You expected Eddie to stay dead. You know, because that's what dead people do. You had cornered Dustin and forced him to tell you everything when Eddie "went missing." So he did. And now your best friend is dead... or so you thought at least up until you woke up to him peering over you, fangs on full display.
"Miss me, sweetheart?" he says, brushing some hair from your tear streaked face. You pushed him away. "Stop it.. I don't need more stupid hallucinations to remind me you're dead.." you whispered as you turned away from him, tears glossing your eyes.
"Come on.. did you really think the world was gonna go on without Eddienoo?" He chuckled, smirking down at you.
"My world won't.. but you managed to make me believe that you were here last time.." you said, let out a soft sniffle and brushing away a tear. "So what's the difference this time?" Eddie asked as he leaned forward, tilting your chin up. "You feel my presence." As he leaned closer. His warm breath kissed your skin when he exhaled.
"Just means you're getting vivid.. or I'm going insane.. cause I damn right felt you last time, too.. You're dead, Eddie.. you're not real.." you whispered, only making yourself cry more.
"Yeah, well, I'm not dead, princess, and it's high time you realize that." Eddie paused for a moment as his thumb brushed away your tears. His fingers tightened around your chin. "I was dead, but I came back. That's the difference, so why don't you quit crying before I give you something to really cry about?"
You sat back against the headboard. "First of all.. dead people stay dead.. second of all.. my Eddie wouldn't talk to me like that in a million years.." You sniffed. "Well, maybe it's time you realized just how much has changed for me while I was gone. Because yeah, old Eddie would never have spoken to you like that, but I'm not him anymore. I'm a vampire now. And guess what? Vampires are assholes, sweetheart."
You felt your heart break at that. "Then I don't want you here.." you said, tears blinding your vision. "I want the Eddie who takes care of me and makes sure I- I get up in the morning.. or that I'm eating enough.." you said, letting the tears stream. The way you spoke hurt him. But he tried to hold it in, he really did. A slight frown creased his face when he saw that you were getting upset again.
"Well, he's gone, princess. And so is this new version of me that you didn't even give a chance." He turned, hands placed on the sides of the bed. "I didn't come into this life to please you."
Your lips quivered as you tried to speak. "Then you're not the sweet man I secretly fell in love with and tried to kill myself for.." you whispered, your voice cracking as you spoke. His hands clenched into fists. The veins in his arms stood out more prominently against his skin than before. The words you spoke triggered something in him.
He turned to face you, standing over the bed with his hands pressed down on the mattress. "What was that?" he asked with a low growl. "Since you're not.. not my Eddie.. then you're not the man I loved and tried to take my own life for because I found out he died.." you repeated. Something about the way you said that made his blood run hot, his eyes turning nearly black with a simmering rage.
He leaned forward, hands coming down to grab your shoulders. "Do you have any idea how angry it makes me that you would even dare to think you should end it?" He got close, his voice laced with pure anger. "How angry would you be if I said I tried?" You asked, tears blocking your vision once more.
He wanted to scream at you. He wanted to yell at you and tell you how stupid and selfish that was. But he felt a slight twinge at the back of his mind. You were suffering. And maybe it really was because of him.
Eddie loosened his grip but let his hands slowly and softly cup your cheeks. For the first time in a while, his eyes were filled with pure concern. "You what?" You sighed. "I've tried.. I- I've really tried, okay? But every single time, a stupid hallucination of you shows up, telling me that I shouldn't do it and that you'd want me to fucking live.. but I wanted you to live with me.. and I didn't get that.." you said.
At first, he was going to deny that you weren't crazy, but he kept catching himself wanting to let his guard down. Your words of having made multiple attempts sent him into a spiral of internal conflict.
He wanted to scream at you for even considering it. But he knew he shouldn't get mad that you did, especially with how devastated you were about his death.
Eddie stayed silent for a few moments, trying to get his thoughts in order. "You actually tried to go through with it? Multiple times?" You nodded. "Knives, ropes, you name it, I've tried it.." you whispered. His hands fell from your face and squeezed into fists. His anger was quickly replaced by hurt.
"You really didn't want to be here without me?" He looked away for a moment and let out a heavy exhale. "What made you think that I would want that?" You sighed. "I didn't care.. if you wouldn't stay to finish this stupid life with me, neither was I.." you said, another tear rolling down the damp skin of your cheek.
"You didn't care..." he repeated quietly as he stared down at you. For the first time in ages, his heart felt heavy once more, and it hurt him knowing exactly how much you were suffering.
Eddie leaned down and placed one of his hands on your cheek, his thumb gently stroking through your dampened tears. "You're hurting me."
You let out a soft exhale. "And you hurt me.." you said, looking him dead in the eyes as you spoke. "I never wanted to hurt you," he said as his thumb rubbed softly at a tear trail that led down your cheek. "And I don't want to now, but if I know I'm hurting you just being here, then I should just go, shouldn't I?"
