dinner dates ! jjk x reader series pt. 2/4
by @cinnamon-girl-writes
featuring: nanami, toji, yuuta, geto | see: part 1
Tumblr media
kento nanami:
(we’ll say you guys live together and are dating/engaged)
ok so nanami mostly just wants to spend time with you so he’d choose somewhere that’s more private
he thought a lot about where to take you because he wanted somewhere you’d like
but he’d never be caught dead asking gojo for advice so 😭 he had to come up with something on his own
i think he’d pick a nice quiant little ramen place 🥰
y’all haven’t been there before but you see it one the way to work and you’re always mentioning it
when he tells you where you’re going, you’re obviously super excited 💜
he’d dress up all nice in a white button up and blue slacks and brown dress shoes and-
i’m sorry i could go on about him forever. anyways
you’re wearing an adorable frilly yellow sundress he bought you a few weeks ago and has been silently praying that you’ll wear (nanami, you horny bastard)
NO BUT Y’ALL LOOK SO GOOD TOGETHER WITH Y’ALLS COORDINATING OUTFITS I-
the ramen place is so cute 😌 the chefs and waiters are so sweet and treat you like family it’s adorable
you order miso ramen and nanami orders spicy tonkotsu ramen and it’s delicious! :)
he loves seeing his girl happy and where would you be happier than at a ramen restaurant??
he’s not the type to take pictures of his food but he absolutely sneaks in plenty of pictures of you (both with and without your knowledge😉)
he also orders edamame to share but ends up letting you eat all of it
afterwards, he drives you back to your shared apartment and the two of you shower together and then get ready for bed
once y’all are in bed you cuddle for the rest of the night, just enjoying eachother’s presence 🥺
bonus: he lets you pick the movie you fall asleep to that night; you pick notting hill *cut to nanami crying at 2 am because he stayed up to watch it*
toji fushiguro:
toji may seem like a tough guy on the outside but he’s soft for his girl 🥰
it’s your four year marriage anniversary so he wants his princess to feel special ✨
he decides to take you out to a fancy michelin star resetaurant that you’ve had your eye on for a few months
you’ve quite literally been stalking their instagram account because the food looks that good
the two of you get ready together in your shared apartment (stop because I could write a whole drabble about domestic!toji- I have to stop myself-)
anyways, you’re wearing a dark blue bodycon mini dress with gorgeous silver heels and your wedding band shimmering on your finger ✨
toji doesn’t usually dress up much, but for his girl he will, especially on an important day like today !! he’s wearing a white button up shirt (that you can see his muscles through 👀) and black slacks with a brown belt (!!!) and brown dress shoes
he wears a dark gray wool coat over his clothes because it’s very cold outside (hey, it was his idea to have a winter wedding 🤷🏼♀️)
but you know it’s gonna be super cold outside !! so you  attempt to force him to wear a scarf (mostly because it’s cold, but also- imagine that big huge scary man wearing a cute lil scarf 🥺)
after a good deal of complaining, he finally consents and puts the scarf on 🤭 it’s dark red and it compliments his hair and skin tone so well and-
anyways, he drives y’all to the restaurant for your reservation at 8:30
when you walk in, the waitress greets you and leads you to your table
a different man comes after her to pour champagne into fancy glass cups for you
the two of you converse idly, selecting several items from the menu to try: spicy edamame, pork gyoza, crab rangoon, and tempura shrimp for starters
y’all decide to share several sushi platters along with miso soup and tonkatsu that toji insisted you order because it's your favorite 💜
somehow, the two of you finish all of the food on your combined platters (toji ate some of your leftovers after you decided you were done) but not before also selecting a fair selection of lavish desserts that were served with exquisite decorations on the plates
after your meal, toji surprises you with a diamond studded necklace that matches your wedding band almost perfectly. of course you love it and tell him that he shouldn't have, but he doesn't care about money, he'll do anything to make his girl happy 🥰
