concern was about the over all theme of AQs: the people vs Archon. I fear that it would be overly used and recycled. That, it might get predictable, and what's the point of me continuing the quest if the story is basically, help people accept the archon, or help the archon accept the people.
In otherwords, if each nation has a unique crisis of their own, I personally would find it more engaging to continue and see.
In general, Fontaine did not disappoint.
Firstly, I want to say, I enjoy watching Tartaglia getting yeeted. Lol.
Tumblr media
As for the story, I think the pacing improved, although there are still some areas in the story that I think could be better. For instance the Fotress of Meropide arc, and the Spina arc. But, I think it has improved in terms of linking the events and foreshadowing something bigger for the grand finale at the last act.
Not to mention, the AQ seems to finally address, or acknowledge the anomlies of Teyvat, like the Descenders, Skirk, and a bit about Celestia.
It's not a lot, but enough for me to be satisfy. Because, in the past, these lore bits are just crumbs. And, now it feels like the actual agency/story is moving forward to something.
As for the story itself, I like the concept of the prophecy. For some reason, it reminds me of Noah's Ark with the flooding, punishment, and the flying ship in Meropide.
The prophecy aspect feels unique. Paired it with Furina, the archon who we all perceive as a stereotypical Marie-Antoinette-quese, and dramatic personality, to be incompetent in the time of crisis. I was at the edge of my seat to see how can she solve this problem.
Tumblr media
People might say, "Well, the traveller is going to help her, of course!" which brings me to my next point.
For once, the traveller feels powerless. A stark contrast to the usual, "Only the traveller can do this.", or "The traveller is so strong they can bring an end to this.", and I think this makes the stakes higher, more exciting.
Heck, most of the cut scenes show how the casts were the ones who take initiative to solve problems. Like, Clorinde and Wriothesley at Meropide, or Navia saving the traveller when the clockwork meka went haywire.
Overall the story felt like a roller coaster of emotions, packed with tension, mystery, and drama. The last act was just so bittersweet for me.
I love the moments between Focalor and Neuvillette. I think it kind of shows how much connection they both had through out those 400 years.
Tumblr media
Also, Focalor is really pretty!!!!??? Like, can this be a skin option?!
Tumblr media
In regards to Neuvillette, I am not here to do an expert character analysis, but to kind of just tell you how I interpret Neuvillette's character, and in what aspect did I enjoy him the most in the role of the story.
Do note that I play in the Japanese voice over, so the characterisation and interpretation is different than the English voice over.
Tumblr media
What I like the most about Neuvillette might be the fact, how simple his character is. If I were to boil down Neuvillette's core character it would simply be: benevolent.
His character is of a benevolent Hydro Dragon (I don't know can this statement be use to describe to his past self.) Not only to Melsuines, or to other people in general, but I also think it is how he sees the world.
Such as, his relationship with Furina, I actually think he's being very patient with her (Save for the trial, because everyone was desperate at that point). The time when he was ask how he would 'hunt' his 'prey', Neuvillette states he would use the most gentlest way as possible. Visiting Callas's grave after being confronted by Navia. Heck, this guy even goes out of his way to make the small talk just to not let Paimon feel awkward.
Despite how simple his characterisation is, it is also complex in a sense. In his SQ, we get to see how Neuvillette has his own concerns and issues settling in Fontaine. And, it is not soley his benevolence that is causing him the issue, rather, it was the circumstances that happened in the past, and how he interpreted the whole situtation and it's aftermath. I think the SQ did a good job in showing how complex he can get, if given the right conflict and situtation. *cough cough* we will not talk about a certain SQ *cough*
Tumblr media
I think the narration for his SQ did a good job in focusing on Neuvillette as a character, and the emotional side of him. I might be a little empathetic, with the cut scene and the information we learned, I was able to connect with Neuvillette emotionally by how well the cut scene wrapped up the story. I felt the melancholy and bittersweetness.
Whereas for Wriothesley's SQ, just to compare, it was interesting to say the least. But, I couldn't connect with him in an emotional level as I did with Neuvillette. And, I think if the Devs could just show a bit more vulnerability of Wriothesley's character (his past is the most interesting part about him.) it would be a better connection with the character, instead of info dumping about his past in the most anti-climatic way.
Tumblr media
I actually really enjoy Neuvillette's and Furina's relationship. As I said before, I find Neuvillette being extremely patient with Furina with her antics, despite he sometimes make comments on how she handle things, I still think he holds Furina close (Not in shipping way), after all it was her that gave him a place in Fontaine.
The part where Neuvillette finally meets Focalor, and knowing what was being set in stone; Neuvillette will regain all his original powers to end the crisis, and Focalor getting guillotined to get rid of the heaven principle's influence on Fontaine (I think Focalor is the only one, by far, was able to actually spite Celestia). That scene, I find, moving, and it really shook me, especially when Neuvillette made this expression:
Tumblr media
He might not be the most expressive character, but...gosh that expression conveys so much of his emotions.
My interpretations is: I don't think Neuvillette wanted Focalor to sacrifice herself, and felt there could be another way. There are so many things he wanted to say to her, and to even ask her.
But alas, he never got a chance to before Focalor was guillotined.
The more I write about this particular scene, the more questions and new possible interpretation comes to mind:
Why did Neuvillette feel upset when Focalor executed herself? If, essentially, she's a different "person" to Furina. Could this mean, regardless of Focalor and Furina, he still sees them both as one entity?
Who, or what, is he grieving (I interpret him as griefing in the admist of powering up) for? Was he grieving because he felt sympathy for what Furina and Focalor had to do?
Tumblr media
To be honest, I don't know, so I can't conclude an opinion. Maybe when he got a second act to his SQ, it could provide more insight for me to have an opinion.
But for now, I believe everything Neuvillette does comes from a good place in his heart even if it doesn't seem like it at the beginning. He could have got his power up and simply reclaim Fontaine and not care about the people, like Apep, but he didn't and chose to fillful Focalor's wishes. Even so, he still worries about Furina's well being after the fact.
After all that has been said of my impression of Neuvillette, I find his benevolence, and his lack of conventional human expression very endearing. I also enjoy how we began to gradually see him become more expressive. I enjoyed his relationship with Furina because they are kinda like a set, in my opinion, like a dynamic duo type of characters.