Your eyes widened once more. Was he really just gonna leave you again? Your breathing quickened along with your heartbeat, panic flowing through your veins as you watched him stand up and take a step back. He looked away from you once more and stood straight, putting a few feet of distance between the two of you. And even though he wanted to turn and run, he knew he would only be hurting you even more if he did. He knew that he had to stand here and face you.
"I'm going to do the right thing and just leave," he began, his words were as if they were being forced out of him. You felt your body go numb. Not an ounce of control left as you sat there. Heartbeat at 186 and almost a matching breathing. Just watching him take more and more steps backward.
He saw the way you were reacting. He saw the way your body froze up, how your heart began to pump faster, and how you started to breathe erratically. But what really got to him was your wide, fearful eyes. Just at that moment, he could tell that your panic was escalating beyond words.
He paused for a moment, thinking about what he should do. But seeing the way you were reacting was breaking his heart. Your eyes were begging. Pleading. Knowing what you would just do to yourself if you let him leave once again. But you weren't in control right now. You couldn't stop him. Your body was betraying you, forcing you to let him take the decision without further discussion.
"Sweetheart, look at me," he quietly demanded, turning back to face you. But as he did, you could see how much it hurt him to see you like this, the way your eyes begged him to stay as if you could do nothing to stop him.
"I don't want to hurt you, so just answer me truthfully. Do you want me to stay?" His hand shook slightly as his arm fell to his side. You couldn't answer. Your body didn't let you speak. But you needed to. It was now or never, right? If you didn't answer, he'd just leave you again, right? Your body trembled as you tried to speak. But nothing came out.
You couldn't answer, and the uncertainty of the situation made his blood run cold. The way your body was shaking and the way your voice refused to come out meant that he had likely hit on what you wanted. But how much did you want it?
Eddie took a step closer to where you were sitting, leaning down by the bed's side and placing his hands on your shoulders. "I need an answer, sweetheart. Do you want me to stay here, or would you be better off with me gone?" A tear rolled down your cheek as you realized you wouldn't be able to answer. Not now. Not in a while. You begged that vampired could read minds. You begged for him to hear to words you were silently screaming.
He couldn't handle it.
The way you were shaking and the way your eyes were screaming at him. You couldn't answer because he'd broken that trust between you both in that moment when he was angry.
He pulled his hands away and leaned down so you could stare him directly in the eyes.
"I'm begging at this point, sweetheart. Please, look me in my eyes and tell me that you want me to stay..." Your eyes drifted to meet his. As you know that you wouldn't be able to speak or nod. You decided to try nodding with your eyes as it was your only source of movement. Eddie had a feeling that you wanted him to stay. But just in case, he took a moment to observe the way your eyes moved, seeing if your head would shake or if you'd try to find a way to say yes.
His eyes widened as the truth was confirmed.
"I'm going to ask you one last time, sweetheart," he murmured, his eyes locked on yours. "Do. You. Want. Me. To. Stay?" Your eyes frantically formed a nod. Begging him to stay with you. Pleading for him not to leave you again. For a moment, Eddie was completely speechless. He nearly fell to his knees with how relieved he felt. He had put everything on the line there. Just a few seconds ago, he was ready to turn around and leave forever.
But instead, he leaned down and wrapped his arms around you. Pulling you into a loving embrace, his head buried into your neck. Finally, you felt yourself slip back into control.
"Please,please,please,please,please,.." You repeated, begging as you clutched the material of his jacket in your hands. He rubbed your back in a soothing manner, still unable to believe that you had just done the one thing he needed to hear.
"I'm here, sweetheart. I'm not going anywhere." You wanted to be held like this, and he was certainly going to give it to you. He was going to give you everything you wanted, and he wouldn't stop until you were smiling again. You wrapped your legs around his waist, trying to be as close to him as possible as you sobbed against his shoulder, repeating words of begging into his ears over and over.
A rush of emotions hit him as you clung to him like you'd never let go again. The moment you wrapped your legs around him made his heart flutter. His eyes remained closed the entire time and he continued to rub your back.
He knew that this was the moment that would solidify your feelings for him. Now, there was nowhere to go but up.

Little Holy Bird
Starring: Demon!Eddie x Angel?Reader
Warnings:
Tumblr media
You were an angel. Eddie was a devil. The two of you never got along at all, and now you had both been sent on some stupid mission together. None of you thought it was fair. He was a dirty, rotten devil, and you were a sweethearted angel! You were in Hawkins to protect someone. You didn't really care to focus on what Gabriel said you were supposed to do, so you didn't know who you'd be protecting. You only focused on the annoying fact that Eddie 'the demon' Munson was you accommodate.
"Ugh.. why did I have to be paired with you of all people?!" You groaned, walking slightly faster than the long-haired demon. They'd been rivals for as long as both of them could remember. Eddie scoffed at you, looking back over his shoulder.
