Breathe: Part 2 (Final Part)
Bucky Barnes x Female Reader Two-Part Fic
Read Part 1 here.
Tumblr media
Summary: Bucky shows you what it's like to not be able to breathe. It's how you make him feel every time you risk your life, after all, it's only fair for you to feel the same way for once.
Warnings: profanity, enemies to lovers type vibe, oral sex (male receiving), maybe breath play??, dirty talk, fingering, mutual pining.
Word Count: 3.1k
A/N: I've been super busy over the last few weeks and truly haven't had the time to write, even when I've had the motivation to. With the things I've experienced this month I'm honestly on the brink of branching into writing angst. To briefly trauma dump, having someone scream and beg you to save a life that is hours beyond saving can really push a girl to write angst. Anyway, I should be able to write a lot more in the coming weeks and I'm excited to interact with you all again.
If Bucky was thinking straight, he wouldn’t have the image of his flesh hand fisted in your hair flashing through his mind right now.  He wouldn’t be thinking about kissing and sucking along the side of your neck as your hands work to unbuckle his belt and undo his pants. If he was thinking straight, he sure as hell wouldn’t be about to give you exactly what you asked for.
            Show me what it’s like.
            What what’s like?
            Not being able to breathe.
The tense exchange is on replay in his head as he looks at you with a hardened gaze. The tip of your index finger grazes over the skin of his lower stomach, just above his belt, as you stare back at him. Why did you ask for it? He can’t help but wonder within himself, why did you ask for some filthy variation of his cock in your mouth? Does it have anything to do with him? Or is he simply the only one around to give you one last adrenaline rush before you’re benched indefinitely? Does he even care?
Your fingertips slip more fully under the hem of his shirt and you trace one of his v-lines with the same finger that was previously lingering along his belt. Bucky takes a deep, steady breath as another image flashes through his mind. He imagines his hand tangled in your hair as you hollow your cheeks and take every fucking inch of his cock into your goddamn mouth. In this moment, he doesn’t care if you’re only willing to suck his dick in want of an adrenaline rush or whatever the fuck else is driving you right now. All he cares about is showing you how you make him feel every single time you rush out into the field, ready to get yourself killed. All he cares about is showing you what it’s like when your lungs are starved of air and you can’t catch a full breath. He’s going to fucking show you.
“Take it off.” Bucky’s voice comes out low and commanding in a way that has tingles running down your spine in an instant. As bold as you felt when you asked him what you asked him just a moment earlier, you find yourself suddenly unsure.
“What?” Your hand falters against his skin. Does he want your hand off? Bucky senses your hesitation and his flesh hand quickly finds yours and guides it back down to the buckle of his belt.
“My belt. Take it off.” Again, your hand falters. Bucky isn’t thinking at all when he lifts his own hand and lets his palm conform to the curve of your jaw, when his thumb gently brushes over your cheek. He has every ounce of your attention now. Your hands start working on autopilot, pulling the end of his belt through its loop and undoing the buckle with ease. Bucky’s thumb continues circling against your cheek, his eyes lingering on your face as you undo the button of his pants and grasp the zipper between your thumb and forefinger. “You listen so well when your life isn’t on the line.” He says, almost disappointedly. But then again, if you listened to orders in the field like everyone else, the two of you probably wouldn’t be where you are right now. When you start to tug his zipper down, he quickly places a hand over the back of yours and stops you.
Your fucking eyes. The way you’re looking at him right now, with that damn innocent look in your eye like you’ve never touched a man’s zipper before, is doing unholy things to him. Bucky can feel his cock hardening to an uncomfortable degree, and he knows you can feel it too with where your hand is resting right now.
“Maybe you should take advantage of that.” You whisper softly. Bucky narrows his eyes at you.
            “Of what?”
“How well I listen when my life isn’t on the line.” A small smile plays on your lips and Bucky finds it simultaneously infuriating and undeniably attractive. His eyes coast away from your face and down your arm, all the way to where your hand rests beneath his on his zipper. He catches sight of the hair tie you removed from your hair earlier still tight around your wrist. Letting his hand fall away from yours, his signature smirk takes over his features.
            “Tie your hair back.”
You never knew Bucky Barnes held so much power over you.
He can’t stop staring at you, studying you as you do exactly what he asked. As you tie your hair back, he can feel the tension growing all around him. He takes it on himself to pull the zipper of his jeans down, but he doesn’t dare to do any more than that. He wants you to do it yourself. He wants to see your hands, that are so small in comparison to his own, doing everything he tells them to.  Bucky’s eyes fixate on the skin of your neck, and though he has a plan in mind that doesn’t involve his mouth on you, he can’t help it. In an instant, his flesh hand tangles in the hair that you’ve just tied back and he’s pulling you closer. Every soft drag of his lips against your skin sends more and more heat straight to your core. His tongue darts out from between his lips and wets your skin before he dares to let his teeth join the equation. The first mark he leaves on you draws a sharp gasp from you. The second mark earns him an irresistible whimper. But the third? With the third mark to your neck, you moan his fucking name.
When Bucky lets go of his grip on your hair and moves his seat away from the steering wheel just a moment after the first moan that he heard fall from your lips, you both know you’ve reached a place of no return. When you tug his jeans down a little further and slide one hand into the front of his boxers, something in the air snaps. Your hand wraps around his length, barely able to contain the entirety of his girth, and his head falls back against the headrest of his seat.
“Shit.”  The hushed profanity tumbles past his lips as if he didn’t even mean to let it out. Without freeing him from the confines of his boxers, you give his length one stroke. Fuck. He’s big. He’s so big that you think you might’ve underestimated just how easy it would be for him to show you what it’s like to not be able to breathe. You stroke him from base to tip again and feel his precum gathering against your palm. When you do it a third time, his head snaps forward and you feel his hand in your hair again, tugging your head back so you’re forced to look him in the eye. “I can’t fucking stand you.” He says pointedly as your hand continues to move at a torturously slow pace along his shaft. You circle your thumb around the head of his cock and feel him shudder in his seat.
“I can’t fucking stand you either.”
“Then why the hell is your hand on my cock?” He taunts as his stare pierces somewhere deep within you. You say nothing in response, but you stroke his length from base to tip again, slower this time. “You can’t stand me but you’re going to suck my dick, aren’t you?”
Bucky notices the way your grip around him falters, the way you squeeze him a little tighter before your hand slightly loosens around his shaft. He can fucking smell your arousal soaking into your panties. He’s a pleasantly surprised when you decide to take initiative and tug the waistband of his boxers down enough to free his cock. It springs up against his lower stomach and you watch in awe as he pulls his shirt up enough to showcase his toned abs and keep precum from wetting the fabric.
“Oh my god.” You breathe the words out slowly as your eyes take in the reality before you. Just like you thought, he’s big. You could tell when you had your hand on it, but seeing it right in front of you? Even in the dim light of the supermarket parking lot, you can tell you might be in over your head. While you’re thinking you might be in over your head, Bucky’s thinking about how he’s going to enjoy holding your head down.
---
“That’s it, take another deep breath for me.” Bucky says, smoothing back your hair as he memorizes every single inch of your flushed face. You wet your bottom lip with your tongue and maintain eye contact with him as you do just that. You inhale a deep, steady breath just as he guides your head down again. His thick cock slides between your parted lips, glides over your tongue, and nudges against the back of your throat for the third time. “Fuck, just like that.” You still have a couple of inches left to take but you resist, your eyes fluttering closed as you gag around his length. Who would’ve thought choking on Bucky Barnes’ dick would be so fucking pleasurable? “All of it.” Bucky says lowly, pushing your head down enough to make you take the last two inches. He bottoms out in your mouth and a groan is ripped from his chest, making his shaft vibrate against your tongue. You moan around him and he suddenly curls his fingers into your hair and pulls you back. You’re ready for him to say something infuriating, something that’ll make you want to punch out his perfect teeth but deepthroat him all at the same time. It’s what he does best honestly.
“If you keep pulling me back, we’re going to be here all night.” Even with the taste of his precum on your tongue and his hand fisted in your hair, you’re talking shit. Bucky studies you with a menacing gaze, his eyes traveling over the features of your face slowly as he chooses his words carefully.
“I told you that I can’t fucking breathe when you do stupid shit, and you asked me to show you what that feels like.” He reminds you, narrowing his eyes. You nod in response. “Squeeze my thigh if you can’t handle it.” Before you’ve even processed the instructions, Bucky’s pushing your head down again and forcing his cock into your mouth. This time, he’s forceful and needy with it. He’s doing exactly what he said and showing you what it’s like to not be able to breathe.
Up and down Bucky drags your head by his grip on your hair. Up and down along the length of his sizable cock, reveling in the feel of your tongue against his shaft and your throat tightening around whatever he gives it. Your lungs are burning. Your eyes are watering.
“You feel that? That burning in your chest?” He asks, pushing your head down again and holding it still this time. “That’s how I feel every time you try to do shit on your own, every time you risk your life for no goddamn reason.” He holds you there for another second, until he feels a tear drip onto his upper thigh. When he lets you up for air this time, the look on his face is a mix of lustful and gentleness. He wipes your watering eyes with the pad of his thumb, admiring the fucked-out look on your face as you fight to catch your breath. “You take me so well.” Bucky coos. At this point you might as well not even be wearing any panties, because you can feel your wetness soaking through to your jeans.
When you’ve just nearly caught your breath, Bucky gives you a small nod before guiding you down again, gentler this time.
“Your head is spinning, isn’t it? The lack of oxygen makes it hard to think straight.” He’s right. All you can focus on is the wetness between your legs and the way the head of his cock keeps triggering your gag reflex in an unexpectedly enjoyable way. Does he know you’re enjoying this every bit as much as he is? Does he know that you’re wishing he’d done this to you when you were on your knees in that upstairs office earlier? As your head spins and the taste of his still-dripping precum lingers in your mouth, you imagine what it might’ve been like if those men had busted into the room when you were on your knees for the man with the vibranium arm. You squeeze your thighs together and surprise both yourself and Bucky when you nudge your head forward, letting your nose brush against his thigh as you take impossibly more of him into your throat. Bucky lets out a guttural groan and presses his head back into the headrest once more as he fights to maintain control over the situation. He’s just about to let you up for air when he hears a strangled whimper and then feels your body shaking over his lap. He’s quick to take his hand off of your head, thinking you’ve fully run out of breath, but you don’t sit up like he’s expecting. Instead, you start bobbing your head up and down, sucking his dick like it’s all you’ve ever wanted to do. “Shit, baby.” Baby? You’re deepthroating him of your own volition now, taking in as much of his length as you can and then backing off, doing that over and over again as he trembles in his seat. “You’re gonna make me cum if you don’t let up, shit.” He groans, cautiously letting his hand rest on the back of your head again.
Bucky isn’t the one starved of oxygen and yet he finds himself unable to think straight. He doesn’t realize he’s tugging the tie out of your hair until it’s done. He doesn’t even realize he’s sliding your hair tie over his own wrist, his subconscious mind planning to keep it as a souvenir. What he does realize, is that you’re as close to your own orgasm as he is. It’s why he doesn’t think twice about sliding his flesh hand from your head, down your spine, and into the waistband of the back of your jeans. His touch doesn’t surprise you, but it spurs you on. His fingers dance over the wet fabric of your panties, testing the waters as you suck his dick with a newfound fervency. When he pushes the pointless fabric to the side and plunges a single finger into your cunt without warning, you take as much of his length into your mouth as you can and then you fucking swallow around him.
“Fuck, you like sucking my dick, don’t you? Look at you swallowing my cock, taking all of it so easily.”
Bucky adds a second finger to your dripping cunt, sliding them in to the hilt as you clench around him. When you moan around his cock, he can’t stand it anymore. He’s quick to pull his fingers out of you and grip your hair tightly, pulling you off of his cock. You take a deep breath, hating that he stopped you but thankful for the chance to breathe normally for a second.
“When you moan like that…fuck. I almost—”
“How am I supposed to swallow your cum if you keep fucking pulling me off?” You ask, your annoyance evident in your tone. Bucky’s eyes widen but his grip on your hair remains the same.
“Is that what you want to do? Swallow my cum?”
“Bucky…” You let his name roll off of your tongue in a whisper as you lean in close to his face and wrap one hand around his throbbing hard-on. “Let me swallow.”
---
All Bucky can think about is the way you kissed him. The way you swallowed every drop of cum he spilled into your mouth and then sat up and pressed your lips to his, the way you dragged the tip of your tongue over his bottom lip before sinking back into the passenger seat has been burned in his brain for the last three days. For the last three fucking days.
He stands with his back against the cool metal of the elevator wall, staring down at the black hair tie on his wrist. He hasn’t taken it off once, he can’t.
You sit in front of your vanity, running your fingers over the fading marks on your neck. Is it wrong to wish he’d left you with some kind of permanent reminder of that night in the car? Is it wrong to hate that the marks he left will be gone soon?
---
You were supposed to be meeting with Fury. You assumed that meant Fury alone, until you found yourself seated right across from Bucky Barnes. You’re two feet away from the man that had his fingers inside of you three days ago, two feet away from the man whose cum you swallowed like it was a cold drink of water on a hot summer’s day. You hadn’t expected to interact with him again after that night. You were benched, after all, your partnership indefinitely suspended with you being taken out of the field.
When Fury walks in moments later, breaking the thick tension that was beginning to suffocate you both, what he says changes the dynamic entirely.
Not only is he putting you back in the field, but he expects you and Bucky to spend a week undercover in the lowest place on Earth: Madripoor. A week together.
When Fury leaves the two of you sitting in the conference room, the tension returns at full strength, swirling around the room and threatening to suck the air out of your lungs. It comes to a head when Bucky’s about to speak, about to say anything he can think of to break through the thick cloud in the atmosphere. He leans forward and rests his arms on the table, opening his mouth to say something, and that’s when you see it. Your hair tie from that night, wrapped around his wrist. His eyes follow the line of your gaze until you’re both looking at the seemingly insignificant piece of elastic.
            But it isn’t insignificant.
Bucky Barnes is wearing your hair tie on his wrist, and he has been for three days now.
When your eyes meet again, that familiar warmth begins to build low in your stomach.
            Tie your hair back.
He’d said it so authoritatively and you’d listened so willingly. Neither of you is aware that the other is thinking about the same thing.
The next time Bucky wants your mouth around his cock, he’ll be tying your hair back himself.

You feel the bed sink but you don’t say anything. He’s late again, of course, but you can’t even bring yourself to be mad, just grateful that he’s here and he’s alive, especially in his line of work.
Steve thinks you’re sleeping, so he doesn’t say anything and tries to be as quiet as possible as he stumbles around the room trying to get out of his ripped uniform. He curses a few times before he actually manages to do it, throwing the tattered fabric in the corner and hoping that he doesn’t have to see it for a while.
He’ll ask Tony to repair it in the morning, but for now the only thing he cared about was crawling into bed with you and feeling your warmth. Something he missed terribly during his cold mission to Siberia.
You have to say Steve is right to think that you were asleep, because honestly you weren’t all that much awake. You were just lucid enough to know that he was there, to feel his presence. But yet, your body was so tired from staying up all night waiting for him that you couldn’t find it in yourself to fully drag yourself from sleep.
Instead, you decided that you were content on teetering between sleep and awareness, not rising from your position. Eventually, Steve crawled into bed, giving a small hum of satisfaction as his skin pressed against yours.
He was warm, just like he always was. And he wasted no time before he cuddled up to you, head nestling in the crook of your shoulder. He peppered kisses along your collarbone to which you responded with a sigh, but even with his super hearing, Steve was too tired and too distracted to notice.
He had missed you of course, but what he didn’t tell you over the numerous phone calls was that on this particular mission, he was filled with a different kind of longing for you.
Steve missed you. He missed your laugh. He missed your smile, god he missed your very presence. But the one thing he just could not stop thinking about was your cunt, and how good it had taken him right before he left.
The sex replayed in his mind like a nonstop recording, Steve’s brain taking notes and savoring every single detail. Every kiss, every moan of his name had all been lingering in his mind and he hadn’t been able to make it go away for an entire week. The entire week that he was away, the only thing he thought about was coming back home to you alive, and what would await him once he did get back.
Of course, you guys always had amazing sex when he returned from his missions, but usually he didn’t show up this late. And since you guys were in different time zones, you had been staying up later than usual just so that you wouldn’t miss his calls.
This caused your sleep schedule to become a little messed up and Steve knew he would feel bad if he woke you, especially if it was just to have sex.
He couldn’t do that to you — especially not after seeing how adorable you looked with your mouth slightly parted open, soft pants leaving your lips.
He couldn’t do that to you. He couldn’t wake you, but what he could do was assume that you wouldn’t mind if he still had a little fun. So, Steve decided to do something that you had always asked him to do.
At first, when you first proposed the idea of him fucking you in your sleep, he had been a little taken back. Not to mention worried about the consent lingering around it. After all, Steve was extremely old-fashioned and fucking your wife in her sleep wasn’t exactly common during the times he grew up. Sex in general was a very sheltered topic, so it came as a surprise to Steve that you were so open and willing to talk about it.
He had been hesitant before, but now feeling how desperately he wanted you, how bad his cock throbbed and ached for your body, he figured that maybe it wouldn’t hurt to try.
So, leaning his chest against your back, he pulled you as close as he could against him before gently tugging on your leg and throwing it around him. Steve wanted your legs open so that he could pleasure you first before he fucked you. That way when the time came, there would be no question if you could take him or not.
Steve knew he was big, and often times if he didn’t warm you up, it was nearly impossible to fit himself inside of your cunt. You were just so tiny compared to him; but nevertheless, you were always eager to take him anyways.
This time though, you weren’t awake to strain yourself against his cock, so he had to do all the work himself.
Taking the hand that was most available, Steve used the pad of his fingers to trace your body and greet all the curves that he had missed so desperately.
He could feel your warmth as his hands traveled all over, sometimes tracing your stomach, sometimes your breast, and other times dipping dangerously close to your exposed heat.
Steve was in no rush, so he decided to savor everything, even inhaling your scent before his hand finally dipped between your legs.
The first moan that you let out was so sudden, Steve merely thought that you were groaning in your sleep. He didn’t consider that you were half-awake so he didn’t stop, using his long fingers to brush up against your clit and feel between your wet folds.
Even in your sleep, you were eager for him. The thought made Steve smile, loving that you wanted him just as much as he wanted you. It made his cock throb to feel your arousal and he wanted more. So, he positioned a single digit at your entrance, and lightly pushed it in.
“Mhmm.”
Even half-asleep, you felt the intrusion, but your body welcomed it as it always welcome Steve. With no resistance, allowing him to push the digit even deeper until it was buried in your cunt.
You let out a quick breath, but by this time, you were sure that Steve thought you were asleep and you didn’t want him to stop if you woke up.
So, you stayed still, lightly biting your lip to keep yourself from moaning too loud. Meanwhile, Steve decided to add another finger and you had to clench your fist to keep yourself from telling him how good it felt.
Slowly, he began to move the two digits in sync, pumping them in and out of your cunt at a delicious pace.
It wasn’t his cock, but Steve’s fingers were still thick enough to fill you up and definitely long enough to hit all the right spots, making your body jerk even in your ‘sleep.’
Steve smiled as he noticed the reaction, leaning down to press a kiss to the side of your face before slightly picking up the pace. He pleasured you just as he would have had you been awake: slowly, so that you could feel everything. It was no secret that Steve liked to take his time with you, and this was no different. He wanted to gently pleasure you and take it slow because you deserved it. And even though he was eager, his cock throbbing painfully against the curve of your ass, he had to be patient and get you ready for him first.
Otherwise, he knew he wouldn’t fit.
Such a delicate little thing you were — and so pretty as Steve observed your sleeping face. You were relaxed, no hint of stress or worries clouding your beautiful face. Dare he say it, you almost looked like you were…enjoying his pleasurefull assault, which only made him sink his fingers deeper, curling them inside of you and hitting that delicious spot over and over again.
It made it extremely difficult to stay still, and you found that part of your body thrashed even though you tried your best to keep still.
Even though you tried, your legs still shook, your core still clenched, and it was a miracle Steve didn’t figure you out when you came, seeing as the moans that escaped your lips should’ve alerted him.
But alas, you were glad that they didn’t as you were craving what was to come next. You could feel Steve shifting behind you, panting slightly and almost painfully as he slowly removed his fingers from your sticky core.
You felt empty, but you knew you weren’t gonna be for long. Steve scooted down and gently opened your legs even wider. He positioned himself right between them, grabbing his cock to line up it with your entrance.
And then, he pushed in.
You couldn’t help yourself this time; nor stop the mewl that left your lips as Steve sheathed himself inside your cunt, stretching you until he bottomed out. He was as deep as you could take him, and you could sort of feel your tummy bulging as your pussy struggled to accommodate him.
It had been a while; a week since Steve had felt you wrapped around him. Entirely too long in both of your opinions, and he almost came right when he entered. But he had to remind himself that he wanted to make this last; he wanted to make this special into make up for the time he was gone.
So, Steve paced himself, slowly snapping his hips back-and-forth while low grunts left his pink lips. Euphoria almost immediately began to cloud his vision as he dragged his cock along your walls, the squeaking bed hiding your moans.
You buried your face until your pillow as Steve fucked you from behind, brain beginning to wake up as well as your body. And honestly, you didn’t even care if he heard you anymore as you began to cry out. You just missed him so much that the feeling of him inside of you was driving you insane. You needed to wake up so that you could fully feel him, so that you could relish in the way he was touching you.
Opening your eyes, you started to rouse just as Steve began to pound against your sweet spot. You moaned again, the feeling making you see stars which clouded your vision. It almost felt like you were being blinded by the pleasure that Steve was providing you.
Your sweet sounds began to mix in with his, and Steve brought his lips down to kiss your neck while he quickened his face.
You could almost imagine the face he was making as his lips attached to your skin; nose scrunched up and eyebrows furrowed as he focused on not just his pleasure, but yours as well.
After so long together, Steve knew the exact ways to work your body. And he knew that kissing your neck was a sure way to rile you up. He knew that bringing a hand down to rub your sensitive clit was enough to make your knees buck; enough to make your hips jerk in pleasure as your body tried to run from the overstimulation.
He knew just how to cloud your senses, and he knew well enough that he had to keep you in place as the intrusion of his cock and the pleasure on the rest of your body sent you into a frenzy.
You cried out, a hand instinctively going behind you to grip Steve’s arm. You needed to ground yourself as you started seeing stars again, flashes of white hot pleasure traveling straight to your core.
Steve knew exactly what he was doing as he fucked you, and you found yourself trembling as your orgasm approached you once again. Again, Steve was going to make you cum, but it wasn’t like you had any objections as the coil in your stomach tightened.
Faster and faster, Steve began to rut into you like he would never have the pleasure of feeling your cunt again. He began to grow desperate, his own release creeping up on him, but not before you came he reminded himself. He was determined to make you come undone once more, and as the last of his strokes hit your G-spot, that’s exactly what happened.
Your body began to unravel from all the pleasure, your lips opening and sweet sounds escaping as you quivered. White hot and blinding, your orgasm took over you. And before you knew it, you were clamping down on Steve’s cock for dear life as you came with a cry.
You squeezed him and God, your pussy had never felt better; you had never sounded sexier as your release washed through you, swiftly prompting his own.
As your chest heaved, and as you began to come down from your arousal, Steve finally allowed himself to let go — stilling inside of you and filled your cunt to the brim with his cum.
He didn’t care at that moment that he forgot to put on a condom. He didn’t care that you weren’t even on birth control. All he cared about was the feeling that rippled through his body, the coils that snapped and caused him to almost fall over in his moment of pleasure.
Steve didn’t care about anything other than the way you wrapped around him, and in that moment it felt like he would never care about anything else.
Nothing else was as important as this: you pressed to his chest as you both came down from your highs, heavy breaths and scattered moans still lingering in the air.
Nothing else felt like it would even come close to you. No mission, brief or assignment.
And as he thought of this, Steve leaned over to survey your face, taking in the glow that seem to surround you. Finally, it seemed like he acknowledged that you were awake as your tired (e/c) eyes met his. Gently, he caressed your face and brought his lips to kiss your head again before cheekily saying,
“Well good morning, sunshine. I hope that was a good enough wake up call.”

