Daniel Wayne, the younger toddler brother of Bruce Wayne and the son of Martha and Thomas Wayne had been kidnapped the night their parents were murdered.

Daniel had been snagged the moment their killer heard people headed to the alley and Bruce in his state of shock didn't realize it until it was far to late and could only scream in horror (from everything) as his baby brother is crying his name. (If you wanna make it even more heart wrenching, make it Danny's first time being able to say Bruce's name right and/or Bruce had said some mean things to Danny earlier after he accidentally broke something of Bruce's, something like 'I wish youd go away' or 'I never wanted a brother, you're such a bother!')

Bruce is being held by Alfred as some police officers are chasing down the Wayne's parents killer while some stay behind to see if they could do something.

Minutes turn to hours and as they wait, praying the police at least found Danny, Bruce is ridden with guilt. From his parents death to allowing his brother to be kidnapped.

Eventually the police return to give Alfred and Bruce the news. And it's not good.

The killer escaped and Danny was nowhere to be found.

And it would take many years before he would be found.

Bruce gets a call from Damian during school hours one day. When he answers he is greeted with Damian demanding him to get to the school and explain himself.

Confused Bruce asks what does he mean and Damian responds with

"The two new students in class today are the spitting images of you and I father! Either they are poorly created clones or you have more hidden blood children!"

Meanwhile the very students being discussed are calling up someone too

"Ellie? Dan? What's wrong? You better not have made too much chaos already, I just paid for the uniforms for that place."

Danny forgets that peoples first thoughts aren't " Oh yea clone! " Or timeline shenanigans

So what these concerned people heard was " Yea this adult man wanted my mom and when he saw that that wasn't an option he targeted me as a child "

Dante & Ellie are just enjoying the show intentionally creating more misunderstandings and havoc, they hope someone will finally go beat Vlad since they're now too small to beat him.

Dante: " Momma practically died when I was born. "

Ellie: "Yea I almost killed him too! "

They're technically not lying just using what actually happened in a different context

Alfred after hearing what's going on grabbing his shotgun: " I still have good aim."

So there was a problem.

It turned out Ellie had become more unstable, and ended up having to retreat into her core. Frostbite explained to him how he had to carry her in himself, similar to human pregnancy, but a little more Eldritch.

Having a de aged Dan thrown in the mix, since Clockwork had de aged him to almost two years old, and his parents kicking him out after finding out about him being a halfa? Everything was a mess. Thankfully, clockwork was able to arrange for him to go to school in Gotham, even arranging fake records for him and Dan, now known as Dante, and enrolling him in school while Dante would be babysat by Lady Gotham. Now known as Danny Mortem, he was enrolled in Gotham Academy, and ready to attend until Ellie was born.(Clockwork promised him he’d only have to take a week off, that would be easily explained by the flu.)

Damian was very suspicious of his new classmate.

but no, dante called this date to life & so dante, the alpha got to decide & when silas was done raging, he was met with the smuggest big-ass smirk on the alpha's face & seriously, he was lucky silas had such a good system to control his anger & that dante had such a pretty face silas quite enjoyed looking at, because if not, he'd have pummeled that stupid face with his fists until there was no more smirk to be found.

horses were silas' terrain. sure, dante had most likely ridden before & silas pointedly ignored dante's remark on how silas was the expert when it came to riding. so ... he was the one taking the reigns. silas had spent more time with the horses in willowshire than with people & besides, dante always took the lead on the bike, so ... this was his time to shine. or something. silas practically leapt on the horse, reins curled around his fists & shot the other a look. "c'mon."

dante could sit behind him & hold on. silas didn't trust him to do this properly & given that it was dante who chose to share the horse, he'd just have to deal with it. they had a few hours & given that dante brought a bag with something in it to strap to the horse's saddle, silas assumed he had a plan of sorts.

was he curious? no yes. was he going to ask? yes no. he clicked his tongue for the horse to get going, glancing over his shoulder as it picked up speed. "better hold on, wouldn't want you to fall on your pretty face." arms ... slid around his hips & he ...begrudgingly couldn't stop a little purr from spreading within him at the familiar weight & scent practically surrounding him.

they rode in relative silence for a little while & it wasn't until then that silas realized he did miss willowshire... a little. new haven was great & he'd never felt safer before, but it lacked its connection to nature - like willowshire did. sure, he was a city-cat, always had been, but he enjoyed the scents & the quiet of the forest. well, he would if.... "could you possibly purr any louder?" what a fuckin' menace, purring his ear off.

idle chitchat was .. not silas' strong suit, but with dante ... it came easier. they had quite a bit to talk about on the regular like work, the struggles with the kids - like remy hating his guts, balis being ... balis & taj being the closed-off hermit who only went to work or train. but there was also sammy, who was growing up rapidly, but & silas had no qualms admitting it, thanks to dante, she was thriving. surely new haven played part in it, but dante was a wonderful father. she wasn't even his & yet ... silas sometimes forgot she wasn't & he knew she did, too. in her little world, dante was her daddy & silas was surprisingly okay with that.

surprisingly, my ass. he lives with you, he sleeps in your bed, you cook for him. no fuckin' surprise there.