That being said, I hope the devs can continue with their good work, and I am excited to see what the Teyvat journey ahead would be like.
>>>
TLDR: Teyvat's Fontaine arc is nicely written. It has showcase improvements in regards of the overall story telling of the Archon Quests, such as pacing, flow, and themes. Although, there were a few parts of the story that I feel could have been done better.
It's nice that the story also finally addressed the anomalies of the Teyvat world (as they play a much bigger part), thus giving more information to the lore, and help to bring agency back to the main story.
In my opinion, Neuvillette is a greatly written character, and I enjoy his character throughout the Archon Quests. In my character study/writing perspective, Neuvillette's characteration, I find, is very interesting, and I couldn't wait to see more of his character in the future.
Thank you for reading of you made it this far!

the thing you mention in your tags on this post sounds very interesting if you'd be keen to talk about it!
The tags in question
#weird synchronicity I was just thinking about regularities in the regularities we use to sort our own cognition
I sat on this ask for a bit trying to see if I had anything cogent or at least coherent to say, but couldn't really, so I suppose I'll just dump some of stray bits and pieces I've been fumbling with.
This usage of "regularities" I stole from Andy Clark's Surfing Uncertainty, where he uses it to refer to the most broad, generic possible class of things that happen, that the brain can notice/capture/model/etc. No idea if this is some kind of standard in cognitive philosophy/neuroscience or if it's just something he picked for that book to make sure people didn't confuse it with some more specific ontological category or narrower understanding of some of the things collections of neurons do.
English (and presumably other languages) have a lot of different words for things that we experience ourselves doing internally. We think thoughts and have ideas and remember memories and imagine all kinds of things. We experience events and sometimes we experience ourselves noticing that we're experiencing an event and we remember those events and sometimes we construct as part of that memory experiencing the experience (whether or not we were actively noticing it at the time). We notice stuff, catch on to things. Come to understandings. Are confused. We consider objects and somehow also subjects. We model existence both explicitly and implicitly. Some of the "mental objects" that we use to represent reality internally are representations of first class, physical objects (a specific tree) sometimes the regularities across groups of physical objects (trees in general), sometimes a regularity in how things act (trees growing), etc, but sometimes the objects are strictly internal ones: concepts, memories, recalled sense impressions, associations, emotions.
All these myriad ways of carving up the reality of our experience of experience; what parts overlap and what parts don't even border, leaving a gap in what we can easily refer to? What is a high quality and yet simple model of how we model things?
I spend a lot of time considering the behavior of each of these regularities, trying to figure out where I might even start looking for regularities between them.
Sometimes when I recollect something it has a number of sensory associations that also become salient, and sometimes it doesn't.
Sometimes when I have an idea it seems to come in words, sometimes images, sometimes in some direct thing that feels concrete to me but that I cannot make explicit in the outer world and have to "translate".
Thinking is my special interest so I spend quite a lot of time mentally rotating mental rotation. (Why are abstract concepts are something I can do spatial reasoning to? Is this some kind of conceptual<>spatial synesthesia? Something that everybody does but doesn't talk about the way I do? Something that I've developed a specific capacity to, that anyone could if they found it useful? Is a lot of all human experience of interiority filtered through spatial reasoning, or is that something that varies between individuals?)
I feel like there's a solid chance this is a somewhat hopeless quest without a better understanding of the underlying physical phenomena that would let me better predict what sort of properties would be most useful to categorize my internal experiences, but I can't stop pondering and all my interest in the subject doesn't quite pay out in the will to chew through textbooks like like Cerebral Cortex: Principles of Operation.
My theory of mind (ability to model other minds) is telling me that to someone outside of my brain there's a solid chance this is mostly noise, words strung together to sound evocative but are ultimately vacuous. It all feels meaningful to me, even if some of the specific subjects are opaque, but meaning is just another thing the brain does, and may or may not pay out in something useful.
Thank you for the ask, I hope at least something in this screed sparked something in your own mind.

Welcome!
Hello there!! This is a blog where I get to be very excited about detective video games (alongside sometimes other detective media. as a treat), as well as talk/theorise about things that interest me! Asks are open and encouraged, and if you're interested in my art specifically or other socials then check out my main!
Tag system: #bunchat - casual posts/talking #bunthoughts - thoughts/theories on a particular game #bunplays - posts made about a game I've not finished #bunart - posts including my art
Below is a list of all the detective games I've played and plan to play in case you want to know what you can talk to me about! Feel free to chat about stuff that's not on the list too- I appreciate recommendations for new stuff, or it may be something I know about already! (films, books etc)
Tumblr media
Notable detective games I've played With a summary sentence + favourite character ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Dangaronpa series: Danganronpa Incredible concept and presentation, but found each case's twist easy to predict. Aoi Asahina Danganronpa 2 Improves on the original in many ways, and has the best case in the series, but the fanservice was a bit much. Sonia Nevermind Danganronpa V3 Presentation and character design the best in the series, but is held back a bit by the slow pace; I enjoyed the ending. K1-B0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The 999 series: 999 Stellar concept, stand out voice performance from Evan Smith, and a remarkably grounded atmosphere for an Anime Game (affectionate). Snake Virtue's Last Reward Takes the interesting meta concepts of 999 and runs with them for a truly one-of-a-kind narrative, although is let down slightly by a convoluted ending. K Zero Time Dilemma I have never seen a game go so downhill so quickly in its last 20 minutes; had a blast playing, but for all the wrong reasons. Carlos ------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Ace Attorney Series Ace Attorney A classic for a reason; one of the best in the series even when compared to later entries. Dick Gumshoe
Justice for All Would be solid if not part of a series of such high quality titles. Phoenix Wright
Trials and Tribulations Absolute standout of the series, with a final case that manages to capture the very best elements of Ace Attorney. Miles Edgeworth + Ron Delite
Apollo Justice Whilst by no means bad, for me it never really reached the highs of other titles in the series. Trucy Wright
Dual Destinies One of my favourites, with a self aware sense of humour that allows them to embrace the inherent silliness of Ace Attorney. Simon Blackquill + Bobby Fullbright
Chronicles My favourite games of all time; it's like someone set out to make a game specifically for me. Herlock Sholmes
Investigations 1 Decent game, and always nice to play as Edgeworth, but one of the worst offenders of the Ace Attorney "you can't present the banana peel until you present the banana!" type problem. Miles Edgeworth ------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Professor Layton Series Generally more puzzle than detective, but I feel like they count. It takes a couple of games for the series to find its footing, but from Lost Future (my favourite) onwards, it masters the balance between an engaging narrative/larger mystery and the puzzles. The puzzle design is generally excellent, with the exception of the Katrielle Layton games, where there is a notable degrade in their quality. Incredibly charming and approachable series. Emmy Altavia, Luke Triton, Hershel Layton, Katrielle Layton
Tumblr media
Return of the Obra Dinn Absolute exemplar of the genre which uses the medium to make you BE the detective in a way a film or book can't, presenting you with clues that require you to think out of the box to solve its tough but fair mysteries. Henry Evans
AI: The Somnium Files Pleasantly surprising and satisfying murder mystery game, with an incredibly likeable lead duo and cast. Mizuki
Ghost Trick Tight, engaging puzzles based on an interesting time-based premise are supported by excellent writing, characters and art direction; the animation is a particular underrated standout. Inspector Cabanela
Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright Although not the best of either series, Layton's gameplay works incredibly well in place of AA's typically lacklustre investigation segments.