lando norris was absolutely, most definitely, 100% the most insufferable person you had ever met.
in the beginning of the year, mclaren had announced that you’d be joining the team as a third driver, and of course people men took it to social media to express how they felt women didn’t belong in the sport. that racing was a ‘real man’s’ sport.
and now you needed to prove them all wrong, prove you were worth your spot on the team. you know you didn’t have to, that it wouldn’t necessarily change people’s minds, but you worked hard to be here. countless sleepless nights, crashes, tunings, everything, was worth this moment.
and now it was your chance. oscar had ended up with an injury after a crash in one of the practice races over the weekend, ultimately giving you his spot until he was recovered.
you and lando hadn’t really gotten along. you had found yourself battling with him on the track, the two of you going head to head in the garage after practices. you had thought his ego and his sarcasm was unattractive, whereas he simply just saw you as a threat.
but, deep down, he had a soft spot for you that he kept buried under the fake hatred. he didn’t actually hate you, who could? he admired your hard work and dedication, but be couldn’t help but feel like you were trying to take his spot.
“what the fuck, norris?!” you yelled, throwing your helmet to the ground as you stormed over to him. he wore a smug look on his face that you would’ve found attractive if it weren’t for the fact that he felt the need to cut you off in turn 5.
“what?”
“are you thinking with your brain or your dick?!” you shoved his chest, but he didn’t move a muscle. he didn’t even budge, just looked down at you with those stupidly gorgeous green eyes.
“you’d know if i was thinking with my dick, doll.”
“don’t call me that.” you gave him a hard look and he put his hands up in fake surrender, shaking them like he was scared.
and that’s where it all started, that stupid fucking nickname. every time he said it, it made your blood boil, made you want to connect your knee with his crotch. now that he knew how to press your buttons, he wasn’t ever going to let you live.
right now, your face was red as your blood boiled, sitting in the drivers room as your leg bounced. the two of you had it out again today, the crew immediately separating the two of you and telling you both to knock it off.
the embarrassment from your crew telling you to quit acting like a child replayed in your head the rest of the day and as you sat in drivers room, and slowly your anger turned into sadness. you sucked in a shaky breath, trying to keep your composure, but you failed. the tear rolled down your cheek and you sniffled to yourself.
but of course, the door opened at the wrong time, causing you to wipe your cheeks quickly before looking at who decided to barge in. your eyes met lando’s green ones, which immediately softened upon looking at you.
“can i help you with something?”
he licked his lips, his brain going a mile a minute. why were you crying? was it because of him? fuck.
“i uhm,” he stammered over his words, letting out a breath before speaking, “are you crying?”
you shook your head, wiping your cheek on the shoulder of your race suit, “no.”
he knew better, though. the door closed behind him as he sat across from you, “you don’t have to lie, y/n.”
the way your name sounded rolling off his tongue with that stupid accent made your stomach do flips, but you refused to give in. this is what he wanted, right? pull you close enough to destroy you and prove to everyone that you’re actually not good enough to be here.
“why do you care?” you asked, an eyebrow raising, “it’s not like you actually give a fuck, so can you go somewhere else with your fake sympathy?”
he immediately got defensive, “what makes you think i don’t care about you? would i have run over to you the other day at practice when you crashed if i didn’t care about you?”
you thought back to last week, your car going into the barrier on the track. lando had seen the crash, immediately following the crew onto the track and ignoring the drop in his stomach. you had climbed out, shaken up but okay when he reached you. he grabbed onto your shoulders after you tugged your mask and helmet off, your eyes distant as he searched them.
“y/n?” his voice was laced with concern, “y/n, are you okay?”
you snapped out of it, meeting his eyes before you looked down at your body, “i think so…?”
he grabbed your face into his hands gently, turning your face side to side as he tried to examine you. the medics pulled up, rushing over to you.
“it’s okay, we’ve got it from here.” the female said to lando. he hesitated before he let go, letting them lead you over to the back of the ambulance to check you over. you looked back at him, the feeling of his hands on your cheeks lingering as they ushered you in.
you looked back at the brit, shrugging, “i dunno.”
he chuckled, but it wasn’t laced with humor, more like disappointment, “okay,”
“why would i think that when you’re always trying to prove that you’re better than me?”
he didn’t say anything, looking down at the tile floor, “because i’m threatened by you.”
you scoffed, “tell me something i don’t know.”
“no, you don’t get it,” he said, sitting up again, “i’m threatened by you because you’re good. you’re insanely good. you race well, you train hard, everyone here loves you, the fans. you’re an inspiration. something i’ve always wanted to be for someone.”
your attitude shifted, looking over at the boy across from you. he wore a sad, regretful face as he played with the zipper on his suit.
“you’re an inspiration, lando,” you said, “the little boy who dressed up like you the other day? the one who said he wanted to be just like you?”
he shrugged, “one boy compared to thousands of little girls who see themselves in you. i know i shouldn’t be upset, you’re literally changing history, but seeing it makes me wish i was someone like you.”
“you’re right, you’re not like me,” you said, moving to sit next to him, “you’re lando norris, the one who got P2 in your home grand prix a few weeks ago, the one who goes out of their way to say hi to literally all the fans and take pictures with them. you’re literally someone’s ray of sunshine.”
he smiled softly, letting you continue, “be like you. don’t be like me, lan.”
his head snapped up at the nickname, “did you just call me ‘lan’?”
a smile spread across his face and you let out a soft laugh, “i guess i did.”
he smiled back, “thank you, though. i needed that. and, i’m sorry for how i’ve been towards you.”
you waved him off, the smile still playing at your lips. you tried to bite it back with your lower lip tucked between your teeth. he swore his heart skipped a beat at the sight. you nodded your head softly, “we’re cool. just pipe down the ego a bit, yeah?”
he let out a chuckle. being this close to him made you realize there was a hint of blue in his green eyes, the short stubble growing back from where he had shaved his facial hair. he was undeniably pretty and you were getting wrapped up in him and distracted. he was doing the same, his eyes scanning over every single one of your facial features as he tried his hardest to memorize them.
you smiled softly, “why’re you looking at me like that?”
he smirked, “you mean the same way you’re looking at me?”
you blushed, turning away from him but his eyes were still locked onto you. you went to stand up, smiling softly at him as it was nearing the beginning of the next race.
“i’ll see you out there.”
he smiled, “see you out there, doll.”
you shook your head, letting out a soft laugh as you let the door close behind you, the nickname no longer making your blood boil but suddenly making your stomach do flips.
lando norris was going to be the death of you.

