I'm in a new era
I love all types of music. I do. And before this week i would have said the same thing, however i hated country music with a burning passion. I thought it was just the same old 'i'm drinking whisky whlie plowing the field thinking of you!' type stuff. (which is my own fault) I also thought there wasn't alot of acceptance for marginalized people in the country music scene, which there isn't, however i came across a queer country song titled "You wanted a cowboy" by Johanna Wacker and instantly fell in love with it. So i began searching for more queer country music and to my surprise, it wasn't hard to find. From POC and LGBTQ+ singers i have found a new love for country music. One that is free from hate, and instead loving and passionately queer.
I learned more about the wild west and how queer it was by Kaz Rowe's video: "Exploring the Queer History of the Old West... Yeehaw". It was insane to me how it truly was. (not saying that it still wasn't terrible, i mean the whole thing was the catalyst for trying to eradicate Native people [to my limited knowledge]) It was then i remembered another video: "The Battle of Blair Mountain - West Virginia Coal Wars I THE GREAT WAR 1921" by "The Great War". It talks about an amazing labour uprising and the power of unions. It also just so happens that West Virginia, the same place in which this powerful battle took place is not a safe place for marginalized communities today...
I guess what i'm trying to get at here is we need to look at the past to better the present and future, but really, what im saying is we need to stand together as a united front, because to rich capitalists they don't see the difference in us (say city folk vs country, queer vs straight/cis, POC vs. white, etc.). They only care about two things, making money, and making sure we stay divided. I understand it's hard to care for people who don't care for our beliefs, but we need to if we want to make change. (something i am still learning everyday, most likely will learn all my life. that's why im posting this) Maybe this whole thing doesn't make sense and y'all just view this as rambling, but i hope that at least some of you will understand what i am trying to say with this <3. Thank you for reading. Stay educated, and love/care for eachother as we are all we have in the battle.

The Challenge of Sharing the Mystical
I’ve written here about my thoughts and opinions on the mystical – religion, magick, and the like.  What I haven’t done is share experiences I’ve had.  As you can surmise, I’ve had them, and had ones that stood up after examination – I just don’t like sharing them.
I wanted to explore why, and the hope that it provokes dialogue, dear reader – with you and with myself.
First, such mystic experiences are to an extent personal. They’re intimate things involving gods, personal motivations, and personal insights.  Sharing such things feels, to be honest, rather cringe as people younger than I say.  It’s like blogging about your marriage or when your friend confided their insecurities.
Second, I dislike the idea of sharing mystical experiences as it sounds like bragging – and the esoteric community has no shortage of annoying braggarts and grifters.  I don’t want to show off, I want to share and learn and have a few laughs.
Third, I fear being misinterpreted.  The realm of the mystical is not easy to communicate, and the bullshit out there makes it even more of a challenge.  I’d rather not accidentally lead someone down a painful path, and I’ve made my own mistakes.  Let’s just say I take Quigong much more seriously after what we shall call “an incident.”
Fourth, I sometimes wonder if I can explain mystical things properly.  I have notes on my experiments going back  about 25 years.  But I have to translate them from “me” to “other people and sometimes I’m not sure what I wrote down.
Fifth, let’s face it, all experience is incomplete.  My mystical experiences, even well-explained, might not actually be useful.  That might lead to people misinterpreting as well.
And, finally, I’ve seen plenty of drama among communities of magicians and mystics, and I want no part of it.  This also means I’m pretty bad at finding fellow practitioners, something I hope to remediate – but I don’t blame myself.
So that’s it.  Still, I think I should start sharing some of what I’ve done, and I am seeking appropriate ways to do so.  I will doubtlessly do some here.
Maybe I’ll share some of what happens here – but in a non-cringe way, of course.  I hope.

The Banana Girl
There are some people in my neighborhood that have been building a camp outside this summer, but it’s not a summer camp.  It’s down by the train station in town.  It started as 1-2 people, and it’s really grown.  By now it’s like 10+ people and everyone seems to have their own bedroom made of materials we house-dwellers leave in our alleys.  They found a couch. It’s white, certainly shows dirt, but it looks comfortable.  I’m half-joking here, but this community shows a lot about human resourcefulness.
About half the group is nodding off whenever I go by.  Truthfully, it’s hard for me to watch, and even harder to live, I’m sure.
I keep on thinking about how I could be of service to these pop-up neighbors.  I’ve thought about how I could go to the grocery store and get a bunch of bananas, a couple bunches even. I work from home and have a flexible start time - I could do this every single day.  Every day, I could go get bananas, bring them over and say, “here are your bananas!”
Bananas are better than packaged food.  They’ll offer nice levels of sugar, carbs, and energy. They’re affordable enough where I could keep getting them every single day. As I keep showing up, the group will notice, and they’ll start to greet me when I come by. “Here comes the Banana Lady!” they’ll say. Or they’ll call me Banana Girl, whatever. I look younger than I am.  I figure we would shoot the shit before I have to head home and hop online to work.  I imagine it being sort of fun.
There is nothing preventing me from doing it. Yet, not once have I brought over a single banana. How insane.

Pierce: I don't even deserve this Buddhist meteor wand.
Women: Oh.
Troy: (crying)It's not a meteor. It's a cookie wand. Me and Jeff made it because it made you look like the Cookie Crisp wizard. This is not even a reference I get because the Cookie Crisp mascot wasn't a wizard when I was a kid, it was a burglar.
