"What are you doing?" a familiar voice comes, forcing Derek to tear his eyes off the dance floor to look at Lydia's raised eyebrow. He leans his back against the bar.
"Nothing," he mutters. "Just waiting for your drink."
"You mean... the one in your hand?" Lydia asks, looking pointedly at the drink he's holding.
"Oh! Right. Here." He shoves it into her hand. "Leave it alone, Lyds."
"I didn't say a word!" she protests, but they both know. His eyes slide across the room to the dance floor.
Stiles fucking Stilinski dances with Caitlin, his head tossed backwards in laughter, as he slips his hands around her waist and pulls her closer.
"But," Lydia says, interrupting again, "... if I were to say something, it'd be this: you should just tell him how you fucking feel."
Derek scoffs. "I don't know what you mean."
"You do. You're just too stubborn and scared to do something about it." Lydia hums before she says, "I'm going back to make-out with your sister."
"Lydia, god!" Derek says, cringing. He shakes his head, and watches as she sways to the music while she walks back to their table. He should join everyone, but they can be so overwhelming sometimes. And he really doesn't want to watch Lydia and Cora make out. Derek sighs before turning back towards the bar. At least he can pretend to be interested in the hockey game playing on the screen. It's a recap of the game from earlier, but that doesn't matter.
He takes at least three shots of tequila before he makes his way back to the table.
"Derek!" Erica exclaims in excitement when he sits down beside her. She throws her arms around his shoulders, and he can smell the alcohol on her breath. "Did you know that Boyd is going to propose to me soon?!"
"What are you talking about?" Derek asks, carefully tugging Erica off him. He glances around, but Boyd's at the other end of the long table talking with Scott and Isaac.
"Call it a girl's intuition," Erica says, grinning. She winks at him. "And I may have found the ring in his underwear drawer when I was looking for my favourite pair of his boxers."
Derek forces a smile on his face. "That's exciting, Erica."
"Isn't it?" she asks, beaming. She looks over at Boyd, and the love is clear as day on her face.
He can't help but admire their relationship. Even if he usually feels jealous. It's hard to be anything but happy for them. They haven't always had the easiest of paths - when Erica came out as a woman, a lot of people in her life had a hard time adjusting. But Boyd was at her side, steady as a rock. He calmly explained to ignorant people, punched a guy or two, but not once, did he ever waver in his obvious love for her.
Derek tunes out when Erica and Kira start giggling. He tries not to look at Lydia making out with Cora, as promised, and lets himself have one more moment.
He watches as Stiles moves his hips closer to Caitlin. They've been messing around for a few weeks now, Derek thinks. He's not entirely sure how serious she is about Stiles, but he's pretty sure that Stiles is serious about Caitlin. He keeps talking about how she just 'opened up his world.'
A hand clasps Derek's shoulder suddenly and he looks up to see Jackson towering over him. "You good, man?"
"Yeah," Derek says, trying to repress the urge to sigh again. He gives Jackson a tight smile. "Just not feeling like the drinking scene tonight. Might grab an Uber home."
Jackson squeezes his hand on Derek's shoulder before saying, "Do what you gotta do, man."
"Thanks."
Jackson swings around to the other side of the table to sit beside Kira. He gives her a small kiss on the cheek, something only they really do in their group of friends. Derek doesn't get their friendship, or even how they got so close considering they'd only met Kira a few months ago, but he's not going to question it anymore tonight.
He stands up, staggering a little, and gives the table a small nod. "I'm heading out. Early day tomorrow."
"Really?"
Derek startles at the sound of Stiles' voice. He turns and shrugs. "Yeah. Looks like you're having fun on your own anyway."
Stiles glances at Caitlin grabbing water at the bar before he says, "Oh, right. Sure. Um. See you later?"
Derek nods and, without another word to anyone, despite their protests, leaves.

"You really should just tell him," Lydia hisses at their friendsgiving a month later.
"Tell him what, Lydia? That I'm obsessed with him? That I replay every interaction over and over in my head? That I can't get his lips out of my head?" Derek snaps. "Because I think the fact that he brought a date to friendsgiving is a good sign that it's not going to happen. He doesn't see me like anything but a friend."
Lydia takes a small step back, and quietly says, "But... what if he's just messing around because he thinks you're not into him?"
Derek snorts. "Yeah, okay. Not sure what universe you're living in."
Just then, Stiles bounds over to them. "Hey, guys! Have you heard from Danny yet? He's flying back in from New York to surprise Jackson."
Derek shakes his head, glancing at Lydia who checks her phone.
"Nope," she says. "But speaking of Jackson, I need to talk to him. Excuse me."
Lydia walks away, back towards the living room, leaving Derek and Stiles alone in the kitchen.
"How are you doing?" Stiles asks, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
"Fine, I guess. You?" Derek asks, bringing his whiskey glass to his lips. This is painful. He can't even be normal around Stiles anymore. It hurts too much.
"Fine, I guess," Stiles echoes. He frowns, his eyebrows coming together. "What's been up with you lately? You're so... distant. I feel like we never hang out anymore. And like, no offense to everyone else, but you're kind of my best friend, dude."
Dude. Derek takes a deep breath and says, "Nothing. Work's just been busy, that's all. Besides, you've been glued to Caitlin's hip."
Stiles tilts his head. "Wait, what does Caitlin have to do with this?"
"I don't know. You tell me." Derek steps forward, ready to brush past Stiles, but then Stiles puts his hand on Derek's shoulder and he freezes at the touch.
"Derek, c'mon. You can trust me. Tell me anything. I promise." Stiles' eyes plead with him.
"It's really nothing," Derek mumbles. He closes his eyes briefly before adding, "Like I said, work's been busy."
"Oh. Okay." Stiles lets him go. And just like that, Derek's heart breaks all over again.
Derek makes his way back to the living room, and accidentally, gets caught up in a small group with Caitlin. He tries to politely excuse himself, but before he can, Caitlin says, "Do you all know if Malia is single?"
He freezes.
"No, she's not. She's actually dating Kira," Erica says, glancing curiously at Derek. "Why... why do you ask?"
Caitlin pouts. "Oh. No, I just... had a crush on her. No biggie though. I'm not here to step on any toes."
Derek would scoff if his mind wasn't racing. Before he can stop himself, he blurts, "Aren't you dating Stiles?"
"Stilinski?" Caitlin asks, before she bursts into laughter. "What? Oh my god, no. He was just trying to help cheer me up after a brutal break-up. He doesn't even know that I've been eyeing his friend."
Derek can't catch his thoughts.
It's been two months. Two months of Stiles and Caitlin being so close. Two months of Derek mourning what could have been. Two months of him breaking his own heart over a misunderstanding and an assumption.
"Excuse me," he says, ignoring Erica's confused expression. He turns and immediately, his eyes lock onto Stiles' from across the room. Stiles' eyebrows come together. Derek nods towards the kitchen door and Stiles doesn't say a word to Laura and Cora as he leaves them.
"What's wrong?" Stiles whispers once he's in the kitchen behind Derek. Derek turns around, his eyes wide.
"Are you single?" he asks.
Stiles jerks his head back in surprise. "Uh, yeah. Hello? Have you met me? No one wants to put up with this ADHD mess of a human. Besides, I've been told I talk too much, and I'm just... y'know, too much in general. And--"
"Stiles," Derek interrupts.
He stills, staring at Derek. "What? Why did you ask anyway?"
"Stiles, I..."
"Wait. Did you think I was dating Caitlin?"
Sometimes, Stiles is too quick for his own good. Derek drags a hand through his hair. "Well... yeah."
Stiles scoffs. "Is that why you've been so distant and weird?"
"Sort of. I just wanted to give you space," Derek mumbles. "I mean, before she started hanging around us... you and I used to spend every minute together. And... and, I don't know!"
"Derek," Stiles says, quietly. Derek freezes again. "Why... why would you care?"
"Why?" Derek mutters. "What a great question. Why. Why would I care. I don't. I mean, I do. But I don't--I don't know, okay?"
"Yes, you do."
And here he is, doing it again. Stiles always knows how to push Derek's buttons. And maybe that's a good thing. Derek swallows, and quietly says, "You're my everything, Stiles. I...I gave you space with Caitlin because I couldn't handle seeing you two together. I couldn't--it just--it broke my heart, and--"
Stiles' smile could light up the whole goddamn city. Derek's heart pounds. "Derek. You know I'm in love with you, right?"
"Wha--"
"Have been since I was sixteen." Stiles shrugs. "Haven't you noticed how little I bring people around to the group? It's because no one ever measures up to you. It's because you're my everything. I just figured you'd never look at me like that."
"Wait," Derek starts. "My brain is trying to catch up."
Stiles laughs, and it's a beautiful sound. Perhaps Derek's favourite sound.
"I love you, you idiot. You. No one else," Stiles says. He says it with so much confidence that Derek allows himself to believe it.
Just this once.
Derek leans forward, but is pushed back when Stiles tackles him and his lips. They're kissing. He's kissing Stiles fucking Stilinski. Derek almost laughs in joy and surprise and confusion and pure delight. But the sound is muffled by Stiles' kisses.
"Oh my god, finally!"
They break apart to see Lydia standing in the doorframe. She clasps her hands together and smiles. "Y'all, Derek and Stiles are making out!"
"Lydia!" Derek hisses.
She sticks her tongue out while there are cheers and calls from the other room. Lydia winks. "I'll leave you two boys to it. When you come up for air, can you check on the pies? They're warming in the oven. Okay, love you, bye!"
And she slips back into the living room.
There's a moment of silence.
And then Derek finds himself laughing. And Stiles is laughing. And together, they laugh in between kisses, and everything feels right for the moment.

Tobirama point of view:
An evening ? An evening still passes but a games evening you are obliged to participate. We weren't in college anymore, I could hide away in my corner away from all that loud, cheesy music that my brothers loved. I was even lucky enough to leave without anyone noticing. But a board game night or whatever you want to call it everyone will be that I'm there. If I leave, that would make me an asshole, of course the uchiha hosts know me quite well. they must have already thought that I am. I'm mostly invited because my brother and izuna are dating. I'm talking about Hashirama! Itama has this relationship with Kagami that I tolerate, I like him quite well actually. kawarama and obito have this ambiguous relationship I still haven't put the word on it. But I'm pretty sure they're dating and if so their flirting wasn't discreet. Toka our cousin, who we consider our sister is going out with hikaku.
Me in this story? I haven't been charmed by an uchiha yet. Of course, I get along well with Madara but from there to go out with him. Well I admit... I have a weakness for him but I have another problem I met Uzumaki Mito. Let's say that being not good with my feelings my heart swings between them.
I could only sigh as I parked, I'm sure I'll be the last. Of course, I'm on time, but when this kind of evening comes, I manage to arrive last. I don't like getting up every time a new person arrives. so much happened in the last say hello to everyone. And this survey once or twice if there are latecomers.
I hadn't even had time to get out of my car when Hashirama was already against my window. I frown, giving him a cringe. I could see Itama and Kawarama behind him. And Toka been on the fucking hood of my sports car.
Tobirama: Enough! Cleared.
I opened my door almost hitting Kawarama with it. I turned to take my jacket, I felt Itama wrap around me like a koala. what are their problems?
Tobirama: Vital space, don't you know?
Hashirama: We don't want you to run away.
Tobirama: anija... Already pull back from my face, I say pushing him gently. I will not arrive to leave.
Kawarama: You can never be too careful.
tobirama: let go of my hand will you. You are making quite a circus.
Toka: Tobirama is right! Let's be a bit mature for once.
Tobirama: Get out of my car already. We can talk about it again. And you get your heavy things off my back.
I couldn't get rid of them. it turns out that they had all been waiting for me outside... They're crazy, it's not even 5 degrees outside. I knock on the door as best I can with Itama still on my back. Kawarama doesn't let go of my hand and Hashirama is half slumped on my free side. toka is nestled against my chest clinging around my neck.
Hikaku: what are you doing? He paused before speaking again, that sounds rather amusing.
Tobirama: let us in, it hurts.
we finally got home, Madara and izuna looked at us while preparing the game table. Obito, who was coming out of the kitchen with something to drink, looked at us in turn. Mito was there fucking on the sofa hiding his laughter in his drink.
Tobirama: We're inside, idiots.
itama: YEAH THANK YOU TOBI! He said jumping back really hurting my back.
Hashirama and kawarama shouting in my ears then it took off from my person. Toka and I looked at each other for a long time before she spoke.
Toka: Carry me to the table.
tobirama: well then what else! Come down. I say pushing her but she's wrapped like a snake around my body. What is !?
Toka: I said CARRY me, to this damn table.
Tobirama: I said get down.
Izuna: Good! Meanwhile who wants a drink?
hashirama: me baby, give me a beer please.
Izuna: I have your favorites!
Hashirama: Yeah!!
It looks like everyone was seated. I sighed as I led her over to the table. she smiles at me wanting me to lower myself down how big her ass is against the chair.
Tobirama: I'm not Hashirama, you get out and quickly.
Hashirama: Hey! Oh let's play truth dare.
Toka: Ouch! Is that how you treat a woman? Throw it on the floor!? if it had been Mito-
Tobirama: I'll stop you right now, you're not a Toka woman. You are a fucking monkey.
I sat down with a vague wave never in my life trying to say hello to everyone. I already have aches because of the weight of my cousin, of course she is light but not after half an hour.
Izuna: Truth/dare? Who agrees for the classic.
Obito: go!
Madara: I agree.
Mito: It can be fun.
everyone seemed to be happy to play it except maybe Hikaku. The games started to make it easier or to avoid that some are chosen more than others the bottle will designate who takes the action or the truth. Hashirama had wanted to start without surprise. the game started slowly.
Our friend all had to drink a mixture of oil and vinegar. Itama must have sung a Rihanna song in boxers. Kawarama must have climbed onto the coffee table in the living room doing a funny duck dance. madara has confessed her first crush who was her teacher: Kaguya. Toka told us about her worst date with a man.
Hikaku had to exchange his top with that of the beautiful redhead. Mito smiled when the bottle fell on her. she seemed so serene which wasn't really reassuring when you know it's Hashirama doing the action.
Hashirama: Mito I invite you to kiss Madara!
Mito: very good!
Seeing my two crushes kissing had taken its toll. My heart hadn't stopped beating. this little bastard even sending it still couldn't choose! I snapped out of my reverie when Kagami nudged me. Like me, he had not yet been appointed.
All in all I think he was because he clearly asks me what I want to choose. I already don't know how to choose between two people... So truth or dare? Well, I still don't want to move, I'm going to choose truth.
Tobirama: truth. The young uchiha smiled at me. He glanced not discreetly at Hashirama, older brother to the con.
kagami: are you in love with any in this room? Might as well not lie... Even if the number is actually doubled.
Tobirama: Yes.
Izuna: what just "yes"? Tell us Tobirama!
Tobirama: He would have had to formulate his question differently, that's all. it was closed.
Better times for me, I glance over to Mito and Madara who have been seated across from me. Fate is sometimes on my side I never would have believed. The two were blushing is it still due to their kiss? Itama growled for me to play. I finally turn my bottle it falls on Madara. Fate is so cruel to me.
Tobirama: So?
Madara: Action.
Tobirama: Kiss the man, I said the man you find the most handsome in this room.
for games evening those who are in a relationship have full confidence in their partner. They therefore give their agreement for this kind of challenge and so much the better otherwise it would piss everything off. Madara stood up having turned red mumbling something that no one could hear. he dropped one of his many alcoholic beverages as he got up. Nobody moved leaving the uchiha to make his way. He was a little drunk and he was a little slow. He seemed to have decided who to kiss. Is it Itama? He is heading towards us. being in a reflection once again useless. I didn't see him this close to me. It's only when I felt warm palms against my cheeks that I knew he was there.
My heart hadn't been ready for that at all. of course the kiss was wet and sloppy considering the drunkenness of the man but I returned it as best as I could. He withdrew, blushing harder, then almost fled to sit next to Mito. Almost hiding it in her shoulder.
Tobirama: good.
izuna: how good!? Holy shit that was hot.
Kagami: sloppy but so hot.
We all ignore them, when Madara comes back among us he spins that bottle again. truths and dares really started to get ridiculous like the now high blood alcohol level in my blood.
Hashirama: Tobirama! Truth or Dare ?
Tobirama: hmm? Truth. At this everyone turned around trying to be attentive. Which was hard considering all the alcohol consumption.
Hashirama: what is the name of the person you are in love with?
Tobirama: Wait a second.
My brother smiled at me but his face spoke volumes. Does he think I would have lied earlier? My mind became even foggier than it was with alcohol. I startled everyone by taking the floor again. If I don't know how to choose, just say both, right?
Tobirama: Mito the redhead blushed and Toka pulled out an I knew it. Madara. Izuna cheered and his brother left with a blush.
Toka: Wait..is it Mito or Madara?
Tobirama: I lied. I said looking at her seriously.
Itama: Tobirama that doesn't do. Did you think of Mito and Madara in this story?
Tobirama: nah not on that, I lied to Kagami.
Hikaku: Am I the only one who doesn't understand?
Obito: My god! He's in love with Kagami!?
Tobirama: no, I lied saying that I liked a person here.
Kawarama: Tobirama- began my brother.
Tobirama: do it, I like two. Madara and Mito... it was so hot when they kissed...i couldn't tell myself i was jealous i liked it.
A silence reigned but I was too drunk to care to be ashamed anyway. Mito and Madara who had said nothing until then finally spoke.
madara: I have a crush on Tobirama! Everyone turned to him surprised. The truth is, I've already been dating Mito for 3 years... And uh
The redhead picked up where the uchiha had stopped too embarrassed to speak. my brain was struggling to connect all my neurons together right now.
Mito: Madara and I have been together for 3 years now... Actually, we talked about considering Tobirama going out with us. I always had this strange need to have them both together near me.
Madara: We have... We wanted to announce our relationship.
Mito: and maybe ask Tobirama to be our boyfriend. Or if he didn't want to. Perhaps the ideal person for our future threesome.
Madara: I'm in love with Mito and Tobirama.
Mito: as I am from Madara and Tobirama. So we were not offended in this story.
Madara: I was quite pleased. He said blushing.
Mito: I was also happy at that time. she played shyly with her beautiful red hair.
I stood there without saying anything. I end up smiling as I approach them. That's true ? Why do I have to choose if I can have the two two people I love? And that his two people love me in question. I approached Mito making her stop playing with her pretty locks kissing her. Madara was behind the redhead at the end of our kiss she hid against my chest. I take advantage of my size differences to reach the lips of the uchiha with our beautiful Mito between us.
tobirama: i want to be your boyfriend.
Madara: I love you.
Mito: I love you guys too.
Tobirama: This is the best birthday of my life.
Everyone: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!?
tobirama: asshole, isn't that why you brought me here by the skin of my ass!?
Hashirama: Don't worry, we said that for fun!
Madara: happy birthday to our boyfriend!
Mito: happy birthday, Tobirama my love.
the others: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBIRAMA!!
I couldn't help but smile, it's actually the best birthday of my life.
END.