The Sexy Brutale Groundhog day but with murder; an interesting premise and wider mystery coupled with tight puzzle design draws a flattering comparison to Ghost Trick. Trinity Carrington
Tangle Tower Excellent art, fun (fully voice acted!) characters and a decent mystery, sadly let down by a jarringly abrupt ending. Detective Grimoire
Aviary Attorney Ace Attorney but with birds; visually great, with some fun genre subversions, but I'm just not personally a huge fan of 'your choices matter' type detective games. Jayjay Falcon
The Room Series Sets out to do one thing, and does it well- good for those who are more interested in puzzles over narrative.
Her Story Interesting example of how allowing player agency in a detective game sets the experience apart from other mediums in the detective genre.
Unheard One I haven't heard people talk much about, and I don't know why; its audio-based method of providing clues is unique and interesting, and is a concept I would love to see explored further.
The Case of the Golden Idol Not as good as Obra Dinn, its clear inspiration, but fills that same role as a detective game that encourages lateral thinking; if you liked Obra Dinn, you'll like this.
The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog Was personally a little disappointed that deduction was done in the form of a platforming challenge instead of being allowed to present my own reasoning, but that isn't what this game was trying to be, and is instead carried by an impressive level of charm and a surprisingly great larger mystery. Tails
Tumblr media
Games I plan to play: AI: Nirvana Initiative (currently playing) Outer Wilds Loco-Motive The Spider of Lanka Frog Detective Shadows of Doubt Overboard Strange Horticulture Paradise Killer Mohism: Battle of Words Rusty Lake Hotel Your Turn to Die Methods: The Canada Files Darkside Detective ------------------------------------------------------------------------------Pagedoll by dianthus-alpinus

Another little thing
So, I found another thing that may be of interest.  I haven’t seen anyone talking about it, so here we go:
Now, the roaring.  In Ralsei’s explanation, we see what are (apparently) three titans:
Tumblr media
Notice their “faces.”  I’m pretty sure this has been pointed out, but it looks awfully familiar..
Tumblr media
(You’re filled with determination!)
Or perhaps?
Tumblr media
“Power?”
As far as I can tell, the distinction between “power” and “determination” has not be cleared up yet.  Regardless though...
Have you checked out some of the official merch?  In particular, a certain T-shirt (that Toby apparently designed with a ball point mouse?!)
Tumblr media
I’d zoom in, but I don’t think it’s necessary.  Again, look at the face.  It’s a little distorted (prolly cause Toby was drawing with a mouse), but doesn’t that look oddly similar to the Titans?  The shirt is called Stay Determined, which you can find on the Fangamer site.  Another link to determination!  However, I find the fact that this design element is not just used HERE for Asriel, but also for the Titans.  It’s one of those things that doesn’t seem to be a coincidence.
Now, what does that mean?  I dunno.  I know a lot of people who post these kinds of things like to make predictions, but I’m not really going that far. Obviously, you could draw some potential theories, but this is just a weird, tiny thing I wanted to point out, so I’m not doing major predictions.
It could be a link to Asriel, who is called “The G*d of Hyperde*th,” after all.  Or, perhaps its a link to “g*d-like” beings in general?  From what little we know of the Titans, they seems to possess incredible power. Thus, this could be a symbolic visual (the determination/power symbol on the face) that Toby is using to indicate “g*dlike” power, whatever that may end up meaning.  There’s certainly enough references to G*d, ang*ls, and the like in this game.  Or, as I said earlier, it could be some sort of Asriel link.  OR it could be both.
Or... maybe it’s nothing at all. :)
Either way, I just figured I’d point it out.  I only poke into the DR tag every once in a while, so feel free to let me know if this has already been discussed!

Predicting the rest of the MHA series generally a.k.a. answering 14 asks in one go
The sheer volume of asks I’ve received in the last week asking about my predictions for future chapters, especially regarding Izuku and Katsuki’s future interactions since chapter 322 came out, has been honestly astounding.
So let me give y’all a blueprint for my answers, and then you can go search for your own question below the cut.
Premise: Everything since the war arc has been parallel to the events of the series until now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The latest arc is full of parallels to prior moments in the series.
The war arc is just Katsuki Bakugou Origin all over again.
The goal to save Shigaraki visually parallels elements of the mission to rescue the kidnapped Katsuki from the Kamino arc as well as the symbolic imagery in their childhood like the bug-catching and the pond.
Shouto’s goal to save Dabi resembles elements of his sports festival match against Izuku.
There’s that whole resemblance between Katsuki and the second OFA user.
The conversation Izuku and All Might have with Inko in the hospital is a continuation of their post-Kamino parent-teacher conference.
Endeavor’s late arrival to save Deku due to the weather was foreshadowed in the Endeavor Agency arc.
Izuku leaving All Might resembles both his encounter with All Might in chapter 1 and the rescue of Katsuki in the Kamino arc.
Chapter 318 resembles the sludge villain incident of chapter 1.
Chapter 319 calls back to Deku vs Kacchan Part 0.
Everyone’s attempts to reach Izuku in chapters 320-322 reference prior events, such as Mineta’s admiration of Izuku’s spirit during the USJ arc.