on the drive back home, toji tells you how much he loved you before carrying you inside your shared apartment since you fell asleep on the ride home 💜
tucking you into bed, he plants a kiss on your forehead, brushing your hair out of your face and wishing you sweet dreams 💞
yuuta okkotsu:
when i tell you that yuuta is SO WHIPPED for his girl-
he’d quite literally give you the world if you asked 😌
anyways, he told you the two of you were going out to dinner that night and asked you where you wanted to go
you guys looked up restaurants for a while and then you found a cool anime-themed sushi restaurant
you guys decided to keep it casual tonight; you’re wearing a sweatshirt (yuuta’s sweatshirt) and a black skirt and he’s wearing blue jeans and a forest green crochet sweater that you made him last winter (that he absolutely ADORES and CHERISHES btw)
you guys really like it there !!
it’s decorated really cool with anime posters all over the walls
you order a couple platters of sushi to share (his favorite is spicy tuna don’t ask why but I know)
he asks you a bunch of random would-you-rather questions during your date because he thinks it’s so cute to see your thinking face or you all flustered 🥰
of course, he already knows what your response is gonna be because y’all know each other so well 🥺
once y’all have eaten half the restaurant and are super full, he takes you out to walk around the city
you’re in a shopping square that’s full of cute little shops
you drag yuuta into one store in particular because you saw a stunning dress hanging in the shop’s glass window that you desperatly wanted to look at
it was a gorgeous lavender color with silky ribbons for sleaves and pleated fabric that practically made you drool
until you got inside and checked the price tag to reveal that it was $80 😞
you happily continued your date anyways, strolling the rest of the stops and even picking up some yummy street food for dessert 🍡
you get home later that night, tucking into bed with yuuta to watch some tv before you fell asleep (i can 1000% see yuuta being a true crime fanatic so you watch a documentary about unsolved mysteries)
bonus: three days later, you find a certain pleated lavender dress hanging on your door with a note that reads: -from yuuta with love <3
suguru geto:
(this is gonna be set when they’re students at jujutsu tech and geto isn’t a curse user yet because i didn’t feel like writing evil geto today ✨)
so you and geto (both jujutsu sorcerers) have been dating for about a year now! 💗
you two had planned to spend some time together today and just wanted some chill one-on-one time
so when satoru invited the you guys to go out, he was pretty disappointed to find out that you already had plans (you can just hear him muttering about ‘damn lovebirds…’)
y’all decide to order take out and watch anime
you decide on watching blue lock, which is one of geto’s favorites
you just started watching the show recently but you really like it! your favorite character (so far) is isagi
your food getes there eventually; you both ordered pan fried noodles (though you ordered chicken and geto ordered and beef) and a plate of tempura shrimp to share 😈
after you finish eating, geto sits against the wall in his bead and pulls you onto his lap between his legs to stroke your hair while you watch the show
you love spending time like this with him where there’s no pressure from the world or threat of imminent death over your heads
you wished that you could create a world that was perfect just for him 💞
due to the food you just ate and your comfortable position, you fall asleep, geto adjusting your head since it started to lull to the side slightly
he absolutely cherishes you and wants his girl to be comfy and get some good sleep 🥺 he plants little chaste kisses on the top of your head every once in a while, starting to get tired himself
eventually, he turned the tv off and transferred you to a more comfortable position: laying down on your side with your back against his chest. he dozed off, wondering how on earth he had ever deserved someone like you

