you and hongjoong decided to do a competition to see who could make the best 2024 cookies for the new year and whoever won got to choose what the loser would do for them

while you were making the batter for your cookies hongjoong wanted to mess you up and put a smudge of flour on your face

mess everywhere: flour on the kitchen counter, cookie batter chunks in your face, and icing covered all over

even though you guys were messy you still ended up making the cookies and decided to go and take a nice hot shower together

you guys were actually planning to leave on December 30 to get home on time for the new years but your flight got delayed

you knew you guys wouldn't be able to make it home on time for the new years, so you spent it in the city of Paris

took you on a midnight picnic to watch the fireworks on the beach, ending it with a midnight walk back to you apartment

don't worry you made it home after new years to give ateez their presents you bought

you hurriedly search for san, bumping into people left right when suddenly you see san also searching for you

you both make eye contact rushing towards each other, embracing into each other and kissing right when the countdown goes to 0

picked out every last movie you both love to watch until the clock hits 12

lots of cuddling, eating snacks, and laughing together at stupid scenes in your favorite movies

Hello again! Please elaborate on why you don’t like Bram Stokers Dracula (1992) I love hearing people go off and I think I’ll agree with your conclusion since I don’t like it either haha

HI thanks for sending this as an ask!! Here's a very long, convoluted response. Warning: it is not proofread.

So, the main reason I don't like Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) is because of accuracy. Now, I am completely fine when a book-to-film adaptation isn't a perfect recreation of the book (frankly thats impossible imo) but MAN does this adaptation do the original book injustice. The romance between Dracula and Mina?? The plot line about Dracula's dead wife? Renfield originally working with Harker?? MINA ATTEMPTING TO SEDUCE VAN HELSING???? Really, most of the injustice is done to Mina as a character. Book!Mina is such a strong, well written character. She is integral to the plot and to the book's structure (we would not have had all of the letters, newspaper clippings, and diary entries without her). The book itself states this with how often the Dude Squad (I think I got that title from an Overly Sarcastic Productions video, im going to keep using it) directly tell Mina that they could not have defeated Dracula without her. She is resilient, smart, and stands up for herself. 1992!Mina is not this. James V. Hart, who wrote the screenplay, took everything that made Mina Mina and created a stereotypical damsel character. It's a shame because I strongly believe that Winona Ryder could play a killer, book-accurate Mina Harker.

Speaking of who plays the characters... the cast is really hit or miss for me personally. I do think Winona Ryder and Anthony Hopkins are good picks (especially based off of the book portrayals) and I remember liking Cary Elwes as Arthur Holmwood. Tom Waits as Renfield is a pretty inspired choice ngl.

But. Keanu. Don't get me wrong, I love Keanu Reeves. I think he is great in Bill and Ted's and John Wick. But that's why it confuses me as to why he was cast in this film. He can't do the accent, he shows no emotion, and it sounds like he is remembering his lines as he says them. In fact, my family and I quote his lines in this film as a joke all the time ("Is the castle far?"). None of his former roles at the time implied that he would be a good Jonathan either.

I can't remember much of Gary Oldman's performance, I just know I didn't like it lmao. He made Dracula too suave when he's really just a Creature.

Note: in looking up the cast I was reminded that Richard E. Grant plays Seward and as a fan of Saltburn (2023) that is just. hilarious to me.

I only went into this movie because I was told I would like it because the production design was pretty. Honestly? It's not. The film is poorly lit and the costumes are questionably accurate. The few shots I can remember are for the wrong reasons- such as that One Scene with Lucy in the cemetery. I won't get into it much more, it makes me extremely uncomfortable, but its another instance of Bram Stoker's Dracula taking away everything that made the female characters interesting.

Honestly? The best thing I can say about this movie is that it included Quincey. He's my favorite and he usually doesn't make it to screen adaptations. I'm happy you're here buddy.

I think what infuriates me is the title. Bram Stoker's Dracula implies that this adaptation takes a lot from the book. It's not just Dracula, it's Bram Stoker's Dracula. It's like saying that this adaptation is the most faithful. But... it's not. Bram Stoker's Dracula takes more of it's inspiration from old Universal films and previous Dracula adaptations than it does from the actual book. Thats okay! I'm all for new interpretations of old stories. But if you're a new interpretation that changes half of the characters and plot, don't market said interpretation with the original authors name.

This is not Bram Stoker's Dracula, it's Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula.

Which, even then, this is weak for Coppola. I'm not a huge fan of his work (I've seen The Godfather and Apocalypse Now) but I can understand and appreciate why he is as influential as he is. I think his films are well written and beautifully shot. He has great casts who elevate the writing and make their characters memorable. This film goes against all of that and that bothers me so much. It feels like a cheap imitation of Coppola's work.

Anyway- that sums up my thoughts on Bram Stoker's Dracula. I reallt enjoyed writing this, as someone who wants to be a film historian but doesn't actually get to do film-deep dives this was pretty refreshing haha. Good reminder that this is a film blog, not a podcast one.

Feel free to ask me more about movies, especially if you like Dracula! I am of the opinion that there is no good adaptation of Dracula... but I have ideas on how to fix that so...

What’s your favorite American Housewife episode? I can’t pick a favorite but I have a few fav episodes from every season.

I’ll do one a season because I love so many. And they might be less my favorite but more memorable to me (if you get what I’m saying)

⚠️SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT SEEN AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE!!⚠️

Season 1, is Episode 12 “Surprise!” Because it was Oliver’s bday which is already special but it was also the first episode where we actually see and meet cooper for the first time. Baby Cooliver really makes my heart warm and seeing Oliver and his dad share a moment was super sweet.

Season 2, is between episodes 17 “All Coupled Up” and episode 19 “It’s Hard To Say Goodbye.” Ep 17 showed more cooliver but also showed Gina (Oliver’s gf at the time) and how Gina was making Oliver someone he isn’t. It gave us some lovely Cooper and Katie moments and it was when Anna-Kat made it “official” with Franklin. Plus we got some Trip and Taylor too so all together a jam packed episode. Ep 19 was when Spencer passed on and we got to see a more emotional Oliver and a more caring Katie. Katie and Oliver’s relationship is very complex as they have the most distant relationship out of all the Otto kids imo and this really showcased how much she truly cares about Oliver and his emotions.

Season 3, is also between 2 episodes. Ep 13 “Mo Money, Mo Problems” and Ep 23 “A Mom’s Parade.” Ep 13, was a fav for me since we saw Katie and Greg get some alone time but we also saw Cooliver and got some Taylor being a great big sis to Oliver so all in all a good episode. Ep 23 is good because I love music and musicals lol. I literally have all the songs on my Spotify playlist, “You Can Do You” is a certified bop. Katie’s voice was amazing and i honestly wished for a 2 hour musical special after that 😂

Season 4, is between 4 episodes (I literally can’t pick one 😭) Ep 6 “ Girls night out”, Ep 14 “A very English scandal”, Episode 19 “Vacation!”, and Episode 20 “Prom.” I liked ep 6 since we saw Cooper and Trip basically become permanent members of the family and the adorable scene of them recreating the picture will also be in the back of my mind. Ep 14 was when Oliver “came out” lol and we got see to see Oliver be who he truly wants to be (he just doesn’t realize it yet) and I loved how everyone thought it made sense and that Cooper was his boyfriend 😂. Plus the love story between Greg and Viv made my heart happy. Ep 19 was a breath of fresh air as it was actually shot outside and in LA which was nice. We got a Cooliver side storyline which ended in them agreeing that with Oliver’s family and Cooper’s money that they work perfectly together which made me so happy. Anna-Kat and Taylor had some bonding going on and I love to see it. Episode 20 was great, I’ll always love a prom/dance episode. I was sad that Oliver went to prom with the teen help line girl and not Cooper (especially since the teen help line girl ignores him next season 🙄.) but the little dance scene at the end was cut and that was the last episode with OG Anna-Kat 😭.

Season 5, is Ep 1 “Graduation”, Ep 3 “Coupling”, and Ep 4 “Homeschool Sweet Homeschool.” Ep 1 was great as we say Taylor graduated but we also saw that Cooper was moving away. Oliver was so sad and lost that entire episode at the thought of loosing his Cooper. But it made me so happy that Oliver had a heart to heart with Katie and in the end Cooper moved in with Oliver and the family. Ep 3, was so full of Cooper and Oliver acting like an old married couple and I loved it. Katie and Greg even joked about making them a sex basket like they gave Trip and Taylor. (Side note: I love how supportive Greg and Katie are of Oliver’s sexuality. LGBTQ+ or not, they love their son and just want him happy 🫶🏾.) Ep 4, once again full of Cooliver moving in together and having those married couple vibes.

Basically anything with Cooliver I loved which was a lot of episodes lol. Trip and Anna-Kat’s relationship was so precious to me as he was a second older brother to her and it warmed my heart. But anyway tysmmmm for asking me stuff and don’t be shy to ask more. 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

Thanks a lot for the update!! It's amazing to read Tom and Harry's interactions, the different way they see the world and how they complement each other!! I have a few questions, is that ok? Tom had said in previous chapters that he didn't see much in Harry as a person, does he still think that way? Does Tom realize that Harry is someone who cares about others and will never fully belong to anyone or does he still see him as a pet? And that slap, man, that was personal, Tom wants to be Harry's only family but he still doesn't think of Harry as family, right? I think the Tom of now just wants to take everything he can out of Harry, the thought of reprocity must not even have come to his mind yet lol And Harry.. oh man, I don't know if he noticed but I don't think he treats Tom like a friend, it seems to be something between enemy and a lover, oh I don't know! maybe I'm rushing but the way Harry took Tom's hand (TWICE AAAAA) gave me an "I'm with you" vibe I still get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it!! I wonder what Tom was thinking when Harry took his hand in front of Dumbledore and then when it was just the two of them!! Aa Katrin, you are certainly my favorite author!!🙇‍♀️❤️❤️ and again thanks you so much!!!