Sae byeok x innocent and bubbly s/o headcanons please
yuss here you go :> (squid game never existed here)
Sae Byeok x innocent and bubbly s/o headcanons
◦First of all, SAE BYEOK WOULD DIE FOR YOU BECAUSE YOURE ALL "<3333 :DD :3 :>" and she just loves you so much.
◦Honestly, she never thought she would end up with someone like you.
◦Sae straight up thinks that you're really precious and she'll never let anyone hurt you. And like- you're so nice to everyone in public and she's there ":|". She just doesn't want people to take advantage of you and hurt you so that's why she'll always warn you to be careful while talking to people.
◦You and Sae Byeok are the opposite of each other, she's all scary and the type to shoo anyone away then you're there greeting people and just smiley smiley.
◦You have the ability to make someone's day so much better I'm not even going to lie, especially your girlfriend's day. Like she'll come home from work/school, exhausted and you'll tell her funny stuff to make her day so much better.
◦Because of you Sae Byeok tries to get rid of her bad habits such as pickpocketing, getting into huge debts. Because something bad will happen to either of you and she doesn't want that.
◦Sae Byeok opens up to you a lot, yeah you might seem a little hard to trust but you're actually a really good listener. So whenever she needs a shoulder to cry on, you'll always be there to tell her that everything is going to be fine.
◦Your girlfriend always has the urge to just hold you close, she doesn't care if it's in public or in private. She just likes having physical contact with you because you make her feel happy and just by seeing you her mood will lift up.
◦In public, you like to link you and Sae's pinky together and she'll say stuff like "That's so childish" or "This is very cringe of you" but deep down she's squeling internally.
◦To be honest, Sae is a very touch deprived person. It's been a long time since she's had someone to care for her and having someone like you to love her is a blessing.
◦You never judged her for her past mistakes, sometimes she'll think that she doesn't deserve you because you're a saint and she's just some wounded jerk.
◦You'll persistently remind her that some mistakes get made and that's alright. You have done some mistakes in your past too but what matters is what are going to do to change that.
◦Other than that, Sae Byeok knows how much you love to leave handwritten messages for her such as "Remember to eat <3" , "Take your phone with you :D" , "Drink water :>" .She'll collect them and put them in a box.
◦When you're away for a long period of time, she'll open the box and read the messages again to make her feel like a part of you is there with her. (Imagine if you died and she does this LMFJEHJKDH)
◦Then after you're back, you two will just keep on talking about your days and just look at each other in awe.
◦Cheol LOVES you because you're so nice to him and he just loves your personality so much. He shares his toys and games with you and always invites you to play with him.
◦Then Sae Byeok will stand like at the side and just admire you so much. Cheol loves to tease his sister about you, he'll tell you sutff like "Sae Byeok always smile and blush so hard while texting you" , "She will NEVER stop rambling about you while I'm doing my homework."
◦Sae just brushes it off but she knows that whatever came out of her brother's mouth is true. And I mean you can send her a good morning/night text and she'll be running laps for you.
◦Because you're so bubbly and all, Sae Byeok likes to tease you and you'll probably explode but she likes to see you like that. She just loves making you flustered.
◦When Sae is with you, all of her pain will automatically go away. You're the reason she believes in faith, you're her paradise.
◦Sae Byeok loves cuddling with you because you'll kiss and hold her hands. That one thing can drive her crazy but also make her comforted.
◦You never fail to fill Sae Byeok's heart with butterflies and she'll continue to fight for you until the end of the world.

Thank you for requesting and I hope you enjoy it!!
--
Mikey, Draken, Mitsuya, Nahoya, Ran, Rindo, Hanma, Baji on a date that gets interrupted
TW: mentions of threats, language, jealousy, cringe-y insults that authour has made up based around the prompt :)
--
Mikey
It had all started off as a normal date between the two of you. Mikey had insisted that you both visit this new dessert cafe that had opened up not that long ago in Shibuya. He had been saving it as a date idea and resisted the urge to demand Draken to take him. It was torture for the sweet-tooth but it would be worth it when you both could experience it together.
You were as equally as excited as your boyfriend. It had been months since you were both able to just go on a date alone. After all, every other time someone who always show up and it would quickly devolve into a hang out session. Today though, Mikey had made sure to express how this time was just between you and anyone who dared interrupt will be dealt with. Sounds threatening but it mainly meant they would have to make it up to the two of you by buying bag loads of desserts for a week. Childish but effective.
It wasn't long until you were both seated at a table, one that was directly by the window. You couldn't believe how perfect this place was! The tables held a menu that was shaped as a crepe and even the napkins that were available had desserts printed along the surface. It was just so cute!
Nothing could do anything to ruin this date for you. You both ordered your favourite desserts (Mikey had to order something other than dorayaki and so simply ordered ice cream) and were now just waiting for the order to be brought over. All was well in the cafe.
That was until a girl around your age had approached the table. At first, you thought she might know Mikey or was maybe one of Emma's friends who simply wanted to say hi. However, that was quickly thrown out when she began to flirt with your boyfriend, twirling a strand of light brown hair around her finger. You simply watched, anger bubbling dangerously in your chest and you had to keep yourself from beating her ass. She must know you were there, after all, you were right beside her.
"Can you please stop flirting with my boyfriend?" You forced a dangerously sweet smile on your face. "We are enjoying our date. So please kindly fuck off before I rip your ovaries from your body," your tone didn't match your words. Every word was dripping in honey yet your eyes screamed 'murder'.
Mikey couldn't hold back his grin from how you threatened the girl. He knew you could be intimidating but this threat was something that amused him immensely. Rip her ovaries out? Over simply trying to flirt with him? Well, he sure couldn't get any more smug. You loved him that much, huh?
"Wow Y/N, never knew you could be so intimidating," the blond joked, amusement glinting in his dark irises. You simply blushed, feeling a little embarrassed but mainly proud of yourself.
The two of you continued on with your date as the waiter brought your desserts to the table. You couldn't have asked for a better day with your Mikey.
Draken
Draken had suggested that you both go to the beach for the day since the weather was so warm. You had packed a picnic for the two of you, wearing cute swimwear underneath a f/c t-shirt and shorts. Slipping on a pair of sandals, Ken had arrived not too long after and you were both off on your way to your destination.
You had both found the perfect spot and set up the towels. Draken simply threw his shirt off as he was already wearing his swim shorts, while you began to strip yourself of the outerwear. Your boyfriend couldn't stop staring once he realised how good you looked in the swimwear.
However, he wasn't the only one to notice and in fact, a group of boys had taken notice and were ogling at your now exposed figure. Draken nor yourself noticed and continued to enjoy your time together. After all, this was quite rare nowadays since Mikey would take up a lot of the blond's time. You didn't mind, it just made days like this extra special and much more enjoyable.
Ken had offered to grab the two of you drinks from the beach stall not too far from where you were situated. You were appreciative for the offer and asked your boyfriend to grab you your favourite cold beverage. He agreed before placing a soft kiss to your forehead, standing up to complete the errand.
It hadn't even been two minutes since the tall blond had left your side before one of the boys had approached you. If it wasn't for the cocky attitude that practically oozed out of him, you would have waved him off with a smile and an apology. In fact, you had tried. He just seemed to be incapable of taking no as an answer or accepting that you were with Draken and that's who you were going to remain with.
Speaking of Draken, he was beginning his way back to where you were, cold beverages in his hands. Everything seemed fine until he noticed the boy trying his hardest to flirt with his partner. No. He wasn't going to have that. And so your boyfriend began his march over to the towel, ready to smash his fists into this idiot's face once he had handed you your drink. However, as he got close enough, his anger and jealousy dissolved into pure amusement.
"Right, this obviously isn't getting through your stupidly thick skull," a heavy sigh indicated how annoyed you had become. "I am enjoying my date with my boyfriend and I really don't need you ruining it. Now, kindly fuck off back to wherever you crawled out from before I chop your dick off and ram it down your throat!" The smile that accompanied your words was too sweet for the threat. It was as if two personalities were clashing together in this one moment.
The boy, now scared for his own safety, was quick to scurry back to his friends. Draken watched before taking his rightful place at your side once again. Cold beverage now handed to you, he opened his own before taking a large mouthful. It cooled him down instantly and a breath of relief was released.
"So... About you threatening that boy..." Draken couldn't stop the smirk that tugged at his lips as your face instantly burned a bright pink. He was going to enjoy teasing you about this.
Mitsuya
The two of you were hanging out at the park with Luna and Mana. Takashi had invited you with him since the girls were asking about playing with you again. Ever since you both started dating, you had grown close to the two small girls, almost acting like an older sibling in some ways.
Luna and Mana were playing on the play equipment while you and Takashi were relaxing on a nearby bench, keeping an eye on the two young children. An arm around your shoulder as the two of you conversed about your weeks. You had a simple week so far; school and homework, while Mitsuya spoke about his Home Ec Club and the basics of his Toman life.
The date couldn't have been going any better, in your opinion. You were spending much needed time to unwind and be around the sweetest boy you knew. There was very little that could ruin this date, right? Well, Takashi had left the bench to make sure his sisters were entertained and safe. You had told the boy that you would watch over his jacket and bag, a soft smile directed in his direction before he went onto the playground.
Moments later and Takashi looked over towards where he had left you with his belongings. He was expecting to see you maybe scrolling through your phone or even looking over to watch the siblings. However, the sight that greeted him caused his blood to boil slightly and his jaw to clench. Some random boy had decided to begin flirting with you and it looked like you were quickly getting fed up with the advances. Telling Luna and Mana that he was going to check on you, he began to make his way back to you.
"C'mon beautiful! Just give me a chance!" Even his voice was starting to grate on Mitsuya's nerves. If he carried on, Takashi would not hesitate to teach him a lesson, even if it went against his more peaceful ways.
"Listen. For one, I don't know you nor do I wish to get to know you. Another thing, I have a boyfriend and we are currently on a date so he should be back soon. Finally, please fuck off before I rip off your nuts and use them to feed the damn squirrels!" You smiled softly at the boy, your eyes glinting with actual intent on carrying through with the threat. That was enough to scare the boy and for Mitsuya to chuckle to himself.
He understood how vicious you could get when you used your words. It was what had first got him to notice you after all. Internally, he was still seething at how the boy had tried to take what was his, but outwardly, the lilac-haired male gave you a soft smile and sat back down next to you.
Nahoya
Of course the two of you would be hanging out at the arcade. After all, you were both competitive and would settle disagreements with games. The current disagreement had came to be settled with a game of House of the Dead, a zombie shooting game. You would both take a turn and then whoever had gotten the furthest into the game would win this argument. Sure it was costing you more than if you were playing casually but this was your pride on the line here.
Currently, you were winning and Nahoya was refusing to back down. It got to the point where Smiley had dragged you away from the House of the Dead machine and decided this disagreement would be decided through the basketball hoop games. After all, he was much better at this than the shooting games. You just agreed, now enjoying the time you both were spending together as well as how desperate your boyfriend was becoming.
This had quickly evolved into a date, no matter how much Nahoya was insisting it was to settle the disagreement. In fact, he was enjoying himself and kept dragging you from one game to another. At this point, neither of you could remember the initial disagreement that started your trip to the arcade.
Collecting armfuls of tickets, your boyfriend had suggested you both head over to the prize counter to cash them in for a prize that you both could enjoy. And so you made your way to the counter where a girl a little older than you was stationed, looking bored out of her mind. That was until she had caught sight of Smiley. In an instant, she had gone from bored to cheerful and more than happy to help.
Nahoya had allowed you to choose the prize since, although he hated to admit it, the majority of the tickets were yours. However, your answer on what prize you wanted had fallen on deaf ears. In fact, this girl seemed too busy ogling at your boyfriend and trying to appear as appealing as she could. Not that Nahoya noticed.
You tried one more time only to be met with the same result. Part of you wanted to beat this girl's face yet the other part found yourself proud that you had been the one to get someone as desirable as Smiley. However, this was quickly dissolving into jealous anger as she reached across and 'accidentally' brushed against Nahoya's hand as she took the tickets he held. "Oops, sorry~!" Her voice was getting on your nerves along with those flirtatious giggles and glances.
"If you wish to keep your arms and ovaries where they belong, I recommend you stop flirting with my boyfriend and get the damn prize I have asked for twice. Please and thank you!"
Smiley was surprised at your actions. You never usually get so jealous. He noticed how you smiled at the girl, almost gritting your teeth behind the barrier of your closed lips. Nahoya couldn't help but find it so cute and savoured the moment. He was definitely going to be bragging to the boys later on about how badass you seemed right then.
The girl clicked her tongue before going off to collect what you had asked for. She must have been salty over the fact she couldn't continue to flaunt off her assets to Nahoya. What she didn't know though was that she was simply saving herself from your wrath. After all, you were not past dragging her outside to defend what was rightfully yours if she kept testing her luck.
"Remind me to never get on your bad side, babe!" Smiley joked, his usual grin growing. You simply rolled your eyes while agreeing with the peach-haired Kawata.
It wasn't long until you had your prize choice in your possession and the two of you continued what had quickly become a date. That meant a bike ride around Shibuya, heading to the local ramen shop that Smiley loved, and then back to either his or your house to watch a movie.
Ran
You would follow your boyfriend anywhere when you could spare the time. Currently, you were clinging to the taller Haitani's arm while Rindo was talking to his elder brother about some gang business. Although you were always around, you never did get involved in their conversation. After all, Ran had told you were too innocent and sweet to get involved in such a violent life. He did everything he could to protect you from his lifestyle.
Due to how intimidating Ran could look and act, you really didn't have to worry about girls trying to flirt with him, and guys knew who he was so there was no way they would risk it. And so you had no reason to be jealous. Ran however, he was constantly on edge in case someone decided to try and steal you away from him. But then he would remember that no-one would dare mess with the Haitani brothers and everything would be fine again.
"Babe? I just need to nip into the convenience store real quick." You pointed over to where the closest one was situated, remembering how you needed some odd bits of things. Your boyfriend simply nodded in acknowledgement, placed a quick peck on the top of your head before continuing his conversation with Rindo. Smiling over the affection, you quickly made your way to your destination. The quicker you got there, the sooner you could be back with Ran after all.
It was a pretty normal trip for you. You had collected all the items you needed, paid for them and started your way back to where your boyfriend and his brother were probably still waiting. Maybe they had finished the gang discussions and you could join in with whatever the next topic was! You sure hoped so since it was starting to get you down not being able to contribute to the conversation. It was as you stepped back onto the street that a boy had stopped you, a nervous yet confident look in his eyes.
Ran would occasionally shift his gaze from his younger brother towards the store you had entered. It was his way of making sure you were safe. After all, there were a lot of people in Roppongi that disliked the Haitani brothers due to their position. Anyone could decide to take out their grudge against him on you and he would not be having that.
It was one of the times when he glanced up that he had noticed the boy talking to you. Your facial expression was telling him that you were quickly losing patience and that something must be happening. Ran interrupted Rindo mid-sentence before trying to casually make his way over. After all, it could be nothing and he wasn't the one to jump to conclusions about a situation. However, he had a hard time keeping his anger in check once he heard the boy's flirting. It was just too bad the rod was left at home.
"You're either deaf or really stupid. I have said that I need to get back to my boyfriend. Now please, fuck off before I chop your dick off and turn your balls into fuckin' earrings," your expression was really sweet when you had uttered the threat. Your lips were curled into a soft smile while your eyes had shut to hide the murderous aura that would surely be seen within them. Maybe Ran was rubbing off on you too much. After all, you used to be such a sweet person who was unable to say boo to a goose. Now you were making threats that even had your boyfriend nervous.
The boy was quick to follow your advice, walking as fast as he could away from the area. You let out a deep sigh before moving your gaze to where Ran and Rindo would be situated. Instead, you were surprised to find the taller Haitani frozen in place not far from you.
"Hey baby! I got my things!" The hand carrying the bag lifted to display the items. Ran snapped out of this daze before giving you a soft smile. He would have to tell Rindo to not piss you off.
Rindo
Nobody would believe you but Rindo loved taking you to cafes that he would come across when he and his brother wandered the streets of Roppongi. It was more to make you happy but he really enjoyed these outings. He could spoil you with your favourite drink and dessert while it was a quiet space for you both to talk about your days. It was one of the only places where Rindo could get away from all the gang business. Here he was just Rindo Haitani, your boyfriend.
You both arrived at one of your favourite cafes, ready to start the first half of your date. Rindo had planned the day so you were unsure on what would occur but that just made it more exciting! Taking your usual table at the back, Rindo couldn't help but chuckle as he watched you scan the menu. He knew you would pick the same thing every time you visited and yet it was almost a ritual you had developed. Sit at the table, scan the menu, decide to have the same thing. He found this adorable and enjoyed the predictability of the situation. Made him feel like a normal middle-schooler for once.
It wasn't long until the waitress had come over to take your orders. You noticed how she must have been new since you had never seen her working here before. At least she wouldn't judge that you ordered the same thing, you thought. The exchange was starting well, she had taken your order with very little hassle which you appreciated. However, it turned sour when she turned her attention to your boyfriend. It was as if a switch was flicked within the waitress as she began to get a little too comfortable around the blond.
Small arm touches when pointing at something on the menu, leaning over so her cleavage was more pronounced, the flirty heart eyes and giggles. All of it was beginning to irk you. Surely she could discern for herself that this was a date. You really couldn't believe the nerve the girl had in doing what she was doing while you sat across from the scene. Thankfully, she had finally taken the order and went to grab the drinks and desserts.
"You OK babe?" Rindo noticed how your usual smile was tense and more forced in its appearance. It was concerning him since you were fine a moment ago. This poor boy didn't realise how much the waitress was flirting, if he even registered that there was flirting. It's not his fault really. He just hardly gets attention when they could simply flirt with his brother.
You didn't answer, just relaxed a little bit. You couldn't get mad at the blond in front of you. After all, he was clueless when it came to girls liking him. Really, you should have kept that in mind considering how long it took for you both to get together due to his obliviousness to that. Slowly your usual smile was reappearing and Rindo felt like he could relax again himself. That was until the waitress came back over.
"Here's your order, handsome! And a little something extra~!" The girl winked as she placed your boyfriend's drink and dessert in front of him. You had caught sight of a slip of paper and what appeared to be a lipstick kiss staining the surface. Oh hell no. This was not on. It was hurting your face by trying to maintain the sweet expression.
"Excuse me but can you not flirt with my boyfriend while I am sat right here?" Keep up the smile Y/N. "After all, we are on a date and before you decided to act like a desperate hooker, we were actually enjoying ourselves. So now that we have our order, can you please fuck off before I decide to rearrange your face and make it so you can't have children?"
Rindo's eyes were as wide as the plates that held the desserts. He didn't really know what to think at that moment. What had happened to his sweet Y/N? Where did you learn to threaten someone? What he wasn't realising was that he was rubbing off on you after all this time you spent together.
The waitress simply glared at you before storming off back to the counter. She must have seen just how serious you were being even though your face had remained as sweet as sugar throughout it. You were proud of yourself and turned your attention from the girl towards your dessert and drink. In excitement, you grabbed at the spoon and scooped some of the sweet dessert into your mouth like a small child would with ice cream. A happy hum left your body as you enjoyed your treat.
"You're scary, you know that right babe?"
"I'm just protecting what's mine, Rin."
Hanma
Hanma enjoyed having you around him most of the time. He loved how you made his days more fun, especially when it came to how jealous you would get. In fact, he thought it was probably one of the most amusing sights he had been blessed with. You were so sweet usually that it was a huge surprise to others when you got jealous.
That day, the lanky male had decided to take you to the amusement park, thinking it was the best way to spend his time away from Kisaki. It was also a good way to get you to cling to him as you were always nervous when it came to certain rides like the Ferris Wheel. You could handle rollercoasters and other rides, but once you were sat on the rickety bench of the Ferris Wheel, you would have to cling onto your boyfriend's arm in fear of falling out.
Just like most of the others, it was rare for you to get some alone time with Shuji anymore. After all, if he wasn't busy with Kisaki, he was busy with something else. But you knew he would show up at your bedroom window most nights to just say hi and get a kiss before he left again. It wasn't an ideal relationship but it worked for you two.
So when Hanma had text you about the date, you were quick to get yourself ready. You made sure that your outfit was super cute and dolled yourself up a little. Hanma would no doubt tease you about how much effort you put in for him but you knew he secretly loved it. You were his girl after all and he was a lucky man to have you on his arm.
The journey from your house to the amusement park was a pretty uneventful one. Hanma had picked you up on his bike but had decided he would follow the rules of the road. As unpredictable as ever. He parked up his bike and you both went to buy your tickets to start the date properly.
The day was spent like any other amusement park date people went on. You rode the rollercoasters and ate your fair share of snacks that you knew weren't good for you. Everything was perfect. Well, if you excluded having to hold Hanma back from beating up a boy that had tried flirting with you. That took some doing since an angry Hanma is a strong Hanma.
It was as the sun was starting to set that the incident occurred. A girl with long blond hair had decided that she would try her luck in getting THE Shuji Hanma. All while you were standing there, cuddling into his arm. At first, you tried being polite by making your presence known. If she knew he was already taken then she should lose interest and move on with her day. What wishful thinking, eh? Instead, it seemed to spur her on more, even commenting on how Shuji deserved a 'real woman' not a 'child'. That was the last straw.
"I don't know whether you are blind, stupid or have a fuckin death wish at this point." You let go of Hanma's arm and stepped towards the annoyance. "But as you could clearly see, Hanma is taken. Now, unless you want me to put you six feet under, I suggest you fuck off and leave my boyfriend alone."
Maybe it was the sweet smile that accompanied the threat but the girl was scared. You were obviously crazy, she thought as she rushed back over to her group of friends. She was probably lucky to only get off with the verbal threat. If she hadn't have left, you would have caused a lot of injuries to her. After all, you had to be strong enough to do that when Hanma was your boyfriend.
Speaking of Hanma, he had watched the whole exchange with an amused smirk on his face. This threat was tame compared to the others he had heard leave your mouth before. However, he was disappointed that the other girl ran off. He was hoping to see you make that threat a reality until he would have to stop you. However, he still got to see that cute angry pout that would always show up when you had calmed down.
"If only she had stuck around. Could have had some fun."
"Shut up beanpole."
Baji
Baji was the one who would mainly get jealous. After all, you were gorgeous and he felt he didn't deserve you. So when anyone paid a little too much attention to you than what he felt comfortable with, he would get annoyed and have to stop himself from getting violent.
You both had decided to hang out just the two of you for once. Chifuyu was busy working at the pet store after all so you could count that day as a date. Baji had his arm wrapped around your shoulders as you wandered the streets of Shibuya, entering stores that caught your attention.
The date was going well. Considering you both would usually have Chifuyu, and more recently Takemichi, joining you, it was nice to just have some time to be a couple without worrying about making the younger blonds feel like third and fourth wheels. That meant you couldn't really enjoy innocent physical contact like this without feeling guilty. So this was rare and you were enjoying it a lot.
"Hey sweetie, you want to go get some Peyoung Yakisoba?" Baji asked, starting to direct you towards the usual spot you would get the delicious dish. You weren't sure why he asked considering he knew the answer would be yes. So with a giggle, you snuggled into the boy's side with a grin.
Baji felt his heart skip about 10 beats at the sight. You were honestly too cute for him and moments like this proved it.
The walk was only a few minutes but you remained glued to the boy's side the entire way. It was your favourite spot to be. Baji had offered to go and order the noodles while you wait outside, something that you reluctantly agreed to. You only agreed since the noodle shop was so small that you couldn't realistically stick by your boyfriend. And so you sat on the bench not too far from the door.
Baji wanted to be quick, not entirely comfortable with you sitting alone. Usually Chifuyu would keep you company and that kept the boy calm but since he wasn't here, you were forced to be alone. And that didn't sit right with the 1st Division Captain.
You kept yourself entertained by scrolling through your phone but that was short-lived as a boy a little older than you turned up. Placing a smile on your face, you decided to hear out what the boy might want. After all, it could be as innocent of a request as asking for directions. However, you were a bit too naive in that regard.
Your boyfriend exited the building, the noodles in hand, when he saw the boy flirting with you. Anger bubbled almost instantly within his chest and he was about to march over and pummel this idiot into the ground. It was only what you said next that had him stop in his war path.
"As I have said about 14 times now, I have a loving boyfriend and if you think I'm going to leaving him for a limp dick like you, you're delusional. Now, fuck off before I chop your shrimp dick off and offer it to the restaurant to use in one of their dishes. Although there wouldn't be enough to use in even a kiddie's portion." You delivered the threat with your usual smile yet Baji could see that your eyes were sending daggers the boy's way.
Baji couldn't be more proud of you for how you threatened that idiot. It amused him so much that he couldn't prevent the laughter that erupted from him. The boy who had previously seemed filled with confidence, was now running off in fear that you would follow through with the threat. You just glanced over at your amazing boyfriend with a grin on your features.
"C'mon babe, we're heading home. I'm so proud of how you handled that though." Baji calmed his laughter before placing a kiss to your forehead. Arm wrapped around you, the two of you headed towards the apartment building Baji lived in.

