alright mr/ms. idgaf ! — these “nonchalant” ass mfs act like they don’t give a damn that y’all fought, it’s whatever. no it’s not. these mfs are literally hurting in the chest, they just know how to cover it up well that’s all it is. well, at first they will play it off as if they genuinely don’t care and continue on with their day, playing a game of “who falls first” and believing they’ll win. but as the day goes on, they feel a growing pit of pain and regret. they feel like something is missing and start to spiral when they realize they miss you too much. they can’t keep living like this and call you quickly but cover the much earlier mood by acting nonchalant. they’re pretending that they ain’t care that much, don’t believe them babes !

I mean, a way through a person’s heart is through music, prove me wrong? exactly. they’ve stalked your music profile and gathered what you listen to on a regular day, creating a playlist off it. they think of an idea that is brilliant, so brilliant that they’re standing outside your window at two a.m. with a boombox (yes they still make those) in their hand, and “be without you” by mary j blige is playing. they’re screaming screeching the lyrics at the top of their lungs until you text them to stop and come inside. the music stops and they walk inside with quickness and ridiculously stupid smile on their face <3

i apologize a trillion times — they are in the same category as dramatic but more subtle??? I mean they’re not snot-nosed crying on instagram or posting pictures of you two with some corny music playing in the background with the captions “guys tell y/n to take me back” “I miss my bae” “I’d rather d*e than let y/n leave me”. but depending on the person, they would find any way, shape, or form to apologize. I mean anyway, through a message from an airplane, sending you ten text messages, yes ten, of long paragraphs saying that they’re sorry and they love you so much. they’ll even apologize to you through email, with the subject saying “BABY I MISS YOU”. in conclusion, they’re just “dramatic ass mfs” in a different font

Yeah. The moment I realised how many voice Japanese actors that I liked were in it, I just had to go for it. I’ve finished the first season now btw and will probably watch the movie later today. I’ll give you my person opinions in the DMs because imo it’s easier like that. Especially since I put some references to certain episodes in there and even use a quote at some point. And I totally understand your feelings towards Mahiru and even though I don’t have those, I do have some protective feelings towards him and some other characters. I like how it was even obvious to you and I’ll tell you that even by the end he’s still one of my faves but in a ‘wants to be there for him’ kind of way. Like I’d want to create a friend for him more above anything else. Yeah. I discovered two in different ways. Mikuni has me intrigued and I want to see more of him and he’s just so fun to watch. Then we have Hyde / Lawless who just… *holds hedgehog gently*. I was looking forward to seeing him because he’s voiced by one of my favourite Japanese voice actors (who is also in Haikyuu!! and makes his first appearance in the second season) and also because of his little dance in the end credits and he gives me so many feelings, none romantic but still all the feelings. I presume the fave that your talking about here is the character you mentioned in our DMs. I like him and understand him and hope that if he appears in the future, under better circumstances. I like how you love both. The opening song is a bit too intense for me so I always skipped it, but I would always listen to the ending song whenever I could.

Also, there’s something I want to ask. I do plan on reading the manga at some point, once I’ve done the first reread of that story I plan on posting later this year, and I was wondering how accurate of an adaptation the anime is. Like can I just start where the anime left off on or should I start earlier somewhere? Also, a few days ago you mentioned in a post that you would like to hear about our favourite friendships and I have to say that Mahiru and Sakuya are now def a favourite of mine. It’s just such a good friendship with interesting layers to it.

I'm just so glad you ended up going for it and Jesus, compared to me, you watch so quickly! I'll admit that I didn't watch the movie myself. In an odd turn from how I usually do things, I had watched the first couple episodes of the anime first but knew within the first three episodes that I loved it and really wanted to give the manga a shot too and while I finished the twelve episodes of the anime, I just stayed manga only after that. I might give the movie a shot when I do my reread and catch up of the manga in March and rewatch of the anime. I'll probably talk more about Servamp to you in our dm's, just because, like you said, it's probably easier that way, though as usual, I'm terrible at responding to those quickly and probably will need a couple more days before I respond, especially since (though I adore how much we talk, please don't think I don't) we talk a lot and have so much to say to each other that it normally takes me an hour or three to properly write out my messages to you.