Thank you for such an amazing review, I'm so happy you liked this new chapter! I really enjoy writing about these versions of Tom and Harry. They are so drawn to each other, I can barely keep them apart, lol.

And sure, I love questions! Tom's opinion on Harry has certainly evolved. Harry brought something uniquely new into his life, so he finds himself appreciating the banter, the kind of devotion where Harry supports him but still criticizes him, even his own possessiveness. Tom is still not sure about it, but he likes doing small things to take care of Harry. I'd say that this enjoyment has a pretty condescending nature for now, but it's progress nonetheless. Tom considers Harry his person and he likes exploring the nuances and limits of this new relationship and dynamic. So at this point, he does see something in Harry. He understands that Harry is a potential leader and a threat, but he's too immersed in their bond for it to take precedence.

It's not that he considers Harry a pet, but he doesn't acknowledge him as an actual individual either, not entirely. Tom is just not used to people being what Harry is supposed to be to him. He considers everyone either a tool, someone worthless, or an enemy. Harry got into a separate new category, and Tom doesn't know what to do or how to feel about him yet. It's obvious in the scene where he tries to comfort Harry by stroking his hair. It's awkward and weird, and Tom is never awkward with others. On the contrary, other people know him as charming and smooth. That's because he's constantly manipulating and pretending with everyone - with Harry, he's stuck somewhere in the middle. He's trying on a new role and he's not very good at it yet. Their bond is so new that he's only starting to figure it out.

With reciprocation, it's pretty complex. Tom understands that if he wants Harry to feel something for him, he needs to reciprocate. So he's been trying to do it in some ways, like by helping Harry re-discover his appetite. Tom thinks Harry could be his potential family because he believes this occured in another universe. He's determined to make it happen again, to recreate it, and he acknowledges that he has to make an effort, too. But the majority of the things he does come from his logic. He realizes that Harry is looking for mutuality, so he's making conscious and calculated choices to give it to him. Very little of it is instinctive and emotionally genuine. But these moments will be increasing with every chapter.

It's funny because Harry and Tom are basically playing a game. Harry created a setting with fictional characters and now they both work to correspond to it and to become someone they never were. Harry is playing someone who loved Tom, who considered him the focus of everything, and he's gradually buying into his own lies. Tom is also playing, trying to recreate something that never really happened, not knowing that what he strives for, what he's prepared to change himself for bit by bit is a complete and total lie.

I honestly thought canon Harry felt vague, distant attraction to Tom Riddle, with how obsessed he seemed to be with his beauty, so I'm playing it up in this story, where Harry spends so much time with him and is determined to get close to him. I think he's attracted to Tom already, even though he doesn't realize it, and since his own lies get to him, a part of him started to believe in the universe where only the two of them mattered - emotionally, at least. Harry begins to treat Tom like someone he loves, even though he doesn't love him yet, and I find it fascinating to describe and explore it.

In a scene where Harry grabbed Tom's hand in front of Dumbledore, Tom felt reassured, and because it's a new and strange feeling, he promptly felt curious and wary. Later, when Harry took his hand again in the Room of Requirement, Tom felt complete. Like he wasn't alone now, like he wouldn't be alone ever again. He never thought that Harry might want to come with him. It's one thing for Harry to love and care about his (made-up) Tom, but to be willing to risk his life and sanity for this new version? Tom cannot comprehend it - he's stunned, captivated, amazed. It means a huge deal to him.

He'd be even more stunned if he knew that Harry's story is bullshit and that Harry is willing to risk his safety for someone who was always his enemy :D That's typical Harry, though.

An ATEEZ fanfic by AbsentCaryatid

The reader makes a new friend at the mall, one just as interested in LEGO and K-pop as the reader.

2.2K words, Content note: all ages, gender neutral reader, no reader romance, lots of LEGO mentions, Seonghwa gets San as a romantic partner and the reader is very happy for them.

It was the day a life-changing friendship was to be born, but you could not have known that at the time. The lanky man who stood before you bore a staff tag with the name Seonghwa. You had found yourself in his warm presence due to a chance visit to the mall for a quick lunch. With time to spare afterward, you had chosen to stop over at the adjacent LEGO store to see if the 'Dynamite' BTS set was back in stock.

“Still backordered I'm afraid, and no date set for when it might be available again.” As your face fell, the rather stunning clerk nodded sympathetically. “It was a lucky thing I could get mine before the store opened on the day it dropped, a perk of working here, along with the generous staff discount. I'm in the same boat on my Star Wars Razor Crest set though, so I know the production wait can be difficult. Is there anything else I can show you while you are here?”

Picking your jaw up off the floor after recalling the cost of the Mandalorian ship and how much this guy must really like LEGOs, you managed to resume the conversation. “Thank you, no. I devour the online and print catalogs so I'm pretty familiar with all the sets that interest me.” You turned to leave then spun back with a delighted expression. “Actually, I had forgotten I want to work on a new custom build. I like to recreate music video sets from my favorite K-pop groups. Got a little bit behind in ATEEZ releases and I still have to complete last year's final video.”

Seonghwa followed your train of thought with swiftly delivered knowledge on the level of a dedicated fan. “Oh, 'HALAZIA', that one is great.” He even did a little of the hand choreography on the spot. Not particularly smoothly, but Seonghwa was a store employee and not an idol. With a self-effacing little lick of his lips as he seemed to recall what he was supposed to be doing on the clock, he then enthusiastically asked, “You thinking the wet abandoned mall or the stadium for the scene?”

“Eventually I'll build both, but want to start with the stadium because I like the effigy.”

Seonghwa grinned as he made a beeline for the minifigure accessories. “You are going to need this western hat in black then. Wait, forgive me. If you are familiar with recreating scenes for ATEEZ you probably already have the 'HALA HALA' style hat already.”

“I'm not about to raid my 'Say My Name' or 'Answer' builds on display to get those hats so I have been buying them in bulk online every time they show up in a video. Going to need a lot of yellow pennants from the knights range though, and some more drawbridge chains to repurpose.”

With the store otherwise unoccupied, Seonghwa spent the better part of an hour excitedly talking to you as he assisted in finding the best part matches for your planned LEGO build. He impressed you with his knowledge of the full range of specialized parts, an equal to your own expertise from years of play. It felt good to meet a kindred spirit who liked to go beyond the instructions with a hobby of designing free-form creations.

The surprising shared interest in K-pop also had you warming up to the engaging salesperson. You were charmed as Seonghwa felt comfortable enough to disclose his fantasy of being in the popular six-person group ATEEZ. “I like to imagine the idols in a circle dancing to 'HALAZIA' and there I would be in the center right along with them.” The joy left his face. “You probably think I am silly.”

It was the admission that your daydreams ran like that sometimes too which cemented a mutual affection for each other. You became a regular in his store rather than purchasing online, and together would pore over the Pick-a-Brick catalog on his lunch breaks whenever you were nearby. As much as you loved the conversation, you were concerned he needed time off the subject. “Are you sure you are okay with talking LEGO parts over lunch? That means you’re not really getting away from work.”

Touched by your thoughtfulness, Seonghwa beamed and lightly placed a hand on your shoulder. “This is working on a hobby with a friend. We can call each other friends by now, right?” From that day onward you would meet up outside the store for comfortably platonic meals out or visiting each other's homes. Star Wars content and music videos became a typical reason to find yourselves together when not consulting each other on various LEGO projects.

As he again admired the collection of music video dioramas scattered around your apartment, Seonghwa had been the one to suggest sharing photos of the custom builds online. He was convincing and soon you decided to go for it. Immediately popular, the images made the rounds in both LEGO and K-pop circles. Seonghwa was tickled to discover he was credited as a consultant from the 'HALAZIA' model onward, and the next development had him over the moon.

Your latest one-of-a-kind project depicting the 'Bouncy' flaming saloon set got re-tweeted by the ATEEZ account after Yeosang mentioned in a YouTube live that he had seen the impressive photographs. Seonghwa proudly told everyone in sight at work the next day that he had been in charge of procuring all the lights and the little LEGO goat at minifigure Hongjoong's side.

Getting official recognition from KQ and the members themselves felt amazing, but the high was not to last. Seonghwa had some news about rising in his career, and as a dear friend you should have been happy for him.

Holding your hands as he sat across the dining room table at his place, Seonghwa explained the situation. “I'll still be working with LEGOs, but I'm leaving sales work.”

At first you were excited. “With all your building experience, are you going to be a LEGO Certified Professional like you've talked about? Been thinking about doing that myself. It seems like such a cool job getting the budget to dream up massive sculptures for events.”

Seonghwa did that habitual thing licking his lips again, a sign you had learned to recognize as anxiety. “Actually, I have been putting off telling you this, but the job is in LEGO's global headquarters in Denmark. I'm moving to Billund at the end of the month.”

While you tried to be stoic, you were sure he could tell the reaction was mixed as he shared more details of the promotion. This was no mere desk job Seonghwa had qualified for. To become a master builder for the company was an incredible honor and very competitive, but the cost of losing his presence was hard to take.

Wanting to do something special for your friend before he left, you booked Seonghwa a session at the glamour photography studio a few storefronts down from his shop. The few times you had picked him up after work he had often mused about getting one of the K-pop makeover sessions when walking past the studio. Although he played it off as a joke at the time, you had sensed there was a serious longing there.

