nothing's more embarrassing than when you like a girl, everything seems fine in person, you talk about hanging out, then suddenly you text and she says 'my life is too busy rn' 😀👍
anyways I'm tempted to turn these emotions into writing when I finish my assignments 🫠

Master of Death
wassup besties, I wrote a story for my creative writing class with the intention of one of the characters representing Natasha, and I decided to change some things and make it into a fit to post here! It's in 3rd person, which isn't my fav to read but idc I'm not changing this entire thing to second person </3
ANYWAYS enjoy!!
Nat x fem reader as always
Laying in her lover’s arms, Y/N looked up and let out her final breath. Natasha’s heart stopped as she felt the rise and fall of her lover’s chest come to an end.
Nothing was clear during the following moments. Not even screams of agony could be heard from the surrounding teammates. A gust of wind circled around the two women, engulfing them in the dust.
The enemy began to draw back. The Chitari forces moved farther and farther away from the tornado brewing atop the hill. The rest of the Avengers backed away too. There was another force driving everyone away, and it certainly wasn’t the wind.
Inside the tornado, Natasha’s heart raced faster. The girl in her arms was holding the Eternal Life Source. This was what the Chitari had been seeking, and it would make them immortal, as well as their rule over humanity. Now, the source began to fade in Y/N’s hands. She began to fade too.
“No.” Natasha muttered. She squeezed her shoulders, shaking her, yelling into her ear; anything to get her to wake. But Y/N stayed still.
Green and white swirls of light formed around the Eternal Life Source. As the light became brighter, Y/N’s image began to fade more quickly. The yelling grew louder, but the swirls of light only continued to grow.
Within minutes, everything Natasha had been holding was gone. Now, she lay there crying over mere empty space. The tornado died down as well, revealing what had happened to the surrounding fighters.
Even the Chitari drew back, while the heroes ran up to Natasha. The five of them surrounded her, each offering out an arm for support. She scowled, ignoring everyone. There was nothing anyone could do for her.
Y/N was gone… and Natasha was alone.
-
She couldn’t stay. She had to avenge Y/N. The Chitari needed to be wiped out so they could never hurt anyone ever again.
It was just after midnight when she left. She had trained as a spy all her life, it was no issue to deceive the people closest to her. Her red hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail as she crawled out the window down the side of the building. Natasha jumped on her motorcycle, then sped off.
The Avengers had been looking for the Eternal Life Source for years. Its power is great enough to immortalize an entire civilization. They agreed that no one should have that power, especially not the Chitari. So their plan was to find it first, then destroy it.
After so many years, its power finally showed up on their energy readings. Unfortunately, that meant the Chitari knew about it as well. So that’s when they set off on their mission. It was located in an isolated field in the North, and they were able to get there within a few days.
But there were only seven Avengers; the Chitari army was thousands. Y/N and Natasha were the only humans without any enhancements (besides Clint, of course). So it only made sense that they fell in love.
It started out from training sessions. The two girls would exchange lingering looks after spending hours sparring. Y/N was always the one to heal Natasha when she was hurt. She wrapped her wounds so delicately, it made the pain lessen.
After a losing battle, Natasha was there to comfort Y/N as she was for her. She would stroke her hair, holding her close. She’d tell her everything was going to be okay, and despite everything going wrong, Y/N would believe her simply because it was Natasha.
Their first kiss took place when they had the building to themselves. Music was playing quietly in the corner, and Y/N had gotten up for a snack. Natasha happened to be in the kitchen for the very same reason, staring into the refrigerator looking for something to eat.
No words were said as Y/N made her way over and wrapped her arms around the redhead to pull her into a hug. She rested her chin on her shoulder, breathing in her scent. Natasha grabbed her arms, and moved in a swaying motion. Y/N smiled as she realized what was happening, and leaned into her.
Even if they were the only ones without powers, there was magic that night. When they kissed, that’s when Natasha immediately knew that Y/N was her soulmate. She would do anything and everything for her.
-
And now, she would do anything and everything to get her back.
-
But Y/N wasn’t actually dead. No one knew, but the Eternal Life Source didn’t kill her. Its power was too much for one person to hold, so her life force ended up getting drained. But she wasn’t exactly dead, either.