I will say, I was surprised by Lawless so much! I had figured you'd like Mikuni…I love him, I honestly do, he's a fantastic character, especially in the later manga chapters and just I am always so curious about him and every time I think I have him figured out, I second guess myself. But Lawless surprised me. He's truly fantastic too, but I would have guessed you would have loved Licht the more out of the two of them. But that is very cool to learn about Lawless' voice actor! I know how much a good voice actor can mean to you. And see, in a surprising twist here, among my many eclectic music tastes, your girl here absolutely loves metal music or anything along those lines, so the opening really hits me right and it's actually on my hiking playlist because it makes me wanna get up and move and push hard.

As for the adaption of manga to anime, I haven't rewatched the anime fully in a bit, but I think it was a fairly decent adaption, but the ending of the anime was different from manga continuity. I think, but feel free to correct me if it turns out that I am wrong, that it was a case of the anime getting ahead of the manga? I know I personally noticed enough little differences in the manga when I started right from the beginning that I wasn't bored, even covering some of the same territory the anime did, and the art is just a joy in the manga, but I'd love to hear from other Servamp fans. What would you guys say in terms of where to start in the manga??

AND YES TO MAHIRU AND SAKUYA. I love their friendship, I love their bond and connection and how difficult it is for these friends to really have to be on opposite sides of what really is a war. Just a random ask lol do you ever hc what kind of music tour faves listen to?

hiya! sometimes i do, yeah. it’s not something i do for every single one of my faves, but sometimes it strikes me. like for example i 100% headcanon suna from haikyuu as someone who listens to trap, metal and rock music, but will occasionally indulge in a road trip sing-a-long of some popular pop song. it’s his guilty pleasure.

generally, different characters strike different categories of headcanons for me, and not everyone’s the music headcanon type. different things for different faves. like suna and trap music. like how chris from daiya is an absolute passenger seat princess. and how taiyou can tie a knot on a cherry stem with his tongue and eats pussy like a professional. but either way. suna is the most prominent have for me when it comes to music. maybe because he’s the one character i can see listening to some of the same types of music as me.

MHA Characters and Kpop

Had to make a Tumblr account real quick once inspiration struck. Was doing dishes and listening to kpop wondering which groups the characters would stan or listen to

Midoriya: I see him listening to Oneus. They are a group I don't hear much about but their music is so amazing and the perfect combination of hype and chill.

Shoto: BTS. Um tbh V popped up in my head so I guess I think me Shoto and V would get along great thus he is an Army.

Bakugo: I was going to joke around with this one but honestly Bakugo is intense so I would think of a group with an intense vibe/discography. Maybe Stray Kids? I'll have to think more on it. As for a girl group (G)Idle.

Toga (who inspired this imagine): Twice. And I see the irony if I can call it that. But also Loona. I just think I could take her to a girl group concert and have a great time.

Kirishima: I am biased and want the best boi to stan my best bois Ateez. Like yes Kiri, Rocky was made for you! And also playing off of his red theme I think of Cherry Bullet another fave of mine. I am guilty.

Denki: MCND and ITZY. I am similar to Denki and he knows ITZY is talent and can get hype to MCND. enough said.

Dabi: (who also inspired this imagine) TXT. I was a major Dabi hater back in the day and TXT hater. But what do you know I've wised up and they are both a vibe. Good Boy Gone Bad! No but Dabi's dark vibe and TXT's make me happy so I like to think he'd at least vibe with one of their songs. In the back of my mind I dare say Dabi could be a Dreamcatcher fan

Thank you for the ask Niki! I suffer from recency bias, so I tend to like the things I've written more recently haha. Here's five of my favorite of my own fics in no particular order.

more or less (Blue Lock, Isagi/Rin, T, 5k)

I learned a lot about Lightning Ridge in Australia when I wrote this, and it was a lot of fun imagining what our fave Blue Lock characters would do on a geology rock-finding expedition. It is self-indulgent as heck!