Dance AU with Natasha Romanoff x Reader. Fluffy confession please! Thanks!
Go With Me?
summary: one high school dance can change your life forever
pairings: Natasha Romanoff x fem reader
word count: 5.2k
warnings: swearing, lmk if i need to add any more
A/N anon i’m so so sorry this took so long. i couldn’t think of any ideas for awhile, then my shadowban happened. but better late than never ig? also i turned this into a high school AU cuz it was the only idea i could think of with the dance part. hope you don’t mind and i hope you enjoy! :D
“Agh, shit, fuck, ow, no,” you barely made your way through the crowd of people before finding your friends.
Why you agreed to do this in the first place, you had no idea.
All you knew now, was that you were stuck and couldn’t leave.
“Finally,” Wanda said, grabbing your wrist and pulling you close.
“Only 10 minutes late, I think that’s a record,” Carol teased, earning an eye roll from you.
You sighed, then stepped up on the stand with them.
You never really cared for high school football. But your friends practically begged you to go, claiming that you should at least go to one game this year.
You were very much regretting your decision now, still trying to get away from all the bodies pressed together in such a small space.
“We’re already winning,” Peter said with a grin.
You smiled back at him, not that you actually cared how your school’s football team was doing. You just hoped it would end quickly.
When your school scored again, the crowd erupted in cheers, resulting in you cringing from all the noise.
“I’m gonna get something from the concessions,” you told your friends, just wanting to get away for a few moments.
You stood back up, then walked to the edge of the bleachers before hopping down.
You kept walking until you stood in a short line of people, silently hoping the wait would be awhile.
It wasn’t that you hated your school or anything like that, it was just that games like this weren’t your thing. You loved your friends and hanging out with them, but you’d rather do something with them in a smaller, enclosed space. It was just overwhelming being around this many people.
“You don’t look happy,” a voice interrupted your thoughts from behind you.
You shrugged, turning around to face her.
“It’s interesting, you’re supposed to be happy ‘cause our school is winning.”
“Why should a simple game determine my emotions?”
“I’m not sure, to be honest. It’s just what I’ve seen most people do,”
“Is it what you do?”
“No,” she admitted, laughing. “I don’t even come here for the game,”
“What do you come for then?”
“People watching,”
There was something intriguing about this girl. Her red hair fell perfectly down her shoulders as her green eyes stared into yours.
“Natasha, by the way,” she told you.
“Y/N,”
“Well, Y/N, it looks like you’re up,” she said as she gestured to the concession stand worker waiting for your order.
You nodded, turning back around. You pulled out some cash, then just ordered a soda.
When the can was handed to you, Natasha got out of line and followed you back to the bleachers.
“Why didn’t you get anything?” You asked her.
“Not really in the mood, like I said; I don’t come here for football, so I guess I don’t come here for food either,”
You didn’t say anything, but grinned as she continued walking back with you. Your friends didn’t even notice that you brought someone back with you, they were all leaning over the fence shouting as the game commenced.
“I like your vest,” you said to Natasha after a few moments of silence.
“My sister gave it to me,” she replied.
“So besides people watching, what else do you like to do?”
“I’m a dancer,”
“Do you dance for the school?”
“God no, my sister and I both do ballet with a group outside of school,”
You took a sip of your drink before replying. You couldn’t help but notice the way her green eyes never left you.
Before you could say anything, she continued on.
“My childhood wasn’t great, but ballet was one of the only things that kept us sane. Even though it could be hell at times on its own, I still loved it. I would pretend that I was on the biggest stage in the world. Besides my sister, it was the only thing I could smile about, ”
You began to frown as she told you her story.
“Sorry, I’m not quite sure why I’m telling you all of this,”
“It’s okay, I don’t mind,”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah,” you said, then thought for a minute.
Before either of you said anything else, you made a decision and leaned in to wrap your arms around her in a hug.
It confused the both of you, she would normally back away and probably punch someone who did that, and you weren’t that much of a hugger in the first place, much less for someone you’ve known for less than 20 minutes.
Despite your shock, you stayed there, holding her close. She wasn’t sure why, but she wrapped her arms around you too, savoring the moment.
When the crowd around you erupted again at the score, you held her tighter, focusing on her breathing while trying to drown out the other noise.
You were smiling widely when you finally pulled apart,
“Can we take a picture?” You blurted out. “It’s just, I never thought I’d have fun going to a football game. You proved me wrong, and I’d like evidence to remember,”
She laughed, then nodded.
You eagerly pulled your phone out, leaning back into her again.
Her smile almost made your jaw drop, but you kept composed and kept your own smile while you took the picture.
“Thanks,” you told her.
“You’re in 8th period history, right?”
“Yeah,”
She let out a satisfied breath, then turned her attention back to the field as the final few seconds were on the clock.
“Well, I’ll see you in 8th period then, Y/N,” she told you.
“You’re not gonna watch the end?”
“It’s 56-0, I really don’t think it’s necessary,”
“Fair,”
You both chuckled for a moment before smiling at each other
“Bye, Natasha. See you!”
-
As you sat in the passenger seat of Carol’s car, you drowned out the voices of your friends and began to get lost in your own thoughts.
You rarely hugged anyone. You only hugged your friends on special occasions. You still weren’t sure why you hugged Natasha like that.
All you knew was that you wanted to hug her again.
You wanted to wrap your arms around her and feel her warmth as you buried your face in her neck. You wanted to feel her heartbeat against your chest as she pulled you close. You never wanted to let go.
“Y/N,” Peter said, breaking you out of your thoughts. “Who was that girl you were with?”
“Natasha,” you told him, trying to hide your smile.
“She seemed nice,” Wanda pointed out. You shrugged in response, trying so desperately to hide your blushing.
“I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of her, won’t we, Y/N?” Carol said as she faced you, giving you a knowing look.
At this point, you knew your cheeks were bright red.
“Hopefully.”
-
Your hopes and Carol’s prediction came true, to no surprise at all.
As you began to walk to the cafeteria, you were stopped by a redhead suddenly stepping in front of you in the hallway.
“Hi.”
“Hey,”
You shifted your gaze to the wall behind her, hoping to prevent the blood from rushing to your cheeks.
“I usually eat lunch in here. It’s a lot quieter than the cafeteria. Wanna join me?”
“Yeah, I’d love that,”
She grinned, then motioned for you to follow her back into the room she just came from.
Already in the room were two of the school guidance counselors; Fury and Hill.
“Hi,” you said to them awkwardly while Natasha pulled your seat out for you.
Both of them waved to you before turning back to each other.
“They’re old family friends,” Natasha explained to you. “They’ve helped my sister and me a lot,”
You nodded in response as she sat down across from you. Before saying anything else, she pulled out a bag containing a peanut butter sandwich.
“What do you normally do in here?” You asked her.
“There’s a lot of board games,” she said, gesturing to the cabinet. “Before my friend Clint graduated, we would always play and keep track of who had the most wins. Obviously I did,”
You laughed, looking at the games.
“I love that. So what do you do now that he’s graduated?”
She opened her mouth to reply, but Hill answered for her.
“She challenges us to games now,”
“Does she win?” You asked with a smirk.
Natasha almost looked offended as she began to eat her lunch.
“What do you wanna play?” She asked as you had started to eat yours.
You took a moment, looking at everything on the shelf.
“Chess?” You suggested. “I’m not very good, but I’ve been wanting to learn more about it,”
She smiled, then grabbed the chessboard and began setting it up.
You couldn’t help but notice how Fury and Hill whispered to each other every few minutes, glancing at you.
Once Natasha finished setting up the board, she placed it between the two of you.
She let you be have the white pieces, so you went first. Moving one of your pawns two spaces.
She mimicked your move with one of her own pawns.
You moved your knight, she moved her bishop.
You moved another pawn, she moved her knight.
After a few more moves, you took her rook.
“Yes!” You said, pulling your fists towards your body in celebration.
She gave an apologetic smile before using her knight to trap your queen in the spot of protecting your king.
Fury laughed as Hill handed him a five dollar bill. Despite the fact that she had made a really good move, Natasha glared at them.
You made a pouty face as you moved another piece towards your king, unable to move your queen out of the way.
The look you were giving her just made it even harder, but she took your queen anyway.
Soon enough, she had you in checkmate.
“Well, I did warn you that I’m not very good,” you told her, shrugging.
She tossed a grape into her mouth, shifting her position so she was sitting on her knees.
“Want one?” She asked, changing the subject.
When you nodded, she tossed one towards you, expecting you to catch it in your mouth the way she did.
Instead, it landed on your cheek, then bounced onto the floor.
She laughed, then tossed you another one. This time, it didn’t even hit your face at all before landing on the floor.
“Natasha, don’t waste any more grapes,” you said, laughing.
“Fine then,”
She pulled out another grape, but instead of tossing it, she leaned forward and held it out for you to take it right from her hand.
Just as you swallowed it, the bell rang.
“You girls will not be late on my watch. Get to class,” Fury said, earning a frown from both of you.
The two of you exited the room together, waving goodbye to the guidance counselors.
“So, I’ll see you in 8th period?” You asked.
“It’s tempting, now that I have a reason to look forward to that class. But considering that there’s a test today, I think I’m better off skipping that class,”
“Oh,” you’d be lying if you said you weren’t disappointed. “Don’t let Fury or Hill catch you,”
“Don’t worry about me,”
You grinned, then waved goodbye as the three-minute bell rang.
As the rest of the day went on, you had one thing on your mind; Natasha Romanoff.
-
When you got home, you still had butterflies thinking about her. In fact, you probably bombed your test because you couldn’t get Natasha out of your thoughts.
Even when Peter facetimed you, nothing he said was registering. You simply stared off at the wall, tuning his voice out.
“Y/N,” his voice finally registered.
“Yeah?”
“You didn’t answer my question, where were you at lunch today?”
“I was with Natasha,”
You angled the phone away from your face, knowing that there was no way you’d be able to hide your blushing.
“Wait really? Ooh, so when do we get to meet your girlfriend?”
“Shut up, she’s not my girlfriend. It’s been one day.”
-
Well, one day turned into two. Which turned into three, and of course that turned into four.
Now, you had been eating with Natasha every day for the past week.
“Think carefully, Y/N,” she told you as you stared at the chessboard.
You had been playing for around 10 minutes, and she had only taken two of your pawns, and one of your knights.
You grabbed your rook, and began to move it a few rows forwards.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,”
“How do I know you’re not trying to trick me?”
“I guess you don’t. But you did say that you wanted to learn chess, right? You could think of this as me giving you a lesson,”
You sighed, then nodded at her. She gave you a satisfied smile, then placed her hand over yours and moved your hand until it had moved the rook to the right spot.
“Now,” she said, smiling even wider. “You’ve trapped my knight. Your bishop is in the perfect place to attack it, but I only have one open spot. Now, your rook is covering that spot,”
You turned your head to the side, then looked at what she was showing you.
“Okay,” you said, returning her smile.
“Would you look at that,” Fury’s voice interrupted you. “She’s learning.”
-
Another week had passed, and just as before, you spent every day with Natasha during lunch.
Your friends knew, and they would sometimes look in at you guys, sending knowing smiles. You would shoo them away before they teased you. You knew they had good intentions though.
“Hey!” Natasha said, walking up to you in the hall.
“Nat!” You waved, meeting her halfway.
“You’re on your way to English, right?”
“Yep! But I wanted to ask you something?”
“Oh?”
“Well, I really like eating lunch and playing chess with you. But I thought maybe it’d be a fun idea if we went to the cafeteria and ate together today. Plus, I’d like to introduce you to my friends!”
She thought about it for a minute. Once she saw the way you were looking at her, she couldn’t say no.
“Okay,”
“Really? Yay! See you there!”
She noticed her heart flutter as you made your way to your next class. She wanted to deny it, but all she could think about was the way you smiled at her. Rather, the way you’ve been smiling at her.
She would never get tired of it.
-
“Nice to finally meet you,” Carol said to her, giving you a smirk.
“Nice to meet you too,” Natasha replied, waving at all three of them.
“Y/N’s told us about all your chess games at lunch!” Wanda told her, resulting in a blush from both you and Natasha.
“Hi,” was all Peter said as he sat down.
Natasha sat next to you at the table as you talked and ate with your friends.
She didn’t really care about what they were saying, so she tuned them out. She took a few bites of her food, but her eyes never left you.
You glanced over at her every few minutes, making eye contact and exchanging a smile before turning back to your friends.
“So what are you doing next weekend, Natasha?” Carol asked, snapping the redhead out of her thoughts.
“What?”
“Next weekend, what are you doing?”
“Oh. I hadn’t really thought about it if I’m being honest,”
Carol smirked at you, then at Natasha.
Next weekend was homecoming. You and your friends had agreed to go together if you couldn’t find dates. Carol of course, was in denial about pining over Maria Rambeau. You would most definitely be pressuring her into asking her later. Peter wasn’t interested in anyone at the moment, and Wanda was still in the process of getting over her breakup with Vision.
You had been fine with going with them, but you saw the way Carol kept looking between you and Natasha so you knew what she was thinking.
Before you could say anything, you were saved by the 10 minute bell. Even though you still had quite some time before class, you usually liked to get there early to avoid hallway traffic.
“I’ll walk you to class,” Natasha offered as you began to get up.
Feeling the butterflies appear in your stomach again, you waved goodbye to your friends and made your way into the hallway with Natasha at your side.
You noticed the way her pinky brushed against yours as you walked side by side.
“You okay?” She asked, noticing how red your face was.
You simply nodded, hoping you wouldn’t sweat from how nervous she was making you.
Natasha stopped for a moment, held her hand against your cheek (which made your heart race) then smiled.
You stood there like that for a few moments until someone bumped into you, pushing you out of Natasha’s reach.
You ended up against the lockers as the crowd of people began to overflow the hallway. Luckily, you happened to be right outside of your next class.
Natasha pushed her way against the incoming flow of people until she was next to you again. You weren’t even sure why she did that, considering you were going to history class, which you had together.
Once she was against the lockers too, she grabbed your wrist, and pulled you back into the hallway until you made it through the classroom doors.
You were breathing heavily at this point, but grateful to not be swamped by other people.
Natasha finally let go of your wrist, then sat down at the seat she had been sitting at for the past few weeks. There were technically no assigned seats in the class, so she had moved from where she usually sat so she could sit by you.
She got her homework out, which reminded you of the fact that it was due today.
“Shit,” you muttered, pulling out the sheet that only had two sentences written.
Natasha saw your panicked look, then pulled her phone out.
“Okay,” she said, nodding as she pretended to be on a call. She met your teacher’s eyes as she continued the fake call.
“I’m so, so sorry, Miss,” she said in an exasperated voice. “I need to get home immediately, it’s my mother. I can’t be picked up, and Y/N is the one who drove me here. I’ll call Ms. Hill later and have her excuse our absences, but we need to go,”
Your teacher sighed, but nodded her head at the redhead.
Natasha continued her worried expression towards the rest of the class, but winked at you as soon as she got out the door, you following close behind.
“Nat!” You scolded as she began walking to the parking lot. “What was that for?”
“Helping you avoid a zero on a major essay. You’re welcome, by the way,”
“Yeah, but we’re not actually gonna have an excused absence!”
“Sure we will. I’ll convince Fury,”
“And if you can’t?”
“Relax a bit, we’ll be fine,”
You sighed before realizing you were standing next to an unfamiliar bike.
“We might as well leave early since we can. Hop on,”
She pulled her keys out, then grabbed her helmet from her bag.
Taking a step closer to you, she carefully placed it on your head before smiling.
“What about you?” You asked as she sat in the driver’s seat, motioning for you to follow behind.
She shrugged,
“I’ll be fine,”
That didn’t stop you from letting out a disappointed sigh before you sat behind her.
“Hold on tight,” she said as she looked forward, which you rolled your eyes in response.
As if you needed to be told that.
You let out a squeal when she turned the engine on, squeezing your arms even tighter around her.
She chuckled, then looked back to make sure you were okay before exiting the parking lot.
You kept your eyes closed for at least the first three minutes of driving. You only opened them when you were stopped at a red light.
“Where are we going?”
“You’ll see,”
You huffed out another sigh as she began driving forward sometimes.
Of course this had to be the person you were hopelessly crushing on.
-
Natasha took you down a few roads until you reached the local part of town.
She parked the motorcycle, then began to lead you through the streets. You were still feeling nervous about missing class, but the majority of your nerves were coming from the way Natasha’s hand kept brushing up against yours.
She stopped once you were in front of an ice cream shop.
“We ditched class for ice cream?”
“No, we ditched class so you wouldn’t fail. Ice cream is just a nice bonus,”
You laughed, causing her to smile widely. She couldn’t deny her own butterflies at this point. She loved hearing you laugh, and it made her even happier knowing she was the reason for it.
She led you up to the counter, pulling her wallet out of her jacket as you looked through the options.
Your heart melted at how she insisted on paying, she went as far as glaring at you when you even started to touch your own money.
You got a single scoop of cookies and cream, while she got cherry vanilla. You exchanged another smile as you walked out of the shop, taking a few licks of your ice cream.
Instead of walking through the busy streets again, she led you behind the building away from everything.
At this point, you decided it was best not to question her. Which seemed to satisfy her as she led you to who knows where.
As it turns out, she was taking you to a secluded area with a few trees.
So naturally, she handed you her ice cream cone as she began to climb up the tree, stopping at a low branch. She took her cone back, along with yours, holding them both with one hand so she could use her other hand to reach out to you.
Once you sat next to her, you took your ice cream back, taking a few more licks while you sat there in silence.
You tried to calm yourself as you began to realize just how close she was to you. She seemed to notice this too, as she snaked her hand across her lap onto yours, placing it over your own hand.
That seemed to give you enough confidence to scoot closer to her, leaning your head onto her shoulder.
“Homecoming is stupid,” Natasha said, earning a nod from you. “Wanna go with me?”
-
You had been looking forward to it ever since she asked you. You still spent lunch with her, but you hadn’t held hands or done anything like that since that day.
Your friends were almost more excited than you. Wanda and Peter completely took over for dress shopping, wanting to get the perfect look for you. Meanwhile Carol, took it upon herself to tell you everything you should do with Natasha at the dance.
You had made an agreement for Natasha to pick you up at your house. And you made her promise not to pick you up with her motorcycle. There was no way in hell you would be riding a motorcycle in a dress, especially to homecoming.
So, she ended up showing up in a car. There was someone else in the backseat, a younger blonde girl. She looked out the window and waved at you as Natasha stepped out to greet you.
“Wow…” you said, looking at her dress. She looked absolutely perfect.
“Hi,” she breathed out, admiring what you were wearing.
“Hey,”
At this point, you knew your face was about as red as her hair.
“Are we ready to go?” You asked, breaking the silence again.
She nodded, then opened the passenger door for you.
“Hello!” Came the voice from the back. “I’ve heard all about you,”
“Hi!” You said, waving to her through the mirror.
“Y/N, this is my sister Yelena.”
“Hi, Yelena! Nice to meet you,”
“Yep, so wonderful that you’re here with us, Yelena,” Natasha said through gritted teeth as she backed out.
Yelena rolled her eyes, then leaned forward to talk to you.
“She needed my help stealing our Dad’s car out of the garage. I told her I’d only help her if she gave me a ride too,”
“You stole your dad’s car for this?”
Natasha shrugged sheepishly, keeping her eyes on the road.
You hated the fact that your heart melted at that. You did enjoy Yelena’s company, but like Natasha, you were starting to wish you were alone with her in the car.
“You know…” Yelena began. “I’ve noticed how happy Natasha has been lately. It’s nice to finally meet the reason for it,”
“Yelena,” Natasha whisper-yelled, feeling herself blushing again.
You couldn’t help but giggle as you admired the redhead you were so desperately crushing on.
Yelena’s knowing gaze switched between you and Natasha, she resisted the urge to make another comment the entire way to the school.
Once you arrived, Yelena got out of the car and walked in without another word, finally leaving you alone with Natasha.
You met her at the other end of the car, where she took a deep breath before interlacing her fingers with yours. You tried to slow your breathing, worried that your nervousness would cause your hand to get all sweaty while she was holding it.
As you made your way toward the entrance, she kept her gaze forward but never let go of your hand.
Even while standing in line, she kept her grip tight, but gave you a soft smile every few minutes.
Once you finally got through the line, she walked even closer to you as you walked to the crowded gym.
The music was loud, and there were people everywhere. It definitely wasn’t your scene. But, you were glad to be here with Natasha.
“Y/N!” Came the voices of your friends as they ran up from behind you.
“Hi!” You said, turning around to face them.
Carol smirked once she saw yours and Natasha’s hands, but said nothing. Peter grinned at the both of you, and Wanda gave you a friendly wink.
“Did you finally ask Maria out?” You asked Carol, who glared in response.
“Why not ask her to dance if you see her here?” Natasha suggested.
“Perfect timing,” you said as the music changed. “They’re doing a slow song right now!”
Carol sighed, then ultimately decided to take the advice as she left.
Before you knew it, Natasha had spun you around to face her.
She had her arms wrapped around your body as she began to sway to the song. You let out a few shaky breaths, but kept your grip on her firm.
You stared into her green eyes, and your nerves suddenly began to go away. Of course, you still had the butterflies from being like this with her, but the nerves caused by your surroundings had started to fade.
You were no longer anxious about all the people and music, it almost felt like they weren’t there in the first place.
All that mattered was the girl right in front of you.
“I have something to tell you,” you said, keeping eye contact. She nodded for you to continue, prompting you to take another deep breath. “I really really like you, Natasha. I’ve had feelings for people before, but it’s different with you. I don’t know what it is, but all I know is that I wanna be around you forever.”
She was now smiling wider than you’d ever seen. She leaned in close, your faces inches apart.
“I feel the same way, Y/N,” she said. “There was something about you from the moment we met. I’m not sure what it is either, but I wanna be around you forever too.”
Your heart did a backflip as she leaned in even closer.
Closer.
Closer.
Closer.
Holy shit you were kissing.
It was like nothing you’d ever experienced before, her lips moved softly against yours as she kept her arms around you. You moved your hands up, putting one against her cheek and running your hand through her hair with the other.
When you finally broke apart for air, you both still had the biggest smiles.
“I’m so glad I went to the football game that night,”
“Me too,”
It didn’t take long before your lips were reconnected. At this point, everything was completely drowned out. Natasha was the only thing on your mind as her tongue began to explore your mouth.
“Ladies,” a voice interrupted your moment.
Natasha glared at the teacher, but kept her arms tight around you, almost in a protective manner.
“While this is a dance, we have a firm rule here about public displays of affection. What I just witnessed was very much a violation of the rules.
Natasha rolled her eyes, then grabbed your hand once again. She led you through the crowd of people until you reached the door.
“Where are we going?” You asked.
“Well, apparently public displays of affection aren’t allowed. So how about private displays of affection instead?”
You grinned, then nodded as she led you back to her car.
“I can take us someplace,” she offered.
You didn’t care where you were, you just wanted to be with Natasha right here and now. You already missed the taste of her lips.
As you got back in the car, she only drove with one hand. The other was connected to yours. She brought your hand up to her mouth a few times, pressing a gentle kiss onto it.
Eventually, she drove you up to a hill, stopping at the top.
She lay down on the hood of the car, motioning for you to join.
Once you did, she wasted no time in kissing you again. You couldn’t get enough of her, and she couldn’t get enough of you.
“Thanks for making homecoming fun,” she said between kisses.
“Thank you,” you replied once she began to kiss your neck. “But I hope you don’t get in trouble for the car,”
“I think I’ll be fine. Besides, even if he finds out, I think he’ll be more understanding once he learns I did it for my girlfriend,”
“Girlfriend?”
“Is that okay?”
“More than okay.”
She grazed her lips against yours once more, unable to stop the smile forming on her face. She had never felt this happy with anyone before, and she couldn’t imagine herself being this happy with anyone except for you.
As much as you hated social events, you found that they worked out for you in the end. You were with the perfect girl, and happier than ever.
Eventually, you’d come to find out that your happiness would turn into forever. All because of Natasha Romanoff.