When you presented him the certificate for the makeover and portrait package he hugged you the longest he ever had. Once pulled back, “Thank you,” was all he could manage, but there were tears of joy in Seonghwa's eyes that said everything.

True friend that he was, Seonghwa convinced you to share the experience because being silly together was far better than alone. So after a significant amount of coaxing on his part, and a promise of dinner out afterward, the two of you agreed anything goes and put your hair and eyebrows in the hands of the artists.

Grinning at each other through the mirrors at the styling stations, you watched Seonghwa transform. He always had been attractive, but in the hands of professionals he looked like a real idol. Gone were the Angry Bird eyebrows he had regularly joked about, now elegantly shaped. Seonghwa's natural hair color had become a white-blond, and between shading and other makeup effects he had become truly stunning.

While you would love to say your transformation had been as dramatic, Seonghwa seemed to be a perfect canvas in a way you did not, but that was okay. It was still a lot of fun, especially together. You were very glad not to have missed this opportunity. It was probably the last day seeing him in person before taking him to the airport within the week.

Hair and makeup got you halfway into character as idols for the day, but trying on various outfits for the photography session completed it. Shared laughter helped reduce your awkwardness when posing, but it was Seonghwa who really took to modeling. He had always seemed poised, but watching him go through a variety of stances and gestures gave you the feeling of watching a pro at work. It was not only you, the photographer herself commented on it in a way that felt genuine and not just part of the service. The resulting portraits alone and as a duo memorialized the fun day.

Far too soon after that Seonghwa was physically gone from your life with his relocation to Denmark. Thanks to technology you could still build together over video calls at least monthly. It took some trial and error but eventually you learned wearing a microphone helped your voices carry over the sound of rustling plastic bricks. As good as the time together was, you were sorely feeling the loss of fully being together in person. Not just his warm hugs, but there was something about Seonghwa's laughter and smiles that were not fully conveyed online.

On one chat you observed a new decoration in his home, hanging behind your friend as he talked. It was a large poster with a mostly familiar image. The six-member team of ATEEZ had surprisingly grown to eight. Seonghwa and another man had been edited into a shot on the 'HALAZIA' stadium set. The spacing was a little wonky after Seonghwa's new neighbor San had used photo editing skills to flip vibrantly red-haired Wooyoung onto the other side of the lineup leaving room to insert the two new fantasy members, but to Seonghwa it was a prized possession. The poster commemorated not just his dreams and time with you getting the K-pop makeover, but also a growing closeness with San who stood alongside him in the revised image.

Meeting San had been such a boon to Seonghwa. The hesitation originally felt over moving to a new country was eased significantly when he had the great fortune to encounter another fellow K-pop and LEGO enthusiast in his apartment building. Even if the Star Wars collection was not San's favorite, no man was perfect. You had listened eagerly to weeks of Seonghwa's developing crush on his neighbor. While some people might have felt replaced, you knew your friendship was as strong as ever, and if anything, it would be great to know yet another person who shared your passions. The way Seonghwa's face lit up every time he spoke of San left you genuinely happy for him.

When Seonghwa hesitated to ask him out, you finally recommended he have San over for dinner as thanks for easing the transition to the new city. Fortunately, San had a similar level of interest and was able to ask Seonghwa out over the course of the successful evening. You cheered as Seonghwa's giddy texts came in afterward, thanking you profusely for helping him along.

It had been over a year since he had left the mall store when Seonghwa suggested you use some of your vacation time to visit Denmark. It took little convincing before you accepted. You missed your best friend, and also there was the matter of wanting to meet the person who had won Seonghwa's heart. The plane ticket would be expensive, but at his partner San's urging the couple decided you had to stay with them while in the country. Going to the LEGOLAND theme park with the lovebirds was a day you would remember forever, but there was one thing even better.

You had thought the LEGO museum would be the trip highlight. Instead, it was getting a tour of the LEGO headquarters where Seonghwa worked. The whimsical environment changed your life. From that point on you changed your career path from LEGO Serious Play facilitator doing corporate training to any role that would lead to your own employment in Denmark. Excited by your plan, Seonghwa had some suggestions for departments best suited to your skills.

It took time, but being reunited with Seonghwa as his newest neighbor after your own move to Denmark was the best feeling ever. Commuting to LEGO headquarters together and working side by side was a dream come true. Things were just as perfect at home. Just as you were not threatened by San's romantic role in Seonghwa's life, kindhearted San was just as warmly understanding of your deep platonic love for his partner. The three of you three of you remained best friends forever, united by shared interests that had brought you and Seonghwa together in the first place.

I finished it!! (and immediately circled back to fill in the blanks like you "warned" me, lol.) Okay, I have mixed thoughts that will be better fleshed out when I reread Part III again~; and I'd love your opinions.

Diana trying her best but inadvertently muzzling Vincent-- ohhhhhhhhhhh, that scene. So heartbreaking. His guilt, his shame, his self-reproach climbing and climbing.

The three months, Laura, bless her heart, LENA (still I did not suspect at this point), Diana facing her fears, the in-betweens and courage.

My only... not gripe, that's too strong of a word. Puzzlement? Is that there seems to be moments in Part III that repeat bits and pieces of Part I and II. At first I discounted them as time fillers; but as I kept reading, the material didn't support that assumption at all. Those moments are important to fleshing out Diana, to working out the plot in the background, to deepening Vincent's dark pathway. I do need to thoroughly reread it (and I will, because I'm speed-rereading Part I, will II, then III to sort out my jumbled impressions.) I think, hm, it has the most happenings of all three parts, yet also the most time spent waiting for things to happen; or doubling back to "redo" something for a different outcome. That's not bad; but not what I'd expected.

Back to the praise~!

Diana's secret ability surprise and revocation was such a shock that I had to really, really let it digest. At first, I felt it encroached on Vincent's narrative importance, like Esau did on Jacob's (I'll get to him.) But she's different; and that difference was so subtly and magnificently built up (especially on a reread) that I am a very happy woman. My heart-- the way she says "goodbye" to every object to get Vincent to unlock her abilities and her enthusiasm at surprising him... my heart can only take so much. I adore that scene so much I stopped and reread it on a first go-through.

The Maze, the promise, the Chase, the Other-Buster, Jacob dropping in, Buster's dream, Diana healing his abandonment and becoming part of his flashback... surprisingly, the Maze was the most comforting section in all of Part III, the closest it got to the cozy ease of Part II. And I got to read the quote that got me into this story in the first place-- the sun tea, the lake, the beauty of that moment, will stick with me a long, long time.

I thought all their troubles (besides the bowers) were solved! ...And then Marco happened, and Vincent was out of reach. At this point, I was really frustrated, thb, because it didn't make sense why he'd decided what he did. But I love that Nan had a solidly good reason and am glad that my trust in her and patience hadn't faded. Good things come to those who wait~.

Buster and the recovery and Father and the Naming and turning it down last minute. Just... stupendous. That's also a bit of a comfort read; but it was a final nail in his decision to let go.

I have a question: on the Plains, was the Other not willing to fight or help because he'd already been "healed", and therefore was ready to, for lack of a better word, integrate? Or was the integration-- of which he and Vincent were unaware-- rubbing Vincent's apathy off on him without his knowledge? And, by taking Vincent's place and choosing to heal then reject the Naming, did Buster make an active choice to speed along the process, or start and end it? (See, I need to reread~. ;)))) No problem for me~.) I'm fascinated by his dynamic with Catherine on the Plains and how that contributed to his character arc-- cannot wait to hit that part in the reread.

The voices are singing-- what an genius, incredible idea, tying it back to Diana blasting music at him in her apartment. The irony of him not liking to sing while hearing everyone else "sing" daily. And I love that Father, for all his setbacks, still wants the best for his son. And the Below people wanting to help. And Diana recreating his childhood hiding place-- amazing.

My favorite scene is probably Diana reaching Vincent (after passing her pop) and coaxing him back to reality-- not by convincing or arguing, but simply reconnecting him to people he loves by talking about them. It's the little things.

Sensing death pass them over Above... what a beautiful scene.

And then Vincent realizes what the Other has done, and what those changes mean, and despairs. Nan giving him shoving those conflicted feelings with his natural loathing together was a delight to read. And Father helping Vincent recover at Diana's place, and the raid on her house (LENA), and Kristopher (ohhhhh, Kristopher... I was so sad when Diana put the pieces together), and her capture, and Vincent's cut off emotions, and those feelings bleeding into ruthless action because he's lost faith in himself, and Diana finding the unnamed "Esau" (which is the scene I finally accepted the baby as a character and didn't... resent? him, separating him as his own person from Jacob's importance... and he's adorable), and Cookie, and Vincent and her signing through the wall, and her rescuing baby Catherine, and LENA, and Bianca guiding her to safety while Vincent doesn't come... then Diana realizing how bad off Vincent is and finding him and doubly realizing that she is "at fault" for what happened to him, and the two of them reconnecting, and her doubling back to rescue "Esau", and him opening the floods, and "Esau" licking Diana's chin and being delighted she licked back (my heart Grinched three sizes, I swear.)

Another thing that confused me (which closer adherence will likely clear up): Vincent reconnecting and reopening to Diana but still following through with his plan, anticipating his death.

Lena's an interesting study: I'm delighted at how much she didn't get her way in the final act and that Marco finally did what he did; but I can also see it from her perspective (and how twisted it is.) She did everything for desperate attention but at the disservice of others while also not seeing what was wrong nor the consequences for her actions. Good riddance, honestly (but I could get it.)