November 6th: Daily Reflection
Good evening everyone! Today was a tiring day of meetings, midterms, and studying.
Sleep: 0-1 Hour
Food I Ate Today:
- Apple fritter and iced vanilla latte
- Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Cheeseburger
- Dinner(skipped)
Daily Reflection:
Studying with friends is both fun yet unproductive. Yesterday I decided to study with my friend Gina. We were both in task for a while until we started scrolling TikTok. She then pulled out a catalog of TikTok dances that she wanted to do and showed them to me. we then proceeded to do each and every TikTok dance for the rest of the night until 4:30 AM although we were supposed to be studying for a test we just danced and sang karaoke the whole night. Although I didn't get to study and I'm horrified for my test, I had so much fun. Sometimes experiences like these are super memorable and are worth whatever repercussions that follow.
Today I also realized that Carl's jr. is actually a delicious chain fast food restaurant. The crispy chicken in the chicken sandwich was delectable and I was satisfied.
Thank you for coming to my blog and I'll see you all next time!

01/19 ♡ Visiting the Natural History Museum-
Ah, drought-ridden California has finally been experiencing a cold, icy winter! We're constantly getting 50-60 degree temperatures. I'm grateful but I should really bundle up now that the sun's setting, brrrr.
Tumblr media
I just spent all afternoon editing my Tumblr blog, and it turns out I still remember some basic HTML, hehe. I'm not too crazy over the background but I'll try finding something else later.
Anywho, I wanted to share my experience visiting the Natural History Museum yesterday! ♡( ◡‿◡ )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Went with my dear friends, Shirley and Camille. We originally wanted to eat Korean BBQ first, but then realized that it wasn't open for another half hour. We weren't starving YET, so we went to the museum first instead(●´⌓`●). It was my first time visiting so I was shocked that the entry was free for Los Angeles residents??? (Just bring your ID) When you're trying to stay on a budget, those things really matter. I wish I had bought a pretty crystal at the gift shop to support the museum, but I'll make a mental note to buy one on my next visit.
There were a ton of exhibits ranging from dinosaur fossils, collections of animals, birds, bugs, and expensive-looking crystals. We even entered a whole vault filled with diamonds made from gems all over the planet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The dinosaur fossils were ENORMOUS and truly breathtaking. No, really, looking up at the Mosasaur fossil (that giant, aquatic dino that ate a shark in Jurassic World) above me made me light-headed. I was in absolute awe. Being in this area reminded me of how I really wanted to be a paleontologist as a kid. The experience made my inner child happy and motivated to focus on my current passions in life~
Maybe about two hours in, we noticed the museum was preparing to close and that we were starving then! So we left and enjoyed the winter sunset on our way back to the car. We tried a lot of new places today, and that included this Korean BBQ restaurant I saw in an Instagram reel that morning. Unlimited meat and sushi? Sign me up!
Tumblr media
The food didn't disappoint and the hot sake felt super cozy. I definitely didn't get a buzz though. My tolerance was too good yesterday, haha.
Final stop was a boba shop called Boba Bear, which I pulled up just searching what was near us on the googly. We were really lucky, because they were in the middle of a collab with ONE PIECE! I treated my fiancé to a flask and got myself a strawberry milk tea. The drinks were delicious and not too sweet. It being Los Angeles though, we did have to pay for valet just to park and enjoy our drinks at the shop. Oh, LA!
Tumblr media
One small little memory that will stay with me forever, and this is pretty ooey gooey, are the car rides in-between these places. Half the fun is really the long car rides through LA, singing and laughing about everything and anything. My heart is full just reflecting back~ Thankful for my friends.
Tumblr media
Until then!

Tagaytay Escapade
We traveled to Tagaytay at night, and the cold breeze of the place embraced and welcomed us. I really enjoyed the night because of the weather and also because I was with Arcel.
Despite having dual jobs, we managed to have quality bonding time, strengthening our relationship. We passed by Andoks, which was remarkable on our last trip due to its affordability and delicious taste when we had nothing else to choose from.
The cold weather led us to Serin to find and buy a jacket, and we found one at Penshoppe. My girlfriend chose this one for me, and it suited me well. It's memorable because she chose it for me. Thank you, mahal.
Feeling hungry, we took the bus to Bulalo's Point Restaurant. However, I noticed that the place was not very accommodating, so we tried searching nearby since there were many restaurants to choose from. We attempted to go to E-ways Restaurant, but unfortunately, it was already closed. We ended up at Balinsasayaw, where we did not expect the food to become our favorite. The fried bangus and bulalo were really special, and we ate a lot. The taste of Tsokolate was remarkable to us. We loved it so much!
In the morning, we took a walk and enjoyed the sun. We went to Starbucks and had coffee there, trying to sunbathe and talk to each other about life scenarios. I really admire her idea of always putting God first in whatever you do and not being too proud of yourself because humble people receive good merits in life. She gave an example of her mother's situation, and I appreciate her for sharing this with me. I am reminded to be humble every day and always be grateful for what I am today.
On Sunday afternoon, we went to Gracis and met her Kadiwa friends. We explored the place, exchanged gifts, and enjoyed the activities there. My girlfriend and I tried fishing and ATV, which was a super cool experience as it was our first time together. Thank you for sharing this adventure and introducing me to these people in my life. After that, we went to church to fulfill our duties and had dinner. I'll never forget the restaurant on Bonifacio Drive because of the small serving of food but being super expensive. Never again. After dinner, we made fun of that restaurant. Hahaha, we felt like the craziest people in the world. Lol.
Tagaytay has always held a special place in my heart because this is where we started to strengthen our relationship and get to know each other. Our relationship has become strong, intimate, and peaceful. To Arcel, I always look forward to making memories with you in this place, having hot chocolate, and engaging in meaningful conversations.

