there are, however, exceptions. black creek, washington is one such exception. a town that exemplifies odd america, black creek's origins are unknown. the town simply appeared one day, as if out of thin air. this was many, many years ago. today, it's inhabited by a modest population that does their best to ignore the things that go bump in the night.

odd tales have always circulated in black creek. folklore has been passed down generations in whispers, so as to not alert the oddities that the townies know they're being ... watched.

folks warn of vengeful ghosts, of a living forest, of a creature that brings you bad luck but they could never imagine what hides beneath the facade of black creek.