"hold on, go right there, down that path." dante hummed, like he had any idea where they were. silas didn't know that dante had been here before indeed, only last week, scoping out a place for them. silas did as he asked, though, following down a small path to somewhere apparently. he hadn't really taken the time to explore the woods a lot, so this was definitely a long stretch for him, but he didn't mind. if anything he'd take them back to the ranch. silas always found his way back home.

"oh yeah, keep going, we're almost there."

"uhuh, like you know where we are."

"sure do."

"....uhuh."

"just wait, grumpy. you'll see."

silas ... refused to admit dante was right, not even when he brought the horse to a halt in a place... he didn't expect. seriously, what the fuck? a small clearing led them down another path, though that one wasn't traversable for the horse, so they bound it to a tree, dante took the bag & slung it over his shoulder before leading silas down to .... one of the most beautiful sights he'd ever fuckin' seen.

seriously though, what the fuck? how did he even know this place existed? who had he fucked to find out? did silas even want to go down that train of thought & be reminded dante would fuck whomever he fancied? nope, not today. instead, he decided to focus on the what the ever-lovin' fuck.

a cozy little niche by a lake, trees offering shade from the early afternoon sun, flowers covered most of the ground.... it was like... their own little retreat. while silas admired the view & silently cursed dante for having such an ace up his goddamn ass, dante unpacked - a blanket went down by the lake, boxes of silas' (& his, honestly) favorite foods were scattered across it & the lion alpha smugly flopped down on it.

For 'reasons', Ellie has been transferred to Gotham Academy under the guise of living with her guardian Vlad Masters but she's actually living with Dante, Danny, and Jazz.

From the moment she arrived, she had become rivals with Damian Wayne in everything from academics to sports and even the arts.

They wouldn't admit it but they were having fun. Having a rival who's always trying to one-up you, forcing yourself and each other to become better, more extraordinary. (It made a great distraction from their complicated home lives.)

But somewhere along the line, something had changed.

After a debate competition that was held at the school, Damian couldn't help but gush talk about this girl, his friend, Danielle Masters, and how cool and competent she was, and how she was the only person in the school worthy enough to be friends with him. (Awe baby's first crush!) But, ah, Dames, what's an ectoplasmic being and how are they not sapient or sentient?

On the other hand, Ellie is livid. She had Dan buy her a punching bag just so she could put Damian's face on it. She thought he was her friend! Turns out he's just another anti-ectoplasmic being supporter. She tries every day, to go to school, talk to him, and pretend everything is normal. But every time she sees his face and perfect smile of victory, her blood boils with a cold icy rage. (How dear he proclaims so proudly the ghosts are not truly living beings!! Just because we are dead doesn't mean we do not live on.)

Good thing Danny knows how to make portals now! Because when she gets home she's gonna go ape shit.

red hood met someone in his neighborhood this past week. a new... ally, not a friend, a bit older than tim. dante is... chaotic, always falls into his shenanigans, immediately found out about his identity and is keeping some secrets. and clearly this guy has nowhere to go, just look at him, so hood lets him crash in one of his safehouses. that's all. he definitely doesn't feel somewhat protective over him. no way.

nightwing has been taking care of this one kid on the down low. he doesn't want to admit it yet to the rest of the family, cause he just doesn't know enough about this kid. but ellie is just so lovely! she's a sweetheart and her puns are hilarious. she's obviously some sorta meta, and she's definitely homeless, so he needs time to figure things about before the batfam meets her. it's only been a few days. he'll tell them eventually. maybe tomorow.

tim drake's new friend CANNOT stop himself from getting in trouble. that danny boy finds himself in every unlucky situation possible - both at gotham u and in the pits of gotham's criminal activity. they've met like, a week ago, and danny's already been in every possible messy situation. he's from... amity plane? or something? he couldn't really find anything on the town, but he was gonna have to look. tim just hoped this new friend of his had any relatives, or else burce would want to... oh no.

barbara gordon's new coworker is interesting. just like her, the new redhead works at the library part-time. apparently jazz is staying here while she waits for her acceptance as arkham's new resident psychologist. why would anyone want that job? at least damien seems to like her - he came to visit her once, and jazz immediately knew how to deal with the feisty little guy. maybe the rest of the fam could meet her some day.

bruce wayne's really old friend has surely made a life for himself. They met when they were both young - some small gala, he barely remembers it. but vlad masters' ambitions led the two of them to meet a lot more often. they're friends, beyond the whole cheerful rich guy persona. bruce genuinely is very interested in the guy - both for their genuinely lovely conversations, and for all the secrets bruce is sure vlad hides.

so when vlad is visiting one day, bruce suggests a family dinner. alfred is very excited to call all the batkids that day. surprisingly, all of them individually decided to bring guests! who would've thought. alfred just hopes he can keep everything in line.

maybe the dinner guests are normal, for once. please let the guests be normal.