Vincent coming into his own and fully in command after the water is over, and reluctantly letting some of the bowers join (and the bowers, even Bianca, still worshipping him), and Cookie getting stared down, and Lena almost winning (my rage at this moment was indescribable), and Father admitting his part in this disaster, and Jamie (amazing Jamie), and Joe's success with the DA, and Diana letting Vincent hang on her noncommittal answer about the green dress as they walk back to her apartment for a diaper for "Esau", and Winterfest approaching to bring the narrative all back together.

Thus far, I love Parts I and II more; but I KNOW that a more thorough reread will bring this right up into the ranks with them. Just some pieces I have to slot in. Also, if you wouldn't mind giving me a cheat code: when Lena... did what she did, why did Catherine's memory wash over Vincent/the Other at the same time? Catherine said on the Plains it was time for him to remember; but didn't that hurt Vincent, overall, more than help? Or was it a self-protective measure he did separate from Catherine? That dynamic still needs to be made clearer to me (ohhh, noooooooo, more reading. Whatever will I do??)

And yes, the epilogue roped me right back in-- it's what caused me to head to the beginning and start to fill in the cracks. (Sidenote: I'm typing up little notes on my reread... and Theseus takes on a whole different meaning once Lena's perspectives and ultimate plan-- well... the bowers' plan she cooperated with, anyway-- become slotted in. And because Vincent and Diana missed her true other meaning, it became a domino for the plot, their hangups, and their relationship. Fascinating on a reread.)

Tell me all about your love for this Part, what I'm missing, what is genius, what is beautiful, what is made new. I had a gloriously fantastic time-- haven't read something that engaging and intelligently layered and powerfully moving in quite a spell.

Thank you for bringing this series and Nan's work to my attention. She's a keeper and a treasure. (And I still have more of her work to read when I'm done digesting this one. Can't wait.)

Okay, I finished Part 3 tonight. I'm gonna try to address as much of your post as I can. First of all, no need for thank you. It was joy to introduce you to Nan's work. The pleasure is all mine.

Laura (episodes An Impossible Silence and Sticks and Stones in S1 & 2 and Legacies in S3) was a groundbreaking character for television in 1987 - 1990. Not a lot of storylines written for deaf actors back then. And Sticks and Stones had scenes where no dialogue was spoken, it was all ASL. And most of the guest actors were also deaf. Perlman learned (and accomplished beautifully) street ASL from Terrylene, the actor who played Laura. I could watch the conversation in Father's study between Vincent, Laura, and Father in An Impossible Silence on a loop, it is that good.

Anyway, back to AWTN. Sorry, got sidetracked. 😄

I love all the moments you mentioned, but I want to address the questions you had, and perhaps clear up some things, if your re-read hasn't done that yet.

You'll have to be more specific than that, if you can.

Well, Part II was the calm before the storm. But, yes, Inside Out is, to repeat the phrase, a masterpiece. But that's the thing that makes this fic so good, it's filled with masterpieces. Even a single sentence can make you want to roll up into a ball and squeal.

You have to keep in mind that Vincent is the dominant personality of the two. So it's what he does that affects what Buster does, not the other (no pun intended) way around. Buster had nothing to do with the integration - he had no choice in it. But neither did Vincent. What Diana did by rescuing Buster in his dream (which is where the split began, and which was also Vincent's dream, even if he's not consciously aware of it at the time) began to heal the split that he'd created so many years before. Neither of the dual natures within him had a choice. The integration was like the sea rushing in and filling all the nooks and crannies. It was unstoppable, a force of nature.😉

Oh, but it's not just that one instance. Can't remember which part it was in, but remember Diana realizing that Vincent was taking all those discordant voices he heard through his empathy and tuning them, making music of them, becoming their conductor? And that's why he loved orchestral music? I love that idea.

"And then Vincent realizes what the Other has done, and what those changes mean, and despairs."

Again, Buster hasn't really done anything. He was perfectly content to bow out and go back to his plain and Catherine. He's just the convenient fall-guy.

Nan had decided to call him Charles, after Catherine's father, or for Charles, The Hideous Dragon Man (ep Brothers). I think it's a fine name for him. Read Nan's poem, For Charles on her page.

Vincent had made himself pretty clear to the bowers: give up the child by his deadline or die. And he was more than willing to die along with Esau, rather than let the bowers have him. In the end Vincent wanted him, but not at the cost of being something he couldn't be. You have to keep in mind the amount of trauma he's sustained over the years, and how ingrained it was and how deeply it went. In his mind he couldn't be, anymore, who Father wanted him to be, or the tunnel community, or Catherine, or Devin, or Mouse and Jamie, or anyone else. He was too deep in his own despair to realize that, despite Diana's repugnance at sharing in his killing, she loved him however he came. And so did his family. He was thinking only of the pain he'd caused by being who and what he was, and not considering the joy he'd brought to others simply by being who and what he was. He couldn't see the forest for the trees.

I figure his thinking, after unleashing the water, was, "Okay, I didn't die. Guess I should find out what's going on." Because that's what makes Vincent Vincent: he doesn't know how to quit, how not to serve others as long as he's at least semi-upright and breathing.

Marco = Angelo. But I knew what you meant. 😉 Yeah, I wasn't sad to see Lena go either. Groupie.

Catherine gave him that memory as a comfort, so at least one thing about the cage and the cave wasn't so horrific. But the memory itself was by way of Buster, who already had it because he was the one in that cave with Catherine when they begat Jacob, not Vincent (see the second season-ending trilogy). Buster held that memory, and Catherine gifted Vincent with it. I don't think it hurt him at all, I think it helped. It gave him the proof he needed that he could love her the way he'd always wanted to but never thought was possible for him. It was, in a way, the ultimate confirmation of his humanity.

I should probably tell you that Nan had AWTN 4 outlined and was beginning to write it. But why it was never completed is partially my fault. I sent her two 4th season fics I'd written and had tucked away and she decided to do another edition of Phoenix (the 4th season anthology zine she edited and contributed to) so she could publish them, and set Part 4 aside. And then she got caught up in the Buffyverse and started writing fanfic for that. Sadly, she died in 2006 and never finished the AWTN saga. But I have a pretty good idea where she was headed. She planted lots of seeds for the next edition.

Amara: (by my very wrong guess) What an odd person...

Noita: He has quite beautiful hair.

When is the Anniversary: There is no set date for wedding since that hasn’t come about with them. But it might as well be their shared birthday of December 13th. They recreate romantic moments on that day.

Who Looks Forward to Celebration: Hear me out, Amara was the one into it before hand. Like I can’t think of all the celebrations they’d be into but birthday is consistent because it’s so important for them. Amara never had a birthday--he remembers at least. When Noita offered their birthday, it was more so that it was something better than the actual day. But of course Amara is like ‘the world gave my songbird on this day, of course I wanna celebrate.’ And it got a ‘wait, no.’ He had to be excited about it first and then Noita didn’t want to make the birthday suck because it is now his day and he’s just so happy about it. So now they’re both into the celebration but it was definitely started by Amara.

Favorite Celebration: I will give you one guess. Although the Halloween-like holidays are second.

Pet Names:

Amara -> Noita: Songbird is pretty much it. It’s usually a serious moment if he straight up calls them Noita.

Noita -> Amara: Love (yes they are that bad at names) although I find more commonly it’s some form of ‘you __ bird’ (silly or foolish being most common). Them calling Amara by his name isn’t unusual on the other hand.

Matching Outfits: You’d think they wouldn’t care but honestly I think Noita has too much pride to do matching outfits. They would see it as lame and say no.

Unnatural Hair: I mean, by technical standards, they both have unnatural hair. But let’s be real, Amara’s hair is pretty unusual/stand out. It also may or may not be magical.

Physical Affection: I think Amara would die if doesn’t get physical affection from Noita every other day. I am being hyperbolic but he does love the cuddling, hand holding (the salacious bastard), and the like with Noita. While it isn’t Noita’s love language, I do think it’s super sweet and important that they let Amara be touchy. Like with anyone they aren’t close with, they literally bristle. It takes time to be where it’s they bristle instinctually but let go soon after. But because of how Amara’s warmth is rolled into his touch, Noita at this point doesn’t even react anymore because they know it’s him and know he’s safe.

Early Riser: Amara, hands down. He rises with the sun literally. So while he likes to just chill, see sunrise and all that, Noita’s asleep. Probably from staying up too late again. It leaves time for him to get a headstart on breakfast (why is he just so good??)

Their Song: I don’t know if they have a precise song. They do have a playlist. But I think a newer song from when that was made is ‘Come Home With Me’ from H.adestown.

Motif: Sun and Moon, baby.

Prefers Actions Over Words: Both depending the situation. Amara tends to physically show his love to Noita very clearly and very abundantly. Noita also shows affection physically but in little ways and usually privately.

Who’s In Front of the Camera/Works Behind the Scenes: Actually...I don’t see either as being in front of a camera. So behind the scenes it is.

What is Their Wallpaper: Amara is not that good with technology but I do think he could figure out the camera and probably has the wallpaper of the two of them. Noita would not have anything particular for their wallpaper. Mainly because they do not want to have any conversation point with their comrades.

What is Their Flower: Amara’s favorite flowers are blue lotuses. Noita’s are red spider lilies.

What is Their Scent: I imagine that Amara has more of an earthy scent like amber and sometimes the faintness of sunflowers. Noita doesn’t have a strong scent but what is prominent at any time is the scent of rosemary.