Katsuki’s chapter 322 apology calls back to the Endeavor Agency arc as well as key moments in Deku vs Kacchan, Part 2 (and potentially calls forward to more future events.)
Ochako’s trial foreshadowed at the end of chapter 322 calls back to the sports festival, the Overhaul arc, and the Joint Training arc.
Basically, it’s like the last few chapters have been an accelerated summary of the rest of the MHA story that came before it. We just got a crash course in everything from chapter 1 through the Kamino arc (and maybe even a bit more).
You wanna know what happens next? I imagine all you have to do is look backward.
We’ll probably get one last school-centric arc, though the light-heartedness of it is questionable at best
Deku vs Kacchan 3 comes after that
Then the final arc (read as: something like the Overhaul arc)
There could be more mini-arcs in there than those, but given what we generally know about how much of the story is left, those seem like the gimme arcs that remain.
Okay, anons, come get yours.
Tumblr media
It would be the best-case scenario for Ochako’s character arc to go in that direction. I don’t think she’ll be taking on this task alone, however. That’s just a little too unbelievable. I think she’ll have help...
Tumblr media
We got a few callbacks to the Stain arc, but I don’t know how much that’ll come back. The important parts remaining are Stain’s admiration of All Might now coming face-to-face with what All Might has become in retirement. I think Stain had such a big influence on society that it’s very likely he’ll be useful again in this regard. All Might and Stain both are marked as charismatic figures that shaped society into what it had become and is currently becoming.
If they are in the car together, they could be on their way to UA. They could end up backing up Ochako as she tries to talk down the mob. Hell, Hawks could even be in the car with them. We could have a tag-team effort in getting the mob on the side of the heroes again.
Or maybe Ochako and Hawks fly everyone back into UA campus over the mob lol.
Or even better: maybe the upcoming potential school-centric arc challenges the mob to live as the heroes do. Maybe they will get a taste of the UA curriculum and develop an appreciation for what the student heroes go through. Maybe we’ll get Literally Everyone vs. Izuku or Class 1-A. That’d be...something.
Tumblr media
Hell yeah, REALLY soon, if my skeletal theory holds up. I mean, Horikoshi wouldn’t just mention them and never deliver on that. We even got the hint after the remedial course that the schools were talking about linking up for future joint training.
Shit, Shishikura meeting Stain re: the above answer?  H e l l   y e a h.
Tumblr media
Never say never, my friend.
There are so many ways in which it can still happen.
The reason it couldn’t happen here, why I didn’t want it to happen here, is because it’s the wrong location.
Tumblr media
Don’t get me wrong: Kamino is close. Most of the major developmental moments between these two happen in urban landscapes (the exception being the forest/pond in their childhood). Even the final exam took place at Ground Beta.
At the very least, there has to be a road with painted lines.
(What’s that? Did I just imply something about the Endeavor Agency arc’s ending? I don’t know what you’re talking about.)
Tumblr media
Katsuki got tons of time to think post-Kamino. Hell, he even had a day to consider Izuku’s sudden quirk manifestation before their first combat training against each other. It only makes sense that Izuku will get his time to process before the true Deku vs Kacchan, Part 3 confrontation.
There are so many things such a confrontation could be about. Can Katsuki hold his own against Izuku, thus earning him a spot fighting alongside him as a team? Will Katsuki have even properly healed by this point? Will this be a contest of strength, or perhaps something else entirely? I love a good subversion, and an anticlimactic joke thrown in there for laughs? Horikoshi uses this trope in some of my favorite ways.
Tumblr media
Oh, you read my mind.
If Deku vs Kacchan, Part 3 is played straight, then Izuku has to prove he’s made OFA his own in order to defeat Katsuki.
I’ll just say this: How can Izuku possibly make the case that he’s made OFA his own if he hasn’t unlocked the Second’s quirk yet?
Shit, who has been at the center of just about every one of OFA’s quirk awakenings in the first place?
Motherfuckin’ Katsuki Bakugou.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DvK1 (in flashback):
Tumblr media
DvK2:
Tumblr media
It’ll be DvK3 for sure.
Either that or rescuing an exhausted, limb-shattered Izuku at the very, very end, lol.
Tumblr media
Katsuki has a tendency to be unconscious in the nurse’s office lol.
Though honestly: WHERE IS RECOVERY GIRL? WHY IS KATSUKI STILL INJURED?
I kinda like the idea that maybe he refused treatment until he could apologize to Izuku, actually.
Nah, like, that would go over well in fanfic, but Horikoshi doesn’t waste time. He clearly tries to get out of the slow scenes quickly, or at least his editors push him to do so. These two idiots? They talk best with their fists and high-capacity lungs. We gettin’ DvK3 for that one.
Tumblr media
@reaperhart
Again, I don’t think Katsuki necessarily needs a power-up.
He was still injured during Kamino. That’s why he couldn’t handle the speed that Iida’s body could take. And Katsuki has defeated All Might before, albeit with help (although honestly not THAT much as Izuku was pretty half-hearted in his participation).
And honestly, Katsuki could go into this as a team leader with class 1-A vs Izuku and I’d still count it. I still say class 1-A is Katsuki’s One For All.
But even by himself, if you give him time to heal? I think we’ve got a really exciting match on our hands.
Tumblr media
It already kind of had been. I do think there are still things to resolve though. I have said before that their relationship is appealing for how it changes literally every time we see them. There are still some feelings they need to air, particularly on Izuku’s side. Ultimately, the trajectory of their relationship is toward an easier friendship, probably a strong teamwork/nakama dynamic being the safest assumption. Are we at the full resolution yet? God I hope not. Their drama is much too fun.
Tumblr media
In Japan, switching the name you call someone is kind of a big deal. It’s a huge acknowledgement in the shift of a dynamic. I think the use of “Deku” and “Kacchan” as nicknames has been a narrative symbol of how both of them are still stuck in the past when it comes to each other, how their relationship is still developmentally young. Katsuki saying “Izuku” symbolizes maturity. Izuku saying “Katsuki” could mean the same. However, it doesn’t have to go in that direction either. I’d be fine either way.
If they’re on the battlefield, Katsuki is almost certain to call him “Deku” because that’s his hero name. That’s who he is on missions. So at least we can look forward to that.
Plus, “Deku” could come to mean something a little different between them anyways.