"Ugh, how dare I be paired with a goody little two-shoes with wings, a halo, and a stupid set of rules! I thought we would never have to see each other again after we both left hell, but now I'm stuck here with you! And your damn halo is too bright for my liking, it hurts and burns my eyes!" He snapped at you. The angel scoffed. "Well, at least I'm not a filthy demon!"
"Shut it, holy one! You think you're so much better than me because you have wings and a stupid halo. Who made you and all the other angels such a pain in the ass, huh?" Eddie turned back and raised his eyebrows, not waiting for you to respond. "Oh, right, Gabriel did, after all, you're an angel. Just like all you other little holy shits." The angel mumbled something the demon couldn't quite hear. Eddie's curiosity was aroused by you mumbling something under his breath. He snapped at you again. "Excuse you? What was that? Speak louder."
"Well, maybe you ended up in hell because you deserved it!"
"And maybe you ended up an angel because you're a sniveling coward who follows all the rules and never does anything risky. You're a goody two-shoes without any backbone. You don't even know why you're here, do you?" Eddie scoffed, stopping as he saw the place he needed to go. "At... at.. At least I didn't kill my parents!" The angel finally got a comeback, but it wasn't sweet. Eddie froze as they said those words, his eyebrows narrowed as you had crossed the line. His eyes grew and his jaw tightened. No one talked about his parents like that.
"Take that back..." The angel covered her body with her long, white wings as she sighed. Eddie was seething, his eyes still narrowed as he spoke. His tone was harsh, although he had not raised his voice.
"Look at you... hiding behind your wings like a coward who can't take what they dish out. You know nothing about me, or the situation with my family, so you can kindly shut your mouth."
"At least I didn't murder my parents out of anger." She said, looking the demon deep in the eyes. Angels had multiple eyes and wings, after all. The words stung, and the demon's fists clenched even tighter. He was furious, his breath becoming shallow as he stared this angel down, not blinking at all.
"You know nothing." He said through gritted teeth. "One last chance, say that again and I'll show you... No, wait, I have a better idea." Eddie grabbed her arms and dug his fingers into her skin. "Ow! What in God's name is wrong with you?!" As the demon he was, burn marks formed on the purely white skin of the angel. Eddie laughed, a cruel, wicked laugh. He looked down as the burn marks formed on the angel's skin, a small flame licking from his hand as he smiled, revealing sharp, pointed teeth.
"I know what you're thinking... How did a demon get this close to an angel. How is it that an angel's skin can burn and turn ashen?" He asked, the demon letting go of the angel's arms to slowly walk in front to face her. The angel stepped back, looking down at the burn on her skin. How the white and pure skin now had a layer of glowing ash. Eddie smirked as he reached out and tapped the ashy, burnt skin.
"It's simple... The closer I am to you, the more my body corrupts you. I am a demon, remember? Just being near me makes you not-so-holy, not-so-pure. It makes the skin of an angel like yourself turn black and ashy. It makes you feel something you've never felt before, even for a split second... A feeling I'm very familiar with... Pain." The angels expression was a mixed look of surprise and fear as she backed up. Her wings covered most of her as she was afraid of the demons touch on her skin. Seeing the look of fear on the angel's face only brought a smirk to Eddie's lips. The demon slowly advanced towards the angel, circling around just to make the angel feel more afraid of what he would do next.
He stopped in front of her, his expression and tone back to the one he kept earlier. "Why are you afraid? You should be fine as long as you don't cause me any problems. You've only been touched by my hand once, and you got over it, didn't you?" She looked down at her arm, seeing as the ashy skin hadn't gotten any better. Usually, for an angel, wounds and bruises went away almost immediately. But a demons touch? No, that's permanent to remind thy angel of their sin. Eddie laughed darkly as the angel stared at her arm, still seeing the ash from his touch lingering. "See? You will carry my mark with you for the rest of your stay here. I am making you less and less of an angel, and that means you will be closer and closer to being a demon, and maybe you will like it." The demon smirked again, backing away from her now.
The angel spread her wings slowly, backing up. Then she turned around and ran. Ran as fast as she could with the help from her flapping wings. Eddie smirked as he watched the angel run away in fear, her wings flapping behind her as she ran. He let out a chuckle as he watched her disappear into the distance, but then his amusement turned to a frown as he realized what the mission was. He needed the angel to protect someone. He couldn't do that if she was afraid of him. He turned in the opposite direction of where he stood and began to follow her. The angel ran into a forest, hiding far up in a tree where she knew the demon couldn't reach. Demons couldn't fly, could they? Eddie sighed when he realized where the angel had gone. He had to find her one way or another. The woods were sprawling and dense, but it was his mission to protect this person that the angel had been sent to protect. He began to walk deeper into the forest, keeping an eye out for her and hoping that she would step on a branch, and it would break, bringing her down to his level. The angel sat on a branch far up in a tree with her wings hiding her body as she kept panicking over the ashy marks on her arm.