Baguio Escapade
At 4 am on January 28, we went to Benguet with one of our closest friends, Joan and Jojo. My girlfriend and I were the ones who planned the trip, and unexpectedly, the couple wanted to join with us, so it became a double date now. Hahahaha. That was super cool, though. Thank you because the two have a car, and our travel to Benguet became easy. It took us a 4-hour drive to get there. We went to Camp John Hay to have breakfast and ended up at Pancake House. The cold weather was up to 14 degrees Celsius and tolerable at that time, but the weather got much colder in the evening, hahaha. After breakfast, we tried to go to Tsokolate de Batirol and experience their famous hot chocolate. A lot of people were there; however, when we tried the drink, the experience was not something amazing because the taste was like beer, lol. Nevertheless, we tried to finish it even though we did not like it much. Hahaha. Outside the restaurant, we experienced the cold breeze of the weather and appreciated the trees and breathing space there. I also loved how we used the camera brought by Ar. I was stunned by how we captured things and people. It felt like something special, to capture moments and make them live forever. How mesmerizing it was.
Benguet has been a place where Mother Nature heals everyone. The stunning mountains, the vegetables, the food, the weather, and the people – that's why I always want to be there and heal each wound that I experience in every war I face. The mountains and trees have been one of my friends whenever I feel tired because I know that God provided these amazing things to help His humans. I always love to connect to nature. With this, we went to Atok to explore the beauty of flower farms. There are lots of kinds of flowers there, and the place was too high to travel and too far from our place. Thank you to Jojo for driving us; he has really good driving skills, indeed! I appreciated the overlooking mountain and flowers. We also bought strawberries as pasalubong for ourselves, lol. We planned to make tanghulu; unfortunately, we did not have enough ingredients to make this. Sad. The whole trip was filled with relaxation and adventure. We went to ALAPO to experience camping at night and grilled enoki pork. The food was amazing, the bonfire was stunning, and the sunrise was a beautiful souvenir we could ever get from that place. I loved our photos there.
We experienced a lot of firsts in our first three days; however, we are not yet ready to make our trip fully on vacation. After Mondays, we're back to work. My girlfriend and I work two jobs, and I am happy to say that we managed it superbly! I was amazed at how my girlfriend worked because she managed it so well, and she did smart work – by focusing on certain hours, and the rest will be rest time. I was amazed by her. Most of the time, she did not work, but her productivity was remarkable, and she finished all her tasks. On the other side, I had to work hard because there were a lot of deadlines and tasks to finish and create pull requests on my plate. I did not want to lose this job since I needed more money, and ironically, because of the burden and weight on my head, on this day, I had planned to leave my second job – but this is all in my head. I just wanted to rant and express it because I cannot manage it anymore. Thank you to my girlfriend for being my sounding board and carrying the burdens in my heart. I wanted to quit at that time and submit my resignation, but I never did. Haha, I tried to convince myself to push harder and find a solution to that problem, and fast forward, the workload in the next month became manageable. Up to this date, I am still with the same company.
Joan and Jojo had to leave in the middle of the week because they said they could not bear the cold weather. My girlfriend and I were the ones who stayed in the Airbnb. We enjoyed each other's company, and I was grateful for her and thankful because she was one of a kind. She helped and comforted me when I struggled to communicate with others and assisted me with my internet connection during my interview with Nelnet. I loved every act she did for me. She cooks our food well, and I appreciate how she takes care of me every single minute. I feel genuine care and love from her. I could say that I am the luckiest man alive. hahaha.
I know most people might be thinking about two people in the same room and sleeping together, and of course, they may engage in premarital sex. However, we respect each other's decisions and adhere to the doctrines of our religion, which prohibit having sex without the blessing of our beloved parents until we are married. I am thankful that she is not like other girls who might seduce their man into having sex. I love how our relationship is going and how we respect each other. I would love to experience this type of bonding with you again soon! Therefore, I conclude that the whole vacation, walking around the city, and helping me when I felt bloated and my tummy hurt after eating on our last day there was wonderful. I don't have anything to say but thank you, Arcel, for giving me the kind of love that I am not sure if I deserve because you are more than enough for me. I love you, and I will take care of you and protect you at all costs, mahal ko.

Good News!
I got my Non-Professional Driver's License.
My girlfriend's Korean Tourist Visa was approved.
I decided to apply to the Korean Embassy for a Tourist Visa, and it was approved!
I applied for the Canadian Student Visa Pathway, and it was approved!
Arcel is now my neighbor, and we enjoy each other's company.
We got our homestay approved on Airbnb.
Better days are coming!
There are a lot of things to be grateful for. I am grateful for having all kinds of support from my family, friends, and girlfriend. I could not imagine a happy life without them. All I can say right now is thank you, God Father, for allowing these events to happen in my life. I know that you have a very good reason that we never know why all this happens. All I can say is to trust you and surrender all to you because, as a human, I cannot do anything without you. Since Day 1, I know you have never forgotten me and always stood by my side, watching me with every decision in my life. Thank you for your guidance and for allowing my faith to grow. I hope for better days ahead, and if struggles are coming my way, I know that you will help and guide me to conquer all of them. Better days are coming! I manifest and pray that Arcel will have an employer in Alberta, Canada, particularly in Calgary by 2025, so she can leave the country to start her 30s. I know God has a plan for each and every one of us, and serving God is one of our purposes. I manifest that from this very day, we will come back to this blog and say that we are meant for Canada, and we will live there and build our own family.
In the upcoming days, I want to make sure to be more disciplined in each aspect of life. Thank you for bringing Arcel into my life because she has guided me to become a better person, and we align with each other to be the best versions of ourselves.
Here are the plans I want to fulfill in the following weeks:
Eat less, move more, eat more proteins, and engage in strength training.
Lose body fat and build muscle.
Improve my spiritual connection and faith with God Father by doing Panata.
Wake up at 6 am and do the routines with my girlfriend.
Read one book per month.
Write a blog consistently.
Socialize with family and friends to boost oxytocin and happy hormones – as humans, we build connections with others.
Travel in nature once in a while.
I hope these activities will strengthen my personal well-being and relationships with others, and I am looking forward to seeing progress little by little.  Super excited for our next trip! See you soon, South Korea!