brother's rival!sunghoon x fem!reader warnings: smut (mdni), unprotected sex, oral (f. rec), fingering, spitting, dirty talk, praise kink, petnames (good girl, baby), anything else lmk. ch. 7 synopsis: minhee comes to you with the missing pieces of information you need, leading you to find the courage to speak to sunghoon, hoping you can reconcile. wc: 14.9k previous | masterlist | next a/n: hi! this chapter is filled with plot and answers to questions so i am hoping it all makes sense. again, thank you for the love on the last chapter! next week is the penultimate chapter so everything is starting to tie up so please enjoy <3
Scanning the next customer's shop, your shoulders are heavy with sadness. It’s not ideal to be working the day after you just lost the love of your life but reality doesn’t stop for your problems. If you weren’t in desperate need of the money, you would have just neglected to show up.
You haven’t slept, your eyes are a darker shade than before, and the smile you couldn’t stop plastering over your face the past couple of months is non-existent.
Last night, you went home just like Coach Lee had instructed but you don’t know if it was the best idea. The journey home with your mum was filled with her yapping about how true love never existed and how she knew his plan was this all along. There was no sympathy from her, not a surprise considering her face yesterday looked like she just won the lottery.
Minhee, on the other hand, sat silent, fizzing from head to toe. Honestly, you expected him to be fuming since Sunghoon was the factor in your current drift from one another, however, you did expect an undertone similar to your mothers gloating; he should be telling you ‘I told you so’ but instead he seems less boastful and more resentful.
"Your total comes to £54.35," you murmur in a monotone, extending your hand for the payment from the elderly woman. As she counts out each pound coin, you find yourself retreating into your thoughts once more, replaying the events over and over again.
Sunghoon looked so sincere when he told you it wasn’t him on the recorded phone call. The biggest question that twirled in your mind was how your mum got the audio in the first place. Sunghoon's assertion that he was only friends with Jay and Jake, who wouldn't betray him, seemed plausible, he hadn’t ever mentioned anyone but them in all the times you have spoken. So, who could have provided it to her?
That’s what you should have questioned when you had the chance, instead of letting your mind loop in on itself and confuse you to the point you didn’t even hear Sunghoon out.
You want to reach out and ask him to meet you but it wasn’t just you that got hurt yesterday.
If there’s one image that’s sticking in the forefront of your brain right now, it’s Sunghoon’s face when he found out you lied to him. Perhaps you should have questioned everything then, considering how shattered he appeared. Someone who set out to betray you wouldn’t look so devastated that you hurt them, would they?
You're also gripped with anxiety that getting in touch with Sunghoon would make things worse and he'll reveal Minhee's actions to the National Board. It scares you to think of your brother losing his chance to skate and being disqualified from competition.
Space might be just what you all need.
But finding that space is proving to be a challenge when your mind is consumed by these thoughts incessantly. You feel utterly overwhelmed, your mental state crumbling, leaving you feeling helpless.
The old lady hands over the money, and you mechanically carry on with your shift.
Once it's over, you contemplate your options for where to go next. Normally, the rink would be your refuge, but it feels too loaded with memories right now. Rina's occupied with her anniversary date with Allen, leaving you with no one else to turn to. The library, despite being open 24 hours, holds no appeal; the idea of sitting in silence, trying to study, feels like torture.
With a tired yawn, you realise there's only one place left to go: home.
______
Kicking off your shoes at the door, you trudge up the stairs, each step feeling like an effort as exhaustion weighs heavily on your limbs. The lure of your bed grows stronger with each passing moment as if it's calling out to you louder with every step.
You notice that your mum's bedroom light is off, signalling that she's already asleep, while Minhee's room emits the usual blue glow of his computer screen. If it weren't for the ache in your heart, this could easily pass for a typical Wednesday night.
Entering your room, you're greeted by an unexpected sight. It's not as you left it; the bed is neatly made, your stuffed toys lined up by the pillows, your desk reorganised the way you like it, and all your clothes tidily put away. Someone has cleaned for you, a rare occurrence unless you're sick.
The one prominent feature of your newly organised room is the gleaming glass trophy on your windowsill. It stands proudly, displaying your achievement to everyone as they enter the room.
This had to be Minhee’s doing, your mum would never go to these lengths.
Unfortunately, the award just serves as a memory to Sunghoon rather than yourself. It was the night you became officially his, the night you threw all guilt and caution to the wind so you could claim him as yours.
Taking the trophy, you toss it in your top drawer and shut it roughly, not caring about the damage you could cause it.
With no energy to shower, you change into pyjamas. It’s a bad idea to slip into one of Sunghoon’s hoodies but as it envelopes you in warmth on the cold night, you don’t think about it twice. The smell of him still lingering as you put up the hood punches you in the chest. You miss him, it’s as simple as that.
As you sink into the welcoming embrace of your bed, the weight of the day gradually begins to lift from your shoulders, only to be replaced by a hollow ache that settles in the pit of your stomach. Closing your eyes, you attempt to banish the tumultuous thoughts swirling in your mind and drift into sleep.
You toss and turn, trying to find a comfortable position, but your mind refuses to quiet down. Images of Sunghoon's smile and the warmth of his hugs dance behind your eyelids, taunting you. Every time you close your eyes, it's like you're transported back to happier times.
For what seems like hours, your heart and brain fight with one another, much like the night before. Your heart aches to be with Sunghoon, to trust him completely while your head rationalises the evidence presented to you by your mother.
Just as you begin to resign yourself to another sleepless night, a soft knock at your door interrupts your thoughts. Minhee's concerned voice cuts through the silence, drawing your attention, "Y/N? Are you still awake?"
With a frustrated huff, you turn your back to Minhee, a silent declaration of your anger and hurt. Acting this way may seem childish, but this is how you’ve always acted towards him when conflicts arise between you, like you regress back to being kids.
Minhee sighs, walking to the edge of your bed before helping himself to a seat beside you, “You don’t have to speak to me but you can listen.” He looks down at his hands, wondering how to broach the situation, the words aren’t coming so easily, “I…I know I did something really shitty, okay? I shouldn’t have fucked with his skate like that, Mum just…”
When he pauses, your intrigue is piqued and you twist your head to look at him. You can see his internal battle whether to tell you something or keep it to himself. The rooted anger towards your brother grows a little, “This is the only opportunity I’m giving you to explain yourself,” you warn him with a hidden urge for him to continue.
He breathes out slowly, his voice carrying the weight of a burden, "Mum just put so much pressure on me to win, like all she’s spoken about was how I need to place first,” his words quiver slightly, a reflection of the self-doubt flooding his body.
It's astonishing how one woman can make both her children feel so worthless.
As you turn to face Minhee, his expression mirrors the familiar blend of anguish and self-doubt that you've seen on Sunghoon's face countless times. It's a painful reminder of the weight their mothers' expectations have placed upon them.
"Mini, you could easily beat Sunghoon at Nationals. You didn't have to listen to Mum," you offer, your voice laced with both empathy and frustration.
The issue has never been Sunghoon or Minhee; it's always been their mums.
Minhee takes a deep breath, steeling himself to reveal the truth that he's been carrying with him all this time, "Listen to me," he begins, his voice tinged with bitterness, "Mum needs me to win."
Your confusion deepens, leaving lines of bewilderment etched on your face as you struggle to comprehend his words, "What?" you ask, all tiredness suddenly leaving your body.
"The odds of me winning aren’t in my favour, so she put on a bet. She'll get shit tons of money if I win. She put basically all her savings into it, all my money too," his jaw clenches as he recalls the conversation they had.
Your confusion escalates further as Minhee's revelations continue to unfold before you. "Since when was Mum into gambling?" you ask, the disbelief evident in your voice.
Minhee sighs heavily, his frustration palpable as he struggles to find the right words, "There's so much you don't know about her, Bubs," he admits, his tone tinged with regret, "The gambling isn't even above board. It's all underground-type shit with high rates. I swear I didn't know anything about any of it until she guilt-tripped me into going along with her scheme."
There was no denying your Mum was a little secretive, especially after your dad left, but this is not anything like you could have imagined. You had always wondered where your Mum got the money to support Minhee’s skating but his brand deals were good enough to keep you all afloat, so you just presumed it was that.
Minhee sees you calculating in your head and decides to continue, “Once she told me, I started practising like crazy, I trained almost every day just to be in with a chance but she wasn’t confident enough so she told me-”
"To break Hoon’s skate," you finish his sentence for him, the pieces of the puzzle snapping into place with a chilling clarity.
You knew something was off that morning - the way your Mum was extra harsh on him, telling him to make sure he ‘gets it done’. It was such unusual phrasing that you should have clocked on to it sooner.
This is exactly why you didn’t want to tell Sunghoon about it. You wanted to get to the bottom of it all because you were filled with suspicion from the get-go. The thought of your own mother putting Minhee in a position like this fills you with a mixture of anger and disbelief.
“Why did you go along with it? If she doesn’t get the money, that’s her problem, no?” you query, trying to tie every string of this situation together for your own peace of mind.
Minhee sucks his teeth and looks away from you, “You know how much effort and time she put into my career, she sacrificed everything for it, her old job, money, even the breakdown of her marriage was because of me. I owe her this.” He’s withholding some information, using this as the sole his sole reason for helping, but there is more to it, you can tell that much.
Your chest fills with hurt as you speak, “The divorce wasn’t your fault, Mini. Mrs. Park started that rumour and it drove Dad to leave. That has zero to do with you. Plus, she pushed you to go professional when you were a child, you didn’t exactly beg her to let you compete. You owe her nothing.”
You know for a fact it’s her words that have made him believe he is the route of all her problems. If only you paid closer attention to what was going on, maybe you could have counteracted her venom with something, anything, to help him believe he wasn’t tied to her like this.
Taking one of his hands, you scoot closer to him, the warmth of his presence a balm to your troubled soul. Resting your head on his shoulder, you feel the weight of the world pressing down on both of you. "You should have told me, Minhee. I could have helped you."
He shakes his head before encircling an arm around your back, pulling you closer to him as if seeking solace in your embrace, "I wanted to protect you. She would have dragged you into it as well if she could," he confesses, his voice tinged with regret, "I regret it. I wish I just didn’t let her manipulate me into doing that to Sunghoon. I can’t tell you how relieved I was when I saw him at the rink that day we were doing the peer reviews."
It shocks you to hear him say that, considering he’s usually cursing the boy's name every time he was forced within 10 feet of him.
There was one thing that didn’t add up though, “Wait, if mum put the bet on, wouldn’t the bet be just to beat him? Why did she try and knock him out altogether with the skate? Surely that would cancel out the bet and she wouldn’t win the money?” you query, hoping your brother has the answers.
He shakes his head, “She never wanted him out of competition, just to injure him enough that he wouldn’t be able to compete to his usual standard, y’know? I would be in with a chance of beating him then,” he tells you, stroking your side, “It was touch and go for a minute, I don’t know what she would have done if he couldn’t compete.”
Underneath your head, you feel his shoulders tense up again, causing you to lift your face to look at him, concern etched into your features. "Is there more?" you ask, dreading the answer but knowing you can't avoid it.  He knows more than he is letting on, you can tell.
“Look, I’m going to say something that sounds so batshit crazy, okay, but you gotta believe me,” he says, his tone urgent, “And you know I’m not Sunghoon’s number one supporter, so you know I wouldn’t lie to make him look good.”
"Oh my god, Mini, just tell me, please," you plead, unable to bear the suspense any longer.
"The phone call was fake," he confesses, gingerly meeting your eyes as you give him a look of astonishment
Your mind reels at his revelation, struggling to comprehend the implications of what he's just said, "Fake? How? Don’t tell me you were a part of this too?"
“Fuck no, I was as shocked as you were,” Minhee protests, taking a deep breath before divulging what he knows, “I went searching after it all didn’t add up. Like, who the fuck records conversations like that in the first place, never mind sending them to Mum?”
You have to agree with him, the question also did come to your mind once you calmed down.
As he takes out his phone, Minhee's expression darkens with seriousness, his fingers tapping across the screen to reveal a series of emails. He shows you the correspondence between your mum and someone named Soohyun, highlighting the transactions and agreements outlined within.
"She paid him money to use some sort of AI to make it sound like Sunghoon was saying all that stuff about you and your relationship," Minhee explains, his voice laced with disbelief and anger, "It was one last attempt to fuck with him before the competition. She really needs that money, Bubs."
Shock courses through you, a tidal wave of disbelief crashing against the shores of your consciousness. The realisation sinks in slowly, each email adding another layer to the intricate web of deceit woven by your mother, "I-I can't believe this," you stutter, struggling to process the enormity of what he's just revealed.
Minhee gently takes the phone from your hand, returning it to his hoodie pocket with a sigh, "I know. It's like something out of a bad TV show, but it's true," he admits, his tone heavy with resignation. As his hand finds yours, a sense of solidarity washes over you, his touch offering a small measure of comfort amidst the chaos.
"To be honest, I had kinda knew it was fake," Minhee continues, his words slow and measured, "Don't get me wrong, I was livid at the idea of anyone using you that way. But on the drive home, I realized, this is Park Sunghoon we're talking about. He wouldn't dare to do that to you."
Confusion clouds your features as you furrow your brow, struggling to make sense of his words. "Huh? What are you talking about?" you ask, your voice tinged with uncertainty.
Minhee's expression softens as he meets your gaze, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "He liked you for so long, like for years. You were just so oblivious to it," he explains, his tone gentle yet matter-of-fact. "If he has the chance to date you, he's not going to take it for granted, and certainly not use you just to mess with my head."
As Minhee's words sink in, a flicker of realisation dawns upon you. Memories of Sunghoon's lingering glances and subtle gestures flood your mind, painting a picture of unspoken feelings that had gone unnoticed for far too long, "Do you know he asked me for permission to date you when we were like 15 maybe? I can't really remember exactly…but anyway, I told him to get lost," Minhee adds with a wry grin, his words punctuated by a hint of nostalgia.
Now this was new information. All you knew was that Sunghoon had knocked you back when you asked him out about that age.
“I had my reasons.”
His voice echoes in your brain as you recall what he said at the ice rink on your first date as an official couple. All this time, you had believed Sunghoon's rejection was solely his decision, unaware of Minhee's influence behind the scenes, “You told him to say no to me? Did you know I was going to confess?” Anger rises within you, not real anger but the one that siblings have for each other when one steals the remote control or eats the leftover food they were saving.
"Whoa, yeah, okay, but you have to understand I was protecting you. I don’t even know what Mum would have done back then if you started dating him, especially because it was so close after Dad left," Minhee's voice is laced with remorse as he hangs his head. "I know I had no right to tell him to leave you alone, but…"
The anger in you subsides as you see him slump a little.
"You're the most important person in my life, Y/N. You're my little sister, my best friend," he continues, his voice trembling with emotion, "He took championships and brand deals from me, fine, but if he took you away from me, particularly back then, I think I would have died." He avoids your gaze, his admission laden with shame at his insecurities.
His words weigh heavily on your heart, the depth of his love and fear for you leaving you speechless, “I’m your sister, Mini. He could never tak-”
“Hasn’t he?” His interjection silences you, “You stopped coming to my practices, we don’t hang out anymore, it’s like I barely see you,”
His words strike a chord, piercing through the haze of your own emotions. Suddenly, the gravity of his words sinks in, and you realise the toll that recent events have taken on your relationship with Minhee. You were so caught up in yourself that you hadn’t factored in how the distance would affect him.
Being caught up in your newfound relationship, you inadvertently left behind the one person who had always been there for you, the one who needed you the most. Guilt washes over you as you realize the depth of Minhee's loneliness and isolation in your absence. You and Minhee had been each other's rock for so long, but now, it feels like you're drifting apart, and you can't help but feel responsible.
A heavy silence envelops the room, thick with unspoken regrets and untold truths. You feel the weight of Minhee's gaze upon you, his eyes pleading for understanding.
"I... I didn't realise," you murmur, the words catching in your throat, "I didn't mean to drift away from you, Mini. I just... I got caught up in my own guilt, and it was easier to avoid you altogether."
Minhee listens quietly, his understanding washing over you like a soothing tide. His empathy is palpable in the gentleness of his gaze. "I'm sorry for putting you in that position. I guess I hadn't realised that trying to keep you from him was actually doing the opposite of what I thought it would," he admits, his voice filled with remorse. Bringing you closer to his side, he rubs your waist in a gesture of comfort. "I pushed you away and blamed it all on Sunghoon."
"You'll always be my number one, Mini. You don't have to worry about that," you assure him, offering a heartfelt smile in return.
If there were such a thing as twin flames, you and Minhee would surely be just that. In every universe, you both burn together, facing every trial and tribulation that comes your way. You're deeply thankful to have him as your brother.
“Did he actually like me this whole time?" You can't help but beam at the thought of the Ice Prince harbouring feelings for you all these years.
With a groan, Minhee pushes you away playfully, "Ugh, yes. He would NOT let it go either. Even asked me if he could take you to prom," he recalls with a mixture of exasperation and amusement.
“PROM? He wanted to take me to my prom?” You squeal at the thought, imagining Sunghoon awkwardly mustering up the courage to ask Minhee for permission to take you to prom. It's a surreal image, but one that fills you with a strange sense of warmth, “I had no idea he was that into me back then,” you idly play with your hair, trying to stop yourself from reverting back to your 14-year-old self as you imagine Sunghoon crushing on you too.
Minhee shrugs, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Probably just desperate, to be honest," he teases, earning an annoyed gasp and a few playful slaps to his shoulder. "Ow! Look, just because I’m not against you dating him anymore doesn’t mean I want to hear you gushing over him, okay?"
Your eyes widen in surprise at his revelation. "You... you aren’t against it?" The words feel fake as if you've stepped into an alternate reality where Minhee's acceptance of your relationship with Sunghoon is not only possible but welcomed.
Minhee sighs, raking his fingers through his hair, “I’m still not happy that you lied to me about it, and I am not his biggest fan,” he starts, eyes pointed at you with annoyance, “But he makes you happy and that picture you accidentally sent me was…well he clearly loves you,” It burns him to say it, you can see it in how his mouth cringes, “And after everything that’s happened, maybe I should let go of some of the grudges.”
You might have to clean out your ears to make sure you’ve heard correctly.
In one swoop, you hug him tightly, “Thank you, Mini,” You hadn’t realised the weight that you had been carrying all over your body regarding this whole secret boyfriend situation, but it’s finally gone.
“Don’t thank me just yet, you need to make up with him first,” Minhee says, “That should be easy though.”
Ah, there was that little hiccup, “It’s a little more complicated than that,” you say sheepishly as you scratch the back of your hand. Your brother stares with questioning eyes, “When we argued at Belmore I might have accidentally told him you broke his skate and that I knew,” your shoulders rise as you speak, face spreading with awkwardness and guilt.
“You’re so fucking stupid, Y/N. Why would you tell him that?!” He is exasperated by you, his hands rubbing up and down his face to exhibit his frustration with you.
“It slipped out! Come on, I could have told him well before yesterday. Give me some credit,” you argue back.
Both of you stare at each other, and the room’s silence quickly fills with your outburst of laughter. The tension dissipates as laughter bubbles between you, the weight of the conversation lifting momentarily. Despite the gravity of the situation, there's something strangely comforting about being able to find humour in the midst of it all.
"Okay, okay, fair point," Minhee concedes, a grin tugging at the corners of his lips, "But seriously, you need to sort things out with him, if he tells the board I’ll never be able to skate again,” you look at him incredulously to which he just laughs, “Yeah, I am aware of the irony, okay? Just please sort it out. If not for me, for yourself.”
Nodding, you cross your fingers, “I will.”
“I love you, Bubs,” Minhee stands and kisses the crown of your head, smiling in relief that he has his best friend back, “Tell him if he hurts you for real, I’ll break his legs next time.” Your mouth hangs open as he walks away shrugging.
The weight of the situation settles over you once more, but this time, you feel a renewed sense of purpose. You just hope you can fix this.
______
You find yourself standing at Sunghoon's doorstep, your hand poised to knock, yet inexplicably frozen in place. Why has the simple act of chapping on his door suddenly become so daunting?
A nagging voice echoes in your mind, whispering doubts about whether he'll even care, convinced that the damage has already been done. The weight of the colossal secret you've kept from him bears down heavily, compounded by the regret of not believing him when he insisted the audio wasn’t him.
Yesterday, confusion clouded your judgment, leaving you unable to think clearly, grasping onto every detail at face value. But amidst the chaos, you failed to afford the same trust and belief in his earnest pleas and declarations of love.
Now, the fear grips you tight: What if he doesn’t want to mend things? What if, because of some senseless scheme concocted by your own mother, you've lost the love of your life?
But you’re a big girl, you have to face this no matter the outcome.
With that mindset, you finally chap the door, breathing out slowly as you do so. The nerves sit in your throat as it dries out, the idea of losing him was just inconceivable.
The door swings open to reveal Jay, clearly just awake. His hair is sticking to one side and he hasn’t bothered to put on clothes, boxers being the only thing keeping his dignity. You suppose turning up to the flat at 6am on a Thursday would grant some disturbance.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” Jay asks, one eye still closed.
“I need to speak to Sunghoon,” you try to convey the urgency in your voice but it comes out breathlessly. You hadn’t realised you were holding in the air until you spoke.
Jay's sigh echoes in the room, his gaze drifting upwards as he considers your request. "I don’t think it’s a good idea, Y/N, he's kinda pissed," he cautions, his tone tinged with concern.
You understand Jay's apprehension, but you can't let the rift between you and Sunghoon deepen any further. The longer you both remain trapped in this mess, the harder it will be to mend your relationship. Time might heal some wounds but it won’t fix them.
“Can I just talk to him? I need to explain,” you plead, tapping your fingers together, you avoid his judgmental gaze.
Jay's response is swift, his conviction clear as he defends Sunghoon's character. "You didn’t actually believe your mum, right? Like anyone with a clue can see how much he loves you. He wouldn’t do something like that," he states, offering a comforting gesture by rubbing his shoulder slightly. It's evident that Jay is trying to rebuild Sunghoon's image in your eyes, a testament to the unwavering bond between him and his best friend.
As you stand there, you can’t explain your thoughts during your fight with your boyfriend because you still can’t make sense of them yourself; however he was right, you should have seen his love past the lies of your mother.
Nodding with a hint of shame, you admit, “It was all just too much to process, and I handled it poorly. But I have to fix it.” Despite the weight of your guilt, a steely determination underlines your words.
Jay sees it, he understands you didn’t want to hurt Sunghoon the way you did. Maybe he’s a bit more understanding of your own grief because his best friend neglected to mention that you lied to him about Minhee and his skate.
When Sunghoon arrived home, Jake and Jay greeted him eagerly, anticipating news from his check-up. However, their excitement quickly turned to concern as Sunghoon stormed in, slamming the door behind him with such force that it caused shelves to rattle.
Concern etched across their faces, his friends inquired about the situation with genuine worry as Sunghoon recounted the events involving your mother and the recording. However, he purposefully omitted any mention of the skate. He didn't want to tarnish your image in the eyes of his friends with his own anger-induced bias. He understood all too well that they might harbour animosity toward you for your deception, and the mere thought of it was unbearable to him.
So he didn’t bother to spill it, still protecting you even amidst his fury.
"I heard him leave this morning. I think he went to the rink, like he usually does to clear his head," Jay offered, unsure if he should disclose this information but feeling a strong intuition that both you and Sunghoon needed it.
Your expression softens with gratitude as you look up, "Thanks, Jay," you say, appreciation evident in your voice.
As you begin to turn, preparing to make your journey back to your side of town and into Belmore, Jay's voice suddenly pierces the quiet morning air, halting your movements, "Wait there, I'll give you a lift," he calls out, his offer catching you off guard.
Before you can even muster a response to decline his kind gesture, Jay is already striding purposefully back to his room to get dressed.
Left standing alone in the tranquillity of the early morning, the absence of Jay's presence allows your mind to wander freely. You had prepared yourself to talk to Sunghoon at this very moment but now you have a whole 40-minute drive to contemplate his reaction all over again. It’s scary, the idea of this being the end of you both.
When Jay finally emerges, dressed and ready to go, he motions for you to follow him as you both make your way to his car. You don’t know why he’s doing this but you’re thankful for the saved time, the time to get here was already long enough, never mind making the same painstaking journey back.
The drive begins in silence, the gentle hum of the engine merging with the rhythm of your own racing heart. Jay's quietness feels unfamiliar, a subtle shift in the energy between you since your last encounter, though not entirely unexpected.
With some courage, you figure talking to Jay might help you later on when speaking to Sunghoon, “I think deep down I knew he didn’t say it.”
It’s a simple confession but one you had to say out loud.
Jay spares you a quick glance before keeping his attention on the road, “He’s doted on you, like literally obsessed with you. Do you not see that, or?” There's a hint of irritation as he speaks. He can’t fathom why you would ever believe one shitty phone call rather than your boyfriend who would drop the world at your feet if you asked.
He hasn't witnessed every facet of your relationship, but from what he has seen, he can't help but envy it. He longs to experience the kind of connection Sunghoon has found with you, hoping to find someone who reciprocates his feelings in the same way. What frustrates him about the situation is the apparent disregard you show for his best friend's love. It's as if you fail to grasp the profound depth of Sunghoon's affection, while there are others out there yearning for even a fraction of such devotion.
You angle your body to face him before speaking, “I know. There was just a lot going on and…you should have heard it, Jay. It sounded so fucking real,” you almost plead with him to see your side.
Even Sunghoon had mentioned how authentic the audio sounded, so Jay knew what you were talking about. He simply nods to acknowledge you, his expression showing understanding, “What was it then? How did she do it?”
"Some AI guy. She hired him to grab snippets from Hoon's interviews and make the audio," you tell Jay, omitting any mention of the gambling or other family drama
Jay's eyes widen in surprise. "Damn, seriously? She stooped that low?" he says, his astonishment visible in his tone. All you can do is nod, aware of how absurd and unsettling the situation is, "AI is so fucking scary, man," Jay says, shaking his head in dismay.
You agree wholeheartedly, a shiver running down your spine at the thought of the lengths people would go to manipulate technology for their own agendas, "It’s so bizarre," you murmur, still trying to wrap your head around the whole ordeal.
The silence that settles between you both now feels different, no longer heavy with tension but rather mutually comforting. Each of you understands the gravity of the situation and the complexities it entails.
In this shared moment of understanding, surrounded by the quiet of the morning and Jay's silent support, you feel a sense of calm wash over you, in stark contrast to the turbulence that has plagued you since Tuesday. If Jay understands your side of the story, perhaps Sunghoon would as well.
Pulling up to Belmore, Jay stops the car at the entrance, “Y/N,” he pauses, collecting his thoughts, “You’re good for one another, and Jake and I like having you around, so fix this, yeah?”
You nod, determined and empowered by his words, “I will.”
_____
As you step onto the rink, your eyes lock onto Sunghoon, gliding with so much velocity that it sends a shiver down your spine. You can't help but feel a pang of worry, knowing he's pushing himself to the limit, risking injury once more. As you approach, beads of sweat glisten on his face, his hair clinging to his skin, a visual confirmation of your concerns.
He propels himself into a jump, the sharp sound of his skate slicing through the air, reverberating across the arena. However, his landing isn't smooth; his ankle bends awkwardly, causing him to fall onto the ice.
"Sunghoon, be careful!" you call out, running to be by his side. Ignoring the impracticality of your footwear, you shuffle onto the ice and kneel beside him, "Are you out of your mind?"
Much to your dismay, Sunghoon’s ankle is thumping, a superficial heartbeat pulsing through it. He might be able to go back on the ice but he’s over-exerting himself. He doesn’t look at you, focusing on his ankle, but he also doesn’t push you away, letting you undo the bandage to assess the damage.
Seemingly, his ankle is okay, nothing torn or hurt beyond what was already there, the bruise from a few weeks ago dying into a faded yellow, a promising sign but it still pains you to see.
Standing up, you offer him your hands for support but he shrugs you off, opting to stand on his own and skate over to the exit of the rink, “What are you doing here? Come to mess up my other skate?” His tone is sharp and accusatory, indicating that he’s still angry.
“It wasn’t me and you know that,” you defend yourself, slowly walking behind him trying not to slip.
You both successfully make it off the ice, Sunghoon plonking himself onto the bench outside. Going back to his ankle, you kneel and start the process of re-wrapping the bandage tightly, again with no protest from him. Hopefully, that’s a better sign of forgiveness compared to what his voice is suggesting.
Carefully, you discard his skate to the side and gather the bandage, your cold hand sparks a jolt in Sunghoon as you hold the start of the wrap to the back of his ankle. You take your time to eliminate any cause of discomfort which for the most part you succeed in.
“You kept it a secret, Y/N. Lied to my face,” he says through gritted teeth which you don’t know if it’s from anger or pain, possibly a mixture of both, “Everything wrong in my life seems to be because of your family.” The words sting because you know it’s true. As much as you would love to be excluded from the accusation, you know he’s right.
“I know,” You say lowly, putting all your attention on his ankle.
Looking at you, Sunghoon sighs, his body heavy with mixed feelings. Just looking at you now he wants to wrap you in his arms and tell you everything is okay, that he forgives you, but he can’t do that without some sort of explanation.
“Why didn’t you just tell me?” he asks softly, staring at you as if trying to reach into your brain and pull the answers out himself.
Adjusting the bandage with a gentle twist, you offer your explanation, “Honestly, I thought I was protecting you. You had so much going on; not knowing if you would make nationals, the argument with your mum, there was just never a right time.”
Sucking his teeth, he nods, “Feels like you were protecting your brother.”
“I was, in some ways. There was something so strange going on I wanted to try and figure it out before I told you. I wanted an excuse so you wouldn’t blame him for it,” you explain your thought process to him but he won’t get it, not unless he was you in that situation.
Yet, to your surprise, Sunghoon grasps the sentiment perfectly. Protecting your brother is second nature, ingrained within you, even on the first day when everyone discovered they would be combining the rinks, you tried to protect him from doing something stupid.
The only thing he doesn’t understand is why Minhee did it.
“Did you ever find an excuse for him? Or can I blame him for this?” he points to his ankle with his other foot so you see it. You haven’t looked at him once since you started to tend to his injury.
“You can blame him for it,” you start, pausing your actions as you wonder whether you should tell him what transpired, why Minhee did it, “Minhee…My mum put him up to it, to get you injured for Nationals so Minhee had a better chance of winning.”
“Shit, okay.”
Knowing Sunghoon, he’s trying to piece it all together to save you the explanation, but this is far too complicated for him to work out on his own, “This is going to sound so crazy, but I need you to listen. My mum is struggling to make ends meet and she got into some gambling scene. She put loads of money for Minhee to win, specifically to beat you and if she wins, it’s like thousands of pounds, enough to get her out of the debt she’s in. I don’t know how it works but it’s shady. She didn’t trust Minhee to get the job done on his own so…” You trail off, hoping he’ll put the puzzle together now.
Taking the safety pin, you secure the wrap and pull down his trouser leg, yet, you still don’t look at him, scared of his reaction. If you were in his shoes, you would not believe anything about what was just said.
But unlike you, Sunghoon knows what crazy sports mums are willing to do for their kids to succeed, his mum being a prime example, “Y/N, seriously, you should have told me.”
“I didn’t find out about the whole gambling thing until last night when Mini told me. Sunghoon, please believe me when I say he didn’t want to do it, he just…he thinks he owes our mum like he’s the one that put us in debt for chasing this dream, that he’s the reason for a lot of things outwith his control.”
“Sweets,” Sunghoon breathes out, grabbing your chin, forcing you to finally look at him, “I get it, I mean, I’m not particularly chill with it since my career could have ended but the way Minhee is feeling, I do understand.”
His eyes hold yours like they’re hugging you, trying to pull you from your worries and somehow it works. You feel a little lighter, his hand now etching its way to your cheek to cradle it. Instinctively, you lean into his touch, seeking his comfort.
“I’m sorry, Hoonie,” you state solemnly, angry and hurt that he was just a pawn in your mother's game, the relationship between you both strained because of her and yet you were the one apologising on her behalf.
You’re sorry for your own mistakes, but nothing was as bad as her tricks.
Sunghoon offers you a small smile, ushering you to sit next to him on the bench so he isn’t looking down on you. The symbolism of you feeling lesser is evident to him and he can’t stand it.
He turns to face you as you take a seat next to him, his hand resting comfortingly on your leg. “That phone call, I didn't say all that. That wasn't me, you have to believe me" he begs you to trust him.
"Yeah, I know," you respond with a bitter scoff, recalling the manipulative tactics of your mother. The skater's expression shifts to confusion as you continue, "My mum did that too, another thing that’s going to sound even crazier than breaking your skate."
You recount the incident with the AI recording, detailing your mother's desperate attempts to win her bet and her willingness to destroy your relationship in the process. With each sentence, his bewilderment deepens, his eyes widening and narrowing, and his mouth opening and closing in disbelief.
"Wait, seriously? It was AI?" he interjects once you've recounted every bizarre detail.
As he grapples with the revelation, you seize the opportunity to provide some comfort, gently wiping the sweat from his brow and pushing his dishevelled hair back from his face. The tension seems to ease from his features.
You pout at him, the weight of guilt settling heavily in your chest. "I'm really sorry for not believing you when all of this came out," you admit, your voice tinged with remorse.
He reaches out to take your hand in his, his thumb brushing lightly against your skin, "No, no, Sweets, it's okay," he reassures you, his tone soft and understanding, "She even gaslighted me for a second,” he suddenly starts to chuckle, “I thought my biggest worry was people making those ‘If Sunghoon sang Chase Atlantic’ AI TikToks.”
You laugh with him, knowing what he’s talking about. One day he came to you and showed you a video of him singing Slow Down which creeped you out and impressed you all at once.
The moment of laughter dies down, the break in tension creating much-needed relief for both of you. This whole scenario is so fucked up it’s hard to believe, you’re just thankful Sunghoon is so understanding.
“What about Minhee?” he asks suddenly, passing the confusion to you, “Like, how is he in all of this?”
Sunghoon’s concern for your brother, whether big or small, makes your love for him pound in your chest. Even after everything, he was still asking about Minhee which meant he might not hold a grudge, and more importantly, not go to the board.
Is it selfish to think that right now? To still be concerned about Minhee’s career?
Your boyfriend sees your eyes twitch, his telltale sign that your mind is racing, “Sweets?”