Tumblr media
He kind of already had one? Maybe a death scare on Izuku’s part would be more realistic. On Katsuki’s end though? Seems...repetitive after chapter 285.
I think there’s plenty of potential for dramatic angst on the battlefield between these two that doesn’t rely on Katsuki having a near-death experience, especially since that would undermine his point that he can fight alongside Izuku.
Heck, DvK3 could have a twist ending, say, with a kidnapping or two? An invasion, perhaps? The possibilities there are pretty much endless.
(I won’t take you to task on suggesting Katsuki has a villain counterpart he needs to defeat, though).
Tumblr media
(The theory you’re referencing.)
I actually know very little about Spider-Man, or most of the things Horikoshi references, to be honest. But I mean...I’ve seen the imagery, and I’ve heard people talk. I hope people will point out to me any parallels they see should they happen. :)
Tumblr media
You have said nothing with which I disagree.
Not that I think it will necessarily happen that way, but those things are definitely on my short list of high possibilities.
The most important meta I hope I can write soon I vaguely alluded to at the end of this post as well as earlier in this response post, and that’s how the Overhaul arc could come back in a big way for the finale of the MHA story.
It’s all there.

Welcome to the Time Variance Archive blog
This archive is dedicated to analysing the Disney+ Loki series and its various narrative themes.
Most of the posts here will be mine, but I'll also reblog and share posts and articles from other websites that I find interesting.
If you want to join me on this adventure, I'll be more than happy to publish your asks and submissions as long as you follow the guidelines.
Master list of my posts :
What makes a Loki a Loki ? a metaphysical response to the nature of variants
Hard worldbuilding vs soft worldbuilding
“There are no Time-Keepers” : why does it matter ?
What Sylvie (and Sylki) means to me.
Character appreciation post : He Who Remains
He Who Remains is the embodiment of the statu quo
Ramblings and predictions for season 2 regarding the multiversal war
Doylist analysis of the time loop scene : what narrative purpose does it serve ?
A short analysis of Loki and Mobius
Me infodumping about Ravonna Renslayer's story in the comics
My stance on the Loki vs Sylvie battle of opinions
Loki's fear of uncertainty and chaos
Sylvie and the devil symbolisms
Theory : all the Lokis in the Void are redeemed Lokis
Another analysis of Sylvie’s arc : understanding the complexity of systemic issues
Trying to explain some "plot holes" with evidence and complete bs of my own invention ^^
A heartfelt tribute to Victor Timely
Tags :
general writing : posts about creative writing and litterary analysis. Not directly related to the Loki series.
watsonian analysis : analysis from an in-universe pov
doylist analysis : analysis from a writing pov
headcanon : theories and personal interpretations not directly confirmed by the show
metaphysics : meta posts using metaphysical concepts (hey, my philosophy degree didn't get me a job, but at least I can flex on Tumblr)
loki series criticism : negative aspects of the show and potentially triggering materials
character analysis
tags by characters
Rules :
This blog is a drama-free zone. We're here to share our love for the Loki series, not our bitterness towards the fandom.
Sometimes, analysis includes criticism, and that's okay. However, all criticism must be in good faith : bad writing isn't the same as not liking something, and not every unexplained thing is a plot hole.
No ad-hominem attacks, either against other fans, cast and crew member or characters. All characters matter and they're all beautiful pieces in this narrative machine.
While it is important to acknowledge social issues in fandom, this blog won't include any controversial topic. The reason is simple : minorities aren't monolithic blocks. I've met all sort of poeple with all sort of opinions on the Internet, and while trying to validate someone's grievances, you might end up hurting another person. Also, I don't have the authority to talk about those issues, and might accidentally say something offensive. If you are curious about those issues, I would invite you to visit other blogs curated by poeple personally affected.
Finally, this is a nerdy blog. Media analysis doesn't always have to be factual and serious. Go wild and put on your tinfoil hat !
About me :
My main is queen-of-meows. I created this side blog because the tagging system on Tumblr is bad and I often lose my own posts. Also, I wanted to have a clean blog where I can curate a masterlist.
A few infos about me, so you know where I come from.
Other fandoms : Doctor Who, Final Fantasy VII, Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I also like Steven Universe. I am not really a MCU fan. I watched some of it in a casual way, enjoyed part of it, got bored with other parts. This is not a MCU negative statement, I just don't really vibe with everything. I am more into some specific comics (generally linked to the Loki series).
Music : I really love Nightwish. It's not really relevant, except when I will randomly post Nightwish songs that remind me of the Loki series, or quote Nightwish. That's how my brain works. I also really love Akira Yamaoka, many independant artists I know from Youtube and some old Lana Del Rey songs, as well as game and movies OST.
Books : I love Neil Gaiman and my new year resolution was to read all of his books, including the least famous ones. As a teen I was obsessed with His Dark Materials. Parallel dimensions ? Multiversal love story ? Mission to kill the supreme creator . Hmmm, maybe there is a pattern somewhere ^^.
My ships : Sylki is my main ship. My other main ship is Ravonna/Mobius. It's a very rare pair but have my reasons to ship them. But I also enjoy reading Lokius fanfictions, and looking at cute Lokius fanarts. I'm a multishipper and I don't mind the ship as long as I enjoy the story.
@ladylowkeyed
@bushs-world
@mareebird
@spoonietimelordy
@asgardian-viking
@storyplease

I might add poeple if I see you liking my posts !

here’s a list of the best, mediocre and worst kdramas i watched in 2020
no one asked for this but it’s happening because i have thoughts (also all opinions are my own if you disagree then get well soon i guess... no i’m kidding make your own posts about it don’t hate me please) ahsjsj anyways click to read a lengthy post and if you actually read the whole thing then thank you i hope you enjoy this wild ride!