Instead, she was just here. Nobody could see her, but she could still see others. Now, she was following her soulmate as she set off on a quest to bring her back.
Y/N wished more than anything that she could talk to Natasha, and let her know that she was here. But instead, there was nothing she could do except watch the woman she loved suffer like never before.
-
Natasha knew what she had to do. If the Eternal Life Source’s power is what ultimately killed Y/N, then she would simply have to harness the power of the Eternal Death Source. Then, she could get to her.
It had only been a day, but she was able to pick up on the readings. Of course, as soon as she noticed, she erased the data so the others couldn’t figure out her plan and stop her.
She rode her motorcycle as far as she could, but had to go on foot once she reached the cave system. It was dark and cold, both physically and emotionally. Natasha’s hands hadn’t stopped shaking since Y/N’s death; her lover would hold her hands close when she was nervous, and it always made her feel better. Now, there was no one to hold her hand and stop her heart from pounding against her chest.
Natasha’s fists were clenched as she walked in further. The feeling of dread was beginning to grow, which meant the Eternal Death Source was close. Tony and Clint had tried to check on her, to make sure she wouldn’t do something exactly like this. But she wouldn’t let them stop her.
The only light came from her screen, showing the energy readings of the Eternal Death Source. Just a little further, and she’d be there. She’d be able to reach Y/N.
The cave grew cooler, and her insides began to twist. She was here.
The Eternal Death Source showed a sacrifice. That’s what she needed to do to wield its power. But it couldn’t be anyone meaningless, it had to be someone she loved; that was the only way it would work.
As soon as she touched the glowing skull, a portal opened up, pulling Clint through. Besides Y/N, he was the one closest to her. He was there for her too, just in a different way.
He looked up and saw the Eternal Death Source. “Natasha, what are you doing?” Just then, a glowing knife appeared on the mantle next to the Eternal Death Source. She picked it up and looked down at him, trembling.
“It’s the only way I can get her back,” she muttered.
“Natasha, you don’t have to do this.”
“I don’t want to… but it’s the only way.”
He had been her friend all these years. She loved him, but she loved Y/N more. Clint tried to use his abilities to fight back, but he seemed to be frozen in place.
Black and purple light began to swirl around the knife. Natasha let out a shaky breath as she looked at her friend. It was all for Y/N.
Stifling her cries, in a single motion, she swung the knife down to end her friend’s life. It was done.
The black and purple light began to grow, completely engulfing her. Lightning crackled from the knife connecting to the Eternal Death Source. For a moment, Natasha was lifted off the ground. When she saw the dead body of her friend, she felt nothing.
Now, she wielded the power of the Eternal Death Source.
“Show me Y/N L/N.”
She felt the new power surging within her. The first thing she was was Clint’s spirit staring at her in shock. She still felt nothing about him, she couldn’t feel when she had this newfound power.
One movement, and an entire population would go extinct. One motion, and she could kill whoever she wanted.
And yet, it was all for nothing.
Y/N was there, in between life and death. She saw the woman she once loved wielding the power of death. She had killed her closest friend, and she wasn’t afraid to kill anyone else to get to her lost lover.
That was the moment Y/N lost hope. Natasha would spend eons using the power, massacring peoples, causing endless destruction. And it would all be for nothing.
Natasha Romanoff had the power of death. Soon, the Avengers would attempt to take her down, but it would be unsuccessful. She would stop at nothing to get back to Y/N.
The Master of Death was born that day, cursed to spend forever searching for the one spared by Life.

"No! Stay with me! Just stay with me Y/N!"
You could hear the terrified voice of your wife. You desperately tried to reach out to her, to tell her everything would be okay. You wanted to comfort her in her moment of need, yet you couldn't do that and it was killing you.
Once again, you tried to reach for her. She was running alongside you in the stretcher, ignoring the doctors orders for her to leave.
The fear in her eyes was breaking you. If only you could hold her until she was alright, and kiss her until she smiled.
Once you went through a door leading to a long, dark hallway, your view of her got smaller and smaller just as her cries began to drown out. You wanted to keep looking at her, to do anything possible to make her feel better.
But there was nothing you could do when you felt a sharp prick and your vision faded to an endless white empty space.
-
"Miss L/N? Your letter is ready."