Week 2: Galway, Cliffs of Moher, Dublin Castle, Hurling, London!
Hi everyone! Wow it’s been a crazy week!
We got up early on Sunday to take the 8 am train to Galway. It only costs 8 euro for students, but we couldn’t figure out how to choose our seats so all ended up apart. We all wanted to sleep but most of us got stuck in loud cabins full of little kids, so maybe we should’ve tried harder to choose our seats. When we arrived in Galway, we grabbed take out breakfast from a local cafe and ate in Eyre Square. We booked a bus to Cliffs of Moher so we went to the meeting spot and it took about 2 hours to get to Cliffs of Moher. The bus driver told us it was the longest line to park he had ever seen(how lucky). We were able to explore for 2 hours and the view was breathtaking. The bus rides went by very fast because the bus driver played some really good music.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When we arrived back in Galway, we checked into our hotel, changed, and headed out for the night. We ate at a super yummy burger place, explored around the water with a drink in hand (there are no open carry laws in Ireland), and hit a few pubs. It turns out the Sunday before Bank Holiday’s there are people out everywhere so we all ended up having too much to drink and struggled to get up Monday. Anyway, we woke up around 10 and shopped around, stopped by the cathedral, ate delicious pizza, and then headed back to Dublin on the 3:00 pm train. We took the bus home from Heuston station and got back around 6:45 pm. We picked up some food at centra to make and all ate together before heading to bed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tuesday we had morning classes and a field trip to the National Library to see exhibitions of Yeats and Heaney. The exhibitions were really cool although some of them were more graphic then we expected lol. We were left on our own to get back to UCD so we decided to explore the city and grab a bite to eat at Hairy Lemon. The fish and chips were amazing and I officially ordered my first Guinness(kind of embarrassing 2 weeks in). We stopped for ice cream then headed back to UCD to do laundry and hangout.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wednesday was another day of classes with another field trip to the Dublin Castle! The Dublin Castle was beautiful and we got a brief history of the castle as well as how it is used today. After, a few of us stayed downtown where we checked out The Bank for a drink, a Mexican restaurant, The Capital Cocktail Lounge, and Flannery’s. Let’s just say it was a long and very fun Wednesday night! :)

Thursday, I struggled to get up but it was another full day of classes. This day included a physics lab that was so incredibly difficult and ended up taking the entire 3 hours. We also learned the hard truth that getting a perfect score is extremely hard here as our 8/10 on previous labs were accompanied by zero red marks and a “very good.” After the lab, we ate at pi restaurant and headed to meet up with the summer at ucd team for hurling 101. Hurling was so fun a mix of lacrosse and field hockey (the two sports I played in high school) + baseball. Our friends ended up winning a lot of the competitions so a lot of us ended up winning Seamus(the summer at UCD mascot). Jessie even won the entire collection! I finished up the night planning and packing for London.

Friday morning we had classes and then we headed straight to the airport via taxi for a flight to London! I have been to London before but was so excited to be back. We took at taxi from Heathrow to the hostel we were staying at. It was my first experience in a Hostel and we had our own private room which was super nice. We arrived around 9:45 pm, changed quickly, and headed out to O’Neill’s which was recommended by Jessie. We had a super fun night and ended up staying out later than expected. Many drinks later, the night ended perfectly with McDonald’s Haloumi fries.

Saturday, we woke up at 8 and headed in a taxi to the Tower of London. We headed straight for the Crown Jewels which were stunning, then explored the rest of the sites. The whole experience was amazing! We then took a walk over the Tower Bridge and went to Borough Market where we had the most amazing food. The chocolate strawberries were perfection. Once we were stuffed, we went to see the London Eye, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey. We then headed towards Theatre Royal Drury Lane for tea. It was gorgeous and all of the food was amazing. We ended up staying there for almost 3 hours and enjoyed the tea and conversation(and the air conditioning). Once we finished, we made our way back to the Hostel and stopped by a tiny wine shop to get a couple of bottles for later. We rested until about 9:30 when we drank our wine, got a light dinner and drinks at a local greek place, then headed to a club we had researched. We had a fun night but were all exhausted from the day.