He breaks your thoughts, “Oh, he’s uh, he’s just stressed I think. I need to properly speak to him at some point and figure out what he wants to do,” you shake off the idea that Minhee won’t get to achieve his dream, scared that you might manifest it by accident.
Sunghoon nods, sighing deeply as he sheds any of the weight that was held over him. He wishes you would have trusted him when you heard the audio, but he does understand. Sometimes, he can be too understanding and he knows this, but it’s so easy to forgive or find reasoning for your actions.
Which will help you with your next request.
"Please don't go to the board," you finally confess, your voice barely above a whisper. It takes every ounce of courage you possess to voice the plea, but you know you have to ensure your mother hasn't irreparably damaged Minhee's chance at the Olympics. You need to see him succeed - he deserves it more than anyone.
Pressing his forehead against yours, he smiles, the warmth of his breath mingling with yours, "I won't, I promise. For you though, only for you."
The weight that's been pressing down on your shoulders suddenly lifts, replaced by an overwhelming sense of relief. You almost cry at how patient and understanding Sunghoon is, you wonder if you’ve ever met anyone like him before.
There’s a comfortable calmness in the air, his nose nuzzles against yours as he smiles contently, happy to have you back beside him. The past two days felt like weeks. It made him realise just how important you are to his life. He can’t live without you and never wants to be apart.
“So is Minhee…cool with us?” he asks gingerly.
Your face lights up as you lean back, “Actually, he’s completely fine with it, well, he said he still doesn’t like you but you make me happy. That’s all he wants.”
Minhee and you will forever prioritise each other's happiness above all else. These recent events have underscored that sentiment, even if it took some time to fully grasp. Ultimately, you both want nothing but the best for each other.
Sunghoon appears genuinely surprised by your declaration, his eyebrows shooting up, "Really? No resentment or anything?"
"Really," you confirm, observing his reaction closely. "He... he actually told me about forbidding you from seeing me all those years ago," you add, realising his astonishment at the news about your brother being on board with your relationship likely stems from the years of Minhee pushing him away from you.
Flushed, Sunghoon shuts his eyes, “No, he didn’t,” he winces at the idea of you finding out about his long-term crush on you.
“He did. Told me how you begged him to let you take me to prom too,” you gloat, a massive triumphant smile on your face, “You loooved me all those years ago, you have to admit it now,” you joke and his face turns even redder.
Typically, Sunghoon is being chased, so to have this hanging over his head in your relationship, he knows you’ll never shut up about it. He will admit though, that the look of delight on your face is almost worth the embarrassment.
“Okay, yeah. But blame Minhee for making us miss so many years together, okay? He was shit scary back then. I thought he was going to skin me alive,” Sunghoon recollects asking him if he could ask you out to the cinema, an innocent tiny date and Minhee, the scariest 14-year-old there was to ever live at that point, well to Sunghoon anyway, practically ripped his head off.
Prom was a mistake, he was simply asking if you had a date to prom. Yes, he was going to ask you if Minhee said no, regardless of what your brother would say, but the fire in Minhee’s eyes wasn’t one to be messed with and by this point, he was a gym-attending 19-year-old with an extra protective layer over you. Enough said.
You giggle and take his hand, offering him a sympathetic smile, “He was scared to lose me.”
"Who wouldn't be," he responds without hesitation, his tone serious and sincere.
His immediate reply catches you off guard and you do a double take, surprised by the sudden intensity in his voice.
Sunghoon wasn’t just saying it; he was petrified at the thought of losing you, especially after your mother's deceitful phone call. The look of betrayal on your face had cut him to the core, a pain he never wanted to inflict upon you. He loved you too much for that.
As you process his words, you realise there's a deep emotion behind them that you hadn't fully grasped before. Sunghoon's admission hangs heavy in the air, revealing a vulnerability. Your heart clenches with empathy, knowing that his dread of losing you is deep. You softly squeeze his hand, silently expressing your empathy.
You felt the exact same way about him - terrified of losing one of the people who means everything to you.
"I'm sorry," you say quietly, your voice full of regret, "I never want you to feel like you're going to lose me."
Sunghoon's gaze softens as he meets your eyes, a flicker of emotion dancing in the depths of his own. He brings your hand to his lips, pressing a tender kiss against your knuckles, "I know, Y/N," he murmurs, his voice filled with reassurance, “I’m not letting you go anyway, you’re stuck with me now.”
You laugh, shaking your head. There's a silent vow between you both to cherish and reassure each other whenever you have to, “Can we start again?”
“Yeah, of course, Sweets.” He plasters a genuine grin on his face, elated with the idea of putting all the negativity and lies behind the relationship and starting fresh.
You stretch out your hand, teeth showing as you smile, “Hi, I’m Y/N Kang. I’m your biggest fan.”
Sunghoon’s heart pounds loudly, you are his fan but to him, you’re more like an extractor fan. If you don’t have one of those, things go rotten and that’s exactly what it felt like without you. He needed you to such the poison and pain from his bones, he selfishly needed your love to make him feel alive.
He wants to provide you with that same feeling.
Taking your hand he smiles widely, mirroring your enthusiasm, “I’m Park Sunghoon. I am your biggest fan.”
________
The bleacher seats are your makeshift study space, textbooks and notes scattered haphazardly around you as you bury yourself in preparation for the looming winter exams. The chill of the air contrasts with the warmth of your determination; you had an award to uphold after all.
Meanwhile, your boyfriend is focused on a different kind of preparation. With just four days until nationals, he's dedicated himself to ensuring his ankle is in peak condition. Despite having twisted it just a few weeks ago, he's pushing himself hard, determined to perform at his best on the ice. When he pushes himself a little too much, you’re there to pull him back, or rather nag him to be careful
You steal glances at him whenever you can. Despite the injury, he moves with a fluid grace, his dedication evident in every precise movement. If you didn't know better, you wouldn't even guess that his ankle had been injured at all.
As you bury your nose in your books, a sense of admiration washes over you. His resilience and commitment inspire you to push through your own challenges. Granted, yours is a little less intimidating, the exams you’ll take will be confined to a week inside a study hall whereas Sunghoon is skating in front of thousands and being broadcast on TV.
Lost in your studies, you're suddenly jolted back to reality by a soft tap on your paper. Glancing up, you're met with a warm smile from your boyfriend, his eyes twinkling with affection, “You’re so serious when you’re focused,” He laughs, leaning over the barrier of the ice rink.
“Are you done?” You ask enthusiastically, hoping to get out of here and get the dinner he promised you 3 hours ago; your stomach wasn’t prepared to be denied food for so long that it started to speak to you about an hour ago.
"Just about, baby. You wanna go for Italian?" Sunghoon suggests, his eyes twinkling with mischief. His suggestion makes you smile; you've been raving about gnocchi for the past two days, and he's clearly been paying attention.
As you agree, his grin widens, and he leans in close, "Great, I'll go get changed and be right out," he declares, excitement bubbling in his voice.
Leaning over the barrier, Sunghoon puckers his lips in anticipation of a kiss to which you gladly oblige, pressing your lips to his in a sweet, lingering kiss. The brief moment of affection leaves you both with a warm, fluttering feeling in your chests. With a final smile and a promise to meet you outside, he disappears to change, leaving you to gather your books and laptop.
Packing the last of your highlighters into your bag, you hear the entrance door open. Peeking over the seats, you see a familiar face walking down with his gym bag slung over his shoulder and earphones in.
"Minhee?" you question, hoisting your bag onto your shoulder before walking over to him. "Mini?" you call out louder, ensuring he hears you.
Your brother jumps a little, clearly not expecting to see you at the rink. "What are you doing here?" he asks, a hint of surprise in his voice.
"Sunghoon's taking me for dinner. I was just studying while he trained," you explain, hoping to alleviate any concerns he might have.
Your reasoning earns a thoughtful hum from Minhee. It's still strange to talk about Sunghoon so casually with him, especially after keeping your relationship a secret for all those months.
"Is he here?" Minhee glances around, searching for any sign of Sunghoon.
"He's getting changed," you reply, nervously biting your lip. Despite Minhee giving you the green light for dating, there's still a lingering apprehension about them being in the same room together, especially after "skate gate," as Sunghoon dubbed it in an attempt to lighten the situation.
There is still some part of you that dreads them in the same room together, apprehensive to what they’ll do. Minhee is overprotective of you and Sunghoon is, well, he’s got a wrap on his ankle thanks to your brother.
Suddenly, the door to the dressing room swings open, and Sunghoon emerges, looking refreshed and ready for your dinner date. His expression is bright, his tunnel vision for you renders Minhee nonexistent to him. It’s not until he gets closer that he notices your older brother.
Once his eyes shift to Minhee, Sunghoon’s smile falters ever so slightly. He also doesn’t know how things will pan out but he knows he doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable.
“Minhee,” Sunghoon nods towards him which Minhee returns, “Are you training tonight?” You appreciate the civilness your boyfriend is trying to engage in, you know he’s doing it for you but hopefully, later on, he’ll do it because he and Minhee are actually getting along.
You can only dream of the day.
“Yeah,” he says sharply but there’s a wave of something in his eyes, something that happens when he’s thinking, “Actually, since you’re here can I talk to you? Privately,” Minhee glances at you as he says privately, indicating that he no longer wants you in the conversation.
Sunghoon looks to you for approval which you grant him obviously, hoping he’ll tell you what Minhee wants during dinner, “Sure. Coaches office is free,” he suggests, pointing with his head.
Your two boys stride over to the office and lock the door behind them.
Now, you could eavesdrop, and make sure no one throws a punch, but you’re trying to be optimistic about their relationship, so you leave them be.
Taking a deep breath, you remind yourself to trust in their ability to handle the situation maturely. After all, both Sunghoon and Minhee care deeply for you, they wouldn’t want to make this any more uncomfortable for you.
Fighting the urge to pace, you take a deep breath and try to distract yourself with thoughts of the upcoming dinner. Maybe you’ll have a glass of wine with dinner tonight, and try something new. You could get dessert if you convince Sunghoon to cheat on his meal plan for a night.
Who are you kidding? All you can think about is what is going on in that office, no attempt at distraction will help you now.
It’s increasingly difficult for you to resist chapping the door and pestering them to let you in on the gossip. What could be so important they couldn’t talk about it in front of you?
15 minutes pass but it feels like an eternity as you anxiously await their return. If one of them comes out with a black eye, you’re ditching them both, leaving them high and dry. You really hope it doesn’t come to that.
Finally, the door to the coach’s office swings open, all limbs and eye sockets intact, which is a good sign at least; however, their expressions are unreadable as they walk towards you. There's a subtle shift in the air, something lingering between them, though they try to maintain a facade of normalcy.
"Ready to go?" Sunghoon asks, his tone gentle as he kisses the top of your head lightly.
You nod and look between both of them, “What did you guys talk about?” There’s no grace of subtlety when it comes to you and your curiosity; you know it has something to do with you, you just wanted to know what.
Minhee and Sunghoon exchange a knowing glance before your brother answers, “Just giving him some brotherly warnings…right?” he says it so casually but his tone is cryptic. You know there is more to it than that.
Linking your fingers with his, Sunghoon grips your hand tighter, offering you some reassurance amidst the swirling thoughts in your mind. He knows you're probably considering every possible conversation they could have had.
"Nothing to worry about, Sweets. Minhee was just swinging his big brother ego around," Sunghoon says, his voice gentle but firm. There's a playful twinkle in his eyes that eases your nerves, if only slightly.
Rolling his eyes, Minhee sighs, "Whatever, Park. Remember what I said, yeah?" he tries to pass it off as banter, but there's a serious current weaving through his voice, catching you off guard.
Sunghoon nods in acknowledgement, a silent knowing between them, "I got it," he replies, his gaze locked on Minhee with a sense of respect and understanding. This newfound dynamic between Sunghoon and Minhee is unfamiliar, and you can't quite decipher whether it's a positive or negative development.
"Enjoy your dinner, Bubs. Make sure he pays," Minhee points to Sunghoon before waving you both off and heading to the changing room.
As Sunghoon pulls at your hand, leading you out of the arena, the silence hangs heavy between you. He doesn't offer an explanation so easily, much to your dismay.
"Your brother is a shark, can I say that in the most respectful way?" Sunghoon finally speaks up, breaking the silence with a hint of amusement in his voice.
You chuckle softly, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, he's super protective," you acknowledge with a touch of pride in your voice.
"He really is. He’d do anything for you…" Sunghoon trails off, his expression thoughtful. You want to ask what he means but you resist the urge to pry further.
"Are you guys okay? You didn’t fight or anything?" you venture tentatively.
Sunghoon offers you a reassuring smile, his eyes warm with sincerity, "I think we're besties now," he quips, trying to lighten the mood. You can't help but smile at his attempt to ease your worries, "C'mon, let's go eat, I'm starving," he suggests, kissing you quickly as you reach his car.
You are grateful they managed to have one discussion without throttling one another, even going as far as to make lighthearted jokes and playful jabs.
Baby steps, you suppose.
_____
Emerging from the restaurant and making your way to Sunghoon's car, your face radiates with laughter, tears glistening in your eyes.
"Did you genuinely believe she was asking for your autograph?" you tease, barely able to contain your amusement.
Sunghoon rolls his eyes, “Baby, it isn’t that funny. She literally ASKED me to sign it.”
“Yeah, the bill because you used your card,” as you say the words, another heaved laugh comes out, “You were so confident to think she was your fan.”
Crossing his arms, Sunghoon huffs playfully, feigning annoyance, but he can’t stop the smile from creeping on his face as he looks at you. With your face so bright and that beautiful song of your giggles, Sunghoon can’t stop looking at you, admiring you in this moment.
As your laughter subsides, you catch him staring at you intently. "What is it?" you inquire, noting the uncharacteristically serious expression on his face, devoid of its usual sarcastic pout in situations like these.
"I just love you so much..." he trails off, halting by the passenger door of his car, his voice tinged with vulnerability, "The thought of losing you was terrifying."
Sunghoon understands that you've both overcome the misunderstandings and manipulations caused by your mother, and you're in a better place now. Yet, the prospect of almost losing you because of it still haunts him.
You pout at his words, bringing your hands up to stroke the apple of his cheeks gently, “I hated it too. You’re so important to me, Hoonie,” you whisper, eyes softening at his words.
The months you’ve spent with him have been the best of your life, you could never deny that. Your relationship with him hasn’t been easy, interference from too many outside parties threatened to ruin it all, to rip you from your soulmate, but you will never let it happen again.
You place a timis kiss on his nose, “I promise that nothing will ever take me away from you again, okay?” you look at him with sincere eyes, hoping he truly listens to your promise.
He nods, closing his eyes with a serene smile, his graceful hands enveloping yours, imparting a comforting warmth. Foreheads touching, he savours the moment, soaking in the palpable connection between you both. He just wants to feel your love.
Never in Sunghoon’s life did he ever imagine finding love like this. Although he always knew he loved you, he didn’t know how intense his feelings were until suddenly you weren’t there anymore.
He smiles, eventually opening his eyes to look at you, your gaze holding nothing but love, “Will you come back to mine?” he asks as though this is the first date and he’s testing the waters to see if you’re interested.
“Actually,” you smile, pulling away from him slightly, your hands trailing down to fix the collar of his coat, “Minhee went out with Jungmo and my mum’s recently been going out at night so…”
Sunghoon's heart skips a beat at your implication, "Are you inviting me over?" he asks, his ears buzzing with anticipation.
You nod, a hint of nerves sneaking through as you bite your lip. "Yes, if you want to."
Considering the offer, he weighs the options carefully.
On the downside: it's a risk with your mum potentially returning home soon, the early morning departure could be awkward if he encounters your brother, and there's the potential for discomfort in the morning.
On the upside: it's a shorter drive to your place, he's curious about seeing your room, and it's the only location where he hasn't fucked you yet.
"Alright, let's go for it," he grins, the allure of the last pro eclipsing the rest.
Sunghoon opens the door for you and you settle into your seat and fasten your seatbelt while he slides into the driver's seat, starting the car.
As the car glides down the dimly lit streets, Sunghoon steals glances at you, a mixture of excitement and nervousness flickering in his eyes. The anticipation within him builds with every passing moment, the silence between you thick with unspoken desire.
With a playful smile, you break the tension, "Why do you look nervous?"
Sunghoon chuckles, his fingers drumming lightly on the steering wheel, "Not nervous, excited,” he corrects you.
You eye him up and down, “Okay then, why are you excited?”
Sunghoon lounges back as you hit a red light, taking the chance to look at you, “It’s like I’m entering enemy territory, like on those video games Jake plays all the time. I’m entering the red area, risking my life while I got on stealth mode,” he explains, getting even more giddy as he speaks about it.
“Hoonie, no one else will be home, I’m hardly sneaking you in.”
Shhh, it’s no fun if you put it that way,” he chuckles, placing a hand on your thigh, “When I forward roll into your entrance, leave me be,” he plays.
Luckily for you, when you both arrive, Sunghoon refrains from spy rolling into your house like he’s an elite operative. Instead, he is waiting to be invited in like Stefan Salvatore.
“Baby, come on in, nothing gonna bite you,” you giggle as you take off your shoes.
Following your orders, he walks in and takes a look around the familiar entranceway. Nothing has changed since he was last here, just before your ceremony; aka, he’s noticed not one of your award pictures has taken pride of place next to your brothers.
You hadn't shown your mother the pictures, nor did she inquire about how it went. Her indifference was something you had learned to accept, albeit reluctantly. It wasn't the ideal situation, but like Sunghoon, you had found solace and love in other places where your mother left a void
Coming to that acceptance was cathartic.
You lead him up to your room, a bright smile on your face. It was surreal to have this opportunity to have him amongst your creature comforts, like finally all the pieces of your life have come together.
Sunghoon stops you as you go to reach for the handle, “Wait!” he rushes out. Inhaling deeply as he jitters around like a boxer about to walk into the ring, each little jump and hand tremor making you laugh. You would mistake it for nervousness again if he wasn’t beaming at the door like an idiot
“Will you calm down, this isn’t anything spectacular, It’s just my room,” you shake your head, looking at him as he continues his jumps of glee. Nothing you could say to him would stop him from acting like a child on Christmas morning, “You’re such a dork,” you snort, placing your hand on the handle.
Before opening the door, you mentally hope you tidied up before meeting him today. To your relief, the room is cleaner than you recall, albeit with a stray sock and some shoes strewn where your wardrobe is. You signal for Sunghoon to come, and he enthusiastically skips inside, looking about with inquiring eyes.
His attention moves across the shelves filled with books and trinkets, the cosy bed with its assortment of plushies, and the desk cluttered with papers and pens. Sharing this space with him creates a sense of intimacy and vulnerability, as well as elation among you both. Having him here feels like you can finally call this your home.
Sunghoon's smile widens as he takes it all in, his eyes sparkling with delight, "This is nice," he remarks, his voice soft with appreciation.
You nod, feeling a surge of happiness at his reaction, "I'm glad you think so," you reply, watching as he moves further into the room, exploring every nook and cranny as if it holds some secret treasure.
Just looking around your room is giving him further insight into your life. As your boyfriend, he knows a lot more than most, yet, seeing your soul laid bare in these four walls is opening him up to understand you deeper.
From the 2 minutes he has spent in your room, he has just found out that you collect far too many earrings, your favourite highlighter to use is pastel pink, you had an emo phase that you neglected to tell him, and you’ve been to 4 fan signs for TO1. It’s tiny, insignificant details, but Sunghoon wants to know it all.
His eyes happen to fall on a picture of you and Minhee when you were kids, “I remember this!” he exclaims, fangs showing as he twists the picture to show you as if you don’t see it literally every morning, “This was the Youth of Skating competition when we were 13,” he reminisces.
"Wasn't I just adorable?" you remark, playfully cupping your cheeks and flashing a wide grin as you try to mimic your younger self captured in the photo.
With a laugh, Sunghoon gently sets the frame back on your desk, nodding in agreement, “The prettiest one in the crowd by far,” he murmurs in a soft tone, mirroring your joy. It's as if your face radiates sunlight, and he basks in your vibrant glow.
Closing the distance between you, he replaces your hands with his own, leaning in to kiss you. His lips are tender as they meld with yours, his touch gentle as he affectionately squishes your cheeks, “You’re still the most beautiful person I have ever seen.”
Your heart quickens as he whispers sweet nothings into your mouth, his words mingling with the gentle exploration of his tongue, "I don't buy it," you tease, playfully pushing his hands away from your red cheeks, "You'll have to prove it to me," you challenge with a mischievous glint in your eyes.
A playful smirk dances across Sunghoon's lips as he accepts your challenge, his eyes sparkling with determination. With a soft chuckle, he gently captures your hands in his, intertwining your fingers as he pulls you closer.
"Oh, I intend to," he murmurs, his voice husky with desire. Leaning in, he presses another lingering kiss to your lips, his touch sending shivers down your spine. Slowly, he trails his lips along your jawline, leaving a trail of feather-light kisses in his wake.
He takes off his jacket, tossing it on your desk chair all the while he’s nipping at your neck. As his hands swiftly remove his t-shirt, revealing his sculpted bare chest, your eyes are drawn to the faded hickeys scattered across his skin. You had really done a number on him a couple of weeks ago, the purple still tinting his pecks.
Before you can fully appreciate the sight, he bends down, effortlessly scooping you up, his lips showering kisses all over your face. Your breath catches at the warmth of his touch sending a flush to your cheeks, "Sunghoon," you gasp, feeling his urgency mirrored in your own desire.
Laying you gently on the bed, his chest pressed against yours, he trails his hands up and down your body, igniting flames of longing with each touch, "I know, Sweets," he murmurs, his voice laced with possessiveness, "You want me to fuck you, yeah? Prove to you that you’re the most gorgeous girl?"
“Yes,” you huff out desperately.
“Then be a good girl. You can do that for me, baby, can’t you?” he whispers into your neck, licking a stripe up your vein.
His words dance down to your pussy, arousal pooling between your legs as you eagerly nod in agreement. His confidence mixed with his praises only fuels your desire, the promise of being his good girl setting your pulse racing.
In a flurry of movement, his trousers and boxers are discarded, and he wastes no time in removing your jeans and underwear, leaving you bare and exposed to his hungry gaze. As he kisses up the tender skin of your inner thigh, his proximity to your centre sends waves of anticipation coursing through you.
“My beautiful girl, you’re all mine,” Sunghoon’s voice is low and smooth like butter.
The vibrations from his words send a jolt of need straight to your core, the ache for his touch almost unbearable. As he teasingly presses a delicate kiss to your clit, you whimper in longing, your body yearning for the fulfilment only he can provide.
His hands slide up to the top of your thighs, holding them down and apart as he nibbles gently at the sensitive skin of your inner thigh. A shiver of anticipation courses through you as your hips instinctively push up, yearning for the touch of his mouth where you need it most.
Sunghoon responds with soft, warm kisses across your core, each one sending waves of pleasure rippling through your body. Then, with deliberate slowness, he traces his tongue upwards, sending a shudder of delight through you as he explores every inch of your pussy.
Kneading your hands through his hair, you grip tight as you beg for more and Sunghoon has no problem granting your wishes, kitten-licking your slit as he laps up your wetness.
When he is going down on you, he is like a man possessed but now it’s much worse. He hasn’t tasted your essence properly since the breakup/makeup. Your boyfriend doesn’t like to go too long without your taste on his tongue, so here he is making up for lost time as he lays his tastebuds flat against your cunt, savouring every drop of you.
You pull his head back by his hair, eliciting a moan from him as you do so, the sensation of each strand being in your command causes his dick to jump in, “Fuck, Sweets,” he hisses, licking his lips clean as he looks up at you through hooded eyes, “Tell me what you want.”
But he already knows what you want, because, without your answer, he’s gathering saliva in his mouth before spitting it on your throbbing pussy, his fingers lathering you in it, “Go on, tell me,” he mutters onto your clit, digging his teeth onto it just enough for you to buck your hips onto his face.
“Fingers, Hoonie, I want your fingers. Please,” you plead, holding your hips up to his mouth in a desperate attempt to get some release of your friction.
“Not only are you gorgeous,” Sunghoon’s fingers find their way to your entrance, circling it teasingly, “You’re my obedient, perfect girl.”
Sunghoon smoothly slides his fingers inside you, opening you up and filling you with a sweet sensation. His attention never leaves your face as he looks for your reactions, making every movement pleasurable for you.
He sees your lips falling wide and your head cocking back in ecstasy as an indication to continue. His fingers hook into you, gliding back and forth in a smooth and luring pace that matches the rhythm of your desire, and caressing you just the way you like it. Each stroke sends waves of pleasure through your body, creating a fire of passion that becomes hotter with each enticing movement.
You're a moaning mess as Sunghoon expertly finds your sweet spot, thrusting his fingers harshly as he works it with precision, "Let it all out, baby," he encourages, his voice sending your head into a tizzy, "Show me how I'm making you feel."
His words alone could send you tipping over the edge, but it's the sensation of his tongue flicking your clit and the gentle suction that has you screaming his name loud enough for the whole neighbourhood to hear. Sunghoon doesn't stop you, revelling in the melodic sound of his name falling from your lips like a symphony of desire.
"That's it, angel, you're doing so good for me," he praises, his words only spurring you on further. The two fingers inside you continue their relentless rhythm, driving you to the brink of ecstasy with each delicious stroke.
Your hands instinctively push him further into your cunt as you ride his face, Sunghoon's skilled ministrations bring you closer and closer to your climax, and his tongue and fingers dance in perfect rhythm, driving you to contentment with each delicious motion. The overwhelming sensation clouds your thoughts, leaving you lost in a haze of pleasure that makes your mouth water with anticipation.
With a final, electrifying thrust of his fingers and a gentle nibble at your clit, you hit the edge of release, your chest and tummy tightening. And then, with a guttural moan that bounces throughout the room, you finally succumb to the overwhelming wave of pleasure that crashes over you, leaving you trembling and breathless in its wake.
Sunghoon continues to worship you with his mouth and fingers, guiding you through the aftershocks of your orgasm with tender care and devotion. Each touch, each kiss, each whispered word of praise only serves to deepen the connection between you.
He sucks and swallows your juices, smiling as he does so. Your walls have trapped his two digits inside you as you squeeze him tight, “Baby, relax for me,” he kisses up your stomach in an attempt to get your body to yield but your orgasm is too intense, “Shh, Y/N, breathe out for me beautiful,” he whispers as his face meets yours.
Opening your eyes, you see his gentle smile and etch a blissful one onto yours, his adoring gaze instantly rippling through your bones, helping your muscles to unknot themselves. The power he has over you is crazy.
"Told you I would prove it," Sunghoon chuckles softly, pressing a peck on the tip of your nose as he finally frees his hand from you. Shaking your head with a satisfied smile, you exhale deeply, prompting him to tilt his head inquisitively.
"Oh? Have I not done enough?" he questions, his expression filled with amusement.
"Nope," you reply smugly, popping the 'p' for emphasis, "You could do more to prove it."
Sunghoon feigns contemplation, his lips quirking to the side in mock thought, "I see, hmm…" he muses, his gaze scanning you from head to toe before he suddenly sits you up and onto his lap, taking your useless top off.
His favourite playthings are now sitting directly at eye level and Sunghoon feels spoilt for choice of what one to show attention to first. Left has always been his favourite, there wasn’t a particular reason as to why, he just instinctively went for it every time.
Before he can delve his mouth to attach to your perky nipple, you surprise him by gripping his shoulders with one hand while the other strokes his cock between your bodies. In reaction, his shoulders and back hunch over, his head now buried between your mounds.
Your slicked hand pumps him at a vicious pace, yet the gentleness of your hand causes no discomfort. After all these months together, you know how he likes it, fast and rough with extra attention to his tip; so that’s what you do, after every fourth stroke you swipe your palm over his head, the soft skin now tinted red with need.
“Sweets,” he murmurs between your breasts, his tongue licking the valley like a helpless dog, “Let me be inside you, fuck I need it so bad,” he almost whimpers as you squeeze him.
Part of you wants to keep going and tease him but your heat is leaking for him, crying out to be stuffed by his cock.
You lift your hips and guide him to your entrance, slowly sinking onto him, “Jesus,” you hiss out, his cock stretching you much wider than his previous fingers.
The pace you set is deliberate and unhurried as you savour the feeling of his thick shaft piercing into you, battering your cervix each time you slam down onto him. Sunghoon groans at the way your channel is enveloping him, moulding around him like a perfect fit.
With each withdrawal, the tip of his cock catches on your entrance, teasingly, before he plunges back in, eliciting desperate pleas for more from your lips, "Hoonie, please, faster," you beg, your desire driving you wild.
It’s time for Sunghoon to take charge, his hands clasp around your back as he pulls you further into his chest, gripping onto your skin as he goes at you relentlessly. He delves so deeply inside you that the sensation becomes overwhelming, a heady mix of pleasure and need. Sunghoon's hand moves from your back to brush against your overstimulated clit, sending jolts of electricity coursing through your body, causing you to writhe on his lap, "Sunghoon, please," you whimper, your voice laced with desperation.
"What is it, baby?" Sunghoon's voice, soft-spoken and tender, stands in stark contrast to the force of his thrusts, each one pounding relentlessly against your core.
"Close," you gasp out, the intensity of your impending climax threatening to overwhelm you once again. If it were any other time, you might feel embarrassed by how quickly you're reaching the peak of ecstasy, but you know Sunghoon would understand. And he does because he feels the same way.
Both of you have tangled in sheets for long enough that you both know one another’s body like the back of your hands. That, added in with the withdrawals, of course you were both cumming quickly. Neither of you particularly minded since it wasn’t exactly a hindrance but rather served as just another notch to add to the endless list of climaxes you could potentially have.
The day that one orgasm halts your sexcapades for the night, is the day Ghostface will stop being hot. Never.
Sunghoon spits on your folds, his movements primitive but intentional. His fingers rubbed saliva into your delicate skin, focusing their attention on your swollen clit, pushing you to the verge of your high. These sensations are almost too intense to take, with his rough touch on your bud and the power of his cock ramming into your walls battering you in the most delicious way possible.
The other hand on your back trails its way to your left hand, clasping it in his as he intertwines your fingers, kissing your knuckles as he stares at you, love shining through, “I love you so fucking much,” he whispers out, his hips faltering slightly as he declares his adoration for you.
Nodding, you bite your lip, prying your eyes open to look into his, “I love you too, Hoonie,” you confess back to him, hips also losing their rhythm as you struggle to focus on anything other than the coil in your stomach.
You bring your lips to his hand, mimicking his earlier actions, “Cum with me, Sunghoon,” you whisper into the back of his hand, your lips parted as you suck in a deep breath, ready for release.
Your body convulses with pleasure as waves of ecstasy wash over you, leaving you trembling and breathless in their wake. Sunghoon holds you close, his touch gentle yet possessive as he guides you through the aftershocks of your climax with tender care.
Sunghoon kisses you hungrily, his lips engulfing yours in a passionate embrace as your words push him over the edge. With feral zeal, he releases his seed in you, the white strands of his desire flying straight into your depths and blending with your own release.
Your bodies melt together in the heat of passion and you both cry one other's names along with a stream of curses, lost in the throes of pleasure and need. Sunghoon punctuates each passionate proclamation with two simple utterings of "I love you," ensuring that his words are conveyed sincerely
As you come down from the euphoric high, you find yourself enveloped in Sunghoon's embrace, his love and adoration surrounding you like a warm blanket on a cold night. In this moment, with him by your side, you feel truly complete, knowing that you are loved and cherished beyond measure.
Laying you down, Sunghoon, slides out of you gently, making sure he doesn’t hurt you, “Sweets, where is your bathroom?” he asks but you’re still too fucked out to comprehend his question, leaving him to figure it out on his own, “Stay here, baby, I’ll be back,” he instructs, putting on his boxers and tucking his semi-hard cock into them.
Leaning an ear to the door, Sunghoon assesses if anyone magically came home while you two were going at it like animals. The silence he hears elicits relief into his body as he opens the door, confident no other member of the Kang family will see his practically naked figure.
Opening a few doors through trial and error, he stumbles into Minhee’s room. The curiosity within him leads him to look around, hand searching for the light. Once he switches it on, he sees exactly what he was expecting, a clutter of mess placed in every corner. It’s similar to his room, decor-wise, but there’s one thing that he notices, standing prominent on Minhee’s nightstand.
Sunghoon reaches for the picture of you at 3 years old, sleeping next to your older brother, hugging one another tightly. You’re wearing matching pyjamas and smiles with no cares in the world. He knows your bond with Minhee is strong, stronger than most siblings; he thinks perhaps that’s why it was so easy to forgive you for lying to him. Seeing this picture now only punctuates his thoughts.
And after his conversation with Minhee today, he knows you would both do anything to protect one another.
“What are you doing in here?” you ask, hugging him from behind. Your eyes stare at the picture in the frame and you laugh, “Oh my days, Minhee and I were so young back then,” you fondly pout.
Sunghoon wraps an arm around your shoulder, “I was looking for the bathroom to get you cleaned up but I came across his room,” he admits sheepishly, rubbing your shoulder.
“Hmm,” you acknowledge, taking the frame and placing it back on the desk. You pause your motions as you look around his desk. It had been a long time since you had been in your brother's room, possibly 2 years, but you don’t remember all of the clutter on his worktop.
Picking up the paper fortune teller, you can't help but laugh at the whimsical relic of your childhood, "I didn't know he kept all this stuff," you say wistfully, your fingers tracing the faded creases of the paper. Memories flood your mind as you recall the countless hours spent crafting these simple yet cherished treasures with your brother.
Your gaze then falls upon the painting, a colourful masterpiece that holds a special place in your heart despite its simplistic charm. "And look at this," you remark, your voice tinged with nostalgia. "I remember making this in nursery. It was supposed to be a house, but I’m clearly no Picasso," you chuckle, the memory bringing warmth to your heart.
Putting it back, you see the picture you sent him from your award ceremony, sitting proudly next to his mouse, “He printed this out?” you ask no one, “I thought this would be the last picture he would want to see every day.”
The picture didn’t just represent your achievement, it represented the lies you sat in for months without Minhee knowing. This picture was amongst the bunch that had you and Sunghoon sitting happily in love, an accidental click that exposed your deceit.
Sunghoon kisses your temple, “He’s proud of you, baby,” he says, trying to ease your tense shoulders, “That night, sure, the aftermath was a shitshow. But you still achieved something amazing, and he’s proud.”
His words lighten you a little, a smile creeping on your face as you put it back. Shaking your emotions away, you look up at your boyfriend, “Let’s get out of here, I’ll show you where the bathroom is.” You push him out of Minhee’s bedroom, closing the door behind you.
“While you’re up,” Sunghoon follows you, hand in yours, “Why don’t we just take a shower?” he suggests, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously.
You roll your eyes and open up the bathroom door, “Fine, but only quickly, last time I started to shrivel up like a prune with how long you kept me in there,” you joke, turning the light on.
Sunghoon smirks, “I promise, I’ll be quick,” he leans down to your ear, “I’ll just make sure I go at you rough and hard, hmm?”