Eddie began to laugh when he finally found her. Seeing her sitting up in the tree with her wings pulled tight around her to hide the ashy skin made him chuckle. He stared up at her, his eyes following the movements of her wings as they flapped a little, trying to make herself smaller. Then he heard the most pathetic thing he'd ever heard. The angel started praying. Eddie's eyebrows narrowed when the angel started praying. He had never heard the sound of a prayer come from an angel's mouth before. The angel was meant to be a perfect being, without sin and without fault. Hearing her pray brought an amused expression to Eddie's face.
"Is that what you do when you're in trouble, you pray?" She didn't dare cut off her prayers just to answer him. Amén.." she prayed. Eddie had always thought that angels were too perfect to need prayer, but listening to the sweet prayers coming from the angel's mouth made him reconsider. The prayers she spoke made him feel something he hadn't felt in a long time.
"Why are you praying? Who are you praying to?" He asked, a gentle expression now present on his features. "Abun di bashmayya nethqadash shmak. Tethey malkuthak. Newe tzevyanak aykan di bashmayya af ba’ara. Lakhman di sunkanan yamana hav lan yoma dheyn. Wa-shbuk lan khavine aykana, d’af hanan shbukan l’khayvine. Ulo ellan lanisyana l’heyn atzeyl lan min beesha. Amin.." she prayed, going from Spanish to Aramaic. Eddie watched in silence as she went from speaking in Spanish to Aramaic, her prayers flowing like music as he listened to each word. He wasn't entirely sure who God was to the angels, but he was enjoying the sounds of her prayers, and he wanted a bit more of it.
"Do angels pray often?" He asked her, as he was genuinely curious. Then Latin, "Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen." Eddie watched in silence as the angel continued speaking in multiple languages, her prayers flowing so smoothly out of her mouth.
"Why do you know so many different languages?" The demons deep voice echoed out, as he continued to watch her lips from down below. The demon then realized she didn't breathe while she was praying as she panted when her prayers were done. Eddie smirked when the angel suddenly stopped speaking. It was quite strange to him that she didn't need to breathe while she prayed. When he heard her panting with exhaustion, he knew it was his chance to move closer, and he jumped from where he stood up to where she was. The demon was now standing on another branch.
"I like your prayers," he said softly, the amusement of earlier now replaced with a soft, comforting tone. "How in.. how did you get up here..?" She wondered, standing up and backing up until her back was pressed against the tree. Eddie smirked at the way she backed up against the tree, which clearly showed a look of fear. "You think that you're safe just because you're up high? I am a demon, silly. Demons have been around way longer than you. We know a thing or two about flying."
Eddie's grin widened as he saw the fear on her face. He then reached over and touched the burnt skin where he had touched her earlier. She flinched as the painful feeling returned to her arm. The flinch made her try to back up, but she fell. The angel couldn't react early enough and therefore couldn't use her wings for help. Eddie reached his hand out to catch her midair, catching her soft body in his strong grip. He smirked as the angel looked up at him, fear still in her eyes.
"See, I'm not so bad. I caught you, didn't I?" He asked, looking down at the angel he had been terrorizing mere moments before. "Let go.. letgoletgoletgo.." the angel begged with tears of gold in her eyes. Eddie chuckled as he noticed the tears in her eyes. He couldn't help but reach his thumb up to her cheek, wiping away the golden tears.
"Come on, angel, don't cry. I caught you, didn't I? I won't let anything happen to you." He said, his voice becoming soft as he looked at this vulnerable angel in front of him. "Y-your touch.." she started. "I-it burns.." Eddie's smirk faded away and was replaced with a soft, gentle smile. He was beginning to enjoy the softer side of himself. This angel brought out a side to him that he hadn't known existed.
He pulled her into a hug, making her golden wings spread out around them as he held her against his chest. His dark body radiating heat as it spread over her own.
"Does it still burn?" He asked, his voice becoming gentle. She cried and shaked as the burning feeling spread across her whole body. Eddie's grip became tighter as the burning feeling slowly spread, and he buried his face in her hair. He didn't know what to do, other than letting the angel cry it out while she was in his arms.
"Shhh... Shh, angel. It's going to be ok. You're safe, you're safe." He said, his deep voice trying to be comforting. "I-im not!" She cried, trying to free herself from his grip as burns literally spread across her skin. Hearing the angel cry and try to fight him, Eddie was confused. He thought he was helping her. His touch was spreading pain to the angel? It was getting worse, he could feel that much. As the burns spread across the angel's skin, the demon panicked and didn't know what to do. He had never felt concern for another being before. He didn't know *how* to help this angel. "L-let go.." she begged, struggling against the demon. Eddie suddenly got scared as he realized that he was causing all of this pain to the angel. He didn't want to let her go. He was scared of what would happen if he did, but he didn't want to hurt her.