You looked down at your long dress, going just past your ankles; if it weren't for your heels, it would've dragged on the floor. You felt your hair pulled back in a tight bun, almost pulling the skin on your face. You wore glasses that sat on the tip of your nose, clearly doing nothing for your vision.
You looked around, scanning the room. Everyone else was dressed the same.
You walked forward toward the voice calling you, then locked eyes with the man carrying an envelope. He handed it to you with an expressionless face. So, you took the letter and walked out of the mailroom.
You didn't open the letter yet, though. That was for later.
So now, you were in the crowded streets of the city. You held the letter close to your chest, walking through the crowd.
Your gaze strayed toward the sky, and the tall buildings in the distance. Soon, you would be home to open your letter-
"Hey!"
You stumbled back, realizing you had bumped into the woman now glaring at you.
"I am sorry," you told her. "I wasn't looking in front of me, when I should have."
"Yes," she agreed. "You should have."
You stared at her for a few moments. Her red hair stood out against her dark gray dress, and her green eyes shone in the light.
After a minute or so, the beautiful woman's gaze softened.
"What do you have there?" She asked.
You smiled, then decided to open it right then in front of the beautiful woman.
July 9th, 1944
Y/N L/N,
We are pleased to inform you that your application to the United States Army has been accepted. In The Great War, we need soldiers of all kind. Even women, if that is what it takes for the Allied Powers to take victory. You shall arrive at training base at the end of the month, on July 31st.
See you soon, soldier.
United States Army
"I'm going to war," you told the beautiful woman, holding the letter up for her to see.
Her face dropped. "You told me you have a death sentence, and yet I don't even know your name."
"Y/N," you said. "Y/N L/N. And you, Miss?"
"Natasha Romanoff," she replied. "And don't call me Miss."
"Well then, I hope to see you around, Natasha."
"Indeed, Y/N."
-
Three days had passed since you found out you were going to war. You hadn't told a soul, other than the beautiful woman Natasha.
So now, you decided to get yourself a cup of coffee. You certainly wouldn't be getting any while at war, so you might as well make the most of your time here.
The bell rang as you swung the door open, alerting everyone inside the shop of your presence. The first thing you noticed, was the familiar red hair from three days earlier.
She sat up straighter, looked you in the eye, then looked at the seat across from her at the table. She didn't say anything, though.
Once she broke eye contact, you made your way to the counter to order your coffee. Once you handed the barista the cash, you walked back to Natasha's table and sat down.
"Nice surprise seeing you here," she said, smiling ever so slightly.
"Well, I suppose I deserve a few coffees before I fight in the war."
Her face dropped and she looked down at the table. "Yes... I suppose you do."
"Aw, lighten up, Natasha! I want to do my part in the fight! Besides, I believe I can survive!"
"How can you be so sure?"
You were quiet for a moment, then held your arm up. Flexing your muscles, you scooted closer to her.
"I have the body of a fighter, you see!" You even motioned your arm closer to her face, prompting her to reach out and feel your upper-arm.
"You have the body of a woman..."
"That I do. Both things can be true, Natasha!"
She laughed, harder than she expected. In fact, she laughed so hard that she choked on her coffee. Her laughs soon turned into coughing as your smug look turned into a look of concern.
Once she confirmed she was alright, you heard your name and coffee order at the counter. So, you stood up, grabbed your drink, and walked back to her table.
"I'm thinking of taking my coffee home..." you said, thinking out loud.
Natasha frowned. "I've been enjoying our conversations though."
"You would take yours too! And we shall both go to my apartment and continue our conversations there!"
She smiled, then nodded after a minute. "I would like that."
"Wonderful."
The two of you stood up at the same time, walked out the door together, and began walking through the crowded streets.
"Where do you live?" She asked.
"Not far," you replied. "Just the second building on the left!"
Soon enough, you reached the wooden doors across the Cornelia Street sign. You unlocked your door, then motioned for Natasha to enter your home.
"Wow..." she said. "You live here? By yourself?"
"Yes," you said. "I do live alone."
You led her to the living room, then put your coffee on the table in front of the couch before sitting down.
"Based on your words, I'm assuming you don't live alone?" You said, once she sat down next to you.
"I do not," she replied. "But I don't live with a man; I live with my sister, Yelena."
"That sounds lovely."