2. you've got nothing on my tendency (to be led astray) (BNHA, Dabihawks, T, 5k)

This was inspired by a Twitter meme I've lost about demon summoning but the demon falls for the summoner, and I think it's funny! It's another college AU. I write a lot of short one-shots in the under 6k range and that's actually my preferred WC when writing fic, even though I have been known to write longer.

3. a day without rain (Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Sylvix, T, 4.9k)

This was a gift for a dear friend and I went ham on it and dumped everything I know she would like. a day without rain is my love letter in gay fanfic form to Brooklyn, New York and winter, that oft-maligned season. I'm really proud of how it turned out.

4. there and back again (JJK, Satosugu, 96k)

This fic. Gahhh. Where do I start? I started this as an NaNoWriMo project, and it just kind of grew from there. It's incredibly self-indulgent, where I dumped in all this music I love. there and back again is my love letter to the love of family. It's not perfect, but I'm proud of being able to finish something this long.

5. 4115 campus drive (Haikyuu, Iwaoi, 2k)

I had the idea for this one in 2020 when we found out collectively that Iwaizumi went to UC Irvine, but it didn't come together structurally untll 2022 when another good friend cheered me on. This was my first Iwaoi fic ever, despite me being a total Iwaoi stan between 2016-2019 haha.

several - i discovered this absolute gem by @shotzgoboom, this gorgeous art by @transformersluna and also i loved all of @hinata-boke's "every day a haikyuu character, but these three were my favorites

12 - favorite fic of the year

again, a few. on tumblr there were three tword fics i absolutely loved this year: Corruption by @giggly-squiggily, this tickletober fic by @ticklygiggles and Oh, how the mighty fall by @parkersaysthings. I'm typically person who enjoys everything and will suit myself with anyone's preferences. So, i guarantee our chat wouldn't be as dry. Try have some talk with me first.

I love listening to old songs, mostly 80s and 90s. It's nostalgic. My Top 3 faves are Bon Jovi, MLTR and Bryan Adams. Sleeping Child and Always are my all time favorite songs. But, beside of that, I also listen to vary genres of music such as K-Pop, J-Pop, J-Rock, slow rock, ballad and even some classical. Sometime I just go to any random playlist on Spotify.

Adding my (another) favorite musicians here, just in case we share the same interest. I love Taeyeon, Dreamcatcher, NewJeans, Eve, Yoasobi, Higedan, Cenmilli, Keshi, Sheila on 7 and Peterpan. I'm just a casual fan, casual listener. But I have biases, lol. This germ loves JiU, Danielle, Hanni and pengwin Myoui Mina.

I don't talk much about music, neither do I like to share Spotify link on timeline that often. But I love talking about movies or series. I don't have, uh, a letterboxd to share (actually i'm too lazy to edit it) but I can give you some of my recommendations if you want. Let's share our fav movies.

I also watch vary of movies. I'm ok with any genre except the heavy gore and extremely triggering one. My favs are the GOAT Harry Potter, Narnia, Sherlock Holmes both the movies and it's series, The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl, Josee The Tiger and The Fish, A Silent Voice, Ghibli and of course Makoto Shinkai movies.

Besides, I'd call myself an otaku. I watch anime and read some mangas. I love typical mystery, psychological, crime anime. That's why I really love Bungou Stray Dogs! Buuuut, I watch other genre as well. I like Attack on Titan, Fruit Basket, Haikyuu!, Zankyou no Terror, Psycho Pass, K-ON!, the amazing the greatest NARUTOOOO, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, etc.