𝐈𝐍 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐇... Luke discovers the three times he denied his feelings for you, and the one time he accepted them.

Tumblr media
Incident One: The Nurses Station
Luke knows that you’re annoyed with him, it was written all over your face. You wouldn’t say it aloud, of course not, you were too sweet, but you had no concept of a poker face.
He thought it was cute, the way your eyebrows knitted and your shoulders tensed. The way you avoided looking at him because you knew he could see right through you.
You suck in your bottom lip as you waltz over to him with a pack of bandages and alcohol. You sit on the stool in front of him, knocking his knees open with your own so you can roll yourself between them, the wheels screeching a little as you do.
You stare at him with an intensity Luke has only ever seen from you once, and it’s when he was in an all too familiar situation with Lance Tenning.
The situations were all too eerily similar- both involving something being said about you. It didn’t matter if it was to your face or behind your back, Luke just couldn’t tolerate it. He couldn’t listen to your name get thrown around in the mud because you rejected the Ares child, not when you were so sweet and kind.
So, of course when Luke heard Lance whisper to his dimwit friends about how, “That bitch just can’t stop slutting herself out for Castellan,” he had to intervene.
And it’s not Luke’s fault that Lance got all defensive, and it’s not Luke’s fault that Lance pushed him, and it definitely wasn’t Luke’s fault when Lance ended up on the ground with a fresh black eye.
Luke can’t help but grin as the sight of Lance writhing beneath him replays in his mind, and you glare up at him with that knowing look in your eye. “I don’t know what you have to be smiling about right now.” You spit.
Luke furrows his brows, allowing you to inspect his bloody knuckles, before he grins and uses his free hand to brush a stray strand of hair behind your ear. “I’m here with you, why wouldn’t I be smiling?”
You scoff, rolling your eyes with a shake of your head. “Right, of course.”
“It’s true!”
You don’t say anything, just beginning to clean his knuckles. The sting is so familiar to Luke that he barely even reacts, just placing his other hand behind him and leaning back.
It’s weird, because Luke knows you’re mad at him. But you still handle him with so much care, so much gentleness- as if he’s fragile and the slightest movement could shatter him to pieces. It’s sweet, and just another example of how much you care.
He doesn’t know what he did to deserve a friend like you.
Luke can see you itching to ask him something, from the way you keep glancing up at him and the constant gnawing on your lip. And Luke knows you won’t ask- not be your own volition, anyway. You didn’t like confrontation, in fact, you made it a point to stay as far away from it as possible, so unless Luke said something, you never would.
“What’re you thinking about in that pretty head of yours?”
Luke notices the way your breath hitches at the word pretty, but he doesn’t think anything of it. You’d always been particularly sensitive to compliments, not just the ones from him. You let out a brisk sigh, finally able to let out the question you’d been holding in.
“Why did you do it, Luke? Again? After I already told you to just leave it alone?” Your voice waivers slightly, and he can see the obvious distress in your eyes. It made him almost… regretful. He never wanted to be the reason you felt anything other than happy, but he knew you wouldn’t understand it. You were so quick to let people walk all over you- let them treat you like shit and then say it was all fine and dandy.
Luke couldn't do that, though. He’d honestly rather die than watch you break yourself for people who didn’t give two-shits about you.
His lips thin, and he watches as you avert your gaze from his face and back to his hand, beginning to wrap a brown bandage around it.
“You didn’t hear what he said about you, Sweetheart. I couldn’t just listen to those awful things and pretend it wasn’t happening!” He sucks in a breath, waiting for your response.
You tense slightly, eyes darting between his face and his hand. “I never asked you to do that. I can handle myself-”
Luke snorts, interrupting you abruptly, “Can you? Because the last time this happened, you were going to let him get away with it. And that time he’d said it straight to your face!”
You finish tying his bandage swiftly, immediately dropping his hand and practically sprinting as far away from him as you can get.
You run the bridge of your nose, “Because I don’t want to start any problems! Lance isn’t just going to stop because you hit him a couple times, so there’s no point to it!” You scoff out a laugh, running a hand through your hair. “I mean, why do you care so much anyway?”
Luke goes silent at that. You were his best friend, of course he cared, but…
Why does this feel different? He wouldn’t beat someone for any of his other friends. Hell, he’s not sure he would do that for anyone. So why did he do it for you?
The answer is on the tip of his tongue, itching to be said and confessed, but he just can’t figure out what it is, and it’s driving him mad.
“‘Cause you’re my best friend!” He says it with a wince, like the words are foreign and wrong. And you flinch back at the phrase too. It makes him nauseous.
He watches as you swallow, hard. Eyelashes fluttering as you blink back the glossiness forming in your eyes. “I know that.” You mumble, “I’m just so sick of watching you hurt yourself and other people for me. I’m not worth getting kicked out of camp.”
Luke’s heart breaks a little bit when you say that, because he couldn’t believe you would even think that. To him, you were worth everything. Getting kicked out of camp, getting exiled by the gods, fuck- you were worth the world. All you had to do was say the word and Luke would be on his knees in front of you, praising the altar that you so graciously allowed him to admire.
He risked taking a step towards you, and he let out a small, relieved sigh when you didn't take a step away. “Do you seriously think that?”
Your eyes trailed his body, all the way from his lower stomach to his eyes, and Luke couldn’t help but shiver as they did. He closed the distance between you until you were nearly chest to chest, your breathing slowed and eyes wide. You were so goddamn beautiful, it was almost painful.
“Do you really think… I wouldn’t betray the fucking Gods if you asked me to? That I wouldn’t do anything for you?” His voice was low and husky, fingers grazing your arm and trailing up to your cheekbone. “I would rather I got kicked out of camp before I let some piece of shit like Lance Tenning speak a single word about you.”
You were nearly speechless, unable to move as the space between you got smaller and smaller. “Luke..” You whispered. And Luke felt it, that familiar twist in his gut, the one he couldn’t name.
And just as he was about to understand it- to accept it- some little kid ran into the room, crying about a cut they got on their hand. You didn’t even spare Luke a second glance as you rushed over to them and whispered sweet nothings in their ear, crouching down and kissing their hand better.
But, even as he excused himself and began the walk back to his own cabin, the strange feeling never really did leave him.
Incident Two: The Lake
Percy Jackson is the most oblivious person Luke has ever met.
It was seriously obvious to anyone with eyes that Annabeth was in love with him, especially after their quest last year. Her lingering touches, smiles a bit too wide, eyes glued to him anytime they were within ten feet of each other. It was completely obvious.
Even now, as Annabeth and Percy chase each other in the lake, hair sticking to their skin and water dribbling from their eyelashes, Annabeth's crush is noticeable in the way she looks at him.
Luke thinks it’s cute, honestly. He wants his little sister to find someone that loves her just as much as she loves them, and Percy Jackson was definitely that guy. He just needed to stop being an idiot and realize it.
“Hey, Luke?”
Luke’s ears perk up at the sound of you behind him, and he looks away from the two teens and towards you.
You and your light pink one-piece swimsuit. You and the little bow in your hair, watching intently as you tug it loose and let your hair cascade down your shoulders. You and your perfect lips and nose and-
“Can you help me tie this, please?”
You turn your back to him, and Luke swallows hard once he realizes your swimsuit is open back, which allows him to see the curve of your spine and the pretty freckles and moles that dot your skin like stars.
He watches as you struggle to tie the bathing suit strings around your neck, fingers moving around with zero coordination.
So, despite the obvious burning in his cheeks and the unexplainable feelings that brew in his stomach, he says: “Um, yeah. ‘Course I can.”
His breathing slowed as you whispered a quiet thanks, allowing Luke to softly brush your hair over your shoulder and take the strings from your fingers.
He tied it effectively, probably taking much longer than he should have, but he couldn’t help it. Not when you were so close and he could smell your perfume- lemons and vanilla. It was honestly the most intoxicating thing he’d ever smelled.
He tightened the bow around your neck, touch lingering on your back as his hands ghosted over your skin. He sucked in a breath, watching as his fingers trailed to your shoulders, as if they weren’t his own. And maybe they weren’t.
Slowly, he placed a small kiss on your shoulder, relishing in the way your breathing hitched and your spine shuddered.
And then there was that feeling again, the one he doesn’t quite understand. The one he just can’t place his finger on.
You turn around as Luke’s plush lips leave your shoulder, eyes a bit wide and lips parted, like there’s a question you’re dying to ask but you don’t allow yourself to.
You giggle nervously, glancing at Luke’s pink cheeks and tucking a loose piece of hair behind your ear, the way you always do when you’re nervous. “I, uh, thanks. For tying it! Not for… anything else. Obviously.” You ramble.
Luke just nods, crossing his arms over his chest. “It was no problem. I mean, what else are friends for?”
He pretends he doesn’t notice the way your eyebrows furrow and your shoulders deflate a bit at the word friends. Because, that's what you were, right? That’s all you were. Luke couldn’t understand why you’d ever be disappointed because of it.
You blink a couple times, doing your best to hide the way your voice shakes. “Yeah. Friends.”
Luke grins, happy that you’re both on the same page, and gently taps your arm. “Good. Look, I have to go make sure nobody drowns, but I'll see you later, alright?”
You nod, waving him off with a small mhm. But, even as Luke walks away and the smile returns to your face as you greet one of your sisters, the disappointment that lingers in your eyes doesn’t leave his head.
Why would you be dissapointed? And… why did he feel the same?
Incident three: The Bondfire
Luke wasn’t one to get jealous. He had no reason to be, he was perfectly content with where he was in his friendships and he didn’t have any girl he was involved with.
So why did the sight of you giggling with an Aphrodite boy make his blood boil?
The boy, Carter Rhodes, was notorious around camp for dating around. Almost every girl had a story with him, and Luke had thought you knew that, so why were you talking to him?
He watches as Carter leans into you, his lips inches away from your ear. You throw your head back and laugh. Actually laugh. Not the fake giggle you usually give people, no. It’s the laugh you give Luke when he visits you in the nurses station. Or when you spend the night with him. Or even when you’re just with him!
It's his laugh. So why were you letting Carter fucking Rhodes hear it?
“Uh, Luke, are you okay?”
Luke’s head whips to Percy, who’s giving him a disturbed look. It’s then that he notices he was gripping his plastic cup so hard, it had crushed in on the sides.
Luke swallows, blinking a few times to try and clear his mind, but the image of you and Carter doesn’t leave. “Uh,” He sniffles, eyes darting between you and Percy, “I’m all good.”
Percy nods, a sarcastic uh-huh falling from his lips. His blue eyes trail to you, and a smirk creeps onto his face.
Sure, Percy was oblivious when it came to his own love life, but yours and Luke’s? He was basically an expert.
Percy takes a seat on the log next to Luke, watching as the brunette boy struggles to keep his eyes on the ground and not on you. It’s amusing, honestly, the fact that Luke thinks he’s anything but obvious with his feelings for you.
“I get it, man. It’s hard watching the girl you like flirt with other dudes.”
At first, Percy’s comment doesn’t register in his brain and he agrees that, yes, it is hard watching the girl you like flirt with other dudes. And then he think real hard.. the girl you like..
“What? I don’t like her! I mean, I do like her as a friend but, I don’t like like her.”
Percy watches with amusement as Lukes cheeks turn a shade of pink and he trips over his words, practically shaking as he tries to shut down the accusation. The blonde sighs, shaking his head with a tut. “Oh, Luke. Sweet, innocent, Luke.” He claps a hand on his shoulder, rubbing it obnoxiously. “You are absolutely whipped.”
Luke scoffs and shrugs Percy off of him, shooting him a glare. “Right, like you’re any better. I see the heart eyes you and Annie give each other. But, me and Y/N aren’t like that! We’re just- just friends.”
The word feels like poison on his tongue, practically burning as he forces it out. It was true, you’re his friend! So why did he hate saying it?
He thinks back to that odd feeling he gets in his stomach when he’s with you, wondering if maybe, just maybe, there was some truth to Percy’s words.
But he immediately shoots the idea down. Even if Luke did see you as anything other than a friend, you’d never feel the same. You’d seen Luke at the lowest point in his life, right after his quest. You’d seen him angry, you’d seen him cry. How could you ever love someone so… unloveable?
Percy goes a deep shade of red, eyes widening as he immediately deflects. “Annabeth and I are not like you and Y/N! I don’t even- even like her. Gods, gross..” He pretends to gag, but Luke sees the way the blondes eyes immediately trail to where Annabeth sits talking to her siblings.
Luke lets out a chuckle, standing and ignoring the pop in his knees. He claps Percy on the back, “Keep telling yourself that, Lover Boy.” And swiftly finds his way over to you.
It’s ridiculous, yes. Luke knows that, but he wasn’t doing this out of jealousy. No, it’s because he’s worried- just like he usually is. He can’t help it! You’re just so naive and trusting, someone’s gotta be there to make sure you don’t get hurt!
Carter spots him first, and Luke pretends the immediate frown that falls onto his face as he does doesn’t make him proud. Like Carter knows that as soon as you see him, whatever bullshit he was trying to do with you would immediately be discarded.
Luke walks up right behind you, placing both hands on your shoulders and rubbing them just the way you like it. “Hey, Sweetheart.”
Your neck cranes as you look up at him, a wide, toothy smile on your lips. “Luke! Where’ve you been?”
He shrugs, sitting on the log next to you and continuing his massage on your shoulders. His thumbs move to rub circles into your back, on the places he knows you get tense the most, and you let out a low moan of approval, eyes falling shut. “‘missed you.” You breathe.
Luke chuckles, watching as Carter pretends to not be as angry as he really is. “Sorry, baby. Had to give lessons to some of the younger kids today.”
He doesn’t miss the way goosebumps rise into your skin despite the warm fire, or the way your spine goes completely rigid at the nickname. A proud smirk spreads onto his face as he finished his work with a chaste kiss to you shoulder, making sure to let it linger for longer than he normally would.
When he comes up, he pretends to finally notice Carter, putting on his best shocked face. “Oh! Carter, my bad, I didn’t see you. How’ve you been?”
Carter gives him a mean mug, jaw rippling as he nods. “Sure you didn’t, Castellan.”
You look at Luke with confusion, and then back to Carter, obviously being able to sense the thick tension between them. “Carter, what’s wrong?”
Carter blinks a few times, before his face relaxes and the sultry smooth smirk returns. “Nothin’ babe,” He places a gentle hand onto your thigh, thumb tracing small circles into it. “Just can’t believe how pretty you look.”
Luke doesn’t miss the wink Carter throws his way, or the way your cheeks flush as you giggle nervously. It was nearly unbelievable the audacity Carter had! To touch you right in front of him- to make you blush and giggle like a schoolgirl in love?
Luke sighs, leaning close and whispering in your ear. “Let’s go back to my cabin, yeah?” Immediately turn to him, and Luke knows he’s won. Honestly, did Carter ever even have a chance? It was almost cruel to let him think he had.
You swallow, eyes trailing Luke as he stands and offers a hand to you, a casual grin on his face. You say a quick goodbye to Carter without even sparing him a glance, and take Luke’s hand.
You let him lead you away, but Luke looks over his shoulder and smirks at Carter’s look of disbelief. He sends him a wink just as he did earlier, and then turns back to you.
You're looking at the ground in front of you, lips parted as you glance towards him. Your hands stay connected the whole way back to his cabin, but no words are exchanged between you.
He's not surprised to find the cabin empty, instead he relishes in it. The Hermes Cabin had so many residents, moments of solitude in it were hard to come by. So when they did, he always made sure to enjoy them as much as he could.
He drops your hand as soon as the door closes behind the two of you, plopping onto his bed with a sigh. He watches as you wrap your arms around yourself, maintaining a large distance between the two of you which he finds strange.
Normally, you always join him on his bed, allowing him to play with your fingers or hair and having deep conversations that he always enjoys. But, no, tonight you’re looking at him like there’s a question you want to ask, like it’s practically burning in your throat and you need to spit it out, but you don’t. You let it burn, gnawing on your lower lip.
His eyebrows furrow and he stands, walking towards you. You don’t move back, but you don’t look at him either. Not until his hands are on your upper arms, holding you in place gently. He tilts his head slightly, “What’s the matter?”
You suck in a breath, finally looking up at him through your lashes, and then your gaze finds the floor again, as if it hurts to look at him for more than a second. You stumble a bit as you talk, “Is there a reason you were being so weird back there? I mean, you’re never… never really that touchy when we’re with other people.”
Luke thinks back, remembering how he’d rubbed your back and shoulders, called you baby, kissed your skin… and he realizes that you’re right. The most he ever does in public is give you a quick kiss anywhere but your lips before he leaves you, and that’s that.
He doesn’t call you pet names, doesn’t touch you. So why did he do it now? His mouth goes dry, but he makes sure to keep his cool and calm exterior, dropping his hands from your skin, and shrugging nonchalantly. “Uh, no, not really. I just missed you.”
You snort, and squeeze your arms tighter around yourself. Finally, you look up at him, and Luke can’t help the way he basks in it. Your look, no matter if it’s angry or happy or sad, leaves butterflies in his stomach that he can’t explain.
“So, that’s all? You just missed me?”
He nods, “That's pretty much it.”
He doesn’t miss the hurt that flashes in your eyes. You never were good at hiding your emotions, no matter how hard you tried. It’s something he lov- liked about you. Something he liked.
Your arms fall to your sides, nostrils flaring a bit as you scoff. “Really? It’s not because you were- were jealous that I was finally talking to someone who might like me?”
Luke couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped him. Did you really think Carter wanted to be with you for anything outside of another two week fling? “Please,” He sighs, “You had to know Carter was just flirting with you to have sex with you!”
You stare at him with wide eyes, jaw hanging open as tears well in your lash line. He doesn’t understand it- why were you being like this right now? Couldn’t you see he was just looking out for you like he normally did?
“What if I wanted that too, huh? What if I wanted to stop waiting around like an idiot for someone who will never see me as anything more than a friend!”
There’s that word again, but this time it’s like a punch to the gut. It’s like bitter poison falling from your mouth, like the wrath of the Gods had finally caught up to him. It hurts more than he’d like to admit.
He risks taking a step closer to you, but you take one back, maintaining distance between you. “What are you talking about, Y/N?”
The question hangs in the air like smoke, filling up his lungs and leaving him unable to breathe. Because deep down- he thinks he knows. Deep down, the answer shines like a light in the middle of the darkness, begging to be seen. But he doesn’t want to see it yet- can’t let himself see it yet. He doesn’t deserve to.
Your head turns to the side, arms crossing over your chest once more. “Nothing. I have to go.” You murmur, beginning to walk away from him, but in a desperate attempt to get you to stay he snags your wrist.
You tug at him, something you rarely ever do, and it leaves him nearly speechless. Still, he persists, “Tell me what’s wrong.”
You freeze, but Luke doesn’t miss the way your voice waivers as you whisper, “If you can’t tell, then I won't be the one to tell you.”
With that you break from his hold, slamming the door shut behind you and leaving him completely alone. Now, that solitude he’d reveled in feels like snow creeping into his skin, encasing him in an endless chill.
Incident Four: The Apollo Cabin
Luke knows that you know it’s him knocking on your window. None of your siblings, with the exception of maybe one, have people sneaking in at late hours of the night.
He also knows that you’re not asleep. There’s no way- not after what was said between the two of you barely two hours ago. That's why he continues his knocks, coming up with new combinations, partially out of boredom and partially to annoy you enough to force you to open it.
And it works, he watches with a shit-eating grin as the window rolls open and you glare at him. “What?” You growl, glancing behind you to make sure none of your siblings woke up. “What do you want?”
He bites the inside of his cheek, gesturing for you to move back as he makes the familiar crawl through your window. He lands softly, so familiar with the environment that he knows where to step so he makes the least noise. “Couldn’t go to sleep knowing you were mad at me.” He mumbles.
You deadpan at him, a hand on your hip as you shake your head. “I’m not mad. Will you go back to your own cabin now?”
He shakes his head, eyes lingering on your messy hair and bare face. You never wore a lot of makeup, there was no point when the sun would melt it right off, but seeing you like this- unfiltered and completely real, he’s not sure you’ve ever looked more beautiful.
“You’re mad, Y/N. I know you are.” He sighs, and you swallow, wrapping your arms around yourself and looking to the side. “No, I'm not.”
He likes your stubbornness. Likes the way your lips pucker out slightly and your skin prickles with goosebumps when a breeze slips through the open window. He likes everything about the way you look at him, even when you’re angry.
“Yes, you are. And you have every reason to be. I was.. being selfish. I shouldn’t have dragged you away from Carter because I was mad you were talking to someone outside of me. It wasn’t fair.”
He doesn’t miss the way your eyes shine a little, biting on your lower lip in thought. “Luke-” You start, but he doesn’t let you finish. “You’re allowed to do what you want. And.. if you want to have sex with Carter then, you know, you can do that.”
You chuckle, shaking your head with a sniff, “I don’t want to have sex with Carter.”
He can’t help the relief that floods his veins as you say this, letting out a small groan of approval. “Oh, thank the Gods. You are way too good for that douchebag.”
You grin, stepping closer to him. Luke inhales as your familiar scent fills his nostrils, and it smells like home. Like something he was always meant to know.
“Yeah, wherever. Will you stay here with me tonight?” You ask, though Luke knows you already know his answer. Still, he amuses you, nodding dumbly and allowing you to lead him into your bed.
You settle under the covers, which smell like you, and he feels your limbs tangle together and your head find his chest, like a lock and key molding together in the form it was always made to be.
Your body is warm, warmer than his anyway, and your skin is so soft. Years of handling medicine has done you justice, a huge contrast to the roughness of his own, years of training has left him battered and scarred.
Still, you trace lines into the skin of his stomach, ear flat against his chest giving you full access to the beat of his heart.
“Luke?” You murmur, and he hums, running a hand through your hair, gently brushing out the knots. “Yeah, Sweetheart?”
You’re silent for a moment, before finally you softly say, “It’ll be us forever, right? No matter what happens?”
Luke is almost shocked how fast the word yes fills his thoughts. He hasn’t ever thought about what would come after camp, after you both left and your lives changed and you grew up.
Would you be there for that? Would you want to be there for that? He hopes your answer is yes.
“Forever.” He whispers, kissing the top of your head and pulling you tighter against him, “I promise.”
You sigh happily, closing your eyes and drifting to sleep. It’s then that Luke realizes what that feeling in his stomach is. The one he can never name, the one that begs to roll off of his tongue like hot acid.
Because , while Luke knew he himself was unloveable, with his trauma and scars, did that mean he was unable to love? Did he even deserve to feel that?
He's not sure, but right now, with you laying on his chest like it’s just the two of you in the whole world, he thinks he accidently let it happen.
He fell in love with you without ever even knowing it, and he’s not sure he ever wants to stop.