Yesterday, we got up around 9, which was a rough wake up call, checked out of the Hostel, and headed to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guards. I had seen this before but it was still super cool and the music they played(including parts of the Lion King) was great. We then grabbed brunch at a cafe on the way to Regent Street where we spent most of our day shopping. We finished the day with sushi and gelato before heading to Gatwick for our flight. Although our taxi driver was concerned that we did not leave ourselves enough time, we got there in plenty of time and our flight ended up being delayed about two hours(thanks Aerlingus). During this time, we bought Coronation Chicken crisps, Prawn Cocktail Pringles, and some other interesting snacks to try. They surprisingly all ended up being pretty good. Our flight finally took off and we finished our travel at 1:45 am this morning when we arrived back at UCD.

Because of my lack of sleep this entire weekend, I am writing this a little late from bed before we head on a field trip to Kilmainham Gaol.

Confessions of a Junkorexic

my redemption arc is in full effect! i’ve felt super sh*tty about the calorie overconsumption streak i’ve been on for the past few days but unlike in the past, i’m now choosing to make the conscious effort to assess the problem and work towards a resolution instead of my former method of coping by essentially just giving up on holding myself accountable, reinforcing the bad/harmful behavior, and continuing the cycle instead of forming a solution to end it 🙂 trust me, i may sound “enlightened” and “in-tune” with myself but i am faaaaar from either 😅
this being said…i ate out at a restaurant again today 💀 i made plans with a friend of mine to grab lunch and i literally spent an entire hour last night sifting through the menu to plan what i was going to eat and calculate the calories of everything…this however got thrown out the window when i got flustered while ordering and ended up ordering more food than i originally planned 🥲 BUT I CAN EXPLAIN!
so i went to Hooter’s for the first time ever today (it was f*cking delicious and i have zero regrets) and because i knew that this would be a restaurant where my fast a*s could easily go overboard, i ultimately planned to just order a boneless buffalo wing kids meal—that way i’d still be able to eat something i’d enjoy with portion control—hooooowever, it did not go as planned. i didn’t see the meal listed anywhere on the main menu but i still tried to order a kid’s meal anyways. i asked for a 5 piece boneless buffalo wing kids meal but i don’t think our waitress heard the “kids meal” part and told me that the lowest count for wings was 8 pieces. i was too embarrassed/flustered to repeat the order of what i actually wanted so i just went with it and ordered 8 wings instead of 5 😕 my friend and i also got an order of fries but luckily for me they weren’t that good so i barely ate any.
overall i’m not super peeved about it because the wings were amazing, i just would have felt like less of an obese whale had i been able to order my kid’s meal 😣 but on the bright side, i started my fast pretty early so hopefully i’ll finally be able to complete a 24 hr fast by tomorrow! fingers crossed🤞🏾

I'm really terrible at taking pictures but here's what I ate today (my dad took some of them as well thanks dad :) ):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pork Katsu (tried finding a specific name for the dish but couldn't find it. Basically Katsudon without the "don"or Rice)
And Katsu Scallops.
God damn was this restaurant super stressful at first. Long ass wait times and it was extremely packed because of how small it was. Was really worth it though, I mean the food was fucking delicious.
As for dessert:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Japanese Strawberry Shortcake! (Yes those are my ugly sausage hands)
I always get judged by my ma for liking this cake because it's "not sweet enough", but that's what I like about it. It tastes sweet enough for me personally,
But it also feels healthy to eat because of how faint the sweetness is which also makes me feel less guilty of eating it so-
anyway,
I always eat Japanese food on my birthday.
1. Because I don't have it as often otherwise
2. Because I'm a filthy weeb
And I've always ordered the same cake for 3 years now as well (because I don't have it as often and again it's really fricken' good)
The food and cake part is really the only part I look forward to on my birthday now. It's just so strange, today just felt like any other day to me. I've just become so numb and tired of life that my birthday doesn't excite me anymore.
Oh well. Saving a slice of that cake for Kurt's birthday in 2 days 🖤