Other: I watch Vtubers. I don't catch up to all their schedules, I just watch them at my leisure time. Most of them are livers from Nijisanji (EN). I love Luxiem esp. Ike Eveland and Shu Yamino, Enna Alouette and Kuro Kurenai.

I play games, Genshin Impact is one of them. I'm currently on AR 60, dead geemu dead me, only suffer myself doing artifact farming. Anyone here wanna do some trash picking at Momiji Court? :) Anyway i'm Neuvillette main. Interested in lore, theory crafting, meta, ship, just anything about this game. My fav ships are kazuscara, xiaother, ganqing, arlebina and cynonari.

Some Genshin players are moving to Honkai Star Rail, me? I'm loyal so I play both. Currently in TL 70. I'm Kafka and Blade main. Befriend me, I'll support you with my (average) emo-chan. I'm just casual HSR player so I don't know much about it, but would love to listen you theory-dump me especially with it's lore.

I play rhythm game as well. Not that good, I just enjoy playing game while listening to it's music. I used to play A LOT OF THEM, but the only one remain is Project Sekai. I barely logged in but still enjoy playing them. I'm in global server anw. I like MORE MORE JUMP! (Shizuku).

favorite character / shiratorizawa - Maybe Tendou? I dunno. He and Ushijima grew on me

favorite character / inarizaki - Osamu. Like even though he is as much of a pain as Atsumu, but I actively dislike sakuatsu which is everywhere xD

favorite coach - Ukai Keishin. Most of the other coaches don't stand out much, although I do like some of them, Ukai is the fave (for obvious reasons xD)

favorite ship (if you ship) - Most Bokuto ships! My top ones are AkaBoku, BoKuro, OiBoku and OsaBoku - but honestly? any and all bottom Bo is my jam

favorite team - ehhhhh.... I mean we see the most of Karasuno, and I do like them, but I'll go with Fukurodani

favorite scene - actually most of the game against Inarizake. Partly they actually got the music right (cos all that jazz during the Mizaki interhigh? lolllllll way to take you out. it's as bad as the andes adventuring music in Kuroko), but just a lot of exciting things happen and I like most of that game a lot!

starting a haikyuu!! rewatch yesterday and catching up on the latest ultra miami sets from my fave dj’s today threw me all the way back to the worst time of my illness because both of them were such a crutch for me at the time. i clung to both of them for dear life throughout 2017 and they’ve supported me ever since. at that time, when my grip on reality was shaky at best, they were the only things that really grounded me and made me feel like keeping on was worth it. music has been my favourite thing and greatest support for as long as i can remember but edm sets make me feel alive in a way nothing else ever has. discovering tons of new people, including my now favourite dj’s, and set after set was exhilarating. knowing there was always more to look forward to, and supported by weekly podcasts in the meantime, was a lifeline.

and then there was hq!!, the goodness of which comforted me all the time. my three boys, the small plushies, were the only things that could comfort me throughout the worst of the psychosis. i can’t even explain how much of a comfort they were and still are. they were with me all the time - they even came with me to the hospital for my first consultations, iwa-chan sitting on my lap with encouragement from the nurses when it all became too much to talk about. writing my pain through bokuto or oikawa, thinking about iwa-chan as a support and being soothed by it, loving on all three of those boys all the time and thinking about them all the time - these things helped me immensely. it’s often shocking to read what i wrote back then, shocking to see how ill i really was, but i’m so grateful i had characters that i felt so aligned with (bokuto in particular, my greatest muse) that they could help me through what was such a messy, difficult time.

yeah, i don’t know. it’s not exactly a nostalgia trip but every so often i’m reminded of that time by something or another, and everytime it shocks me to remember how bad things were, but both of these things in such close proximity really hit me today. i don’t think i can ever put into words how grateful i am for finding the dj’s i did back then, or how glad to have had something as calming and feelgood as hq!! in my life. i look back at the wreckage of that year and don’t know how i’d have gotten through it without either of them. they were my absolute lifeline.