"It is... we have each other. My sister is far more reliable than any man could be, and we'll always have each other."
"Do you ever wish to marry?"
"No... I was set to marry a man when I was 18, but I refused. I didn't want anyone else to have control over me. My parents disowned me shortly after, so I took Yelena with me and ran away."
You noticed tears building up in her eyes as she told her story. You set your coffee down, then reached to her and ran your thumb across her cheek to wipe the tear.
"So tell me your story, Y/N," she said with a soft laugh. "Why do you live alone?"
"My parents died when I was young, and I never found myself to be one who falls for men or wants a husband..."
"Oh."
"I'm not unhappy, though."
"Are you sure? You're a woman and you're enlisting to fight in the war..."
"Well, I'm happy right now with you, am I not?"
A moment of silence passed. Both you and Natasha took several sips of your coffee before locking eyes again.
"I'm glad I met you, Y/N."
"Me too, Natasha."
"I'll miss you when you leave for war."
"I still have some time... you know where I live now. You're welcome at any time."
She grinned. "Good to know."
-
Natasha had visited your home on Cornelia Street twice since you first brought her there. And now, she was on her way again. She held two coffees in her hand as she knocked on the wooden door.
You opened the door with a smile, wasting no time in letting her in.
"I've had quite a bit of coffee with you lately, Natasha." You said, laughing.
"Didn't you say you wanted to drink more coffee before you went to war?"
"I did, yes..."
She handed you the cup, then made her way toward your living room where you sat on the couch together.
You had a radio on the table, broadcasting a baseball game. She leaned closer to you, resting her head on your shoulder as you sat and listened to the end of the game.
Neither of you made any noise apart from the occasional sips of coffee. Instead, you found comfort in the silence and listened to the game. She kept her head on your shoulder though, which you enjoyed.
You even leaned your head against the top of hers after you set your coffee down. Your chest was warm, and it felt as if it spread throughout your body. This was what it meant to be warm on the inside, and you felt it with Natasha.
When the game was over, you stood up to turn the radio off and then sat down by Natasha again.
"I've had a thought," you told her.
"Tell me."
"There are times where I wish I could've been born a man..."
"Why is that?"
"Well, I'm a woman who lives alone and doesn't wish to fall for a man. But if I were a man, I would be allowed the privilege to fall in love with a beautiful woman like you."
She paused, smiling widely.
"Who says you have to be a man for that?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, you're a woman fighting in the war. Who says you can't be a woman who falls for other women?"
Now, the warmth in your body turned to heat as blood rushed to your cheeks. You felt your heart pounding against your chest, almost causing your hands to shake.
"In that case, I believe I have found myself falling for you, Natasha."
She smiled, wider than ever before. She leaned closer to you, wrapping her arms around your neck.
"We're the same." She told you. "I'm a woman who falls for other women... and I'm falling for you, Y/N."
The heat in your body was increasing, and now your hands began actually shaking. Natasha noticed your nerves, and gave a reassuring smile in response. Seconds felt like hours as you stared into one another's eyes.
You felt yourself inching closer bit by bit, and yet you were still too far away from her. You brought your hands up to cup her face, prompting her to lean even closer to you.
Now, your foreheads were touching. You never imagined it was possible to fall for another woman, but there was something about Natasha from the moment you met her in the crowded streets of 1944.
Finally, your lips met. You weren't sure who closed the gap, but your lips were on hers and you were kissing. For a second, you stayed still and took in the moment that you had kissed the woman you were falling for.
Another second passed, and you began to move your lips against hers. She did the same, keeping her arms around your neck.
Eventually, you felt her tongue swipe over your lips. So you opened your mouth ever so slightly, and she began to explore your mouth with her own. You kept your hands on her face this entire time, even when your body felt like it might explode.
You lost all perception of time in the kiss, so you weren't sure how long your lips were on hers when she finally pulled back.
"Thank you..." she said softly.
"Thank you?"
"For not paying attention to your surroundings that day, and bumping into me that day..."
You leaned in and kissed her again, only this time it was fairly quick.
"Stay with me." You told her. "Stay with me here until I leave."
She looked at you, clearly weighing her options as she thought about everything. After what felt like an eternity of silence, she replied.
"Okay..." she said. "But I must talk to Yelena first. She also wishes to never marry a man, but she's not completely like us, either."