Amman
Joelle was a champ through our rather harrowing drive through the fog to Amman, but we got in late and just crashed after ordering cocktails to the room. We prioritized eating street food in Amman, and took a dedicated tour; it started out with a trip to the citadel. We both really enjoyed the tour there, much more than we expected to. There were ancient Roman Ruins later taken over and adapted by Muslims, and you can see evidence of both groups in the ruins. There was a large statue of Hercules (similar in size to the statue of David) outside the temple there at one point. A decent portion of the temple is still remaining, but only the elbow and hand of the statue are left to see. Our guide was hilarious. He made us do a full on photo shoot at every location we went to, and really directed us trying to get some artsy shots. At the end we visited a museum of all these ancient statues and artifacts found at the citadel, and Joelle and I couldn’t get over how you were just able to touch most of them (of course we wouldn’t). They were just sitting out, no glass, no ropes, no nothing. Wild!
After that we visited a Roman Amphitheatre that is remarkably well preserved. It sat 6000 people and it was super impressive to stand in. The stairs are very steep, almost vertical! Our guide had these delicious drinks waiting for us outside when we were done. It’s called Sahlab, and is a sort of thin milk pudding. It’s made with milk, sugar, starch from an orchid plant to thicken in, pistachios, and cinnamon. Absolutely delicious. 10/10 would eat again.
From there we proceeded to the Blue Mosque. We had to dress in a hijab/floor length dress to enter. Joelle got this one piece that made her look a bit like one of the Maesters in Game of thrones, while I got a headscarf more similar to what I usually think of. The mosque was beautiful and the domes were covered in blue tiles. The ceiling inside was particularly pretty, with stained glass and a huge chandelier.
After that, we proceeded to eat and eat and eat. We both ate so much we were literally sick to our stomachs. Our first stop was Hashem, a restaurant that has been around since 1953. We had the best falafel either of us had ever had; pita and hummus and an eggplant dip; hummus with sumac, chickpeas, and fried pieces of pita; and Ful, which is fava beans cooked with spices. We actually saw it at breakfast on the first day, but it was translated/labelled “Foul Beans” which didn’t seem so appealing at the time 😂.
After that we had Knafeh again, cane juice, coffee with cardamom, and a shawarma. All delicious except the cane juice which tasted “like raw corn smells” as per Joelle. We also stopped at a spice market and bought some candies to eat later. I saw these candied hibiscus which I was very excited for, but they actually just tasted like raisins. We also chose these orange jelly looking things, which tasted terrible. I’m retrospect, I wonder if they were maybe actually soap 🤷🏻‍♀️.
We were so full we felt physically ill, and had to go lie down at the hotel for a little bit. We went to the spa and tried to nap for our late night flight. (The only real direct flight to Muscat left at 0225 and arrived at 645). It was the weirdest flight for a number of reasons. It was only 3h and in the middle of the night, yet they left the lights on, fed us a full meal (Joelle ate TWO!) and didn’t really allow us to sleep. There were also kids running all over the plane, and their mothers totally ignored the flight attendants who asked them to keep them in their seats. The poor flight attendant had to physically chase them down, put them back in seats, and buckle them in repeatedly. I predict naps in our future today.

Living with Losing You - 12/16/2022
It’s Friday, Friday, gonna get down on Friday. But also, today is 5 months...
This blog post will likely be shorter since there was not a whole lot that happened today. I did run again this morning, that was nice. Mostly recovered from the fall (lol). The usual work, meetings, PS for breakfast. I really need to be better about eating out, but I just really do not like cooking. And it’s the convenience, plus it’s delicious. Anyway, future Madison’s problem I guess.
I was supposed to go on campus to submit receipts for reimbursement, but that didn’t happen because I forgot it was a minimum day. I was supposed to do that yesterday, but I had a work meeting that conflicted with the time that I needed to be there. The struggle is real. Hopefully I will be able to go after break, but if not, it’s just a couple hundred dollars. The kiddos are worth it.
I did have a bit of a moment today. For some reason ATT (I updated the account info a while back) shut off the internet. I had to call and try and get that situated. Issue was that I had no idea what your security questions were. You always were so good about your passwords, etc. Anyway, luckily I eventually figured it out, well, I figured out how to get into your account to pay it. Just not something I needed today. That and the fact that they have my bone scan results and they’re refusing to disclose until I am authorized all over again to be seen by the oral surgeon’s office... Why? I already was authorized so the fact that they’re making me wait longer to disclose this information is wild. I had a good cry as pictured below. It was one of the ones where I try not to hate myself. Super healthy stuff all around.
Today I had my buddy Wil’s holiday party! He has truly been an incredible friend. I appreciate him so much. He was the one who took me to see Iron Maiden, and came with me to see Dwllers. He is also going to see Badflower with me in March! Likely, at least. He was also the reason why I ended up with Paisley. I wanted to do something nice for him, so I got his a gift certificate to the shop where I got Pais from, and then some chocolate and a card. I made him open it before the party because I was too excited about it (you know how it goes #chrimah). Also, I hate that people assume that a man and a woman hanging out is a date. Sometimes it’s just two really good friends that enjoy each other's company. Either way, this even was SUPER fun. I met a lot of really great people, ate a lot of really good food, and it was overall a fun time. Highlights would be the fact that they gave a shit about my gluten allergy and were very accommodating. Also, Wil and I made paper airplanes out of the drink tickets and then were trying to throw them into a cup.
If you are wondering where this event was, it was at Island Prime. Likely one of the fancier restaurants in San Diego. Not sure if I’ll be invited back, but it was fun while it lasted.
Wil had picked me up, so he dropped me back off at home, and I quickly changed into sweats and played a little guitar. Then, it was bed time. I am wiped!
Plus, I have a SUPER busy day tomorrow. Why do I do this to myself?
Rest in Peace, James Burton Nichols
You would have LOVED this dress on me. You have seen it before, but, it looked really cute tonight.

