do you ever look at an elderly person and see the wrinkles on their face and realize they’ve survived every hardship life has thrown at them. it is such a triumph to grow old.

a reminder that insignificance is beautiful. yes, we could be the only living things in the universe - yes, we are tiny and small when its the be-all and end-all. but think about what it took to get to where we are; thirteen billion years of cosmic evolution and growth that the human mind cant even comprehend, and here we are, in the middle of it all.
we're here, surely that makes us something.

I've realized that fear never goes away - that if you really want something, often times you have to do it afraid. And maybe this is the only way you'll ever get to discover your fullest potential. Maybe you just have to dive right in and face what scares you the most. Because in the end, it's not the rejections and failures that will haunt you, but the missed opportunities, the things you've always wanted to try but were too afraid of.

i love archeology for the sole reason of knowing that we've always been the same. we've always admired the stars, always wondered about the purpose, the creation, the higher power. we're connected by art, music, dance, laughter we've shared with eachother. i can feel our history in every handshake, in every smile, every tear on my cheek. we've always been human, looking up to the sky, wondering, searching for answers, feeling as alive as ever.

not right now babe im busy thinking about how ill die before learning all the languages i want to learn and reading all the books i want to read and consuming all the media i want to consume and going all the places i want to go and meeting all the people i want to meet and loving all the things i want and am meant to love, but maybe that forces me to enjoy the fleeting time i have left in a manner that would've been otherwise impossible had i had all the time in the world to get my fill of knowledge, love and everything in between

Little things I'm proud of ❤️
So, when I was growing up, I read newspapers every day. It's a habit my father taught me. I had a favorite paper called Metro (among others) and I'd read it every Friday morning before school (like an old man hehe) and I always wondered why there were pics of 'sexy women' on the front page because it made no sense to me.
But of course now as an adult, I understand that women are objectified for the sake of profit, and when I was doing my research on gender and media last year one of the editors candidly shared that young people (boys) are more likely to buy newspapers that have pictures of sexy women in them.

Anyway, thanks to my client who is very supportive of my ideas and approaches, I'll be working with Metro News and their parent company (who produce some of the biggest newspapers in the country) on how they can make their content more gender sensitive. This means no using women as objects for the sake of profits, this means no limiting women to sections on beauty and health, this means no posting pictures of victims of violence, this means more female representation in sections about sports and politics and the economy.
14 year old dani if you can hear me, Metro News agreed to work with you (and is willing to do better!). So perhaps there is some hope out there for a better world.