THE BEST KDRAMAS -
mystic pop up bar - this show had everything i ask from a kdrama literally i can name it all found family (to real family), well thought out characters, a mystery plot, special effects, soft romances that were well written, a happy ending! no show in 2020 even comes close to how good this one was! the writers literally guided you throughout the whole thing so you could come up with theories and didn’t do a ‘aha! gotcha’ thing where they want to prove the audience wrong but they wanted us to be right and satisfied! the worst part about the drama is that it’s still so underrated and people just brush it off as some random fantasy show but it’s so much more than that! 1000/10
flower of evil - who doesn’t want to see lee joon gi being the son of a serial killer, living with the name of a man who is in a coma, and hiding his real identity from his wife who is a detective? this show constantly had me at the edge of my seat on a weekly basis so the emotions i went through while watching this are unparalleled! the writers also did such a good job on writing a coherent story that made sense and tied up all the plot points in the end. just a really satisfying show to watch! 10/10
where your eyes linger - i literally bought a $8 viki pass to watch this show so it should tell you everything you need to know about how i feel ahsjsj the episodes were 10 minutes long but we got a good story with well written characters who got character development in a total of 80 minutes it’s insane! honestly it’s still hard to believe this show had rookie actors because they were just so emotive that you could feel all the happiness, sadness, yearning and pining! probably one of my fave kdramas this year because of the acting that i always constantly rewatch! would recommend 10/10
crash landing on you - okay so this drama was actually released on my birthday last year and it was a time in my life when i was going through a lot so maybe it’s the comfort this show provided me through that time this is why i have such a soft spot for it? like the romance was good, it was funny, there was found family, the nk soldiers were all softies, there were strong female leads, soft male leads!!! ahh!! no other show on this list made me think about the unification of south korea and north korea irl because i wanted se ri and jeong hyeok to be together 4ever! but the only issue i had with this show was the ending they gave seung jun if they didn’t do that i’d give this show a 10/10 but just for that they get a 9/10
psycho but it’s okay - this was one of those shows where you’re literally like ‘wow everyone here needs therapy’ but this show was amazing i loved the story telling and how each episode related to children’s book/fairytales! the writers also did a good job with how carefully they talked about mental health in depth without villainising their characters but actually tried to make the audience understand why they were this way which included all the side characters too who had a well thought out story in each episode! also the dynamic between moon young, kang tae and sang tae was everything to me the actors all did an amazing job portraying their characters, it truly was a healing drama. the only thing i didn’t like about this show was the whole plastic surgery plot with the mother like that was very far fetched but it provided drama so i’ll let it slide because the rest was amazing. this show is a solid 8.5/10
18 again - another underrated gem! who would’ve thought a remake of that zac efron movie could be this good!! lee do hyun stole this show for sure the way he portrayed his character and gave heart eyes to his kids (when he’s only 25 irl was the best thing i saw this year ahsjs) i loved the family dynamics in this show, i loved how it talked about what it’s like to be young parents and how society still think it’s taboo to be divorced! it’s a show that makes you laugh and cry at the same time and that’s why everyone should watch it! however, the biggest clown thing this show did to me though was that i got sls for the first time while watching a kdrama... hwang in yeop if u’re reading this i love u and u deserved better 🤡 that aside this show was a 8/10
itaewon class - i actually didn’t watch this drama as it was airing because i thought i wouldn’t enjoy the plot but when i watched it i binged the whole thing in 2 days and my biggest regret is i didn’t watch it sooner! everyone knows i have a soft spot for park seo joon since he’s my favourite actor i’ve literally watched all his dramas like he could star in the trashiest drama out there and i’d still watch it and be like wow (looking at she was pretty 👀) this show aside from the acting had one of the best revenge plots in a kdrama! just watching a character realistically hustle his way to reach the top while fighting the corrupt man whose son killed his father was so so satisfying to watch! however, the love triangle in this show was questionable idk what they were trying to do with that but it personally annoyed me! but still i’ll give this show a 7.5/10 because i enjoyed it a lot!
do you like brahms? - kim min jae and park eun bin.. that’s all you need to know about why this is a good kdrama! i’m usually not a big fan of melodramas and everyone knows i prefer rom coms but this show was just so perfectly melo that i loved all the angst and pain we got!! also just watching two introverted people awkwardly fall in love was amazing! the characters story arcs were also handled pretty well with song ah finally learning to speak up for herself and joon young learning to express how he truly feels! but... the love square? was probably the most annoying thing the rest in my opinion was nicely done! i know people had mixed feelings about the ending but i loved that after all the pain joon young and song ah went through they got a happy ending together! 7/10
find me in your memory - okay this show started off very slow and it was confusing at the start but as it progressed everything in the plot started to fall into place! i mean this show really took opposites attract to a new level where the male lead could remember every single detail from his life but the female lead had to forget some of her traumatic memories to help her cope with her life! they were also tied together through a mutual character who was a big part of their lives in a different way! just an interesting melodrama with interesting characters i liked it! and moon ga young... i love you queen!!! 7/10
THE MEDIOCRE KDRAMAS -
more than friends - was the storytelling in this show groundbreaking? no. was the acting decent? yes. also probably the main reason i stuck with this show until the end! i think we can all agree lee soo had the best character development on this show he started off as a bad boy who wore one ear stud to actually becoming a well liked character... who else did it like him? no one. also the chemistry between the mains was 🔥 but the second male lead was so annoying is there a opposite word for second lead syndrome because i had that for sure! i think the best part about this show was the people i watched it with on here... shoutout to the five of us ahsjsj also this show introduced me to a talented actor/singer like ong seong wu (y’all know my kpop knowledge is nonexistent so no i didn’t know he was in a band called wanna one) all in all a predictable show but i had fun watching it so 6.5/10
tale of the nine tailed - i didn’t actually watch this show i watched it through gifs and instagram posts ahsjsjs so am i qualified to talk about my opinion definitely no... will I talk about it anyways yes lmao. lee rang deserved better that’s all goodbye and take care. 5.5/10