Where Would They Travel for a Week: There is no particular place that they would choose since they already travel quite extensively. However there was a fondness for Greece, especially on the islands.

What Makes The Other Comfortable to Them:

Amara -> Noita: Their quiet protectiveness like a hand to pull you back from danger. The tranquility that surrounds their presence.

Noita -> Amara: The ability to love so unabashedly and peaceable, no matter how difficult it is. The lack of judgement that cares not what they are.

Heyo. For the Memorable fanfic scenes, the ones that come to mind would be Second Braid where the townsfolk start to attack CU with one throwing a brick at him. It was such a change in mood and how horrifying the people turned on our favorite hero. That was good. Oh, and the play scene in the Heart Made of Pine story with George and Harold's friends putting on a show for the orphans and Edith. That was super cute.

For that one question.... which I guess is a meme.

‘Second Braid’ (The Tangled Au that we made together, as found on Archive of our Own and Fan fiction dot net.)

I’m sure NONE of my readers were expecting this moment. I knew I would be getting into some deep, dark territory with that.

So there is a bit of how reality might play out when it comes to CU as a character. There’s bound to be people who would NOT be happy to the accidental destruction he causes in fights. Sadly we as humans are prone to lashing out at things we don’t fully understand or its going to be in our nature to just lash out period. So the question was ‘what if people were angry enough at CU to try to physically harm him?’

As much as I wanted to explore that scenario… it is heartbreaking to imagine. He wouldn’t MEAN to cause that kind of destruction, but as a child’s creation who sees things as if the world is one big comic book, it probably limits his understanding. God forbid what would happen if we had set this AU in our modern day Piqua.

It was also important to establish a crucial plot point long before it would be mentioned–while there’s people who would hate Krupp, there’s also people who would hate CU. There’s very few people who equally love both sides to this person regardless of if they knew the truth or not. It was going to be obvious with Krupp, but it REALLY needed to be clear with CU…. And yes, it was really harsh. Even mores when the best CU stories require us to see him as his own person capable of feelings, choices, and desires.

And one of the scariest things about that scene was the fact that the boys almost got hurt as well by these same people. But it was also a chance to show that CU WOULD take those blows for them if they were to be at risk too, because that is in his nature to do anything possible to protect them.

‘A Heart made of Pine’ (as found on Archive of our Own’)

In contrast to heartbreak, we go into heartwarming.

I remember that was one of the very first ideas I had when it came to that AU (since those drawings came out first back in January or February…. Uh… 2019 or 2020). That was partly inspired by the ‘Little Wooden Head’ song in Pinocchio and I could see the boys recreating their stories with a CU puppet if they ever had their hands on one (as we could see in those segments in The Epic tales of Captain Underpants).

I liked having the boys show off both their creativity and their kindness. In fact it was one of the first scenes I was looking forward to writing due to the charm and innocence about it. There’s something pure about writing a scene with children where they are having fun and just being themselves. And to just get swept up into the fun of imagination and story telling. (And in real life there is something so wondrous and pure about being able to capture a child’s attention when you tell them a story.) There was something sweet about the kids and even Edith regarding the puppet as a real person and to thus be able to escape into a better world, even if it was just for one moment.

And given the time period this fic is set in, that personal, interactive kind of entertainment has an additional importance. In the bleakest of times, those moments of light will always shine the brightest.

I also had Edith included because there’s such an odd charm about meeting the person who is about to become your love interest as a work of fiction/a creation before they are made into a real being that will directly interact with you. A cute way to set up the irony before it would all finally pay off as story wise, I wanted to have something sweet and innocent that could play into how that relationship would develop. However there’s also tying into who she is as a character since I’ve always seen her as someone who gets along with kids, so she would likely enjoy being a part of make believe. (Also I recall a reader comparing her involvement to that one scene in Robin Hood where Marion is playing pretend with the kids, so I think that might have served as some inspiration too.)

Hi! I'm so sorry I haven't replied. It's been such a a long and stressful week for me and I just didn't have time. How are you? I hope you're well and doing good! :)

Okay that makes sense..my sleep schedule can be so off and probably not normal to other people haha. Some days I am up all day and don't sleep at all or just a few hours but sometimes I sleep a lot and it makes me more tired the more sleep I get too. Idk if that makes sense but it's so true and just depends on the day I guess. Like it's easier for me to stay up if I have to get up early haha.

Hopefully I can have time to watch eras this weekend and I totally get that since you're going to another show. However she is on a break right now and it will be nice to enjoy before a new album comes out since it celebrates her career. I'm also hoping to watch Poor Things too since Emma Stone is my other favorite and she won the Oscar for her performance! Oh what did you think of the Mean Girls movie? I can barely remember it now but it was okay to good and I see a lot of gifs of it on here so I think a lot of people generally liked it. It always makes me somewhat happy when people appreciate movie musicals even if the Broadway version is still better.

The vinyls were put back on her store and idk which one to get. I really liked the Albatross cover but it's also white like the original and I'm thinking the black dog since that one was totally different and black and it's a song I am more excited for. Plus my sister likes black and I will probably get the original one maybe a cd later. Did you see the explicit tracks for this album? Did it change your opinion on any of the songs? I am curious about it but we also don't know if it's just her saying shit lol. Midnights also had a lot of explicit songs too, like six but only I think two said fuck so idk. But still..they were not the ones I would have guessed or thought of, like the title track or loml or I Can Do it with a broken heart or Florida. But Daddy I love him makes sense though, cuz it just feels so Lana to me, or maybe that will be Fresh out of the Slammer. Also what do you think about the whole but Daddy I love him quote from the little mermaid as inspiration? I think it's a stretch and probably had nothing to do with the song but idk! I do kinda agree with the Florida or I Can Do it with a Broken Heart predictions though I guess. We will find out very soon! Where are you going out of town? I've read that people usually like to go hiking or out of town to listen to new albums but I just listen with my sister around midnight. Do you have anything fun planned?

Invisible has always been one of my favorites too. I get that about question and my sister explained how it's supposed to be but I will never go out of my way to hear it lol. It reminds me a little bit of Body Better too maybe along with Outdoor Pool. I totally see that about normal people though. I thought I heard that Sally Rooney announced a new book too. I think what bothers me about it is that it just feels like a 1989 vault track or something and some of them were even better than it lol. Although when we ranked Midnights the first day, I somehow put it in the middle and not last so it shows how first impressions can be waywrong. Omg I can't believe I got them all right but you had pretty general least favorites. I can't believe Dorothea is your Ieast favorite though, especially if you like country Taylor. wanna know what your most controversial least favorite is haha, like how I said I don't like Babe or the Moment I knew and Illicit Affairs.

I really liked Ariana's album actually. At first, I wasn't that impressed but it grew on me and now I really love it. We can't be friends was also my favorite and stood out on my first listen! My other absolute favorite is Imperfect for you. I loved the music video too which recreated scenes from the eternal Sunshine movie. Have you watched it? It's one of my favorites. But she also called the album a concept album and I didn't see much more of the eternal Sunshine theme in the album either. I also agree with her lyrics and saying stuff, but it might be exaggerated and boy is mine is a bop lol. It does make me curious about Taylors album and if it will be a similar chill pop vibe or something different. Also the fact that they both broke up with long term relationships but have already found someone new which I think is an interesting parallel. I didn't care for Bleachers album either when I first heard it but it also grew on me. Call me after midnight was also one of my favs too. I also finally listened to Renee Rapp, Chappell Roan, and the new Kacey Musgraves album. I think that will have to grow on me too, but I will be listening to Beyonces albums this week waiting for her album. March has not been that great haha but I think the stress of the last few months is mostly over now. I don't have any plans for the rest of the month. What about you? have you seen poor things yet? i've heard really good things but i do not think it is a movie for me! still curious to know what you think of it though. i didn't love the mean girls musical movie — i think most of my initial thoughts/criticisms carried through. i'm still surprised that bebe wood (gretchen) wasn't cady; her voice is beautiful. i know that mean girls the musical is just ... mean girls the musical and not some great work of literature but taking away it roars really messed up a lot of things, i think? just like what separates cady from every other girl is ... not there. the jungle motif is cut down. i really missed the more is better scene — they could've had a conversation instead of singing (again, why would you cast people who can't sing in a musical!!!!!!) but i think that the more is better scene is really important for cady's growth and development as a character/it's a wake up call and a turning page and not having it made it feel very weak. anddddd i think that aaron/cady needed more ... chemistry? more moments? idk. i missed the mathletes song! i probably won't ever watch it again. i recently rewatched the les mis movie and it's really interesting to see how much my opinions of it have changed over the years. i definitely enjoyed it a lot more this time around, although i still have opinions that haven't changed (russell crowe is terrible) so i wonder if i'll still be a # hater of the mean girls musical movie ten years from now or if that'll change.

ok first and foremost i really truly believe to the pits of my soul that every single one of these fuckos loves romances and you cannot under any circumstances change my mind

ALSO it’s a gender neutral reader except kinda in echo’s theres like a very brief quote regarding breasts but like i still think even that is pretty gender neutral tbh