what are you doing, step bro? (sakusa x f. reader)
summary: To your parents, Sakusa was the greatest son. To you, he was the best big brother you could’ve ever asked for, but you could only find that out with a little force.

"(Y/N), this is your new big brother, Kiyoomi," your mother said, holding tightly onto your small shoulders as you stood in front of her.
"You can refer to him as your nii-san from now on." Locking eyes with you was an older boy with long black wavy hair, two moles on the right side of his forehead, and a white face mask on the lower half of his face which blocked his nose and mouth. How odd, you thought. You could tell he was disinterested with how his eyes were blank as he stared at you.
That was the first time meeting your step brother, Sakusa Kiyoomi.
Being four years younger than Sakusa, you two never really got along. Of course you had to respect each other, but there was nothing to really talk about other than when his volleyball games were or unfulfilling small talks. Sometimes he would make snide remarks, asking if you even showered when your hair was only slightly messy or if a smart word ever came out of your mouth when you stumbled over your words. Sometimes he was just mean to you in general to the point where you would cry. You always tried to ignore it, though. That was when you were younger. You couldn’t help that you weren’t that smart and he was your nii-san after all. Your parents would brush it off.
You celebrated his victories together, only because you had to. I mean, you were the younger sister of one of the nation's top three aces in high school volleyball. There was no way your parents wouldn't celebrate. He was their pride and joy.
Smart, athletic, incredibly attractive — everything you felt like you could never live up to.
Your own biological mom so obviously and painfully liked him more than you.
Before you even entered high school, Sakusa was old enough to move out and go to college where he continued to play volleyball. When he visited during the holidays, you still wouldn't have decent conversations with him. He would still insult you. It even made you cringe when you had to call him nii-san. Why address him as your older brother when he didn't even act like it?
But you dealt with it because you had to.
Fresh out of Itachiyama Academy, you're focused on studying for entrance exams for colleges in your area rather than what would happen if you ever had to see Sakusa again. But, you were expecting to see him very soon.
Gentle knocks are heard from outside your door and before you can respond, your mom is already opening it.
"(Y/N), Omi is coming today and he's gonna be here for a week. I have to go to the grocery store to buy food and I'm gonna run other errands so it's gonna take awhile," she says, leaning her head into your room. You respond multiple times with "okay" so she can leave your room sooner.
Textbooks and notebooks are strewn across your bed with you on your stomach, trying to cram as much information in your head as possible.
"That means I might not be here in time for when he comes, so you have to open the door and greet him," she adds.
"What about dad?" you ask with a grimace. The most you would do is say hello and scurry back into your room.
She rolls her eyes at you. "He's working late again. You know that, (Y/N)." With a sigh, you agree and she finally leaves your room after bidding you a "goodbye."
You can't remember the last time you saw Sakusa, but it was probably almost half a year ago. Ever since he left for college, your parents were even more distant towards you. They probably felt like they didn't need to worry about you because you weren't doing anything important.
When Sakusa came over, he barely acknowledged you and you were okay with that because it meant he wouldn't be bothering you.
But that didn't mean his blank stare wouldn't catch your attention whenever you came out of your room to eat or use the restroom. The atmosphere felt...very odd around him. You couldn't necessarily come up with a reason why.
Suddenly, you hear knocking on the front door. It had to be at least an hour or two since your mom left and the thought of who was waiting at the door made your stomach churn.
"Nii-san is here," you mutter to yourself as you got up to open the door. Right as you open the door, Sakusa was staring down at you with the same blankness in his eyes from before with his usual face mask. His hair was shorter than you remember.
Mindlessly, his eyes seem to scan your body before returning to your face, making you feel self-conscious. You were only wearing black spandex shorts and a loose tank top. Subconsciously, you rub your arm and step back to make space.
"(Y/N)," Sakusa acknowledges you in a deadpan voice. It's no surprise to you.
"Hi, onii-san. How are you?" You try so hard to be polite, but Sakusa seemed to have a naturally dominant energy that overwhelmed your senses, even if he also seemed to have the personality of a jar of mayonnaise. You step aside so he can come in. He wore gray sweatpants and a black windbreaker that was zipped up all the way. As soon as he makes it inside, he removes his face mask, stuffs it in his pocket, and starts unzipping his jacket.
"I'm good," he hums, "Where's mom?" He places the backpack he was carrying on the couch and takes a seat as you close the door.
"She's out doing errands and dad is working. Do you want some tea?"
"Yes, please. Make sure you wash your hands before you do. Thank you," he said. You walk into the kitchen, muttering "germaphobe" under your breath at his extra request. Unbeknownst to you, he watched you from his place on the couch as you walked around the kitchen, pulling the tea kettle out of one of the bottom cabinets and looking for cups. His gaze followed the outline of your ass in those tiny shorts that hugged your bottom tightly.
"What college are you planning on going to, (Y/N)?"
"I'm not sure yet, but I'm applying to the college you're going to and three others," you replied from your spot near the counter.
Sakusa actually perks up at your answer. "Oh, cool. You'll love it there if you get in. Only if, though. You're not the brightest."
You couldn't help but let your face fall in a frown at his seemingly small comment. Quickly, you compose yourself and brush off his remark. You got the water boiling in the tea kettle and reached high for the teacups that were sitting on the top cabinets. Your stepdad definitely put them up there.
A presence looms close behind you, which makes your whole body automatically freeze and tense up. A veiny, bulky arm reaches up easily to grab the teacups while another one snakes around you to pull your tank top down as it was exposing your stomach. You're not sure if you're imagining it, but you definitely feel something stiff brushing up against your back.
"You need to be careful. Don't wanna hurt yourself, do you?" Sakusa commented, leaning forward so his mouth was right next to your ear. A blush found its way onto your cheeks from feeling him so close to you.
He usually hated being so close to people. What was so different today?
"R-right," you stuttered, "Thank you, nii-san."
Confrontation wasn't a strong trait of yours.
You guess that moment was when it started getting really weird between you two. You still had small talks from whenever he would actually see you come out of your room, but you wanted to avoid him as much as you could. However, that was hard when Sakusa insisted that you drank tea together every night and, of course, your parents insisted, too.
Your nii-san wants to spend more time with you, they would say excitedly. Better late than never!
Maybe if he was showing the slightest bit of interest in you, your parents would finally care about you. So, with much hesitation, you started drinking tea with your step brother every night. Sakusa even made the tea himself so his poor little sister wouldn't tire herself out with carrying that heavy teapot.
You're still not sure if you're imagining things, but the tea tasted different from how you made it. And you swear that the tea didn't make you so sleepy after drinking it until he started making it.
"Come here," Sakusa would say with a smirk, "Onii-san will take you to bed."
You would pass out before you even made it to bed, but every morning you woke up with sticky thighs, only blaming it on sweating while you were sleeping.
Until one day, you didn't drink all the tea that he made you. You still fell asleep, though. Your brain was hazy enough to make you lose consciousness as he helped you up from your seat in the kitchen.
Sakusa laid next to you on your bed. You were placed on your side so he could slide under the sheets right behind you to press his hardened length against your ass. This was his favorite part of the night. He spent a few minutes playing with your cunt to make it slick enough for him to let his cock break through your walls.
You barely stirred awake. Didn't even move an inch as he caressed every part of your body, from your soft nipples to the sensitive nub between your thighs.
He pushed the elastic of his sweatpants down to his thighs quickly. His cock hit your ass before settling between your folds. A satisfied moan leaves his lips when he feels your wetness coating the top part of his shaft as he rubbed it against you. He hooked his arm around one of your legs so that you were spread open enough for him to fuck you and rub your clit at the same time with his other hand.
He wanted that sweet nectar completely coating his dick. He remembers the way you tasted and how you came on his tongue the night before, despite being blacked out from the little pills he would dissolve in your drinks. You tasted so clean and smelled so fresh. It was impossible for your nii-san to control himself around you.
And when did your ass look so good? God...Sakusa couldn't believe he never noticed how cute and well-shaped you were. You weren't that little girl he met when you were both kids. You were pushing adulthood now. Still pathetic looking, still too shy, still small around him, but fuck, he definitely would have pushed you over the counter the first day he came over and fucked you until you were crying and gagging.
He continued rubbing circles onto your clit and letting his cock soak up your juices. Gently, he positions the tip at your entrances and pushes in slowly.
"There you go," he whispers in your ear, "I know it's a little big. Don't worry."
He manages to fill you up all the way, making him groan. Your walls were tight around him. He thrusts in and out of you carefully, salvaging the feeling of your slick interior.
But you didn't drink all the tea, which means that you could wake up earlier than he expected.
Sakusa didn't expect you to wake up now.
You stirred slightly as you regained consciousness. Although your eyelids were heavy, you tried to force them open only to be met with darkness.
"Mmm," you croaked, rubbing your eyes. The odd feeling of being filled up suddenly made you wake up more. "W-what's going on?"
"Fuck," Sakusa muttered from behind you. You felt a hard chest pressed against your back and...a hand on your pussy. No, something inside your pussy. And that voice was so familiar.
You quickly whip your head around when the realization dawns on you. What the fuck is happening? While your eyes adjust to the dark room, you see two familiar eyes staring straight back at you. He stopped grinding his hips against you for a moment as if time stopped.
"...Nii-san?" you hesitated. His breathing was heavy and he stayed silent.
"Nii-san, what are you doing?" you asked in a panicked voice. You quickly tried to get up from your position, only to be held down by Sakusa’s muscular arms. His hand wrapped itself over your lips to prevent you from screaming.
“Be a good girl and stay quiet, (Y/N),” he whispered. A muffled scream tries to escape your lips. He continued to fuck you slowly, leaving a burning feeling in your walls. The same sore feeling that you would sometimes wake up to within the past few days.
For a moment, you pry his fingers off of your mouth. "I don't understand...Why are you...?" You yelped in surprise, horror, and pleasure as he delivered a sharp thrust from behind you. The smack of his hips against your bare ass made you cringe and feel so disgusted with yourself. Nii-san is actually inside me.
"My poor little sister," he chucked darkly. He suddenly wraps his arm around your knee tighter and forces your legs wide open, your knee almost touching your chest. Instead of putting his hand over your mouth to shut you up, he kneads your breast. His hands were so large.
"You think you can walk around the house looking like a little slut in those tiny shorts?" He stretches you open with his hard cock with slow, yet hard, thrusts. It left your mouth agape, but no sounds left your throat except for small squeaks that you couldn't hold back. "You stupid bitch. Just as dumb as I could remember. Fuck, you don't know how much I wanted to bend you over and fill you up with my cum like the stupid, desperate slut you are."
He was satisfied as you were barely fighting him. All you did was desperately search for something to hold onto and bite your lip because you were so scared. His words were painful. "Look at you. A waste of fucking space, only good as a fuck hole. Didn't even realize she was getting drugged and getting fucked every night because she's so fucking stupid."
Weak. That was all your brain was telling you, mocking you, as Sakusa didn't stop moving against you and insulting you. This wasn't the first time. It just so happened that this time you were able to wake up.
"I-I..." you stuttered, "I'll...I'll tell mom and dad." The sheets were gripped tightly between your fingers. "I'll tell them- mmmm...what nii-san has been doing to me..."
"If you tell mom and dad, they wouldn't even care," Sakusa said in a patronizing tone. The way his hand was caressing you made you wanna cry.
“They would!”
"Mom and dad don't even treat you like a daughter, (Y/N). When was the last time they told you they loved you?" Even if his question was rhetorical, your mind went completely blank. You can't recall a moment where they ever told you they loved you.
"B-but, this isn't right! You're not supposed to be doing this," you argued. It was a surprise that your mind wasn't completely clouded by how big his cock was and how his thrusts felt almost hateful.
"You think they would choose your side? You'd be ruining your own life. Maybe you'd ruin mine. And it'd be. All. Your. Fault." With each syllable, his movements became sharper. "You don't wanna betray your nii-san by saying something, do you?"
"You love your nii-san, right?"
You do. You love him so much, even if you tried to avoid him and he never said a single good thing to you in your whole damn life.
Because you have to love him.
You stopped gripping on the sheets to the point where your knuckles were turning ghostly white to brush away the tears rolling down your cheeks. Your body shook, from both crying because of Sakusa's painful words and how hard he was fucking you. The pleasure building up in your core was overwhelming you, making that intense feeling of having to pee forced out of you.
Hearing your sniffles and small cries, Sakusa pulls you even tighter against him, but doesn't stop his relentless thrusting. It turned him on even more. He pushes your hand to brush away your tears for you, like good big brothers should.
"It's okay, (Y/N). We both know mom and dad don't love you."
A loud cry erupted from your chest. Maybe if your parents cared about you, they'd be running to your room to save you the second you started crying. But, no. Sakusa was basking in the fact that you were hurting on the inside. After years of negligent silence, you were finally letting it all out.
"But nii-san loves you," he said with a smile.
Although his words seemed to stun your entire being, you manage to choke out a "What?" Like it was the first time someone ever told you that they love you.
His torturous thrusts almost distracted you. Fuck, why did it feel so good to have your step brother fucking you on your side like this?
"I love you." He sweetly grabs your face so you can turn your head to look at him. There was a pounding in your ears coming straight from your chest. A warm feeling spreads throughout your stomach.
"You...you love me, nii-san?"
"Of course I do." He was actually smiling at you, "If I didn't, would I be inside you right now?"
His face didn't seem so blank anymore. Sakusa never ever smiled at you. Hell, he never really smiled in general. Someone actually loved you. Holy shit. And he was even pounding away at your insides like you were a fuck doll.
Is that why he's so mean? Was he just trying to hide his feelings for you this whole time? You could die laughing right now. His cock felt so damn good rearranging your guts against your will yet you were struggling to accept it.
Your cheeks naturally puffed up in happiness as you smiled so brightly at him. The flip switched in your brain so easily. Without another word, Sakusa kissed you passionately, because he knew you would let him continue to ravage your body. Your hips began to buck from the pressure building up in your lower half and you starting pushing your hips towards him, welcoming his length inside you. It felt like you needed more of him. More of his love.
Love me.
"Nii-san," you gasped against his lips. His movements never faltered, which you figured was from his amazing athletic ability and stamina.
"Be a good little sister and cum on my cock," he coaxed. He could tell you were so close to cumming from how tightly your precious cunt was hugging his length and how you were squirming against him. You were both slick with sweat. As you started squirming more violently against him, Sakusa tightened his grip on you.
“I’m gonna cum,” you whined desperately, “Nii-san, I’m gonna cum!” You grabbed his arms and pushed your fingernails into his skin, making him hiss from the sudden pain. With a firm grip over your mouth, he muffles your screams. Satisfaction settled in your stomach as you exploded all over his cock. Your sweet juices trailed down your thighs onto the bedsheets.
As much as Sakusa wanted to, he couldn’t fill up your insides and see your hole dripping with his cum just yet. He quickly pulls out of you and lets his seed shoot onto the bare skin of your ass. The shock of your orgasm left your thighs trembling, your skin wet, and your eyes drooping.
“You’re the best little sister.”
You would’ve replied, but you could barely form any words as you lost consciousness again. When you woke up the next morning, you were fully dressed and cleaned up, with no stickiness between your thighs like how you used to wake up.
Sakusa actually cleaned you up this time. You felt your heart melt and butterflies fluttering in your stomach.
Everything seemed to go back to normal between you two, with the same small talks and not really seeing each other often, but he always had a knowing smirk on his face whenever he saw you.
Whenever his eyes would trail up your body to meet yours, you could feel a warmth in your stomach spread all throughout your body which forced you to look away quickly. Whenever he insulted you, you would feel your thighs press together. Whenever you caught yourself admiring his features when he replaced his face mask for a new one, you smiled softly to yourself.
When it was time for him to leave, you couldn’t help but let a few tears shed. He was all set to go, with his backpack on and his mask covering his face.
“Hey, don’t cry, (Y/N),” he cooed, wiping your tears away, “You know I won’t be gone forever.”
You sniffled, “I know. I just hate being here alone.” Well, not necessarily alone. You just hated being ignored and neglected just because you weren’t your brother.
“If you manage to get into my college, you can move in with me. How does that sound?” You instantly perk up and dry your tears with your shirt.
"Really?!” you asked with excitement. You imagine all the things you could do with your nii-san without your parents in the picture. You could go out together, hold hands, share kisses, just about anything. He could even fuck you whenever he wants.
These thoughts about your own step brother would've made you feel sick before.
But that was before you knew Sakusa loved you. Now, you couldn't help but ask your mom when the next time your nii-san would be coming to visit. While you were waiting for his next visit, you studied hard.
College would be so much fun with your nii-san with you!