start up - probably one of the most awaited opinions. y’all thought this would be in the worst kdramas section but i decided to give this show some rights. the show started off strong, lost it’s way after episode 6 and then the last episode gave me what i wanted so i have mixed feelings. the writing was not the best i think we can all agree, love triangle as a plot device? wow so groundbreaking 🤡 the characters on the other hand... i loved every single one of them i mean ship wars? i don’t know her. the show had a lot of potential that was wasted but we also got some cute moments between the characters so there was really no winning or losing with this show? but in all honesty you can’t put a talented cast together like this and then just decide to give the audience a mediocre plot but the writers did exactly that! i think i can redirect y’all to my ‘crimes this show committed’ post for a in-depth analysis. lastly nam do san was a GOOD and REFRESHING male lead and ji pyeong was also a GOOD and FUN second male lead!!! this show gave me the ugliest ship war ever that i was transported back to my high school tvd days so thank you for that!! but the cast was loveable and all had a lot of chemistry together so here’s a 5/10 maybe that's too generous but... i think the reason why i didn't enjoy watching this show as much was definitely because of the tag on here lmao
THE WORST KDRAMAS -
the king eternal monarch - i miss clowning this show so much. the amount of braincells i lost while trying to understand this plot... i should be compensated by the writers. however, woo do hwan was a treat to look at on a weekly basis... however the writers kept decreasing his screen time even though he had a dual role... make it make sense? and i cannot comment on the plot of this show because i still don’t understand anything? also in my opinion tae eul and lee gon were the most bland couple of 2020, there was no chemistry between them and there was just a random kiss in episode 5 and they randomly said i love you... where was the development? also lee gon was soooo boring and such a one dimensional male lead! literally all the side characters were so much more interesting and the cast was good... but this plot. 2/10
do do sol sol la la sol - i wanna fight the writer who decided that the plot twist on the show would be that jun is a minor? i had no expectations from this show but it looked cute and nonsensical but that plot twist made me run the other way so fast that i never looked back! just because jun is a boy they really thought this would be excused like lmao we all have critical thinking skills???? the clown behaviour. a solid 1/10
record of youth - i hate this show so much. imagine not utilising park so dam who just starred in the biggest oscar winning movie to her full potential. imagine just making her a love interest to park bo gum’s character in the year 2020. i watched it up until episode 6 and i kept waiting for her character to get development... but it never happened so i dropped this show. also this show featured the MOST useless love triangle i have ever seen in my life like what was the point? also park bo gum’s characters family was straight up annoying (minus the grandpa) but they got so much screen time like that should’ve been given to park so dam... also villainising a gay side character for no reason at all in the year 2020? this show was a waste of my time i want the 6 hours i spent watching this back. -100/10
backstreet rookie - i watched one episode of this and literally wanted to rip my eyeballs out of my head. idk what ji chang wook was thinking when he signed this drama i think he lost his ability to read because that's the only reasonable explanation for why he chose to star in such a dumpster fire show! this show had a racist character... had a high schooler kiss an adult... sexist jokes... just the worst things you can think of in a drama... this show had it. i still can’t believe so many people watched this show to the point where it had better ratings than pbio... really made me question everyone’s taste? but sorry can’t relate my taste is excellent so here’s the rating this show actually deserves -1000/10
if you made it this far... thank you for reading. let’s continue to love some kdramas together and get clowned by others in 2021! looking forward to it 😅

I’m bored  so they’re links now  some of the tags seem to be empty?  if you ever rename the blog the links will stop working btw
—————————————–
Ooh neat!
You probably worked hard on this, but since I add new tags and remove irrelevant ones as time goes on, this will prob only be good for the tags that are here and I don’t want you to go through the trouble any time I add or change one. xD
Idk why some tags would be empty bc each one should have at least one post bc that’s why I saved the tag to the list. Tumblr logic I guess.
I appreciate this though :D Tumblr search likes to bork out so this might be helpful.

ive been thinking a lot about the new mlp movie and how excited i am for it, so here's all of my gen 5 movie hopes/predictions, ranging from "incredibly likely" to "i know it probably won't happen but it just feels right to me"
sunny and hitch are siblings
smartphones/modern technology
hitch is the one whos most disapproving of sunnys friendship with izzy, but tags along for the journey anyway
the "jewel heist" will be something that they have to do in order to gain the trust of the pegasi (they go to the pegasi for help or smth, but the pegasi are like "maaan, if only we had back that culturally important jewel that the unicorns stole from us and now have in a museum😩")
alternatively, theyre visiting the pegasi for help or whatever, and the pegasi refuse to help, so they just steal the jewel that they were there for. lol
there will be a scene where hitch and izzy talk out their issues with eachother, and the scene ends with izzy walking away and hitch giving her a "im falling in love" kind of smile while her back is turned (i dont want this but I have a terrible hunch that SOMEONE is going to be a love interest to izzy)
at least 2 brony meme references
there will be a core 5
every character will have a pet sidekick, some of which will be flocked in the pricier toys
the mane 6 will either not be mentioned at all, or there will be a scene/multiple scenes where sunny is fangirling over them and constantly using them as examples for "why can't we all just get along!" (i feel like the latter is more likely, but it depends on how connected to gen 4 they want this new generation to be)
the songs will all bop, but only one will bop hard enough to make it to tiktok
villain song (this probably won't happen because there probably won't be any big bads, but I can dream)
when the movie premieres, there will be countless conspiracy theories talking about discord for no reason other than he is immortal ("Discord Is Hitch And Heres Why")
the toys will barely (if at all) branch away from the main cast
there will be a scene near the end where the group gets into a crazy bad argument, and sunny is the one who has to bring them all together (or, sunny continues on the journey alone, but her impulsiveness lands her in hot water, and her friends all have to come together to save her)
cutiemarks are gone! unicorns can't use magic! its all GONE because no one is FRIENDS with eachother and friendship is MAGIC
Sunny has to deal with her own personal racial biases, but pretends like she's not biased at all (like the bunny from zootopia)
at the end of the movie, the core cast earns their cutiemarks because friendship. other ponies see this, and theyre like "wtf i want a cutiemark", which will lead to misguided ponies down the line trying to manhandle friendship to get their magic/cutiemarks back. the cutiemarks are a motivation to make friends, but theyre the WRONG motivation to make friends. the dramatics
ok thats all I have. thanks to anyone who read this far! I know its extremely unlikely for most of these to happen, but a lot of them are just little crumbs of ideas my brain threw out :,) no matter what tho, I'm excited for gen 5!

I find it interesting how each Feral boy is with DreamSMP lore and how they approach it if they do. This is also some ideas and improvements. This is all my opinion and you don't have to agree or disagree.
Disclaimer this will be me using comparisons as it makes it easier to explain. This isn't me saying one person is better than another. Some might be negative points, some will be positive so no critical tags sorry. Even with me once again expressing my strong negative opinions on Tales. The idea is good the execution is not.