Hunter: Pretty Woman

this is not the first time that i have publicly declared that i think hunter has a deep rooted connection to the movie pretty woman and it will not be the last

first of all this movie is incredibly soothing to hunters overwhelming savior complex

second of all hunter is literally richard gere (debonaire but emotionally distant gentleman that learns to love) and julia roberts (hooker with a heart of gold) at the same time

he was a little skeptical the first time you put it on but he instantly fell in love with it

the humor, the sensuality, the class divide, the glamour, the unconventional cinderella story of it all. it just really butters his bread

after the first time, when you suggest watching a movie and you pick this one he’ll act very aloof about it (“whatever you want cyar’ika, it doesn’t matter to me”) but secretly he’s really really happy bc it’s one of his favorites (you def know this and def pick it more often)

he absolutely hates the scene when stucky the lawyer hits vivian. like it doesn’t matter how many times he watches it he will fully turn his head away from the screen and say “I don’t like this part” and when it’s over he nuzzles a little closer into you and very tenderly kisses your forehead

he loves the soundtrack too. like he fully exposes how much he likes the movie when you catch him singing or humming “pretty woman” or “it must have been love” absently to himself (you kept it to yourself for a while but eventually you just had to tease him about it. he just smiled a little sheepishly and admitted he liked the songs before promptly changing the subject)

hunter also lowkey definitely wants to recreate the ending where richard gere shows up to her apartment in the white limo with you bc he thinks it’s such a sweet gesture and he wants to treat you like royalty

Crosshair: 10 Things I Hate About You

if there’s one thing about crosshair it’s that he’s a sucker for the enemies to lovers genre

maybe its just him projecting (spoiler alert it most certainly is) but he really enjoys watching the drama conflama of a miserable bastard be tricked into love

and really that’s the true essence of 10 Things I Hate About You

he will grumble and bitch and moan about not wanting to watch a ‘chick flick’ when you put it on, but 15 minutes in and he’s hooked

he has strong negative opinions on literally every single character except for kat and patrick

(crosshair really really wants to think he’s patrick but when it comes down to it he is katarina stratford in every single possible way)

he doesn’t say a word throughout the entire movie but you can tell when he’s annoyed at like bianca or cameron or joey bc he will openly scoff at them

will absolutely hum along in your ear during the “can’t take my eyes off you” scene and make out with you during the paintball scene

(seriously he wants to be patrick verona so bad)

when it’s over and you ask him what he thought he’ll roll his eyes and say “i guess it could have been worse” but his little smirk let’s you know he enjoyed it a lot more than he’s willing to admit

Tech: 50 Shades of Grey

ok hear me out on this one

tech is a huge movie talker. like subtitles are a non-negotiable if you wanna be able to take in any of the movies dialogue bc tech is most likely gonna make commentary over it the whole time

this makes him absolutely indescribably so much fun to watch bad/corny movies with

he will go off about EVERYTHING. the plot, the dialogue, the acting, the costuming, the music, the production quality. nothing and no one is safe. whether you just enjoy letting him talk at you or you join in on the roast, cheesy movies are a hoot between you two

and honey. 50 shades is one of THE cheesiest movies ever

you and tech will literally spend the entire duration of the movie tearing it to shreds

and the thing is tech is a very sarcastic, funny guy when he wants to be (and when it comes to you he definitely wants to be) so by the end of it he will have you in absolute stitches from laughing at the ridiculousness of both the movie and him

with any of the other batchers watching a movie like this either turns into a shy, slightly awkward experience (wrecker, echo) or an incorrigibly horny experience (crosshair, hunter)

but in this context tech literally has no shame or squeamishness about sexual things (why should he it’s a natural biological process?) so to yall the sex stuff is just another thing to roast

literally christian grey could be fully tying dakota johnson down and flogging her and tech will be like “in the last 3 minutes they have panned up to her nipples 4 times. this is criminally shoddy cinematography”

even tho he’s busy giving a detailed play by play critique, he never fails to keep some sort of physical contact with you (wrapping an arm around you and running his hand up and down your skin, playing with your fingers or your hair) so you know he’s enjoying spending this time with you despite his nasty words about the movie

also 1000% after you watch it tech will do extensive research on the ins and outs of bdsm and will have lots of hypotheses he wants to test out (as long as you’re willing and able ofc) ;)))

Wrecker: 13 Going On 30

of all the bad batch members, wrecker is the only one who unabashedly loves any movie that could be considered a chick flick

like he doesn’t even try to hide it or act like he’s too masculine for it. he loves romance and he’s proud of it

this man will have full marathons with you. rom coms, regular roms, tragic roms, hallmark roms, you name it and he’s game

his absolute favorite tho is 13 Going On 30

i feel like he has a huge soft spot for childhood best friends to lovers stories like he finds that type of lifelong partnership so endearing (and he loves to live vicariously through jenna since that type of romance was obviously never an option for him)

wrecker is also very childlike at heart and i think the idea of a 13 year old sweetheart trapped inside the body of a 30 year old cut throat magazine exec is so amusing to him (and maybe makes him feel just a little bit represented in the media)

he is definitely the type to completely engulf you in a cuddle for the entirety of the movie and he DEFINITELY cries into your shoulder at matty’s wedding when jenna is crying on the stoop with her dream house

he wants to try razzles so bad. like so bad. i think if he ever came across them somewhere he would barter at least one of his brothers for them

wrecker really just loves love and watching movies about it just reminds him of how lucky he is to have his own love story with you <3

Echo: The Princess Bride

i feel like it’s glaringly obvious why echo loves this movie

pirates. sword fighting. decades long revenge plots. the value of an honorable, loyal man. true love that never wavers even in the face of devastating tragedy and the darkest of hardships. clever but goofy humor.

echo considers this an action/adventure movie and NOT a romance movie (even tho it 100% totally is a romance movie) and requests to watch it very frequently

he can quote the whole thing. i’m seriously telling you echo loves the princess bride with his whole chest

even tho he refuses to admit it’s a love story above all else, he really does try to model himself in your relationship after wesley

like especially given what happened at the citadel and all the time you thought he was dead, the cinematic parellels are alive and present in y’alls relationship and he strives to be even half the man to you that wesley is to buttercup

literally in your day to day life he will sometimes respond to your requests with a smooth “as you wish ;)” (it doesn’t matter how many times he does it it still gives you butterflies)

when you watch the movie, he snuggles as close to you as possible and does his best to make youre comfy the whole time (he’s insecure about his prosthetics hurting you no matter how much you reassure him they don’t)

he just loves to be able to feel your heartbeat and your laugh when you giggle at the funny bits

every single time without fail at the part when buttercup is about to stab herself he leans down, ghosts his lips against the shell of your ear, and whispers the line in time with wesley: “there’s a shortage of perfect breasts in this world. it would be a pity to damage yours”

every single time without fail you wind up making out until he pulls away and tells you to watch the next part when wesley challenges humperdinck to a duel to the pain

echo just loves you to bits and wants you to know he’d endure a thousand fire swamps for you

Omega: Clueless

i have this really specific obsession with omega being a total girly girl and having very traditionally feminine interests as she keeps experiencing the universe and being exposed to a spectrum of gender expression beyond clone (masc and boring) and kaminoan (ugly)

so with that headcanon of her in mind, it’s vital to me that she sees clueless as soon as possible

clueless is an essential piece of media for a girl entering adolescence and i will die on this hill

it has literally everything you want and everything you need to develop into a well-rounded young woman

it’s so deliciously 90s and glamorama and valley girl humor and camp. its got meaningful female friendships and valuable life lessons and paul mf rudd

if there’s one thing you should encourage a burgeoning hetero teen girl to do, it’s to stick to dating guys like paul rudd in clueless. the earlier this message can be broadcast the better

the second you’re able to steal omega away from hunters watchful eyes (“hunter we’re just gonna watch finding nemo i swear!”) you show her this movie

at this point omega is not really a girly girl, but omega also has absolutely zero feminine influence in her life

the first time she sees clueless she is absolutely obsessed. like seriously she is so enamoured with the glitz and glam of cher horowitz

she asks you questions the entire time. she wants to know about EVERYTHING. the makeup, the clothes, the hair, the slang

(she definitely goes around saying stuff like “i’m totally bugging” for long enough afterwards that almost all of the boys have slipped up at least once with some ridiculous valley girl slang. you thought you were gonna die of laughter when you overheard tech say “as if!” to wrecker in the middle of an argument)

it just really introduces her to this whole world of femininity that she didn’t even know existed and she absolutely loves it

she makes you watch clueless with her seriously once a week at minimum. she begs you to style her hair like tai’s and you can’t help yourself when you happen to run across a little yellow plaid dress and buy it for her on sight

(hunter was gonna scold you for recklessly spending credits until he saw how omega almost cried from how happy she was for the gift)

honestly she enjoys the romance of it all and paul rudd is def her first celebrity crush but she enjoys more that you and her now have this special thing of hair and nails and pretty dresses

she loves how confident and beautiful and special you’re able to make her feel, and you love that you get to bring her that small sense of normalcy and happiness

an in depth analysis of why every character was written horribly, even without the dumb reset

Steve

I mean this one’s obvious. We had someone with such great character development in Trollhunters, 3Below, and Wizards. Personally think that Steve was fine in Wizards (I like his knight subplot) and I thought they were setting up Steve recreating knights of the roundtable, but guess not lol.

He didn’t even get to fight. He had a strong start in the movie and his concern for Jim really shows his growth from being his bully, but then he got immediately turned into a punchline.

Eli

All of Eli’s involvement with the plot happened offscreen. It’s great that he created the gun robot, but that’s it. Then he got turned into a midwife for Steve.

Krel

Also a lot of the involvement happened offscreen. He remade the amulet which was cool, but it should’ve held more weight. The amulet should’ve been introduced way later into the movie.

And okay as much as I love Stuart why did he need to fix the Amulet KREL WAS RIGHT THERE WHY WAS STUART RELEVANT

I know Stuart is good with electronics and he even made Seklos’ canon back in 3below but this is such an annihilation of Krel’s genius.