"I understand," you replied. "So long as I get to spend my remaining time here with you."
"And you shall."
-
After spending the last week and a half with Natasha, the day of your departure was finally here. She held you close in your bed, kissing all over your neck and shoulders.
"Don't go," she said between kisses.
"I must go, darling."
"Stay here with me. We can stay together with each other knowing we will never marry men. They will never know about us and our true feelings."
You sighed, then smiled. "If I had the choice, I would stay with you. But now that I've been enlisted, I have no choice."
"Then run," she said. "Run away with me. They won't prioritize looking for you in the middle of the war, they'll find other soldiers!"
"I can't take that risk... you could get in trouble too if they knew you were hiding me, and I can't let that happen."
"I accept that risk though!"
"Well... I don't."
You leaned in and kissed her. "I'm sorry, Natasha. But if I could go back and do it all over, I would've done the same thing; then I would've gone to the post office to get my letter and bumped into you on the street. These last few weeks have been the greatest of my life, and I wouldn't trade them for the world."
By now, she had tears streaming down her face. So you kissed her forehead and wiped them with your thumbs.
"I'll come back to you, Natasha."
"Promise?"
"I promise. I have you to fight for, to live for. In the meantime, you may stay here whenever you'd like."
"Then I must say goodbye here..." she said quietly. "I can't say goodbye in public and act like I haven't fallen in love with you in just this short time..."
"I understand," you replied, feeling your own tears bubbling up.
So you both stood up, and she immediately leaned in to kiss you. Only she was kissing you like never before, making sure every cell in your body knew how she felt about you.
"I'm going to write letters every day," she said.
"And I'll read them every night."
You kissed again.
"My love for you is timeless, Natasha," you said. "Timeless."
-
A few hours later, you entered the training facility with other recruits. Obviously you were the only woman, but you weren't scared. You would prove yourself and get through this and fight. And then you would get back to Natasha.
To your surprise, a voice you only heard on the radio was now speaking in front of you.
"Welcome, L/N." Captain America said. "Congratulations on being our first woman recruit."
"Thank you," you replied.
"Nervous?" He asked.
"A little." You admitted. "I just have someone I need to come home to alive..."
"I understand that," he said, motioning you to walk with him. "Fight for that someone. When you're on the battlefield wounded and bleeding out, let them be the one to get you through it. Let them be timeless."
"Yeah," you agreed. "Timeless."
-
Your eyes popped open as you jolted awake. You were in what seemed like an endless white room.
"Natasha!" You called. "Natasha! I'm here for you!"
Despite your continuous calls, there was no reply. But soon enough, the endless white hallway turned into something else.
You were walking through an old street, yet it was completely empty. The first thing to catch your eyes was an antique shop, so you opened the door and walked in
To your surprise, the shop was empty too. But you didn't leave.
You looked to the counter, noticing a cardboard box. It read: Photos: 25 cents each
You picked up the model picture, looking closely; the black and white photo showed Natasha in a wedding dress being held by another woman: you.
You smiled, then set the picture down. You walked out of the shop, and back into the endless white room.
Once again, your surroundings changed.
Now, it appeared you were standing outside near a high school. Two teenagers stepped out of the car, standing in front of the the entrance. Two girls, one with bright red hair and another with Y/H/C.
The banned flashed the year '1958' with bright colors. The teenagers held hands, smiling for the pictures.
You continued walking forward, until the endless white room brought you to yet another old empty shop.
The first thing you saw was an old book covered in cobwebs. The cover was solid red with pictures of castles in the background.
You flipped to the first page and red the opening sentence: This is a love story between Princess Natasha and Lady Y/N.
You put the book down and exited the shop. Now, you were standing in front of an old mansion. Horse carriages surrounded the building, but you noticed the light from the upstairs room and the beautiful woman looking out the window.
You entered the house, as if invisible to everyone standing guard. You made your way up the stairs, letting your instinct take over.
When you opened the right door, the same woman ran to you and threw her arms around you.
"Y/N, you're here!"
"Natasha..."
When she pulled back, you could see that she had been crying.
"What is it?" You asked.
"Father says I am to be married before 1522... that gives us two years left before we can't sneak to be together anymore."
