Dalrak the Mighty is the original 36 hour comic book I've recently revisited and decided to resurrect and give it the indie respect it deserves. So I gave the artwork a coat of digital duoshade and did a new printing of the comic on newsprint with a classic bright yellow zine cover. EDITED TO ADD: St. Louis University posted the 2023 St. Louis Literary Award ceremony; Neil’s talk starts about 40 minutes in. (Thanks DanGuyF)

In an interview before the event [Neil] Gaiman said that when he started writing comics, he “wasn’t even in the gutter.”

He said: “I used to look up and admire the people in the gutter. The science-fiction people were in the gutter, the children’s literature people were in the gutter, too, and I was so far down, I was in the storm drain.”

grant morrison being in the danger days music videos is the funniest thing to me. because gerard way really said “hey can we get my comic book writer hero to be in this video and play the sexy bad guy” and grant was like hell yes

but. but then Sing. literally has a shot of grant pinning gerard against the wall and caressing his chin with the end of a gun, before they smirk and pull the trigger. gerard literally go-directed and planned these videos. they, at some point, had to sit down with grant and be like “okay here’s the plan” and grant just rolled with it

i think gerard had some fantasies to live out there

It’s Pride 2023! Time to put up some more comic recs!

This time I’ve put together some stories about discovering one’s own queer identity, outlining a family history of queerness, and several stories where being queer isn’t the focus - queer characters are simply allowed to be.