Misery’s your master
Summary: After an emotionally and physically draining mission Ghost finds you alone at the barracks.
This is my first attempt at writing angst, please be gentle!
Parings: Ghost x f reader
Warnings: mentions of death.
The mission should have been routine. Except intel had mentioned nothing about hostages; women and children that the cartel had locked in the warehouse. You’d tried to open the door before Gaz had shouted that it was rigged with explosives, and someone grabbed you, pulling you away just before the explosives were detonated. Killing all inside.
You’d been back on base for over a week now and everyone was treating you with kid gloves. Soap had tried to check in with you but at that point you were so sick of everyone asking how you were that you took a swing at him, after that Price insisted it was time that you speak to the base therapist. It wasn’t a bad idea, you hadn’t eaten or slept in days; the nights were the worst, you stayed awake replaying scenarios in your head, hearing the explosion over and over again.
For the first time in a week you had left your room, making your way to the mess hall and taking a seat as far towards the back of the room as you could find. Pulling your hood over your head and trying to eat something, anything that you could keep down, you felt the eyes of your teammates burning into you.
The hall suddenly became too much. The lights were too bright, the sounds and the voices overlapping each other was overwhelming. Your blood pounded in your ears, heart thudding in your chest. You had to get away. You couldn’t stay in that damned room anymore. With your breath heaving in your lungs, you push your way through the door and make your way towards a terrace at the end of the hallway. Standing in the open feeling the cold air against your skin you gasp, visions of civilians; of the women and children you couldn’t save replaying in your mind. Your hands trembled as you pull your lighter out of your jacket pocket. Clicking the lighter as hard as you can, it wouldn’t light. Frustrated, you sigh around the cigarette between your lips.
“Thought you didn’t smoke” a deep voice came from beside you. Glancing over you spot Ghost leaning against the railing, holding his own lighter under the cigarette still dangling from your lips.
“I don’t, generally” you mutter, inhaling and blowing the smoke into the night air. Watching for a moment, the way the smoke rings curled through the sky.
“How are you?” He questioned, pocketing his lighter.
“Nothing a shower and a good night’s sleep can’t fix” you shrug, avoiding his eyes.
He stared at you, “I’m going to ask you again how you are and I would like you to answer me honestly”
You don’t answer, turning your eyes back to the stars as you take a shaky breath. A warm pressure settles across your hand, looking down you see Ghost’s gloved hand resting atop yours. You let it settle there, his thumb tracing circles on your skin, anchoring your body as you took a shaky breath “I can’t get it out of my head, I can hear them screaming for me to help them. I should have…”
“Come on” He grunted, stepping back from the railing.
“What?”
“Hit me”
“I’m not going to hit you”
“You wanted to take a swing at something. You took a shot at Soap the other day” Ghost shrugged.
You stared at each other for a moment before you balled your fist and struck Ghost in the chest. “Again” he said.
Ghost kept saying “again” as he let he you hit him until you were gasping for breath and fat, heavy tears streaked down your face. You drew back your fist for one final hit but Ghost easily caught it; pulling you close against his chest as he held you tight, one large hand securely against your back holding you firmly against him and the other cradling the back of your head.
“The door was rigged. You were never going to get it open, the cartel had eyes on it the whole time. They wanted us in the warehouse when they blew it up” his voice was low and deep, you could feel his breath against your ear. “You tried to free them. Remember that, hold on to that”
You don’t know how long the two of you stood there like that. He let you cling onto him like a life raft as you cried out everything you had.
“…Thank you” you mumbled, pulling away whipping at your eyes with your sleeve. A door opened and the two of you watched as a group of recruits spilled out of the doorway.
“Don’t blame yourself for what happened” Ghost said, his eyes boring into yours.
“I’ll…I’m trying”
Ghost’s eyes soften at your response, you can hear him breathe out one word, with all the kindness in the world.
There is something so comforting about the simple phrase.
“Good,” he says quietly.
His hand moves to your face, to gently trace the skin on your cheek. A tiny muscle by Ghost’s jaw twitches as he watches you.
Almost as if he is suddenly realized what he was doing, his hand drops from your face and he steps back, glancing towards the door where the recruits came from.
“Make sure you eat something” he said before turning and heading towards his room. You stood alone in the dark for a moment before returning to the mess hall, a small plate of food in front of you almost as if Ghost’s words were the balm your soul needed.

Hellow hellow (☆▽☆)
May I request yandere zhongli, diluc and possibly neuvilette with reader who's a talented musician that often like to play alone and doesn't want anyone finding about their hobby?
ah this was such a cute ask! i've never played an instrument aside from the recorder i was forced to learn in 4th grade so i apologize if this isn't super accurate :D
Tumblr media
Warning: this post contains yandere-themes, including delusional behaviors, honestly the guys are pretty sweet here, and other potential topics. Please read at your own risk!
Diluc:
Being a bit of a musician himself, Diluc can understand the desire to be alone. He won’t ever intrude on your alone time, allowing you a room to yourself with whatever instruments and setup you’d like. He makes sure to let all the staff know to not bother you while you are there. If you’d like he’d even be willing to set up a lock on the door so that no one can enter, so long as he is allowed a key.
If you should ever change your mind and ask Diluc to join you for some music, he’d be more than happy to comply. He knows quite a few different instruments so he’s happy to partner up as whatever you ask of him as well.
A soft smile graces Diluc’s face as he hears the music start-up in another room. You were back to practicing again, working away at a particular piece that had been troubling you lately. Normally he wouldn’t seem so happy about your mess-ups, but he thought your dedication to the instruments to be endearing. It reminded him a bit of himself when he was young, before he had taken over the winery business unexpectedly. He had offered to play the piece with you a handful of times over dinner, but your polite refusal each time was enough to keep him from simply forcing his way in. He didn’t want to disturb the one thing you seemed to enjoy so thoroughly.
Zhongli:
Zhongli was never much of a musician, he preferred books and literature over the finer arts. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate them though. He does dampen a bit when you deny him the access of watching you play, insisting that you prefer to be alone, but he relents regardless. His keen hearing from across the home-like cave was enough for now.
Instead, Zhongli offers his support in the form of sheet music, going out of his way to obtain obscure or new sheet music for you in the style that you like so that you never run out of new melodies. It’s a simple act of appreciation for your gifts, if he could write any himself he’d have done so as well, but his ear for music wasn’t as fine-tuned as yours.
Zhongli pauses in his reading for a moment, his ears adjusting to the slightest tune echoing through the cave. It was barely there, but enough for him to hear. It seemed as though you were playing quietly today. It’s another moment that passes before he places a marker into his book, setting it aside before rising from his chair. He couldn’t explain it but your music always seemed to inspire him to get up and do something. Typically it was cooking, with him making a light meal or snack to bring to you when it sounded like you were taking a break. It helped to hear that you were playing the newest sheet music he had brought you. He didn’t know much about music aside from how to read notes on a paper, but there was something about that one specifically that just reminded him so dearly of you.
Neuvillette:
Neuvillette has always admired music, but his mind was more focused on the law and justice system, he had never really had time to explore that interest. When he finds out about your talent in that field, he at first is hesitant to ask you to teach him. He doesn’t want to bother you especially after you confessed that you prefer to play alone. So instead he listens silently from the next room over, replaying the melodies over and over in his head as he tries to teach himself an instrument.
It’s sweet, the way Neuvillette is always keeping you up to date with things. Always making sure your instruments are in proper working order and that anything you need for them is easily available. He had learned about instrument care as soon as he started trying to learn, and because you don’t leave the house often he makes sure to pick things up that he thinks you might need while he’s out.
He doesn’t say anything to you as he silently enters the room, noticing how you paused mid-line, turning to look at him. He just offers a warm smile, walking over to you quietly before sliding your music stand away. It takes a moment to realize what he’s doing as he slides a brand new one into place, carefully moving your sheet music from the old one to the new one. “I apologize for disrupting, please continue.” He gives a polite bow of his head before turning to leave, taking the old music stand with him. You weren’t sure how he knew that you needed a new one, since the old one had a problem with staying extended to the height you wanted it, but silently, you were thankful.

Bestie, hi yes hello.
Zoro Headcanons with an AFAB reader. Meeting and slowly developing feelings for. I will leave it up to you to decide how deep the feelings go, and honestly some good ol' SFW is fine.
I love you >w< 💋
This turned into a small drabble more than headcanons, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. These things often have a way of turning into their own little story no matter what I do. Dx
Falling in Love with Zoro
CW: mild gender angst, drinking
You don’t catch feelings when he saves your life. You’re a strong enough fighter that you’ve been in risky combat situations plenty of times; this one doesn’t stand out. You give Zoro your share of booze that night in thanks and don’t think about it again.
You don’t catch feelings when he fights Sanji over acting foolish around you. That happens too often to really stand out anyways.
You don’t even catch feelings the time he grabs you instinctively when a huge wave rolls the Sunny nearly 90 degrees, Zoro keeping you from falling into the sea with a burly arm around your hips. (“Does this mean I get your rum again?” he asks afterward.)
You start to really notice him, however, after the latest stop in a tavern for info. You and Robin split up to probe regulars for information, and a patron makes creepy comments toward you. It shouldn’t bother you. You could kill him with your bare hands, easily. And yet something about the situation makes you freeze up. That’s when Zoro, appearing over your shoulder, calmly and coolly asks, “This guy botherin’ you?” in that deep voice of his. It’s all he says, but the razor sharp, cutting glare he levels on the guy makes him immediately scramble away.
“Thanks,” you say, and keep it at that, even though you’re furious with yourself. How did you let that happen? And how did Zoro know you were struggling? He’s seen you fight. He knows what you’re capable of. You don’t think he sees you as weak–that’s not it. Somehow, he knew you needed help.
You look at Zoro differently after that. You always saw him as kind of a dumb jock, but maybe you weren’t giving him enough credit. Now that you’re watching him more, you notice that he’s far more attentive than you first thought, picking up on little details that could otherwise easily be missed.
Zoro, on his end, notices that you’ve been watching him, ever since that night. He knows something is bothering you, but figures you’ll tell him about it if you need to. He wouldn’t want to offend you by asking. Not that he ever cares about offending people, but…he doesn’t want to offend you. He’s not sure why, but also doesn’t worry about it too much.
So you two go on like that, perusing each other from a distance. Both of you watching and waiting, but for what, you’re not sure. The tavern incident keeps eating at you in the back of your mind. Maybe it was from embarrassment, to be reduced to nothing but your gender in front of a crewmate. Maybe it was good old-fashioned shame. Regardless, you keep a wary eye on the swordsman.
You notice more things. How hard he pushes himself when training. The curves and edges of his muscular body, flexing and shifting beneath scarred skin. How disciplined his work ethic is. How brotherly he is toward Chopper, something that seems to burrow its way into your chest when you witness it–you adore kids, and never realized Zoro could be so…
So soft.
It bothers you. It excites you. It makes your heart pound and your skin warm and it’s distracting. You never cared about these things before. You’re a powerful fighter, not a blushing maiden. What the hell has gotten into you? Maybe that’s why that night at the tavern keeps replaying.
One night, you meet him at the bow of the ship, moonlight sparkling off the edges of the sea waves. He’s nursing an almost-empty mug, but you’ve brought something finer; a bottle of sake and two cups.
“You want to talk,” Zoro says, surprising you again.
“If you don’t mind,” you say.
“Nah.” He tilts his chin at the sake. “How did you get that, anyway? Curly-brow told me he was saving it.”
“By having a pair of tits,” you say dryly, your annoyance with the situation obvious. All you had to do was ask Sanji nicely, and he immediately let you have it.
“Tch.” Zoro clicks his tongue. “He’s disgusting.”
“He means well,” you sigh, opening the sake bottle and handing Zoro one of the cups. Zoro politely holds it out to you with two hands, and you fill it. “I just…I would rather have his respect than his adoration.”
Zoro takes the sake bottle, and you hold your cup out for him to fill. “You’re reading him wrong. He respects you, that much I know. He just also acts like a moron.”
“It doesn’t feel respectful.”
“I’d imagine it wouldn’t.”
You raise your cups to each other in cheers, then drain them. The cool liquor burns pleasantly as it runs down your throat. He lets out a satisfied “Ah,” and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand.
“So, what did you want to talk about?” he asks as he refills both your cups. Despite the question, you get the feeling that he already knows, so you don’t beat around the bush.
“How did you know I needed help?” you finally ask. “That one night, at the Blueberry Hill Tavern.” Zoro raises his cup to you, and you mirror him, then you both down your drinks.
“Easy enough,” he says after swallowing. “You’re normally very animated. I didn’t hear what that guy said, but I’ve never seen you go rigid like that before. Wasn’t hard to figure out.”
You don’t respond right away, avoiding his eye. “...Do you think I’m weak?”
“Huh? No. Wait, is that what this has all been about?” Zoro chuckles. “That’s what’s been bothering you?”
“Not necessarily. I mean, I didn’t think you thought so.”
“Then why ask?”
You refill both your cups. “...I don’t know. I just wanted to be sure. Mostly, I’m…disappointed in myself, I suppose.”
“Don’t be.” He says easily, like it’s no big deal. You stare at him. “I mean, you hesitated, yeah. But it wasn’t on the field of battle, where it really counts. So no harm done.”
You blink. He shrugs. You look down at your sake cup, and down it quickly. The liquor is starting to take effect, relaxing and warming you.
Zoro gulps his down too. “If I wounded your pride somehow, then I apologize.”
“No.” You shake your head. “No, I’m glad you were there. I appreciate what you did. I just need to get over myself.”
“Eh. I think it’s good to have pride. You’re strong, you’ve earned the right.” He refills your cups. “What’s actually tragic is that you’re letting that creep occupy your thoughts. He doesn’t deserve that much, so let it go.”
Again and again, Zoro finds ways to surprise you. You swirl the liquid in your cup, watching it slosh around. He’s right, of course.
“Yeah,” you say, and smile slowly. “Yeah. I’m better than that.”
“Damn right,” Zoro says, and raises his cup to you. “This one’s to us, okay? To warriors.”
“To warriors!” you toast him, then slam back your drink. You grin when you’re done, and Zoro smirks back, pleased that you’re feeling better. Something about his toothy grin makes your head spin, and you’re not sure it’s just the alcohol.
“Thanks for the booze.” Zoro claps a hand on your shoulder, and your cheeks get warm. “I’m glad you talked to me.”
By the time you make it to the bottom of the bottle, you’ve talked into the night, laughing and looking out over the sea, and by then, you’re absolutely certain of one thing.
You’ve caught feelings for Zoro.

