El senses that Steve is a girl in the wrong body but not saying it because she thinks everyone knows and calls Steve mom but they don't really mention it, so she doesn't until she overhears Eddie calling Steve his boyfriend.
"Eddie, why do you call Steve your boyfriend?" El asked, coming up behind them.
"Uh," Eddie said, looking over at Steve. "We did tell people, right?"
"Yes, you were there," Steve replied.
"I mean, why don't you call her your girlfriend?" El asked and Steve bit his lip.
"Because Steve is a man, sweetie," Eddie replied.
"But everyone calls her mom," El said.
"That's a joke because he acts like a mom sometimes," Eddie said, not noticing how quiet Steve had gotten.
"But she feels the same whenever I am around a girl, like whenever I am around Erica or sometimes Max. She feels differently from whenever I am around Jonathan or Lucas or Will or Dustin or you," El replied. "Steve feels like a girl."
"Sweetheart, I don't understand," Eddie said, looking at her in confusion.
"I was going to tell you," Steve choked out a sob. "But I didn't know how."
"Steve, baby?" Eddie asked.
"I tried to tell my parents once, but they said I was confused, and they tried to send me away to fix me but not in the way I wanted," Steve cried.
"Oh, baby, there's nothing about you being a girl that needs to be fixed. If you say you're a girl, then you're a girl, and I am the luckiest guy in the world because I have the prettiest girlfriend in the entire universe. Stevie, I love you no matter what. Even if you were just a floating ball of energy, although that would make it harder to have sex. . .not that I wouldn't try because you, Stevie Harrington, would make the prettiest ball of floating energy," Eddie rambled on.
"What is. . .sex?" El asked, her face serious, and Eddie looked at her, his face stricken.
"Well, sweetie, when a mommy and daddy or when a daddy and a daddy or when a mommy and a mommy love each other, they sometimes share this special hug that looks like they're wrestling. . ."
"Eddie!"
"I know what sex is, Eddie!" El giggled and walked out of the room, leaving them alone.
"So, you're really okay with me being a girl?"
"Yeah, babygirl, I am."
"I love you," Stevie whispered and pressed a kiss to her boyfriend's lips.

Jon, Kon, Tim and Damian all chatting, and start musing on their various anxieties about going dark side and how they would stop each other.
Elle wanders in and only catches the last bit where Jon and Damian are referencing world domination and is just like:
Elle: Oh, are we going dark side? Who do you guys need me to fight? I can body just about anyone in the League but I'm pretty sure Batman had some tricks up his sleeve to deal with me so we'll have to account for that. I know you guys aren't gonna want to kill anyone in your families, but I'm pretty sure I could alter the nightmare dimension to be less, you know, nightmare-y while still keeping it inescapable so that's an option -
Jon: W h a t
Damian: We are not going "dark side" Nightingale...probably.
Jon: Definitely! Definitely no dark side!
Elle, relieved: Oh thank the Ancients, that was gonna be such a bummer
Tim: Jesus Christ you didn't even hesitate
Kon: You didn't even need any kind of justification. Did you just hear Jon say "take over the world" and that was all you needed???
Elle: I mean, yeah? I wouldn't be happy about it but I'm not just gonna let Jolly and Day go and take over the world without me.
Jon: I'm not sure if I should feel touched or worried...
Damian: Are you seriously saying your loyalty to us is greater than your duty to the world?
Elle: Day I would crack the universe in half and devour the souls everyone who ever so much mildly inconvenienced you two if you asked.