Plus the whole “It needs to have Merlin’s magic” thing was bs HELLO DOUXIE WAS RIGHT THERE THE ORIGINAL AMULET WAS ALSO MADE WITH HIS MAGIC

Aja

I’m glad she’s come into the role of queen, but by god she was so cold to Jim for no reason. She knows what it’s like to be powerless. She lost her parents to a coup and couldn’t do anything!!!! SHE AND JIM HAD THE MOST UNDERSTANDING IN 3BELOW.

Also evacuating the earth goes so much against who she was in 3below. She ADORED the Earth. Loved everything about it, not just the people.

And by god the kissing Akiridion lore is so dumb and so obviously thrown in there with no thought on how it would’ve affected 3Below. The kissing tree is ruined and her relationship with Steve is ruined.

Claire

bruh what do you mean her magic is spent this was not a problem in Wizards. She barely does any shadow magic and then it is spent. How many times are you gonna nerf her like that

I’ve always said Jlaire is what Hiccstrid should’ve been and in the end they become what I dislike about Hiccstrid. Claire was a prize for Jim and was reduced to Girlfriend who Fights. She didn’t have any meaningful or fun interactions with any other character. Really nobody did

Douxie

the narrative just gives him one big trauma conga line without addressing any of it. Douxie was tortured by the order and absolutely no one wants to check he’s alright????? Just immediately start questioning him??

Archie was his companion for CENTURIES and all he says is “I hope he’s happy?????” honestly this was just httyd3 for them but without any of the emotion

Nari died and Douxie should’ve fucking snapped by that point. He should’ve gone avatar mode again when Nari got stabbed and help Nari kill Skrael on the spot. And then Nari would die. He should’ve been on his knees sobbing hearing Nari say “no more running” one last time. It would’ve been a great parallel to Wizards.

And then he also was nerfed with his powers but with no explanation. The body swap spell was great. Power move. Everything else was no. Not to mention his magic was so inconsistent like hello that’s not what tenebris excellium does

He took on the order alone in wizards with a tenebris excellium but then bellroc overpowers him and flicks him away like w h at.

Toby

If Toby was going to die and have his friendship with Jim be prioritized at all, then for the love of god stop reducing him to a punchline. I mean the series has this issue as well, but he’s supposed to be important here. There are barely any meaningful moments with Jim outside of his death scene and moments from the series.

Charlemagne

Literally used as a plot device. Guy who knows a guy. I mean, that’s kind of what he was used for in Wizards as well, but his character moments with Douxie was why he was important. Honestly no reason for him to be in this movie.

Archie

Archie CHOSE TO BE A FAMILIAR AND DEFY CHARLIE’S WISHES TO BE WITH DOUXIE AND THEN HE SAYS NO THANKS I’LL JUST BE WITH MY DAD FOREVER????????

Strickler + Nomura

Literally brought into this movie just to be a casualty. I will admit I like the small interaction between Douxie and Nomura but he barely knows her so there’s no reaction to it. Their deaths were so goddamn stupid how would a bomb defeat a magical being and why would you send a changeling to brazil.

Jim

Jim. Oh buddy Jim. For a character with pretty much the only tangible arc in this movie, they sure botched that up. I was ready for the arc to be about him being weak, but I figured it would be due to turning human, not losing the amulet. We’ve been through the fact that without the amulet he’s still the trollhunter. But now he’s back to being powerless. That’s what his arc should’ve been about being powerless, not the amulet.

I’m not a fan of making him the center of the movie when he’s had way more screentime than anyone else. and to learn a lesson HE ALREADY LEARNED. I wouldn’t have minded as much if his arc was handled any good.

I hate to say this about one of my favorite emotional characters, but Jim kept angsting way too much throwing pity party after pity party for himself. Like we get it dude. Outside of that he was so emotionless as a leader. There was no charm to him at all. He honestly could’ve given less of a crap about anyone else besides the og gang. He honestly reminds me a little of rtte!hiccup and how hiccup treated his friends terribly from time to time rip

Douxie getting tortured?? After he fought tooth and nail for him when Jim was hurt in wizards??? Immediately starts pestering him for answers. Where is his kindness? His selflessness? The trademark Jim sacrifice??? BECAUSE GOING BACK SURELY WASN’T A SACRIFICE

Moving you into Katsuki’s apartment across town took mere minutes, but everyday you spent there felt like years that you’d never get back. Everything felt too big and nostalgic, and the only thing grounding you to keep you from a panic attack, was Ryu being himself despite being pulled from school and transitioning to home school. He was just happy to be around his father all the time, immediately bombarding him with questions about his day the moment that he stepped through the door.

It wasn’t news that Katsuki wasn’t fond of comforting people, and the thought of him begging for forgiveness was laughable — but that brick wall you put up the moment you stepped through his threshold for the second time was driving him insane. When he was around, you were somewhere else in the house on the phone, or on the laptop you purchased and had shipped to his home as soon as possible. On the rare occasion he did see you for more than a few seconds, you looked drained of life. . and scared.

You were tough even when you two were young — the constant picking at you being quirkless might have made you think he thought otherwise, and he wondered if that contributed to your hardened shell now — but there was the rare occasion when something would break through your tough skin.

And it was always your father that did it.

Katsuki practiced his jabs that he tried out in training with Kirishima on the air, trying to make sure every moment was precise to recreate the amount of damage he dealt everytime. You had tagged along after phoning him and asking what he was doing, receiving the usual ‘I’m training and don’t give a shit if you come or not’ that you always took as a very hostile ‘yes’.

Usually, you’d make small noises of approval as he trained, and after yelling about you messing up his concentration but only getting a tongue stuck out at him in response, he had grown use to your annoying presence. Which is why he stole glances at you today when you were completely silent, and he found himself curious about why you didn’t even look at him as he trained. Bakugou was more aware of your every moment than you’d ever know, and he wanted it to stay that way, so he continued to only steal glances instead of confronting you.

“My dad didn’t tell me happy birthday.” There it was. The moment you’d break the silence and spill your guts to him with no coaxing needed from him.

That’s what drove him crazy about you; how you adapted to his pride and made being there for you so easy.

“He had Jun give me my necklace and money when I woke up, and I asked her if he made any plans to see me today. . She said he’s a busy man and I need to grow up. . Am I asking for too much?”

You looked up at him with every ounce of insecurity on full display, the kind of look he hated seeing on your face more than he hated seeing you in those stupid get-ups your mom bought you. Even he had said happy birthday to you, granted it was though text and there was no gift with it, but at least he had the decency to listen when you said that all you wanted was to hear two simple words from the people you cared about. It pissed Katsuki off even more that he knew you told your dad that’s all you wanted, and it didn’t take a genius to know that he didn’t do it on purpose. Now Katsuki had to be the one to pick up your broken pieces.

“Idiot, it’s not your fault that your old man is trash.” He grunted, turning away from you to stare at nothing so he didn’t have to see that stupid sparkle in your eyes when he said something nice.

That damn sparkle made his heart squeeze.

He was relieved to hear your soft laughter, “I guess you’re right. He’s better at bribing people than caring for them.”

If only he could tell you how true those words were.

“Shit.” Katsuki mumbled under his breathe, the realization of what was happening hitting him like a brick.

That day he went to your office, he hadn’t been there just to get a look at what you had accomplished, and the reason he got so riled up by your secretary was more than just being told he couldn’t see you. He had gotten a tip from Tokoyami that morning about a yakuza organization that was deeply involved in many missing people cases, and also suspects for the assasination of small business companies that were expected to outgrow large corporations.

That organization had your picture on the wall, along with pictures of those who were missing, and ones who had not gone missing but were on police watch due to the likelihood of them being taken next. Katsuki chalked it up to you being seen with him when he was a target for many villains due to his success in taking down and capturing villains with ease, and he let the most obvious point go over his head. He had just immediately wen to go see you to calm his nerves, not even second guessing his own answer that tied this back to the one man he had his own hit on.

The organization that had you targeted, acted under powerful businessmen in Japan. .

Your father was one of those powerful businessmen.

‘It all comes full fucking circle,’ Katsuki thought angrily as he picked up his office phone, knowing that he had to get his least favorite heroes on the case.

“I’m not asking you to take sides, I’m asking you to tell me the truth!” You hissed into the phone, and you could feel every ounce of your patience draining from your body and your tone.

It had been three days. Three days since you moved in with the father of your child, three days of feeling anxious and livid, and three days of trying to get in contact with your mother. For once, you could say that the least of your worries was Katsuki, and now it happened to be the life of your child again. You weren’t stupid — the moment Katsuki mentioned your safety specifically being threatened you knew who had put the hit out on you, and he wanted you to know.

It was your father’s way of warning you that if you even thought of exposing that you were his daughter that ‘went missing’,or tell them what he had done, you and Ryu will never know peace again. The knowledge that you were in his sights again and he still was just as ruthless as ever couldn’t even fully register in your brain, but you knew you had to do something. This was your baby’s life that was in danger again, and this time he isn’t living inside of you so you could have him with you at all times. You didn’t even know how to have this conversation with Katsuki when he didn’t even have the decency to tell you there was someone after your son while he sat in school. In fact, you were doing your best to avoid his presence so you didn’t cause a scene and scare Ryu half to death.

And your mother had the fucking ability to help you, and she decided this was the time to wave the white flag to involving herself in you and your father’s war.

“This isn’t something that I can tell you and your father not disown me too for, Y/N! Do you really expect me to risk my life too?” Your mother responded, and your grip on the phone tightened so much that you weren’t sure how much longer you’d have before it shattered.