Amy I love every take you have on reputation and your reimagined playlist and edits are so good. But I wondered if you’d ever done a track by track review of it? Would love to hear your thoughts on each song / what you’d change about it cause I feel like it has a lot of potential but with so many of the songs something let’s it down
PREFACE: I feel like this is going to be very surprising for the both of us given that I think my qualms with reputation lie with the album as a whole (its execution both musically and aesthetically, as well as the fandom’s perception of it) more than with the songs themselves. And one could argue that, by being a hater, I am denying myself enjoyment of the album etc. etc. and it isn’t Taylor’s fault that the album is not what I, personally, want it to be, so this is all very subjective. That being said: Let’s go!
…Ready For It? – This does kind of go off, there is no doubt about that, however, I find it kind of… cringe? Even though I don’t like using that word. There are some great lyrics in here (“Burton to this Taylor” helloooo), I really enjoy the “Baby let the games begin” chants, especially the “aahhs” near the end, and I do think it is a sick opener, however, I don’t think Taylor really sells the song? She delivers it in a way that leans into how “new” and “dark” this album is for her, but the song isn’t experimental enough for it to work imo, which is an issue I have with the whole album + its marketing and reception: It is a new sound and vibe for Taylor, but the album as a work of art isn’t all that out there (Trap beats? In 2017? Wow) and while yes, context and an artist’s journey are important when judging a record, the “I am doing something crazy and shocking!” vibes on an album that, musically, isn’t all that interesting, don’t work for me. It also is a ripoff of “Lang lebe der Tod” by Casper, which is not only a better song, but also a better critique of fame.
End Game – Biiig reputation, biiiig reputation! The song isn’t anything remarkable apart from that. I think it’s very basic and boring and that’s it.
I Did Something Bad – The tour version is so so much better, I would have loved these heavy chant-y industrial vibes for the whole album. I think IDSB works in how Taylor really leans into the persona here, it feels almost like a sister to Blank Space in that regard, although more honest and a lot sadder. It is interesting how Taylor, despite leaning into the “bad version” of herself, tries defending herself during the bridge (“They are burning all the witches even if you aren’t one” – implying that she isn’t one herself), which is emblematic of reputation’s struggle of being an album that is about learning to stop caring, while still… caring very much (understandable, given Taylor’s state at the time, but I am a bit bummed she still played it safe sonically on the album). I hate that the word “receipts” is used, but the song is a standout track for sure.
Don’t Blame Me – I hate the drug metaphors in this one <3 Idk, I am a bit concerned about the amount of drinking mentions in this album and this song is so... mhhh in that context. It is nice and epic to listen to but Hozier did it first I guess. It's not really giving what it's supposed to be giving.
Delicate – I really like this song. It is soft, gentle pop perfection. The placement of the tracklist is super weird, but I will look past it for now. Delicate is definitely one of Taylor’s best pop songs, I love the effect on her voice and the “pulse” the song has. (I am kind of blergh on her using “chill” simply because of personal preference, but the song as a whole is so rooted in its time – not in a bad way! – that it works. It feels like a very distinctly social media era love song, but not in a way where it will age badly, but in a way that really captures the energy of a time.)
LWYMMD – ok I have to say: I love this song. I know it’s weird on a musical level whatever whatever but I love how cooky and crazy and campy it is. I kind of wish Taylor would have made a whole album that was this level of “character” and intentionally over-the-top. I think this works perfectly. Which is exactly why I am bummed out she played it so safe. I think she should have made an intentionally bad and camp-y album.
So It Goes… - I have. No thoughts on this. It’s absolutely not doing it for me whatsoever.
Gorgeous – I spontaneously forgot this song exists bless. It is so basic and plain, it’s almost shocking. None of this works. It’s so clunky and lyrically boring, I remember being a lil worried when this single was released, because at the time Taylor was my favorite songwriter ever and I was shocked Miss “Dear John” also wrote this. Which is honestly true for a lot of thsi album, I consider it her weakest work lyrically.
Getaway Car – she is a queen! Probably the best song on the album, it has a very distinct vibe and energy, and the storytelling is immaculate. I love the slight 90s vibes and the drive the chorus has. Another one of Taylor’s best pop songs.
King Of My Heart – I don’t care for this. The production feels a bit clunky and off to me. I did love the video of her writing it on the electric guitar though!
Dancing With Our Hands Tied – One of the better songs on the album but I have fallen out of love with it recently. Something about the way her voice is edited/mixed feels strange, and even though I appreciate a good 90s beat, this ultimately isn’t for me. Lyrically it outsells a good 70% of this album.
Dress – Ahhh I like this! The secrecy, the yearning… *chef’s kiss*! It manages to feel vulnerable while still being very very sultry. This is honestly what it feels like to be horny for somebody who you also deeply care for as a person.
TIWWCHNT – another song that is arguably pretty awful but I LOVE. It’s so bonkers, but it just does it for me. I feel like I really love this album when it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Ironically, Taylor also sounds the angriest on this track.
CIWYW – aww… this is cute and I am happy for her. I am a defender of “trust him like a brother” because I feel like your partner making you feel as secure as your immediate family does (if you have a good relationship to them) is a good thing? The whole song is wholesome but ultimately nothing very special to me. Looove that you can hear her smile though, and the SNL performance is exquisite. EDIT: ok I just listened to this while typing and when it picks up in the 2ndverse… it do be getting to me!
New Year’s Day – Yea <3 this is so soft n sweet and aaaahh. I am not a fan of the repetition of “hold on to the memories…” and “Please don’t ever become a stranger…” but who cares when the rest of the song is this heartwarming. One of her best love songs imo, and, after having listened to the album as a whole again, an excellent closer. I have to admit the pacing of the album is very, very good, and I do appreciate the storytelling, however, it still feels underwhelming to me, both musically and lyrically. It doesn't really cut deep a lot of the time. It's just a lil... Boring?

Who Are You (and what will you become?)
1(you are here)| 2 | 3 | 4
Summary: “Over the years, I have found that blood means very little.”
The ice clicks against the glass almost inaudibly, condensation dripping down the side.
“So tell me, M. Wayne, why do you think I should even begin to consider you my father?” (all biodad bruce can be read as stand alone but are posted in chronological order)
__________________________________________________
At the tender age of nineteen, Marinette Dupain-Cheng has already become a jaded woman. It doesn’t shine through very often, hidden behind a carefully crafted facade of Parisian-brand carefree attractiveness and pigtailed youthfulness, but there exists, in Marinette, a certain bitterness.
“For a vigilante, you’re not very secretive,” Marinette remarks, keeping her tone measured, almost playful, so as not to draw attention to herself.
“Marinette.” Bruce inclines his head and allows the bartender to serve him a whiskey sour. He doesn’t drink alcohol because it alters his mental state in ways that are unpleasant, but ordering a drink helps him fit in, and with Marinette, the person he wants to talk to, right at his side, he can’t have his normal ginger ale substitute. “It’s good to see you.”
“Mmm.” She takes a sip of her French 75, playing up an interest that Bruce knows is a lie. “M. Wayne, you say that as though we’re familiar with each other.”
“Sabine and I were close,” he says.
Sabine is one of the few people who knew about his existence as Batman that didn’t live in Gotham. Many years ago, they were friends. Colleagues. (More.) Of course she told her daughter about who he was. How could she not have?
Sabine is-- she was--
“Close, you call it,” she says with mock awe, words slurring together. “Closer than close, really. Too close for comfort— at least, too close for you.”
When Bruce and Sabine’s paths crossed all those years ago, he was struggling trying to raise Dick. Sabine was equal parts a mother and a mentor to Dick in all the ways that Bruce couldn’t be. When she left for Paris so abruptly after the two of them parted ways, Dick didn’t take it very well. Even moreso when communications halted permanently. The fact that the radio silence coincided with Marinette’s birth is something only Bruce is privy to.
However awkwardly he and Sabine left off, it doesn’t change the facts. Bruce’s lips thin. “I’m here to offer you a home.”
Swirling her French, Marinette taps at her phone, swiping away at a few messages that she’s not interested in. “I’m nineteen and more than capable of taking care of myself. Though I suppose it stands to reason that it would be difficult for you to know that, what with how busy your extracurriculars keep you.”
“I’m not doubting your capabilities.” He’s looked into what Marinette has been up to over the past nineteen years of her life. He’s never been particularly concerned with her upbringing, not with a woman like Sabine at the helm of her childhood. Bruce was right not to be worried; Marinette has grown into a multi talented, extremely well connected entrepreneur based on her own hard work. Judging by the crowd that she runs with and the multiple charities that she supports both financially and with her own time, she will be a force to be reckoned with in a few years; Tim regularly extols the virtues of the brand MDC, and if he knew that he was sisters with the designer, he’d never stop raving about her. MDC is already being compared to the likes of Dior and Gabriel when they were first starting out. Her finances aren’t anything to scoff at, and at a few galas and charity parties that he’s had to entertain, anyone who's had the privilege to wear an MDC original talks about how sweet and kind the head designer is while complimenting the CEO’s business savvy.
Bruce has to admit that he’s impressed by how she manages to keep her identities separate. No one suspects the head designer to also be manning publicity and business.
He’s been watching her for the past day, and he has to say, for somebody whose parents just died, she carries herself with remarkable ease. If not for the red around her eyes and line of shots on the bartop, Bruce would believe that Tom and Sabine’s death didn’t phase her at all.
“There’s a but, isn’t there?” Marinette says bitterly.
She’s right in that assumption. As skillful as Marinette is in her field, she has no practical combat experience. A brief stint in fencing and martial arts but nothing beyond that. Even if she practiced martial arts for years, that wouldn’t be enough to convince Bruce to let her go off on her own. Martial arts as a hobby is an entirely different game than fighting for one’s life.
Marinette is simply not the kind of person who can face down a League member and come out of it alive.
“It’s for your safety.”
For the first time since entering the bar, Bruce sees a flash of true emotion cross Marinette’s eyes. It’s hard to see the color of her eyes in the dim lighting, but it’s impossible not to see Sabine in how her eyes narrow. Perhaps the dim lighting makes it easier to; in the light of day, Marinette’s eye color— it’s too similar to the shade he sees in the mirror.
“My safety? What about my parent’s safety?”
At that, Bruce internally cringes while keeping his face carefully blank. Tom and Sabine… their end wasn’t pretty. Not the most gruesome deaths he’s ever seen, but it was up there. Bruce never thought the League would do something as cruel as desecrating the corpses of the people they murdered. They may be assassins for hire, but most times, they do have some sort of morals.
The worst part about it is that their death is most likely a result of Sabine’s past relationship with him. Last month, a tabloid that drew comparisons between Marinette and Bruce. It didn’t take long for another person to dredge up pictures from when he was still with Sabine. Tom and Sabine didn’t have enemies well-off enough to hire the League. But Bruce? Bruce did.
“I’m not interested in any protection you have to offer me.” Marinette shakes her head. “Don’t worry. I’m not like you. I won’t become a vigilante out of rage or as a coping mechanism. I’m not going to go chasing after the League in a foolish pursuit of misguided justice.”
But Marinette doesn’t understand. She has a target on her back with her newfound association to him.
“I haven’t been active in your life--”
“Understatement of the year,” Marinette mutters.
“--but I’m not going to let you die when I can prevent it.”
Downing the rest of her French, she takes the Moscow Mule away from Bruce’s hands, eyeing the liquor up on display. She drinks the cold alcohol and revels in the burn that slides down her throat. Marinette swipes on one of the notifications she’s received on her phone in order to respond to it. “You’re a good man, Bruce. But your desire to protect me— what does it stem from? What do we have in common? Why would you use your time and effort on what’s essentially a stranger?”
Bruce has no good answer for this, but he has an obvious one. As soon as it leaves his tongue, it feels wrong. “We share the same blood.”
He can’t bring himself to call Marinette his daughter. That means that he would be her father and he’s not deserving of that title.
Marinette pockets her phone, eyes trained on a set of unusually shaped glasses on the shelves. “If that’s your answer, M. Wayne, let me tell you something. Over the years, I have found that blood means very little.”
The bartender comes around and tops off the whiskey sour. The ice clicks against the glass almost inaudibly, condensation dripping down the side. Bruce can’t tell whether the bartender knows Marinette or not, but he certainly looks concerned enough to, with how his eyes shift between Marinette and himself rapid fire. When the bartender’s gaze settles on Bruce, mouth turned downward, clearly suspicious of his presence, Marinette just waves him off with a gentle smile.
Her smile turns up the same way Tom’s did. She’s right; family is more than blood.
“Your answer to why you want to protect me is that we share blood, but you speak nothing of our relationship. Shouldn’t that have been the first thing you brought up?”
Bruce shifts uncomfortably on the bar stool. Marinette just laughs at his apparent awkwardness. “Talking of blood relations seems to be something you don’t enjoy, and yet the entire premise of your protection rests on it. Tell me, M. Wayne, do you think I should even begin to consider you my father?”
Even as inebriated as Marinette must be, she brings up points that he himself wondered on his way to Paris. Wanting to see Marinette safe goes beyond a simple duty to morality and virtue. Though Bruce is known for adopting kids with tragic backstories, it simply isn’t feasible to adopt every single one he comes across. To bring Marinette into his family at this age, to expose her to the life he lives would be beyond cruel. In essence he’d be replacing two parents with a ticking time bomb: himself.
“Don’t consider me a parent, just a guardian. It’s in my best interest to see you safe, and the best way to do that is to have you move to Gotham, where my colleagues and I can assure you around the clock protection.”
At first, he distanced himself from Sabine and Marinette because he didn’t want to disrupt her current relationship with Tom. Even if the two of them insisted that he could still be part of Marinette’s life, it just didn’t feel right to have the title of father when he wasn’t the one to put in any of the hard work. Then, as Tom and Sabine grew more comfortable in their life together, settled down and opened up a bakery, he was blindsided by Jason’s death. As his daughter grew older and older, there were just too many things in his own life for him to ever hope to kindle a relationship with Marinette.
Marinette laughs, but it’s really more of a bark. Her voice is too hoarse for it to come out any other way. Bruce can’t imagine how much she’s cried this past week. “If you wanted to keep me safe, where were you a week ago? Where were you two years ago? Where were you when I was thirteen? M. Wayne, I’ve heard a lot of rumors about you throughout the years, and I’ve always brushed them off as nothing more than tabloid gossip. But perhaps they got one thing right about you: you’re a liar.”
Marinette stands, swaying slightly.
“This— if you truly want me to uproot my life, I need more than you saying it’s in your best interest. I need—” Marinette reaches up to her earrings and allows her eyes to flutter shut. She needs more than a distant guardian. She needs someone to confide in. Someone she trusts. “It was nice meeting you, but I don’t need your pity. Not now.”
As she weaves through the crowd, Bruce can’t help but wonder whether he made the right decision all those years ago to not be apart of her life.
@biodad-bruce-month
Late to the game as always. This will be a multichapter fic but all parts can be read as one shots (and also as always anything posted to tumblr is never checked for accuracy and stuff so whoop)! They’ll be released in chronological order. If you want to get tagged in all things maribat, instead of commenting it under a fic, I’d appreciate an ask or a dm instead! I haven’t been able to go back through all the previous comments and create a taglist yet but perhaps. eventually.