This is based off of multiple things; Character story, Character traits, Lore?, Plot holes, Fan theories, General enjoyment, Viewer impact, Clear goals etc
Dream seems to enjoy it the most as he offers to join everyone's lore as well as helping when he can and also trying to include others into "main" lore He also has managed to create a character with a full storyline without not once streaming from his perspective. He's very good at doing things that may seem small at the time but ends up having a huge impact. He manages to have a full storyline and a complete character but still leaves room for theories and headcanons for people to add on (Dreamon my beloved 💕). Because we don't see his perspective we don't know his intentions or goals so he's made his character detailed but mysterious which is actually quite difficult as he's the main character (Sorry Ranboo but it's true)
When it comes to acting he's very good at staying in character even when things get a bit scuffed obviously there's a few moments of breaking character but they're not him trying to get others to break character with jokes and voices they're genuine fuck ups (Accidentally blowing himself up and breaking character to both clear up confusion about it being canon and to switch from a tense atmosphere to give the audience a break for a bit and breaking character to say his Twitch handle after accidentally breaking TOS so George didn't get banned)
Dream said he's got a storyline from his perspective and it's all prerecorded which I'm excited for as I think it's going to be a bunch of flashbacks which could expand both character backstory but also create more storylines for people to bounce off of. For example if he did a flashback with some of the OG members they could build from that. It could give more of an explanation of why he changed. Essentially Dream's lore could be a bunch of behind the scene clips giving more lore for characters like him discussing the egg or prison with Sam, him and Punz talking more about the deal, him and Techno , him and Puffy, him and Ranboo. Dream is the main character because literally ever other character can do a flashback scene with him and build a whole storyline from it. For example Dreamon Hunters can be bought back in which already was linked to the Egg by Fundy. To sum it up Dream's lore from his perspective can not only made way for multiple new theories and headcanons but also is the easiest way for other characters to have more dimension even with a 20 second clip. And it gives more context to Dream as a character. Disclaimer this isn't me saying people can only be dimensional characters because of Dream I'm saying that Dream is the easiest way for someone to start a storyline that they can then work on if they want.
Quackity can do lore if he puts his mind to it. However it also has to rely on multiple things. Who the lore is with?, How serious is it? And What's the vibe? Basically if Quackity is with people who don't do serious lore or people who crack jokes often then his lore won't have that good quality lore I know it can be. For example Quackity's lore with Sam and Dream couldn't be replicated with most other people on the server. I can't even imagine if Karl and George were trying to do the prison lore. Even in Quackity's big stream you can see this difference Schlatt's bit dragged on and often got derailed because whilst they were both interested in the lore they weren't invested. The bit with BBH was a bit all over the place because they were both talking over each other and you could sort of tell it had little to no script or end goal but this was also partly down to them both being very into lore. They both tried to stick to their pre-existing character traits which clash Vs the Prison which had a clear script even if it was vague. Go to prison, convince Sam to bring weapons, Go torture Dream. Sam, Dream and Quackity are 3 of the most mysterious characters who have no clear plans, you can't predict their moves which is why any lore with them is good because they don't have a character personality that they have to stick to. For example Dream is known to adapt for each person so he could be nice one minute and demon child next.
Once Quackity has broken character he used to completely lose it. The vibe was gone however I was highly impressed with how he and Sam managed to keep the vibe when the prison broke. Previously Quackity would have lost his shit and derailed everything. I do think Quackity's strongest lore point is going with other strong lore members or just being on his own.
George and Sapnap I'm going to sort of link together. They both seen to be a bit meh on lore. I think it genuinely depends on what mood they're in. I also think that they'll both be much more comfortable doing lore that's prefilmed Vs live on stream.
Sapnap is very good at bouncing off of people so I think he'd be really good at lore with most people. I think Sapnap could definitely capitalise on the angst of being the abandoned one who is loyal to death but doesn't have the same in return. Like Dream both Sapnap and George are good at voice manipulation meaning if they want sad angst they can sound upset. Sapnap seems more tempted to do on the spot lore so he can't back out so that's another option. Like Sapnap has multiple headcanons handed to him and I know this bitch can act his little yeehaw soul out. Even if it's short clips talking to people like Punz or Sam who he seems closest to.
George has this strange ability to kickstart ideas for lore and then let's others build from it. (Also his ability for all of his lore to have a LGBTQ subtext like pack it up Dean Winchester) I genuinely don't think it's intentional however I think with a bit of thought he can have a general well rounded character. I know he did that lore the other day and has started to build up a character background however I think he's better with less serious lore people as I don't think he can do serious mood streams like Dream or Ranboo but can potentially hold it long enough for a bit like Techno or Phil. I think George's weakness is he'd rather someone else guide him through lore instead of doing it himself. Man really doesn't like being the main character.
Karl seems to want to do lore but doesn't have the ability to create it. He has all these ideas but can't form a proper story about it. I used to have this issue where I had all these cool bullet point ideas but I could never form a cool idea with them and I think Karl has the same issue. In my opinion if Karl does want to continue with Tales and bullet point ideas I think he needs help formulating a bit more of a story. Once again like Sapnap and George I think he excels in prerecorded lore however it's also either heavily scripted or he's having his hand held through it. Which is fine but that's why a lot of people can't connect Tales to DreamSMP as his streams are the only ones that are heavily scripted and it gives off a different vibe. Karl is also too bubbly to crack down on serious lore which is fine not all lore needs to be serious and angsty however he tries to make it deep. I personally think that Karl should capitalise on this uwu soft boy persona he has. No deep lore. Obviously choosing memory loss time travel involves serious moments but I think he needs to split it more between dark angst and wholesome Karlnapity moments. What I mean is that Karl on DreamSMP and Tales Karl seem like 2 completely different characters that just so happen to share a name. I think the prerecorded bit at the end needs to begin to add his DreamSMP personality a bit more.
TLDR: Dream is strongest lore, Quackity works best with serious lore with people invested or on his own with a bit of direction, Sapnap and George will probably be better off doing prerecorded lore as it seems more comfortable for them, Karl struggles to put his ideas into a storyline and would benefit from doing less heavily scripted pre recorded lore to make his storyline cohesive Vs a bunch of one shots.
To sum it up Dream is Hot and should bring back Dreamons, Quackity needs to work more with serious lore people, Sapnap should Capitalise on his loyalty trait and constant abandonment for maximum angst, George should cry on command more, Karl needs spend more time writing instead of paying for builds.