He pulled away slightly and looked at her face, his dark eyes looking down to look into hers. The demon reached out and gently brushed away the golden tears that had formed in her eyes.
"I'm sorry that my touch is hurting you. How can I stop the pain?" He asked her. "Don't.. don't touch me.." Eddie's smile faded again, and he backed up, removing his hand altogether. The demon was once scared to let go, but now he was too afraid to touch her because of the pain he was causing. The demon looked at her with sad feelings building in his heart. Seeing the angel crying was beginning to tear him apart.
"I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." The more the demon looked at her, the more he realized that his touch was quite literally burning the angel's no-longer pure skin. Eddie was terrified of touching her again, just fearing of the pain she was feeling as the burns spread across her previously pure skin. The demon wanted to hug her again, but the fear of causing more pain overpowered his compassion.
"What do I need to do?" The demon asked the angel as he looked her in her eyes. He wanted the burning to stop, he wanted her to stop suffering, but he didn't know how. The angel was panting and crying nonstop as the burns spread on her skin, which was no longer pure nor white. Eddie was terrified, as he saw the burns spreading, the angels once pure skin beginning to turn as black and ashy as his own. The demon moved closer to her, his hands hovering just above her back. He didn't dare touch her, but he wanted the burning to stop.
"Angel, I don't know how to help. There must be a way. What do I need to do to stop this?" He asked, his voice becoming soft and compassionate once more. "I-i don't know!" She cried. Then, a feather of her wings fell off, making her panic. It broke Eddie's heart to see the angel's wings fall apart. He watched as another feather dropped. It was clear that her body was trying to reject her wings as the burns spread across her skin.
"It's okay, angel, don't panic," his soft and gentle voice came out. "We'll figure out a way to help you," he said, his voice becoming soft as he approached her gently once again. Eddie's eyes widened as he thought about the situation more. The angel was in a tree, and she was in danger of falling. He needed to help her to the ground, where it would be easier to help her. His concern for her well being had overtaken his fear of touching her.
He stepped forward and gently grabbed the angel by the wrist, not letting her go as he brought her down to the ground. As soon as they reached the ground, the angel lay down, curling up to a ball as the pain got worse along with the burns across her skin. Eddies heart was breaking as he watched the angel curl into a ball. His eyes were on the burns spreading across her body and he was too scared to touch her, not wanting to cause her more pain. He sat down on the ground beside her, his eyes following the spreading burns as they took over her once pure skin. She screamed in pain as all of her skin was now ash and nothing more. Her hair turned black along with her previous golden eyes. Eddie's eyes widened as her skin turned to ash and her hair turned black. The screams of pain filled his heart with guilt, because he was the reason she was in so much pain. His body heat was burning her, it was spreading the burns, and he didn't know how to take it back.
With the angel now lying on the ground in front of him, her eyes black and her skin now burned and ashy, the demon was at a loss for words. As soon as all pure on the angels body was black and ashy, she passed out. Eddie's eyes widened as she passed out. He reached down, placing a hand on her head to feel her temperature. As he felt how hot her body had become, he felt worried as he tried to wake her up.
"Angel?" He asked urgently, shaking her a bit. "Angel, please wake up." Shit, did he make her a demon or something? Eddie was terrified as the angel didn't respond to him. He gently pushed on her shoulder to get her to wake up, but she remained passed out. He shook her a little harder now, his desperation growing.
"Angel. Wake up!" He said, his soft voice now becoming concerned at how she wasn't responding to him.
Tumblr media
With the angel no longer waking up, Eddie was worried. He had never dealt with this before, he didn't know what to do. He picked her up and tucked her in his arms, hoping that carrying her away from here would somehow bring her back to consciousness.
"Angel, please wake up. WAKE UP!" The demon's cries continued to echo through the forest, as the angel remained unconscious in his arms. Apparently, an angel had heard the commotion and gone down to check on them. "Hello? Oh, God, a demon..!" the smaller angel said as they approached the demon. Eddie noticed the approaching angel, his face changing into a frown as he looked at the angel.
"Go away. This is my duty." He scolded, refusing to let the angel approach them.
"My duty to protect the person this angel was sent to protect." He added, hoping that was an adequate enough answer for the new angel. "That.. that is an angel..?" The angel asked, pointing to you. "What did you do to her?!" They panicked. Eddie was angry immediately as the other angel accused him of hurting the angel in his arms. He looked at her, her black ashy skin and her black eyes made her look like she had turned into a demon. He knew he had caused this, but that didn't mean he was happy about it.
"I didn't hurt her. She was sent to protect someone and the touching of my skin burned her." He said, his tone becoming angrier with each word be spoke. "Oh holy God.. you.. she.. you turned her into a filthy demon!" The angel yelled and backed up. Eddie rolled his eyes, getting irritated with the accusations so it was a good thing that the other angel was backing up, or else he didn't know what he would do.