I dropped my bag in the passager seat as I raced to Sarah’s side, letting my hands grab the box that was slowly slipping from the top of the pile in her hands.
“Oh thank God- (Y/N)!”
I smiled, taking my place beside Sarah as we walked to an open table that had a few men from the docks I remembered from years of coming by.
“You know, gravity is still a thing, and what you were trying to do is damn near impossible,” I placed the box on the table and let my arms wrap around her shoulders tightly.
“Don’t you go talking about impossible, you managed to keep this place in check for five years with no help,” Sarah pulled back, taking my face in her hands while she quickly looked me over. I rolled my eyes but felt the pride swell in my chest.
The five years within the blip was hard, very clearly, but I and two other boat owners managed to keep the place in tack until everyone came back from God knows where.
“I’ve missed you.”
Sarah smiled, her eyes twinkling in the sunlight while it beat down on us in the Louisiana air. It would’ve close to perfect if it wasn’t for the strong scent of fish and men yelling over boats, but it was just like it had always been. My family debating with the Wilson’s over who made better sweet tea while Sam and I would throw sweet potatoes at one another, it wasn’t a fun game but a game nonetheless.
“I’ve missed you more,” Sarah pulled me back once more before the roar of an engine dragged us from our sweet moment. I looked up, seeing the tail lights of a truck I haven’t seen in years flash us as it came down the dirt path.
“Sam’s here?”
“Apparently,” Sarah placed a hand on her hip, her sisterly glare still in tack after all these years as Sam’s truck parked and the door swung open.
I wasn’t prepared to see him in all his ‘superhero’ glory, but I suppose I never would be as his smile was brighter than ever. He hugged an old family friend, his arms wrapping around them like a warm blanket on a cold evening and I wondered how I haven’t thought about him in so long. How had I forgotten his remarks and his checky little laugh?
“There she is!”
I considered running around the tent that had been set up and hiding until I could safely run to my car but I heard one of Sarah’s boys yell out my name and suddenly most eyes were on me.
“There is my favorite boy!”
I leaned down to hug him, I wanted to run and hide but I wasn’t going to ignore him, the price of love.
“(Y/N)?”
I cringed, holding on to the boy in front of me a little tighter before he let go running to his uncle. A goofy smile was on his face as to he almost fell running but Sam only smiled, looking me over once, before his nephew gained his attention.
I could count it outright, make a run for it maybe and never have to see the boy how I almost waited for once he joins the Air Force.
“Will you help me?”
I turned around, an older man struggling with some boxes and he couldn’t move them all. I sighed, walking over with my best smiling and sliding the box with the older man while we made it to his ship. Once we were done he gave me a large smile and handed me a five-dollar bill, when I tried to give it back he refused.
I spun on my heels, frowning when I spotted Sam walking in my direction.
I could’ve made a run for it, I know I could’ve made it.
“(Y/N), what are you doing here?”
“I could ask the same thing, Sam,” his name felt foreign on my tongue, let a broken promise that I refused to speak of, that’s exactly what he was.
“Well, I came to see Sarah!”
He still had the gentle charisma he had as a kid, his goofy bright smile that ran in the family, and his perfect brown eyes you never want to stop looking into.
“Well, great minds think alike,” I rocked back and front, wondering how we went from everything to nothing without barely a letter in between.
“Yeah, yeah I suppose.”
The awkward silence felt like too much as I watched his brows crease and his eye scans me up and down like an unknown force. Is this really what we had become?
“Still living in the farmhouse?”
“No, I got my own place now,” I wondered did I mention it wasn’t far from Sarah’s place so I could help out with the kids, but when his name was being called I decided not to say a word.
“Coming! Are you bust tonight?” Sam’s finger almost hit my chest as he waited, his leg bouncing, for my answer.
“Y-yeah-”
“Great, let’s get dinner!”
I didn’t have time to come up with a sad excuse before he was jogging away, falling into conversation with his sister as if nothing had ever happened to begin with. As if he didn’t asl his high school sweetheart to dinner years later.
I should’ve stayed home.
Tumblr media
I walked through the door of the old restaurant, Sam didn’t have to tell me where he wanted to eat as it was ‘our place’ when we were kids. I spotted him in a booth not far from the large window, a dark blue turtle neck that made him look more handsome than I ever remembered him.
I slowly went around tables and chairs, careful not to fall as I found my way to the other side of him. As soon as his head lifted I knew I was done for it, the glitter in his brown eyes and his perfect smile was the same it had always been.
“You came,” his voice was light and airy as he watched me slip in across from him, his hand almost reaching across the table but he stopped and grabbed a napkin instead.
“You know I wouldn’t pass up free food.”
“Who said it was free?”
I felt the laugh boil over, the carefree demeanor r he always had run through me easily as he watched me like old times.
“So, how’s everything been here? I haven’t seen you since,” his words trailed off and we both knew what he was going to say.
The Air Force ripped our relationship apart before we even realized it had even begun, but I suppose it always seems to go that way.
“Been good, the blip was hard on everyone but I managed to pull it off,” I played with a loose thread, my fingers finding safety in the repeating motions.
“Yeah, yeah I get it.”
I was scared the silence would come back, the awkward pain of watching someone who knew me inside and out forget how to even speak to me.
“I order you a lemonade, I know it was always your favorite.”
Suddenly I was in junior year, laughing with Sam about my math grade and the joke Sam made with the football team. How could he do it?
“Still is, I’ve never been good with change.”
“Oh I know, trust me,” he wiggled his eyebrows in my direction as the waitress left the drinks on the table and hurried off, most likely to ask her co-workers if that who she thought it was.
“So, Avenger?”
“Don’t start with him,” he rolled his eyes, the straw stuck between his lips as he gave me a pleading look.
“I thought you were staying in D.C. and suddenly your sister is calling me that you’re on T.V.!”
“When Cap says help, you help,” he set his drink beside mine, his head resting on his shoulder and his eyes burned into my skin.
“I suppose,” I trailed off, smiling when I noticed him smirking under his arm.
“What now?”
“Remember when I told you we have something special?”
I felt like a stuttering mess and I search from the right word, trying to figure out where to go from here. How do I turn back now?
“Yeah, um, freshman year,” I took the straw between my teeth and let the cold lemonade rush down my throat that was suddenly dry.
“I was really bold back them, huh?”
“Yeah, never knew when to shut up,” I smirked with the straw between my lips as he rolled his eyes. Did anything ever change? Was I still ‘his girl’ or was I just a girl?
“I can’t believe you actually agreed, I ran into Sarah’s room after and just talked about you for hours.”
My heart was slamming against my chest, the feeling that I felt as a kid was definitely still there as he smiled at me with this wondrous look in his eye.
“Sarah probably wanted to kill you.”
“Nah, she loved it when I gushed about you. Called us soulmates,” he shrugged, waiting for me to fill in after but I had no words anymore.
“Too bad, huh?”
“What’s too bad?” Sam’s arms reached across the table, his fingers inches from mine as he looked up from under his eyelashes at me.
“We weren’t,” I paused, “Soulmates I mean.”
Silence, that’s all I heard as the waitress came back and placed two plates in front of us. I opened my mouth, ready to tell her we hadn’t ordered, but I was left speechless as I looked down at the place.
A plate of Mac and Cheese sat in front of me, just like when Sam would make me when I was sad in high school. He could never make anything else and I never had the heart to tell him I wasn’t a huge fan, but by graduation, it was my comfort food.
“Mac and Cheese?”
The waitress was skipping away, my doubt following her as I looked up to Sam’s face. His eyes were wide as they waited for me, his nerves clear as day.
“I know how much you liked it-”
“I didn’t,” I felt my smile slowly find its way to my lips, “not until you made it for me.”
“Really? You let me make you mac and cheese all that time and you didn’t even like it?’
I shrugged, smiling like a psycho as I waited to find the right words. I wasn’t letting him walk out of this restaurant without me this time.
“You must have really loved me.”
“I do,” I finally looked him directly in the eye, surprise when the gentle sparkle of them made me sink farther into the seat.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” I grabbed my fork, smiling when his hand laid on top of mine.
“Should’ve told me before I made a fool of myself.”
“You’d still do that somehow.”
Bless this town for bringing him back to me.

The Office: Jeon Jungkook
Tumblr media
                                     ●╭╮╭╮╭╮╭╮╭╮╭╮╭╮●
Your annual office party swiftly approaches and it’s yet
another excuse for you and Jungkook to get piss drunk.
Everyone’s laughing until the tequila comes out.
                                    ●╰╯╰╯╰╯╰╯╰╯╰╯╰╯●
Warnings: excessive drinking, hot best friend jungkook, light smut, huge sexual tension, swearing as always, flirtation, mentions and overconsumption of alcohol, procrastination, jealousy,  finger sucking, tit kissing, hair pulling, one helluva makeout.
Jungkook and I were the bitchiest assholes in the office.
We had a daily schedule.
9:47 am struck and our boss swayed hungover into the room, a pillow, a small bottle of whiskey and a large coffee visible on his desk behind him. He looked like shit but I couldn't complain, it was great having a young sociable boss that doesn't really give a crap as long as you meet your deadlines.
"Right uh, do the financial- algorithm business...yeah."
That office door closed and suddenly it was a different world. Tabs were changed to YouTube, heels were taken off and slippers put on, chocolate bars and travel bottles of vodka came out of desk drawers and my darling partner in crime Jungkook rolled next to me in his chair until he crashed into mine.
"So, what do we think? Good or bad?"
Jungkook uses the tip of his pen to gesture to Lindsay and Juwon eyeing each other up awkwardly on opposite sides of the room. Juwon had teary eyes full of shame while Lindsay looked around for the escape routes just in case. Ouch.
We liked to play the game of who in the office has slept with each other and it seemed that last night we had some new contenders. You'd be surprised how often we got to play it.
"Tragic, he just couldn't get it up," I shake my head at the sight, not envying Lindsay for the longing looks being sent her way but also the embarrassment of Juwon's existence.
"Poor bastard. I was rooting for them too."
I reach for my coffee, toasting to the failed love affair with my boob mug.
"That'll teach them to never dip your nib in the office ink."
"Amen sister," Jungkook grabs his penis mug and we clink to the two before taking a rather large gulp of coffee.
"New subject. Annual Office party. Are we in or are we out?" I ask hesitantly, Jungkook swivels around to me.
The annual office party was a little event in a fancy hotel with an open bar to celebrate whatever it was we did here. It had lots of gossiping and many drunk depressed middle-aged coworkers that do stupid shit and try to fuck anyone and everything. The nicknames were priceless though. We still haven't forgotten poor Plant pot Ken or Doorbell Deb. She flashed the pizza gu-
"Of course," he scoffed as if we were invited to the most prestigious event in the world "But this time we're doing pre's cause last year I was way too sober when Kwan got his ass out."
He shudders at the memory. But, I wasn't sure why it was the singular memory. Kwan gets his ass out every year. Nothing else. Just the ass.
"Like a reoccurring nightmare."
I laugh at his dramatics drifting off to wonder what I did in a previous life to have a friend like Jungkook. Cringe. We did a lot of binge drinking on the weekends but we managed to master the art form of doing absolutely nothing, making it look like something and getting paid for it. We also had irresponsible spending in common hence the twenty million themed mugs we had for each other in the kitchen. The boob and penis mugs were my favourite though.
Sure the comments and whispers about us at work got a little annoying but most of the time we acted up to them. Every time a rumour about us fucking in secret got around we'd fake orgasms until the person walked away humiliated and red or even if people imagined us living together we'd act out our transatlantic 1950s married couple fantasy.
"Pass me a pringle dear," he holds out his hand and I grab a stack of Pringles and put them in his hand.
It's not something we spoke about often but we both had this mutual acknowledgement that we just didn't think about each other that way.
I wouldn't be strongly opposed because listen Jungkook is crazy attractive. He's the kind of guy you immediately hate for no reason because he's just too perfect. He's good looking, stupidly funny, confident, sweet when he wants to be, shy when he wants to be, competitive and good at everything. But he's a bit of a non-committal. I tried to set him up with some friends from my college days but it just didn't work out.
"Yes, honey. Next, you'll be asking me to make you a sandwich," I roll my eyes shoving a pringle into my mouth within seconds.
I liked everything just as it was.
Alone and only slightly afraid.
"Ooh, in triangles please!"
────── 〔✿〕──────
It was approximately 19:56 on that Winter Friday evening when I walked into the grand hotel, the fresh crisp air of the night hitting my exposed back with an icy chill. It took me too long to get ready but the words 'open bar' kept me motivated until the very end.
"Your coat miss?"
A very young man took my long winter coat which I was sure to lose by the end of the night despite it being my favourite. I flushed at the treatment and his lingering gaze before scanning the lobby for the man, our annual rendezvous.
"You are so sexy," a husky voice and soft lips tickle the base of my neck as a warm hand rests on the bare skin of my exposed lower back.
I snort nudging him away playfully with slightly reddened cheeks.
"But there's something missing," he mumbles and places a fine gold beaded chain around my neck.
He was right and I didn't even know it, in the mirror the green of the dress and the dainty gold match perfectly. I look down at the low neckline of my dress and the elegant pendant draws attention to it successfully. Tonight would be fun.
"Jungkook. I don't know what to say," I stuttered flushing, he always got me things but this was easily the most expensive, most meaningful, most beautiful.
"Then don't say anything and instead tell me how hot I look."
Damn. Of course, he looked amazing. An all-black suit clung to his body as if it was made for him with a black patterned tie and a silver chain. Fuck even his hair was perfect, windswept and relaxed across his forehead.
Damn him.
"Work it baby work it. Give me a twirl," I whistle mouth-drying at the muscle bulging under his tight suit everywhere I looked.
He twirled suavely, biting his lip before holding out his arm for me. What a gentleman.
"Come on let's get this shit show over with."
────── 〔✿〕──────
Two hours, 6 cocktails, 2 beers and 3 shots later Jungkook and I were just drunk enough to make everyone uncomfortable.
Kwan had got his ass out twice and Plant Pot Ken had found two fancy plant pots to ruin in the time it took us to start slurring and swaying. Doorbell Deb was clearly miserable at the lack of doorbells to run to and pizza guys to harass.
We sat at the bar, legs crossed into each other, slipping off the barstools every now and then, laughing obnoxiously at everyone without shame and glaring at anyone who tried to approach us until they left. My heels were laying on the ground somewhere, his jacket on someone's chair, tie undone and sleeves rolled up exposing his usually hidden tattoos and thick forearms.
But it wasn't as if I was looking.
"Hey! Hey! Look!" I slapped his arm frantically as he tried to sip his beer, heavy eyes searching for the thing I was lazily pointing out in the distance.
"Oh shit!" he laughed straightening up as we watched Lindsay and Juwon the sequel unfold in front of us, particularly on top of the buffet table.
On top of the food.
"Now that's hot," I scrunched my nose at the sloppy kiss, his tongue helicopter propelling into her mouth at an abnormal speed. What on earth was he thinking? What on earth was she thinking?
Why on top of the sausage rolls?
I could practically see the marks his desperate hands were leaving on her tits from here.
Jungkook was pretty tipsy and so was I, used to sipping alcohol like it was water several times a week with each other. But, apparently not drunk enough as his smooth order of two tequila shots almost threw me off my stool.
"Are you suicidal?" I laughed in slow motion watching him sway already and the night was still young. "We need to slow down if we wanna make it to the karaoke bar later."
"No no no," he places the drinks, lime and salt in front of us while shaking his head excessively "there is no making it tonight baby I'll carry you if I have to. The night is young and so are we!"
Why was that hot?
He yells the last part out to no one in particular, raising his arms making a few heads turn to cheer drunkenly with him like a frat despite having no idea what's going on. I shake my head at him, smirking at his influence over me. Tequila shots with Jungkook only meant one thing; body shots.
"You horny bastard."
He winks "You know it. Now, come here."
He pulls my stool forward until my legs slot inside of his. Jungkook's deep hum against my skin makes my legs feel a little number than the alcohol would allow. He scans the skin from my neck down to the deep neckline of my dress. He smirks devilishly as he licks his lips and before I knew it, lime was dripping cold in between my tits, running down my skin like the trace of his finger and sticking down some salt.
There's time to talk him out of this.
I could just move-
Before you could say 'mistake' his tongue licked a long trail deep between my tits, lips lingering on my cleavage rudely and moving around with more intention than just a shot. He kissed over to the skin of my breasts, looking up at me daringly as if he even needed to ask for permission.
I hold back a gasp, forming a lump in my dried throat and I can feel myself redden as he licks the salt from my skin. Pulling back, Jungkook's tongue continues to tease me without even touching me as he gathers the remaining traces of salt and lime from his lips and knocks back the shot.
I couldn't stop gawking.
When he's done he chuckles boyishly as if he hadn't just licked and kissed my tits in public and nods impatiently to my drink, still full and waiting on the sticky bar.
I was hesitant because something was happening- something hasn't really happened before. Even my drunk ass knew this was probably a mistake but the rest of me was pounding with desire.
Almost twice a week I was getting blackout drunk with Jungkook to the point where we wake up in an abandoned shopping trolley, have to carry each other home, literally piss ourselves laughing in the streets or spend so much we'd have 17 missed calls from our banks by morning. And, in all these times never have I ever wanted to jump Jungkook like this.
Not this bad. Not so bad my thighs were glistening with anticipation and my eyes couldn't pull away from the tiny traces of skin his outfit was showing.
I chew on my red-stained lip. Looking between the shot and the tall drink of water locking me in with his thighs. Another gulp.
I can't think. Don't think just do. Jungkook and I could do anything and laugh it off it wasn't a big deal right? I've shared a bathroom stall with this guy. I saw his nudes. He knows what brand of tampons I really use.
So, how could he know everything I had inside me was rushing down to my underwear if I didn't tell him? How would he ever find out this was the single most suggestive moment of my life? That I would sell my soul for just one kiss.
Fuck it.
I took his hand away from his thigh his eyes following my every move eagerly and seemingly enjoying how our coworkers had no idea and were too lost in the thumping bass on the dark dancefloor to gossip. Now he was the prey.
It was my turn.
I grabbed my first slice of lime, basically jacking off his index finger with it until it was coated nicely and dipped it in the plate of salt. His hand was completely limp, spaghetti-like in the way it submitted so easily to my movements.
I could even just slip it under my dre-
I wrapped my lips fully around his finger sucking all the way down and dragging my tongue with them.
Oh, this was the ticket.
"Woah now..."
His chest was harder and responsive, pupils fucked out, lips twitching and bulge swelling as I slowly licked my way back up it. The way he stuttered whatever he was thinking about saying before I enveloped his muscled fingers again despite nothing left on it made my thighs press together and my heart want to leap out of my chest and onto the bar.
If only he knew how hard I was throbbing.
I drank the tequila, wincing at the alcohol fumes that stung my nose and placed the second lime wedge in between his lips. Fuck he looked so good submissive. His brows jumped and his chest hardened as I leaned forward grabbing him by the collar of his shirt, never once breaking eye contact.
Silent groans as my knees rubbed against his inner thighs as I leaned in. I thought I had the upper hand, I thought the hard nipples stabbing through his shirt and the flushes meant I won. But, there was a smirk dancing around in his eyes and I caught it just before I closed mine.
As I reached out to suck the lime, I didn't see him open his mouth making the wedge drop to the marble floor beneath us. I realised too late, jumping and moaning in surprise when I felt silky lips waiting impatiently for me and not a sharp lime.
He tasted faintly of lime and it was bittersweet. My liquid courage arched my back as he gripped my waist and preserved no energy by easing into the kiss. We fought against each other, tongues entangling in a smoother sexier way than the make-outs of our tragic coworkers. The kiss screamed the sexual tension that had been unknowingly building this entire time and his forceful hand sliding me from my stool onto his lap screamed fuck me.
I pulled his hair wanting to hear the noises he would make. I didn't care where we were I just needed him. I needed something. But, I couldn't possibly hold him any closer.
Would his barstool hold the weight of both of us if I pounced?
Would anyone really notice if he pinned me onto the bar and fucked me here?
Jungkook's fist finds the root of my ruined hair and pulls until I'm whimpering to the chandelier above us and his dirty thoughts moan out against my neck.
"Fuck, are we really doing this?" I breathed in the recovery time but his touch was still killing me off.
He kisses my jaw, giving my swollen lips a rest and mumbles against it.
"Get your jacket. You're coming with me."

come on, weasley.
a fred weasley x reader bulleted imagine wherein the reader takes the red-head to a muggle nightclub and shows him the way to have fun without any magic involved.
WARNING: mentions of alcohol, a bit of grinding and hinting of smut (no nasty nasty winkwonk)
A/N: i had this idea a few months ago and this has been long overdue but the inspiration kicked in again after listening to a few classic party songs. wrote this song while listening to cobra starship’s you make me feel & rihanna’s s&m
Tumblr media
---
okay so let’s be real, being a half-blood meant so much more to you because well,, , you get the best of both worlds.
a muggle mother who’s very fascinated with the wizarding world and a magical father??
darling your childhood was the definition of fun
you had quidditch with your father during saturdays and had the whole sunday to wander around muggle london with your mother (or the other way around)
you have an older sister who sadly didn’t get to inherit any magical powers
but she paid no mind to that and enjoyed the muggle world.
and of course after all that you’ve experienced at hogwarts, your sister wanted to show you what you missed out on.
of course, includes parties.
that comes in handy when your boyfriend is a pure-blooded wizard who didn’t know a smack about how muggles work.
you love fred weasley immensely
yet his innocence when it comes to your own technology makes you laugh everytime.
“what on earth is that?”
“freddie, my sweet little innocent wizard, that there is a playstation.”
“what does it do?”
bless his heart-
ANYWAYS
it was a thursday night when you recieved a phone call from your sister
“hey i’m going to this nightclub tomorrow, would you and your wizard boyfriend want to tag along?”
you stared at your ginger boy who was still trying to figure out how to play mario kart
srsly bless is innocent heart im crying
“see you tomorrow night then.”
you jumped on the couch next to the male which broke him from his focus
which led to him being 5th place once again
he looks at you with furrowed eyebrows
“what?”
“you made me lose, baby!”
“i apologize freddie. *insert apology kiss here* anyways, we’ll be going out tomorrow night”
“i think i deserve more kisses- wait what? what’s going on tomorrow?”
“i’m showing you how we, muggles, have fun during a friday night.”
and that’s how you ended up pulling fred along the pavement towards a nightclub in central london
“how can you run in those high shoes, y/n?’
“it’s a pain honestly but it puts the look together. now are you ready?”
he simply nodded, eyes looking over the neon lights that had the name of the nightclub.
the both of you bumped into your sister and her date
“finally the both of you arrived, let’s have some fun!”
you held on to your boyfriends hand tightly, squeezing it gently.
“ready, fred?”
“ready as i’ll ever be, i reckon.”
with a simple wink, the bouncer let the four of you enter.
fred immediately winced at how loud the music was, not used to the bass jumping though the walls
“is it always this loud in here?!” fred said-wellhonestlyheshouted-into your ear, which you gave him a quick nod.
“are you ready to have some fun?!”
“definitely!”
and that’s your cue to pull him over to the bar and grab a few shots before heading over to the dancefloor
“a tray of vodka for us, please”
you had the honor of teaching fred how to “pre-game” before a night out
so the alcohol was coursing through the both of you.
your drinks soon arrived and you motioned him to take a shot
after taking the swig he looked at you and cringed a bit as he bit on the lime
“definitely stronger than firewhiskey, am i right?”
as lady gaga’s just dance started to fade, cobra starship’s you make me feel good started to play
“oh my god i love this song! c’mon fred, let’s dance!”
fine taste in music, y/n. i applaud you
you tugged at his hand and he slowly gave in
he followed you to the sea of people on the dancefloor
you started moving along the beat, you stared at him with a bright smile
maybe it was the alcohol that gave you this sudden surge of confidence
but as the chorus neared you started to sing along
“...i’m the baddest baby in the atmosphere, tell me what you want so we could do just what you like”
“yOU MAKE ME FEEL THAT”
you sang along with the crowd as they started jumping around, dancing along
and as much as fred would love to join
he was staring at you in awe
at how sexy you are with your cheeks slightly flushed from the alcohol
how you seemed to be in your element with parties
“freddie! dance with me!”
your voice interuppted his thoughts, tugging on him once again as he started to groove with you
admittedly his moves were a bit awkward and lanky
but give the man a break
when did wizards have such loud parties like this
you wrapped your arms around him loosely as you started to sway your hips
causing him to drape his hands over your waist lazily, a woozy grin on his lips as he watched you move along with him
as the break of the song played
the sea of people seemingly calmed down
which surprised the ginger
“look freddie, my love, this is the best part”
and the song started to play again
the people started to jump and dance around again
you turned around and jumped along with them
and like a switch
fred started to dance along and let loose
which delighted you so much
as the song ended, the both of you stared at each other breathless
“that was absolutely mental, y/n”
“is that a good thing?”
“of course.”
as if on cue, rihanna’s s&m played
ah yes, the song i’ve been singing outloud since i was 9
“this is absolute banger, fred!”
not the only thing being banged tonight
eW WHY DID I EVEN INCLUDE THAT AKDJFNJSKF
with that being said, you turned around and started to dance again
your hips swaying side to side
causing fred to hold your waist as he tried to match along with you
which of course you took as a sign to go even closer
like you were c oughs grinding coughs him
“what’s this dancing called?”
“grinding, my love.”
as he also realized the meaning of the song that was being played
“now, are you giving me a sign, baby?”
it was safe to say your night ended quite eventful
or i do say so myself ;)))