Today's food is Yakiniku Don in Nagano!!!
📍Restaurant DENDEN in Matsumoto city, Nagano, Japan.
⏰Opening hours: 11:30 to 14:30 and 17:30 to 22:00
I ordered dishes:
🍽️Grilled pork with ginger & Chicken Karaage Donburi(Normal Size) ¥750
This is the popular restaurant near Shinshu University in Matsumoto City, Nagano.
Because it's located near the university, it's especially popular with many students, who often come here for lunch.😁
There are a lot of different foods!
It offers chicken donburi, curry rice, cutlet donburi, yakibiku donburi, and the others.
There are three sizes: Normal, Tokumori (Big), and Cho Tokumori (Super Big).
Even if it is normal, the amount is quite large, and the size above the Big size is for big eaters.😅
And it's not just foods. There are many alcoholic beverages, so you can drink and eat at night🍷🍴
I ate grilled pork chicken Karaage Donburi.
This is normal size. but the amount is quite large🤣
Ginger grilled is very juicy and goes well with rice.
And the crispy fried chicken is very delicious with a sweet sauce.💕😋
It's not just meat. the vegetables make the rich taste of meat refreshing.
In other words, my mouth will be refreshed and the next dish will be delicious again.✨✨
I can understand why it is so popular with students. It was delicious❤️
I had a good time.
Thanks for looking at the post‼️

Day 2 - Portbollo Road, V&A Museum & Lamborghinis
Day 2 was off to a great start !
We ate some delish English breakfast which filled us up fully - and started off.
We boarded the TUBE and headed up to Notting Hill ( no i haven't seen the movie yet, it's in my que back at home). Took about 40 min to get up there but the time went by fast. Was even stopped by an Irish women who asked if I was from Scotland. 😍 My UK blood is strong in my features I guess ? Although to be specific, my DNA shows Northern Ireland. My family migrated over to Scotland in the 1850s then over to America in the 1940s. Ok, enough Ancestry talk.
After stepping off at the tube I realized I had my first blister. Yay 😖 time to find bandaids and an espresso. Stopped in at a cute coffee shop named “ Joe and the Juice” for the fix of coffee and bandaids and we were off down the street.
Today up at Notting Hill, they are having a huge market called " Porobello Market" - a market where they sell everything from antiques, arts and crafts, food and everything in between ! It was so much fun. I had a blast looking in all the antique stores and haggling with the flea market vendors about their prices and getting the history of the antiques they were selling.
After a few hours of walking up and down and buying my fair share of cool things, we needed a pit stop. So we stopped at a pizza place called “Pizza East”. Dustin ordered a pizza and I ordered an egg brunch thing. They were both delicious. Can’t go wrong with food here in London.
When lunch was over we packed up and went back on the tube over to the Victoria and Albert museum. The whole time our mouths were dropped open looking around at all the amazing art and relics. Just amazed at the amount of super large items they have. Including a giant stone pillar about 2 stories tall ! This has to be my favorite of the museums. I love everything about it. My other favorite part is the gift shop. Found a map of the Thames and some bee and flower earrings (Bridgerton reference anyone?)
Because we were in the area we had to stop in at HARRODS. Another jaw-dropping experience. I have never seen so many designers on one floor. Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Hermès… the list goes on and on. I would say everything was about $1000 an up per item. Except the chocolate. Which we bought three bars of. 😜 thank goodness chocolate doesn’t have a designer price tag.
Hunger set in so we decided to act quick and go upstairs to a little Asian restaurant on the fifth floor to have some sushi. It was honestly the best sushi we ever ate. But unfortunately it was not that filling. $100 for 18 pieces of sushi 🍣 was not worth it. Lesson learned. Don’t eat at Harrods.
After an afternoon of shopping at Harrods we decided to hit the Square relax and have a drink. We sat at an outside venue ( summer in the square) called “The Botanist” and both had a gin spritzer with elderflower. It was so so good. The USA needs to get in on the Gin train and start making some botanical blends. Yummy 🤤 during our time relaxing and having a light drink we noticed so many different cars driving by. We’ve never seen so much money on the street before.. cars like, Ferraris, Lamborghinis Maseratis, Bentleys… and oh man the clothing and purses ! Wow ! What a great little square to just people watch all the money going by.
Stomachs started rumbling again around 9pm (no surprise). So On our way home we stopped at a corner Lebanese restaurant. Best. Food. Ever. For 15 pounds we ate some amazing chicken shawarma. Really the best we’ve ever had. Sometimes a hole in the wall is really better then a 5 diamond sushi restaurant.