You took both her hands in yours, then leaned in for a soft kiss. "Even if you're forced to marry someone else, you'll always be mine, Natasha. We're timeless, remember?"
That seemed to make her feel a bit better. She leaned in to kiss you again.
"Timeless," she agreed.
Just then, everything around you turned back into the endless white room.
"Natasha!" You called out. "Natasha!"
Suddenly, all the memories of your accident came flooding back to you: You were an Avenger. You married Natasha three years ago and you worked side-by-side with the team.
You were on a mission together, and there was an ambush. As soon as you heard the sound of a gun cocking you put your arm in front of your wife and stepped in front of her.
You remembered the burning feeling as the bullet ripped through your stomach. But what haunted you even more was the sound of Natasha's screams as you fell against her and she saw the blood.
You had to get back to her. You couldn't leave her. Even if it wasn't the same life, you promised Natasha in 1944 that you would come back to her. There's no way in hell you would break that promise in any lifetime.
"Y/N!" You heard the familiar voice, but it sounded distorted.
"Natasha!" You called back.
"Y/N!" It was a bit clearer this time.
"Natasha! I'm coming back to you!"
"Y/N..." you could hear her... you were with her.
-
When you opened your eyes, your wife wasted no time in throwing herself into the hospital bed to hug you. It hurt your bullet wound, but you didn't care.
She immediately started crying, and hugged you tighter.
"I thought I lost you," she said through tears. "You can't leave me, Y/N."
"I'm sorry I scared you," you told her. "But I'm never going to leave you. Not now, and not in any lifetime."
She tilted her head to the side in confusion.
"We're timeless, Natasha." You said. "I'll love you when we have gray hair, and you'll say we were timeless. Hell, you still would've been mine if we met on a crowded street in 1944. We're timeless, Nat."
"Okay," she said, still crying. "Timeless, then."
"'Cause I believe that we were supposed to find this. So even in a different life, you still would've been mine."
"Timeless," she said, softly smiling.
"I love you, as our love is timeless."
You loved her here, you loved her from meeting her in a crowded street in 1944, you loved her in 1958 when you went to a high school dance together, you loved her in the 1500's in a foreign land when she was to be forced to marry someone else. You and Natasha truly were timeless.

My Shirt - Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Tumblr media
summary: someone has taken natasha's shirt...
"Good morning, detka," Natasha leaned over the bed slightly, kissing the tip of your nose to wake you up. Your eyes fluttered open at the tickling sensation and you frowned up at your girlfriend, "too early."
Chuckling, she stood up straight, watching as you pulled your blanket that was resting just under your chin, over your head. "Have you seen my black shirt with the mirrorball on it?" she asked you, gently uncovering your face. "I don't think so, maybe ask Lena," you kissed her fingers when they grazed over your lips.
She sighed, storming out of the room as she mumbled something threatening in russian. You closed your eyes again, refusing to get up at this hour.
Unfortunately, your peace didn't last long. An angry blonde woke you up, swiftly ripping your blankets from off your bed, "I knew it!" Curling up into the foetal position, you attempted to hide the tell tale sign that you were not innocent.
"Natasha said she wouldn't finish knitting the jumper for Fanny if she found out I had her shirt. You have to tell her you have it," she demanded.
"No," you smirked.
"No? You really want to tell a black widow 'no'?" she pulled a knife out from her pocket. "Natasha would kill you if you hurt me," you grinned. She huffed, "cyka."
After retrieving your blankets from the floor, you threw them back over yourself before falling back asleep.
"Malysh," Natasha kissed the top of your head. "Tasha," you reached your arms out for her, trying to pull her into bed with you. "I have to shower, ангел, but I'll be quick," she went into your bathroom, towel in hand.
She returned as soon as she promised she would, wrapped in nothing but her fluffy towel.
"See something you like?" she made eye contact with you through the full length mirror. "A lot," you subconsciously got out of bed, making your way over to her.
A gasp from the redhead caused you to realise your mistake. "I threatened half the compound," she walked over to you, her steps heavy. "It's so comfy though," you pouted.
"You're lucky you're cute," she groaned, admiring how beautiful you were in her clothes.
Wrapping your arms around her, you hugged her tightly, "I love you." She held you as if you were made of glass, afraid to break you, "I love you more."