"I didn't turn her into a demon. I didn't mean to make her skin ashy and her eyes black. It's happening because my touch burns her." He said, not lying but not giving all the details either. "Yes, and the touch of a demon can turn a completely pure angel into a demon within minutes." The angel was sounding serious as they spoke. Eddies eyes widened as he heard the other angel's words. His hands tightened around the angel he carried in his arms.
"I didn't know that!" He said, his tone becoming scared. "Is there anything I can do to turn her back to an angel?" He asked. "I-i don't know! We aren't supposed to have any contact with demons!" Eddie raised his voice as he grew concerned for the angel in his arms.
"You aren't helping! You're not telling me anything that's useful! All I know I've done is turned her into a demon and I need to know how to undo it. So please tell me how I can fix this." He said, his eyes pleading with the other angel. "I-i seriously don't know! I'll.. I'll ask Gabriel or God!" Eddie let out a soft groan as he looked down at the angel in his arms. Now he had to wait for the other angel to leave to talk to God or Gabriel.
"Hurry! Go as fast as you can." He said, becoming desperate now that the angel he had burned was getting worse every minute that passed. The angel quickly flew back up where it came from. Within minutes, they came back with another angel. Gabriel. Eddie's face changed to one of fear and worry as the second angel arrived. He recognized Gabriel, but he had never spoken with him. Gabriel had always kept his distance from the demons. He let Gabriel approach them, keeping his eyes on the angel in his arms the entire time as she continued to get worse. "Well.. this looks like a lost cause." Gabriel sighed. Eddies heart dropped as he heard the words he feared the most.
"What do you mean a lost cause? You mean I can't fix her?" He asked, his tone coming out as a scared squeak. Now he couldn't help but blame himself. "You can.. but it has a low sucession rate.." Eddies eyes widened as his hopes were raised ever so slightly. Even if the chance was slim, he was going to try. He had to fix what he had caused to the angel in his arms. He had to make things right.
"Then please, tell me what I must do. Anything. I will try everything to return her back to her pure, perfect angel status." He said softly as he looked up at Gabriel with hope in his dark eyes. "She can never be perfect again, no." Eddie's breath caught in his throat as he heard the words. The angel could never be perfect again? That meant that things were never meant to be the way they were before. His guilt and self-hatred returned, causing him to turn away from the angels and try to hide his emotions.
"How can I return her to her former self then, if that is not possible? I cannot have her live like this. Not as a demon." He said, shaking his head in denial of what he had just heard. "She won't be a demon.. but she will not be a pure angel." He explained. Eddies heart broke as he realized that she would forever be a broken angel.
"Then what will she be?" He asked quietly, hoping that they were not leaving him in darkness about the fate of this angel in his arms. "If it succeds?.. a mix." Eddies heart dropped as he heard the answer. The angel was going to be a mix, a mix between demon and angel? How would she look? The two things that were opposites, the two beings that were completely different from each other, and the angel he had burned was going to become a mix of them both.
"And how can I ensure that it succeeds?" He asked, looking up at Gabriel. "You need to go visit a mixed.. get her to help you.. and maybe that angel there will be okay." Eddies heart rose as he heard the angel say that he might be able to fix this.
"And where would I meet a mix?" He asked, his voice back to one of hope. "There's a place between the heavens and the hell.. she lives there." Eddie's body went still as he heard the angel mention where a mix could be located. Between heaven and hell, the two places where demons and angels are separated.
"Do you know what it's called?" He asked, hoping that the answer was yes and waiting for a name to be said. "The mixed one?" Eddies eyes widened as he realized that they had to actually go to a place, not just see a mixed as the angel said.
"No, the place. Do you know what the place is called?" He asked, hoping that they didn't have to try finding the place themselves within this vast and wide world. "Oh.. it doesn't have a name." Eddies eyes went wide as he let out a deep sigh.
"So, there is no name for the place?" He asked, his frustration growing as he realized they would have to search the entire area by themselves to find this one "mixed." Gabriel shook his head and left with the small angel. Eddies heart sank again as he saw the two angels leave. He was back to not knowing where to go, how to find the mixed. As far as Eddie was concerned, they could search the earth forever and never find this mixed.
He looked down at the angel he had burned, the angel whose life was changed forever because of him. He shook his head at himself, thinking about how this should have never happened.

Eddies search for the mixed was a struggle. The days became weeks, the weeks became months. Many times he had felt so close to finding the place, but nothing was working.
As the months went on, his heart began to grow heavy. Eddie wondered if he was ever going to find the mixed, especially as the angel in his arms looked like she was getting worse as days and months passed by. As he reached the last place he'd even think about, he saw a small building. A wooden cabin in the middle of hell and heaven. A place he didn't even know existed. Eddies eyes widened as he saw the wooden building in front of him. A place between heaven and hell, a place he had never known, was standing right in front of him.