“Yes! I expect you to risk your life for me, mom! I expect you to be a mother for just one damn moment in your life to save your grandson! If you can’t tell me what he knows and what you’ve told him, this will not only get ugly for him, but for you too!” You threatened with full intention of making it a reality.

You paced the floor with a hand over your mouth to keep from screaming with Ryu napping in the other room, but this situation could only be fully resolved with risks being taken. The company you put blood sweat and tears into — you had long since realized you never wanted to start an entire company, but it was the best thing you knew how to do to make money to give your son the life he deserved — was going to have to be put in jeopardy. Your life, and more importantly your son’s life, would be in immediate danger once you decide to wage this war.

You whirled around to the door of the guest bedroom you were in to see not only Katsuki, but Eiji also standing there. It didn’t shock you in the slightest how pissed Katsuki looked, but Kirishima’s deathly stare had you frozen in place. Even though you knew in the back of your mind that their anger was towards your father, you couldn’t help but feel weak when two very famous pro heroes had their murderous gazes on full display for you.

“You don’t have to worry,” Kirishima said and flashed you a hardened arm. “No one is going to touch you or Ryu on my watch.”

Katsuki grunted, “I’ll kill anyone that tries.”

[KINGDOM: LEGENDARY WAR] episode five

“okay, let’s go!” hongjoong hyped them up when they were announced as the next group to perform

taking a deep breath in and letting it out, she felt a lot of pressure for this performance since they all loved and respected iKON ever since they were trainees

now to be able to meet and even perform one of their songs in front of them?

When it was first announced to them that iKON would be one of the groups participating in Kingdom, all eight of their eyes sparkled with excitement at the thought of meeting one of their favorite idol groups.

She learned that San had actually went to iKON’s concert with his mom, and that in high school, Seonghwa actually performed one of their songs with his friends.

“There’s a video of it, actually,” Jiyu remembered, bursting out into giggles when she saw the older’s eyes start shaking at the mention of the video.

“I did Rhythem Ta for one of my monthly evaluations,” Jiyu added when she remembered a dance evaluation she had back in SM.

San’s eyes lit up. “Oh? Me, too!” he exclaimed, reaching over to give her a high-five.

while getting her makeup retouched and her mic on, wooyoung handed her the gun prop

“remember our training” he joked

“psh, what training, it was you and the ‘99 line cornering me and shooting me out,” she playfully smacked his arm

Having chosen Rhythem Ta as their song, Hongjoong had recreated the song with them theme from a drama series called Money Heist. To get them into the “action” mood, they decided to have an outing that also served as a “training” session.

“You know, this wasn’t what I had in mind when you said we should go training,” Jiyu chuckled when she saw where Wooyoung had taken them to.

Laser tagging.

During the game, she swore they all forgot at some point that they were here to get in the feel for their performance since they were all having so much fun. But she couldn’t blame them, she was the same.

“This isn’t fair!” she whined as she ran away from the 99z who were trying to corner her. Eventually, San was the one to shoot her out.

“standby!”

they all started together this time in a car so it made her a little less nervous compared to if they were all spread out

she ended up sitting across from yunho, and when it started, she playfully nudged his leg with her’s

(he softly smiled before nudging it back) 🥺

please, when the car “crashed”, she literally felt herself getting tossed around—

barely managed to slip her mask on in time with a second to spare

sauntered out of the car with the gun over her shoulder and pretended to shoot the dancers

that action alone caused an uproar in the waiting rooms

(but sunwoo personally felt that)

whenever she wasn’t in a certain shot, she would silently cheer for them while following the camera man

but the duality after—

went from a baby cheering for her members to cocky real quick when she had to be in front of the camera

she was once again the center of the last dance break and when jongho finished his first high note, he moved so the camera was on her

she twirled both of her pigtails with an innocent looking smile before it quickly changed back to the cocky and charismatic expression

“this is the same girl that couldn’t look me in the eye when she bumped into us backstage and wished us good luck” (bobby)

“she’s the youngest one out of everyone on this show!” (literally everyone in BTOB)

she definitely got wacked with a chain here and there but luckily she managed to keep her face safe

gave the camera her famous smirk before it panned over to hongjoong’s last scene

everyone was just really blown away from how she manages to go from “kingdom’s baby” to “kingdom’s demon” in the span of five minutes

“It’s kind of scary how she manages to change her personality so quick,” Felix commented. “We’ve been friends for a while, but it surprises me every single time.”

“I’m kind of scared of her now,” Eunkwang joked, pretending to rub his goosebump covered arms, “Is this how idols are like now?”

Even New had something to comment about her. “We sometimes see their stages whenever our schedules overlap, but this is the first time for us to be seeing her like this.”

once the camera’s were off, she immediately reverted back to her old, smiley self and thanked the camera crew for their hard work

“now let’s relax and enjoy the other performances” hongjoong said

jiyu didn’t have to be told twice

biggest melodys seonghwa and jiyu appeared!

she felt like she just witnessed a BTOB concert

please when minhyuk ripped off his shirt—

she’s never seen the boys move so fast to try and cover her eyes

“stay loyal baby monster!!” (wooyoung)

“that’s slander, who do you take me for?!”

but then seeing Stray Kids performance made her a little emotional

she didn’t really know why but she started to tear up

it scared the boys since she was jamming out to the performances one second, now she was crying—

she has her reasons for crying, don’t judge her :((

but she managed to fix herself up before they had to go to the ranking announcements

she felt immense pressure from sitting there and waiting for the results

could they manage to keep their place?

when she saw their group name at the top for the expert evaluation again, she swore she was seeing things

it wasn’t until yunho held onto her hand out of relief that it sunk in

then when they managed to still remain first after combining the group votes, she was so happy

(but she saw how disappointed sunwoo was so she surprised him with a flurry of hugs and little kisses backstage before she had to leave for their next schedule) 🥺

atinys after the episode were convinced she had joined the demon line with san

her on universe that same night: “hehe hello my beautiful atiny! ☺️”

hongjoong wasn’t kidding at the press conference when he said jiyu still had a lot to show

You! Are the reason I was able to become a part of this fandom. When I first stumbled over Kanato and began looking into the whole Dialovers thing it was your blog google threw my way. So I got myself a PS Vita, cracked that thing over the course of several weeks, because holy shit is it difficult to get an emulator onto that thing if you don't know what you're doing, and then I played Haunted Dark Bridal with your translations.

And look where I am now with over 100 posts on my Kanato blog @papuru666... It has become one of my greatest comforts to analyze the brat and it all could only happen because you and all the other amazing, selfless, genius translators who make it possible with their continuous work. Thank you, I'm bowing my head in gratitude 💝

I have a question or rather: something I'd like to ask of you or rather rather: a twofold proposal.

I want to replay HDB and analyze Kanato's full route, going through each chapter, to point out interesting things, analyze his behavior and the way Rejet plots their scenes. For that I can absolutely just paraphrase what happens and it should work out. But for a better reading experience quoting some of your translation work to better structure my essays would be a tremendous upgrade.

I do not intend to say anything about language or the way translation and original interact because I can't, I don't understand japanese at all, and because I have too much respect for your work to mess with it in any way.

But there's a lot of text in Kanato's route alone, so asking this of you I feel unwell even if I don't intend to quote like the whole thing, only selected parts. I want to repay you somehow, if this is in any way okay for you at all. I really don't know what would be enough or of what kind of service I can be to you. But I'm open for anything!

I already asked another translator, @tournesolia for permission to use their translations a while ago. And I still intend to do that for the games I first played with their translations. But for pure sentimental reasons - it all started with you! - I'd like to go back to the exact experience I had and recreate the feeling of falling in love with Kanato for the first time. As crazy as that is, objectively speaking. 🙈

I also want you to know that if that is not okay for you, I am absolutely not disappointed, you give so much, I've already been spoiled for life. Thank you so much for your time and efforts, I send lots of love to you! 🥺💜💜💜

Even though Kanato is not my favorite character (in the slightest haha), I do think there's some extremely interesting content in his HDB route in particular! (A lot of it completely unexplored because Rejet completely ditched it themselves :'') )

DNP Rewatch: THE NOT-MILK CHALLENGE

There was a bit of a long gap between videos, because in early February DNP were in Florida for Playlist Live!, from February 5 to February 11. The first thing they did was have pancakes (of course, lol); they also had a merch booth for the first time (w/ Martyn and Cornelia running it!); relaxed with room service; went to a party (I love that Dan shirt)...

...met a Vine star; met lots of subscribers; hung out with Cat; went to Harry Potter World; and had pineapple cocktails. This was also the year Dan had a creepshot war with Casper Lee.

So Phil was jet-lagged when he got back to filming.

0:06 - “gnawed on by a tiny otter” that is an interesting description for jet lag.

0:11 - would love to know what a “plane video” consisted of. Also: this clip. 😭

0:18 - dramatic zoom-in on “angriest”

0:30 - this man already sounds so unpleasant. Phil making sure to fully defend Dan here too.

0:43 - oh Phil. I can’t sleep on planes either, so I feel his pain.

1:11 - I would be mortified, but it was an accident and that guy seems to have been overreacting to everything. Poor Phil. 😕

1:26 - I know he’s portraying the angry man but this is a good Phil look.

4:58 - love Dan asking for a rating as if that’s something they’ve been doing for all the options, which they haven’t

5:21 - “that was beautiful, Dan” That wasn’t even one of Dan’s best made-up songs; they are too much.

This video has such a strange premise, but I still love it. Phil’s facial expressions are fantastic. And it’s pretty much just a casual Phil update.