double take..
pairing || wooyoung x reader
summary || never once did he think he would get the courage to say what he needed to say to you but late at night in the practice room, maybe he could.
mina’s notes || excuse my love for this song, but it's really one of my favorites as is wooyoung. please enjoy ♡
Tumblr media
The echo of his practice bag hitting the ground could be the only sound hear before Wooyoung throw himself down a heavy sigh leaving his lips. The silence that followed gave his mind the chance to replay what he had said to you we’ll be friends forever. Honestly, he had no idea as to why he even said it because he knew that he wanted to be more than friends with you. Never once did he expect feelings to develop for you but as time went on in your friendship, he started to see you in a different light. He could say that he never thought about you in that way, but he would be lying. Hands finding his face, he groaned knowing that he was in over his head and had no idea how to get out of the situation, because he didn’t want to not be around you, but his heart couldn’t take being near you.
Taking a deep breath, he got to his feet, allowing them to carry him over to the stereo in the corner. Getting everything set up, his mind took him back a few weeks when he sat with his members pretending to be happy as you found some dude to take home. Memorizing the way your smile slowly spread across your face as he whispered something in your ear. Jealously had bubbled in him then, just as it was now, as he slammed his fist against the tabletop, picking the first song he could find. Desperately Wooyoung needed the silence of the room to be gone along with the memory.
It began with just some light stretching, a way to warm up his body and distract his mind from you. Yet as he moved into each new position cloudy memories moved about, blurring one moment into the next. In the shapes of the clouds there were glimpses of you. Tiny fragments of the reasons he started to feel this way. Giggles shared after a tough day, snacks personally delivered on a late night when meals had to be skipped, sitting in silence as you played with his hair during movie night. All of it added up to the feeling in his chest. He could be in the midst of the crowd, and he wouldn’t see anybody but you. Shaking his head quickly, he moved himself into the next stretch, forcing his mind to stay focused in the room rather than a daydream filled with you.
As the next song started to play, so did his body. As different beats hit, different parts of him moved. In no time he was lost to the rhythm, allowing his mind to turn off and let his body take over, moving from one side of the room to the other. A few songs passed without his knowledge, only brought back when the sound of the song you shared with him quietly began to play. Heavily breathing as he stood looking into the mirror, arms gently moving with the melody, Wooyoung again let the music take over him, only this time his thoughts were filled with you. You were his muse, his lifeline in this crazy world that he was living in. The person who could bring him back to reality. Ground him. The music continued to build and so did his movements in the studio.
The closing notes of the song were the only noise echoing off the walls and barely drowned out his lungs working overtime. His eyes moved from his feet across the floor and back into the mirror, taking in the way his hair was sticking to his forehead, sweat dripping down his temples. He couldn’t stop himself from thinking what was really making him so scared of telling you how he felt. A part of him knew that it was the fear of losing you as his person in life. Wooyoung had accepted that if he couldn’t have you in a romantic sense then he would settle for just having you in his life, filling the space next to you, defined as your best friend. It drove him mad wondering if you felt the same way. What if you were just as scared to admit your feelings in fear of losing him? A scoff escaped his lips at the realization that was probably far from the truth.
So caught up in his own world, he never noticed that you had snuck into the practice room with a bag full of his favorite snacks. The light sound of a cough spooked him out of the depths of his mind, eyes frantically landing on you and the adorable pout that graced your face. How long are you planning on being here? You questioned, pointing towards the door you came in. San said you left them an hour ago, you finished saying as you removed your coat and set your things down next to his. It was one of the many things he admired about you, that you never felt uncomfortable with them and made yourself at home knowing that you were always welcomed with open arms. His eyes watched as you moved to the couch in the corner, sitting down and pulling something out of the bag you were carrying. I brought you snacks. You really had him hooked onto something.
Trying to move towards you, he couldn’t understand why his body wouldn’t do what he wanted it to do. Instead, he settled on looking you over. You looked like a constellation of stars in his mind. Your hair was slightly blown about, meaning that you came immediately to where he was without stopping to see the other members. The snacks that were slowly being spread across the couch were only his and not even one for your seven other friends. Tearing his eyes away from you and looking at the stuff you set down next to his, he noted his missing jacket thrown on the floor. His thoughts whispered to him ‘tell me, do you feel the love?’.
Stuck in the invisible trance that you caused, he couldn’t stop the small that pulled at his lips as the speakers again began to play a song that you had showed him. Silently, he watched the way you almost seemed to be glowing with each note that played louder and louder. Before Wooyoung even knew what was happening, you were up and dancing around, moving your hips to the beat, driving him wild. Really, he could say that he never unzipped those blue Levi’s inside his head, but that would be the further thing from the truth that he could say. It didn’t help that as you moved, those damming thoughts were happening again. On the outside, he hoped it looked like he was just watching you dance, because on the inside, he had already walked over to you and kissed you until he was lightheaded.
That giggle that he loved so much filled his ears, snapping him out of the fantasy that would make his pants feel a little bit tighter, as you spun around closer to him than before. Before he could process what was happening, his body was moving the way it always did when music was being played. He had no control over what he was doing as he pulled you into his arms, spinning you both around the room, making different small moves with you in his arms. The fading notes of the song could be heard as he pressed his forehead against yours, breathing intertwining with each other’s. The world could have stopped spinning because for Wooyoung, his world seemed to have paused in this moment.
Nothing, really truly nothing, could be better than this moment. Maybe it was time for him to finally confess how he felt about you, with you wrapped up in his arms, smelling like a field of flowers. Spend a summer with me, he said in a rush, no wait, spend a lifetime with me. Before he could stop the words, they were spoken into the world, for your ears only to hear. In the silence that followed, he didn’t allow himself to take a step back in fear, no, instead he forced himself to stand his ground, waiting for the heartbreak that was bound to happen. What felt like minutes turned out only to be seconds before your lips lightly pressed against his, gone already. I’d like to spend a lifetime with you, you murmured softly, turning to stare down at the ground.
Happiness bubbled into his chest, threatening to burst, almost vibrating his body. This couldn’t be happening, could it? You felt the same? Maybe all those times that he felt so loved were because you were there loving him in ways he couldn’t see. Shakey fingers tilted your chin up bringing your attention back to him, so he could ever so gingerly press his lips back to yours. Even his most vivid of daydreams couldn’t prepare him for the softness of your lips or the way you stepped further into his hold as his arms tightened around you. Bliss filled his veins until he heard the sounds of cheers ruining the moment, as he quickly tucked you behind him when he turned to face the source of the noise.
Red crept up his neck as he realized all the members had witnessed. His blushing only deepened as you wrapped your arms around his waist, leaning your head out to say hi everyone, as if they didn’t just catch you both confessing your feelings. I didn’t bring enough snacks for everyone, You giggled as he realized that they were on their way over to the couch you had previously occupied. Turning his attention over his shoulder, he quickly pressed a kiss to your head before making a run over to try and save his favorite snacks from being eaten by everyone else. In the hours that had passed since he first walked into the room, he couldn’t help the growing smile that spread across his lips because he finally was able to love you the way he had always dreamed.

congrats on 800! you deserve it, you write law so well!
5. with law would be so cute omg
“Don’t Go Without Me. Please”
Thank you so much! I think I made this a little more angsty but the ending is cute, I promise! I hope you enjoy <3
Warnings: g/n reader, totally sfw!
Tumblr media
Tomorrow, Law would be dropped off at Punk Hazard and you’d have to say goodbye to your lover, for an amount of time you didn’t even know. It could be months, he’d said to you.
Currently, the crew had a very somber goodbye party going for their captain. You couldn’t bring yourself to join them, however, as the dreadful thought of being separated from Law replayed in your mind. You were in his room, laying on his side of the bed, crying. You couldn’t even remember how long ago you’d gone in there. All you could think of was being away from him, all alone and how your anxiety would only amplify as soon as he stepped foot off the submarine. How could you not worry, being away from him for months and months, with absolutely no way to contact him?
The sheets were balled up in your fists, and you laid on your side, nose buried in the pillow that smelled of your lover. It was pathetic, honestly. That you already missed him so much that you wanted to only be surrounded by his scent.
At this point, your tears were drying up as you started calming down. With your mouth hung open as you softly breathed, you stared ahead at the wall, desperately clinging onto hope that he’d change his mind. But you knew he wouldn’t.
It was then that the door to the bedroom opened, startling you. You raised your head up, and the tears came flooding back, stronger than ever, as you saw Law standing in the doorway, looking heartbroken at the sight of you.
“Y/n… have you been down here the entire time?” He asked, voice heavy as though he was going to break at any second.
You could only nod, confirming Law’s suspicions. Not wasting anymore time, he kicked off his shoes and pulled his shirt off, climbing into the bed to hold you.
Your breathing heightened as you felt his warm arms wrap around your cold body, his breaths falling hot against the skin of your neck.
“I’m sorry I didn’t come down here sooner,” he whispered directly into your ear, sending shivers down your spine. God, you’d miss his voice.
“It’s okay,” you mumbled, closing your eyes before more tears came running down. “You should’ve spent time with the crew anyway, since you won’t be seeing them after tomorrow.”
“By that logic, I should be spending more time with you then.” He responded, one of his thumbs rubbing comforting circles into your arm.
“You spend every night with me, already. And then whenever we see each other during the day, so what’s it matter?”
Law sighed, understanding that you were simply distraught over his departure and not at all trying to upset him. He hugged you closer, gently squeezing your body against his own.
He hadn’t realized it for a moment, but you’d started crying again, which developed into your body trembling in his warm hold, quiet, broken sobs leaving your reddened lips.
“Y/n…” he whispered your name, turning you over so that you’d face him now. As Law pressed small kisses to your forehead, you could feel his goatee brushing against your nose. Another feeling you’d miss.
“Law,” you cried, biting down on your lip as you clawed at his skin, wanting to hold onto him forever so he couldn’t leave you.
“Don’t go without me. Please,” you begged, voice weak and hurt as you spoke through your tears. “I don’t care if it’s dangerous. I can’t be away from you for that long.”
Law seemed a bit taken aback at your words, but he considered them. To tell the truth, he’d been hurting just as much as you were. Though he was better at hiding it. Law thought about it, thinking that you could be helpful on his journey, but ultimately, he was scared about your safety. That he wouldn’t be able to protect you.
“I don’t want you to get hurt,” he finally said, breaking the silence.
“I won’t.” You said, a bit more harsh than you’d intended to. “I… trust you. I know you’d do anything to protect me, and I’ll do the same for you. I’d rather fight alongside you and even die together than be far away on Zou, having no idea if you’re even alive or not.”
Law kissed you again, and you shifted your head backward to be able to look into his gray eyes. The sight devastated you. He looked like he hadn’t slept in days, eyes darkened and glossy as tears threatened to spill. He was barely holding it together. For Law, this was extreme.
You nearly cried again, but you didn’t, forcing your puffy eyes shut before looking at him again, determined. “I’m going with you. Whether you like it or not, Law.”
He then nodded, as much as he could being laid against you and the bed, though. “You’re coming with me,” he repeated, a small smile forming on his face.
You grinned in return, connecting your lips with his, silently thanking him for listening to you. Law’s arms wrapped around you even more tightly, holding you as close as possible without suffocating you. You did the same, one hand landing in his messy raven hair that you began to play with as your kiss continued. With how physically close you were right now, it became evident that nothing could rip you and Law apart from each other.

Watching You
Tumblr media
✎ summary: You’re in love with your best friend. He’s in love with someone else.
✎ warnings: angst, unrequited love
✎ characters: Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler, Jonathan Byers
✎ word count: 762
series masterlist
Tumblr media
I heard that you found someone
Always knew that you would find someone
Got the message, knew what it said
I can’t forget
It was the talk of the school when Steve and Nancy made it official. Steve Harrington was your best friend. He was also the boy you were in love with. He didn’t know it, of course. You always knew the day would come when he’d find someone to love. You just always hoped it would be you.
You came home to a message from Steve that day. You didn’t have to listen to know what it said, but you did anyway. Unsurprisingly, he was boasting about how he and Nancy were finally together. You never forgot those words.
I don’t sleep
Tangled up in the memory
Of you and me, now you and her
Your mind replayed all the times you thought Steve returned your feelings. The times he held you while you cried or how he held your hand in a crowded room. You tossed and turned all night, knowing Nancy would get all that and more.
But for what it’s worth
You know I’ll always pick up your call
‘Cause I’d rather half than nothing at all
Steve periodically called you, and all he ever wanted to talk about was Nancy. You knew you should’ve stopped picking up, but you’d rather have a piece of him than have nothing at all. So you endured the pain of hearing him telling you about how much he loved her. All the while, you pretended you weren’t hopelessly in love with him.
I’m too tired to pretend
That last night didn’t hurt
When you called me a friend
And it wouldn’t be the first time you made me cry
You don’t even know why
The first time you officially met Nancy, you had been talking to Steve at his locker when she showed up. He had introduced you as “just a a friend,” and you felt your heart shatter all over again. You cried alone in your room that night. It wasn’t the first time, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
Many times we felt it
Came close for a minute
Wrong place, wrong time
You were almost mine
You recalled the many times you and Steve almost took the next step. The times alone in his car when his eyes would flicker down to your lips or the soft caresses when the two of you were alone in his bedroom. Something in him always told him it was a bad idea, and you were both too scared to make that first move.
I don’t sleep
Next time, please don’t tell me
Honestly, I wish I saw things differently
You had another sleepless night the day Steve told you he loved her. You wished he wouldn’t have. You wished you could be happy for him. You wished you didn’t love him the way you did.
It’s so hard to pretend
When you ask me what I think
When she hurts you again
If I said it would I get
All that I need
Or would you forget me
You were at a loss when Steve came crying to you about how he found Nancy with Jonathan Byers in her bedroom. You wanted to tell him that she didn’t deserve him, but you didn’t know if he would seek comfort in you or feel the need to defend her. So, you defended her before he could.
I really gotta go
Wish I could stay
But I can’t keep watching you watching her watching me
And everybody knows
That I feel this way
So I can’t keep watching you watching her watching me
After the Halloween party where she broke his heart, Steve came to you. You thought it was over between them and that he would be yours again. But a few days later, they had made amends, and you were back on the sidelines. This time, you didn’t pick up Steve’s calls. You avoided him at school, and he eventually stopped trying to talk to you.
You wished you could have been strong enough to stay in Steve’s life, but you couldn’t keep watching as he looked at her as if she was the only person in the world. You couldn’t bear the looks of sympathy from your classmates who could tell from a mile away that you were in love with Steve. You couldn’t stand the fact that Steve would never look at you the way he looked at Nancy. So, you left, and you didn’t turn back.

I had this idea, and I HAD to dot it. It may not be good, but yeah here is a blurb of an AU:
Simon sighed, staring at his phone. He probably should’ve blocked Wilhelm by now but he just couldn’t bring himself to do it. He stared at the texts they shared, and as usual, an ache built in his chest. Simon didn’t know why he even replied, all it did was make things worse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Simon didn’t even know how to respond to the last text, so he didn’t. He put his phone down on his bed, rubbing his hands over his face. He laid there for a moment, hands still covering his face as he replayed the messages in his head. There was a soft knock on his door. He lowered his hands and glanced over at his sister, Sara.
“You okay?” she asked, quietly entering his room and plopping down on his bed next to him.
Simon sighed, “I honestly don’t know,” he said, sitting up and laying his head on her shoulder. “I keep re-reading our messages and I hate it but what he’s saying makes sense. It just sucks that I’m the only one dealing with any consequences.” Sara laid her head on top of his, taking in a deep breath as she listened, “He hurt you, Simon. That hurt doesn’t disappear just because he has a duty to the crown. Whatever you choose to do, I’ll support you but it’s also okay if you just do nothing. It’s your choice.” She placed her hand on her brother’s knee, gently giving it a pat.
“He told me he loved me,” Simon confessed, lifting his head and turning to look at her, “before he left, and all I said was ‘I hope you have a nice Christmas’. Who does that?” He groaned, covering his face again.
“Really?” Sara asked, brows furrowing. “Do you think he really does?”
“I don’t know…” he sat back up, locking eyes with her. “I feel like if he did he wouldn’t have made the statement and left me to handle it all alone. I mean people still stare at me when I go to the grocery store.”
“You think you’ll ever be able to forgive him?” She asked.
Simon shrugged, biting the inside of his lip. He really didn’t know and he wasn’t going to figure it out today. “Wanna go bother mom? See if she’ll make us some cookies or something?” Sara nodded, smiling as she stood, reaching out a hand. “Maybe we can convince her to make tres leches?” She wiggled her eyebrows. Simon laughed, taking her hand and following her out of his room, putting the whole thing in the back of his mind.
Several days later:
Wilhelm’s POV:
Wilhelm laid in his bed as he stared at the last message he sent, which Simon didn’t grace with a response. He’d been going back and forth on what to do. All he wanted was to be with Simon, but he fucked up. He did the one thing he told Simon he wouldn’t do and he regretted it as soon as he did it. He ran his hand through his hair in frustration, switching to the photos app and looking at the few photos he had of them. He broke the trust they had and that was going to be hard to fix, but he needed to do something.
He ranted to Felice about this whole situation and while her advice was solid, he was still scared. His brother died tragically and now his family felt it was stuck with him as the crown prince. Any mistake he made, big or small, put him in deeper and deeper shit with the royal court. He was under the microscope even more than before. No matter what he did, he was never going to be seen as suited for this role, he was never going to be Erik, so why should he let them ruin the one thing that’s ever made him happy in his entire life?
Meeting and loving Simon was life-changing, and losing him because of something he was forced to do, was devastating in ways he couldn’t put into words. Felice told him to follow his heart, and his heart was Simon’s, there was no question about it. He stared at his favorite photo of them, caressing the phone. At that moment, the decision was made, he sat up and opened Instagram. He began typing without giving it a second thought. Once finished, and posted, he stared at the post for a few moments before sending Simon a message.
Tumblr media
Simon’s POV:
Simon made his way onto the bus, showing the driver his pass before making his way to a seat in the back. He was listening to music to drown out the chatter and city noise, when his phone vibrated. He glanced at the notification, his heart racing as he saw that it was from Wille. He took a deep breath, opening it.
Tumblr media
His brows furrowed in confusion as he switched to instagram, clicking Wilhelm’s profile. His eyes narrowed slightly as he saw the most recent photo, clicking it. His jaw dropped and his eyes widened in shock.
Tumblr media
His eyes filled with tears as he read that caption and after a few moments, he responded to the post with the three words he wished he’d said before Christmas break. He stared at the post in disbelief a moment longer. He… confessed..Simon thought as the tears cascaded down his face. He switched back to his messaging app:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Simon stared out the window and wiped his tears away, a giant smile on his face. He didn’t know what would happen next but at least he could trust that Wilhelm was going to be right beside him through it all.
He didn’t have a single doubt about it.