The demon approached the building and walked up to the door, knocking on the wood. He wanted to see this mix for himself, and he hoped she could be of help to him in fixing the angel he had destroyed. A woman opened the door. She was nothing like Eddie would expect. She had dark grey skin and black hair with a set of colorful eyes. Eddies eyes widened when he saw the woman. She was the opposite of what he had expected. Instead of being like the angel in his arms, she had a completely neutral color about her, and her eyes were extremely vibrant.
"Hello, do you mind if I speak with you for a moment?" The demon asked, giving a small bow of his head as he began to walk into the building if she allowed him to enter. "You fucked up, didn't you.." was all she said and walked back inside the cabin, not closing the door. Eddies heart dropped as he heard the harsh words that the woman said to him. He wanted to disagree with her, but she was right. The demon had definitely made a mistake in burning this angel and ruining her skin.
"Yes... I did." He added as he followed her into the cabin, stepping into the room that was completely neutral in terms of color. "And you want to reverse it.." The demon slowly nodded his head.
"Yes, that is why I am here. I must try to reverse this burn that I have caused to this angel, in hopes that it will bring her as close to her former state as possible."
He looked down at his feet as he took a deep breath back in.
"I've tried searching for someone like you for a very long time." He looked back up at her, his tone becoming soft. "Can you help me?" The mixed woman sighed. "Lay her down." She instructed and pointed to a table. Eddies eyes went wide as he heard the mixed woman's commands. She was quick to get up to business, and he appreciated that. He gently laid the angel down on the table, making sure to be careful since she was fragile. "Careful, you dimwit!" She scolded the demon before getting a thick book from one of the shelves. Eddies eyes widened as he was scolded by the mixed woman even though he was being as careful as he could be. The angel was fragile, that much he could agree with, but it was not like he was trying to damage her. He wanted to protect her as much as possible. He stayed still as he kept his hands on her shoulders, waiting to see what the mixed would do with the book she was holding. "She could literally go up in ashes if you aren't careful.." the mixed one muttered as she turned the pages on the big book quickly. Eddies heart skipped a beat as he heard the words of the mixed woman.
"Is that actually possible?" The demon asked, his voice becoming more panicked when he heard the words. He already felt guilty enough with the damage he had caused to the angel, but now the thought of her potentially burning to death made him worry even more. He kept an eye on the mixed woman, hoping that she would hurry with the big book she was looking through. The mixed woman stopped halfway through the book. "Turn around, close your eyes, and don't open them until I say so." She instructed firmly. Eddies eyes widened as the mixed woman gave him instructions. He quickly turned around, his dark eyes closing to not make any mistakes. He stood there, back facing towards the mixed woman, trying not to do anything wrong to make the situation even worse for the angel. Even through his eyelids, he could see the bright light of what seemed to be a spell. Eddies vision was filled with bright light even though his eyes were closed. He squeezed them tighter as the bright light grew stronger. Just when he thought he couldn't take anymore, the light dimmed and disappeared.
When the demon's vision had returned to normal and the light had disappeared, he opened his eyes again and turned to face the mixed woman once more, waiting for her to tell him what would happen now. "Did I tell you to open you damn eyes, demon?" She sighed and closed the book. "And no, I'm not speaking harshly to you because you're a demon." Eddies eyes grew wide as the mixed woman's tone changed to harsh again. He stayed still as he remained silent and waited for her to finish speaking.
"Can you fix her now? And why did you tell me to turn away and close my eyes just now?" He asked, wanting to get to the end of this problem. "Take a look at your beloved angel." She said, looking at the angel whose skin had turned a light gray and her hair a pastel red. Eddies heart skipped a beat as he saw the change in the angel. She no longer looked like the dark ashy angel he had burnt. Instead, she was beautiful, looking back to her former self. However, Eddies eyes narrowed as he caught sight of the grey skin.
"Did you keep her from the fire or make her a mix?" He asked, his tone becoming slightly more worried after seeing the change. "I don't understand what you mean by 'Keep her from the fire'. But yes, I made her a mix.." Eddies heart dropped as it settled in that the angel wasn't able to remain an angel after him burning her. The best she could be now was a mix.
"Will she be completely fine like this? Or is being a mix a permanent thing? Does she get powers from the devil now?" He asked, hoping that he could at least put an end to his worry by understanding what being a mix meant for the angel. "No, no.. don't worry.. she's okay." Eddies relief was instant on his face as the mixed woman told him that the angel was okay.