Something In Common
Tumblr media
Summary: Spending decades under HYDRA’s control can fuck someone up in many ways. Somehow you managed to escape and live under the radar for a while. That is until your friend Sharon Carter has some old ‘friends’ show up. || 1,397 words
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Female Reader
Warnings: Mentions of torture and traumatic memories
A/N: This is re-posted since I moved blogs! Again this is my first piece of writing so bear with me as I find a format I like to write in. I’ve read this 100 times and don’t wanna re-read it anymore so I apologize for any errors. || Please don’t copy/rewrite my work! I also don’t want anything reuploaded onto different cites, etc. || This gif isn’t mine, the reupload messed it up
Sharon said she wouldn’t be gone long, after all she had a party to throw. Well, clients to meet with, technically but that didn’t stop you from calling her ‘sorority sister Sharon’ and nicknaming your shared house ‘Sigma Kappa Madripoor’. You found your jokes hilarious, Sharon had grown to tolerate them after a while.
You had just changed into your outfit when your phone buzzed. It was a message from Sharon, ‘Bringing some early company.’ You chuckled to yourself as you responded, ‘You made some friends while you were out? Proud of you.’ It had taken you some time to finally get comfortable with people and be back in the real world. But Sharon didn’t seem to mind helping you, even after learning your past.
Finally you heard voices and footsteps, you were perched on the arm of the couch when she opened the door, followed by 3 men you’ve never met. She nodded at you as she spoke, moving racks of clothes towards them.
“So you gonna introduce me to your friends or is this a hookup of yours?” you asked snickering as she made a gagging noise while two of the men softly chuckled.
“God no. Y/N this is Sam, Bucky, and Zemo. Boys this is Y/N.” Sharon said motioning from you to them.
You and the man named Bucky had stared at each other for a moment before you distracted yourself with your phone. You tuned out the conversation for a bit, stealing glances at the visitors feeling a bit out of place.
“Why does your name sound familiar?” you asked, the question tumbling out of your mouth as you stared at Bucky.
“Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers best friend, any of that ring a bell for you?” Sharon asked as you shifted to sink into the couch. “You guys should be able to get along the easiest, considering you share a nearly identical past.” she continued moving around the room.
“The hell does that mean?” Bucky asked looking from you to Sharon, while you stuck out your middle finger at her.
“You both got to play the role of HYDRA’s puppet for quite some time.” was all Sharon said, leaving you to continue. Suddenly you could feel all the eyes in the room burning through you, Zemo was the first to speak.
“Does she mean you were-”
“Given the special super soldier juice and forced to do some of the dirty work? Yes.” you replied flatly staring at Zemo before looking over at Sharon, “That didn’t really need to be brought up.”
“Hey, you asked why he sounded familiar.”
The room was silent for a bit, Bucky's eyes not leaving you for a second. You sighed and just shrugged your shoulders, “I can feel the game of 20 questions coming on so let’s get it going before the party.” cracking your neck as you spoke.
“So they used you as another super soldier?” Zemo asked, shifting to lean more towards you.
“Yes and no. I was used as a last resort. I was… more of a… test subject in most cases.” swallowing the knot that was trying to form in your throat. Hoping nobody else in the room noticed how you shifted, squirmed almost, as you spoke. You didn’t have a problem with talking about your past, it’s just some memories were more painful than others.
“I can fight the same way any super soldier can, but they always wanted to see how far the serum would go in terms of healing. So that’s what my role was,” you chuckled a bit before continuing, “The only thing they didn’t do to me was put a bullet in my skull.”
Once again the room became quiet, until Sharon spoke changing the subject for a moment as you got lost in thought. You were thankful people started arriving so you could be alone for a bit, it was easy for you to disappear into a crowd.
“If you somehow can’t blend in for shit tonight, stay near Y/N.” Sharon said, slipping her phone into her pocket. “What exactly will staying near her do?” Sam asked mumbling a ‘no offense’ quickly after causing you to laugh.
“I’m good at hiding in plain sight, so if you’re near me I’ll make sure you don’t get your ass kicked. Gotta remember this isn’t your homeland buddy.” you snickered as you adjusted your maroon turtleneck before you walked to the main room welcoming guests in and pointing a few in Sharon's direction as she entered. Relief flooded your veins as the crowd grew and you could finally slip into the background and breathe.
You didn’t mind being in a room full of people, but your mind has been replaying memories of your time under HYDRA’s control since you spoke earlier.
You cringed as you sipped your drink, your eyes scanned the room locating Zemo and Sam but not Bucky. You moved along the wall slipping past a few dancers, deciding to lean against a corner of the room. As you attempted to locate Bucky your mind began to wander.
You screamed and kicked at the person who had begun slicing your arm with a scalpel. Another attempted to get near you and this time you managed to kick their knee, hearing a crunch as they fell to the ground. Soon you had guns aimed at you and a man spoke, “We go through this all the time. You know your purpose here, so why do you continue to fight? I would hate to have you killed.’ his gravelly tone making you want to sink into the floor. As your legs were strapped to the chair he spoke again, “After she’s done here freeze her as normal.”
Again you screamed as your skin was peeled back and muscles were prodded, but you didn’t fight. You knew your purpose-
“You were right about hiding in plain sight, but you’ll have to try a little harder to hide from me.” Bucky spoke next to you, causing you to jump and your thoughts to come to a halt. Turning your head you chuckled and tried to mask what you just re-lived in your head.
“I have to say, you hide better than me. Found your friends but I couldn’t seem to find you.” your mouth cracking into a smile as you spoke. Neither of you spoke for a bit, just watched the room together making sure the others stayed out of trouble. The silence was oddly comfortable, with the occasional joke about someone's outfit. At one point you could feel Bucky's eyes on you for a while.
“Hydra didn’t give me mind reading powers so you’re gonna have to communicate with words.” turning your head to face Bucky as you spoke, chuckling as he scrambled for a comeback. He scratched the back of his neck trying to spit out his sentence, which you already had an idea as to what he was going to bring up. An amused smile on your face as you watched his metal hand shine in the flashing lights.
“What you said earlier… about Hydra-”
“You can ask questions if you want. You might understand what I say a little more anyway.” You said pressing your lips together in a thin line before adjusting your posture as you leaned more into the wall and looked to the crowd.
“I would ask… but I know what being under that control is like. As well as the memories that come with it,” you glanced over at Bucky as he stopped talking and he was watching his vibranium hand move. “I’m sorry you had to become a part of all that Y/N.” he said softly, but loud enough for you to catch.
When your eyes met you can’t help but feel they mirrored each other's pain… or maybe it was sadness? Not that it would make much of a difference.
“I’m sorry you had to become part of it as well Bucky.” a sad smile taking over your face.
You had unconsciously moved closer to him, not saying much more but not leaving each other's side. The signal from Sharon came and you sighed before nudging Bucky's arm.
“Guess we better go see what she wants huh?” stretching as you kicked off the wall.
“I guess so.” Bucky chuckled trailing behind you as you walked away.

(The things I did) Just so I could call you mine
Chapter 4/4
Also found on Ao3
Authors notes: So here it is!!! I’m so excited to have it out there and finished. I’ve had so much fun writing this and have appreciated every single comment along the way. Thank you all so very much for reading!!
The baseball scene was greatly inspired by Hate to Want You by Alisha Ray. In fact it was when I read that scene that I came up with this fic idea. Yay for plot bunnies!!!
Tumblr media
She’s standing on the dock, her arms crossed over her chest when the boat appears in the distance. She waits impatiently until he cuts the engine and idles closer.
“Hey Ray, I think your girl’s pissed. Or she’s on her period.” Tyler jokes.
“Shut up, Tyler.” Both her and Ray say at the same time.
“What the fuck?!” She shouts at him as soon as Tyler and Adam jump out of the boat and scurry away. “What the actual fuck, Ray?! You crapped out on me to get high on your boat!”
He hops out and grabs the rope, his arm muscles on full display as he ties it off. He jumps back in the boat to grab his ice chest and a few other items, ignoring her question. Ignoring her. He steps back on the dock and makes his way toward the house. Throwing up her hands in frustration she follows.
“You have nothing to say for yourself? Just going to ignore me. That’s fine. I have plenty to say.” She pauses a moment to see if he’ll respond but he just keeps on walking. “You know what, Ray? I’m not mad you bailed on me. Not even that surprised. What pisses me off most was this was an easy A for you. And instead of taking it you flake off like you always do. You think everyone is so against you but the only one truly against you is yourself.”
Finally he stops and turns to her. His sunglasses are down, hiding the truth in his eyes but his jaw is clenched, his nostrils flaring, “You don’t know shit about me.”
“Yeah?” She throws up her hands, “Then why don’t you fill me in?”
“Why?” He questions with so much vinum, “Why do you care? I’m just a Meth Row idiot heading down the same path as my father.”
She gasps because he couldn’t have heard them.
“Isn’t that what your boyfriend, Bishop, said?”
“He’s not my boyfriend.” She says, but she’s lost all her fire and it sounds pathetic to both their ears.
“Doesn’t matter, Heather.” He leans closer, “You agreed with him. Called me an idiot.”
Heather shakes her head, “No. I did not agree with him. I don’t, Ray.” She reaches for him but he jerks away and she drops her hand.
“Look. The project is done. Thank the fuck. Now I can be rid of you.”
“Ray.” She whispers but he cuts her off.
“All you were to me was a fucking nuisance Plaza left me with but now we’re finished. We don’t need to talk ever again. And I’m fucking relieved.”
She watches him walk away until he disappears into his house with the slam of the screen door. It takes her a few tries but she finally manages to walk back the way she came. Instead of heading straight home she detours to the snack mart. Gets herself a strawberry lemonade and her sister some gummy bears. Summer is working and Heather stands there numb as the girl rambles on about the upcoming baseball tournament.
“Only two more months left till we’re free. Got any big plans?” Summer asks casually after giving Heather her purchases.
Heather shrugs as she takes a sip of her drink. It’s just as satisfying as always and she feels her frustration melt away. “Not really.”
Summer leans forward through the window and whispers, “I’ve been asked to help emcee the games.”
Heather's eyes widen, “Who’s the other?”
“Diggins.” Not that surprising of a choice. Daniel Diggins is one of the more outgoing people in their grade and he seems to get along with everyone. “Are you going to play?” Summer asks.
Heather shakes her head, “No.”
Summer smiles at her, “Don’t blame ya. But just FYI I hear the pot is insane this year.” Another customer steps up and Heather waves to Summer with her purchases and starts her walk home.
She spends the rest of her Spring Break working or with Nat. Bishop is on vacation with his family. Some beach. But he’s still not talking to her so it doesn’t matter. She tries to do some fun stuff with Lily. Takes her to putt-putt at Andy’s and spends a good five minutes watching a kid in the batting cages. She wonders one too many times what Ray is doing. She knows he’s probably working too. Or out on his boat.
She wonders more than once if he’s taking another girl out with him.
All in all it’s a completely uneventful Spring Break and it’s a bit depressing considering it’s her Senior year. But completely typical considering who she is and where she comes from. Carp doesn’t let people like her escape.
Bishop returns from his trip with a bag of seashells and an apology. She easily forgives him, she’s never been able to resist when he tilts his head and gives her that sweet smile of his.
“Look. I’m not gonna pretend to understand.” He says.
“There’s nothing to understand, Bishop.”
And that’s that. Natalie dances around them and they make plans to go to a party that night.
The Senior baseball tournament starts with a school wide pep rally. As usual it’s loud and uncomfortable as they all crowd into the hot gym. The cheerleaders jump around and shake their Pom poms while the Principal tries to get everyone excited. Typically, the Freshmen and Seniors are the only ones that show any enthusiasm. The middle grades could care less. Finally they’re released and everyone makes their way to the baseball fields behind the middle school.
Natalie and Bishop are on the same team and their game is early in the day. Heather watches from the bleachers as Bishop strikes out every time he’s up to bat and Natalie manages to hit a couple of balls. They still lose the game, neither of her friends are really heartbroken over it. They wander around with time to spare, Heathers game isn’t until later in the evening. That’s even if she’s still on the team. She assumes she is since she received a group text.
Heather approaches the bench and gives a half smile as Ray looks over his shoulder at her. His blue eyes are expressionless as they meet hers and it hurts far more than she thought it would. He’s completely avoided her at school and she can’t say she’s been very aggressive with trying to get his attention. It’s back to like it was before they were paired for their project. The two of them acting as if they barely know one another.
She’s handed a jersey and smiles at Summer as she buttons it over her tank.
“Hope you Fuckers are ready to play, because I don’t lose.” Ray says as a pep speech before the game starts.
She only nods at the harsh tone of his voice and sits between Drew Santiago and Summer. Both looking far more excited than she feels about playing. The game starts and she waves shyly at Natalie and Bishop in the stands as they cheer loudly for her.
She is horrible. Absolutely horrible. The other team figures out quickly she’s completely hopeless out in the field and starts trying to hit every ball towards her. And she’s unable to hit a single ball when up at bat. Close to the end of the game, Adam pulls her aside and tries to teach her how to bunt a ball. Ray catches them and shakes his head as if to say she’s hopeless.
That there pisses her off enough to actually do it and she makes it onto first base with loud cheering from her friends in the bleachers and the team in the dugout. Well, most of the team. Ray just stands in the dugout entry, leaning against it with his arms crossed, a hard look on his face. Then she actually gets on second when Summer hits the ball to the outfield.
Heather’s idling at second base when Ray steps up to bat. She has a perfect view of him and she wishes she had spent her time in high school at his baseball games instead of whatever else she had been doing with her friends. He looks really good in the baseball uniform. The pants doing amazing things for his ass.
She hears the crack of the ball and a loud collective gasp before an intense pain in her shoulder. She realizes she’s been hit and takes only a moment to decide what to do. Running to third base she notices someone running towards her. Not someone, Ray.
“What are you doing?” She shouts, “Go to first!” She points back. His eyes are so wide, filled with fear and concern and everything else she missed the past few weeks.
“Are you okay?” He asks.
“I’m fine!” Her eyebrows lower, “But you’re out now.”
He glances back to first base and hesitates before he’s forced back to their dugout.
“I thought you were obsessed with winning!” She shouts at his back when she makes it back in the dugout. Everyone goes silent around them.
He turns to her and pushes himself in her space, “I am,” he shouts back at her, “But I’m more obsessed with you.”
Heather's face is guarded. Drew shuffles over with an ice pack. A welcome distraction as she thanks him and takes it, pressing it against her shoulder with a flinch. Her eyes flash to the bleachers and Ray follows her gaze to her friends. To Bishop.
Heather sits out the rest of the game and it passes in a blur. Ray stays at the other end of the dugout. The game ends with them losing by one. She silently makes her way to her friends who fret over her injury. They make her show them and both suck in a gasp at the bruise. It does look horrible, feels horrible too. What the hell had she been thinking, playing baseball when she had no clue about the game.
The ballpark empties out and Bishop offers to drive her home. She makes up an excuse and her friends leave her with lingering looks but neither say a word.
She finds Ray by his truck with Sarah and Tyler. She doesn’t hesitate as she approaches him, “Did you mean what you said out there?”
All eyes turn to her and Sarah and Tyler quickly give out reasons they need to go. Scurrying off with a cringe towards Ray. Sarah though shoots Heather a smile.
“Heather, look.” He sounds defeated.
She shakes her head, “Did you mean it?”
He clenches his jaw and lightly punches the side of his truck.
“Because I seem to recall you telling me you didn’t think about me like that. That I was just a nuisance that Mrs. Plaza had left you with.” She jabs a finger in his already bare chest, “That you couldn’t wait to be done with our project so you could, and I quote, be rid of me for good.”
She’s so mad. So incredibly mad and so very confused. It’s been weeks of confusion and she’s tired of feeling that way. Tired of fighting whatever this is between them. Tired of her friends making her feel bad for spending time with him. Tired of him making her feel bad for wanting to spend time with him.
Just. Tired.
He closes his eyes and shuts her out and she can't take it anymore. She shuts down all the reasons why this is wrong and she does what feels right. Grabbing his uniform, she yanks him closer. His blue eyes blink open in surprise.
“Kiss me.” Her voice is both soft and demanding.
He blinks again then brings his hands up slowly. Like he is giving her time to change her mind. But she doesn’t want to change her mind. She lets him cradle her jaw as he leans closer. Lets him brush his lips against hers. So gentle. Just a feather light touch and she needs more. Wants more. She lets him slide his thumb down the smooth column of her throat, tracing her pulse, until she tips her head back and parts her lips in a gasp. His mouth nips at her jaw, her pulse on her neck, up to her ear before returning to her mouth, finding it already open, waiting on a catch in her breath.
This time he kisses her harder, lips moving with the force of weeks worth of wanting. The hand she had fisted in his shirt uncurls and moves to the back of his neck, threading through the hair at the base of his scalp. She tugs at it until he moans her name.
She finds she likes that. She likes making him moan her name in such a pleasurable way. She likes seeing Ray Hall, who’s kissed a hundred girls, who’s fucked just as many, come undone under her touch. She takes great pleasure in it so she does it again as she pushes her body against his.
Gripping her hips he turns them and backs her into his truck, then with a slide of his hands over her butt, he grips her thighs and lifts her. Heather wraps her legs around his waist as he pushes her into the truck and the feel of his cock pressed against her center is the most mind blowing sensation. Heather drops her head back with a loud gasp and Ray makes his way down her throat. In one swift move he’s pulled her jersey open and his mouth continues over her collarbone and down her chest. He growls briefly at her tank top but it’s easily pushed aside as his hands smooth across her sports bra. Her nipples are already hard and she cries out when he slides a rough hand over them.
“Ray. We can’t. Not here.” She manages to get out in staggered breaths.
He stops, pulling back just an inch, she tightens her legs around his waist in fear he’s going to pull away completely.
“Parking lots empty, love.” He says turning back to her. His eyes cut down to her almost exposed breasts and then lower. She bites her lip when he thrusts against her, “But you’re right.”
She gasps as he moves them to the side and then opens the passenger door to his truck. After a brief kiss to her lips he sits her on the edge of the seat and smiles brilliantly up at her.
“What are you doing?” She asks and he raises an eyebrow as he takes her leggings and slides them over her hips and down her legs.
“Gonna taste you. Finally.” He growls and pushes her back, her arms catching herself on his seat. She watches with hooded eyes, her breaths short with anticipation, as he starts his descent down to her center. Just as his eyes are level with her clit, he looks up at her with concern, “This okay?” He asks. And her heart melts that much more.
“God, yes.” She whispers and grabs a handful of his hair as his tongue does one quick slide up her slit.
Ray gives head like he does most things. With lots of enthusiasm and excitement. And Heather appreciates every moment of it. It doesn’t take long for her to come with his name on her lips once he has two thick fingers in her and he’s sucking on her clit. He comes up grinning after and she laughs.
“So, that just happened.”
She sits up and grabs his jersey, pulling him to her, sliding her hands over his bare skin, “I want more.” She whispers against his lips and he chuckles. But then, as her hand slides over his stomach and inside the waistband of his pants, he pulls away.
“What?” She asks.
“Not here. Not like this.”
Heathers confused for a moment. And she feels very exposed as he steps back.
“Hey.” He whispers after seeing the look on her face. He runs a hand over her hair, “I want to. Fuck, do I want to.”
“Then why not?” She asks as she attempts to pull her pants back up. She’s starting to feel embarrassed and she doesn’t like it one bit. She had thought …. Well it didn’t matter what she thought.
“Any other girl I would have already fucked and been on my way. But you. Heather, you’re not any other girl.”
“Oh.”
He leans close, his lips just millimeters from hers, “Yeah, oh.” And he kisses her.
The next day, Heather unfortunately has to work. She is absolutely useless as she spends the entire time thinking about Ray and his tongue. She’s sure she has a blush on her face through most of the day and it’s embarrassing. She meets with Natalie during her break and she confesses that things got a little heated with Ray after the game.
Natalie just raises an eyebrow as she leans back on her hands, “I don’t get it. At all. But,” she shakes her head, “Everyone heard his confession.” She stands up, dusting off her hands before helping Heather up, “Can’t say I blame ya after that.”
Heather smiles. She knows she’ll never truly get her friend's approval but it’s enough.
She finds Rayout on the dock. Shirtless as he leans against a post, a beer in his hand, a cigarette tucked behind his ear. He’s exactly as she always pictured him. Nothing has really changed since they kissed the night before, but it feels like her world has tilted.
She approaches and he turns when he hears her footsteps on the dock. She waves shyly and he gives her his mega watt smile.
“Hey Nill.”
She sits beside him, closer than she would have the day before. He raises an eyebrow but doesn’t comment. Instead he nods to the ice chest, “Want a beer?”
“I’m okay.”
He drains the rest of his can and tosses it aside. They sit there for a while, watching the sun set silently together. Neither feel the need to fill the silence and Heather is thankful for that.
“So we kissed.” He says breaking the silence.
She knocks her shoulder against his, “I mean you’ve technically kissed most of the girls in our class.”
“True.” He winks at her and she laughs. He quickly turns serious though, “Just so you know it meant something to me.”
She studies him for a moment, his eyes never leaving hers, “Me too.” She finally admits.
“So. What does that mean for us?”
She shrugs, “I mean technically you don’t date, right?”
He looks back out to the water and she doesn’t realize she’s holding her breath until he says the next words, “Well. For you, I might be willing to make an exception.”
“Might?” She teases.
He laughs as he takes her hand and brushes his lips across the inside of her wrist. Her breath hitches and he smiles wickedly as he grabs her waist and pulls her into his lap.
“If you drop me in the water, Ray, I swear to God,”
“I’m not going to drop you, woman. Stop squirming.” His arms wrap around her back and she feels secure against him as his mouth meets hers. She opens to him willingly and the next time she squirms it’s for pleasure instead of fear.
He pulls his mouth from hers and starts a descent down her neck.
“I feel like I’m falling.” She tells him. He pulls his mouth from her and looks at her with wide eyes, “Not like that.” She says with a laugh, “I mean falling like … like when you jump from Pilots Point.” She traces a finger over his jaw, her eyes following, making his jaw jump with a tick, “You know that feeling between the jump and the landing in the water?” He gives a silent nod, “That’s what this feels like.”
His voice is rough when he responds with a “Yeah.”
She smiles at him, “I love that feeling.”
He brings his mouth closer to hers and just before kissing her again says, “Me too.”
Fin.