warnings: dry humping, dirty talk, clit play, chan is such a fucking tease.
prompts: 18 & 24 - bold and italicized
There’s something seriously wrong with morning people.
How can anyone enjoy this time of day? Waking up before the sun sounds absolutely miserable to you; sure you have more time in the day, but is it really worth it? You’re not sure you understand the hype around it. Waking up early just makes you grumpy, especially when you don’t have to.
When your body decided to wake you up at 5:30, it wasn’t really that annoying. Your alarm wouldn’t go off for another three hours, you can just go back to sleep. It was kind of frustrating when five minutes passed and you were still awake, but you could just blame it on the dream you had. It was very…stimulating, keeping your mind a little active. No biggie. Should be drifting off any minute now.
Five turned into fifteen. Fifteen turned into thirty. By 6:15, the sun was starting to peek over the horizon and your frustration had skyrocketed. You feel exhausted, but no matter how many times you fluff your pillow or flip in bed, your body refuses to let you rest.
That damn dream. It’s plaguing you; every lewd detail replaying in your mind. The way he grabbed you and pinned you to the shower wall, the soft kisses placed on your lower belly as he got on his knees for you. The feeling of his fingers molding against your skin as he pried your legs apart-
Fuck. It’s too hot under all these blankets. In a fit of frustration, you kick them off, letting the heap pile on top of your fiancé’s sleeping form. Chan grumbles a bit, stirring as he rolls onto his side, but doesn’t fully wake. He does seem a bit restless, though; eyebrows furrowing as he unconsciously pushes the covers back in your direction.
Good. You hope he’s restless, especially after the stupid dream version of him left you hanging and craving the tip of his tongue.
There’s no use wallowing in bed, both sexually frustrated and exhausted. Might as well start your day. Begrudgingly, you roll out of bed and head to the bathroom. Maybe a cold shower will bring you down to earth.
Standing directly under the head, you squint your eyes shut and let the icy water roll over your skin. Goosebumps erupt over every inch, lips trembling from the sting of the cold. And yet, your body still feels warm — a fuzzy, static like feeling in between your legs pricking you like little needles. A beautiful portrait of frustration, desire, and pain swimming through your system.
Honestly, fuck your subconscious for that dream.
You lost track of how much time was spent in the arctic, turning off the water once your lips went numb. Now bundled in your cozy robe, you stand in front of the sink, blankly staring at yourself as your toothbrush vibrates in your mouth. It’s a bit soothing, eyes fluttering shut at the gentle motion. Humming happily, you let the exhaustion flood your body, a balloon of excitement in your belly at the idea of going back to bed. Finally. Finally, you can sleep again.
The bathroom door opens abruptly, scaring the sleep back into the corner of your mind and jolting you back to life. With narrowed eyes, you watch Chan slowly walk into the room, fists rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“Good morning.” He says with a yawn. “You’re up early.”
Yeah and it’s all your fucking- “Couldn’t sleep.”
With a sympathetic look, he moves towards you, placing a soft kiss on your cheek. “I’m sorry, honey.”
It’s unintentional; you’re tired and horny and still annoyed with the stunt he pulled in your dream. You don’t mean to roll your eyes and move away from him. Really, it’s an accident.
There’s a quick flash of hurt across his features before it’s hidden, covering the emotion up with a laugh. “What did you dream about that has you so fussy, baby?”
Chan knows immediately that he hit a nerve. The way you freeze for a beat before dropping your toothbrush back in the holder, avoiding his gaze as you make your way to the door.
“Woah, woah.” He grabs your arm, pausing your escape. The cocky grin he’s wearing sends a new wave of annoyance to your core, tingling on its journey down. “Come on, what went on in that head of yours last night?”
“It’s nothing, Chan-“
“You’re such a bad liar. Was it about me?” You look away from him, glancing at his feet. Got ya. “Hm. And what did I do in this dream?”
One of the things you love about Chan is that he reads you like his favorite book. There’s never any guessing when you’re upset and overthinking — he knows without you even having to say it. When you struggle to express your emotions, he’s steps ahead of you, finding the words that seem to be lost.
In this moment though, you fucking hate it.
Resisting little, you let Chan pull your body closer to his. His hands fall to your hips, pushing you against the bathroom counter and lifting to place you atop of it. Slotting himself between your legs, he begins to toy with the belt of your robe. “Come on, baby, fill me in.”
If it was hard to think before, it’s even worse now; how are you supposed to process anything when your fiancé is dressed in only his boxers, the outline of his growing erection so close to your center. “J-just…things.”
Chan hums as he tugs on the tie, letting the front of your robe fall open. His hands slip inside it, leaning forward to press warm kisses against the cool skin of your neck. “You can do better than that.” The low whisper sends a delightful chill down your spine, back arching into his touch. “Tell me what made my girl a little bratty with me this morning.”
His hands ghost across your upper abdomen, dangerously close to your breast without even touching them. The frustration is out of orbit, thighs clenching with a want you need fulfilled. You spill every detail of your dream, words getting breathier as his kisses become firmer, bits of teeth peeking through and piercing your skin.
When you’re done recounting what’s been agonizing you the entire morning, Chan chuckles against your neck. “That’s what’s got you all pent up?”
Whining, you hook your legs around his waist and bring him in. “S-stop teasing me, Channie-“
“Why?” He nips at your ear, hands traveling down to your hips to pull them flush against his own. His hard on is pressed against your bare core, the gentle pressure making your eyes roll back as you hold back a frustrated cry. “It’s so much fun.”
Bodies tangled, Chan uses his grip on your hips to roll them up and down his length. The friction is beautiful, the tension rolling in waves off your body from the languid movement.
But still. It’s not enough to ease it. Not after all you’ve been through this morning.
“Chan?” You whimper out, trying to add more pressure to the roll of your hips. The grip he has keeps them light, barely brushing against your center. “Will you touch me? Please?”
Pulling his head out of your neck, his kisses move to your jaw line. “But baby, I am touching you.”
God. He’s so fucking frustrating. You feel like you’re going to explode, body aching and begging for him to just do something more. “N-not enough.”
His lips finally reach yours, catching them for a kiss that melts your frozen body. Moaning against his lips, you tangle your fingers in his hair, keeping the kiss locked in. Unlike the movement of your hips, the kiss is needy and frantic, like you’re unable to get enough of each other.
A harsh tug to his curly locks makes Chan break the kiss, deep moan echoing off the bathroom walls and spurring his hands to dive in between your bodies. When his thumb nudges the tip of your clit, you suddenly forget why you were so pressed about waking up early to begin with.
“Good?” Chan chuckles, biting your lower lip to make your moans increase. “Is this what my sweet girl wanted?”
You can’t even speak; brain fuzzy with the pleasure you’ve been craving for hours now. Instead, you tug on his hair hard, yanking it back and giving you access to his neck.
As your teeth and tongue run across the veins of his neck, Chan increases the pressure on your clit along with the speed. “Make a fucking mess on my boxers, and we’ll see about making your dream come true.”

Virtual Chemistry Pt 10
Universe: Modern AU/ College AU/ Cam Boy AU
Rating:  E (Explicit, this is filth)
Length: 2116 Words
A/N: Forgive me for any inconsistency, it's been a hot second.
Anna awoke to the familiar sound of her phone’s alarm and rose with uncharacteristic quickness. It was just the first of the three alarms that she set for herself each morning during the semester, and she couldn’t recall having ever risen with the first one, let alone now when she didn’t need to be up for anything.
Falling asleep with your phone on your face certainly has the benefit of startling you awake.
She made a mental note to avoid the position in the future, and quickly unlocked the device with her fingerprint, just to confirm that last night’s texting had not, in fact, been a dream.
The blue and grey text bubbles that greeted her had her heart fluttering as she looked at the screen and replayed the conversation. He’d been so easy to talk to, and she’d found that having to wait a bit longer for his replies than she was used to when texting Elsa had made each message just that bit more precious. It felt silly to count the extra few seconds as “worth the wait” but it had been.
She flushed when she scrolled down past the last message she remembered sending and receiving, to find another.
Huhgtgcfrgyu
She really had fallen asleep with her phone on her face, and somehow, as it the universe didn’t think she’d had quite enough mortification, the message had sent.
Huh?
She scrolled past his response and found another ten minutes later:
I’m guessing you fell asleep? That’s alright, it’s late.
Then a few minutes after that, a series of texts sent a minute or less apart:
It’s been a long and exhausting semester honestly. I wouldn’t blame you for sleeping all week, I feel like that’s what I’m about to do.
I’m glad you were part of it. Even with everything.
Maybe we can talk about that? The everything?
When we both wake up from our hibernation of course.
Sorry, I’m rambling again.
Sleep well Anna.
She didn’t feel quite so embarrassed by the time she got to the end of his messages back to her. There was something about his messages, short as they were, that mirrored the gentleness with which he treated her in person. There was a nagging part of her that was imagining one more message after what he’d sent. She just couldn’t put out of her mind that he was the sort of man who would end his messages with “I love you”.
She tried to push the thought aside but she only succeeded in hearing his last message in her head, complete with her silly addition, in his voice.
Sleep well Anna, I love you.
It was unfair how her brain could forget the answers to exams after several hours of studying, but how she could perfectly mentally replicate the tone of his voice saying something that she’d never even heard him utter before. She could even imagine how it would sound, breathy in her ear, with her back pressed to his chest and his arms wrapped around her.
She collapsed back on the bed, knowing full well that she wouldn’t be able to put herself back to sleep, but feeling unwilling to face the day until she managed to stop blushing and thinking about how good it would feel to just be in Kristoff’s arms.
***
Kristoff allowed himself a moment to breathe, Sven not the least exhausted at his side, was looking at his owner in rapt anticipation of the next leg of their jog around town.
He’d barely slept, unable to keep himself from listening for his cellphone to chime with another message from Anna all night long, even hours after he’d sent her a goodnight. He’d just stayed up and let his imagination run wild with both the ways he wished and feared his relationship with Anna would evolve in the coming days, weeks, and months. The worst fear was that it wouldn’t go anywhere at all. He already knew her too well to let himself worry about the worst case scenario effecting his work, despite the fact that they still had plenty to talk about there, he knew that Anna was not going to tell anyone about his extracurricular activities.
It had really been his hopes keeping him awake all night. He’d forced himself into a cold morning run at 8 am because of those hopes, because of those fantasies. He’d imagined holding her in his arms and kissing her gently and slow. He’d imagined lifting her from the floor, pressing her back into a wall and swallowing her gasps and whimpers as he kissed her. He’d even thought about what it would feel like to have her small hands explore his body.
Then he’d envisioned carrying her to his bed and giving himself to her in all the ways she wanted him. His fantasy was that she’d share her fantasies with him, carefully curated from hours of watching him, and rife for exploration together.
He flushed now, and not from running, at recalling the ways he’d imagined that he would tuck her into bed at his side, pressing gentle soothing kisses into her hair to help her fall asleep. He wanted everything with Anna, and his active imagination wouldn’t allow him to come up with any situation in which he didn’t take care of Anna in every way. He wanted her for more than sex, he wanted her for life.
The frosty run was helping, but he was still thinking about running toward the park next and launching himself into the partially frozen pond to cool his head. Sven, always excellently observant for a dog, tilted his head at him with curiosity.
“Look buddy,” Kristoff said, huffing from the particularly hard run he’d just subjected them to, “I know you like her a whole lot, and that’s making this even harder because I know you deserve a mom, but we have to give her some space, okay? I kind of did this whole thing wrong I think, and we’re going to have to wait for her. She might not even want to see me again.”
He didn’t have it in him to say that she wouldn’t want to see them both again, because he was extremely aware that he was the one who had screwed up in this situation, and that his dog was, frankly, irresistible, and impossible to stay mad at.
Sven, fully knowing this about himself, huffed through his nose and lowered his head before giving Kristoff a meaningful look.
He knew what the dog was communicating.
Don’t count yourself out yet.
In his pocket, his phone chimed.
The dog wagged his tail in response and Kristoff couldn’t help but chuckle to himself.
“If this is her, I owe you double treats when we get back.”
***
Anna typed and deleted at least five texts as she poked at her oatmeal. Elsa was taking a call in the next room over, and Anna could overhear all the details of the business transaction taking place. It was hard to think about what she wanted to say when she was listening to her sister talking shop. It was a good thing that it was a family business, or her breakfast would constitute corporate espionage.
She finally settled on setting her phone down and actually putting some food into her actual mouth. Normally the quantity of brown sugar and maple syrup she put on top of the oats would have been enjoyable, but she’d spent too long ignoring it and nearly gagged at the cool sticky gruel she’d managed to shovel into her mouth.
She couldn’t stop herself from opening her mouth and letting the mush fall back into the bowl with a very unladylike and unceremonious plop. It wasn’t the oatmeal’s fault that it had turned into a disgusting gluey abomination, but Anna still stared at it with narrowed eyes as if it were the enemy.
It’s too early for this. Or anything.
She sighed and picked up her phone again before standing up deciding that if she was awake, and if her home was currently being used as a corporate office, she may as well go out and get a halfway decent breakfast. Visions of cinnamon rolls danced in her head as she trudged toward her bedroom to don some clothes that were at least halfway appropriate for public consumption.
She decided to tear the proverbial band aid off before tossing the phone on her bed.
Good morning
Two words, zero punctuation, no room to read into anything at all, putting the ball firmly in his court so she didn’t have to text any of the things she wanted to say because they were undoubtedly too much to say now.
She slipped off her pajama yoga pants and made the difficult decision to choose her jeans over her daytime yoga pants after consulting the overly complicated smart home device that Elsa had purchased for her as a birthday gift and being informed that it was too damn cold for thin breathable fabric. Comfort, sometimes, unfortunately had a temperature component.
When her phone buzzed from its place on her unmade bed, she made herself take two whole breaths before descending on it like a woman starved.
Good morning
She grimaced. She’d never been good at tennis but she could see, very clearly, that it had been an easy serve to hit and that the proverbial ball was, once again, in her court.
“Shit.”
She took another two whole breaths before buttoning and zipping her pants and thinking long and hard about both the t-shirt she would choose to wear (whichever was on top) and whether she could text him any of the eighty things she wanted to say.
“Hi Kristoff, just wanted to say that I absolutely didn’t have a dream about you and I making out on a lab table last night because that would be super weird, haha.”
She rolled her eyes at herself and instead typed out what she knew she should say.
Sorry I fell asleep on you last night.
She couldn’t help but to wish that she had fallen asleep on him in the literal sense. She could only imagine how good that might feel. She just hoped that she didn’t mess this up badly enough that she would never get the chance to find out.
It’s okay Anna, I’m glad you got some rest.
She’d tugged her top off while she had been waiting for his response, and she forced herself to choose a shirt to put on while she thought about an answer to send back. It was easy enough to manage the first requirement, tugging on a green sweater when she remembered exactly hot cold the weather was meant to be. The second was, as the rest of the conversation had been on her side, more complicated.
What are you up to this morning?
She played it safe, because the last time she hadn’t, she’d been crushed. She knew Kristoff enough to know that he wouldn’t ever hurt her intentionally, but she’d grown up since her last assumption of a man’s feelings toward her, something that being home brought back to her mind.
She was dressed and out the front door by the time she got his answer.
Just went for a run with Sven. We’re about to get breakfast. Have you ever been to Oaken’s?
Anna nearly snorted out loud, but the cold biting her face kept her from dawdling long enough to manage it. She didn’t run to her car sitting in the driveway, worried about any ice that wasn’t making itself evident, but she did walk briskly.
I used to think they had the biggest cinnamon rolls in the city.
She texted him quickly when she sat in the car and pulled the door shut and then, once she’d managed to click on the seat heater with chilly fingers, she sent a follow up.
You proved me wrong at that diner by campus, but they’re still my emotional support baked good.
She’d been planning on going to a closer, less delicious breakfast place, but there was really no harm in going the extra few minutes towards the city center to join him if that was where he was heading. She did find him much easier to talk to in person after all.
Did you grow up here?
Immediately after, faster than she thought that he could type, her phone buzzed again.
I think I just put two and two together with your last name. I feel like an idiot.
She tried not to laugh, but it was impossible. She suddenly felt much less embarrassed about sending him a sleep gibberish text.

Three Going On Thirteen • Tyrone Mings
Tumblr media
Child/Parent Prompt List v.2 • Number 5
“I Hate You!”
“I HATE YOU!” Your son screamed at the top of his lungs. So loud you were kind of scared that the neighbours would complain or call the police because of how loud he was screaming. Screaming both those words and noise. Along with screaming, he stomped his foot down on the floor just to show how annoyed and angry he was by everything. His face was red and splotchy with tears streaming down his face with snot and everything. He looked a mess and your heart broke whilst looking at him. Well your heart broke but maybe not all because of that reasoning. He was honestly 3 going on 13 and it hurt you. He was having these outbursts somewhat regularly and screaming hurtful words but not once had he said that he hates you and now he has. Nobody told you having a child would be this hard or emotional.
Once your son had run off, probably to his room like a teenager, you allowed the emotions to come down and the tears to fall down your face. Considering your son was only 3 years old you are quite certain that he doesn’t fully understand the effect of those words but still, it hurt and he should probably know that. Your own flesh and blood, you carried him for 9 months and then birthed him just to have him scream that he hates you. It really hurt. At this point you were just on the floor crying and your son was elsewhere in the house. You knew that you should be watching him considering he was dangerously silent but right now you have to be away from him. What is the worst that a 3-year-old can do alone? Probably a lot actually but it would be worse if you were with him. Hopefully Tyrone will be back soon and can help deal with it all. Tyrone will be an innocent party and be able to talk to you both. You were way too mad to speak to your son and Tyrone wouldn’t be. You needed Tyrone.
Like your thoughts could be read, Tyrone walked through the door. Right as you needed you. You did however try to wipe the tears that were falling away just so it wouldn’t be as clear but it was all fruitless. Tyrone would know instantly. He knows you too well and when it comes to you and your son he is very observant so will notice your teary eyes and tear tracks on your face instantly and he’ll probably notice that your son isn’t anywhere near you like he usually is. He will notice these little things. As you were wiping the tears away and trying to make yourself look somewhat normal you could hear Tyrone talking as he walked around the house (you could also hear his footsteps) but you weren’t paying attention to the words he was saying as your mind was too preoccupied. Even though you wiped the tears off of your face, well tried, you still stayed sitting on the floor having no effort to move.
“Y/N. Y/N. Y/N.” Tyrone repeated over and over again when he made it into the same room as you trying to get your attention. As soon as it finally registered in your mind what he was saying, that he was trying to get your attention, you looked at him. There Tyrone was standing with your son in his arms who was hiding his head in Tyrone’s neck like he didn’t want to be seen. The moment that Tyrone saw your face his dropped instantly knowing that something was seriously wrong. With the way that your son was acting you thought that Tyrone would know that something was wrong then but when he saw your face you probably reiterated it. After allowing himself to take in your face you saw him say something softly to your son before putting him on the floor and instantly after his feet got placed on the floor he scurried off. Once again tears built in your eyes knowing that you will have to replay the moment again just so Tyrone can know what happened. You do not want to replay that moment again. Tyrone watched your son run off before giving you his undivided attention. Well as much attention as he can do with a 3-year-old running around the house.
“What happened?” Tyrone asked you seriously, kneeling down in front of you placing his right hand on your cheek and wiping the tears away with his thumb as they fell. Him kneeling in front of you, blocking everything else so he was the only thing you could see, his touch on your face, just everything he was doing was comforting. Something that was very much needed. You needed the comfort from somebody that loves you very much before reliving what happened again. Tyrone was 100% that comfort person.
“Take your time,” Tyrone comfortingly said when you hadn’t spoken for a couple of minutes. He had seen you attempt to speak but every time a sob would leave your mouth stopping you. You were getting frustrated that you couldn’t get the words out but Tyrone saying to you to take your time helped slightly. You could calm yourself down, catch your breath and manage to tell Tyrone what had happened whilst he was out of the house.
“Earlier he wanted some of the chocolate but I told him to wait a little bit longer until you come back because you were bringing ice cream and .ice cream is his favourite. If you brought back ice cream he would want that when he sees it and he shouldn’t have both ice cream and chocolate especially when it’s dinner soon. Anyway, he was screaming about it so I tried to explain and talk to him to try to get him to calm down. He shouted- He shouted that- He shouted that he hates me,” You explained to Tyrone and your voice broke by the end of it. A sob even left your lips and before you knew it you were fully crying once again.
“He said he hates me,” You repeated and as soon as those words left your lips you felt Tyrone’s arms wrap themselves around you and you just melted into them. One of his hands ran up and down your back whilst the other was tightly around you pulling you close to his own body like he was trying to protect you from the world. Like every other time you’re hurting and need comfort being in Tyrone’s arms helps so much. You’re so lucky you found someone who can help you deal with everything and be the only person in the world who is able to give you comfort. He is the only person who doesn’t get pushed away by you when feeling upset and he is the only person who is able to just hug you and make you feel so much better.
“I’ll talk to him,” Tyrone spoke out as soon as you had calmed down. As soon as he thought that you would be fine on your own for a few minutes. He’d rather not leave you alone when you’re feeling so devastated but if he wants to sort this mess out then he will have to. He has to talk to your son alone and get his side and then explain why saying ‘I hate you’ to people isn’t nice especially when he doesn't mean it. Before he left he pressed a soft kiss to your temple before wandering off to find your son.
Even when Tyrone moved away from you and left the room you didn’t move off of the floor, not even sure that you could, you just watched the door waiting for either your son or Tyrone, or even both to walk through the door and put this whole ordeal behind you. Is that too much to ask for? It’s been an emotional and hard day and you just want to put it all behind you so all you need is to make sure you make up with your son so hopefully Tyrone can get through to him. When you heard the sound of pitter-patter footsteps coming towards the room that you were in.
“I’m sorry mummy, I love you not hate you. I love you,” Your son cried running right into your arms. You pulled him into one of the tightest hugs that you ever had. So tight that you’re not even sure that he could breathe properly but he wasn’t complaining so you will continue to hold him this tight until he tries to leave your arms. It won’t be long until he no longer wants these hugs so you were going to cherish it for as long as possible. Whilst hugging him you tilted your head up to face Tyrone and mouthed ‘thank you’ to him and all he did in return was shrug. This was only part of his job. He started this family with you so it’s only part of his job to help deal with the arguments between you and your son just like you would if he was arguing with your son. He helps be the mediator and will always help.
“How about some ice cream?” Tyrone asked excitedly, clapping his hands together to make sure he got your attention. All he had to say was the word ‘ice cream’ and he had your son’s attention and that definitely happened this time. As soon as he heard the word ‘ice cream’ he wiggled out of your arms and ran off to the kitchen. Meanwhile, Tyrone helped you stand up and brought you into a soft kiss. A soft and affectionate kiss which you really needed after the day you’ve had. Tyrone’s kisses are almost magical and after the hug with your son, the magic was really working. Unfortunately, having a child means that the kiss couldn’t last long no matter how much you wanted it to, his lips were addicting. When you pulled away from one another you could finally ask him the question that was on your mind as soon as your son came running into the room.
“What did you even say to him?” You questioned Tyrone.
“That’s between me and him but he’ll hopefully think before he speaks now,” Tyrone confidently starting to make his way to the kitchen but you grabbed his arm before he could and raised one eyebrow at him without saying a word for a couple of seconds. You were trying to read his face and expressions and by the way that he’s acting you just knew that he had promised your son something. Tyrone is able to read you well but you are able to read him well and even maybe better. It’s what comes after years of dating and it can be helpful.
“You promised him ice cream didn’t you,” You chuckled to Tyrone who looked very bashful at that moment like he had been caught. You couldn’t help but laugh knowing that it probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do considering your son will probably expect this every time now but it worked and you liked the fact that it worked. As long as Tyrone actually spoke to him and explained it to him then you’re fine with a little bit of bribing. As much as you hate to admit it Tyrone bribes you with food occasionally and it works also.
“Maybe,” He laughed before you heard your son complaining from the kitchen so you and Tyrone had to make your way there before he has another tantrum. Not before another quick and sneaky kiss with Tyrone though. (Your child did start to complain even louder. You definitely have to teach your son patience.)