"How are you so sure she will be okay?" He asked, still worried about any complications from the change she had gone through. Her life had been altered because of him, and now she would have to live the rest of her life as a mix. Even if she was okay, it was still something that he didn't want for her and that he felt guilty about. "Does she look like a pile of ash?" Eddies eyes went wide as he considered the point the mixed woman had made. The angel no longer looked like a burnt piece of ash but had been changed into a light colored mix. She had survived, and that was all that mattered to Eddie.
"No, she doesn't look like a pile of ash. But that doesn't mean she will be fine now, does it?" He asked, wanting further reassurance from the mixed woman. "If she ain't ash, she's alive.. no need to thank me for saving your damn girlfriends life or anything, definitely not.." The mixed one sighed annoyed. ignoring the fact that she called the two rivals for lovers. Eddies heart skipped a beat as the mixed woman called the angel his girlfriend. While that was far from the truth, the fact that the mix knew about the angels feelings for the demon made things a bit... complicated.
"So, she will be okay then? No more side effects or anything that will happen after this?" The demon asked, wanting to be as sure as possible about the angels wellbeing. "Figure it out!" Her voice sounded quite annoyed. Eddies eyes narrowed a bit as the mixed woman seemed annoyed by his repeated questioning. He would have tried to stay a bit longer to continue talking to her, but he could tell that she just wanted him to leave.
"Okay, I understand. Thank you for your help." He said, trying to keep a kind tone to not aggravate her anymore than she already seemed to be. The mixed one picked up the angel, handed her to the demon, and shoved them out. Eddies heart raised as he finally got to hold the angel in his arms once more as the mixed woman placed her in his arms. As she pushed them out of the cabin, the angel in Eddies arms started to wake up.
"Hey..." She said in a soft and tired voice, her eyes opening up. "Mmmh... hm..?" She looked around, then up at Eddie. The angels facial expression changed to one of surprise and panic. Eddies heart dropped as he saw the panic in the angel's eyes. He looked down at the angel, noticing the fact that she was clearly surprised by the change that had occurred while she was unconscious.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked gently as he made sure the angel was still safe in his arms as he spoke. "H-how am I not burning up? What did you do to me? Why doesn't anything hurt? Why is my skin gray?" She kept asking questions at a rapid pace. Eddies heart broke as he watched the angel in his arms suddenly wake up and go into a frenzy. She was panicking and asking questions that he hated answering. And the worst part was that he had to tell her the truth.
"You aren't burning up anymore because you are a mix now. You are a mix between an angel and a demon, which is why everything seems different. I..." Eddies voice caught as he started to lose track of his words. "What? What the.. wait, I can swear now?!" The angel smiled as she excitedly asked if she could use swears. Eddie's jaw dropped as the angel in his arms started to smile and ask if she could swear now. She had become a mix and had suddenly gained an interest in using swear words, which was completely off to the side compared to the fact that she had just been transformed when she was unconscious.
"I guess you can swear now...." The demon replied, finding it amusing how she was excited over something so small when she had been transformed into a mix in front of him just moments ago. "Thank fucking god!" She smiled, hugging the demon close. "It was so boring to only be able to say 'oh my god' or 'jesus' and that shit!.." Eddies eyes widened as the angel in his arms suddenly started to curse a lot. He did not expect the angel to be so thrilled about the fact that she could now swear, but he guess it made sense since she was so frustrated by not being able to in the past.
"You seem pretty excited by the fact that you can swear now." He teased with a soft smile as the angel continued to hug him. "Obviously! I haven't been able to swear for thousands of years!" Eddies heart skipped a beat as the angel in his arms said she hadn't been able to swear for thousands of years. The thought of her holding back for so long was hard to imagine for the demon, especially when most of the people in hell constantly cursed around him.
"So, you're ready to do some real swearing now?" He asked with a soft smile as she continued to hold onto him with happiness. "Yeah..!" A giggle left her lips. "And I gotta say, you give good hugs.." she snuggled herself in the demons arms. Eddies heart practically stopped when the angel snuggled herself in the demons arms with a smile. Her sudden affection for him, her blushing demeanor, and the fact that the angel was so soft and warm against him, made the demon feel so different towards her.
He knew it would be wrong to have these feelings for her, but he couldn't help himself. For some reason, the angel in his arms was making him feel things he has never felt before.
"I..." Eddies voice caught as he tried to find the words to match her affection. The mixed angel rested her head against his fiery chest and slowly fell asleep in his arms once more.Eddies heart skipped a beat as the angel in his arms began to fall asleep while resting against him. He watched her breathing become slower and her heartbeat slowed down slightly as she drifted into sleep in his arms.
Seeing her like this made his heart flutter with excitement as he just held the angel in his arms silently. His eyes were glued to the sleeping angel as he just wanted to stay this way forever, just holding her in his arms and watching her rest.

the idea that abc may have just accidentally spoiled the 911 season arc by putting ryan in what is a clearly all-queer-characters-of-911 line-up of actors for a celebrity family feud episode is so fucking funny that i want it to be true so badly it hurts