for the win
After dealing with a lifetime of insecurities, Winnie Walker finally gets the courage to pursue her dreams, with a few bumps along the way. But that confidence may not carry over when it comes to a certain hazel-eyed football player who’s had her attention for much too long.
A/N: this was a random inspo that hit me out of nowhere a while ago and I was gonna make it an epic oneshot, but I think I’ll just break it into parts instead. So, hence, this is part one. Hopefully you like it enough for it to be even worth posting more.
warnings: none yet, other than this is def gonna be as cheesy as you think it is
***
Winnie Walker has always considered herself an enigma. Not in that annoying, ‘I’m so cute and quirky’ type of way, but rather in the way that made her someone who never quite fit into one defined space. The kind perfected by years of self doubt, an emotionally distant mother, and the random ebb and flow of confidences and insecurities that always helps her remember that she is, in fact, perfectly un-extraordinary: her face is too round, but she’s always been called pretty; her personality is dry enough that she finds it challenging making female friends, but she fits in well with the boys; and she has a penchant for being the last one to talk about anything she might be feeling until she puts a pen to paper and speaks through the mouths of others.
Sports and writing were her main passions, but it still took until her senior year of high school to decide that she wanted to be a sports journalist. Not just a journalist, though -- more than anything, she dreamed of stepping out into the light as a broadcaster. Shy by nature but an athlete at heart, it once again put her in that enigmatic grey space where she wasn’t sure what the hell she was thinking.
But it’s what her heart was calling for her to do. For the first time in her life, Winnie Walker felt sure about something despite everyone’s doubts -- including her own. She grew up an athlete, and some of her fondest memories as a child were caught between either being in her dad’s man cave with all of his friends, cheering on their team of choice for whatever sport was on, discussing heatedly what plays should or shouldn’t have taken place. Or, on the volleyball court.
The full ride offer from USC that was presented but never came to fruition because of a devastating knee injury in one of her last club tournaments haunted Winnie in the months leading up to her high school graduation.
Her mother, Dahlia, was not-so-secretly thrilled. A stage mother through and through, she had always supported her daughter as she made headway in her sport as a star player, but it was an open point of contention that Winnie planned to follow her passion for it all the way to college. She wanted her middle daughter to attend the local university, get a nice marketing degree, and settle into a high rise in downtown Dallas, where she could point at during brunch with her friends and brag about the pretty penny her kid made with her perfectly nice degree she attained in her perfectly nice hometown.
That’s not Winnie, though, and everyone except Dahlia knew it. No one was all too surprised that she still wanted to escape to California (again, except her mother), even if they were slightly shocked about her decision for a major. The reactions from her friends and sisters and dad had her even more excited as she scanned the email of her academic acceptance into USC. It finally gave her the courage to spill the beans to her mother as well.
Dahlia Walker very much scoffed in the face of her quiet, introverted, hopeful daughter sitting across the kitchen island while she scrubbed at the dishes from dinner.
“Winona, sweetie, you refused to even speak at your sister’s wedding as the maid of honor, and you want to be on TV? With all those... men?”
Winnie cringed a little bit and rolled her eyes at the slightly far-off look on her mother’s face as she no doubt started imagining the sweaty athletes the reporters would stand next to post-game.
“You don’t think I could do it?” she asked flatly, flicking a chip of her nail polish off her finger so it flew across the otherwise spotless granite — her mom hated when she did that.
Dahlia’s hands picked up their pace again in the suds, slowed down by whatever middle-aged fantasy was going on in her mind. She shook her head, the highlights in her perfectly styled blonde bob shifting under the recessed lights.
“The girls who do that are just so bouncy. Friendly. They curl their hair.”
Winnie bit her lip. She didn’t know if she should laugh or cry. Her body felt deflated. “I knew I could count on you to be supportive.”
“Oh honey, I’m just trying to be realistic with you,” her mother said dismissively. Like she didn’t realize the pang her words caused to spread in Winnie’s chest; it should have been be all-too familiar by then, but the sting was never weakened with age or predictability. “And California? Are you really ready to be so far from home? You hardly ever even leave your room.”
It had taken everything in Winnie to hold back the open scoff she longed to throw at her mother; instead, she just stood up and left the kitchen, along with any childish hope that Dahlia might ever make an effort to really know her middle daughter.
Because anyone that knew Winona Elle Walker could predict just how much she would thrive in California. In the persistent sunshine that never quite reached the peak of being too hot for very long, unlike the nearly six months of 90 and 100-plus degree days of summer she knew so well in Texas. Within close proximity to a beach that didn’t have swamp-colored water washing ashore.
In a place well over a thousand miles away from Dahlia.
And that’s exactly how Winnie found herself in LA: thriving. She made friends easily, enjoyed life on the USC campus while she studied the exact major she had set out for the first day she sat down in her first class -- Navigating News in the Digital Age class -- and it was a relatively cheap flight home if she ever missed it too much. Winnie started feeling less like an enigma, and more like someone whose quirks were becoming more of a benefit to her success than she could have ever imagined.
Now, as a woman in her senior year, nearly 22 and set to graduate in only a few months time, she’s finally up for the most coveted position in her major: being the prime time student reporter at the biggest sporting events of the school’s entire athletic program — the Trojan football games. Reporting at football games was a job always reserved for seniors, and she had been driving her roommate — and best friend in California — Naomi crazy all summer prepping for the spot’s audition.
“Winnie, babe, you know the plays backwards and forwards. You’ve understood more about the rules of football since you were a kid than I’ll ever know as a grown woman. You have all the key players’ and coaches’ names and numbers memorized. You couldn’t be any more prepared,” she smiles, good-natured irritation clear in her eyes and behind the blinding smile that shone from her mocha-colored skin.
It softens some when Winnie stood from the couch, and Naomi reaches over and slaps her retreating ass just hard enough to make Winnie yelp and giggle. “Not to mention those squats are paying off big time, bitch. You’re gonna kill it.”
Winnie rolls her eyes and continues to make her way to the kitchen to refill her wine glass. “The camera won’t see my ass, but thanks.”
Naomi winks. “No. But Grayson Dolan might.”
Grayson Dolan — the walk-on that had stunned everyone when he was thrown into a game his freshman year after two of the starting tight ends had become injured on two consecutive plays. Now a senior himself, he’s led the team ever since in receiving yards, receptions, and TD’s, and is a clear prospect for the NFL in the coming months.
He also happens to be the player Winnie had drunkenly admitted she had a crush on during a girls night last year, and her friends have yet to let her live it down. She had felt ridiculous saying she had a crush as a 21 year-old, but that’s really all it was; he was hot, an extremely talented player, and she barely knew him beyond that one time he had spilled a drink on her at a frat party, and the rather interesting reputation that followed him around campus. There was nothing more to it.
Even if her attraction to him hasn’t died down in the passing time.
Winnie only blushes and pours herself a little extra, blaming the Maison No. 9 when Naomi throws her head back with a cackle and calls out the matching pink in her cheeks.
The morning of her audition, a mere two weeks into her fall semester, Winnie has butterflies fluttering madly in the pit of her belly. Her truer nature of being somewhat shy and timid in these situations has never left, always flaring up in moments of self-doubt and unpredictability. Undoubtedly, however, this audition deserves all the nerves; it’s a clear stepping stone into network broadcasting, and would almost guarantee her a spot as an intern at FOX Sports next semester.
She stares at herself in the mirror for a moment, silently urging herself to get her shit together, and takes a deep breath before eyeing Naomi’s curling iron plugged in by the sink adjacent to her own.
Winnie hasn’t curled her hair once in the nearly four years she’d been in LA. Not for nights out, or auditions, or even a date. A brief moment of madness overtakes her as she stands there staring at the metal device, her hand starting to reach out as words that should be long forgotten ring loud and clear in her head. For a second, the pale beige paint of her apartment bathroom turns the light blue and grey color scheme of her childhood one. Her mom had ‘surprised’ her with the the renovation one year when she decided to redecorate the house while Winnie was at volleyball camp, insisting she had chosen Winnie’s favorite colors, when in reality it simply matched the rest of the monotone suburban house that Winnie secretly couldn’t stand. It was boring, and typical, and...stuck, despite its relative newness.
With that, the fog clears as quickly as it had come, and she sets her jaw determinedly. She hasn’t let Dahlia psych her out for this long; she isn’t about to let now be the first time since she’s been out here on her own.
And maybe Naomi was right. Maybe she’d catch a certain tight end’s eye with a tight end of her own, after all.
The nausea suddenly returns as she shakes her head and reaches for her straightener instead, flicking it on before sectioning off her hair.
“No wonder you’re so fucking single, Win.”

light & shadow pt. 1 | yuta
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: standing in line for doyoung’s book signing, yuta wonders if he has ever acted normally around you
author’s note: i had no idea how else to split this story into a readable format so  this will be a two (maybe three) part series! as always let me know if you would like to be tagged in the future parts!
taglist: @sweet-rintarou
prologue: [21:26]
genre: fluff, friends to lovers, college!au (this part)
pairing: yuta x reader
length: 1.7K
Tumblr media
There are certain fundamental truths Yuta knows about the universe - the sun always rises in the east, milk goes before cereal and that Nakamoto Yuta does not blush.
“Nakamoto Yuta, do I have permission to flirt with you in Japanese?”, the translation app reads out in its robotic voice. He whips his head around to face you as if the words had left your mouth and not the phone held in your hand. And then he feels it. That unfamiliar heat rising to his neck and cheeks. One look at the amused grin on your face and he knows that you have noticed too. If there is one thing that has not changed in all eleven years of him knowing you, it’s that he should always expect the unexpected from himself when he is around you.
Even right now, hearing you gush about your attractive new coworker, Yuta feels an unfamiliar knot of form in the pit of his stomach. He suspects that it is the protectiveness he feels towards you that is making him feel so strangely antagonistic towards this man he has never met. But there is a niggling feeling at the back of his mind that tells him that that’s not the only reason why.
You always had a way of getting a reaction out of him that no one else could, always had him feeling emotions that he didn’t know he could feel. His relationship with you, while not better or worse than the relationship he had with any of his other friends, was certainly different. It always had been.
Tumblr media
In freshman year, equipped with only a translation app on his phone, Yuta left his hometown of Osaka for Seoul. He had been offered a full-ride sports scholarship by Sooman University. He would play for the school’s soccer team and pursue, to his parents’ relief, a more “practical” degree in Business Management.
He would be playing with the team where some of his favourite soccer players had first gotten their start before moving to the Japanese league. It was a dream come true. Well, almost.
He had just never imagined it would be quite this...lonely.
Over his first month in the city, he could count the number of people he had spoken to on one hand. The first was his roommate with whom his conversations were limited to “hello” and “good morning”. The second and third were two middle-aged cafeteria ladies, who would coo over him and give him an additional helping whenever they saw that he was down. The younger of the two looked so much like his aunt, that it made his heart long for his family back in Osaka.
The fourth and final person was Mr. Jung Yunho, the Student Affairs Counsellor - an energetic man in his early thirties who had lived in Japan for most of his adult life. He had sense that something was amiss and had tried to pry into what was bothering Yuta right from their first meeting. After about three weeks of beating around the bush, Yuta had finally, begrudgingly, confided in him about his homesickness and his trouble communicating in Korean. Mr Jung had listened intently through it all, occasionally patting his shoulder to comfort him.
“You must feel very lonely, Yuta”, the older man had told him, resting one hand on his shoulder, eyes shining with sincerity.
It was lonely. He didn’t have a single person he could call a friend. Everyone he had met thus far seemed so busy, living a life far too fast paced to notice the quiet foreign student at the back of the lecture hall. He wondered if anyone in his classes would even notice if he stopped attending lectures. The only time he felt like he belonged somewhere was when he was playing soccer with the team, but even then he wondered whether he could call his teammates, his friends.
“Let’s start with helping you communicate first, shall we?”, Mr Jung had said, interrupting his self effacing train of thought.
“I’ll put you in touch with someone who can help tutor you in Korean. A Korean Literature student who’s been working with some other foreign students as well. I have a gut feeling you two will become great friends!”
That was how Yuta had come to know you. He clicked on your kakaotalk profile picture and zoomed in to your beaming face. You had one of those warm, welcoming faces. A face that one would trust immediately. Your face gave the impression that smiling was your resting face. The laugh lines on either side of your mouth and the crinkles beside your eyes were further proof of that.
Yuta had sent you a short, impersonal message introducing himself as the student Mr. Jung wanted you to tutor. He had not wanted to get his hopes up. Having been all by himself in a foreign country for the past month, being dependent on someone felt strange to him.
Still, before he went to bed that night he found himself refreshing his messages, hoping for a notification from you. As his luck would have it, you hadn’t replied even the following morning. Yuta had swallowed the lump forming in his throat, pushing any disappointment out of his mind.
You made the decision to move, all on your own, to this country far away from your friends and family, where you don’t even speak the native language. You have to face the consequences on your own too. Y/N is not obligated to help you. No one is. This is your own battle, for you to fight on your own.
With those thoughts in mind, he had busied himself with getting ready for the first match of the season against the neighbouring university.
At half-time, Sooman University was trailing behind Seoul University with a score of 3-1. With the centre forward benched because of a foul, things weren’t looking up for the team. Yuta had made several attempts to score a goal throughout the game but had been stopped by the right-back, Park Minsoo, on Seoul University’s team. He was much taller than Yuta and had a larger build, which he used to his advantage.
If there was one thing he absolutely hated, it was foul play. Yuta’s teammates had tried signalling to the referee that Park had been playing dirty, but the referee, infamous for being biased towards the Seoul University team, had brushed off their concern.
After having collided with him several times over the last half, Yuta was getting impatient. He knew this wouldn’t end well for him but he had let his anger get the best of him. After another foul-worthy tackle from Park, Yuta used his side to shove the man out of his way with all his energy. Perhaps it was the momentum with which Yuta had crashed into him or pure dramatics, Park landed on his back howling in anger.
The referee blew his whistle to signal a pause and the players from both teams began fighting amongst each either, trying to put the blame on the opposing team’s player. The situation with Park must have been grave because the Seoul team’s coach and manager hurried on to the pitch as well. Yuta’s team captain stepped forward to defend Yuta from the wrath of the other side. But ofcourse, being Japanese, Yuta barely understood a word being spoken. There was no way he would be able to dig himself out of this.
The thought of being benched for the rest of the semester crept into his mind. The fear of losing his scholarship made his legs tremble and he instantly regretted not heeding his older sister’s lifelong advice to him to be more gentle.
Then you appeared. Like an angel, only instead of white robes and a halo made of pure light, you wore a blinding neon green visor and an equally garish hot pink t-shirt bearing the Korean Literature Department’s logo. He saw you hop down the bleachers and squeeze through half a dozen sweaty soccer players, to thrust yourself in between Yuta and the opposing team’s coach. You explained somewhat emphatically to the referee that Yuta was a foreigner who barely spoke Korean and that any missteps on his part were purely a misunderstanding because of the language barrier. The man didn’t seem convinced, grumbling and gesturing animatedly at the two of you, egged on further by the other coach’s growing impatience.
Yuta wished he could understand what was being said. He tried to hang on to every word being spoken, but the adrenaline from the tackle and the heightened atmosphere made it even harder for him to concentrate. He picked up a few words here and there. A mention of a foul. Then someone yelling out the word suspension, which made him clench his fist so hard he thought he would pop a vein in his arm.
But he understood the last words to come out of your mouth, perfectly well.
“Please let my friend off the hook this one time? I apologise on his behalf”.
Friend. No, he definitely had not misheard that. You had called him your friend.
You had yanked Yuta forward by the arm, pushing his head down into a deep bow. Yuta took the hint and apologised, somewhat robotically, to Park and his coach. He was not bothered by the condescending smirk on Park’s face or the dirty looks that were thrown his way by the rest of the Seoul team as he allowed himself to be dragged off the field by you.
You dragged him quickly to the empty booths near the back of the stadium, sat him down and handed him a bottle of Gatorade.
“I saw your text. I’m really sorry I didn’t reply any earlier. But to be fair I had wished you good luck with your game but I doubt you saw my message considering you were down here getting shoved around by that asshole Park”, you had started rambling while Yuta chugged the drink.
Then he did something that he would cringe about for years to come. He should have known right then, on day one, that he could never act like his usual self around you.
He had shot up out of the seat, stepped forward and pulled you right into his arms, lifting you a couple of inches up in the air due to the sheer force. Through shaky breaths, he had whispered out a barely audible thank you to you. To his relief, you didn’t fight him off.
After a few seconds, you broke the silence and embrace.
“Hey, I know I just saved your ass but you’re kind of really stinky from the sweat”, you had said in between giggles.
He had dropped you back down and grinned somewhat apologetically at you in response.
After that day, he was no longer alone.
